Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 0:15Speaker 2: This is Bolivar's Sinatra Showcase.
- 0:18Speaker 3: I have discovered a young man whom I think is
- 0:21Speaker 3: going to be a superstar. He's got good stage presence,
- 0:24Speaker 3: great set of pipes.
- 0:25Speaker 4: He's Italian.
- 0:27Speaker 3: And he has a unique way with a phrase. But
- 0:29Speaker 3: more than that, there's just something I like about the guy.
- 0:32Speaker 3: You see what I think. You'll know what I think.
- 0:35Speaker 3: Here's my new discovery, Joe Piscopo.
- 0:42Speaker 5: Biscopo live on the radio, live from New York City, baby.
- 0:46Speaker 5: We ain't messing around. This is not a podcast. Oh,
- 0:50Speaker 5: we pre-recorded it. No, live as live can be because
- 0:54Speaker 5: I love being live with you. I am in a tuxedo.
- 0:56Speaker 5: I am in an undisclosed location in the great city
- 1:00Speaker 5: of New York because I was asked not to talk
- 1:02Speaker 5: about where we are. It's a big function, but I'm
- 1:05Speaker 5: not going to tell you. But it's in New York,
- 1:07Speaker 5: and I stepped away from this big event And our
- 1:11Speaker 5: bosses are there from the station. And we just somehow
- 1:15Speaker 5: rigged this system up. And we are locked. And we
- 1:18Speaker 5: are loaded for a bowl of a Sinatra showcase, baby.
- 1:22Speaker 5: We ain't playing around. You know, because I took so
- 1:25Speaker 5: much time. And I was in Italy. And we broadcast
- 1:27Speaker 5: from Milano. Thank you so much for listening. And then
- 1:30Speaker 5: I'm all full of the Italian-American spirit. Italian-American heritage. You know,
- 1:34Speaker 5: we were at the White House yesterday celebrating the Italians.
- 1:37Speaker 5: We're here. It's all Italians here tonight. And we're going
- 1:40Speaker 5: to celebrate one of the greatest Italian-Americans ever to walk
- 1:44Speaker 5: this planet, Francis Albert Sinatra, and more, and more. So
- 1:48Speaker 5: we appreciate you tuning in. And Elias and I have
- 1:51Speaker 5: not even gone through the show. Anything can happen. Put
- 1:54Speaker 5: your seatbelt on, baby. You know, Piscopo live on the radio,
- 1:58Speaker 5: and anything can happen. And we're ready to go. But
- 2:00Speaker 5: you know what? If we can go into this, Elias
- 2:03Speaker 5: is in Midtown. I am downtown. And you know what?
- 2:07Speaker 5: We're going to try. You have that whole little chunk
- 2:09Speaker 5: from Italy, right? That first, that come fly with me
- 2:12Speaker 5: and night and day and witchcraft. If I may, I
- 2:15Speaker 5: play this every, when everything has anything to do with Italians,
- 2:20Speaker 5: you know? Even if you have olive oil, I'm going
- 2:22Speaker 5: to play this. I just like to celebrate everything Italian. Hey,
- 2:25Speaker 5: trust me. We need all the help we can get.
- 2:27Speaker 4: All right?
- 2:28Speaker 5: And it's Columbus Day on Monday. I'll be on the parade.
- 2:31Speaker 5: I'll be broadcasting the parade. This is Mr. Sinatra. He
- 2:36Speaker 5: stops off during a tour, and he is in Rome.
- 2:39Speaker 5: And they say, Mr. Sinatra, would you do some songs
- 2:43Speaker 5: for us in the studio? Now, I play this every
- 2:46Speaker 5: Columbus Day, and I have to do it again. It's
- 2:48Speaker 5: so cool, you know? And it's on a website called
- 2:52Speaker 5: Daily Motion, to give credit, right? And you can't find it.
- 2:56Speaker 5: It's hard to find, but I found it. And it's Mr. S.,
- 2:59Speaker 5: and he does little abbreviated versions of some of his
- 3:02Speaker 5: hit tunes. But what's really funny... As you listen, I'm
- 3:06Speaker 5: going to run through three tunes, right? All of six minutes.
- 3:10Speaker 5: Because they're short versions. And they have a model introduce
- 3:13Speaker 5: Frank Sinatra. And she goes, this is Frank Sinatra. And
- 3:17Speaker 5: this is, come fly with me. And then they do
- 3:21Speaker 5: a voiceover. It's not Frank Sinatra's voice.
- 3:24Speaker 6: He goes, grazie, tanti baci.
- 3:28Speaker 5: And it's hysterical because they kind of voiced over Frank Sinatra.
- 3:31Speaker 5: But the bottom line is, Mr. Sinatra at his very best.
- 3:35Speaker 5: In a studio, no audience. And he's got Ralph Pena
- 3:40Speaker 5: on bass. He's got Irv Kotler on drums. Bill Miller
- 3:44Speaker 5: is with him on piano. Al Viola on guitar. And
- 3:48Speaker 5: I got to tell you, this was the sextet that
- 3:51Speaker 5: he kind of traveled with. And he is at his best, relaxed.
- 3:56Speaker 5: So please sit back and let's do a Columbus weekend
- 4:00Speaker 5: celebration with Frank Sinatra from Rome. with Piscopo on Bolivar's
- 4:05Speaker 5: Sinatra Showcase.
- 4:24Speaker 3: Come fly with me we'll fly we'll fly away.
- 4:29Speaker 7: If you can use some.
- 4:31Speaker 3: Exotic booze there's the bar in far Bombay come on
- 4:36Speaker 3: fly with me we'll fly we'll fly away.
- 4:40Speaker 8: Come fly with me we'll float.
- 4:45Speaker 4: Down to Peru.
- 4:48Speaker 9: In Llama Land, there's a one-man band.
- 4:50Speaker 10: And he'll toot his flute for you.
- 4:53Speaker 11: Come on, fly with me, we'll blow down in the blue.
- 4:59Speaker 4: Once I get you up there, we're there.
- 5:02Speaker 12: Is rarefied.
- 5:06Speaker 3: We'll just fly starry-eyed once I get you up there
- 5:12Speaker 3: I'll be holding you so very near you might even
- 5:18Speaker 3: hear a gang of angels cheer just because we're together
- 5:23Speaker 3: when why is it such a.
- 5:25Speaker 13: Lovely day It was a very sweet meeting.
- 5:57Speaker 5: Night and day Night and day.
- 6:22Speaker 14: You are the one.
- 6:25Speaker 15: Only you beneath the moon or under the sun.
- 6:31Speaker 3: Whether near to me or far No matter, darling, where
- 6:36Speaker 3: you are I think of you Day and night Night
- 6:43Speaker 3: and day why is it so that this longing for
- 6:51Speaker 3: you follows wherever i go in the roaring tropics boom
- 6:58Speaker 3: in the silence of my lonely.
- 7:00Speaker 16: Room i think of you dead night night and day.
- 7:10Speaker 9: Is it all such.
- 7:12Speaker 3: A hungry yearning burning inside of me?
- 7:18Speaker 5: And its torment won't.
- 7:20Speaker 3: Be through to let me spend life making love to
- 7:24Speaker 3: you day and night, night and day.
- 7:55Speaker 3: Those fingers in my hair That the sly come hither
- 8:00Speaker 3: stare Strips my conscience bare It's witchcraft.
- 8:09Speaker 18: And I've got no defense.
- 8:11Speaker 3: For it The heat is too intense for it What
- 8:17Speaker 3: good would common sense.
- 8:18Speaker 5: For it do?
- 8:22Speaker 4: Cause it's witchcraft.
- 8:25Speaker 3: Cuckoo witchcraft. And although I know it's strictly taboo. When
- 8:38Speaker 3: you rouse the need in me My heart says yes
- 8:43Speaker 3: indeed in me Proceed with what you're leading me.
- 8:48Speaker 5: To It's such an ancient.
- 8:54Speaker 3: Pitch, but one that I'd never switch. There ain't no
- 9:00Speaker 3: nicer witch than you.
- 9:10Speaker 19: Okay, here we go.
- 9:13Speaker 5: Hey, Joe Piscopo, it's Boulevard Sinatra Showcase. Is that the best?
- 9:17Speaker 5: Dante Bacci. That's a voiceover. They used a voiceover for Mr. S.
- 9:21Speaker 5: And you can see the video of Mr. S. And
- 9:25Speaker 5: they did that voiceover. But I got to tell you,
- 9:27Speaker 5: I cannot stress enough. If you get a chance, let
- 9:30Speaker 5: me tell you what. Hit me on X with you
- 9:32Speaker 5: at Jersey Joe Biscuit. But we're live.
- 9:34Speaker 4: We're live.
- 9:35Speaker 5: Live from New York right now. Live as live can be.
- 9:38Speaker 5: And I know this may be Sunday because I know
- 9:40Speaker 5: we syndicate across. I know Palm Springs. I know you're listening.
- 9:44Speaker 5: It's a Sunday morning, you know. But we wanted to
- 9:46Speaker 5: do a Saturday Night Live with Piscopo. And so, you know,
- 9:50Speaker 5: I want to I want to kind of get that
- 9:51Speaker 5: out of there. But I'm going to try to send
- 9:54Speaker 5: out the website. Mr. S at his best in a
- 9:58Speaker 5: studio in Rome. Beautiful. Let me cut to, if I may,
- 10:02Speaker 5: to Catania, and that's in Sicily. When Frank Sinatra was
- 10:06Speaker 5: in Sicily in 1987, and he was before a crowd,
- 10:13Speaker 5: and he says in Italian, I am Siciliano. Io sono Siciliano.
- 10:19Speaker 5: I'm from Sicily. I am Sicilian. And the crowd goes
- 10:22Speaker 5: crazy because his father came from Sicily. And then I'm
- 10:26Speaker 5: going to run right from that, Elias, if I may,
- 10:30Speaker 5: into a performance 1987, again in June, to Verona, Italy
- 10:36Speaker 5: that he played. And he played Pennies from Heaven. And
- 10:40Speaker 5: then it starts to rain. Remember I told you this before.
- 10:43Speaker 5: It starts to rain, and Mr. S has a full
- 10:45Speaker 5: orchestra behind him, and he steps out into the rain.
- 10:48Speaker 5: And he gets soaked in the rain, and the crowd
- 10:52Speaker 5: loves it. So here's Frank Sinatra first. You'll hear him
- 10:54Speaker 5: in Italy declaring that he is of Sicilian descent, you know,
- 10:59Speaker 5: in Italy. And then we'll go into Pennies from Heaven.
- 11:02Speaker 5: Boulevard's Sinatra Showcase with Joe Piscopo.
- 11:11Speaker 3: I would like to say that.
- 11:15Speaker 3: I don't know enough Italian to speak to you in Italian,
- 11:17Speaker 3: but I want to say I love you dearly for
- 11:21Speaker 3: coming tonight to see the show.
- 11:22Speaker 21: Vorrei dirvi che sono felice che siate venuti qui stasera.
- 11:37Speaker 5: E sono siciliano.
- 11:49Speaker 3: My father was born here in Catania.
- 12:05Speaker 9: You are at home.
- 12:07Speaker 22: You are at home.
- 12:08Speaker 3: And I want to say that I haven't been in
- 12:14Speaker 3: Italy in a long time. And it's a pleasure to
- 12:16Speaker 3: be here. I love the fact that you all came
- 12:18Speaker 3: to see the show. I'm so thrilled.
- 12:20Speaker 19: I'm very happy.
- 12:45Speaker 23: A perfect.
- 12:54Speaker 7: Song.
- 12:54Speaker 24: Every time it rains, it rains.
- 12:59Speaker 23: Pennies from heaven Don't you know every cloud contains Lyra
- 13:07Speaker 23: from heaven.
- 13:10Speaker 25: You'll find your fortunes falling.
- 13:14Speaker 24: All over the town.
- 13:18Speaker 23: Be sure that your umbrella Is.
- 13:22Speaker 24: Upside down.
- 13:25Speaker 25: Trade them for a package of Sunshine and pretty flowers
- 13:33Speaker 25: If you want the things you love You got to
- 13:38Speaker 25: have showers.
- 13:42Speaker 26: So when you hear it thunder, don't run under the tree.
- 13:48Speaker 24: There'll be pennies from heaven for you and me.
- 14:06Speaker 14: So so.
- 14:57Speaker 24: I was saying a minute ago, every time it rains,
- 15:00Speaker 24: it's going to rain pennies from heaven.
- 15:05Speaker 13: Don't you know every cloud contains lots of pennies from heaven?
- 15:14Speaker 13: You find your fortunes falling all over the town. Be sure,
- 15:22Speaker 13: be sure that your.
- 15:24Speaker 25: Umbrella is laying out there and it's upside down.
- 15:31Speaker 26: Trade them for a package of lots of sunshine and
- 15:35Speaker 26: beautiful flowers. If you want all the things you love, babe,
- 15:41Speaker 26: you just have to have showers. Don't run under the
- 15:51Speaker 26: tree There'll be pennies from heaven For you and me
- 15:59Speaker 26: For you and for you and for.
- 16:02Speaker 24: You Frank Sinatra live from Verona, Italy.
- 16:16Speaker 7: 1987, June 20th.
- 16:16Speaker 5: Yes, 1987. and in Catania right after that. Hey, it's
- 16:25Speaker 5: Joe Piscopo's Boulevard Sinatra Showcase. We've got a break in
- 16:28Speaker 5: about 30 seconds. Sal Valentinetti at the same event. We
- 16:32Speaker 5: can't tell you. We're in an undisclosed location in New York.
- 16:36Speaker 5: It's Valentinetti and Piscopo, and we're having a great time.
- 16:39Speaker 5: I think we're legal, though, aren't we? Live from an
- 16:42Speaker 5: undisclosed location in the heart of downtown New York City,
- 16:49Speaker 5: the Boulevard Sinatra Showcase. Sal Valentinetti's with us. We got
- 16:55Speaker 5: Arthur Lee from Lifehack. I got Mario from Little Italy.
- 16:58Speaker 5: We're coming right back. Boulevard Sinatra Showcase.
- 17:01Speaker 2: This is Boulevard Sinatra Showcase. This is Bolivar's Sinatra Showcase
- 17:29Speaker 2: on Music Radio.
- 17:48Speaker 4: This is both of us.
- 17:50Speaker 2: Sinatra Showcase with your host, Joe Piscopo on music radio.
- 17:58Speaker 5: Hey, Joe, on the radio, both of us, Sinatra Showcase.
- 18:00Speaker 5: So proud to have you with us running out of
- 18:02Speaker 5: the mothership in New York on W.A.B.C. syndicated all around
- 18:06Speaker 5: the country. And I know you're listening around the world
- 18:09Speaker 5: on W.A.B.C. Radio dot com. I got to give a
- 18:11Speaker 5: shout out to our bosses, John Katsimatidis and Margot. At
- 18:14Speaker 5: the same event, they were on one side of the room.
- 18:16Speaker 5: I was in the poor seats. They were not. And
- 18:20Speaker 5: I was on the other side, you know. Oh, Monsignor,
- 18:24Speaker 5: how are you? Gigantiello. Monsignor, great to have you with us.
- 18:28Speaker 5: Can you give us a radio blessing, sir? You know,
- 18:31Speaker 5: give us your parish, if you'd be so kind. Our
- 18:33Speaker 5: Lady of Mount Carmel in Williamsburg. We have the great
- 18:36Speaker 5: feast of the Julio. That's right. Which is more famous
- 18:39Speaker 5: than ever. Congratulations on that.
- 18:41Speaker 27: Social media.
- 18:42Speaker 28: Yeah.
- 18:43Speaker 5: Can you do a blessing on the air?
- 18:45Speaker 29: Of course.
- 18:45Speaker 5: God bless everyone. We all need a little God in
- 18:48Speaker 5: our lives. Blessings to all. Good health, happiness, and peace.
- 18:52Speaker 5: Monsignor Jamie, world famous, as you're listening all around the country,
- 18:57Speaker 5: from Brooklyn, but a really sweetheart of a guy. That
- 19:00Speaker 5: was a great speech you made before, too. Thank you.
- 19:03Speaker 5: And you said, on Monday when we have the Columbus
- 19:05Speaker 5: Day Parade, may there be no rain. That was great.
- 19:08Speaker 5: Thank you.
- 19:09Speaker 24: God bless you all.
- 19:09Speaker 5: Thank you, Monsignor. God bless you, too, sir. Thank you
- 19:12Speaker 5: so much. good guy, gosh, I've known a lot of
- 19:14Speaker 5: these folks, as you listen on the radio, the Episcopal,
- 19:16Speaker 5: on Boulevard Sinatra Showcase, these are all like, it's family,
- 19:19Speaker 5: and then you're probably listening outside of maybe streaming, and
- 19:23Speaker 5: you're saying, what's going on in New York, and you
- 19:25Speaker 5: think New York's like a big, big town, it's not
- 19:26Speaker 5: a big, big town, it's a small town, everybody knows
- 19:28Speaker 5: each other, we're all Italian, we're Jewish, we're black, Latino,
- 19:31Speaker 5: we don't care, we love everybody, you know, and it's
- 19:34Speaker 5: the way it is, and that, but here we're celebrating
- 19:36Speaker 5: the Italians, because of Columbus Day, and we're celebrating a
- 19:40Speaker 5: a man that all the Italians looked up to, Francis
- 19:42Speaker 5: Albert Sinatra. And I'll get back to it. Let me
- 19:44Speaker 5: go to, uh this is very interesting i found this
- 19:47Speaker 5: is frank sinatra in milano and this i just found
- 19:51Speaker 5: this and he was doing a show with liza manelli
- 19:53Speaker 5: and sammy and this is 1988 how about that to
- 19:58Speaker 5: be specific wednesday april 6th 1988 in milan we just
- 20:02Speaker 5: we broadcast the show last week from milano we just
- 20:04Speaker 5: got back from milan from lake como beautiful beautiful italy
- 20:08Speaker 5: frank sinatra had He pours himself a drink. It's really
- 20:13Speaker 5: like 30 seconds. Can we listen to Mr. Sinatra addressing
- 20:16Speaker 5: the crowd in Milano?
- 20:17Speaker 28: Elias, please.
- 20:17Speaker 30: Buonasera, eccoci qua. Siamo al Palatru Sardi. È animatissimo. Nonostante
- 20:23Speaker 30: la pioggia, io sono Lara Sepolvi.
- 20:25Speaker 9: Saluto.
- 20:26Speaker 30: E direi che dovremmo annunciare questo meraviglioso spettacolo che direi
- 20:31Speaker 30: che è veramente l'evento dell'anno con Frank.
- 20:32Speaker 5: Sinatra, Liza Minnelli e Sammy Davis Jr.
- 20:35Speaker 30: Fra pochissimo andranno in onda, andranno in scena. The artists
- 20:39Speaker 30: are in the dressing room, quiet, preparing themselves. And I
- 20:43Speaker 30: also wanted to say that the production.
- 20:47Speaker 5: Does he talk when he drinks? Does he do the
- 20:49Speaker 5: toast thing here?
- 20:50Speaker 30: But there it is on international. No, I wanted to
- 20:53Speaker 30: get Frank Sinatra speaking. I'll get that for you later.
- 20:56Speaker 5: But what I love about that is they did a
- 20:58Speaker 5: play-by-play like it's a sporting event and it was Frank Sinatra.
- 21:20Speaker 5: Now they did Liza came out and then a Sammy
- 21:23Speaker 5: came out and then they did an intermission and they
- 21:26Speaker 5: did a play by play like, cause it was the
- 21:29Speaker 5: great Frank Sinatra is. And this is Milano and his
- 21:31Speaker 5: family came from Sicily, but he really just don't, it
- 21:34Speaker 5: took him a while to go back if I may
- 21:36Speaker 5: and not to be too personal.
- 21:38Speaker 19: And I hope Mr.
- 21:38Speaker 5: Sinatra doesn't mind as he watches over all of us.
- 21:41Speaker 5: But I think he, they, they made like a, about
- 21:44Speaker 5: the connections Mr. Sinatra had, and I don't think he
- 21:46Speaker 5: wanted to go or felt comfortable in Italy. He went
- 21:49Speaker 5: to Italy, and he just crushed it. He absolutely crushed it.
- 21:52Speaker 5: Do we have time for Sorrento? Elias, are we going in?
- 21:57Speaker 5: Do we have a little time for that? This is
- 21:59Speaker 5: with a, I think, a Sicilian accent, Frank Sinatra from
- 22:04Speaker 5: the Columbia years, 1943 to 1952, Torno Sorrento.
- 22:17Speaker 31: Look at the sea, how beautiful it is.
- 22:26Speaker 11: They inspire so much feeling.
- 22:30Speaker 8: Like your sweet accent.
- 22:35Speaker 5: That makes me.
- 22:39Speaker 31: De sto fa sonare Senti come lieve sale Dai giardini
- 22:54Speaker 31: odore d'aranci.
- 22:59Speaker 5: Un profumo non vi ha uguale.
- 23:06Speaker 14: Per chi palpita d'amora.
- 23:14Speaker 32: E tu dici io partio a Dio Ti allontani dal
- 23:23Speaker 32: mio coro.
- 23:26Speaker 33: Questa terra dell'amora Hai la forza di lasciar.
- 23:44Speaker 4: Ma non mi.
- 23:48Speaker 14: Fuggirai Non darmi più tormento.
- 24:00Speaker 33: Forna sorrento.
- 24:07Speaker 8: Non farmi più tormento.
- 24:24Speaker 5: Frank Sinatra is singing, I think, with a Sicilian accent.
- 24:27Speaker 5: Joe Biscopo on the radio. Let me go to Janet
- 24:29Speaker 5: real quick before we break. Sorry to keep you waiting, Janet.
- 24:31Speaker 5: Always appreciate you listening. How you doing? And, you know,
- 24:35Speaker 5: happy Columbus Day weekend.
- 24:37Speaker 27: Happy Columbus Day, Joe. You had a great show for
- 24:40Speaker 27: the last couple of weeks. It was lovely listening to
- 24:43Speaker 27: you and your stories. Thank you. Glad you had a
- 24:46Speaker 27: safe trip back. So now we have to play homesick.
- 24:49Speaker 27: That's all by Jenkins, right? You're going to be homesick
- 24:52Speaker 27: for at least.
- 24:54Speaker 19: Homesick.
- 24:55Speaker 5: You know what? That's a great idea. And we had
- 24:57Speaker 5: a great time. Janet, thank you always for listening. Captain,
- 25:00Speaker 5: appreciate it. We wish you all the best for Columbus
- 25:02Speaker 5: Day weekend.
- 25:03Speaker 27: Joe, I have one more thing to say. Can I?
- 25:06Speaker 24: Yeah, sure.
- 25:07Speaker 5: Real quick.
- 25:07Speaker 28: Go ahead.
- 25:08Speaker 27: You know where I'm going with this. Did you bring
- 25:11Speaker 27: me a souvenir to Italy?
- 25:14Speaker 5: Yes, I will for sure. From Italy. Thank you, Janet.
- 25:18Speaker 5: Joe Piscopo, Boulevard Sinatra Showcase. We're coming right back.
- 25:31Speaker 2: This is Bolivar's Sinatra Showcase with your host, Joe Piscopo,
- 25:37Speaker 2: on Music Radio.
- 25:38Speaker 34: Music The chairman of the board, Old Blue Eyes, the
- 25:53Speaker 34: Sultan of Swoon.
- 25:54Speaker 9: Ladies and gentlemen, Frank Sinatra!
- 25:57Speaker 2: This is Bulova's Sinatra Showcase, with your host, Joe Piscopo,
- 26:03Speaker 2: on Music Radio.
- 26:07Speaker 5: Boulevard Sinatra Showcase with Joe Piscopo live from New York, baby.
- 26:11Speaker 5: On Columbus Day weekend, we got a big parade coming up.
- 26:14Speaker 5: It's going to be great. You can check it out,
- 26:15Speaker 5: by the way, on ABC7. Just to give a plug,
- 26:18Speaker 5: that's WABC television in New York. And I did a
- 26:21Speaker 5: little visit to Little Italy. Speaking of which, we have
- 26:24Speaker 5: the gentleman. Thank you, Arthur Lee from Lifehack is with me.
- 26:27Speaker 5: He brings me espresso. I love it, you know. And
- 26:30Speaker 5: you're Norwegian. You're going to be in the Norwegian Day Parade.
- 26:35Speaker 5: Thank you. God bless you, man. And thanks for saving 7,000 lives,
- 26:39Speaker 5: my friend. God bless you for that. 4,000 children. That's
- 26:42Speaker 5: absolutely right. And in any case, let me just, while
- 26:46Speaker 5: we have him here, Mario. Caparelli is here. He is
- 26:51Speaker 5: from Fili di San Gennaro Incorporated. And Mario is the
- 26:55Speaker 5: boss of Bosses Il Capo. Tutto il capo. But he
- 27:00Speaker 5: runs like the whole San Gennaro Festival. And quickly, before
- 27:04Speaker 5: you go, we're going to get back to the music. Mario, congratulations.
- 27:07Speaker 5: Best San Gennaro Festival ever, man.
- 27:09Speaker 35: Well, I want to say last year was pretty good.
- 27:11Speaker 35: She was the grand marshal. I don't want to go
- 27:12Speaker 35: away from that.
- 27:13Speaker 5: Me and Christopher Macchio on the same float singing back
- 27:17Speaker 5: and forth, man.
- 27:18Speaker 35: That would cost us a million dollars to get you
- 27:20Speaker 35: two together to do that. But yeah, this was a
- 27:22Speaker 35: tremendous year, the 100th anniversary. Unfortunately, we lost the parade
- 27:25Speaker 35: at the end. But it's still a spectacular year. Looking
- 27:28Speaker 35: forward to next year and having you involved and being
- 27:30Speaker 35: with you at the Columbus Day Parade, doing the interview
- 27:33Speaker 35: with you, which will air on Monday.
- 27:34Speaker 24: Spectacular.
- 27:35Speaker 35: I can't wait to watch it.
- 27:36Speaker 24: It was great.
- 27:37Speaker 5: And also, Dominic Cheney was down there this year. At
- 27:40Speaker 5: 90 what?
- 27:41Speaker 35: 93, I believe. And he performed for like 45 minutes
- 27:45Speaker 35: in front of 500 people.
- 27:47Speaker 5: It was insane. What a great feast.
- 27:48Speaker 34: Amazing.
- 27:49Speaker 5: Congratulations. Great job, Mario. I know you're the candy man.
- 27:52Speaker 5: I don't want to ask why they call you that,
- 27:53Speaker 5: but that's your nickname. The cannoli, man. And thank you,
- 27:57Speaker 5: my brother. Thank you, Mary. That is the San Gennaro
- 27:59Speaker 5: Festival out of New York City, which is just, I'm
- 28:02Speaker 5: telling you, it just exploded this year. And it was very,
- 28:05Speaker 5: very exciting. And I was a Grand Marshal last year
- 28:07Speaker 5: and so proud to be. All right, let's get back
- 28:10Speaker 5: to the music. You know what? There's different versions of
- 28:12Speaker 5: Mambo Italiano and, you know, Rosemary Clooney. George Clooney's, I guess,
- 28:18Speaker 5: aunt did it. But I'm telling you, I love the
- 28:21Speaker 5: Dean Martin version. And so on this Columbus Day, live
- 28:25Speaker 5: from New York on the Bolova Sinatra Showcase. Let's go
- 28:29Speaker 5: to the great Dean Martin, Dino Paul Crocetti, and Mambo Italiano.
- 28:34Speaker 36: A boy went back to Napoli Because he missed the
- 28:39Speaker 36: scenery The native dancers and the charming songs But wait
- 28:47Speaker 36: a minute Something's wrong Because now it's Hey.
- 28:58Speaker 37: Mambo, Mambo Italiano Hey Mambo, Mambo Italiano Go, go, go,

- 29:20Speaker 37: trying on gelato with the fish baccalando.
- 29:23Speaker 38: Hey, Goomba, I love how you dance the Roomba. But
- 29:28Speaker 38: take some advice by Sano, learn how to Mambo.
- 29:32Speaker 5: If you're going to be a square, you ain't going.
- 29:35Speaker 7: To go nowhere.
- 29:36Speaker 37: Hey, Mambo, Mambo Italiano.
- 29:39Speaker 4: Hey, Mambo.
- 29:40Speaker 38: Mambo Italiano. Go, go, Joe, shake it like a Giovanna. Hey,
- 29:45Speaker 38: no kiss to DJ, you'll get happy in the pizza

- 29:59Speaker 28: Thank you.
- 30:07Speaker 12: Hey, child, you don't have to go to the school.
- 30:12Speaker 12: Choose to make it with a beat.
- 30:14Speaker 39: It's like a bean.
- 30:16Speaker 37: Kid, you good looking, but you don't know what you're cooking.
- 30:19Speaker 38: Hey, Mambo, Mambo Italiano.
- 30:23Speaker 39: Hey, Mambo, Mambo Italiano.
- 30:26Speaker 9: Ho, ho, ho, you mixed up a Siciliano.
- 30:29Speaker 24: Hey, look, it's a DJ.
- 30:30Speaker 38: You get happy in the feature when you Mambo Italiano.
- 30:42Speaker 29: Now I hope that you won't think I'm chauvinistic.
- 30:55Speaker 19: I'm with him, whatever.
- 30:57Speaker 39: That means.
- 31:02Speaker 10: Here's a song that's completely altruistic.
- 31:08Speaker 40: I'm still with him, whatever that means. With one thing
- 31:16Speaker 40: in common, win or lose, win or lose.
- 31:21Speaker 5: With apologies to the Irish.
- 31:26Speaker 29: We're glad that we're Italian.
- 31:29Speaker 4: Authentic abruzzi.
- 31:38Speaker 5: I own that large casino.
- 31:41Speaker 19: And I have a hunk of Puccini.
- 31:47Speaker 10: For us each night's a thriller. Chianti flowing free.
- 31:56Speaker 39: I thought you owned the villa.
- 31:59Speaker 10: I still repeat Puccini.
- 32:04Speaker 4: I sink a stream.
- 32:06Speaker 12: But Chinese food, that's strictly for Yanks.
- 32:13Speaker 5: Food Asian, Caucasian.
- 32:17Speaker 19: That's for Sadie Banks.

- 32:22Speaker 10: Will someone pass a scallion? Which way is Sicily? We're
- 32:31Speaker 10: glad that we're Italian.
- 32:33Speaker 5: But yes, hey joe on the radio glad that we're
- 32:44Speaker 5: italian you know it's so funny that that was i
- 32:46Speaker 5: know i don't know for a fact but i know
- 32:48Speaker 5: that sammy khan probably wrote that song for dean martin
- 32:52Speaker 5: and frank sinatra they were two buddies i was just
- 32:54Speaker 5: telling our friend uh arthur i was just saying how
- 32:57Speaker 5: when dean martin had that party you know the story
- 32:59Speaker 5: they had the uh It was like a party at
- 33:01Speaker 5: Dean Martin's house. And then the police showed up and
- 33:04Speaker 5: Frank Sinatra came out and said, hey, officers, what's the problem?
- 33:06Speaker 5: He says, well, we got to complain that it's too
- 33:09Speaker 5: much noise here in Beverly Hills. And then and then
- 33:11Speaker 5: Dean Martin came out and Frank said to Dean, he said,
- 33:15Speaker 5: what do you believe that somebody actually called and complained
- 33:17Speaker 5: about the party? And Dean Martin said, yeah, that was me.
- 33:19Speaker 5: I want to go to bed. I want to play
- 33:20Speaker 5: golf in the morning. So it was a true story.
- 33:23Speaker 5: You know, you know it. I know you know that story.
- 33:25Speaker 5: But Dean Martin calling. the police on himself so he
- 33:30Speaker 5: could go right to bed. Hey, Joe Piscopo, can I
- 33:32Speaker 5: go to Babylon Eddie real quick? If I may, Babylon Eddie,
- 33:35Speaker 5: as we go to Columbus Day, I met Babylon Eddie
- 33:38Speaker 5: as I was wandering. You know, I don't get... Getting
- 33:41Speaker 5: a hotel room... getting a car. You think it's easy.
- 33:44Speaker 5: It's not. You think I'm beyond the people.
- 33:46Speaker 24: I'm not.
- 33:46Speaker 5: I'm one of the people. I got to look to
- 33:48Speaker 5: Eddie to get me a car to drive me home. Hey,
- 33:50Speaker 5: happy Columbus Day weekend, my dear friend. How you doing?
- 33:52Speaker 28: Happy October and Columbus Heritage Month. Shout out to my neighbor,
- 34:00Speaker 28: your buddy, and Joe. I got announced to America that
- 34:04Speaker 28: you're importing an olive oil and I want everybody to
- 34:07Speaker 28: buy it because it's going to be so good. It
- 34:09Speaker 28: won't burn the back of their throats. And that broadcast
- 34:12Speaker 28: last week, it was extra good. No call-ins, more music,
- 34:16Speaker 28: Tony Bennett, and a song from a childhood. And one
- 34:19Speaker 28: more thing, John. Monday, you're going to have a great
- 34:22Speaker 28: time with yours and my friend, John Katsimatidis.
- 34:25Speaker 19: You really are.
- 34:27Speaker 28: And, Joe, afterwards, if you have any transportation problems, you
- 34:31Speaker 28: give me a shout. I'll get you home, my friend,
- 34:33Speaker 28: because kindness to my friends, I love you. You're my
- 34:37Speaker 28: big brother in comedy, people tell me.
- 34:41Speaker 5: Hey, Eddie, thank you. Stand by. Stay by the phone,
- 34:44Speaker 5: all right? Hey, here comes Sal now. Hey, guys. Is
- 34:47Speaker 5: that the wildest thing, though? Is that the wildest thing
- 34:49Speaker 5: that this guy, Eddie, actually found me as I was
- 34:52Speaker 5: wandering around after the Columbus Day Parade? And then he goes,
- 34:56Speaker 5: I'll get your car. He goes, I don't get a car.
- 34:58Speaker 5: Let me go. Let me go through the calls. Kathy
- 35:00Speaker 5: in New Jersey. Hi, Kathy. How you doing?
- 35:02Speaker 34: Hey, Joe.
- 35:03Speaker 20: You guys are having so much fun. This is amazing.
- 35:08Speaker 20: I just wanted to mention, it doesn't get better than this.
- 35:10Speaker 20: You've got Sinatra's music. We got a blessing from the Monsignor.
- 35:14Speaker 20: And then you're live from New York.
- 35:16Speaker 42: This is incredible.
- 35:17Speaker 20: So I just have to tell you this quickly. My
- 35:21Speaker 20: grandfather was from Catania. So that was kind of really
- 35:24Speaker 20: cool hearing that. that live yeah anyway so just have
- 35:29Speaker 20: a great.
- 35:30Speaker 5: Uh Kathy you're the best have.
- 35:32Speaker 20: A great Christmas on Columbus Day.
- 35:35Speaker 5: Never forget never forget we're Italian and we're proud Kathy
- 35:38Speaker 5: thank you thinking about your dad from Catania let me
- 35:41Speaker 5: go to Sally in New Jersey no not Sal Valentinetti
- 35:44Speaker 5: I got Sal right next to me here hey Sally

- 35:58Speaker 20: And I wish you a happy Columbus Month and a
- 36:02Speaker 20: happy Italian Heritage Month.
- 36:04Speaker 38: And we definitely don't call it Indigenous Peoples Day.
- 36:08Speaker 43: That's Danny Aiello's second cousin three times removed.
- 36:11Speaker 5: Is that right, Sal? Is that right?
- 36:12Speaker 30: No, no.
- 36:13Speaker 20: Unfortunately, no.
- 36:14Speaker 5: Because if I was, I'd get some money coming to me.
- 36:19Speaker 5: That was just Sal Valentinetti asking. We're just asking. You
- 36:22Speaker 5: are very kind, Sal. Thank you for listening, my brother.
- 36:24Speaker 5: And I wish you all the best on Columbus Day weekend.
- 36:27Speaker 5: And happy Columbus Day to you and yours, Sal.
- 36:30Speaker 34: Thank you.
- 36:31Speaker 5: God bless you, brother. Thanks so much. Hey, Joe on
- 36:33Speaker 5: the radio.
- 36:33Speaker 24: It's 800-848-9222.
- 36:33Speaker 5: We're live as live can be. I was asked not
- 36:38Speaker 5: to reveal the location, but we're having such fun. It's
- 36:42Speaker 5: a big Italian event, and we're having a blast. I
- 36:44Speaker 5: wanted to celebrate, and I'm in a tuxedo, and I
- 36:47Speaker 5: just wanted to show support. And I'm with my dear friends,
- 36:50Speaker 5: Arthur Lee from Lifehack. And then we have Phil Guarneri
- 36:52Speaker 5: from Empire State Bank. Oh, my God. Bill Camastro was
- 36:55Speaker 5: here from Gold Coast Cadillac. And everybody was there. So
- 36:58Speaker 5: we kind of had like my sponsors and everybody was
- 37:01Speaker 5: having a great time. And so it got late. Did
- 37:04Speaker 5: they close up shop yet, guys? They're closing it up
- 37:07Speaker 5: a little bit. That's it. Not so much because you're here, Sally.
- 37:12Speaker 5: Did you get your car? I have to explain. I
- 37:16Speaker 5: got to explain because when people listen on the radio,
- 37:18Speaker 5: they don't understand. They think New York, New York, you
- 37:21Speaker 5: get everything, you get this. No, but Sal comes in
- 37:24Speaker 5: from Long Island, which is about seven, eight hours away. No,
- 37:27Speaker 5: it's far. It's far. So now he comes in.
- 37:29Speaker 24: It's right next to London.
- 37:32Speaker 5: Then he drives in, and he shows up always respectful.
- 37:35Speaker 5: Sal Valentinetti knows respect and loyalty and friendship. I love that.
- 37:39Speaker 5: And he's the future of entertainment. He had to park
- 37:42Speaker 5: his car, and now there's no parking lots around him.
- 37:46Speaker 43: There's no parking lots. I went parked on Pearl Street.
- 37:50Speaker 43: In a garage, I get out the car. I go, wow,
- 37:52Speaker 43: what a beautiful car.
- 37:53Speaker 24: I said, thank you. Unfortunately, it's not a Cadillac.
- 37:56Speaker 5: It's a Lincoln.
- 37:57Speaker 24: Oh, oh, that's all right.
- 37:59Speaker 5: That's all right.
- 37:59Speaker 43: Listen, listen, your pal over there at Gold Coast is
- 38:02Speaker 43: going to change all that for me.
- 38:03Speaker 28: I know.
- 38:03Speaker 5: I know it.
- 38:04Speaker 43: But listen, so I park. He goes, listen, I closed
- 38:06Speaker 43: the garage at 1145. I said, 1145? He says, yeah,
- 38:09Speaker 43: midnight we close up. I said, so what happens at midnight?
- 38:13Speaker 43: He goes, your town car turns into a pumpkin. You
- 38:15Speaker 43: got to take that home.
- 38:16Speaker 19: That's it.
- 38:17Speaker 5: That's it. So you got it out. I got to go.
- 38:18Speaker 5: I got to get my glass slipper. I got to
- 38:20Speaker 5: do the whole thing. And you did the usual Italian thing.
- 38:22Speaker 5: You duked the guy enough. I gave the guy.
- 38:24Speaker 24: I gave the guy.
- 38:24Speaker 43: Andrew Jackson put it right in his palm. He kept
- 38:27Speaker 43: it up nice and close.
- 38:30Speaker 5: Sal Valentinetti here, which you got to watch. By the way,
- 38:33Speaker 5: let me say, Sal, this is the best. And we're
- 38:35Speaker 5: getting to the music in a second. But, you know,
- 38:38Speaker 5: Hoboken Mary, who calls in? Has she called in yet, Elias?
- 38:40Speaker 5: I'm looking at Elias in Midtown. Elias is in Midtown.
- 38:42Speaker 5: I'm downtown. So we're all downtown. So now Hoboken Mary
- 38:46Speaker 5: is opening for Sal Valentinetti at the Basie Theater. Hoboken
- 38:50Speaker 5: Mary is opening, and it came from this show. That's right.
- 38:53Speaker 5: It came from the Bull of a Show here. And
- 38:57Speaker 5: when is that date, please? It's November 29th at the
- 39:00Speaker 5: Count Basie in Red Bank. That's beautiful. It's a beautiful theater.
- 39:02Speaker 5: By the way, I've been hearing great things. People calling in.
- 39:05Speaker 5: You crushed it in Hoboken. Wait, let's bring, wait, Hoboken
- 39:10Speaker 5: Mary's on the phone right now.
- 39:12Speaker 7: Look out.
- 39:13Speaker 5: Round of applause for Hoboken Mary, baby.
- 39:15Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 39:20Speaker 5: Mary, you got it. You're opening for Sal. I love
- 39:23Speaker 5: Sal's right here with me now, Mary. This is great news.
- 39:26Speaker 42: Oh, we got people spying tickets like crazy. but he
- 39:30Speaker 42: didn't even put my name down. Imagine.
- 39:35Speaker 5: Wait, you're not on the tickets?
- 39:37Speaker 4: No, no.
- 39:38Speaker 42: My name's not on the tickets.
- 39:40Speaker 43: Hoboken Mary's already negotiated. She's already negotiated her comps into
- 39:47Speaker 43: the deal.
- 39:48Speaker 5: I have to have a bottle of Dom Perignon on.
- 39:50Speaker 24: Ice for her.
- 39:52Speaker 5: I got to send her a car now. She wants
- 39:53Speaker 5: to come on the ticket. Go ahead. Go ahead.
- 39:55Speaker 42: You got to put Hoboken Mary is going to be
- 39:57Speaker 42: with Sal.
- 39:59Speaker 44: Hoboken Mary, I don't know if you know this, but
- 40:02Speaker 44: you're on the radio right now telling all of the world,
- 40:06Speaker 44: not just New York, people listen to the Boulevard Showcase
- 40:08Speaker 44: all over the world.
- 40:10Speaker 5: Everyone knows that Hoboken Mary is opening up.
- 40:12Speaker 43: The South of Voice November 29th at the Count Basie
- 40:14Speaker 43: Theater in Red Bank, New Jersey.
- 40:16Speaker 24: It's a known fact.
- 40:16Speaker 42: That's right. I agree with you, Sal, 100%. We're going
- 40:20Speaker 42: to have some time. At Red Bank, the mobile. But anyway,
- 40:24Speaker 42: I wasn't calling and talking about that. I was going
- 40:27Speaker 42: to say hello to Joe because I missed him when
- 40:29Speaker 42: he was in Italy. I think I even dreamt of
- 40:32Speaker 42: him while he was away.
- 40:36Speaker 5: I missed you too. I was thinking about you because
- 40:37Speaker 5: we prerecorded in Milan just to make sure it got
- 40:41Speaker 5: out okay. But it was really great. I love all
- 40:43Speaker 5: the Italians. We're just celebrating all the Italians, Mary. Yeah,
- 40:47Speaker 5: go ahead. What are you thinking?
- 40:50Speaker 42: And Joe, when you were on that little boat and
- 40:52Speaker 42: you almost threw up.
- 40:56Speaker 5: You know, they put.
- 40:56Speaker 42: You said you took dramedy before you went on.
- 41:00Speaker 5: No, the float wasn't little. Joe is just so masculine. No, no, no.
- 41:05Speaker 5: We got on a boat. We were in Lake Como.
- 41:07Speaker 5: And then we're going to go, oh, we're going to Bellagio.
- 41:10Speaker 5: I go, I've been there. In Vegas, you mean? No,
- 41:12Speaker 5: this is the real Bellagio. This is what Steve Wynn
- 41:15Speaker 5: named it after. And we got on a boat. It
- 41:17Speaker 5: was one of those wooden boats. You know, those wooden
- 41:18Speaker 5: Italian boats. Like, only the Italians can. And it's bouncing
- 41:23Speaker 5: around like Como. And I'm saying, I'm trying to keep, like,
- 41:26Speaker 5: Dramamine help. What am I going to tell you, Barry?
- 41:28Speaker 5: You are absolutely right.
- 41:31Speaker 42: When I saw your face, Joe, I laughed because you went, mmm.
- 41:37Speaker 5: I did. I was good, though. I held on. Mary, listen,
- 41:41Speaker 5: I love it. How did your thing go at Red's,
- 41:44Speaker 5: if I may ask? How was that?
- 41:45Speaker 42: Oh, it was wonderful, Joe. I had 17 people there
- 41:49Speaker 42: in that bad weather, Joe. And I didn't even want
- 41:52Speaker 42: to go, Joe. I wanted him to postpone it. But
- 41:55Speaker 42: you know him. He won't postpone anything. So I went
- 41:58Speaker 42: that night.
- 41:59Speaker 9: I did.
- 42:00Speaker 42: Because I wasn't feeling good the whole week, Joe. I
- 42:03Speaker 42: didn't talk for four days. But anyway, Joe, I got
- 42:06Speaker 42: on the stage. I didn't want to get off. I
- 42:08Speaker 42: was on for a half hour.
- 42:10Speaker 4: A half hour, Joe.
- 42:11Speaker 42: Oh, my gosh.
- 42:12Speaker 5: You did a half hour.
- 42:13Speaker 42: We did a half hour.
- 42:14Speaker 5: Did you get paid?
- 42:15Speaker 18: Yeah.
- 42:16Speaker 24: Go ahead.
- 42:16Speaker 5: Did you get paid? Can I ask if you got paid?
- 42:19Speaker 3: No.

- 50:37Speaker 5: a Sinatra showcase with Piscopo live on the radio, live
- 50:41Speaker 5: from New York, New York. Happy Columbus Day weekend. We're
- 50:44Speaker 5: coming right back at you.
- 51:02Speaker 2: This is Bolivar's Sinatra Showcase with your host, Joe Piscopo,
- 51:08Speaker 2: on Music Radio. Music This is Bolivar's Sinatra Showcase.
- 51:30Speaker 4: I have discovered a.
- 51:31Speaker 3: Young man whom I think is going to be a superstar.
- 51:34Speaker 3: He's got a good stage presence, great set of pipes.
- 51:37Speaker 4: He's Italian.
- 51:39Speaker 3: And he has a unique way with a phrase. But
- 51:41Speaker 3: more than that, there's just something I like about the guy.
- 51:44Speaker 3: You see what I think.
- 51:45Speaker 19: You'll know what I think.
- 51:47Speaker 3: Here's my new discovery, Joe Piscopo.
- 51:53Speaker 4: Yeah, baby!
- 51:53Speaker 3: Yeah!
- 51:54Speaker 5: Happy Columbus Day weekend from New York City. Live as
- 51:58Speaker 5: live can be, baby. No safety net. This ain't no podcast.
- 52:02Speaker 5: Unless you're listening on a Sunday. And then it's like
- 52:05Speaker 5: a stream, so I hope you don't mind. Hey, Joe,
- 52:07Speaker 5: on the radio, Bulova Sinatra Showcase. And a shout-out to
- 52:10Speaker 5: Michael Benevente, our fine Italian gentleman from Bulova. Appreciate that
- 52:15Speaker 5: sponsorship all these years. Also, I got to tell you,
- 52:17Speaker 5: it's Piscopo Live. We had a big event, you know.
- 52:19Speaker 5: And so I wanted to jump on the board, so
- 52:20Speaker 5: I brought my little radio kit with me, and I
- 52:23Speaker 5: went right to Elias. Elias is in Midtown at our
- 52:27Speaker 5: mothership at WABC in New York, right? So I'm like
- 52:29Speaker 5: a geek with this, you know? And thank you for
- 52:31Speaker 5: listening to us last week in Milano, but we prerecorded
- 52:35Speaker 5: that in Milan. We were in Milan, and that was
- 52:37Speaker 5: so much fun. So Elias Raff, thank you for being
- 52:40Speaker 5: so great. You're so good at what you do. the kids,
- 52:43Speaker 5: what are you, 12, not 13, 14 years, is that right,
- 52:45Speaker 5: it's like, he is, he's like, but literally 22 or
- 52:48Speaker 5: 23 years old, God bless him, we love him, Jackson
- 52:51Speaker 5: is answering the phones, 800-848-9222, Arthur Lee is with us,
- 52:55Speaker 5: you know, and I hope, and again, and again, we're
- 52:58Speaker 5: all family with John and Margo, and congratulations, they were
- 53:01Speaker 5: honored this week, and everybody downtown, you know, where I
- 53:05Speaker 5: broadcast from, and again, we're, just so you know, we
- 53:09Speaker 5: broadcast out of the facilities of the legendary WABC radio,
- 53:13Speaker 5: Vinnie Badugno and Tony Orlando and the syndicated, the great
- 53:18Speaker 5: Bruce Morrow, right? You remember Cousin Bruce. He just crushes
- 53:21Speaker 5: it every week. But Arthur Lee is with us, and
- 53:24Speaker 5: he's been a big friend of New York radio. And
- 53:27Speaker 5: Arthur invented the life hack, and the life hack, I
- 53:32Speaker 5: don't mean to do a commercial. It's not a commercial,
- 53:34Speaker 5: unless you want it to be, Arthur. We could do
- 53:36Speaker 5: a commercial, you know? But he just, as we were
- 53:39Speaker 5: here tonight, if I may, Arthur Lee, how many lives
- 53:42Speaker 5: did you save tonight with the LifeVac device?
- 53:45Speaker 51: Well, just a little God wink. As we're sitting here
- 53:47Speaker 51: talking and listening to you, and I'm so proud of you,
- 53:50Speaker 51: we saved an 11-month-old. Just at 10.58 it came over,
- 53:56Speaker 51: and the parents right here say, my husband and I
- 53:58Speaker 51: can say wholeheartedly, this device saved our baby's life. And
- 54:02Speaker 51: me and you were talking yesterday about the God winks,
- 54:06Speaker 51: and And will God know? And Ben Carson's saying it
- 54:08Speaker 51: don't matter.
- 54:10Speaker 19: It doesn't.
- 54:10Speaker 51: Well, I was sitting here, and that's a testament.
- 54:13Speaker 5: Arthur, thank you. You're a fine gentleman. And your impetus
- 54:16Speaker 5: is to save lives. And this is not a commercial.
- 54:18Speaker 5: This is just like a friend who... It's live radio.
- 54:22Speaker 5: It's live radio, baby. Oh, listen, we're going to get
- 54:24Speaker 5: to the music. But I was at the White House yesterday,
- 54:27Speaker 5: and we were celebrating the Italian-Americans. And I'm the guy
- 54:30Speaker 5: to put everybody together. And then where was my... Elias,
- 54:34Speaker 5: did I get a good seat? Was I close?
- 54:35Speaker 28: No.
- 54:36Speaker 5: Back with everybody else but everybody else that i got
- 54:39Speaker 5: in were sitting up front i just was glad i
- 54:42Speaker 5: was so happy that we're recognizing columbus day and if
- 54:45Speaker 5: you don't believe or you disagree it's okay we love
- 54:48Speaker 5: you anyway and art the league god bless you for
- 54:51Speaker 5: what you're doing and saving the lives you're saving and
- 54:54Speaker 5: to everybody at life back to your your your friends
- 54:57Speaker 5: at life back let me get to the music and
- 54:58Speaker 5: this too is from uh This is Frank Sinatra, and
- 55:03Speaker 5: this is something that he did, again, in 1962. I
- 55:07Speaker 5: just get such a kick out of this, and I
- 55:09Speaker 5: wanted to kick off Hour 2, A Bull of a
- 55:11Speaker 5: Sinatra Showcase, with Mr. Sinatra in Rome. And when I
- 55:15Speaker 5: talk to Sal Valentinetti, some of these young artists like Sal,
- 55:19Speaker 5: they know everything about Mr. S. Vinnie Madunio is like
- 55:22Speaker 5: that as well. They know everything about Frank Sinatra. They
- 55:25Speaker 5: learned about George Robinson. from England. He knows about it, right?
- 55:29Speaker 5: But this is so esoteric that it gives me great
- 55:32Speaker 5: joy to be able to play because people don't know
- 55:35Speaker 5: about this. This is Mr. S at his best in
- 55:38Speaker 5: Rome in 1962 in the middle of a tour. They
- 55:41Speaker 5: took time to sit into an Italian studio and to
- 55:45Speaker 5: do abbreviated versions of some classic songs. So let's go
- 55:49Speaker 5: on this Columbus Day weekend to Mr. Sinatra in Rome.
- 55:53Speaker 17: Grazie per il doppio incanto di Witchcraft E della tua voce, Frank.
- 55:58Speaker 52: Grazie a tutti voi e tanti baci.
- 56:18Speaker 15: Suddenly I saw you there And in foggy London town
- 56:26Speaker 15: The sun was shining everywhere A foggy day in London town.
- 56:39Speaker 3: It had me low and it had me down Looked
- 56:45Speaker 3: at the morning sun With much alarm, the British Museum,
- 56:52Speaker 3: it lost its charm.
- 56:54Speaker 4: How long, I wonder, could this thing last?
- 57:00Speaker 3: But the age of miracles, it hadn't passed. Suddenly you
- 57:10Speaker 3: were there And in foggy London town The sun was shining.
- 57:22Speaker 12: Everywhere Thank you for this day of.
- 57:27Speaker 4: Fog and.
- 57:32Speaker 30: Sun.
- 57:32Speaker 48: Thank you, Frank.
- 57:37Speaker 5: She gets too hungry.
- 58:02Speaker 3: She loves the theater, but doesn't come late. She'd never
- 58:09Speaker 3: bother with anyone she'd hate. That is why the lady
- 58:16Speaker 3: is a tramp. She doesn't like dice games with barons
- 58:23Speaker 3: and earls. She won't dish the dirt with.
- 58:34Speaker 9: The rest of the girls.
- 58:36Speaker 3: That's why the lady is a tramp. She loves the free, fine,
- 58:43Speaker 3: wild and cuckoo wind in her hair.
- 58:48Speaker 4: Life without care.
- 58:51Speaker 3: She's broke, but it's hope. Hates California because.
- 58:57Speaker 9: It's cold and it's damp.
- 59:00Speaker 3: That's why the lady, I said that's why the lady,
- 59:05Speaker 3: that is why the lady is a tramp. I love
- 59:20Speaker 3: Paris in the springtime. I love Paris in the fall.
- 59:32Speaker 3: I love Paris in the summer when it's sizzle. I
- 59:39Speaker 3: love Paris in the winter when it drizzles.
- 59:45Speaker 15: I love Paris every moment, every moment of the year.
- 59:57Speaker 18: I love Paris Why do I, do I love Paris?
- 1:00:03Speaker 3: Because my love is near.
- 1:00:10Speaker 8: I love Paris every moment.
- 1:00:13Speaker 18: Every moment of the year I love Paris My, oh my,
- 1:00:25Speaker 18: but I love Paris because my love is here.
- 1:00:34Speaker 17: Abbiamo rievocato l'eterno fascino di Parigi con la sua magica atmosfera.
- 1:00:39Speaker 5: Grazie, Frank.
- 1:00:41Speaker 19: Grazie a tutti voi.
- 1:00:45Speaker 5: Tanti baci. That is a voiceover. that they used in
- 1:00:50Speaker 5: this particular, by the way, if you go to Daily Motion,
- 1:00:53Speaker 5: Daily Motion, I got to get plugs. I'm going to
- 1:00:55Speaker 5: give credit where it's due. You go to Daily Motion online,
- 1:00:59Speaker 5: and then you'll be able to find these performances, these
- 1:01:03Speaker 5: performances by Frank Sinatra. And it's in Italian, and the
- 1:01:07Speaker 5: Italian gal keeps going back and forth. It's funny to watch,
- 1:01:10Speaker 5: but I'll tell you what, Mr. S in magnificent voice,
- 1:01:14Speaker 5: magnificent voice in a studio, casual, so cool, 1962. Speaking
- 1:01:20Speaker 5: of which, let me go to Mr. S. This really
- 1:01:25Speaker 5: just breaks my heart, and I love it, in a
- 1:01:27Speaker 5: good way. And this is Mr. S. And I believe
- 1:01:31Speaker 5: he was in Sicily recording this. And this is a
- 1:01:35Speaker 5: video that I saw that I want to play for
- 1:01:37Speaker 5: you right now. And it's Frank Sinatra talking a little bit.
- 1:01:41Speaker 5: And then he does like a rubato, which means he
- 1:01:44Speaker 5: kind of follows Bill Miller at the piano. And he
- 1:01:47Speaker 5: does all the way. Now, you know, he's 70-something years
- 1:01:50Speaker 5: old at this point. But just listen how, if I may,
- 1:01:54Speaker 5: Frank Sinatra is the true master of of vocalization, of song.
- 1:02:00Speaker 5: This particularly, because he's getting elderly, you know, getting on,
- 1:02:04Speaker 5: you know, in years, yet he still captured the tone
- 1:02:08Speaker 5: of the song, the lyrics of the song, and almost
- 1:02:11Speaker 5: just talks his way through it in a beautiful, beautiful way.
- 1:02:14Speaker 5: Bill Miller at the piano and Frank Sinatra from Italy.
- 1:02:21Speaker 3: My father would say, Come se be addito, piccolino, I
- 1:02:30Speaker 3: did this in a film.
- 1:02:31Speaker 24: This song was in a film many, many years ago.
- 1:02:35Speaker 23: When somebody loves you.
- 1:02:40Speaker 2: That's all.
- 1:02:40Speaker 9: Thank you very much.
- 1:02:44Speaker 52: And when somebody needs you, it's no good unless she
- 1:02:50Speaker 52: needs you.
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: All the way.
- 1:03:00Speaker 3: Through the good or lean years And for all the
- 1:03:03Speaker 3: in-between years Come what.
- 1:03:07Speaker 8: May Who knows where the road will lead us Only
- 1:03:19Speaker 8: a fool would say.
- 1:03:25Speaker 52: But if you let me love you It's for sure
- 1:03:31Speaker 52: I'm gonna.
- 1:03:32Speaker 8: Love you all the way. All the way.
- 1:03:59Speaker 5: Wow. I love that. Mr. Sinatra in Sicily, just really
- 1:04:07Speaker 5: selling that song. And you could just tell because, you know,
- 1:04:11Speaker 5: when he gets, you're getting older, you know, and you're
- 1:04:14Speaker 5: trying to draw on what you used to draw on
- 1:04:16Speaker 5: when you were younger, talent-wise, yet he still sold it
- 1:04:19Speaker 5: in his own way. And that is the genius of
- 1:04:21Speaker 5: Frank Sinatra. right there. Speaking of musical geniuses, if I may,
- 1:04:26Speaker 5: this is one of my favorites. I played this last
- 1:04:28Speaker 5: year during Columbus Day at Tony Bennett in Perugia in Italy,
- 1:04:32Speaker 5: and he just improvised a version of O Sole Mio.
- 1:04:36Speaker 5: I don't know that he knew the whole words because
- 1:04:38Speaker 5: he kept saying it over and over again, but man,
- 1:04:39Speaker 5: when you listen to Tony Bennett, he could sing a
- 1:04:42Speaker 5: phone book and make it sound great. Tony Bennett in Perugia,
- 1:04:46Speaker 5: O Sole Mio.
- 1:04:51Speaker 53: Oh, my sun, it's in front of you.
- 1:04:57Speaker 7: Oh, my sun, it's in front of you. Oh, my sun. Oh,
- 1:05:05Speaker 7: my sun, it's in front of you.
- 1:05:09Speaker 39: It's in front of you.
- 1:05:33Speaker 54: The loveliness of Paris.
- 1:05:37Speaker 55: Seems somehow sadly.
- 1:05:40Speaker 54: Gay The glory that was.
- 1:05:44Speaker 56: Rome is of another day.
- 1:05:50Speaker 54: I've been terribly alone And forgotten in Manhattan I'm going.
- 1:05:58Speaker 45: Home To my city.
- 1:06:05Speaker 4: By the bay.
- 1:06:09Speaker 8: I left my heart In.
- 1:06:15Speaker 7: San Francisco.
- 1:06:26Speaker 24: High on a hill.
- 1:06:33Speaker 55: It calls to me To be where little cable cars.
- 1:06:49Speaker 54: Climb halfway to the stars The morning fog made chill
- 1:07:04Speaker 54: the air I don't care, my love waits there.
- 1:07:18Speaker 9: In San Francisco.
- 1:07:27Speaker 54: Above the blue.
- 1:07:33Speaker 56: And windy sea When I come home to.
- 1:07:45Speaker 54: You San Francisco.
- 1:07:56Speaker 57: Your golden sun will shine for me.
- 1:08:14Speaker 2: This is Bolivar's Sinatra Showcase. This is Bolivar's Sinatra Showcase
- 1:08:41Speaker 2: on Music Radio.
- 1:08:44Speaker 4: Music This is both of us.

- 1:09:10Speaker 5: Hey, Joe, on the radio is both of us. Sinatra showcase.
- 1:09:13Speaker 5: We're having fun.
- 1:09:14Speaker 28: It's like.
- 1:09:15Speaker 5: It's getting late and punchy. Come on. And you know what?
- 1:09:19Speaker 5: We haven't been drinking. I mean, no, not yet. I
- 1:09:22Speaker 5: know what you're thinking. Hey, Juliana in Australia, I know
- 1:09:26Speaker 5: you're listening. And Juliana says, good day, because it's morning
- 1:09:30Speaker 5: over there, of course. Good day. Good Sunday afternoon to
- 1:09:33Speaker 5: you from Melbourne, Australia. Mr. Joe Piscopo, happy Columbus Day.
- 1:09:38Speaker 5: Love your show, as always. And you know that. Cheers, mate.
- 1:09:41Speaker 5: And cheers right back, Juliana. We love you down there
- 1:09:43Speaker 5: in Australia. Appreciate you listening. God bless you for remembering
- 1:09:47Speaker 5: Christopher Columbus, the man who really discovered America, right?
- 1:09:51Speaker 24: Yep.
- 1:09:52Speaker 5: Hey, Piscopo, it's Bull of a Sinatra Showcase. Okay, I
- 1:09:54Speaker 5: got to do this. I think it's like I got
- 1:09:56Speaker 5: to do this because I found this gem. People weren't
- 1:10:00Speaker 5: listening to it. We brought it on the radio. Everybody
- 1:10:02Speaker 5: started to listen to it. So we put it on
- 1:10:04Speaker 5: the Piscopo favorites playlist, the Piscopo playlist. This is Luciano
- 1:10:11Speaker 5: Pavarotti and James Brown.
- 1:10:13Speaker 28: Right.
- 1:10:13Speaker 5: You know where I'm going with this. This is one
- 1:10:15Speaker 5: of the greatest performances, first of all, from one of
- 1:10:18Speaker 5: my heroes, James Brown. And then Luciano was doing a charity.
- 1:10:23Speaker 5: And I believe it was in I think it was
- 1:10:25Speaker 5: in Rome.
- 1:10:25Speaker 47: Yeah.
- 1:10:26Speaker 5: And he would bring different artists in at the time.
- 1:10:29Speaker 5: And and he would sing an opera version. And then
- 1:10:32Speaker 5: in this case, James Brown singing James Brown. And James
- 1:10:35Speaker 5: Brown is brilliant in this. Because, you know, James Brown
- 1:10:39Speaker 5: just like, hey, you know, or, you know, getting hot
- 1:10:43Speaker 5: tub like Eddie did on SNL, man, you know. No,
- 1:10:46Speaker 5: listen to James. Listen to Luciano. Listen to the synergy
- 1:10:50Speaker 5: of the Italian-American with the Italian, the real Italian, not American,
- 1:10:54Speaker 5: Italian Poverati and the American James Brown. This is, it's
- 1:11:00Speaker 5: a man's world.
- 1:11:13Speaker 58: This is a man's world This is.
- 1:11:27Speaker 16: A man's world But it wouldn't be nothing, nothing, nothing.
- 1:11:35Speaker 5: I got a woman or a girl.
- 1:11:37Speaker 7: Mm-hmm.
- 1:11:43Speaker 5: You see, man made the car.
- 1:11:46Speaker 22: It take us over the road.
- 1:11:50Speaker 58: Man made the train.
- 1:11:54Speaker 7: Carried the heavy load.
- 1:12:03Speaker 5: Man made the electric lights that take us out of
- 1:12:07Speaker 5: the dark.
- 1:12:09Speaker 22: And man made the boat for the water that my
- 1:12:14Speaker 22: Bible said Noah made the ark. This is a man's world.
- 1:12:20Speaker 7: But it wouldn't mean nothing, nothing, nothing.
- 1:12:29Speaker 8: That a woman ought to care.
- 1:12:34Speaker 27: Yeah.
- 1:12:37Speaker 41: Como rincón reimposere, ma lui non sa. E' il grande
- 1:12:47Speaker 41: divino essere come si parla.
- 1:13:33Speaker 58: Man thinks about a little bit of baby girls and.
- 1:13:39Speaker 5: A baby boy.
- 1:13:41Speaker 59: Man makes them happy because.
- 1:13:46Speaker 58: Man makes them toys. But after man makes everything he can.
- 1:13:56Speaker 7: Man makes little things.
- 1:14:01Speaker 22: Pesos, dollars, rubles, to buy from every good woman and
- 1:14:06Speaker 22: every man.
- 1:14:08Speaker 7: This is a man's world.
- 1:14:11Speaker 16: But it wouldn't be nothing.
- 1:14:27Speaker 5: It's a man's.
- 1:14:31Speaker 9: World in the wilderness.
- 1:14:33Speaker 5: It's a man's world.
- 1:14:36Speaker 9: It's a.
- 1:14:39Speaker 5: Man's world.
- 1:14:55Speaker 60: One of the greatest collaborations ever in music.
- 1:15:22Speaker 5: Listen, listen to James. As James steps backstage, they ask him,
- 1:15:29Speaker 5: how do you feel? And he says, I feel good. Wait, listen.
- 1:15:33Speaker 5: Can we catch it? Backstage. Thank you.
- 1:15:43Speaker 7: Gracias.
- 1:15:44Speaker 9: Gracias.
- 1:15:46Speaker 4: I feel good.
- 1:15:54Speaker 5: You got to love it, man. James Brown, Luciano Pavarotti. Hey,
- 1:15:57Speaker 5: let me go to Tony and Teresa calling in. Hey,
- 1:15:59Speaker 5: Tony and Teresa, they are the guardian angels of One
- 1:16:03Speaker 5: Hoboken Mary. How you guys doing?
- 1:16:05Speaker 28: Doing well, Joe.
- 1:16:07Speaker 42: Thank you so much.
- 1:16:09Speaker 28: Gracias, gracias for being my voice.
- 1:16:12Speaker 24: All over the world.
- 1:16:14Speaker 5: That's it, baby. You know what? And happy Columbus Day
- 1:16:17Speaker 5: and happy, you know, everything with Hoboken Mary because you
- 1:16:21Speaker 5: watch over her. And now I can't believe she's opening
- 1:16:23Speaker 5: for Sal Valentinetti. I think this is, you know what?
- 1:16:27Speaker 5: You guys got to be like her managers, okay? Can
- 1:16:30Speaker 5: you do that, right?
- 1:16:31Speaker 28: We were negotiating with Sal.
- 1:16:38Speaker 5: Tony, we love you. We love you guys. And I
- 1:16:42Speaker 5: can't wait to see you again.
- 1:16:43Speaker 28: That's it for Saturday night.
- 1:16:46Speaker 5: That's it. Boulevard Sinatra Showcase. Tony, Teresa, Hoboken, Mary, Sal Valentinetti.
- 1:16:52Speaker 5: Piscopo live as live can be. Saturday Night Live with
- 1:16:56Speaker 5: Joe Piscopo. Unless you listen on a Sunday. And we
- 1:16:58Speaker 5: love you. We're coming right back on Boulevard Sinatra Showcase.
- 1:17:02Speaker 5: Happy Columbus Day weekend.
- 1:17:14Speaker 2: This is Bolivar's Sinatra Showcase with your host, Joe Piscopo,
- 1:17:20Speaker 2: on Music Radio.
- 1:17:21Speaker 34: Music the chairman of the board, Old Blue Eyes, the
- 1:17:35Speaker 34: Sultan of Swoon.
- 1:17:37Speaker 9: Ladies and gentlemen, Frank Sinatra!
- 1:17:40Speaker 2: This is Bolivar's Sinatra Showcase with your host, Joe Piscopo,
- 1:17:46Speaker 2: on Music Radio.
- 1:17:50Speaker 5: Bolivar Sinatra Showcase with Joe Piscopo live as live can be.
- 1:17:54Speaker 5: And I love this. We are in a back room
- 1:17:58Speaker 5: in a big venue. They said, please don't mention our
- 1:18:00Speaker 5: name because for whatever reason. But if I mentioned the
- 1:18:04Speaker 5: name of the facility where we are, you would recognize it.
- 1:18:08Speaker 5: But we had a big event and we had a
- 1:18:09Speaker 5: big Italian event, old black tie event. But I bought
- 1:18:12Speaker 5: the radio stuff with me because I wanted to stay
- 1:18:14Speaker 5: on the radio with you. So we're in the back
- 1:18:15Speaker 5: room and with friends and we're just hanging out. We
- 1:18:17Speaker 5: got some espresso we got some biscotti i could see
- 1:18:21Speaker 5: and it's columbus day weekend and you know what if
- 1:18:23Speaker 5: you're not italian we love you anyway the beauty of
- 1:18:25Speaker 5: this and you know what i gotta do uh i'm
- 1:18:27Speaker 5: gonna do fox news uh in the morning uh with
- 1:18:30Speaker 5: rachel and charles and griff okay and with my buddy
- 1:18:34Speaker 5: um uh with mr zioli will be will be will
- 1:18:38Speaker 5: be the rich zioli a great kid he's a nice
- 1:18:40Speaker 5: kid and we're all italian and we're gonna do some
- 1:18:42Speaker 5: cooking and you know what though It's like I'm going
- 1:18:45Speaker 5: to wear my red, white, and blue tie. I'm going
- 1:18:49Speaker 5: to wear my American eye. I think, yeah, and I
- 1:18:51Speaker 5: think I'm going to wear maybe, you know, like I
- 1:18:54Speaker 5: got my Italy flag and my Italian flag together. But
- 1:18:58Speaker 5: this is an American celebration. It's an American celebration. You know,
- 1:19:02Speaker 5: it's like even if it's Black History Month, you know,
- 1:19:04Speaker 5: we always celebrate on the radio. Black History Month. But
- 1:19:07Speaker 5: that's an American celebration of all the black artists, you know,
- 1:19:11Speaker 5: that Mr. Sinatra certainly played with. So we say Happy
- 1:19:14Speaker 5: Columbus Day in an American way. And we feel like it's,
- 1:19:17Speaker 5: you know, just something that we should all enjoy as Americans.
- 1:19:20Speaker 5: Let me just sidestep for a second here as we
- 1:19:23Speaker 5: come to our last half hour. I want to highlight
- 1:19:25Speaker 5: Louis Prima. Sam Butera, who played the saxophone, Louis Prima's band.
- 1:19:31Speaker 5: And if you're younger and you're listening, just just Just
- 1:19:34Speaker 5: Google Louie Prima. Download Louie Prima. You will be addicted.
- 1:19:37Speaker 5: He had a big band in the 1930s, and he
- 1:19:40Speaker 5: played Sing, Sing, Sing. He wrote Sing, Sing, Sing, the
- 1:19:43Speaker 5: song I always do on the drums. And then he
- 1:19:45Speaker 5: had a big band. Then he broke off, and he
- 1:19:47Speaker 5: went with Sam, and he found Keely Smith in Vegas.
- 1:19:50Speaker 5: I told you the story. And they went to the Sahara,
- 1:19:52Speaker 5: and they played The Lounge in the 50s. And they
- 1:19:54Speaker 5: were so raucous, and they were so fun, back and forth,
- 1:19:57Speaker 5: joking around. The drummer, they would joke around. Jimmy Vincent,
- 1:20:02Speaker 5: I think, was the drummer's name. And then Mr. Sinatra,
- 1:20:04Speaker 5: I was just telling my buddy Arthur, it was like
- 1:20:08Speaker 5: Frank Sinatra would come in with Sammy and with Joey
- 1:20:11Speaker 5: Bishop and with Dean Martin. And they sat in the
- 1:20:13Speaker 5: back at the lounge watching Louis Prima and Sam Butera.
- 1:20:18Speaker 5: And Mr. S said, pointing to them, that's the way
- 1:20:20Speaker 5: we got to be on stage. So the Rat Pack
- 1:20:23Speaker 5: was really virtually formed by Louis Prima and what he
- 1:20:27Speaker 5: did with the great Sam Butera. And Sam, I miss
- 1:20:29Speaker 5: you every day. What a great guy. We had a
- 1:20:32Speaker 5: longtime friendship with the great Sam Butera. So let me,
- 1:20:35Speaker 5: and I think Mr. Sinatra would love it if we
- 1:20:37Speaker 5: highlighted Louis Prima for a couple songs right now. It's swinging, man.
- 1:20:40Speaker 5: And I said to Sam, I said, Sammy, you invented
- 1:20:42Speaker 5: rock and roll, man. You were swinging before rock and roll.
- 1:20:45Speaker 5: You were really rock. He goes, nah, man, we were
- 1:20:47Speaker 5: just doing our thing, man. They were all jazz cats
- 1:20:49Speaker 5: from New Orleans, you know. And they all talk like jazz. No, Joe,
- 1:20:52Speaker 5: we're just doing our thing. So here's Louis Prima doing
- 1:20:55Speaker 5: his thing with Sam Butera and Keeley Smith, just a gigolo,
- 1:20:59Speaker 5: and I ain't got nobody.
- 1:21:04Speaker 48: And just a gigolo, and everywhere I go, people know
- 1:21:09Speaker 48: the part I'm playing.
- 1:21:12Speaker 24: Paid for every dance. Selling is romance. Oh, this is.
- 1:21:19Speaker 24: There will come a day.
- 1:21:21Speaker 5: And youth will pass away. What will they say about me?
- 1:21:27Speaker 47: When the end comes, I know they'll say just a gigolo.
- 1:21:32Speaker 19: Life goes on without me.
- 1:21:35Speaker 5: And just a gigolo. Everywhere I go. People know the
- 1:21:40Speaker 5: part I'm playing.
- 1:21:43Speaker 48: Paid for every dance.
- 1:21:44Speaker 19: Jiggle-o.
- 1:21:45Speaker 5: Selling each romance.
- 1:21:47Speaker 14: Jiggle-o.
- 1:21:48Speaker 24: Oh, what they say.
- 1:21:49Speaker 28: Jiggle-o, jiggle-o.
- 1:21:50Speaker 47: And there will come a day when youth will pass away.
- 1:21:55Speaker 24: What will they say about me?
- 1:21:57Speaker 47: When the end comes, I know there's a just a jiggle-o.
- 1:22:03Speaker 5: Life goes on without me. Cause I ain't got nobody.
- 1:22:13Speaker 6: Oh, and there's nobody left just for me.
- 1:22:18Speaker 47: There's nobody left just for me.
- 1:22:24Speaker 33: I'm so sad and lonely.
- 1:22:28Speaker 9: Sad and lonely, sad and lonely.
- 1:22:30Speaker 48: Won't some sweet mama come take a chance with me?
- 1:22:34Speaker 5: Cause I ain't so bad then.
- 1:22:37Speaker 7: Now sing it!
- 1:22:39Speaker 5: We love songs! I ain't got nobody. Oh, and there's
- 1:23:00Speaker 5: no modern kiss for me. There's no modern kiss for me.
- 1:23:04Speaker 49: There's no modern kiss for me.
- 1:23:07Speaker 53: There's no modern kiss for.
- 1:23:14Speaker 3: Me.
- 1:23:29Speaker 7: Come on!
- 1:24:05Speaker 5: No kiss for me.
- 1:24:26Speaker 4: I'm so sad and lonely.
- 1:24:28Speaker 1: Oh, lonely, oh, lonely, lonely, lonely.
- 1:24:30Speaker 47: Won't some sweet mama come and rescue me?
- 1:24:34Speaker 24: Cause I ain't no bad day.
- 1:24:35Speaker 5: And I'll sing her. We left her all of the time.
- 1:24:37Speaker 53: She will only be funny, only, only, only, only, only, baby. Baby,
- 1:24:49Speaker 53: how much sugar.
- 1:24:53Speaker 16: Darlin'..
- 1:24:55Speaker 8: Ain't nobody, ain't.
- 1:25:01Speaker 61: Nobody, ain't nobody, ain't nobody.
- 1:25:11Speaker 5: .
- 1:25:16Speaker 22: .

- 1:25:35Speaker 9: .
- 1:25:46Speaker 48: I eat antipasto twice just because she is so nice, Angelina. Angelina,
- 1:25:52Speaker 48: the waitress at the pizzeria. I keep soup and minestrone
- 1:26:00Speaker 48: just to be with her alone, Angelina. Angelina, the waitress
- 1:26:08Speaker 48: at the pizzeria. Ti voglio bene. Angelina, I adore you.
- 1:26:17Speaker 59: Angelina, I live for you. You have set my heart
- 1:26:19Speaker 59: on fire. But Angelina never.
- 1:26:33Speaker 48: Listens to my song I eat antipasto twice just because
- 1:26:39Speaker 48: she is so nice Angelina Angelina, the waitress at the pizzeria.
- 1:26:47Speaker 7: If she'll be my caramilla.
- 1:26:56Speaker 48: Then I'll join in matrimony with the girl who serves Spumoni.
- 1:26:59Speaker 48: And Angelina will be mine.
- 1:27:05Speaker 5: Oh, mama, zumba, zumba, baccala Oh, mama, zumba, zumba, baccala.

- 1:28:34Speaker 5: Bli bop!
- 1:28:35Speaker 7: Bli bop! Bli bop!
- 1:28:30Speaker 4: Oh, mama.
- 1:28:31Speaker 39: Oh, mama.
- 1:28:31Speaker 28: Oh, mama.
- 1:28:31Speaker 4: Oh, mama.
- 1:28:32Speaker 7: Oh, mama.
- 1:28:33Speaker 8: Oh, mama.
- 1:28:33Speaker 7: Oh, mama.
- 1:28:34Speaker 19: Oh, mama.
- 1:28:53Speaker 11: Thank you.
- 1:29:52Speaker 5: Oh, Louis Prima, Keely Smith, Sam Butera, the wildest man.
- 1:29:58Speaker 5: I'll tell you what, Louis Prima was a genius. And
- 1:30:01Speaker 5: that's a little of Louis. Angelina and Jump, Chive and Whale. Joe,
- 1:30:05Speaker 5: that we heard earlier, okay? Just a gigolo and ain't
- 1:30:07Speaker 5: got nobody. Hey, Joe on the radio, let me, if
- 1:30:10Speaker 5: I may, turn to two more Italian-Americans as we celebrate
- 1:30:13Speaker 5: Columbus Day on Monday. This is Stephanie Germanotte. And when
- 1:30:18Speaker 5: I would be hosting... The Columbus Day Parade, as I'll
- 1:30:21Speaker 5: be co-hosting on Monday, would be with Maria Bartiromo, and
- 1:30:25Speaker 5: we would be hosting. And then there was a young
- 1:30:27Speaker 5: gal that stepped up and sang, and her name was
- 1:30:29Speaker 5: Stephanie Germanote. You know who that turned out to be?
- 1:30:32Speaker 5: You do. Lady Gaga from Queens, New York, a part
- 1:30:36Speaker 5: of the Columbus Citizens Foundation. And here she is with Mr.
- 1:30:39Speaker 5: Tony Bennett, and I get a kick out of you.
- 1:30:44Speaker 24: All set?
- 1:30:44Speaker 62: Tony's always ready.
- 1:30:46Speaker 24: Here we go.
- 1:30:55Speaker 62: My story is much too sad to be told But
- 1:31:03Speaker 62: practically everything leaves me totally gold.
- 1:31:14Speaker 52: The only exception I know is the case.
- 1:31:20Speaker 5: When I'm out on a quiet spree.
- 1:31:25Speaker 63: Hiding vainly the old and we And I suddenly turn
- 1:31:32Speaker 63: and see.

- 1:36:57Speaker 5: honor it is to be on the radio, you know,
- 1:37:00Speaker 5: from New York City live. And again, my caveat, I
- 1:37:03Speaker 5: always got to tell you, we syndicate and people listen
- 1:37:05Speaker 5: in Ohio and they listen to Chicago and they listen
- 1:37:07Speaker 5: to Palm Springs and Mississippi and they... Listen on Sunday mornings,
- 1:37:10Speaker 5: and we love you for listening on Sunday mornings. But
- 1:37:12Speaker 5: as you hear my voice, it's actually a live broadcast
- 1:37:16Speaker 5: out of our mothership, WABC in New York, 50,000 watts
- 1:37:19Speaker 5: screaming out of WABC in New York, going all the
- 1:37:22Speaker 5: way down to Australia on WABCradio.com. And so it's a
- 1:37:26Speaker 5: joy to be able to come in a tuxedo from
- 1:37:28Speaker 5: a black tie affair, sitting in the back room with Biscotti.
- 1:37:32Speaker 5: and with some good espresso, double espresso and Italian pastries,
- 1:37:38Speaker 5: and to do the Bolivar Sinatra Showcase as we approach
- 1:37:42Speaker 5: Columbus Day, celebrating Italian-Americans everywhere, and in turn, celebrating the
- 1:37:47Speaker 5: greatness of the United States of America and yes Australia

- 1:38:27Speaker 5: love it. so it's a family in new york and
- 1:38:29Speaker 5: we're kind of a small family and when we celebrate
- 1:38:32Speaker 5: italians it makes me really really proud so a salute

- 1:38:53Speaker 5: rain or shine, baby. We're going to be there celebrating.
- 1:38:56Speaker 5: And I want to just remember my mama. Miss my
- 1:38:59Speaker 5: mom so much. She would listen to the radio. She
- 1:39:04Speaker 5: would love it. There was never a critique with my mother.
- 1:39:07Speaker 5: She was, oh, Joseph, I like that. Oh, I love
- 1:39:10Speaker 5: that song. Louis Prima, I forgot about Louis. She would
- 1:39:12Speaker 5: tell me the whole show she would know. And then,
- 1:39:15Speaker 5: you know, it was a kick. And here are the
- 1:39:17Speaker 5: children of people that came from another country. They came
- 1:39:20Speaker 5: from Italy. They came here. And they just wanted to
- 1:39:22Speaker 5: be American. And I would always watch. I'd be with
- 1:39:25Speaker 5: my mom. And she would listen to the radio. But
- 1:39:28Speaker 5: then she would watch the Columbus Day broadcast. And then
- 1:39:30Speaker 5: I would say, thank you to my parents. Thank you
- 1:39:33Speaker 5: to my grandparents for coming to America.
- 1:39:35Speaker 64: And she, that generation, the greatest generation, Didn't even think
- 1:39:40Speaker 64: about it. And the people that came from another country,
- 1:39:43Speaker 64: our parents and our grandparents and our great grandparents, they
- 1:39:46Speaker 64: didn't think about it. You know, so that's what we're
- 1:39:48Speaker 64: celebrating today on Boulevard Sinatra Showcase. You know, and we
- 1:39:52Speaker 64: love you for listening and we love you for being
- 1:39:54Speaker 64: a part of it. And if I didn't get to
- 1:39:56Speaker 64: your calls, I apologize. You know, we'll be live again
- 1:39:59Speaker 64: next week. Matter of fact, they have to Columbus Day.
- 1:40:01Speaker 64: It's going to slow down just a little bit.

- 1:40:16Speaker 5: Let's listen to Mr. Frank Sinatra with such an apropos
- 1:40:20Speaker 5: song as we close out the Boulevard Sinatra Showcase with
