- 0:00Speaker 1: Scrubbing In with Beca Tilly and Tanya rad and iHeartRadio
- 0:04Speaker 1: and two time People's Choice Award winning podcast.
- 0:11Speaker 2: Hello everybody, we are scrubbing in.
- 0:16Speaker 1: That's right. It is Monday, Holy Monday.
- 0:22Speaker 2: Monday Funday.
- 0:23Speaker 1: That's right. How you doing?
- 0:25Speaker 3: Doing? Good?
- 0:26Speaker 1: Hey doing I'm good. We're podcasting close to bedtime tonight.
- 0:30Speaker 2: Oh my god, it's three thirty, is it really? Yeah,
- 0:36Speaker 2: we're nearing dinner time.
- 0:37Speaker 1: You're marrying dinner time.
- 0:39Speaker 2: You know what.
- 0:39Speaker 1: It's all good.
- 0:40Speaker 2: I posted about this, and I feel like I know
- 0:43Speaker 2: the answer based on just your regular schedule programming. But
- 0:47Speaker 2: I posted about leftovers and how I don't like leftovers.
- 0:50Speaker 2: And it's kind of a problem because you know, the
- 0:53Speaker 2: portion sizes here in America are large, so and and
- 0:57Speaker 2: Hayley has allergy, so we can never share things, so
- 1:00Speaker 2: it's like I don't get to have a split meal.
- 1:03Speaker 2: Sometimes I'll try to order off the kids menu if possible,
- 1:06Speaker 2: because I know I need smaller portions.
- 1:07Speaker 1: But anyways, I.
- 1:08Speaker 2: Don't like leftovers, so I hate wasting food. I normally,
- 1:12Speaker 2: if we go out to eat, I'll box it up
- 1:13Speaker 2: and try to give it to someone. If I'm in
- 1:16Speaker 2: an area where that's possible, but a lot of people
- 1:20Speaker 2: relate it to me and said they also don't eat leftovers.
- 1:23Speaker 2: But a lot of people are like, that's a very
- 1:25Speaker 2: privileged take. You wasting so much food, And I'm like, totally,
- 1:29Speaker 2: but what am I supposed to do?
- 1:31Speaker 1: I can't the leftovers, but I don't. I live in leftover.
- 1:34Speaker 2: I know you love leftovers and you love food prepping,
- 1:36Speaker 2: and I'm also.
- 1:37Speaker 1: I love batching. If I have enough of a meal,
- 1:40Speaker 1: if I go out to dinner and I don't eat
- 1:42Speaker 1: the whole thing, which is not common, but if I don't,
- 1:45Speaker 1: I take it home. I'm so happy to have lunch
- 1:47Speaker 1: for the next day. Yeah, I wish so happy? Did
- 1:49Speaker 1: you that? I guess crazy and.
- 1:55Speaker 2: Leftovers my parents didn't like that wasn't something that we
- 1:58Speaker 2: had to do. It wasn't like you have deat leftovers.
- 2:01Speaker 2: I would eat my mom's roast as long as we
- 2:04Speaker 2: had it. That's the one thing I would do with leftovers.
- 2:07Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, I'm like, Shad bought dinners. Like when
- 2:09Speaker 1: they make all the food and they like pack me
- 2:11Speaker 1: stuff to take home for the weekend. I'm so happy,
- 2:13Speaker 1: so jealous.
- 2:14Speaker 2: I get so icked by food when it's not fresh
- 2:19Speaker 2: and warm and hot.
- 2:20Speaker 1: But there are food I can.
- 2:21Speaker 2: Do, privileget over there I can do. I can do pizza,
- 2:26Speaker 2: and I can do Chinese food all heat up, but
- 2:30Speaker 2: that's maybe a pasta but very rare.
- 2:33Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, passover my aunt like just had shoes
- 2:36Speaker 1: had so, I mean, you know, they make so much food.
- 2:39Speaker 1: I had leftovers for three days and I was stoked.
- 2:42Speaker 2: The same food though, Yeah, and you.
- 2:44Speaker 1: Just ate it three days in a row, yeah, for
- 2:46Speaker 1: different meals. So I had like lunch the next day,
- 2:48Speaker 1: then I had it for dinner.
- 2:49Speaker 2: Well me, you know, I'm already just freaked out by
- 2:52Speaker 2: specific meat. So like getting it down for one meal
- 2:56Speaker 2: is an achievement. The thought of reheating it, I just
- 3:00Speaker 2: it's a mental block and I can't. It's I it's
- 3:03Speaker 2: not I want to like them.
- 3:06Speaker 1: We actually weat food prep on Sundays and like I
- 3:08Speaker 1: have like my all my food, like basically all leftovers
- 3:10Speaker 1: all week. But we didn't food prep yesterday because Robbie
- 3:13Speaker 1: took me on like a tour de France and yeah,
- 3:16Speaker 1: thank you. So we didn't meal prep and I was
- 3:20Speaker 1: like lost in my refrigerator this morning. I was like
- 3:22Speaker 1: what do I eat Wow? Do you eat leftovers Eastern? Yes?
- 3:28Speaker 4: Not that often. Yeah, Alison likes to think she's a
- 3:31Speaker 4: leftovers and she's not so our our fridge.
- 3:34Speaker 1: Is full of yes.
- 3:35Speaker 4: And I'm like, you're not going to eat this? Like,
- 3:37Speaker 4: who are we fool in here?
- 3:39Speaker 1: So that's pot continue over there. Yeah, so we'll take it.
- 3:43Speaker 2: And Hayley's like, I will eat this for lunch the
- 3:45Speaker 2: next day and then just.
- 3:47Speaker 1: A week later, I'm like, hey, you eating this?
- 3:52Speaker 2: So anyways, it was a debate, but a lot. I
- 3:56Speaker 2: would say eighty percent, maybe eighty five percent. We're the same.
- 4:02Speaker 2: I can't Yeah, I can't read them. I feel so seen.
- 4:05Speaker 2: I get so mentally grossed out.
- 4:09Speaker 4: I used to be like grossed out by it, but
- 4:11Speaker 4: then I found like other ways of heating it up
- 4:14Speaker 4: because the microwave was not good to me, right, you know.
- 4:17Speaker 4: And then I found like putting it in a skillet
- 4:18Speaker 4: with like a water.
- 4:21Speaker 1: I just find cooking every meal that's so much work.
- 4:31Speaker 1: Then what do you do? I order food for breakfast, lunch,
- 4:35Speaker 1: and dinner.
- 4:36Speaker 2: Well, no, like breakfast, I make my own food, okay,
- 4:38Speaker 2: but you will only make just enough for you to
- 4:40Speaker 2: eat in that moment Yeah, that's crazy.
- 4:43Speaker 4: I don't know people do breakfast leftovers.
- 4:48Speaker 2: I think that's pretty normal to make breakfast.
- 4:50Speaker 1: Yees, sure, scramble two eggs with these toes. Yeah.
- 4:52Speaker 2: Actually, when I think of leftovers, I'm more so considering
- 4:56Speaker 2: going to eat and taking what I have left as
- 5:00Speaker 2: opposed to what we make at home. We normally make
- 5:03Speaker 2: enough for the two of us. We don't make a
- 5:06Speaker 2: batch of food.
- 5:08Speaker 1: Because we won't need any dang.
- 5:10Speaker 2: Yeah, anyways, that was a little bit about me and you.
- 5:16Speaker 1: Went to the Gold galas? Oh, yeah, leftover as while
- 5:20Speaker 1: she's like on the record with Brianka Chopra Jonas over here. Yeah,
- 5:23Speaker 1: we went to the Gold Gala.
- 5:25Speaker 2: It's it celebrates Asian Americans in the industry, and I
- 5:31Speaker 2: love getting to celebrate Hailey's well, Haley's half Japanese. I
- 5:36Speaker 2: love getting to celebrate her Japanese in Asian culture. It's
- 5:39Speaker 2: like the most beautiful people. And I've gotten to go
- 5:43Speaker 2: to a few things, but the Gold This year, it
- 5:45Speaker 2: was my first time going to the Gold Gala. And
- 5:47Speaker 2: she actually performed Girls Like Girls an orchestral version, and I.
- 5:52Speaker 1: Love an orchestral version.
- 5:53Speaker 2: It's so beautiful. And by the way, that's what her
- 5:58Speaker 2: manager said, we should her.
- 6:00Speaker 1: Style like the quartet doing girls like Girls. I'm like
- 6:04Speaker 1: me thinking about that.
- 6:05Speaker 2: I've heard that song one million times, it is, but
- 6:09Speaker 2: even still watching her performance, I had tears in my
- 6:12Speaker 2: eyes the whole time. Like you, It's just has that impact.
- 6:16Speaker 2: And they showed the trailer for the movie before she
- 6:19Speaker 2: came out, and I'm just so proud of her. She
- 6:23Speaker 2: just no one works harder than Haley. It's the most
- 6:26Speaker 2: impressive thing I've ever seen. And I obviously am her
- 6:30Speaker 2: partner and I get to witness it very closely. But
- 6:33Speaker 2: I don't even think people realize that in and outs
- 6:37Speaker 2: of her day, it's just to create and to make
- 6:41Speaker 2: things because she she wants to have. She wants people
- 6:45Speaker 2: like her to have content to look at and to
- 6:48Speaker 2: see themselves in. And I think it's amazing because obviously
- 6:52Speaker 2: she's done so much for the LGBTQ plus community, but
- 6:57Speaker 2: now it's like she's really wanting to celebrate her Asian
- 7:02Speaker 2: culture and like where she comes from, and like, I
- 7:05Speaker 2: just think it's amazing. She's incredible. So anyways, we did
- 7:09Speaker 2: that and she was flawless and looked incredible, and we
- 7:15Speaker 2: got to do as did you.
- 7:16Speaker 1: Thank you so much.
- 7:17Speaker 2: I loved my dress.
- 7:18Speaker 1: You looked at giving devil wors Prada.
- 7:20Speaker 2: Oh wow, thank you. Yeah, it was really fun to
- 7:24Speaker 2: get dressed up and go out where we both felt
- 7:27Speaker 2: good about her. You know how sometimes you get ready
- 7:29Speaker 2: for an event and you're like, oh, I just the
- 7:31Speaker 2: time comes and you're like, I don't even want to
- 7:33Speaker 2: take pictures. And sometimes those events are just so draining
- 7:39Speaker 2: and you get there and you're feeling total imposter syndrome.
- 7:43Speaker 2: But I also think being the plus one of your
- 7:48Speaker 2: if you want me to say pictures, I'll be there.
- 7:50Speaker 2: And then they were like, let's get pictures of you
- 7:52Speaker 2: by yourself, so I didn't have to do anything. I
- 7:56Speaker 2: was simply a a accessory.
- 7:58Speaker 1: Accessory and very pretty accessory. Thank you.
- 8:02Speaker 2: So it was really fun.
- 8:03Speaker 1: But yeah, Beca's so chill about this. By the way,
- 8:07Speaker 1: I'm like, hey, Like I was like hi, I was
- 8:09Speaker 1: just like trying to like chit chat with you, and
- 8:11Speaker 1: then I like checked your occation. I was like, where
- 8:12Speaker 1: the hell is she? And then I feel like I
- 8:15Speaker 1: saw a photo and I was like where are you
- 8:17Speaker 1: and She's like I'm at the gold Gala. I'm like mix, kay, yeah,
- 8:22Speaker 1: like you don't like flow up a flare gum, Like,
- 8:24Speaker 1: let me know these like big events in your life.
- 8:26Speaker 1: I will do that.
- 8:27Speaker 2: If you care, If you'd like to know, I'm happy.
- 8:30Speaker 1: I'd love to know.
- 8:31Speaker 2: I'm happy to tell you every move I made.
- 8:34Speaker 1: Were you hob not being with Prianca Jonas Joe bra No,
- 8:36Speaker 1: I didn't. Okay, So Prianca Joe bratonas we are.
- 8:40Speaker 2: We got there early because since Hailey is performing, we
- 8:43Speaker 2: had to do the carpet and pressed stuff earlier. And
- 8:46Speaker 2: then I think the celebrity like Prianca and it was
- 8:51Speaker 2: like Mindy Kayling and Chrissy Tigan and John Legend. They
- 8:54Speaker 2: all came I think later because we were walking to
- 8:56Speaker 2: Haley's green room and they were just arriving to the carpet.
- 8:59Speaker 1: Okay, but still, oh, you're like, once you're in the event,
- 9:01Speaker 1: did you see them?
- 9:02Speaker 2: I wasn't in the event really because we went back
- 9:05Speaker 2: to them.
- 9:06Speaker 1: No, we well, we met a lot.
- 9:09Speaker 2: Of people after, but I didn't see any of them
- 9:11Speaker 2: at the after party, so I don't know if they were.
- 9:15Speaker 2: We we like went to the after party and then
- 9:18Speaker 2: did a little loop and then said it's bad time.
- 9:20Speaker 1: Uh uh naturally, so but it.
- 9:24Speaker 2: Was really fun, and I was like, that's so cool
- 9:26Speaker 2: that Hailey gets to perform and everyone, all those people
- 9:29Speaker 2: get her trailer and then listen to her, you know, perform.
- 9:34Speaker 2: So it was really fun. And the lead of her movie, Maya,
- 9:37Speaker 2: she presented Haley with Sherry Cola, who's one of our friends,
- 9:40Speaker 2: and it was really special because it was Maya's first
- 9:43Speaker 2: She's up and coming.
- 9:44Speaker 1: And coming, and she looks just like Haley. No, that's Mayra.
- 9:48Speaker 2: It's Maya and Myra, and I just feel like everyone's
- 9:52Speaker 2: gonna fall in love with them. They're just so cute
- 9:56Speaker 2: and special and they're amazing.
- 9:59Speaker 1: In the movie. One of them looks just like Haley,
- 10:02Speaker 1: and it's like freaky, Yeah she talked.
- 10:05Speaker 2: About because she's Yeah Maya, Mayra is beauty.
- 10:11Speaker 1: They're both so beautiful.
- 10:12Speaker 2: But anyways, it was really fun and I love getting
- 10:16Speaker 2: to celebrate Haley and I love that she's getting the
- 10:19Speaker 2: recognition that she deserves.
- 10:21Speaker 1: Yeah, what did you do this weekend? I did a
- 10:25Speaker 1: lot this weekend. Your girl was booked and busy. I
- 10:29Speaker 1: feel like you're always booked and busy. It's the life
- 10:32Speaker 1: of show girl. Baby, what were you booked?
- 10:35Speaker 2: And I knew you did something Sunday, But what did
- 10:38Speaker 2: you do? Uh?
- 10:39Speaker 1: We'd had a Shabbat on Friday night and then it
- 10:42Speaker 1: was so it was Mother's Day weekend, so we celebrated
- 10:44Speaker 1: my mom last weekend, which she loved, Like she was
- 10:48Speaker 1: so happy with the time, like it was like perfect,
- 10:52Speaker 1: It's all she wanted. And then this on Saturday, I
- 10:55Speaker 1: took up. We took out my mother in law. Okay,
- 10:57Speaker 1: so we did like a really nice lunch, like sat
- 10:59Speaker 1: down favorite restaurant, like spent a lot of time. So
- 11:03Speaker 1: that was like perfect chef's kiss. And then Sunday was
- 11:07Speaker 1: Mother's Day, and because we'd already celebrated my mom, we'd
- 11:10Speaker 1: celebrated my mother in law, Sunday was like open and
- 11:13Speaker 1: I was kind of like dreading it a little bit
- 11:15Speaker 1: just because of like everything that I've been going through.
- 11:17Speaker 1: I was like preparing Robbie. I was like, I'm scared,
- 11:20Speaker 1: I'm gonna be like emotional on this day. Like I'm
- 11:23Speaker 1: just like preparing you, like da da da da. This
- 11:27Speaker 1: man like when I tell you, so, he makes me
- 11:31Speaker 1: breakfast in bed.
- 11:32Speaker 2: Like five star Michelin restaurant breakfast.
- 11:37Speaker 1: I don't think you understand. So like I there are
- 11:39Speaker 1: these lemon ricotta pancakes at this Santa Barbara hotel that
- 11:42Speaker 1: we go to. They are the best. They're gluten free.
- 11:45Speaker 1: They are the best gluten free pancakes I've ever had
- 11:48Speaker 1: my life. I get them every time we go there,
- 11:50Speaker 1: and I just don't stop talking about them because I'm
- 11:52Speaker 1: like don't understand how gluten free pancake can be this
- 11:54Speaker 1: fluffy and delicious, like it is so good. So he
- 11:59Speaker 1: recreated this gluten free lemon ricotta pancake for me. It
- 12:04Speaker 1: looked amazing and like tasted even better. Wow. And that
- 12:09Speaker 1: was like supposed to be like the like tip off
- 12:14Speaker 1: to what we were doing for the day. Oh, I see,
- 12:15Speaker 1: because it was like the pancakes from Santa Barbara. Huh.
- 12:19Speaker 1: And so his plan was just to like keep me
- 12:21Speaker 1: like busy the whole day, just so I didn't really
- 12:23Speaker 1: like get into my emotions as I like tend to
- 12:25Speaker 1: do and like go south. So it made me breakfast
- 12:29Speaker 1: in bed. The kids wrote me cards like that was
- 12:32Speaker 1: really really sweet, and then they went to do their
- 12:35Speaker 1: Mother's Day and then Robbie took me to Santa Barbara.
- 12:38Speaker 1: We had this like beautiful lunch and we sat there
- 12:42Speaker 1: for a little bit and then we went to this
- 12:43Speaker 1: hotel and we just played cards all afternoon, like we
- 12:45Speaker 1: were gone the whole day. I had the best day. Wow.
- 12:50Speaker 2: Yeah, Robbie's really just one of a kind guy.
- 12:56Speaker 1: I think I think he because I was talking him
- 13:00Speaker 1: about it when we were like driving home, and I
- 13:02Speaker 1: was like, even just like the being in the car
- 13:03Speaker 1: for an hour and a half, Like I loved like
- 13:05Speaker 1: having that time, and like I was so worried and
- 13:09Speaker 1: I was so scared, and he was like, I just
- 13:12Speaker 1: wanted to keep you occupied, and I also want you
- 13:15Speaker 1: to know, like how much your role in my kids'
- 13:19Speaker 1: lives means to me and it means to them, and
- 13:21Speaker 1: I just like want.
- 13:22Speaker 3: You to know that.
- 13:23Speaker 1: And it was just really nice.
- 13:25Speaker 2: You know, I'm Monica and Rachel are talking to an environment.
- 13:31Speaker 1: I've been saying.
- 13:32Speaker 2: I think it's like the feeling of being seen and
- 13:35Speaker 2: like known, knowing what you needed that day without you
- 13:39Speaker 2: having to ask for the distraction, you know, him planning
- 13:43Speaker 2: something that he knew that you loved, but also was
- 13:46Speaker 2: going to keep your mind busy.
- 13:48Speaker 1: And yeah, like if we'd stay at home and like
- 13:50Speaker 1: watched barbecue bral or like no, now we're done with
- 13:53Speaker 1: barbecue bra or watching Bobby Flay. There are thirty eight
- 13:56Speaker 1: seasons of.
- 13:58Speaker 3: Or more.
- 13:59Speaker 1: I think there's like forty two. Yeah, you would have
- 14:00Speaker 1: been in your head. Yeah, I would have been like
- 14:03Speaker 1: I would have I would have gone south quick.
- 14:06Speaker 2: It's it's kind of an interesting holiday because everyone's posting
- 14:14Speaker 2: about it, like you can't keep it.
- 14:16Speaker 1: And I even.
- 14:18Speaker 2: Found myself being like do I need to have kids?
- 14:21Speaker 1: Like I found myself being like do I need this?
- 14:24Speaker 2: And it's because it's like you're it's just infiltrating into
- 14:28Speaker 2: and you're getting to see people celebrating and it's like
- 14:30Speaker 2: so joyful and beautiful, and you're like you feel like
- 14:35Speaker 2: you don't have kids. You're kind of like am I
- 14:37Speaker 2: supposed to be doing this? Or what's happening? You know,
- 14:40Speaker 2: it's kind of a thing you can't escape unless you
- 14:42Speaker 2: just turn off your phone. It's a beautiful thing. I mean,
- 14:44Speaker 2: it's like such a beautiful day and getting to celebrate
- 14:48Speaker 2: women and moms and and.
- 14:51Speaker 1: You know, it's been fun.
- 14:52Speaker 2: Our so many of our friends are new moms and
- 14:55Speaker 2: them getting to have their first Mother's Day. Jordan's option
- 15:00Speaker 2: to Jojo I was like, oh my god, I just
- 15:04Speaker 2: I just have to say the men that are close
- 15:08Speaker 2: to me in my life and that are my friends
- 15:11Speaker 2: are married to and Easton and Mark, like the guys
- 15:13Speaker 2: in my life. I just feel I'm so lucky because
- 15:17Speaker 2: there's a lot of shitty guys out there, and I
- 15:19Speaker 2: feel like the ones that I get to witness they
- 15:23Speaker 2: have restored my faith. And seriously, I mean there's so
- 15:27Speaker 2: much bad and there's horrible women too, but I'm just
- 15:31Speaker 2: saying like there's like cream of the crop men that
- 15:34Speaker 2: I get to witness and that I get to experience
- 15:37Speaker 2: as a friend, but also that my friends get to experience,
- 15:40Speaker 2: and it's wonderful.
- 15:41Speaker 1: But you're so right. It is like psychological warfare on
- 15:43Speaker 1: the day because it's like you're right. Your feet is
- 15:45Speaker 1: like inundated with it when you're in when you're like
- 15:48Speaker 1: trying to conceive. I do feel like pregnancy announcements have
- 15:52Speaker 1: been all I see on my social media, and it's like,
- 15:55Speaker 1: what is it. It's like that there's term for all. Yeah,
- 16:00Speaker 1: Mother's Day, Like it's just like hit, it just hits different.
- 16:03Speaker 4: Whatever can go wrong will go wrong.
- 16:05Speaker 5: Oh okay, what everything think about you attract Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 16:10Speaker 5: FRUGI Frudians Freudian, there's no fruge Prugin's.
- 16:18Speaker 1: I know what you're talking about.
- 16:19Speaker 2: Though, It's like you talk about something, especially now, I
- 16:22Speaker 2: do think when you talk about something, your algorithm Taylor's
- 16:25Speaker 2: there like.
- 16:25Speaker 1: A baby boom right now, Like every day there's a
- 16:28Speaker 1: new pregnancy announcement.
- 16:29Speaker 2: I'm like, I think we're at that age though too.
- 16:32Speaker 2: It's like, especially in a realm, yes, it is a lot.
- 16:36Speaker 1: And so I was like, I think I was just
- 16:38Speaker 1: like I was planning for the psychological warfare and so
- 16:43Speaker 1: I was like kind of working myself up for it. Yeah,
- 16:46Speaker 1: And it's so crazy because I'm reading this book it's
- 16:50Speaker 1: called May Cause Miracles by Gabrielle Bernstein, and it's like
- 16:52Speaker 1: a forty day workbook basically, and I started it on
- 16:56Speaker 1: the day before Mother's Day, and I honestly feel like
- 17:01Speaker 1: that helped me like switch my perspective, do you know
- 17:05Speaker 1: what I mean? Because I'm like, at least, like a
- 17:06Speaker 1: lot of people don't have a relationship with their mothers,
- 17:09Speaker 1: or their mothers have passed away, or do you know
- 17:11Speaker 1: what I mean. So I'm like, at least I have that,
- 17:13Speaker 1: and I have a beautiful mother in law, and I
- 17:14Speaker 1: have all these amazing people in my life, and I
- 17:17Speaker 1: was just like focusing on the like love in my
- 17:20Speaker 1: life versus the thing that I don't have, right, And
- 17:24Speaker 1: it really like changed my day, changed my mood completely.
- 17:29Speaker 1: I love that. Like, I think I expected to be
- 17:31Speaker 1: just like crying all day yesterday and I was not.
- 17:33Speaker 1: I was like so happy.
- 17:35Speaker 2: Well, I think that's the beauty of the mind and
- 17:37Speaker 2: the power of the mind of you know, we can
- 17:41Speaker 2: focus so much on what we don't have, and we
- 17:42Speaker 2: kind of forget about the things that we do have.
- 17:44Speaker 2: And I think it's obviously easier said than done. But
- 17:47Speaker 2: if you can shift your mindset and be able to
- 17:49Speaker 2: look at the love and the people and the things
- 17:52Speaker 2: that you do have that you're surrounded by that make
- 17:54Speaker 2: life so beautiful, you can hold space.
- 17:58Speaker 1: For both of those things, holding space because you can.
- 18:00Speaker 2: You can you can have that feeling of yearning or
- 18:04Speaker 2: wanting or you know, being sad or whatever, and also
- 18:08Speaker 2: acknowledge the beautiful life you do have, yeah, and things
- 18:12Speaker 2: you do have. Yeah, I'm glad you had.
- 18:15Speaker 1: Such a lovely day.
- 18:16Speaker 3: I did.
- 18:18Speaker 2: That.
- 18:18Speaker 1: Those pancakes were gonna Everybody kept hitting me up, like,
- 18:21Speaker 1: what's the recipe and I'm like, I'll get it, and
- 18:23Speaker 1: I'm such a chef. Robbie is, Yeah, I know, I
- 18:26Speaker 1: have to get him something. I'm thinking for Father's Day.
- 18:28Speaker 1: I have to get him something like cooking related. But
- 18:30Speaker 1: he's like so into all that stuff that I'm like,
- 18:33Speaker 1: I can't get the wrong thing, you know what I mean? Yeah,
- 18:36Speaker 1: Oh my god, I do some research.
- 18:40Speaker 2: Did you see this?
- 18:41Speaker 3: Uh?
- 18:41Speaker 2: Switching gears majorly? Did you see that? Chad Michael Murray
- 18:46Speaker 2: liked our Real and Scrubbing in with James Lafferty.
- 18:50Speaker 1: We do have to like have a little bit of
- 18:51Speaker 1: a debrief of our interview with them, but maybe we'll
- 18:55Speaker 1: do it after we take a break.
- 18:56Speaker 2: Perfect we're back.
- 19:14Speaker 1: We're back. Stephen COLLETTI and James Lafferty love them. I
- 19:19Speaker 1: do want to tell everybody. Before they came in and
- 19:21Speaker 1: they sat down, I was like, who in your lives
- 19:24Speaker 1: is a scrubber? Like I literally thought somebody in their
- 19:26Speaker 1: life was a scrubber because they weren't doing interviews with
- 19:28Speaker 1: anybody else really, they had like two other podcasts that
- 19:32Speaker 1: they were doing, so like, surely somebody on their team
- 19:34Speaker 1: is a scrubber.
- 19:35Speaker 2: So they like, we our community and Tanya Easton Mark
- 19:40Speaker 2: and I we refer like our listeners are scrubbers.
- 19:44Speaker 6: But beyond that world, no one knows what the scrubber is, right,
- 19:49Speaker 6: And so Tanya goes, so I have to ask, who
- 19:53Speaker 6: in your life is a scrubber?
- 19:55Speaker 2: And Stephen looks and goes and looks over James scrubber.
- 20:00Speaker 1: That wasn't on the prep. Yeah, they're like scrubber.
- 20:04Speaker 2: And I'm like, you, guys, I'm so sorry.
- 20:06Speaker 1: Tanya is thinking she shocked that you're here. It did
- 20:10Speaker 1: not go the way I expected. So for future, I
- 20:14Speaker 1: will never ask that question again. Yeah.
- 20:16Speaker 2: These two men who were just like here because their
- 20:19Speaker 2: team sent them here, They're like, yeah, scrubber, scrubber, scrubber, scrubber,
- 20:23Speaker 2: scrubbers a scrubber.
- 20:26Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 20:26Speaker 2: They were so nice and so kind and we'd love
- 20:31Speaker 2: to have them back. But afterwards we were kind of
- 20:34Speaker 2: rushed because they did have an interview right after us.
- 20:37Speaker 2: And normally after we'll do like a tick. If we
- 20:39Speaker 2: have a plan to do a TikTok or photos, we
- 20:42Speaker 2: do it after we record.
- 20:43Speaker 1: Yeah, but we always take photos. Photos are a must.
- 20:45Speaker 2: Yeah, we always take a photo and then I always
- 20:48Speaker 2: try to find a TikTok that we can do if
- 20:50Speaker 2: they're willing to do it. And so we were rush
- 20:52Speaker 2: and we took photos and I was like, oh, shoot,
- 20:55Speaker 2: we don't have time to do a TikTok and they
- 20:57Speaker 2: were like, oh darn, like they were definitely thrilled to
- 21:01Speaker 2: have missed my proposition of.
- 21:04Speaker 1: Doing at So the best part is they come back
- 21:06Speaker 1: into this room to like do whatever else they were doing.
- 21:08Speaker 1: And here's some other interviews interviews. Beck and I fully
- 21:13Speaker 1: let go. We do like a full dance recital. We
- 21:16Speaker 1: have like a whole thing.
- 21:17Speaker 2: Well no, because we asked, we go, oh, is this
- 21:19Speaker 2: a long interview they're doing? And and Sam was like,
- 21:22Speaker 2: so we were waiting for that. Sam goes, they should be.
- 21:24Speaker 2: They should finish soon if you want to do it.
- 21:26Speaker 2: So I go, okay, Tanya, I'm going to teach you
- 21:28Speaker 2: a dance and we'll do a dance thing and then
- 21:30Speaker 2: if if they're done when we finish, I'll ask them.
- 21:35Speaker 1: So then I go to we go, We start walking.
- 21:39Speaker 2: We see that they're done, and I'm like, the door's open.
- 21:43Speaker 1: We can't ask them. We can't ask it's so embarrassing,
- 21:45Speaker 1: like it's been an hour, like this is so awkward.
- 21:48Speaker 1: We kept waiting for this.
- 21:49Speaker 2: This is so awkward, and I'm like, honestly, what what
- 21:52Speaker 2: am I trying? I'm not trying to be best friends
- 21:54Speaker 2: with them? You know when am I going to see
- 21:56Speaker 2: them again?
- 21:57Speaker 1: There's no night.
- 21:58Speaker 2: And you know what Becca did said if not me,
- 22:01Speaker 2: who and if not here?
- 22:03Speaker 1: Never wait?
- 22:04Speaker 2: Oh yeah, no truly, And so I just set herself.
- 22:08Speaker 6: In here and said, I said, I know y'all thought
- 22:11Speaker 6: y'all got away with it, not without doing a TikTok,
- 22:14Speaker 6: but I'm bad.
- 22:17Speaker 2: And I showed them the video and they were totally down.
- 22:19Speaker 2: It was easy enough. They didn't have to do anything.
- 22:21Speaker 1: And I will say I give you full credit for that.
- 22:24Speaker 1: I never ever would have asked them to do it.
- 22:27Speaker 1: I would not have done it myself. Had it not
- 22:29Speaker 1: been for you, we wouldn't have gotten it. It was epic.
- 22:33Speaker 2: Thank you so much.
- 22:34Speaker 1: But I'm trying to I still want to get my
- 22:37Speaker 1: photo with James. I really wanted a photo with like
- 22:39Speaker 1: me and my boyfriend. And Betho was like, Kwandi one
- 22:42Speaker 1: one of the two of you, and I was like,
- 22:43Speaker 1: I can't, I can't, I can't. Yeah, now the time
- 22:45Speaker 1: is gone and it's like why not. I know, you know,
- 22:48Speaker 1: it passed and poof, I don't have my photo.
- 22:52Speaker 2: Well maybe we can have them back on and we
- 22:54Speaker 2: can get you a photo with him.
- 22:55Speaker 4: I'm so jealous that I was not here for that.
- 22:58Speaker 4: I was on assignment out of the country. Yeah. I
- 23:01Speaker 4: was such a big Laguna Beach fan. And like we
- 23:04Speaker 4: they came on with Jana like in twenty eighteen or
- 23:07Speaker 4: something like right when we all started the podcast talking
- 23:10Speaker 4: about this project that they're it's finally out, Like it's like, oh,
- 23:13Speaker 4: it's been so you know that that series they're working
- 23:15Speaker 4: on has been so long in the making. And when
- 23:19Speaker 4: I saw it was kind of on screaming in. I
- 23:20Speaker 4: got all excited and I'm so sad I wasn't here. Yeah,
- 23:22Speaker 4: great episode though, it.
- 23:23Speaker 1: Was pretty epic. He was.
- 23:25Speaker 2: They were both so nice.
- 23:26Speaker 1: They were so nice, and you know what's interesting, I'm
- 23:30Speaker 1: like really starting to like look at men differently now.
- 23:35Speaker 4: Interesting.
- 23:36Speaker 1: Yeah, I know it is interesting because I think I'm like,
- 23:39Speaker 1: maybe it's my age, I'm not really sure, but I
- 23:43Speaker 1: think a lot of men are creeps can be creeps, amen,
- 23:47Speaker 1: And so when they're not and they I don't get
- 23:50Speaker 1: creep energy from them, like it really like blows my mind.
- 23:54Speaker 1: I didn't get creep energy Zerau creep energy from either
- 23:57Speaker 1: of them times a million. Like they are loyal, loving
- 24:03Speaker 1: family men that like are in this weird, crazy industry,
- 24:09Speaker 1: Like no creep at all. Yeah, yeah, I feel like
- 24:12Speaker 1: they're amazing.
- 24:13Speaker 2: Do you have any other like got people from that
- 24:17Speaker 2: era of television that you'd love to have on the
- 24:19Speaker 2: podcast right off the top of your head?
- 24:22Speaker 1: Yeah, anybody from Vampire Diaries, anybody from Gossip Girl? Yeah,
- 24:30Speaker 1: but it's different with women. Oh you're about men?
- 24:33Speaker 2: Yeah? Oh okay, so yeah.
- 24:36Speaker 1: Paul Wesley, uh who Gossip Girl, Penn Badge, le.
- 24:44Speaker 2: Penn Badge, he has a podcast. We could maybe get
- 24:48Speaker 2: him on.
- 24:51Speaker 1: The Stars.
- 24:52Speaker 2: No, you're all about like we can get Patrick Dempsey
- 24:55Speaker 2: blah blah blah. And then it's someone that like feels
- 24:57Speaker 2: relatively possible, and you're like, I laugh.
- 25:02Speaker 1: I didn't laugh at that snicker maybe a little snicker.
- 25:07Speaker 2: But you're you're like, we need Emmy Award winning Sandra, Oh,
- 25:11Speaker 2: like we can get her, and then it's like we
- 25:13Speaker 2: can't get Penn Bachelor.
- 25:14Speaker 1: I feel like we can get Pitt and Bachelor. Would
- 25:16Speaker 1: do you have anybody like that? Chad Michael Murray. You
- 25:19Speaker 1: love Chad Michael Murray.
- 25:20Speaker 2: I mean, I'd be happy to have John Michael Murray.
- 25:23Speaker 2: But i'd love like Hillary Duff or someone like I
- 25:28Speaker 2: would love some just you know, I'm thinking millennial.
- 25:33Speaker 3: Man.
- 25:34Speaker 1: M that's tough for me.
- 25:37Speaker 4: Adam Brody, Oh.
- 25:38Speaker 2: I'd like to have Adam Brody.
- 25:40Speaker 4: Yes to only talk about the yes.
- 25:44Speaker 2: No, no, Yeah, I'll think on it. Shoot for the Stars,
- 25:54Speaker 2: I was, I thought, because Haley met Sandra at the
- 25:57Speaker 2: Gold Gallo last year, and so I I just knew
- 26:00Speaker 2: she was gonna be there and it was gonna be
- 26:01Speaker 2: my moment, but she wasn't there two next time. So
- 26:07Speaker 2: speaking of men, I speaking of there's a little bit
- 26:11Speaker 2: of discourse right now about I feel like we've probably
- 26:14Speaker 2: touched on this before, but men wearing flip flops, and
- 26:18Speaker 2: I feel like I used to have it maybe a
- 26:21Speaker 2: different opinion on this than I do now, And I
- 26:24Speaker 2: wanted to get your opinion, which I think I know
- 26:26Speaker 2: because you're like you're having an aversion to feet in.
- 26:29Speaker 1: General, major foot version.
- 26:31Speaker 2: Yeah, but do you feel that way about Robbie's feet?
- 26:33Speaker 1: So I love Robbie's feet, like I think his feet
- 26:36Speaker 1: are gorgeous. I think that he could like model his feet,
- 26:39Speaker 1: Like if you think the hands are good, waits to
- 26:43Speaker 1: those feet.
- 26:44Speaker 2: Uh huh.
- 26:45Speaker 1: However, only I should see his feet. Oh interesting, His
- 26:50Speaker 1: feet do not need to be out prancing around town.
- 26:53Speaker 1: But I'm so grateful because he's the same way as me,
- 26:56Speaker 1: Like he would never have the dogs out like walking
- 26:58Speaker 1: around town, so you would not catch him in a
- 27:02Speaker 1: flip flop unless he's like at the beach.
- 27:04Speaker 2: I used to feel very strongly I think about men
- 27:07Speaker 2: showing their feet and just being one against it, But
- 27:11Speaker 2: I've changed my tune on it. What Yeah, because I
- 27:14Speaker 2: think if you have well groomed and manicured feet, which.
- 27:20Speaker 1: Which all men do.
- 27:22Speaker 2: Yeah. No, I'm that I'm saying there are specifics here, okay,
- 27:26Speaker 2: But I feel that way about women too, Like I
- 27:28Speaker 2: don't want to see your feet if they're not manicured
- 27:30Speaker 2: and like taking care of in general just people. But
- 27:34Speaker 2: I'm like, we're I think we're being a little too
- 27:37Speaker 2: hard about men and their footwear. I think if they
- 27:40Speaker 2: take care of their feet, they should be able to
- 27:42Speaker 2: If they have a linen shirt and pants on, what
- 27:45Speaker 2: are they supposed to wear like a clover?
- 27:48Speaker 1: A low fer, like a like a like, I don't
- 27:50Speaker 1: know what they're called.
- 27:51Speaker 2: But like a beach town a Tom.
- 27:55Speaker 1: A Tom, Robbie's gonna wear Tom's in the sand.
- 28:00Speaker 2: I'd rather see a man with nice feet in a
- 28:03Speaker 2: flop than a Tom. Yeah, you heard it here from
- 28:08Speaker 2: Wow hot tag. I just think that they should be
- 28:14Speaker 2: able to express I like wearing a flip flop. I
- 28:16Speaker 2: think it looks cute with a like linen flowy pant,
- 28:18Speaker 2: and I feel like a man should be able to
- 28:20Speaker 2: express himself and a flop wow. Yeah, but you do have.
- 28:25Speaker 1: To take care of the feet, yeah, and many men
- 28:27Speaker 1: don't and some women don't.
- 28:29Speaker 2: Correct and if you're and also if you're brave enough
- 28:32Speaker 2: and you feel emboldened to go out there with your ungroomed,
- 28:35Speaker 2: manicured feet, more power to you.
- 28:40Speaker 1: Tom gets a nightmare. I will never get over the
- 28:43Speaker 1: image when we're flying back from the Bahamas and I
- 28:46Speaker 1: was next to that girl on the airplane and her
- 28:49Speaker 1: dogs were out on the plane. No, it's a totally
- 28:52Speaker 1: different situation though. I was just like totally shook when
- 28:56Speaker 1: I see people flip flopping around at the airport on
- 28:59Speaker 1: the plane.
- 29:00Speaker 2: Actually, I'm against a thousand percent any gender, you have.
- 29:03Speaker 1: To wear clothed tod on a plane. You can't go
- 29:06Speaker 1: on rides at Disneyland with your toes out, Like why
- 29:09Speaker 1: would you get on an airplane with your toes? It's
- 29:11Speaker 1: dangerous machinery. Yes, you're around heavy machinery that could fall
- 29:15Speaker 1: on your toes.
- 29:17Speaker 2: Like you know what, like enters through your feet.
- 29:21Speaker 1: The feet are like the epicenter of the body.
- 29:24Speaker 2: I don't know if that's scientifically correct, but I do think.
- 29:28Speaker 1: Do you must start doing what I've been seeing this
- 29:30Speaker 1: on Instagram. But basically, you like step you you get
- 29:34Speaker 1: like a like you know, like the silver platters in
- 29:37Speaker 1: the kitchen, like a silver platter you like put in
- 29:40Speaker 1: the oven or whatever. Yeah, you put you're talking about
- 29:43Speaker 1: like a baking sheet, sure, like a big one that
- 29:45Speaker 1: can step on, and you put salt on it and
- 29:49Speaker 1: you put your bare feet in it for ten minutes
- 29:51Speaker 1: the salt and apparently supposed to have like amazing benefits
- 29:56Speaker 1: deeper sleep, better digestion.
- 29:58Speaker 2: Because you just to grab some salt. Bath.
- 30:01Speaker 1: So I'm also having like a little bit of a
- 30:03Speaker 1: bath version right now. Oh my gosh, are you good?
- 30:06Speaker 1: What's happening?
- 30:07Speaker 2: You're you're taking in too much content on social media
- 30:10Speaker 2: or do you think, well, yeah, who told you that
- 30:12Speaker 2: was bad or something?
- 30:13Speaker 1: Every time I was bad. It's just like my preference
- 30:15Speaker 1: right now, Like I just like don't enjoy being submerged
- 30:19Speaker 1: in water. I don't really enjoy swimming right now.
- 30:23Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 30:24Speaker 1: Is it because your feet are out too vulnerable having
- 30:29Speaker 1: to look at your feet? And I don't know what
- 30:31Speaker 1: it is, to be honest, I think it's like cold.
- 30:34Speaker 1: I guess the bath is warm, yeah, same with a shower. Yeah,
- 30:40Speaker 1: I don't know, but I'm gonna try this this foot thing.
- 30:43Speaker 2: We were in the like pool, hot dog whatever yesterday
- 30:46Speaker 2: and we were like doing holding your breath contest and
- 30:50Speaker 2: handstand contest, and Hailey's like, you're literally a child. I
- 30:53Speaker 2: was like, time me, I'm gonna go under and see
- 30:56Speaker 2: how I can hold my breath.
- 30:58Speaker 1: I'm not being submerged in water, you do. I love it.
- 31:02Speaker 1: It's so.
- 31:05Speaker 2: Yeah, you know me scorp Yeah, no, I love it.
- 31:10Speaker 2: So I'm very I'm on a very opposite journey, you
- 31:13Speaker 2: know I was.
- 31:14Speaker 1: I'm in the water.
- 31:15Speaker 2: I'm pro flip flops for men, I'm pro bath, I'm
- 31:19Speaker 2: pro submersion of water.
- 31:22Speaker 1: Yeah, it's tough living in this head. Try living.
- 31:28Speaker 2: Keep her busy, otherwise she'll go on these these journeys.
- 31:32Speaker 1: You wait till you see me after this forty day
- 31:34Speaker 1: workbook that I'm doing this. I love that.
- 31:36Speaker 2: We'll do anything but start the Artist Way.
- 31:39Speaker 1: Why can I tell you something about this feels like
- 31:41Speaker 1: a really good entry into the Artist Way for me
- 31:44Speaker 1: because it's forty days. The Artist Way is seven weeks.
- 31:49Speaker 1: How many days is that? Sometimes seven forty nine, sometimes seven.
- 31:53Speaker 1: It's not that much different.
- 31:55Speaker 2: Yeah, but yeah, I don't know why we're maybe because
- 32:00Speaker 2: we know it's going to be life changing.
- 32:01Speaker 1: So I'm not ready for the life change, like I've
- 32:04Speaker 1: had a lot of like change in my life. He's
- 32:07Speaker 1: up on the change.
- 32:09Speaker 2: My brain, though, for some reason, is like you can't
- 32:12Speaker 2: start it on any day but Monday.
- 32:14Speaker 1: Oh so I was on a Sunday.
- 32:16Speaker 2: Oh interesting, because I keep going every Sunday. I'm like,
- 32:19Speaker 2: I'm going to start the Artist Way tomorrow, and then
- 32:20Speaker 2: I don't do it, and then I'm like, well, next week,
- 32:22Speaker 2: I'll do it.
- 32:23Speaker 1: So maybe this will be the springboard to get us
- 32:26Speaker 1: in because I started it on Saturday, and this book
- 32:29Speaker 1: is like very digestible. It's like maybe like two or
- 32:31Speaker 1: three pages a day, and you have like exercises every day.
- 32:33Speaker 1: But it's very like doable and I'm very enjoying it.
- 32:38Speaker 1: I've only done it two days now, Saturday, Sunday, Monday,
- 32:40Speaker 1: three days. Yeah, but I'm loving it.
- 32:42Speaker 2: Okay, Well that's good, good momentum. Yeah. Did you see
- 32:46Speaker 2: in the video of Lisa Kudro talking about how horrible
- 32:51Speaker 2: of a boyfriend Ross.
- 32:52Speaker 1: Was to Rachel? No? She did.
- 32:56Speaker 2: I think she was on a talk show or something,
- 32:57Speaker 2: and she basically was saying, like he was a horrible
- 33:00Speaker 2: boyfriend and like he they were.
- 33:03Speaker 1: I think she her her take.
- 33:05Speaker 2: Is that they were not on a break, like they
- 33:07Speaker 2: were just having a fight because he was upset that
- 33:10Speaker 2: she was working and he was horrible to her and
- 33:14Speaker 2: then tried to like turn it on her. And this
- 33:17Speaker 2: argument kills me because I love Rachel and Ross together.
- 33:21Speaker 2: They were like one of my I watched edits of them.
- 33:24Speaker 1: I love and Rachel together. Did you watch video edits?
- 33:27Speaker 1: Did she see my post about that? I don't watch
- 33:29Speaker 1: video edits. My algorithm is very different. Serrie Fields on
- 33:34Speaker 1: Survivor doing with her eyelash. They're staying on for forty.
- 33:37Speaker 2: Days I'm talking about like when you were younger and
- 33:41Speaker 2: loved TV shows and we didn't have social media. You
- 33:43Speaker 2: do YouTube edits.
- 33:46Speaker 1: Interesting.
- 33:46Speaker 4: I saw your post about that, and because to me
- 33:48Speaker 4: that that's a fairly occurrence the edits, Like I was not,
- 33:53Speaker 4: They did not come across my desk until like, oh.
- 33:55Speaker 2: My god, Derek and Meredith edits on YouTube to a
- 34:00Speaker 2: gut wrenching song. I would watch over and over again.
- 34:04Speaker 1: No.
- 34:04Speaker 2: I did the same with Rosse and Rachel.
- 34:06Speaker 1: I would.
- 34:06Speaker 2: I would exclusively watch the seasons when they were together,
- 34:10Speaker 2: only of friends for a long time.
- 34:13Speaker 1: Did you see the news about Moura Higgins leaving after
- 34:17Speaker 1: some you don't care.
- 34:21Speaker 2: I don't not care, but I didn't see it. So
- 34:23Speaker 2: she's leaving, Sierah Miller and Kelly are joining. Yes, yeh,
- 34:27Speaker 2: they're the new hosts.
- 34:28Speaker 1: But do you know what that means that Maura is No,
- 34:32Speaker 1: it means that in a new season of Love Island
- 34:34Speaker 1: is upon us June second.
- 34:35Speaker 2: Yeah, didn't they release a trailer or something they did?
- 34:38Speaker 1: I thought I saw someone.
- 34:39Speaker 2: Say there was a trailer, or like maybe just Ariano
- 34:42Speaker 2: Maddox like talking about it coming out, or.
- 34:44Speaker 1: I haven't seen a trailer. I would be.
- 34:47Speaker 2: I don't think they showed any contestants, but there's rumors
- 34:49Speaker 2: that uh Jana Jana Janney from Yes Janey, that she's
- 34:57Speaker 2: coming back or something. That's a speculation, but that's what
- 35:02Speaker 2: I saw. I don't think i'd like that.
- 35:04Speaker 1: No, I think it needs to be all new and
- 35:06Speaker 1: it needs power dynamic.
- 35:08Speaker 2: I tried to watch season five of Love isolind Uk
- 35:12Speaker 2: again and.
- 35:12Speaker 1: I couldn't get through it. Again.
- 35:14Speaker 2: There's no way because the people tell you talk about,
- 35:17Speaker 2: like Molly and Tommy aren't even in the original cast.
- 35:21Speaker 1: Yeah, of course you have to like it. Watch you
- 35:23Speaker 1: have to watch the season, but no one at the
- 35:25Speaker 1: beginning it strikes me as like, interesting, who's that in
- 35:28Speaker 1: the beginning, I couldn't tell you. Oh my gosh, the
- 35:31Speaker 1: whole season was amazing, top to bottom.
- 35:34Speaker 2: You can't force it, is what I've realized. Dang Haley
- 35:37Speaker 2: is caught up on Survivor by the way, She's.
- 35:39Speaker 1: Caught up goodness, someone I have.
- 35:41Speaker 2: Yeah, so she's more than willing to talk sol I'm
- 35:45Speaker 2: barely paying attention, by the way, and she's like, this
- 35:47Speaker 2: is the craziest episode.
- 35:50Speaker 3: No.
- 35:50Speaker 1: Also she doesn't understand. So spoiler alert if you are
- 35:52Speaker 1: not caught up on Survivor, You're about to get a
- 35:54Speaker 1: major spoiler. But Ozzie was voted out this last week.
- 36:00Speaker 1: And if you don't understand the lore with Ozzy, like
- 36:03Speaker 1: he has played many times and he is like known
- 36:05Speaker 1: as the guy who went home from a Survivor with
- 36:09Speaker 1: an idol in his pocket, So that was like his legacy.
- 36:13Speaker 1: So the fact that he's not playing on Survivor fifty
- 36:15Speaker 1: and he went home again with an idol in his
- 36:18Speaker 1: pocket is just like so devastating. Why do wait?
- 36:25Speaker 2: I thought an idol blocks you from being able to becase,
- 36:27Speaker 2: but you have to play it.
- 36:29Speaker 1: Oh, So they're like, why would you not play the
- 36:32Speaker 1: idol if you have any sniff that you're going home
- 36:36Speaker 1: that night? Why would you not play your idol? And
- 36:38Speaker 1: then also like, okay, shame on me once. I did
- 36:41Speaker 1: it once back in two thousand and eight. Surely on
- 36:44Speaker 1: season fifty, I learned my lesson. Yeah he did not.
- 36:47Speaker 2: It's like it's like in baseball when you let three
- 36:52Speaker 2: strikes go by without swinging because you're scared you're gonna miss.
- 36:55Speaker 1: Yeah, you want to hold onto it because you think like, oh,
- 36:57Speaker 1: I'm good this round, and you want to hold onto it.
- 37:00Speaker 1: So who are you rooting for? Well, Ozzie was my
- 37:02Speaker 1: number one and now he's gone. Yeah that was devastating.
- 37:05Speaker 1: I mean my heart was shattered. So who are you?
- 37:07Speaker 2: Who?
- 37:07Speaker 3: Who are you?
- 37:08Speaker 2: Now?
- 37:08Speaker 1: I'm rooting for Sorie. She likes yeah, and she's played.
- 37:13Speaker 1: She's we got to get her on the podcast. She
- 37:17Speaker 1: has magical powers. Like the way she can sway people
- 37:20Speaker 1: and how they haven't voted her out like right away
- 37:22Speaker 1: is crazy to me.
- 37:24Speaker 2: She's calm, she's respected, and there's a likability to her
- 37:32Speaker 2: that doesn't feel like she's too forced or anything. Yeah,
- 37:35Speaker 2: and I think that's what it is. And there's a
- 37:37Speaker 2: very specific personality type that you have to be in
- 37:39Speaker 2: Survivor to get people to not vote you out.
- 37:43Speaker 1: People were saying, so Serene and Ozzie were like in
- 37:47Speaker 1: an alliance together, and this last episode they split the
- 37:50Speaker 1: tribe into two and they did two vote offs, and
- 37:52Speaker 1: Ozzie and Siri were split into two different tribes. And
- 37:55Speaker 1: people were like, the one minute that Ozzie's away from Syria,
- 37:57Speaker 1: he can't he just set up for himself. I'm like,
- 38:00Speaker 1: it's true.
- 38:01Speaker 2: So what happens?
- 38:03Speaker 1: What happens when you don't have the power around. Yeah,
- 38:07Speaker 1: ain't that the truth? My friend? Is that not the truth?
- 38:10Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 38:27Speaker 2: We're back. Have you listened to Noah Cullen's new album?
- 38:31Speaker 1: Have you listened to Megan Trainers album? No?
- 38:33Speaker 2: But I cannot stress enough to you how much you
- 38:39Speaker 2: need to listen to this album.
- 38:40Speaker 1: It's I can't stress you enough. How good this Megan Trainer? Although,
- 38:43Speaker 1: do you know what's interesting? But I haven't seen so
- 38:46Speaker 1: many Megan Trainer haters.
- 38:48Speaker 5: It's like weird like singing her songs.
- 38:52Speaker 1: I'm talking about how much I like them. So I'm like,
- 38:54Speaker 1: why is my algorithm feeding me Megan Trainer hate when
- 38:57Speaker 1: I'm like clearly a fan.
- 38:58Speaker 2: Okay, So I I cannot figure this out because it's
- 39:02Speaker 2: one thing to not like someone's music. There's so many
- 39:04Speaker 2: people where I don't listen to their music just because
- 39:06Speaker 2: it's not my style or whatever. I just choose not
- 39:09Speaker 2: to listen to it. But I don't need to hate
- 39:12Speaker 2: that artist for it. It's just that's not my style.
- 39:14Speaker 2: For whatever reason, people have gotten so comfortable hating her
- 39:18Speaker 2: and bullying her, and she doesn't In my mind, I'm like,
- 39:22Speaker 2: she doesn't do anything to anybody. Yeah, unless I miss something.
- 39:25Speaker 2: I'm like, why does she get so much unsolicited hate?
- 39:28Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, my entire algorithm is like so much
- 39:32Speaker 1: hate from like her outfits, trying to be Sabrina Carpenter,
- 39:36Speaker 1: to her weight loss, her body's yeah, the music, how
- 39:41Speaker 1: she can't make it. I'm like, you're actually like it's
- 39:44Speaker 1: actually inaccurate, Like she's made like a lot of amazing hits.
- 39:48Speaker 2: But my thing is if it's not your style or
- 39:50Speaker 2: she's not your your favorite artist, that's fine.
- 39:53Speaker 1: But you know what's crazy. I just find it so
- 39:56Speaker 1: insane that our world is so crazy that you could
- 40:00Speaker 1: go on TikTok and you could see five hundred reviews
- 40:04Speaker 1: of the Devil Wars Prada two and how horrible it is,
- 40:08Speaker 1: And then if you're on a different algorithm, you can
- 40:10Speaker 1: see five hundred reviews of the Devil Wors product too
- 40:13Speaker 1: and how amazing it was. It's like, it just depends
- 40:15Speaker 1: on what side of the algorithm you're on and what
- 40:17Speaker 1: you're getting.
- 40:17Speaker 2: Like fat, I don't want to be on someone getting
- 40:21Speaker 2: hated on unless it's a bad person. I don't want
- 40:23Speaker 2: to be on the algorithm. So I always am just like,
- 40:26Speaker 2: why are people so comfortable being so mean to someone who,
- 40:31Speaker 2: from what I've gathered and know about Megan Trainers just
- 40:34Speaker 2: put like positivity and fun and try to make fun
- 40:37Speaker 2: music out.
- 40:37Speaker 1: Yeah, like so what she maybe sounds a little doo woppy?
- 40:39Speaker 1: I get good?
- 40:44Speaker 5: Yes, ye, no good for you to get gone, Get
- 40:48Speaker 5: gone and tell that boy too to lou.
- 40:51Speaker 1: Whoa nice yeah.
- 40:53Speaker 2: But what I will say about Noha Khan speaking, I
- 40:56Speaker 2: watched this documentary too. Oh while you're deep in Oh
- 40:59Speaker 2: my god, I I love him. We're going to see
- 41:01Speaker 2: him this summer. I'm like, where are you seeing him
- 41:03Speaker 2: in San Diego?
- 41:04Speaker 1: Where?
- 41:05Speaker 3: What?
- 41:05Speaker 1: Theater at pat Co Park?
- 41:06Speaker 4: Oh?
- 41:09Speaker 2: He is doing stadiums. We've moved on from theaters. But
- 41:13Speaker 2: he does such a great job. He sings about things
- 41:16Speaker 2: that I would find so difficult to talk about, like
- 41:19Speaker 2: the challenges of family dynamics and relationships and your parents
- 41:25Speaker 2: dynamic and it's so real and I always am so
- 41:29Speaker 2: impressed that he has found a way to sing about
- 41:31Speaker 2: it and write about it in a way that's just
- 41:34Speaker 2: makes people feel seen. And it must be challenging for
- 41:37Speaker 2: his parents to hear it. You know, I always think
- 41:40Speaker 2: about how I don't talk about any of anything about
- 41:43Speaker 2: my family as much as possible, because in my mind,
- 41:45Speaker 2: I'm like, well, I chose this life where I share
- 41:49Speaker 2: my life, but they didn't choose it. So I try
- 41:52Speaker 2: to be respectful of like talking about my family and stuff,
- 41:56Speaker 2: because I think that's challenging and very nuanced and how
- 42:01Speaker 2: you do it. But I just stay away from it because,
- 42:03Speaker 2: like I said, I chose this lifestyle, they didn't. But
- 42:06Speaker 2: he puts it all out there and he writes about
- 42:10Speaker 2: it so beautifully.
- 42:10Speaker 1: What does he say about it?
- 42:12Speaker 2: Just like the thing he talks about, like just this complication,
- 42:16Speaker 2: the lyrics about his dad and like some of his
- 42:19Speaker 2: I mean, even in Stick Season he talks about like
- 42:22Speaker 2: cancel out the the bad parts from my dad and
- 42:27Speaker 2: stuff like he just talks about things that are so like.
- 42:31Speaker 1: Tell me, I need you to listen to the album
- 42:33Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, but you can.
- 42:36Speaker 2: He has a song called Orbiter, and I thought it
- 42:39Speaker 2: was a romance, like a love song, and I actually
- 42:41Speaker 2: posted a video of me and Haley to it, but
- 42:44Speaker 2: I've been seeing videos talking about how it's about his
- 42:47Speaker 2: mom and how he views her and it's this beautiful song.
- 42:52Speaker 1: What's the song about about?
- 42:55Speaker 2: The lyric is like I'm an Astronaut, You're the Moon,
- 42:58Speaker 2: like I stare at you, I see to you. And
- 43:00Speaker 2: it's about them going to the Grammys and him losing
- 43:02Speaker 2: his first Grammy and like her being there with him
- 43:05Speaker 2: and him getting to basically sing her through his eyes.
- 43:09Speaker 2: It's just beautiful. But anyways, his music's amazing.
- 43:12Speaker 1: I love him. That is one of those people where
- 43:14Speaker 1: you're like I love lyrics, No, and you're like, tell
- 43:18Speaker 1: me about the movie. You're like, you just have to
- 43:19Speaker 1: see it. I'm like, no, just tell me. I will
- 43:21Speaker 1: go see the movie. Even if you tell me the
- 43:24Speaker 1: ending of the movie. I will still see the movie.
- 43:26Speaker 2: Well, I just gave you lyrics.
- 43:29Speaker 1: You just have to listen. You just have to try it.
- 43:31Speaker 2: Yeah, there's this other song called like Downfall, and it's
- 43:34Speaker 2: basically about like praying for someone's downfall, but in a
- 43:36Speaker 2: way of like I hope You're like, I can't remember
- 43:40Speaker 2: the exactly, it's kind of like I hope that like
- 43:43Speaker 2: traffic's bad, or I hope your pillows warm, you know,
- 43:45Speaker 2: like that kind of stuff.
- 43:46Speaker 1: It's so funny you say that, because Megan Tranner has
- 43:48Speaker 1: a song like that well parallels. It's called Chef's Kiss
- 43:52Speaker 1: and the lyrics are literally, I hope you get a
- 43:56Speaker 1: little a little bit of choke on your food, a
- 43:59Speaker 1: little bit you'll lose an any bitty rock in your shoes,
- 44:03Speaker 1: That's what I'm talking about, a little bit of she
- 44:06Speaker 1: cheats on you, a little bit of iceberg on your cruise,
- 44:10Speaker 1: a little bit of salt in your wounds.
- 44:13Speaker 2: Well, his is more like a poetic like, Yeah, it's
- 44:22Speaker 2: basically like I hope this street lights bleed into your bedroom,
- 44:27Speaker 2: you know, like when you can't sleep because the street
- 44:29Speaker 2: lights are coming into your curtains and you can't sleep,
- 44:31Speaker 2: and it's not too deep for you. But also Chapel
- 44:38Speaker 2: Rone has her song My Kink is Karma. That's what
- 44:42Speaker 2: she talks about. It's basically like Kara's going to catch you.
- 44:46Speaker 1: You know. Did you see all the discourse about Jake
- 44:48Speaker 1: Shane and his interview with Kazy Musgraves.
- 44:51Speaker 2: Oh yeah, he asked about so when he asked.
- 44:56Speaker 1: About the lyric from Shooting Hole.
- 45:00Speaker 2: She's basically like, I'm in Tennessee and people are waking up.
- 45:04Speaker 1: And ad I'm gonna find it because it's just too
- 45:07Speaker 1: It's a very straightforward lyrics.
- 45:09Speaker 2: Yeah about time zones, Yes, And he's like, I love
- 45:13Speaker 2: the lyric, What did you mean by that?
- 45:17Speaker 4: He's like, thus slow burn and the lyric is in Tennessee,
- 45:19Speaker 4: the sun's going down, but in Beijing they're heading out
- 45:21Speaker 4: to work. Yes, yes, I love to hate on Jake Shane.
- 45:24Speaker 4: Let me just say I do.
- 45:26Speaker 3: I do.
- 45:26Speaker 4: I find him to be an awful interviewer. However, I
- 45:30Speaker 4: want to stick up for him here because I think
- 45:32Speaker 4: he was looking for a deeper meaning in that lyric.
- 45:35Speaker 4: There's like something else going on, like why those two
- 45:39Speaker 4: specific places? Why did she choose that? And she did
- 45:42Speaker 4: not have an answer for him, which I'd go back
- 45:44Speaker 4: because he's like he looks really he's you know, everyone's
- 45:46Speaker 4: like roasting him, just mercilessly, like, oh, this is a
- 45:48Speaker 4: pretty straightforward lyric. Why are you so confused by it?
- 45:51Speaker 4: I would have looked I would have done a similar thing.
- 45:53Speaker 4: So I think it's fine.
- 45:55Speaker 2: I actually love Jake Shane and his interview where he
- 45:59Speaker 2: is interviewing have you seen this interview with Ed sheeran no,
- 46:02Speaker 2: and he goes yeah, when you're like, don't work like
- 46:07Speaker 2: they used to before? And he like laughs out loud
- 46:10Speaker 2: and then Ed goes, yeah, it was about my grandma
- 46:13Speaker 2: when she couldn't walk anymore, and Jake's like, oh, I
- 46:18Speaker 2: love him so I but I love that she she
- 46:21Speaker 2: didn't even try to give him a deeper meaning.
- 46:23Speaker 1: She's like, yeah, just means what it says time zones
- 46:27Speaker 1: and like people are just ripping him apart, and I'm like,
- 46:32Speaker 1: I'm with you. I thought, I mean, I thought the
- 46:35Speaker 1: lyric was very straightforward. I've never once wondered like, what
- 46:37Speaker 1: does she mean by this? But I feel like when
- 46:39Speaker 1: you're talking to musicians like and super serious musicians, like
- 46:43Speaker 1: I've never interviewed Casey Musgraves, but I feel like I
- 46:45Speaker 1: would take it very seriously, you know what I mean?
- 46:47Speaker 1: Like I would ask her all like the deep meetings
- 46:49Speaker 1: behind things.
- 46:50Speaker 2: And so I think she's an artist who writes pretty
- 46:53Speaker 2: straightforward lyrics. I don't think she's you don't. I don't
- 46:56Speaker 2: think you really have to decode things from her.
- 46:57Speaker 1: Well, I feel like that's art is the hands of
- 47:01Speaker 1: the beholder, do you know what I mean? Like I
- 47:03Speaker 1: decode the out of her stuff, and that's that's how
- 47:07Speaker 1: I like take all music. But I feel like you
- 47:10Speaker 1: sometimes when you're interviewing somebody that's like a super serious musician,
- 47:13Speaker 1: like they like to be asked that stuff about like
- 47:15Speaker 1: what's the meaning behind this, and like they like you
- 47:17Speaker 1: pulling apart their lyrics, And so I love to interview
- 47:20Speaker 1: a coon, then I would love to interview a con Yeah,
- 47:23Speaker 1: but I do. I also to feel bad of all
- 47:27Speaker 1: the hate that he's getting from it, because people are going.
- 47:30Speaker 2: In once you get though, like once you he's so
- 47:33Speaker 2: popular and if our podcast was that popular and people
- 47:37Speaker 2: watch our interviews, we would get roasted.
- 47:39Speaker 1: It's just the facts. Sometimes I'm grateful that we're not available.
- 47:47Speaker 2: Sometimes I feel grateful for loyal.
- 47:50Speaker 1: Yes, interviews really depend on the person that you're interviewing,
- 47:55Speaker 1: do you know what I mean? Like, if you're interviewing
- 47:57Speaker 1: someone that's super serious and not playful and you're a
- 47:59Speaker 1: playful person, like that's going to be such a tough
- 48:02Speaker 1: interview for you to do. Yeah. I agree. Yeah, I've
- 48:05Speaker 1: had some red carpets where I'm like, oh, like, I know,
- 48:09Speaker 1: I can't be like my goofy add just like stick
- 48:12Speaker 1: to like the music, you know what I mean?
- 48:14Speaker 2: Yeah, Well, some people are down to just start.
- 48:17Speaker 1: Reading the room.
- 48:17Speaker 3: You know.
- 48:18Speaker 1: Not everybody can do it.
- 48:19Speaker 2: It's totally true. Sometimes I can, and sometimes I don't.
- 48:24Speaker 2: Sometimes I just am like panicking, wondering what my next
- 48:27Speaker 2: question is going to be. It's a really bad feeling.
- 48:30Speaker 2: And I don't think people who if you if you're
- 48:33Speaker 2: only if you haven't been in the position where you're
- 48:35Speaker 2: interviewing someone and the conversation gets cut and you're trying
- 48:38Speaker 2: to think of what do I ask next? If they're
- 48:41Speaker 2: not in the mood to chit chat. I get panicky
- 48:45Speaker 2: internally personally, yeah, and then I ask something that probably
- 48:49Speaker 2: makes no sense, and it's like why was that my?
- 48:52Speaker 1: Why was that? What came? Why did that come to
- 48:55Speaker 1: the front of mine?
- 48:56Speaker 2: What?
- 48:56Speaker 1: Also, I feel like there's like a fine like dance right,
- 48:58Speaker 1: So it's like everybody that comes in, they're coming out
- 49:01Speaker 1: to promote something, right, So it's like they're coming on
- 49:03Speaker 1: to promote something, so that's what they want to talk about,
- 49:05Speaker 1: but that's not necessarily what you want to talk about.
- 49:07Speaker 1: So it's like this dance right of how do I
- 49:11Speaker 1: talk about what you are coming on to promote? But
- 49:13Speaker 1: also like what our listeners care about exactly. It's tough,
- 49:17Speaker 1: it's not for the faint of heart.
- 49:18Speaker 2: No, we're doing hard hitting journalism here people, so well,
