Speaker 1: Here's your host, Alex Garrett.
• 0:06
Speaker 2: All right, well, on my line right now and thanks
• 0:09
Speaker 2: to pod Match. By the way, on my line right
• 0:12
Speaker 2: now is Brian Williams. Now not the NBC guy you
• 0:17
Speaker 2: saw every night on NBC News until his big scandal,
• 0:20
Speaker 2: but an actual hero. He was a former New York
• 0:23
Speaker 2: City firefighter and now he's dealing with football safety. I
• 0:28
Speaker 2: read his bio through pod Match and I said, I've
• 0:30
Speaker 2: got to have Brian on. So Brian Williams, the hero, hero, firefighter.
• 0:36
Speaker 2: Thanks for joining me today.
• 0:38
Speaker 1: Oh, thanks for having me, ALX appreciate it.
• 0:41
Speaker 2: So let's start there, I mean the firefighting and when
• 0:44
Speaker 2: did that begin? Like, talk about your career.
• 0:47
Speaker 1: Well, first off, coming from New York a hero to
• 0:50
Speaker 1: me is just a big sandwich. So yeah, I started
• 0:57
Speaker 1: with Fire Department in ninety four. Before that, I was
• 1:02
Speaker 1: working in private security in New York City for a
• 1:07
Speaker 1: company GSS. I started with them in eighty five and
• 1:10
Speaker 1: I'm actually still with them. I do some just remote
• 1:12
Speaker 1: work now but down in Florida, but always in the
• 1:16
Speaker 1: safety business. Started out as a teenager work in construction,
• 1:20
Speaker 1: then doing security, private security, then the Fire Department. Retired
• 1:25
Speaker 1: from them in two thousand and nine and now I'm
• 1:28
Speaker 1: still still doing security until I got started with this project.
• 1:34
Speaker 2: So you were there through all nine to eleven and
• 1:37
Speaker 2: it's twenty five years.
• 1:38
Speaker 1: Yeah, we cover that.
• 1:39
Speaker 2: I mean that trauma that experienced did what role did
• 1:44
Speaker 2: you have? And you lost three hundred thirty four three
• 1:47
Speaker 2: forty three of your brethren that day?
• 1:52
Speaker 1: A little bizarre. I always credit the friend of mine,
• 1:58
Speaker 1: Willie Pade, was lieutenant, but he's also a contractor, and
• 2:01
Speaker 1: I think if it wasn't for him, my lungs would
• 2:04
Speaker 1: be a lot more damaged, because you know, he was
• 2:07
Speaker 1: the one that pointed out all that dust was just
• 2:10
Speaker 1: crushed glass and concrete. So he kind of like beat
• 2:13
Speaker 1: it into us about wearing a mask, any type of mask,
• 2:16
Speaker 1: you know, like paper masks, painter's mask, anything. So I
• 2:21
  Speaker 1: honestly a lot of it. It's a blur. Now it's
• 2:26
Speaker 1: just you go to work. The first two weeks we
• 2:28
Speaker 1: thought it was going to be recovery because we knew
• 2:31
Speaker 1: there'd be giant voids, and we thought for sure we
• 2:34
Speaker 1: were going to find someone, and we did, and then
• 2:38
Speaker 1: after that it just became a blur of going twelve
• 2:42
Speaker 1: on twelve, off, twelve on twelve, off. So you worked
• 2:45
Speaker 1: the firehouse twelve hours, then you work down there for
• 2:47
  Speaker 1: twelve hours.
• 2:49
Speaker 2: And the ladder you were at just to let us
• 2:51
  Speaker 2: know which ladder.
• 2:53
Speaker 1: So I was with fifty truck in the Bronx. So
• 2:56
Speaker 1: I was a show for for them for years, you know.
• 3:00
Speaker 1: And again everyone just went down when you weren't working
• 3:03
Speaker 1: at the firehouse. He went down for there. And I
• 3:05
Speaker 1: did that until December, and then I got promoted to Marshall,
• 3:09
Speaker 1: to the Marshalls because again guys had gotten killed and
• 3:14
Speaker 1: in fact, I think too the guys in my class
• 3:16
Speaker 1: were posthumously promoted. So it was again you're just kind
• 3:22
Speaker 1: of like you're going through the motions. We were so tired,
• 3:27
Speaker 1: but it was just a very strange time. So I
• 3:30
Speaker 1: always like to say, you know, depending on you know,
• 3:35
Speaker 1: where you are faith watching, it doesn't really matter. But
• 3:38
Speaker 1: one of the things that does stand out to me,
• 3:41
Speaker 1: and some people have seen the documentary, but most people
• 3:43
Speaker 1: have forgotten about it. The first day that we got
• 3:47
Speaker 1: down there, because I had to work that night, so
• 3:49
Speaker 1: I was down there the following morning. My first impression
• 3:54
Speaker 1: was where is it? Where is everything? You know, the
• 3:57
Speaker 1: giant building and I expected a bigger pot well, you know,
• 4:01
Speaker 1: not realizing everything was pulverized and forced down into the
• 4:04
Speaker 1: sub levels. But in the middle of all that debris
• 4:06
Speaker 1: there was one one story of an elevator shaft and
• 4:12
Speaker 1: what they didn't realize the fire exit next to it.
• 4:16
Speaker 1: So one story is about fifteen twenty feet depending on
• 4:19
Speaker 1: the buildings, and just standing in the middle of all
• 4:22
Speaker 1: that debris. It shouldn't have been there, it should not
• 4:25
Speaker 1: have stood, it should have came down with everything else. Well,
• 4:28
Speaker 1: there was a story behind that they called the Miracle
• 4:32
Speaker 1: and Stairwell B And we found out I don't know
• 4:36
Speaker 1: a week or so later, that everyone was running down
• 4:40
Speaker 1: those stairs to get out of the building because they
• 4:43
Speaker 1: said it was coming down, and an engine company was
• 4:49
Speaker 1: I think there might have been a portatory cop with him,
• 4:51
Speaker 1: but it was an engine company that was coming down,
• 4:53
Speaker 1: and it was a woman. I think she was heavy
• 4:56
Speaker 1: or in a wheelchair, I forget now, but anyway, she
• 4:58
Speaker 1: was having trouble coming down the stairs, so instead of
• 5:02
Speaker 1: running past her like everyone else was, they stopped to
• 5:05
Speaker 1: help her. And because of that, they were in that
• 5:10
Speaker 1: first story when the building came down and the lights
• 5:15
Speaker 1: went out and the doors got blocked and they couldn't
• 5:18
Speaker 1: understand why they couldn't open the door, and they heard
• 5:20
Speaker 1: them on the radio you know, get us out. We can't.
• 5:25
Speaker 1: We stuck with you know, with civilian and and you
• 5:29
Speaker 1: know the guys in the radio and the chiefs and
• 5:30
Speaker 1: you know the dispatch like where are you Well, I'm
• 5:34
Speaker 1: and stair will be just come in the main lobby.
• 5:36
Speaker 1: And they didn't realize the lobby's gone. So if they
• 5:40
Speaker 1: had ran past her like everyone else did, they would
• 5:43
Speaker 1: have died in the lobby. But because they stopped to
• 5:45
Speaker 1: help her, they all lived. And to me, that was
• 5:50
Speaker 1: the most amazing thing that I've ever seen, you know,
• 5:53
Speaker 1: have been a part of, because as I said, it
• 5:56
Speaker 1: shouldn't have been there.
• 6:00
Speaker 2: Those are hero stories right there. I mean, those are
• 6:02
Speaker 2: just here are moments now, Brian. I'm looking up because
• 6:06
  Speaker 2: I was a kid, I don't exactly remember who the
• 6:08
Speaker 2: commissioner was, but your commissioner was Tomas Benson and we've
• 6:12
Speaker 2: had a few since then. But your commissioner rallied everybody around.
• 6:16
Speaker 2: I heard he was the real grief counselor and commissioner
• 6:20
Speaker 2: at the same time.
• 6:23
Speaker 1: Yeah, that's debatable depending on who you talk to. That
• 6:28
Speaker 1: high up There's one thing you need to understand about fireman.
• 6:33
Speaker 1: Whether there was chiefs or deputy chiefs or didn't matter
• 6:37
Speaker 1: whether they or not. We all would have went to work.
• 6:40
Speaker 1: You know, we know what has to be done, and
• 6:43
Speaker 1: you know, to me, somebody up commissioner wise and you
• 6:46
Speaker 1: know what we call the white shirts. From that, everyone
• 6:50
Speaker 1: had a job to do. But so many of our
• 6:53
Speaker 1: experienced guys died at the trade center. So it was
• 6:57
Speaker 1: it was it was a tough thing, but we all
• 6:59
Speaker 1: went to work, We did what we had to and
• 7:01
Speaker 1: then you know, just went home at the end of
• 7:02
Speaker 1: the day and came back. Like I said, but twelve
• 7:05
Speaker 1: on twelve off was tough for a while, you know.
• 7:08
Speaker 2: All right, one last question before we move on to
• 7:09
Speaker 2: what you're doing on today. Sure sure the outpouring of
• 7:13
Speaker 2: all the other fire departments and police departments that came
• 7:17
Speaker 2: the city, I mean, can you talk about that collaborative effort.
• 7:22
Speaker 1: So it was it was a crazy time, you know,
• 7:25
Speaker 1: the first couple of weeks because there was no security.
• 7:29
Speaker 1: I mean I just know through friends of Munch some
• 7:31
Speaker 1: crazy stories about you know, people that were down there.
• 7:34
Speaker 1: But it was just all open and before the cranes
• 7:39
Speaker 1: came in. You know, they called the bucket Brigade. So
• 7:44
Speaker 1: there were companies, you know, from Canada. I met a
• 7:49
Speaker 1: company from Canada that was down there, and there was
• 7:52
Speaker 1: really couldn't you know, bring any equipment in. So basically,
• 7:57
Speaker 1: you know, again it was they called the bucket Brigade,
• 7:59
Speaker 1: and it's just a guys were digging with their hands, filling
• 8:02
Speaker 1: up buckets, you know, compound buckets, five gallon buckets with
• 8:06
Speaker 1: rocks and debris and just passing it down the line,
• 8:09
Speaker 1: just trying to get stuff out of there, just trying
• 8:11
Speaker 1: to look at a hole. As I said, the first
• 8:12
Speaker 1: couple of weeks, we swore we would find, you know,
• 8:18
Speaker 1: some people, and I just found body parts. I mean
• 8:22
Speaker 1: I didn't you know, there was no people, and we
• 8:26
Speaker 1: found voids. Don't get me wrong, but I mean this
• 8:30
Speaker 1: was so catastrophic, this thing coming down and just pulverized anything.
• 8:34
Speaker 1: There was a story about a guy who wrote the
• 8:36
Speaker 1: debris down. You know, I never really found out that
• 8:40
Speaker 1: guy's name. Suppose that he survived, also got messed up
• 8:45
Speaker 1: pretty badly. But I said, I know for sure about
• 8:49
Speaker 1: the guys in Stawell. Be like I said, I saw them,
• 8:53
Speaker 1: I saw the documentary and I saw it myself, you
• 8:57
Speaker 1: know it was it was pretty but yeah, we all
• 9:01
Speaker 1: worked together did what we had to. But once the
• 9:03
Speaker 1: cranes came in, we had to pull out of there
• 9:06
Speaker 1: and then it just became a watch. We were on
• 9:09
Speaker 1: overwatch where from a distance the crane would pick up
• 9:14
Speaker 1: just giant debray and with a pair of binoculars we
• 9:17
Speaker 1: had to get on the radio and call them and
• 9:19
Speaker 1: tell them to stop if we saw any bodies in there,
• 9:22
Speaker 1: and they had to stopping because then it was just
• 9:25
Speaker 1: a recovery. And you know, families were desperate to get anything,
• 9:30
Speaker 1: you know, any body part, anything for DNA, just to
• 9:33
Speaker 1: identify them because don't forget, the first couple of weeks
• 9:36
Speaker 1: we didn't know who was missing and you know who
• 9:39
Speaker 1: was dead, and it was just it was just a mess.
• 9:43
  Speaker 1: Phones were down.
• 9:44
Speaker 2: So you don't you find it incredible that twenty five
• 9:47
Speaker 2: years later, this country is not as united as it was.
• 9:50
Speaker 2: Like it's just that moment there was so much unity.
• 9:53
Speaker 2: Now we're all at each other's throats.
• 9:54
Speaker 1: Oh I know, I know, and it is sad. When
• 9:57
Speaker 1: I finally Alex, the one thing I got to tell
• 9:59
Speaker 1: you that when I did finally get to go home,
• 10:02
Speaker 1: and it was tough because the first few days the
• 10:05
Speaker 1: cell phones were down. My wife couldn't reach me. She
• 10:07
Speaker 1: didn't know what was going on. But when I first
• 10:09
Speaker 1: went home, I've never seen so many flags in my life.
• 10:14
Speaker 1: There were flags everywhere, every house, everywhere. There was no
• 10:19
Speaker 1: road rage, people holding the door for each other. I mean,
• 10:22
Speaker 1: stuff that you know you should be doing anyway. But
• 10:26
Speaker 1: everyone just came together and it was an amazing time.
• 10:30
  Speaker 1: And I don't know. I think they don't teach it,
• 10:33
Speaker 1: and I think they should teach it not only for
• 10:36
Speaker 1: historical values, but also to show what people did and
• 10:40
Speaker 1: how they came together. And it's now it's gone the
• 10:43
  Speaker 1: opposite direction. I don't understand.
• 10:45
Speaker 2: And they teach the attacks as this falsified thing. This
• 10:52
  Speaker 2: it's horrible. They have this conspiracy that's incorrectulum I don't
• 10:57
  Speaker 2: understand it.
• 10:58
Speaker 1: Yeah, I used to get that stuff from even from
• 11:01
Speaker 1: friends of mine. I said, stop stop sending me all
• 11:04
  Speaker 1: this crazy stuff. I don't care. I lost a lot
• 11:07
Speaker 1: of friends, and you know, at this it's.
• 11:09
Speaker 2: A mockery to what you guys want. But we all
• 11:11
  Speaker 2: lost that.
• 11:12
Speaker 1: Right, right, So I can't do anything about it. So
• 11:14
Speaker 1: don't send me any that. I don't want to know
• 11:15
  Speaker 1: about it anymore.
• 11:17
Speaker 2: All right, well, let's talk about what you're doing today,
• 11:19
Speaker 2: which I think is uh oh wow. You you were
• 11:23
Speaker 2: validated by NASA as well. Boy, you you've got quite
• 11:26
Speaker 2: a career. I one gets to NASA in a second.
• 11:27
Speaker 2: But tell us about this football uh, you know, to
• 11:32
Speaker 2: prevent injury and I guess brain injury. Tell us about
• 11:34
Speaker 2: what you're doing in the football world nowadays.
• 11:37
Speaker 1: So, you know, looking back on my career, everything was,
• 11:41
Speaker 1: you know, always about safety. You know, I started construction
• 11:44
Speaker 1: when as a teenager, you know when I was the
• 11:46
Speaker 1: guy that was always you know, pushing the safety issues
• 11:49
Speaker 1: even when management you know wouldn't. So it was at
• 11:51
Speaker 1: a big mouth about you know, we're supposed to have
• 11:54
Speaker 1: hard hats. You know. When I was doing scaffolding work,
• 11:58
Speaker 1: they wanted to put us on a scaff with out
• 12:00
Speaker 1: of tether and we alsopposed to have safety harnesses. So
• 12:04
Speaker 1: I was always the mouth. Guys would come today, Brian,
• 12:07
Speaker 1: you know, they're not doing this, and you know, my
• 12:10
Speaker 1: wife was like, why do you keep doing this? And
• 12:11
Speaker 1: I go, all right, the fellas in me have a problem,
• 12:14
Speaker 1: and I turn around and go fellas and there's nobody
• 12:17
Speaker 1: behind me. So I was always kind of like yapping
• 12:22
Speaker 1: about safety. You're there, Alex or Lucian.
• 12:26
Speaker 2: I am. And then so it's now from what I
• 12:29
Speaker 2: saw in your messages and it's translated into the football world,
• 12:32
Speaker 2: so tell us about that.
• 12:34
Speaker 1: So uhbout twenty eighteen, I saw the movie Concussion, and
• 12:41
  Speaker 1: that's the first time I heard of CTE. I didn't
• 12:43
Speaker 1: know anything about it, and I started reading up on it,
• 12:45
Speaker 1: and once I read what it was and the symptoms,
• 12:48
Speaker 1: I'm like, oh, I know what that is. Punch drunk.
• 12:51
Speaker 1: You know. I boxed, you know as a kid, you know,
• 12:53
Speaker 1: and that's what they called it. Somebody got hit in
• 12:55
Speaker 1: the head so many times. And it wasn't until you know,
• 12:58
Speaker 1: doctor maalothologist that brought it out to light. And when
• 13:02
Speaker 1: I started reading my research was I was really kind
• 13:08
Speaker 1: of disappointed and then horrified at the amount of kids
• 13:12
Speaker 1: that were getting killed and paralyzed playing football, which I
• 13:15
Speaker 1: didn't know. They don't advertise that. They don't really want
• 13:20
Speaker 1: a lot of people to know. I don't think and
• 13:23
Speaker 1: honestly from my interviews that parents don't want to know either.
• 13:26
Speaker 1: I mean, I signed my kid up for sports and
• 13:28
Speaker 1: they give you that waiver to sign that. I read
• 13:30
Speaker 1: it now, nobody reads it. You just yeah, get out there,
• 13:32
Speaker 1: you know. But at least as an adult college football,
• 13:38
Speaker 1: you know, pro football, you know the risks. You're signing
• 13:41
  Speaker 1: that wavery yourself.
• 13:43
Speaker 2: Kids, if you're at college football you get paid by right.
• 13:47
Speaker 1: But kids even more so because they don't know the
• 13:49
Speaker 1: risks and they're just being told get out there and
• 13:52
Speaker 1: you know, and play. And I was kind of horrified
• 13:55
Speaker 1: the amount of not only concussions, but kids being paralyzed
• 13:59
Speaker 1: to kill playing football. You know.
• 14:01
Speaker 2: So you remind me of Rick Wolf. He was this
• 14:05
Speaker 2: big sports a guy on FA and you talk about
• 14:08
Speaker 2: this every week and I don't know if you ever
• 14:10
Speaker 2: heard a show, but he would cover these kind of injuries.
• 14:12
Speaker 2: And yet at the same time, can't we play it
• 14:16
Speaker 2: safe but also encourage youth sports. I feel like there's
• 14:20
Speaker 2: just this wave of don't put your kid in a
• 14:22
Speaker 2: certain sport or something like that.
• 14:24
Speaker 1: Well, it has happened. So ten years ago, the amount
• 14:28
Speaker 1: of amateur players, so that's college anywhere from college now,
• 14:31
Speaker 1: a peewee was over ten million players. This past year
• 14:37
Speaker 1: I think was five point six, So it's almost half
• 14:39
Speaker 1: of what it was ten years ago. And again that's
• 14:43
Speaker 1: because of CTE coming out to light the amount of concussions.
• 14:47
Speaker 1: You know, moms of fighting with dads about football. So
• 14:51
Speaker 1: the amount of kids now that are in lacrosse and
• 14:56
Speaker 1: soccer has you know, expotentially gone up because you know,
• 15:01
Speaker 1: less kids playing football now. They've tried to you know
• 15:04
Speaker 1: who's wallside. Are you a sports fan? And you know
• 15:06
Speaker 1: they they've tried to change the game. You know, no spearing,
• 15:10
Speaker 1: no leading with your head and Alex, look, you watch
• 15:13
Speaker 1: any NFL game. Running back's got the ball, he's running
• 15:17
Speaker 1: into pile of guys. What does he do? You tuck
• 15:20
Speaker 1: your chin and you go head first because they say,
• 15:24
Speaker 1: well put your head back. Nobody's going to put their
• 15:27
Speaker 1: head back. You put your head back and get your
• 15:28
Speaker 1: neck broken. So yeah, correct, So these injuries are going
• 15:36
Speaker 1: to still continue. My problem is what were they doing
• 15:41
Speaker 1: about it? And when I started reading up on this,
• 15:47
Speaker 1: I couldn't believe that the amount of time and money
• 15:50
Speaker 1: being thrown at it was was kind of a pittance.
• 15:54
Speaker 1: They really weren't doing much. The helmet companies were making
• 15:58
Speaker 1: you know, newer helmet and newer plastics and newer padding
• 16:04
Speaker 1: and this type of padding. And then I saw an
• 16:07
Speaker 1: interview with a guy from he used the test equipment
• 16:10
Speaker 1: for the NFL. He's retired. Some interview was asking him
• 16:13
Speaker 1: about this and these injuries, and he goes, I don't
• 16:15
Speaker 1: know why they keep doing this. The helmet from twenty
• 16:17
Speaker 1: to thirty years ago did what it was supposed to do.
• 16:20
Speaker 1: Was designed to stop your head from cracking open like
• 16:22
Speaker 1: an egg. It is not going to stop all these
• 16:25
Speaker 1: injuries from happening. And she was like, well, what do
• 16:28
Speaker 1: you mean. He goes, Look, he goes, as long as
• 16:30
Speaker 1: the head is only attached to the rest of the body,
• 16:33
Speaker 1: for that little spot on the top of your spine,
• 16:36
Speaker 1: these injuries are going to happen the head. The helmet
• 16:39
Speaker 1: is again it's for skull fractures, you know. They say
• 16:42
Speaker 1: it's for concussions. But even that's debatable, you know, depending
• 16:46
Speaker 1: on who you talk to. So she asked, well, what
• 16:50
Speaker 1: will stop it? And he said, the only thing that
• 16:52
Speaker 1: is going to stop it if someone comes up with
• 16:54
Speaker 1: a system that stops the head from moving any more
• 16:58
Speaker 1: than it would in a natural progression. That means rotate
• 17:02
Speaker 1: left and right, you know, flexition, you know, lateral flet,
• 17:06
Speaker 1: you know, head to head hits, anything that's going to
• 17:08
Speaker 1: stop the head from moving anymore than when naturally. But
• 17:11
Speaker 1: he goes, I don't think anything can come up with that.
• 17:13
Speaker 1: It's going to be too restrictive and nothing's gonna work.
• 17:16
Speaker 2: So it's like, Bryan, it sounds like you have it
• 17:19
Speaker 2: sounds like you have a background in the engineering part.
• 17:21
Speaker 1: Of all this is that?
• 17:22
  Speaker 2: Is that correct?
• 17:24
Speaker 1: Well, you know, my brother was a builder, you know, fireman,
• 17:29
Speaker 1: always worked with other tradesmen. We're always making, you know,
• 17:32
Speaker 1: our own tools and stuff like that. And I just
• 17:35
Speaker 1: had an idea that's started. It started with that, and then, uh,
• 17:41
Speaker 1: you know, I wore helmet safety helmets for years, and
• 17:43
Speaker 1: then I also scuba dived and I saw an old
• 17:47
Speaker 1: Mark five navy dive helmet. Don't if you have seen that.
• 17:50
Speaker 1: It's a big brass helmet with little porthole windows. And
• 17:54
Speaker 1: a guy turns his head and they're like, wow, that
• 17:55
Speaker 1: would work, you know, And that started the idea, and
• 17:59
Speaker 1: then it just progressed from there and I just kept
• 18:04
Speaker 1: working on it, working on it, and I looked to
• 18:06
Speaker 1: see what was out there, and the only thing I
• 18:08
Speaker 1: found was the hands device, which was the race car
• 18:11
Speaker 1: drivers were. But that's way too restrictive. So I kept
• 18:16
Speaker 1: messing around with this, and then I got a patent attorney.
• 18:18
Speaker 1: He did a patent search and he goes, Brian, nobody
• 18:21
Speaker 1: has this. And then I kept going and came up
• 18:26
Speaker 1: with my one design. I put the patent in, I
• 18:30
Speaker 1: applied for patent, I got a full patent in another
• 18:32
Speaker 1: a year with no changes. So that's where I'm at
• 18:36
  Speaker 1: right now.
• 18:38
Speaker 2: So people can't really test out the helmet yet, right
• 18:41
  Speaker 2: or no.
• 18:42
Speaker 1: So here's what I came to. So I went back
• 18:45
Speaker 1: to my attorney, Brian, you know, get an engineer build
• 18:48
Speaker 1: a prototype. So when I went to an engineer, he said,
• 18:52
  Speaker 1: he was Brian, look, I can't build a testable. I
• 18:56
Speaker 1: could build up what do you call a prototype, you know,
• 19:00
Speaker 1: demonstration one. But the only companies that make the type
• 19:05
Speaker 1: of equipment with this type of polymers are the four
• 19:08
Speaker 1: companies that make helmets right now. So I got them
• 19:12
Speaker 1: to make a demonstration prototype. So you can put it on,
• 19:17
Speaker 1: you can wear it, you can hit it, you can
• 19:18
Speaker 1: move it around. But all it is is three D
• 19:20
Speaker 1: printed material attached to an existing pair of shoulder pads.
• 19:25
Speaker 1: It can't be anything that's attached, it has to be
• 19:27
Speaker 1: made from one solid piece. So went back to my attorney,
• 19:32
Speaker 1: goes Brian, Look, goes you, I don't suggest you listen
• 19:36
Speaker 1: to anyone who tells you to raise money and make
• 19:39
Speaker 1: this thing, because let me tell you what you were
• 19:41
Speaker 1: in for. The four companies that make helmet shoulder pads,
• 19:46
Speaker 1: they're technically competitors. You try to open up a company
• 19:51
Speaker 1: to make this, you're not competing with them. You would
• 19:54
Speaker 1: bury them because you didn't make a new helmet, You
• 19:57
Speaker 1: didn't make a new shoulder pads. You made a three
• 19:59
Speaker 1: piece system. One doesn't work without the others. So they
• 20:04
Speaker 1: would ban together and fight. Half of your money raised
• 20:07
Speaker 1: would be battling them in court, not to mention how
• 20:11
Speaker 1: long it's going to take you to make this and
• 20:13
Speaker 1: ultimately if it's kids that are going to benefit the most.
• 20:17
Speaker 1: And I look to do this for money and raise money,
• 20:19
Speaker 1: and I'm going to be a CEO in New Zealand,
• 20:21
Speaker 1: musk and I'm going to make you know, billions of
• 20:23
Speaker 1: dollars by the time that gets even if I do
• 20:26
Speaker 1: get to that point, how many more kids are going
• 20:28
Speaker 1: to die? How many more kids are going to get paralyzed.
• 20:30
Speaker 1: How many just so I can make more money. There's
• 20:33
Speaker 1: four companies now that make safety equipment for football players.
• 20:38
Speaker 1: All I'm trying to do is get their attention.
• 20:40
Speaker 2: Well, it sounds like me you're trying to and it
• 20:42
Speaker 2: says on your buyo you're trying to create this sort
• 20:45
Speaker 2: of campaign for change about if you can't do the
• 20:50
Speaker 2: prototype at least advocacy is what you're looking for or
• 20:53
Speaker 2: looking to do. It sounds like.
• 20:55
Speaker 1: Correct, because I don't want to make this. I want
• 20:57
Speaker 1: them to make it. Because in fact, I don't want
• 21:00
Speaker 1: one company to make it. I want them all. I'm
• 21:02
Speaker 1: not looking to put anyone out of business. I'd rather
• 21:05
Speaker 1: all for them. Everyone's got their own favorite helmet. They
• 21:08
Speaker 1: can all make this. But if they won't even sit
• 21:11
Speaker 1: down with me, they won't respond. I'm an outsider, you know,
• 21:15
Speaker 1: I'm an unknown. They probably does that. If it would
• 21:17
Speaker 1: it came from MIT, they probably take a look at it.
• 21:20
Speaker 1: But because of this look, every inventor wants to say,
• 21:24
Speaker 1: all right, their thing is going to change the world,
• 21:26
Speaker 1: and I'm no different. It'd be great, but you make it.
• 21:30
Speaker 1: Most people that go into inventions, they usually raise money.
• 21:33
Speaker 1: They go on shark tank, Well, those are the people
• 21:35
Speaker 1: that are looking at manufacture. I'm not looking at manufacture.
• 21:38
Speaker 1: It's going to take too long. It's going to take
• 21:40
Speaker 1: too much time. And ultimately, the kids that need this
• 21:45
Speaker 1: the most, they're the ones that are going to suffer
• 21:48
Speaker 1: for this. So I need to get their attention. And
• 21:52
Speaker 1: if they just to show what's going on right now,
• 21:55
Speaker 1: and if you follow football, right if someone came to
• 21:59
Speaker 1: me and said, Brian, you know what, it's not gonna
• 22:02
Speaker 1: work for this reason, and show me and and then
• 22:06
Speaker 1: you go, okay, yeah, it's not gonna work. Okay, So
• 22:08
Speaker 1: what do you guys have all the money this industry
• 22:12
Speaker 1: generates and all the smart people, you have a guardian cap,
• 22:19
Speaker 1: a piece of material with more padding that goes on
• 22:21
Speaker 1: the outside of the helmet. That's the best you can
• 22:23
  Speaker 1: come up with.
• 22:24
Speaker 2: And the NFL tried this as well, or is trying
• 22:26
Speaker 2: it as well, I believe so.
• 22:28
Speaker 1: So the guardian cap came out, and depending on who
• 22:33
Speaker 1: you talk to, they're making claims of fifty percent reduction
• 22:37
Speaker 1: in concussions. Even if that's true, it's not going to
• 22:41
Speaker 1: stop cervical injuries. But you listen to you know, doctor
• 22:45
Speaker 1: Chris Newinsky and the Legacy Foundation for Percussions. He's adamant
• 22:51
Speaker 1: that not only do they do they not work, but
• 22:53
Speaker 1: it's going to cause more damage because it's the full
• 22:56
Speaker 1: sense of security. And then he wanted parents to know
• 22:59
Speaker 1: that the ones that you buy for your kids, it's
• 23:03
Speaker 1: not the same ones as the NFL players are wearing.
• 23:06
Speaker 1: So it's toll debate. If you look at what needs
• 23:11
Speaker 1: to be done, it needs to divert all the energy,
• 23:15
Speaker 1: not more padding. It's more padding. It's more padding and
• 23:17
Speaker 1: more padding. Well, you're still going to get the same injuries.
• 23:20
Speaker 1: So if you look at Dean Sicking is a guy,
• 23:24
Speaker 1: it's a professor. He just got an award from NASCAR.
• 23:28
Speaker 1: So the consultant that did the simulation testing on my device,
• 23:34
Speaker 1: it's Brian. Look at this guy, Dean Sicking. So every
• 23:37
Speaker 1: NASCAR track has what they call a safer barrier. The
• 23:42
Speaker 1: cars used to hit the walls and was a solid
• 23:44
Speaker 1: wall and the cars were disintegrade, you know. So he
• 23:47
Speaker 1: came up with a device. He goes, Brian, look at
• 23:49
Speaker 1: the safer barrier. All it's doing is taking the force
• 23:52
Speaker 1: of that impact and redirecting it somewhere else. He goes,
• 23:56
Speaker 1: He goes that's what your collar is doing. He goes,
• 23:59
Speaker 1: I'm directing the force. Instead of it coming down onto
• 24:02
  Speaker 1: a guy's head, into his spine, it's going into a
• 24:06
Speaker 1: cow on the shoulder pads, which in turn pushes it
• 24:09
Speaker 1: down onto the shoulder. And it's also spreading it around
• 24:13
Speaker 1: three hundred and sixty degrees as opposed to just that
• 24:15
Speaker 1: one little spot on the top of your spine. So
• 24:18
Speaker 1: you're also diffusing it. You know, you make And if
• 24:21
Speaker 1: I had any indication that I was on the right path,
• 24:25
Speaker 1: now everybody uses AI. I put the question into AI
• 24:29
Speaker 1: in three different programs and they all came up with
• 24:31
Speaker 1: the same thing, and it describes what I made. So
• 24:35
Speaker 1: if you don't like my design, why aren't you making
• 24:39
Speaker 1: another design? And Alex, they know about this, they know
• 24:42
Speaker 1: the answer. It's it's just it's too much change or
• 24:46
Speaker 1: what a friend of mine says Brian that the numbers
• 24:49
Speaker 1: don't justify them putting the time, effort, and money into
• 24:54
Speaker 1: devising something new. So how many kids need to die
• 24:58
Speaker 1: to justify the right now? One, ten twenty, what's the
• 25:02
Speaker 1: value on the kid's life? What's the value on these
• 25:06
Speaker 1: guys getting concussed on a regular basis? Where they fall
• 25:10
Speaker 1: on the field and don't get up and they're twitching,
• 25:12
Speaker 1: and you tell me, I just know that nothing's being done. Well,
• 25:17
  Speaker 1: they'll say something's.
• 25:18
Speaker 2: Being done, Brian, what would be the most jarring stat
• 25:21
Speaker 2: We don't have, you know, a few hours, But what's
• 25:24
Speaker 2: the most jarring stat that you've come across that maybe
• 25:27
Speaker 2: would make more awareness to this.
• 25:29
Speaker 1: So there's the CDC and there's the NCSSI, which is
• 25:36
Speaker 1: the National Center for Catastrophic Sports Injuries. And these are
• 25:41
Speaker 1: the only ones that are reported. And I'm not talking
• 25:44
Speaker 1: about concussions. I'm talking about deaths and paralysis. So in
• 25:51
Speaker 1: twenty three twenty four, Loan, there was eighteen kids died
• 25:56
Speaker 1: playing football, three of them directly head to head collision.
• 26:03
Speaker 1: The amount of paralysis and then severe paralysis and partial
• 26:11
Speaker 1: paralysis varied, but the severe paralysis, there were three more
• 26:15
Speaker 1: that were permanently paralyzed, depending on catastrophic. Then there were
• 26:21
Speaker 1: over a dozen more that were partial paralysis. And then
• 26:25
Speaker 1: concussion wise, it's anywhere from two to three hundred thousand
• 26:30
  Speaker 1: per year.
• 26:32
Speaker 2: And that's a stat that should get people to know
• 26:35
Speaker 2: why they should visit your website for more information. Give
• 26:38
Speaker 2: us your website as well, So it's.
• 26:40
Speaker 1: Try Access Protection System dot Com SoCs system.
• 26:45
Speaker 2: I'll link that in the I'm so glad that Popmatch
• 26:47
Speaker 2: matched us because I think we both want to preserve
• 26:50
Speaker 2: youth sports. I think when I go to baseball camps
• 26:53
Speaker 2: and see these kids playing ball, I love it. I
• 26:55
Speaker 2: love seeing the new generations after us keep playing the games.
• 26:58
Speaker 1: That's what we need.
• 26:59
Speaker 2: But we got to make it. So they're saying, I
• 27:01
Speaker 2: want to ask you something else, because I won at
• 27:03
Speaker 2: radio all the time and that's my day job. And
• 27:07
Speaker 2: you did private security, and I happen to know someone.
• 27:10
Speaker 2: But does private security in the Bronx or you know,
• 27:13
Speaker 2: it wasn't a cop in the Bronx, Pat Brosen. Are
• 27:15
Speaker 2: you familiar with him?
• 27:18
  Speaker 1: Uh?
• 27:19
Speaker 2: Does he have his own company, bros And Risking Consulting?
• 27:22
Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I know the company. So I'm
• 27:25
Speaker 1: from the Bronx, you know. And then you know I
• 27:27
Speaker 1: lived there there was one and raised and then so
• 27:30
Speaker 1: I know the company. I don't know him personally. The
• 27:32
Speaker 1: company I worked for did a lot of uh, film premieres,
• 27:37
Speaker 1: fashion shows, private parties. I mean I started with them
• 27:39
Speaker 1: at nightclubs and that that that didn't last too long
• 27:42
Speaker 1: that wasn't crazy about that.
• 27:43
Speaker 2: But when you said Bronx, I'm like, oh, maybe he
• 27:45
Speaker 2: knows PAC because there's always a connection between.
• 27:47
Speaker 1: Yeah, right, right right, he probably knows you know, the
• 27:52
Speaker 1: company I worked for, GSS. I mean, I think we
• 27:55
Speaker 1: crossed paths. But I I've been out of that, you know,
• 27:58
Speaker 1: you know what, I've been out of the city two
• 28:01
Speaker 1: thousand and nine as far as working.
• 28:04
Speaker 2: This isn't the combo for that. But I'd love to
• 28:06
Speaker 2: pick your brain about the GU three case because there's
• 28:09
Speaker 2: still some stuff going on there and no one really knows.
• 28:12
Speaker 2: I'd love to pick your brain on that one day
• 28:14
Speaker 2: if you want, because that's that security that was like
• 28:17
Speaker 2: a big, big security breach and we never heard the
• 28:20
Speaker 2: we never heard about where she has just kind of
• 28:22
Speaker 2: died out the news.
• 28:24
Speaker 1: Yeah, there's a lot of questions for that. Like I said,
• 28:26
Speaker 1: I got promoted to Marshall's and right after nine to eleven,
• 28:29
Speaker 1: so then became an investigated you know, investigating arson cases.
• 28:33
Speaker 1: But then there was also a PI with security company
• 28:35
Speaker 1: same year down at Florida. I get the PI license.
• 28:38
Speaker 1: So any investigator will tell you that whole thing stinks, smells.
• 28:42
Speaker 1: It's just too many unanswered questions. In fact, there are
• 28:45
Speaker 1: more questions than there were answers. But as I said,
• 28:48
Speaker 1: without it more information, it's impossible to say what happened
• 28:54
Speaker 1: a couple of things.
• 28:55
Speaker 2: Do you still go? I know you're in Florida, but
• 28:57
Speaker 2: do you ever visit the site Ground zero?
• 29:01
Speaker 1: No? Right, No, I won't go down there again. I
• 29:03
Speaker 1: heard it's a tourist trap and it's horrible.
• 29:06
Speaker 2: They're taking selfies and.
• 29:07
  Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah I can't. I can't. Yeah, I can't. I
• 29:09
Speaker 1: can't go down there for that.
• 29:10
Speaker 2: And then and then on the on the brighter the
• 29:13
Speaker 2: Yankees did bring something, you know in the Bronx. Yeah,
• 29:16
Speaker 2: something that year, right, I mean, did you get to
• 29:19
Speaker 2: go to any of those World Series games? I mean
• 29:21
Speaker 2: there was an emotional time when the Yanks made that
• 29:23
  Speaker 2: World that run.
• 29:25
Speaker 1: Yeah, it was that uh, you know, to be honest,
• 29:29
Speaker 1: I just didn't want to talk to anyone about it.
• 29:31
Speaker 1: I didn't want to, you know, I just it became
• 29:34
  Speaker 1: a thing more of a I don't know. The only
• 29:38
Speaker 1: ones I wanted to talk about it with other cops
• 29:40
Speaker 1: and firemen that were down there. Then we'd sit around
• 29:41
Speaker 1: and talk about it. But otherwise, you know, people, it's
• 29:44
Speaker 1: like the people that stopped for car Rex. What was
• 29:47
Speaker 1: it like, like, you know, what do you say to
• 29:51
Speaker 1: somebody that that's just curious about you know, I don't know.
• 29:57
Speaker 1: I think some people are looking to see about more
• 29:59
Speaker 1: about the blood and gut and they were about us
• 30:01
  Speaker 1: working together.
• 30:02
Speaker 2: And I don't want to put you in tough spot,
• 30:05
Speaker 2: but I do feel like the FDN Y and even
• 30:07
Speaker 2: though YPD, the FDNY has gotten a little bit more
• 30:11
Speaker 2: woke with the way they do things like have you
• 30:13
  Speaker 2: noticed this stuff?
• 30:14
Speaker 1: For yeah, I'm not again. So I broke all the
• 30:18
Speaker 1: new guys in where I worked and you know, and
• 30:21
Speaker 1: this is going back a few years. One of the
• 30:25
Speaker 1: young guys called me and said, you know, you know,
• 30:27
  Speaker 1: b I missed you, but I'm glad you're not here
• 30:29
Speaker 1: because what's going on now? You you get yourself into trouble,
• 30:33
Speaker 1: you know, you they wouldn't tolerate anything about what was
• 30:37
Speaker 1: going on. Like I said, I know, things changed, but
• 30:40
Speaker 1: I just remember it the way it was when I
• 30:42
  Speaker 1: worked there, So I don't I don't know what they're
• 30:45
Speaker 1: doing now or really don't. Most guys I know are retired, so.
• 30:49
Speaker 2: You followed to see at all, Like I mean, I'm sure,
• 30:51
Speaker 2: you know who gotta like the mayor at all. And
• 30:53
Speaker 2: I'm still I'm free of Yeah.
• 30:55
Speaker 1: Yeah, I still read drives my wife crazy, you know,
• 30:57
Speaker 1: every day online. I got to read the New York date,
• 31:00
Speaker 1: the news in the post. You know, I have to, uh,
• 31:03
Speaker 1: and I'll go crazy knowing you know what's going on,
• 31:06
Speaker 1: the changes they made, and you're still there obviously, so uh,
• 31:10
Speaker 1: you know, I feel bad and I do have to
• 31:13
Speaker 1: besides coming up for functions, I do have to come
• 31:16
Speaker 1: up every year for World Trade Center medical. Most of
• 31:20
Speaker 1: us that got you know, any any damage down there
• 31:23
Speaker 1: have to do that. So I'm still tied and I'll
• 31:26
Speaker 1: always be tied to New York. It's never going to change,
• 31:28
  Speaker 1: you know.
• 31:29
Speaker 2: Yeah, the New York never leaves you. It seems like
• 31:31
  Speaker 2: so that that's.
• 31:33
Speaker 1: I refuse to I still have my eight four or
• 31:35
Speaker 1: five cell phone number and refuse to change it.
• 31:39
Speaker 2: You went, you went eight more years in the department.
• 31:43
Speaker 2: Was that because you felt you had to keep the
• 31:45
Speaker 2: legacy of those who had fallen going or what? Was
• 31:47
Speaker 2: there a drive to honor those that were killed that
• 31:51
Speaker 2: day and by by still being a firefighter.
• 31:54
Speaker 1: Well, I mean I've finally got forced out, so you know,
• 32:00
Speaker 1: they picked up on a medical with my lungs. So
• 32:05
Speaker 1: I didn't want to go, and a lot of guys
• 32:06
Speaker 1: don't want to go. And somebody said something interesting. I
• 32:10
Speaker 1: had gone out with a back injury like two thousand
• 32:14
Speaker 1: and five or whatever, and then get back to work.
• 32:16
Speaker 1: You know, I went back and and the doctor said
• 32:21
Speaker 1: to me, she goes, you know, you Fineman, I just
• 32:25
Speaker 1: I've never seen anything like this because she had a
• 32:27
Speaker 1: private practice, and she goes. The handful of guys that
• 32:31
Speaker 1: don't have any issues, that never really worked in the field,
• 32:34
Speaker 1: they're always you know, skirting work. They're trying to get
• 32:38
Speaker 1: out of the job with with no injuries. You guys
• 32:43
Speaker 1: that have major, major injuries are doing everything you can't
• 32:47
Speaker 1: to stay on the job. And uh, you know to
• 32:51
Speaker 1: me that that's I don't see that anywhere else. So,
• 32:56
Speaker 1: you know, for orthopedic things, they would try to help
• 32:59
Speaker 1: you if you want to stay on. But after nine
• 33:01
Speaker 1: to eleven, if you had any heart or lung issues
• 33:04
Speaker 1: that you were out, they wanted you gone. They don't
• 33:06
Speaker 1: want you anywhere near fires and smoking or anything else. Wow.
• 33:10
Speaker 2: Well, Brian, this is some insight into the FDNY. And look,
• 33:15
Speaker 2: we love our bravest, we love our finest right, well,
• 33:18
Speaker 2: we'll never but sometimes it's the leadership that needs to
• 33:21
Speaker 2: be fixed a little bit.
• 33:22
Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean that's politics, which is why a friend
• 33:27
Speaker 1: of mine, Billy O'Connor, was any He said something funny
• 33:31
Speaker 1: one day. He goes, I stole this line from Harley
• 33:34
Speaker 1: Davidson owners, but I'm taking it for me. And the
• 33:37
Speaker 1: line in Harley was I love my Harley, but I
• 33:40
Speaker 1: hate Harley Davidson. So he changed it to I love
• 33:43
Speaker 1: the firehouse, but I hate the fire department, meaning I
• 33:46
Speaker 1: hate the politics, and like, nobody wanted to go down
• 33:49
Speaker 1: to work at headquarters because it was all political. But
• 33:53
Speaker 1: I think that's any organization or any institution. You know,
• 33:56
Speaker 1: you get out and you work. It's working with the guys.
• 33:59
  Speaker 1: I mean that's you know, that's what I miss.
• 34:02
Speaker 2: Do you feel like and we're getting a little control
• 34:04
Speaker 2: before I let you go? Shows like Chicago Fire and
• 34:07
Speaker 2: all this are they accurate portrayals of what goes on
• 34:09
Speaker 2: in the firehouse, sir.
• 34:11
Speaker 1: So I'll give you a story. A friend of mine,
• 34:13
Speaker 1: Terry Quinn, was a consultant for Rescue Me that used
• 34:17
Speaker 1: to be on with Dennis Leary's show. So there was
• 34:20
Speaker 1: a charity function. They asked me to go when I
• 34:22
Speaker 1: want my wife. They wanted me any Class A uniforms.
• 34:24
Speaker 1: And he brings over Dennis Leary and he goes, you know,
• 34:28
Speaker 1: Brian is Dennis slaves. Yeah I know. He goes, hey, man,
• 34:31
Speaker 1: how you doing. It's like a real animated, colorful guy.
• 34:34
Speaker 1: So what do you think of the show? And so
• 34:35
Speaker 1: I said, yeah, yeah, my wife likes it. He goes,
• 34:38
Speaker 1: all right, you see you have some problems. Here's what's
• 34:41
Speaker 1: the problem. I said, Dennis, I understand it's Hollywood, but
• 34:46
Speaker 1: every fireman I know is a married guy working two
• 34:49
Speaker 1: jobs at three kids. On your show, no one's normal.
• 34:53
Speaker 1: They're all crazy. He goes, yeah, nobody's going to watch
• 34:57
Speaker 1: that because so, yeah, it's it's ridiculous. It's the same thing.
• 35:03
Speaker 1: You talked to any cops to watch the cop show.
• 35:05
Speaker 1: That's not what they do. It's entertainment, you know, So
• 35:10
Speaker 1: this is what it is.
• 35:12
Speaker 2: Well, we uh, we got to keep your you know,
• 35:15
Speaker 2: you have people call you up and get your perspective
• 35:17
Speaker 2: because you got a lot of stories to tell.
• 35:19
  Speaker 1: I am sure, yeah, yeah, it's it's I've had a
• 35:24
  Speaker 1: colorful career.
• 35:25
Speaker 2: It's not just the typical, you know, saving the cap
• 35:28
Speaker 2: from the tree. There's some real stuff you guys did
• 35:31
  Speaker 2: over those years.
• 35:32
Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, all of us. You know, we all did
• 35:35
Speaker 1: our time. But like I said, now I'm on to
• 35:38
Speaker 1: round two and I'm just again, i don't know where
• 35:40
Speaker 1: this came from, but I'm just trying to get the Oh.
• 35:42
Speaker 2: Yeah, did your kids ever play sports? I mean, growing up,
• 35:45
Speaker 2: did your kids play sports?
• 35:46
Speaker 1: Yeah? Not football, but hockey, soccer. You know, you know
• 35:52
  Speaker 1: I played when I was a kid, and I was
• 35:54
Speaker 1: too light, me asked for that, so I went to hockey.
• 35:56
Speaker 1: So that was that was the sport that I like.
• 35:59
Speaker 2: All right, did you ever play in the FDN y
• 36:02
  Speaker 2: YPD game?
• 36:04
Speaker 1: So, no, those were the with the A team. I
• 36:10
Speaker 1: was not on that level. So the A team, a
• 36:12
Speaker 1: lot of those guys before they joined the fire department,
• 36:15
Speaker 1: they were on semi pro teams. They were really good players.
• 36:20
Speaker 1: So I played on what they call battalion teams every
• 36:22
Speaker 1: firehouse and would get together with a couple of fun
• 36:25
Speaker 1: had a battalion league, and even then I got I
• 36:29
Speaker 1: got tossed around by these young guys. So my time
• 36:34
Speaker 1: doing that was only for a few years, but I
• 36:36
  Speaker 1: had fun.
• 36:37
Speaker 2: Well, I my dad was a hockey guy and he
• 36:40
Speaker 2: started installed rollerblading for me, so I feel very good.
• 36:43
Speaker 2: I have a hockey background. So all right, well, Brian,
• 36:46
Speaker 2: this was really really meaningful to have you on, and
• 36:49
Speaker 2: let's do this again soon. I don't know if you
• 36:51
Speaker 2: want to open up more as we get toward the anniversary.
• 36:53
Speaker 2: I don't know how talkative you're going to be around them,
• 36:55
Speaker 2: but would love to have you back on because look,
• 36:59
Speaker 2: we need to hear from the real firefighters, real cops
• 37:02
Speaker 2: on the ground, not this nonsense curriculum they start to
• 37:04
Speaker 2: teach these kids. I mean that's the problem.
• 37:07
Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, and thank god.
• 37:08
Speaker 2: For Sprank Siller in Totals of Towers. I have to say,
• 37:10
Speaker 2: they really are preserving this history.
• 37:13
Speaker 1: And give them money every month. I mean there and
• 37:17
Speaker 1: they show where all the money goes too. I mean
• 37:19
Speaker 1: they really really do making a difference. So it's great, guys, Steven.
• 37:24
Speaker 2: All right, well, Brian Williams, thanks for your insight today
• 37:27
Speaker 2: on one leg of alex Media.
• 37:30
Speaker 1: Thanks Alice, appreciate you having on
