  [upbeat music] Hey, everybody.
• 0:17
Full Spectrum Cycling number, uh, what do we got today? 95. 95. Wow. Same age as my mom. Wow. Wow. That's something. So, uh, yeah, 95th one. Remember when people had birthday cakes and you'd blow out the candles- Yeah...
• 0:30
in front of everybody? Make a wish and shit. Man... we were crazy back in- 2019. Right on. [laughs] Got JK to my right. Hello. Hello. Immediately to his right, Sam D today. Hi. Sam was in the neighborhood. Hi.
• 0:47
Uh, and also- [laughs] I never do this... Tony Burger- Hey, guys... sitting, sitting over there. Hey. [upbeat music] Oh, that music is still going. Listen to that. [upbeat music] So how about that snow we got today?
• 1:01
So when do you play Royal season? Yeah, it snowed yesterday, didn't it? Well, it started yesterday and it's just still going. It's like a fricking winter wonderland out there. Yeah. I'm not- Well, you didn't slip yet...
• 1:12
I'm not as enthusiastic about it as you are yet. Yeah. Hm. It's 'cause I got my COVID shot. [laughs] Boy, you're really playing the time machine thing, aren't you?
• 1:22
[laughs] Yeah, I thought I'd throw that all in there real quick just before I forgot. [laughs] Somehow, somehow a, a, a white young guy got to the front- He's not young... of the line at the COVID clinic. He's not young.
• 1:33
Is this e-bike privilege? Yeah, that's probably what it is. Whoa. Coming out of the gate swinging. Yes. Wow. I talked to Chewie earlier. He's, I'm his advocate. Yeah. [laughs] No.
• 1:44
You know, he has that sticker that says, "Every time you shift gears, God kills a kitten." [laughs] I wonder how, if it's like 2X per shift in an e-bike gear. Oh. [laughs] With an e-bike, you don't have to shift.
• 1:55
Yeah, but I wanna destroy more kittens. Ooh, I said that. Wow. Sorry. [laughs] I'm not a cat's- Kitten killer... not a cat guy. There's a horse in this house. Cool. I got, uh, w- who was on the message today with Dan?
• 2:11
Was it just- Me... Tony and me? Um, our buddy Dan, who used to live right down the block here- He lived like a half a block away...
• 2:17
in the River West neighborhood of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, has moved to A- Anchorage- Bridge... Alaska. He claims he can see Russia from his house. Yeah, I don't remember- Oh... when he moved up there.
• 2:28
Was it like- November... yeah, so not, it, but- Oh, yeah, he took the- It was pretty funny on Facebook because he like, he, he went to Anchorage on vacation and he came back and he's like, "I am moving to Anchorage."
• 2:39
And he literally sold like nearly everything he owned and hopped on a plane. Yeah. He said you can't buy a fat bike up there right now. Kept a bunch of guitars. He, you cannot...
• 2:46
[laughs] That was, you know, that was a pretty epic thread this morning from him. He's like, "Can you ship me..." It was, "Can you ship me fat bikes? Where do you work?" "I work at Trek of Anchorage." [laughs] Yeah.
• 2:56
Yeah. And he can't get fat bikes. [laughs] Right. Well, Trek is- Huh... Trek is out till fall of 2021 now. Yeah. Um, and- It's crazy... also, Bill Fleming, who owns that store, s- was one of the founders of 907, so.
• 3:08
Is D- is this the Dan that did the filet on the side, uh, during the Mario Kart trip about 10 years ago? Don't know. No, I don't think so. He, he worked at the Trek store. He worked, yeah.
• 3:19
He worked at 4 Wheel On Sprocket. Sh- you know, yeah, plays guitar. [imitates guitar] Yeah, really good guitarist? Uh, maybe. I don't know. I, that w- I can't remember. You're expecting me to remember- Same...
• 3:29
10 years ago? I don't re- Ah, but it was a great, it was a- I don't remember when we did this show last Wednesday. He did it, he did it with no shirt on and ate it into the rocks, and he totally- Oh, no...
• 3:37
just like narred himself up. I, I think he was smarter than that. I, if that is you, Dan, please- [laughs]... please deny it. There was a Dan that did that. That sounds like Dan Miller to me. Yeah, that's who I- Yeah.
• 3:47
[laughs] There we go. There, there we go. Dan Miller. [laughs] That's who I... I was, that's why I was going like, oh, Dan. Okay. Also a fun guy, but- Oh, yeah... but no. Yeah. All right.
• 3:52
That's who I thought the Dan was you were speaking of. Yeah, Dan had an Ape for a while. I didn't wanna ask the question. He did. I just wanted to provide hints. And I believe Dan's last name is Sapan or Sapan.
• 4:00
So I will not proceed to the next round, and I'm out of here. You are correct, sir. I met him- And you're out [laughs]... due to wings at Dino's. I'm playing in rewards mode now. So it's not Dirty Dan. Not Dirty Dan.
• 4:12
It's not Dirty Dan either. Oh, that's what... Yeah, that would be- No. No.... my second guess, isn't it? There are many Dans to be had. Yeah. Sams and Dans seem to be permeating the bicycle scene- I'm-...
• 4:21
here in, in Milwaukee. That is true. I know three very serious riders whose name starts with S and ends with M, and- Guess there's some Daves too... in the middle. So. There's some Daves too. Yeah. [laughs] Yes.
• 4:31
Strangely, the mic has gone [whooshes]. Yeah. That's, that's just kind of in bar or social situations. I know Mike, um- You just, y- go into a bar and say, "Hey, Mike"... Mike and Berta. Yeah, I guess that fair enough.
• 4:41
He's pretty hardcore. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm just, yeah. And there are some out there. Just when somebody says the name- No Tonys... seven people turn around... those guys, those guys suck. Yeah.
• 4:48
Most of them call themselves- Not enough Tonys... Anthony 'cause they're- Yeah... they're cooler. That's when I'm in trouble. Oh, dude, dude, dude. Oh, what happened? Caller? Welcome.
• 5:00
Welcome to the radio program, caller. Hello? What? Hello. What do we have on the line? Hello? Hello. It's gotta be Dave. Oh, geez. Oh, it's another D word. [laughs] Yeah, I can hear you. Can you hear me? Hi.
• 5:13
Can you hear me? Are you on your phone now? Uh, kind of. Someone's breaking up here. Yeah. How's it going, Dave? I think it's still breaking up. Oh, not too bad. How you guys doing?
• 5:22
Tony's trying to whisper to Sam through the microphone. [laughs] It doesn't really work like that, dude. Well, I was telling him to make a drink. If I, if I whisper on this side of the microphone- Yeah.
• 5:30
It'll only go in your left ear. You didn't, you didn't convince your girlfriend into buying a Heap, did you? No. Good. [laughs] Uh, it was mentioned briefly, but, um, she's a Ford girl- Mm-hmm...
• 5:43
so she's stuck with the Fords. Hey, that new Bronco looks pretty kick-ass. Oh, that looks great. That thing is sweet. I saw one driving. Yeah, we're actually, um, she, she actually thought about that. Um,
• 5:55
but of course, you know, she has to take her dogs into consideration when, you know, doing everything. Of course. Um, so- So having a- You say that like it's a bad thing... wait, having a Bronco, you can't have a dog?
• 6:04
What's that? Make no sense. Grr. Uh, there's just more room in the Exploder, I guess. Grr. Oh, maybe. Well, there's two Broncos, too. There's one on a- Yeah... based on the Escape- Sport...
• 6:13
and then, then the big one, so yeah. I want the big one so you can take the top off. Yeah. I, I of course was more- I, of course, was pushing for the Bronco or the Jeep, you know. [laughs] Right.
• 6:21
Well, Bronco if it's the, um, OJ Memorial Anniversary Edition. [laughs] Mm-hmm. You know. But, yeah, it was pretty cool. White- She, um- Yeah... she was leasing... red interior...
• 6:29
but she just, you know, traded it in for a brand-new one 45 mile per hour governor bar on it. [laughs] You guys are talking over our caller. Shut the fuck up. Sorry. [laughs] Yeah. I'm still stuck on Bronco.
• 6:39
It's just Dave. [laughs] I mean, come on. Sorry. So how you doing, Dave? I'm good. Oh, I just woke up from a little nappy pool here and [laughs] enjoying a little time off work.
• 6:52
What am I doing with Dave right now, you guys? Flipping him off. Thank you. Lubing- Thank you, Robert... lubing up that finger. So, uh, Dave, Sam D is with us here today in the old studio.
• 7:00
I understand you guys have been doing some riding together lately. Yeah. Saw him last night at the Tosa Trails. That's right. Uh, was it last week at the Rock? Yep. Killer both nights. Yep. Yeah.
• 7:14
How do you think it's- Yeah, dude, the trails- It-... trails are prime condition... yeah, it was- Great time for it... was it warm, was it warm out by you today? 'Cause it was pretty warm on this side of town. Yeah.
• 7:24
I don't know if that's gonna- Um-... ice it up a little bit or... Well, they were really packed down. Awesome. So they- Yeah, I stepped outside a couple of times... I bet, I bet they'd be all right. Right there. Cool.
• 7:35
One of the q- Um- We also got, Dave, tell him about the report on the Port Beach from, uh, Steve up there, at Port Washington Beach. That was very interesting. Oh, yeah. He said, um- Ooh, this sounds good...
• 7:45
yeah, he said the trails are really good- Okay... and there's actually beach to ride. Hmm, that intrigues me. Um- I'd like to do that... yes, um, I think we should, uh, plan a little, uh, trip up there.
• 7:59
Is the Holiday Inn back up and running and not under remodeling construction? I think it's stay addable. It was stay addable when we were on remodeling. Right on. Uh, yeah, there's a- [laughs]...
• 8:09
there's a new restaurant underneath it and, uh... Oh, man, they need that, that hotel- I gotta go to, we gotta go there-... that hotel would be-... and recon that. That, it, that would be a good thing-... awesome...
• 8:16
to check out. I'm gonna have to bring a bike with studs and one without just to... [laughs] 'Cause I don't know what the conditions are. Well, does that mean I get a lift?
• 8:26
[laughs] Zito will be taking up the passenger seat. [laughs] There, I gotta give, uh, I'll give him a call, uh, tomorrow and, uh, get more details. I gotta talk to him about something else too, so, uh,
• 8:40
yeah, I, I don't know, I imagine... He said there's a l- um, south to the landslide, and then he said there's beach to ride on the north, so I don't know. Um- Huh.
• 8:52
Well- Maybe some of it, maybe some of the water, like, right at the- We're talking Port?... very dry water line or whatever- Port Washington... the water, but, uh- Yeah...
• 8:58
but- Well, there's always that, that entrance... it goes up or something. We need to do a recon up there and find out. That entrance- Yeah, that sounds great... always, you have to kinda go in the water- Yeah...
• 9:05
a little bit right at the beginning. Right. But after that- Just that little bit... that's what I'm thinking. Yeah. If that opens up. Well, we'll check it out and we'll- We need to rec-... figure it out...
• 9:12
yeah, we need to check that out- Figure it out... 'cause that's- Figure it out... that's a great place to ride in the winter. Figure it out. Oh, shit, yeah. All right.
• 9:17
Well, that's- Yeah, I think, uh, I don't know, Friday afternoon I'm probably open. 'Cause you don't work. Right on. Fucker. Um- Hey, so you did the race up at Shell Track, right? Yeah. How was that?
• 9:29
Did- Did I, did I see a picture of you? Yes, you did. [laughs] I thought that was from Frost Bike. I did too. Yeah, it's, uh, well, you know, it's, uh- Flipping the bird, I'm sure...
• 9:39
Frost, for some reason, it was the day after New Year's Day. I don't know what the hell they was thinking scheduling it then. Um- New person... but, yeah, it's cool.
• 9:49
Um, no beach in it again this year unfortunately, though. Um, just a nice little, like, li- uh, 1.2 mile circuit through the woods there and, you know. How did they do it if there was no beach? Um-
• 10:04
There's a ridge up on top of it. Oh, is that it? Yeah. Yeah. They stay up, uh, all the wa- uh, ooh. Yeah. So you don't have to do that big climb up the beach. [laughs] Yeah. [laughs] Oh, that, yeah, yeah, yeah.
• 10:11
That was brutal. Oh, yeah. I mean, I, I- Yeah. Well, they, they didn't have you climb the, uh- I haven't watched it. It wouldn't hurt me. [laughs] They didn't have you climb the snow, uh, the sledding hill this time.
• 10:21
Oh, okay. Okay. It's a decent climb. Um, I, I tried it once. I went about halfway up, but I t- I did it towards the end of the race, so I was like, my legs are pretty rubbery from my ride on the first too- Yeah...
• 10:33
so that didn't help the situation much, um, but- Right... yeah, I know it's climbable if I really felt like it, I guess. [laughs] Eh, eh. Doable. Um, but yeah, it was a good time, good weather, good conditions.
• 10:45
They have less snow up there than we do down here, I guess. Oh, that's crazy. So that's kinda weird. Yeah. Yeah, it's been a crazy year for snow so far. Yeah, I haven't seen snow a whole lot. Well, the sea just started.
• 10:55
Yeah, it sure has. Um, as we were driving up there, I just looked and noticed, I'm like, "Oh, wow, they don't have any snow up here." Season. Huh. Oh, well. Um- [laughs] That's me...
• 11:05
but of course they had decent snow on there. There on the movie. You know, a good four inches or whatever. It was packed down pretty good. Eh. Cool. Right on. That's bigger than the chess piece. But, uh, [bell ringing]
• 11:15
yeah, so- Top of the hill, Dave. Top of the hill. Dave, what are you drinking, Dave? Cheers. What, what are you sucking down over there? High Life? Um- Oh, I thought you said tears. [laughs] Yeah.
• 11:25
I'm sucking on a High Life right now, too. No, we're, [laughs] we're not. We're not. But I just kinda guessed what you were drinking. Come on, Dave. Come on. We're not, Dave. What? We're not drinking High Life.
• 11:36
We don't drink High Life. I know you're not. JK. I almost pulled out one of my good Keweenaw Pickaxes, but my, uh, Cudighi sausage isn't thawed out, so I was gonna, I was gonna do a UP dinner tonight, but, uh, [laughs]
• 11:49
sausage is still frozen. That's what he says. Oh, Jesus, I'm terrible today. [laughs] Not lately. [laughs] Thank you, Colin Ford, for that gem. [laughs] Playing all the hits here- Colin Ford, man... on Show 95.
• 12:04
That guy never calls in. He's such a slacker. Probably needs to be reminded. He's always flaming. No, I send him, he's like, "I'm working." Oh, the life of a brewer. Okay.
• 12:14
Gotta work when, you know, other people are doing podcasts. [laughs] Cool. All right. That's what we're calling this now. So what's the next, uh, s- Snow Crown race coming up? Uh, shit, I don't even know.
• 12:30
So something is- There's like four of them... the one at Silver Lake is not a, that's not a Snow Crown race? Uh, yeah, that's not Snow Crown. That's not in the series. That's just their individual- That's a good time...
• 12:42
but that's the next race coming up. That's this Saturday. It's this Saturday? That's tomorrow. Tomorrow? Yeah. Wow. Yeah. That's a, that's a great race.
• 12:50
I think you and I teamed up for that- Yeah, we did one year, I think. [laughs] You're right. One time. Well, hopefully we get a little- Yeah. Uh-... we get a little snow in the next couple of yesterdays and, uh- Hours...
• 12:59
it'll be nice. Yeah. Yeah. I think we're supposed to get a couple inches here soon. I don't know. Um- That's what they said... but they got decent snow down there, I guess. Um,
• 13:11
yeah, it's weird just, you know, the heavy snow line is south of us, not north of us like normal. Yeah. Even Hayward- Uh-... doesn't have much in the way of snow right now compared to what they would normally have...
• 13:22
yeah, everybody's just talking about no snow. There's, uh- See ya... there's sections of the Marquette trail system that are gonna be on the, uh, polar roll, which is virtual this year. Um, that, uh- It's so very roll...
• 13:34
they're hoping for snow [laughs] I would say. So how does that work? You get a certain amount of time, like a month, to do the ride and you Strava sections of it or something? Yeah. Two months. I think it's two months.
• 13:45
Um, yeah, and you got to... There's like selfie points. You don't have to Garmin it or anything like that. There's just, you got to take selfies at, uh- God, this sounds dumb... designated places. Selfies?
• 13:55
This sounds- Hey, man, it's a COVID event... bad. You just go- I don't care... what, what are you gonna do? Yeah. Tony's a, Tony's a bring her downer guy over here. You, you don't have to put them on social media.
• 14:06
That selfie of myself, I'm like- You don't have to, you don't have to put them on social media, you know. You just got to, you know, text them to the, uh, race director to make sure you hit all the points, so.
• 14:12
Well, got to do something. Um, I guess Sam's coming with us this year. Huh? Sam, is that right? I am going. You're coming with this year? You- Yeah, yeah... awesome. Um,
• 14:23
yeah, if you've never ridden up there, you will thoroughly enjoy it. Better send me a fucking selfie. Uh, but I guess it's a 40-mile loop out of Marquette- Several... downtown Marquette, just like the...
• 14:33
Well, the standard race is point to point. Um, it goes from Marquette to Ish, as, uh, cool locals call it, or Ishpeming. Ishpeming. Um, yeah. Um, but this year it is a loop.
• 14:46
Originally, I heard it was gonna be like two 20-mile loops in Ishpeming, um, but now I guess it's just one 40-mile freaking out and back in Marquette. Wow. So like always, we'll be packing beer and probably, uh-
• 15:01
Well, if it's beer-... yeah, some sort of, uh, hard liquors that, uh- [laughs] If it's Marquette, they're packing more than that...
• 15:07
one year or two years, we actually, uh, the night before we went to, uh, Cousin's and had [laughs] like sub sandwiches and took those along. [laughs] Good idea if you're gonna do 40 miles in the snow.
• 15:19
So we packed, we packed a lot. How are you gonna get DFL with a virtual event? Yeah, we packed a lot. [laughs] Yeah. Hold his beer. [laughs] Yeah. Do it.
• 15:26
No, typically during, during the regular event, there's actually, um, there's like five beer stops that have, you know, food at them, donuts and other power food, you know, and whatnot. Bacon.
• 15:37
[laughs] Um, and then of course the last stop is the, uh, hugs and bacon, but they're always out of bacon by the time we get there. That's why you bring your own, brother. It's strong, so there's always plenty of hugs.
• 15:46
[laughs] Ain't nothing wrong with a hug. Um, but yeah, on, on a normal year there would be, you know, food stops along the way. Right on. Um, but yeah, we just, we just packed our own anyway.
• 15:59
Like, you know, we always pack our own booze for that anyway, 'cause we're, you know, we're going in there thinking we're gonna be out riding for at least eight hours, you know?
• 16:07
So [laughs] got to bring supplies, you know? Got to have yourself like 500, 600 beers. And one pound of bacon. Yeah. All right.
• 16:14
And just in case you were wondering when the next Snow Crown race is, uh, JK used the modern technology in his palm of his hand- Can you believe it?...
• 16:22
to figure out that it's, uh, it's up at Reforestation Camp up there in, in, in, uh, the Green Bay area at the Tip of the Spear Snow Crown number two, January 23rd. Oh. So that's not that far away. A week from Saturday?
• 16:36
Yeah, I think there's, uh, there's only like four races. Um- Oh, here's an interesting one... there's this one. Okay. So the next one after that is Fat Tracks at Road America. Oh. Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin. Oh.
• 16:48
On the track? Well, I don't know, but- Obviously Fat Tracks... probably not because there's plenty of terrain in that 640 acre complex. Used to work there.
• 16:56
But what if you breached- Around the inside of the track, I'm sure... maybe. I mean, the track is four and a half miles long. Yeah. Mm. I'm wondering. Well, that just seems very interesting.
• 17:04
Uh, and then, uh, February 20th, Hilly Haven Golf Course in De Pere is Fatty Shack. That's Pierce. Fatty Shack. That's clever. I like the name.
• 17:13
As far as I can see, there's four- I think Fat Tracks at Road America would be way more- I, I applaud clever. If they're not gonna be on the track, dude, they're gonna be- I will travel to that. Yes.
• 17:20
They're gonna be- Yeah. Yeah, you're not gonna be able to- I will get that one. Fatty- Although- Especially, especially like you- Fatty Shack's good...
• 17:24
when you end up doing 150 miles there on a car, you know, it's like, it's, you know, [laughs] five miles an hour on a fat bike.
• 17:29
[laughs] Well, they, o- over the summer you could go there on, I think, Tuesday nights or something and ride your bike on the track- Yeah... and do laps. There's benefits, yep.
• 17:37
So, you know, if you're doing a 50-mile race- I heard about that, um-... it's 10 laps, you know? Whatever. Don't worry about it.
• 17:42
I wanted to, uh, I wanted to go out there when Paul Tracy was still racing and he was riding there, 'cause he'd ride on the track. Um, they'd have events like before the, um,
• 17:53
uh, the IRL or Indy car or whatever series he was in. Uh, they'd actually have bike events 'cause a lot of the ride- the, a lot of the drivers were actually riders, so [laughs]
• 18:02
that would've been cool, ride with Paul Tracy. [laughs] Yeah, it would. [laughs] I've, I've driven my vintage race car on that track a couple of times, so that's a fun.
• 18:13
I don't know how fun it would be to ride on a bike- I bet that would be... that going up the front straight there- That's a real climb, man... that's a pretty good hill. That's...
• 18:19
Yeah, it's, it's four and a half miles- Coming down into turn five... but a lot more fun on a motor vehicle. Yeah. Well, they have that little, um, super moto track now too, which is their go-kart track.
• 18:29
If you ever want to have a good time, y- go to YouTube and YouTube like- What about riding it?... Road America crashes on Star And laugh that- You're one of those people that likes watching cars crash, aren't you?
• 18:40
No, but it's, well, Chevys, yeah. [laughs] I mean, yeah, of course. The Camaros that go into the wall and they're like, "OnStar. Hello, OnStar. You were in a crash. I'm all right. I'm on a racetrack."
• 18:52
[laughs] I actually am not on a racetrack. I hit a deer outside of a racetrack- Right, right, right... on the highway, whatever. Uh, you know, it's [laughs] I didn't crash on the track, Dave.
• 19:00
The OnStar insurance company, yeah? [laughs] It is, they are, they are fabulous videos. As far as they know. You can just, you know, feel this guy's bubble deflating as OnStar calls him. Like, "Fuck, I crashed
• 19:13
in my brand-new Camaro." [laughs] It's, yeah, it's that kinda day. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Sport car day. Yeah. All right, Dave, did you get your bottom bracket situation c- taken care of over there?
• 19:24
[laughs] Oh, no, uh, I just threw some, uh, pedaling oil on it and then took a nap and I haven't gotten back to it. [laughs] Well- Roughly 300-... I hope that works out.
• 19:35
I think I found a set of, uh, a, a bottom bracket if you need one, which are gonna be super hard to come by this year. [laughs] Yeah, awesome. I probably should replace those bearings.
• 19:44
They get a little stiff, but then once you get 'em moving, um- [laughs] Jesus... they're a little smooth. Son. Wait a second. [laughs] Yeah, these are like whistle stops. Are you playing, like, bingo?
• 19:54
[laughs] Like, you can hit all of them. [laughs] But- How many times can you say "maybe" on this? Yeah, I, I got enough, I got enough other projects going on. I switched over to, uh,
• 20:03
I'm hand-painting the pads for my Milwaukee Flyer 'cause they aren't the proper colors that I want. So I went and bought some paint sticks and I'm went, I'm painting DMX pads. Wow. [laughs] Dude. Dude, seriously.
• 20:15
Yeah, it's actually working, it's actually working pretty good. Dude, seriously. For real. Come on, man. Everybody paints their pads these days, dude. Yeah. Not, not the brake pads. Pa- DMX, uh- Yeah...
• 20:26
yeah, the frame pads. Yeah. [laughs] How about your calipers? Paint your calipers on your, uh, on your disc brakes. [laughs] Like the fancy guys and their fancy cars do. Yeah. Mm-hmm.
• 20:38
I gotta- Yeah, no, I'm not that far yet. [laughs] [laughs] May- may- maybe if I'm off work for a couple of weeks, then maybe. [laughs] But no, not that bored yet. All right, man. But, yeah, right on. Um,
• 20:52
Sam, hit me up for, uh, this weekend if you wanna do, um, the Silver Lake thing. I'm most likely going. What is the day on that? So we're gonna actually, oh, yeah, it's Saturday. It's Saturday. Saturday. Tomorrow.
• 21:05
Tomorrow. Tomorrow. Um, Chad is, uh, seriously thinking. And it's actually a, a relay.
• 21:14
I, of course, I gave g- uh, George shit 'cause there wasn't a relay on the, uh, trail track this year, and I'm like, "You actually expect me to ride a whole race by myself?" Yeah. Yeah. Really?
• 21:23
That was, that was the concession- What the hell?... to COVID, right? They don't do the relay. Mm. You're not, you're not all standing around next to each other. That's true. Actually, I can, I can ride anywhere.
• 21:31
I can throw the baton at the next rider. No, there was- [laughs]... there was, there was still people standing around unmasked, very COVID irresponsibly, but, um- Well, you were up north...
• 21:41
it's- You'll get that up there. Yeah. All right, then. That's what I figured, yeah. Kind of figured they're, they're all roadies, so I kind of figured they're health conscious, but I think I, I was- Nah...
• 21:49
actually probably the only one- Good one... wearing a mask in the crowd, believe it or not. Well, fat bikers are smarter than the average cyclist. That's for sure.
• 21:55
And I was only, I was also the only one drinking during the race, too. I, it's like- Is this world?... [laughs] I know they're bikers. Oh, all right. That race, that race is done. They're 100% partiers.
• 22:03
[laughs] That race is done. Yeah, it's dying out. It just made the list. Yeah. All right, Dave. Yeah, no, that was it. Thanks for the updates, dude. All right, Dan, yeah, give me a holler. We'll talk about this weekend.
• 22:14
Yeah. Yeah, absolutely. Bye. Rock on, Dave. All right. Matt. Bye. Matt. Bye. [laughs] Matt. Planning is hold next three weeks right on the radio for you folks. Yeah, give me a call.
• 22:28
We'll call here, do that, and do this and that. [laughs] No, right on. I'm glad Dave called, otherwise- Thanks for being our guest, Sam- Yeah... so we could coordinate that date with you and Dave. Right?
• 22:37
[laughs] You know? We can do this every time. [laughs] Yeah, for sure. Well, we'll at least get a report from Sh- from, uh, Silver Lake then. And saves me a fill. Saves me a dime. I'm hopeful.
• 22:46
I did, I did do Silver Lake about two weeks ago. It was excellent. It was before the snow hit, though. Wow. I have heard since that it is excellent since the snow hit as well. Are they grooming it that still?
• 22:59
To be honest, I'm not sure what they're doing. Right. Uh-huh. Well, I guess I have to find out. Well, you'll know a guy. Well, there's a lot, there's a lot of exploring to be had. You know our Saturday guy.
• 23:06
I told my guy at the bottom of the hill. You yell to Saturday guy. That's how I find him. You know- I got a guy, I got a guy... a guy. [laughs] That was, that, there, there- It really is as simple as that...
• 23:13
[laughs] I think the race that you were with on, on my team, I think that's when it was super slippery- Yeah... at the bottom of that hill. Oh, yeah. It was a total yard sale. Is that what it was? Oh, yeah.
• 23:21
Yeah, that was brutal. A little muddy- Yeah... at the top of that. It was just a gravel pit... what are we doing to ourselves here? Yeah. Yeah, it was, that was fun. Had a good time.
• 23:30
So besides the, uh, Snow Crown stuff coming up, there's not really a Bike Across Bago, but we talked about it last week. Yep, yep. Looking like February 13th if it's- If it happens... if the conditions are right.
• 23:42
Well- That might be something to look at. I got, uh, I got, uh, Jim's bike over there, getting all stud tired it up just in case. Jim Jim? Ooh. How's he doing? Jim was in the star being, Jim had- Fantastic...
• 23:54
Jim had a, Jim had a bad crash and was in the hospital- Mm-hmm... for quite a while, if you remember. Uh- Yeah, we talked about it-... dear, dear listener... a few months ago. Yeah, uh, great guy.
• 24:03
Uh, but yeah, Jim is, uh, he's back at work now actually this week full time, so there you go. Good. And, um- Sam wants to ride a wheelie all the way across it, and as crazy as that sounds, he could probably do it.
• 24:15
Let's check that out. [laughs] If it's the Sam I think you're talking about- Sam it, man... I have zero doubts. Sam it zero pounds. Yep. You guys have seen Sam. I mean, that wheelie is so impressive.
• 24:24
He's- Fat bike bomb... and it, it seems effortless, but I, he works it. You can just watch him. It's just like, dude. Got that feather brake action, just like... He, you know what we should do if we can, if that happens?
• 24:36
We're getting Aristotle to come too because- Hmm... he lives, like, eight minutes away Oh, sure. Yeah, yeah, yeah So there's a guy- Dueling, dueling wheelies... dueling wheelies.
• 24:47
That sounds like a good plan And Sam said he wanted to meet us anyway, so- John Wells is a good wheelie guy Those guys are, that's- Anyone know John Wells? Yeah, for sure That guy can wheelie an endo all day.
• 24:56
Uh, what do, what do you call when you ride an endo up and down the ramp? Um, a cool- He'll, he'll do that A genius [laughs] Yeah. He'll do that. I- is- he literally will do that He's the fixie rider, right?
• 25:07
I've met him a couple of times He worked for Suntour for a while or- Yeah, he was their, like, road rep... had the big truck, you know? Hmm. Maybe. Right. I don't know who that is Lives out in Cudahy.
• 25:20
I helped him lock down a house out in Cudahy a couple years back Nice. So when, uh, Dan started that text thing earlier, it reminded me that fat bikes are kind of in short supply, so I brought that.
• 25:32
I got a large Slick Tatanka I'm working on putting together [laughs] Yeah, that's a beauty I also have a couple of Wyatts ready to go if people- Yeah... you know what? Some, it's like- I would really like it...
• 25:42
uh, it's gonna be hard to get fat bikes this year. Okay, well, let's, let's put some together Let's get some fat bikes together Right? I'm not even sure- You want us to ship them to Anchorage?
• 25:49
We can do that I don't know how much that would cost. Shipbikes.com, folks- Yeah, it's, I-... they're a sponsor of the show. Uh, give them a look-see on how much would it cost to get a bike to Anchorage. I don't know.
• 26:00
Fed- If FedEx goes there, they'll send a bike there Yeah, they'll send a bike there. They go there every day I'm betting it's pretty spendy, but whatever. You know what?
• 26:07
If they can't get a bike in Anchorage and you want one and you got a couple of bucks, 'cause don't they get, like, free money from the oil people? Yeah All right, there you go. Yeah. That'll pay for your shipping.
• 26:16
Don't worry about it. Yeah. Plus, they're getting free money from the government right now. Yeah. Yeah. I think my free money might be starting again [laughs] I'm not sure.
• 26:27
I'm pretty sure I got mine, but- Yeah, yeah, yeah. So that's- I'll have to take a look...
• 26:30
that's, that's enough for some, you know, tires for your fat bike or something I'm not certain if I get one because I'm only fostering Daniel now, or if I have to wait until he's full on mine Huh. Yeah.
• 26:41
Well, you, you [laughs] got me all these kids. I need some more monies. Well, I mean, I, so even if I get any money from him, it's [laughs] gonna cost me more to have him.
• 26:50
I mean, he's, he's- You should just give him the money- He's a bebe... 'cause it's really his He really spends that money fast. He's a bebe He's a handful, I'm sure Oh, goddamn.
• 26:59
