- 0:00Speaker 1: Mark on demand by setting a preset for his podcast
- 0:04Speaker 1: on the iHeartRadio app.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Now back to Mark Simon on woor.
- 0:11Speaker 1: Hey, let's take some calls. Let's go to Jacob and
- 0:14Speaker 1: Queen's Jacob. How you doing?
- 0:17Speaker 3: Hey, good Morney, how are you good? I every time
- 0:21Speaker 3: I moved in New York City, every apartment I got,
- 0:23Speaker 3: I got like he's in five and ten voter stuff
- 0:27Speaker 3: for the people who used to live there. This year
- 0:29Speaker 3: they made a change, but they put.
- 0:31Speaker 2: A barcode on it. So it used to be if let's.
- 0:32Speaker 3: Say someone wants to vote on someone else's name when
- 0:35Speaker 3: he used to be the paper map, that you would
- 0:36Speaker 3: come there and they would they would look up your
- 0:40Speaker 3: name in a book. You know, you have to rememorize
- 0:42Speaker 3: the name now as the barcode, So they send out
- 0:44Speaker 3: before election. They actually send up this booklet with a barcode,
- 0:48Speaker 3: and you come there and they scan it and write
- 0:50Speaker 3: away the name and the address all populated. So you
- 0:52Speaker 3: have now a situation where we have millions of these
- 0:56Speaker 3: booklets being mailed there before elections, and the people don't
- 0:59Speaker 3: even there, and anybody can just go with all these
- 1:02Speaker 3: bookloaks and vote. You don't even need to memorize the
- 1:04Speaker 3: name or anything.
- 1:05Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I know. We have the world's sloppiest devoting
- 1:08Speaker 1: system here in New York City, deliberately for a lot
- 1:10Speaker 1: of reasons. It allows for a lot of shenanigans to
- 1:13Speaker 1: go on. Let's go to Mike and Saint James. Mike,
- 1:16Speaker 1: how you doing good?
- 1:18Speaker 2: Walk? Are you? Uh? When they want to terminate a
- 1:21Speaker 2: late night comedian host, don't they have to worry about
- 1:25Speaker 2: paying him full length of his contract?
- 1:29Speaker 1: Yeah, but the Kimmel's contract is just about up. They
- 1:32Speaker 1: did this with Colbert. His contract still goes till May,
- 1:35Speaker 1: so you got to pay off the last year. But
- 1:37Speaker 1: they don't mind doing that. You can pay him off.
- 1:40Speaker 1: But if he's causing you problems, if he's costing you
- 1:43Speaker 1: trouble with the FCC, if he's causing you trouble with sponsors, boycotts,
- 1:48Speaker 1: it's worth paying the guy off. Look at Megan Kelly.
- 1:50Speaker 1: How many times has she been paid off to leave early?
- 1:53Speaker 1: I think she's made a total of thirty millions getting
- 1:55Speaker 1: paid off by various networks to leave. It's a good
- 1:59Speaker 1: business to be getting paid to leave. Let's go to
- 2:02Speaker 1: Mike in Florida. Mike, how you doing.
- 2:04Speaker 2: Good morning, Mark. Yes, Mike, isn't it a little bit
- 2:08Speaker 2: ironic that Jeffrey Epstein was a resident of the Virgin Islands.
- 2:13Speaker 1: Uh, well, he had an island that he bought somewhere,
- 2:16Speaker 1: And you've got to be really a bad guy if
- 2:19Speaker 1: you need to do it on an island, a private island.
- 2:22Speaker 2: So, you know, I wanted to say that I have
- 2:25Speaker 2: a friend and I hear pundits say that, you know,
- 2:27Speaker 2: why does Trump have to fight these personal battles, you know,
- 2:31Speaker 2: with Jimmy Kimmel or Montana whoever. And it's like, because
- 2:34Speaker 2: he's the only one who does it. His party doesn't
- 2:36Speaker 2: defend him the way the Democrat parties would defend any
- 2:40Speaker 2: Democrat Dopey Jasmine Crockett, you know the one, you know,
- 2:44Speaker 2: the ya you know. So it's like he's a it's
- 2:47Speaker 2: a one man war against his vast machine.
- 2:51Speaker 1: Uh yeah, now that's a good question. People ask all
- 2:53Speaker 1: the time, why does he just lets go? They would
- 2:55Speaker 1: like every president to act like George W. Bush, who
- 2:57Speaker 1: was the same problem. The media went after him, fake news,
- 3:01Speaker 1: they hated him, and he was always very dignified and
- 3:04Speaker 1: formal and didn't respond. Yeah, wait to get him exactly,
- 3:08Speaker 1: so thanks for calling. You know, I don't know. Most
- 3:13Speaker 1: of us can't behave like Trump. You just wouldn't do it.
- 3:15Speaker 1: It's too much. Who could who has the energy or
- 3:18Speaker 1: the thick skin to beat be like him all day
- 3:20Speaker 1: and night. But that's the way he is. And again
- 3:23Speaker 1: it was George W. Bush. And every comedian's attacking you,
- 3:26Speaker 1: and they're calling you dumb, and they're calling you a
- 3:28Speaker 1: war criminal. You know, you just act dignified, very polite,
- 3:33Speaker 1: very formal. But that's not Trump. Trump believes punchback. Every
- 3:36Speaker 1: time anybody comes out, you just punch whatever they do,
- 3:39Speaker 1: punch back twice as hard. Do it constantly. Seems like
- 3:43Speaker 1: a lot of effort and energy, and it seems to us,
- 3:47Speaker 1: like you said, who could behave like that? But but
- 3:50Speaker 1: look at Trump. The guy goes into real estate, becomes
- 3:52Speaker 1: the most famous real estate developer in the world. He's
- 3:56Speaker 1: a total amateur. When he goes into television, two minutes later,
- 3:59Speaker 1: he's got the number one show in television. He's a
- 4:02Speaker 1: total amateur. Goes into politics. How many times you've seen
- 4:05Speaker 1: an amateur try to run for governor, try to run
- 4:09Speaker 1: for mayor, or try to run for congress. Total amateur.
- 4:12Speaker 1: They don't usually get anywhere. Trump total amateur. First time
- 4:15Speaker 1: he runs, He's president of the United States. Just like
- 4:17Speaker 1: that gets real. So and look at go back to
- 4:22Speaker 1: last year. The guy's indicted in four different cities, he's
- 4:25Speaker 1: convicted of six thousand felonies, he's shot at, and despite
- 4:30Speaker 1: all that, he wins again he's president. So that whole
- 4:34Speaker 1: Trump method, that hold Trump behavior. Obviously it works. Obviously
- 4:39Speaker 1: you got to have the talent for it and the
- 4:41Speaker 1: thick skin for it. But he's made it work. Hey,
- 4:43Speaker 1: when we come back, the great economist Steve Moore will
- 4:46Speaker 1: give us the truth about the affordability crisis and all that,
- 4:50Speaker 1: and about Mom Donnie and his way of trying to
- 4:55Speaker 1: fix the affordability crisis how bad it is. We'll get
- 4:58Speaker 1: to that next on seven to ten w Owar
