- 1:07kindle or not a nonsense. Well, now, our Christmas shows continue as
- 1:15we bring you today from December twenty fifth of nineteen forty three. Nick Carter's
- 1:21Christmas Adventure. Yes, it's another case for that most famous of all manhunters,
- 1:36the detective was ability of solving crime is unequaled in the history of detective
- 1:40fiction. Nick Cutter, Master Detective, The Night's Curious Adventure, A special
- 1:46Christmas story, Nick Cutter's Christmas Adventure, The Mystery of the Reluctant Contributor.
- 2:05Well, Nick, we've been pretty much known. Why haven't we asked?
- 2:07Guvey we had? Which is another way of saying that folks are usually willing
- 2:10to contribute to your settlement house Christmas party every year. Nick, now's covey.
- 2:14I was just thinking about this last name on elis Yeah, Rasper.
- 2:17I don't know him personally, you no, I don't, but somebody must
- 2:21have thought he was rich enough or interested enough in the work to make a
- 2:23substantial contribution. Oh here's the hey, is this pay Nick? What's that
- 2:29address again? Five seventy six milkon that? Yes, that's right, and
- 2:34there's his name on the door. Play I must take a look, Scubby.
- 2:37Oh gosh, this doesn't make sense, Dick. A guy who still
- 2:38doesn't hide away at a place like this, Well, knock on the door
- 2:42anyhow? Who doesn't seem to be anybody here? Noluscy, I hear someone
- 2:51coming? Who is it? I'm Nicholas Cotter. May I speak to mister
- 2:55Rasper please? Nick Cuttery, Yes, yes, and this is my Assiseton.
- 3:00Scubby Wilson, how do you do you, mister Rasper? Yes,
- 3:02well, come in, come in, it's cold out there, letting all
- 3:06the heat out home. Bag your pardon? Wan Scuby, I'm in,
- 3:07Nick, I'm in. Oh I wasn't you wanted? Oh, mister Rasper,
- 3:12I have come to see if you would care to make a contribution to
- 3:14my Christmas party. I never made contributions, ah, but you didn't.
- 3:17Let Nick finish, sir. The fund provides food extra clothing for the needy
- 3:21of deserving. The show Sutty Department's still working, isn't it well, of
- 3:23course, mister Rasper. But my object is to provide an inspiration for the
- 3:27young people who are under privilege. People who haven't got any money are always
- 3:30trying to get it from those who have. Then you aren't interested in seeing
- 3:32that the children of the Lincoln Hall district helped to a little happiness on Christmas
- 3:37Day. Oh, I'm not Christmas is an old fashioned I don't believe in
- 3:39it. It's a waste of money and times today, Paul Well, mister
- 3:44Rasper. It's always been a lot of fun for me personally, but I
- 3:46must say that I've always felt better for celebrating, and I'm a plan to
- 3:50agree with scobby. Mister Rasper. Christmas has always been a bright spot in
- 3:53my life, and I feel sure that if you knew the good it has
- 3:55done throughout the world. It makes you change your mind, Robbie. Well,
- 4:00in any case, I'll marry Christmas to you. Good Dave here Christmas
- 4:04and leaves a lot of nuns and the Come on, Nick, let's get
- 4:09back to civilization. You know, Scubby Batman's wealthy, no doubt about that,
- 4:13and yet he's solid on Christmas and everything it stands for. You said,
- 4:16I'm mouthful of me, you know, Scoby. There must be reason
- 4:19why he thinks that way, and I'd like to find out what it is.
- 4:23But you having anything to work on, Nick knows Scuby. I haven't
- 4:25not yet, but look here, I can finish up whatever has to be
- 4:28done this afternoon. Suppose you hop down to the newspaper office and go through
- 4:30the files there. There might just be something we could learn about Rasper that
- 4:33way, Okay, Nick, I'll be glad to Then I'll have Roley check
- 4:36through the files at headquarters. It's a long shot, but something might turn
- 4:40up. Sure, maybe Patsy is run into something while she's been working out
- 4:43at the settlement house. She might know somebody who knows something about Raspor.
- 4:46Yeah, she might. At that I'll ask her about it, okay,
- 4:47and maybe with all of us working together on it, we may learn why
- 4:50Rasper's or dead set against Christmas. I'd certainly like to find out. Hello,
- 5:04he's that Tonick Riley talking. I've been through my files here and I
- 5:10can't find anything charged against the man named Ben Rasper. He was licensed to
- 5:14do business with a man named Howard Lowe, but low died some years ago.
- 5:17Otherwise, Rasper is just a successful businessman. That's right. Uh,
- 5:21I'll tell you what to Nick. There's an old fellow named Fred Anderson who
- 5:26used to be on the force who knows Rasper for sure. You can find
- 5:29him at Lincoln Hard where you're giving the party. No, he's the watchman
- 5:32there now, Okay, Nick, that's all right. I'll see you tomorrow.
- 5:47Hello, yes, cry oh you did? Eh Sposhal Morah? Well?
- 5:53Hell what was that name again, Chris Baum? Why? Yes,
- 5:57yes, I recall No, I'll done about an hour. So I want
- 6:00to call Patsy first, right, and thanks, Gubby bye. Jingle bells,
- 6:06jingle jingle boy guys, dingle bells ing you Ho, hey, Patsy,
- 6:17how's everything? Huh? Oh? Fine, I'm coming down to the
- 6:20hall. Is anything you want me to bring along? Huh? Are sure
- 6:25I can do that? But will that be enough? Though? Okay?
- 6:30Yeah, yescubby just called or you've found out something about Rasper? What you
- 6:34did too? How is he named Jimmy? Uh? And he's coming to
- 6:40our party? Oh fine, fine, Patsy, Okay, I've seen it
- 6:43a little while. Bye, that's fine. We've collected enough to move vis
- 6:59his party up right now, let's get organized ROLLI. Your job will be
- 7:01to get the kids and the needy persons round about. Sure he can't take
- 7:04care of it. I got your lists in the list from this social worker
- 7:08from the church down there, and there are plenty of others who need to
- 7:11lift this year. Believe me, I know what Riley, and I'll depend
- 7:14on you. Scabby. It's your job to see that the tree and decorations
- 7:16and gifts are taken care of. Don't worry Nick decorating. It's my middle
- 7:20name. I'll make Lincoln Hall look like a million dollars in care a good
- 7:24boy, good boy, and Patsy, you see to it that there's plenty
- 7:28to eat and drink for the party, so I won't have to worry about
- 7:30that. I'll take care of the bills, and you have the letters of
- 7:31credit the stores gave us. You don't how to do that here thing?
- 7:33Nick, I've been through with you walking on off before I ought to know
- 7:36what you want by this day? Well, what are you going to be
- 7:39doing? Nick? Me? Well, Riley, I'm gonna do a little
- 7:42depecking. I'm going to look into those tips you Patsy and Scobby gave me
- 7:46about those people who know Ben Rasper. And by the time I'm through,
- 7:48I hope to find out why it is that he hates Christmas the way he
- 7:51does. Then well then maybe I'll be able to do something about it.
- 8:00Oh yes, is it right for talking? Yes? I sent you the
- 8:16bell, didn't I? Well, what are they doing the twenty sevenths?
- 8:20No yet I got to the holidays. Non tell the reason for those to
- 8:24be unpaid? Goodbye? Fool nonsense, That's what it is. There's a
- 8:30lot of fools talking big. Ain't your Rasper? Who's what do you want?
- 8:33Don't you remember me? Rasper? No? I don't remember you.
- 8:37Whuaia. He used to call me the kid Chris. The kid Chris sometimes
- 8:41known as the human Flesh. Push you. Oh well, it's been a
- 8:48long time raspa, isn't it. How'd you find me? Who sent you
- 8:52here? A fellow named Nick Carter told me I'd find you here in your
- 8:56office, even if it is Christmas Eve. Nick Cutter, Oh yes,
- 9:00I want. I'm going to give him some money for some fool party or
- 9:03for the party at Lincoln Hall. I guess Heyce never asked me for anything,
- 9:07just gave me what I needed when I needed. Yeah, so you
- 9:11hired you to come here and take up my tire again. He didn't send
- 9:15me here. This said I'd find you here. That's all. I came
- 9:18here on my own accord, just to wish your merry Christmas. Thought should
- 9:24say that, Well, I don't mind, because it's on account of Nick
- 9:26Karta that I can stand on my own feet again, not on account of
- 9:31you. Watch that you mind if I sit down? It was on Christmas
- 9:37Eve that we won our first fight, wasn't it? Fight? Oh yeah,
- 9:41A long time ago. It was a long time ago. I can
- 9:43remember the noise of the crowd, the glare of the lights, and the
- 9:46smoke curling around, and the brightness over the ring, and you leaning old
- 9:50of me with that wet towel. He kind of joined Chris. Another one
- 9:56like that last round, and you'll have him in the rope. It's on
- 9:58account. How do you feel now, kidd, I'm okay, Raspe.
- 10:01Just let me ad me. I don't have to wait any morning. It's
- 10:03my knee right now. You take your orders from me. Kid, If
- 10:07behind the brain's here, when you get the signal from me, you'll give
- 10:09it to him. Okay, Araspee, you got a bossy keep me should
- 10:16high mighty that you can take him. I'll take him now. There are
- 10:31a lot of those little affairs after that, Rasper, and I always did
- 10:35what I was told. Yes, a good fighter, Chris, good fighter.
- 10:39I made a lot of money for us in those spots of Rasper.
- 10:41Lot of my old days, Cris. I'll the water has gone on lots
- 10:45of bridges since then, I know, And the percentage you paid me didn't
- 10:48last long either. It went just like that water. But I didn't care
- 10:52much about things like that. The day a friend of mine came and gave
- 10:56me a warning tip and started me thinking, oh, Cad, how do
- 11:03you feel? Hello? Rast? Wait? I thin I have wanted to
- 11:05talk to you. I haven't around. What's up? I got a tip
- 11:09today. She's signing up Timmy, O'Day you got to manage him. But
- 11:13don's that never mind? Is it true? That depends depends on what that
- 11:18kid? You're getting slow? Our day's fresh. He'll be the next champ.
- 11:22If he wins this fight with you tonight, I'm taking him over.
- 11:24If I win tonight, I'm taking a day over. Anyhow, we've been
- 11:28together a long time. Kidding. They don't pay to get into too much
- 11:30of a rut. So that's all it means to Is it money to payoff?
- 11:33Huh? What about all the years we've known each other? What about
- 11:37the things we've been through? Why you don't get yourself all in a sweat?
- 11:41Kid? Isn't good for you. You'll get your cut anyway. Don't
- 11:43worry, you'll get your cut. I see you later last night. Well,
- 11:48I do tell me what to do. I can't see him my eyes.
- 11:54I'll past up. He's cut me the ribbons. Tell me what to
- 11:58do? That's me, but I mean can't. Here's your own judgment.
- 12:01You're on your wrong as job now. But Rasper, you always here on
- 12:05your wrong kid, And I can still see it sitting there in the ring
- 12:13corner. Laughing at me. But that was the last thing I saw for
- 12:18a long time. Oh day, sort of that. You must have coached
- 12:24him pretty thorough about my style and then you really cashed in. Well,
- 12:28I haven't got much myself, but I'm still able to wish you merry Christmas,
- 12:33Rasper, although I don't think you'll ever have one of Chris. Well,
- 12:37I got some things to do, ras Carter asked me to pick up
- 12:39some things for the party at Lincoln Hall tomorrow. We always have a swell
- 12:43time at Carter's Christmas parties. Too bad you can't enjoy anything like that anymore.
- 12:48Well, as I said before Rasper married, how can a man work
- 13:07with his mind whirling like a merry go around Christmas Eve? God, it's
- 13:13a fight excuse for people to go around yelling at each other in the streets,
- 13:16sturbing him man when he wants to get some work done, I might
- 13:22as well close the office and get some rest. We'll have been home by
- 13:24now if the kid Chris hadn't taken up so much time. Chris did for
- 13:31a living. Now, wonder if that's none of my concern. Can home
- 13:35and get some sleep? That's what I need? Who's that I'm closing up.
- 13:39Come back tomorrow morning. Oh, I'm glad I got here before you
- 13:41left it. Who is it? HiT's Nina then? Oh, Nina,
- 13:46I only stop by to speak to you for a moment and getting quite later.
- 13:50Well, sit down for a moment, Nina. Thank you. Let
- 13:54me get your chair. I suppose it's rather bold of me to come after
- 14:01all this time, But I know, Nana. No why I'm glad you
- 14:05did. Is there something you want? No, No, there's nothing you
- 14:11can do for me. Ben, Jimmy and I are doing very nicely.
- 14:15I just wanted to wish you a merry Christmas. I was in the neighborhood
- 14:18doing some shopping for the party that mister Carter's giving it Lincoln Hall tomorrow.
- 14:22And Janina Jimmy, I mean, oh, he's fine, Ben. He's
- 14:26full of life and interested in everything. He has a good head on his
- 14:31shoulder, isn't He's very handsome too. Oh that's fine, just fine.
- 14:35Uh you're looking a little tired, Ben, Are you feeling well? Oh?
- 14:41Yes, yes, of course I have been working hard, that's all.
- 14:43I don't spend much time at home much reason to that's the way you
- 14:50want it, Ben, don't you remember Nana? Where you there's Daddy?
- 15:01You wait here for Mommy like a good boy, won't you. I'm coming,
- 15:03Ben, I've been giving a dinner warm for you. I hope you'll
- 15:09what's anoa? Ben? You look as if there's nothing, Nina, nothing.
- 15:11I'm in a hurry, that's all. You're always in a hurry,
- 15:13aren't you never have time for Go down, Ben, I'll I'll have it
- 15:20for you right away. This plate is half now, be careful you don't
- 15:26bring you I won't. It's all Please who you are? Dear Ben?
- 15:33When you've finished, won't you take time enough out of your business to help
- 15:35me get the tree decorated. I know Jimmy's too young to know much about
- 15:41it, but I'd love to have these Christmas already for him in the morning.
- 15:43Look, I'm putting the sleep right away and then we can die.
- 15:46So yeah, I have some Holly and missles over the fireplace and enter.
- 15:50I won't. It's Ben, it's Christmas Eve. Surely you have to get
- 15:58back to the office. I'm putting on a champion match for a day in
- 16:00January, and the things aboun haywire, something that can't wait till tomorrow.
- 16:04You have to get it organized right away, that's all. Then this is
- 16:08Christmas Eve. Tomorrow will be Jimmy's first Christmas. Doesn't that mean anything to
- 16:15you? You and Jimmy celebrate Christmas anyway, you wander, Mina, I
- 16:18have something more important to do. Business is more important than sentiment. You
- 16:25suddainly can see that, Yes, Ben, I can see that. I've
- 16:32been seeing it more and more during the last few years. I thought that
- 16:36when Jimmy came, maybe you would. No. I was wrong, wasn't
- 16:41i, Ben, You'd even let your love for business break up, our
- 16:45home break up our Don't be melodramatic, Nina. Nothing melodramatic, Ben,
- 16:51I'm trying to be very calm and quiet about it. I've had a lot
- 16:56of time to think when I've sat alone here night after night, and those
- 17:00days on end, when you've been away attending to your business, and what
- 17:03has come out of all this thinking you've done just this? Then I'm not
- 17:07going on any longer. Either you belong to your family or your family will
- 17:14get along without you. I have to rush it. Good night, God,
- 17:17good night, Ben, It's good goodbye. Jimmy and I are leaving
- 17:22tonight. Look, I havn't time to talk about it with you now.
- 17:26Oh, by the way, this will probably take most of the night.
- 17:29Good Night, goodbye, then, Ry christ I never had much of a
- 17:42chance to make it up to you, Mina. You've had all the chance
- 17:47you wanted. Ben. I just dropped by to say hello and to give
- 17:52you a wish for happiness during the holidays. It's hard not to share with
- 17:56you the joy I have with Jimmy. I I wish you could see his
- 18:00eyes dance at mister Carter's Christmas parties. Unfortunately, on what little I make,
- 18:06we can very well afford to have our Christmas at home, but somehow
- 18:08we don't miss it. Everybody has such a grand time at mister Carter's party,
- 18:12and Jimmy does enjoy every minute that he's there. And it's all I'll
- 18:18have to be on my way, jim He's waiting for me, and I
- 18:19have to make one more stop for mister Carter. Good Night, Ben,
- 18:23and Merry Christmas. This stuff doesn't taste like anything, nothing at all.
- 18:41I can't understand what's got into me. It's good food, fixed the same
- 18:44as always is, just doesn't taste right. That's all. What's it's someone
- 18:51at the door of this time of the night. I'm coming. I'm coming
- 18:59lit bed, It's said Anderson. Let up, I'll get home. I'm
- 19:03over at home this time of nine heyshes ip pos you up? Ben?
- 19:06Are going to come in, of course. And I brought your package.
- 19:08Ben. Nick Carter sent me around with it, said you'd probably be here
- 19:12alone tomorrow and he'd like you to have it. Carter, what's Carter sending
- 19:17me? You might open it and see Ben, I'm no mind reader,
- 19:21that's any reason why Carter had want of what wine? And see the card
- 19:29many Christmas from Nick Carter? What's the idea you know anything about this friend?
- 19:34No? But Nick Carter's a funny duck. There's lots of things people
- 19:37don't expect him to why. I don't even know the man only saw him
- 19:41once. And then you want the glass of this wine? Friend? Don't
- 19:48mind if I do, Ben change It's Christmas Eve. I don't mind at
- 19:52all. And there's some glasses here somewhere. Say hurry open this thing.
- 19:56I'll do it for you, Ben. Yeah, Well go ahead, you
- 20:03open it. Eh. Oh, it's all right. There ain't a drinking
- 20:07with me. Ben, huh, oh, I will that's a ticket.
- 20:15Well, he's very Christmas for you here, Ben, Yes, very Christmas.
- 20:22Oh have you been giving yourself? Friend? Oh, I've been sort
- 20:26of walking around Lincoln Hall since I was retired from the force. Say,
- 20:29you know, while I was coming here tonight, I was thinking about those
- 20:33old days when I walked a beat funy. Most folks call them the good
- 20:37old days, But I don't. You did all right in those times,
- 20:38and oh, sure I got along. I was just thinking about the different
- 20:44attitudes folks have nowadays thought being given a hand, they appreciate it more.
- 20:48It seems to me he still chardy for it. That hasn't changed. I
- 20:52guess it's all in the point of view. Ben, I guess you haven't
- 20:56changed with the times. That night I mentioned near the bridge, I was
- 21:00sure you were going to see that you were headed in the wrong direction and
- 21:03week up in time. Remember that night, being which Christmas Eve you just
- 21:08come from the arena. They'd handed you your walking papers because you let them
- 21:12down A very Christmas officer. Very Christmas to you, sir. Well what
- 21:23you doing out on a night like this? Ben? I thought you'd be
- 21:26able at the arena get into New Year's fights lined up. Well, oh
- 21:29it's you Anderson. Now I'm not of the arena anymore. That's so what
- 21:33happened? They decided tonight that'd rather have Davis take over my job time Christmas
- 21:38present bat is, Well that's tough. You's been. What's gonna do now?
- 21:44I don't know. I can't seem to think straight. Oh that's a
- 21:47crazy way for a man like you to talk on a Christmas Eve too.
- 21:51Christmas Eve, that's never been anything that jinks to me. First, I
- 21:55get stuck with that, no good fight or a day. Then Nina leaves
- 21:56me and takes my son with it, and now Weena throws me out.
- 22:02Well, maybe you better stop and find out what it is you're doing wrong.
- 22:04Ben, Maybe you're the one that's to blame, not Christmas Eve.
- 22:08They all take advantage of me. I made all the money I could for
- 22:11them, but I'm not gonna do it anymore. Take it easy, Ben,
- 22:15take it easy. You better go home and think it over. I
- 22:18have thought it over, Fred, and I know what the answer is.
- 22:21I'm gonna make money for myself and nobody else. I'll show these people I
- 22:25don't make so much money they'll come crawling to me on their knees and I
- 22:29won't have to ask for anybody's sympathy. You don't pay to think like that,
- 22:32Ben, You'll regret it now. Look, I know the pill points
- 22:37and who runs the shoe store down on Elam Street is looking for a man
- 22:38to buy in with him. Me work in a shoe store. Not in
- 22:42your life, Fred, I'm going after the big money. Big money,
- 22:45that's the only thing people understand, and I'm gonna get it now. You
- 22:51got it, Ben, one of the richest men in town. And once
- 22:53she got you, why, I don't know, Ben. Too bad you
- 23:00don't get around and see what nice people that are in the world, People
- 23:03like this Carter Fella, for instance. Does a man good To know people
- 23:07like him? Makes you feel that really is a Santa Claus To see him
- 23:11bring the smiles in the kids' faces, those parties and kids down Atdrincoln Hall.
- 23:18Well, I'll be getting back there now, and I've got a big
- 23:21day tomorrow. I'm not as young as he used to be. Merry Christmas
- 23:26to you, Ben. I'll tell Nina I saw you. She'll be at
- 23:29the party tomorrow with young Jimmy. Good Night, then tell everybody quiet now,
- 23:45I'm bad right away. Knock you all right up along the wall over
- 23:52there and watch it out here by the tree. But that o Riley has
- 23:55here yet? There you go out of the table there it gets a reclass
- 24:00light up that wat's out here. Come on, make your time now,
- 24:11well, Patsy, how's it going? I'm making wonderful time, Paul.
- 24:15That's flying Patsy. Patsy. Look over there by the door. What do

- 26:25that to to buy there. Oh hello, Jimmy, here you are,
- 26:32and the Merry Christmas. So oh well, that was the day for you.
- 26:51Gosh, I haven't had so much fun since last year. And you
- 26:52played those games harder than any two kids in the bench. Coully, Yeah,
- 26:56a lot, practically. Yeah, Widie, really have to be in
- 27:00condition to keep up with these kids. Boy, they're wonders. They wanted
- 27:03they get all that energy. That will be one of the world's great mysteries
- 27:07for Abascuby. Nick, what he's thinking so hard about? Oh? I
- 27:11was. I was just thinking of the way mister Rasper took to the party.
- 27:14Hey, don't you mean the way the party took to mister Rasper?
- 27:17Nick? Yeah, I never saw a man open up the boy he did.
- 27:18I was wonderful. The children just walked around him. That's one of
- 27:22the greatest jobs that Nick caught her ever did. What do you mean,
- 27:26Rileigh, Well, Patsy, you'll never believe it. But when Nick and
- 27:27I went to see Rasper, to get a contribution to the party. He
- 27:32was the hardest case of undultivated unpleasantness I ever saw a lot. Somehow Nick
- 27:37managed to get under his skin and bring out well what she saw to night.
- 27:40Well, for Heaven's sake, how did you do it? Well?
- 27:42It wasn't difficult, Patsy. You see, I could see when we first
- 27:45spoke to Rasper that he was fighting something. But I didn't know what it
- 27:48was. But but Riley Scubby and you told me. I found at three
- 27:52different times Christmas Eve had brought him bad luck. First the fighter o day,
- 27:56Then Missus Rasper had left Rasper on Christmas Eve, taking his son Jimmy
- 28:00with her. And third he'd lost his promoter's connection at the arena, also
- 28:04on Christmas Eve. Well, the whole thing added up. Rasper associated Christmas
- 28:10Eve with a list of unfortunate incidents and bought anything that suggested the holidays to
- 28:14him. He made a lot of money, but it never brought him happiness.
- 28:18The big thing for me was to make him realize that people and Christmas
- 28:22meant good and not evil. And from what I saw this afternoon, the
- 28:26Rasper family in the whole neighborhood for that matter is going to benefit by his
- 28:30awakening to that realization. I'll make that wonderful. You did have a kids
- 28:34for that. Oh thanks, Massy, I'm glad you feel that way too.
- 28:38You know. I'm happier this evening because of mister Rasper, and I
- 28:41would be if I'd solved twenty murders. He's made this a really merry Christmas
- 28:47for all of us. This has been another of the strange adventures of Nick
- 29:11Carter, Master Detective, which are brought to you regularly at this time by
- 29:17W O R. Mutual. What's your story going to be about next time?
- 29:19Nick? It's a little different from the usual story because it started out
- 29:23with Nick himself being the victim of a holder. Yes, and the men
- 29:26who held me up turned out to be innocent after all. Sounds a trifle
- 29:30complicated to me. It was complicated but interesting, and it gave me plenty
- 29:33of trouble before I found the solution, including a saw trout that almost finished
- 29:37Nick Carter a saw throat? Why should that be dangerous? Because there was
- 29:41a kind that you get from a rope around your neck. Hey, wait
- 29:44a minute, you mean all the rest of the story you get two weeks
- 29:47from tonight that's now so long, everybody, so long, So long both
- 29:52of you in the strange adventure you have just heard. Nick Carter was impersonated
- 29:56by Lon Clark, Patsy by Helen Choult, and Scuby by John Kin.
- 30:00The story was written for Nick Carter by Humphrey Davis. Original music was played
- 30:06by Lou White. The entire production was under the direction of Josh McGregor.
- 30:25Two weeks from the Night, at the same time, listened to another Curious
- 30:27Experience of Nick Carter entitled All Disguis Nick Carter as the Mystery of the Kidnapped
- 30:34Harris. This story is a copyrighted feature of Street and Smith Publications Incorporated.
- 30:47The Return of Nick Carter is produced in the studios of w o R and
- 30:51is broadcast over most of these stations Monday evenings at nine thirty Eastern wartime.
- 30:56This is mutual come back mad for a takeoff on the Christmas Christmas Carol.
- 31:07There were a few things in here that I kind of thought didn't work quite
- 31:11as well. I appreciated that the writers managed to come up with an interesting
- 31:18spin on the story that wasn't just copying it, but managed to at least
- 31:22give a basis for a little bit of mystery, and it had a good
- 31:26message about what matters in life, even if it may have been just a
- 31:30tent on the heavy handed side. All right, well, that will actually
- 31:36do it for today. Join us back here tomorrow. We'll be wrapping up
- 31:41our Christmas programs with the final part of the Nick sher matter, and we'll
- 31:45also be continuing on with Carter Brown. And then join us back here on
- 31:49Thursday, where we'll return to our normal order of programs with Nick Carter.
