- 0:48[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, everybody, Brian Smith here with the Iain Team Series and your Daily Influence.
- 0:53[SPEAKER_01]: And today we're gonna talk about going from
- 0:56[SPEAKER_01]: goals to behavior in why strategies oftentimes fail and daily actions don't align.
- 1:04[SPEAKER_01]: And one of the biggest frustrations in leadership is watching organizations set good goals, create solid plans, hold meetings, communicate vision, and still fail to produce the outcomes they expected.
- 1:17[SPEAKER_01]: And often the issue is not intelligence.
- 1:20[SPEAKER_01]: It's not effort.
- 1:22[SPEAKER_01]: It's not even
- 1:25[SPEAKER_01]: organizations do not become what they intend to become, they become what they repeatedly do.
- 1:31[SPEAKER_01]: And this is where smart management becomes incredibly important because smart is not just about goals.
- 1:37[SPEAKER_01]: It's about alignment between vision, communication, accountability, the hand your and execution.
- 1:44[SPEAKER_01]: Besides this, you can say a value is communication while leaders avoid difficult conversations.
- 1:50[SPEAKER_01]: A company can say a value is teamwork,
- 1:52[SPEAKER_01]: our awarding individual politics and a leader can say people matter well consistently operating with emotional and consistency or chaos.
- 2:04[SPEAKER_01]: Eventually, behavior exposes reality.
- 2:08[SPEAKER_01]: And people inside organizations do not follow mission statements nearly as much as they follow patterns.
- 2:15[SPEAKER_01]: So today I'm going to talk to you about why sustainable success happens when behavior and strategy
- 2:23[SPEAKER_01]: Most organizations overestimate the power of stated values and understate the power of repeated banier.
- 2:31[SPEAKER_01]: People inside organizations learn very quickly.
- 2:34[SPEAKER_01]: What gets rewarded, what gets ignored, what gets tolerated, and what actually matters.
- 2:41[SPEAKER_01]: You could put accountability on the wall, but if deadlines are consistently and constantly missed without consequence, the real culture becomes in consistency.
- 2:51[SPEAKER_01]: you could talk about respect, but if leaders communicate emotionally under pressure, the culture becomes emotional instability.
- 3:00[SPEAKER_01]: Slark organizations understand something important.
- 3:03[SPEAKER_01]: They have your teaches culture faster than words ever will.
- 3:07[SPEAKER_01]: This is why leadership maturity matters so much.
- 3:10[SPEAKER_01]: People are constantly watching how leaders respond to stress, how decisions are made, how conflict is handled,
- 3:22[SPEAKER_01]: Culture is not built during speeches.
- 3:24[SPEAKER_01]: It is built during repetition.
- 3:27[SPEAKER_01]: Many businesses create goals that sound excellence strategically, but operate in ways that make achievement almost impossible.
- 3:35[SPEAKER_01]: For example, companies says it wants growth, but refuses to delegate.
- 3:39[SPEAKER_01]: A leader wants innovation, but punishes mistakes.
- 3:43[SPEAKER_01]: A business wants better communication that has no meaning structure, accountability, canes, or a follow-up discipline.
- 3:50[SPEAKER_01]: The state of objective and the operational behavior are fighting each other.
- 3:55[SPEAKER_01]: Smart management teaches that systems and behaviors must support the desired outcome because goals without a line behavior create organizational friction.
- 4:05[SPEAKER_01]: In friction creates burnout, creates confusion, missed expectations, emotional frustration, and a loss of trust.
- 4:14[SPEAKER_01]: This is where tactical consistency matters.
- 4:19[SPEAKER_01]: moving the organization towards the goal or away from it, the really is not much neutral behavior inside leadership.
- 4:27[SPEAKER_01]: One of the strongest forms of influence is consistency.
- 4:32[SPEAKER_01]: People trust leaders who behavior becomes predictable in healthy ways, not predictable as in robotic, but predictable in integrity, communication, accountability,
- 4:43[SPEAKER_01]: emotional regulation and follow-through, and look this doesn't mean that you have to be perfect all the time.
- 4:49[SPEAKER_01]: It doesn't mean that you have to be right all the time.
- 4:51[SPEAKER_01]: It means that your teams should understand who you are as a leader and what to expect from you.
- 4:57[SPEAKER_01]: Be transparent about the things where you struggle, so that when you struggle, they know that it's distructed.
- 5:03[SPEAKER_01]: It's not a surprise, it's not an exception.
- 5:06[SPEAKER_01]: This connects directly to the iM team series because influence is always happening.
- 5:11[SPEAKER_01]: Whether we realize that or not, through our actions, through our words, every behavior influences morale, trust, communication quality, accountability, and organizational stability.
- 5:24[SPEAKER_01]: Smart leadership requires self-awareness, knowing those things about us.
- 5:29[SPEAKER_01]: Because leaders often unintentionally train organizations to behave exactly like they do.
- 5:35[SPEAKER_01]: So if leaders avoid accountability,
- 5:40[SPEAKER_01]: chaoticly, or fail to follow through, the organization and its teams usually mirror that behavior over time.
- 5:48[SPEAKER_01]: But when leaders consistently model clarity, discipline, responsibility, and but the and structure, organizations begin to stabilize and mature around those behaviors.
- 6:00[SPEAKER_01]: Behavior scales faster than policy.
- 6:04[SPEAKER_01]: That's why leadership behavior matters so much.
- 6:07[SPEAKER_01]: So at the end of the day, goals are important.
- 6:10[SPEAKER_01]: Vision matters, strategy matters.
- 6:13[SPEAKER_01]: But organizations ultimately move in the direction of the repeated behavior.
- 6:18[SPEAKER_01]: Smart management teaches us that sustainable success happens when goals, systems, communication, accountability, and human behavior all become aligned.
- 6:30[SPEAKER_01]: Because strategy without behavioral discipline, eventually collapses under pressure.
- 6:35[SPEAKER_01]: The strongest organizations are not simply the ones with the best plans.
- 6:40[SPEAKER_01]: They are the ones where leadership behavior consistently supports the future they are trying to build.
- 6:46[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you for joining me today on Daily Influence.
- 6:48[SPEAKER_01]: I hope you have enjoyed today's topic and I hope you have an amazing day.
- 6:53[SPEAKER_01]: We'll see you again soon.
