- 0:30reaching through the endless night.
- 0:33Dreams stitched together with a fragile thread.
- 0:38Whispers of hope in the words unsaid.
- 0:44Time spins the wheel. And it's a ruthless game.
- 0:47Every step forward feels the same.
- 0:51From the first breath thrown to the final flame.
- 0:54We're bound to the story. No one's a blame.
- 0:57Cradle to the grave. We rise, we fall.
- 1:01Echoes of laughter threw it all dust.
- 1:04On the. Boots.
- 1:05Blood in the vein, carrying the weight of joy and pain.
- 1:10Cradle to the grave. It's a long heart, right?
- 1:13No place to run, no place to. Hide.
- 1:25Are you being serious right now? Yeah.
- 1:29You'd let me interview you as Superman?
- 1:32Sure. Ready.
- 1:39Let's do it, Cronkite. Superman.
- 1:43Miss Lane. Recently you've come under a lot
- 1:47of fire for what some might it's it's a lot.
- 1:53Today the Secretary of Defense said he was going to look into
- 1:56your actions. That that's funny.
- 1:59My actions. I stopped a war.
- 2:03Maybe. Not maybe I did.
- 2:06In effect, you illegally entered a country.
- 2:08This is how you're going to be. I'm not the one being
- 2:11interviewed. Superman, Did you consult with
- 2:14the president? No, you.
- 2:18Seemingly acting as a representative at the United.
- 2:20States of anybody. Except for.
- 2:22Me. Around the world and doing good.
- 2:27I would question myself in the same situation and consider the
- 2:30consequences. People were going to die,
- 2:32Superman. Hey buddy, eyes up here.
- 2:59Your choices, your actions. That's what makes you who you.
- 3:12Are Superman. He's not a man, he's an it.
- 3:29I somehow become the focal point of the entire world's
- 3:31conversation. I will not accept that.
- 3:41I cleaned your boots. I'll go get them for you.
- 4:13All right, ladies and gentlemen, my name is Brett Keene.
- 4:17You are watching and listening to GOD TV Radio.
- 4:20When you get a chance, check me out on Spotify, my radio
- 4:23station. You can also check out my new
- 4:25CD, my album release as well as but.
- 4:28So let's get into the trailer of Superman, the official trailer
- 4:34by DC. There's actually been quite a
- 4:36few clips of a lot of that material and content already out
- 4:39there, like the dog and the bleeding in the snow and some of
- 4:45the robots and everything that are a part of the, I believe the
- 4:50Fortress of Isolation is what they call it.
- 4:56Well, first I'm going to put AT like this.
- 5:01This is hard for me to watch these newer versions of
- 5:05Superman. I was in love with the older
- 5:09version with Christopher Reeves didn't really care for much of
- 5:12the other Superman's long before him.
- 5:16And that was probably because they didn't have the kind of CGI
- 5:19effects and neat stuff, and they didn't concentrate really on
- 5:24character building. Back in the 50s and 60s, it was
- 5:27pretty much, you know, he runs in, saves somebody.
- 5:32And there wasn't really no storyline.
- 5:34I enjoyed the TV version of Lois and Clark.
- 5:37I do like Dean Cain's version of Superman, but not even close to
- 5:43Christopher Reeves. Henry Cavill came along and I
- 5:47remember I felt like, are we ready for this?
- 5:52Well, Henry Cavill wasn't the the first one.
- 5:55There was another guy, Ruth or something like that, who played
- 5:59The Return of Superman. And it wasn't a bad movie.
- 6:03The guy looked a lot like Christopher Reeves, a skinnier
- 6:06version, and he had the whole Superman and Clark Kent kind of
- 6:13personality. See there's always been kind of
- 6:16a problem with Superman movies. Either they focus too much on
- 6:21Superman or they try their best to make Clark Kent as clumsy as
- 6:27possible. But usually it is that the movie
- 6:30spend too much time on Superman and his heroic feats and actions
- 6:36and not really the human side of them.
- 6:37Where Man of Steel with Henry Cavill, actually, he showed you
- 6:42what it was like for him as a child.
- 6:43I know people are going to say, well, there was a damn TV show
- 6:47that had like 20 seasons to it, Smallville.
- 6:50You could have watched that. That wasn't terrible or bad or
- 6:53anything, but I don't know. I just wasn't feeling that one
- 6:57as much. Henry Cavill, whenever he got on
- 7:02the screen, it wasn't just Henry Cavill himself, it was also the
- 7:06other people, the guy who actually played.
- 7:12What's that damn name? The Zod.
- 7:15Oh my goodness, said Scream. And I will find him.
- 7:19I will, you know, destroy him, dismember him and all that kind
- 7:23of stuff. That guy was, that guy was raw.
- 7:26He was brutal, man. He is an actor that I enjoy
- 7:32watching a lot. I just can't seem to get the
- 7:34damn name out. You guys can tell me in
- 7:36comments. And then the woman who played
- 7:41his mother. Absolutely beautiful.
- 7:44And then there was Russell Crowe actually playing the part that
- 7:49before in the Chris Reeves, Marlon Brando played the
- 7:54original father of Superman, and he was good.
- 7:58He was pretty good. I heard that he was an annoyance
- 8:03to deal with for the other actors as well as directors
- 8:06'cause he didn't like to actually read his scripts.
- 8:08He just wanted to get out there, say a couple things and take the
- 8:12paycheck. But Christopher Reeves really
- 8:15made it. And of course, the late deceased
- 8:19Gene Hackman playing Lex Luthor. He added some humor, but he also
- 8:24made it intense and made you actually concerned.
- 8:28I think that Superman was good all the way up to 3-4.
- 8:32Got a little cringy with the Nuclear Man and then them over
- 8:36dubbing Gene Hackman's voice over the Nuclear Man, which I
- 8:40didn't think was necessary because the Nuclear Man already
- 8:44had. The guy who played Nuclear Man
- 8:46actually had a cool voice. They could have just used Let
- 8:50him talk. They could have added, I guess,
- 8:53a lower pitch to it. So this Superman comes along.
- 8:59My issue is, ladies and gentlemen, is that I'm getting
- 9:03wary. I'm getting fatigued by all
- 9:06these different versions of Batman, all these different
- 9:08versions of The Flash, all these versions of, I think they took a
- 9:13long enough time with Wonder Woman.
- 9:15There was no way we were going to get the older version back.
- 9:18And she did a successful TV show, the original, back in the
- 9:2280s. It was plenty of time went by to
- 9:24go ahead and do a remake or a new version of her.
- 9:27And the new Wonder Woman is beautiful.
- 9:29She's absolutely sexy, glorious in every way.
- 9:33But Superman, boy, they just keep on doing it.
- 9:40The Snyder universe. Oh, I got, I went ahead.
- 9:43I didn't like the Justice League Superman video, not the edited
- 9:48version, but I did sit down and throw some cash down.
- 9:52I bought the entire four or five hour Z Snyder thing and damn it,
- 9:58that's a bad ass movie. They should have never cut
- 10:01anything out of that. That made the movie a totally
- 10:04different deal all together. Yeah, incredible.
- 10:09The introduction itself, you already got your skin crawling
- 10:13and sugars down your spine just by watching the start of that
- 10:18movie from beginning to end. Fantastic.
- 10:23So what do we got here? We got James Gunn.
- 10:25He's put out his version of Superman.
- 10:28Here's how I tolerate these new remakes.
- 10:31I just pretend to myself that that Henry Cavill Superman is
- 10:36still alive and running around. And the character Superman, that
- 10:40was Christopher Reeve, he's got his own alternate universe.
- 10:43Henry's got his and I'm willing to accept.
- 10:48I'm open minded and I got to be honest with you, ladies and
- 10:52gentlemen, I was really nervous. I knew that they were throwing
- 10:56around the idea doing Superman, but I was getting really nervous
- 11:00because everybody was talking about we need a homosexual,
- 11:04black, lesbian, polka dotted Superman.
- 11:07And I'm like, no, we don't need that shit at all.
- 11:10I don't need any of what was put in any of those categories.
- 11:16I do not need Superman to go woke.
- 11:19To me, that would have been like, I'm ready for the
- 11:22Antichrist, the end of the world kind of thing.
- 11:25I don't need to see that shit. Can Ioffer some advice to people
- 11:30out there who are mentally deranged and feel like that kind
- 11:33of shit's got to be pushed into everything in your politics?
- 11:37Why don't you learn how to be creative and unique, create your
- 11:41own stupid ass characters and then make a comic book out of it
- 11:45or a movie. And when you go broke and shut
- 11:48then at least you can tell yourself you tried.
- 11:52But leave my legacy characters alone.
- 11:55Leave characters alone that have already been established and
- 11:58lore. Don't fuck with it.
- 12:01Don't touch my shit. And for those out there who
- 12:04think lesbians need to be represented in black people and
- 12:07all that, you can always use Spawn.
- 12:11He's one of the most bad ass fucking characters in the world.
- 12:14There's always Blade, you know. There's plenty of awesome black
- 12:18superheroes, you do not need to tell us that they're not
- 12:21represented enough. We love them, we've accepted
- 12:24them, they're a part of our lives.
- 12:26OK, so fuck you on your whatever is going on in your brain.
- 12:31Maybe you don't know enough about comic books and movies
- 12:34yourself to realize that people of all color and diversity are
- 12:39fucking represented fine. Hell, they turned Batgirl into a
- 12:44lesbian and it's got it was one of the most annoying fucking
- 12:47things I had to watch. People are going to say, why do
- 12:50you got a problem with lesbian Batgirl for?
- 12:53Because the whole fucking reason anybody watched Batman was
- 12:57because this was a guy who was stripped of his identity, was a
- 13:01a kid that watched his parents get murdered in front of him.
- 13:05The last thing on his fucking mind is where he was getting
- 13:07Dick and pussy from. Batman was The Dark Knight.
- 13:10He went out and fucking took out deranged ass lunatics who were
- 13:15destroying the city of Gotham. That was the priority we were
- 13:18concerned about, not who he was having sex with.
- 13:22In fact, most of the Batman movies stayed away from
- 13:25relationships. The idea was Bruce Wayne is a
- 13:28very isolated person. Anyone that he tries to have a
- 13:31relationship with it would be crippling for him.
- 13:34It was one of his vulnerabilities as a human.
- 13:37He didn't want to drag people into his pain and suffering.
- 13:40Alfred would constantly complain you need to get married, fuck
- 13:44the Batman costume, have a real life, be happy for once.
- 13:49That was the entire point. The psychological attributes of
- 13:53Batman, why people love him. We bring back girl along and she
- 13:58ain't got no real. She had a tragedy where
- 14:01supposedly Batman tried to save her and she got dropped in a
- 14:03fucking hole or something and her mom died and the sister
- 14:07turned into a a like a bullshit version of I forget what the
- 14:14Joker's girlfriends called Holly.
- 14:17No, I don't know. I don't give a shit.
- 14:20I don't really care about that character.
- 14:23She's been blown up all over that Suicide Squad shit, and
- 14:27she's not all that for me. I think she's been, for some
- 14:30reason, people took a psychotic female and turned her into a sex
- 14:35object. You weird sick fucking pervert
- 14:37to you. Yeah, It's like right on the tip
- 14:42of my tongue what her name is. I guess it doesn't really
- 14:45matter. So this Superman, while the
- 14:50graphics are great, the special effects are nice.
- 14:53It's obvious that the idea and concept behind this version of
- 14:58Superman is they're trying to bring back the Christopher
- 15:01Reeves concept. An innocent guy who is found
- 15:07himself in our world with powers and abilities, and he's trying
- 15:10to use them for good. It appears as though there's a
- 15:13lot of fucking shit going on here.
- 15:16He's got giant Godzilla monsters knocking fucking buildings over.
- 15:21You've got super villains who are kicking the shit out of
- 15:24everything and killing people. You got Lex Luthor who looks
- 15:28like AI don't know he he doesn't look like a cool Lex Luthor.
- 15:33I'm sorry, but he doesn't. Does anybody ever watch to come
- 15:39or read the comic books? Lex Luthor is this built
- 15:42corporate looking guy. He's strong, he's tough.
- 15:46He's not some kind of weird, like fucking warped face guy.
- 15:51He's the type of guy that women adore and people look up to.
- 15:55He's real smart, knows how to run business.
- 15:58I mean, he's a human being who actually gives Superman a run
- 16:02for his fucking money. So I don't know.
- 16:05I don't know what I think about Lex Luthor.
- 16:08People have to understand that Superman and Batman and The
- 16:12Flash and all these type of characters, it's not just the
- 16:15hero themselves that make the movie or the comic book or the
- 16:18film or a show. You have to have the enemies
- 16:22have to be bad ass too. They have to be interesting.
- 16:25They have to be fucking smart. People are bored of seeing the
- 16:28dopey ass bad guy who ends up eventually basically telling his
- 16:35whole plan to the bad guy or the good guy and then getting
- 16:38himself killed in the end. You want to believe that there's
- 16:43an actual struggle there, and you can't have a real struggle
- 16:47unless your foe or your enemy is smart, strong, and has his own
- 16:53actual justifications that you can almost relate to and
- 16:56identify with. That's what makes them so
- 16:59attractive. And Batman's characters are a
- 17:02lot like that. That's why the Joker's so
- 17:04popular. At least some versions of Jack
- 17:07Nicholson. Heath Ledger version and Mark
- 17:12Hamill, the cartoon animated version.
- 17:15He's an idiot in real life, Mark Hamill.
- 17:17But as the Joker, he excels. And I don't have to remind
- 17:23people, I suppose, that he was Luke Skywalker back in the day
- 17:27when Star Wars actually meant something to us all his
- 17:29children. So yeah, this Superman, well,
- 17:35this is the first time in the movies, at least the comic books
- 17:39did it 100 times. But this is the first time
- 17:42they're introducing Super Dawg, the character that plays Lois
- 17:47Lane. She appears to be pretty and
- 17:50cool. That's one thing that was
- 17:51missing from the Christopher Reeves version of Superman.
- 17:55The woman they chose is Lois. Good actress which helped to get
- 18:01through the movie looking at her, but when it came to
- 18:03physical appearance, he wasn't something even an average man
- 18:07would find attractive or interesting.
- 18:09I suppose back when she was 20 years old you'd she was one of
- 18:15those, you know, double bag them types.
- 18:17But as she got older playing Lois Lane, it was just it just
- 18:21didn't look right next to Christopher Reeves.
- 18:24Christopher Reeves was an absolute God like figure is
- 18:28where her she well, I hate to be mean, but she looked like dog
- 18:33shit. The Lois Lane in the Henry
- 18:36Cavill movie, in the Lois Lane that played in the roof's film,
- 18:43he a roof or whatever the fuck his name was.
- 18:46She was pretty and she was able to carry herself.
- 18:49She was believable as Lois Lane, sadly, and Lois and Clark, the
- 18:56woman who played Lois, although she was pretty, she was fucking
- 19:01annoying. Absolutely annoying.
- 19:04All these other Lois's, whenever they got into trouble, you
- 19:07wanted Superman to save them. This girl and Lois and Clark, if
- 19:12it wasn't for Dean Cain you would have been like, yeah just
- 19:16let her let that rocket or elephant fall on her and just
- 19:20get rid of her ass and get rid of the lowest part and just keep
- 19:23it as Clark as Superman or something.
- 19:26Couldn't stand that woman. Oh constantly bitching and
- 19:30saying crazy shit. Worst fucking journalist on the
- 19:33planet. Well, so you guys are probably
- 19:40waiting for me to say something about this Superman.
- 19:44Well, I don't know what to actually say.
- 19:46A lot of what I was seeing on the screen, I don't know what
- 19:48the fuck I'm looking at. It appears as though the
- 19:51Fantastic Four is going to be making a cameo appearance.
- 19:55I recognize I think his name was not Hawkeye but Birdman or.
- 20:00Hawk Man or some shit like that, that was a character.
- 20:04I've seen a lot of covers of the comic books but I just did not
- 20:08find that character interesting and never got into that comic
- 20:11book. But who knows maybe this movie
- 20:15will do it. I don't know.
- 20:17Why are there fucking monsters? I don't know, maybe they opened
- 20:20a portal, maybe a dimension open up and that's why all these
- 20:24assholes are flooding in along with the these fucking Godzilla
- 20:28like creatures. I don't know, it was just a lot
- 20:31to look at. It was obviously it brings out
- 20:36the child and all of us, the nostalgia by hearing the fucking
- 20:40old Christopher Reeve music, but all amped up with some kind of
- 20:43cinematic vibe to it. That's cool and you're waiting
- 20:49for that. I got to be honest with you, I
- 20:54love Christopher Reeve's old Superman music, but I was
- 20:58starting to get kind of, I was starting to get attached to
- 21:01Henry Cavill's music. It was very powerful and
- 21:05emotional. It really, really fit the mood
- 21:11of the movie and shit. Very good.
- 21:15I wonder what they're going to do though.
- 21:17I'm curious, is Superman already going to be grown up?
- 21:20It seems like with every Superman or television show
- 21:23Superman, they always got to show the little baby and the
- 21:27fucking ball of spikes that get shot out in the universe and
- 21:30comes to Earth. They usually revisit what
- 21:33Superman was like as a kid and then they get into it.
- 21:37Or are they just going to jump right into it?
- 21:38Are they going to say Superman's here and do like one of those
- 21:42things where while we're watching it, he has flashbacks
- 21:46of what he used to be? Or Dad?
- 21:48Because I did see the old man with the cross eyes.
- 21:51I've seen him in the movies before.
- 21:53He usually plays a fucking weirdo or a bum or something.
- 21:56But apparently he's going to be, you know, old Kent who adopted
- 22:02Superman when he landed in the cornfield and shit, taking care
- 22:06of him. I wonder how that's going to go.
- 22:09I noticed there wasn't a woman and every Superman the father
- 22:13dies either from a heart attack or being destroyed by a tornado
- 22:18while Superman watches. This time it looks like the old
- 22:22man's alive but no imagery of the of Miss Clark.
- 22:27You know the the old woman. Maybe they're reversing the
- 22:31story and letting the dad live this time and killing the old
- 22:35lady. I don't know.
- 22:38Well, it it's a movie I'm going to want to watch.
- 22:43It's I'm not really so excited. I feel the need to go out to the
- 22:47movie theater and fucking donate blood in order to afford movie
- 22:51theaters around here are super expensive.
- 22:53We're talking if I took my kids to go see it that are young
- 22:58adults. Now we're talking 60 fucking
- 23:00dollars and that's before soda and popcorn and bullshit.
- 23:06I was really hoping that a lot of these movie people would keep
- 23:09their word and make it to where I could just stream movies at
- 23:12home and shit that are at the theater, but they fucking
- 23:16haven't gotten around to getting that straightened out.
- 23:18So I guess I'll have to wait for the DVD or Blu-ray or whatever.
- 23:23I don't, you know, Honestly, I don't really deal with fuck DVDs
- 23:27anymore. Blu-ray, I usually buy them off
- 23:29of Prime or some movie places that I go through the app
- 23:35through my either my Xbox or my machine like that.
- 23:40Yeah, so there it is. Whoop, There it is.
- 23:45It looks good. It looks interesting.
- 23:47I'm willing to give it a shot. Lot of shit going on.
- 23:51I hope there's not so much pile into it that we don't get an
- 23:55actual storyline that's not just Superman thrown into a world of
- 23:59hurt. Do you notice that?
- 24:02Do you notice that every single trailer about Superman so far is
- 24:07about him getting the shit kicked out of him being dropped
- 24:09from the sky in the cement or he's fucking bleeding in the
- 24:12snow or something? It's always Superman hurt.
- 24:16This is the first time we're in a trailer.
- 24:19We actually get to see him talking while getting, while
- 24:22seeing flashes and him getting hit with a fucking tank shot at
- 24:27having cams thrown at his head. Is that the focus?
- 24:32Superman getting spit on by humans?
- 24:35And basically they're taking Superman into the New Testament,
- 24:39you know, where he's trying to do good and then you, you know,
- 24:43beat him up or try to abuse him and, you know, try to kill him
- 24:47in the end. Is that what we're going for?
- 24:49A New Testament, you know, Jesus Superman type of story 'cause
- 24:54that's basically what I've been seeing every damn time I turn on
- 24:59a clip of this. It's Superman getting shit
- 25:02whipped out of him, or grabbed or punched or, you know, speared
- 25:06by some big WWE wrestler looking son of a bitch.
- 25:10You guys notice that? Am I missing something here?
- 25:13Is he not getting his ass kicked in every fucking moment of the
- 25:17trailer except for whenever he's yelling at Lois?
- 25:20No, I'm just trying to be a good guy.
- 25:22I'm just trying to do right. You know?
- 25:25Technically, he's being physically abused and
- 25:28emotionally abused by the woman that he loves.
- 25:31Instead of supporting him and encouraging him, she's getting
- 25:35Superman pissed off and then she's going to write a paper
- 25:37about him and cause more trouble.
- 25:39That's Lois for you. All right, ladies and gentlemen,
- 25:42God bless.
