Transcript
- 0:11Speaker 1: Hey, babes, Welcome back to Vanity. Farah.
- 0:13Speaker 2: My name is Chris Farrah, and we continue the journey
- 0:16Speaker 2: that is ninety Day Fiance. It's season twelve, episode seven,
- 0:20Speaker 2: The Ball and Chain. I obviously love the season and
- 0:24Speaker 2: I could talk about it for the rest of my life.
- 0:26Speaker 1: It's one of the better seasons we've had in a minute.
- 0:29Speaker 2: And obviously we know why the OG franchise works. It's
- 0:33Speaker 2: because it's brand new people who are truly in ridiculous
- 0:37Speaker 2: situations trying to relate to each other when they have
- 0:40Speaker 2: vastly different experiences, worldviews, triggers.
- 0:46Speaker 1: And you know, values.
- 0:48Speaker 2: And I am here for it because I think at
- 0:51Speaker 2: the end of the day, it's interesting to watch people
- 0:54Speaker 2: have to come together and work on things, and especially
- 0:58Speaker 2: if hopefully they share some morsel of love between them.
- 1:02Speaker 2: So what they're trying to do is, you know, grow
- 1:06Speaker 2: and evolve the relationship they have. Obviously what sucks was
- 1:10Speaker 2: when people are fake, are weird. But at the same time,
- 1:13Speaker 2: you know, here I am talking an hour about Mido. Okay,
- 1:19Speaker 2: let's get in. Why don't we start with our good
- 1:23Speaker 2: friends Marissa and Edward. So obviously we know that her
- 1:28Speaker 2: rich ass family waspy, rich ass family is coming to visit,
- 1:31Speaker 2: and Marissa does two things that I find to.
- 1:35Speaker 1: Be of note.
- 1:38Speaker 2: She a tells Edward to be the family approval style Edward,
- 1:42Speaker 2: and that is like less fun Edward. Don't hug or
- 1:46Speaker 2: pick up anyone, And don't call her mommy, mommy, don't
- 1:50Speaker 2: call her stepdad poppy.
- 1:53Speaker 1: Don't do it.
- 1:54Speaker 2: Just pretend that they are cold, sort of like wooly
- 1:59Speaker 2: mammoths that you have to approach with caution and.
- 2:02Speaker 1: Like try and read their body language. Isn't that so interesting?
- 2:05Speaker 1: It's interesting to be like change who you are and how.
- 2:08Speaker 2: You proceed and talk to people because my family won't
- 2:12Speaker 2: like your natural gregarious personality anyway. Just interesting. So the
- 2:20Speaker 2: second thing that's interesting is that we're like, okay, Marissa,
- 2:23Speaker 2: show you have this big ass helm. It's gorgeous, you know,
- 2:26Speaker 2: on the outside, on the inside very suspect. Let's just
- 2:29Speaker 2: see what your life is like. You're having your big
- 2:31Speaker 2: Italian family come over. We know what that life's like.
- 2:34Speaker 2: Now she got food catered. Now do I expect Marissa
- 2:38Speaker 2: to take time off of her busy bar teaching class
- 2:42Speaker 2: to make a caprese salad?
- 2:44Speaker 1: No? I don't but she leaves the catered food in.
- 2:48Speaker 2: The exact packaging it comes in all these plastic shells
- 2:52Speaker 2: and or tenfoil shells. And she says that she's embarrassed
- 2:56Speaker 2: by it, and she should be. But also she has
- 2:59Speaker 2: no other servingwear, and what why versa your seasoned? How
- 3:12Speaker 2: have you not gotten any serveware? Also, you've been married before,
- 3:16Speaker 2: so I know you were you were you have a
- 3:19Speaker 2: registry or you had a registry at some point people
- 3:23Speaker 2: had to go to a department store and buy you
- 3:26Speaker 2: your bullshit things on that long off registry that she
- 3:29Speaker 2: you know, had a gun and went around, you know,
- 3:31Speaker 2: one of those price guns.
- 3:32Speaker 1: And put them on.
- 3:32Speaker 2: Like, I cannot believe this bitch has never gotten her
- 3:35Speaker 2: ass to Creighton Barrel or Williamson Sonoma and has bought
- 3:38Speaker 2: like that kind of basic earthware and a cream you
- 3:41Speaker 2: know what I'm saying, Like, I just I'm not expecting
- 3:44Speaker 2: her to have like stop and stuff like that, But
- 3:46Speaker 2: I can't believe that she doesn't have any servingwear.
- 3:51Speaker 1: This house doesn't seem real. This seems almost like a.
- 3:56Speaker 2: Airbnb home with how cheap everything is on the inside,
- 4:01Speaker 2: but also how unlivable, like her weird two showers with weird,
- 4:07Speaker 2: horrible shower curtains, obviously her bedding. But like I when
- 4:11Speaker 2: she says she has no serving wear, how have you
- 4:16Speaker 2: ever had a party? So you yeah, like you've never
- 4:19Speaker 2: hosted a holiday. You have two kids, you just never
- 4:25Speaker 2: have them their kids over for like, you know, an easy,
- 4:28Speaker 2: breezy birthday. But you need to get like a cupcake platter.
- 4:32Speaker 2: It's really remarkable, like I mean, and I'm remarking on it.
- 4:36Speaker 2: I mean, she then she complains about that. But then
- 4:39Speaker 2: even for her like family, she has to undo a
- 4:43Speaker 2: bunch of plastic utensils, plastic plates, plastic utensils. There's just
- 4:49Speaker 2: a part of her that's like I cannot be.
- 4:51Speaker 1: Bothered to fill a dishwasher.
- 4:57Speaker 2: I just want to throw everything away, just create a
- 5:00Speaker 2: bunch of fucking trash. I mean, why are you telling
- 5:05Speaker 2: Edward how to behave in front of your family. If
- 5:08Speaker 2: you're gonna have your family over and just serve them
- 5:10Speaker 2: on a bunch of fucking plastic, look at yourself. When
- 5:15Speaker 2: one finger is pointing at someone else, four more pointing
- 5:18Speaker 2: back at you. So she's having her obviously mom, her stepdad.
- 5:22Speaker 2: Her stepdad's name is Bob, and she calls her stepdad Bob,
- 5:26Speaker 2: her aunt's uncles and a cousin named Carla, and she
- 5:30Speaker 2: says the food is Italian, so are they, but Bob isn't.
- 5:33Speaker 2: And then this is where Edward can't help, like just
- 5:38Speaker 2: parceling out a little bit of joy, and he's like, no,
- 5:41Speaker 2: he's Dominican.
- 5:41Speaker 1: And he laughs, which is hilarious. It's a great joke.
- 5:44Speaker 2: And when we see Bob's face in retaliation to that joke,
- 5:49Speaker 2: we realize this man is dripping in like a UK face.
- 5:55Speaker 2: He seems he looks like the most English person that
- 5:59Speaker 2: you'd pluck off a countryside. I mean, you know, he
- 6:01Speaker 2: seems country English, you know, which I find, let's just
- 6:06Speaker 2: be honest charming. You know, there's cobblestones in whatever neck
- 6:10Speaker 2: of the woods his great grandparents are from, you know,
- 6:13Speaker 2: like he has good taste and butter. So her mom
- 6:21Speaker 2: looks like a combination of Candy Spelling and Tory Spelling together.
- 6:27Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 6:29Speaker 2: Look, she looks like both women together as one woman.
- 6:33Speaker 2: And what's interesting about that is that Tory Spelling looks
- 6:37Speaker 2: nothing like her mom Candy Spelling. But also doesn't Marissa's
- 6:43Speaker 2: mom also feel like she probably has like a Candy
- 6:46Speaker 2: Spelling esque demeanor, and just how Tory rebelled from her mom.
- 6:51Speaker 1: Don't you kind of.
- 6:51Speaker 2: Feel like that's Marissa, Marissa having to listen to her
- 6:54Speaker 2: mom talk and is watching Marissa's face.
- 6:57Speaker 1: She almost does like regress back.
- 7:00Speaker 2: To like a fifteen year old. I bet Marisa was
- 7:02Speaker 2: like an absolute handful. Her mom's going to be like
- 7:05Speaker 2: I raised a strong woman, but I feel like, yeah,
- 7:07Speaker 2: like I feel like you guys have fought, and Marissa
- 7:09Speaker 2: has done a lot of rebellious things. I think that
- 7:12Speaker 2: Marissa's whole, like I'm going to date working classmen, is
- 7:17Speaker 2: like a weird rebellion against her mom, even though I
- 7:19Speaker 2: think that her mom came into money because of Bob Bob,
- 7:22Speaker 2: because you know, I deep dive was like a CFO
- 7:25Speaker 2: or one of those things of David's bridal, which coincidentally
- 7:28Speaker 2: is where she worked for years, so you know, God
- 7:32Speaker 2: bless Nepo bridal baby, that's what we call them now.
- 7:38Speaker 2: Of course, when the whole family's there, Edward's doing his best.
- 7:41Speaker 2: He you know, at one point, is like in the
- 7:43Speaker 2: middle of like being lovely and charming, and Marisa's like,
- 7:46Speaker 2: get up, I need to sit down and it's like awkward.
- 7:49Speaker 2: So then someone else is like, oh, here, you can
- 7:51Speaker 2: have my seat, Edward, and then they're like, okay, we've
- 7:54Speaker 2: had enough, and so the mom starts to be like,
- 7:58Speaker 2: I know we've met, but I just don't know you,
- 8:00Speaker 2: and I don't know how I feel about your relationship
- 8:03Speaker 2: with my daughter. They're like, well, enough hard questions. Let's
- 8:06Speaker 2: go outside and have more hard questions. So Carla, who
- 8:10Speaker 2: has a personality Marissa's mom, and Edward go outside to
- 8:14Speaker 2: continue this great conversation, which feels very much like a
- 8:18Speaker 2: hometown date from a Bachelor episode, you know, even if
- 8:21Speaker 2: you know you know. Carla tries to lay some warmth
- 8:26Speaker 2: and is like, well, he has to be special because
- 8:28Speaker 2: you haven't brought a lot of men around your kids.
- 8:30Speaker 2: She's like, yeah, you know, I wouldn't do that unless
- 8:32Speaker 2: they were special, and the mom gets I mean real
- 8:37Speaker 2: conservative coded, and she's like, listen, we all know America
- 8:41Speaker 2: is a wonderful place, happiest place on her Some would
- 8:46Speaker 2: say the Disneyland of all countries, the best, the first.
- 8:50Speaker 2: We're like the first, No, young, She's like, this is
- 8:53Speaker 2: where everyone wants to be. The American dream you've heard
- 8:55Speaker 2: of that, and what I'm trying to say is you
- 8:57Speaker 2: have a lot of reasons to want to come over here.
- 8:59Speaker 2: And he, you know, God Bless is like, I'm from
- 9:02Speaker 2: the dr It's a tropical paradise. Maybe you feel like
- 9:08Speaker 2: the socio economics systems are different from what you know.
- 9:11Speaker 2: But for I guess our lack of like having disposable
- 9:15Speaker 2: income to buy absolute bullshit chotchkeys and I don't know,
- 9:18Speaker 2: plastic plates to serve our family.
- 9:20Speaker 1: We have family, We have like.
- 9:24Speaker 2: Warmth and joy in our households, So I mean, you know,
- 9:27Speaker 2: wealth is relative. And she's like, mm hmm, what do
- 9:30Speaker 2: you like about my daughter? What is it about my
- 9:34Speaker 2: daughter that's so special to you? Which is a weird
- 9:38Speaker 2: kind of question to ask, but you know, she asks it,
- 9:42Speaker 2: and he, I think, answers in a way where he listen.
- 9:48Speaker 2: He doesn't want to have to curtail to this lady,
- 9:51Speaker 2: but he's like, look, I want respect and loyalty, and
- 9:55Speaker 2: that's what she has.
- 9:58Speaker 1: You know.
- 9:58Speaker 2: I think in Edward's mind, he wasn't like, well I
- 10:00Speaker 2: like that body, and we fuck real good, we fuck
- 10:05Speaker 2: on vacations so well. So I was like, oh, this moment,
- 10:08Speaker 2: I can have this in real life. He doesn't say that,
- 10:11Speaker 2: so he thinks he gets a gold star. Now, Marissa's
- 10:13Speaker 2: like he sounded macho and doesn't really like, didn't really
- 10:18Speaker 2: showcase his caring nature in his heart. He tells Marissa's
- 10:22Speaker 2: mom that he is going to do everything in his hands,
- 10:28Speaker 2: and I think she takes that to mean like he
- 10:31Speaker 2: is going to do all it takes to do right
- 10:35Speaker 2: by her. But you know, he didn't quite say that.
- 10:40Speaker 1: I think that.
- 10:40Speaker 2: Yeah, Edward was on the defense and he was told
- 10:43Speaker 2: to be, so I don't think that we can get
- 10:45Speaker 2: like a true Edward being himself. You literally told him
- 10:48Speaker 2: not to do so, Bob at that point, you know,
- 10:51Speaker 2: is like knee deep in like a plastic cup of whiskey,
- 10:57Speaker 2: chomping on some dry lasagna. Honestly, Okay, let's move on
- 11:03Speaker 2: to Meato and Debbie. Now this is oh no, sorry, Meto.
- 11:09Speaker 1: I'm like, I have small little pictures, and then I'm like,
- 11:11Speaker 1: what do they look like? In real life? Oh? Do
- 11:13Speaker 1: I know?
- 11:13Speaker 2: Have my Meto and Debbie thing? He said, there they
- 11:17Speaker 2: are Meto and Debbie. Okay, Now, obviously we're a hot
- 11:21Speaker 2: on the heels of what we can only assume is
- 11:25Speaker 2: the last straw of this relationship. But it's suspect why
- 11:31Speaker 2: he's not gone. We wake up, He's there, She's there.
- 11:37Speaker 2: We're like, why isn't this man in a different hotel?
- 11:42Speaker 2: That seems weird, Like he has disposal income, he's a
- 11:46Speaker 2: tour guide, plus all the movies, plus just the engagement
- 11:49Speaker 2: of having almost you know, seven hundred or whatever he
- 11:53Speaker 2: bought now fifty thousand followers. You would think that a
- 11:57Speaker 2: man that has almost a million followers on Instagram would
- 12:01Speaker 2: make so much money, you know, with spons deals. But
- 12:03Speaker 2: guess what, No, he's talking. They're not talking, so basically
- 12:08Speaker 2: they have producers coming in to facilitate this. I also
- 12:11Speaker 2: think it's ridiculous and kind of funny that there is
- 12:13Speaker 2: no friend or family member for him to call to
- 12:16Speaker 2: have one of their classic state what happened last night
- 12:21Speaker 2: on the phone with someone else's round up convos, but
- 12:25Speaker 2: there's not and take note of it. He says that
- 12:27Speaker 2: he had been patient with her, but he has no
- 12:30Speaker 2: idea what happened because she just came in the car
- 12:32Speaker 2: and started yelling, and he didn't understand where and why
- 12:35Speaker 2: that would happen. And meanwhile, her friends are still shocked
- 12:41Speaker 2: they're just like, yeah, I went bad so fast, and
- 12:43Speaker 2: we're like, well, no, it was already bad, like you
- 12:48Speaker 2: guys were seeing it at like a five simmering and
- 12:52Speaker 2: then it blew up.
- 12:54Speaker 1: You know.
- 12:56Speaker 2: They had gotten more drinks at the bar because Astra
- 12:59Speaker 2: and Laura her friends are like the only important sort
- 13:02Speaker 2: of like sociable, somewhat interesting people involved. Of course, Debbie
- 13:05Speaker 2: had driven home and he had said that his plan
- 13:10Speaker 2: was to go back to his country, and she had
- 13:12Speaker 2: told him to look for flights. So the producers asked
- 13:15Speaker 2: her what happened the next day, and we realize this
- 13:19Speaker 2: girl is insane because she said it was just a
- 13:23Speaker 2: bad day and I had a mini meltdown. So she's
- 13:26Speaker 2: already internalizing the guilt and problem of last night being
- 13:32Speaker 2: solely on her shoulders. Now, she did blow up at him,
- 13:38Speaker 2: but it was caused by his weird passive aggressive energy.
- 13:44Speaker 2: Now she starts to think it was her fault and
- 13:49Speaker 2: you can tell. And that's when we realize that Debbie
- 13:52Speaker 2: hasn't left the situation, and this is situation's not done.
- 13:57Speaker 2: Now when she is at home, she goes in and
- 14:04Speaker 2: out of having no makeup on, and then makeup on
- 14:06Speaker 2: and she's of course having to go to work, and
- 14:09Speaker 2: he is, you know, still reeling. He's mad that her
- 14:12Speaker 2: friends questioned his virginity and that she questioned his virginity, which.
- 14:18Speaker 1: Is like, is that what happened?
- 14:19Speaker 2: But no, That's when Debbie was like, you'll fuck with
- 14:22Speaker 2: other bitches on Instagram. You won't even post me, and
- 14:25Speaker 2: you won't ask me if I'm okay.
- 14:29Speaker 1: She says.
- 14:30Speaker 2: He says, it's over, over over, But we're realizing that
- 14:33Speaker 2: they're still together. Spoiler alert on Instagram. I think Mary
- 14:41Speaker 2: Pants or one of the Instagram detectivey kind of profiles
- 14:46Speaker 2: had let it be known that they got married. There's
- 14:50Speaker 2: a wedding certificate. We know that happens after after this.
- 14:55Speaker 2: Why do we know what happened? Because we can tell
- 14:57Speaker 2: this happens around Halloween because of the bullshit cost and
- 15:00Speaker 2: they get married in December, which is.
- 15:05Speaker 1: What do you do? What do you do with that?
- 15:08Speaker 1: You wipe your hands of this situation.
- 15:11Speaker 2: You're just like, I, well, okay, well I guess not.
- 15:15Speaker 2: Don't waste my breath on you, even though I'm going
- 15:17Speaker 2: to keep wasting my breath on her. If you had
- 15:20Speaker 2: her as a friend, you wouldn't be friends with her anymore.
- 15:22Speaker 2: You would just be like, well, it's awkward. I don't
- 15:24Speaker 2: know how to describe being around you other than like
- 15:29Speaker 2: being friends with someone who's falling into a cult and
- 15:32Speaker 2: you just can't do anything about it. And you tell
- 15:36Speaker 2: them they're crazy and things look weird, and they're like,
- 15:38Speaker 2: I know, I know, but I'm still in it. You're like, well, okay,
- 15:41Speaker 2: Well some people can like deal with that by either
- 15:44Speaker 2: compartmentalizing or just being like we won't talk about the cult,
- 15:48Speaker 2: but me I can't, you know, because if your lover
- 15:51Speaker 2: or if you're in a cult or something like that,
- 15:53Speaker 2: it's sort of like permeates all the other conversations, like
- 15:57Speaker 2: what are you doing this weekend? I just you know,
- 15:59Speaker 2: going to some meetings. You know they're like cult meetings,
- 16:02Speaker 2: so you know, like, what are you doing this weekend?
- 16:03Speaker 2: I'm just gonna, like, you know, be with my boyfriend.
- 16:05Speaker 2: You're like, oh, you're nightmarish, mean, narcissistic person that has
- 16:12Speaker 2: control over you and you have low self esteem and
- 16:15Speaker 2: insecurity issues and that's why you're still with them.
- 16:18Speaker 1: Like how do you get past that? Hard? It's hard.
- 16:23Speaker 2: You have to like sometimes just be like, you know
- 16:25Speaker 2: what I'm going to surround myself with people that are
- 16:28Speaker 2: like doing good and positive things. I'm not going to
- 16:31Speaker 2: surround myself with people that I have to bite my
- 16:33Speaker 2: tongue because they're in horribly toxic situations and I either
- 16:36Speaker 2: am going to like resent them or you know, have
- 16:39Speaker 2: to deal with their neurosis or what it all falls apart.
- 16:42Speaker 2: I'm going to be the one that has to pick
- 16:43Speaker 2: them up again, even though I told them what's happening
- 16:46Speaker 2: right now, which is that they're being bad Night Marrish
- 16:50Speaker 2: with their own decision making. So anyway, by the way,
- 16:55Speaker 2: also two things about Debbie. Besides the fact that she
- 16:58Speaker 2: you know, won't get out of this situation. She loves
- 17:00Speaker 2: that's a Cobalt blue, and I think that she also
- 17:03Speaker 2: has had some lift filler that's like migrating here and
- 17:05Speaker 2: there sometimes in her car profiles. I'm like, oh interesting.
- 17:10Speaker 2: So she obviously goes to work the next morning and
- 17:15Speaker 2: he again is still there. The producers come and again
- 17:17Speaker 2: to talk to him, and he's wearing like a cream
- 17:20Speaker 2: Barefoot Dreams esque comfy cozy rope. I have to assume
- 17:24Speaker 2: it's Devons, but I also kind of think that maybe
- 17:29Speaker 2: he brought it from Egypt.
- 17:32Speaker 1: It is cream, it's cozy.
- 17:34Speaker 2: It's a cozy cream rope. She's going to go meet
- 17:42Speaker 2: up with Astra, and we know that Astra has to
- 17:44Speaker 2: lay down that law. He has no friends that have
- 17:46Speaker 2: a recount conversation with, but she does. And Astra is
- 17:50Speaker 2: like all of us, except that Astra won't yell at her,
- 17:57Speaker 2: which is not what I would do.
- 17:57Speaker 1: I would yell at her. I couldn't be on.
- 18:00Speaker 2: They'd be like that Chris is insane and she's abusive
- 18:02Speaker 2: to her friend. But at some point I'd just be
- 18:04Speaker 2: shaking Debbie and be.
- 18:05Speaker 1: Like, no slap, slap girl, wake up, you know.
- 18:11Speaker 2: So they meet and Debbie's like, I'm embarrassed. Yeah, I
- 18:18Speaker 2: like everything that's happened.
- 18:19Speaker 1: Astra's rocking her nineties esque uniform, which is like a
- 18:25Speaker 1: green and black flannel docks and sort of kool Aid
- 18:29Speaker 1: stained hair. Astra says that Mito came like super fucking.
- 18:35Speaker 2: Close to her face and was in her space like
- 18:38Speaker 2: he was gonna fight, and that he was immature and
- 18:41Speaker 2: also inappropriate, and that he's over forty, so grow the
- 18:44Speaker 2: fuck up, which is exactly true. Den Debbie's like, can
- 18:52Speaker 2: you calm down? Astra, can you just calm down? Astra
- 18:57Speaker 2: right here starts to realize is that Debbie is on
- 19:01Speaker 2: the wrong side of her story.
- 19:05Speaker 1: Astra's like, me.
- 19:07Speaker 2: Calm down, me come down talking about what happened last
- 19:11Speaker 2: night and your guy, me calm down.
- 19:13Speaker 1: We all saw that. Wow telling.
- 19:19Speaker 2: Debbie starts to low key defend him, and Astra's like, okay,
- 19:23Speaker 2: let me see, let me regroup. Okay, do you think
- 19:25Speaker 2: that he really loves you?
- 19:28Speaker 1: It doesn't feel genuine, which is the best that she
- 19:32Speaker 1: can do saying all the things we've said. Now.
- 19:36Speaker 2: Another nightmarish thing is that Debbie's been on TikTok with
- 19:40Speaker 2: sad music playing in the background for half a video
- 19:43Speaker 2: to be like the mean things that you guys have
- 19:45Speaker 2: been saying and also please stop calling him gay, And
- 19:48Speaker 2: we're like, okay, ok K.
- 19:57Speaker 1: But you know that right, you see it? You the
- 20:01Speaker 1: pants and everything.
- 20:02Speaker 2: Like Debbie put all twelve of her toes down and
- 20:09Speaker 2: was like, I highly doubt this isn't a TikTok that
- 20:14Speaker 2: Meadow would move across country, give up everything that he's
- 20:19Speaker 2: known and loved what just for a simple acting dream. Meanwhile,
- 20:25Speaker 2: Rissu's mom is like, of course he would, Debbie, it's
- 20:28Speaker 2: the greatest country in the world. Edward doesn't even have
- 20:34Speaker 2: weird acting aspirations. Debbie obviously, you know, doesn't have that either.
- 20:39Speaker 2: But it's crazy to Yeah, it's really hilarious to think
- 20:41Speaker 2: that she thinks that no person would ever do such
- 20:44Speaker 2: a thing, when in fact, acting dreams is one of
- 20:46Speaker 2: those things that has definitely made people move. I know,
- 20:50Speaker 2: I was born and raised in the valley and you know,
- 20:55Speaker 2: outskirts of Los Angeles, and I'll tell you, people definitely
- 20:57Speaker 2: do move for this Pacific dream. A lot of them
- 21:02Speaker 2: do all the time, continue to do so, even though
- 21:06Speaker 2: it's a failing industry. Debbie is like now skirting around
- 21:15Speaker 2: the idea that this isn't over, even though she said
- 21:19Speaker 2: it was over, even though he said it was over,
- 21:20Speaker 2: And even though she said look for flights, he was like,
- 21:23Speaker 2: i'd I have to look for fights. But there were
- 21:25Speaker 2: the one today and we're like, that's not real. Yes,
- 21:30Speaker 2: I do think there's a flight you can get to
- 21:33Speaker 2: go back to Egypt, like at any time, Like surely
- 21:37Speaker 2: maybe not from Louis Armstrong Airport, which, of course I
- 21:41Speaker 2: keep mentioning because I do love that airport. It's the
- 21:43Speaker 2: one in New Orleans, but like, surely he can get
- 21:46Speaker 2: a flight from.
- 21:47Speaker 1: There to Atlanta, Atlanta back to London, London to Egypt
- 21:51Speaker 1: or god bless New Orleans to New York, New York
- 21:54Speaker 1: to London, London to Egypt or whatever it is to Paris.
- 21:56Speaker 2: Honey, I'm this there is Yeah, you can start the
- 22:01Speaker 2: journey for sure. When he says that, I'm like, oh
- 22:05Speaker 2: my god, Debbie's like, well, I'll tell you what has
- 22:10Speaker 2: to happen for this to move forward.
- 22:11Speaker 1: He has to apologize.
- 22:17Speaker 2: He just has to say I'm sorry. Also, he's not
- 22:19Speaker 2: going to say I'm sorry. What's going to happen is
- 22:21Speaker 2: he is going to yell at you for being frustrated
- 22:25Speaker 2: and blowing up at him, and bitch, you're gonna apologize
- 22:28Speaker 2: because we've already seen it happen, and then you're gonna
- 22:31Speaker 2: ask for a ring, and we're gonna like swallow our
- 22:36Speaker 2: whole heads, just like trying to deal and cope with it.
- 22:43Speaker 2: It's one of those things, yeah, where you're just like, okay,
- 22:45Speaker 2: well I can't stand on a soapbox and try and
- 22:48Speaker 2: save someone, you know, drowning.
- 22:50Speaker 1: You know, like I don't know why it was.
- 22:51Speaker 2: Those are two different thoughts, but I can't, you know,
- 22:53Speaker 2: like hang off this cliff, you know, with you about
- 22:58Speaker 2: to fall over, just holding my arm dangling somewhat like
- 23:06Speaker 2: gripping it too tightly, and then also me falling off
- 23:09Speaker 2: this clip. I'm just gonna let you go, Debbie, where's
- 23:13Speaker 2: Devin right now? Because Devin lives in this apartment. We
- 23:17Speaker 2: have not seen enough of Devin in her sure jan face,
- 23:20Speaker 2: and I feel like, yeah, Devin has to come back in,
- 23:24Speaker 2: you know, link arms with Astra and be like mom,
- 23:27Speaker 2: what the uh? Even lily Bit has like left. We
- 23:33Speaker 2: haven't seen lily Bit in like at least a whole episode,
- 23:35Speaker 2: maybe two, because lily Bit's like, I don't know if
- 23:37Speaker 2: I can do it.
- 23:39Speaker 1: I don't know. This two bedroom apartment is still too small.
- 23:45Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 23:47Speaker 2: What hold that man can have on her because we
- 23:54Speaker 2: know that he hasn'tdigmatized her. He's like curly hairmatized her.
- 23:59Speaker 2: He's like mean girled her. It's like he is the
- 24:04Speaker 2: Regina George and she's like, you know, one of the
- 24:07Speaker 2: Amanda Sifred kind of like characters, Like she's just daft
- 24:11Speaker 2: and stupid and like loves this like toxic abusive energy. Huh.
- 24:20Speaker 2: It really goes to show that like, men aren't shit
- 24:22Speaker 2: in New Orleans, she can't find anyone that would possibly
- 24:26Speaker 2: treat her better, or she has such a specific type
- 24:30Speaker 2: and the specific type is.
- 24:31Speaker 1: For me, not it.
- 24:33Speaker 2: Okay, let's move on to Annabelle and Shay. So she
- 24:39Speaker 2: comes back from the saddest spa we've ever seen that
- 24:44Speaker 2: gave her such a shitty manicure. There was no facial
- 24:47Speaker 2: there was no massage, and all she got was Allison
- 24:52Speaker 2: being like, I was gonna tell herself, but then my
- 24:56Speaker 2: dad told her so, But I'm gonna build on this
- 25:00Speaker 2: Angie being like, no, I no, I never do anything
- 25:03Speaker 2: weird with your husband. So, because Angie had such a
- 25:11Speaker 2: reaction to annabel which was that she wouldn't touch Shay
- 25:13Speaker 2: with a ten foot pole or a big as deerhead,
- 25:16Speaker 2: Angie now feels better and things that Angie's telling Sorry,
- 25:20Speaker 2: Annabelle feels better things that Angie's telling the truth.
- 25:23Speaker 1: And now Annabelle.
- 25:26Speaker 2: Has sort of joined forces with Shay to be like,
- 25:29Speaker 2: but I'm still worried about Nicole. She accepts Shae's apology
- 25:34Speaker 2: and she's like, great, guess what. It's football nine in
- 25:37Speaker 2: America or watching football on NBC, just like the Carr
- 25:42Speaker 2: Underwood song, and you know what comes with football, beer
- 25:46Speaker 2: and my friends. Let's all hang out have beer in
- 25:49Speaker 2: my friends And she's like, no, you're not out of
- 25:52Speaker 2: the doghouse yet. And obviously either of mie. There's dog
- 25:55Speaker 2: hare everywhere. So one thing I'm not going to do
- 25:58Speaker 2: is enforce the Asian stereotype household rule of.
- 26:01Speaker 1: Taking off our shoes.
- 26:02Speaker 2: We're all gonna wear our shoes all the time because
- 26:04Speaker 2: you know, here's neither nor there, and I don't trust
- 26:07Speaker 2: my feet on this, and so you can have your
- 26:09Speaker 2: shoes on too. We're gonna stay home and drink herbal
- 26:14Speaker 2: tea and do yoga. And he's like, we're gonna do
- 26:18Speaker 2: what now. She's like, no beer, and he's like and
- 26:23Speaker 2: she's like herbal tea, one of those like slimming down
- 26:26Speaker 2: tea's honey, because you're getting chubs, chubs, my gubs. And
- 26:29Speaker 2: we're gonna do yoga, which is basically just stretching. And
- 26:32Speaker 2: he is like having to say okay for this or
- 26:35Speaker 2: it's producer led, you tell me, because I do feel
- 26:37Speaker 2: like if it was an important game and if he
- 26:39Speaker 2: really wanted to have beers with friends. He'd be like, Okay,
- 26:41Speaker 2: I'll do this yoga for twenty minutes, but I'm saying
- 26:43Speaker 2: right now, right afterward, I'm gonna again some beer. A
- 26:45Speaker 2: man like this isn't gonna suddenly change because of the
- 26:49Speaker 2: love of a woman. You can tell very much that
- 26:52Speaker 2: Shay's whole viewpoint is that he would like Annabelle to
- 26:55Speaker 2: take care of him because she is very good at
- 26:58Speaker 2: doing so, and also do all the things for him
- 27:00Speaker 2: that he doesn't want to do, like reach his toenails
- 27:03Speaker 2: and also let him, you know, have something to poke on.
- 27:06Speaker 2: And also, you know, he likes someone who's going to
- 27:10Speaker 2: try and get rid of just sixty percent of the
- 27:13Speaker 2: dog hair on the couch, make the bed in the morning,
- 27:16Speaker 2: and have him keep doing Shae.
- 27:20Speaker 1: Good old Southern boy Shay.
- 27:26Speaker 2: The parallels between him and Katie are hilarious to me,
- 27:30Speaker 2: except that I feel like Josh isn't so forthcoming with
- 27:34Speaker 2: why he still he stays around. But both Annabelle and
- 27:37Speaker 2: Josh are getting something from those relationships. So as Shake
- 27:42Speaker 2: gets on the ground to do whatever yoga she thinks
- 27:46Speaker 2: she's going to do, and she's basically just warming him
- 27:48Speaker 2: up for what also will be a zumba class. When
- 27:51Speaker 2: he gets his shit together, you really see the dog
- 27:54Speaker 2: looking at him being like, I'm judging you, and also
- 28:00Speaker 2: huh huh, guess who's on the couch right now enjoying
- 28:03Speaker 2: their life, and guess who's on the floor, bitch, Shay.
- 28:07Speaker 2: The kinds of shirts that Shay wears are polyester and
- 28:13Speaker 2: too tight for him. And then you also kind of
- 28:16Speaker 2: feel like, don't breathe and probably very aren't comfortable. Very
- 28:19Speaker 2: aren't comfortable, is what I said. You know that senses
- 28:23Speaker 2: very aren't grammatically correct. Let's move on though, to Katie
- 28:29Speaker 2: and Josh. Katie and Josh.
- 28:36Speaker 1: Yeah, Katie and Josh have a huge episode. Uh.
- 28:41Speaker 2: It's always interesting when they decide to give us like
- 28:43Speaker 2: more of someone or less of someone, But it feels
- 28:48Speaker 2: like they've acquired some amount of furniture, like either from
- 28:52Speaker 2: her friend or whatnot. Because he now has a desk
- 28:57Speaker 2: and an office chair, and he admits the office share
- 29:00Speaker 2: is nice, it's a good office.
- 29:03Speaker 1: It's good.
- 29:04Speaker 2: It's a great office chair. He thinks it's comfortable. He's like, okay,
- 29:09Speaker 2: you're right, great, and then she starts saying things that
- 29:14Speaker 2: we also realize our direct comments to him that he doesn't.
- 29:20Speaker 1: Believe because he's used to like.
- 29:24Speaker 2: A passive, aggressive society, and she's kind of direct. So
- 29:28Speaker 2: she's like, I just, you know, don't feel comfortable sharing
- 29:31Speaker 2: a space or like ever living with people.
- 29:36Speaker 1: I don't like having to hold space.
- 29:37Speaker 2: For others and share space with them. Katie, for all
- 29:43Speaker 2: of her eccentricities, is highly judgmental on how Josh lives.
- 29:48Speaker 2: Almost like Katie thinks that everything she does is the
- 29:51Speaker 2: right way and smart way to do things, even though
- 29:54Speaker 2: in confessionals she's also open that her executive functioning and
- 30:01Speaker 2: so some of her like tightly held beliefs about money
- 30:06Speaker 2: or how to buy eggs, or what she wants to
- 30:09Speaker 2: do or what she's capable of doing in any given
- 30:12Speaker 2: time doesn't seem to like follow through with, Like she
- 30:16Speaker 2: doesn't seem to want to change her behavior in the
- 30:20Speaker 2: presence of someone who does things differently. She almost like
- 30:24Speaker 2: leans back on her laurels to defend her behavior, which
- 30:27Speaker 2: is she's like, you put a lot of pressure on
- 30:30Speaker 2: me to get things done in a certain way by
- 30:33Speaker 2: a certain time, And what he wants to do is
- 30:40Speaker 2: like put together a house to be livable, and she
- 30:44Speaker 2: doesn't have all the capabilities to get all that done
- 30:47Speaker 2: because they're overwhelming to her, and she like hyper scrutinizes
- 30:51Speaker 2: the best way and or cheapest way, which is in
- 30:53Speaker 2: her mind the best way to do so. And so
- 30:56Speaker 2: because he wants to get things done, he's not allowing
- 30:59Speaker 2: her to do that process of think about do one
- 31:02Speaker 2: small thing, then get overwhelmed and do something else and
- 31:04Speaker 2: get distracted and then be like, well, just wait, just wait,
- 31:07Speaker 2: just wait, because she doesn't see the value and having
- 31:12Speaker 2: a put together, livable home that feels good to her
- 31:18Speaker 2: visually and space wise, as well as make her partner
- 31:24Speaker 2: happy and feeling settled. Sometimes like disorganization in the mind
- 31:36Speaker 2: not can be remedied, but can feel a certain you know,
- 31:41Speaker 2: relief from being in an organized aesthetically comfortable, if not
- 31:49Speaker 2: beautiful in a way, like aesthetically pleasing space. You know,
- 31:55Speaker 2: like having your shit all over the place and never
- 31:58Speaker 2: making your bed and like how having you know.
- 32:00Speaker 1: Dishes pile up. All of that does something to.
- 32:06Speaker 2: Your mind as well as like all the things you
- 32:09Speaker 2: have to do. It doesn't relieve it, It makes it
- 32:12Speaker 2: more intense because you start to calculate all the things
- 32:16Speaker 2: you have to do and then just the mental fatigue
- 32:19Speaker 2: of your to do list could be overwhelming, but walking
- 32:22Speaker 2: into a space that you've taken the time to put
- 32:25Speaker 2: together that makes you feel relief, slash, capable and productive.
- 32:39Speaker 2: You know, like is mental health, Like it is mentally
- 32:44Speaker 2: healthy and also is positive for like your own self care,
- 32:50Speaker 2: just like in some ways, you know, taking a shower,
- 32:52Speaker 2: doing your hair, putting on clothes that is like clean
- 32:55Speaker 2: and steamed or whatever like that you feel like you
- 32:58Speaker 2: look good like helps visually sort of connect and aligne
- 33:03Speaker 2: your thought processes and how you feel about yourself and
- 33:06Speaker 2: what you know you can accomplish with like the rest
- 33:09Speaker 2: of your day. And that's why I guess I go
- 33:13Speaker 2: back and forth being like, who is her like psychologist
- 33:16Speaker 2: and has she done like cognitive behavioral therapy to understand
- 33:21Speaker 2: like the ways in which she could help herself. It's
- 33:25Speaker 2: just so interesting how defensive she gets about her lifestyle
- 33:28Speaker 2: choices in relationship to him, Because what's also interesting is
- 33:36Speaker 2: that you start to feel a certain level of disrespect
- 33:41Speaker 2: that she has for the way he lives his life.
- 33:45Speaker 1: If he is.
- 33:46Speaker 2: Someone who has made money and who has money and
- 33:48Speaker 2: has savings and wants to like you know, put together
- 33:52Speaker 2: a normal home that has all the accouterments that would
- 33:55Speaker 2: allow you know, daily life to be easy, somewhat comfortab
- 34:00Speaker 2: and you know, like there's eggs involved, and you feel
- 34:03Speaker 2: good about the eggs because you feel like they're either
- 34:05Speaker 2: pasture raised or organic or fresh. And you have a
- 34:08Speaker 2: table to sit on that makes sense, and you have
- 34:11Speaker 2: like a chair to do you're typing from, and you
- 34:13Speaker 2: also have like a full sized bed or queen where
- 34:16Speaker 2: you you know, know that the mattress underneath isn't teeming
- 34:20Speaker 2: with who knows what. You're able to sort of like
- 34:28Speaker 2: breathe in a way and accomplish things in a way
- 34:32Speaker 2: because like you're starting from a good place. And she
- 34:37Speaker 2: like it's like, yeah, she doesn't take any of that
- 34:40Speaker 2: in and she's just like he's wasteful, he's demanding. She's
- 34:51Speaker 2: not at a place yet where she's like, you know what,
- 34:54Speaker 2: you do things differently than me, But I can see
- 34:58Speaker 2: the value of how you want to live, and I
- 35:01Speaker 2: understand that. I am like, so far the pendulum shifts
- 35:05Speaker 2: for me in a different direction. So far I would
- 35:08Speaker 2: really like compromise and come together and like maybe you
- 35:12Speaker 2: can help me, you know, get this place.
- 35:18Speaker 1: Good for both of us.
- 35:21Speaker 2: Or she could easily just be like, all right, we'll
- 35:23Speaker 2: just go out and buy your own eggs with your
- 35:25Speaker 2: own money. Then i won't tell you what's right or wrong.
- 35:29Speaker 2: I'll just assume people do things differently. I know I
- 35:31Speaker 2: do things differently. It's just an interesting place to not
- 35:35Speaker 2: be in. So they get into a crazy conversation because
- 35:41Speaker 2: she's like, yeah, I don't get why I have to
- 35:44Speaker 2: feel any empathy for you at all, because I've gone
- 35:48Speaker 2: in many different countries and pet sat in them for
- 35:52Speaker 2: a year or less, and I've traveled, so like, why
- 35:55Speaker 2: is it so hard for you to come here? And
- 35:56Speaker 2: he's like, bitch, I moved here, and also so like
- 36:00Speaker 2: I left everything I knew and it's hard to be
- 36:02Speaker 2: an immigrant in America. He doesn't say brown person though,
- 36:05Speaker 2: you know, God bless, and she's like like, I guess
- 36:11Speaker 2: I relate. But it's also like crazy that her mind
- 36:16Speaker 2: let her say that sentence in the first place. Guess what,
- 36:22Speaker 2: it's her birthday, and it's interesting that Josh thought that
- 36:26Speaker 2: she was twenty seven when she was only twenty six,
- 36:32Speaker 2: and now it's her twenty seventh birthday. And he's like, oh,
- 36:34Speaker 2: it's not twenty eight? How do you not know the
- 36:36Speaker 2: age of your fiance? Josh really feels like Josh has
- 36:44Speaker 2: never had the possibility of a lady in his life
- 36:52Speaker 2: for longer than like a two day period of time,
- 36:56Speaker 2: and he doesn't want to give it up because his
- 37:03Speaker 2: clock is taken or he wants to be settled in
- 37:06Speaker 2: some way. It's interesting, I already said this out loud,
- 37:11Speaker 2: but like, it's true that some women, some people, some
- 37:15Speaker 2: people give off this like hectic, chaotic energy and it
- 37:20Speaker 2: reads to some boring men as being adventurous, charming, exciting
- 37:29Speaker 2: that her presence brings about experiences that he wouldn't necessarily
- 37:37Speaker 2: have because she provides access to situations he wouldn't be in.
- 37:44Speaker 2: Like either because she is more jovial because of the
- 37:49Speaker 2: alcohol and like invites social people to come in and
- 37:52Speaker 2: then offer certain experiences. Or she's just so down in
- 37:57Speaker 2: the moment for things that she allows them to say
- 38:01Speaker 2: yes to things that they would maybe moll over instead
- 38:05Speaker 2: or not do if it wasn't with her, and that
- 38:10Speaker 2: kind of life force becomes intoxicating to them. It's kind
- 38:17Speaker 2: of like she's not rich right, like, or maybe she is,
- 38:19Speaker 2: but like she's not rich in the sense of like
- 38:22Speaker 2: dating someone who's so wealthy that like they're like, well,
- 38:25Speaker 2: do you want to hop on the PJ and go
- 38:27Speaker 2: to my friend's house and bermuda this weekend?
- 38:29Speaker 1: You know, it's like I haven't.
- 38:30Speaker 2: Dated that person either, But if you're dating that kind
- 38:33Speaker 2: of person, then they have like all of these experiences
- 38:36Speaker 2: that you might just be able to like hitch your
- 38:39Speaker 2: boat to, right, Like, oh, I guess you know this weekend,
- 38:41Speaker 2: I was just going to like stay home and watch
- 38:44Speaker 2: Netflix documentaries. But you know she has all these rich
- 38:48Speaker 2: friends that do these fun things and or you know,
- 38:51Speaker 2: if you were dating someone that was pseudo in some
- 38:53Speaker 2: sort of scene or a famous person.
- 38:56Speaker 1: That.
- 38:58Speaker 2: They color your social life in such a way that.
- 39:05Speaker 1: You can.
- 39:08Speaker 2: Detect in your life before and after the BC and
- 39:11Speaker 2: ad of them in your life, because your life used
- 39:15Speaker 2: to look like, well.
- 39:15Speaker 1: I would just hang with my friends and play D
- 39:17Speaker 1: and D. But then I started dating this person that like,
- 39:20Speaker 1: you know, wants to go to or wants to travel together,
- 39:25Speaker 1: or gets invited to things, or you know, is really
- 39:28Speaker 1: active in some community that I, you know, wouldn't necessarily
- 39:31Speaker 1: be in, but it's fun and you know, makes me
- 39:35Speaker 1: feel like I'm alive. Like she has that quality that
- 39:38Speaker 1: Josh can't get enough of.
- 39:40Speaker 2: So she's like, guess what for my birthday? I'm going
- 39:45Speaker 2: to this is a shock sit down. I want to
- 39:49Speaker 2: go listen to a bar. Okay, wait and drink alcohol
- 39:59Speaker 2: with my friends.
- 40:03Speaker 1: And Josh is like, didn't see that one coming. Has
- 40:12Speaker 1: anyone ever just been like, bitch, go to do like a.
- 40:15Speaker 2: Murder mystery dinner. She's like, I have something to tell you.
- 40:21Speaker 2: Sit down and he's like, uh, okay, are you pregnant?
- 40:24Speaker 2: And she's like, oh no, no, I'm on the pill.
- 40:29Speaker 2: I have one of those copper iud's.
- 40:31Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 40:32Speaker 2: He's like, She's like, remember my friend Ryan, you know
- 40:34Speaker 2: the Ryan that you hate, the Ryan that like knows
- 40:36Speaker 2: that we were together. But then I made out with
- 40:38Speaker 2: him two to four times since we've been together, and
- 40:42Speaker 2: he's like yeah, She's.
- 40:44Speaker 1: Like I invited him.
- 40:47Speaker 2: Ryan is some guy that she went to Chicago one
- 40:49Speaker 2: time and I don't know men in a dating app
- 40:50Speaker 2: and was like or I don't know. She says, a
- 40:52Speaker 2: run club. I mean, is it just like run club
- 40:54Speaker 2: meetups everywhere? And she was like, let's run one day.
- 40:57Speaker 2: Guess what we should do the Boston Marathon, No Chicago Marathon.
- 41:00Speaker 2: I don't know where she met on one of those places, honey,
- 41:02Speaker 2: and he was like okay, and then they just kept
- 41:04Speaker 2: you know, drinking after their like you know, big runs,
- 41:07Speaker 2: you know, and then very dehydrated together and then they
- 41:10Speaker 2: needed to make out. Josh is really mad at Ryan
- 41:14Speaker 2: when he should be mad at who Katie or really himself,
- 41:17Speaker 2: because guess what, he met Katie doing the very thing
- 41:20Speaker 2: that she's doing, which is making out with people, and
- 41:22Speaker 2: for some reason he has a problem with that. You know,
- 41:26Speaker 2: she told him that she's that kind of person and
- 41:29Speaker 2: showed him.
- 41:31Speaker 1: Why is he mad at Ryan? Makes no sense? So
- 41:35Speaker 1: we also find.
- 41:35Speaker 2: Out that Joshua has a list of people that he
- 41:38Speaker 2: doesn't like in her life. And I'm sure they're just
- 41:41Speaker 2: all the men that she was hooked up with, but
- 41:42Speaker 2: if he was also like, and your mom's on that list.
- 41:44Speaker 1: Just kidding.
- 41:45Speaker 2: But she of course invited Ryan and then she has
- 41:47Speaker 2: to tell him to his face and he's like, Okay, well,
- 41:50Speaker 2: what I don't want you to do, though, is take
- 41:53Speaker 2: shots and make out with people. And she sometimes she
- 41:58Speaker 2: looks at him and the confessionals or in the docuseries
- 42:02Speaker 2: are watching where you see her eyes yell at him no,
- 42:10Speaker 2: but she stopped her lips from doing so. But she's
- 42:14Speaker 2: kind of like blinking and rebooting in that process.
- 42:20Speaker 1: So it looks like this, like I know you're on
- 42:29Speaker 1: a podcast, so you're like, bitch, what did you just do?
- 42:31Speaker 1: It's just, yeah, you know what I did. It's her face.
- 42:33Speaker 2: She talks in tiktoks about the fact that she knows
- 42:36Speaker 2: she's a blinker and she doesn't know why she does it.
- 42:39Speaker 2: Maybe she doesn't when she's thinking or having thoughts, and
- 42:42Speaker 2: guess what, she has a lot of thinking thought moments.
- 42:48Speaker 2: She's like, Okay, I won't take shots and make out
- 42:52Speaker 2: with people. It's just that sometimes I like to seek
- 42:57Speaker 2: and rerec validation. And she like thrill and entertainment. Josh
- 43:03Speaker 2: is like me too, That's why I'm with you. Don't
- 43:06Speaker 2: you get those things with me? Aren't I thrilling and
- 43:10Speaker 2: entertaining enough for you? And Katie is like blink.
- 43:15Speaker 1: Blink blink, blink, blink blink blink blink, blink, lips just
- 43:18Speaker 1: pursing into a no, just being like mm mmmmm mm hmmm.
- 43:27Speaker 2: Is Joshua a runner? Like is he you know, it
- 43:32Speaker 2: seems like he's running towards his problems. Katie, he doesn't
- 43:38Speaker 2: seem like a runner. He seems like a stare. He
- 43:41Speaker 2: seems like a floater that attaches his dinghy or gets
- 43:45Speaker 2: his anchor and then just sits for too long in
- 43:49Speaker 2: troubled waters.
- 43:51Speaker 1: Mm hmm. I work in metaphors now.
- 43:57Speaker 2: Katie has moments of lucidity, which makes us wonder why
- 44:00Speaker 2: she doesn't like keep on to them, because she's like,
- 44:02Speaker 2: I want to be a good partner and we're like
- 44:04Speaker 2: you do, oh you do?
- 44:06Speaker 1: Oh well, then here's some things.
- 44:09Speaker 2: Allow other people to live, especially when you live so
- 44:14Speaker 2: specifically and particularly.
- 44:18Speaker 1: Also don't you know, disrespect them on national television over
- 44:27Speaker 1: and over again doing the same shit that you can
- 44:30Speaker 1: stop by not putting yourself in those situations, but you
- 44:34Speaker 1: do over and over again. Can you imagine, like how
- 44:41Speaker 1: many great things in Portland she could do for her birthday?
- 44:44Speaker 1: But you know, she goes to a place called the
- 44:48Speaker 1: Twilight Room, so.
- 44:52Speaker 2: She's trying to confirm who's going to be there, and
- 44:55Speaker 2: then Josh is like, have you texted that guy I hate?
- 44:57Speaker 2: And she's like, yep, yep, we didn't talk on the phone. Though,
- 45:04Speaker 2: so we didn't talk on the phone. It's like, bitch,
- 45:06Speaker 2: we're twenties. You don't talk on the phone anymore. Then
- 45:09Speaker 2: you guys talk on the phone. What do you mean
- 45:11Speaker 2: talk on the phone like your voice people to send
- 45:14Speaker 2: voice notes back and forth.
- 45:15Speaker 1: Now you know that.
- 45:18Speaker 2: Now Josh asks the question, why do you want to
- 45:20Speaker 2: be friends with someone who we both know you don't
- 45:23Speaker 2: really have friend vibes with and you have repeatedly like
- 45:27Speaker 2: kissed and it makes me upset, And she's like, well,
- 45:31Speaker 2: he's fun, you're not. And also he would pick up
- 45:37Speaker 2: if I called him in the middle and I crying.
- 45:43Speaker 2: I found that very interesting also just to say it
- 45:48Speaker 2: is like your partner who I'm assuming is there in
- 45:53Speaker 2: the middle of the night physically with you if you
- 45:56Speaker 2: are waking up and crying. But we also know that
- 46:00Speaker 2: she meant she wants someone to when she's drunk in
- 46:06Speaker 2: the middle of the night, she can call and he
- 46:08Speaker 2: can come over, like to be like, he's fun and
- 46:14Speaker 2: I get emotional support from him.
- 46:17Speaker 1: Seems like cheating.
- 46:20Speaker 2: You just met this guy like at a meetup club
- 46:23Speaker 2: for runners, like and then you guys made out, Like
- 46:26Speaker 2: what is this person going to tell you?
- 46:28Speaker 1: In a different city if you're crying.
- 46:30Speaker 2: Also, yeah, like the fact that Josh isn't like, well,
- 46:32Speaker 2: you would also just wake me up and I would
- 46:34Speaker 2: help you through that time.
- 46:36Speaker 1: I'm your soon to be husband.
- 46:42Speaker 2: He's like, well, what would you do if I was
- 46:45Speaker 2: the one that wanted to repeatedly be around someone who
- 46:50Speaker 2: I was emotionally cheating with? And she's like, oh, I
- 46:51Speaker 2: would hate that. I would ask you.
- 46:52Speaker 1: Not to hang out with him. I would just yeah,
- 46:54Speaker 1: but I don't want to be a hypocrite. So we're like, well,
- 46:57Speaker 1: you just said that, so you are. But you just
- 47:04Speaker 1: said that, and you heard yourself say it. It didn't
- 47:07Speaker 1: even dawn on you after you say it to be
- 47:09Speaker 1: like you know what, You're right, She just says, I
- 47:12Speaker 1: don't want to be a hypocrite, so and then she
- 47:15Speaker 1: just stops talking. He yikes.
- 47:22Speaker 2: Okay, So she sort of lets it slip that she
- 47:32Speaker 2: is sort of low key trying to make him break
- 47:36Speaker 2: up with her by bringing up and or putting herselfs
- 47:40Speaker 2: in situations to make out with people.
- 47:42Speaker 1: And then we sort of remember her.
- 47:44Speaker 2: Being like, I don't want to live with anyone, And
- 47:45Speaker 2: then we sort of remember her being like, I didn't
- 47:47Speaker 2: want you to move here. I don't really know if
- 47:49Speaker 2: I want to get married. And then we're like, what's real?
- 47:54Speaker 2: Do you have OCD that makes you have intrusive thoughts
- 47:56Speaker 2: about making out with people? Are you an alcoholic and
- 47:59Speaker 2: that's why you want to make it up people? Are
- 48:01Speaker 2: you just like not really into Josh and also feel
- 48:03Speaker 2: like you have better prospects out there, and so you
- 48:05Speaker 2: like are leading him on, but also want him to
- 48:07Speaker 2: be the one that breaks up with you, so you
- 48:09Speaker 2: don't You're not a bad person, and so you just
- 48:11Speaker 2: keep making out with people. Is I also, Josh, like,
- 48:17Speaker 2: are you picking up on what she's putting down? Which
- 48:18Speaker 2: is what I'm just saying out loud right now. When
- 48:21Speaker 2: they get to the Toilight Room bar, she says that
- 48:24Speaker 2: her phone is stressing her out, and uh so she
- 48:26Speaker 2: gives her phone to Josh and we're like, Yeah, why
- 48:28Speaker 2: is your phone stressing you out? Is it that people
- 48:31Speaker 2: keep texting you on your birthday to be like we're
- 48:32Speaker 2: going to be there soon or whatnot? That part I get,
- 48:35Speaker 2: But it's more more so that she thinks, I think
- 48:37Speaker 2: that she's going to lose her phone, so she asks
- 48:39Speaker 2: Josh to put in her pocket now at that point,
- 48:42Speaker 2: why Josh does a low key text Ryan. It's like
- 48:44Speaker 2: we changed locations, go to the Portland Bridge.
- 48:48Speaker 1: He doesn't.
- 48:50Speaker 2: Now Josh shows up like in a dinner jacket and
- 48:54Speaker 2: her friends show up with a baby and like Patagonia
- 48:58Speaker 2: coats no like a dinner, you know, like it's just
- 49:03Speaker 2: a He dresses wildly different than how people in Portland dress.
- 49:10Speaker 2: Ryan comes up and we meet Ryan, and we also
- 49:13Speaker 2: realize Ryan is a little bit of a blinker too.
- 49:16Speaker 2: He does that like one second blink that's a little
- 49:19Speaker 2: too long, but also like mildly interesting and also neuro
- 49:23Speaker 2: divergent maybe in some way, you know what I'm saying. Yeah,
- 49:33Speaker 2: he's he has a little like one of those like
- 49:36Speaker 2: slight blink ticks.
- 49:40Speaker 1: He's also in love with Katie.
- 49:43Speaker 2: He can blame honey, but you won't miss that gaze.
- 49:48Speaker 2: So he also sort of reiterates things that we already
- 49:51Speaker 2: know that like is Katie's pull on a certain type
- 49:54Speaker 2: of men. He's like, she's just that whirlwind friend that
- 49:58Speaker 2: creates interesting opportunities and situations wherever she goes.
- 50:03Speaker 1: I can't get enough of it.
- 50:07Speaker 2: So then Josh takes Ryan out to the back and
- 50:11Speaker 2: Katie's just there standing awkwardly looking back and forth, and
- 50:14Speaker 2: Josh is.
- 50:15Speaker 1: Like, why are you here?
- 50:18Speaker 2: And Ryan is like, well, because I thought it'd be
- 50:22Speaker 2: a good time. She's a good time goal, it's a
- 50:26Speaker 2: good time. Gal's birthday, and I was traveling.
- 50:28Speaker 1: Also, I'm a big runner, you haven't you heard, so
- 50:30Speaker 1: I ran here to the birthday. You know.
- 50:34Speaker 2: Also I kind of want Ryan to be like, oh,
- 50:36Speaker 2: because your girlfriend invited me. I have the text to
- 50:42Speaker 2: prove it and the voice notes. But then Ryan says
- 50:47Speaker 2: something very interesting, and this is where the episode ends
- 50:51Speaker 2: for them, because you know, it's a cliffhanger. He says
- 50:55Speaker 2: that he talks to Katie, and you know, they talk
- 51:00Speaker 2: a lot about what she wants out of life and
- 51:03Speaker 2: what she wants in her life, which leads us to
- 51:09Speaker 2: believe Eddie the following things that Katie's like, I'll tell
- 51:13Speaker 2: you what I want Ryan, it's you. I just don't
- 51:15Speaker 2: know how to tell Josh or I tell you what
- 51:18Speaker 2: I want Ryan, It's to be in a polyamorous relationship.
- 51:23Speaker 1: And I want to be in one with you and Josh.
- 51:27Speaker 2: Or hey, Ryan, I want to culk Josh cock wait
- 51:34Speaker 2: cuckled Josh. It's really it's my thing, and how do
- 51:39Speaker 2: we get him on board? Like she either is going
- 51:44Speaker 2: to have Ryan break up with Josh for her, like
- 51:47Speaker 2: that is what it all sort of like feels like. Meanwhile,
- 51:52Speaker 2: I mean Katie is just there looking at both of them,
- 52:00Speaker 2: Lincoln wanting to take shots. Obviously we know what's going
- 52:06Speaker 2: to happen. It's absolute messiness and I can't wait for it.
- 52:09Speaker 2: So listen. That's the end of part one, my loves,
- 52:12Speaker 2: Please go on and listen to part two because we
