Schools across Central Alabama are delaying their 2026-27 start dates, with most kicking off between August 5th and 13th—up to six days later than last year. Alabaster, Boaz, Greene County, Pell City, Pelham, and Shelby County are all starting on August 13th, while Piedmont City moves up three days. Birmingham and Tuscaloosa begin on the 10th, and Cullman and Cullman County on the 11th.
