- 1:01Speaker 1: We stream shows every Monday and Wednesday at noon Central.
- 1:06Speaker 1: Now I am pre recording this just in case I'm
- 1:10Speaker 1: not able to go live on Monday since I will
- 1:13Speaker 1: be traveling to LA So just wanted to let you
- 1:18Speaker 1: guys know that upfront. But let's get into today's cases now.
- 1:26Speaker 1: First up, guys, we have Chelsea Michelle Cobo, who was
- 1:31Speaker 1: born November eighth, nineteen ninety three in New York. Now,
- 1:37Speaker 1: there's not a ton of stuff online about her early life,
- 1:41Speaker 1: but we do know that Chelsea was adopted by her
- 1:45Speaker 1: biological aunt when she was a toddler. Now, Chelsea was
- 1:50Speaker 1: still very close to her adopted mother, but also had
- 1:55Speaker 1: a good relationship with her biological mom, so basically she
- 1:59Speaker 1: had a close relationship with both. Now, Chelsea was said
- 2:03Speaker 1: to be friendly but was on the quiet side, unlike me. Now,
- 2:08Speaker 1: she did welcome a baby boy in twenty fifteen and
- 2:12Speaker 1: lived at home with her adopted mom and her son,
- 2:15Speaker 1: who she was raising as a single mother. Now, in
- 2:20Speaker 1: twenty sixteen, life took a dark turn for Chelsea when
- 2:25Speaker 1: her biological mom passed away. Chelsea took the death of
- 2:29Speaker 1: her biological mom very hard, and she sunk into a
- 2:34Speaker 1: deep depression. Now, wanting to get her mind straight, Chelsea
- 2:39Speaker 1: checked into the Coney Island Psychiatric Hospital. She would spent
- 2:43Speaker 1: two weeks in the hospital, where she was diagnosed with
- 2:46Speaker 1: bipolar depression and continued with outpatient treatment. First thing I
- 2:51Speaker 1: have to say is Chelsea, amazing that you realize you
- 2:56Speaker 1: needed help and you took the steps to get help. Now,
- 3:01Speaker 1: Chelsea's family noticed a huge change in her behavior and
- 3:05Speaker 1: personality upon her return, and not in a good way.
- 3:10Speaker 1: Chelsea had suddenly turned into an extrovert and was always
- 3:14Speaker 1: going on and on texting and calling people, which was
- 3:20Speaker 1: a huge difference from her homebody personality before entering the hospital,
- 3:26Speaker 1: so it was not a good change for her. Now,
- 3:30Speaker 1: her adopted mom discovered that Chelsea had befriended her roommate
- 3:34Speaker 1: from the hospital along with her roommate's boyfriend. Chelsea admitted
- 3:40Speaker 1: to dabbling in drugs, which was a huge shock for
- 3:43Speaker 1: the family because Chelsea was someone who had never shown
- 3:48Speaker 1: interest in drugs. A few weeks later, Chelsea came home
- 3:54Speaker 1: in the early morning stumbling and bruised. God, that is
- 3:59Speaker 1: so scary now. Chelsea could not remember what happened or
- 4:03Speaker 1: where she had been. Her mom was very concerned and
- 4:07Speaker 1: took her to the hospital. At the hospital, sadly, it
- 4:11Speaker 1: was confirmed that Chelsea had been drugged, robbed, and sexually assaulted. Guys,
- 4:19Speaker 1: my heart just hurts for Chelsea. This event helped lee
- 4:24Speaker 1: Chelsea to deciding she needed more help. Her mom dropped
- 4:28Speaker 1: her off at the nearby hospital, where a van picked
- 4:31Speaker 1: up Chelsea to take her to the rehab facility about
- 4:34Speaker 1: an hour away. Upon arriving at the facility, Chelsea checked
- 4:40Speaker 1: herself out and is said to have reached out to
- 4:43Speaker 1: her old roommate had become her friend from that psychiatric hospital, who,
- 4:48Speaker 1: along with her boyfriend, picked her up. After learning this,
- 4:53Speaker 1: Chelsea's mom was very concerned and tried everything she could
- 4:58Speaker 1: to find her daughter. After not being able to locate her,
- 5:02Speaker 1: the police were called and she was reported missing. During
- 5:08Speaker 1: the investigation, it was discovered that Chelsea had been texting friends.
- 5:13Speaker 1: Sorry texting friends during the drive to the rehab facility.
- 5:17Speaker 1: Trying to score drugs. Guys, this is not in common, okay.
- 5:22Speaker 1: Drug addiction is an evil, evil disease. Sadly, as we
- 5:30Speaker 1: have heard before, law enforcement does not seem to take
- 5:35Speaker 1: a missing person's case serious. So Chelsea's mom worked non
- 5:41Speaker 1: stop trying to find her daughter. Once please started tracking
- 5:46Speaker 1: her movements on the day she checked out, they discovered
- 5:50Speaker 1: that Chelsea had been seen at a club and that
- 5:52Speaker 1: she had left around one forty five in the morning
- 5:56Speaker 1: with the man. Now May six, sixteen's the last day
- 6:02Speaker 1: that Chelsea Michelle Cobo was seen. Her mom, Rose continues
- 6:07Speaker 1: to search for answers to her daughter's disappearance. Everyone, Chelsea
- 6:12Speaker 1: is not just a person who is struggling with addiction.
- 6:16Speaker 1: She's also a daughter and a mother. If you have
- 6:20Speaker 1: any information regarding the disappearance of Chelsea Michelle Cobo, please
- 6:28Speaker 1: please contact the New York Police Department at two one
- 6:32Speaker 1: two six nine four seven seven eight one. Oh, guys,
- 6:40Speaker 1: this case just it's hard, Okay, Just going to be honest,
- 6:44Speaker 1: it's a hard one. Now, if you know of or
- 6:49Speaker 1: you have a loved one who's missing and you're interested
- 6:53Speaker 1: in having their story featured on an upcoming episode or
- 6:57Speaker 1: If you want to join us for a live interview,
- 7:00Speaker 1: please contact Amy, our assistant producer, at email at Amy
- 7:06Speaker 1: at Tcwtmedia dot com, or you can send us a
- 7:10Speaker 1: DM on our Facebook page or any of our pages. Okay, Now,
- 7:17Speaker 1: this next case is a little different. However, it is
- 7:22Speaker 1: a case that has a family still seeking to find
- 7:26Speaker 1: their left one. On August eighteenth, nineteen ninety three, twelve
- 7:32Speaker 1: year old Sarah Annwood vanished while riding her bicycle home
- 7:37Speaker 1: from Norwich Corners Church in Sashchwat, New York. I think
- 7:42Speaker 1: I said that right less than half a mile from
- 7:44Speaker 1: her home. She disappeared without a trace. Sarah was born
- 7:51Speaker 1: on March fourth, nineteen eighty one. She was the youngest
- 7:55Speaker 1: of three children. She was the daughter of Robert and
- 7:58Speaker 1: Francis Wood. Now. Her dad was the pastor of Norwich
- 8:02Speaker 1: Corners Presbyterian Church and Sarah loved dancing, poetry, and Dolly
- 8:08Speaker 1: Parton songs. Well, I'm a huge Dolly fan, so I
- 8:12Speaker 1: can say Sarah had excellent taste in music even at
- 8:16Speaker 1: a young age. Now friends and teachers remembered her as
- 8:20Speaker 1: a bright, happy, always giggling little girl, and she was
- 8:24Speaker 1: someone who could light up the room Now, on that
- 8:29Speaker 1: August morning, Sarah had gone to vacation Bible School at
- 8:32Speaker 1: her father's church. She was in a cheerful mood, singing
- 8:36Speaker 1: nine to five as she hopped on her bike and
- 8:39Speaker 1: called out to her brother see you later. Around two
- 8:43Speaker 1: thirty pm, she was last seeing pushing her bike up
- 8:48Speaker 1: Hackadam Road, less than half a mile from home. Guys,
- 8:52Speaker 1: I have to tell you I love everything about Sarah
- 8:55Speaker 1: singing nine to five and going to vacation Bible School.
- 8:59Speaker 1: I mean I was raised Catholic. That my aunt Hallie,
- 9:02Speaker 1: who I would go to stay with in Galveston for
- 9:04Speaker 1: a bit every summer or summer, always sent me to
- 9:08Speaker 1: vacation Bobble School at her church. And I loved every
- 9:12Speaker 1: second of it. And I have some great memories. Now,
- 9:17Speaker 1: Sarah was last seen wearing a pink T shirt with
- 9:20Speaker 1: guests who on the front, turquoise shorts, brown sandals, and
- 9:25Speaker 1: her prescription glasses. Sadly, she never made it home. Within hours,
- 9:32Speaker 1: her family knew something was terribly wrong. A search began
- 9:37Speaker 1: almost immediately. Her bicycle was found leaning against a tree
- 9:43Speaker 1: in nearby Her coloring book and crayons were hidden in
- 9:47Speaker 1: the brush. Place Quickly determined that she had been abducted.
- 9:54Speaker 1: Hundreds of troopers, firefighters, and volunteers scored the area. The
- 9:59Speaker 1: community till ribbons, printed missing flyers, and raised a reward
- 10:04Speaker 1: that grew to more than one hundred and fifty thousand dollars.
- 10:08Speaker 1: Her case was featured on forty eight Hours and America's
- 10:11Speaker 1: Most Wanted, but despite the massive search, Sarah was never found.
- 10:20Speaker 1: Three years later, in nineteen ninety six, investigators finally got
- 10:24Speaker 1: a break. A Massachusetts janitor named Louis Stephen Lyn Junior
- 10:30Speaker 1: had been arrested for attempting to abduct another twelve year
- 10:33Speaker 1: old girl. Evidence tied him to other child abductions, and
- 10:39Speaker 1: under questioning, he confessed to killing Sarah as well as
- 10:43Speaker 1: murdering twelve year old James Bernardo in nineteen ninety Lent
- 10:50Speaker 1: claimed he abducted Sarah at knife point, took her to
- 10:53Speaker 1: the Adirondack Mountains, and killed her near Raquette Lake. Even
- 10:59Speaker 1: drew a map, but despite weeks of searching with troopers,
- 11:03Speaker 1: stocks and volunteers, Sarah's body has never been recovered. Lent
- 11:10Speaker 1: was sentenced to life in prison for Bernardo's murder in
- 11:14Speaker 1: twenty five years to life for Sarah's to this day,
- 11:19Speaker 1: his refuse to exactly reveal where Sarah is buried. Out
- 11:25Speaker 1: of this tragedy, Sarah's family built something lasting. Okay, they
- 11:32Speaker 1: took their pain and their hurt, and they funneled it
- 11:37Speaker 1: into something good. They founded the Sarah Ann Wood Rescue Center,
- 11:43Speaker 1: which later became part of the National Center for Missing
- 11:47Speaker 1: and Exploited Children. Their work has helped recover thousands of
- 11:52Speaker 1: children across the country, and every year, cyclists in Upstate
- 11:57Speaker 1: New York ride in Sarah's honor and the Ride for
- 12:00Speaker 1: Missing Children, wearing her favorite colors of teal and pink.
- 12:06Speaker 1: I love that it's now been more than thirty years
- 12:11Speaker 1: since Sarah disappeared, and still her body has never been found,
- 12:16Speaker 1: and her family continues to hope for answers that lead
- 12:20Speaker 1: to her remains and the chance to lay her to rest.
- 12:27Speaker 1: In the years since her abduction, reports of child abduction
- 12:30Speaker 1: in New York's have decreased significantly. Sarah Ann Wood's case
- 12:36Speaker 1: stands as both a tragedy and a call to action,
- 12:41Speaker 1: reminding us the importance of protecting children and supporting families
- 12:47Speaker 1: who live with unanswered questions. If you have any information
- 12:53Speaker 1: about Sarah Ann Woods, please contact the New York State
- 12:58Speaker 1: Police at three three six six six thousand. Her family
- 13:06Speaker 1: has found justice of the courts, but has not had
- 13:09Speaker 1: the closure that they so dearly desire, and that is
- 13:13Speaker 1: to lay their suitet Sarah to rest properly. Guys, that's heartbreaking.
- 13:21Speaker 1: All of these cases are so heartbreaking. But I do
