MURDERED: The Gruber Family

On the evening of 31 March 1922, six people were killed at the remote Hinterkaifeck farm in rural Bavaria, Germany: farmer Andreas Gruber, his wife, his widowed daughter, two grandchildren and a newly arrived maid. The case was never solved, no one was ever charged, and evidence of an unknown presence sheltering in the farmhouse attic before the killings has never been explained. The identity of whoever lived in that attic, and whoever tended the farm animals for days after the murders, remains officially unknown.

Anyone with family records from the Schrobenhausen area of Bavaria after 1922…
