- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Ben and Ashley I almost Famous podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with iHeartRadio.
- 0:05Speaker 2: It's almost famus podcast and we have today. I would say,
- 0:11Speaker 2: in fact, my wife asked me two weeks ago, who's
- 0:13Speaker 2: some of my favorite people in the world? And this
- 0:15Speaker 2: person was listed on that for many reasons, one of
- 0:18Speaker 2: which is his talent and his skill and his ability
- 0:22Speaker 2: to host one of the best shows on television, the
- 0:26Speaker 2: Pizza Show, Best and Dope and A Bachelor in Paradise. Wells, Adams,
- 0:33Speaker 2: welcome to the podcast. That was such a nice welcome
- 0:38Speaker 2: and preamble. Who else is on that list?
- 0:41Speaker 3: Man, I want to know who else is the most
- 0:44Speaker 3: You're one of your more favorite people in the world, Ashley, Jesus,
- 0:48Speaker 3: that's because she's in the room right now.
- 0:50Speaker 4: You have to say that.
- 0:52Speaker 2: My wife, my parents, her parents, just people you know,
- 0:57Speaker 2: just I just like people I've I've been lucky enough
- 1:00Speaker 2: to know some really great people. We're getting ready to
- 1:05Speaker 2: all be at Dean and Kailn's wedding this weekend, which
- 1:08Speaker 2: we're very excited about. It's going to be a great celebration,
- 1:11Speaker 2: a lot of fun. I'm very pumped to be around
- 1:14Speaker 2: some of my favorite people at that wedding. Wells, let's
- 1:18Speaker 2: just kick it off though, because we're here to talk
- 1:19Speaker 2: about Paradise today. You're now back from Paradise. I least
- 1:23Speaker 2: that's not a secret the when Okay, if we're to
- 1:28Speaker 2: kick this thing off, I think the first question I
- 1:30Speaker 2: want to ask you is do you get excited personally
- 1:33Speaker 2: for Paradise every year?
- 1:35Speaker 5: At this point? Does it feel more like a job?
- 1:38Speaker 3: Uh kay, that's a good question. I get very excited
- 1:41Speaker 3: for it every year because it's in Mexico, it's in
- 1:45Speaker 3: a nice place, like it's beautiful for me, and like, yes,
- 1:49Speaker 3: it is a lot of work and it's like a
- 1:51Speaker 3: lot of long hours and stuff, but it's still as fun,
- 1:54Speaker 3: you know, like at the end of the day, like
- 1:56Speaker 3: my job is, yes, I'm serving all of them and
- 2:00Speaker 3: making drinks and like getting ice and cleaning cups and stuff,
- 2:04Speaker 3: and so that there is like the nuts and bolts
- 2:05Speaker 3: of all of it, but it still is a little
- 2:07Speaker 3: bit of It feels like I'm hanging out with a
- 2:10Speaker 3: bunch of friends for a month and then we get
- 2:14Speaker 3: to do like fun, wacky stuff, which I which I
- 2:16Speaker 3: always like because you know, that show is is a
- 2:20Speaker 3: little less serious, you know, and you know that kind
- 2:23Speaker 3: of going into it. The opener is, you know, all
- 2:27Speaker 3: the cast members being silly and stuff, and so I
- 2:29Speaker 3: think that gives us a little bit of carte blanche
- 2:33Speaker 3: to be a little fun and silly, and obviously like
- 2:35Speaker 3: my sensibilities leaned towards comedy a little bit. So I
- 2:39Speaker 3: just like going and doing the show. And then you know,
- 2:42Speaker 3: the cherry on top of making that show is what
- 2:47Speaker 3: comes out of it. Case in point, your co host
- 2:51Speaker 3: here and Jared or like you know, I was. I
- 2:54Speaker 3: just married Joe and Serena and they came out of
- 2:57Speaker 3: that show just a couple of seasons ago.
- 2:59Speaker 6: So going to a wedding this weekend of another exactly.
- 3:03Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 3:04Speaker 3: And you know, dare I say that, I think it's
- 3:08Speaker 3: the show that is the most successful in terms of
- 3:11Speaker 3: what the mission statement is, which is to get these
- 3:13Speaker 3: people engaged and married. So for all that, yes, I'm very,
- 3:17Speaker 3: very excited every year. I will say this though, like
- 3:22Speaker 3: I'm getting a little long in the tooth, Like I'm
- 3:24Speaker 3: not the same guy who first started bartending whatever it
- 3:28Speaker 3: was eight years ago. The hours are getting longer. I'm
- 3:32Speaker 3: getting a little more like I had to go to
- 3:35Speaker 3: bed my back hurts. And there's that weird thing of
- 3:40Speaker 3: when I first started doing it, I was the same
- 3:41Speaker 3: age as everybody, or I was a little bit older,
- 3:43Speaker 3: but but basically the same age. Now there's this thing
- 3:46Speaker 3: of like like get off my lawn and these these
- 3:49Speaker 3: kids I don't understand like that all the verbids they're
- 3:51Speaker 3: using and stuff. But no, to answer your question, I
- 3:54Speaker 3: love doing it. It's it is so much fun and
- 3:58Speaker 3: uh yeah, and Mexico just holds like a special place
- 4:01Speaker 3: in my heart anyways, So it's the best.
- 4:04Speaker 7: So you learn the word riz from the gen z Ers,
- 4:07Speaker 7: what else do you learn from them? They also say,
- 4:09Speaker 7: like what's that expression that they say all the time.
- 4:11Speaker 4: Like, well, there's a lot of giving, like giving.
- 4:14Speaker 6: Yeah, that's kind of annoying to me.
- 4:16Speaker 3: Yeah, like it's it's it's giving, Barbie, it's getting, it's giving,
- 4:20Speaker 3: uh Hollywood chic and really all it's giving me as
- 4:23Speaker 3: a headache because you're sounding an idiot.
- 4:25Speaker 4: I don't know what you're saying.
- 4:28Speaker 5: I mean.
- 4:28Speaker 4: And then there are a lot of it's funny.
- 4:32Speaker 7: Oh you said it was like high brow or not
- 4:34Speaker 7: high brow.
- 4:36Speaker 3: Low key and high key low key high Yeah, there's
- 4:39Speaker 3: a lot of low key like uh like yeah, like
- 4:42Speaker 3: low key, like I kind of like him, or like
- 4:44Speaker 3: high key, like everyone knows we like it.
- 4:46Speaker 8: We do that.
- 4:47Speaker 3: That that gets used a lot, and it's like low key.
- 4:49Speaker 3: You guys are all annoying to me, and shut up
- 4:51Speaker 3: and just score to your you know your soda around here.
- 4:54Speaker 6: That sounds like high key.
- 4:56Speaker 3: I think low key because I don't want everyone to
- 4:58Speaker 3: know how much I can't stand them. That's not true.
- 5:01Speaker 3: I love everyone down there. And then yeah, the other
- 5:03Speaker 3: one was vibes. It's a lot of vibe checking, like
- 5:07Speaker 3: the vibes are off, the vibes aren't right.
- 5:12Speaker 4: And then like a lot of flags.
- 5:14Speaker 3: There's a lot of green flags, a lot of red flags,
- 5:16Speaker 3: a lot of beige flags, which is the dumbest thing
- 5:18Speaker 3: because the big flag. Really, all that is is just
- 5:21Speaker 3: an idiosyncrasy of your character that's neither good nor bad.
- 5:24Speaker 5: So it's just kind of who you are.
- 5:26Speaker 7: Yeah, we said, like Jared being obsessed with Rob Thomas
- 5:29Speaker 7: is his beige flag?
- 5:30Speaker 2: Yes, for one hundred percent. Yeah, Okay, let's play a
- 5:34Speaker 2: scenario out here. Okay, I'm thirty four years old. You
- 5:40Speaker 2: know I wouldn't even be like I don't think old
- 5:44Speaker 2: if I was the bachelor again, Like, I don't think
- 5:45Speaker 2: that would be like a storyline of he's an old bachelor,
- 5:48Speaker 2: Like thirty four seems like kind of the age that
- 5:50Speaker 2: the bachelors are going on three.
- 5:53Speaker 4: So yeahs fair.
- 5:54Speaker 2: So if I let's play a scenario where I am
- 5:57Speaker 2: single again, I'm the bachelor last season and then they
- 6:00Speaker 2: asked me to go on Paradise, you understand the amount
- 6:03Speaker 2: of confusion I would have on that beach with these
- 6:07Speaker 2: things being said, like you're saying this right now, Wells,
- 6:10Speaker 2: and there is like anxiety inside of me where I'm
- 6:13Speaker 2: feeling way older than I feel like I should, and
- 6:15Speaker 2: also just annoyed hearing it. I would not fund like
- 6:19Speaker 2: I don't belong. Yeah, you don't.
- 6:22Speaker 3: And I, especially though I'm five years older than to
- 6:25Speaker 3: your senior, you know, like I really am, you know,
- 6:29Speaker 3: kind of confused. I watch a lot of TikTok, so
- 6:33Speaker 3: I feel like I was. I feel like I was
- 6:37Speaker 3: a little prepped. And then there was a there was
- 6:39Speaker 3: a nice little like okay, everyone just sit down and
- 6:41Speaker 3: just explain all this to you know, your your old buddy, Wells.
- 6:47Speaker 3: But at the end of the day, like it's there's
- 6:51Speaker 3: everyone's saying the same stuff. You know, it's just they
- 6:54Speaker 3: found a new way of saying it. Yeah, and everyone
- 6:56Speaker 3: needs the same piece of advice because they're still going
- 7:00Speaker 3: through the same problems, you know.
- 7:02Speaker 4: Okay, Yeah, So well.
- 7:05Speaker 7: We had a headline last episode where Jesse says that
- 7:08Speaker 7: there's going to be this twist totally new, and he
- 7:12Speaker 7: says that everybody, cast and audience is going to love it.
- 7:16Speaker 6: Now about the same twist.
- 7:18Speaker 7: You said in a separate interview that like the audience
- 7:20Speaker 7: will like it, but the cast is going to get
- 7:22Speaker 7: really angry.
- 7:23Speaker 6: Can you tease this a little bit more?
- 7:24Speaker 3: Well, I think what everyone thinks it's going to be
- 7:26Speaker 3: is that like we separate everybody like we did last
- 7:29Speaker 3: season Alla like Cassa more from Love Island. And that's
- 7:35Speaker 3: not that we don't that's not happening. I mean, it
- 7:38Speaker 3: might happen, but that's not what everyone's talking about. I
- 7:42Speaker 3: think you I think what he's talking about is and
- 7:46Speaker 3: we show it the teaser, so I don't think it's
- 7:49Speaker 3: a huge spoiler. We try a new thing, which is
- 7:56Speaker 3: I put out this thing called like the truth Box,
- 7:59Speaker 3: and it's a way for the cast to be able
- 8:03Speaker 3: to say what they want to say without any judgment
- 8:07Speaker 3: or with with with anonymity effectively, and uh, it allows
- 8:15Speaker 3: people to speak their truth and it.
- 8:20Speaker 4: Helps a lot of couples. It hurts a lot of couples.
- 8:22Speaker 3: It It brings people together that you never thought were
- 8:25Speaker 3: going to.
- 8:26Speaker 4: It separates people that probably shouldn't be together, you know.
- 8:29Speaker 3: Like so it's it's this new tool that we that
- 8:32Speaker 3: we put together that actually I think really does help
- 8:36Speaker 3: the bottom line and the mission statement of the show,
- 8:39Speaker 3: which is like get people to find each other and
- 8:43Speaker 3: you know, hopefully get engaged at the end of the
- 8:45Speaker 3: single or leave together.
- 8:46Speaker 4: You know.
- 8:47Speaker 6: So the PST secret remember that thing.
- 8:50Speaker 3: It's similar to I don't know if you guys ever
- 8:52Speaker 3: worked like in a corporate office, but I did. There's
- 8:56Speaker 3: this thing of like the complaint box that you can
- 8:59Speaker 3: like put in complaints about like effectively managers and then
- 9:05Speaker 3: and you don't have to put your name on it,
- 9:07Speaker 3: so you can just say what you think. And then
- 9:09Speaker 3: you know, people have to you know, you have like
- 9:11Speaker 3: a meeting at the end of the week to be like, okay,
- 9:13Speaker 3: so this is those in the complaint box. It's a
- 9:15Speaker 3: little bit like that. And I'd be lying if there
- 9:18Speaker 3: weren't a lot of like Wells's drinks suck in that
- 9:20Speaker 3: complaint box this year. But you know, well, everyone's upset
- 9:24Speaker 3: because they want stronger drinks and that's just.
- 9:29Speaker 5: Not an option.
- 9:30Speaker 4: It's not an option.
- 9:31Speaker 3: And also, I'm trying to do you a service here
- 9:35Speaker 3: of you not being like I can't believe that.
- 9:40Speaker 4: To me, I'm not as sick as you. Jog ayeah
- 9:44Speaker 4: wan kind because every season you might have to be like, hey, sweetie,
- 9:47Speaker 4: let's go drink of water. Yeah, it's gonna liquid iv
- 9:50Speaker 4: in you.
- 9:51Speaker 5: Huh.
- 9:51Speaker 3: You know. So I think that's what he's talking about
- 9:55Speaker 3: because we see it. We see it on the teaser
- 9:57Speaker 3: of like I present it, but it could be something else.
- 10:01Speaker 4: I don't even know.
- 10:02Speaker 2: So, I mean, because when you hear this and you
- 10:04Speaker 2: hear his statements, do you immediately in your mind go
- 10:07Speaker 2: to what you were talking about in your interview or
- 10:10Speaker 2: something else?
- 10:11Speaker 4: I don't know, Like, so those a lot of those
- 10:13Speaker 4: interviews we do like before the show starts, you know,
- 10:16Speaker 4: so it's a lot of like hyperbole that you're like, well,
- 10:18Speaker 4: I think I know what's what we're going to be
- 10:21Speaker 4: doing this season.
- 10:21Speaker 3: We don't really know, but I don't really know. I'm
- 10:23Speaker 3: not sure if it's really like anything's really happened yet.
- 10:26Speaker 3: I will say this, like we have more leads than
- 10:30Speaker 3: we've ever had come on the show this year, which
- 10:33Speaker 3: is you know, like praise be to Becca for like
- 10:37Speaker 3: kind of like starting this trend of like leads feeling
- 10:39Speaker 3: comfortable coming on the show, which is really really good
- 10:42Speaker 3: because I think one it brings a lot of brand
- 10:45Speaker 3: awareness back to the show. And listen, leads are leads
- 10:50Speaker 3: for a reason, like they're really good TV makers, right,
- 10:52Speaker 3: Like you know that, like they're going to come in
- 10:55Speaker 3: there with some fire and some grit and and also
- 10:57Speaker 3: like a lot of people want to date them and stuff,
- 10:59Speaker 3: so that's really exciting. We have some fun, funny games
- 11:04Speaker 3: and scenarios that we do, you know, there's always those
- 11:07Speaker 3: like tonight we're doing this thing or like and and
- 11:11Speaker 3: we do want this year that we've ever done before.
- 11:13Speaker 3: And I don't even know if it'll make air, but
- 11:15Speaker 3: it's really really funny, and I think if it does
- 11:18Speaker 3: make air, I think that the audience is really going
- 11:21Speaker 3: to love this like new wrinkle that we've thrown in.
- 11:25Speaker 3: But for the for I have no idea what Jesse,
- 11:27Speaker 3: who was talking about.
- 11:29Speaker 4: Honestly, I have no idea what.
- 11:30Speaker 3: I don't even remember saying what you guys said I said,
- 11:32Speaker 3: but I'm sure I said it.
- 11:33Speaker 5: I believe it. You're quoted. It's fine.
- 11:36Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 11:47Speaker 2: So in our last when this headline was red Wells,
- 11:50Speaker 2: and I want to speak my piece to you personally
- 11:54Speaker 2: because I feel like I was against this truth I'll
- 12:00Speaker 2: tell you why.
- 12:01Speaker 5: Okay.
- 12:02Speaker 2: I think one of the healthiest things in life that
- 12:05Speaker 2: we can do is confront issues person to person, confront
- 12:11Speaker 2: them head to head. And I think Paradise is great
- 12:14Speaker 2: because it kind of has always forced people to confront
- 12:16Speaker 2: issues and it makes that weird drama for a bit,
- 12:20Speaker 2: like we have love triangles or Hey, you hooked up
- 12:22Speaker 2: with me before the show and you told me we're
- 12:24Speaker 2: going to date.
- 12:24Speaker 5: Down here, and now we're not dating. I am worried.
- 12:27Speaker 2: This truth box is allowing kind of like a social
- 12:30Speaker 2: media buffer between humans to be able to speak, and
- 12:33Speaker 2: it's just allowing people to hide behind a box. Am
- 12:36Speaker 2: I looking at this scenario wrong? Argue with me on this.
- 12:39Speaker 3: Tell me I'm not right. I think you were right
- 12:42Speaker 3: and you're wrong. Yes, Like I think there is a
- 12:45Speaker 3: little bit of cowardice in not being able to have
- 12:48Speaker 3: the cojones to actually say what you want to say.
- 12:52Speaker 3: But then again, I think the problem that we've had
- 12:56Speaker 3: in the past is that someone feels a certain way
- 12:59Speaker 3: and I might not even be a part of their relationship,
- 13:04Speaker 3: and they don't want to get in the middle of things,
- 13:06Speaker 3: which I totally understand. Like I don't want to be
- 13:08Speaker 3: a potster. I don't want to be a villain, like
- 13:10Speaker 3: this isn't my thing. But like I heard someone say
- 13:13Speaker 3: something and like that's not cool, and I feel like
- 13:15Speaker 3: someone should know that. But I don't want to be
- 13:17Speaker 3: the one that gets in the middle of all the drama,
- 13:19Speaker 3: which I totally understand. And we are now living in
- 13:22Speaker 3: a very interesting world where and I've been talking about
- 13:25Speaker 3: this a lot, Like, you know, when we all went
- 13:28Speaker 3: on the show, social media wasn't such a thing, right,
- 13:31Speaker 3: Like you just kind of like lived your life, and yes,
- 13:34Speaker 3: there were tweets and like you you'd post on Facebook,
- 13:38Speaker 3: like your photos of your food, you eight that day
- 13:41Speaker 3: or whatever. But now the cast members that are coming
- 13:45Speaker 3: on this show are these these kids who have lived
- 13:50Speaker 3: their life with social media and effectively they have been
- 13:56Speaker 3: curating their storyline on their own social media for a
- 13:59Speaker 3: very long time, and they have a very their brand
- 14:03Speaker 3: awareness is so much stronger than what we had, like
- 14:07Speaker 3: and so there's a lot more trepidation going in the
- 14:11Speaker 3: show of being like, Okay, you saw that, or you
- 14:15Speaker 3: heard them say that, or you feel this way you
- 14:17Speaker 3: should say it. Well, that's not like I don't want
- 14:21Speaker 3: to put myself out there like that, you know. But
- 14:23Speaker 3: the problem with that is that it doesn't get to
- 14:25Speaker 3: the heart of the problem, which is the honesty, the
- 14:29Speaker 3: truth and finding your right person. Like Paradise, At least
- 14:35Speaker 3: for Ashley and I when we were there, it was
- 14:38Speaker 3: a lot of like, you did that person that didn't work.
- 14:40Speaker 3: I did that person that didn't work. I did that
- 14:41Speaker 3: person that didn't work. Then you come to this last
- 14:44Speaker 3: person and you go through all these motions, and it's
- 14:47Speaker 3: been it's been a little bit harder with with this
- 14:51Speaker 3: younger generation who's lived their life, you know, being the
- 14:54Speaker 3: star of their own TV show on their phone, and
- 14:58Speaker 3: so I think this is a This was a really
- 15:00Speaker 3: good way of being able to allow people to say
- 15:04Speaker 3: what they want to say without diminishing their brand of
- 15:09Speaker 3: how they perceive themselves in the show, if that makes
- 15:12Speaker 3: any sense.
- 15:12Speaker 6: To you, theres a lot of sense. I think that
- 15:14Speaker 6: was a perfect explanation.
- 15:16Speaker 3: Yeah, it's it's been a weird I'm seeing it transpire
- 15:19Speaker 3: because and of course I'm the guy who's like, I'm
- 15:24Speaker 3: very black and white when I when when I see
- 15:26Speaker 3: things on the show, because it's always happening right in
- 15:29Speaker 3: front of me, and I always say the same thing.
- 15:30Speaker 3: I'm like, but it's crazy if you don't say that, Like,
- 15:34Speaker 3: the entire world is going to be like, well, you
- 15:37Speaker 3: knew this thing, but you didn't say anything. Like that's
- 15:40Speaker 3: bonkers to me, you know. And that's so that's usually
- 15:43Speaker 3: a lot of like what my advice is is like
- 15:45Speaker 3: I think you can need to say something because if
- 15:47Speaker 3: I were in your shoes, I would definitely say it,
- 15:49Speaker 3: because that's crazy if you didn't, Like, I feel like
- 15:51Speaker 3: the audience would be more upset that I didn't say
- 15:53Speaker 3: something than than if I did, you know. So, Yeah,
- 15:58Speaker 3: it's it's an interesting it's very interesting doing the shows
- 16:01Speaker 3: now in comparison to him, you know, Ashley and I
- 16:04Speaker 3: did it, you know, decades ago.
- 16:06Speaker 6: Interesting.
- 16:07Speaker 7: You mentioned that, like there's more leads this season than
- 16:10Speaker 7: ever before.
- 16:11Speaker 6: Why am I only thinking of Rachel?
- 16:13Speaker 4: Why don't you gotta wait and watch a show I guess.
- 16:16Speaker 6: Oh, okay, well I know leads come down.
- 16:18Speaker 2: Good teaser, that's gonna get a lot of people watch it.
- 16:24Speaker 7: Okay, Well, off that question. Who is your dream lead
- 16:28Speaker 7: to come back on Paradise?
- 16:31Speaker 3: Ooh, I mean he's married now with Ben Higgins. That
- 16:35Speaker 3: would be this Dad bought on the Beach.
- 16:39Speaker 4: Yes, oh my god, what I would leave.
- 16:45Speaker 5: I let my chest here grow out for that show.
- 16:47Speaker 3: What I would do to be able to like have
- 16:50Speaker 3: my opening credits with Ben with our shirts off being
- 16:52Speaker 3: like this, this is what the wrong side of thirty
- 16:57Speaker 3: looks like, America.
- 17:00Speaker 4: You will have a lot to look forward to.
- 17:02Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, you're not getting out of the question.
- 17:06Speaker 4: No, that's good. That's a good question.
- 17:07Speaker 3: Okay, he's not a lead, but I would like him
- 17:11Speaker 3: to come uh. And that's Tyler Cameron, Like I think
- 17:15Speaker 3: that he would be. I think he would be in
- 17:17Speaker 3: high demand. So we gotta wait. We gotta wait for
- 17:20Speaker 3: his riz to cool down a little bit before he's
- 17:22Speaker 3: like has to come back on these shows.
- 17:26Speaker 4: And then I think, you know, Peter Krause was a
- 17:30Speaker 4: guy that like everyone loves.
- 17:32Speaker 7: Right, Jared and I are so team at Peter Krause
- 17:35Speaker 7: to do anything Bachelor related. We would love to have
- 17:38Speaker 7: them make him the lead just out of nowhere and
- 17:41Speaker 7: have the audience not even know who he is.
- 17:43Speaker 2: I think Paradise would be a better fit for him.
- 17:45Speaker 2: I would also can I add to this, I would
- 17:47Speaker 2: love to see Pilot Pete in Paradise because I don't
- 17:51Speaker 2: think his personality shows as well as the Bachelor, and
- 17:56Speaker 2: I think he is like really wild and fun, and
- 18:02Speaker 2: he's and like I just feel like he's kind of
- 18:03Speaker 2: got pushed behind. I think he would be a really
- 18:06Speaker 2: great person in Paradise.
- 18:07Speaker 3: Yeah, and listen, you know this is sad because I
- 18:12Speaker 3: was such good I'm such good friends with both of them,
- 18:14Speaker 3: with with uh, with with Caitlin. And I think that
- 18:19Speaker 3: Caitlyn would be really good in Paradise.
- 18:22Speaker 5: You know, that would be really fun.
- 18:24Speaker 7: Wow.
- 18:25Speaker 8: I don't know.
- 18:26Speaker 3: I don't know if she would do it, but she
- 18:28Speaker 3: would be funny down there for sure. Jason to Jason,
- 18:34Speaker 3: never came to Paradise, did he?
- 18:35Speaker 1: No?
- 18:35Speaker 4: He didn't, No, he did it.
- 18:36Speaker 7: Now wait, now you have a whole other show concept
- 18:39Speaker 7: that I'm thinking of, more like Bachelor in Paradise All Stars.
- 18:42Speaker 6: So it would have to be like the huge names.
- 18:46Speaker 7: That's the only way to get the other huge names
- 18:48Speaker 7: to get on for sure.
- 18:50Speaker 3: Or like the one of you guys are Watcher was
- 18:51Speaker 3: like this kind of like bad MTV rip off that
- 18:54Speaker 3: I loved so much called X and the Beach.
- 18:56Speaker 2: Yeah, Jase McNairy from The Bachelor when on that, Yeah.
- 19:01Speaker 6: Jared and I hosted the reunion show one year.
- 19:03Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, could we could do something like that that?
- 19:07Speaker 4: That would be pretty great, Listen.
- 19:08Speaker 3: I just like the fact that that one like like
- 19:12Speaker 3: leads that like don't find love, like still deserve to
- 19:16Speaker 3: like to like find love. It's just funny though, Like
- 19:21Speaker 3: you're I think that they're used to being the star
- 19:24Speaker 3: of the show, and then all of a sudden they
- 19:26Speaker 3: get thrown into a situation where like there is no star.
- 19:29Speaker 3: You know, well there's Jesse, He's the star, I guess.
- 19:31Speaker 3: And then and then you're just kind of like your
- 19:34Speaker 3: your your special treatment is is gone and there's a
- 19:36Speaker 3: little bit of learning curve there, which I I always
- 19:38Speaker 3: find funny.
- 19:39Speaker 2: You know, I wouldn't enjoy that. I want to be
- 19:41Speaker 2: the star. Yeah, I don't want to be the I
- 19:44Speaker 2: want to be the center of attention. I want people.
- 19:46Speaker 2: I want a handler, uh handler, Yeah, I want to
- 19:51Speaker 2: filling up my whiskey glass Wells shaking an empty glass
- 19:56Speaker 2: of ice. Excuse me, sir, oh, I would just like
- 19:59Speaker 2: to come up to Wells and be like, well, another
- 20:00Speaker 2: drink man. Sorry, this one was good enough.
- 20:03Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 20:03Speaker 2: Hey, we obviously have made it very clear that this
- 20:07Speaker 2: show is is uh you know, films in the in
- 20:10Speaker 2: the summertime, and you're off of it now, and I
- 20:14Speaker 2: want to give listeners a taste of what is expected,
- 20:18Speaker 2: and so let's drill into the details a little bit.
- 20:20Speaker 2: What as much as you can. What characters that we
- 20:25Speaker 2: know are going to be in Paradise should we be
- 20:27Speaker 2: most excited to watch?
- 20:29Speaker 3: Okay, I think the world fell in love with Aaron
- 20:32Speaker 3: over this last season, or at least we got a
- 20:35Speaker 3: lot of him on the show on Charity season. I
- 20:39Speaker 3: think that that's a good character to watch. I'm trying
- 20:43Speaker 3: to think of everyone who's who we know is going
- 20:45Speaker 3: to be on there. I like Brandon like yeah, like,
- 20:49Speaker 3: And I know that might be a contrac.
- 20:52Speaker 7: He's always been mad at it because I've defended him
- 20:53Speaker 7: throughout the entire season.
- 20:55Speaker 3: Yeah, like, well, okay, here's what I'll say about Bradenley,
- 21:00Speaker 3: he has weird style, like he reminds me a lot
- 21:04Speaker 3: of Dean if I'm being honest, like just kind of
- 21:07Speaker 3: a out there guy that you're just like I, you know,
- 21:11Speaker 3: and you're not really sure if that's like a bit
- 21:14Speaker 3: you know, like I'm doing this because I want everyone
- 21:16Speaker 3: to think that I'm crazy and different, or like you
- 21:19Speaker 3: are just crazy and different, like and I still don't
- 21:21Speaker 3: know if I really know the answer to that question.
- 21:23Speaker 3: I like him because and obviously it's weird because we
- 21:27Speaker 3: film that show before Charity season aired, so we didn't
- 21:30Speaker 3: get to know who the villains were and who were
- 21:35Speaker 3: so I went into being like, you're just a guy
- 21:37Speaker 3: with rubber ducky earrings on right now, Like if you're
- 21:41Speaker 3: the villain, where have we gone? Like, you know, like
- 21:45Speaker 3: my villain was a guy named Chad who is three
- 21:47Speaker 3: hundred pounds of pure muscle and protein and steroid anger
- 21:51Speaker 3: like your rubber.
- 21:52Speaker 4: Ducky's the bad guy.
- 21:53Speaker 3: Hope ohs Scarf as scary. So I just couldn't buy it.
- 21:59Speaker 3: And I liked it because there was a little bit of,
- 22:01Speaker 3: you know, I want a redemption story in him that
- 22:04Speaker 3: I appreciated and like also, all these guys come down,
- 22:08Speaker 3: they're like, oh, we hate Brandon. I'm like rubber ducky guy,
- 22:12Speaker 3: Like reallys so I I really like him. He's also
- 22:17Speaker 3: just a nice guy. I don't think he's a bad guy.
- 22:21Speaker 3: Who else cat is?
- 22:25Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 22:27Speaker 6: Two cats, one with a KM with the c.
- 22:31Speaker 4: Yes, both of the cats are good.
- 22:33Speaker 5: Uh.
- 22:34Speaker 3: Well the one with the sea is she's like the
- 22:37Speaker 3: one that's like, is a cat lady?
- 22:39Speaker 4: Okay?
- 22:40Speaker 6: Oh is she? She just seems a little bit a
- 22:42Speaker 6: little bit more of an instigator.
- 22:44Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 22:46Speaker 7: Uh.
- 22:47Speaker 3: She's like a bartender in New York. And every time
- 22:49Speaker 3: there's a bartend that comes down there that's like judge
- 22:51Speaker 3: me the entire time, and I'm like, just get out
- 22:52Speaker 3: of here.
- 22:54Speaker 6: A bartender on TV.
- 22:56Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm trying to think of who else is on there?
- 23:00Speaker 4: Those are?
- 23:01Speaker 7: Well, what about what about Rachel and Avan because they
- 23:04Speaker 7: had obviously, you know, a thing in the past.
- 23:07Speaker 3: Yeah, that Rachel's great, but Rachel Rachel, there's a little
- 23:15Speaker 3: bit of like Mama bear that Rachel has that Becca
- 23:18Speaker 3: had this too, you know, where it's they want to
- 23:21Speaker 3: take care of everyone else except themselves, and you're like, hey,
- 23:24Speaker 3: by the way, don't forget like you're supposed to be
- 23:26Speaker 3: here to date people. You know, there's a little bit
- 23:28Speaker 3: of that. Listen, there are a bunch of people that,
- 23:30Speaker 3: like I don't think we've released, that are coming on
- 23:31Speaker 3: the show that are going to be amazing.
- 23:33Speaker 4: Everyone's gonna love this season. It's really really fun.
- 23:37Speaker 3: And there's a wedding in it too, which we haven't
- 23:39Speaker 3: had a wedding in Paradise in a very long time.
- 23:42Speaker 2: And you know what, Traditionally, I'm just thinking off the
- 23:45Speaker 2: top of my head, Bachelor in Paradise weddings have not
- 23:47Speaker 2: been wildly successful.
- 23:48Speaker 5: Have they.
- 23:50Speaker 7: Oh?
- 23:50Speaker 6: Yeah, the ones that have happened there, yeah, very.
- 23:53Speaker 4: Un Yeah, so I'm hoping this one lasts, let's say so.
- 23:56Speaker 3: For Yeah, I really like these two people really rooting
- 24:01Speaker 3: for them.
- 24:11Speaker 2: Well, as we're gonna talk about Joe and Serena's wedding
- 24:13Speaker 2: as we close up. But I like to do this
- 24:16Speaker 2: with you every year before Paradise airs, if we could
- 24:18Speaker 2: take twenty seconds, thirty seconds to just tell people out
- 24:22Speaker 2: there why they should watch Paradise this year or as
- 24:26Speaker 2: long as you really want.
- 24:28Speaker 5: The floor's ears.
- 24:29Speaker 3: Yeah, I think the show is what the show has
- 24:32Speaker 3: always been. So if you have been a fan of Paradise,
- 24:35Speaker 3: you're gonna get that again. You're gonna get tears, you're
- 24:38Speaker 3: gonna get drama, you're gonna get crabs, the ones on
- 24:42Speaker 3: the beach.
- 24:43Speaker 4: You're gonna get engagements.
- 24:45Speaker 3: You're gonna get heartache, You're gonna get breakups, You're gonna
- 24:47Speaker 3: get funny you know, exit Limo interviews, Like all the
- 24:51Speaker 3: things I think that you're looking for from that show
- 24:54Speaker 3: you're gonna get. You know, villains are gonna become heroes,
- 24:58Speaker 3: Heroes are gonacome villains, all that kind of stuff, great
- 25:01Speaker 3: character arc.
- 25:01Speaker 8: It's just a.
- 25:02Speaker 4: Fun, good show.
- 25:04Speaker 3: And I feel like I feel like everyone is going
- 25:09Speaker 3: to be so happy that it's back.
- 25:11Speaker 5: Yeah we are for sure.
- 25:13Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 25:13Speaker 6: All right, So you were the efficient at Joe and
- 25:16Speaker 6: Serena's wedding. How did they come with you with that?
- 25:18Speaker 8: Askia?
- 25:19Speaker 3: Joe texted me and my my initial response was I
- 25:23Speaker 3: feel like this is more of a phone call, but sure,
- 25:29Speaker 3: And I was like, I'm not I'm not a priest,
- 25:32Speaker 3: you know. But luckily you can go online to the
- 25:34Speaker 3: Universal Life Church dot com and get a uh I
- 25:37Speaker 3: should be sponsored by them.
- 25:38Speaker 7: By the way, recently, I recently officiated a wedding two
- 25:41Speaker 7: three weeks ago, and I did it through the Universal
- 25:43Speaker 7: Life Church. And I'm like, Okay, are are we sure
- 25:45Speaker 7: that this is it? Because you basically just signed something
- 25:47Speaker 7: like you sign a so far and that's it.
- 25:50Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 25:50Speaker 4: My I was like thirty seven dollars or like thirty nine.
- 25:53Speaker 3: It wasn't.
- 25:53Speaker 4: It was nothing.
- 25:55Speaker 3: But like now like I'm like, I think I could
- 25:57Speaker 3: be like a cult leader, Like I think I could
- 25:58Speaker 3: say really easy.
- 26:00Speaker 6: You know, how long did it take to write their
- 26:03Speaker 6: ceremony script?
- 26:05Speaker 4: It took a while.
- 26:05Speaker 3: I I have a bunch of friends who have married people,
- 26:09Speaker 3: and I took the script that Jesse Tyler Ferguson did
- 26:13Speaker 3: for ours, and so I kind of did this amalgamation
- 26:16Speaker 3: of all of these different weddings that I liked. And
- 26:19Speaker 3: then obviously they came. They flew out here and we
- 26:21Speaker 3: went to lunch and I was like, let's talk about
- 26:23Speaker 3: what you want, like what you want from me? And
- 26:26Speaker 3: so yeah, it probably took me like three weeks, but
- 26:29Speaker 3: it wasn't like every day all day.
- 26:32Speaker 4: Uh, it didn't take me very long, and it was
- 26:35Speaker 4: it was not till like you know, it's like really good.
- 26:39Speaker 3: Pat myself on the shoulder, but like it was really
- 26:41Speaker 3: really beautiful ceremony and not because of anything that I did,
- 26:45Speaker 3: but because of like their love. It was just so
- 26:47Speaker 3: palpable and obvious. And it was just, uh, it was
- 26:51Speaker 3: so fun and and Joe. Joe had like the best
- 26:54Speaker 3: line of the whole. Like I did like twenty minutes
- 26:56Speaker 3: of stand up up there, which I thought like killed.
- 26:58Speaker 3: Then Joe does one line and absol destroys me and
- 27:01Speaker 3: like absolutely takes the house down, which I love. It's
- 27:03Speaker 3: their moment, no mind, but uh, it was just it
- 27:06Speaker 3: was like really fun, and like both of their families
- 27:08Speaker 3: are exactly what you think their families are, Like it's
- 27:11Speaker 3: just like these really nice Canadian people who are just
- 27:14Speaker 3: so sweet and pretty and fun.
- 27:16Speaker 5: And then like.
- 27:17Speaker 3: Italians from Chicago, like we liked Sass and Peacha, and
- 27:22Speaker 3: everyone's name is Joe and Joe Anne A Josephine And
- 27:26Speaker 3: it was just like IVY was like a movie I was,
- 27:29Speaker 3: and I was like a part of it.
- 27:30Speaker 4: And yeah, it was so much fun.
- 27:33Speaker 5: In my time.
- 27:34Speaker 2: I think it's up to fifteen or thirteen people I've
- 27:36Speaker 2: been able to officiate the wedding for.
- 27:38Speaker 4: It's not it's not a competition, then.
- 27:41Speaker 2: No, Well you got to remember I also started an
- 27:44Speaker 2: event called the Wedding Fest like years ago, where we
- 27:47Speaker 2: married ten people at once, right, okay, well yeah, it
- 27:50Speaker 2: was a wild thing before COVID. I say this to
- 27:53Speaker 2: say fifteen people in there's nothing that makes me more
- 27:56Speaker 2: nervous in my life than marrying people. Were you nervous
- 28:00Speaker 2: for this like massive responsibility?
- 28:02Speaker 3: Not really, I have really no anxiety speaking in front
- 28:06Speaker 3: of people if I'm prepared and all that kind of stuff.
- 28:09Speaker 3: But I remember I was up there and Joe walked down,
- 28:13Speaker 3: and I was like, I was still feeling pretty good.
- 28:15Speaker 3: And then I saw Serena start walking down, and I
- 28:18Speaker 3: had this flashback to my wedding of when I when
- 28:21Speaker 3: I saw Sarah turn the corner, and I was like,
- 28:24Speaker 3: that was the That was the biggest day of my life.
- 28:26Speaker 3: It was the most important moment of my life. And
- 28:29Speaker 3: then I then I was like shot back to where
- 28:31Speaker 3: I was sitting in Charleston, you know, at the altern
- 28:34Speaker 3: I was like, oh my god, I really don't want
- 28:36Speaker 3: to screw up their most important day of their life.
- 28:39Speaker 3: And then I started getting a little bit of a
- 28:43Speaker 3: little bit of you know, flop sweat, but you know,
- 28:45Speaker 3: then I opened up with like a couple jokes and
- 28:46Speaker 3: then we were off running in and it was it
- 28:48Speaker 3: was fine.
- 28:49Speaker 7: Yeah, once those first couple of words come out of
- 28:51Speaker 7: your mouth, you're like, okay, So I just want to
- 28:54Speaker 7: know a little bit more about Joe's dad, because everybody
- 28:56Speaker 7: made it seem like he was like the big character
- 28:58Speaker 7: of the wedding.
- 28:59Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yeah, Big Joe.
- 29:03Speaker 3: First of all, like Sarah and my wife, Sarah and
- 29:06Speaker 3: Big Joe are like best of friends now, Like they
- 29:08Speaker 3: hung out the entire time. There was a moment in
- 29:10Speaker 3: which I walked outside and everyone was hanging out at
- 29:14Speaker 3: like a table and Sarah was singing show tunes to
- 29:19Speaker 3: Big Joe and like all these Italian and I was like,
- 29:23Speaker 3: do you think that they're like Broadway? And they were
- 29:28Speaker 3: loving it, like they were all singing like and it
- 29:32Speaker 3: was just bonkers. But Big Joe is the best, Like
- 29:37Speaker 3: he was just so much like larger than life. And yeah,
- 29:41Speaker 3: we're going we have like we are playing a trip
- 29:43Speaker 3: to go to Chicago purely to go have Big Joe
- 29:47Speaker 3: cook for us. And he's like, I'm gonna make you
- 29:51Speaker 3: They call it gravy, but I have it's sauce. We
- 29:53Speaker 3: call it sauce where I come from. I'm make you
- 29:55Speaker 3: a delicious sauce. And we're like, yeah, okay, I don't
- 29:57Speaker 3: know what that is, but let's do we're doing that.
- 29:59Speaker 3: So yeah, he was the best. But also Serena's parents
- 30:03Speaker 3: are absolute dolls. And by the way, Serena's mom is
- 30:10Speaker 3: drop dead gorgeous. Shocked, just not shocked. Well, so so
- 30:15Speaker 3: what When I met her for the first time, I go,
- 30:17Speaker 3: you look just like Serena and she goes, you mean,
- 30:20Speaker 3: Serena looks just like me?
- 30:22Speaker 4: And I said, no, you look a girl.
- 30:27Speaker 5: That was good. Comeback.
- 30:29Speaker 2: Well, yes, you're smooth. You're smooth man. Hey, Wells, it's
- 30:33Speaker 2: always great having you on. Cannot wait to see you
- 30:35Speaker 2: this weekend. Uh continued success obviously as the season of
- 30:39Speaker 2: Paradise comes about.
- 30:41Speaker 5: Thanks for talking about it with this.
- 30:43Speaker 4: We hope to have you back, all right, Love you guys,
- 30:45Speaker 4: see us see you this weekend. Okay, ye bye bye bye.
