- 0:00Speaker 1: You're waking up to Denver's Morning.
- 0:02Speaker 2: Show with Nina and Josh.
- 0:04Speaker 1: Mix 100.
- 0:05Speaker 2: It's Denver's Morning Show with Nina and Josh on Mix 100. Josh,
- 0:09Speaker 2: are you proud of me for making it into the
- 0:11Speaker 2: studio today?
- 0:12Speaker 1: I can't believe you made it in this early. You
- 0:14Speaker 1: were bright-eyed and bushy-tailed getting up.
- 0:16Speaker 2: Yeah, I was at a concert last night, went to
- 0:19Speaker 2: go see Doja Cat at Ball Arena.
- 0:21Speaker 1: At a late night.
- 0:22Speaker 2: It was a late night. I wasn't home and in
- 0:26Speaker 2: bed until after 11, which is so late for us.
- 0:30Speaker 1: For us, that's like 3 in the morning.
- 0:32Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly.
- 0:33Speaker 1: Did you have fun, though? Was it a good concert?
- 0:35Speaker 1: It was.
- 0:35Speaker 2: It really was. It was so much fun. She very
- 0:38Speaker 2: much went on theme with her latest album. Which is
- 0:42Speaker 2: kind of like 80s and neon and it was very fun.
- 0:46Speaker 2: But I decided, you know what, it's October, close enough
- 0:50Speaker 2: to Halloween, we're gonna go see Doja Cat. I literally
- 0:53Speaker 2: just dressed up as a whole leopard.
- 0:56Speaker 1: Oh, okay. I like that.
- 0:57Speaker 2: Cat ears and everything.
- 0:58Speaker 1: You do the face paint and everything, too?
- 1:00Speaker 2: Kind of. I did my makeup. I did the leopard
- 1:02Speaker 2: spots on the side of my face.
- 1:04Speaker 1: Okay, so you did the, I'm a cat, duh.
- 1:06Speaker 2: Duh. Yeah, exactly. Throw on some ears and you're good.
- 1:09Speaker 1: I love it. Okay, no, that's cool. I mean, Doja Cat,
- 1:11Speaker 1: I see the theme. You can dress up. And then,
- 1:13Speaker 1: like you said, no one's going to make fun of
- 1:14Speaker 1: you or question your choice because we're in October. Spooky season.
- 1:18Speaker 2: Well, before the show, we went out to dinner. really quick,
- 1:23Speaker 2: just somewhere in Belmar in Lakewood. And we were out
- 1:26Speaker 2: to dinner and we were sitting there and our server
- 1:28Speaker 2: was looking at me like I was this insane person.
- 1:32Speaker 2: And we were all just kind of dressed up, you know,
- 1:34Speaker 2: and yeah, just girls being girls sitting at the table
- 1:38Speaker 2: in our high heels and what's going on, short shorts
- 1:41Speaker 2: and my cat ears and stuff like that. And and
- 1:44Speaker 2: he started and then eventually he started asking questions like,
- 1:47Speaker 2: are you guys going to a show.
- 1:49Speaker 1: It's trick-or-treating? What are you doing? Yeah, and he was like, we're.
- 1:51Speaker 2: Gonna go see Doja Cat. He was like, oh, that
- 1:54Speaker 2: show's tonight. I wanted to go to that show, blah, blah, blah.
- 1:57Speaker 2: And I was like, yeah, it's tonight. And then he
- 1:59Speaker 2: comes back later, like 20 minutes later, Josh. He's like,
- 2:04Speaker 2: I finally understand the cat ears. It took me a while.
- 2:08Speaker 2: Doja Cat.
- 2:09Speaker 1: Okay.
- 2:09Speaker 2: And I was like, wow. So this guy the whole
- 2:12Speaker 2: time just thought I was an idiot weirdo, like wearing
- 2:15Speaker 2: cat ears, which there's nothing wrong with that. But also,
- 2:18Speaker 2: I don't know. He was judging me a little bit.
- 2:20Speaker 1: I mean, who doesn't wear cat ears to dinner? I
- 2:23Speaker 1: don't know. I was going to say you could have
- 2:24Speaker 1: taken those off for dinner, but I guess if you
- 2:27Speaker 1: still have half your face painted. Right.
- 2:29Speaker 2: I was like, you know what? We just got to
- 2:30Speaker 2: do it. Yeah.
- 2:31Speaker 1: You got to go all out. Yeah. You owned it.
- 2:33Speaker 1: I love it.
- 2:33Speaker 2: Exactly. So no, I had a great time seeing Doja
- 2:37Speaker 2: Cat last night at Ball Arena. So a lot of
- 2:40Speaker 2: people actually went to that show. We gave away tickets.
- 2:42Speaker 2: Big Rob gave away tickets earlier this week. We gave
- 2:44Speaker 2: away tickets last week. So there was a lot of
- 2:47Speaker 2: shared stories and stuff like that on Mix 100 on
- 2:49Speaker 2: our Instagram.
- 2:51Speaker 1: Oh, we love that. That's awesome. I hope everybody had
- 2:53Speaker 1: a fun, safe time, right? It was.
- 2:54Speaker 2: It was such a good show. And Lotto opened up
- 2:57Speaker 2: for her and it was so much fun.
- 2:58Speaker 1: Oh, really?
- 2:59Speaker 2: Yes. But Josh, just so you know, because I saw
- 3:03Speaker 2: you kind of judging me rolling in a few minutes
- 3:05Speaker 2: later than I normally do this morning. And then you
- 3:09Speaker 2: were like, oh, you made it. Blah, blah, blah. Well,
- 3:11Speaker 2: you want to know why I was late today?
- 3:13Speaker 1: Oh, Yes, absolutely.
- 3:14Speaker 2: It wasn't because I was sleep deprived. It wasn't because
- 3:17Speaker 2: I was out late last night. It was because I
- 3:20Speaker 2: got us breakfast burritos because it's breakfast burrito Friday!
- 3:28Speaker 1: You did not. Are you serious?
- 3:30Speaker 2: I have a bag right here. Filled with breakfast burritos
- 3:33Speaker 2: just for you.
- 3:34Speaker 1: You just made my life. life.
- 3:36Speaker 2: Well, you're welcome.
- 3:38Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 3:38Speaker 2: And don't you ever judge me again.
- 3:41Speaker 1: Never.
- 3:41Speaker 2: I will prove you wrong every time, Josh.
- 3:44Speaker 1: Never, ever. I promise. I promise.
- 3:47Speaker 2: I woke up this morning. I checked my feed and
- 3:50Speaker 2: the first thing that I see is Kourtney Kardashian has
- 3:54Speaker 2: this ongoing feud with Jennifer Lawrence. And I was like, yes. Click,
- 3:58Speaker 2: let me see what's going on.
- 4:00Speaker 1: Give me all the tea.
- 4:01Speaker 2: I want to know. So Jennifer Lawrence, she famously just
- 4:05Speaker 2: loves reality TV. Like, she's just like me. She loves
- 4:09Speaker 2: to watch reality TV, and she loves the Kardashians. She's
- 4:12Speaker 2: talked about it many times. I think she's made a
- 4:15Speaker 2: cameo on the show because she's friends with Kris Jenner, which, like,
- 4:18Speaker 2: made her whole life.
- 4:19Speaker 1: Oh, wow.
- 4:20Speaker 2: And she recently, in an interview, openly talked about which
- 4:24Speaker 2: Kardashian sister she does not like.
- 4:27Speaker 1: Oh.
- 4:28Speaker 2: And Kourtney Kardashian came out of her mouth. So she
- 4:31Speaker 2: said she's very annoying because she has to announce everything
- 4:35Speaker 2: that she's doing. She has to announce to everyone she's vegan.
- 4:38Speaker 2: She has to announce to everyone she's no longer doing outfits.
- 4:42Speaker 2: She just has to make an announcement about everything, and
- 4:45Speaker 2: she says that is very annoying.
- 4:47Speaker 1: I mean, yeah, you could just do it.
- 4:49Speaker 2: That's what she said.
- 4:50Speaker 1: Just do it.
- 4:51Speaker 2: Do whatever you're going to do. Why does it have
- 4:52Speaker 2: to be such a big deal?
- 4:53Speaker 1: Kind of on J-Law's side for this. Right, exactly.
- 4:56Speaker 2: I think a lot of people are. But then Kourtney
- 4:59Speaker 2: Kardashian heard about this, and she totally snapped back. She
- 5:03Speaker 2: was like, She's acting like she's one of our sisters.
- 5:06Speaker 2: And if she wants annoying Courtney, I can be annoying
- 5:09Speaker 2: and I'll slap her like a sister. Go ahead, join
- 5:12Speaker 2: the family. And like, yeah, yeah, exactly. It was crazy.
- 5:18Speaker 2: So yeah, they're fighting right now.
- 5:21Speaker 1: Guess she's like I'll cut you no like good night what.
- 5:24Speaker 2: The heck but the funny thing is that Jennifer Lawrence
- 5:27Speaker 2: when she said this she did it in an interview
- 5:30Speaker 2: and then Courtney later after reacting to it already because
- 5:33Speaker 2: she just heard about it yeah she watched that interview
- 5:36Speaker 2: and she watched that clip of Jennifer Lawrence talking about
- 5:38Speaker 2: her and she goes oh actually it wasn't as bad
- 5:41Speaker 2: as I thought it was um so I guess I
- 5:43Speaker 2: didn't need to say all of that but.
- 5:46Speaker 1: That's still overreact yeah I know crazy crazy.
- 5:50Speaker 2: Yeah so she totally backtracked and overreacted to that so that's.
- 5:54Speaker 1: Just good for tv you know what good for tv
- 5:57Speaker 1: exactly well joe rogan uh a lot of people like
- 6:00Speaker 1: him a lot of people don't like him but he
- 6:02Speaker 1: has just renewed his multi-year agreement on spotify for his
- 6:06Speaker 1: podcast which extends the uh partnership that began in like
- 6:10Speaker 1: 2020 i believe and the wall street journal has reported
- 6:13Speaker 1: that The earnings that he has made.
- 6:16Speaker 2: Oh, gosh. How much money is he making?
- 6:18Speaker 1: Nina, we need to get into some kind of Joe
- 6:21Speaker 1: Rogan podcasting because he has made an estimated over $ 250
- 6:27Speaker 1: million in just that amount of time. So a little
- 6:31Speaker 1: over six years now just podcasting.
- 6:35Speaker 2: Wow, that's crazy.
- 6:37Speaker 1: It's well on the way to $ 300 million, and then
- 6:40Speaker 1: he just re-upped it, so it'll probably go over $ 300
- 6:42Speaker 1: million in the next couple years here.
- 6:44Speaker 2: Yeah, totally.
- 6:45Speaker 1: He says, the partnership with Spotify has been an amazing fit. Yeah, duh, obviously.
- 6:49Speaker 1: You're making so much money. He is ranked as the
- 6:52Speaker 1: top podcast on Spotify, YouTube, and Apple Podcasts, so obviously
- 6:56Speaker 1: that makes sense. It's a lot of ad revenue.
- 6:58Speaker 2: It's a popular one.
- 7:00Speaker 1: My gosh, like, I didn't know you could make, like,
- 7:03Speaker 1: I know he's rich, I understand, he does a lot
- 7:05Speaker 1: of stuff, he was a stand-up comedian for a very
- 7:06Speaker 1: long time, I understand that.
- 7:07Speaker 2: And this is also the guy that was doing Fear Factor, like,
- 7:09Speaker 2: making people eat worms and stuff.
- 7:11Speaker 1: I forgot about that, I loved Fear Factor. I don't
- 7:14Speaker 1: know if, I could probably eat a worm, but those
- 7:16Speaker 1: ones where you had to get in, like, that see-through
- 7:18Speaker 1: coffin and have all the spiders crawl over you. Ugh!
- 7:22Speaker 1: That would take me out.
- 7:23Speaker 2: I can't do that.
- 7:24Speaker 1: Well, anyway, we need to get into Joe Rogan podcasting
- 7:27Speaker 1: because I want to make 300 mil.
- 7:28Speaker 2: Well, we're not quite making $ 300 million, but we technically
- 7:34Speaker 2: have our show podcast up. It's on Spotify and Apple Podcasts.
- 7:38Speaker 1: That's how we're getting close. We're right behind Joe Rogan.
- 7:41Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly. We're second in line, actually. Josh, as life
- 7:44Speaker 2: continues to get just more and more expensive, people are
- 7:47Speaker 2: trying to figure out what are we going to do
- 7:50Speaker 2: about all this debt that we're accumulating?
- 7:53Speaker 1: We have a lot. A lot.
- 7:54Speaker 2: A lot, for sure. And there was a woman who
- 7:57Speaker 2: had a lot of gambling debt. Whoopsies. And she ended
- 8:01Speaker 2: up marrying 12 different men to help her pay down
- 8:04Speaker 2: her debt.
- 8:05Speaker 1: Yep. Yep.
- 8:06Speaker 2: Insane.
- 8:07Speaker 1: That's wild.
- 8:08Speaker 2: Which, that story alone reminded me, right now I am watching,
- 8:12Speaker 2: do you remember the show Tales from the Crypt? No. No?
- 8:17Speaker 1: No.
- 8:17Speaker 2: Old HBO show? It was like 90s back in the day.
- 8:20Speaker 2: It was kind of scary.
- 8:21Speaker 1: I wasn't allowed to watch HBO back in the day, Nina.
- 8:23Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 8:24Speaker 1: I forgot.
- 8:25Speaker 2: You're one of those sheltered kids.
- 8:26Speaker 1: My bad. Hey, hold on.
- 8:28Speaker 2: Ouch. Well, you mentioned the other day that you were
- 8:32Speaker 2: not allowed to watch. And that show, honestly, for anyone
- 8:36Speaker 2: that does remember that show, it was like each episode
- 8:41Speaker 2: was a different horror story. And it had this creepy
- 8:45Speaker 2: little skeleton guy. And he was funny sometimes, but he
- 8:49Speaker 2: was very creepy. This was not a show for kids,
- 8:52Speaker 2: but I was abnormal and got to watch whatever I wanted.
- 8:55Speaker 1: You're lucky.
- 8:56Speaker 2: And so, I mean, yes and no.
- 8:58Speaker 1: Yeah, you're right.
- 8:59Speaker 2: I am who I am today in both positive and
- 9:01Speaker 2: negative ways because of that.
- 9:02Speaker 1: Because of what you watched. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That makes sense.
- 9:05Speaker 2: But there was an episode, Tales from the Crypt, that
- 9:07Speaker 2: I was watching the other night because my husband and
- 9:09Speaker 2: I are re-watching that show on HBO.
- 9:11Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 9:12Speaker 2: Because, you know, it's spooky season, but it reminded me
- 9:15Speaker 2: of an episode. It was the same kind of thing.
- 9:17Speaker 2: This guy just trying to get rich. He was marrying
- 9:20Speaker 2: all these women and then, you know, nixing them. Because, again,
- 9:24Speaker 2: this was a haunted kind of horror show. But then
- 9:26Speaker 2: they came alive and were zombies and ate him, so...
- 9:30Speaker 2: It didn't really work out for him.
- 9:31Speaker 1: Karma, jeez.
- 9:32Speaker 2: I hope it works out for this other woman, though,
- 9:34Speaker 2: in real life who did marry 12 men to get
- 9:37Speaker 2: out of her gambling debt. Do you know how much
- 9:39Speaker 2: debt she was in?
- 9:40Speaker 1: $ 300, 000. Oh my gosh, from gambling? That's a lot. Oh yeah,
- 9:45Speaker 1: you can lose that in one night, Nina. Oh, oh,
- 9:48Speaker 1: oh really? Oh yeah.
- 9:49Speaker 2: Alright, okay, so I'm over here watching all the horror
- 9:52Speaker 2: shows as a kid, but you, you're gambling on the
- 9:54Speaker 2: other hand?
- 9:54Speaker 1: I'm gambling, yeah.
- 9:55Speaker 2: Okay, we might need to talk about this, Josh.
- 9:57Speaker 1: I need help.
- 9:58Speaker 2: Three things you need to know before you go into
- 10:00Speaker 2: the office today, like breakfast dates are becoming more popular
- 10:06Speaker 2: than your average dinner dates now.
- 10:09Speaker 1: I feel like they'd be a little less expensive, maybe?
- 10:12Speaker 2: Well, that is one of the reasons why they are
- 10:13Speaker 2: becoming more popular. Yeah, it's definitely more affordable. Going out
- 10:17Speaker 2: for breakfast... Way cheaper than dinner and drinks and possibly
- 10:21Speaker 2: dessert and everything like that. So typically, yeah, it's more affordable.
- 10:26Speaker 2: Daters are also saying it feels less stressful. You know,
- 10:30Speaker 2: just going out for breakfast, it's a little bit more casual.
- 10:33Speaker 1: Casual, right?
- 10:33Speaker 2: Yeah. Yes, exactly. And then on top of that, it's
- 10:37Speaker 2: an easy out if the date isn't going well. Just because, like,
- 10:42Speaker 2: you're there for breakfast and that's it. And okay, bye.
- 10:44Speaker 1: You can do that real quick. Just, you know what,
- 10:46Speaker 1: let me get that. Breakfast burrito for to go. There
- 10:49Speaker 1: we go. Exactly. I like that. Okay, that's actually nice.
- 10:52Speaker 2: And then on the other hand, if the date is
- 10:54Speaker 2: going well, then you have all day to hang out
- 10:58Speaker 2: and continue on if you want to.
- 11:00Speaker 1: Keep getting those bottomless mimosas, right?
- 11:03Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly.
- 11:04Speaker 1: I like that. I mean, I love breakfast food. I
- 11:06Speaker 1: love all breakfast food, any way, shape, or form. So
- 11:09Speaker 1: I'm in on this. I think that's a really good idea.
- 11:11Speaker 1: I don't know if I've ever done A first breakfast date, though.
- 11:14Speaker 1: I've done a lot of breakfast dates in my life,
- 11:15Speaker 1: but I don't know.
- 11:16Speaker 2: If I've done a first one. Well, they are becoming
- 11:17Speaker 2: more and more popular. So anyone out there who is dating,
- 11:22Speaker 2: I know it can be tough, but try it out.
- 11:24Speaker 2: Try out a breakfast date every once in a while.
- 11:25Speaker 2: Mix it up, you know?
- 11:27Speaker 1: There you go. I like it. All right. Well, this
- 11:28Speaker 1: I wanted to talk about simply because it is the
- 11:30Speaker 1: funniest thing I've ever heard. So beavers, they're in the news.
- 11:34Speaker 1: They are doing some damage to some places. A sign erected.
- 11:37Speaker 1: to alert the public about beaver activity in southern Poland
- 11:41Speaker 1: has been destroyed. It's been chewed down by beavers.
- 11:46Speaker 2: Oh my goodness.
- 11:47Speaker 1: It's the most ironic thing ever. There's a forestry district
- 11:50Speaker 1: up there dedicated to wildlife, okay? However, they did have
- 11:54Speaker 1: a sign up there and it was a wooden sign,
- 11:56Speaker 1: which is so ironic. Why would you make a wooden
- 11:58Speaker 1: sign for a beaver habitat? I just don't understand. But
- 12:00Speaker 1: the sign was displaying... Warning, damaged caused by beavers all over.
- 12:04Speaker 1: So essentially like look out for trees, look out for
- 12:06Speaker 1: things that could fall. Beavers be chewing. So they said
- 12:10Speaker 1: the beavers didn't want you to be warned. So they
- 12:13Speaker 1: ended up cutting down the hazardous post. And now we
- 12:16Speaker 1: don't know what to do. Make it metal.
- 12:18Speaker 2: Make it a metal post.
- 12:19Speaker 1: What are you talking about?
- 12:21Speaker 2: Well, listen, I understand if it is in a habitat,
- 12:24Speaker 2: you don't want to throw in a bunch of metal
- 12:26Speaker 2: and other materials that don't necessarily belong there.
- 12:29Speaker 1: That's a good point.
- 12:30Speaker 2: But the fact that the beavers did start to chew
- 12:33Speaker 2: on the sign, maybe you might need to consider it.
- 12:35Speaker 1: I just love it. It's adorable. They said Poland's beaver
- 12:38Speaker 1: population was once nearly extinct in the 1930s. However, they rebounded,
- 12:43Speaker 1: and there's now almost 200,000 beavers following their reintroduction, and
- 12:47Speaker 1: so we just love that. We love the beavers being okay. Aw,
- 12:50Speaker 1: the beavers. Chew away.
- 12:51Speaker 2: Yeah, go ahead. So something a little bit depressing, Josh.
- 12:55Speaker 2: Sorry to bring it up, but last night was the
- 12:58Speaker 2: last 6.30 sunset of the year.
- 13:01Speaker 1: Don't tell me that.
- 13:02Speaker 2: No. It's all downhill from here until March of next year.
- 13:07Speaker 2: Sunsets are just going to continue to get later and later,
- 13:09Speaker 2: but yeah, the last sunset. at 6.30 yesterday, and I
- 13:14Speaker 2: totally missed that.
- 13:16Speaker 1: That sounds so early, by the way, too. 6.30 sunset. Yeah.
- 13:21Speaker 2: So yeah, it's just going to get later and later
- 13:22Speaker 2: and darker and darker. But didn't you say you liked that?
- 13:25Speaker 1: Yeah, I was going to say I'm not actually that
- 13:26Speaker 1: affected by it.
- 13:27Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 13:27Speaker 1: I really like it.
- 13:28Speaker 2: Everyone else is all sad and depressed about it.
- 13:30Speaker 1: They can be. Let me have my moment, please. All right.
- 13:33Speaker 2: Okay, we'll let Josh have his moment. Fine. You are
- 13:36Speaker 2: hitting the roads out there. Are you speeding?
- 13:39Speaker 1: Don't do that.
- 13:40Speaker 2: Don't do that. I see you out there every day
- 13:44Speaker 2: just on the roads. It gets crazier and crazier out
- 13:46Speaker 2: here in Denver, I swear. And part of the reason
- 13:49Speaker 2: might be because of the app Waze. You know Waze.
- 13:52Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, I use Waze. I like it.
- 13:54Speaker 2: You can use Google Maps, Apple Maps. There's also Waze,
- 13:57Speaker 2: which is just another app for driving around, giving you directions.
- 14:01Speaker 2: But Waze is a little bit different because it definitely
- 14:04Speaker 2: notifies you of a lot of extra things.
- 14:07Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a little more interactive.
- 14:08Speaker 2: Yeah, for sure. And one of the things that notifies
- 14:10Speaker 2: you on are like police speed checks.
- 14:14Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 14:14Speaker 2: Things like that.
- 14:15Speaker 1: Cop ahead.
- 14:16Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly. And people are now using it kind of
- 14:21Speaker 2: in a negative way.
- 14:21Speaker 1: Well, it's kind of like they're It's like the fuzz buster.
- 14:24Speaker 1: That's what they're using. It helps them get past the
- 14:28Speaker 1: speed traps, if you will. A new study found that
- 14:32Speaker 1: speeding has dropped dramatically once Waze flagged nearby police enforcement.
- 14:37Speaker 1: The researchers clocked almost 10,000 vehicles across 33 sites using
- 14:43Speaker 1: a laser speed gun. Before an alert appeared, about 55%
- 14:47Speaker 1: of those drivers exceeded the limit. Now, afterward, that figure, Nina,
- 14:52Speaker 1: fell to 20%.
- 14:54Speaker 2: Which, that's a.
- 14:55Speaker 1: Massive drop off.
- 14:56Speaker 2: Yeah, and that's a good thing, right?
- 14:57Speaker 1: Well, yeah, it's good, but you're also just.
- 14:59Speaker 2: People slowing down, but they're only doing it.
- 15:01Speaker 1: For like the 400 yards that the cop is there.
- 15:04Speaker 2: And then they're speeding past again after that.
- 15:07Speaker 1: Like right afterwards, so... It's interesting because this study actually
- 15:11Speaker 1: says that drivers who have successfully avoided tickets after seeing
- 15:14Speaker 1: the alerts feel more invincible. Like they're like, oh, girl.
- 15:18Speaker 2: I got away with it.
- 15:19Speaker 1: Yeah, totally.
- 15:20Speaker 2: This is the trick.
- 15:21Speaker 1: So over time, potentially speeding more freely elsewhere. Waze actually
- 15:25Speaker 1: has like 150 million monthly users. Wow. I'm one of
- 15:29Speaker 1: them as well. Wow. I will say I kind of
- 15:32Speaker 1: have a lead foot.
- 15:33Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 15:34Speaker 1: A little bit.
- 15:34Speaker 2: Yeah, we've talked about this a little bit. You have
- 15:36Speaker 2: had a speeding ticket or two. Actually, no, you haven't.
- 15:39Speaker 2: You've gotten out of all of them.
- 15:41Speaker 1: Pretty darn good at getting out of them. I don't try.
- 15:43Speaker 1: I don't try to get out of them.
- 15:44Speaker 2: I hate you for that.
- 15:45Speaker 1: That being said, though, I have slowed down a lot
- 15:48Speaker 1: since getting a truck. I have had some faster cars before.
- 15:52Speaker 1: And not that trucks aren't fast. They're actually pretty lightweight cars.
- 15:55Speaker 1: You can kind of go pretty fast with them.
- 15:57Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 15:58Speaker 1: It's just, I don't know. It's bigger. It takes longer
- 16:01Speaker 1: to stop. I want to be safer now that I'm
- 16:03Speaker 1: older and more mature. I think my frontal lobe finally closed, too.
- 16:05Speaker 2: Look at you, more mature.
- 16:07Speaker 1: So I'm slowing down a little bit.
- 16:09Speaker 2: We love that, Josh.
- 16:10Speaker 1: But sometimes 45 miles an hour feels so slow.
- 16:12Speaker 2: I know. It can, but it's, you know, those post-it
- 16:16Speaker 2: speed limits, they are there for a reason.
- 16:18Speaker 1: I know. I know, Mom. I know. Okay. Get there,
- 16:21Speaker 1: you know, point A, point B safely.
- 16:23Speaker 2: Making sure you know.
- 16:24Speaker 1: I understand. It's just one of those things. I don't know.
- 16:27Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 16:27Speaker 2: Speeding is definitely an issue, though, in Denver, I think.
- 16:31Speaker 1: Oh, I-25's like the freaking Autobahn. Yeah. Like, that left lane,
- 16:34Speaker 1: there is no speed limit there. I just saw someone... Actually,
- 16:37Speaker 1: there is a speed limit, by the way. I just
- 16:38Speaker 1: saw a news story saying someone was arrested for going
- 16:42Speaker 1: over 100 miles an hour... On I-25. You can't do that, people.
- 16:45Speaker 2: That's crazy. No.
- 16:47Speaker 1: Come on. Not at all. Not at all.
- 16:48Speaker 2: We were actually talking about, wasn't it yesterday? It was
- 16:51Speaker 2: off the air. And we were talking about driving and
- 16:53Speaker 2: different driving styles. And Denver, again, it's just such a
- 16:57Speaker 2: melting pot that I think people who move here from here,
- 17:01Speaker 2: they're everywhere. They bring their driving style here with them.
- 17:04Speaker 2: And it's the wild, wild west out there.
- 17:06Speaker 1: Texas and California.
- 17:07Speaker 2: Yes.
- 17:08Speaker 1: We get the Texans. We get the Californians. That's what
- 17:10Speaker 1: we get. Yes. And we get more car accidents in Colorado,
- 17:12Speaker 1: which is awesome.
- 17:13Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 17:13Speaker 1: We love it. No, I agree. I don't know. Like,
- 17:15Speaker 1: do you find yourself speeding or do you usually follow
- 17:18Speaker 1: the rules? Be honest.
- 17:19Speaker 2: I have a lead foot also.
- 17:21Speaker 1: Okay.
- 17:21Speaker 2: I have not gotten away with all those speeding tickets
- 17:23Speaker 2: that you have gotten away with. I had to pay
- 17:26Speaker 2: for those.
- 17:26Speaker 1: You cannot get mad at me then. Oh, so you
- 17:29Speaker 1: get caught and you don't get away.
- 17:30Speaker 2: No, that's why I'm mad because I always got caught
- 17:32Speaker 2: and you didn't.
- 17:34Speaker 1: Well, I think I told you off the air too.
- 17:36Speaker 1: The only time I've actually been ticketed and it was
- 17:39Speaker 1: not let go with a warning or whatever, it wasn't
- 17:42Speaker 1: even for speeding. It was for like expired plates. But
- 17:45Speaker 1: the expired plates, I'm good at this. I don't let
- 17:48Speaker 1: that go. The expired plates were in 2020. I could
- 17:51Speaker 1: not get to the DMV to re-up them. I couldn't
- 17:53Speaker 1: do it. They were like, hey, the appointment was like
- 17:56Speaker 1: five months out. And I was like, well, crud like.
- 17:59Speaker 2: This sucks i have the appointment like what do you
- 18:02Speaker 2: want me.
- 18:02Speaker 1: To do so i get pulled over and i'm like
- 18:04Speaker 1: i'm so sorry like i totally understand i get it
- 18:06Speaker 1: you know like it's really hard and the cop goes
- 18:08Speaker 1: yeah absolutely i totally get that that'll be 250 bucks
- 18:10Speaker 1: and i was like.
- 18:12Speaker 2: Oh come on you got caught with it it's so
- 18:15Speaker 2: bad that's such a bummer i can't believe they did
- 18:17Speaker 2: that to you during 2020 and all of that you
- 18:20Speaker 2: had the reservation booked you had the appointment booked i
- 18:23Speaker 2: could have showed her That should have done something for you.
- 18:25Speaker 1: Nope, Miss Officer got me.
- 18:27Speaker 2: No bueno, no bueno. Nope. So Taylor Swift and Travis Kelsey,
- 18:32Speaker 2: they're already having issues and they haven't even moved into
- 18:35Speaker 2: their new house in Cleveland yet.
- 18:37Speaker 1: It's not good. They're moving to Cleveland?
- 18:38Speaker 2: Yeah, so they bought a house in Cleveland because that's
- 18:41Speaker 2: where Travis is from. Beautiful city, beautiful. And he wanted
- 18:45Speaker 2: to be closer to his family. I actually visited Cleveland
- 18:48Speaker 2: this summer and it wasn't the worst place ever. I
- 18:51Speaker 2: know you think Cleveland, Ohio, and you're like, meh, Ohio.
- 18:55Speaker 1: I've driven through it. I guess I'm not like.
- 18:57Speaker 2: It's like right on Lake Erie, and the house that
- 19:01Speaker 2: they bought is like lakefront, beautiful property.
- 19:04Speaker 1: Sure, it's stunning.
- 19:04Speaker 2: You know?
- 19:05Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah.
- 19:05Speaker 2: So... Because they bought this lakefront property and anyone on
- 19:09Speaker 2: a boat could just go on by and be like,
- 19:11Speaker 2: that's Taylor and Travis's house. They are wanting to put
- 19:14Speaker 2: up this huge fence on their property and neighbors are
- 19:18Speaker 2: coming up with every reason for them not to. They're like,
- 19:22Speaker 2: there's a lot of deer in the area and the
- 19:24Speaker 2: deer are going to get impaled by your fence. They're
- 19:27Speaker 2: literally making stuff up. It's weird.
- 19:29Speaker 1: They just want to snoop. They want to... Cleveland has
- 19:33Speaker 1: nothing going on, so they're like, oh my god, Taylor
- 19:36Speaker 1: and Travis are here.
- 19:37Speaker 2: I mean, you would think they would be a little
- 19:39Speaker 2: bit more excited because, yeah, I'm sorry, Cleveland. But it
- 19:43Speaker 2: really does sound like they are surrounded by a bunch
- 19:45Speaker 2: of haters.
- 19:45Speaker 1: I mean, look, she's going to spend one winter there
- 19:48Speaker 1: and say, I never want to. want to go back
- 19:50Speaker 1: because it is freezing.
- 19:52Speaker 2: That's literally what everyone is saying. They're like, they're going
- 19:55Speaker 2: to live here for six months and then they're going
- 19:56Speaker 2: to leave.
- 19:57Speaker 1: I just remember there was one basketball player. I can't
- 19:59Speaker 1: remember who it was, but he played for the Cavs.
- 20:02Speaker 1: And then he left. He went to another team. And
- 20:04Speaker 1: they were like, you know, what made you want to leave?
- 20:05Speaker 1: He goes, I lived in Cleveland. And I'm like, oh.
- 20:09Speaker 1: Poor guy. That's all I think about every time. So
- 20:11Speaker 1: I don't, there's no way she's going to. Usually you
- 20:14Speaker 1: move where, like, the wife's parents are.
- 20:17Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 20:18Speaker 1: Go get a nice, beautiful, wooded front property in Pennsylvania.
- 20:21Speaker 2: Yeah, I was going to say, she's from Pennsylvania.
- 20:23Speaker 1: Zane lives there. He loves it from One Direction, I'm sure.
- 20:26Speaker 2: No, they chose Cleveland. I don't know. It is what
- 20:29Speaker 2: it is.
- 20:30Speaker 1: They're going to be there one day a year.
- 20:31Speaker 2: Yeah, I know. And their neighbors already are just not
- 20:33Speaker 2: happy at them.
- 20:34Speaker 1: That's crazy. All right, well. I love this guy, so
- 20:37Speaker 1: I want to talk about him. Alex Warren is going
- 20:39Speaker 1: to host the 2026 Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards.
- 20:42Speaker 2: Nice.
- 20:43Speaker 1: I was obsessed with this show, or I guess this
- 20:46Speaker 1: award ceremony back in the day, because I always wanted
- 20:49Speaker 1: to get slimed.
- 20:49Speaker 2: Yes, we all did.
- 20:51Speaker 1: I think it's the coolest thing ever. I still would
- 20:54Speaker 1: love to. I've never been able to. Never won a
- 20:56Speaker 1: Kids' Choice Award, unfortunately. But Alex Warren will host the
- 20:58Speaker 1: 39th Annual Kids' Choice Awards on November 14th. It's going
- 21:01Speaker 1: to be airing in Los Angeles on Nickelodeon, obviously. And
- 21:04Speaker 1: it's gonna be streaming on Paramount +, which I like.
- 21:07Speaker 1: And kind of going with your story, Taylor Swift, she
- 21:10Speaker 1: leads all individual nominees with six different nominations, followed by
- 21:15Speaker 1: our girl Ari, Ariana Grande, and Sabrina Carpenter, and then
- 21:18Speaker 1: there's a bunch of others there as well. Alex Warren,
- 21:21Speaker 1: I actually had a chance to interview him last year
- 21:24Speaker 1: when his Ordinary song was just blowing up.
- 21:27Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 21:28Speaker 1: The nicest, kindest dude ever. Got to meet his wife.
- 21:31Speaker 1: She was in the elevator with us, Cover, and she
- 21:34Speaker 1: is also amazing. The first thing she goes, she goes...
- 21:36Speaker 1: you guys live here. Where's the nearest target? And I
- 21:38Speaker 1: was like, that is so real. I love you for that.
- 21:41Speaker 1: That is awesome. They're the cutest little couple. And so
- 21:43Speaker 1: that's cool. I'll be watching that. I like Alex. So
- 21:45Speaker 1: I'll be watching him. Okay.
- 21:46Speaker 2: What date is that in November.
- 21:48Speaker 1: November 14th coming up here. Yeah.
- 21:49Speaker 2: All right. And Prince Harry said that when he and
- 21:52Speaker 2: Meghan Markle moved to Canada for just a couple of
- 21:54Speaker 2: months at the end of 2019, um, He was severely depressed.
- 21:59Speaker 2: He said that his life before they moved was very stressful,
- 22:02Speaker 2: and then he finally stepped away from all his royal duties.
- 22:05Speaker 2: There was just all sorts of stuff that came at
- 22:07Speaker 2: him from that. And he said that the stress was gone,
- 22:10Speaker 2: but at the same time, it all hit him at once.
- 22:14Speaker 2: And the fact that they were living in Canada, he says,
- 22:16Speaker 2: just didn't really help. So what I took away from
- 22:19Speaker 2: that story is that the USA is way better than Canada.
- 22:22Speaker 2: I'm sorry I said what I said.
- 22:23Speaker 1: Well, yeah, absolutely. He's probably like, there's too many geese here.
- 22:26Speaker 1: Way too many geese. I hate it here. I hate it. Yeah,
- 22:31Speaker 1: I mean, it's freezing cold there. I've been to some parts,
- 22:33Speaker 1: and it's just not, you know what, it's fine. The
- 22:35Speaker 1: people up north, you're great. I will say Vancouver is
- 22:38Speaker 1: one of my favorite places in the world. It is
- 22:40Speaker 1: beautiful there. I'm sure it is. That's the West Coast
- 22:42Speaker 1: right there.
- 22:43Speaker 2: It's on my list to visit, but I will only visit.
- 22:47Speaker 1: And Banff.
- 22:47Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 22:48Speaker 1: Banff National Park, two very, very beautiful places. Other than that,
- 22:51Speaker 1: it's just a bunch of people apologizing. Oh, sorry. Oh
- 22:54Speaker 1: my gosh.
- 22:55Speaker 2: Josh, we talked about a little bit of trouble we've gotten,
- 22:57Speaker 2: both of us have gotten in before with speeding tickets
- 23:01Speaker 2: and things of that nature. And the one ticket that
- 23:04Speaker 2: you've ever actually gotten was because of expired tags during
- 23:08Speaker 2: 2020 of all years.
- 23:10Speaker 1: Yes, I wasn't being negligent or lazy. I was trying
- 23:13Speaker 1: to get my darn tags and I just couldn't because
- 23:15Speaker 1: everything was so backed up during the whole COVID and
- 23:17Speaker 1: everything like that. Yes. I did get pulled over and
- 23:19Speaker 1: they were like, oh, we're so sorry. That sucks. I
- 23:21Speaker 1: know you're in a bad position. It's a $ 250 fine.
- 23:23Speaker 2: But like too bad, pay us. Okay.
- 23:25Speaker 1: Sounds good. Yeah.
- 23:27Speaker 2: And that reminded me, I was like, oh yeah, I'm
- 23:29Speaker 2: waiting for my tags right now. And it's kind of
- 23:32Speaker 2: a weird situation at the moment. And I am starting
- 23:36Speaker 2: to worry that maybe it's not the city's fault. Maybe
- 23:40Speaker 2: it's not the government scamming me. Like maybe I'm actually
- 23:42Speaker 2: being scammed right now and it has to do with
- 23:44Speaker 2: my vehicle tags.
- 23:45Speaker 1: Is it? Did you not go, like, the DMV?
- 23:48Speaker 2: Okay, so here's what happened was.
- 23:51Speaker 1: Oh, boy. What'd you do?
- 23:53Speaker 2: I don't think I did anything wrong, and I'm still
- 23:55Speaker 2: waiting to see. But I needed to get new tags.
- 23:58Speaker 2: It was just time for my yearly registration, right? And
- 24:00Speaker 2: so I pay the hundred-something dollars, right, for my new
- 24:04Speaker 2: tags because I knew it was coming up. Pay it.
- 24:07Speaker 1: Okay.
- 24:07Speaker 2: And then I don't know about you, Josh, but do
- 24:08Speaker 2: you have, when you get mail to your house, do
- 24:11Speaker 2: you have that e-mail thing? a thing set up where
- 24:13Speaker 2: you can see your mail in your email ahead of time.
- 24:16Speaker 1: No, I don't do that, but I know what you're
- 24:19Speaker 1: talking about there.
- 24:19Speaker 2: Okay, well, I have that at my house. And so
- 24:22Speaker 2: I got an email showing me that my tags were
- 24:25Speaker 2: coming in the mail because I had just paid for them. Okay, good.
- 24:27Speaker 2: I need those tags. So I got that email, and
- 24:31Speaker 2: then the tags did not show up in the mail
- 24:33Speaker 2: that day. But I was like, eh, sometimes it's a
- 24:35Speaker 2: day or two late.
- 24:36Speaker 1: Yeah, for sure.
- 24:37Speaker 2: Next day, it's not there. I'm still not worried. But
- 24:39Speaker 2: then the next day, it's still not there. And I'm like, huh.
- 24:41Speaker 2: This is a little peculiar because they are supposed to
- 24:45Speaker 2: be in my mailbox and on my car now. And
- 24:48Speaker 2: I'm going to out myself right now, but we're nine
- 24:51Speaker 2: days into October and my tags expired at the end
- 24:55Speaker 2: of September. So, but I paid for them.
- 24:58Speaker 1: You just alerted every cop right now. No, I paid
- 25:01Speaker 1: for them. It's paid for. Okay.
- 25:03Speaker 2: It is paid for already.
- 25:04Speaker 1: Okay. What did you use then? How are you not?
- 25:06Speaker 2: I mean, it was through the city, I think. And
- 25:11Speaker 2: I got a confirmation email and everything. But the fact
- 25:13Speaker 2: that it hasn't come through physically in my mail and
- 25:16Speaker 2: I don't have those tags, I've been getting worried. And
- 25:20Speaker 2: now it has been way too long. And so over
- 25:23Speaker 2: the weekend, I just checked on my email, my other confirmation.
- 25:26Speaker 2: But on Sunday, I had to go through the whole
- 25:30Speaker 2: process again and just ask for new tags. But get this, Josh.
- 25:35Speaker 2: I had to pay for replacement tags again. Because they
- 25:38Speaker 2: never even came in the mail in.
- 25:39Speaker 1: The first place. They charged you twice now? So you're
- 25:41Speaker 1: double paying.
- 25:42Speaker 2: Essentially. It was less.
- 25:44Speaker 1: Oh my gosh. Okay, who cares? You're still paying.
- 25:46Speaker 2: For it, though. It was like all these processing fees
- 25:49Speaker 2: and whatever. What are you processing? It was only $ 5.
- 25:53Speaker 2: But I still had to pay five more dollars. And
- 25:55Speaker 2: I still, Josh, do not have my tags.
- 25:58Speaker 1: So are you going to do it again?
- 26:00Speaker 2: I don't want to do it. No, I'm not going
- 26:02Speaker 2: to do it again. Because I've already done it twice now.
- 26:05Speaker 2: And at this point, I'm like, I don't know what
- 26:06Speaker 2: to do. I don't know what to do anymore. Like,
- 26:09Speaker 2: do I have to physically go into a DMV? Like,
- 26:12Speaker 2: if you work at the DMV, if you work for
- 26:13Speaker 2: the city or anything like that, can you please text
- 26:16Speaker 2: us and, like, help me? 303-691-1MIX. Because I'm at a
- 26:20Speaker 2: point now where I'm, like, essentially I am. If a
- 26:23Speaker 2: police officer were to pull me over, yes, my tags
- 26:26Speaker 2: say it's expired. Luckily, I have the confirmation email, so
- 26:28Speaker 2: I think I would be okay. But, like, I'm just
- 26:31Speaker 2: waiting and waiting and waiting for these tags to show up.
- 26:34Speaker 1: That's something I've never dealt with before. I would say
- 26:39Speaker 1: for you personally next time, you can get your tags
- 26:42Speaker 1: at like a Safeway or a King Soopers.
- 26:45Speaker 2: Really?
- 26:45Speaker 1: You can get your tags for next year right then
- 26:47Speaker 1: and there. They'll print it off right there for you.
- 26:49Speaker 2: In the grocery store.
- 26:50Speaker 1: That's what I do because it's just way quicker. And
- 26:52Speaker 1: then I have it physically right after I leave. It's
- 26:54Speaker 1: the same price, so you're still going to have to
- 26:55Speaker 1: pay a couple hundred for it or whatever. But that
- 26:57Speaker 1: being said, you'll get it right then and there.
- 27:00Speaker 2: I didn't know you could do that.
- 27:02Speaker 1: I would definitely suggest that. It's a very quick and
- 27:04Speaker 1: easy way, and then you're not waiting in the mail.
- 27:06Speaker 1: And then, like, also, I mean, someone's just walking around
- 27:08Speaker 1: with your new tags on their vehicle.
- 27:10Speaker 2: No, I kind of think that might have happened. I mean,
- 27:12Speaker 2: I have a doorbell camera, and I haven't seen anyone
- 27:14Speaker 2: take it, but, like, I wonder if someone stole my tags.
- 27:17Speaker 2: out of my mailbox or something.
- 27:19Speaker 1: That would be terrible.
- 27:20Speaker 2: I don't know what to do. Free tags!
- 27:23Speaker 1: No!
- 27:23Speaker 2: Someone please help me. If you know what's going on,
- 27:25Speaker 2: you know the next steps that I should do. Because
- 27:28Speaker 2: I've already paid for the original tags as well as.
- 27:32Speaker 1: The re-up.
- 27:32Speaker 2: Yeah!
- 27:33Speaker 1: Who do you call for that?
- 27:34Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 27:35Speaker 1: Call Colorado. Hello?
- 27:37Speaker 2: Hello, Colorado. Please help me. Text me if you have
- 27:40Speaker 2: any advice. 303-691-1MIX. So we know Celine Dion. She is
- 27:45Speaker 2: going through a residency right now in France. She's so
- 27:48Speaker 2: excited to be back up on stage performing again after
- 27:51Speaker 2: being sick with stiff person syndrome. But she's feeling okay
- 27:55Speaker 2: right now. And we love to see all the videos
- 27:57Speaker 2: that are coming out of France of her performing. But
- 28:00Speaker 2: One video the other day didn't go so well. Oh, no.
- 28:03Speaker 1: What happened?
- 28:04Speaker 2: She ended up falling. She slipped and fell on the stage.
- 28:07Speaker 1: Oh, jeez.
- 28:07Speaker 2: But hold on, hold on. Like, the pro she is,
- 28:10Speaker 2: she did get back up. She didn't hurt herself. Okay, good.
- 28:12Speaker 2: She was totally fine. But it's kind of funny because
- 28:16Speaker 2: I was like, I have to see this video. Like,
- 28:17Speaker 2: I hope she's okay. I was concerned. And so I
- 28:19Speaker 2: watched the video, and she fell because she was too
- 28:23Speaker 2: into the music. She got too into it, Josh. She
- 28:27Speaker 2: was singing, and she didn't have any, like, choreography set
- 28:31Speaker 2: in place.
- 28:32Speaker 1: Of course, Celine doesn't need that.
- 28:33Speaker 2: She was just doing her own thing, right? And she
- 28:35Speaker 2: was like hopping on one foot a few times, wearing heels,
- 28:40Speaker 2: and she fell. Like, girl, what did you think was
- 28:42Speaker 2: going to happen?
- 28:42Speaker 1: So she's just bebopping around and she's... You know what? Okay,
- 28:47Speaker 1: that's like all women in elevated surfaces. It just does
- 28:50Speaker 1: not go well. So that's funny that she was just
- 28:52Speaker 1: jumping around and... ate it.
- 28:56Speaker 2: She did.
- 28:56Speaker 1: She did. Luckily, the only thing that hurt was her ego, right?
- 28:59Speaker 2: Yes, exactly. So she's doing just fine.
- 29:02Speaker 1: You know what? I'm glad she's back, though, because she
- 29:04Speaker 1: has been through the ringer. I mean, seriously, that poor
- 29:07Speaker 1: woman with the voice of an angel. I'm glad she's
- 29:09Speaker 1: back singing.
- 29:09Speaker 2: That's awesome. Me too.
- 29:10Speaker 1: Well, Halle Berry, she has been in the news a
- 29:12Speaker 1: lot lately because she's had to go against abuse allegations
- 29:16Speaker 1: with her children, which is wild but her 18 year
- 29:19Speaker 1: old doll a daughter named nala has filed the court
- 29:22Speaker 1: statement defending her mother against these allegations made by her
- 29:27Speaker 1: ex-husband so martinez filed a petition seeking a temporary restraining
- 29:32Speaker 1: order claiming that barry essentially physically abused their 13-year-old son,
- 29:36Speaker 1: which is horrific, by the way. If that actually has happened,
- 29:39Speaker 1: that is a huge deal. Nala stated that she never
- 29:43Speaker 1: witnessed any violent act towards anyone, though. She said, Halle
- 29:47Speaker 1: Berry is a loving and devoted parent. She did, however, say,
- 29:51Speaker 1: remember Oliver beating up my father in a driveway when
- 29:55Speaker 1: I was little. Ooh! That, complete 180 degrees right there, right?
- 30:01Speaker 1: But that being said, Martinez denies those allegations and saying,
- 30:04Speaker 1: I am not a perpetrator to violence. I would never
- 30:06Speaker 1: hurt our child, which is also something that Halle Berry
- 30:09Speaker 1: said earlier in a statement as well.
- 30:10Speaker 2: Yeah, she totally has denied everything too.
- 30:13Speaker 1: Yeah, so this is a very weird thing. Nala went
- 30:15Speaker 1: on to say that she feels like an afterthought with
- 30:17Speaker 1: Martinez and that the efforts are just to destroy her mother.
- 30:21Speaker 1: So this could be, I mean, those poor famous people,
- 30:23Speaker 1: sometimes they have people just come after them because they're
- 30:25Speaker 1: jealous or hate them or whatever like that, you know? Yeah.
- 30:28Speaker 1: could be a money thing. Could be something like that.
- 30:30Speaker 2: I'm not sure that they're dealing with and you know,
- 30:33Speaker 2: they're not even currently together. I think they're in the
- 30:36Speaker 2: process of divorce or already divorced. So I don't know.
- 30:40Speaker 2: Who knows? This is a lot of, he said, she
- 30:41Speaker 2: said back and forth. Um, But, you know, a daughter
- 30:45Speaker 2: advocating for her mom, it's like never in a million
- 30:48Speaker 2: years moms sometimes think, like, my daughter wouldn't be the
- 30:51Speaker 2: one to stand up for me. But then they grow up,
- 30:53Speaker 2: and then they do, and that's kind of cool to.
- 30:54Speaker 1: See, too. It's a good thing to see. This is
- 30:56Speaker 1: a very messy situation. But I think with a daughter
- 30:59Speaker 1: coming out and saying this, maybe that will help Hallie's case.
- 31:02Speaker 1: It may.
- 31:02Speaker 2: It just may.
- 31:02Speaker 1: It'll keep you updated. Mm-hmm.
- 31:04Speaker 2: And speaking of a messy situation, so Crystal Hefner, Hugh
- 31:08Speaker 2: Hefner's widow, heard about a new movie that is being
- 31:12Speaker 2: launched about her late husband, and Jessica Biel was going
- 31:17Speaker 2: to play Crystal in this movie, and Crystal herself heard
- 31:20Speaker 2: about it and ended up sending Jessica a message begging
- 31:24Speaker 2: her not to do this role. She says, now here's
- 31:28Speaker 2: just a little disclaimer here, she says that she experienced sexual,
- 31:32Speaker 2: emotional trauma financial, and physical abuse during her marriage to Hugh.
- 31:36Speaker 2: And she claims that numerous other women have made other allegations,
- 31:40Speaker 2: which I have heard the rumors of these allegations and stuff.
- 31:43Speaker 1: Totally.
- 31:43Speaker 2: But, you know, he is no longer with us, so
- 31:45Speaker 2: it's so hard to go forward with cases like this.
- 31:48Speaker 2: But Crystal is standing strong for herself and these other
- 31:52Speaker 2: women who have made these allegations. And she is asking
- 31:55Speaker 2: Jessica Biel straight on, please don't do this film.
- 31:59Speaker 1: So... This is, first of all, it is super tough
- 32:03Speaker 1: because he is not here.
- 32:04Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 32:05Speaker 1: But that being said, didn't we already kind of know this? Like,
- 32:08Speaker 1: it's Hugh Hefner. Like, he obviously, you know, started this
- 32:12Speaker 1: whole thing with the Playboy Mansion. And I'm sure, with
- 32:15Speaker 1: that being said, he probably didn't treat the women there
- 32:19Speaker 1: very respectfully. I mean, let's just be honest. And also,
- 32:21Speaker 1: when he started this, wasn't it in the 60s? Yeah.
- 32:23Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah.
- 32:25Speaker 1: It was just different.
- 32:26Speaker 2: It was a different time, which doesn't excuse all of
- 32:29Speaker 2: that behavior at all.
- 32:31Speaker 1: But he could get away with a lot more.
- 32:32Speaker 2: Yeah, it was just unfortunate that he was able to
- 32:34Speaker 2: get away with it for so long. But yeah, Crystal
- 32:37Speaker 2: Hefner now is just trying to stand strong and advocate
- 32:39Speaker 2: for it. And she's saying, Jessica Biel, please don't do it.
- 32:42Speaker 1: Well, poor girl. I mean, I'm sure she dealt with
- 32:44Speaker 1: so much and that's just excruciatingly painful. So good for
- 32:47Speaker 1: her for standing up. I like that, actually. Yeah, absolutely.
- 32:50Speaker 2: You got to stand up for yourself. Happy Breakfast Burrito
- 32:52Speaker 2: Friday from Denver's Morning Show with Nina and Josh. Breakfast
- 32:56Speaker 2: Burrito Friday, it's just something that I made up years ago, Josh,
- 32:59Speaker 2: and I'm just sharing it with everyone here on Mix 100.
- 33:03Speaker 2: You made it to Friday. You made it through the
- 33:04Speaker 2: work week. So Treat yourself with breakfast burritos.
- 33:09Speaker 1: Yeah, you got to celebrate it. And also on top
- 33:11Speaker 1: of that, no one in their right mind has ever said, ew, no,
- 33:14Speaker 1: breakfast burritos. No one.
- 33:15Speaker 2: No one.
- 33:16Speaker 1: No one's ever done that. And it's just a fun
- 33:18Speaker 1: way that now I'm learning how to celebrate with you. Yeah.
- 33:21Speaker 1: And it gets me excited. It makes my energy levels rise.
- 33:24Speaker 1: And I like that. Right.
- 33:25Speaker 2: And sometimes you need that for the end of the week. Like,
- 33:26Speaker 2: I know we're all excited for Friday, but it's still
- 33:29Speaker 2: one last day you got to get through. But yeah,
- 33:32Speaker 2: it just kind of boosts your day.
- 33:34Speaker 1: And we're also exhausted.
- 33:35Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, that too.
- 33:36Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 33:36Speaker 2: That Doja Cat concert last night.
- 33:37Speaker 1: A couple things. I know. You poor thing. hanging on
- 33:40Speaker 1: by a thread right now.
- 33:41Speaker 2: Oh, we're doing great over here. It's fine. Because of
- 33:44Speaker 2: the breakfast burritos.
- 33:45Speaker 1: Yes, yes.
- 33:45Speaker 2: But if you are looking for stuff to do this weekend,
- 33:48Speaker 2: we've got you covered because Josh and I put together
- 33:50Speaker 2: a list of Of the Den 10, it's at least
- 33:53Speaker 2: 10 things to do in Denver each weekend. And the
- 33:57Speaker 2: list for October, just I feel like it gets longer
- 34:00Speaker 2: every weekend, just with so many fall activities happening, especially
- 34:04Speaker 2: for spooky season. But we have a lot happening in
- 34:08Speaker 2: Denver this weekend.
- 34:09Speaker 1: Well, yeah, it's such a blast. I mean, seriously, this
- 34:12Speaker 1: month specifically, you're so right. It just feels like more
- 34:14Speaker 1: and more happens because we're kind of getting like, I
- 34:17Speaker 1: know everyone's like when September hits the Burr months, but yeah, like,
- 34:20Speaker 1: We are getting into the holiday season. We are kicking
- 34:23Speaker 1: it off now. And so with that, it's just like,
- 34:25Speaker 1: instead of the Den 10, it's like the Den 50. Yeah.
- 34:28Speaker 2: No, seriously. Actually, we should count this up at some point.
- 34:31Speaker 2: But you can go check it out at Mix100. com. This weekend,
- 34:35Speaker 2: the Great American Beer Festival happens once again this weekend.
- 34:38Speaker 2: A lot of people love going to that. So not
- 34:42Speaker 2: only is that festival going on itself, but so many
- 34:45Speaker 2: other breweries have their own events because the Great American
- 34:48Speaker 2: Beer Festival is going on.
- 34:50Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 34:50Speaker 2: You can check some of that out. How about the
- 34:53Speaker 2: Colorado State Cornhole Championships?
- 34:56Speaker 1: What?
- 34:57Speaker 2: Yeah, that's a thing. And it's happening this weekend.
- 34:59Speaker 1: That's the coolest thing ever. Can I enter? I want
- 35:02Speaker 1: to play.
- 35:02Speaker 2: Yeah. All the details. That's a Saturday and Sunday event.
- 35:06Speaker 1: That's sick.
- 35:07Speaker 2: You have time to make your plans and enter.
- 35:09Speaker 1: I know what I'm doing.
- 35:10Speaker 2: Oh, my gosh. If you come to work on Monday
- 35:12Speaker 2: saying that you won, I would die.
- 35:14Speaker 1: I wouldn't because I'd be a millionaire. So we're good.
- 35:16Speaker 1: I'd take a few days off.
- 35:18Speaker 2: I don't think it's a million dollar prize, but that's okay.
- 35:20Speaker 2: That's all right.
- 35:21Speaker 1: It's not a sad day. No, no.
- 35:23Speaker 2: Pitch a Friend is coming back to the Denver Milk Market.
- 35:26Speaker 2: That's actually tonight for all the singles in Denver. If
- 35:29Speaker 2: you want to help your friend find their person, our
- 35:33Speaker 2: Colorado Avalanche are playing tomorrow. We have different farmer's markets.
- 35:38Speaker 2: All of those are starting to wind down. So if
- 35:40Speaker 2: you can find farmer's markets still... Go to them. There's
- 35:43Speaker 2: a couple. South Pearl is still happening. There's one in
- 35:46Speaker 2: the tech center at Bellevue Station. So you can find
- 35:49Speaker 2: the info on that. Just go to the Den 10. Mix100. com.
- 35:53Speaker 2: Three things you need to know before you go into
- 35:54Speaker 2: the office today. Like you work at your best when
- 35:59Speaker 2: you take a break.
- 36:01Speaker 1: I love this. This is new news to me and
- 36:03Speaker 1: I love it. Big fan.
- 36:05Speaker 2: So the most energized and motivated workers are those who
- 36:08Speaker 2: will schedule micro breaks during your workday. So you can
- 36:11Speaker 2: tell your boss this. When you go in today, you
- 36:14Speaker 2: need to take several micro breaks throughout the day and
- 36:18Speaker 2: then you will be refreshed, energized. Your mind will just
- 36:21Speaker 2: be clearer to get that work done.
- 36:24Speaker 1: Okay, that makes sense because for me at least, if
- 36:27Speaker 1: I'm just trying to focus for hours and hours on end,
- 36:30Speaker 1: That is what I end up focusing on is how
- 36:32Speaker 1: long I've been focusing. So I distract myself and I'm like,
- 36:35Speaker 1: oh my gosh, I've been working for so long. So
- 36:37Speaker 1: I get that.
- 36:37Speaker 2: It can just get a little too overwhelming. So when
- 36:40Speaker 2: you take your micro breaks, you can do a variety
- 36:44Speaker 2: of things. You know, maybe it is just... looking away
- 36:46Speaker 2: from the computer screen for a minute or two, right?
- 36:48Speaker 2: That's all we do, yeah. You can take a walk
- 36:51Speaker 2: around the office. Even better if you can take a
- 36:53Speaker 2: quick five-minute walk outside. Socialize with a work friend. Maybe
- 36:58Speaker 2: do a few stretches. Get the circulation going through your
- 37:02Speaker 2: body and... Yeah, it'll just honestly help clear your mind
- 37:06Speaker 2: if you take these little micro breaks. Now, we're talking
- 37:08Speaker 2: micro breaks, okay? We're not taking half an hour breaks.
- 37:11Speaker 1: Oh, so my three-hour daily nap in the office is
- 37:15Speaker 1: frowned upon?
- 37:15Speaker 2: That does not count, Josh. No.
- 37:18Speaker 1: Okay, darn it. I was so excited for this. What?
- 37:22Speaker 2: But if you take one of these micro breaks and
- 37:25Speaker 2: you just tell your boss, like, hey, I'm going to
- 37:26Speaker 2: be back in five minutes. I'm going to go take
- 37:27Speaker 2: a walk outside. And they kind of look at you sideways.
- 37:30Speaker 2: You just tell them that we said so. This is
- 37:32Speaker 2: what you got to do.
- 37:33Speaker 1: I like that. Yeah, you got to listen to Nina
- 37:34Speaker 1: and Josh. We know.
- 37:35Speaker 2: Yeah, and it's backed up by science probably, so. Probably.
- 37:40Speaker 1: No, but it is proven. If you can go outside
- 37:42Speaker 1: and get in the sun, that is definitely good for you.
- 37:44Speaker 1: So definitely do that. Take a little five-minute walk around
- 37:46Speaker 1: the office. I like that. Go and do that. All right,
- 37:48Speaker 1: this is funny. Humans just... I don't know if we
- 37:51Speaker 1: just don't care anymore. So a study came out saying
- 37:54Speaker 1: that most Americans are very concerned about AI. It scares them,
- 37:59Speaker 1: and they don't really like where it's going, essentially. However,
- 38:03Speaker 1: we're not cutting back on the use at all. We
- 38:06Speaker 1: use AI so flippin' much. New data shows that 90%
- 38:11Speaker 1: of U.S. adults are using AI at least once a
- 38:14Speaker 1: week with data privacy and security topping reduced. the list
- 38:17Speaker 1: as what they're concerned about, we still don't care. Over
- 38:21Speaker 1: half of Americans are using it all the time. That
- 38:23Speaker 1: includes even around 25% of them using it multiple times
- 38:27Speaker 1: a day. And among those that are expressing concerns about it,
- 38:30Speaker 1: 65% still saying, yeah, we use it every day.
- 38:34Speaker 2: Yeah. I try not to use it. I really don't
- 38:37Speaker 2: use it all that much. But here's the thing is
- 38:39Speaker 2: it's so... incorporated in all of our stuff. If you're
- 38:42Speaker 2: Googling something, there's settings on just Google where it pops
- 38:47Speaker 2: up AI-generated search.
- 38:48Speaker 1: Things for you. And Google itself is AI. Google itself
- 38:52Speaker 1: is an artificial intelligence telling you how to go, where
- 38:54Speaker 1: to go, what to do, what to buy. We've been
- 38:57Speaker 1: using it all the time. You might not be on
- 38:59Speaker 1: chat GPT every day, but that being said, you use
- 39:02Speaker 1: your phone at all. You're using AI. That's the thing.
- 39:05Speaker 1: We just are getting so numb to it now, I think.
- 39:08Speaker 2: Is it numb or is it spoiled?
- 39:11Speaker 1: Oh, we are absolutely spoiled. Oh, gosh. Without this, without
- 39:15Speaker 1: my phone, I'd be lost. I mean, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 39:17Speaker 1: It's the same thing without my iPad, without my computer.
- 39:19Speaker 1: So I think we're just so used to it now.
- 39:21Speaker 1: But that being said, I have concerns too.
- 39:23Speaker 2: That being said, it is destroying the world. I know.
- 39:27Speaker 2: It's fine. Something to think about.
- 39:28Speaker 1: Look, it's the weekend. I'm not worrying about it.
- 39:30Speaker 2: Yeah, I'll worry about it on Monday.
- 39:31Speaker 1: How about that? That's a Monday problem. Right.
- 39:33Speaker 2: The third thing you need to know, most popular Halloween
- 39:36Speaker 2: costumes by each state. This was a study done. They've
- 39:39Speaker 2: done it in each state. And the most popular costume
- 39:42Speaker 2: in Colorado... is a bat, which seems kind of boring.
- 39:46Speaker 2: And actually all of these answers on this survey were
- 39:50Speaker 2: kind of boring too. On the list was mermaid, dinosaur, skeleton,
- 39:55Speaker 2: And then, yeah, for Colorado, a bat. And I was like,
- 39:57Speaker 2: a bat? I've literally, I don't even think I've ever
- 39:59Speaker 2: seen anyone dressed as a bat going out.
- 40:01Speaker 1: You and I went to Spirit Halloween earlier this month,
- 40:05Speaker 1: and I didn't see one thing that you could dress
- 40:07Speaker 1: up as a bat with.
- 40:09Speaker 2: No, no, I don't know.
- 40:09Speaker 1: One costume.
- 40:10Speaker 2: That just seems weird. Sometimes these surveys online are just,
- 40:13Speaker 2: I feel like they're making stuff up.
- 40:15Speaker 1: That's AI slop right there.
- 40:16Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, it is!
- 40:17Speaker 1: You're right! We're using it!
- 40:18Speaker 2: Oh, I hate myself.
