- Lucas: Hey Luna, ready for another episode of Learn Danish with Fexingo? Luna: Yeah, I'm excited! What are we doing today? Lucas: Today, I thought we'd revisit a scene we touched on in Episode 3: a morning at the bakery. But this time, we'll tell it as a tiny story—no new phrases, just using the ones we've already learned. Luna: Oh, that sounds cozy. I love bakeries. So, who's in the story? Lucas: Let's set the scene. It's early morning, and a woman named Mette walks into a small bakery near her apartment. She's a regular. The baker, Lars, is behind the counter. Luna: Okay, I'm picturing it. Lucas: So Mette walks in, and she sees Lars. She smiles and says, 'Hej, god morgen!' Luna: Hej, god morgen! That's from Episode 1, right? Lucas: Exactly. Good morning greeting. Luna: And then Lars probably says something back? Lucas: He does. He says, 'God morgen, Mette. Hvordan har du det?' Luna: Hvordan har du det? How are you? Lucas: Right. And Mette replies, 'Fint, tak. Og du?' Luna: Fint, tak. And then—what's 'og du'? Lucas: 'And you?' She's returning the question. Luna: Ah, got it. So Lars would say, 'Også fint, tak.' Lucas: Perfect. So they've done the greetings. Now Mette wants to order. She points to a loaf of rye bread and says, 'Jeg vil gerne have et rugbrød, tak.' Luna: Whoa, that's new! I thought we weren't learning new phrases? Lucas: We're not—this is just for the story. But we can focus on the part she says next: 'Tak.' Because after Lars hands her the bread, she says 'Tak.' Luna: Okay, so she says 'tak' to thank him. That we know from Episode 6. Lucas: Exactly. And then Lars says, 'Vær så venlig.' But in a bakery, that means 'here you go.' Luna: Oh, 'vær så venlig' in that context. Nice. Lucas: So now Mette has her bread. She pays, and as she's leaving, she turns and says, 'Tak for i dag. Vi ses!' Luna: Vi ses! See you! From Episode 4. Lucas: Right. And Lars waves and says, 'Vi ses, Mette! Ha' en god dag!' Luna: Ha' en god dag—that's new too! Lucas: But 'god' we've seen in 'god morgen.' It's just 'have a good day.' But we don't need to learn it today. Luna: Okay, so the story ends with her leaving. That was lovely. So we heard 'hej, god morgen', 'hvordan har du det?', 'fint, tak', 'vi ses', and 'tak'. Lucas: Yes, and 'vær så venlig' from Episode 6 as well. Luna: That's a lot packed into a tiny scene. Can we practice a few? Lucas: Sure. Let's start with the greeting. Say it like Mette: 'Hej, god morgen!' Luna: Hej, god morgen! Lucas: Good. Now I'll be Lars: 'God morgen. Hvordan har du det?' Luna: Fint, tak. Og du? Lucas: Også fint, tak. Perfect. Luna: And then I'd say 'vi ses' as I leave? Lucas: Exactly. Try it. Luna: Vi ses, Lucas! Lucas: Vi ses, Luna! Ha' en god dag! Luna: Ah, that felt natural. I love when a story brings all the phrases together. Lucas: That's the idea. And remember, you can use these in any bakery in Denmark. Or any shop, really. Luna: I'll definitely try that next time I'm at a bakery. Maybe not in Denmark, but I'll pretend. Lucas: That's the spirit. So to wrap up, we've revisited 'hej, god morgen', 'hvordan har du det?', 'fint, tak', 'vi ses', 'tak', and 'vær så venlig'. All from previous episodes. Luna: And I feel more confident with them now. Thanks, Lucas. Lucas: You're welcome. Thanks for joining us on Learn Danish with Fexingo. Keep practicing these phrases, and we'll see you next time. Luna: Vi ses!
