- 0:11[SPEAKER_00]: Get on over to milehighhuddle.com to sound off on all things Broncos.
- 0:18[SPEAKER_01]: Welcome in, welcome in, this Tuesday evening.
- 0:23[SPEAKER_01]: Hopefully we get our Facebook folks to hear from you.
- 0:24[SPEAKER_01]: You're welcome, soon.
- 0:26[SPEAKER_01]: I am Nick Kendall joined by Carl Dumbler.
- 0:28[SPEAKER_01]: Carl, it's good to see you.
- 0:29[SPEAKER_01]: Sorry, I'm a few minutes late.
- 0:30[SPEAKER_01]: I did the thing where I opened up my computer.
- 0:32[SPEAKER_01]: I was on not long ago, and it said, oh, automatic update.
- 0:36[SPEAKER_01]: And it's said 100% for like five minutes.
- 0:37[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm texting Scott because I don't want to waste Scott's time.
- 0:40[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to waste your time, but we're here.
- 0:42[SPEAKER_01]: Hopefully, now we get to waste everybody's time for the next 50 minutes.
- 0:46[SPEAKER_01]: How are you doing?
- 0:47[SPEAKER_01]: I'm good.
- 0:48[SPEAKER_02]: I've only had that happen one time where it was like big time.
- 0:52[SPEAKER_02]: It was right before church started and our church computer was like, oh, update time.
- 0:58[SPEAKER_02]: And then it was up on the screen and everybody's watching the progression bar go.
- 1:03[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm like, okay, we're going to mix up our schedule here and thanks for putting up with us today.
- 1:10[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I understand.
- 1:12[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and right now my
- 1:15[SPEAKER_01]: camera that I use, it says it's updating and installing as well.
- 1:18[SPEAKER_01]: So if there's any issues in my camera as we're going, it's hopefully it's fine.
- 1:22[SPEAKER_01]: Next I know it's going to do this.
- 1:24[SPEAKER_01]: There are pets heads are falling off.
- 1:26[SPEAKER_01]: No, we're doing okay.
- 1:27[SPEAKER_01]: Um, a quarterbacks ankles are breaking.
- 1:30[SPEAKER_01]: Let's go on on.
- 1:31[SPEAKER_01]: Um, but yeah, it's a place where the beer flows like one.
- 1:34[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, well,
- 1:35[SPEAKER_01]: There are worse things, but let's say a lot of folks coming in here has a chat to Scott and the background for working everything.
- 1:43[SPEAKER_01]: I guess I've even before we say a lot of folks, how did you enjoy the Super Bowl?
- 1:46[SPEAKER_01]: Carl, how was your weekend?
- 1:47[SPEAKER_01]: What's new?
- 1:49[SPEAKER_01]: It was good.
- 1:50[SPEAKER_02]: My wife left for training for the military for a month.
- 1:55[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm doing the single-dad thing.
- 1:57[SPEAKER_02]: And so the kids and I watch Super Bowl together.
- 1:59[SPEAKER_02]: My youngest son,
- 2:03[SPEAKER_02]: pretty much in the first two minutes of the game he goes, can I go to the neighbor's house and play with them?
- 2:08[SPEAKER_02]: And I was like, yeah, that's fine.
- 2:09[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, he's nine years old.
- 2:12[SPEAKER_02]: He's not interested in either of the teams, whatever.
- 2:14[SPEAKER_01]: I was locked in at nine, but I mean, we're talking football, like, called a giant nerd.
- 2:20[SPEAKER_02]: So, yeah, that's true.
- 2:22[SPEAKER_02]: He's not quite there yet.
- 2:23[SPEAKER_02]: And so my daughter and I, we had a good time watching it.
- 2:26[SPEAKER_02]: And she, she's my kid that has like 1,000 questions.
- 2:30[SPEAKER_02]: So every game she's like asking, why did they do this?
- 2:32[SPEAKER_02]: Why didn't they do that?
- 2:33[SPEAKER_02]: Why you know, and and it's one of those, I'm trying to remind myself like this is really cool that my daughter has the same interest as me that she's excited about football.
- 2:43[SPEAKER_02]: And she might ask the same question a thousand times, but I want to answer it every single time for her.
- 2:49[SPEAKER_02]: So no, it was fun.
- 2:51[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, it wasn't, it was a boring game.
- 2:53[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I mean, okay, it was if you like defense, it was a good game.
- 2:59[SPEAKER_02]: I know you like defense and special teams.
- 3:03[SPEAKER_02]: I will die on the hill that the kicker should have been in the MVP, but probably or Hall, but or with a screen, but yeah, I mean, I get it.
- 3:12[SPEAKER_02]: They got to give to an offensive guy.
- 3:13[SPEAKER_02]: They all get a right usually goes.
- 3:15[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 3:16[SPEAKER_02]: So no, I was happy for Sam Donald.
- 3:23[SPEAKER_02]: And I remember pound on the table, like, say I'm don't know, that's the guy, that's the guy.
- 3:27[SPEAKER_02]: Hey, we've never tried man.
- 3:29[SPEAKER_02]: I know.
- 3:30[SPEAKER_02]: I know that's what kills me, but at the same time, I'm not sure that we would have had the team much better than what the jet's had to build around him.
- 3:39[SPEAKER_02]: It was not a great structure.
- 3:41[SPEAKER_02]: And we've seen more and more.
- 3:42[SPEAKER_02]: How important it is to have that structure around a quarterback.
- 3:45[SPEAKER_02]: We're going to talk about that today.
- 3:46[SPEAKER_02]: If you can get a good structure around a quarterback, a good coaching staff, all those things, they can usually bind a lot of success.
- 3:54[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, absolutely.
- 3:55[SPEAKER_01]: Well, we got our guy, Papa Bear coming in here as my cat makes an appearance in the background.
- 3:59[SPEAKER_01]: Dogs locked out right now.
- 4:00[SPEAKER_01]: There was dinner being served downstairs.
- 4:01[SPEAKER_01]: So he doesn't want anything to do with me.
- 4:03[SPEAKER_01]: But Papa Bear does.
- 4:04[SPEAKER_01]: It's just good evening, Broncos Country.
- 4:06[SPEAKER_01]: $2, thank you so much.
- 4:08[SPEAKER_01]: Also, a member, hope you're doing well.
- 4:09[SPEAKER_01]: Hope you're having a good Tuesday.
- 4:11[SPEAKER_01]: Just a reminder, Valentine's Day, guys.
- 4:13[SPEAKER_01]: This weekend, I think the Super Bowl is on Valentine's Day next year.
- 4:18[SPEAKER_01]: Cool, so it is.
- 4:19[SPEAKER_01]: Uh-oh.
- 4:21[UNKNOWN]: Hi.
- 4:22[SPEAKER_01]: The one positive is that the following day is President's day, which I think they should just automatic win for whoever's president, executive order, like I know, don't talk politics, but like this is so obvious, like move President's day to the day after the Super Bowl.
- 4:37[SPEAKER_01]: a doi like this.
- 4:38[SPEAKER_01]: I know what this like symbolic with like birthdays, but it doesn't actually I don't think it actually falls.
- 4:43[SPEAKER_01]: That can't because it's always on a Monday.
- 4:44[SPEAKER_01]: So like just move it to the Monday after the frickin Super Bowl forever.
- 4:48[SPEAKER_01]: Um, when most called out day of the year, uh, but, uh, you know, good to see you pop a bear and yeah, I was pretty, I actually, I actually did call it on Monday because I was battling a GI illness.
- 4:58[SPEAKER_01]: I'm a little bit rusty.
- 4:59[SPEAKER_01]: This is my first show since last Wednesday.
- 5:02[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, so my birthday on Friday and then Monday,
- 5:06[SPEAKER_01]: I would have had to be off camera every, so men, it's running to the bathroom behind me out there.
- 5:10[SPEAKER_01]: So not happening.
- 5:12[SPEAKER_01]: That was not a party, but somebody is here to party.
- 5:14[SPEAKER_01]: MBLX test prep says he's here to party.
- 5:17[SPEAKER_01]: He's here for the offseason coverage.
- 5:18[SPEAKER_01]: Of course, everybody's here now and really exciting offseason stuff.
- 5:23[SPEAKER_01]: Now, the Broncos don't have like, you know, a top 10 pick in an incredible draft, but
- 5:28[SPEAKER_01]: And they didn't win the Super Bowl, which obviously would have been better, but this is like really fun parts of team building right now that they're obviously it's like a lot of fun if you're like completely tear it down with a lot of picks and like build it back up, but like we're on the
- 5:42[SPEAKER_01]: It's positive and negative.
- 5:43[SPEAKER_01]: I guess we're on the fun part of team building right now.
- 5:46[SPEAKER_01]: I do think this version of the roster and the core might be sunsetting after next season.
- 5:53[SPEAKER_01]: I think there's going to be a good bit of turnover after this year.
- 6:04[SPEAKER_01]: maybe some of the defense as well.
- 6:06[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, Lord knows about like there's some young players too, but you never know what the peak is especially with defensive guys.
- 6:11[SPEAKER_01]: So I imagine there'll be some massive changes coming up here.
- 6:16[SPEAKER_01]: The roster structure will change because bonus will be a eligible for extension.
- 6:19[SPEAKER_01]: But we're like in a fun aggressive year, two years right now before the Broncos have to reinvent themselves.
- 6:26[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm here to party as well.
- 6:27[SPEAKER_01]: Just as everybody else is here in the
- 6:32[SPEAKER_02]: Move it on because I was looking, I was looking at the the 2027 free agents.
- 6:38[SPEAKER_02]: You got been powers.
- 6:40[SPEAKER_02]: But we got to expect that one Brandon Jones is another one.
- 6:43[SPEAKER_02]: It's trying to think of a contract is moveable and contract.
- 6:49[SPEAKER_01]: Maglinti's contract is movable.
- 6:51[SPEAKER_01]: Sutton right.
- 6:52[SPEAKER_01]: Both is contracts are movable.
- 6:54[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 6:54[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 6:54[SPEAKER_01]: So I mean, you're right.
- 6:55[SPEAKER_01]: There's quite a few guys that you can move a contract also.
- 6:58[SPEAKER_01]: That's another DJ Jones.
- 7:00[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 7:01[SPEAKER_02]: But at the same time, I do love the Broncos have richest owners in the NFL.
- 7:06[SPEAKER_02]: So they can do a lot of things, cap-wise, to kind of keep this roster turning in a good direction.
- 7:11[SPEAKER_02]: They've been hit and missed a little bit I'd say with free agency.
- 7:14[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, this last free agency period, you had Ufanga worked out pretty darn well for you.
- 7:21[SPEAKER_02]: I would say JK Dobbins was a plus player for you.
- 7:25[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, he did give you 11 games and was a big part of why the team was able to start 8 and 2 because Bonix was not looking good during that stretch.
- 7:34[SPEAKER_02]: Now, so I think you can count him as a positive on the other end.
- 7:38[SPEAKER_02]: You got Greenlaw and Ingram who were not anything great by any means.
- 7:44[SPEAKER_02]: And so I'd say it's it was a 50 50, which is probably about what you hope for that about half of your guys actually hit and turn into something pretty decent for you.
- 7:54[SPEAKER_02]: And then draft wise we're going to have to wait and see I mean I'm never going to judge a draft class by how they did their rookie season.
- 8:01[SPEAKER_02]: I'm hoping more second third year now I'm very interested how they're going to use Baron this next year.
- 8:09[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, if you keep all three of your corners that were starters this last year, I don't know exactly what you're going to do with Baron, but you got to do more because he could turn into a really good player, but you could also then have some bad process by not taking advantage of his rookie contract.
- 8:26[SPEAKER_02]: And that would be a problem.
- 8:27[SPEAKER_01]: Shame, shame, shame, pain problems, but a problem, all the same.
- 8:32[SPEAKER_01]: We got Shannon Mills coming in here, 1999 Super Chat.
- 8:35[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you so much Shannon.
- 8:36[SPEAKER_01]: Always love this orange coming in her flash, and it was always good to see your smile and face as well.
- 8:41[SPEAKER_01]: Says, good evening.
- 8:42[SPEAKER_01]: Definitely think the Broncos offensive line would have done better against the sea chickens.
- 8:45[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, well, next time looking forward to free agency in the draft.
- 8:49[SPEAKER_01]: and also offseason trades potentially for the Broncos just tossing it in there.
- 8:53[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, I agree with you.
- 8:54[SPEAKER_01]: The Patriots, I mean, I feel bad for Will Campbell.
- 8:59[SPEAKER_01]: Also, like I don't understand how Jared Wilson, their center is avoiding any negative talks.
- 9:03[SPEAKER_01]: I guess it's because Will Campbell got the number four overall pick and plays up tackle.
- 9:08[SPEAKER_01]: Like Jared Wilson was freaking horrible in the playoffs as
- 9:16[SPEAKER_01]: and then Campbell gave up the most pressures of any offensive linemen in the entire season in the Super Bowl.
- 9:21[SPEAKER_01]: Get ready to learn guard.
- 9:23[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe center.
- 9:24[SPEAKER_01]: How bad Jared Campbell was.
- 9:25[SPEAKER_01]: Not not the ROI you want for the fourth overall pick.
- 9:29[SPEAKER_01]: He'd have to become like to get good ROI.
- 9:32[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's the second time I've seen this.
- 9:33[SPEAKER_01]: I've been in Grant and budget mode here for my work, but to get good ROI and we'll Campbell at this point, he like needs to be if he's going to play
- 9:46[SPEAKER_01]: a good usage of the fourth overall pick.
- 9:48[SPEAKER_01]: It's one reason that like, positional value, it matters less the further you get from the top, but from the top, matter, you gotta hit on the pick, but like, it needs, it probably needs to be a position of value.
- 10:00[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I do wonder a little bit his knee injury because he wasn't playing that bad earlier in the season.
- 10:06[SPEAKER_02]: How much that factored in?
- 10:08[SPEAKER_02]: I'm with you, he probably showed that he shouldn't be playing
- 10:12[SPEAKER_02]: tackle, but I'm not sure guard's going to do much better for him because part of his problem was he was just getting overpowered.
- 10:19[SPEAKER_02]: And you're going to get bigger stronger guys on the interior.
- 10:22[SPEAKER_02]: It might be.
- 10:25[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
- 10:26[SPEAKER_02]: And like you said then, you're looking at that going, even if he, I guess if you become tall of fame, it's worth it.
- 10:31[SPEAKER_02]: But even there, a
- 10:39[SPEAKER_01]: The art, again, like the amount of money you're getting back and saving, like it's a tool to use that rookie contract to get savings.
- 10:46[SPEAKER_01]: And you could have taken Tedaroa McMillan or a past rusher or something.
- 10:51[SPEAKER_01]: I know they had to fix their offensive line.
- 10:53[SPEAKER_01]: It's really important to build on the offensive line, but you have other avenues as well.
- 10:59[SPEAKER_01]: So, I don't know.
- 11:01[SPEAKER_01]: I think you're still going to be a fine player, but you know what's extra fine.
- 11:05[SPEAKER_01]: Get out of the way, everybody.
- 11:06[SPEAKER_01]: The Anna Henry coming in $50 big time, really big generous super chat.
- 11:12[SPEAKER_01]: Happy Valentine's Day to us.
- 11:14[SPEAKER_01]: Says, hello everyone, off season.
- 11:16[SPEAKER_01]: I'm hoping for a healthy, wide receiver one, running back one in tight end, and someone for a center to make it competitive and also have depth.
- 11:23[SPEAKER_01]: Can't wait for the draft.
- 11:24[SPEAKER_01]: Who do you think we will trade?
- 11:26[SPEAKER_01]: Hope all, hope everyone's having a great evening.
- 11:28[SPEAKER_01]: Well, it's certainly better now, Diana, my God, that.
- 11:33[SPEAKER_01]: Bless you, bless you.
- 11:34[SPEAKER_01]: This is a, that's beyond generous.
- 11:36[SPEAKER_01]: So thank you so much.
- 11:37[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, you want to weapon at every single spot.
- 11:40[SPEAKER_01]: That would be great for the Broncos, even if they walk away with two of these.
- 11:44[SPEAKER_01]: I would be pretty happy with she did just list tight end not tight end one.
- 11:48[SPEAKER_01]: So I think that is a little bit more doable.
- 11:51[SPEAKER_01]: The wide receiver one is going to be a harder.
- 11:55[SPEAKER_01]: Needle to thread if you will just because there's only so many avenues available and you're picking 30 in the draft not 10 in the draft so it's it's going to be harder, but there's tends to be why receiver ones available every single
- 12:12[SPEAKER_01]: off season maybe two out of every three that you can go make a move for now sometimes questions, but there is talent available.
- 12:17[SPEAKER_01]: I'm we saw the Rams get Adams granted.
- 12:20[SPEAKER_01]: He's one B to Puka, but like he's he'd been great here.
- 12:24[SPEAKER_01]: You saw obviously Pickman's get moved with some baggage.
- 12:28[SPEAKER_01]: There's going to be avenues for the Broncos to explore.
- 12:30[SPEAKER_01]: And we talked about it at the top of the show.
- 12:31[SPEAKER_01]: Dianna, if you're listening, Dianna, if you're listening, feels like this version of the Broncos might be sunset in after 26.
- 12:37[SPEAKER_01]: So I love those draft picks.
- 12:40[SPEAKER_01]: Like that's the wife blood of a team.
- 12:42[SPEAKER_01]: But you also have to understand like where you are as a team and your window is right now.
- 12:47[SPEAKER_01]: So if they can go out for a wide receiver, want to give up 30 and a future to or something.
- 12:53[SPEAKER_01]: Sure.
- 12:54[SPEAKER_01]: You got to take advantage of your window and if that pushing your chips to the table, Sean Payton style, absolutely.
- 13:00[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I could see this being an offseason where they say Peyton, go like, fun Peyton.
- 13:07[SPEAKER_02]: Sorry, I should, I should not want to clarify it.
- 13:10[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, George Peyton, he is more the conservative, let's,
- 13:14[SPEAKER_02]: Prayed for the future sometimes let's keep trading back.
- 13:17[SPEAKER_02]: Let's get enough Don't wait for Russell Wilson.
- 13:20[SPEAKER_01]: He didn't.
- 13:22[SPEAKER_02]: And so I mean, I don't think he fully took everything that he learned from Minnesota and said, Hey, let's do that now in Denver.
- 13:29[SPEAKER_02]: He is willing to be a little bit more aggressive so that that's great to see.
- 13:33[SPEAKER_02]: But I think this is that offseason where you say, okay, Sean, Paiden, what do you need?
- 13:36[SPEAKER_02]: What is it gonna take for us to get that next level to the Super Bowl?
- 13:40[SPEAKER_02]: Because I mean, and really, I mean, it bonex is healthy.
- 13:44[SPEAKER_02]: You're in the Super Bowl most likely.
- 13:46[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, that's how much of a difference there was between quarterback one, quarterback two.
- 13:51[SPEAKER_02]: And...
- 13:52[SPEAKER_02]: So it really isn't even like you have to add a ton to this roster, but if you can, go add a wide receiver one.
- 13:59[SPEAKER_02]: And like I said, there's going to be some players available.
- 14:01[SPEAKER_02]: I know AJ Brown's names been thrown out there.
- 14:05[SPEAKER_02]: Pickins, I don't know what the cowboys are going to do with him.
- 14:09[SPEAKER_02]: It's going to be an interesting conversation for them because they already paid lamb huge money at the whiter sea position.
- 14:16[SPEAKER_02]: When they made that trade, it was kind of like, okay, I can't see how you're going to pay both of these guys topped here money for the whiter sea reposition.
- 14:23[SPEAKER_02]: Since an alley, I guess kind of did it, but not to that degree that pickens is going to be demanding.
- 14:28[SPEAKER_02]: Now, are the Broncos willing to go and pay that kind of money?
- 14:31[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
- 14:33[SPEAKER_01]: Well, he's going to take a first round pick.
- 14:36[SPEAKER_01]: And that's true.
- 14:36[SPEAKER_02]: That's true.
- 14:38[SPEAKER_02]: And we've talked about a lot of before on the show.
- 14:40[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, you can go out there.
- 14:42[SPEAKER_02]: There's some avenues to for sure improve that wider silver room running back.
- 14:47[SPEAKER_02]: I'd probably lean towards free agency more than the draft.
- 14:49[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, you can still go draft a guy.
- 14:51[SPEAKER_02]: I just wouldn't use a top two round pick on running back in this draft.
- 14:56[SPEAKER_02]: Last year, yes.
- 14:57[SPEAKER_02]: This year, no.
- 14:59[SPEAKER_02]: And there's going to be some good names out there.
- 15:02[SPEAKER_02]: Breeze Hall, I know Walker possibly could be leaving Seattle.
- 15:06[SPEAKER_02]: They have a lot of cap space.
- 15:07[SPEAKER_02]: I'm guessing that they'll probably get him signed.
- 15:09[SPEAKER_01]: But they're going to have to sign.
- 15:11[SPEAKER_01]: I think they haven't signed him yet, but Cross is coming up here very soon.
- 15:16[SPEAKER_01]: Whether spoon is coming up here very soon.
- 15:17[SPEAKER_01]: I think Jackson Smith and Jigba is due for a contract as well.
- 15:21[SPEAKER_01]: Is there easier three this year, right?
- 15:23[SPEAKER_01]: This was his third year.
- 15:24[SPEAKER_01]: So he's due for a, he's due for an extension as well.
- 15:29[SPEAKER_01]: could be now granted, you know, you can manipulate the cap of some of those extensions and but still we'll see.
- 15:35[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, are we going to want to pay a running back?
- 15:38[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 15:39[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 15:40[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not sure Walker would be my top choice of running back and I know he just had that great Super Bowl.
- 15:46[SPEAKER_02]: But I also want to be able to look at his entire career so far in the NFL and be able to see that there's been some up and down for him so far.
- 15:54[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, injuries have really zapped him and it's not like serious injuries, but it's nagging injuries that keep having a miss some time out of games.
- 16:04[SPEAKER_02]: And so part of me is sitting there saying if we're just going to go get a running back that you have to worry is going to miss some games most years.
- 16:11[SPEAKER_02]: go sign JK Dobbins for a cheaper contract.
- 16:14[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, if that's, if that's the direction you're going to go.
- 16:17[SPEAKER_02]: But, like I said, ETN, Breeze Hall is going to be out there.
- 16:20[SPEAKER_02]: There's going to be a couple other running backs that are probably going to be cut.
- 16:23[SPEAKER_01]: Turn out as you're.
- 16:25[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, turn out as you're.
- 16:25[SPEAKER_02]: So there's some really nice options tied in.
- 16:29[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
- 16:29[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I'm kind of torn on this.
- 16:31[SPEAKER_02]: I know in Joku put out their yesterday that he's not coming back to Cleveland, but they're again, another injury guy getting up their an age, not what he was before.
- 16:41[SPEAKER_02]: I'm interested to see what kind of contract he's going to get.
- 16:44[SPEAKER_02]: You've got gotter to his probably leaving.
- 16:46[SPEAKER_02]: Billy, that would probably my top choice at the tide in position, but he's going to get a decent contract.
- 16:51[SPEAKER_02]: got Kate Otten with the Tampa Bay that's going to be hitting free agency most likely.
- 16:57[SPEAKER_02]: So there's some options out there for you to really improve this team and get the weapon re up there.
- 17:03[SPEAKER_02]: And like I said, I think you only got to get two of the three.
- 17:06[SPEAKER_02]: Because if you get running back and tied in, figured out, you can live with Sutton and Franklin and Mims and Bryant at the Widersever position.
- 17:16[SPEAKER_02]: If you've got these other two weapons that are taking some pressure off the wider seabers.
- 17:20[SPEAKER_02]: If you go get wider seabers, maybe you don't have to get tied in one to get it all figured out.
- 17:26[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, there's a difference between filling the position versus filling like the team building roll.
- 17:31[SPEAKER_01]: If that makes sense, like this team, and we got we're going to talk about it here.
- 17:34[SPEAKER_01]: Lessons of Broncos come learn from the sea oxupable when it wasn't really apparent.
- 17:38[SPEAKER_01]: In the Super Bowl, but like to get to the point where they were this season, they needed somebody who they could really lean on on this team.
- 17:45[SPEAKER_01]: And they had the veteran presence Cooper Cup.
- 17:47[SPEAKER_01]: He's good.
- 17:48[SPEAKER_01]: And obviously Kenneth Walker up and down really was, you know, carried the load after his ex-harbony went down and explosive playmaker.
- 17:55[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, he's not this player, but his like stylistically running.
- 18:00[SPEAKER_01]: He's like the I feel like calling like, be John Robinson like the coke to
- 18:07[SPEAKER_01]: Kenneth Walker being Diet Coke is not drastic enough in some of the difference between the two, but like running style like, B. John is like such a better blocker in past catcher and better run our two, but like the ability to press the whole and like move as a runner.
- 18:20[SPEAKER_01]: Stylistically, I think is somewhat similar.
- 18:23[SPEAKER_01]: And I'd be interested in my biggest issue is that he's not a good past protector and Harvey,
- 18:27[SPEAKER_01]: glances from Harvey, but I don't think we're quite there yet.
- 18:31[SPEAKER_01]: That would be my biggest.
- 18:31[SPEAKER_01]: I know everybody's going to, you know, talk about his running style and being more efficient there this offseason, rightfully so, but like if I pulled Harvey aside, I'm like, listen, I don't know if you're ever going to be like incredible between the tackles, but like the way you will catch the football and like are still big and tough to come down.
- 18:45[SPEAKER_01]: Like, if you can figure out how to block,
- 18:48[SPEAKER_01]: you're going to play this league for a decade buddy like you're going to be you're going to make some money if you work on your past prediction uh so especially as a one beat i mean that's second contract might be better and then if you figure out between front of between the tackles but uh we'll see how it plays out thank you again lady d for the big super chat and yeah we really do appreciate that we'll see what the Broncos do um
- 19:09[SPEAKER_01]: I would be, especially now it's happened with the falcons.
- 19:13[SPEAKER_01]: New roster there, they kind of burnt a first round pick.
- 19:15[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe with James Pierce, we'll see what happens.
- 19:18[SPEAKER_01]: But hey, be John, hey, Drake London, what do you want?
- 19:22[SPEAKER_01]: Third, you over all in a two and it's more on.
- 19:25[SPEAKER_01]: He want those picks, baby.
- 19:26[SPEAKER_01]: Let's do it.
- 19:27[SPEAKER_01]: I watch a lot of Falcons though, so I have those some bias.
- 19:29[SPEAKER_01]: Those guys are good.
- 19:31[SPEAKER_01]: Also, good.
- 19:31[SPEAKER_01]: Michael Rankio, coming in here.
- 19:32[SPEAKER_01]: My wish list is trade for a wide receiver, signing running back Breeze Hall.
- 19:36[SPEAKER_01]: He's definitely would be a good one.
- 19:38[SPEAKER_01]: Sign lineback in a Kobe Dean after willing to play for the Broncos defense.
- 19:42[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'm, I think this is an okay list.
- 19:45[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you for the super chat.
- 19:46[SPEAKER_01]: I have with you with Breeze Hall dependent on medical's trading for a wide receiver or
- 19:50[SPEAKER_01]: Taking one of the talented ones and the draft for the cost control aspect.
- 19:54[SPEAKER_01]: It's always an option.
- 19:55[SPEAKER_01]: There's going to be a lot of white receivers taken on the top 60 this year.
- 20:00[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not as totally in love with the Kobe Dean personally.
- 20:03[SPEAKER_01]: I think he's like a fine player, but I don't I think and I know he's a good leader.
- 20:07[SPEAKER_01]: Like you love that dude, but he's smaller.
- 20:09[SPEAKER_01]: I think they kind of maximized what he was in Philly and they played a defense that really protected him from contact there that four, three with a lot of mass in front of them and he's going to have to be able to scrape.
- 20:21[SPEAKER_01]: a lot more in the Broncos 3-4.
- 20:25[SPEAKER_01]: And I just don't know, I don't know if I want that personally.
- 20:29[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not as, there's other linebackers who interest me a lot more of non-Akobi Dean if he takes like a second-tier contract?
- 20:37[SPEAKER_01]: Sure, maybe.
- 20:38[SPEAKER_01]: But I think he probably, I get through five guys before I get to Neko-Bee Dean.
- 20:43[SPEAKER_01]: The here, let me put it this way.
- 20:44[SPEAKER_01]: I think I'd rather I bring back Justin's
- 20:49[SPEAKER_02]: I've kind of been leaning that way quite a bit, honestly.
- 20:53[SPEAKER_02]: I like to turn out enough, and then with this being a good line-backer class, I think you can go get a guy in the first two days of the draft, and
- 21:03[SPEAKER_02]: them learn for a year, you know, I'm not saying cut green law right now, but have that guy learned for a year and then have that be the green law replacement after this season and I can feel pretty good about that.
- 21:14[SPEAKER_02]: Because then you've got at least a guy that you're building, but also could step in if somebody gets hurt.
- 21:19[SPEAKER_02]: You've got Strenaud who's been a really good leader on this team has played well, knows this defense probably better than almost anybody else on this team right now.
- 21:27[SPEAKER_02]: and could most likely be the green dot guy for you, moving forward, and give him that starting spot.
- 21:34[SPEAKER_02]: And I don't think he's going to cost a ton either.
- 21:37[SPEAKER_02]: You know, I know I've seen some people connecting the dots to me and Broncos and Devon Lloyd.
- 21:42[SPEAKER_02]: I think PFF put out or something.
- 21:44[SPEAKER_02]: I think it was PFF put out their connection dots and everything and they said, Broncos are going to sign Devon Lloyd.
- 21:50[SPEAKER_02]: That man's going to want 20 million plus.
- 21:53[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not paying that.
- 21:55[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 21:56[SPEAKER_01]: Again, I just keep coming back to these anti-falkans, but why don't we pair Cade Nellus, who is the person they literally compared drafting, oh my gosh, Drew Sanders too, like the post day two press conference, like we really loved Cade Nellus in New Orleans, and we picture Drew Sanders being this type of Blitz weapon.
- 22:14[SPEAKER_01]: Well, he's free agent.
- 22:15[SPEAKER_01]: He's from Salt Lake City, his brother plays here.
- 22:19[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, there's staff that knows him.
- 22:22[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know what his path is gonna be our front line of let's walk or who knows,
- 22:26[SPEAKER_01]: that one makes sense to me.
- 22:28[SPEAKER_01]: And we'll see about Lloyd, I also really think, I imagine he's gonna end up going to Buffalo because of his connection with,
- 22:37[SPEAKER_01]: Man, I'm really struggling with names right now off the podcast for a week and I can't remember anything I didn't learn but Leo Chanel also is like an absolute freaking unit now He's not gonna bring you help him like coverage But he is so strong as a blitzer and in the A gap through this he gap.
- 22:54[SPEAKER_01]: I mean he would be phenomenal to add just a physical presence to the defense, so
- 23:00[SPEAKER_01]: I thought the chiefs made a mistake last year playing Bolton with Chanel coming up here, but we'll see a lot of options and we'll see how the Broncos played.
- 23:09[SPEAKER_01]: I do want to say a lot of more people shout out to you guys.
- 23:11[SPEAKER_01]: Chase Wollner in the house, go Carl and Nick, great to see you.
- 23:14[SPEAKER_01]: We got Daniel Barry Sports Happy Tuesday, good to see, appreciate you.
- 23:19[SPEAKER_01]: Glenn coming in says, good morning, everybody, good morning for you, Glenn.
- 23:24[SPEAKER_01]: Carl, my son Jackson is just like that.
- 23:26[SPEAKER_01]: He's sixth learning the game well.
- 23:28[SPEAKER_01]: He can't play it here in Australia as a child either.
- 23:30[SPEAKER_01]: We'll get him into a punting academy because goodness gracious.
- 23:33[SPEAKER_01]: It's some crazy amount of punters in the US are Australian because of the AFL.
- 23:37[SPEAKER_01]: See, I know some things.
- 23:38[SPEAKER_01]: I will always bring in those guys.
- 23:40[SPEAKER_01]: Roy, good to see you.
- 23:41[SPEAKER_01]: Roy, I don't want to share too much.
- 23:43[SPEAKER_01]: Roy had a car accident here.
- 23:44[SPEAKER_01]: Some are recently, so hope you're doing well, Roy.
- 23:46[SPEAKER_01]: And yeah, thank you for coming in and saying hello.
- 23:50[SPEAKER_01]: He says, it needs from your running back tight end.
- 23:52[SPEAKER_01]: Your key departures, as far as positions go, you're running back tight end linebacker.
- 23:56[SPEAKER_01]: You're going to have to make a move at those spots.
- 23:59[SPEAKER_01]: After that, interior defense of lines a little murkier with Jones and Wozarekay, following JFM departing.
- 24:06[SPEAKER_01]: And we'll see about some of these cuts as well.
- 24:08[SPEAKER_01]: Ingram changes the math potentially.
- 24:11[SPEAKER_01]: You also have brain and Jones could change the math, mentioned earlier, powers.
- 24:16[SPEAKER_01]: Also, somebody contract is,
- 24:19[SPEAKER_01]: It's fun to build the right word.
- 24:20[SPEAKER_01]: Might be, we'll just gonna go with it.
- 24:22[SPEAKER_01]: But good to see you, Roy, yeah, running back tight end.
- 24:24[SPEAKER_01]: They need just some more playmakers they need to keep investing in the trenches.
- 24:28[SPEAKER_01]: Germaine from 315 says, hello everyone, go Broncos, go you.
- 24:32[SPEAKER_01]: Appreciate you, Paul's in the house.
- 24:34[SPEAKER_01]: Hello, hello, Dominique.
- 24:35[SPEAKER_01]: Nick and Carl, what's up?
- 24:36[SPEAKER_01]: Miles, I salute to my Broncos family.
- 24:38[SPEAKER_01]: Go Broncos, appreciate you.
- 24:40[SPEAKER_01]: Hope you're doing well.
- 24:42[SPEAKER_01]: I saw that our guy,
- 24:44[SPEAKER_01]: D-Money, David Youngkin is back home, finally.
- 24:47[SPEAKER_01]: David's at a really rough.
- 24:50[SPEAKER_01]: putting it like, oh, I don't want to undersell it, but it'll really hard time with the health issues here.
- 24:54[SPEAKER_01]: So happy your home, David, and appreciate you.
- 24:57[SPEAKER_01]: Every time you come in here and say hello, I'm always, I worry about you, David, so good to see you in here, always welcome.
- 25:04[SPEAKER_01]: And if you never, never need anything, shout out.
- 25:06[SPEAKER_01]: Jordan Lewis, evening, everybody, Clayton's here.
- 25:09[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, hey, hey, Tyler Brooks, we got the formula basically, we just got the health nap at the end of the year.
- 25:14[SPEAKER_01]: Drew, like our chances versus the sea chickens, full health.
- 25:22[SPEAKER_01]: And it's kind of comes back to what Sean Payton talked about in the post game that post season press conference.
- 25:28[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if they had enough avenues to create offense to deal with what the Seahawks could do defensively and I think the biggest issue was the Seahawks the way they play and everybody's going to try to replicate it, but it's like you can't replicate unless you have the people they play two high safety shells.
- 25:45[SPEAKER_01]: but they are eight deep along the defense and they have banches in the back seven.
- 25:50[SPEAKER_01]: And reality is the only way you can beat those teams is good pass protection with some intermediate over the middle routes and a good run game.
- 25:59[SPEAKER_01]: Two things the Broncos struggled with this season.
- 26:03[SPEAKER_01]: They don't really have the personnel to go 12, 21, with the blockers to make the C-Ox be punished for those lighter boxes.
- 26:13[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if it was our show Carl or the show with Eric, but like I thought the C-Ox were a terrible matchup.
- 26:19[SPEAKER_01]: They're terrible matchup.
- 26:20[SPEAKER_01]: Everybody's offense, but like the Broncos specifically, like the one thing they Broncos had is they had good pass protection and they weren't going to take the sex as much, but like could the Broncos run the ball consistently this year?
- 26:30[SPEAKER_01]: No.
- 26:31[SPEAKER_01]: Were they really that good and they intermediate over the middle of the field pass game?
- 26:36[SPEAKER_01]: Not really.
- 26:37[SPEAKER_01]: Could they get into 12, 21 personnel, that consistently?
- 26:41[SPEAKER_01]: No, so I mean, you never know, right?
- 26:44[SPEAKER_01]: I just, I think the ox were a bad match.
- 26:46[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not same-darnled.
- 26:47[SPEAKER_01]: Put the ball on the plate a few times.
- 26:49[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe defense makes a play.
- 26:50[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe.
- 26:52[SPEAKER_01]: C ox also goes underrated.
- 26:53[SPEAKER_01]: They were one of the top three special teams teams in football this season too.
- 26:56[SPEAKER_02]: So, I think, I think, one, it depended a little bit on Dobbins if he was back and what kind of level he could play at.
- 27:05[SPEAKER_02]: So if you had him and had any kind of level of run game,
- 27:08[SPEAKER_02]: then yes, maybe you'd be able to run some of that play action.
- 27:11[SPEAKER_02]: I do think there were times where the Seahawks got very, very aggressive.
- 27:17[SPEAKER_02]: And like I said, the Broncos kind of blocked it up.
- 27:20[SPEAKER_02]: There were some plays there.
- 27:21[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, let's just say Drake, it wasn't that the Seahawks had a great defense.
- 27:27[SPEAKER_02]: Don't get me wrong.
- 27:29[SPEAKER_02]: But there were plays to be had and Drake made missed a lot of rows in that game.
- 27:34[SPEAKER_02]: And really, the entire playoffs, he missed so many throws.
- 27:38[SPEAKER_02]: He was dead.
- 27:40[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, the level of defense that they played went up, compared to what they played mostly in the regular season.
- 27:45[SPEAKER_02]: But at the same time, he just, he kind of bleeped the bed a little bit on some of those things.
- 27:52[SPEAKER_02]: And so I think maybe their bonus could have hit a couple of them there.
- 27:55[SPEAKER_02]: And then also, bonus is like,
- 27:58[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, that's always going to be a huge ex-factor in those kind of games where Drake may have a couple really nice runs.
- 28:04[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 28:04[SPEAKER_02]: Now, Seahawks closed in quickly on his head.
- 28:06[SPEAKER_01]: I was going to say, the ban sheet part comes in here.
- 28:09[SPEAKER_01]: That would scare me.
- 28:11[SPEAKER_01]: But it's a Super Bowl.
- 28:12[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 28:13[SPEAKER_01]: At that point, you got to go for it.
- 28:15[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 28:15[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 28:16[SPEAKER_02]: So I think they could have maybe had a few things like that go their way and, like I said, the block of defense, if they could have had a nice turnover game like the bills game, then you're in it.
- 28:25[SPEAKER_02]: Then you're right there.
- 28:28[SPEAKER_02]: they pretty much kind of got to that idea.
- 28:30[SPEAKER_02]: Our defense is so good.
- 28:32[SPEAKER_02]: We don't have to take as many risks on offense and it was true.
- 28:39[SPEAKER_02]: So I mean, they could just go down and kick some field goals and feel good about it.
- 28:43[SPEAKER_02]: Broncos, like I said, if they could have gotten a couple of plays, just to go their way, I think it would have been a better game.
- 28:49[SPEAKER_02]: I do.
- 28:49[SPEAKER_02]: I think the Broncos, if Bonix's healthy, are a better team than the Patriots, especially with the way the Drake may was playing in the playoffs.
- 28:57[SPEAKER_02]: Bonix was not playing that way.
- 28:58[SPEAKER_02]: He was playing lights out like you look at that bill's game.
- 29:01[SPEAKER_02]: Man, he had some darts in that game that just you're sitting there going, okay, our defense isn't doing great, but man, Bonix, looking like
- 29:10[SPEAKER_01]: Drake may in the regular season is as what he was looking like there in the post season yeah I will say to be somewhat fair to Drake may he did still have that great regular season now MVP Stafford wanted it probably shouldn't have been as close as it was and as much as Drake may regressed in the playoffs I would argue the offensive line regressed more but that's true you know there
- 29:38[SPEAKER_01]: It's football everything is interconnected and there isn't it's very hard to isolate the variable we try to do that as best we can but the reality is you are.
- 29:49[SPEAKER_01]: projecting, you have your own inherent biases.
- 29:51[SPEAKER_01]: When you want to, you don't have all the information, you just do the best you can from where you're at.
- 29:55[SPEAKER_01]: So it's hard to do.
- 29:57[SPEAKER_01]: And then there's the aspect of the play calls, as well, it's not just the talent.
- 30:00[SPEAKER_01]: You gotta go out there and execute.
- 30:01[SPEAKER_01]: And you gotta hope that they're calling the right things.
- 30:03[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, it was a beat down by the seahawks.
- 30:07[SPEAKER_01]: And honestly, this is, I think I've said it on this show before.
- 30:11[SPEAKER_01]: And like, I feel like I'm talking out of both sides of my mouth here, Carl.
- 30:19[SPEAKER_01]: There's no doubt, and they're going to have the ability to, like, especially running back.
- 30:23[SPEAKER_01]: That was, like, taken the ball away.
- 30:25[SPEAKER_01]: Why does he stop dropping passes, running the ball better?
- 30:29[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like those were the big three, Sean Peyton, and the the year takeaways.
- 30:33[SPEAKER_01]: If I had the coach, turn over as I guess we'll just see.
- 30:37[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I hope you for a little bit of a bounce back year to year.
- 30:40[SPEAKER_01]: They're running game aspect, big.
- 30:43[SPEAKER_01]: And I think Denver's
- 30:45[SPEAKER_01]: got a lot of avenues to improve that.
- 30:47[SPEAKER_01]: This offseason with cash.
- 30:49[SPEAKER_01]: There's an opportunity here.
- 30:50[SPEAKER_01]: The advanced at Save the Running Offensive Line is, I don't know if they're top.
- 30:56[SPEAKER_01]: five, but I think they're top 12 run blocking unit and you add in a better running, I mean, we saw what they were doing with JK Dobbins, right?
- 31:05[SPEAKER_01]: Like, they were doing really good.
- 31:08[SPEAKER_01]: So, I think there's a good opportunity here.
- 31:10[SPEAKER_01]: Denver has the ability to pay somebody.
- 31:11[SPEAKER_01]: We can, we're talking about it in this short-term window.
- 31:14[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not typically a pay running back, but like when you're in this window, get somebody here for a three-year contract that's essentially
- 31:26[SPEAKER_01]: So, I think, again, talking about both sides of the mouth, you have to improve the offensive weaponry.
- 31:31[SPEAKER_01]: But the reality is, as much as we talk about football and all these different aspects, at the end of the day, it comes down to the bleeping lines of scrimmage.
- 31:39[SPEAKER_01]: And I know everybody, this fantasy football talk and the explosive plays and everything.
- 31:43[SPEAKER_01]: Jason, not a big factor in this one.
- 31:45[SPEAKER_01]: They probably don't get there without him, but like, the obvious strength of this team,
- 31:51[SPEAKER_01]: was there ability to get home with four, and dominate on the lines of skirmish.
- 31:55[SPEAKER_01]: So for the Broncos, I know, adding offensive weapons to improve the offensive past catchers, but run game two is paramount.
- 32:03[SPEAKER_01]: As important, I'm gonna bang this one.
- 32:06[SPEAKER_01]: People with this account don't care.
- 32:07[SPEAKER_01]: As important is maintaining trend superiority.
- 32:12[SPEAKER_01]: More so on the defensive line, but also offensive line, but like,
- 32:15[SPEAKER_01]: You can never have enough quality defensive linemen.
- 32:18[SPEAKER_01]: See, Hawks were eight deep.
- 32:19[SPEAKER_01]: Broncos Super Bowl on running 20th, 2015.
- 32:20[SPEAKER_01]: The Eagles last season.
- 32:24[SPEAKER_01]: I honestly think like at this point, kind of where we're at with quarterback play, the quarterback's a single position, so it's more valuable, but as a unit, it might be going to like, 15 years ago college football, where it's like, who has the most talent across the defensive line in football?
- 32:39[SPEAKER_01]: That's the team that's gonna be holding up the hardware at the end of the season, period.
- 32:45[SPEAKER_02]: that.
- 32:45[SPEAKER_02]: I'm with you there.
- 32:47[SPEAKER_02]: I do think the nice thing for the defensive line is there is multiple ways to build that.
- 32:54[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, offensive line.
- 32:55[SPEAKER_02]: It is very hard, at least for tackle.
- 32:58[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, to build it outside the draft.
- 33:01[SPEAKER_02]: You know, I know we got McLinci and he's playing playing great, but getting a guy like bulls and it took years before we really saw the the fruits of that.
- 33:09[SPEAKER_02]: And he looks at the sea hocks, you know, they wouldn't, yeah, they they drafted Zable.
- 33:14[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, he's not a tackle, but
- 33:16[SPEAKER_02]: invested in the offensive line there.
- 33:18[SPEAKER_02]: Byron Murphy was there number one pick in 2024.
- 33:21[SPEAKER_02]: Charles Cross.
- 33:22[SPEAKER_01]: You got.
- 33:22[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but they're doing with the two Broncos first champ picks and dare call also a Bronco pick.
- 33:27[SPEAKER_01]: That's what I'm sold in the moon, but they really hit on those picks that they got from the Broncos.
- 33:31[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 33:32[SPEAKER_02]: And then Abraham Lucas there in the third.
- 33:33[SPEAKER_02]: So they, they invested big on the offensive line.
- 33:38[SPEAKER_02]: And so that's, that's, that's something the Broncos need to continue to think about.
- 33:43[SPEAKER_02]: I know most people would be not would not be very happy of the Broncos talking off as a tackle that didn't play this next year, but you got to keep thinking of your investment bonus and and making sure I mean, we just saw little Campbell.
- 33:57[SPEAKER_02]: pretty much destroy a Drake May in those playoffs.
- 33:59[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, he lost a lot of confidence because he was just getting hit a lot.
- 34:02[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, any quarterback out there, you keep getting hit over and over and over again, especially from your blind side.
- 34:07[SPEAKER_02]: It's hard to trust your clock.
- 34:09[SPEAKER_02]: You're, you know, your inner clock that's telling you, you got to get rid of the football speeds up.
- 34:13[SPEAKER_02]: And there were some of those throws that he was a little bit more rushed than he needed to be, probably because he was just feeling the pressure.
- 34:20[SPEAKER_02]: And so I don't mind if the Broncos go ahead and take that kind of investment because at some point probably by even next year, you're looking at either bowls or McLenshee are maybe even both possibly being gone.
- 34:32[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, I know people don't want to think about this, but bowls he's getting up there a little bit in age and he's played a lot of football.
- 34:42[SPEAKER_02]: It wouldn't surprise me if Broncos go out there and let's say we win the Super Bowl.
- 34:47[SPEAKER_02]: We're garables like, you know what?
- 34:48[SPEAKER_02]: Have accomplished everything I've won to accomplish.
- 34:50[SPEAKER_02]: I've got all the money I could ever need for my family.
- 34:53[SPEAKER_02]: One is super bullet.
- 34:54[SPEAKER_02]: It's just time for me to go and enjoy life.
- 34:56[SPEAKER_02]: I can see that from him.
- 34:57[SPEAKER_02]: He's a big family man sometimes that happens.
- 35:01[SPEAKER_02]: And like I said, defensive line, I would love for the Broncos continued at that unit.
- 35:06[SPEAKER_02]: I know we've got some really good players there and Zach Allen and I mean, DJ Jones is there.
- 35:17[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, DJ Jones, I don't know how much longer.
- 35:19[SPEAKER_02]: He's going to be here.
- 35:19[SPEAKER_01]: He said he was Rika next year.
- 35:22[SPEAKER_01]: A was Rika one year left.
- 35:24[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 35:25[SPEAKER_02]: So you've got to start thinking about turning in some new town there as well.
- 35:29[SPEAKER_02]: And this isn't the best.
- 35:35[SPEAKER_02]: It's a really weird interior deep into blind class, I would say.
- 35:39[SPEAKER_02]: You got some really, really good nose tackles that you could get in there going to be great and run support and offer at least a little bit something
- 35:47[SPEAKER_02]: You're probably not looking at the JFM types, the three to five texts, you're probably not finding those kinds of guys as much in this draft.
- 35:56[SPEAKER_02]: I did see it was a Daniel Jeremiah.
- 36:00[SPEAKER_02]: I think was the one who had a stake in Peter Woods from Clemson in the first.
- 36:07[SPEAKER_02]: I could probably get on board with that.
- 36:09[SPEAKER_02]: He offers a little bit both and run and pass support.
- 36:11[SPEAKER_02]: So I like to say, I don't mind that one bit.
- 36:14[SPEAKER_02]: I think that's where you keep trying to add to those groups.
- 36:17[SPEAKER_02]: Like I said, build those trenches, keep them strong.
- 36:20[SPEAKER_02]: If you've got a chance for a weapon, go get them.
- 36:22[SPEAKER_02]: Don't ignore that position or those positions.
- 36:26[SPEAKER_02]: But I guess I just look at, especially like Cincinnati.
- 36:31[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, they have two great receivers, but their quarterback is injured almost every single year because their offensive line can't do jack squat.
- 36:40[SPEAKER_01]: I will push back just a little bit on that just to be annoying, but I thought the offensive, they finally have made some investments in the offensive line and they've started to, I think, reap a little bit of that this season, this the issue is a defense.
- 36:52[SPEAKER_01]: They are, they are puke poor on defense, but like amirious mums.
- 36:57[SPEAKER_01]: pretty good, and that other Kate Rattlage, I think they took at guard.
- 37:02[SPEAKER_01]: As well, I thought this last year, they started to turn it around.
- 37:05[SPEAKER_01]: It's just, you know, Joe Burrow went out, and also I don't really love the run design that they play in the Burrow offense.
- 37:11[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, as far as defensive line goes in the draft, I mean, it's probably, they might want to replace JFM in the aggregate, set it on here a few times, maybe it's a combination of Savion Jones,
- 37:24[SPEAKER_01]: I hope it's not Jackson and they're like, good, you know, an active player to have on the roster.
- 37:30[SPEAKER_01]: But be okay, if you know, you phased him out as well.
- 37:34[SPEAKER_01]: And then I was a Rika, maybe some of the bigger defenses you can do some of that.
- 37:38[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, as far as the defensive line prospects, we'll see what happens Peter Woods you mentioned.
- 37:44[SPEAKER_01]: Keldrick Falks got a little bit of that three, four body type.
- 37:48[SPEAKER_01]: He would be interesting there.
- 37:50[SPEAKER_01]: Then there's also,
- 37:51[SPEAKER_01]: Oh gosh, the mecedor from Miami who's older, but like he's ready to play now and he's got heavy hands like his bull rush is awesome.
- 38:00[SPEAKER_01]: He'd be, I think a good fit as a four-eye.
- 38:02[SPEAKER_01]: Like he's actually one of the ones that has the power and the body type to do it, healthy overton, day two, potentially as well.
- 38:10[SPEAKER_01]: And then you got a lot of like nose tackle body types, also.
- 38:14[SPEAKER_01]: So Anthony Lucas from USC, so.
- 38:17[SPEAKER_01]: We'll see.
- 38:17[SPEAKER_01]: But, again, I think you have to attack free agency, bring it in and running back one.
- 38:23[SPEAKER_01]: Denver should try to walk away with the best running back in free agency if possible.
- 38:26[SPEAKER_01]: If not, somebody was an obvious fit for early down in Innseter to Parathar J Harvey, David Montgomery, Tyler O'Jair, come to mind.
- 38:34[SPEAKER_01]: A wide-tightend, not any nope, freaking F-tightend, a wide-tightend.
- 38:39[SPEAKER_01]: Somebody who can play in line and block an influence coverage and personnel.
- 38:48[SPEAKER_01]: you pay to have an ingram, you can't functionally run the offense with two F tie-dens, especially with how teams are playing defense right now.
- 38:57[SPEAKER_01]: It's just, you're giving up such a strategic advantage by playing a tie-dend where they're like, oh, he's not a threat to block, middle finger, we're going to play a safety or a corner back against you.
- 39:09[SPEAKER_01]: Dumb.
- 39:11[SPEAKER_01]: But, again, unless they're like Brock Bower's level pass catcher
- 39:15[SPEAKER_01]: that what are they're to in the league.
- 39:18[SPEAKER_01]: That level anymore.
- 39:18[SPEAKER_01]: Tray McBride and Brock Bowers, good luck.
- 39:21[SPEAKER_01]: Deanna, come and hit me again.
- 39:22[SPEAKER_01]: Let me get off the stocks.
- 39:23[SPEAKER_01]: Deanna, $50 a gang.
- 39:25[SPEAKER_01]: Deanna's big money spender.
- 39:27[SPEAKER_01]: If you guys can't be like Deanna, click the thumbs up like subscribe share but the $50 super chats much preferred.
- 39:32[SPEAKER_01]: Says, I really feel we need healthy beefed up players in the offensive line.
- 39:36[SPEAKER_01]: We need to protect bow after bowels.
- 39:37[SPEAKER_01]: And if you don't think we have two years, I think we don't win the superlice here.
- 39:40[SPEAKER_01]: He retires.
- 39:41[SPEAKER_01]: We do need weapons, go Broncos.
- 39:43[SPEAKER_01]: Who knows, right, I mean, that's very possible.
- 39:45[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, Garrett Bulls is at a long, successful career and he's very much involved in the philanthropy as well.
- 39:54[SPEAKER_01]: So like, there's gonna be life after football for him.
- 39:58[SPEAKER_01]: We know how those offensive linemen, it's pretty hard in their joints to play that long and he came into legal.
- 40:03[SPEAKER_01]: So, you know, that time is coming as far as the investment
- 40:09[SPEAKER_01]: for a left tackle.
- 40:10[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, if it sits you if you're sitting there at 30, which I think you're hope for a offensive tackle at 30, maybe you went out the window today, Carl, with the news of the Rams, right tackle retiring.
- 40:22[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if you saw that they pick at 20 down the Broncos pick at 30.
- 40:25[SPEAKER_01]: Yep.
- 40:25[SPEAKER_01]: If there's an offensive tackle worth pick 30, it's probably going at pick 29.
- 40:30[SPEAKER_01]: But, but both, uh, a guard tackle though would be a good option, just for flexibility for the team.
- 40:38[SPEAKER_02]: Right, I mean, if it's coming down to that, where you see that you've got one more guy that has a first round grade that's not a tackle, I'm willing to trade up ahead of the ramps.
- 40:47[SPEAKER_01]: You would trade up for a player who wouldn't play when you're in a super bowl window right now.
- 40:55[SPEAKER_02]: For that valuable of a position, what I know I've got two guys that could be leaving in the next year or two, it would be, I guess it depends who else is still on the board for me.
- 41:07[SPEAKER_02]: Again, there's some other guys that I like that are day one impact guys that I think can go help me win a Super Bowl, then yeah, I probably do lean that way and say we'll figure out another way to fix our offensive tackle position and and maybe maybe we're underestimating Frank Crum.
- 41:26[SPEAKER_01]: Not a lot of tackle.
- 41:28[SPEAKER_02]: I'm just saying I mean he did come in for a few steps at left tackle this year, you know, when Garrett bulls went down for just a second and he didn't look completely lost there.
- 41:37[SPEAKER_02]: It wasn't.
- 41:38[SPEAKER_02]: It wasn't perfect by any means, but he wasn't completely lost either.
- 41:41[SPEAKER_02]: So maybe that's the direction I don't know.
- 41:44[SPEAKER_02]: I'm just.
- 41:46[SPEAKER_02]: I'm just throwing other ideas out there of how the Broncos could justify in their heads, hey, we can pass on this for now and maybe solve that problem later down the road.
- 41:56[SPEAKER_02]: You're right, Diana.
- 41:57[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, if you can do as much as possible, keep this offensive line strong.
- 42:02[SPEAKER_02]: Bonix has had a strong offensive line, you know, they're at Oregon.
- 42:07[SPEAKER_02]: They did a great job protecting him.
- 42:08[SPEAKER_02]: Now, he did a great job getting the ball up quick and protecting himself, and he's done the same thing here in Denver.
- 42:14[SPEAKER_02]: There's a lot of plays with offensive line is great.
- 42:17[SPEAKER_02]: When there are some breakdowns, Bonix can do enough to escape and still keep it a positive play for you.
- 42:22[SPEAKER_02]: And that's what you love.
- 42:23[SPEAKER_02]: There's a complimentary football that's going on there.
- 42:26[SPEAKER_02]: And you don't want all of sudden get where he's going to be running for his life because you're caught off guard because now all of sudden both tackles are gone, bin powers is gone, you're going, oh crap, now we've got to fix 60% of our offensive line and Wattenberg is contract is kind of weird.
- 42:45[SPEAKER_02]: It's a terrain clue.
- 42:46[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, so so he'll be here, but you probably aren't going to shy away from
- 42:55[SPEAKER_02]: if you find a guy that you're going, okay, yep, that fits perfect for us, then you go for it.
- 43:00[SPEAKER_02]: So I have no problem with the Broncos use even a day one or day two pick on the offensive line this year.
- 43:09[SPEAKER_01]: You should be looking every year for those, I do think the defensive line is probably slightly more important just because there's more avenues to blame time, like you can be and should be
- 43:24[SPEAKER_01]: where offensive linemen that'd be great but you're not going to get as much return because there's just you're not rotating offensive linemen but that's probably my biggest takeaway a couple other big takeaways we can already talked about it some but the c-hawks were in their ability to also get pressure with only four they have size and physicality and tackling from their backs
- 43:50[SPEAKER_01]: It's something that Broncos didn't have now.
- 43:51[SPEAKER_01]: I know that you saw some from the linebackers this season, everyone's normal hafanga as well.
- 43:56[SPEAKER_01]: They didn't really have, I think, McMillan, like, you look at the advanced stats, McMillan was probably one of the weaker links of the back seven, still like, you know, we had some of the turnovers and that's something that Broncos really act.
- 44:06[SPEAKER_01]: So again, talking about both sides of the math.
- 44:08[SPEAKER_01]: I got to create some turnovers, but McMillan, I think, is a little bit covered up by hafanga sometimes, and you lose a little bit of the
- 44:15[SPEAKER_01]: explosiveness and how you can manipulate past protection rules and get after the quarterback because he just does not have the physicality and the ability to close space as some of those actual chess piece physical athletes at the nickel spot.
- 44:30[SPEAKER_01]: So that's a big one.
- 44:31[SPEAKER_01]: The final one, Carl here.
- 44:33[SPEAKER_01]: We mentioned special teams already always expose but finding explosive plays on offense and to that point,
- 44:41[SPEAKER_01]: C-Ox did something pretty awesome this season, I don't know how I'm friends with C-Ox fans.
- 44:45[SPEAKER_01]: I watch a good Seattle football.
- 44:47[SPEAKER_01]: They reinvented themselves a bit this season offensively.
- 44:50[SPEAKER_01]: There's like two different versions of the C-Ox to either early season, very heavy 12 personnel, bombs away, get the ball to JSN down the field.
- 44:58[SPEAKER_01]: But then like the last six weeks, it became that became a little bit more inconsistent.
- 45:02[SPEAKER_01]: Darnled started to look a little bit more like turnover darnled and it became a much better run team.
- 45:07[SPEAKER_01]: So being able to reinvent yourself.
- 45:09[SPEAKER_01]: within the marathon that is the season while still figuring out ways to create explosive plays on offense.
- 45:13[SPEAKER_01]: That's like the backbone of it, but in season reinventing yourself to still get those explosives.
- 45:21[SPEAKER_01]: Awesome.
- 45:22[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I think and we've talked about a little bit with the run game.
- 45:27[SPEAKER_02]: The Broncos being able to prove that they can win multiple ways on offense.
- 45:31[SPEAKER_02]: where let's say the past game isn't quite on.
- 45:34[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, we still got the run game that you can lean into.
- 45:36[SPEAKER_02]: Like the C-Ox had where I think you could see, Patriots were in many ways trying to sell out to stop the past, you know, when you've got Jason out there you're trying to do a lot to keep him contained and Cooper Cup as well.
- 45:49[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, he's still a plus player at this time in his career.
- 45:53[SPEAKER_02]: And AJ Barron, you should actually wipe it in.
- 45:56[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, Shaheed as well being out there.
- 45:58[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, that guy's got some incredible speed.
- 46:01[SPEAKER_02]: And so it allowed you some avenues for the run game.
- 46:04[SPEAKER_02]: Now Walker as well, there are some plays that he just made by himself that he was caught in the backfield boom made a cut, turned it into a really great play for them.
- 46:16[SPEAKER_02]: And that's where having a running back.
- 46:17[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, JK Dobbins was doing that earlier in the year for us too.
- 46:20[SPEAKER_02]: where you just a lot of times in the run game, a running back has to make one guy miss.
- 46:25[SPEAKER_02]: You can't block everybody.
- 46:27[SPEAKER_02]: There's always going to be a negative number out there because you've got your quarterback that's not out there usually blocking for you.
- 46:34[SPEAKER_02]: You don't usually want your quarterback blocking.
- 46:36[SPEAKER_02]: So it's kind of nine on 11, since the running back's running with the football.
- 46:41[SPEAKER_02]: And so yeah, you're going to have to make somebody miss and
- 46:45[SPEAKER_02]: getting that kind of play, whether it's Breeze Hall, like that's who I would go for.
- 46:49[SPEAKER_02]: I think he would be a perfect fit in the system.
- 46:51[SPEAKER_02]: I think he would thrive John Payton because he's a plus and both the past and the run game.
- 46:58[SPEAKER_02]: And I think that's part of why I lean against Walker.
- 47:02[SPEAKER_02]: He's not a plus player in the past game.
- 47:04[SPEAKER_02]: Either blocking or catching.
- 47:06[SPEAKER_02]: we saw it in the super roll.
- 47:07[SPEAKER_02]: He dropped a couple there.
- 47:09[SPEAKER_02]: And so I'd try to kind of lean just a little bit away from him.
- 47:14[SPEAKER_02]: Now if we go sign him, I get it because what he does great, he does incredible.
- 47:21[SPEAKER_02]: And it's something that we're missing there with that consistent explosive run game.
- 47:26[SPEAKER_02]: But like I said, being able to be multiple on offense.
- 47:30[SPEAKER_02]: And let's say we get that that
- 47:36[SPEAKER_02]: because then you can actually make that work, where you've got two tight ends and go out there and help in the past game and do different things.
- 47:44[SPEAKER_02]: The problem was this year, we couldn't really do anything with the tight ends because if in-grims in the game, you know it's gonna be a pass play.
- 47:53[SPEAKER_02]: Or if he is in there for the run game, you're kind of going, okay, this is great, thank you.
- 47:58[SPEAKER_02]: You just gave us a guy that's gonna shoot through the gap and make the play in the backfield.
- 48:02[SPEAKER_02]: And so having that that tight end that can actually block that can help in the past game as well from the White Titan position that that would be a huge changer for the Broncos.
- 48:11[SPEAKER_01]: They need to be two way players at the white right end, like you build the wide receiver core maybe a little bit more role specific.
- 48:19[SPEAKER_01]: don't, yeah, I don't think it was just angles.
- 48:22[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, which is the run blocking.
- 48:23[SPEAKER_01]: Like in manipulating defense and personnel, like we know we're exposed to plays or more like could happen if it's single high safety and heavy personnel.
- 48:30[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, have to force defenses to do that.
- 48:32[SPEAKER_01]: So, and they don't do that if you're playing a tight end who blocks for bleep.
- 48:36[SPEAKER_01]: So, pretty sure everyone, I saw Pearl heaters in here too.
- 48:39[SPEAKER_01]: Todd Austin, door of one, to say hello too, we're gonna get on out of here.
- 48:42[SPEAKER_01]: I apologize if you heard some squealing laughing in the background, the baby monitor is on, but out of reach.
- 48:47[SPEAKER_01]: So hopefully you didn't hear too much or you did.
