- 0:00Speaker 1: Fly from Midtown Manhattan.
- 0:03Speaker 2: Here comes the Mark Simone Show on seven to ten.
- 0:06Speaker 3: Wr Hey, it's a Thursday. We got a lot to
- 0:11Speaker 3: get to, big, big, big deal in the peace deal
- 0:14Speaker 3: in the Mideast. We'll get to that, the Nobel Prize,
- 0:18Speaker 3: We'll get to the Yankees, We'll get to the stock market.
- 0:22Speaker 3: We'll get to the New Jersey debate. Last night, people
- 0:24Speaker 3: think Mikey Cheryl has seen some real trouble in the
- 0:28Speaker 3: internal polls. She seemed to change her tone and change
- 0:32Speaker 3: a lot of stuff for last night's debate. And the
- 0:35Speaker 3: same thing for Cuomo. He's getting desperate. There was a
- 0:38Speaker 3: major shocking flip flop from Cuomo. We'll get to that
- 0:43Speaker 3: coming up. And well, let's start with Israel the Middle East.
- 0:48Speaker 3: The peace deal looks like it's done. It looks like
- 0:52Speaker 3: it'll get signed over the weekend. President Trump planning to
- 0:56Speaker 3: go to Egypt to sign this bill.
- 0:59Speaker 4: I may go there sometime towards the end of the week,
- 1:04Speaker 4: maybe on Sunday actually, and we'll see. But there's a
- 1:09Speaker 4: very good chance to Negotiations are going along very well.
- 1:13Speaker 3: It looks like it's done. Hamas will release the hostages.
- 1:18Speaker 3: They'll start with the living hostages, believed to be about twenty.
- 1:22Speaker 3: They'll release them immediately. They'll release the remaining hostages, the
- 1:26Speaker 3: bodies of the other hostages. Israel's going to give up
- 1:29Speaker 3: something like nineteen hundred prisoners. All right, that's not great,
- 1:32Speaker 3: but you got to do that. The deal looks pretty good.
- 1:36Speaker 3: President Trump. Tomorrow's Friday, he goes to get his annual
- 1:39Speaker 3: physical Walter Reed Medical Center, and then after that is
- 1:43Speaker 3: expected to head to the Middle East Saturday or Sunday.
- 1:48Speaker 3: It's an amazing accomplishment. It's certainly worthy of a Nobel Prize.
- 1:52Speaker 3: Even in Gaza. Even in Gaza they're cheering him on
- 1:55Speaker 3: the streets of Gaza and screaming Nobel Prize for Trump
- 2:00Speaker 3: can't get it because the Nobel Prize is a totally
- 2:02Speaker 3: corrupt award. It's the most slanted partisan, a left wing
- 2:07Speaker 3: liberal award. If you look at the list of who
- 2:10Speaker 3: was denied a Nobel Prize, it's amazing, from Gandhi to
- 2:14Speaker 3: all sorts of people. But if you go to the
- 2:16Speaker 3: Nobel Prize for literature, some of the greatest figures in
- 2:21Speaker 3: literature were denied the Nobel Prize, from Mark Twain to Tolstoy,
- 2:24Speaker 3: to It's an endless list, and it was always because
- 2:27Speaker 3: they weren't they weren't liberal enough, they didn't like their politics.
- 2:32Speaker 3: It's the most political award in the world, and the
- 2:35Speaker 3: most fascinating thing about it is to this day the
- 2:38Speaker 3: Nobel Prize has this incredible reputation, totally undeserved. It's just
- 2:44Speaker 3: a wacky partisan award, yet they still have this prestige
- 2:49Speaker 3: the Nobel Prize. You know, the worst economist in the
- 2:54Speaker 3: history of the world was Paul Krugman the New York Times,
- 2:57Speaker 3: that bug eyed weirdo who got everything wrong. Every prediction, forecast,
- 3:02Speaker 3: everything he ever wrote turned out to be totally wrong.
- 3:05Speaker 3: He has the Nobel Prize for economics. So you remember
- 3:08Speaker 3: when they were trying to go after Trump and they
- 3:10Speaker 3: put out a letter from this signed by thirteen Nobel
- 3:14Speaker 3: Prize winners. Well, right there, you knew it was a
- 3:17Speaker 3: slanted partisan the word. Yet somehow, you know, a lot
- 3:21Speaker 3: of people's minds, it has this prestigious reputation. So the
- 3:24Speaker 3: Nobel Prize comes out tomorrow. There's no chance of Trump
- 3:27Speaker 3: getting it because he's not left wing wacko. Also, I
- 3:32Speaker 3: would assume it's coming out tomorrow. This was decided long ago.
- 3:36Speaker 3: They're not picking the winner tonight. So it comes out tonight.
- 3:39Speaker 3: Tomorrow will be the announcement. It means absolutely nothing. It's
- 3:42Speaker 3: the silliest towards but the Israel peace Deal unbelievable. And
- 3:48Speaker 3: you know when you talk about the art of the deal,
- 3:50Speaker 3: and sometimes Democrats will say, well, where's the great negotiator? Well,
- 3:53Speaker 3: here it was, Here it was, and there's nobody savvier
- 3:57Speaker 3: at this stuff, and Benjamin Netanyahu gets somehow Trump got
- 4:01Speaker 3: leverage over net and Yahoo and strategically carefully over the
- 4:06Speaker 3: last few weeks and months, somehow it kind of boxed
- 4:08Speaker 3: him in a little, so he went along with this.
- 4:11Speaker 3: Sometimes it's just luck in some of these deals. But
- 4:14Speaker 3: even Democrats looking at this privately saying this was all skill,
- 4:17Speaker 3: not luck, And a lot of credit goes to Jared Kushner,
- 4:23Speaker 3: normally useless when it comes to the White House, but here,
- 4:26Speaker 3: this is what he was meant to do. This is
- 4:28Speaker 3: where he excelled. Steve Whitkoff the same, and Trump pointing
- 4:31Speaker 3: out Mike Huckabee was a big, big part of this process.
- 4:34Speaker 3: Hu could be the ambassador to Israel. You wouldn't think
- 4:39Speaker 3: he would be so Israel savvy, but he's spent a
- 4:42Speaker 3: lot of time there over the years. It's something that
- 4:45Speaker 3: means a lot to him. So he was great at this.
- 4:48Speaker 3: So that will that will happen most likely over the
- 4:51Speaker 3: weekend hostages. First release of the release of all the
- 4:53Speaker 3: living hostages expected on Monday. So you got this fat
- 4:59Speaker 3: slob governor of the Illinois Pritzker, This Ralph Cramdon looking guy,
- 5:05Speaker 3: huffing and puffing. What it's all about? Really, he wants
- 5:08Speaker 3: to be a twenty twenty eight candidate. He has no
- 5:10Speaker 3: shot at all because he has no personality, nothing, nothing
- 5:17Speaker 3: interesting about him. He's kind of a troll like to
- 5:20Speaker 3: look at. So he's got no shot at all, especially
- 5:24Speaker 3: against a Gavin Newsom or other slick, smart candidates with personality.
- 5:28Speaker 3: He's got no shot at all. But he's trying to
- 5:30Speaker 3: get there, and he thinks by being the biggest Trump
- 5:34Speaker 3: fighter in the world. He's a little nutty when he
- 5:36Speaker 3: gets into Trump fighting. Remember the convention. He got up
- 5:40Speaker 3: there and he said he opened with and he got
- 5:42Speaker 3: huge applause. He said he's going to talk about Trump.
- 5:45Speaker 3: He said, time out of here from a real billionaire,
- 5:48Speaker 3: and the audience applauded, implying Trump's not a real billionaire. Well,
- 5:53Speaker 3: at the time, Pritzker worth about one billion, Trump worth
- 5:55Speaker 3: about seven billions. I don't know what the hell he's
- 5:57Speaker 3: talking about. And then here he is yesterday. But he
- 6:01Speaker 3: just doesn't want He wants to keep that crime in Chicago.
- 6:05Speaker 3: There's a lot of killing. It's a killing field. Thirty
- 6:07Speaker 3: five forty people shot every weekend in Chicago. He wants
- 6:12Speaker 3: to keep it that way. He's demented, literally unhinged.
- 6:16Speaker 2: And this is somebody who's so insecure that he lashes out,
- 6:20Speaker 2: pretending that he can come arrest people for no reason
- 6:23Speaker 2: at all.
- 6:24Speaker 3: He can't.
- 6:25Speaker 1: He isn't going to do it.
- 6:26Speaker 3: Taco Trump always chickens out. It's back to taco. I
- 6:31Speaker 3: think I think that's kind of been proven wrong. Now
- 6:35Speaker 3: Pritzker keeps arguing, you cannot send troops national Guard or military.
- 6:41Speaker 3: You can't send troops into an American city state. The
- 6:44Speaker 3: federal government can never do that. And if they do that,
- 6:47Speaker 3: it's the worst violation of the cont it's the total
- 6:50Speaker 3: end of democracy. You cannot do that. Well, of course
- 6:54Speaker 3: you can, and it's been done before in riots in
- 6:57Speaker 3: all sorts of situations. Nineteen sixty seven, Ryot Johnson said,
- 7:01Speaker 3: troops into cities done all the time. I'll give you
- 7:04Speaker 3: the best example was John F. Kennedy. Back then, it
- 7:08Speaker 3: was horrible, horrible segregation, and black students couldn't go to
- 7:12Speaker 3: college in Mississippi and Georgia and Atlanta. You remember of
- 7:15Speaker 3: those governors, those awful governors, Lester Maddocks and George Wallace
- 7:20Speaker 3: and others who would stand in the doorway of the
- 7:23Speaker 3: school blocking it so black kids couldn't attend college. Well,
- 7:27Speaker 3: Kennedy sent troops in lots and lots and lots of
- 7:30Speaker 3: troops to integrate those colleges. It was a big deal
- 7:34Speaker 3: in nineteen sixty one, sixty two, massive amounts of troops
- 7:39Speaker 3: sent in. Now, of course it was Kennedy. He's a Democrat,
- 7:42Speaker 3: so there was nothing but applause. And he was a hero.
- 7:44Speaker 3: And these same Democrats told you this is the most heroic,
- 7:47Speaker 3: wonderful thing any president's ever done. But now, if the
- 7:50Speaker 3: president sends in troops, it's the end of our democracy.
- 7:53Speaker 3: It's a crime, it's a but again, the incredible hypocrisy
- 7:59Speaker 3: democrats are famous for. So hey, they had that mayoral
- 8:04Speaker 3: forum yesterday at the New York Athletic Club, the beautiful,
- 8:08Speaker 3: prestigious New York Athletic Club, one of the city's finest
- 8:11Speaker 3: private clubs. And it was private. But we're starting to
- 8:15Speaker 3: see some of the video and we're starting to hear
- 8:17Speaker 3: from some of the people that weren't there. And it
- 8:21Speaker 3: was all business leaders. All these business leaders, a lot
- 8:25Speaker 3: of them basically said, when it came to Mom Donnie,
- 8:28Speaker 3: it was a lot of double talk. It was dancing
- 8:31Speaker 3: around the questions, skated through generalities. One person said, went
- 8:37Speaker 3: out of his way to slam President Trump over and
- 8:39Speaker 3: over again. Other attendees said, listen, he had tremendous energy
- 8:43Speaker 3: and youth, but nothing of substance. There was no substance,
- 8:47Speaker 3: and it didn't make us feel like he could do
- 8:49Speaker 3: the job. Curtis, they liked, They said he In some
- 8:56Speaker 3: cases there were surprise he had such detailed knowledges of
- 8:59Speaker 3: economic He's been working with great, great economic team Larry
- 9:03Speaker 3: Kudlow and others advising him. They said, yeah, he was.
- 9:11Speaker 3: There was a lot of clarity on how he would
- 9:12Speaker 3: deal with crime and all that. So they like Curtis.
- 9:16Speaker 3: Now when it comes to Cuomo, now, this crowd was
- 9:19Speaker 3: a lot of Democrats, and it wasn't so much what
- 9:22Speaker 3: Cuomo was saying, but a number of people in the
- 9:25Speaker 3: crowd said they were quite surprised, quite shocked. They hadn't
- 9:30Speaker 3: seen him speak in person in a long long time.
- 9:33Speaker 3: They said, there was a little shocked. He looked very old,
- 9:35Speaker 3: he lacked energy. Here's one said, I hadn't seen him
- 9:38Speaker 3: in a while, and I was quite disturbed by it.
- 9:41Speaker 3: Another attendee found Cuomo living in the past, seemed to
- 9:45Speaker 3: be more focused on things in the past than talking
- 9:48Speaker 3: about the future. Other comments, here's this Catherine Wilde, she
- 9:52Speaker 3: warns this business partnership. She's a real wacko. She's praising
- 9:56Speaker 3: a Zora and Mamdani. I rest my case, total whacka
- 10:02Speaker 3: Mamdonnie's positions have become more substantive and realistic. No need
- 10:09Speaker 3: to read the rest of her statement. She's a nutty character. Uh,
- 10:14Speaker 3: Andrew Cuomo shocked everybody with a major flip flop. Years ago.
- 10:18Speaker 3: You remember about was it five six years ago? There
- 10:22Speaker 3: was this whole thing about closing Rikers Island. Rikers Island
- 10:26Speaker 3: is the big prison that's on an island. It's Rikers Island.
- 10:30Speaker 3: It's the perfect place for a prison. It's on an island.
- 10:33Speaker 3: You're gonna have a more secure location. And it's a
- 10:36Speaker 3: very big island. There's enormous space there. Rikers Island is
- 10:39Speaker 3: a number of buildings. You couldn't ask for a better
- 10:42Speaker 3: set up for a prison. Lots of buildings, there's room
- 10:44Speaker 3: to build more buildings, all sorts of stuff. All of
- 10:47Speaker 3: a sudden, there was a proposal to close down Rikers Island. Well,
- 10:52Speaker 3: what are you gonna do for a prison? Well, they'll
- 10:53Speaker 3: build five other prisons. They'll build one in each borough,
- 10:57Speaker 3: which didn't seem to make any sense. It would make
- 10:59Speaker 3: more sense they have one big central prison. And why
- 11:02Speaker 3: would you put a prison into each neighborhood in different boroughs?
- 11:07Speaker 3: Who in Queen's wants the prison in their neighborhood? Why
- 11:10Speaker 3: would anybody in the Bronx want a prison in their neighborhood.
- 11:12Speaker 3: Why would it? Was a ridiculous idea. Where did it
- 11:17Speaker 3: come from? By the way, Cuomo, this is what he
- 11:21Speaker 3: was talking about yesterday. He says, we got to stop
- 11:23Speaker 3: this plan to close Rikers Island. It's crazy to close
- 11:27Speaker 3: Rikers Island. It's wacko. Why would you do it? We
- 11:30Speaker 3: must stop this plan. Well, here's the problem. It was
- 11:33Speaker 3: his plan. He's the one that proposed it. He's the
- 11:37Speaker 3: one that started it. So a lot of people think
- 11:39Speaker 3: he saw some internal polling that was frightening him, that
- 11:44Speaker 3: he's got absolutely no shot with Democrats. Democrats just don't
- 11:48Speaker 3: like him. That's how he got wiped out in the primary.
- 11:51Speaker 3: So they think he's trying now to appeal to moderates, independents, Republicans.
- 11:56Speaker 3: But here's the guy who was the guy that came
- 11:59Speaker 3: up with this plan to close Rikers Island. Now he's
- 12:03Speaker 3: against it.
- 12:03Speaker 5: We should rebuild new, state of the art jails on
- 12:07Speaker 5: Rikers Island, provide free bus service, and use those existing
- 12:13Speaker 5: sites for housing and commercial development.
- 12:16Speaker 3: Yeah, everybody said that all along. You're the one that
- 12:18Speaker 3: wanted to close it.
- 12:19Speaker 5: Let's make a major start by stopping a major debacle,
- 12:24Speaker 5: which is the new jail construction to replace Rikers Island.
- 12:28Speaker 5: The writing is on the wall. It promises to be
- 12:31Speaker 5: New York City's big Ditch. It is already years late,
- 12:36Speaker 5: big is over budget and obsolete.
- 12:39Speaker 3: Geez talking about how horrible it is. It's his plan,
- 12:43Speaker 3: it was his idea, it's his plan. He's the one
- 12:45Speaker 3: that did it. It's an incredible flip flop. Now I
- 12:49Speaker 3: should point out there's another factor to this, because you say, well,
- 12:53Speaker 3: what if you got the big prison and you don't
- 12:55Speaker 3: need the other five, and it's on an island, no
- 12:57Speaker 3: place more secure, why would you ever want to close it?
- 13:01Speaker 3: Why would you ever want to move it? Well, a
- 13:03Speaker 3: lot of people think the real reason is there were
- 13:07Speaker 3: big developers that wanted that island. They wanted to build condos,
- 13:11Speaker 3: They want to put casinos, want they had all kinds
- 13:14Speaker 3: of plans and they were making massive donations to politicians
- 13:19Speaker 3: to get Rikers Island turned over to them because it's
- 13:23Speaker 3: the only major island around Manhattan that has a nice,
- 13:27Speaker 3: big bridge. You could drive right to it, you know,
- 13:30Speaker 3: Governor's Island. When they took the military base away. They
- 13:33Speaker 3: tried to sell Governor's Island to developers, condos, apartment but
- 13:37Speaker 3: nobody wanted it because you can't drive there, you'd have
- 13:40Speaker 3: to take a ferry. They tried to sell it to
- 13:42Speaker 3: a casino operators, MGM Grand and others all turned it down.
- 13:47Speaker 3: They can't have high rollers taking a ferry. They wanted
- 13:50Speaker 3: it didn't have a bridge. Rikers Onland the only island
- 13:53Speaker 3: with a bridge, and it's big, and it's kind of bridge.
- 13:55Speaker 3: So that's the real reason a lot of people think Cuomo,
- 13:58Speaker 3: de Blasio and the rest, we're all trying to come
- 14:01Speaker 3: up with this island to hand it over to developers.
- 14:03Speaker 3: But big, big, big flip flop for Cuomo. Here's Mom
- 14:08Speaker 3: Donnie on all of this.
- 14:09Speaker 1: Andrew Cuomo's proposal to take that which is broken, that
- 14:16Speaker 1: which is morally bankrupt, that which is a stain on
- 14:23Speaker 1: our city, and to keep it open. It's a betrayal
- 14:29Speaker 1: not only of the law as it stands today, but
- 14:32Speaker 1: also of what New Yorkers actually want.
- 14:35Speaker 3: Now you'll notice Mom Donnie, who was always a very
- 14:37Speaker 3: fast talker. Mom Donny always talked a mile a minute.
- 14:39Speaker 3: You notice Mom Donny is now talking slow. Now Cuomo
- 14:46Speaker 3: always does that, But Coloma's not that bright. Mom Donnie's
- 14:48Speaker 3: very sharp. Why is he's suddenly talking so slow. People
- 14:51Speaker 3: think he's getting very nervous in the last four weeks,
- 14:54Speaker 3: very worried about making a flub or saying the wrong thing.
- 14:56Speaker 3: He's being very careful when he speaks. It's New York City,
- 15:00Speaker 3: and New York City's famous for nayoral races, where the
- 15:03Speaker 3: whole thing can turn around in the last four or
- 15:05Speaker 3: five weeks. It's happened before. Here's Curtis on all this.
- 15:08Speaker 2: In twenty nineteen, he has a press conference, we must
- 15:11Speaker 2: close Reich his island. Two weeks ago he once again
- 15:14Speaker 2: reiterated he should have been closed a long time ago.
- 15:17Speaker 2: Where would he have put the inmates back then? You
- 15:20Speaker 2: can't trust Cuomo. He's the flip flop guy.
- 15:24Speaker 3: He is quite a flip flopper, and you gotta give
- 15:27Speaker 3: him credit the gall of this guy. I got pathological huts,
- 15:31Speaker 3: but just flip flop on this thing. Anyway. We'll get
- 15:34Speaker 3: to the New Jersey governor's race. They had the final
- 15:36Speaker 3: debate last night. We got a lot to get to
- 15:39Speaker 3: coming up. We'll take some calls next. Eight hundred three
- 15:42Speaker 3: two one zero seven ten is the number. Eight hundred
- 15:46Speaker 3: three two one zero seven ten
