- 0:01While each power of consciousness, physical, vital,
- 0:06mental, and others operates in its native mode, and strength in
- 0:11its own plane or sphere of action, IT projects itself into
- 0:16the world we inhabit by tying itself to the foundation of the
- 0:20basic physical principle. This involves A watering down of
- 0:25the native action of the power and question.
- 0:28While also creating a mixing effect so that each level of
- 0:32consciousness is not only attenuated but also forced to
- 0:37interact with the other principles and thereby develop a
- 0:41hybrid action, Sriorabindo writes Quote Each plane of our
- 0:48being, mental, vital, physical, has its own consciousness,
- 0:54separate though interconnected and interacting.
- 0:58But to our outer mind and sense in our waking experience, they
- 1:03are all confused together. There is the universal physical
- 1:08consciousness of nature, and there is our own, which is a
- 1:12part of it, moved by it and used by the central being for the
- 1:18support of its expression in the physical world, and for a direct
- 1:22dealing with all these external objects and movements and
- 1:27forces. This physical consciousness
- 1:30plane receives from the other planes their powers and
- 1:34influences, and makes formations of them in its own province.
- 1:39Therefore we have a physical mind as well as a vital mind and
- 1:45the mind proper. We have a vital physical part in
- 1:48us, the nervous being, as well as the vital proper, and both
- 1:54are largely conditioned. By the gross material bodily
- 1:58part, which is almost entirely subconscient to our experience.
