Jack Dorsey just published a company manifesto explaining why Block eliminated over 4,000 employees and removed the entire middle management layer.
His reasoning: managers exist to route information up and down an organizational chain. AI now performs that function faster and with greater consistency.
Block now categorizes every remaining role into three buckets: builders, problem solvers, and player coaches who develop talent. No managers. No information layers.
