- 1:07Speaker 3: Goodness, that hour, pal.
- 1:08Speaker 2: It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter.
- 1:10Speaker 5: I was here for the first three quarters. You just,
- 1:11Speaker 5: you know, pulled a hamstring, and you had to go
- 1:14Speaker 5: in there, and you had to get the job done.
- 1:17Speaker 2: You said you're not going to be here tomorrow? Three's up.
- 1:19Speaker 6: Huh?
- 1:19Speaker 2: You said you're not going to be here tomorrow?
- 1:20Speaker 3: Yeah, but I was joking.
- 1:21Speaker 2: Oh, okay. I didn't know if, like, AFR was like, hey,
- 1:23Speaker 2: I'm going to take your producer again. We don't trust Musso.
- 1:30Speaker 2: I didn't know if that was going to be the case.
- 1:32Speaker 7: No, we don't like too many moving pieces. That's why
- 1:34Speaker 7: I go.
- 1:34Speaker 3: Ah, okay.
- 1:36Speaker 2: Sure. What'd you say? I didn't say anything. No. I
- 1:42Speaker 2: thought you said something about not being here next week.
- 1:45Speaker 2: I'm just, oh, no.
- 1:47Speaker 8: Tuesday, I'm going to miss the last hour. We got
- 1:50Speaker 8: a big-time intro pep rally done on football, baby. Not
- 1:56Speaker 8: a huge deal. Who are we playing? We hadn't looked
- 2:04Speaker 8: at the schedule yet.
- 2:05Speaker 2: Gotcha.
- 2:06Speaker 3: We haven't dove into the schedule yet. I'll wait for
- 2:07Speaker 3: game week.
- 2:08Speaker 2: He'll find out at the pep rally.
- 2:10Speaker 3: Yeah, that's where I'm going.
- 2:12Speaker 2: Take down the Trojans. He's like, it's the Trojans. He's like,
- 2:15Speaker 2: all right, now I got to look up the team mascots. Yeah.
- 2:20Speaker 9: Pep rallies are great. Like an opening season, early morning
- 2:23Speaker 9: pep rally is awesome.
- 2:25Speaker 3: Yeah, they're doing it. So they're doing it Tuesday.
- 2:29Speaker 8: So introducing like middle school teams.
- 2:32Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:32Speaker 3: And the high school teams, all that good stuff.
- 2:34Speaker 6: So.
- 2:35Speaker 3: Gonna be exciting well there's a fired up fifth grade football.
- 2:37Speaker 4: Baby jamboree tomorrow hey there you go right yeah jamboree
- 2:43Speaker 4: yeah shout out catholic high.
- 2:44Speaker 5: Yeah between catholic and university lab school i believe so
- 2:48Speaker 5: yeah what time does that start at along.
- 2:50Speaker 4: Jv kicks off at 6 p.m so varsity to follow
- 2:53Speaker 4: yeah probably so i'll be there if i had to
- 2:56Speaker 4: assume that's probably how it works.
- 2:58Speaker 5: I'll be there tomorrow august 28th Don't miss it. Let's
- 3:01Speaker 5: go number 57 and number 53.
- 3:03Speaker 4: Let's go.
- 3:05Speaker 3: Feeling good?
- 3:05Speaker 2: Feeling good. All right.
- 3:07Speaker 3: Yeah. You know, I feel like. Not too sore.
- 3:09Speaker 2: Wait, hold on.
- 3:09Speaker 10: Sorry.
- 3:09Speaker 2: One sec. You can get your tickets.
- 3:11Speaker 7: You can get your tickets at i2tickets. com.
- 3:13Speaker 2: There you go.
- 3:14Speaker 6: Sorry.
- 3:14Speaker 11: I2.
- 3:15Speaker 4: Yeah, like I, the letter I, and the number two.
- 3:19Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 3:20Speaker 7: Tickets.com.
- 3:21Speaker 6: No.
- 3:22Speaker 7: It's an I as in the letter.
- 3:25Speaker 3: Okay.
- 3:25Speaker 7: Two is in the number. Tickets.com.
- 3:28Speaker 2: You're not fined.
- 3:31Speaker 9: Those are the counterfeit ones. When we were growing up,
- 3:34Speaker 9: it was like a four-team jamboree is what we always did.
- 3:37Speaker 2: I don't see teams doing that anymore.
- 3:40Speaker 8: Yeah, I asked somebody recently. I was like, who are
- 3:42Speaker 8: you playing in the jamboree? I think I was talking
- 3:44Speaker 8: to Elijah, and he was like, they were playing Catholic.
- 3:47Speaker 2: I was like, who? Name drop.
- 3:49Speaker 3: I was like, who? I was at Dunham the other day, dummy.
- 3:52Speaker 2: And I was talking to, who was that? Oh, I
- 3:54Speaker 2: was looking up in the air.
- 3:55Speaker 1: Me and Eli.
- 3:55Speaker 2: Elijah.
- 3:57Speaker 3: That's really the only one I know.
- 3:59Speaker 2: Me and E.
- 3:59Speaker 8: And I was like, who are you playing? And he's like,
- 4:01Speaker 8: I think they're playing Catholic. And I was like, okay, well,
- 4:04Speaker 8: who else are you playing? Because I thought the Jamboree
- 4:06Speaker 8: was like multiple teams getting together and playing.
- 4:08Speaker 9: So, no, we didn't play multiple teams growing up. But, like, okay,
- 4:11Speaker 9: when I was in school, Walker was the host site.
- 4:15Speaker 9: Walker in Dutchtown would play. And, like, Denham and Santa
- 4:19Speaker 9: Mal would play or something like that. It was just
- 4:20Speaker 9: four teams. And he had one host. We would scrimmage
- 4:24Speaker 9: in Texas growing up. It was a three, usually a three,
- 4:27Speaker 9: maybe a four-team scrimmage, and you'd play like a quarter
- 4:30Speaker 9: versus each team. Now, in Pee Wee, we did it,
- 4:32Speaker 9: but in high school, you just played one half of
- 4:35Speaker 9: a game, but it was four teams that showed up. Now,
- 4:37Speaker 9: I just feel like it's two teams and it's JV Varsity.
- 4:43Speaker 3: I like the multiple-team thing.
- 4:44Speaker 2: I do, too.
- 4:44Speaker 3: We should do that.
- 4:45Speaker 2: I don't remember a jamboree. I'm trying to think back.
- 4:51Speaker 2: I mean, private school may have done it different here.
- 4:53Speaker 2: I don't know. No, I mean, that's Texas.
- 4:55Speaker 8: It is funny because I think everybody's had a scrimmage already.
- 4:59Speaker 2: Yes.
- 5:00Speaker 8: So a jamboree to me is just a scrimmage. That's
- 5:02Speaker 8: what I have in my head because we didn't– what's
- 5:05Speaker 8: a jamboree? I feel like that's a Louisiana term, right?
- 5:07Speaker 8: But I think we discovered last year it wasn't. Other
- 5:09Speaker 8: people did jamborees in other states.
- 5:11Speaker 2: Oh, that's right, yeah, because you said that than people, yeah. Yeah.
- 5:13Speaker 3: You're right. But they've already had a scrimmage, didn't they, Jamboree?
- 5:17Speaker 2: Yes. So is it a scrimmage? I mean, yeah, kind of.
- 5:21Speaker 4: It's a jamboree.
- 5:23Speaker 5: See, a scrimmage is more like controlled. Like, hey, move
- 5:27Speaker 5: the ball. We're going to start at the 30, and
- 5:29Speaker 5: we're going to get this amount of plays.
- 5:30Speaker 3: Okay.
- 5:30Speaker 2: I feel like a jamboree is like, hey, we're going
- 5:32Speaker 2: to play a quarter of football. Oh. Half.
- 5:35Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 5:36Speaker 2: Yeah, we used to do.
- 5:36Speaker 4: So you only play like a half of football when
- 5:39Speaker 4: you do that.
- 5:39Speaker 3: Okay, interesting.
- 5:41Speaker 2: I had no idea. We can kick off just one half.
- 5:44Speaker 3: Where did the name scrimmage come from? It's lost all meaning.
- 5:48Speaker 8: I've said it so much already. I've lost all meaning
- 5:50Speaker 8: of that word right now. There's a line of scrimmage,
- 5:54Speaker 8: and we're going to scrimmage each other.
- 5:55Speaker 4: The word scrimmage comes from a 15th century variation of
- 5:59Speaker 4: the word skirmish.
- 6:01Speaker 2: Obviously.
- 6:01Speaker 7: That is actually, I love that.
- 6:04Speaker 2: Very fun.
- 6:05Speaker 7: We all know what skirmish means, right?
- 6:07Speaker 2: Oh, yeah. Would it be better if we called it skirmish?
- 6:09Speaker 2: Let's have a skirmish.
- 6:10Speaker 7: We're having a skirmish over the mountain.
- 6:12Speaker 2: We're having a skirmish.
- 6:13Speaker 3: Yeah, we're going to get into Donnybrook with them.
- 6:14Speaker 2: Yeah, that kind of sounds like either.
- 6:17Speaker 5: Paperboy hat, 1920s America, or like over the pond type situation.
- 6:23Speaker 7: Skirmish, I think, like ancient war, they had a skirmish.
- 6:27Speaker 2: Just a little battle.
- 6:29Speaker 3: A little fight.
- 6:30Speaker 4: But it was adopted into early rugby and football to
- 6:32Speaker 4: describe a messy, close struggle between players fighting over the ball.
- 6:36Speaker 4: So I guess that's probably where line of skirmish.
- 6:38Speaker 3: Yeah, okay. I guess for rugby, it's probably where the scrum.
- 6:43Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 6:43Speaker 2: Rugby scrub.
- 6:45Speaker 3: Okay. How fun is this?
- 6:48Speaker 5: Dunham opens up their season, by the way, up in
- 6:50Speaker 5: the 3-1-8 going against Parkway.
- 6:53Speaker 8: That's kind of like been the thing in the past
- 6:57Speaker 8: is like the schedule during the season for them has
- 6:59Speaker 8: been just their division and their classification. But this year,
- 7:04Speaker 8: they got some teams.
- 7:06Speaker 5: They go at Parkway, which is a 5A school in Bossier,
- 7:09Speaker 5: where Brandon Harris, Terrace Marshall, those guys went.
- 7:14Speaker 2: And then they go at Catholic the next week. I know.
- 7:16Speaker 8: Credit to Neil on over there. They decided to juice
- 7:23Speaker 8: up the schedule this year, which.
- 7:25Speaker 3: I'm excited about.
- 7:25Speaker 8: Because in the past, we've gone to games and they've
- 7:28Speaker 8: just completely outclassed a lot of people during the regular season.
- 7:31Speaker 9: That's not a tough district, I guess I should say.
- 7:36Speaker 9: So I do like that they're doing that. That's going
- 7:38Speaker 9: to get them ready. Because to your point, they blow
- 7:40Speaker 9: people out in the regular season. They get to the
- 7:42Speaker 9: playoffs as a whole different piece. And they've they've pretty
- 7:44Speaker 9: much outmatched everybody. There's like usually one, maybe two games
- 7:48Speaker 9: where it's a, it's a good matchup. They kind of
- 7:50Speaker 9: get some prepped and ready for the, for the playoff
- 7:52Speaker 9: run and everything. But this year, it's gonna be fun.
- 7:56Speaker 5: And I like that better too. I mean, because sometimes
- 7:58Speaker 5: these districts, they're, they're not great. Like you're talking about
- 8:01Speaker 5: the same thing, you know, where, where my boys play,
- 8:04Speaker 5: but that, and that's why you open up, you go
- 8:05Speaker 5: like rumble.
- 8:07Speaker 3: Yep.
- 8:07Speaker 2: Madison prep. Yeah.
- 8:09Speaker 5: You got Turling's Catholic on the road, on the schedule.
- 8:12Speaker 5: They typically have Catholic, but that's, not going to be
- 8:14Speaker 5: the jamboree.
- 8:15Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 8:16Speaker 8: It's like, sometimes I look up and like, well, I
- 8:18Speaker 8: just got six touchdown passes and there's like four minutes
- 8:20Speaker 8: left in the second quarter.
- 8:22Speaker 3: He's good, but you know, there was anybody's that good.
- 8:27Speaker 5: There was a game last year and I'm not going
- 8:29Speaker 5: to say the opponent's disrespectful, but It took me longer
- 8:33Speaker 5: to get to the game from my house than Jackson played.
- 8:35Speaker 2: In the game.
- 8:36Speaker 6: Oh.
- 8:37Speaker 2: You know what I mean?
- 8:37Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 8:38Speaker 2: And then, like, I get there, and, like, four minutes,
- 8:40Speaker 2: five minutes in, the starters are pulled. I'm like, this
- 8:42Speaker 2: isn't what this is supposed to be. Oh, yeah.
- 8:44Speaker 7: That's kind of sad.
- 8:45Speaker 2: We got to figure out something new.
- 8:46Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 8:47Speaker 2: I bet I know the team. Well, you could guess
- 8:49Speaker 2: multiple teams, and that, you know, the way it played
- 8:52Speaker 2: out last year.
- 8:53Speaker 3: That's just true.
- 8:53Speaker 2: But, anywho.
- 8:55Speaker 3: I mean, that's high school football, baby.
- 9:00Speaker 2: You know? I mean, did you have that in your district, Matthew?
- 9:03Speaker 6: No.
- 9:03Speaker 7: Clear eyes, full hearts, can't lose.
- 9:06Speaker 1: No.
- 9:06Speaker 3: I'm like, look.
- 9:07Speaker 5: You don't get honorable mention all district in your district
- 9:11Speaker 5: for no reason.
- 9:12Speaker 3: No reason.
- 9:13Speaker 2: Ooh, stacked. That was Longview, Lufkin, and John Tyler? John
- 9:21Speaker 2: Tyler and Robert E.
- 9:22Speaker 6: Lee.
- 9:23Speaker 3: I knew you, dum-dum. Just letting the people know. Four-team district,
- 9:28Speaker 3: double round robin.
- 9:29Speaker 2: Which is now called Legacy.
- 9:32Speaker 3: Legacy.
- 9:32Speaker 8: And John Tyler is Tyler High.
- 9:34Speaker 2: I didn't know.
- 9:38Speaker 3: Short for high school.
- 9:41Speaker 2: It's Tyler High. What happened to John?
- 9:43Speaker 3: Well, they dropped it because, you know.
- 9:49Speaker 2: You know.
- 9:50Speaker 3: You know.
- 9:51Speaker 2: I apparently have no idea who John Tyler is.
- 9:52Speaker 3: You know why.
- 9:56Speaker 7: The big cancellation.
- 9:57Speaker 3: Big cancellation.
- 9:58Speaker 2: Of 2020. One of those dudes with a big home.
- 10:05Speaker 5: I didn't know who John Tyler was either until you
- 10:06Speaker 5: just said the other guy. Okay, now I'm putting the
- 10:08Speaker 5: pieces together.
- 10:10Speaker 2: Tenth president? What'd he do?
- 10:15Speaker 3: You know.
- 10:15Speaker 5: Didn't know he was a president either. Man, I need
- 10:17Speaker 5: to go back to middle school. Are you smarter than
- 10:21Speaker 5: a fifth grader?
- 10:22Speaker 7: I think I would not be. At this point in
- 10:25Speaker 7: my life, I'm unpracticed.
- 10:26Speaker 2: Yeah. No shot.
- 10:28Speaker 7: They're in school every day.
- 10:30Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't have these reps anymore.
- 10:32Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 10:33Speaker 2: The math questions, forgot them, and it changes all the time.
- 10:36Speaker 2: No shot. On math, I'm good. I can do numbers.
- 10:39Speaker 7: Oh, don't give me a times table.
- 10:40Speaker 4: If we all did a times table in this room,
- 10:44Speaker 4: and we timed it or whatever, I would get the least.
- 10:47Speaker 2: Let's go by touchdowns.
- 10:48Speaker 7: Out of all of us.
- 10:49Speaker 2: Let's go by seven.
- 10:50Speaker 3: Like single digit multiplication?
- 10:54Speaker 4: Okay.
- 10:54Speaker 3: How many are you getting? I feel like you had
- 10:57Speaker 3: a minute.
- 10:58Speaker 2: In a minute?
- 10:59Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 11:00Speaker 2: And I'm starting from one.
- 11:01Speaker 8: We're talking like six times seven, eight times four. Eight
- 11:05Speaker 8: times four is 32.
- 11:06Speaker 7: That one's easy.
- 11:07Speaker 3: Well, you nailed it.
- 11:08Speaker 2: Yeah. There you go.
- 11:09Speaker 3: What's eight times eight?
- 11:11Speaker 4: 64.
- 11:11Speaker 3: There you go. Great job.
- 11:13Speaker 7: I was not confident in that one.
- 11:15Speaker 2: Okay.
- 11:16Speaker 3: Six times seven.
- 11:19Speaker 7: See, that one's going to take me a minute.
- 11:22Speaker 2: 42.
- 11:23Speaker 3: Let's go, Suzette. Let's spit them out.
- 11:24Speaker 2: Let's go.
- 11:26Speaker 7: Truly, Suzette would probably beat me. I'm not good at math.
- 11:29Speaker 3: Oh, she's going to crush it.
- 11:30Speaker 7: But, like, reading, writing, history.
- 11:33Speaker 2: Wow, Suzette's some graham crackers. But I got some beef
- 11:36Speaker 2: with her, too.
- 11:37Speaker 3: Don't eat our snacks.
- 11:39Speaker 2: I'm over there fighting for my life.
- 11:40Speaker 3: The couch has me dead, though.
- 11:42Speaker 5: I look like I jumped in the swimming pool that
- 11:44Speaker 5: Matt hadn't built yet. Suzette's on the water slide over
- 11:48Speaker 5: there having a heck of a time and then gives
- 11:50Speaker 5: me crap about the graham crackers.
- 11:53Speaker 7: She's like, where are you going with my couch?
- 11:56Speaker 3: I'm fighting for my life here. Stop throwing away our stuff.
- 11:59Speaker 2: Did you see that treadmill?
- 12:02Speaker 8: Don't eat our snacks and don't throw away our stuff.
- 12:05Speaker 7: The treadmill, I get it now.
- 12:07Speaker 9: You nailed it with the tank tracks.
- 12:10Speaker 2: Yeah, that's what it was.
- 12:14Speaker 3: Big tank.
- 12:15Speaker 2: Supervisor Flynn thought we did a great job.
- 12:17Speaker 3: Yeah, in a couple years, I'm going to get back
- 12:18Speaker 3: on that thing.
- 12:20Speaker 2: You better get on it right now.
- 12:21Speaker 5: Somebody better be fit in that Flynn household because of
- 12:25Speaker 5: that treadmill.
- 12:26Speaker 3: Kidding me?
- 12:26Speaker 8: You've seen me do push-ups. I haven't done them since
- 12:29Speaker 8: I hurt my back. Back's feeling a little bit better today.
- 12:34Speaker 8: I got on that heating pad yesterday.
- 12:36Speaker 6: Woo!
- 12:37Speaker 3: Muscles just melted.
- 12:39Speaker 2: Oh, man, you're old. All right, we'll take our first
- 12:42Speaker 2: break of the show.
- 12:43Speaker 5: We've got more OTV coming to you live from the

- 14:03Speaker 4: I don't know why I didn't come.
- 14:08Speaker 10: I left you by the house of fun.
- 14:14Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 14:15Speaker 5: Why I didn't come.
- 14:18Speaker 4: I don't know why I didn't come. I knew you
- 14:25Speaker 4: were going to like this one.
- 14:27Speaker 2: Well done. With the rain outside. I wish that I.
- 14:32Speaker 2: Got a shawl over you. You're sitting in the windowsill.
- 14:37Speaker 5: Cup of coffee in both hands, not just one.
- 14:40Speaker 2: Staring off into the distance. Doesn't mean you're sad. Just
- 14:44Speaker 2: means you're cozy.
- 14:48Speaker 3: Thinking about trials, tribulations, loved ones.
- 14:53Speaker 2: Great memories. Sad memories.
- 14:57Speaker 3: Future experiences. Football season's starting.
- 15:03Speaker 2: Yep.
- 15:08Speaker 3: The way college football used to be.
- 15:14Speaker 2: Well done.
- 15:15Speaker 5: That's going to be our theme today. Looking out the window.
- 15:20Speaker 5: Coffee cup in both hands.
- 15:22Speaker 2: Something we can do.
- 15:23Speaker 8: Do y'all think if I decided to, as an adult,
- 15:28Speaker 8: a human adult, That's real loose. Young age of 41.
- 15:33Speaker 8: Do you think if I started taking piano lessons now?
- 15:38Speaker 2: You'd be a pianist?
- 15:39Speaker 3: Do you think in 10 years? Yes.
- 15:43Speaker 2: You could tickle the eye. In 10 years?
- 15:44Speaker 4: Yes.
- 15:45Speaker 8: I've always heard, though, if you don't take a musical instrument,
- 15:49Speaker 8: you can't ever truly be fluent in it unless you
- 15:52Speaker 8: took it as a child.
- 15:54Speaker 2: Hey, I got one you can practice on. Unused. Just
- 15:57Speaker 2: the most random ever. We have a piano in our home.
- 16:00Speaker 2: I showed Matt the picture the other day. It makes
- 16:02Speaker 2: sense where it is. I mean, he probably said, sure,
- 16:07Speaker 2: so he wouldn't make fun of you.
- 16:08Speaker 4: There's probably a lot of people that have pianos in
- 16:10Speaker 4: their home.
- 16:11Speaker 2: That don't play them. For sure.
- 16:13Speaker 5: But I think the people that do have it in
- 16:15Speaker 5: their home at least had the intention to either learn
- 16:18Speaker 5: how to play or they had a child that was
- 16:20Speaker 5: in piano lessons. Now, Razor might one day be Mozart.
- 16:23Speaker 2: I still don't know. We don't know that.
- 16:25Speaker 5: But to say, what can we put here in this
- 16:27Speaker 5: space and go, I got it, a piano.
- 16:30Speaker 2: Again, the piano wasn't the idea.
- 16:32Speaker 3: I'm on Taylor's side on this. It's a classy thing
- 16:35Speaker 3: to have.
- 16:35Speaker 9: Victoria's friend was selling it for like 200 bucks. And
- 16:40Speaker 9: I'm like, it looks nice there. It's a classy piece
- 16:43Speaker 9: of furniture. And it's cheaper than any crappy looking couch
- 16:46Speaker 9: we're going to get. So, I mean, why not? And
- 16:50Speaker 9: a bonus, if we wanted to learn how to play it,
- 16:52Speaker 9: It's already here.
- 16:52Speaker 2: A little bonus.
- 16:53Speaker 3: I am on your side on this. I think it's classy.
- 16:55Speaker 3: I think it's classy as hell.
- 16:58Speaker 7: Taylor and classy, I've always said.
- 16:59Speaker 2: No doubt.
- 17:00Speaker 9: That's the thing. You have to take your shoes off
- 17:02Speaker 9: when you come inside. It's one of those places.
- 17:04Speaker 3: That might be one of the top five classiest things
- 17:06Speaker 3: in Livingston.
- 17:09Speaker 2: Taylor's Piano.
- 17:11Speaker 7: So I asked your friend.
- 17:12Speaker 2: I thought you were going to say like into my zone.
- 17:15Speaker 2: In Livingston.
- 17:16Speaker 3: In the whole thing.
- 17:18Speaker 2: Probably not many.
- 17:19Speaker 4: Someone who starts piano at 41 can be genuinely good
- 17:22Speaker 4: by 51.
- 17:23Speaker 2: Okay.
- 17:24Speaker 7: I mean, 10 years really is.
- 17:25Speaker 2: I've always heard that, though.
- 17:26Speaker 8: It's like if you didn't take it as a kid,
- 17:28Speaker 8: it's a struggle to learn it because like there's a.
- 17:31Speaker 8: Especially left-hand, right-hand things, like playing the drums. You've got
- 17:34Speaker 8: to split your brain into sections.
- 17:36Speaker 2: To be able to focus on both of them.
- 17:37Speaker 4: Right, but you're diagnosed, so I feel like it would help.
- 17:40Speaker 2: Squirrels.
- 17:41Speaker 3: That is actually a decent point.
- 17:42Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 17:43Speaker 3: I have a medical condition.
- 17:44Speaker 2: Right.
- 17:45Speaker 7: So you're already kind of like.
- 17:48Speaker 3: Special.
- 17:49Speaker 2: Right. Thank you.
- 17:51Speaker 3: You're welcome.
- 17:51Speaker 4: Wow.
- 17:52Speaker 3: Yeah, it was really nice.
- 17:53Speaker 2: Yeah, no problem.
- 17:55Speaker 3: I'm special.
- 17:57Speaker 4: You could be an advanced hobbyist with a pretty substantial repertoire.
- 18:01Speaker 3: Okay.
- 18:01Speaker 7: If you take it seriously.
- 18:03Speaker 2: Well, I've always wanted to play.
- 18:05Speaker 7: And 51 is still young.
- 18:06Speaker 3: And let me tell you, I took it for two
- 18:07Speaker 3: years growing up when I was a child.
- 18:11Speaker 8: Wasn't too shabby. Could play the Jurassic Park theme song.
- 18:14Speaker 8: Did it at my recital. You were a pianist?
- 18:19Speaker 3: Yep. Say it faster.
- 18:24Speaker 2: Pianist.
- 18:25Speaker 3: That led me. That was my gateway instrument into my
- 18:28Speaker 3: three years of cello.
- 18:30Speaker 2: Wait.
- 18:31Speaker 3: First year. Sight reading, East Texas champion.
- 18:38Speaker 2: Not that he remembers or anything.
- 18:40Speaker 3: I played the cello three years, sixth, seventh, eighth grade.
- 18:42Speaker 3: I was in orchestra.
- 18:43Speaker 2: Whoa, you were older.
- 18:44Speaker 3: I mean, I was in middle.
- 18:46Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, eighth grade.
- 18:48Speaker 7: I played oboe in middle school.
- 18:49Speaker 3: Eighth grade, we were starting.
- 18:50Speaker 8: So there's a lot of the football players, because you
- 18:52Speaker 8: had to take an elective in middle school. And yeah,
- 18:56Speaker 8: we decided to take orchestra in sixth grade.
- 18:58Speaker 2: I was chess club.
- 19:00Speaker 3: We didn't have that as an option. That was like
- 19:03Speaker 3: one of the electives?
- 19:05Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 19:05Speaker 3: Chess club?
- 19:06Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 19:07Speaker 3: Have some class.
- 19:10Speaker 2: Take orchestra. Not a big deal.
- 19:14Speaker 3: Seventh grade, first year.
- 19:15Speaker 2: Pretty classy, right?
- 19:17Speaker 3: Reading music.
- 19:20Speaker 7: I feel like you have to be pretty smart to
- 19:21Speaker 7: play chess.
- 19:22Speaker 3: It feels like an after school elective.
- 19:25Speaker 2: It does.
- 19:26Speaker 3: Not a during school elective.
- 19:28Speaker 5: You think we were doing anything after school that wasn't
- 19:31Speaker 5: sports related?
- 19:32Speaker 3: That's true.
- 19:33Speaker 9: Or club.
- 19:34Speaker 2: It's club sport.
- 19:35Speaker 5: Yeah, trimming your beards. We couldn't have a beard. Beard
- 19:40Speaker 5: trimming club. You couldn't have a mustache. You couldn't have
- 19:43Speaker 5: a soul patch. You couldn't have sideburns. And if you
- 19:46Speaker 5: had them.
- 19:47Speaker 3: Oh, you could.
- 19:48Speaker 2: No, if you had them.
- 19:49Speaker 4: Oh.
- 19:50Speaker 5: Yeah, because your age, I got it high. But if
- 19:53Speaker 5: you had anything, if you had anything on your face,
- 19:56Speaker 5: we had our Coach Bass was the disciplinarian. He had
- 20:01Speaker 5: this single blade little Bic razor.
- 20:03Speaker 3: Hey, baby, baby, you can't have that here.
- 20:06Speaker 2: Not here. Not at this school. Gotta go shave it, baby.
- 20:09Speaker 2: It's like, coach, you got some shaving cream? Oh, baby,
- 20:11Speaker 2: you made that decision. Eat some hot water. You got
- 20:18Speaker 2: razor burn all over. Thanks, coach.
- 20:22Speaker 5: You got the hand soap in the bathroom trying to
- 20:24Speaker 5: rub it on your mustache, your little peach fuzz.
- 20:27Speaker 2: See if you can get it to foam up. Love it.
- 20:28Speaker 8: When was the last time you shaved with shaving cream
- 20:34Speaker 8: and a razor?
- 20:36Speaker 2: July 28, 2007.
- 20:37Speaker 6: Okay.
- 20:41Speaker 2: Tuesday's the day I got married.
- 20:42Speaker 8: Yeah, Taylor, we've been through, yeah, you're a Stray Blade guy.
- 20:45Speaker 8: I don't think I've done Stray Blades since.
- 20:49Speaker 3: High school, probably. And I'm not proud to say that.
- 20:53Speaker 2: Yeah, it's not Tommy Tough Guy.
- 20:55Speaker 8: Yeah, I just haven't done it because, you know, they
- 20:58Speaker 8: make batteries in them.
- 21:01Speaker 2: We're getting Sarah Marshall's like, I don't even know. I
- 21:04Speaker 2: don't wear a watch anymore. Moved to the islands.
- 21:06Speaker 3: Stopped wearing a watch. That's cool, man.
- 21:09Speaker 2: That's cool.
- 21:10Speaker 3: That's cool, man. How are you doing?
- 21:11Speaker 2: I just did it on my phone.
- 21:13Speaker 3: Yeah, I got a little clock here on my phone. Wanda,
- 21:15Speaker 3: you played Oboe?
- 21:16Speaker 7: I played the Oboe.
- 21:17Speaker 3: Okay, is that the long one?
- 21:19Speaker 4: It's like the clarinet, but it's a wood reed instead of.
- 21:25Speaker 2: Okay. It's a section, the woodwind section. The woodwind section.
- 21:28Speaker 4: I think the clarinet is a woodwind too, but the
- 21:30Speaker 4: reed is different.
- 21:31Speaker 3: So we got.
- 21:32Speaker 7: It's similar to the clarinet.
- 21:33Speaker 3: Is it bigger?
- 21:35Speaker 7: It's about the same size. Maybe a little smaller.
- 21:37Speaker 3: What else we got?
- 21:37Speaker 2: Percussion.
- 21:38Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 21:39Speaker 3: We learned all these. What else we got?
- 21:41Speaker 4: I got superior in my test whenever they tested me
- 21:44Speaker 4: in playing the oboe.
- 21:45Speaker 2: Oh, hello.
- 21:46Speaker 7: So it's kind of like first year, I guess.
- 21:47Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 21:48Speaker 3: So it's not a huge deal.
- 21:49Speaker 7: It's not a big deal.
- 21:50Speaker 8: So we just got a couple of incredible musicians, middle
- 21:53Speaker 8: school musicians here.
- 21:54Speaker 7: Yeah, pretty much.
- 21:59Speaker 3: Reading music's not like Riding a bike. Yeah, like I said,
- 22:04Speaker 3: I did.
- 22:04Speaker 4: I forgot how to.
- 22:05Speaker 8: It took five years of reading music as a child.
- 22:08Speaker 8: And like I said, we would go to these competitions
- 22:10Speaker 8: where you'd sight read. They'd give you a piece of
- 22:12Speaker 8: music that you've never seen before. And you'd get like
- 22:16Speaker 8: five minutes. Then as an orchestra, you had to play it.
- 22:20Speaker 8: And so I could read music. But I tried to
- 22:23Speaker 8: read music recently.
- 22:24Speaker 3: And it was like, nope. That doesn't mean anything to me.
- 22:27Speaker 2: Okay, here we go.
- 22:28Speaker 7: Oboe is double read, and then clarinet is single read.
- 22:31Speaker 7: Shout out to Matt in the chat.
- 22:33Speaker 3: Let's go.
- 22:35Speaker 2: Last point we make here.
- 22:36Speaker 7: It's like a tiny little wood.
- 22:37Speaker 5: Because we're going to take a break, then we're going
- 22:38Speaker 5: to come back talking about LSU football.
- 22:41Speaker 3: Okay.
- 22:42Speaker 2: Positions we're excited about.
- 22:43Speaker 3: Okay.
- 22:43Speaker 2: Deep positions with some depth to them. Quarterback. Yep.
- 22:48Speaker 5: This is maybe the best comment that we could have
- 22:53Speaker 5: in the chat. It's about your career as an Allstate
- 23:00Speaker 5: cello player. So it says Allstate cello. Honorable mention football.
- 23:07Speaker 3: In the district.
- 23:07Speaker 2: That tracks.
- 23:09Speaker 3: It tracks a lot.
- 23:13Speaker 2: On that note, we'll take a break.
- 23:15Speaker 5: We'll LSU football talk when we come back here live
- 23:18Speaker 5: from the Raising Cane Studio.
- 23:20Speaker 11: Off the bench.
- 23:23Speaker 2: All right, go to TrashRangers.com. TrashRangers.com.
- 23:26Speaker 5: Residential commercial trash pickup service.
- 23:30Speaker 2: Now, today, like for us, Trash Day.
- 23:33Speaker 5: There's some people I saw trying to run the can
- 23:35Speaker 5: out last minute because they heard the trash truck coming. Well,
- 23:40Speaker 5: if you work with Trash Rangers, you don't have to
- 23:41Speaker 5: worry about that.
- 23:42Speaker 4: Why?
- 23:42Speaker 5: Because they're going to send you a weekly text reminder
- 23:45Speaker 5: to put your trash cans out.
- 23:46Speaker 2: An incredible service that they have over at Trash Rangers.
- 23:49Speaker 5: You know, we've got the roll-off dumpsters, three different sizes
- 23:52Speaker 5: to choose from.
- 23:52Speaker 2: Give them a call today. See which size is perfect
- 23:55Speaker 2: for your project. Go to trashrangers.com.
- 23:57Speaker 3: That's right, trashrangers, trashrangers.com. I did forget to take.
- 24:01Speaker 8: The trash out today. And I was like, oh, man.
- 24:04Speaker 8: Then I was like, wait a second. I got a
- 24:05Speaker 8: roll-off here. So I can't forget. I just brought it
- 24:08Speaker 8: over there, threw it in the roll-off, and I think
- 24:10Speaker 8: it's getting picked up tomorrow.
- 24:11Speaker 3: I called them a couple days ago. I said, hey,
- 24:13Speaker 3: can you come pick it up? It's all full.
- 24:14Speaker 8: They're like, do you need to? Remove it or you
- 24:16Speaker 8: want to replace it. They got everything over there. They
- 24:18Speaker 8: are the best.
- 24:19Speaker 3: Go to TrashRangers.com.
- 24:25Speaker 1: 2007 champs. Purple and gold to the core. This is
- 24:28Speaker 1: Off the Bench with Hester and Flynn. Baton Rouge's go-to
- 24:32Speaker 1: for all things Louisiana sports.
- 24:54Speaker 11: Gravity is working against me. And gravity wants to bring
- 25:12Speaker 11: me down.
- 25:13Speaker 2: All right, welcome back in.
- 25:16Speaker 5: I should have, you know, lights maybe a little bit
- 25:20Speaker 5: more soother.
- 25:20Speaker 3: Welcome back to Good Morning Baton Rouge.
- 25:25Speaker 2: Welcome back in. OTB.
- 25:27Speaker 7: In the capital city.
- 25:28Speaker 2: In the capital city.
- 25:32Speaker 7: I can't do capital city.
- 25:33Speaker 2: I hate that you did that. You were being serious.
- 25:37Speaker 3: Was I being serious?
- 25:37Speaker 1: No, you were.
- 25:39Speaker 7: It's not as bad as Marler's.
- 25:41Speaker 2: Hey, mamas.
- 25:43Speaker 3: Wait, what? Hey, mamas.
- 25:43Speaker 7: Wait, you haven't heard him do that?
- 25:45Speaker 2: I don't want to.
- 25:45Speaker 7: He does it all the time. We were at Marucci yesterday,
- 25:48Speaker 7: and Matt goes, why does Marler keep saying mamas?
- 25:50Speaker 2: I was like, I don't know.
- 25:53Speaker 7: We tried to get him to stop, and he won't.
- 25:56Speaker 2: And he does it.
- 25:57Speaker 7: And he goes like this.
- 25:58Speaker 5: Oh.
- 25:59Speaker 7: When he does it.
- 26:00Speaker 2: I must have missed that too then.
- 26:01Speaker 7: Hey mamas. I don't know where he got it from.
- 26:09Speaker 2: You should give it back.
- 26:11Speaker 3: You should give it back.
- 26:13Speaker 7: Nobody likes it but him.
- 26:15Speaker 5: Nobody cheers it. Nobody champions it but himself. Nobody likes this.
- 26:21Speaker 5: All right, I'm going to move on from that because
- 26:23Speaker 5: I just keep seeing Marler do like this in my head,
- 26:25Speaker 5: and I.
- 26:26Speaker 2: Don't like it. Let's talk a little LSU football.
- 26:29Speaker 5: And one of the things that I did notice when
- 26:31Speaker 5: I went out to practice the other day was there
- 26:33Speaker 5: is a deep running back rotation. Dylan Jones, Harlan Berry,
- 26:37Speaker 5: Caden Durham, they all were getting carries with first team
- 26:40Speaker 5: and second team. There was no real, hey, this guy's
- 26:43Speaker 5: gotten seven carries. This guy's only gotten two. This guy's
- 26:45Speaker 5: gotten one. They were really sharing the wealth. It is
- 26:49Speaker 5: a very deep running back room. Now, you knew it
- 26:51Speaker 5: was going to be deep. Whenever Harlem Berry and Caden
- 26:53Speaker 5: Durham decided to come back, a lot of people thought
- 26:56Speaker 5: Caden Durham was going to be gone. He wasn't going
- 26:58Speaker 5: to be here. He does come back. But then you
- 27:01Speaker 5: added Dylan Jones from Wisconsin, or Wisconsin, depending on if
- 27:05Speaker 5: you're talking to T-Pain or not. And I don't think
- 27:09Speaker 5: people thought that he was going to be a part
- 27:11Speaker 5: of the conversation as far as like a lead back.
- 27:14Speaker 5: I probably thought he was going to be a depth piece,
- 27:16Speaker 5: probably thought he was going to be a special teamer. And,
- 27:19Speaker 5: you know, he'd get the third most carries on the team,
- 27:23Speaker 5: but he might end up getting the first.
- 27:26Speaker 2: He might be the leader.
- 27:27Speaker 5: He might be the guy with the most rushes on
- 27:29Speaker 5: this team. Now, it's all got to play out. Running
- 27:31Speaker 5: back is always a who's got the hot hand type situation.
- 27:35Speaker 2: It can change from game to game.
- 27:37Speaker 5: But I will say it is going to be a
- 27:39Speaker 5: true running back by rotation, by committee, and offensively. I'm
- 27:44Speaker 5: okay with that. I know some people like to have
- 27:46Speaker 5: a lead back. I'll always go back to this. In 03, 07,
- 27:50Speaker 5: and 11, you played for three national championships. You won
- 27:54Speaker 5: two of them, and it was a running back by committee. Now,
- 27:57Speaker 5: when I say running back by committee, it doesn't mean,
- 28:00Speaker 5: you know, this guy's getting 33, this guy's getting 33,
- 28:03Speaker 5: this guy's getting 33.
- 28:03Speaker 2: It doesn't have to be that.
- 28:05Speaker 5: It can be this guy's getting 65, right?
- 28:08Speaker 2: Okay.
- 28:08Speaker 5: This guy is getting 20 and You know, you just
- 28:11Speaker 5: kind of like you go down the chart of how
- 28:14Speaker 5: much production and how many plays the player is getting.
- 28:18Speaker 5: But it is going to be that. Now, you were
- 28:21Speaker 5: here in 03. I was not here in 03. But
- 28:24Speaker 5: you had Sharon and JV and Joe and Allie and Barrington.
- 28:29Speaker 2: You had five backs.
- 28:31Speaker 5: Maybe I'm even missing somebody that got carries in a
- 28:33Speaker 5: national championship season.
- 28:34Speaker 2: So it can be done. It doesn't have to look like.
- 28:38Speaker 5: 2019 where Clyde Avery G layer played more plays than
- 28:42Speaker 5: any division one running back. As far as percentage wise
- 28:46Speaker 5: for his team that year.
- 28:47Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 28:48Speaker 8: It's so fascinating. This whole Dylan Jones thing is fascinating
- 28:51Speaker 8: to me. Like when you started, or we sort of
- 28:53Speaker 8: report in spring that he was getting a bulk of
- 28:56Speaker 8: the carries and running with the ones. I'm like, are you,
- 28:59Speaker 8: are you serious? We've had literally two seasons in a
- 29:02Speaker 8: row where a true freshman running back has come in
- 29:05Speaker 8: and given the team a jolt of energy. Like an
- 29:08Speaker 8: offensive jolt of energy. Caden Durham, Harlan Berry. Like these
- 29:12Speaker 8: are two guys that were dudes as true freshmen. So
- 29:15Speaker 8: like you would think like as they get older, they
- 29:17Speaker 8: would step into.
- 29:18Speaker 3: A bigger role.
- 29:19Speaker 8: So I really thought when Lane came over that those two,
- 29:23Speaker 8: those are going to be like a two-headed monster, like
- 29:25Speaker 8: in the backfield. You know, of course, I don't really
- 29:27Speaker 8: know if Lane's ever had running back by committee. But
- 29:31Speaker 8: I think when the dust settles on this season, you're
- 29:34Speaker 8: going to look back.
- 29:34Speaker 2: And you're going to be like, that was the Harleberry game. Yeah.
- 29:38Speaker 3: That was the Dylan Jones game.
- 29:39Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 29:39Speaker 8: That was the– To go for it. Because that's how
- 29:42Speaker 8: we did it in 07. Like that game, that was
- 29:44Speaker 8: Charles Scott's game. This game was– Tulane. This game was
- 29:47Speaker 8: Hester's game. Like that was– everybody had their moment.
- 29:50Speaker 2: He had a Virginia Tech game.
- 29:51Speaker 8: You might have a guy that steps in and has
- 29:53Speaker 8: more of those moments, or you look back and they're like,
- 29:56Speaker 8: that was our lead back of the year, our lead rusher.
- 29:59Speaker 3: But those other two guys had their moments.
- 30:03Speaker 8: So it is, and you never really know how styles
- 30:06Speaker 8: of play, like the style of play that Lane and
- 30:09Speaker 8: his offense use is so much different than the traditional lineup,
- 30:16Speaker 8: let's run the football type of offense, even though he
- 30:20Speaker 8: loves to run the football. Look what Lacey has done
- 30:24Speaker 8: at Ole Miss. He's one of the top players going
- 30:26Speaker 8: into the season this year, and for good reason. so
- 30:30Speaker 8: Lane wants to run the football, but the speed of
- 30:33Speaker 8: which you go and the, you know, a lot of
- 30:36Speaker 8: times it is a, there's the running plays. When you
- 30:39Speaker 8: get up to the line of scrimmage, you have, you
- 30:41Speaker 8: have a, you have a flip on or alert or
- 30:43Speaker 8: a check with me type run where the quarterback gets
- 30:45Speaker 8: up to the line of scrimmage. And it might be
- 30:48Speaker 8: outside zone to the right, or I could flip it
- 30:50Speaker 8: and go inside zone to the left, depending on if
- 30:52Speaker 8: it's a, if it's an under front, we're going to
- 30:54Speaker 8: keep it on. If it's an over front, we're going
- 30:55Speaker 8: to alert, alert, alert, or flip, flip, flip, or whatever
- 30:58Speaker 8: you want to call it. I don't think Lane's offense
- 31:01Speaker 8: is really that it's get up and run the ball,
- 31:03Speaker 8: no matter what the look is, because we are trying
- 31:05Speaker 8: to go so fast. So I think it's a different
- 31:08Speaker 8: style of, of play for these running backs. And maybe
- 31:10Speaker 8: Dylan Jones was just the one to adapt the quickest
- 31:13Speaker 8: to that style of play to get up to the
- 31:15Speaker 8: line of scrimmage.
- 31:15Speaker 2: And go fast.
- 31:16Speaker 8: And, and I would also assume that in past protection,
- 31:20Speaker 8: running backs have, when you're going fast like that, they
- 31:23Speaker 8: have to, you know, a lot of times in past protection,
- 31:27Speaker 8: if it's a five, you know, If it's a six-man
- 31:30Speaker 8: protection with a running back being the sixth man, you're
- 31:33Speaker 8: going to go, all right, let's just say it's like
- 31:36Speaker 8: two-jet protection or whatever. Everybody's going to slide to the left.
- 31:40Speaker 8: And then the running back's got everybody to the right.
- 31:42Speaker 8: So he's going to have, like, if the mic's in
- 31:44Speaker 8: the middle, he's going to have Sam to any number four,
- 31:47Speaker 8: any defensive back to that side, unless the quarterback alerts
- 31:50Speaker 8: me to go backside to a corner or a weak
- 31:52Speaker 8: side safety.
- 31:53Speaker 2: I would assume in this type of offense, there's not time.
- 31:55Speaker 3: To do that.
- 31:56Speaker 8: So it's basically, hey, this is your responsibility, but you
- 31:59Speaker 8: also have to have everybody else. You got to be
- 32:02Speaker 8: able to full field scan as a running back.
- 32:05Speaker 5: I would almost say that they're going so fast that
- 32:07Speaker 5: it's like, hey, you know, four down in the mic
- 32:10Speaker 5: is just like known.
- 32:11Speaker 3: Four down the mic or some protection four down a will.
- 32:14Speaker 5: Yeah. A mic has to be declared. A mic being declared.
- 32:18Speaker 5: The mic can be the will. The mic can be
- 32:20Speaker 5: the Sam. Hell, the mic can be the star, your favorite.
- 32:23Speaker 6: Oof.
- 32:23Speaker 3: You want it because that's not real but it could
- 32:27Speaker 3: yeah just.
- 32:27Speaker 2: And then you guys you just go and a lot
- 32:30Speaker 2: of times you get.
- 32:30Speaker 5: The ball out so fast too yep that it's not
- 32:34Speaker 5: going to get home either way but also they're not
- 32:37Speaker 5: going to bring something where they're disguising something because they
- 32:39Speaker 5: don't have time to to get it communicated.
- 32:41Speaker 8: Yeah but you could have like a you could have
- 32:44Speaker 8: a defensive coordinator could have a blitz of the week
- 32:47Speaker 8: oh for sure that says all right we're going to
- 32:48Speaker 8: go into this this game yeah we're going to go
- 32:51Speaker 8: in with six defensive calls. We're going to have our base.
- 32:56Speaker 8: And then we're going to have two blitzes that we're
- 32:58Speaker 8: going to go to that. We're going to rep, rep,
- 33:00Speaker 8: rep all week in practice. And one of them is
- 33:03Speaker 8: going to be, well, what's, you know, could be considered
- 33:06Speaker 8: an exotic blitz in that fast of an office, which
- 33:09Speaker 8: could be a will free safety. Like we're just going
- 33:11Speaker 8: to call will free safety. We're going to go to
- 33:12Speaker 8: cloud week or whatever it is on top of it.
- 33:15Speaker 8: And we're going to, we're going to roll that no
- 33:17Speaker 8: matter what the call is, no matter what the strength is.
- 33:19Speaker 2: Right.
- 33:19Speaker 3: We're always going to bring it from the weak side.
- 33:21Speaker 5: Our Blake Baker liked to bring Corner Cat, too, last year.
- 33:23Speaker 3: Yeah, and that could be it.
- 33:26Speaker 8: I think that from a pass protection standpoint, the running back,
- 33:29Speaker 8: there's probably a lot of responsibility when you go that
- 33:31Speaker 8: fast to just have kind of your base linebacker that
- 33:36Speaker 8: you're assigned to plus everybody else. So maybe Dylan Jones
- 33:42Speaker 8: was just a little bit more adaptable to that quickly.
- 33:45Speaker 8: But I do think in the season you're going to
- 33:47Speaker 8: have Each, all three of those guys have their moments.
- 33:49Speaker 5: And I'll say, like, I asked the players on the defense.
- 33:54Speaker 5: This was in the middle of the summer. So it
- 33:56Speaker 5: was after spring but before training camp. And I had, like,
- 33:59Speaker 5: three or four of them tell me that Dillon was
- 34:03Speaker 5: very tough to go against in spring practice. Like, a
- 34:07Speaker 5: little bit of, you know, thunder and lightning within itself. So, like,
- 34:12Speaker 5: that's the guys that the defense kind of noticed.
- 34:15Speaker 3: You winding them up? Thunder and lightning? Thunder and lightning.
- 34:18Speaker 5: So I think it's probably maybe he did pick it
- 34:22Speaker 5: up a little bit quicker, but also he's going out
- 34:24Speaker 5: there and performing as well, and you will have multiple
- 34:27Speaker 5: running backs in this LSU offense.
- 34:29Speaker 2: Real quick, and I know they played more games, LSU.
- 34:32Speaker 5: Ran the football 332 times last year.
- 34:35Speaker 2: 332.
- 34:36Speaker 5: Anybody want to guess how many times that.
- 34:39Speaker 2: The Ole Miss Rebels ran the football last year? LSU, 332.
- 34:41Speaker 2: I'm going to say Ole Miss ran 532.
- 34:45Speaker 3: Okay.
- 34:46Speaker 2: 550. Okay.
- 34:50Speaker 5: 533. Matt would win.
- 34:51Speaker 2: Price is right rules.
- 34:53Speaker 6: Dang.
- 34:53Speaker 2: It was 539.
- 34:55Speaker 5: So, again, I know that Ole Miss played more games,
- 34:58Speaker 5: but 539 to 332. We say that to say just
- 35:02Speaker 5: because they go fast, don't allow it to cloud your
- 35:06Speaker 5: judgment thinking air raid. I don't know why that happens.
- 35:09Speaker 5: I'm not saying it does to our listeners. We got
- 35:11Speaker 5: some smart football fans. But a lot of times, people
- 35:14Speaker 5: think fast, fast, fast, throw, throw, throw, an air raid type.
- 35:17Speaker 5: That is not what this offense is. This is an
- 35:19Speaker 5: offense that ran the football 539 times a year ago,
- 35:25Speaker 5: before Lane Kiffin was even at LSU. When we would
- 35:29Speaker 5: talk about Ole Miss' offense, we'd talk about how much
- 35:31Speaker 5: they ran the football.
- 35:33Speaker 2: And it's a little bit of everything. It's counter. It's power.
- 35:37Speaker 2: It's duo. It's inside zone. It's outside zone. It is.
- 35:42Speaker 5: whole lead, it is a little bit of everything. They
- 35:45Speaker 5: ran 73 powers last year. Matt, tell our listeners, just
- 35:49Speaker 5: as a reminder, how many powers did LSU run last year?
- 35:51Speaker 3: Hold on, let me count them up. Let me count
- 35:53Speaker 3: them up.
- 35:54Speaker 2: A zero. Not a one. Not a single power.
- 35:57Speaker 5: So it kind of gives you an idea of the
- 35:59Speaker 5: diversity of the run game of this coaching staff as well.
- 36:02Speaker 5: It's not just inside zone. Inside zone was only 28%
- 36:06Speaker 5: of the plays for them. Then it was power 14%,
- 36:09Speaker 5: counter 12%. He had outside zone at 10%. He had
- 36:14Speaker 5: a man scheme at 26%. So it just kind of
- 36:17Speaker 5: shows you that's what this offense is. So when we're
- 36:20Speaker 5: talking about multiple running backs, you have three guys. You
- 36:23Speaker 5: might be asking, is there enough to go around? When
- 36:26Speaker 5: you run the football 539 times, and I know some
- 36:29Speaker 5: of that was Trinidad Chambliss, but still, when you run
- 36:32Speaker 5: the football that many times with that much diversity, everybody's
- 36:36Speaker 5: going to have a run that they run better than
- 36:38Speaker 5: the other guy. Now, you don't want to fall into tendencies.
- 36:41Speaker 2: We get that.
- 36:42Speaker 5: But there's going to be some guys that run gap
- 36:43Speaker 5: scheme better. Some guys run zone scheme better. And it's
- 36:46Speaker 5: on the offensive coordinator and the offensive staff to switch
- 36:49Speaker 5: it up enough, which they did a year ago, to
- 36:51Speaker 5: be able to keep defense.
- 36:52Speaker 8: So you're going to, like, teams are going to have
- 36:54Speaker 8: better run plays than other run plays? So, like, we
- 36:57Speaker 8: must have been really good at inside zone.
- 37:00Speaker 6: LSU?
- 37:00Speaker 5: You would think so. You would think so. But, no,
- 37:04Speaker 5: that's not the case. But they kept running it.
- 37:08Speaker 2: What's that? Stubborn to a fault. Is that loyal to
- 37:12Speaker 2: a fault? Yeah, they were 40% of the time inside
- 37:16Speaker 2: zone last year, LSU. That's tight. Again, no powers. As in,
- 37:22Speaker 2: no powers.
- 37:22Speaker 3: I think the Dunham fifth grade team might.
- 37:27Speaker 2: Have no powers.
- 37:28Speaker 5: I know for a fact that the U-High, let's see,
- 37:32Speaker 5: eighth grade team, because Huddy was playing O-line, he plays
- 37:34Speaker 5: defense on the seventh grade team. I saw my son
- 37:38Speaker 5: play right guard last night and pull on a power.
- 37:42Speaker 5: the eighth grade U high football team. So Huck's fifth
- 37:44Speaker 5: grade team, Hudson's eighth grade team.
- 37:48Speaker 2: They did it. They could probably do it. But they
- 37:50Speaker 2: told me that they didn't have a guard that they
- 37:51Speaker 2: trusted to pull.
- 37:55Speaker 3: That's cool.
- 37:56Speaker 6: Okay.
- 37:57Speaker 3: Well let them at Louisiana state university. Let a untrusted
- 38:00Speaker 3: one pull them.
- 38:02Speaker 2: Oh no. Just hit color. It's something we doing. All right.
- 38:06Speaker 5: I'm going to get mad if we keep talking about this.
- 38:08Speaker 5: So we will step away, continue talking to LSU football team.
- 38:11Speaker 5: Here when we come back live from the Raising Cane Studio.

- 39:55Speaker 6: All right, welcome back here.
- 40:05Speaker 2: Off the bench.
- 40:06Speaker 3: Closing out hour number one. Before we do, I want
- 40:08Speaker 3: to tell you.
- 40:09Speaker 8: About our friends over at Catalyst. When you think about Louisiana,
- 40:11Speaker 8: you think about energy. And one company helping shape the
- 40:14Speaker 8: future is Catalyst. Cateris is developing the Commonwealth LNG export
- 40:17Speaker 8: facility in Cameron Parish, connecting American natural gas with customers
- 40:21Speaker 8: around the world. Now under construction after reaching its final
- 40:24Speaker 8: investment decision in 2026, the project represents a major investment
- 40:28Speaker 8: in Louisiana's future, but it's about more than exporting energy.
- 40:31Speaker 8: It's about creating jobs, supporting local businesses, strengthening communities, and
- 40:34Speaker 8: reinforcing Louisiana's position as one of the world's leading energy hubs.
- 40:38Speaker 8: Through its natural gas production and the Commonwealth LNG project,
- 40:41Speaker 8: Cateris is helping build an integrated energy platform that connects
- 40:45Speaker 8: domestic resources with growing global demand. As construction continues on
- 40:49Speaker 8: Louisiana's Gulf Coast, Catalyst is proud to invest in American energy,
- 40:53Speaker 8: American workers, and a stronger economic future. Catalyst, connecting Louisiana
- 40:56Speaker 8: energy to the world.
- 40:58Speaker 2: Hey, guess what, Matt?
- 41:04Speaker 3: What's up?
- 41:06Speaker 5: You know how I went over to the facility and
- 41:09Speaker 5: we named a new number.
- 41:10Speaker 2: 18, Braylon Moore? Yeah. Remember that? I do remember that.
- 41:14Speaker 3: That was two days ago. Guess what happened yesterday?
- 41:19Speaker 8: They handed out a new 15. No, the walk-on program
- 41:23Speaker 8: is over.
- 41:24Speaker 2: They handed out two number sevens.
- 41:27Speaker 7: Got them.
- 41:28Speaker 2: Leonard Fournette was in the house.
- 41:31Speaker 3: That was a good one.
- 41:33Speaker 2: Trey Des Green on offense, and our guy Witt Weeks
- 41:36Speaker 2: on defense.
- 41:40Speaker 7: Friend of the show.
- 41:41Speaker 2: Well done, Witt. Say Witt. Hey, Trey Daz.
- 41:44Speaker 3: Hey, I'm number seven, brother.
- 41:46Speaker 2: So a lot of people in the chat were like,
- 41:49Speaker 2: just wait.
- 41:50Speaker 7: Hang on.
- 41:51Speaker 2: I promise. Yeah, that makes all the sense in the world.
- 41:55Speaker 5: Trey Daz is an obvious choice, and I like the
- 41:58Speaker 5: wit kind of.
- 41:59Speaker 2: Got that number. Witt's a baller.
- 42:03Speaker 5: He's super athletic, rangy linebacker, very deserving, very cool to
- 42:08Speaker 5: see both those guys. Really enjoyed catching up with both
- 42:11Speaker 5: those guys at media day. Great reps for the LSU Tigers,
- 42:15Speaker 5: and they're both going to be wearing number seven.
- 42:17Speaker 3: Don't look too excited, Trey Does.
- 42:20Speaker 2: He's a mean muggin', man. Football season, bruh.
- 42:22Speaker 3: He's like, man.
- 42:23Speaker 2: Got to get game face on. It's week zero.
- 42:26Speaker 6: Huh.
- 42:28Speaker 2: Trey Does is great. He locked in.
- 42:30Speaker 3: He is locked in.
- 42:31Speaker 2: Look at him.
- 42:33Speaker 3: He might go for 1,500 this year.
- 42:35Speaker 2: You think so?
- 42:36Speaker 3: Maybe.
- 42:38Speaker 2: Bold prediction?
- 42:39Speaker 6: Maybe.
- 42:41Speaker 3: We're going to find out.
- 42:42Speaker 4: Do the math, Taylor, like you did with Chase Young?
- 42:45Speaker 9: That's only like, yeah, like 120 a game. It's not 58,000
- 42:50Speaker 9: a game.
- 42:50Speaker 3: We'll probably play 15 this year.
- 42:51Speaker 2: Yeah, are you saying they're not going to make the
- 42:53Speaker 2: national championship? So 100 a game.
- 42:55Speaker 3: Yeah, 100 a game.
- 42:56Speaker 2: All right, he got it.
- 43:02Speaker 5: I am excited to see, well, obviously Trey Dez and
- 43:05Speaker 5: him being a unicorn in this.
- 43:06Speaker 2: Offense, but also like a fully healthy Whit Weeks.
- 43:10Speaker 5: And then he's got TJ Daughtery next to him, who's
- 43:12Speaker 5: a very veteran linebacker. And I'm not saying he had
- 43:15Speaker 5: to do everything over his career, but he knows that
- 43:18Speaker 5: he's got somebody that's played more games than he has
- 43:21Speaker 5: next to him.
- 43:22Speaker 3: Is it just the picture?
- 43:22Speaker 8: His hair is looking a little bit more gingerish than
- 43:25Speaker 8: I thought.
- 43:26Speaker 2: I think it's just the lighting.
- 43:27Speaker 7: It is a little gingery in that pic.
- 43:28Speaker 3: Yeah, it is.
- 43:30Speaker 2: He's got a mullet. He does. It's very nice.
- 43:33Speaker 3: But I just don't know. I'm trying to.
- 43:35Speaker 7: Or when he shaved his head.
- 43:37Speaker 2: That, yeah.
- 43:38Speaker 5: That is a hair that has only caught training camp shampoo,
- 43:45Speaker 5: if you.
- 43:45Speaker 2: Know what I mean.
- 43:46Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 43:48Speaker 5: The orange stuff. The orange stuff. We don't know where
- 43:51Speaker 5: it came from. It's in a bag in the shower,
- 43:54Speaker 5: and it's orange. And it says, like, four in one.
- 43:57Speaker 7: It's like, what is it, VO7 or something like that?
- 43:59Speaker 2: I don't know, but it smells like dial. It's not great.
- 44:03Speaker 2: That's what that is.
- 44:04Speaker 8: The company didn't even think about putting a fragrance in it.
- 44:07Speaker 2: The V05. It wasn't even close to the budget. They're like,
- 44:11Speaker 2: we don't know how to do that. You're not getting
- 44:12Speaker 2: any volume from that. There's no volume included in that.
- 44:16Speaker 2: The shampoo factory in Kuwait. We don't have the ability
- 44:20Speaker 2: for sons. Not Kuwait.
- 44:27Speaker 4: The one I looked at that I'm saying VO5 does
- 44:29Speaker 4: have a very orange shampoo, so it might be that one.
- 44:32Speaker 2: I'm telling you.
- 44:33Speaker 4: It's like the cheap-ass Dollar Tree shampoo.
- 44:34Speaker 5: It literally smells like dial, and it's like, hey, use
- 44:37Speaker 5: this for your entire body from head to toe.
- 44:41Speaker 2: Doesn't work, but that's what they give you.
- 44:44Speaker 3: Body wash, shampoo, toothpaste, all in one.
- 44:46Speaker 5: Toothpaste?
- 44:47Speaker 2: Toothpaste, body wash.
- 44:50Speaker 5: That's why you better wear shower sandals every time into
- 44:53Speaker 5: that thing.
- 44:53Speaker 2: Oh, lordy.
- 44:56Speaker 3: God, his hair looks on fire.
- 44:59Speaker 2: Literally.
- 45:00Speaker 3: Bright red.
- 45:00Speaker 2: It does.
- 45:01Speaker 7: They say he plays with his hair on fire.
- 45:03Speaker 2: They do.
- 45:04Speaker 3: That's true. And his mustache. I mean, I get the lighting.
- 45:07Speaker 2: His mustache looks great, too.
