Transcript
- 0:02SPEAKER_00: Hello, everyone.
- 0:03SPEAKER_00: Welcome back to another great episode of Truth Be Told.
- 0:06SPEAKER_00: I am Mickey, your host, and joining me today is my co-host, Bethany.
- 0:09SPEAKER_00: And today we are going to venture in and dive into the Word of God.
- 0:13SPEAKER_00: And we are starting a new series today.
- 0:17SPEAKER_00: We just finished a great series and it was powerful and amazing called Are You Thirsty?
- 0:22SPEAKER_00: So if you missed out on that, I hope that you guys jump in there and look up those episodes.
- 0:26SPEAKER_00: We had um we did six parts to that series today.
- 0:30SPEAKER_00: I don't know how many parts we're going to do to this series, but um we're gonna take off and we are going to ask you this question: Are you ready for eternity?
- 0:39SPEAKER_00: What does that look like?
- 0:41SPEAKER_00: What does that mean?
- 0:42SPEAKER_00: We are going to dive into the word and share exactly what that is all about.
- 0:48SPEAKER_00: And I know Bethany has some great scripture to bring today, and I can't wait till we dive in.
- 0:53SPEAKER_00: So, Bethany, good morning and afternoon, and hello, and glad you're here.
- 0:59SPEAKER_02: Yes, thank you.
- 1:00SPEAKER_02: Great to be here and looking forward to this episode.
- 1:07SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's gonna be great.
- 1:08SPEAKER_00: I think that um it's a very important question that we should be asking ourselves.
- 1:14SPEAKER_00: Um as we talk about salvation, eternity is is is next in line.
- 1:19SPEAKER_00: I believe it's right there with salvation.
- 1:22SPEAKER_00: Um, a lot of times when we think about salvation, a lot of people do it just for the eternity part of the salvation.
- 1:29SPEAKER_00: Not necessarily the reason why we should do it, but it's a good part as to why we should do it.
- 1:34SPEAKER_00: So it's important that we do get ready.
- 1:36SPEAKER_00: Um, as the word says, that we are the bride, and Jesus is waiting for us to get ready.
- 1:41SPEAKER_00: So that means getting ready for eternity.
- 1:44SPEAKER_00: So would you like to praise him?
- 1:47SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 1:47SPEAKER_02: Okay, that's great.
- 1:50SPEAKER_02: Lord, I thank you once again for this time we have to meet and to encourage and strengthen and uplift.
- 2:08SPEAKER_02: Not because of us, Lord, but because of you.
- 2:13SPEAKER_02: Because of your word.
- 2:29SPEAKER_02: This time is yours.
- 2:32SPEAKER_02: Yours to impress upon those who are listening and watching what they need, Lord, what you have for them.
- 2:43SPEAKER_02: And so we thank you for what you will do during this time.
- 2:48SPEAKER_02: We thank you for what you will do going forward as well.
- 2:53SPEAKER_02: Not just solely during this time, but as time goes on, Lord, we thank you for how you will impact and impress.
- 3:07SPEAKER_02: And we pray that there would be obedience to your leading and your direction.
- 3:17SPEAKER_02: And so we thank you again for what you will do in Jesus' name.
- 3:23SPEAKER_02: Amen.
- 3:25SPEAKER_00: Thank you for that.
- 3:26SPEAKER_00: I'm excited about this because I think about when Jesus returns, what that's gonna look like.
- 3:30SPEAKER_00: And I know that the word talks about us not really having an exact day or time that Jesus is gonna come back.
- 3:38SPEAKER_00: But I do know that the word gives us a lot of information to prepare ourselves, and not just in the the worldly realm, but in the spiritual realm with our um our walk with God.
- 3:50SPEAKER_00: And so I'm super excited about getting into this message today.
- 3:53SPEAKER_00: Um, what scripture, where are we starting today?
- 3:56SPEAKER_02: We are starting in Proverbs chapter 27 and verse number one, and the inspiration for this episode and possibly series was a recent sudden death of someone in a government position.
- 4:34SPEAKER_02: And when I heard about that experience, what happened immediately the Lord just impressed upon me, especially the second half of Proverbs 27 verse one, and I honestly haven't stopped thinking about it since I heard about that death, and so today I I'm just really impressed a little to ask the question that is the title of this episode Are You Ready for Eternity?
- 5:38SPEAKER_02: Because well let's let's read Proverbs five seven one and see what it says.
- 5:56SPEAKER_02: It says not thyself of tomorrow for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth and that verse is not saying to never make plans or never, you know, enjoy life or anything like that.
- 6:31SPEAKER_02: But to me at least, it's very evident that each each one of us needs to be ready for eternity because the moment eternity starts for anyone if they're not a Christian, there's no chance of becoming a Christian.
- 7:18SPEAKER_02: They're where they're at for all of eternity and eternity is timeless.
- 7:34SPEAKER_02: There is no time frame, and Mickey, I don't know about you, but my my mortal mind cannot comprehend it.
- 7:54SPEAKER_02: And so that's why I'm so concerned, so burdened that people understand not to scare them, not to shove it down their throats, but to encourage them to even as this verse says that we don't know what a day may bring forth.
- 8:45SPEAKER_02: And you know people who experience long term illnesses or anything long term, there's maybe a bit of expectation that you know that one day they're not gonna be here.
- 9:21SPEAKER_02: But when you have those sudden deaths those people who they wake up in the morning and they seem perfectly fine, but then something happens and by the afternoon or the evening they're not here anymore.
- 9:58SPEAKER_02: And that is shocking to me.
- 10:06SPEAKER_02: Those sudden deaths and so like I say, it it's not that I don't want you to make plans for things.
- 10:27SPEAKER_02: Anyone watching or listening.
- 10:38SPEAKER_02: But I'm encouraging you make sure you have your eternal destination settled now today because no one knows, and so Mikey, what are your thoughts on this?
- 11:13SPEAKER_00: Well, I like what you said about not wanting to to you know bring, you know, cause anybody, you know, that panic or fear.
- 11:23SPEAKER_00: But in some instances, um I was listening to another pastor, um, I don't know if you know who he is, Philip Anthony Mitchell from Church 2819.
- 11:35SPEAKER_00: And he's a very bold um pastor.
- 11:38SPEAKER_00: And one thing he said to me that resonated with me about that is not, and I don't want to anybody think I'm a fearmonger because I'm not, but it did resonate me deeply because um we are at a time in life right now where we need to figure out our certainty, what we're where where we are headed, where we are going.
- 12:01SPEAKER_00: And like you said, death, death can happen at any moment for anyone.
- 12:06SPEAKER_00: Um when we see someone that's that's ailing or ill or you know, suffering from a long-term um condition, we have kind of an expectation and a knowing already.
- 12:16SPEAKER_00: We were we already have a knowing that they're gonna pass away if you know eventually.
- 12:20SPEAKER_00: Like when my grandmother was, you know, um, she had dementia and she was like diminishing.
- 12:26SPEAKER_00: We knew at some point she was going to be leaving us, you know.
- 12:30SPEAKER_00: And of course, age, you know, as well.
- 12:31SPEAKER_00: She, I mean, she made it to 95, but something Philip Philip Anthony Mitchell said, and that really struck me, and it was it was very bold and it was very deep.
- 12:42SPEAKER_00: But he said, I wish sometimes people would experience the enemy so badly that it would scare the hell right out of them.
- 12:53SPEAKER_00: Because we often think about um, there's a lot of great, great things to eternity, but the opposite of that is not great at all.
- 13:04SPEAKER_00: And I think a lot of times we kind of we kind of try to test the waters to see how far we can push God in the in the realm of going to eternity.
- 13:16SPEAKER_00: And it's scary.
- 13:17SPEAKER_00: So when he when Philip Anthony Mitchell said this, it really struck me really hard because I was like, man, um I hope if I'm not if I'm not a hundred percent where I need to be, then I hope the enemy something happens where you know I get the hell scared out of me.
- 13:35SPEAKER_00: You know, I I was like, you know, wishing that upon myself.
- 13:38SPEAKER_00: Because sometimes I think, you know, we we kind of tread lightly when we really need to be um serious about it and take it into an account.
- 13:48SPEAKER_00: And yeah, keep on, I mean, God doesn't want us to walk around and worry and fear and fret and all of that.
- 13:53SPEAKER_00: He doesn't want that, but he does want us to understand.
- 13:56SPEAKER_00: He wants us to know the meaning of eternity and the opposite of what that would look like if we are not Christians.
- 14:04SPEAKER_00: So with the scripture, let me get back to my scripture.
- 14:08SPEAKER_00: I had to look that up real quick.
- 14:09SPEAKER_00: Um when we think about um boasting not thyself for tomorrow, for thou knowest what the day may bring forth, we don't know what the day is gonna hold.
- 14:18SPEAKER_00: But we can walk it, we can walk it out every day, knowing that God is with us, is especially if we're saved.
- 14:24SPEAKER_00: We don't have to, we don't have to be afraid.
- 14:26SPEAKER_00: But if there's a doubt or an inclination in your mind that you are not saved, you definitely want to get saved.
- 14:33SPEAKER_00: You you really need to get saved.
- 14:34SPEAKER_00: And I've heard people pray this the sinner's prayer or salvation prayer, whatever you whatever you want to call it, um, over and over and over and over and over and over again because they just don't think that they're saved.
- 14:46SPEAKER_00: What that tells me is that they do not truly trust and believe that God is gonna do what God says he's going to do.
- 14:55SPEAKER_00: I believe when you pray the sinner's prayer, you are saved.
- 14:58SPEAKER_00: Are you still a sinner?
- 14:59SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 15:00SPEAKER_00: You did not, your sin did not disappear.
- 15:02SPEAKER_00: You're still a sinner.
- 15:04SPEAKER_00: We do have to repent of our sins daily.
- 15:07SPEAKER_00: And when we stand before God, we have to take in account everything that we keep doing or do do or did do that we did not repent for on judgment day.
- 15:18SPEAKER_00: And then after that is the eternity.
- 15:20SPEAKER_00: We get to spend the rest of our life with Jesus.
- 15:23SPEAKER_00: We get to walk around with Moses and David.
- 15:26SPEAKER_00: And I can't wait.
- 15:27SPEAKER_00: You know, I want to hear David play the harp.
- 15:29SPEAKER_00: What about you?
- 15:30SPEAKER_00: Can you imagine just sitting in a grassy field why David's playing the harp?
- 15:36SPEAKER_00: Or, you know, eat the fruit that they talk about, or um, listen to Jesus tell his stories, you know, the parables that he shared.
- 15:45SPEAKER_00: All of the things that I'm so excited for.
- 15:47SPEAKER_00: And I have so many questions, you know, I have so many questions, I'm sure.
- 15:51SPEAKER_00: But I'm excited for that because I know where I'm I'm going.
- 15:57SPEAKER_00: No one in my ever my whole life has anybody ever told me they were excited to go to hell.
- 16:03SPEAKER_00: By the way.
- 16:04SPEAKER_00: Not one person.
- 16:06SPEAKER_00: I have had people say, well, I'm just gonna go to hell.
- 16:08SPEAKER_00: I'm just such a bad person, I'm going to hell.
- 16:10SPEAKER_00: And I advise them, I usually try to advise them to not think that way because they're so down on themselves and they don't trust who God is in that moment.
- 16:20SPEAKER_00: We have to trust that what God says in the Bible is true.
- 16:26SPEAKER_00: All of it.
- 16:28SPEAKER_00: Not not there's not one word in the Bible that is not true when it comes to God.
- 16:34SPEAKER_00: So we have to be very careful and we have to be very mindful when we're speaking these things.
- 16:39SPEAKER_00: Like if we're speaking, you know, oh man, I'm just I'm I'm so bad, I'm just gonna go to hell.
- 16:43SPEAKER_00: I don't advise you speaking that over yourself, for one.
- 16:46SPEAKER_00: And for two, I advise you speaking that against the the enemy.
- 16:51SPEAKER_00: The enemy is gonna go to the pit of hell.
- 16:54SPEAKER_00: So we need to not follow the enemy.
- 16:58SPEAKER_00: We need to get whatever it is that makes us feel that way, then we need to get that cleared up with God because we don't know the day or the hour.
- 17:04SPEAKER_00: And don't go, oh, I'm gonna do it tomorrow.
- 17:07SPEAKER_00: Oh, I'll do it next week.
- 17:08SPEAKER_00: Oh, I'll do it Sunday at church.
- 17:11SPEAKER_00: Like you said, we do not know the day, what the day may bring forth, like it says in Proverbs 1, 20, or 27.1 I mean.
- 17:19SPEAKER_00: We don't know what's gonna happen.
- 17:21SPEAKER_00: We don't know what's gonna happen the moment you walk out the door, or you get in your vehicle, or the next storm that comes through.
- 17:27SPEAKER_00: Look at how many people have have have died from the storms over the last five years, even.
- 17:33SPEAKER_00: Hundreds and thousands of people have died just from weather, just from the weather alone.
- 17:40SPEAKER_00: And and and God knows what he's doing.
- 17:42SPEAKER_00: And sometimes we think, well, man, why is God doing that?
- 17:46SPEAKER_00: God has a plan.
- 17:47SPEAKER_00: It's not our plan, it's his plan.
- 17:49SPEAKER_00: And if there's corruption in the earth, he's gonna wipe it out.
- 17:52SPEAKER_00: Says that.
- 17:53SPEAKER_00: Look what he did to Sodom and Gomorrah.
- 17:55SPEAKER_00: Wiped it right out.
- 17:56SPEAKER_00: So we are living in worse times than they ever did back in the days of Sodom and Gomorrah.
- 18:03SPEAKER_00: God is not pleased with how we are living today.
- 18:06SPEAKER_00: And we have sugarcoated and we have accepted what society has given and shown and displayed and brought us up with rather than the word of God.
- 18:22SPEAKER_00: We don't stop, we don't stand on God's providence.
- 18:25SPEAKER_00: We don't stand on God's word like we're supposed to be.
- 18:28SPEAKER_00: And we need to get back to that.
- 18:30SPEAKER_00: We really do.
- 18:31SPEAKER_00: We need to get back to thinking about we do not know what the day is gonna bring, but we need to know right where we stand when it comes to eternity, so that we don't have to walk in that fear.
- 18:41SPEAKER_00: We can be free from that fear if we know where we are.
- 18:45SPEAKER_00: And if we're not participating in those things.
- 18:53SPEAKER_00: That doesn't mean we're not gonna be living in the world.
- 18:55SPEAKER_00: That just means we get to make choices that we don't have to partake in certain things of the world.
- 19:00SPEAKER_00: So um, I'm excited to see what the next verse is because I know that um as we dive into this, it it can be very, very detrimental.
- 19:15SPEAKER_00: And a lot of times I've even heard people say, well, whatever God chooses, if he sends me to hell, then that's what I get, that's what I deserve.
- 19:23SPEAKER_00: I'm telling you, you do not want to go there, you don't even want to think of going there.
- 19:28SPEAKER_00: We need to keep our eyes on God and eternity, on the heavens, the kingdom.
- 19:36SPEAKER_00: So I'm glad that we're talking about this because I feel like right now I have such a burden.
- 19:43SPEAKER_00: Like you said, uh a member of Congress, you know, just you know, instantly died.
- 19:48SPEAKER_00: And um we look at political figures, we look at our own families, we look at our friends, we look at like every every single day on the news, it's it's death, death, death, death, death.
- 19:59SPEAKER_00: It's like nothing but death.
- 20:00SPEAKER_00: It's almost there's so much death happening that it's just becoming like, oh well, who died today?
- 20:05SPEAKER_00: And you and I told my daughter this not too long ago.
- 20:07SPEAKER_00: I said, you know, I don't remember.
- 20:10SPEAKER_00: It's been a while since I've seen the flag, not at half mast.
- 20:16SPEAKER_00: Everywhere I go, the half flag is half mast because there's so much death going on.
- 20:20SPEAKER_00: I go, I really don't remember the last time it was fully raised.
- 20:23SPEAKER_00: And she's like, Wow, mom, me neither.
- 20:26SPEAKER_00: That's a really sad thing.
- 20:28SPEAKER_00: That's a kind of a sad thing.
- 20:30SPEAKER_00: So I and I think about it when we think about death, and I think about people when they die, where do they go?
- 20:37SPEAKER_00: Were they saved?
- 20:38SPEAKER_00: Did we share the gospel?
- 20:39SPEAKER_00: Did we give them the good news?
- 20:40SPEAKER_00: Did we tell them that there isn't there's a hope and a future beyond where we're at today, beyond where we're living today?
- 20:47SPEAKER_00: So let's continue on.
- 20:48SPEAKER_00: Let's dive in because I really could go really deep with this topic.
- 20:52SPEAKER_00: Um, but I know you have scripture to share.
- 20:54SPEAKER_00: That's that's really important that we still need to talk about and um um kind of break down and go through.
- 21:00SPEAKER_00: So, what is our next um scripture?
- 21:03SPEAKER_02: Yes, so the next scripture is 2 Corinthians chapter 6 and verse number two, 2 Corinthians 6, verse 2, which says, For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have a secret thee.
- 21:38SPEAKER_02: Behold now is the accepted time.
- 21:43SPEAKER_02: Behold now is the day of salvation.
- 21:53SPEAKER_00: What scripture are you reading?
- 21:56SPEAKER_02: Second Corinthians chapter.
- 22:01SPEAKER_00: I was in First Corinthians and I'm like, that's not what my response was saying.
- 22:05SPEAKER_00: So I was like, although this is really good, this is a really good scripture to go with it.
- 22:13SPEAKER_02: So excuse me.
- 22:22SPEAKER_02: Notice in that verse.
- 22:27SPEAKER_02: Now is the accepted time.
- 22:33SPEAKER_02: Like we've said already in this episode.
- 22:37SPEAKER_02: Not tomorrow.
- 22:39SPEAKER_02: Not next week.
- 22:42SPEAKER_02: Not months from now.
- 22:46SPEAKER_02: But now.
- 22:51SPEAKER_02: If you're already a Christian, are you burdened for your family?
- 23:01SPEAKER_02: Your friends.
- 23:05SPEAKER_02: Those who are not yet Christians.
- 23:11SPEAKER_02: If you're not yet a Christian, though.
- 23:19SPEAKER_02: May I lovingly encourage you to be obedient to this verse.
- 23:28SPEAKER_02: And seek out someone who can show you how to become a Christian.
- 23:45SPEAKER_02: Because there will I guarantee you one thousand percent and more that there will come a day when now is no more.
- 24:09SPEAKER_02: And so again we're not meaning to scare you, we're not meaning to shower down your throat.
- 24:26SPEAKER_02: But what we are meaning to do is to lovingly encourage you.
- 24:41SPEAKER_02: Be ready now.
- 24:45SPEAKER_02: Because you're you're listening to this, you're watching this.
- 24:51SPEAKER_02: You have right now.
- 24:55SPEAKER_02: You may not have after.
- 25:06SPEAKER_02: Again, not meant to scare or anything.
- 25:14SPEAKER_02: But just lovingly encouraging you that to be obedient to the source.
- 25:24SPEAKER_02: Because now is the time.
- 25:30SPEAKER_02: And so Mickey, what are your thoughts on this?
- 25:37SPEAKER_00: Well, I think you said it really clearly.
- 25:42SPEAKER_00: But um there's no better time than now, anyway.
- 25:46SPEAKER_00: There really isn't.
- 25:48SPEAKER_00: And um, if you if you're putting it off, if you're if you why not be secure?
- 25:54SPEAKER_00: Why not why not make the choice just to be secure, even if you're not fully understanding of it or sure.
- 26:01SPEAKER_00: You know, when we die, we something happens when we die.
- 26:04SPEAKER_00: You know, what is that?
- 26:05SPEAKER_00: I know we go in the ground, people go, oh, I just go back to being dirt, you know?
- 26:10SPEAKER_00: Yeah, your your physical body does.
- 26:12SPEAKER_00: Your spiritual body does not.
- 26:14SPEAKER_00: There is a spiritual realm.
- 26:17SPEAKER_00: And it's sad that some people actually don't believe in that.
- 26:21SPEAKER_00: They just believe we're dirt, you know, walking around.
- 26:23SPEAKER_00: We're just a bunch of dirt dust balls, you know.
- 26:26SPEAKER_00: But but there is more to it than that with our salvation.
- 26:31SPEAKER_00: And honestly, Bethany, I would rather be 100% wrong and go to heaven, you know, and be like, I got it wrong, and I've just become dirt, rather than to not be saved, you know, and get to heaven and find out there is there is an eternity.
- 26:51SPEAKER_00: You don't want to get to heaven, or you don't want to die and find out that what you believed in the whole time was wrong, and that you know, there is a God that we have to answer to.
- 27:03SPEAKER_00: There is a higher being.
- 27:05SPEAKER_00: I mean, God literally breathed existence out of his nostrils.
- 27:10SPEAKER_00: That is some powerful stuff.
- 27:13SPEAKER_00: It tells you all about it in Genesis.
- 27:15SPEAKER_00: You can read it for yourself.
- 27:16SPEAKER_00: The first chapter of Genesis is so powerful how the earth became, how man became, how we all became, how we're, you know, the in all of it.
- 27:26SPEAKER_00: It's all in the first chapter of Genesis.
- 27:30SPEAKER_00: But the destruction of Genesis is at the end is in Revelations.
- 27:35SPEAKER_00: So if you're not sure what God's plan is, you start in Genesis and work your way to Revelations.
- 27:41SPEAKER_00: But if you really want to know what God's doing, read Revelations.
- 27:45SPEAKER_00: It's going to shine some light on what's going to happen to the earth, what's going to happen to everything around us.
- 27:52SPEAKER_00: And we are not to be treading lightly.
- 27:57SPEAKER_00: We are to be being serious about it.
- 28:00SPEAKER_00: Um, that doesn't mean walk around in fear.
- 28:02SPEAKER_00: I'm not trying to be a fearmonger.
- 28:04SPEAKER_00: And I need people to understand there is a difference in being mature and serious in your walk, opposed to being, oh, I'm just terrified.
- 28:11SPEAKER_00: Okay, God doesn't want us to be terrified.
- 28:14SPEAKER_00: He wants us to be telling our loved ones, our family, our friends, hey, what's you know, where are you headed when when you pass away and you die, what's your what's your what's your plans?
- 28:24SPEAKER_00: What's your goal?
- 28:26SPEAKER_00: Where do you want to see yourself?
- 28:27SPEAKER_00: You know, I think it's a it's a pretty um important question to ask yourself.
- 28:34SPEAKER_00: Are you really ready for eternity?
- 28:37SPEAKER_00: Jesus is coming back anytime.
- 28:40SPEAKER_00: The prophecies are being fulfilled faster than they've ever been filled in the entire history of the Bible.
- 28:46SPEAKER_00: They're happening so rapidly now because Jesus is is preparing the bridegroom for his return.
- 28:57SPEAKER_00: But he's also been so merciful, and people say, oh, he's been doing that for 100 years, he's been doing that for the last 30 years, or the last five years, or the last year even.
- 29:08SPEAKER_00: He wants you to get prepared.
- 29:09SPEAKER_00: He doesn't want to leave you behind, but he will.
- 29:13SPEAKER_00: When the prophecies are fulfilled, he's going to come back like he said he's going to come back.
- 29:19SPEAKER_00: Ready or not, kind of like hide and seek, ready or not, here I come.
- 29:22SPEAKER_00: Jesus is coming, whether you're ready or not.
- 29:27SPEAKER_00: And guess what?
- 29:28SPEAKER_00: When he does come, you cannot hide from him.
- 29:31SPEAKER_00: There is no hiding, there's no place that he can't find you.
- 29:37SPEAKER_00: Might want to get ready.
- 29:38SPEAKER_00: And it starts with salvation.
- 29:41SPEAKER_00: Your eternity is hanging on to your salvation.
- 29:46SPEAKER_00: If you're not saved, get saved.
- 29:51SPEAKER_00: We have done the sinner's prayer, we have done um how to get saved, what that looks like, what what it means.
- 29:58SPEAKER_00: Um get saved, repent of your sins, and be ready.
- 30:04SPEAKER_00: I I I don't know if you've ever watched that movie.
- 30:07SPEAKER_00: Um, well, there's several of them now, but God's not dead.
- 30:10SPEAKER_00: Have you watched that series by chance, Bethany?
- 30:12SPEAKER_00: Any of those movies?
- 30:14SPEAKER_02: Not yet.
- 30:15SPEAKER_00: In the very first movie, it's a very touching movie.
- 30:18SPEAKER_00: I love it.
- 30:18SPEAKER_00: I love the whole all the whole series, it's good, but the first movie is my favorite, so still was and is will always be, because the message is so clear.
- 30:29SPEAKER_00: When the guy gets hit by a car at the end, or whatever, when he gets hit, I don't know what part of the movie, but he gets hit.
- 30:35SPEAKER_00: The reason he didn't die instantly is because he wasn't saved.
- 30:40SPEAKER_00: And the person that went out to help him was a pastor and led him to the Lord in his very last breath.
- 30:50SPEAKER_00: We don't want to be that person.
- 30:52SPEAKER_00: We don't want to be that person.
- 30:56SPEAKER_00: We want to already be saved, we want to be ready.
- 31:00SPEAKER_00: When we go do stuff, we get up and we get ready.
- 31:03SPEAKER_00: We get ready to go, you know, to weddings, we get ready to go to the movies, we get ready to go to dinner, we get ready to go to work, we get ready for so many things.
- 31:11SPEAKER_00: Why are we not getting ready for eternity?
- 31:16SPEAKER_00: We need to be prepared.
- 31:18SPEAKER_00: The word says be prepared in and out of season.
- 31:20SPEAKER_00: That means always have your oil lamps filled.
- 31:26SPEAKER_00: The ten people that didn't have the ten people that were that had oil lamps, five of them had oil, five of them did not.
- 31:32SPEAKER_00: The five that did not, you know, it would not a very good day for them.
- 31:38SPEAKER_00: But but you need to have your oil lamps full.
- 31:41SPEAKER_00: Be ready, be prepared.
- 31:43SPEAKER_00: And some people take that to the extreme.
- 31:45SPEAKER_00: They'll they'll take it to such an extreme where you know they're buying the whole supermarket.
- 31:50SPEAKER_00: I mean, I've seen people like fight over toilet paper.
- 31:53SPEAKER_00: Okay, remember COVID?
- 31:54SPEAKER_00: I literally seen people fight over a roll of toilet paper.
- 31:58SPEAKER_00: It was insane.
- 32:00SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 32:00SPEAKER_00: Um, I've seen I've seen stores actually raised their prices during COVID for people that needed to buy cases of water.
- 32:10SPEAKER_00: Cases of water went from like five to six dollars to like$30 a case.
- 32:17SPEAKER_00: Completely illegal, by the way.
- 32:19SPEAKER_00: But they were doing it because they knew that people were panicking and that they would pay that price.
- 32:25SPEAKER_00: Same with gas.
- 32:25SPEAKER_00: They did the same thing with gas.
- 32:27SPEAKER_00: A lot of stores they they price gouged and people panicked and they and they spent the money.
- 32:33SPEAKER_00: They thought, you know, we gotta we gotta have all of we have to have all the milk, all the eggs, all the water, all the toilet paper, all the whatever.
- 32:39SPEAKER_00: And what it taught, what COVID taught me was I don't need to run to the supermarket and buy the whole supermarket.
- 32:46SPEAKER_00: But over time, I need to have a little bit of a supply at least, so that if this does happen again, you know, we we have some preparation.
- 32:57SPEAKER_00: Eternity is the same thing.
- 32:59SPEAKER_00: We need to have that preparation.
- 33:01SPEAKER_00: We need to be ready for it.
- 33:03SPEAKER_00: We need to have our and not just not just our home, but our hearts.
- 33:07SPEAKER_00: Our hearts.
- 33:09SPEAKER_00: He looks at our hearts.
- 33:11SPEAKER_00: He's not gonna look at your situation, he's not gonna come in and look at your home and and how much food you got in your pantry.
- 33:17SPEAKER_00: Not that preparation.
- 33:18SPEAKER_00: He's looking at your heart preparation.
- 33:21SPEAKER_00: What are you doing for the kingdom?
- 33:23SPEAKER_00: Are you telling people time is of the essence?
- 33:28SPEAKER_00: It really is.
- 33:29SPEAKER_00: We we need to start remembering.
- 33:33SPEAKER_00: I don't want to get to heaven and look to my left or my right, and the people that I love the most not be there.
- 33:41SPEAKER_00: Even the people I don't love the most.
- 33:43SPEAKER_00: I want I want everyone to make it in.
- 33:45SPEAKER_00: We all want everyone to make it in.
- 33:47SPEAKER_00: Now, there's times in my life when I've I've actually looked over at a person and I thought, man, that person is in trouble.
- 33:53SPEAKER_00: That person's in trouble.
- 33:54SPEAKER_00: They need to get right with God because they're they're going down the path that they shouldn't be going down, you know.
- 34:02SPEAKER_00: And not that I should judge or not judge them.
- 34:06SPEAKER_00: The Bible actually says we can judge.
- 34:08SPEAKER_00: As saints, we are to judge people in their walk.
- 34:12SPEAKER_00: Because if we see someone struggling, it's our place to actually lead them to Christ.
- 34:17SPEAKER_00: The judgment isn't to punish, it's to lead them to salvation.
- 34:23SPEAKER_00: And it's funny because when I was when you're reading 2 Corinthians 6 2, I accidentally pulled up 1 Corinthians 6 2.
- 34:30SPEAKER_00: And let me tell you what this says, which is crazy.
- 34:33SPEAKER_00: It says, Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world?
- 34:37SPEAKER_00: And if the world shall judge, be judged by you, are you unworthy to judge the smallest matters?
- 34:43SPEAKER_00: Know ye not that we shall judge angels?
- 34:46SPEAKER_00: How much more things that pertain to this this life, this life?
- 34:53SPEAKER_00: We need to we need to think about eternity eternal judgment.
- 34:59SPEAKER_00: When I see this scripture with the scripture that you just shared, I think of our eternal judgment standing up in front of Jesus.
- 35:07SPEAKER_00: On that day, we will not have anybody there to vote for us, to back us, to to try to be like, but hey, I saw the whole thing or whatever.
- 35:19SPEAKER_00: We're not gonna have any witnesses other than ourselves.
- 35:22SPEAKER_00: There's not gonna be any bystanders on the day of salvation on judgment day when we stand before the Lord.
- 35:28SPEAKER_00: Everything that we do in our life, we will be accountable for on Judgment Day.
- 35:33SPEAKER_00: And if we're not ready for that, it's gonna be it's gonna be a long day for some people.
- 35:38SPEAKER_00: And I guarantee you that, you know, when they talk about the the tears that we're gonna be crying, the tears that are gonna be shed that day are gonna be for the ones that don't make it.
- 35:49SPEAKER_00: We're gonna be shedding many tears that day.
- 35:52SPEAKER_00: And it's scary when we think about it if you just have, I don't know if you've ever walked into a room and you ever wondered, I wonder how many of these people are going to heaven, and I wonder how many people of these people are going to hell.
- 36:06SPEAKER_00: It makes you want to start getting to work, you know, start sharing the love of Jesus.
- 36:11SPEAKER_00: And, you know, and it's not to condemn them for anything they've ever done wrong, because we've all done wrong, we've all sinned.
- 36:16SPEAKER_00: There's none of, and we won't be perfect even until we die.
- 36:20SPEAKER_00: You know, so accepting and and getting salvation is now.
- 36:25SPEAKER_00: Now is the day.
- 36:26SPEAKER_00: Like I said, don't wait till tomorrow.
- 36:28SPEAKER_00: Don't wait till later, don't wait till Sunday.
- 36:30SPEAKER_00: Don't wait till oh, I'm gonna do it when I go to bed.
- 36:32SPEAKER_00: If you're listening to the message, do it now.
- 36:35SPEAKER_00: Get saved right now.
- 36:36SPEAKER_00: It's not even hard.
- 36:39SPEAKER_00: Jesus made it so easy.
- 36:41SPEAKER_00: It wasn't easy for him, but he made it easy for us.
- 36:45SPEAKER_00: And we don't take advantage of that.
- 36:47SPEAKER_00: Sometimes people think it's too easy.
- 36:50SPEAKER_00: There's no way he could just save us just like that.
- 36:52SPEAKER_00: Well, he it wasn't easy for him.
- 36:55SPEAKER_00: He paid the ultimate price when he shed his blood.
- 36:59SPEAKER_00: It wasn't easy.
- 37:01SPEAKER_00: But he has given us an opportunity to make it easy for us today, right now.
- 37:07SPEAKER_00: So that this scripture is like really good.
- 37:10SPEAKER_00: And I know, I know you have more to share.
- 37:13SPEAKER_00: I'm trying to not keep not get on a tangent, but like I said in the beginning, this episode, it's really um, it's really concerning to me when I think about people that may not be going where we're going.
- 37:32SPEAKER_00: They're not on the same bus.
- 37:34SPEAKER_00: We're not following, we're not going the right direction.
- 37:37SPEAKER_00: And it it's sad on the on the other sense because we want to tell everyone about Jesus, but you know, Jesus, Jesus is alive and he's active.
- 37:48SPEAKER_00: And I know that people have heard about Jesus.
- 37:52SPEAKER_00: They have just chosen not to get saved.
- 37:56SPEAKER_00: And I hope that this message will encourage you to change your mind.
- 38:01SPEAKER_00: Because hell is a real place.
- 38:03SPEAKER_00: Eternity is a real place.
- 38:05SPEAKER_00: Heaven and hell do exist.
- 38:08SPEAKER_00: So, Bethany, what is the what is the next scripture that you're gonna you're gonna lead us into?
- 38:15SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 38:56SPEAKER_02: Starting with verse fifteen.
- 39:03SPEAKER_02: This passage from verse thirteen to verse twenty-one is once again Jesus is here on earth in his public ministry at that time, and he's talking to those who are there with him.
- 39:34SPEAKER_02: And so verse fifteen says, and he said unto them, take heed and beware of covetousness.
- 39:51SPEAKER_02: For a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.
- 40:03SPEAKER_02: And then verse nineteen.
- 40:22SPEAKER_02: Um we will probably do this whole passage um in another episode.
- 40:37SPEAKER_02: Maybe even make it into a series.
- 40:41SPEAKER_02: But verse nineteen says, and I will say to my soul Soul Though as much goods laid up for many years Take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry And then verse twenty says But God said unto him, Thou fool This night thy soul shall be required of thee.
- 41:28SPEAKER_02: And who's shall those things be which thou hast provided and so this passage is a great reminder for us, I believe.
- 41:53SPEAKER_02: We notice in verse fifteen how Jesus is emphasizing that it's not about what we possess in material sense our car, our house, clothes, none of that.
- 42:24SPEAKER_02: It's it's not about the abundance of things that we have that's as important as our spiritual life as important as where are we going to spend eternity and so and then verses nineteen and twenty Notice verse twenty how God refers to this man.
- 43:07SPEAKER_02: Would any one of us want to be named a fool by God Himself?
- 43:22SPEAKER_02: There's a verse in Psalms I cannot recall the reference at this time, but talking about the fool has said in his heart there is no God.
- 43:48SPEAKER_02: Um just sit with that for a minute for a while.
- 44:38SPEAKER_02: What's important to you right now?
- 44:48SPEAKER_02: Are the things that you own are the things that you want more important than your soul?
- 45:00SPEAKER_02: Your spirit.
- 45:03SPEAKER_02: Are they more important than the person who has outward actions that are not what they should be?
- 45:21SPEAKER_02: Meaning they're not doing what is right.
- 45:29SPEAKER_02: Are your possessions more important than that?
- 45:37SPEAKER_02: Or like me.
- 45:45SPEAKER_02: You have a strong burden and desire to see as many people as possible.
- 45:57SPEAKER_02: Become Christians.
- 46:03SPEAKER_02: You don't you don't judge them by their outward actions, but you look at them as souls.
- 46:18SPEAKER_02: God himself created.
- 46:21SPEAKER_02: And God himself wants to be with him for all of eternity.
- 46:44SPEAKER_02: I do think we will somehow make this into a serious because we both do have a burden for everyone to become aggression.
- 47:13SPEAKER_02: Not to as I've said my encouraging if you're not a Christian yet.
- 47:35SPEAKER_02: If your family or your friends are not Christians yet.
- 47:45SPEAKER_04: Don't wait.
- 47:53SPEAKER_02: Like Proverbs 271.
- 48:00SPEAKER_02: We don't know what a day may be for.
- 48:06SPEAKER_02: You or your family or your friends may wake up.
- 48:15SPEAKER_02: Fine.
- 48:18SPEAKER_02: Absolutely nothing concerning.
- 48:23SPEAKER_02: By the end of the day.
- 48:27SPEAKER_02: Something may happen.
- 48:31SPEAKER_02: And you were there.
- 48:36SPEAKER_02: May not be here.
- 48:39SPEAKER_02: And so as we finish up today's episode, I invite you.
- 48:51SPEAKER_02: I encourage you to be obedient.
- 49:05SPEAKER_02: And he's a fool.
- 49:19SPEAKER_02: Because that person.
- 49:25SPEAKER_02: He was living for abundance of things.
- 49:31SPEAKER_02: His soul and his spirit.
- 49:37SPEAKER_02: As lost.
- 49:40SPEAKER_02: As lost could be.
- 49:44SPEAKER_02: So Mickey, what are your closing thoughts on that?
- 49:52SPEAKER_00: I want to I want to dive in a little bit more to Luke 12 because Luke 12, 21, following what it says, in 20 it says, But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy shall be required of thee.
- 50:08SPEAKER_00: Then who shall those things be which thou hast provided?
- 50:13SPEAKER_00: And then in 21 it says, So he, so is he that layeth up treasure for himself and is not rich towards God.
- 50:21SPEAKER_00: When we're talking about treasure, when I think about the word treasure, what is a treasure to God?
- 50:27SPEAKER_00: We are.
- 50:28SPEAKER_00: We are the treasure to God, not our possessions, not our house, our car, like you mentioned, not our clothes, not money, not how much, you know, what good I've done in the world to, you know, to get acceptance and and and you know, to please people.
- 50:48SPEAKER_00: What are God's treasures?
- 50:51SPEAKER_00: We are the bride, the bride of the church, like I mentioned in the beginning.
- 50:55SPEAKER_00: The treasures are us.
- 50:57SPEAKER_00: So if you think about, if you're going around and you're collecting treasures like new cars and a nice house and yada yada yada yada yada, and you're leaving the people behind, you're leaving God's most prized treasures behind.
- 51:14SPEAKER_00: God doesn't want you to show up at the gate with all of these things that you acquired based off of a dollar bill, or off of how hard and how many hours you worked to prove a point to whatever you're trying to prove a point to.
- 51:28SPEAKER_00: I'm very non-materialistic.
- 51:31SPEAKER_00: Somebody walks into my house and sees something that they like or want, I'd more than likely give it to you.
- 51:35SPEAKER_00: Like I, you know, I'm the kind of person that I will give you the shirt off my back.
- 51:39SPEAKER_00: I don't have a problem with that.
- 51:41SPEAKER_00: If you're hungry, I'm gonna feed you.
- 51:42SPEAKER_00: If you're thirsty, I'm gonna give you something to drink.
- 51:45SPEAKER_00: We're supposed to be taking care of each other, one another.
- 51:48SPEAKER_00: We are the we are the treasures.
- 51:51SPEAKER_00: We're supposed to take care of each other.
- 51:54SPEAKER_00: But what I see in the world is we're not, we're fighting each other, we're going against each other, and we're trying to see who can outdo how many people, you know.
- 52:03SPEAKER_00: How many, you know, can I outdo them?
- 52:05SPEAKER_00: Can they outdo me?
- 52:06SPEAKER_00: I'm not gonna let them outdo me because I'm gonna outdo them.
- 52:08SPEAKER_00: It's not a competition, folks.
- 52:11SPEAKER_00: God doesn't give you a number based on, you know, you know, a competition.
- 52:16SPEAKER_00: Now, I know there's gonna be rewards in heaven.
- 52:20SPEAKER_00: Some of us are gonna get rewarded in heaven for the things that we did for God on earth, not for ourselves on earth.
- 52:28SPEAKER_00: How many treasures are we bringing to heaven with us?
- 52:31SPEAKER_00: How many people are following us?
- 52:33SPEAKER_00: Think about the Pied Piper.
- 52:35SPEAKER_00: You know, when he plays the pipe, and all of them, the rats or whatever they are following them around.
- 52:39SPEAKER_00: You know, when we get when we get to heaven, we we want to have all these people that are that are going to the kingdom with us, that we're lead we're helping lead to the kingdom and encouraging.
- 52:48SPEAKER_00: And that's what this podcast is about.
- 52:50SPEAKER_00: It's about talking about the truth and the word of God and sharing with you how how vital it is.
- 52:56SPEAKER_00: It it it's it's so important that we understand that salvation is crucial.
- 53:05SPEAKER_00: It's crucial.
- 53:08SPEAKER_00: And it says, you know, we are to start living it out here on earth as we would live it in heaven.
- 53:17SPEAKER_00: That's salvation.
- 53:19SPEAKER_00: So if you're not saved today, I encourage you to get saved.
- 53:22SPEAKER_00: I encourage you to ask God into your heart.
- 53:25SPEAKER_00: I encourage you to ask for repentance of your sins.
- 53:28SPEAKER_00: Like I said, it's not it's not hard at all.
- 53:33SPEAKER_00: Jesus simplified it for us the day he went to the cross.
- 53:38SPEAKER_00: You are validated, you are accepted, you are loved, you are wanted, and you are worthy.
- 53:44SPEAKER_00: Because Jesus made a way.
- 53:48SPEAKER_00: He made the only and ultimate way.
- 53:51SPEAKER_00: Because the scripture even says that you cannot get to the Father except through Jesus Christ.
- 53:57SPEAKER_00: That doesn't mean you get to just skip past Jesus and run right to God and be like, okay, God, here I am.
- 54:05SPEAKER_00: You better have some evidence that Jesus is in your life.
- 54:08SPEAKER_00: And none of us are perfect, but we need the evidence that we believe in Jesus.
- 54:16SPEAKER_00: Even the enemy believes in Jesus.
- 54:19SPEAKER_00: Matter of fact, he even trembles at his very name.
- 54:23SPEAKER_00: The enemy, the ruler of the world, trembles at the very name of Jesus.
- 54:28SPEAKER_00: Why aren't we trembling?
- 54:32SPEAKER_00: We should tremble if we have the inclination at all that we are without him.
- 54:38SPEAKER_00: That should be enough to make us open our eyes and say, you know what, Jesus, I need you.
- 54:43SPEAKER_00: I need you above and before and always, before anything else, Jesus, we need you.
- 54:52SPEAKER_00: And we need to think about that and just really um sit and ponder on it because it's important that we understand we're not going to go to eternity if we do not have Jesus Christ.
- 55:04SPEAKER_00: I cannot emphasize this enough.
- 55:06SPEAKER_00: I know Bethany cannot emphasize this enough.
- 55:08SPEAKER_00: You're not going to go to heaven if you do not have Jesus.
- 55:14SPEAKER_00: It's kind of like you can't drive down the road if you don't have the keys to your car.
- 55:19SPEAKER_00: You know?
- 55:22SPEAKER_00: You want to have the keys.
- 55:23SPEAKER_00: Jesus gave us the keys to the kingdom.
- 55:27SPEAKER_00: And he wants us to have it in abundance, like we talked about in our last series.
- 55:31SPEAKER_00: The exceedingly in abundantly.
- 55:33SPEAKER_00: He wants us to have everything abundantly.
- 55:35SPEAKER_00: The reason we don't is because we don't have Jesus.
- 55:38SPEAKER_00: We don't, we've we've forgotten who Jesus is.
- 55:42SPEAKER_00: We need to bring Jesus back.
- 55:44SPEAKER_00: You know?
- 55:46SPEAKER_00: And oh man, the burden, the burden that's there.
- 55:53SPEAKER_00: It's just it's heavy.
- 55:55SPEAKER_00: I don't know about you, Beth, but it's just heavy.
- 55:59SPEAKER_00: And not for me.
- 56:00SPEAKER_00: I'm not heavy for me.
- 56:01SPEAKER_00: I'm heavy for those that are not seeking out Jesus.
- 56:06SPEAKER_00: Those that do not have Jesus yet.
- 56:08SPEAKER_00: But the good news is, right now there's still time.
- 56:13SPEAKER_00: But don't wait till Sunday.
- 56:15SPEAKER_00: Don't wait till you go to bed.
- 56:16SPEAKER_00: Don't wait.
- 56:17SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna I'm gonna give it an hour, you know.
- 56:20SPEAKER_00: We're not marinating and stewing in it.
- 56:22SPEAKER_00: We need to, we need to be serious about it.
- 56:24SPEAKER_00: We need to think about it.
- 56:25SPEAKER_00: We need to do it now.
- 56:27SPEAKER_00: So, in closing, I want to encourage, and I'm going to, I want to, I want to say the sinner's prayer today because I want to make sure that you understand how simple it is.
- 56:37SPEAKER_00: It's so easy.
- 56:39SPEAKER_00: And Bethany and I, when we get to heaven, we want you to be there.
- 56:44SPEAKER_00: When we stand before God, we want to see you there standing there too.
- 56:49SPEAKER_00: We don't want to be crying tears because you got cast into hell.
- 56:54SPEAKER_00: We don't want that.
- 56:56SPEAKER_00: And there is a there is a lake and there is a pit.
- 56:59SPEAKER_00: So there are two different places, by the way, of hell.
- 57:02SPEAKER_00: We'll one of these days dive into that and we'll we'll break that down for you.
- 57:06SPEAKER_00: Um, because I've had people ask me, well, what's the difference between the lake of fire and pit of hell?
- 57:10SPEAKER_00: They are two different places.
- 57:11SPEAKER_00: You don't want either one of them.
- 57:13SPEAKER_00: So if you're even considering it, one is not better than the other.
- 57:16SPEAKER_00: Just to let you know.
- 57:18SPEAKER_00: There is no better than the other on that on that spectrum.
- 57:21SPEAKER_00: Just if if that's even a thought in your mind, let's just take care of that right now.
- 57:25SPEAKER_00: But let's let's go to God and let's just ask Him to forgive us and to help us.
- 57:30SPEAKER_00: And if you are not saved, I encourage you to just say the prayer with me.
- 57:36SPEAKER_00: Say it with me.
- 57:37SPEAKER_00: Follow along, say it with me.
- 57:40SPEAKER_00: And this is not a prayer that you have to say over and over and over and over and over and over and over again.
- 57:46SPEAKER_00: You need to trust and believe that God's word is true and he means it.
- 57:51SPEAKER_00: You're not, he's not going to give you the lollipop and then yank it out of your mouth and be like, oh, not today.
- 57:56SPEAKER_00: You were bad.
- 57:57SPEAKER_00: Sorry.
- 58:00SPEAKER_00: He chases after us.
- 58:02SPEAKER_00: He chases us, he wants us, he loves us.
- 58:05SPEAKER_00: So we need to be very mindful in thinking about that and understand that once we pray this, the salvation prayer, we're saved for eternity.
- 58:18SPEAKER_00: From this moment on, not for the next few moments, not for the next hour, not for the next week, from this moment on, forever.
- 58:27SPEAKER_00: The only time in history in our lives where we get to have an eternal experience is salvation.
- 58:36SPEAKER_00: It's the only thing in our life that will follow us through.
- 58:41SPEAKER_00: Everything else goes away.
- 58:43SPEAKER_00: Our flesh, our possessions, everything.
- 58:46SPEAKER_00: The only thing that will follow us is our salvation because it's our ticket into eternity or into heaven.
- 58:55SPEAKER_00: So let's let's pray together, you guys.
- 58:57SPEAKER_00: All right, Father God, Lord, I just thank you so much for for the scripture today, Lord.
- 59:02SPEAKER_00: I thank you for your word.
- 59:02SPEAKER_00: I thank your word.
- 59:03SPEAKER_00: Thank you for your word always just being just real clear and and evident, God.
- 59:08SPEAKER_00: And Lord, I just thank you that we don't have to beg.
- 59:12SPEAKER_00: We don't have to beg you, Lord, to to take us to heaven.
- 59:15SPEAKER_00: You already want to take us to heaven.
- 59:17SPEAKER_00: You desire us.
- 59:18SPEAKER_00: We are your treasures, Lord.
- 59:21SPEAKER_00: Above everything else on this in this world or on this earth, we matter more than anything else.
- 59:27SPEAKER_00: Lord, I just pray that anyone listening to the sound of my voice right now, that's that's listening to this episode or watching, Lord, I just pray that you encourage them to follow along in prayer, Lord, as we as we say the sinner's or the salvation prayer, not the sinner's prayer, salvation prayer, Lord.
- 59:44SPEAKER_00: Um many people call it the sinner's prayer, Lord, but once you are saved, you're no longer a sinner.
- 59:49SPEAKER_00: We long for salvation.
- 59:51SPEAKER_00: Lord, I just I just thank you so much for what you did on the cross.
- 59:54SPEAKER_00: Thank you for giving us your son who walked the path, who took the beatings, who bled, who was pierced, who was thorn and nailed to a cross for us.
- 1:00:06SPEAKER_00: We didn't deserve it, Lord, but we thank you for doing it, Lord.
- 1:00:09SPEAKER_00: We thank you for making an easy way for us to be able to go to heaven.
- 1:00:13SPEAKER_00: So Lord, I just want to pray this prayer with everyone that's listening.
- 1:00:16SPEAKER_00: God, I just really, Lord, I just ask that you just open up hearts and ears right now, Lord.
- 1:00:21SPEAKER_00: So Lord, I just pray that, Lord, you just send your son Jesus, send your son Jesus to come into our hearts, Lord.
- 1:00:28SPEAKER_00: And I ask that you just forgive us of our sins.
- 1:00:31SPEAKER_00: Help us to recognize who Jesus is and what Jesus did that day on the cross for us.
- 1:00:37SPEAKER_00: Well, Lord, for me, I know what Jesus did for me.
- 1:00:40SPEAKER_00: I couldn't save myself, so Jesus did it for me.
- 1:00:43SPEAKER_00: He took the place.
- 1:00:44SPEAKER_00: He took the place of everything I've ever done wrong in my life.
- 1:00:47SPEAKER_00: Lord, I thank you for that.
- 1:00:49SPEAKER_00: And I just pray that anyone listening or watching, that they can just pray along.
- 1:00:54SPEAKER_00: And Lord, that they just understand that it's so easy, just accept Jesus and believe in your heart.
- 1:01:00SPEAKER_00: You have to believe it in your heart that it's true.
- 1:01:03SPEAKER_00: And I do believe in you, God.
- 1:01:05SPEAKER_00: I do believe that Jesus did come to this earth.
- 1:01:07SPEAKER_00: He walked this earth and he suffered a great death for my life.
- 1:01:13SPEAKER_00: And I'm glad that my life is eternal.
- 1:01:16SPEAKER_00: It's not just temporary here on earth.
- 1:01:18SPEAKER_00: It's eternal, Lord.
- 1:01:20SPEAKER_00: And I thank you for eternity.
- 1:01:21SPEAKER_00: I thank you for all of the blessings you bestowed upon us.
- 1:01:24SPEAKER_00: I thank you for this podcast.
- 1:01:25SPEAKER_00: I thank you for Bethany.
- 1:01:27SPEAKER_00: I thank you for all of our listeners that watch and follow along and share this message because our message today is to share the message of hope that you've given us the gospels, Lord.
- 1:01:38SPEAKER_00: We want to share the gospel of Jesus.
- 1:01:40SPEAKER_00: We thank you, Lord.
- 1:01:41SPEAKER_00: We love you.
- 1:01:41SPEAKER_00: We ask that you watch over and protect us.
- 1:01:43SPEAKER_00: Keep us safe as we as we encounter the as the times get close, Lord.
- 1:01:47SPEAKER_00: We know Jesus is returning.
- 1:01:49SPEAKER_00: Lord, just help us to be prepared in and out of season.
- 1:01:52SPEAKER_00: Help us to fill up our oil lamps.
- 1:01:54SPEAKER_00: Lord, we thank you for all your blessings and we love you.
- 1:01:57SPEAKER_00: In Jesus' name I pray, amen.
- 1:02:00SPEAKER_00: So great, I mean, there's no greater message than Jesus.
- 1:02:05SPEAKER_00: There's no greater hope at all.
- 1:02:08SPEAKER_00: And um He has so much good for us.
- 1:02:11SPEAKER_00: There's so much goodness.
- 1:02:12SPEAKER_00: And I know when we look out, we look out the window and we look at the TV and we look at our phones, and there's so much going on in the world.
- 1:02:22SPEAKER_00: We can be secure in our foundation through our salvation, that foundation of hope.
- 1:02:29SPEAKER_00: He loves you guys.
- 1:02:30SPEAKER_00: He loves each and every one of you.
- 1:02:31SPEAKER_00: Loves me, loves Bethany.
- 1:02:33SPEAKER_00: And I'm excited about that.
- 1:02:35SPEAKER_00: I don't know about you, but I get excited.
- 1:02:37SPEAKER_00: Get excited about it.
- 1:02:39SPEAKER_00: I mean, yeah, you go outside and it could be raining cats and dogs, and I still can smile.
- 1:02:44SPEAKER_00: Like, you know, I'm watching the whole world come apart, and I'm I'm still just thankful.
- 1:02:49SPEAKER_00: I'm in awe, you know.
- 1:02:50SPEAKER_00: I we had a storm come through the this last week, and the cloud, the cloud in the distance was so big, it looked like a gigantic tornado coming our way.
- 1:03:00SPEAKER_00: I really wasn't sure what was gonna come out of this cloud.
- 1:03:03SPEAKER_00: And I thought, oh, you know, and I kept I kept looking at it and watching it as it kind of moved, and then it started to separate and it just kind of lingered over, and we had like five drops of rain, and then it was hot and muggy, and that was the end of the cloud.
- 1:03:14SPEAKER_00: But I didn't worry about it.
- 1:03:16SPEAKER_00: I think, oh my gosh, look at that cloud, it could be very dangerous.
- 1:03:19SPEAKER_00: I didn't freak out because I know who God is.
- 1:03:21SPEAKER_00: We had another storm, we've had a storm almost every day this week.
- 1:03:24SPEAKER_00: We had a a crazy, crazy hail storm that the hell was coming five different directions.
- 1:03:30SPEAKER_00: It was coming down.
- 1:03:32SPEAKER_00: Like you, you don't know where to run because it's coming at you five different ways.
- 1:03:36SPEAKER_00: It was hitting the house and and the rooftop so hard I thought it was gonna put holes and damage the roof.
- 1:03:41SPEAKER_00: It was really crazy.
- 1:03:42SPEAKER_00: And then it had a torrential downpour.
- 1:03:44SPEAKER_00: This downpour was just it was just a crazy downpour.
- 1:03:47SPEAKER_00: And only lasted a few minutes.
- 1:03:48SPEAKER_00: And I was, and you know what I remember saying, thank you, Lord, for that, because you know, now I don't have to water my garden.
- 1:03:53SPEAKER_00: He did it for me.
- 1:03:54SPEAKER_00: I was so happy, I was excited, I was like, it's raining, it's raining now, you know.
- 1:03:58SPEAKER_00: But on the flip side of that, you know, it could be terrifying when we're not sure what God's doing.
- 1:04:05SPEAKER_00: You know, we just have to trust.
- 1:04:07SPEAKER_00: It says trust and obey.
- 1:04:08SPEAKER_00: I don't know if you guys have ever heard that song.
- 1:04:10SPEAKER_00: When I grew up in elementary school, I heard that song, trust and obey.
- 1:04:14SPEAKER_00: If you haven't heard of it, look it up.
- 1:04:15SPEAKER_00: It's it's it's it's a kid's song, but it's it's a very meaningful, powerful song, and it really encourages you to just have faith in God.
- 1:04:23SPEAKER_00: All you need is the faith of a mustard seed.
- 1:04:26SPEAKER_00: So, Bethany, thank you for for the message today.
- 1:04:28SPEAKER_00: Is there anything you'd like to add before we say goodbye to all of our listeners today?
- 1:04:36SPEAKER_02: You know, Second Timothy one seven says that God doesn't give us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love, and of a sound of mind.
- 1:05:01SPEAKER_02: Remember that.
- 1:05:06SPEAKER_02: Don't live in fear, understand where fear comes from.
- 1:05:15SPEAKER_02: Yes, God gives us healthy fear, but that unhealthy fear comes from Satan.
- 1:05:29SPEAKER_02: And so remember that as well.
- 1:05:32SPEAKER_00: So that's a good scripture.
- 1:05:35SPEAKER_00: Um, that's the scripture I encourage people to write down and post it throughout your house because it is a reminder as we're dealing with fear, is a stronghold, too, by the way.
- 1:05:44SPEAKER_00: That is probably the most powerful stronghold that we face in our life.
- 1:05:48SPEAKER_00: Um, above all other strongholds that we we we have, fear is attached to every other stronghold out there.
- 1:05:55SPEAKER_00: And we are to have fear of the Lord, but not be afraid of the Lord.
- 1:06:00SPEAKER_00: A difference in that fear.
- 1:06:02SPEAKER_00: There's a difference in that fear.
- 1:06:04SPEAKER_00: The fear of the Lord is not having Him and having to face hell.
- 1:06:10SPEAKER_00: The fear of the Lord that's healthy and good is knowing that when you're obedient and you're following what God has, He has eternity for you.
- 1:06:19SPEAKER_00: That is part of getting prepared.
- 1:06:22SPEAKER_00: That is the preparedness.
- 1:06:24SPEAKER_00: With the question that we asked in the very beginning, with the title of this message, Are You Ready for Eternity?
- 1:06:31SPEAKER_00: Ask yourself this question.
- 1:06:34SPEAKER_00: Are you saved?
- 1:06:35SPEAKER_00: Are you ready for eternity?
- 1:06:36SPEAKER_00: Are you saved?
- 1:06:37SPEAKER_00: Are you ready for eternity?
- 1:06:39SPEAKER_00: The most supernatural thing you can have here on earth is your salvation.
- 1:06:43SPEAKER_00: And I encourage you, I do encourage you to really think about it.
- 1:06:50SPEAKER_00: And if you are saved, what are you doing with that salvation?
- 1:06:54SPEAKER_00: Are you just keeping it for yourself or are you sharing it with others?
- 1:06:59SPEAKER_00: I don't want to get to heaven and be the only treasure that shows up on my behalf for God.
- 1:07:05SPEAKER_00: Because that's kind of a selfish, selfish act, I think.
- 1:07:08SPEAKER_00: But I think for myself, that's just me speaking.
- 1:07:11SPEAKER_00: But I don't want to get to heaven and not have that happen.
- 1:07:14SPEAKER_00: But I want to be there and I want it to be because I'm so excited about Jesus that I get, you know, other people can come along.
- 1:07:21SPEAKER_00: We can do it together.
- 1:07:24SPEAKER_00: So think about it.
- 1:07:26SPEAKER_00: Think about it.
- 1:07:26SPEAKER_00: And if you are a Christian, start talking to people that you love.
- 1:07:30SPEAKER_00: Don't be afraid to ask.
- 1:07:33SPEAKER_00: It can be one of those awkward moments, but you know what?
- 1:07:36SPEAKER_00: Ask anyway.
- 1:07:37SPEAKER_00: And ask God to help you through it.
- 1:07:39SPEAKER_00: I've had actually had to help God in teaching me how to do certain things because I was afraid to speak up sometimes.
- 1:07:47SPEAKER_00: And then sometimes God would just open my mouth, I didn't even know where the words were coming from.
- 1:07:50SPEAKER_00: I didn't even know what was going on because God was just using me.
- 1:07:52SPEAKER_00: I was a tool.
- 1:07:53SPEAKER_00: And I thought, I don't know what just happened, but I think God just used me just now.
- 1:07:56SPEAKER_00: But then there's other times where I lacked the confidence and the wisdom, and God gave it to me.
- 1:08:02SPEAKER_00: Just ask and pray.
- 1:08:03SPEAKER_00: Seek him out.
- 1:08:04SPEAKER_00: He will give you all things that we need.
- 1:08:06SPEAKER_00: He is the provider of everything that we need.
- 1:08:10SPEAKER_00: From start to finish, from Genesis to Revelation, He's gonna provide it.
- 1:08:14SPEAKER_00: So He is the way.
- 1:08:15SPEAKER_00: He is the way, the truth, and the life.
- 1:08:18SPEAKER_00: So I thank everyone for being here today.
- 1:08:20SPEAKER_00: This has been another great episode of Truth Be Told.
- 1:08:22SPEAKER_00: Great scripture.
- 1:08:23SPEAKER_00: Thank you again, Bethany, for always having such a good word come to our platform here.
- 1:08:29SPEAKER_00: And please make sure you like, follow, and share.
- 1:08:32SPEAKER_00: And um share the Word of God.
- 1:08:34SPEAKER_00: Share Jesus.
- 1:08:36SPEAKER_00: You know, we're supposed to love one another.
- 1:08:38SPEAKER_00: And I'm telling you, when you when you when you arm up with the person beside you, in front of you, behind you, and you arm up with Christians, there's so much power in that love, and there's so much power in having the sound mind of the unity that we have with standing behind Jesus Christ.
- 1:08:56SPEAKER_00: So I do encourage you to listen to this.
- 1:08:59SPEAKER_00: If you if you're if you have to, listen to it twice.
- 1:09:03SPEAKER_00: Try to understand.
- 1:09:04SPEAKER_00: If you're not saved, pray the prayer.
- 1:09:07SPEAKER_00: Just it's a simple prayer.
- 1:09:09SPEAKER_00: Get ready.
- 1:09:10SPEAKER_00: Get yourself ready.
- 1:09:12SPEAKER_00: It's the best trip you'll ever have, I guarantee you, in life.
- 1:09:17SPEAKER_00: Um, it may take it does take us our whole entire life to like prepare for it.
- 1:09:21SPEAKER_00: We need to continually be preparing for eternity.
- 1:09:26SPEAKER_00: And for me, I don't want to take that trip alone.
- 1:09:28SPEAKER_00: So um, thank you everyone for listening.
- 1:09:31SPEAKER_00: I hope you have a blessed day and um be safe out there and take care.
- 1:09:36SPEAKER_00: And don't forget to um if you have any questions, let us know.
- 1:09:40SPEAKER_00: Don't be afraid to ask.
- 1:09:41SPEAKER_00: So we love you, and again, Bethany, thank you.
