- 0:02Happy Wednesday morning, everybody.
- 0:06Well, it feels like winter has moved into the Saint Louis area
- 0:13finally. It has been one of the longest
- 0:16droughts in a long time. We had a big rain come through
- 0:21last night. My grass is going.
- 0:25Thank you. The grass has been dead for
- 0:29months. It's brown.
- 0:31It's all crunchy. We needed the rain.
- 0:35There's no doubt about that. All right, everybody.
- 0:39It was a long weekend for me. Saturday.
- 0:44Saturday I left Saint Louis and went through Chicago, got on
- 0:51another plane and landed in Manchester, NH.
- 0:55I don't like flying to Boston because that tunnel gets shut
- 0:59down coming out of Boston and there's always all types of
- 1:03drama. I talked to Tim Duggar.
- 1:07Tim's a great country western artist, good friend of mine.
- 1:11He was playing his music up at New Hampshire.
- 1:15He said he was staying in Boston, but boy, that tunnel was
- 1:19jacked up again on sun Drop and all type of sugar all over the
- 1:23tunnel. So I stay in Manchester, but
- 1:28when you stay in Manchester, you take a chance at not getting the
- 1:33best flights. So I was very lucky I was able
- 1:37to get up there and get back. Walked in the house last night
- 1:41around midnight. No one O clock 1:00 in the
- 1:43morning. Had a long layover there in
- 1:45Chicago. That Chicago, man, oh man, they
- 1:49got a lot of a lot of construction on the tarmac.
- 1:53Hey, respond right here. Have you all been going through
- 1:56Chicago O'Hare Airport? When you land, it takes about 15
- 2:01minutes. It feels like you're.
- 2:02It feels like when the planes taxiing, sometimes you feel like
- 2:06you're still on the highway. It's like, are we ever going to
- 2:09get to our gate? It's because they got all types
- 2:12of construction. All right.
- 2:15Hey, did I tell you I made it to New Hampshire and back?
- 2:22OK, I was there and man, old man, New Hampshire and all the
- 2:31surrounding states, they showed up and as they say, they showed
- 2:35out second week in a row where I've witnessed, well, I'd say
- 2:42third week in a row. Right, right.
- 2:44You got, you got Saint Louis, that was incredible.
- 2:48You got Bristol, that was incredible.
- 2:49Now for the third week in a row, the fans have showed up and
- 2:54showed out. NASCAR's on a roll.
- 2:57They're on a high. Of course I was there, right?
- 3:01So I saw it all and then all the executives told me the numbers.
- 3:05You could see it on Saturday for the the truck race.
- 3:11Corey Heim, when is the 9th truck race of the year tying
- 3:17Greg Biffle for the most truck wins in one year?
- 3:21And there's about God, 6 or 7 truck races left.
- 3:25So looks to me like Corey Hynes going to break the Biffs record.
- 3:29But that's what records are meant to be.
- 3:31They're meant to to break. And then Oh my God, how about
- 3:35that modified race? That thing was off the charts.
- 3:38RIP, Come on #3 blue car. RIP come on.
- 3:43Is that how you say his name? Respond right here man.
- 3:48He took the lead on the last lap and then at the start finish
- 3:53line he thought he'd move up a little bit and he got tagged in
- 3:56the right ear corner and they wrecked.
- 3:58They towed his modified to Victory Lane.
- 4:01He won the race with the right front knocked off.
- 4:04Kind of reminded me of Terry Labonte getting wrecked by the
- 4:08legend Dale Senior. The man in black #3 Odell senior
- 4:14wrecked Terry Labonte at Bristol for the win.
- 4:18Food City 500 and Terry Labonte drove his wrecked race car to
- 4:23Victory Lane with the nose smashed in and water and steam
- 4:27pouring everywhere. But they said, and I could see
- 4:31it and you know what, Who was it?
- 4:35Chase? Briscoe said since he's been
- 4:38running NASCAR, that was the biggest Saturday crowd he's ever
- 4:42seen in his NASCAR career. Almost say that again.
- 4:50Chase Bristol on Trackside Live said the Saturday race at Loudon
- 4:56was the biggest crowd he has seen in his NASCAR career.
- 5:0221,000 people is what all the executives tell me.
- 5:08So as you know, I work for SMI, work for Loudon, NH, I work for
- 5:15Bristol, I work for Saint Louis. You see the trend here.
- 5:20When you work for these places, you know what's going on.
- 5:23So the Herminator knows what's up.
- 5:26And NASCAR right now is rocking it and I want to know why.
- 5:31Why is NASCAR doing so good right now?
- 5:33Is it the temperatures you would think with football playing that
- 5:40it would drive it it we know it's going to drive the TV
- 5:44ratings down. We we talked about that back in
- 5:46the summer. Actually, NASCAR told me that
- 5:50they'll they'll be a Saturday or Sunday coming up here soon, that
- 5:54the Xfinity Series should get better ratings and cup because
- 5:59some of these cup races might be on a competing, you know, TV
- 6:06Ave. Ave. means you know what Ave.
- 6:09you're on? What highway are you on?
- 6:11And it looks like right now that the Cup steer, the Cup Series is
- 6:15still outdrawn. The Xfinity series by far.
- 6:21I think the Xfinity Series was down around 7-8 hundred thousand
- 6:25the last week. Maybe they've been around
- 6:261,000,000. But anyway, yeah, how come here
- 6:32lately the Cup crowds are getting bigger?
- 6:36Respond right here. Is it the playoffs?
- 6:40Is it the playoffs? The races are fantastic.
- 6:43Up in New Hampshire, they had a dirt track right there. 5000
- 6:48people packed it. If we had 5000 people, I'm going
- 6:52to repeat this. If we had 5000 people at one of
- 6:55our dirt tracks here, that would be considered unbelievable.
- 7:01They have a little quarter mile dirt tracker, smaller than that,
- 7:04right, right up the road. It's New Hampshire Speedway.
- 7:07They own it. Marcus Smith owns the dirt
- 7:10track. It's on the property.
- 7:12The property is big. They're sold out, 5000 people.
- 7:19And then of course, on Sunday, you saw the crowd.
- 7:23It was unbelievable. And then once again, I was there
- 7:27trackside live off the charts, a sea of people.
- 7:32And I'm going to end you with this.
- 7:34Why is the racing so good lately?
- 7:37Why, you know, we complained about that next.
- 7:40Well, not me. Hey, Wallace, you got you got a
- 7:43you got a you got a mouse in your pocket.
- 7:46I never complained. Of course some people did.
- 7:49But this next Gen. cars showing up.
- 7:52Have they finally got something right?
- 7:55Because how about Josh Berry passing everybody?
- 7:59How about Blaney? Everybody passing everybody
- 8:02Passing was not a problem at one of the hardest race tracks to
- 8:07pass. New Hampshire, one of my best
- 8:10race tracks, somebody that's a hard track to pass.
- 8:13At New Hampshire's, the type of race track, even with the old
- 8:17car, you would spend 10 laps setting up somebody to try to
- 8:22make the pass, and they was passing each other at will.
- 8:28Hell of a crowd. Great racing.
- 8:34And how about that September date?
- 8:36Wasn't that awesome here? Next week we're going to be in
- 8:39October. Was it because the temperature's
- 8:42cool? It wasn't because the weather's
- 8:44so good? Respond right here.
- 8:46Why is NASCAR so good lately? I think it's everything.
- 8:52I think the fans that love NASCAR are showing up.
- 8:55They're at the track. I'll leave you with this,
- 8:57everybody. When I go out in the real world,
- 9:02it's awesome. There's nothing wrong.
- 9:04It's only when I get on social media that everything's bad.
- 9:08But if you get out and breathe, it's awesome.
- 9:16Have a great Monday, everybody.
