Transcript
- 0:02Speaker 1: Hello and welcome to Outspoken. It's your dose of the
- 0:05Speaker 1: hottest influencer and pop culture news twice a week. I'm
- 0:09Speaker 1: Amy Torber and coming up on today's show, Nikki Westcott's
- 0:13Speaker 1: extravagant wedding is overshadowed by her husband's latest legal trouble,
- 0:18Speaker 1: Sophie Keisha hits back at critics after hard-launching her new relationship,
- 0:23Speaker 1: and our highs and lows of the week. But first,
- 0:26Speaker 1: Tammy Hembrough's ex-fiancé Matt Poole has surprised the internet by
- 0:30Speaker 1: announcing he's set to be a dad again. Yeah, so
- 0:33Speaker 1: the former Ironman champion who shares two-year-old Posey with Tammy
- 0:37Speaker 1: revealed he's expecting a baby with his new partner, Annalise Otway.
- 0:41Speaker 1: My first thought when I saw this photo was how
- 0:44Speaker 1: long has this couple actually been together? I know things
- 0:46Speaker 1: move quickly in the influencer world, but Annalise wasn't even
- 0:49Speaker 1: on my radar. Well, according to The Courier, Matt and
- 0:53Speaker 1: Annalise's relationship was first made public back in May, so
- 0:56Speaker 1: around six months ago. And this was when the couple
- 0:59Speaker 1: was spotted departing the Gold Coast airport with Posey to
- 1:02Speaker 1: celebrate Matt's birthday. We do love a timeline. So that
- 1:06Speaker 1: was about 18 months after separating from Tammy Hembrough. Now,
- 1:09Speaker 1: the couple announced the news in a joint Instagram post
- 1:12Speaker 1: with Annalise writing... Been cooking a little more than just
- 1:15Speaker 1: Matt's dinner lately. Baby Paul arriving 2025 with a blue
- 1:20Speaker 1: love heart emoji.
- 1:21Speaker 2: That's an interesting caption.
- 1:22Speaker 1: I mean, to me, it comes across a little bit sexist.
- 1:25Speaker 1: I've just been strapped in the kitchen making Matt's dinner
- 1:27Speaker 1: all night. Yeah, it's an odd one. I mean, I
- 1:29Speaker 1: don't follow them. So maybe it's on theme with the
- 1:32Speaker 1: content that they share. Maybe she likes cooking. I don't know.
- 1:34Speaker 2: I mean, she has 18,000 followers. So she's not... a
- 1:37Speaker 2: huge influencer. I'd call her a micro-influencer. To be fair,
- 1:40Speaker 2: it's really.
- 1:40Speaker 1: Hard coming up with captions for such important life milestones,
- 1:43Speaker 1: particularly on Instagram when you're like, does this sound lame?
- 1:46Speaker 1: I really liked when Abigail Taylor Swift's friend, she announced
- 1:49Speaker 1: her pregnancy with, I'm having his baby.
- 1:52Speaker 2: Oh, I love that.
- 1:53Speaker 1: That's so good. What was interesting is that Tammy and
- 1:56Speaker 1: Matt's daughter Posey appeared in the main announcement photo. So
- 2:00Speaker 1: she was holding up the scan whilst Matt had his
- 2:03Speaker 1: hand on Annalisa's pregnant belly. And the announcement post was
- 2:06Speaker 1: a photo dump and it really showed off the bond
- 2:09Speaker 1: that Posey and Annalise already share. So in one of
- 2:12Speaker 1: the photos, Annalise was sitting at the edge of a
- 2:15Speaker 1: pool and Posey was cuddling up to her and looking
- 2:17Speaker 1: at her belly. Then in another, it showed Annalise and
- 2:20Speaker 1: Posey's shadows whilst they were holding hands.
- 2:24Speaker 2: And I just kind of.
- 2:25Speaker 1: Forgot that Posey had this other life with Matt and
- 2:28Speaker 1: his family. I'm just so used to only seeing Posey
- 2:31Speaker 1: in Tammy's world and thinking about how Matt Sikowsky is
- 2:34Speaker 1: going to be her stepdad.
- 2:35Speaker 2: I didn't even consider that she clearly has a new stepmom.
- 2:38Speaker 1: It is really fascinating to see how both parents are
- 2:40Speaker 1: trying to push how amazing step-parents their other partners are.
- 2:45Speaker 1: It's a bit like when you see Kayla Asinas' daughter, Anna,
- 2:48Speaker 1: popping up in Rachel Dillon's content. You're like, oh, that's right.
- 2:51Speaker 2: Yeah, you sort of forget.
- 2:52Speaker 1: It was really sweet because I saw Tammy congratulated the couple.
- 2:56Speaker 1: So she wrote under the post, so excited for you
- 2:58Speaker 1: two with two crying faces and a love heart. She continued,
- 3:02Speaker 1: Poe is going to be the best big sissy. And
- 3:05Speaker 1: Annalise replied saying she's going to be the best can't wait.
- 3:08Speaker 1: I mean, it's nice that they're getting along. Absolute class
- 3:10Speaker 1: act there from Tammy Hembrough. Matt Sikowsky also got in
- 3:14Speaker 1: on the action writing, congratulations guys, Posey will be the
- 3:17Speaker 1: best big sister. Have you noticed the commentary around Matt
- 3:19Speaker 1: Paul is, oh, he's a good dad. What a great guy.
- 3:23Speaker 1: And I think he actually is a good dad, but
- 3:26Speaker 1: I think it's because it's in comparison to Rhys Hawkins. Well,
- 3:29Speaker 1: it's the incomplete contrast because Rhys Hawkins doesn't often see
- 3:33Speaker 1: his children. I mean, we saw him hang out with
- 3:35Speaker 1: them when they visited in Bali because he's living in
- 3:37Speaker 1: Bali currently. He doesn't really play much of a role
- 3:39Speaker 1: in their life. But one thing Tammy has always been
- 3:42Speaker 1: good at is having a strong relationship with her children's fathers.
- 3:46Speaker 1: Even though Rhys isn't really in the picture. publicly she
- 3:49Speaker 1: was always very.
- 3:50Speaker 2: Supportive and complimentary to him. That wasn't always the case.
- 3:53Speaker 2: I know not initially.
- 3:54Speaker 1: Obviously when there were more feelings involved. But by Tammy
- 3:57Speaker 1: commenting under this pregnancy post, it led to a lot
- 3:59Speaker 1: of followers calling them blended family goals. I want to
- 4:02Speaker 1: know what happens at Christmas. Do they all catch up together? No,
- 4:05Speaker 1: they have two separate things, which is what we learnt
- 4:07Speaker 1: from the birthday party. They are blended family goals, but
- 4:10Speaker 1: it's quite clear they still want to have their separate occasion.
- 4:12Speaker 2: Now Matt and Annalise also revealed... that this is going
- 4:15Speaker 2: to be a baby boy.
- 4:16Speaker 1: So they shared a very relaxed video of them finding
- 4:20Speaker 1: out the news on their couch.
- 4:21Speaker 2: Let's throw to how they reacted. Now this led Tammy
- 4:35Speaker 2: to comment.
- 4:36Speaker 1: Also, the way I immediately knew it was a boy
- 4:39Speaker 1: by the massive smile on Matt's face the next day,
- 4:42Speaker 1: to which Annalise.
- 4:43Speaker 2: Replied, Ha ha ha.
- 4:44Speaker 1: No secrets with that grin. Now that's a very sweet comment,
- 4:48Speaker 1: but how do you think she actually feels about Tammy
- 4:51Speaker 1: and Matt being so close? See, if I was Annalise,
- 4:55Speaker 1: I don't know if I would like that comment because
- 4:56Speaker 1: it's kind of like, oh, I know Matt so well
- 4:58Speaker 1: that I could just tell. And also it's a little
- 5:01Speaker 1: bit of an underhanded comment because it's kind of inferring
- 5:04Speaker 1: that he wasn't happy that Posey was a girl. I
- 5:06Speaker 1: think it's more inferring, well, he's got the girl. Now
- 5:09Speaker 1: he's happy to have a boy. That comment is more
- 5:11Speaker 1: for outsiders because I look at that and go, oh, wow,
- 5:14Speaker 1: those women must be really cool with each other because
- 5:16Speaker 1: they're chatting back and forth. That's why I was so
- 5:19Speaker 1: confused because after the love fest in the comment section,
- 5:22Speaker 1: I was surprised to see a follower compare Annalise's baby
- 5:26Speaker 1: announcement with Tammy's announcement. So the follower wrote, stark contrast
- 5:31Speaker 1: to when Tammy announced her trap pregnancy to him. He
- 5:34Speaker 1: looks stunned and in complete despair.
- 5:36Speaker 2: Nice to see you both genuinely happy and ecstatic. That's awful.
- 5:39Speaker 1: Now, that comment hadn't been removed. It's been up there
- 5:42Speaker 1: for two days. And this, of course, led me to
- 5:45Speaker 1: go back and look at Tammy and Matt's announcement.
- 5:48Speaker 2: So I couldn't remember how they announced their pregnancy.
- 5:51Speaker 1: I will say these two announcement posts were very different
- 5:54Speaker 1: to one another. And it's not because Matt looked trapped
- 5:57Speaker 1: or anything like that. It was down to the level
- 5:59Speaker 1: of production quality. So whilst Matt and Annalise's video was
- 6:03Speaker 1: very casual, they just snapped it in a mirror at
- 6:05Speaker 1: their home. Matt and Tammy's were shot by a professional videographer.
- 6:09Speaker 1: Now the start of the video was shot in slow
- 6:12Speaker 1: motion and it showed Tammy walking towards Matt in her
- 6:14Speaker 1: garden and it was from the back and then suddenly
- 6:17Speaker 1: it panned out to reveal that Tammy had this big
- 6:20Speaker 1: pregnant belly and I have to say she planned every
- 6:23Speaker 1: detail perfectly because Matt and her were wearing these black
- 6:26Speaker 1: matching outfits and then Wolf and Saskia ended up entering
- 6:30Speaker 1: the video, embracing their mum's tummy. They were also wearing
- 6:33Speaker 1: black matching outfits. We have to remember, Tammy Hembrough has
- 6:37Speaker 1: over 17 million followers. Annalise has only got like 8,000.
- 6:40Speaker 1: So there's going to be a difference in their production level.
- 6:43Speaker 1: And also there's a difference in the thirst for that
- 6:46Speaker 1: type of information. I think it would be disappointing if
- 6:48Speaker 1: Tammy Hembrough just put out a really casual photo. Yeah, well,
- 6:51Speaker 1: it's the difference between a micro-influencer and a mega-influencer. But
- 6:55Speaker 1: I actually think it makes Matt and Annalise look more genuine,
- 6:59Speaker 1: like their love looks more genuine because it's not so
- 7:01Speaker 1: over the top. Do you think they don't really want
- 7:03Speaker 1: to shout it from the rooftops too and make it
- 7:05Speaker 1: so over the top because they really haven't been together
- 7:08Speaker 1: for that long? I don't necessarily think so. I think
- 7:12Speaker 1: it's a normal way to announce it. I think it
- 7:14Speaker 1: makes sense because Matt really did shout it from the
- 7:17Speaker 1: rooftops with Tammy in terms of their engagement and the
- 7:19Speaker 1: baby and that didn't really go too well. So I
- 7:21Speaker 1: can understand why you'd want to keep this a little
- 7:24Speaker 1: bit more casual, a bit more demure. I feel really excited.
- 7:30Speaker 1: Podcaster Nikki Westcott has tied the knot to her restaurateur partner,
- 7:34Speaker 1: Ollie Frost in Byron Bay. The lavish European inspired wedding
- 7:38Speaker 1: was so picture perfect, it made the online pages of
- 7:41Speaker 1: Vogue Australia. However, one wedding guest's actions nearly spoiled the
- 7:45Speaker 1: deal and a new legal drama has threatened to overshadow
- 7:49Speaker 1: the hype. Amy, before we get into the drama, can
- 7:52Speaker 1: you tell us about the wedding day itself?
- 7:53Speaker 2: Because it looked beautiful.
- 7:55Speaker 1: Yeah, this wedding has been all over my For You page.
- 7:58Speaker 1: It was a very lavish day, and it was clear
- 8:00Speaker 1: that no expense was spared in putting this event together.
- 8:04Speaker 1: It was held at the Byron Bay Hinterland Estate, which
- 8:07Speaker 1: is a Mediterranean-inspired property owned by a close friend of
- 8:11Speaker 1: Nikki and Ollie's.
- 8:12Speaker 2: I wonder if they got a bit of a discount
- 8:13Speaker 2: there if it's owned by a friend.
- 8:15Speaker 1: Well, possibly, because... This wedding has attracted the attention, as
- 8:19Speaker 1: you said, of Vogue Australia. So I'm sure maybe there
- 8:21Speaker 1: were a few discounted things along the way. Yeah, that's
- 8:24Speaker 1: what a lot of people are saying online because quite
- 8:26Speaker 1: a few people were blown away by how extravagant this
- 8:29Speaker 1: wedding was. People are saying that this wedding could have
- 8:32Speaker 1: been upwards of a $ 300, 000 event. And because it was
- 8:36Speaker 1: in Vogue, they're thinking, well, maybe they got a lot
- 8:39Speaker 1: of sponsored deals.
- 8:40Speaker 2: Because of that.
- 8:41Speaker 1: I mean, when we spoke about Mia Pleszek's wedding, a
- 8:44Speaker 1: source told us that she had been telling a lot
- 8:47Speaker 1: of vendors that she was possibly going to be in
- 8:49Speaker 1: Vogue magazine. And that was her way of trying to
- 8:51Speaker 1: get a free brand deal. Obviously she didn't end up
- 8:55Speaker 1: being in Vogue magazine. Yeah. There's also a difference because
- 8:59Speaker 1: I think Mia Pleszek was possibly going to pay to
- 9:01Speaker 1: be in Vogue magazine. I mean, word on the street
- 9:04Speaker 1: is that your wedding has to be over $ 200, 000 to
- 9:07Speaker 1: even be considered in Vogue. The fact that Nikki Westcott
- 9:10Speaker 1: has such a huge profile would have helped her get
- 9:13Speaker 1: into the pages. I want to clear it up because
- 9:16Speaker 1: she didn't actually pay to get in there. She was
- 9:19Speaker 1: asked to be in there because of her celebrity status.
- 9:22Speaker 1: She cleared that one up. Well, I can see why,
- 9:24Speaker 1: because Nikki has a star power. The wedding was probably
- 9:27Speaker 1: one of the most beautiful influencer weddings I've seen. It
- 9:30Speaker 1: was styled and planned by DeJua Events, which is a
- 9:33Speaker 1: prestigious events company. And they did an incredible job They
- 9:37Speaker 1: had roaming limoncello carts, a champagne tower, dirty martinis, and
- 9:42Speaker 1: they had these raw bars where there was just this
- 9:45Speaker 1: amazing food on display. They also, of course, had caviar
- 9:48Speaker 1: and a personalized menu. So this menu was created just
- 9:53Speaker 1: for the wedding. It's not your stock standard one that
- 9:55Speaker 1: you get at this bar.
- 9:56Speaker 2: So not your choice of just fish or chicken. They
- 9:58Speaker 2: had something a bit different.
- 9:59Speaker 1: It was a little bit more special than that. I
- 10:00Speaker 1: feel like Nikki and this wedding planner made a huge
- 10:03Speaker 1: effort for these elements to be unique. They didn't want
- 10:06Speaker 1: to do what everyone's doing. I mean, I know the
- 10:08Speaker 1: champagne towers have sort of been done. But I like
- 10:11Speaker 1: the fact that they had unique elements. They even had
- 10:13Speaker 1: custom number plates on all of the wedding cars, which
- 10:16Speaker 1: said Frost, which is Ollie's last name. You know, the
- 10:19Speaker 1: big dollars have been spent then when you see the
- 10:21Speaker 1: number plates.
- 10:21Speaker 2: Well, I mean, you've got a lot of pressure.
- 10:23Speaker 1: If your wedding is going to be in Vogue magazine,
- 10:26Speaker 1: you have to have those elements, which are then going
- 10:28Speaker 1: to dictate future wedding plans. Well, there was so much
- 10:32Speaker 1: anticipation online to see photos of the wedding. But due
- 10:36Speaker 1: to the arrangements with Vogue, the couple were only able
- 10:39Speaker 1: to share photos once they had been published online. Yeah,
- 10:42Speaker 1: I kept seeing TikToks of people just hanging out for
- 10:45Speaker 1: the photos and being like, me constantly refreshing my TikTok
- 10:48Speaker 1: or Instagram. Well, one of their guests nearly spoiled their deal.
- 10:52Speaker 1: Her name was Tegan Philippa, and she clearly missed the
- 10:55Speaker 1: memo about this wedding being in vogue because she shared
- 10:58Speaker 1: a story of Nikki and Ollie standing at the altar
- 11:01Speaker 1: on her Instagram. to nearly 100,000 followers. Look, I don't
- 11:05Speaker 1: even think this is only a rule if you're in
- 11:07Speaker 1: Vogue magazine. I don't think anyone should be posting a
- 11:10Speaker 1: photo of the bride and groom before they've got a.
- 11:12Speaker 2: Chance to do so.
- 11:13Speaker 1: But surely their celebrant was like, hey guys, this is
- 11:15Speaker 1: a switched off wedding or whatever they call it. please
- 11:18Speaker 1: don't take any photos. I mean, even if I'm at
- 11:20Speaker 1: a wedding and they don't mention that, I still think
- 11:23Speaker 1: it's good etiquette not to post until the couple has
- 11:25Speaker 1: actually shared a photo. I even think that you shouldn't
- 11:28Speaker 1: post photos of what the bridesmaids look like or what
- 11:31Speaker 1: the flowers or any other specific elements that, I mean,
- 11:34Speaker 1: generally it's the bride who has spent so much time
- 11:37Speaker 1: picking these things. They should be the ones to first
- 11:39Speaker 1: share about it. Yeah. I think if you've spent so
- 11:42Speaker 1: much money, you kind of want to be in control
- 11:44Speaker 1: of what images come out of your wedding.
- 11:46Speaker 2: Yeah, definitely.
- 11:47Speaker 1: Because For Nikki in particular, because she is a fashion designer,
- 11:51Speaker 1: there was a lot of anticipation to see the dress.
- 11:54Speaker 1: And I know she had several dresses, but the altar
- 11:57Speaker 1: dress is usually the most important one. And the fact
- 11:59Speaker 1: that Tegan just posted it so flippantly, I wonder if
- 12:03Speaker 1: there was a bit of tension after that. Well, it
- 12:05Speaker 1: did get deleted quite quickly. Nikki, she looked absolutely stunning.
- 12:10Speaker 1: I want to know what you thought of her dress
- 12:11Speaker 1: because she wore a Danielle Frankel gown to the ceremony.
- 12:14Speaker 2: And I say gown, it was technically not a dress.
- 12:17Speaker 1: It was a corset and skirt set. And it was
- 12:19Speaker 1: actually the first wedding gown or outfit she tried on
- 12:23Speaker 1: during a trip to New York. Did you rate it?
- 12:25Speaker 2: I loved it.
- 12:26Speaker 1: She also had this stunning veil. She looked so elegant.
- 12:29Speaker 1: It looks so classic. I had that moment where I
- 12:32Speaker 1: gasped when I saw her because she looked beautiful. And
- 12:35Speaker 1: I love that she had her hair down because we've
- 12:38Speaker 1: seen so many brides scrape every bit of hair off
- 12:40Speaker 1: their face and have that very sleek look. But I
- 12:43Speaker 1: loved her hair. She looked like a princess. Like I
- 12:46Speaker 1: cannot fault the look at all. I loved it. It
- 12:49Speaker 1: was so her and I liked that it was a
- 12:51Speaker 1: bit different from what everyone else is doing. Yeah. And
- 12:53Speaker 1: I think it will dictate a lot of trends moving forward.
- 12:56Speaker 1: And of course it wouldn't be an influencer wedding without
- 12:59Speaker 1: a second dress. So Nikki's second dress was from a
- 13:02Speaker 1: local Byron Bay designer called Kate Willer. And this dress
- 13:06Speaker 1: was a beaded strapless party gown with a lace up
- 13:08Speaker 1: corset And it looked beautiful. I mean, you could probably
- 13:12Speaker 1: put Nikki in a potato sack and she would have
- 13:14Speaker 1: looked good. Nikki's been really clever with how she's rolled
- 13:17Speaker 1: out her wedding content. And I think when you're an influencer,
- 13:20Speaker 1: you've got to be because there's a real opportunity to
- 13:22Speaker 1: grow your follower base. So in the space of 30 days,
- 13:26Speaker 1: she has gained an extra 7,710 followers thanks to that
- 13:28Speaker 1: wedding content, which is a lot because Nikki has 117,000 followers.
- 13:36Speaker 1: So to add an extra seven, that's a pretty big
- 13:38Speaker 1: jump and it shows you just how lucrative big milestone
- 13:41Speaker 1: events are for influencers. I'm actually surprised that Nikki only
- 13:45Speaker 1: has 117,000 followers and that's because the Happy Hour podcast
- 13:49Speaker 1: is so huge.
- 13:50Speaker 2: People are calling it a cultural phenomenon.
- 13:52Speaker 1: I wonder if it's just that they get bigger downloads
- 13:55Speaker 1: or that people find them in different spots. 117,000 is
- 13:58Speaker 1: still a lot for a podcaster to have. Yeah, I know.
- 14:01Speaker 1: But like you think of some influencers who claim to
- 14:04Speaker 1: have like half a million followers and no one's ever
- 14:06Speaker 1: heard of them. That's true. It's obviously genuine followers in
- 14:09Speaker 1: this case. Also, you mentioned how clever Nikki's been with
- 14:11Speaker 1: wedding content. She's also been pretty clever from a business
- 14:14Speaker 1: perspective because she has done a cross promotion for her
- 14:17Speaker 1: brand Jagger and Stone. So she designed a bridal collection
- 14:21Speaker 1: for her bridesmaids to wear. And the gowns were gorgeous
- 14:25Speaker 1: and also pretty well priced. So I think they're going
- 14:28Speaker 1: to sell out. Yeah. So all of the bridesmaids wore
- 14:30Speaker 1: black dresses, which is very on trend at the moment.
- 14:33Speaker 1: I would have guessed that that was what the color
- 14:35Speaker 1: was going to be. And they are selling the Lucy
- 14:38Speaker 1: Jackson dress. So it is the specific dress that she wore.
- 14:41Speaker 1: I think that's the one that's getting the most attention
- 14:43Speaker 1: at the moment. It was around $ 280. 00. which is a
- 14:46Speaker 1: typical price for a bridesmaid dress. Do you know what
- 14:49Speaker 1: I find funny about all of the social media posts
- 14:52Speaker 1: is that the one that's actually gone viral on TikTok
- 14:56Speaker 1: had nothing to do with how elegant this event was. Like,
- 14:58Speaker 1: I think they're probably quite surprised. It was a video
- 15:01Speaker 1: of Nikki's nephew pranking her and Ollie that he'd forgotten
- 15:05Speaker 1: the rings. Let's throw to the grab. Now, for those
- 15:15Speaker 1: who haven't seen this clip, Ollie did not look impressed.
- 15:18Speaker 1: One TikTok user commented, hubby was unamused. He was ready
- 15:22Speaker 1: to fight the little dude. Now that comment has amassed
- 15:25Speaker 1: over 17.1 thousand likes. Well, you could tell that Ollie
- 15:29Speaker 1: was trying to put a smile on at the end
- 15:30Speaker 1: when he realized that it was all just a joke.
- 15:32Speaker 2: Hold on a second.
- 15:33Speaker 1: I really like that a moment like this went viral
- 15:36Speaker 1: as opposed to other moments because Even though Nikki looks
- 15:39Speaker 1: so elegant and classy, when it comes down to it,
- 15:42Speaker 1: everyone jokes that she's a bit of a bogan and
- 15:44Speaker 1: has like a great sense of humor. So I love
- 15:47Speaker 1: that a funny moment went viral for them. Well, because
- 15:50Speaker 1: it had gone so viral, it was obviously reaching people
- 15:52Speaker 1: that didn't know her. And the main comments were, oh
- 15:55Speaker 1: my God, this bride is the most stunning bride I've
- 15:57Speaker 1: ever seen. So it was, it had reached a good
- 16:00Speaker 1: part of TikTok. Now, while there has been so much
- 16:03Speaker 1: love online for this wedding, there is a new legal
- 16:06Speaker 1: drama which is threatening to overshadow all of this. So
- 16:09Speaker 1: as reported in the Gold Coast Bulletin, an Adelaide YouTuber
- 16:13Speaker 1: named David Nicholas has just launched Supreme Court action against
- 16:17Speaker 1: Nikki's husband, Ollie, as well as companies that are linked
- 16:20Speaker 1: to his mother, Karen Fines. Now, last year, we spoke
- 16:23Speaker 1: in more detail about some of Ollie's business dramas. And
- 16:27Speaker 1: it involved some of the companies that are linked to
- 16:29Speaker 1: his mother. So it's alleged that these companies in his
- 16:33Speaker 1: mother's name are actually his companies.
- 16:36Speaker 2: It's an interesting tactic to use.
- 16:38Speaker 1: And this is a separate issue to the issue we
- 16:40Speaker 1: spoke about last year, which involved Matt Poole and money
- 16:44Speaker 1: he had invested in a restaurant. And I also want
- 16:46Speaker 1: to point out that the YouTuber has launched legal action
- 16:49Speaker 1: against Ollie's business partner, Jonathan Eddings. Now, these latest court
- 16:54Speaker 1: filings are in relation to the defunct Grasses Greener Festival,
- 16:58Speaker 1: which Ollie founded with his business partner, Jonathan Eddings. Now,
- 17:02Speaker 1: the music festival went into administration late in 2022 and
- 17:06Speaker 1: ended up owing more than $ 3 million to artists, fans
- 17:10Speaker 1: and suppliers, as well as the tax office. Yeah, so
- 17:13Speaker 1: this YouTuber is claiming that he loaned the Grasses Greener
- 17:16Speaker 1: Festival $ 1. 25 million just weeks before it collapsed in December
- 17:22Speaker 1: of 2022. So he launched legal action last month and
- 17:26Speaker 1: the court documents say he is seeking recovery of possession
- 17:29Speaker 1: of land against Ollie and his business partner and five
- 17:33Speaker 1: associated companies. Now, Ollie and his business associates are yet
- 17:37Speaker 1: to file a defence to the claim. This is very
- 17:41Speaker 1: terrible timing. It doesn't particularly paint a great picture, though,
- 17:46Speaker 1: that you've had this super lavish wedding... They've recently jetted
- 17:50Speaker 1: off in business class, which they got upgraded to, mind you,
- 17:54Speaker 1: which is one of my pet peeves. I don't think
- 17:56Speaker 1: celebrities or influencers should ever be upgraded to business class. No, however,
- 17:59Speaker 1: I think that people on their honeymoon should be. Oh,
- 18:02Speaker 1: I know, but I would like to see a normal
- 18:04Speaker 1: everyday couple get that. Well, as you said, it's not
- 18:07Speaker 1: great optics, is it, that you've just dropped this lavish
- 18:10Speaker 1: wedding in vogue and then next minute you're being sued
- 18:13Speaker 1: by somebody for 1.25 million dollars. To be honest, when
- 18:16Speaker 1: I saw all the headlines about the wedding, I was thinking,
- 18:19Speaker 1: how are they affording this if last year Ollie allegedly
- 18:23Speaker 1: owes Matt Paul and a bunch of other people all
- 18:25Speaker 1: of this money?
- 18:26Speaker 2: And the thing that worries me for Nikki is that
- 18:29Speaker 2: now they're married, these legal woes are her legal woes.
- 18:32Speaker 1: Well, they kind of were before because even though it's
- 18:35Speaker 1: got nothing to do with Nikki by association, it didn't
- 18:38Speaker 1: paint her in the best light. Financially now, these are
- 18:40Speaker 1: her legal woes as well. I just feel sorry for
- 18:43Speaker 1: her because She does have such a big fan base.
- 18:46Speaker 1: People are excited about this wedding and now all this
- 18:49Speaker 1: legal drama is going to drag it all down. You
- 18:53Speaker 1: meet somebody, you get together, you get coffee, you get proposed,
- 18:58Speaker 1: you get married, you are pregnant, you have a baby,
- 19:02Speaker 1: you have children.
- 19:04Speaker 2: Is that how I should do it?
- 19:04Speaker 1: Yes.
- 19:05Speaker 2: So I should get a coffee first?
- 19:07Speaker 1: Yes, and like know her. Sophie Keisha has hit back
- 19:12Speaker 1: at critics after debuting her new girlfriend, Madison Press Packers.
- 19:17Speaker 1: The 34-year-old influencer declared her love for the AFLW player
- 19:21Speaker 1: in Stellar Magazine over the weekend, saying she's found her person. Now,
- 19:25Speaker 1: there has been a huge response to this article, and
- 19:29Speaker 1: one follower wrote underneath the post, oh no, Maddie will
- 19:32Speaker 1: get chewed up and spat out too. I think this
- 19:35Speaker 1: comment is in relation to a bit of a pattern
- 19:38Speaker 1: that some of Sophie's followers have noticed recently. in terms
- 19:41Speaker 1: of her type of person that she likes to date
- 19:43Speaker 1: and also the outcomes of some of those relationships. Because
- 19:46Speaker 1: we've jokingly referred to her on the podcast as a
- 19:48Speaker 1: bit of a jersey chase. She was, of course, with
- 19:51Speaker 1: her ex-husband, Jared Keisha, who played AFL. Her former girlfriend,
- 19:55Speaker 1: Alana Kennedy, is a professional soccer player. Are we seeing
- 19:57Speaker 1: a bit of a pattern here, Sophie? Well, her fiance,
- 19:59Speaker 1: Matty Garrick, also played basketball and her most recent ex-girlfriend,
- 20:03Speaker 1: Sophie van der Heuvel played AFLW.
- 20:06Speaker 2: So she definitely loves a sports person.
- 20:08Speaker 1: In her now girlfriend's team as well.
- 20:10Speaker 2: That's right.
- 20:10Speaker 1: Awkward. Now, Sophie definitely wasn't happy with this comment and
- 20:14Speaker 1: she hit back writing, just to clarify with you, I
- 20:18Speaker 1: am not allowed to end relationships due to cheating and
- 20:21Speaker 1: your life would be more enjoyable if I stayed in
- 20:23Speaker 1: miserable places, question marks.
- 20:25Speaker 2: Got it.
- 20:25Speaker 1: I'll take note for this one. Now, people automatically assume
- 20:30Speaker 1: that Sophie must be referring to her ex-fiance, Maddie. Now,
- 20:33Speaker 1: at the time of their breakup, there were very strong
- 20:36Speaker 1: rumors being fanned, mostly by Sophie and some of her
- 20:39Speaker 1: journo friends, that Maddie had been unfaithful whilst playing basketball
- 20:43Speaker 1: in Italy.
- 20:44Speaker 2: So she had.
- 20:45Speaker 1: Moved there for the summer, and it's believed that she
- 20:47Speaker 1: may have allegedly cheated with a team member. Now, things
- 20:51Speaker 1: came to a head when Sophie jetted off to Italy
- 20:53Speaker 1: to surprise Maddie. And then she cut her trip short
- 20:57Speaker 1: and announced their breakup shortly after. Now, I don't think
- 21:00Speaker 1: she's only referring to Maddie in this comment. I think
- 21:03Speaker 1: she's also trying to have a swipe at another ex.
- 21:06Speaker 1: Because if you look closely at her comment, she said,
- 21:09Speaker 1: I am not allowed to end relationships. So relationships, plural.
- 21:13Speaker 1: And she also asked the follower, would you prefer me
- 21:16Speaker 1: to stay in miserable places? Again, plural.
- 21:19Speaker 2: Yeah, I think she's having a crack at a few
- 21:21Speaker 2: people that she's dated.
- 21:22Speaker 1: Yeah. There was also a very strong reaction to Sophie's
- 21:25Speaker 1: comment around her sperm donor.
- 21:27Speaker 2: So in the Stellar.
- 21:28Speaker 1: Article, she said, the way I view it is this
- 21:31Speaker 1: child is mine and mine only. And how that child
- 21:35Speaker 1: was made or who contributed to that child being made
- 21:38Speaker 1: is of no importance at all. Now, one follower wrote back,
- 21:42Speaker 1: except to the baby itself, who it is going to
- 21:44Speaker 1: be very important to. And to Sophie's credit, she agreed
- 21:48Speaker 1: with the comment and said, exactly, this comment refers to.
- 21:51Speaker 2: The general public.
- 21:52Speaker 1: So she is saying that the general public really has
- 21:55Speaker 1: no right.
- 21:55Speaker 2: To know who this sperm donor is.
- 21:57Speaker 1: Well, they don't really have a right to know who
- 21:59Speaker 1: it is. But of course, when you're promoting these podcasts
- 22:02Speaker 1: that you're on and you're doing photo shoots and whatever,
- 22:05Speaker 1: and talking about it, it's going to grow to further speculation.
- 22:09Speaker 2: Well, you're going to be curious.
- 22:10Speaker 1: I mean, it's interesting because in this Stella article, which
- 22:12Speaker 1: we touched on on Tuesday, she also said that the
- 22:15Speaker 1: only other person who knows about this sperm donor and
- 22:18Speaker 1: who he is, is her best friend. And she specifically
- 22:21Speaker 1: not told her family members about it. But hasn't she
- 22:22Speaker 1: confirmed that it's not actually somebody in her life?
- 22:26Speaker 2: No, it's an anonymous sperm donor.
- 22:27Speaker 1: But I mean, sometimes when people do go through the
- 22:30Speaker 1: sperm donor process, they'll have a bit of a laugh
- 22:32Speaker 1: and they'll talk about some of the qualities that the
- 22:34Speaker 1: person had or they picked. But you don't ever know
- 22:36Speaker 1: their name. You just know specific, like this person is
- 22:39Speaker 1: brunette and this tall. Oh, exactly. But I don't think
- 22:42Speaker 1: she even wants to talk about that with her friends
- 22:44Speaker 1: and family. Yeah. Well, let's get into our highs and
- 22:48Speaker 1: lows of the week. And sadly, we are missing Kate.
- 22:51Speaker 1: She's had to run off to feed Jack, but we
- 22:53Speaker 1: will kick on. I'm going to start things with my
- 22:55Speaker 1: low of the week. And this has been one that
- 22:57Speaker 1: I have been holding onto probably for about six months.
- 22:59Speaker 2: So It's been really pissing me off.
- 23:02Speaker 1: What is this? There's a few things that spring to mind.
- 23:06Speaker 1: My law of the week is that MAC have gotten
- 23:09Speaker 1: rid of for quite some time my OG, which is
- 23:13Speaker 1: the MAC Studio Fix Foundation. I have been wearing this
- 23:16Speaker 1: makeup or this foundation since I was 20.
- 23:19Speaker 2: Now, that is a very long time. And it was
- 23:22Speaker 2: a lot of Holy grail.
- 23:23Speaker 1: That's a lot of bottle of bottles of Mac as well.
- 23:25Speaker 2: Well, that's what used to piss me off.
- 23:26Speaker 1: I had so many bottles that I could exchange for
- 23:28Speaker 1: free lipsticks. And then they got rid of that program.
- 23:30Speaker 1: I'm a big Mac fan. So this is why I've
- 23:32Speaker 1: been sitting on this one. Cause I thought, Oh, I'll
- 23:34Speaker 1: try the new formula. So basically this has been an
- 23:37Speaker 1: OG staple for so many people, this foundation.
- 23:40Speaker 2: And then they changed it.
- 23:41Speaker 1: They put all of these like skincare products in there.
- 23:45Speaker 1: I don't want skincare in my makeup. I just want
- 23:47Speaker 1: the makeup to be good.
- 23:48Speaker 2: This new.
- 23:50Speaker 1: Sophie doesn't give a fuck about what her skin looks
- 23:52Speaker 1: like in the future. She just wants to look good now.
- 23:54Speaker 2: But I'll use skincare at nighttime.
- 23:55Speaker 1: Anyway, I don't need active ingredients in my skincare. It's
- 23:57Speaker 1: a very popular thing, isn't it? Yeah. Anyway, so they
- 24:00Speaker 1: have totally changed up this formula. It is absolute shithouse.
- 24:05Speaker 2: I tried it for a couple of months. I it
- 24:07Speaker 2: dried so quickly. It's streaky.
- 24:10Speaker 1: The colors are different. Well, you found a whole load
- 24:13Speaker 1: of other people online who'd been saying the same thing.
- 24:15Speaker 2: I found my people. I didn't actually, it was a
- 24:17Speaker 2: Reddit thread. Everyone was ragging on it.
- 24:19Speaker 1: So I want this to be my public declaration for Mac.
- 24:23Speaker 1: Can you please go back to the old formula? I'm
- 24:26Speaker 1: so passionate about this. I want to start some sort
- 24:28Speaker 1: of petition. Surely they're down in sales though. Well, It
- 24:32Speaker 1: more makes me think like why did they change the
- 24:34Speaker 1: formula for it was so popular? Well, they've changed it
- 24:38Speaker 1: because they want to keep up with the hype of, oh,
- 24:40Speaker 1: we've got this in it and this. Yeah, well, again,
- 24:42Speaker 1: like I am on the hunt for a new makeup.
- 24:45Speaker 1: I have been testing a whole bunch of new foundations
- 24:48Speaker 1: recently If anyone has a great foundation that they use
- 24:51Speaker 1: that is full coverage, that is my key, full coverage.
- 24:54Speaker 1: Or any contact at Mac that could fix this issue,
- 24:57Speaker 1: rectify this situation. What about your high? My high of
- 25:01Speaker 1: the week is I am jetting off on a holiday. Finally,
- 25:05Speaker 1: it's my first holiday in five years next week. So
- 25:07Speaker 1: I will be absent from the podcast. I'm heading to
- 25:09Speaker 1: Port Douglas. Everyone has warned me that it's going to
- 25:12Speaker 1: be very, very hot. I've been checking the forecast, it's
- 25:15Speaker 1: around 30 to 31 degrees, but I think the humidity
- 25:18Speaker 1: will be high. And I have been looking for my
- 25:22Speaker 1: holiday wardrobe. I stupidly have been looking for months, but
- 25:26Speaker 1: I haven't actually bought anything.
- 25:28Speaker 2: So I need to pull the pin and buy some
- 25:29Speaker 2: clothes this week.
- 25:30Speaker 1: Hmm. Well, it's exciting. That's exciting. And all of the
- 25:34Speaker 1: summer clothes are out at the moment. Well, I keep
- 25:36Speaker 1: waiting for the Black Friday sales, but I think I'm
- 25:39Speaker 1: just going to miss them. If there's any like cool
- 25:41Speaker 1: girls that listen and always know the right thing to
- 25:43Speaker 1: wear on holidays, because I've been searching Pinterest. I just
- 25:45Speaker 1: want to have a few outfits that are casual, but
- 25:48Speaker 1: cool at the same time.
- 25:49Speaker 2: Let me know what brands you're wearing. Well, my high
- 25:52Speaker 2: of the.
- 25:52Speaker 1: Week was picking up my little kitten, Winnie. And I've
- 25:55Speaker 1: shared a few photos on Instagram of her and everyone's
- 25:58Speaker 1: been like, oh my God, what breed of cat is she?
- 26:00Speaker 1: She's absolutely gorgeous. I'm like, she's a moggy. Well, you
- 26:04Speaker 1: rescued her because she was living at your husband's grandfather's property.
- 26:10Speaker 1: They have a couple of stray cats up there and
- 26:13Speaker 1: she is just gorgeous. Like she looks so much like
- 26:16Speaker 1: our two childhood cats, Theodore and Lulu. Yes. And I've
- 26:19Speaker 1: had a lot of fun as well because I had
- 26:20Speaker 1: been planning for the last week to prank my dad
- 26:23Speaker 1: because last year around the same time, Sophie and I
- 26:27Speaker 1: went down to the Animal Welfare League and we rescued
- 26:29Speaker 1: two kittens for mum and dad, but we gave them
- 26:31Speaker 1: to them as a surprise. And dad was a little
- 26:34Speaker 1: put off at first, but then instantly loved the cats.
- 26:37Speaker 2: He's a softie. He is obsessed with them.
- 26:39Speaker 1: So I wanted to see what his reaction was if
- 26:41Speaker 1: I came with another cat. And let's just say he
- 26:44Speaker 1: was not impressed. What's that? It's Winnie. Who's it for?
- 26:51Speaker 1: It's your daughter.
- 26:54Speaker 2: Oh, we're not having a free cat. They're not having
- 27:03Speaker 2: three cats, Linda.
- 27:05Speaker 1: She's mine. Yeah. Isn't she? Winnie. Winnie. Hello, Winnie.
- 27:14Speaker 2: I love how quickly he switched, though. As soon as
- 27:16Speaker 2: he heard it wasn't his cat, he's like, what's her name?
- 27:18Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 27:19Speaker 2: Now, what's your low of the week?
- 27:20Speaker 1: Well, my law of the week is discovering that you're
- 27:22Speaker 1: going on holiday next week. I completely forgot. So I'm like, fuck,
- 27:27Speaker 1: that's going to be a busy week next week. Well,
- 27:28Speaker 1: you have to work around Kate's schedule because she has
- 27:30Speaker 1: snuck off to go home to feed her son Jack. Oh,
- 27:33Speaker 1: shots fired. Look, I'm happy to go with the flow.
- 27:36Speaker 1: I'm more concerned about our work with our PR company,
- 27:39Speaker 1: but do you know what? You deserve a holiday. As
- 27:41Speaker 1: you said, you haven't been On a trip for five years.
- 27:43Speaker 2: I'm literally going for a week.
- 27:45Speaker 1: So I don't think that you'll miss me too much. Well,
- 27:48Speaker 1: I do hope you have a really lovely time. And
- 27:51Speaker 1: please don't forget, if you are listening and you've enjoyed
- 27:53Speaker 1: this episode, we have a subscriber episode dropping tomorrow.
- 27:57Speaker 2: It's a pretty juicy one.
