Transcript
- 0:02Speaker 1: And there he is the man, the myth, and the legend.
- 0:05Speaker 1: One of my favorite booths in all of Major League
- 0:07Speaker 1: Baseball is when Tom McCarthy and Kruky John Cruck are
- 0:11Speaker 1: in the booth together talking about the Philadelphia field and
- 0:14Speaker 1: they are the NL East champs once again. Tom, great
- 0:18Speaker 1: to be with you. Thank you for doing this. I
- 0:20Speaker 1: know you're incredibly busy. Congrats man, what a team to cover,
- 0:24Speaker 1: and it's the earliest that they have clinched an NL's
- 0:27Speaker 1: title in their history. Tell me what you're going through
- 0:29Speaker 1: right now.
- 0:30Speaker 2: Well, it's just great to see and guys, thanks for
- 0:32Speaker 2: having me on. You know, it's funny. I was sitting
- 0:35Speaker 2: there Sunday on my flight back from my football game,
- 0:38Speaker 2: and I hadn't realized that this would have been the
- 0:40Speaker 2: earliest that they would have clinched, because, you know, going
- 0:43Speaker 2: back two weeks ago, they were three games up over
- 0:45Speaker 2: the Mets, and I'm thinking, well, I'm gonna have to
- 0:48Speaker 2: take Week four off of the NFL because that's when
- 0:50Speaker 2: the clinching's going to happen. So I did that, and
- 0:53Speaker 2: then all of a sudden, out of nowhere, they come flying,
- 0:56Speaker 2: flying high, and it was just incredible to watch how
- 0:59Speaker 2: how well they were playing, how well they were pitching.
- 1:01Speaker 2: They've only lost the one game since Trey Turner and
- 1:04Speaker 2: Alec Bohm went on the injury list. It's pretty remarkable.
- 1:07Speaker 2: And to couple that with what they they've done since
- 1:09Speaker 2: Zach Wheelers out, it's a really good group. And to
- 1:13Speaker 2: watch them do that last the other thing too, I
- 1:16Speaker 2: know it was late. It was a great baseball game,
- 1:19Speaker 2: Like it was a really cool baseball game. And I
- 1:23Speaker 2: probably wouldn't have said that if we had lost. But
- 1:25Speaker 2: it was really a very good game.
- 1:28Speaker 3: I mean, the congratulations affilies. This has been a foregone
- 1:31Speaker 3: conclusion I've said for a while now, but this is
- 1:33Speaker 3: what I want to know. Are you a in the
- 1:35Speaker 3: champagne kind of guy? Are you a lurker around the
- 1:38Speaker 3: edges kind of guy? Do you jump in and get sprayed?
- 1:41Speaker 3: It was Krooky there because I can see Crooky. I
- 1:43Speaker 3: know Crooky doesn't I don't think drinks it. He doesn't
- 1:47Speaker 3: drink anymore, right, So I mean it's Crooky like getting
- 1:49Speaker 3: the sparkling grape juice sprayed on him because he.
- 1:55Speaker 4: Wasn't He was not there.
- 1:57Speaker 2: And if you guys have been at the Dodger stadium
- 2:00Speaker 2: in the Visney Clubhouse. They've done really a lot of work,
- 2:02Speaker 2: is a lot of no's a lot of work on
- 2:04Speaker 2: making it better. But it's really small. So I think
- 2:07Speaker 2: we were all kind of on the fringe, because if
- 2:09Speaker 2: we weren't, there was not a whole lot of room
- 2:12Speaker 2: in the middle of that area. I did just send
- 2:15Speaker 2: all my clothes out though, because it did get enough
- 2:18Speaker 2: of it, and the clothes I wore last night for
- 2:20Speaker 2: the celebration basically the same clothes I've worn for the
- 2:23Speaker 2: last four years of celebrations. I've taken them, I've repacked them,
- 2:28Speaker 2: I've sealed them off into my closet after I'm done.
- 2:32Speaker 2: But you know, you try to get as little as
- 2:34Speaker 2: you can. I forgot my crocs though, that was the thing.
- 2:37Speaker 2: I was in socks basically, So those socks got thrown away.
- 2:42Speaker 4: All right.
- 2:43Speaker 3: So who celebrated it the most? Sometimes there's times like eleven,
- 2:48Speaker 3: it's always well, he parties the most. I'm saying, who
- 2:53Speaker 3: was it different for? Who is it different for? Because
- 2:56Speaker 3: in eleven I remember watching Hunter Pence. I mean, the
- 2:59Speaker 3: guys had won five straight, I think, and celebrates and
- 3:02Speaker 3: there was live somewhere a little bit more subdued.
- 3:04Speaker 4: Hunter Pence was like, this is amazing. You guys should all.
- 3:08Speaker 3: Do and Victorino is like folding up his shirt and like,
- 3:11Speaker 3: I wouldn't win the World Series. I'm gonna you know,
- 3:14Speaker 3: I'm gonna go work out kind of thing. Who celebrated
- 3:16Speaker 3: it a little bit differently on this team.
- 3:19Speaker 2: You know, it's funny you say that cratzy because it
- 3:22Speaker 2: was more more of a workman like celebration. It wasn't
- 3:24Speaker 2: like a lot of the other ones that we've had.
- 3:25Speaker 2: I mean, it was great to do it. I thought
- 3:29Speaker 2: some of the like some of the newcomers, you know,
- 3:31Speaker 2: the hayesus Lozardos, who's already celebrated when the Marlins went
- 3:35Speaker 2: into the postseason, Lou Trevino and Tim Mayza, both local
- 3:38Speaker 2: guys who get a chance to celebrate as Phillies fans,
- 3:41Speaker 2: even though they they've been there before with other teams.
- 3:45Speaker 2: That's a really good question, I would probably say, besides Garrett,
- 3:52Speaker 2: who always celebrates because he's really good at it and
- 3:54Speaker 2: he's the best DJ in the history of clubhouse DJs,
- 3:59Speaker 2: you know, our owner on Middleton really celebrated. It was
- 4:01Speaker 2: kind of cool to see him in the mix with
- 4:03Speaker 2: it player wise, I think they all were. They were
- 4:05Speaker 2: all in there. I mean it was it was. There's
- 4:07Speaker 2: a great picture that one of our team photographers, my
- 4:11Speaker 2: buddy Mitch, took of Harper in the middle of its
- 4:14Speaker 2: kind of his arms raised out. I thought that was
- 4:17Speaker 2: emblematic of the whole thing.
- 4:19Speaker 3: Well, that's all you said. I was kind of workman like. Yeah,
- 4:22Speaker 3: the celebration on the field was workman like. When you
- 4:24Speaker 3: get a beer bong out there, I think it's a
- 4:27Speaker 3: little less and I know that's Garrett Cratzykratzy.
- 4:30Speaker 2: Cratzy is a new term for it. It's called the
- 4:32Speaker 2: chug buddy. Apparently called the chug buddy.
- 4:36Speaker 4: So not a beer bong. Okay, I don't know.
- 4:38Speaker 2: That's what it's said on the side of it.
- 4:41Speaker 4: Good to know, Okay, the chug buddy.
- 4:43Speaker 3: Can you confirm that it was apple juice in Bryce's
- 4:48Speaker 3: chug buddy?
- 4:50Speaker 2: You know what, I don't know if it was apple
- 4:52Speaker 2: juice it was, I'm sure it was something along those lines.
- 4:55Speaker 2: I didn't look at his I was looking at the
- 4:57Speaker 2: other guys. I was out turned. I was turned to
- 4:58Speaker 2: my head doing some other inner views.
- 5:01Speaker 1: Apple between the chug buddy opportunities. Is anyone sliding in
- 5:09Speaker 1: an extension with John Middleton and Kyle Schwarber in between,
- 5:15Speaker 1: like all of these celebrations. Can can we just extend
- 5:18Speaker 1: Schwarber for a lifetime contract for the Philadelphia Phillies, Tom,
- 5:22Speaker 1: Because I'm obsessed with him. I'm obsessed with this Philly
- 5:25Speaker 1: and I want him to be a Philly for the
- 5:27Speaker 1: remainder of his days. What are we doing with him?
- 5:30Speaker 2: You know, I think everybody feels that way, Alana. I
- 5:32Speaker 2: think I mean everybody in the organization, front office, the
- 5:35Speaker 2: ownership group, they all want him to stay. I mean,
- 5:37Speaker 2: he's been such a shot in the arm. I mean
- 5:39Speaker 2: it's so uplifting to watch him take some swings. But
- 5:42Speaker 2: it's also the off the field stuff that he and
- 5:44Speaker 2: Page and the entire Schwarber family have been part of,
- 5:47Speaker 2: you know, here in Philadelphia. I mean when he launched
- 5:50Speaker 2: that one right there, the number fifty home run, I mean,
- 5:52Speaker 2: it was just explosive in the ballpark. I think it's
- 5:55Speaker 2: going to get done. I think they've kind of put
- 5:58Speaker 2: it off until you know the season is over with.
- 6:00Speaker 2: But you know, God bless him for doing what he's done.
- 6:03Speaker 2: I mean, he was a very big prospect obviously coming
- 6:05Speaker 2: out of Indiana won a World Series with the Cubs.
- 6:08Speaker 2: The sky was the limit despite the knee injury. But
- 6:10Speaker 2: he's played himself into having a very comfortable last few
- 6:14Speaker 2: years in the big leagues, and I don't see him
- 6:16Speaker 2: slowing down. But I do think it's going to get done.
- 6:19Speaker 2: I think that he wants to stay. I think he's
- 6:21Speaker 2: great for the city. I think the city is great
- 6:23Speaker 2: for him, and I look forward to having him in
- 6:26Speaker 2: the clubhouse for many years to come.
- 6:29Speaker 3: Can you talk about John Middleton's demeanor when you had
- 6:32Speaker 3: mentioned it there that he was celebrating because AJ on
- 6:35Speaker 3: the show did the Mets Phillies series last year and
- 6:38Speaker 3: saw John Middleton leaving after they lost, and he said
- 6:42Speaker 3: that was one pissed off dude.
- 6:44Speaker 4: And I think this team is going to have changes.
- 6:48Speaker 3: And I know John just from alumni days going, you know,
- 6:51Speaker 3: being invited over to his house. And I was roasted
- 6:55Speaker 3: for agreeing that he thinks this is his legacy to
- 7:00Speaker 3: leave a World Series championship in Philly. Is there anything
- 7:05Speaker 3: that is.
- 7:05Speaker 4: Not right with that? Is he.
- 7:10Speaker 3: Doing exactly what he's done every other year or is
- 7:12Speaker 3: there more of like a ratcheted up, like, Hey, we
- 7:15Speaker 3: really need to do this now, because you always hear
- 7:17Speaker 3: about his riveting speeches and spring training and everything too.
- 7:22Speaker 2: Yeah, I think he obviously is all in. I mean,
- 7:25Speaker 2: he's a Philly fan, true and true. I mean that's
- 7:26Speaker 2: the one thing about him. You know, when you think
- 7:28Speaker 2: about ownership groups around Major League Baseball, there's a lot
- 7:31Speaker 2: of them who are big fans of the teams that
- 7:34Speaker 2: they own, but have been for their entire livelihood, but
- 7:36Speaker 2: not all of them. He is. I mean, he is
- 7:39Speaker 2: a Philly fan. It's the Phillies, it's the Eagles, whatever.
- 7:42Speaker 2: But he wants this to be a legacy that he
- 7:45Speaker 2: can leave on such a positive note. You know, he
- 7:49Speaker 2: keeps talking about wanting his trophy back. I mean he
- 7:51Speaker 2: truly does. But you can see it the way he
- 7:53Speaker 2: goes about everything, you know, watching him in the ninth
- 7:56Speaker 2: inning last night. I mean, he is a fan and
- 7:58Speaker 2: he consumes every thing about the Phillies. And I think
- 8:01Speaker 2: that's a great thing because the fact that he embraces
- 8:04Speaker 2: every bit of this ball club from you know, whether
- 8:07Speaker 2: it be the celebrations, whether it be the trips, everything
- 8:11Speaker 2: goes a long way for all of the players. And
- 8:13Speaker 2: their families feeling good about being part of this organization
- 8:17Speaker 2: and this great city. So he loves it. Gratsy. I mean,
- 8:20Speaker 2: it's it is, It is in his blood. And you know,
- 8:24Speaker 2: he's a very competitive guy. And I like that about him.
- 8:26Speaker 2: I like the passion and he treats a lot of
- 8:30Speaker 2: us really really well. And I think it's I think
- 8:33Speaker 2: it's emblematic of the city that we are part of.
- 8:36Speaker 2: I mean, he is true and true of Philadelphia.
- 8:40Speaker 3: Yeah, I agree. Question the home field advantage for the
- 8:44Speaker 3: Phillies big time. You're there every night. Kruck never travels.
- 8:48Speaker 3: So the question that AJ asked it he was there
- 8:51Speaker 3: Kruck truck. Kruck drives to Fort Myers and then back
- 8:55Speaker 3: up to Phillies. So he's only there in Philly.
- 8:58Speaker 5: He took some trips this year. Oh yeah, it took
- 9:03Speaker 5: big timer. But can you can you try to explain
- 9:07Speaker 5: to our national audience the energy or just the atmosphere
- 9:12Speaker 5: that's in Citizens Bank And it's the reason the Phillies
- 9:14Speaker 5: have the best home record in baseball the last two
- 9:19Speaker 5: years because we always try to explain. AJ tries to
- 9:22Speaker 5: explain San Diego and what kind of environment that is
- 9:25Speaker 5: you go in.
- 9:26Speaker 4: There, and it's ruckus.
- 9:27Speaker 3: Can you explain it to our national audience what Citizens
- 9:31Speaker 3: Bank is like, especially in the playoffs.
- 9:33Speaker 2: Yeah, So there's a there's a there's an emotion that
- 9:36Speaker 2: you feel when you're at the ballpark, and it's it's
- 9:38Speaker 2: the good, the bad, the nerve wracking, whatever you're feeling.
- 9:43Speaker 2: The stadium is feeling too. But they're so uplifting when
- 9:48Speaker 2: the game begins, when something positive happens, when they need
- 9:52Speaker 2: to come from behind and do something. There's a soundtrack
- 9:55Speaker 2: that's just different. And you know, we've been in different
- 9:58Speaker 2: cities during the playoffs. You guys are right. San Diego's unbelievable.
- 10:02Speaker 2: San Francisco's unbelievable. Boston is unbelievable. It's hard to in
- 10:06Speaker 2: New York last year at City Field, I mean it
- 10:08Speaker 2: was incredible to feel it. It is hard to duplicate
- 10:13Speaker 2: what is South Philadelphia and Citizens Bank Park. I mean
- 10:17Speaker 2: it is just uplifting on every level. I mean as
- 10:20Speaker 2: a broadcaster, the soundtrack is just riveting. I mean it
- 10:24Speaker 2: is just incredible. It brings you to a different level.
- 10:29Speaker 2: You know, nothing against Dodger Stadium last night, but it
- 10:34Speaker 2: was not what it would have been at Citizens Bank
- 10:36Speaker 2: park in a tie game in extra innings with that feeling,
- 10:40Speaker 2: that playoff feeling. I'm grateful that that's what I get
- 10:44Speaker 2: to go to work for every day. But you kind
- 10:46Speaker 2: of feel the whole rollercoaster of a game and not
- 10:49Speaker 2: in your stomach, Like you feel that not in your stomach.
- 10:52Speaker 2: Everybody in the crowd has the not in that stomach.
- 10:54Speaker 2: And when you see Victorino hit a grand slam against
- 10:57Speaker 2: CC Sabathia, you feel the whole Bill Bilding shake, or
- 11:00Speaker 2: Bryce going opo against the Padres, you feel the whole
- 11:05Speaker 2: building shakes. It's really something that I wish upon every
- 11:11Speaker 2: baseball fan to feel.
- 11:13Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a great, great atmosphere. You just are a
- 11:17Speaker 1: man of many talents. Mister Tom McCarthy called Bengals Ravens
- 11:20Speaker 1: on Sunday. A rumor is you have Colts and Titans
- 11:23Speaker 1: this upcoming week and a Cup. I have a two
- 11:25Speaker 1: part question. Number one coming off Colts and Broncos game,
- 11:29Speaker 1: which you did not call, but I'm pissed off about
- 11:31Speaker 1: how many times do they call a leverage penalty? Number one,
- 11:36Speaker 1: that's the question I want to know. And number two,
- 11:39Speaker 1: how do you juggle all of this?
- 11:41Speaker 4: Well?
- 11:42Speaker 2: Question number one. I watched that and I still don't
- 11:44Speaker 2: think that there was a leverage. I think he put
- 11:46Speaker 2: his hands on him, but I didn't see this three
- 11:48Speaker 2: hundred pound guy put his hands on him and lift up.
- 11:51Speaker 2: I saw him put his hands on him but then
- 11:53Speaker 2: have no impact on the play. But it is it
- 11:56Speaker 2: is the letter of the law. But I was I
- 11:59Speaker 2: was expecting to see somebody put hands on jump over.
- 12:03Speaker 2: I saw somebody low hands on. I didn't really see
- 12:07Speaker 2: the leverage play that they were talking.
- 12:09Speaker 1: The Denver Broncos should be two and oh damn it,
- 12:12Speaker 1: Denver Bronco.
- 12:14Speaker 5: Oh.
- 12:17Speaker 2: I mean, well, you know it's funny. So this morning
- 12:20Speaker 2: I've spent my time doing my charts for this weekend.
- 12:22Speaker 2: I kind of have this regimen where I get up
- 12:24Speaker 2: at a certain time and then for two and a
- 12:26Speaker 2: half three hours I do football, and then I'll do baseball,
- 12:29Speaker 2: and then the next day I'll sort of do the
- 12:30Speaker 2: same thing. But I had a little bit of a
- 12:34Speaker 2: I don't know what it was. I had a brain fart.
- 12:36Speaker 2: So I started doing the Texans chart. But we're I'm
- 12:39Speaker 2: not doing the Texans game. So when I do do
- 12:42Speaker 2: a Texans game down the road, I got their offense
- 12:45Speaker 2: all into a chart, so everything's ready to go, but
- 12:47Speaker 2: I just try to manage my time with it. I mean,
- 12:49Speaker 2: I got a really good crew, and those meetings beginning
- 12:52Speaker 2: on Friday, as you guys know, you know, because you
- 12:55Speaker 2: do other games, they're so helpful to get in there
- 12:58Speaker 2: and just sort of hunker down. I'm just grateful that
- 13:00Speaker 2: I was here to do this game because on Sunday
- 13:02Speaker 2: when I'm doing that the Ravens game, I'm thinking, oh man,
- 13:05Speaker 2: I'm going to miss the clinching and that would have
- 13:07Speaker 2: crushed me if I would have missed the clinching.
- 13:09Speaker 3: Mm hmm, Well you wouldn't have got sprayed with apple juice, Tom,
- 13:12Speaker 3: But can you show one of those charts, because I
- 13:13Speaker 3: don't think people understand what a football charge.
- 13:17Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 13:18Speaker 2: So this is the start of it right here. This
- 13:19Speaker 2: is the kind of the skeleton of it. This is
- 13:21Speaker 2: the this is the this is the Tennessee Titans right here.
- 13:27Speaker 4: Yeah. So you have basically do one of those boxes
- 13:31Speaker 4: for the whole team, right yeah.
- 13:34Speaker 2: And this is the this is the Texans for later
- 13:38Speaker 2: on this year that I started and gotten halfway done with.
- 13:41Speaker 4: They lost last night to the Bucks. By the way,
- 13:43Speaker 4: I'm just saying.
- 13:43Speaker 2: They did, and I'm not sure. I think I was
- 13:46Speaker 2: watching some highlights of it. And that's why I I'm
- 13:48Speaker 2: a lot of times in the AFC South, so sometimes
- 13:50Speaker 2: my mind's working that I'm either Texans, Jags, Titans. You know, Colts.
- 13:57Speaker 4: You got the Ravens right this week.
- 14:00Speaker 2: I had him last weekend. That was that was great.
- 14:02Speaker 2: I love going to Baltimore. That's a great It's a
- 14:04Speaker 2: great stadium to watch a game.
- 14:06Speaker 3: Okay, so better better stadium then an NFL stadium packed
- 14:10Speaker 3: or the Bank packed?
- 14:12Speaker 4: Which one's a bank packed?
- 14:13Speaker 2: The Bank packed it is.
- 14:15Speaker 3: I mean it's better than better than the Phillies. I
- 14:18Speaker 3: mean the Eagles stadium across the way. So I was
- 14:22Speaker 3: over the Eagles. Be careful, now, be careful.
- 14:25Speaker 2: I'm always I'm always gonna say Citizens Bank Park. I mean,
- 14:28Speaker 2: I love, I love Lincoln Financial Field, but I'm always
- 14:30Speaker 2: gonna say I will say this. I remember some years
- 14:33Speaker 2: ago watching the Eagles Vikings when the Phillies are going
- 14:38Speaker 2: through their decade of not being in the postseason, and
- 14:40Speaker 2: I'm in the box watching the playoff game, and the
- 14:43Speaker 2: Eagle fans are doing the skull, you know, just to
- 14:45Speaker 2: mock the Vikings and Gabe Kapler was there with me
- 14:49Speaker 2: and I looked at him, I said, this is what
- 14:51Speaker 2: it's going to be like. We never got there with Gabe,
- 14:54Speaker 2: but it was deafening the Eagles Vikings game team.
- 15:00Speaker 3: I think you're the best baseball announcer out there, and
- 15:03Speaker 3: thank a friend, but it kills me. And do you
- 15:07Speaker 3: think you'll ever see a change where you get to
- 15:10Speaker 3: do national games when the Phillies are in it? It
- 15:14Speaker 3: kills me that you're not on. And I love that
- 15:16Speaker 3: your guys Franski in La and Murph and Stocker, all
- 15:20Speaker 3: the guys from the radio crew for the Phillies, they
- 15:22Speaker 3: let you in and you guys make a little pump fired.
- 15:25Speaker 4: You barely fit in the radio booth. I love that.
- 15:29Speaker 3: But to me, baseball is a regional game and the
- 15:32Speaker 3: one time of year when guys like you should be
- 15:35Speaker 3: celebrated nationally because regionally everybody gets to enjoy you, and
- 15:40Speaker 3: then nationally for football, and then you get put to
- 15:44Speaker 3: the sideline. You think that'll ever get changed?
- 15:47Speaker 2: Boy, that's a great question. Cratsey. I knew what I
- 15:49Speaker 2: was getting into when I switched over to television. I
- 15:53Speaker 2: don't think it'll ever get changed. I do wish it would.
- 15:57Speaker 2: I would love the opportunity. I'm grateful that I get
- 15:59Speaker 2: to do two witnings of radio every playoff game, Beyond
- 16:03Speaker 2: grateful because not many TV guys get a chance to
- 16:05Speaker 2: do that. I do wish it would happen, But you know,
- 16:09Speaker 2: we're fortunate that there are a lot of really good
- 16:11Speaker 2: people doing those national games, so they kind of tell
- 16:15Speaker 2: the story and make sure that it's told properly. I
- 16:18Speaker 2: just don't think it'll ever happen now that it obviously
- 16:22Speaker 2: hasn't happened for so long, I don't think it'll ever
- 16:24Speaker 2: go back the other way, as much as I wish
- 16:25Speaker 2: it would.
- 16:27Speaker 3: Hey, listen, tomm you do a great job, but it's
- 16:30Speaker 3: not happening because unless unless you get a job like
- 16:32Speaker 3: a Jason Bennetti on a national game in a national broadcasting,
- 16:36Speaker 3: it's not gonna happen because the national rights holders, as
- 16:38Speaker 3: you know, pay so much.
- 16:40Speaker 4: Money for these games.
- 16:41Speaker 3: Their money is made in the playoffs, and they use
- 16:43Speaker 3: these guys the whole year to get to the playoffs.
- 16:45Speaker 4: B I mean, listen, yeah, I mean everyone, every every local.
- 16:49Speaker 3: Homer person says, oh, we want our local guys to
- 16:52Speaker 3: cry the playoff games.
- 16:53Speaker 4: It's not gonna happen. I'm sorry.
- 16:54Speaker 3: As cool as could be, it's not gonna happen because
- 16:58Speaker 3: then you'd have to have two broadcasts doing the game.
- 17:00Speaker 3: So you can't have two. You can't have two broadcasts
- 17:03Speaker 3: on one channel. So sorry, you can't have the Phillies
- 17:05Speaker 3: and the Mets guys both calling the game together.
- 17:07Speaker 4: That would be weird. You and Gary would be like,
- 17:09Speaker 4: who talks more?
- 17:10Speaker 3: I don't know, we talked the Saints. I don't know,
- 17:12Speaker 3: he says, some Cruck I don't know. But anyways, before
- 17:15Speaker 3: I let you go.
- 17:16Speaker 2: You you imagine that you imagine a Keith John Cruck
- 17:19Speaker 2: booth or Ron Darling John Cruck No.
- 17:24Speaker 3: To be unbelievable. But here here's here's the question I
- 17:26Speaker 3: have for you. First of all, should the tush push
- 17:30Speaker 3: be banned? Because last I mean against the Chiefs they
- 17:33Speaker 3: used it seven times?
- 17:35Speaker 2: Right, I mean, come on, like, I don't know, you know,
- 17:39Speaker 2: I did the Saints game Week one, and and you
- 17:42Speaker 2: know Kellen Moore who came over from the Eagles, they
- 17:45Speaker 2: tried it and it just didn't really work the way
- 17:47Speaker 2: it does in Philadelphia. I don't know, I don't think
- 17:50Speaker 2: it should be banned. I think it's a football play,
- 17:53Speaker 2: and you know, I'm amazed that nobody's figured out how
- 17:59Speaker 2: to stop it as of yet. But it is amazing
- 18:04Speaker 2: to me to watch like the Saints trying to cheat.
- 18:06Speaker 4: They cheat. Every time they cheat. The center, the center.
- 18:10Speaker 3: Already has the ball between his legs, and every every
- 18:13Speaker 3: time they showed it on Sunday, they were off sides.
- 18:16Speaker 4: They were a false star. I mean, the freaking.
- 18:19Speaker 2: Dudes, are you a cheating No, I am not.
- 18:25Speaker 4: I'm not.
- 18:26Speaker 3: I'm a football fan. I'm a Bears fan. Tom, have
- 18:28Speaker 3: mercy on my have mercy on my soul exactly. But
- 18:32Speaker 3: I'm just saying, as a neutral observer, every time the center,
- 18:36Speaker 3: the center already has a volve with his legs and
- 18:38Speaker 3: before he even snabs it, the two guards are already
- 18:40Speaker 3: submarining the other players and they're I mean. And then,
- 18:44Speaker 3: but by the way, I do love Jalen Hurts because
- 18:46Speaker 3: when he told Chris Jones, shut your mouth.
- 18:47Speaker 2: Boy, we won on the whatever SA I actually thought
- 18:51Speaker 2: that that was awesome. You know, it's funny. My game.
- 18:53Speaker 2: The other day, I was trying not to talk as
- 18:55Speaker 2: much when the quarterbacks were up with the line of
- 18:58Speaker 2: scrimmage because I love the interaction that you can pick
- 19:02Speaker 2: up every once in a while between the defensive lineman
- 19:05Speaker 2: and the offensive lineman or you know, the quarterback. I
- 19:08Speaker 2: think that is awesome. It doesn't happen all the time,
- 19:11Speaker 2: but I thought that was phenomenal when they were going
- 19:13Speaker 2: back at each other.
- 19:15Speaker 3: Murph last question, Yeah, Murph. I called you Murph because
- 19:18Speaker 3: Murph made me ask you little?
- 19:20Speaker 2: He little?
- 19:21Speaker 3: Did you he's yeah, he's he's he's a small one.
- 19:24Speaker 3: You're the tall one. You cut yourself. You cut yourself.
- 19:28Speaker 3: And he came on our national show.
- 19:31Speaker 2: Right here I did. I cut it on Sunday and
- 19:34Speaker 2: every day now I'm trying to get around it, and
- 19:36Speaker 2: I keep popping it open again. It's it's listen. When
- 19:42Speaker 2: you don't have this up here, everything else just you
- 19:46Speaker 2: just market. It goes, market, it goes. I don't know
- 19:49Speaker 2: what it is.
- 19:49Speaker 4: You got a face.
- 19:50Speaker 3: You got a face for radio.
- 19:53Speaker 2: Brother, You don't think, you don't think. I don't know that.
- 20:00Speaker 1: Well. I don't want you worrying about the tush push.
- 20:02Speaker 1: I want you worried about the leveraging penalty. Okay, Tom,
- 20:07Speaker 1: thank you so.
- 20:07Speaker 3: Much for everything.
- 20:08Speaker 4: We appreciate it.
- 20:09Speaker 1: Good luck to you the rest of the way, and
- 20:11Speaker 1: the fills the rest of the way. I swear and
- 20:13Speaker 1: I mean this sincerely. When I say this, you and
- 20:15Speaker 1: correct the best booth in baseball. Really, it's just an
- 20:18Speaker 1: absolute blast to listen to you guys.
- 20:20Speaker 4: Thanks for coming on.
- 20:21Speaker 1: We appreciate it. We'll catch up with you soon
- 20:24Speaker 2: All right, look forward to it to you guys.
