Transcript
- 0:00Well, count me in then, bitches. All right, you come 321.
- 0:39Hamster with a blunt. Pen knife for doing quicker.
- 0:43Quicker Welcome back to a hamster with a blunt bun.
- 0:47Nail Boo. Fuck you.
- 0:51It's me, Dylan, back for more crawler lulling with my pal Joe
- 0:57Ford. Joe Ford, welcome to your own
- 0:58podcast. Oh, we ain't powers no more
- 1:01taking a piss out of me like that.
- 1:03And everyone's favorite guest, Luke Kroloy.
- 1:08Hello. ROM ROM ROM.
- 1:10In. He's he's otherwise known as ROM
- 1:13slut. ROM slut he's known as.
- 1:17So did we have a wonderful time with episode 1?
- 1:20And are we feeling like this story is going to continue to be
- 1:23a bit of a belter? 1 is great, 1 is great.
- 1:26We land on a, on a, on a dangerous world.
- 1:29Like an actually dangerous world.
- 1:32Yeah, I mean the the the environment itself is quite
- 1:34dangerous. Slip and break your neck.
- 1:36That's what sticks in your head is that you need a hovercraft to
- 1:39get around safely. How often, how often do we go
- 1:43out on location and it actually feels like another world?
- 1:48I think it's this planet of fire maybe mind warp.
- 1:52No planet fire does. What are you talking about?
- 1:56Planet fireworks. The problem is that you see the
- 1:59same place as an earth location beforehand.
- 2:02It'd be like and kill the moon if they set it the first half in
- 2:05Lanzarote and then went to the moon.
- 2:09Maybe survival as well. There's only a handful though,
- 2:11isn't there? Yeah, in the in survival and
- 2:13greatest show where they've started to paint in the sky, I
- 2:16think, you know, it feels a bit more alien manscape.
- 2:19So yeah, I'm, I'm impressed. There is actually Dylan quite
- 2:23close to me. You know, there is a sort of
- 2:25marshy booky area that looks a bit like this.
- 2:28Next time you come down, we'll go down there and we'll play
- 2:30power Crawl. All right, excellent.
- 2:32You unleash your great creature. So I know I keep going on about
- 2:37like the Bog, but but like we should go to Boggs more because.
- 2:45I have no trouble with that. We we just should they're
- 2:49they're a real like they're actually an exciting place for
- 2:53Doctor Who to go, I think. And this is the only thing still
- 2:56exist. This is this our next location.
- 2:59Can you look? Can you?
- 3:00Can you Google this during the episode?
- 3:03Let's get going and I'll, I'll, I'll find out if it still exists
- 3:06and we can all go. And I mean, I imagine you can't
- 3:09get into it if it does. We.
- 3:12Can. Yeah, exactly 4 men were found
- 3:15dead in in a marsh. I could literally get in
- 3:19anywhere anyway in 321 and we go, oh, I mean, I didn't ask the
- 3:27obvious question last time, but obviously the Tom Baker titles
- 3:30banger. Oh, Dylan, no.
- 3:34I, I have, I have problems with them, largely nostalgic problems
- 3:39that I loved the McCoy titles. And then when I first this, this
- 3:44was the first title saw sequence I saw that wasn't the McCoy
- 3:48title sequence. And I didn't know there was
- 3:49different titles, different music or different doctors at
- 3:52the time. So it was, it was quite a, quite
- 3:55a moment for me. And I just, I don't like that
- 3:57the vortex is the same shape as the logo.
- 4:00I hate the diamond logo. So I I I like the the the
- 4:04tunnel. Do you hate the diamond logo
- 4:07because of recent? Yeah.
- 4:09So no, I've always hated it. I think people like it for
- 4:12nostalgic reasons, but I think it's a terrible bit of design
- 4:14that. Looks, you know, have you
- 4:15noticed since they've started putting that diamond logo on,
- 4:18cover's a big finisher. Nothing aligns properly anymore.
- 4:22It's not a good bit of design. No, the covers look a bit wonky
- 4:25now. What about you there, Luke?
- 4:27Yeah, I like it. It's not an absolute favorite,
- 4:29but you want to sit down to watch the Tom Baker.
- 4:32You press play and it starts playing.
- 4:35It does. You do get a bit like, Oh yeah,
- 4:37yeah. Which you don't always get from
- 4:39doctor openings. No.
- 4:41Oh, sorry, I've just bewitched. So there's that bit there where
- 4:44he just pushes the reeds aside, looking very cool.
- 4:47I love him. So I mean the actual like
- 4:52creature is a bit macro, isn't it the thing that Mary times
- 4:56been? A tiny macro.
- 4:58Yeah, a little. Do you?
- 4:59Remember what the doctor says. Worry.
- 5:01Probably a little more convincing from the front.
- 5:04What the hell? Yeah, I mean, it does undermine
- 5:06Romano a bit that she's absolutely screaming at this,
- 5:09and then the camera turns out and you see what it is.
- 5:14You gotta remember that when she turned up in Rebus, she she
- 5:17wasn't used to the horrors of the universe, was she?
- 5:19She's a little bit naive. I don't know if if Lala Ward,
- 5:24she would have, you know, just kicked it in the nuts or
- 5:26something. Oh yeah, Actually, look, you've
- 5:30got a boy. You've got a boy like a big
- 5:32mushroom crab thing. It's.
- 5:34Not it's not ideal is. It he just takes that.
- 5:38He literally needs him in the balls as well.
- 5:42What actually? Going to do to her.
- 5:45Wow. I mean, Dylan, back in the day,
- 5:48you know, religions did sacrifice people for no reason
- 5:50whatsoever. Yeah.
- 5:52But I think the question is how is it going to sacrifice it?
- 5:54Because it's just doing this. It's just, yeah, it's.
- 5:59Got How do we know it was going to sacrifice, Sir?
- 6:02Maybe he was. Going to because listen this
- 6:04this is a common thing you. Think we could have got part
- 6:06time part swampy? Wow.
- 6:09What a sexy green bitch that would that would have been.
- 6:12Those green those green women in Star Trek.
- 6:15Look at that, you would not have knives being thrown about in
- 6:17Doctor Who anymore, would you? Well, I don't get anything in
- 6:20Doctor Who these days, do we? It's all woke nonsense.
- 6:23Gay romances and oh, please, of course, John.
- 6:28Look, he's still sitting at this dismal console.
- 6:32Just sit. So he's doing.
- 6:33His best, I know everybody knows this, but I think it is funny
- 6:36that they went well, we've got him under contract, we might as
- 6:38well cast. He's thinking brilliant day off.
- 6:41I have a few weeks off paid and they're like, no, you've got to,
- 6:44you've got to come in the studio and do this performance instead.
- 6:47I mean, take your smug ass commentator hat off for a
- 6:50second. Put your producer's hat on.
- 6:51If you had it now and somebody was under contract, wouldn't you
- 6:54do it? You, you wouldn't get away with
- 6:55it with equity. Equity.
- 6:58Equity, equity, equity. Have you ever met him?
- 7:02John Leeson, yeah. He's so lovely.
- 7:05He's what? I bought him a drink.
- 7:09I bought him a drink and he went.
- 7:11Thank you, master. That was our one interaction.
- 7:17He's got a scoop, He's got a scoop.
- 7:21No, no, no, no. So I met him when I was a young
- 7:23boy and he saw at the launch of Downtime at Penoxicon 1995, Luke
- 7:28and he. Signed.
- 7:29He signed my VHS of downtime, but there was a Reddit about him
- 7:33about 10 years ago, which perhaps implied that he was a
- 7:39man who saw opportunities within fandom that with younger fans.
- 7:45Not not below an age, but basically that he was a bit of a
- 7:50creep. I mean, I certainly don't
- 7:51endorse it, but it was all the rage at that time.
- 7:54It's he. Was a dog.
- 7:55That's what he's saying. No, I'm talking about recently
- 7:58like. Oh wow.
- 8:00I don't know whether it's true. The internet's full of shit.
- 8:03Should have got him another drink.
- 8:04Joe Yeah. So if you're listening John
- 8:06Leeson write in if you're a nonce.
- 8:08Yeah. Could you just confirm or deny
- 8:10the scandal? There's just been.
- 8:12I'm getting sued aren't I? By John Leeson.
- 8:15No, I don't know, it was. It was something that appeared
- 8:17on the Internet and then disappeared.
- 8:18I've not heard anything since, so perhaps it was all bollocks.
- 8:22I've I've never been, he's never been at a convention I've been
- 8:26to. He he does tell like the same
- 8:29stories. I've seen him three or four
- 8:31times. He's one of those Katie
- 8:32Manning's that just tells the same stories every time.
- 8:34But he's kind of charming and he tells funny stories about being,
- 8:37you know, the war bungle from Rainbow.
- 8:40And and he's sort of non Doctor Who stuff as well because he's
- 8:43worked around Doctor Who. But I wouldn't say, you know, Oh
- 8:48my God, I've got to go and see John Leeson.
- 8:49Well. Constituent.
- 8:50He's he's, you know, been in loads of big finished.
- 8:53He's never brought him back. His doggy?
- 8:55Nothing shocking. Oversight.
- 8:59There, it's actually the sort of thing that they would do that.
- 9:02I imagine that now, after this goes out, someone will be
- 9:06listening to you, Luke, and they'll be like, oh, and you'll
- 9:09see it a week later. What Duggeen returns?
- 9:12The weird, the weird, the weird. He's fun.
- 9:14And me would be like, Oh yeah, I've gotta get that.
- 9:17It's weird. Who else?
- 9:18Who else in the world would know what John Leeson coming back as
- 9:21Dougie would mean? I mean, what do you imagine?
- 9:24OK, we're making a joke about digging.
- 9:25What is the most obscure thing that Big Finish could bring back
- 9:30and make a splash of? Crawl a bit as crawler.
- 9:33Come on. Well, I mean why is he going to
- 9:35work on audio? You can make anything.
- 9:37Oh wait, they do. The weeping.
- 9:43Some of those are pretty good though, you know.
- 9:44I know. Yeah, actually quite a lot,
- 9:46though we've mentioned once a good.
- 9:48These weren't better. You can't see them.
- 9:51Right. Where are we?
- 9:53It doesn't look like Kroll shows up in any spin off material.
- 9:58There is a commentary here on on the false, the falsities of
- 10:04religion, because they see the holy text and the doctor
- 10:07realises, you know, it's not a real religious text.
- 10:11And what's the fella's name? Who's in charge of the swamp
- 10:15piece? I've forgotten already.
- 10:18No, he's not in charge. Oh.
- 10:21I don't know the swamp piece, John.
- 10:22John. John Abeline.
- 10:24'S character. But the idea of that crawl, I'll
- 10:31give up. No, go on, go on.
- 10:34There is an anti religion stance here.
- 10:37Yeah, I think. And I think especially when
- 10:40there is incontroversable proof that Crow is not a God and John
- 10:44Abenari is still there prostrating in front of this
- 10:47fucking limp tentacle going, oh, Crow, mighty Crow.
- 10:51And then he's murdered horribly. He's he's saying something about
- 10:55religion. It's definitely saying it is
- 10:57definitely doing that. I mean it's.
- 10:58Just not good Gender again, isn't.
- 11:00It it's just not like even bothering to go into it though,
- 11:04is it? It very much it's just a nuts
- 11:06and bolts doctor story and that is part of it rather than let's
- 11:10let's investigate this anti religious stamps.
- 11:13So now like. Being an extremist of religion
- 11:16can can take you to do crazy things.
- 11:20It's very much. It would be brought right to the
- 11:22fore, wouldn't it? Like Don Bubble or something
- 11:23like that? It would be right in your face,
- 11:25yeah. At the fore of this is just
- 11:27naked green people shout and crawl.
- 11:29No, it's a massive mother style. I mean, that was the brief,
- 11:34right? That was the brief he Robert
- 11:35Holmes got. We want the biggest monster
- 11:37we've ever had in Doctor. Who?
- 11:38And I think it's a great brief. I mean, what you're saying about
- 11:41Tom Baker on the commentary going, Oh, my brain does do
- 11:46that, but it does just just go like, whoa.
- 11:49I'll do the impression when he turns out it's just wonderful
- 11:52he. Does like we've done big
- 11:55monsters before and they've generally been shit, but I think
- 11:59OK, there's there's a fringing issue at the bottom.
- 12:01But that aside though, Dylan, that aside, it's, I mean, it's
- 12:04strong film, isn't it as well? So it it, it feels like it's it
- 12:07suits the location. I think that fringing thing is
- 12:10blowing well out of. Performance.
- 12:11Yeah, me too. When I watched it as a kid, I
- 12:13didn't, I did not have any idea. And even when I look at it now,
- 12:16I'm like, OK, I can see what you're on about, but it didn't
- 12:18Take Me Out of it at all. I bet you they'll they'll scrub
- 12:21it out though for the Blu-ray. I bet this this one will get
- 12:23there just. I get the CGI treatment all
- 12:26around. Oh yeah, you know, I know if
- 12:28they, if they CGI crawl, I'm fucking having a word.
- 12:31It's not when you did the Invisible Enemy.
- 12:32And yeah, there are shoddy bits of the Invisible Enemy, but it's
- 12:35not the fucking model work. The most effects heavy story
- 12:38this season is the Armageddon Factory.
- 12:40If anything's getting the CGI, think it'll be that it's.
- 12:43Not going to make it better though is it?
- 12:44I love the Armageddon. You leave it alone.
- 12:46I've again, I've not seen it for so many years.
- 12:49Me neither, I always stop after crawl I'm.
- 12:52Doing I got I think I stuck because canine goes and blows.
- 12:56Oh no, it goes on that conveyor belt.
- 12:57It goes into my phone. It's like Toy Story free, Yeah.
- 13:01And then and that's like Part 2. And after that I'm just like,
- 13:03what's the point? Canine's dead.
- 13:05It does contain the line. There'll be nothing left but
- 13:08slag and clinker. Like this podcast?
- 13:14Yeah. Yeah, when were the last Doctor
- 13:17Who podcast going? That's right, there'll be
- 13:19nothing left but slags. Yes, although Canine does go
- 13:24evil in the Armageddon. Fact doesn't remember at the
- 13:26end. And then and then he goes good
- 13:28again. But then he has to ham it up
- 13:30pretending to be evil. Gang the doctor and the They
- 13:34have been killed. Because the other the other bit
- 13:37remember is them endless repeating time loops of just
- 13:40like an empty room or that spaceship.
- 13:42Fire. Yeah, that is goes on forever.
- 13:45Anyway, we're going, we've got off topic because John Leeson is
- 13:48just looking at contour lines on a screen.
- 13:50Again, this is not exciting. Is.
- 13:53It whenever the plot stalls, we can always just talk about the
- 13:55rest of the season, you know? Exactly.
- 13:59What's your what's your favorite coat in the season?
- 14:02Is it this one the back and coat?
- 14:04Favorite coat? Oh, Tom Baker coat, you mean?
- 14:07Yeah, this one I don't. How do you feel about Tom's long
- 14:10coats in Santara and Experiment? I love that.
- 14:15Yeah, that's cool. But I like Matt Smiths long
- 14:18green one in closing time. Like I quite like the long
- 14:22freak. Fuck off.
- 14:24What's your favorite big giant monster you know?
- 14:28My penis. I mean, I quite like the Erato,
- 14:32the Typhonian ambassador and creature from the pier as well.
- 14:35That's not, and this is what I think Dylan was getting,
- 14:37although that's big, but it's not the giant monster and Doctor
- 14:42Who was. This does feel like a giant
- 14:43fucking monster. If you look really carefully,
- 14:47he's got like these sort of Bony things that move around his
- 14:50mouth. He's great.
- 14:51It feels building size, doesn't it?
- 14:54Yeah, And you just don't get that they.
- 14:56They failed in invasion of the dinosaurs to to to quite get
- 15:00that scale and those those monsters to look realistic in
- 15:03inverted commas. Well, and with the Scarasan, I'd
- 15:06say as well Scarasan. Scarasan.
- 15:10That's the one. Do you hear what they've done
- 15:13with that for the Blu-ray? Oh.
- 15:14They CGI. Disc no.
- 15:16They've refilmed it with modern day stop animation and then
- 15:20they're inserting that in as like a special feature.
- 15:22That that's a tester for invasion of the dinosaurs.
- 15:25That's cool because. That's the no one wants CGI
- 15:28dinosaurs but better stop motion would be an absolute win.
- 15:32They're running out. But the Scarisan is very much
- 15:35like the Marianne conspiracy isn't.
- 15:39It look out of all of us that say things wrong, it's Joe Ford
- 15:42that says things. He couldn't even say Quark
- 15:44right. Excuse me, it's my avrar who
- 15:46says everything wrong. Have you not heard on?
- 15:49I think did you start this, this like thing of people saying
- 15:52Eric's award? Yeah.
- 15:54Like, is that me? Yeah, I think that was you.
- 15:57Mikey Smith picked up on this. He was like, why is everyone
- 15:59saying Eric's award on podcast these days?
- 16:01I was like, I think it was Joe. Ford.
- 16:03All I know is yeah, is that every time Dylan says Mariah,
- 16:07Mark comes in his knickers like he just laughs his head.
- 16:10It's. Saywood rhymes with wayward
- 16:13because. That's on every on every old
- 16:15like behind the scenes documentary.
- 16:17It's Saywood. But because of you, Joe Ford,
- 16:21everyone says some word though I'm.
- 16:23Sorry, I'm so sorry people listen to this thing.
- 16:26I do apologise. So I love this bit where the
- 16:29ball the all the guns blow up in his face when he tries to take
- 16:33him out. I can't do a lot of location
- 16:36work. I love that they've covered the
- 16:38canoes in branches as well to make it look like they've been
- 16:42fashioned. I mean, they must have had the
- 16:44best time in that. He loves his fashion.
- 16:46Mode he does. So the the locations are still
- 16:51there. It's the molting Snape in
- 16:54Suffolk. Oh my God.
- 16:55I can. Cliff, sorry.
- 16:58That enormous fucking tentacle just came out.
- 17:02Whoa. OK, I'll do.
- 17:04Tom Baker. Oh, yes, yes.
- 17:08It's like he's having sex. It's great.
- 17:10Don't tell me that that looks bad.
- 17:11I think it looks. Amazing, look at his mouth.
- 17:14Oh, I'd love to get a sock job by him.
- 17:17She's amazing. Or actually, do you know what?
- 17:22Do you know what I have seen? Some porn.
- 17:24You know, of tentacles going up people.
- 17:26Well, there's a possibility, that's all.
- 17:28I'm going to say was it? Was it Boo cake?
- 17:34My education continues. If you if you really want a
- 17:39crawl sex toy, I'm sure someone could make one for you.
- 17:42Good point, Tucker, a call. Is there a crawl?
- 17:45Is there a crawl toy? No, no, they missed the boat on
- 17:48that. I think, I think because of the
- 17:51way the action figure market is anything like that, it's just
- 17:53not viable. They couldn't even sell a MEEP.
- 17:55Well, no, but they did the trashing and all of that back in
- 17:58the time. Why didn't they do?
- 17:58It then that was when those things sold by the fucking shit
- 18:01load. It could.
- 18:02Literally, you know, as the tentacles sort of go down and
- 18:04up, it could sit on its tentacles.
- 18:07It would when the Ragnos came out, that would have been the
- 18:09time because that was, that was a real big look at.
- 18:12That Crowl versus the Ragnos. Big finish.
- 18:17Now we're Dougie. Don't give them ideas.
- 18:21Please, a new badges on the 4th Doctor's coat.
- 18:24Let's go. Oh boy, oh boy.
- 18:28Anyway, did you just did you determine that the best giant
- 18:31monster is Crow? Yeah, I.
- 18:33Can't think of another one, yeah.
- 18:34Otherwise, if we're just talking slightly large, I'm a big fan of
- 18:38the girl. Do you not like that big spidery
- 18:43thing on Vortis? The animals.
- 18:47It's not a monster though, is it?
- 18:50Smell like it? Didn't try and meet anything
- 18:53enormous. Well, it says.
- 18:56Child maintenance. We couldn't.
- 18:59Say that fury from the deepest like stuff coming out the sea
- 19:02isn't it? I mean this is similar ish to
- 19:05fury from the deep but the interior sets feel quite similar
- 19:10and it's boring people on the base.
- 19:11I don't know why I'm saying that.
- 19:12I love Fury from the deep. I'm sort of trying to go through
- 19:15every doctor now. Percy, it was the dinosaurs.
- 19:18Tom Baker It was the three, wasn't it, With the.
- 19:20King Hydra Flax. He's pretty.
- 19:22Big Oh, the giant robot. What about that?
- 19:25Shit, I do Look. No, I love the giant robot.
- 19:27Oh, looks. Good until it moves.
- 19:31But like, the robot is the monster, and then it gets giant.
- 19:34Yeah. Well, especially you could say
- 19:35that about crawl, but cross big. Davidson.
- 19:38Did he have any? Any beasties apart from Janet
- 19:42Fielding? Hisses were really the magma
- 19:46beast and the garms are not that big and the merka.
- 19:49Colin. Colin, he was the beast.
- 19:55Stomach artery, all those poor pies.
- 19:58And then, of course, McCoy. Who met a giant brain?
- 20:02Oh yes, yeah. But I think when they sort of
- 20:05learned the lessons didn't they don't do.
- 20:06Oh, the merka. Of course I said the merka.
- 20:15I'm just talking to myself and having a lovely time.
- 20:18I can't even find any evidence online that anybody's made a
- 20:21custom made crawl figure. Is there any custom made
- 20:24Swampy's OH? I bet there is.
- 20:28That really hurts. I really want to crawl now.
- 20:31Yeah, well, I also want the I also want the brains and more
- 20:33for Tom as well. Again, the Keys trilogy is just
- 20:37overlooked. Mark's got this fabulous box of
- 20:40mixed Lego at his parents house. I might try and make a crow out
- 20:43of Lego and see how I do. Good luck, you need a lot of
- 20:48green. I got some time.
- 20:51I mean, again, it's like, try it off again because it's just more
- 20:54John Leeson watching contour lines.
- 20:57So it shouldn't be. Why?
- 20:57Here we go back to the telling Doctor Who to get a move on.
- 21:00Yeah, hurry up, Doctor Who. Stop dicking around with a
- 21:03giant. Squid.
- 21:04Why does he need to stop the entire universe?
- 21:07Hey. The White Guardian.
- 21:09Reese didn't he? Isn't he resetting it because?
- 21:11Resetting the balance. Evil from the dawn of time, not
- 21:15as good. As it's, yeah, it's, it's a very
- 21:19like Blase reason, isn't it? To reset the balance and he
- 21:22can't get it himself. Yeah, there is a reason for
- 21:25that. I do love the freight he gives
- 21:28to to Tom though. The white Guardian, you mean?
- 21:30Nothing will happen to me. Nothing at all, I think.
- 21:33Ever do we think? Do we think Mrs. Floods related
- 21:37to the Guardians or is she a God of Ragnarok?
- 21:40Or no, I've actually been given a spoiler this week.
- 21:43I know the big bad is of series 2 and I'm a bit disappointed if
- 21:47I'm honest. Let's do it between.
- 21:49Episodes. Well, I won't tell you.
- 21:50I won't spoil it. Luke doesn't like a spoiler.
- 21:53Well, that means it's not crawl. It's definitely not.
- 21:59If done well, it could shatter Doctor Who.
- 22:02In a really interesting. Way.
- 22:04I wouldn't mind if it was if Mrs. Phil was the White
- 22:06Guardian. Be fairly interesting.
- 22:11But apparently. Not, but I don't know what the
- 22:13guy. I wouldn't know what the context
- 22:15is of it, so I can't. Ask you guys because they're
- 22:19they're about to meet the 7th Holy deaf, right?
- 22:21And that's been strapped down on that rack and and torn apart.
- 22:25So can I ask you please, if we just go round each of us, we'll
- 22:29do one to six. Dylan, what's 1?
- 22:31One to what? What?
- 22:32Sorry. What's the first?
- 22:33What's the first holy deaf? The the First Holy Death.
- 22:37Yeah, they're about to face. Are you listening to me now?
- 22:40No, not at all. I was thinking about the Rani.
- 22:43But it was a chance for you to be, to be witty and make up
- 22:46executions. Holy death, it's gotta be to do
- 22:49with. I know, right?
- 22:52Oh, I imagine that actually I went to the Tower of London
- 22:54once, right? They had this instrument that
- 22:56you insert in the anus, right? And then you turn this thing and
- 23:00it keeps opening until it splits your anus.
- 23:03So you're bigger on the inside. I mean, I already am, but yeah.
- 23:08Right. The second holy death would be
- 23:11to sit, be tied to a chair, and watch all of Ian Levine's AI
- 23:16reconstructions on the loop. Including Alice in Wonderland.
- 23:20The third Holy Death is to be forced to endure a small list of
- 23:24podcasts. I've got just to the right of me
- 23:26here, but I'll tell you about them between recordings, Luke.
- 23:32Oh, let's see, the next day, the next part, keep, keep people
- 23:35coming back, you know? People always come back for you.
- 23:39Oh, here we go. Now look, it's like I'm just
- 23:41going to stick my little stick into this pipe.
- 23:44Oh, how interesting. Doing some work.
- 23:46No, because it's so rare for Doctor Who to do a genuine, Oh
- 23:49my God, shock moment. But when this tentacle comes
- 23:52out, it's great. I think because everything on
- 23:55this rig has been so boring up to this point, when it bursts
- 23:58out the pipe, it's like, yes, now we're talking.
- 24:01Could you imagine the poor actor getting ready for this?
- 24:03Right? We're just going to wrap the
- 24:03tentacle around you now, right? OK, sort of struggle a little
- 24:07bit, but not too much to remember.
- 24:08The pipes made out of polystyrene I think.
- 24:13If Crawl did come back and you know it generates methane where
- 24:18RTD would just have been fighting everywhere, wouldn't
- 24:21it? It'd be a big fight they
- 24:22shouldn't have. Crawl in the fucking space,
- 24:24babies. So what's he doing?
- 24:27He's he's crapping. And then they're sending the
- 24:29craps off to Delta Magna. Is that right?
- 24:32Well, he's farting. Yeah, but what are they saying
- 24:34the methane they're. Harvesting the methane gas.
- 24:39All right, after I've had a Curry, I mean, I think I can
- 24:41help. Can I ask you to a personal
- 24:49question? Yes you can.
- 24:51For God's sake, it. Is about faults, yes.
- 24:56Have you been informed by your better halves that you, in fact,
- 24:59you know, break wind in bed when you're asleep?
- 25:02I have been from time to time, but that's the only mandate who
- 25:05don't fart in in front of each other unless that happens.
- 25:07No, I'm not allowed to. I mean, he just pretends that
- 25:10breaking wind don't exist. Oh, but we do.
- 25:13I think it's very normal. I want to live with Luke and his
- 25:16misses. It sounds like a very.
- 25:17Free can get stinky at times. Especially with all that Piri
- 25:21Piri chips. Yeah, no, no judgement.
- 25:25Now, what's happening now? Oh, they're they're about to be
- 25:28executed. Well, the cliffhang is quite
- 25:29shit, isn't it? Because it's, it's not even
- 25:32anything to do with the Doctor of Ravana.
- 25:34It's. What is it always him being
- 25:36dragged away down the pipe? It's it's weird.
- 25:38Yeah, the Crow. Reveal and then this one piece
- 25:41of like shit, he's gone and we're like oh.
- 25:43I didn't. They're saving it for episode 3
- 25:45and now that's a great cliffhanger.
- 25:46No, but we've already seen crawl.
- 25:48But it's weird that the crawl reveal isn't at the end of
- 25:51episode 2, because everything else seems like a damp squid.
- 25:57Like. People say, I'm not even going
- 26:01to give that the dignity of a response.
- 26:06People tend to say that Douglas Simpson goes off the boil a bit
- 26:10right towards late Tom Baker. But the end of Episode 3, when
- 26:13the Doctor and Ramada are in that boat headed straight for
- 26:16crawl, he's like, it's great. I'm not really a fan of the
- 26:22Dudley Simpson Tom Baker music. I think he's gone off it by the
- 26:25beginning of the era to be honest.
- 26:26His 60s work is the best. Do you remember the Ice
- 26:30Warriors? So that JNT was right to to bin
- 26:39him off. Yeah, absolutely.
- 26:41It was the right decision. The problem is they bring in
- 26:44like some really cool electronic musicians and then about four
- 26:47stories later, just go anyone with a synthesizer.
- 26:49All you. Wouldn't have to sit your deaf
- 26:51music, don't you like that? Yeah, but like we're talking one
- 26:55in a one a season, 1 every two seasons by the time you get to.
- 27:00You love it in Stones of Blood. When he's doing, you know he's
- 27:02holding up the raggers. It's like bull fighting.
- 27:07I'm not saying that it's all shit, but it is just repetitive
- 27:11and I'm a bit bored by. This classic music doesn't stick
- 27:14in my head like new music. So like it was a city of death
- 27:17yet. But Stones of Blood, I won't be
- 27:19able to tell you anything. I'm just being nice because
- 27:22sigh, heart has just had a stroke here and you say these
- 27:24things and I don't want the medical a.
- 27:28Quick quick quiz. This Part 2 was.
- 27:32I mean it's only one question. Part 2 was the most watched
- 27:36episode of the story. Guess how many people tuned in?
- 27:3812.6 million. Now go more 14.5.
- 27:44No, it's 12 point something. It's 12.4 but it's insane and it
- 27:48there must have been a strike because Part 1 got 665 million
- 27:52and everyone went. There's no way.
- 27:53Everybody went to school, went. You've got to see Doctor.
- 27:55Who? Weird.
- 27:56Crap handed, man. What will happen?
- 27:59Roman is going to die. I mean is that the most the
- 28:03biggest leap though? 6,000,000 between episodes.
- 28:07It's got to be. So, but there was something
- 28:09there was a like a strike in the week, like a blackout, I don't
- 28:13know which week it was. And then like Doctor Who nearly
- 28:17didn't go out and then the strike got the strike fee.
- 28:25I know there was. I'm going to try and be serious.
- 28:27I was like, I know there was strikes and things happening at
- 28:29the time, which is why I see your deaths got as as high a
- 28:32viewing figures as it does. You look at it on average
- 28:35though, across the Williams era, it's really healthy.
- 28:38It's like between 8 and 10 million, at least per story.
- 28:42I generally think if people are invested in the lead actor
- 28:46Doctor, then your show can run quite healthily.
- 28:50Like you're not. Going to say about Doctor Who
- 28:52nowadays and Luke. Well, well, it's just.
- 28:56Join us for the Strictly cum hamster on that and.
- 28:59It's just doing the same as as any other normal show but.
- 29:05Let's not get into the the fucking ratings debate now.
- 29:08We're not doing ratings. It's just like.
- 29:11Let's just end episode 2 by saying Tom Baker is magnificent
- 29:16and everybody was just there for him in the 70s.
- 29:18Agreed. Should we put?
- 29:20It there. Cut it there.
- 29:22Crawl it there. I've had to take my slippers off
- 29:24because my feet are too sweaty.
