History of distillery
Legal distilling started in 1816 by John Johnston
He kept it and also ran another distillery out of the same building (Ardmore)
In 1862 Logan Mackie and Co. Buys Lagavulin
Became a partner with the current owners then, JC Graham
Graham managed the distillery, Mackie handled marketing to glasgow, london, and the colonies
1889 Peter Mackie takes over after Logan dies
Peter Created white horse blend in 1890
Co-founded Craigellachie
Malt Mill
Peter starts malt mill in 1908
Started because peter was upset over the agency at laphroig
