- 0:00Speaker 1: You're listening to Bill Handle on demand from KFI AM
- 0:04Speaker 1: six forty.
- 0:10Speaker 2: The only time I am not in favor of license
- 0:13Speaker 2: plate readers, and this one really gets my eyre up
- 0:17Speaker 2: is those license plate readers that read your license at
- 0:20Speaker 2: toll booths. I hate those. Those should be illegal going
- 0:25Speaker 2: through toll booths, those toll roods where they read your
- 0:28Speaker 2: license plate. And if you don't pay, or you don't
- 0:30Speaker 2: have a prepaid card.
- 0:32Speaker 3: You're screwed.
- 0:33Speaker 1: You're a man of ethics in standup complete hypocrisy, and
- 0:37Speaker 1: now handle on the news, ladies and gentlemen. Here's Bill Handle.
- 0:45Speaker 2: It is a Tuesday morning, July fourteenth, morning, everybody, and
- 0:52Speaker 2: we start another day.
- 0:53Speaker 3: The heat wave. I looked up this morning. You didn't
- 0:56Speaker 3: go outside? Amy is the heat? Has the heat arrived?
- 1:01Speaker 4: It has not arrived yet. We are under a heat
- 1:04Speaker 4: advisory until ten am, and then we do have an
- 1:07Speaker 4: extreme heat warning that starts at ten And it's going
- 1:10Speaker 4: to be hot and muggy today.
- 1:13Speaker 2: Okay, and so we well, the East Coast is getting
- 1:17Speaker 2: crazy New York one hundred degrees and humid. And that's
- 1:21Speaker 2: the other fun thing about the East Coast when it
- 1:25Speaker 2: is hot as hell and Let's not forget the humidity.
- 1:28Speaker 1: Oh it's great. It brings out all the urine smell.
- 1:31Speaker 2: Yeah, and let's not forget the bugs the size of
- 1:34Speaker 2: your fist that come out and fly around.
- 1:37Speaker 3: Just wonderful. This is when you want to move.
- 1:42Speaker 2: That's why I can't stand the Rose Parade. Every year,
- 1:45Speaker 2: the Rose Parade is broadcast and is broadcast throughout the country,
- 1:49Speaker 2: probably throughout the world.
- 1:51Speaker 3: And it's here. We are seventy two degrees.
- 1:53Speaker 2: Mostly during the Rose Parade, and people in upstate New
- 1:57Speaker 2: York January first are freezing.
- 1:59Speaker 3: It's twelve below zero. There's snow up to the eaves
- 2:02Speaker 3: of the house.
- 2:04Speaker 2: And how many people decide, Okay, we're moving to southern
- 2:06Speaker 2: California enough.
- 2:08Speaker 1: Already, didn't They used to call that the greatest commercial
- 2:11Speaker 1: for southern California.
- 2:13Speaker 3: Oh yeah, it's just it is just got off.
- 2:16Speaker 4: It rained on the parade last year.
- 2:19Speaker 3: You rain on the parade every day.
- 2:23Speaker 2: Wow, Okay, I was okay, we started, see we started?
- 2:29Speaker 3: Where are we?
- 2:30Speaker 2: Six oh seven? Congratulations, the show is on its way.
- 2:35Speaker 2: Good morning Neil, good morning, Good morning Amy, Good morning
- 2:40Speaker 2: to you, Hi, Hi, Will Coleschreiber.
- 2:44Speaker 3: Good morning, Bill Handle, thank you and Cono. Good morning.
- 2:49Speaker 1: It's National Dude today.
- 2:51Speaker 2: By the way, I'm sorry nude Day National Well, okay,
- 2:56Speaker 2: I didn't celebrate well, summertime, it's not incredibly hot, so
- 3:00Speaker 2: I still am wearing my shorts this morning when it
- 3:03Speaker 2: is incredibly hot.
- 3:05Speaker 3: I come in here, Commando and the breeze blows. It's
- 3:11Speaker 3: really nice.
- 3:13Speaker 1: He gets up and it looks like an image of
- 3:16Speaker 1: Popeye on.
- 3:20Speaker 3: I don't get that. If that went right past.
- 3:24Speaker 1: Me, Neil Well, I had to switch because I was
- 3:27Speaker 1: originally going to say Peter Griffin, but I knew you
- 3:29Speaker 1: wouldn't get that one, so I switched to Popeye.
- 3:32Speaker 3: But also true, he didn't get either of those.
- 3:34Speaker 2: And lastly, and certainly possibly maybe sort of leasely, there's Anne.
- 3:42Speaker 3: Good morning.
- 3:43Speaker 2: Anne's not even saying a word nothing.
- 3:47Speaker 1: She was just about to go topless for this show
- 3:50Speaker 1: and you've ruined it.
- 3:51Speaker 3: Bill doing my part and nothing, nothing from you. I'll
- 3:55Speaker 3: tell you.
- 3:55Speaker 2: The only person on the show that is that we
- 3:58Speaker 2: I would appreciate going top it's really topless is Michelle Michelle.
- 4:05Speaker 2: As you know, believe me, we've talked about this before.
- 4:09Speaker 2: Michelle has gone public with this. I'm not shaming her.
- 4:12Speaker 2: Michelle is Michelle, all right, And when she was on
- 4:16Speaker 2: the show for twenty five years as the producer, that
- 4:20Speaker 2: often came up, and she herself would in fact noted,
- 4:25Speaker 2: and you're know how we have promo pictures.
- 4:26Speaker 3: We don't anymore.
- 4:27Speaker 2: I mean, there used to be when everybody on the
- 4:30Speaker 2: show had promo pictures. Neil remember those days? Oh yeah, yeah, well,
- 4:35Speaker 2: of course those days are gone. And with Michelle, everybody
- 4:38Speaker 2: had their picture and it would say mornings KFI AM
- 4:41Speaker 2: six forty and the Times. And for Michelle, all we
- 4:45Speaker 2: had was a photo of the Grand Teton Mountains and
- 4:49Speaker 2: she would sign.
- 4:50Speaker 1: Them the photos.
- 4:54Speaker 2: Yeah, she was not the Grand Teetons themselves, No, no, Yeah,
- 4:58Speaker 2: Michelle has been blessed with very large winnebagos and she's
- 5:03Speaker 2: very and she is very proud of that.
- 5:04Speaker 3: By the way.
- 5:06Speaker 2: You know, she once flashed at an Able Angels game
- 5:08Speaker 2: and got thrown out immediately.
- 5:10Speaker 1: Well it covered. She was pretty she.
- 5:13Speaker 3: Was pretty drunk.
- 5:16Speaker 2: Okay, enough of that, all right, right, a little bit
- 5:19Speaker 2: of inside base ooh, inside baseball at an Angel's game. O. Hmmm,
- 5:27Speaker 2: very strong and sound like Amy. Now, no, Amy does
- 5:32Speaker 2: these great openings. I love these puns and statements. Amy,
- 5:35Speaker 2: you're very very good at those when you do a
- 5:38Speaker 2: story on the news. Matter of fact, why don't we
- 5:40Speaker 2: do stories on the news. It is time for a
- 5:43Speaker 2: handle on the news with Amy, Neil and me. Late
- 5:48Speaker 2: story tell Straight of Horror Moves has gotten a little
- 5:54Speaker 2: bit straighter.
- 5:55Speaker 1: Uh.
- 5:56Speaker 2: The President says that the US will become guardian of
- 5:59Speaker 2: the it's going to be under our control. And the
- 6:04Speaker 2: way we're going to pay for the control, which of
- 6:07Speaker 2: course has to be militarily, is the US will charge
- 6:11Speaker 2: a rate of twenty percent on all cargo shipped and
- 6:15Speaker 2: reimbursed at that rate. I don't know quite how they
- 6:18Speaker 2: get twenty percent. Maybe it is the price of oil
- 6:22Speaker 2: on the day that the Strait of hor Moves is
- 6:27Speaker 2: passed or is used by these cargo ships, and certainly
- 6:31Speaker 2: oil will be that you can charge because it's the
- 6:36Speaker 2: value at that day in charge twenty percent. So you've
- 6:39Speaker 2: got two million barrels of oil typically on one of
- 6:43Speaker 2: these giant tankers, and I saw a news story yesterday
- 6:46Speaker 2: that would be thirty four million dollars per tanker. Now
- 6:50Speaker 2: what I don't know, other than oil, how do they
- 6:53Speaker 2: determine twenty percent of the value of a cargo.
- 6:57Speaker 1: Well, you know, widgets, the price of widgets. I know
- 7:01Speaker 1: people are just gonna say that one's empty. By the way, Bill,
- 7:06Speaker 1: as a fellow punster, you missed a great opportunity at
- 7:09Speaker 1: that headline. The world is not gay about the Strait
- 7:13Speaker 1: of Horror moves.
- 7:14Speaker 3: Oh, very strong, that's true.
- 7:16Speaker 1: And don't look at me, don't you dare? Yeah, yeah,
- 7:19Speaker 1: you're saying.
- 7:20Speaker 2: And so the United States that Pete Hexeth and others
- 7:25Speaker 2: have said we control the Strait of Horror moves. Well,
- 7:29Speaker 2: Iran just said we're stopping yet. That's it. We're closing
- 7:33Speaker 2: it down. But wait a minute, we the United States
- 7:36Speaker 2: controls it. Nope, how about that? And Iran can and
- 7:41Speaker 2: does close it. It is closed right now. I mean,
- 7:43Speaker 2: the war is heating up, and price of oil has
- 7:47Speaker 2: spiked ten percent yesterday because of what's going on.
- 7:52Speaker 3: All right, one more and then we'll take a break.
- 7:55Speaker 4: Uh. Several states say they're trying to save the Industryttorney
- 8:00Speaker 4: General Rob Bonte is leading twelve states, including California, New York, Washington,
- 8:05Speaker 4: with a lawsuit to block Paramounts one hundred eleven billion
- 8:09Speaker 4: dollar merger with Warner Brothers Discovery. The lawsuit says the
- 8:15Speaker 4: deal would hurt movie theaters. It would damage the competitive
- 8:18Speaker 4: market for distributing movies, including blockbusters that bring in a
- 8:22Speaker 4: lot of money and a lot of money for the studios.
- 8:25Speaker 4: The lawsuit also claims the deal would give the combined
- 8:28Speaker 4: company anti competitive power over the market for distributing basic
- 8:32Speaker 4: TV channels like CNN. They say in the lawsuit the
- 8:35Speaker 4: merger will end competition permanently.
- 8:40Speaker 2: Now I'm going to do this story coming up at
- 8:42Speaker 2: seven o'clock, but my favorite response is a paramount saying
- 8:47Speaker 2: buy us buying the Warner Discovery. That's going to increase competition.
- 8:54Speaker 2: They actually said that taking a company in burging it
- 8:58Speaker 2: with another company is could for competition.
- 9:01Speaker 3: Explain that one to me, would you please?
- 9:04Speaker 1: All Right? Lindsey Graham, as we know, passed away and
- 9:08Speaker 1: his sister has been appointed to finish his Senate terms,
- 9:12Speaker 1: So Darlene Graham Nordowne will finish out his Senate term
- 9:19Speaker 1: after the death of mister Graham this past Saturday. She
- 9:23Speaker 1: accepted the appointment, saying that it would be a privilege
- 9:26Speaker 1: to get to finish some of her brother's work over
- 9:30Speaker 1: the next several months.
- 9:32Speaker 3: Which is not undifficult. She's a placeholder.
- 9:37Speaker 2: The election happens, well, the general in November, there'll be
- 9:41Speaker 2: a snap election to see who is going to be
- 9:46Speaker 2: the Republican nominee. And so it makes sense. And as
- 9:51Speaker 2: we know, he died of a ruptured or a terror
- 9:55Speaker 2: in his a order because of high blood pressure sure
- 10:00Speaker 2: and some other cardiovascular disease which occasionally happens. And when
- 10:04Speaker 2: you're a ortigos boy, that tappens pretty quickly, say the least.
- 10:09Speaker 2: I love the fact that cash Mattel is ordering the
- 10:13Speaker 2: FBI to investigate. And my question is, how do the
- 10:17Speaker 2: Democrats cause a ordered tear?
- 10:23Speaker 3: Can't wait for that one, can you?
- 10:25Speaker 1: I could do it how I'll punch you right in
- 10:30Speaker 1: the heart.
- 10:31Speaker 3: I don't think that it doesn't cause any or tear.
- 10:34Speaker 1: The way I do it, it does, right, I mean
- 10:37Speaker 1: it'll it'll stop your heart. I'm going to knock that
- 10:40Speaker 1: pig valve right out of your mouth.
- 10:42Speaker 3: That you can do. But the old day or the tear, you.
- 10:45Speaker 1: Know, Russians know how to do it. They can do anything. Yes,
- 10:49Speaker 1: stick you with the tip of an umbrella in your toes.
- 10:52Speaker 3: It's true. With uh, what is it racing? Is that?
- 10:55Speaker 3: What it's called.
- 10:57Speaker 4: Yeah, okay, Pete's trying to plug those leaks. The Department
- 11:04Speaker 4: of Defense and the Justice Department have created a joint
- 11:06Speaker 4: task force to identify and prosecute individuals who are sharing
- 11:10Speaker 4: sensitive information with the media. Defense Secretary Pete Haegsas says
- 11:15Speaker 4: the new task force will help the Pentagon investigate leaks
- 11:18Speaker 4: more quickly and thoroughly, and anyone who improperly shares that
- 11:23Speaker 4: confidential to classified information, as he put it, will be
- 11:26Speaker 4: met with the full force of the law. He said,
- 11:28Speaker 4: leaked information risks.
- 11:30Speaker 3: Lives already on the books. It is a crime to
- 11:35Speaker 3: leak information.
- 11:37Speaker 4: That still happens.
- 11:39Speaker 3: Oh, it'll always happen, of course.
- 11:41Speaker 2: I mean they're trying to get more, trying to figure
- 11:45Speaker 2: out how to strengthen the security. The big thing is
- 11:49Speaker 2: the investigation of Air Force one and how the President
- 11:53Speaker 2: had to fly back from Europe on the old Air
- 11:57Speaker 2: Force one and somehow when that leaked, that became a
- 12:01Speaker 2: national security issue. Maybe it does say that the new
- 12:05Speaker 2: Air Force one doesn't have the security features. Yeah, I
- 12:08Speaker 2: guess you could argue that anyway.
- 12:10Speaker 3: Oh good luck.
- 12:11Speaker 2: By the way, when they hauled the reporters in, where
- 12:13Speaker 2: did you get your information.
- 12:15Speaker 3: Oh, that's going to happen.
- 12:19Speaker 1: Back to court. President Donald Trump's lawsuit against the IRS
- 12:24Speaker 1: over his leaked tax returns was filed for an improper purpose.
- 12:31Speaker 1: I'll have to explain that it, judge said Monday, as
- 12:34Speaker 1: she referred one of his lawyers for potential disciplinary action
- 12:40Speaker 1: and characterized the ten billion dollar complaint as an exercise
- 12:44Speaker 1: in self dealing. So the judge did stop short explicitly
- 12:50Speaker 1: avoiding the deal shielding Trump from tax scrutiny, but said
- 12:55Speaker 1: that the government government cannot claim in official proceedings that
- 12:59Speaker 1: the agreement was the result of a legitimate legal process.
- 13:03Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 13:03Speaker 2: A couple of things about that lawful. This is a
- 13:05Speaker 2: lower judge and district court judge, so of course it's
- 13:08Speaker 2: going to be appealed. Second of all, the judge said,
- 13:11Speaker 2: wait a minute. You file a lawsuit. You are the president.
- 13:14Speaker 2: You file a lawsuit against the IRS, of which you control,
- 13:20Speaker 2: and the deal is cut which the IRS does not
- 13:23Speaker 2: argue the other side at all. Sure will give you
- 13:27Speaker 2: what you demand. That you and your family or your
- 13:31Speaker 2: businesses cannot be audited at all up to now. And
- 13:36Speaker 2: I don't know if the ten billion dollars was that
- 13:38Speaker 2: all they walk away from that amy already. And then
- 13:42Speaker 2: this fund, of course, the one point seven to six
- 13:45Speaker 2: billion dollar fund.
- 13:47Speaker 4: They've walked away from that fund, the one point seven
- 13:51Speaker 4: to seven six billion dollar fund. And they said, fine,
- 13:53Speaker 4: we're not going to try to reimburse.
- 13:54Speaker 2: People, okay, And how about that ten billion dollars to
- 13:57Speaker 2: pay the president?
- 13:58Speaker 3: Is that's still up in the air.
- 14:00Speaker 4: Well, that was the complaint. He was suing for that,
- 14:03Speaker 4: and they settled it.
- 14:05Speaker 2: No, I understand did they settle it for the ten
- 14:07Speaker 2: billion dollars or is is it just the one point
- 14:11Speaker 2: eight billion dollars that was removed and is the only
- 14:16Speaker 2: thing left the non prosecution settlement? And you can't you
- 14:24Speaker 2: can't settle with yourself. That's what the that's what the
- 14:27Speaker 2: court said.
- 14:29Speaker 3: One of the rules of the court.
- 14:30Speaker 2: You have to have a legitimate adversarial relationship. You can't
- 14:35Speaker 2: have both people walk into court and sue and have
- 14:39Speaker 2: everybody agree.
- 14:40Speaker 3: That's called a settlement, right.
- 14:42Speaker 4: So the settlement was that he dropped the ten billion
- 14:45Speaker 4: dollar lawsuit in exchange for the one point seven seven
- 14:49Speaker 4: six billion dollar fund and the tax protections.
- 14:54Speaker 2: Yeah, I was completing them. That's that's correct. And the
- 14:56Speaker 2: court said you can't do that. You sue yourself. You
- 15:00Speaker 2: agree to this fund with yourself, and it's no, Yeah,
- 15:05Speaker 2: you can't do that. Wouldn't it be great if you
- 15:07Speaker 2: control the irs and you sue, and then the ir
- 15:11Speaker 2: S says, I'll tell you what, we'll settle that we're
- 15:13Speaker 2: never gonna we're never gonna audit you, but we'll let
- 15:16Speaker 2: you take money out of the federal federal coffers. But
- 15:22Speaker 2: you're the president, you control that money exactly. So the
- 15:26Speaker 2: court said, well, who didn't think this was self dealing?
- 15:29Speaker 2: Of course it was self dealing.
- 15:31Speaker 3: On its face. I mean, they din'tven pretend it was
- 15:34Speaker 3: the self dealing.
- 15:36Speaker 2: And of course the government said okay, because Trump said
- 15:39Speaker 2: okay to his demand.
- 15:41Speaker 3: All right.
- 15:42Speaker 4: May have been mistaken identity, but an Immigration and Customs
- 15:46Speaker 4: Enforcement agent in Maine has shot and killed a man
- 15:48Speaker 4: in his car on Monday. The Department of Homeland Security
- 15:52Speaker 4: said that the man was in the country illegally and
- 15:55Speaker 4: attempted to flee the scene when an ICE agent tried
- 15:59Speaker 4: to stop him in Biddeford, Maine, early yesterday morning. They
- 16:04Speaker 4: said that he was shot because the officer feared for
- 16:07Speaker 4: public safety.
- 16:09Speaker 2: Yeah, that he had weaponized his car, which I'm assuming
- 16:15Speaker 2: is he was trying to run over people. And at
- 16:18Speaker 2: first the statement was that he was the target of
- 16:25Speaker 2: the chase or target of the operation, and then they
- 16:28Speaker 2: came back twelve hours later and said no, no, he
- 16:31Speaker 2: wasn't the target. I think ICE is going to be
- 16:35Speaker 2: in a lot of trouble on this. Amy have we
- 16:38Speaker 2: and no body camps?
- 16:40Speaker 4: No, they did not have body camps. And it turns
- 16:42Speaker 4: out that the man killed was a Colombian man who
- 16:47Speaker 4: was here legally. They were going after somebody that they
- 16:53Speaker 4: said had the last known address of an illegal alien
- 16:56Speaker 4: with a final order for removal, so they might have
- 16:59Speaker 4: just after the wrong person.
- 17:01Speaker 3: Yeah, I think that's a given.
- 17:02Speaker 2: Now the question is taking the car and weaponizing Yet
- 17:08Speaker 2: was he trying to run over people? Was he targeting
- 17:12Speaker 2: ICE agents or someone else? And I wish we don't.
- 17:16Speaker 2: I haven't seen video of it yet.
- 17:18Speaker 1: Encounter ConA just said in my ear that there is
- 17:23Speaker 1: video footage from a security camera camera somewhere in the
- 17:27Speaker 1: vicinity apparently, but I've not seen it either.
- 17:29Speaker 3: So we're going to see.
- 17:31Speaker 2: We're going to see if remember the two the two
- 17:36Speaker 2: incidents that happened, one with that woman and I think
- 17:39Speaker 2: it was Minneapolis and one with that man who was shot,
- 17:42Speaker 2: and they came out and talked about weaponization and he
- 17:45Speaker 2: pulled out a gun and he had a gun, but
- 17:48Speaker 2: he never pulled it out, and he was just it's crazy.
- 17:52Speaker 2: Ice is not doing themselves any favor. This used to
- 17:56Speaker 2: be a strong point for the President Ice. Now it
- 18:01Speaker 2: has gone the other way.
- 18:06Speaker 1: Yeah. It's strange. Thing is Mexico came out and was
- 18:09Speaker 1: pissed and now he's Colombian. So does Mexico just stand
- 18:12Speaker 1: down at this point? No?
- 18:15Speaker 3: I think there they continue to be angry.
- 18:17Speaker 1: Ah, the Texas guy got it. Thanks Conna. All right,
- 18:21Speaker 1: this is disgusting if true. Pasadena Luxury Hotel Corporation, Langham
- 18:29Speaker 1: Hotels Pacific. Oh yeah, this is serious, upper crust hotel lovely.
- 18:38Speaker 1: But they're being accused. Oh well, I guess they're guilty
- 18:41Speaker 1: at this point. If they've got to.
- 18:42Speaker 4: Pay, they've settled. They did not admit guilty, gotcha.
- 18:46Speaker 3: Okay, yeah, they never admit guilt.
- 18:48Speaker 1: Ever, for three hundred and twenty thousand dollars, they settled
- 18:52Speaker 1: the lawsuit alleging unfairly raised prices on guests in the
- 18:57Speaker 1: wake of the Eaton fire last year. Now, the company
- 19:01Speaker 1: didn't admit any wrongdoing here about that settlement, as Bill
- 19:05Speaker 1: and Amy said, But we do have a law here
- 19:10Speaker 1: in California says you can't add more than ten percent
- 19:15Speaker 1: from your normal posted rates during any sort of natural disaster.
- 19:19Speaker 1: This could be for water, this could be for a hotel,
- 19:22Speaker 1: this could be for anything. And they said ahead, they
- 19:28Speaker 1: did it.
- 19:29Speaker 2: A quick word about not admitting guilt. They have to
- 19:33Speaker 2: not admit guilt because once they admit guilt, then anybody
- 19:39Speaker 2: suing them outside of the government.
- 19:42Speaker 3: Let's say you have.
- 19:43Speaker 2: An individual who alleges that he or she was overcharged.
- 19:48Speaker 2: You have the organization say, yeah, we're guilty of it.
- 19:52Speaker 2: Cases over it's done now with just how much money.
- 19:56Speaker 2: So you can see how they can't admit guilt because
- 20:00Speaker 2: it's over for them with any lawsuit because the first
- 20:03Speaker 2: thing you put on the stands an executive for Langham,
- 20:07Speaker 2: didn't you admit that you did this?
- 20:10Speaker 3: How do you have any argument against that. That's why
- 20:13Speaker 3: they don't. That's why they don't admit to wrongdoing.
- 20:19Speaker 4: I'm okay trying to find out how much they are Yeah,
- 20:23Speaker 4: how much you have increased rates? Because ten percent that threshold.
- 20:28Speaker 4: But I mean, did they raise rates by fifty percent?
- 20:31Speaker 4: Like we just had a guy convicted for raising rental
- 20:36Speaker 4: forty percent after the fires.
- 20:38Speaker 2: Now people stay at the Langham depending on that. People
- 20:42Speaker 2: have a lot of money who stay at the Langham.
- 20:44Speaker 2: It is a very pricey hotel. There's a Langham in London,
- 20:48Speaker 2: for example, where it's one thousand dollars a night, So
- 20:52Speaker 2: it's you know, people have that kind of money.
- 20:54Speaker 3: Do they care?
- 20:55Speaker 2: I don't know. I don't stay at a thousand dollars
- 20:58Speaker 2: a night hotel rooms.
- 21:00Speaker 4: I had some shaking near the San Andreas Vault. Back
- 21:04Speaker 4: to back earthquakes rumbled north of La Two of California's
- 21:08Speaker 4: most significant faults were shaking, including the San Andreas. A
- 21:13Speaker 4: magnitude four point one hit at three point thirty eight
- 21:17Speaker 4: a m. Sunday, just outside Fraser Park that's near the Grapevine.
- 21:23Speaker 4: Then a magnitude four point three hit at nine forty
- 21:27Speaker 4: a m. Yesterday. The epicenter was in the Mahabby Desert.
- 21:32Speaker 4: Weak shaking was felt as far away as Los Angeles,
- 21:34Speaker 4: Victorville and Santa Claritas, and Fernando and San Gabriel Valleys.
- 21:39Speaker 4: The Fraser earthquake, according to the USGS, was probably on
- 21:42Speaker 4: the San Andres.
- 21:46Speaker 2: We're so due for a major quake here in southward
- 21:49Speaker 2: California along the Sandreas Fall. This is the teutonic plates
- 21:54Speaker 2: that meet, and when they sort of slipped past each other,
- 21:59Speaker 2: there comes the earthquake.
- 22:00Speaker 3: And it ain't fun.
- 22:03Speaker 2: We've had some good ones and we're gonna Yeah, we're
- 22:06Speaker 2: way overdue for the big one.
- 22:08Speaker 1: How come I've been hearing this since I was in
- 22:10Speaker 1: grade school because it's.
- 22:12Speaker 4: Still way overdue geologically. It's just a moment in time.
- 22:20Speaker 1: That's profound.
- 22:22Speaker 3: Yeah, that is profound.
- 22:24Speaker 1: So is Angel's gas. That's all right, all right, thank
- 22:28Speaker 1: you for So people are betting against Trump, at least
- 22:31Speaker 1: the market is Oil surges most since twenty twenty, but
- 22:36Speaker 1: they're looking at the US government stockpile of crude has
- 22:41Speaker 1: been drawn down to its lowest level since nineteen eighty three,
- 22:45Speaker 1: and this renewed fight fighting with Trump and the strait
- 22:49Speaker 1: of hormuse has pushed crude futures up. So people are
- 22:54Speaker 1: looking obviously in the future of what's going on and
- 22:57Speaker 1: this fight going on with Trump's announcement that he is
- 23:01Speaker 1: reimposing the US blockade in Iranian of Iranian ships and
- 23:06Speaker 1: all of that, and saying he's going to bob the
- 23:09Speaker 1: hell out of him obviously makes people nervous and the
- 23:12Speaker 1: price go up.
- 23:13Speaker 2: That's what happens. The United States is saying the Straight
- 23:17Speaker 2: of Horror moves, we control it.
- 23:19Speaker 1: Iran says Straight of America, Bill, Straight of America.
- 23:22Speaker 2: Yeah, the Straight of America. Whether straight of it's the
- 23:25Speaker 2: Trump job in mind, that's straight up the Trumps, that's true.
- 23:29Speaker 3: And so we're the war is happening.
- 23:34Speaker 4: Well, you see, and the SATs are not getting back together.
- 23:40Speaker 4: University of California Admissions board has voted to rescind efforts
- 23:45Speaker 4: to reconsider whether to resume SAT and Act requirements for admissions.
- 23:51Speaker 4: Remember they pulled him a few years ago, I think
- 23:53Speaker 4: it was during the pandemic. But on a meeting or
- 23:56Speaker 4: at a meeting on Friday, the board said no, let's
- 24:00Speaker 4: let's not reconsider that right now, and then all of
- 24:02Speaker 4: the links on their website explaining what they were planning
- 24:05Speaker 4: to do disappeared.
- 24:07Speaker 2: And why is this so controversial? Because the argument is
- 24:12Speaker 2: the SAT and the.
- 24:18Speaker 3: Written and the.
- 24:21Speaker 2: Multiple choice is skewed against people of color, and.
- 24:28Speaker 3: Do you know they it doesn't say.
- 24:30Speaker 2: It doesn't say when I took the when I took
- 24:32Speaker 2: the bar, exactly the same argument because a number of
- 24:36Speaker 2: African Americans who passed the bar was minuscule. Number of
- 24:39Speaker 2: people who took the bar was miniscule, and the argument
- 24:42Speaker 2: was to rewrite the bar that lasted thirty seconds where
- 24:48Speaker 2: the bar folks the state bar said no, you're dreaming,
- 24:51Speaker 2: We're not going to do that. And I think you're
- 24:53Speaker 2: saying the same thing, except the UC system is caving
- 24:58Speaker 2: and I don't know. I have no idea how the
- 25:02Speaker 2: bar can be rewritten in terms of viewing it as
- 25:07Speaker 2: one color or another, or poor people have a rougher
- 25:12Speaker 2: time with the bar.
- 25:13Speaker 3: Yeah, poor people have a rougher.
- 25:15Speaker 2: Time with any academic endeavor because they don't have tutors,
- 25:20Speaker 2: because they don't get the same education, because inner city
- 25:23Speaker 2: schools aren't as good that they don't test as well.
- 25:27Speaker 3: So you know, you.
- 25:29Speaker 2: Can't even out the playing field without going communists, which
- 25:32Speaker 2: everybody gets the same education, everybody makes the same money.
- 25:36Speaker 1: The state owns everything, and you work for the state.
- 25:39Speaker 1: What about beneficial reparations? How come everybody always goes straight
- 25:47Speaker 1: to money. Why not education? Why not free education? Well,
- 25:50Speaker 1: there's an argument there too. It's a huge argument. I
- 25:52Speaker 1: think I think that should have been a no brain
- 25:55Speaker 1: brain or bring it up. If you've been pushed behind,
- 25:58Speaker 1: then push.
- 25:59Speaker 3: For Now let me ask you case still.
- 26:01Speaker 2: Do you still believe that people of minority are pushed
- 26:04Speaker 2: behind in education?
- 26:07Speaker 3: Uh? And uh the let's say the work the work world.
- 26:11Speaker 2: I'm gonna I would argue, it's the other way to
- 26:13Speaker 2: even it out that's been going on. All right, let's
- 26:16Speaker 2: go ahead and finish it up. The paramount deal we're
- 26:19Speaker 2: going to talk about. It's the biggest deal that ever
- 26:23Speaker 2: was in the world of the deals that worked. Eh,
- 26:27Speaker 2: maybe it was, Yeah, we is. We is the biggest
- 26:32Speaker 2: deal that ever was. We'll be back kf I A
