- 0:00Speaker 1: Who do we have up next?
- 0:01Speaker 2: All right.
- 0:01Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 0:01Speaker 1: Let's go to the rivals.
- 0:02Speaker 3: If my pain's not bad enough with Florida state losing,
- 0:04Speaker 3: Florida looked amazing last night. We are presented by price
- 0:07Speaker 3: picks here on the power to.
- 0:09Speaker 1: Uh, Jaden ball.
- 0:10Speaker 3: I'm, you know, listen, I don't know, really kind of
- 0:13Speaker 3: like Tom is pivoting on his like preseason take on Trinidad.
- 0:16Speaker 3: I'm pivoting off my Lacey take for preseason, but I,
- 0:19Speaker 3: you know, a lot of that Lacey.
- 0:21Speaker 1: Has not come out and perform right.
- 0:23Speaker 3: Like, and I know the injury last night and there
- 0:25Speaker 3: there's been, you know, excusable reasons, but like Jaden ball, I,
- 0:31Speaker 3: I don't think he's the best running back in the sec.
- 0:34Speaker 1: I think he's the best running back in the country.
- 0:36Speaker 2: Yep.
- 0:36Speaker 1: That's what I'll, that's how I'll start.
- 0:37Speaker 2: Yeah. Cold.
- 0:38Speaker 1: Take it away. Um, I saw this.
- 0:40Speaker 4: Really funny tweet. So shout out to whoever was the
- 0:43Speaker 4: person to say it, uh, by the end of the night,
- 0:45Speaker 4: it was called Jerry Jaden hair stadium because of how
- 0:49Speaker 4: much he just ran all over that place. Jaden Baugh's
- 0:53Speaker 4: a freak. Jaden Baugh is untouchable. How you defend him
- 0:57Speaker 4: is beyond me. I genuinely have no idea. There are
- 1:00Speaker 4: players that you just say to yourself, they're going to
- 1:02Speaker 4: get theirs. We have to find a way to go
- 1:04Speaker 4: ahead and prepare otherwise around it. He's in that category, I.
- 1:07Speaker 1: Think, at this point.
- 1:08Speaker 4: He came into last night's game averaging 10.6 yards a play.
- 1:13Speaker 1: And I understand.
- 1:14Speaker 4: Florida Atlantic, Campbell.
- 1:16Speaker 1: Florida Atlantic, Campbell.
- 1:18Speaker 4: And I've had a lot of Florida fans get my
- 1:19Speaker 4: DMs and say, Well, how dare you just not give
- 1:21Speaker 4: us respect for this one? I had him as the
- 1:24Speaker 4: number one running back going into the year, and I
- 1:26Speaker 4: think at this point, you're just holding out to be
- 1:28Speaker 4: a contrarian if you don't have him as the number
- 1:31Speaker 4: one running back now. This was a DJ Durkin defense
- 1:34Speaker 4: that still played really well and was in pursuits and
- 1:38Speaker 4: good angles, and they didn't have an answer, which is
- 1:41Speaker 4: why he averaged almost seven yards a play. I'm like,
- 1:43Speaker 4: that's just the bottom line. And I understand that we
- 1:45Speaker 4: can talk about the explosive runs, but we can also
- 1:48Speaker 4: just talk about the hard runs, the physicality that he
- 1:50Speaker 4: had going up against linebackers head-to-head. Xavier Atkins played out
- 1:54Speaker 4: of his mind last night, and there still wasn't an
- 1:57Speaker 4: answer to stopping him. So that was really impressive. I
- 2:00Speaker 4: came away very pleased with Aaron Filo. And I know
- 2:03Speaker 4: that Aaron Filo is one of these quarterbacks that probably
- 2:06Speaker 4: will have a little bit more time until we give
- 2:08Speaker 4: him his true flowers. But the thing is, is that
- 2:12Speaker 4: for a guy making his first road start in the
- 2:14Speaker 4: SEC in an environment that many people have said for
- 2:17Speaker 4: a while. is one of the most toxic places on
- 2:20Speaker 4: a Saturday night when your team is still trying to
- 2:22Speaker 4: figure out its identity. I thought he played well within
- 2:25Speaker 4: the system. I thought he made exceptional throws. I thought
- 2:28Speaker 4: that he surveyed the field and did have second guessing.
- 2:31Speaker 4: And I'll give him a lot of credit for this.
- 2:32Speaker 4: He got hit a couple times and he stood in
- 2:34Speaker 4: the pocket and delivered strikes down the field to Vernell Brown,
- 2:38Speaker 4: to Dallas Wilson, to his tight end play. They made
- 2:42Speaker 4: it clear that we're going to try to target and
- 2:44Speaker 4: my man didn't flinch. And he played up to a
- 2:47Speaker 4: certain standard of just like, damn, I know that I'm
- 2:49Speaker 4: a good quarterback, and I know that I can play
- 2:51Speaker 4: at this level of competition. Because they did, and they
- 2:54Speaker 4: handled business.
- 2:55Speaker 1: And I know what that score.
- 2:55Speaker 4: Says, and I'm not one to ever go about this pathway.
- 2:58Speaker 4: I really don't like it because I think it's unfair
- 3:01Speaker 4: to always go this way. Guys, the score is not
- 3:04Speaker 4: indicative to how.
- 3:04Speaker 1: Much of an ass-kicker we saw from Florida. Score-lined.
- 3:08Speaker 3: I mean, literally.
- 3:10Speaker 4: And by the way, officiating was atrocious on some of those,
- 3:12Speaker 4: on some of those touchdown drives from Auburn. Again, Auburn
- 3:17Speaker 4: may has a lot of other issues that they got
- 3:18Speaker 4: to clean on up at this point, but like officiating
- 3:20Speaker 4: kind of helped them on out. Like don't give into
- 3:22Speaker 4: the onside kick.
- 3:24Speaker 3: Hey guys, just a real quick break from the video
- 3:26Speaker 3: to tell you, go check out the price picks app.
- 3:28Speaker 3: We tell you about them all the time, but all
- 3:30Speaker 3: new users over there who play $ 5, get 150 in
- 3:31Speaker 3: lineups instantly. If they win, using code HMA on their
- 3:37Speaker 3: first lineup. It's not just lineups, though. It's team picks
- 3:40Speaker 3: as well. You've got the Heisman odds right here. Those
- 3:43Speaker 3: continue to update. Trinidad, number one. You've got Darian Mensah
- 3:47Speaker 3: up there at number two. Camario Taylor, shout out Mississippi State,
- 3:50Speaker 3: number three. You've got Jeremiah Smith, CJ Carr, Jaden Baugh,
- 3:54Speaker 3: all the way up to number six. Arch Manning, Gunnar Stockton,
- 3:56Speaker 3: Julian Sayen, Malachi Toney, Will Hammond, a ton of names here.
- 4:01Speaker 3: You can go play team picks as well. You can
- 4:02Speaker 3: take first team to score. You can take a bunch
- 4:05Speaker 3: of different picks on the prize picks app. Go check
- 4:09Speaker 3: them out. We appreciate them for their support. Now back
- 4:11Speaker 3: to the clip on the power two.
- 4:13Speaker 4: That game was so far out of reach by the
- 4:15Speaker 4: middle of the, by the start of the fourth quarter,
- 4:17Speaker 4: fans were headed to the sky bar to drink their
- 4:19Speaker 4: sorrows away as is tradition. Whenever you were down in
- 4:22Speaker 4: Jordan hair stadium, like that's just the bottom line. Buster Faulkner,
- 4:26Speaker 4: I thought had a masterclass performance last night for scheming
- 4:29Speaker 4: up place. And I think that that's one of the
- 4:31Speaker 4: biggest takeaways that most people are starting to get on
- 4:33Speaker 4: board with. I said to you this past week when
- 4:36Speaker 4: we were talking about this game, I think Buster Faulkner
- 4:38Speaker 4: is the most dangerous and the best offensive coordinator in
- 4:41Speaker 4: the country. And he came to play with some of
- 4:44Speaker 4: the trickery, with some of the motions, with some of
- 4:47Speaker 4: the audibles that he called. He kept DJ Durkin guessing
- 4:50Speaker 4: and he won that chess match. And there was a
- 4:53Speaker 4: lot of good, I think, that you could take away
- 4:54Speaker 4: from the offensive line because of that play calling. They
- 4:57Speaker 4: only gave up two sacks on the night. And again,
- 4:59Speaker 4: this is a good defense. You can say, oh yeah,
- 5:02Speaker 4: well Florida is a dynamic offense. Florida is a dynamic
- 5:05Speaker 4: offense at this point. But that's a good defense for
- 5:08Speaker 4: DJ Durkin. And they only gave up two sacks. You
- 5:11Speaker 4: will take that when you hang 40 on anybody. You
- 5:15Speaker 4: gladly will say that we're going to go about that pathway.
- 5:17Speaker 4: So quarterback play was really good. Weapons are elite. Running
- 5:21Speaker 4: back is honestly, in my opinion, locked up the dope
- 5:23Speaker 4: walker into week three and should be in the conversation to.
- 5:25Speaker 1: Go to the Big Apple.
- 5:26Speaker 4: Just a lot of things I think you take away
- 5:28Speaker 4: from Florida and say, there's more that we need to
- 5:30Speaker 4: learn about this team.
- 5:32Speaker 2: There is.
- 5:33Speaker 4: But we got the momentum rolling at the right time.
- 5:36Speaker 4: And the final point I'll make before I go, let
- 5:37Speaker 4: any of you guys go ahead and speak. If you're
- 5:41Speaker 4: one of those dipshit idiots that decide to go ahead
- 5:44Speaker 4: and call him Billy Napier 2.0, because if we got
- 5:49Speaker 4: the guy from the state of Louisiana, go ahead and
- 5:52Speaker 4: turn in your publicity card of knowing college football, sit down,
- 5:56Speaker 4: take a tall glass and shut the hell up and
- 5:58Speaker 4: never speak.
- 5:59Speaker 1: About the sport again.
- 6:00Speaker 4: They are so different in contrarian pathways. It's beyond me.
- 6:05Speaker 4: How exciting is it if you are a Florida fan
- 6:08Speaker 4: to watch as your offensive coordinator is losing his mind
- 6:12Speaker 4: in the booth because of their scoring points and not
- 6:16Speaker 4: just relying on sheer dumb luck? That's because of the
- 6:20Speaker 4: leader and mentality of what you have as your head coach.
- 6:23Speaker 4: I stood on business back in January. I stand on
- 6:26Speaker 4: it now. The hire of the offseason was John Summerall,
- 6:30Speaker 4: and you witnessed it last night on why things are
- 6:32Speaker 4: different down in Gainesville.
- 6:35Speaker 1: They were impressive, man.
- 6:37Speaker 3: It was hard for me to see the path to
- 6:41Speaker 3: Auburn winning this game unless Florida allowed them to.
- 6:44Speaker 1: I thought Florida had better talent going in.
- 6:46Speaker 3: I am not anti-Auburn's coaching staff because I think it's good.
- 6:52Speaker 3: I thought Florida had the better coaching staff. Brad White,
- 6:57Speaker 3: I think, has a little bit, but I thought that
- 7:00Speaker 3: Faulkner and Summerall kind of outweighed, and I thought that
- 7:03Speaker 3: that was a better.
- 7:06Speaker 3: I, I, I just didn't buy into the, you know,
- 7:10Speaker 3: all spooky Jordan hair at night.
- 7:12Speaker 1: I did that to me.
- 7:13Speaker 3: It was like that to me, that was Auburn's plan
- 7:17Speaker 3: to win this game, you know, was like, we need it.
- 7:20Speaker 1: We need things to get weird here at Auburn.
- 7:22Speaker 3: We know that our, yeah, I don't know that any
- 7:24Speaker 3: Auburn fans would, would admit to this, but as a neutral,
- 7:28Speaker 3: as somebody who doesn't like Florida, like I think it
- 7:31Speaker 3: was pretty clear to me that Florida was more talented
- 7:33Speaker 3: and the more talented team one. And, It was close
- 7:37Speaker 3: as far as a final score goes, but they didn't
- 7:40Speaker 3: really win close. This was, this was, this was the
- 7:43Speaker 3: most dominating, what four, four point win, five point win,
- 7:46Speaker 3: whatever it ended up being like that I've ever seen.
- 7:49Speaker 3: And it got too close for comfort. Hopefully that's a
- 7:51Speaker 3: wake up call for UF. But man, that, that path
- 7:55Speaker 3: to Florida getting to five and O you know, all
- 7:59Speaker 3: you got to do now is beat Trinidad champs, but.
- 8:03Speaker 1: I mean, but they're a slight favorite in the swamp. Um,
- 8:07Speaker 1: so I don't know. I was impressed with them, Tom.
- 8:10Speaker 1: I was impressed with them too.
- 8:11Speaker 2: I mean, like to your point, they kept Auburn at
- 8:13Speaker 2: what minimum a two score arms length through.
- 8:16Speaker 4: The, so it got to 17, 17 and then it was, okay,
- 8:20Speaker 4: we're going to wake up and choose violence now.
- 8:21Speaker 2: Yeah. Like you had gaps of about 10 points and
- 8:24Speaker 2: then 34, 17 and like 41, 24 to start off
- 8:27Speaker 2: the fourth quarter. Like they basically coasted for the remaining
- 8:30Speaker 2: of the fourth quarter. Um, the, the conditions, obviously you
- 8:33Speaker 2: throw that factor in there, but I thought Byron Brown
- 8:35Speaker 2: played well. I think you'd like better out of him
- 8:38Speaker 2: in the passing game for him to be your primary
- 8:40Speaker 2: rushing attack. I don't think that's sustainable for the whole season.
- 8:44Speaker 2: I know that's what they did at South Florida last
- 8:47Speaker 2: year under Alex Golish, but I don't think that's necessarily
- 8:49Speaker 2: going to work to great success in the SEC for
- 8:53Speaker 2: the rest of the schedule. I was very impressed by Philo.
- 8:57Speaker 2: We talked about him before. He was one of those
- 8:58Speaker 2: transfer quarterbacks that kind of slipped under the radar and
- 9:01Speaker 2: everybody was like, is Florida really going to go with
- 9:04Speaker 2: silos or starting quarterback? Like, is this the best they
- 9:06Speaker 2: can get is the best thing to do. So you
- 9:09Speaker 2: understand that circumstance, but like, this is a steadier presence
- 9:12Speaker 2: than DJ legway. DJ legway was a freaking rollercoaster. You can,
- 9:16Speaker 2: can I go ahead?
- 9:18Speaker 1: I'm sorry.
- 9:18Speaker 4: I just want to throw this in there. Does he
- 9:20Speaker 4: not remind you a little bit of gunner Stockton?
- 9:22Speaker 1: A little bit.
- 9:23Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 9:24Speaker 1: A little bit. Just a little bit. Yeah.
- 9:25Speaker 2: Right. But like, you'll take that because it game manager,
- 9:31Speaker 2: people hate hearing that term. As long as he is
- 9:34Speaker 2: steady and consistent and he adds an element with his legs,
- 9:38Speaker 2: what more can you ask from a college quarterback? I
- 9:40Speaker 2: think there's got to be instances where you're looking at
- 9:43Speaker 2: what Sam Levitt did, for instance, against Ole Miss, and
- 9:45Speaker 2: it's like, man, if you just calm the hell down
- 9:47Speaker 2: and play within the offense, things could have been better.
- 9:50Speaker 2: Philo gives that element to Florida. The fact that people
- 9:54Speaker 2: are looking at them versus Ole Miss and saying, ooh,
- 9:56Speaker 2: that game in the swamp, that might go Florida's way
- 9:58Speaker 2: after what Ole Miss has proved to the country. I
- 10:01Speaker 2: thought that was really impressive. Jaden Ball reminds me of
- 10:05Speaker 2: some of those old Michigan State tailbacks under D'Antonio. Taylor. Taylor. Yeah,
- 10:10Speaker 2: not to directly compare him to Le'Veon Bell or something
- 10:13Speaker 2: like that.
- 10:13Speaker 1: Somebody has, though. And I'm like, yeah, I see it.
- 10:15Speaker 2: Those so-called running backs that you can give him the
- 10:17Speaker 2: ball 25, 30 times on the ground and maybe a
- 10:21Speaker 2: little bit through the air, and that's your game plan,
- 10:24Speaker 2: is to hammer that running back. I love what Jaden
- 10:27Speaker 2: Budd does. I love the physicality with which Florida plays.
- 10:30Speaker 2: If you know you don't have more talent than the
- 10:32Speaker 2: other team at times, and they have more talent than Auburn.
- 10:35Speaker 2: And I picked Auburn to.
- 10:36Speaker 1: Win this game.
- 10:36Speaker 2: I thought the home field advantage would be impactful for them.
- 10:40Speaker 2: But Florida is prepared to be physical, tough. They play
- 10:44Speaker 2: disciplined football as well. You'd like to not give up 39,
- 10:47Speaker 2: of course. You're going to struggle with that against Ole Miss.
- 10:49Speaker 2: That number might be similar by the end of this game.
- 10:52Speaker 2: I'd bet the over, whatever the hell it is. But, man,
- 10:54Speaker 2: the future looks bright for Florida. And at the same
- 10:57Speaker 2: time for Auburn, you know, I made the comparison in
- 10:59Speaker 2: our preview show that this feels like the beginning of
- 11:02Speaker 2: the rivalry between Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen in the
- 11:05Speaker 2: National Football League with John Summerall and Alex Golich. Golish
- 11:09Speaker 2: can look at this game and be like, yeah, we
- 11:10Speaker 2: have plenty to work on, but there's a foundation being
- 11:13Speaker 2: built at Auburn. I think Golish is the right guy
- 11:15Speaker 2: for the job. It's just going to be about time
- 11:18Speaker 2: and patience, and I think he can get there.
- 11:20Speaker 4: The one thing that I want to throw out here
- 11:21Speaker 4: that I think is very important is that you can
- 11:24Speaker 4: say how big of a beatdown it was because, guys,
- 11:27Speaker 4: there was almost 500 yards of offense by Florida. That's
- 11:32Speaker 4: not the impressive part. They did that with 16 poundies
- 11:36Speaker 4: that cost them 135 yards. I think that's the more
- 11:40Speaker 4: impressive part. Even with all the penalties and some that
- 11:42Speaker 4: were really ticky-tacky, that if you're a Zebra, dude, come on.
- 11:46Speaker 4: I know that you love throwing out that little yellow penny.
- 11:49Speaker 4: You don't need to do it every single play. But, like,
- 11:52Speaker 4: the fact that you were still at times so undisciplined
- 11:55Speaker 4: and you put up nearly 500 yards of offense.
- 11:58Speaker 1: Impressive.
- 11:58Speaker 3: Also.
- 11:59Speaker 4: Shout out to the run game in general because we
- 12:01Speaker 4: have not mentioned Duke Clark. Duke Clark had some really
- 12:03Speaker 4: good runs in this matchup as well that kind of
- 12:06Speaker 4: take the pressure off of Jaden Baugh having to be
- 12:09Speaker 4: a guy that goes for 30 carries a game. And
- 12:12Speaker 4: the other credit that I want to say is the
- 12:14Speaker 4: defensive line. You still got your question marks for sure,
- 12:17Speaker 4: but you are not going to sit here and complain
- 12:19Speaker 4: when you have nine tackles for loss and seven sacks.
- 12:22Speaker 4: That may be a major testament against what the problem
- 12:25Speaker 4: is for Auburn's offensive line right now. But boys, if
- 12:29Speaker 4: I'm sitting here and I'm like Brad White and I
- 12:31Speaker 4: want to pick and choose my battles, I'll pick and
- 12:34Speaker 4: choose in the film room.
- 12:35Speaker 1: I'm celebrating that on the field that night. Cole, I'm
- 12:42Speaker 1: going to, like, no analysis here.
- 12:46Speaker 2: Yes.
- 12:47Speaker 1: Just you pick a team. Florida or Ole Miss this weekend.
- 12:51Speaker 4: God bless.
- 12:52Speaker 1: I don't want to, I.
- 12:55Speaker 3: Don't want to favorite quarterback Tom against his favorite team
- 12:59Speaker 3: or the one of the 139 that he hates the least.
- 13:02Speaker 1: I would actually frame it that way.
- 13:04Speaker 4: To be fair, my favorite quarterback versus my favorite running back,
- 13:06Speaker 4: my RB one of my QB one battle.
- 13:08Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 13:09Speaker 1: So just who wins? We'll break it down on Wednesday,
- 13:11Speaker 1: but who wins?
- 13:13Speaker 4: Got intuition says trade at shameless, but I'm not going
- 13:15Speaker 4: to be shocked at Florida.
- 13:16Speaker 1: Does it?
- 13:16Speaker 2: I won't.
- 13:17Speaker 1: Yeah, no, I'm the same way.
- 13:19Speaker 3: Like, In matchups like this, I typically just lean the
- 13:22Speaker 3: best quarterback and maybe the best player.
- 13:24Speaker 1: In the country.
- 13:25Speaker 3: Well, sorry to Jeremiah, but yeah, I'm kind of the
- 13:28Speaker 3: same way.
