- 0:26SPEAKER_05: You could go back and listen to all of them.
- 0:28SPEAKER_05: Dwayne, you're probably on seven or eight of them.
- 0:30SPEAKER_05: Seven or eight.
- 0:31SPEAKER_05: I should say six or seven.
- 0:33SPEAKER_05: Just to piss some people off.
- 0:35SPEAKER_05: I'll say that.
- 0:36SPEAKER_05: Yeah, yeah.
- 0:37SPEAKER_05: But yeah, man.
- 0:38SPEAKER_05: Dwayne is here again.
- 0:39SPEAKER_05: We have a uh guest gonna join us a little bit later.
- 0:41SPEAKER_05: AJ Leidig is here, very funny comic, up and coming, yeah, based here in Chicago.
- 0:46SPEAKER_05: We love to see that.
- 0:47SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 0:48SPEAKER_05: Right?
- 0:48SPEAKER_05: Chi Town always.
- 0:50SPEAKER_05: As long as they move, as long as they get out of here.
- 0:53SPEAKER_07: Yeah, you know?
- 0:54SPEAKER_07: You're good.
- 0:55SPEAKER_07: You're right, right.
- 0:57SPEAKER_07: And leave it to us.
- 0:58SPEAKER_07: Yeah, yeah.
- 0:59SPEAKER_07: Man, you're funny.
- 0:59SPEAKER_07: You got promise.
- 1:00SPEAKER_07: You're great.
- 1:01SPEAKER_07: You need to go.
- 1:02SPEAKER_05: Okay, that's seeing less of that now, right?
- 1:05SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 1:05SPEAKER_07: Less people are moving out.
- 1:07SPEAKER_07: What was your first move?
- 1:09SPEAKER_07: My first move was to New York.
- 1:16SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 1:17SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 1:17SPEAKER_07: My first because the thing is, and it w which is the great thing about Chicago, even now, is that Chicago was always the place to get good, but not to get famous.
- 1:30SPEAKER_07: Right, right.
- 1:30SPEAKER_07: That's that's before the, you know, now with the internet, you can get famous from your your uh closet, from your living room.
- 1:37SPEAKER_07: But you know, you used to do comedy and and you could work, you know, go up, do different spots, work the craft, and then and then you decide where you were gonna go to either the East Coast or the West Coast to try to make something happen.
- 1:49SPEAKER_05: Yeah, there's a sense that like, and even like, and and this is maybe something that Chicago needs to be better at, is they don't recognize a lot of stuff until they leave.
- 1:59SPEAKER_05: And then maybe they come back and they're like, oh now.
- 2:01SPEAKER_05: But like we're big enough, you could just do it here from here.
- 2:04SPEAKER_07: Well, and right, and people have tried.
- 2:07SPEAKER_07: You you tried.
- 2:08SPEAKER_07: Remember a few years ago that when we thought we were gonna have a the Pat McGann show from the studios at C.
- 2:15SPEAKER_07: Oh yeah, from WCIU.
- 2:16SPEAKER_07: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 2:17SPEAKER_05: And then um didn't happen.
- 2:20SPEAKER_05: It didn't happen, but we had a great New Year's show.
- 2:22SPEAKER_05: That was funny.
- 2:23SPEAKER_05: Don't even remember what year that was, but that was a good time.
- 2:25SPEAKER_05: Yeah, 20, what was that?
- 2:27SPEAKER_05: 2000 and blur?
- 2:29SPEAKER_07: Yeah, 2000 and blur.
- 2:31SPEAKER_05: That's like the last how many years feel that way.
- 2:33SPEAKER_05: I mean, it's hard to tell them apart.
- 2:36SPEAKER_05: But this is 2026.
- 2:38SPEAKER_05: Spring 2026 is upon us.
- 2:40SPEAKER_05: Happy spring, Dwayne.
- 2:42SPEAKER_05: Are you enjoying the uh the weather all over the country is bananas, man?
- 2:46SPEAKER_00: Woo!
- 2:47SPEAKER_05: I was hiding out from it.
- 2:48SPEAKER_05: I was in Arizona all weekend and uh came back yesterday to, I mean, we almost didn't even land here.
- 2:55SPEAKER_05: People were getting diverted out of Chicago to Iran, to safer airspace.
- 3:05SPEAKER_07: Man, yeah.
- 3:06SPEAKER_07: What was it in Arizona, like 300 degrees?
- 3:09SPEAKER_05: It was hot, and they were saying down there it was like this usually not this hot.
- 3:13SPEAKER_05: They were moving day games to night games.
- 3:16SPEAKER_05: Uh oh, for spring training.
- 3:17SPEAKER_05: For spring training, yeah.
- 3:18SPEAKER_05: It got close to 90.
- 3:20SPEAKER_05: Ooh, wee.
- 3:21SPEAKER_05: So did my uh first pitch.
- 3:26SPEAKER_05: Close to 90, just outside the zone.
- 3:30SPEAKER_05: How close to 90, Pat?
- 3:32SPEAKER_05: I threw a little high.
- 3:34SPEAKER_05: No, I did get to do that on Saturday.
- 3:36SPEAKER_05: I went down there.
- 3:36SPEAKER_05: First time at Camelback Ranch.
- 3:38SPEAKER_05: Okay.
- 3:38SPEAKER_05: Now the White Sox share this facility with the Dodgers.
- 3:42SPEAKER_05: And um, it's cool.
- 3:43SPEAKER_05: I mean, it's a good vibe down there.
- 3:45SPEAKER_05: The spring training vibe, there's a ton of teams in Arizona.
- 3:48SPEAKER_05: Um and uh yeah, I got to do that.
- 3:51SPEAKER_05: I warmed up with Southpaw with the mascot.
- 3:54SPEAKER_05: I mean, I'm thinking like, dude, if this guy, whoever's in there, I don't know if he's a guy, girl, whatever, in a mascot outfit, you know, 90 degrees.
- 4:03SPEAKER_05: Woo! How's he uh how's Southpaw see the ball coming at him?
- 4:07SPEAKER_07: Not only that, man, well, you sticking like deodorant down his mouth here.
- 4:10SPEAKER_07: Hit yourself off with this, South.
- 4:12SPEAKER_07: Yeah, do they have a fan in there inside the uh I'm not even sure.
- 4:16SPEAKER_05: I don't know how that works, man.
- 4:18SPEAKER_05: But beautiful day at the ballpark.
- 4:20SPEAKER_05: And uh nice little touch.
- 4:21SPEAKER_05: I happened to land there the day Nancy Faust.
- 4:25SPEAKER_05: Oh, wow.
- 4:26SPEAKER_05: The legendary Nancy Faust.
- 4:28SPEAKER_07: Organist.
- 4:29SPEAKER_07: Yeah, you remember Nancy?
- 4:31SPEAKER_07: I remember I would always hear that name, and you know, um, was it uh yeah, her playing the organ and so she has to show up at spring training?
- 4:39SPEAKER_07: She got a train in the spring training.
- 4:41SPEAKER_07: She's retired, yeah.
- 4:41SPEAKER_07: She's getting loose.
- 4:42SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 4:44SPEAKER_05: What's the deal?
- 4:45SPEAKER_05: They fly Nancy in.
- 4:48SPEAKER_05: Get some songs in.
- 4:49SPEAKER_05: We'll see how you're doing.
- 4:51SPEAKER_05: Right, right.
- 4:52SPEAKER_05: Um, yeah, she didn't do do all that great.
- 4:54SPEAKER_05: She's gonna start in AAA this year.
- 4:55SPEAKER_05: Yeah, and then uh maybe they'll bring her up.
- 4:57SPEAKER_05: She misses a note, they just walk out.
- 4:59SPEAKER_08: Send in the lefty, send in the other organist.
- 5:03SPEAKER_05: Yeah, right?
- 5:03SPEAKER_05: Yeah, yeah.
- 5:04SPEAKER_05: She is um retired now.
- 5:07SPEAKER_05: I don't know how many years she was the organist, probably 40 years.
- 5:11SPEAKER_05: Man, used to be a great trivia question.
- 5:12SPEAKER_05: I remember growing up, who's the only person to play for the Blackhawks, Bulls, and White Sox?
- 5:18SPEAKER_05: And it was Nancy Faust.
- 5:21SPEAKER_05: Wow.
- 5:21SPEAKER_05: That was the answer.
- 5:22SPEAKER_05: Maybe there was another team in there too.
- 5:24SPEAKER_05: I don't know.
- 5:25SPEAKER_05: But her contributions are significant.
- 5:27SPEAKER_05: You know, like it's kind of like all over sports now, maybe globally, certainly nationally, but the na nah nah, hey, hey, goodbye.
- 5:35SPEAKER_05: That's right.
- 5:36SPEAKER_05: She started that, she turned that song into the taunt that it is.
- 5:41SPEAKER_05: That's how you know Southsiders can take anything and turn it into a taunt and an insult.
- 5:46SPEAKER_07: Yeah, yeah.
- 5:47SPEAKER_07: Anything and everything.
- 5:49SPEAKER_07: So have a nice day.
- 5:51SPEAKER_07: Hey, wait a minute.
- 5:52SPEAKER_07: That guy didn't.
- 5:52SPEAKER_07: With a smile.
- 5:53SPEAKER_06: Yeah, did you tell me to have a nice day?
- 5:55SPEAKER_06: I'll kill you.
- 5:56SPEAKER_05: She started playing that song when like maybe they would chase a pitcher and they're walking to the dugout, like you gotta hit the showers.
- 6:04SPEAKER_05: It was, you know, the whole taunting part of that song.
- 6:07SPEAKER_05: She got a gold record for that.
- 6:08SPEAKER_05: What?
- 6:09SPEAKER_05: Because rejuvenated that song, brought it back to life.
- 6:13SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 6:13SPEAKER_05: Who was that by?
- 6:14SPEAKER_05: Steam, I believe.
- 6:15SPEAKER_05: Steam, that's right.
- 6:17SPEAKER_05: I don't know what else they were into.
- 6:18SPEAKER_07: You know any other Steam songs?
- 6:21SPEAKER_07: Uh no, not really.
- 6:22SPEAKER_07: I think that's the best of Steam.
- 6:24SPEAKER_05: That is the only.
- 6:26SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 6:27SPEAKER_07: Steam, bread, all those one-word groups.
- 6:30SPEAKER_07: So now does Steam get broke off?
- 6:33SPEAKER_07: Or whoever wrote that song?
- 6:34SPEAKER_05: Oh, I'm sure, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 6:35SPEAKER_05: Oh, they got royalty, or yeah, she she brought that whole thing.
- 6:39SPEAKER_05: That's iconic.
- 6:40SPEAKER_05: Her other contribution was just playing walk-up music.
- 6:44SPEAKER_05: Walk-up songs.
- 6:45SPEAKER_07: Did she write I think she did write that?
- 6:50SPEAKER_05: She yeah.
- 6:52SPEAKER_05: You might know her from her hit Charge.
- 6:59SPEAKER_05: What were the other ones?
- 7:02SPEAKER_05: Didn't you?
- 7:03SPEAKER_05: You almost had like a bit like that, didn't you?
- 7:05SPEAKER_05: Yeah, dude.
- 7:06SPEAKER_07: About like about uh people playing music during uh civil war.
- 7:11SPEAKER_07: Oh yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 7:12SPEAKER_07: The trumpeter.
- 7:13SPEAKER_07: Yeah, the trumpeter.
- 7:14SPEAKER_06: Uh this next song I uh I wrote in Paris.
- 7:19SPEAKER_06: I call this one Charge.
- 7:26SPEAKER_06: Let's go, troops.
- 7:28SPEAKER_05: Yeah, it was a great day down there.
- 7:29SPEAKER_05: Oh, uh very hot.
- 7:31SPEAKER_05: Saw Chuck Garfine, saw a uh past guest of the uh podcast.
- 7:35SPEAKER_05: Chuck is down there doing his thing.
- 7:37SPEAKER_05: They'll be uh coming up here starting the season soon.
- 7:40SPEAKER_07: You know, when does the season start?
- 7:42SPEAKER_05: Well, it snowed yesterday, so I think pretty soon.
- 7:46SPEAKER_05: Right.
- 7:47SPEAKER_05: It was like and it was like 15 today.
- 7:49SPEAKER_05: Oh man, these guys, I feel bad for them.
- 7:52SPEAKER_05: You're down there playing in this weather for a month, and then you come up.
- 7:55SPEAKER_05: Should they be training?
- 7:57SPEAKER_05: The White Sox should train in like the Pacific Northwest and come down just to get ready.
- 8:04SPEAKER_05: You're training for April in Chicago, yeah.
- 8:07SPEAKER_05: Why don't they have the go to Edmonton?
- 8:10SPEAKER_05: Then you come down, man.
- 8:12SPEAKER_07: Dude, this weather's easy to play in, you know, and then but then here's the thing.
- 8:16SPEAKER_07: So they start when it's cold, and then hopefully they end the seat season when it's cold, right?
- 8:24SPEAKER_07: Right in the World Series, yeah, for sure.
- 8:26SPEAKER_07: Yeah, yeah.
- 8:27SPEAKER_05: Have you had that thought too?
- 8:29SPEAKER_05: Like, I always feel bad for those guys as well.
- 8:31SPEAKER_05: Like, you're playing all summer, it's a summer game, right?
- 8:34SPEAKER_05: You know, and then the World Series, you're like, oh, here's my chance to finally win everything.
- 8:39SPEAKER_05: This is like the culmination of, you know, and and it's you're you see your own breath.
- 8:43SPEAKER_07: Yeah, it's October, late October, going into November, you're freezing, you know, you're checking football scores, and it's a long season.
- 8:53SPEAKER_05: I don't know how they decided.
- 8:54SPEAKER_05: 162 games.
- 8:57SPEAKER_07: What?
- 8:57SPEAKER_07: Now, okay, right.
- 9:00SPEAKER_07: What did it use what did baseball season?
- 9:03SPEAKER_05: It was 154 back in the day.
- 9:06SPEAKER_07: Really?
- 9:06SPEAKER_07: And then they I don't know.
- 9:07SPEAKER_07: It was always long.
- 9:08SPEAKER_07: It was always long.
- 9:09SPEAKER_07: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 9:10SPEAKER_07: Jeez.
- 9:11SPEAKER_07: I don't you think they should end it maybe like what?
- 9:14SPEAKER_07: We what do you think the ideal length for a baseball season?
- 9:18SPEAKER_05: I would love to when they used to start middle of April.
- 9:21SPEAKER_05: Now they start end of March.
- 9:22SPEAKER_05: Like they're playing opening day will be like March 30th or 31st.
- 9:25SPEAKER_05: Right.
- 9:26SPEAKER_05: I used to like, you know, middle of April.
- 9:29SPEAKER_05: It'd be nice if the playoffs were done before Halloween.
- 9:33SPEAKER_05: Have them done before, you know, mid-October.
- 9:35SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 9:35SPEAKER_05: You know, fall classic.
- 9:37SPEAKER_05: Right.
- 9:37SPEAKER_05: Not the winter games.
- 9:39SPEAKER_05: Right.
- 9:39SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 9:41SPEAKER_05: Hey guys, quick question.
- 9:43SPEAKER_05: Are you washing your face with the same soap you wash your car with?
- 9:46SPEAKER_05: Do you shower in the driveway too?

- 10:19SPEAKER_05: So anyway, it was a nice weekend.
- 10:22SPEAKER_05: Um Tempe, improv was where I was uh had the shows.
- 10:26SPEAKER_05: That is a great club, man.
- 10:28SPEAKER_05: It's legendary, actually.
- 10:29SPEAKER_05: Like they have I think they've a lot of people have taped specials there.
- 10:34SPEAKER_05: They have such a great reputation.
- 10:36SPEAKER_05: Um you know what is a thing, too.
- 10:39SPEAKER_05: So when these guys in LA, because I had a show Thursday night, I got bumped for Jamie Foxx.
- 10:44SPEAKER_05: Jamie Foxx was coming down.
- 10:45SPEAKER_07: Wait a minute.
- 10:46SPEAKER_07: I'm like, they bumped you for Jamie Foxx.
- 10:48SPEAKER_05: Yeah, come on.
- 10:49SPEAKER_04: What's going on?
- 10:51SPEAKER_05: What does he got?
- 10:51SPEAKER_08: An Oscar?
- 10:52SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 10:53SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 10:54SPEAKER_08: And an Emmy?
- 10:55SPEAKER_08: And uh and a several movies?
- 10:58SPEAKER_08: Is he is he he got is he uh one away.
- 11:01SPEAKER_07: He needs a Tony.
- 11:02SPEAKER_07: He needs a Tony.
- 11:03SPEAKER_07: Okay.
- 11:04SPEAKER_05: So he's close.
- 11:04SPEAKER_07: Yeah, I think he hangs out with a brother named Tony.
- 11:07SPEAKER_07: Oh, does he really?
- 11:09SPEAKER_07: I don't know.
- 11:10SPEAKER_07: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 11:12SPEAKER_07: That cat is super talented, man.
- 11:13SPEAKER_07: Oh, crazy talented.
- 11:15SPEAKER_07: So what so so they bumped you, so what that means?
- 11:17SPEAKER_07: So what happens with you?
- 11:18SPEAKER_05: I just get a night off.
- 11:19SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 11:20SPEAKER_05: They offered me a spot in another club, like, hey, if you want to go do, you know, there was another club because they have like five clubs in that area, maybe.
- 11:28SPEAKER_05: They got Desert Ridge, they got a club stand up live in Phoenix, they got the Tempe Improv, and I think these guys are also involved with the Fort Lauderdale and Miami clubs.
- 11:36SPEAKER_05: Oh, so they're open one in West Palm Beach.
- 11:39SPEAKER_07: Okay, so there's whoever the the group is or the person is that owns that improv owns some other stuff as well.
- 11:44SPEAKER_07: Yeah, okay.
- 11:45SPEAKER_06: So he was gonna let you say, Hey, if you want to go over and do yeah, but then it's like what am I gonna do?
- 11:49SPEAKER_05: Now I'm gonna drop in somewhere else and you know interrupting.
- 11:51SPEAKER_05: And then you bump them.
- 11:53SPEAKER_05: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 11:53SPEAKER_05: So I just I took the night off.
- 11:55SPEAKER_05: Yeah, um, Kim was down there with, so we just, you know, it was like nice.
- 11:59SPEAKER_05: Just went out for dinner, yeah, had a good time.
- 12:02SPEAKER_05: Tried to take a Waymo, they got the Waymo's down there.
- 12:04SPEAKER_05: That's what I heard.
- 12:05SPEAKER_05: Which one?
- 12:06SPEAKER_05: Damon?
- 12:08SPEAKER_07: I'm sorry, that's the Wayans.
- 12:09SPEAKER_05: Have you seen the Waymo, the driverless vehicle?
- 12:13SPEAKER_07: I've heard of it, brother, and I've heard some not good things about Waymo.
- 12:19SPEAKER_07: Really?
- 12:19SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 12:20SPEAKER_07: What have you heard?
- 12:21SPEAKER_07: I heard people uh uh like Waymo sometimes wouldn't stop or just running over folk and you know.
- 12:31SPEAKER_07: I'm have you ever heard of it?
- 12:33SPEAKER_05: I don't even know who decided it was legal or who who decides, like, yeah, you can just do that.
- 12:39SPEAKER_05: Because it's taking jobs, obviously, right?
- 12:43SPEAKER_05: Drivers, Uber drivers, or whoever it is, right?
- 12:45SPEAKER_05: And then who they're kind of like hogging that technology.
- 12:50SPEAKER_05: Why can't we buy a car like that?
- 12:52SPEAKER_05: I would love to have a car like that for myself.
- 12:55SPEAKER_05: I'd rather get that than a Tesla.
- 12:57SPEAKER_05: Just get in a Waymo and like have a roaming office.
- 13:00SPEAKER_07: Well, I always said, man, if you had a ride like that, and then the the I guess the downside is you miss a payment, it repossesses itself.
- 13:11SPEAKER_07: Just drives off while you at the restaurant with your date.
- 13:14SPEAKER_06: And anyway, did my car just leave?
- 13:17SPEAKER_07: I'm gonna go find another owner.
- 13:21SPEAKER_07: Car left me for somebody who could pay for it.
- 13:23SPEAKER_07: What the f yeah, man.
- 13:25SPEAKER_07: Well, you but you know, Pat, right.
- 13:28SPEAKER_07: First it was like Lyft and Uber.
- 13:31SPEAKER_07: Here's the thing, man.
- 13:32SPEAKER_07: Okay.
- 13:35SPEAKER_07: They had this is what I don't like.
- 13:36SPEAKER_07: Like it used to be back in the day, what they had, remember uh gypsy cabs?
- 13:40SPEAKER_07: Did you ever know about that?
- 13:41SPEAKER_07: No.
- 13:41SPEAKER_07: Okay, like on 95th, you get the you end the line, red line, they would have brothers there just offering you rides, just you know, hey man, wherever you knew.
- 13:50SPEAKER_07: So they outlawed that.
- 13:52SPEAKER_07: But then Lyft and Uber come along and then they put it online and make it digital.
- 13:58SPEAKER_07: It's the same thing, right?
- 14:00SPEAKER_07: Yeah, and that was legal.
- 14:02SPEAKER_05: Yeah, you can't solicit rides at the airport, but you can like call somebody to get some.
- 14:06SPEAKER_05: Yeah, but you can call some drunk stranger.
- 14:08SPEAKER_05: I had an Uber driver from my neighborhood.
- 14:11SPEAKER_05: It was like you get the call to Uber, and it's like, dude, it's it's Skippy again.
- 14:16SPEAKER_05: It's like the same driver.
- 14:17SPEAKER_05: Like I've had this guy three days in a row or three times in a row that I was going to, and then we just I just started like, dude, can we do this between us?
- 14:26SPEAKER_05: Like that that that would be like, you know.
- 14:28SPEAKER_07: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 14:29SPEAKER_07: I don't know.
- 14:30SPEAKER_07: But then okay, so now that eliminates the some of the workforce, and now you have like I said, every every advance in technology, less people are working, right?
- 14:41SPEAKER_07: So now with Waymo, you're putting uh there's way less.
- 14:45SPEAKER_07: Yeah, yeah.
- 14:46SPEAKER_07: There's way more people unemployed.
- 14:48SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 14:49SPEAKER_05: You know what I mean?
- 14:50SPEAKER_07: It is, it is.
- 14:51SPEAKER_05: Would you get in one?
- 14:52SPEAKER_05: Because we try to get in one and they're out of range.
- 14:56SPEAKER_05: So it's like the only go so far, I guess.
- 14:58SPEAKER_05: I don't know what the range is, but you can I don't know if they're getting on the highway.
- 15:02SPEAKER_05: Um but they are out there, dude.
- 15:05SPEAKER_05: They're everywhere.
- 15:05SPEAKER_05: That they're they're in Phoenix, Tempe area.
- 15:08SPEAKER_05: And by the way, Phoenix, Tempe, Scottsdale.
- 15:10SPEAKER_05: If you ever go down there area, like I have no idea how you change like where you know where you are, or what's the difference.
- 15:17SPEAKER_05: Because it's all flat and vast.
- 15:20SPEAKER_05: They're like, is this Phoenix?
- 15:21SPEAKER_05: No, this is Mesa.
- 15:22SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 15:22SPEAKER_05: That's Tempe across the street.
- 15:24SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 15:24SPEAKER_05: And then you're like, all right, is this still Phoenix?
- 15:26SPEAKER_05: No, this is Scottsdale.
- 15:28SPEAKER_07: Scottsdale.
- 15:28SPEAKER_07: I used to I used to do a uh a club in Scottsdale.
- 15:32SPEAKER_07: This cat uh Howard Hughes had a club for the nah.
- 15:37SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 15:41SPEAKER_07: Yeah, you know, I mean, he was hiding out, you know, I mean, booking clubs, you know, little reclusive.
- 15:47SPEAKER_07: Yeah, a little reclusive hairs all along.
- 15:49SPEAKER_07: Um no, so he uh so I did that a couple times.
- 15:52SPEAKER_07: I did Tempe Improv once.
- 15:54SPEAKER_07: Yeah, years ago with a cat named Freddie Soto.
- 15:58SPEAKER_07: Oh, I've heard of this name.
- 15:59SPEAKER_07: Freddie was great, man.
- 16:00SPEAKER_07: He passed away.
- 16:01SPEAKER_07: But uh sorry, dude.
- 16:07SPEAKER_05: That's not disrespectful.
- 16:08SPEAKER_05: That's just podcast language.
- 16:10SPEAKER_05: That's our shorthand.
- 16:12SPEAKER_08: It was doing spring train.
- 16:19SPEAKER_08: Woo!
- 16:20SPEAKER_05: Come on, Emmy.
- 16:23SPEAKER_08: Yeah, he's good.
- 16:24SPEAKER_05: All right, while you gather yourself, we're gonna bring our guest in.
- 16:27SPEAKER_05: How about it?
- 16:28SPEAKER_05: Come on in, AJ Live egg.
- 16:30SPEAKER_05: Dwayne's gotta gather himself.
- 16:33SPEAKER_05: We're bringing in AJ.
- 16:35SPEAKER_08: Hey, what's going on?
- 16:36SPEAKER_08: What's going on?
- 16:37SPEAKER_08: Uh what's going on?
- 16:39SPEAKER_08: Oh, I do know AJ.
- 16:40SPEAKER_08: You do?
- 16:41SPEAKER_08: Yeah, yeah, whatever, brother.
- 16:42SPEAKER_08: This is how we do it.
- 16:43SPEAKER_04: This is how we prepare for the guest.
- 16:46SPEAKER_02: Yes, appreciate you bringing me in right after your death.
- 16:48SPEAKER_08: That was nice.
- 16:51SPEAKER_08: Speaking of dying, let's bring this young brother, but you know who isn't.
- 16:58SPEAKER_05: You know who's still here, alive and breathing.
- 17:02SPEAKER_05: AJ Leiding.
- 17:03SPEAKER_02: Thank you for having me.
- 17:06SPEAKER_02: Yeah, pour one out.
- 17:08SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 17:09SPEAKER_02: I do want to say, uh, if you don't mind me say, probably from just watching, the Damon Waymo, that deserved more.
- 17:14SPEAKER_02: From the room.
- 17:16SPEAKER_02: Just the idea that you ordered a Waymo and one of the Wayne's brothers showed up to pick you up, piggyback style.
- 17:22SPEAKER_02: That's kind of fun.
- 17:24SPEAKER_06: Damon?
- 17:25SPEAKER_06: Brother, I thought you were doing good.
- 17:27SPEAKER_05: Keenan Ivory will arrive in nine minutes.
- 17:29SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 17:30SPEAKER_07: And it's a lot of Wayans, man.
- 17:32SPEAKER_07: There's a lot of Waymo's.
- 17:34SPEAKER_07: Can you name them all the Wayans?
- 17:36SPEAKER_07: Um, they're sleepy.
- 17:41SPEAKER_08: Sneezy.
- 17:42SPEAKER_08: Uh itchy?
- 17:47SPEAKER_08: I don't know.
- 17:50SPEAKER_08: Snitchy.
- 17:51SPEAKER_08: I don't know.
- 17:52SPEAKER_08: I don't know.
- 17:53SPEAKER_08: Hey, man.
- 17:54SPEAKER_02: And Marlin.
- 17:54SPEAKER_02: I'm still recovered from the death joke.
- 17:56SPEAKER_02: That was nice.
- 17:57SPEAKER_02: Sorry.
- 17:58SPEAKER_02: That was a wild way to bring me on, man.
- 17:59SPEAKER_02: Hey, happy for thank you guys for having me.
- 18:01SPEAKER_02: Happy to be here.
- 18:02SPEAKER_02: Yeah, of course, man.
- 18:03SPEAKER_05: It's good to see you.
- 18:04SPEAKER_05: You gotta uh we gotta learn more about you, AJ.
- 18:06SPEAKER_05: I know you're uh you're living in here in Chicago now.
- 18:09SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 18:09SPEAKER_05: Where are you from?
- 18:10SPEAKER_04: I'm from Chicago originally.
- 18:11SPEAKER_02: I'm from the suburbs, technically, which I know people don't know.
- 18:14SPEAKER_05: Well, that is technically.
- 18:15SPEAKER_05: This is a Chicago-based podcast, AJ.
- 18:17SPEAKER_05: So tell us what suburb you're from.
- 18:19SPEAKER_02: I'm uh originally from Algonquin, uh, but then I lived in Schomburg for a bunch of years.
- 18:24SPEAKER_05: Okay, the burg.
- 18:25SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 18:25SPEAKER_02: Yeah the burgh, as they call it.
- 18:27SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 18:27SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 18:28SPEAKER_05: Good for you, man.
- 18:29SPEAKER_05: Where did you go to high school?
- 18:30SPEAKER_02: I went to uh Marion Central and Woodstock.
- 18:33SPEAKER_02: Two two high schools.
- 18:34SPEAKER_02: No, Marion Central is the school and it's in Woodstock.
- 18:37SPEAKER_02: Oh, it's in Woodstock.
- 18:38SPEAKER_07: Oh, all right.
- 18:39SPEAKER_08: The stock.
- 18:40SPEAKER_07: Yes.
- 18:40SPEAKER_07: Yeah, yeah.
- 18:41SPEAKER_07: You went from the stock to the burgh.
- 18:42SPEAKER_07: Are you from there or something?
- 18:43SPEAKER_07: No.
- 18:44SPEAKER_07: I had a cousin that stayed in Schomburg, though, years ago, in uh Arlington Heights in that area.
- 18:48SPEAKER_07: Okay, okay.
- 18:49SPEAKER_07: Yeah, so you know the Heights.
- 18:51SPEAKER_07: The Heights.
- 18:52SPEAKER_05: The um Woodstock is uh Groundhog Day, right?
- 18:54SPEAKER_02: Yes, yeah, yeah.
- 18:55SPEAKER_02: The Bill Murray thing.
- 18:56SPEAKER_02: It's uh infamously famous, and um he's never come back to visit, but they named like every burger after him and everything.
- 19:03SPEAKER_02: So Oh really?
- 19:04SPEAKER_02: They take a lot of credit for it.
- 19:06SPEAKER_05: Yeah, I have never been to Woodstock.
- 19:08SPEAKER_05: I don't think I've been driven by there.
- 19:11SPEAKER_02: You're not missing much.
- 19:12SPEAKER_05: No, I've it's it's a nice, beautiful, quaint town.
- 19:15SPEAKER_05: People enjoy going to Woodstock.
- 19:16SPEAKER_05: You got a like an old opera thing there, there's a theater, right?
- 19:20SPEAKER_02: It's there's a there's a square that they do like a tree lighting every year.
- 19:24SPEAKER_02: That's kind of cool.
- 19:25SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 19:25SPEAKER_02: Um, it's a very small town.
- 19:27SPEAKER_02: It's right like it's right under Harvard.
- 19:31SPEAKER_05: And Harvard, their thing is like they have more than so many names of like cool things that aren't really not the real Harvard, not the Woodstock you're thinking of.
- 19:40SPEAKER_02: Not really that cool either, if we're being honest.
- 19:42SPEAKER_02: And uh Harvard, they have more cows than people.
- 19:45SPEAKER_02: So Woodstock was like a neighboring town, and they would always like try to brag and kind of like dunk on Harvard by being like, Yep, we got more people than cows, and it's like, guys, this can't be a thing that we brag about consistent basically.
- 19:59SPEAKER_07: But in the big scheme of thing, we both suck.
- 20:01SPEAKER_07: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 20:02SPEAKER_07: Right, right.
- 20:04SPEAKER_02: RIP.
- 20:05SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 20:05SPEAKER_07: How did um so when did you start doing stand-up, man?
- 20:08SPEAKER_02: I was like 19.
- 20:09SPEAKER_02: I uh I started like I dropped out of college, honestly, and just like I was like, all right, this is the only thing I were going to school.
- 20:15SPEAKER_02: I went to uh I went to UIC for one semester.
- 20:18SPEAKER_02: Okay, yes, and I had done stand-up at like middle school talent shows and that kind of thing.
- 20:22SPEAKER_02: So I'd always like dabbled.
- 20:24SPEAKER_05: Oh, dude, what were you doing?
- 20:25SPEAKER_05: What was a bit at a middle school?
- 20:27SPEAKER_05: You're in middle school and you're getting up there.
- 20:29SPEAKER_02: Dad, I'm gonna be honest, dude.
- 20:30SPEAKER_02: I was I was ripping some jokes, man.
- 20:32SPEAKER_02: I was really yeah, I was I was stealing some stuff.
- 20:34SPEAKER_02: I mean, I you know, I think it's okay because I was in third grade, but I was like, So who do you who are you taking from?
- 20:40SPEAKER_05: Dice Clay?
- 20:41SPEAKER_04: No, I was for real crazy me doing dice in third grade with a cigarette.
- 20:48SPEAKER_02: Little Miss Muffet.
- 20:50SPEAKER_02: Yeah, too! Towel on the stool for me to do four minutes of the talent show.
- 20:53SPEAKER_02: Yeah, no, I was like, I was taking like joke books, yeah.
- 20:57SPEAKER_02: Like middle school, like SpongeBob themed joke books, and just like reading them on stage.
- 21:03SPEAKER_02: Were you killing?
- 21:04SPEAKER_02: Parents were losing their minds and stuff, so that was cool.
- 21:06SPEAKER_04: Yeah, that's funny.
- 21:09SPEAKER_05: What how'd you get that in your head?
- 21:10SPEAKER_05: Were you watching stand up at that age?
- 21:12SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I was a big uh I was a big Melanie fan at that age, and it was just like that was when Melaney was still like blowing up, yeah, and it was like he was still not that he doesn't do it now, but he was still from here, so he was talking about Chicago so much that I felt like it was very influential to be like I could be like that guy, and then in third grade, fourth grade.
- 21:31SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that's wild, man.
- 21:33SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 21:34SPEAKER_02: I was doing none of the movements and stuff, I was just sitting there reading a joke book.
- 21:38SPEAKER_02: You were more monologist at that point.
- 21:40SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 21:41SPEAKER_02: Well, he had cocaine and stuff.
- 21:42SPEAKER_02: I didn't have that in third grade.
- 21:43SPEAKER_02: No, that always comes late in the career.
- 21:45SPEAKER_02: I didn't have the narcotics yet.
- 21:46SPEAKER_05: No, it was so have you achieved your dreams now?
- 21:49SPEAKER_05: Are you have you met have you found a pile of cocaine around in these older years?
- 21:56SPEAKER_05: When your skin looks better, you feel more confident in the skin.
- 22:00SPEAKER_05: Everywhere you go, at work, out with friends, on a date, or like me at a big show.

- 22:33SPEAKER_05: Put your best face forward.
- 22:36SPEAKER_05: Alright, so you get on stage in third or fourth grade.
- 22:39SPEAKER_05: What was the first time like as an adult?
- 22:40SPEAKER_02: And when you're like first time as an adult was uh laugh out loud in Schaumburg.
- 22:45SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 22:45SPEAKER_05: Either of you guys been to that one?
- 22:46SPEAKER_05: I've seen that.
- 22:47SPEAKER_05: It's uh the improv is in Schomburg.
- 22:50SPEAKER_05: And I remember seeing that in Cross.
- 22:51SPEAKER_05: Yeah, yeah.
- 22:51SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 22:52SPEAKER_05: Okay.
- 22:52SPEAKER_05: So I didn't know they were doing stand-up there.
- 22:53SPEAKER_05: I thought it was like an improv place or Pat, I'll be honest with you.
- 22:56SPEAKER_02: The Schomburg did not know they were doing stand-up there either.
- 22:58SPEAKER_02: Because they didn't know they're closed now.
- 23:01SPEAKER_02: And uh R.I.P.
- 23:03SPEAKER_02: Hang on.
- 23:04SPEAKER_02: They also closed.
- 23:05SPEAKER_02: And uh I always say the first three places I ever did stand up aren't open anymore.
- 23:08SPEAKER_02: Because it was uh Laugh Out Loud, the Ashbury Coffee House, and then the Comedy Shrine in Aurora.
- 23:14SPEAKER_02: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 23:15SPEAKER_02: They're all closed.
- 23:16SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 23:17SPEAKER_02: I just bought this is gonna be a little tangent, but uh you did Comedy Shrine, I assume, at some point, right?
- 23:22SPEAKER_02: Yes, I did.
- 23:22SPEAKER_05: I did a couple things.
- 23:23SPEAKER_02: Um you know the letters they used to have outside?
- 23:25SPEAKER_02: I don't remember that the big red letters outside the mall.
- 23:29SPEAKER_05: It was part of their sign that said the comedy shrine?
- 23:33SPEAKER_02: I just bought the D.
- 23:34SPEAKER_02: You bought the D?
- 23:34SPEAKER_02: I have the I have the D in my apartment right now.
- 23:36SPEAKER_02: I'm very excited about it.
- 23:37SPEAKER_02: Really?
- 23:38SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 23:38SPEAKER_05: Okay.
- 23:39SPEAKER_02: That was my big purchase this year.
- 23:40SPEAKER_02: I I invested in the comedy.
- 23:41SPEAKER_02: So why the letter D?
- 23:42SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
- 23:43SPEAKER_02: I was just uh I was at the new computer.
- 23:45SPEAKER_05: Did you think about getting the A or the J?
- 23:47unknown: Nope.
- 23:48SPEAKER_02: I honestly I didn't even get to pick the letter.
- 23:51SPEAKER_02: It was just I was at the the spot that now owns the space, and they were like, We have the old Comedy Fron letter.
- 23:58SPEAKER_02: You want a D.
- 23:59SPEAKER_02: I said, Yeah.
- 24:00SPEAKER_02: So I'll take one.
- 24:01SPEAKER_02: Got them D's.
- 24:04SPEAKER_02: But I also um when I was like 19 and starting stand-up, I lived 10 minutes away from the improv in Shawbrook.
- 24:10SPEAKER_02: So it was like, I feel like I got um a little bit of a head start because Luke knew me at least a little bit, and he knew Luke is the the main manager at the improv at least now.
- 24:22SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 24:23SPEAKER_02: And um it was at the point where Luke?
- 24:26SPEAKER_02: Yeah, he knew I was 10 minutes away, so whenever they had a host drop like last last minute, he would just call me and I'd race over from my mom's place and just go try to do a set.
- 24:36SPEAKER_02: Yeah, so that was nice.
- 24:37SPEAKER_02: I feel like everybody kind of um hates on starting in the suburbs, but I kind of I feel like it helped.
- 24:42SPEAKER_07: Hey man, you start where you start.
- 24:44SPEAKER_07: You can't, yeah.
- 24:46SPEAKER_07: Yeah, that's the thing, man.
- 24:47SPEAKER_07: Yeah, definitely.
- 24:48SPEAKER_05: You start close to home and then you move in the city, and now you're you know, you got a lot going on, man.
- 24:53SPEAKER_05: I know you post a ton on socials, very funny stuff.
- 24:56SPEAKER_02: Appreciate that.
- 24:57SPEAKER_02: Um, yeah, I moved to the city like a year after that.
- 24:59SPEAKER_02: I did comedy in the burbs for like a year and then moved to the city with two other comics, paid six hundred dollars for a bedroom and just slummed it out.
- 25:09SPEAKER_02: I was at the the first apartment I had in Chicago, it was uh it was a$600 room.
- 25:14SPEAKER_02: We had no air conditioning.
- 25:15SPEAKER_02: I had a queen mattress on the floor and it touched three of the four walls.
- 25:20SPEAKER_02: Oh wow, like it was just wedged into the bedroom.
- 25:23SPEAKER_02: I had to like stand it up to open the door.
- 25:26SPEAKER_05: That's amazing.
- 25:27SPEAKER_05: It was kind of fun.
- 25:27SPEAKER_05: Yeah, starving artist story.
- 25:29SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it was nice.
- 25:30SPEAKER_05: You're just trying to hustle.
- 25:31SPEAKER_05: Now what?
- 25:31SPEAKER_05: Now, how many walls does your mattress touch?
- 25:33SPEAKER_02: Just one, actually.
- 25:34SPEAKER_02: See, dude?
- 25:35SPEAKER_02: Pretty big blowing up.
- 25:36SPEAKER_02: Yes, yeah.
- 25:37SPEAKER_02: I think we could measure classes in this country by that.
- 25:40SPEAKER_04: One wall and a D.
- 25:41SPEAKER_04: Is it still a queen size mattress?
- 25:43SPEAKER_04: It is queen size mattress, one wall.
- 25:45SPEAKER_04: Good for you, man.
- 25:46SPEAKER_07: Now, you said I didn't mean to cut you off, but you said you thought that it it was an advantage to start in the suburbs.
- 25:52SPEAKER_02: I think a little bit, because I got stage time earlier.
- 25:55SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 25:57SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 25:58SPEAKER_07: Now, how was it for you?
- 25:59SPEAKER_07: So to me, it's always like sometimes to sort of gauge where people are from based on not even so much, even so much sometimes what they talk about, but the way they approach something.
- 26:12SPEAKER_07: Like, do you think that being from the suburbs made you deal with topics differently than I you know, I don't know if it's Yeah, I mean I think um I think I could do middle of nowhere gigs a lot easier.
- 26:25SPEAKER_02: Like I feel like I look up to both of you guys because you guys are like comics that consistently work the road.
- 26:30SPEAKER_02: And I feel like a lot of the young comics in Chicago um don't do that as much because they've only ever lived in big cities.
- 26:37SPEAKER_02: So they don't know how to talk to like Janesville, Wisconsin.
- 26:40SPEAKER_02: You know?
- 26:41SPEAKER_05: Are you working the road a lot?
- 26:42SPEAKER_05: Are you traveling?
- 26:43SPEAKER_05: I try my best, yeah.
- 26:44SPEAKER_02: I um I opened for uh Matt McCusker, he's a good buddy of mine, and then Noelle Miller, if you guys know either of them.
- 26:49SPEAKER_02: And uh actually we did Tempe recently.
- 26:51SPEAKER_02: Oh, you did?
- 26:52SPEAKER_02: Yes, I was at that that improv club kind of rules.
- 26:54SPEAKER_02: It's a very uh it is hot as hell.
- 26:57SPEAKER_02: I mean, unbearable.
- 26:59SPEAKER_02: You went this time of year, I assume, right?
- 27:00SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah, it was just there.
- 27:01SPEAKER_02: I we did Tempe in June, and it was like It was pretty brutal.
- 27:05SPEAKER_02: It was unbearable.
- 27:06SPEAKER_02: They do the Waymo.
- 27:08SPEAKER_05: Did you get in one?
- 27:08SPEAKER_02: I did not.
- 27:09SPEAKER_02: You did not.
- 27:09SPEAKER_02: I wish I did.
- 27:10SPEAKER_02: No, I had one of the Wayans pick me up from the club.
- 27:13SPEAKER_02: They do the they do the thing in Arizona over the summer where they have like the the water sprinklers outside.
- 27:19SPEAKER_02: They just have sprinklers on you.
- 27:20SPEAKER_02: Like if you go to like a burger joint there, they just have sprinklers on.
- 27:24SPEAKER_02: Uh just doesn't even help much.
- 27:26SPEAKER_02: No, it just makes you wet.
- 27:27SPEAKER_05: It just evaporates as soon as it comes out.
- 27:29SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it just like now there's a mist in the air.
- 27:32SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it's kind of brutal.
- 27:33SPEAKER_02: I don't know why they do it.
- 27:35SPEAKER_05: Yeah, it's kind of funny just to think about moving there because there are some locals there, but then everyone else that like moves there, like that.
- 27:42SPEAKER_05: When did that become a trend?
- 27:44SPEAKER_05: Moving away from resources.

- 27:55SPEAKER_05: Yeah, I want a tattoo.
- 27:58SPEAKER_07: Right, right.
- 27:59SPEAKER_07: And third degree bones.
- 28:01SPEAKER_02: Are you tatted up, AJ?
- 28:03SPEAKER_02: You got any tats?
- 28:03SPEAKER_02: I have four tattoos.
- 28:04SPEAKER_02: Do you really?
- 28:05SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 28:06SPEAKER_02: Uh oh, these are embarrassing.
- 28:09SPEAKER_02: Okay, this is this is Woodstock from the Peanuts cartoons.
- 28:12SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 28:13SPEAKER_02: Woodstock?
- 28:14SPEAKER_02: Okay, yeah.
- 28:14SPEAKER_02: Because you're from there.
- 28:15SPEAKER_02: Actually, not because of that.
- 28:17SPEAKER_02: Just in, I just like the character.
- 28:18SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 28:18SPEAKER_02: Come on.
- 28:19SPEAKER_02: I'm I swear to God.
- 28:20SPEAKER_02: It's nothing to do with it.
- 28:20SPEAKER_02: It has nothing to do with it.
- 28:21SPEAKER_02: I promise.
- 28:22SPEAKER_02: It's completely unrelated.
- 28:23SPEAKER_07: This is one is uh Harvard, the cow.
- 28:26SPEAKER_07: Nothing to do with the town.
- 28:27SPEAKER_02: Nothing to do with the town.
- 28:28SPEAKER_02: No, no.
- 28:28SPEAKER_02: Nothing with the college.
- 28:29SPEAKER_02: No, I got a Harvard and a cow right next to it.
- 28:31SPEAKER_02: No.
- 28:32SPEAKER_02: That was the first one.
- 28:33SPEAKER_02: And then the second one, this is also a Woodstock from the Peanuts cartoons.
- 28:36SPEAKER_02: Oh, okay.
- 28:37SPEAKER_02: Two Woodstocks.
- 28:38SPEAKER_02: Uh just wait.
- 28:39SPEAKER_02: Wait a minute.
- 28:41SPEAKER_02: Hold on, hold on.
- 28:42SPEAKER_02: Here's a third one.
- 28:43SPEAKER_05: You can tell us where some of them are.
- 28:44SPEAKER_05: I got a third one.
- 28:45SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 28:46SPEAKER_02: Oh, there's not this is the I got a ribbon and a Woodstock, and then I have a couch on my bicep.
- 28:50SPEAKER_02: Okay, so a couch.
- 28:52SPEAKER_02: Like this.
- 28:53SPEAKER_05: Three Woodstocks and a couch?
- 28:55SPEAKER_05: Yes.
- 28:56SPEAKER_05: Is a couch because you like couches or no?
- 28:58SPEAKER_02: It's um it's the couch from have you guys ever seen the TV show The Good Place?
- 29:02unknown: Oh, yeah.
- 29:02SPEAKER_02: I don't know if you have.
- 29:03SPEAKER_02: Is that the Ted Dancing one?
- 29:05SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 29:05SPEAKER_05: Oh, okay.
- 29:06SPEAKER_05: I never really watched that, but I kind of remember.
- 29:08SPEAKER_02: It's like they wake up on a couch in heaven and it says like uh uh like everything is fine on the wall in front of you to like calm me down for the afterlife.
- 29:18SPEAKER_02: And it's just I have a couch with that on it.
- 29:20SPEAKER_07: Okay.
- 29:20SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 29:20SPEAKER_07: Three Woodstacks and a couch.
- 29:21SPEAKER_07: That sounds like depraved poker.
- 29:27SPEAKER_05: Dude, I forget what do you think Woodstock was about?
- 29:30SPEAKER_05: What was his personality?
- 29:31SPEAKER_05: I never was that in the peanuts.
- 29:33SPEAKER_02: He was like uh, he was like the the little guy that followed Snoopy around.
- 29:37SPEAKER_05: Yeah, I remember that part.
- 29:38SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and he was just like uh Did he have like a message?
- 29:40SPEAKER_02: Did he have like an attitude?
- 29:42SPEAKER_02: Oh no, there's no No What Drew you to him, Pat.
- 29:45SPEAKER_02: If you're gonna if you're gonna search for the meaning behind these tattoos, this is gonna be a long podcast.
- 29:49SPEAKER_02: Because there's not much to it, I promise.
- 29:52SPEAKER_02: For real, I got the first one because I was so nervous to get a tattoo.
- 29:56SPEAKER_02: And uh I was like, I was really scared about it.
- 29:58SPEAKER_02: I honestly, did you guys were you guys nervous for the first tattoo?
- 30:01SPEAKER_02: I don't have one.
- 30:02SPEAKER_02: I don't have to.
- 30:02SPEAKER_02: You don't have any?
- 30:03SPEAKER_02: No, no, no.
- 30:03SPEAKER_02: You guys have no tattoos?
- 30:04SPEAKER_02: I'm tattoo list, brother.
- 30:05SPEAKER_02: You guys gotta do a tattoo podcast.
- 30:07SPEAKER_02: Come on.
- 30:07SPEAKER_02: We should probably live on here.
- 30:09SPEAKER_02: You guys both can with it?
- 30:10SPEAKER_05: Get one on the like a live hand live on the podcast, yeah.
- 30:14SPEAKER_04: Get a T Chanley tattoo.
- 30:15SPEAKER_04: We're not that hungry.
- 30:17SPEAKER_04: Get it for the brand.
- 30:18SPEAKER_04: Come on.
- 30:19SPEAKER_04: That's that's the young people thirst.
- 30:21SPEAKER_04: Come on, man.
- 30:22SPEAKER_07: That's views.
- 30:23SPEAKER_07: You think you'd ever get another one?
- 30:25SPEAKER_02: Maybe.
- 30:25SPEAKER_07: I don't know.
- 30:26SPEAKER_07: Would it be another Woodstock?
- 30:27SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
- 30:28SPEAKER_02: It was originally gonna be like, because I got the second one.
- 30:30SPEAKER_02: I was like, that's so fun to get the same tattoo twice.
- 30:32SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and then I got the third one.
- 30:33SPEAKER_02: I was like, that's so funny to get the same tattoo three times.
- 30:36SPEAKER_02: And then I was like, I should probably stop at three.
- 30:38SPEAKER_02: Yeah, the original idea was like, what if I got 15 of them?
- 30:40SPEAKER_02: I just got like a sleeve, like a Woodstock face tattoo.
- 30:44SPEAKER_07: Yeah, yeah.
- 30:44SPEAKER_02: Face tattoo.
- 30:45SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 30:46SPEAKER_02: It's not like the inside of my lip and everything.
- 30:48SPEAKER_07: Right.
- 30:49SPEAKER_07: Flip up your eyelid.
- 30:50SPEAKER_07: Look at that.
- 30:52SPEAKER_07: That's cool.
- 30:52SPEAKER_05: Aren't you from Woodstock?
- 30:53SPEAKER_05: No, man, it has nothing to do with that.
- 30:57SPEAKER_07: Isn't that the Chicago skyline?
- 30:58SPEAKER_05: What about this one?
- 31:00SPEAKER_05: Nope.
- 31:00SPEAKER_05: That wasn't that's not nothing to do with where I'm from either.
- 31:02SPEAKER_05: Squiggly line.
- 31:03SPEAKER_07: What does that say Schomberger covered that?
- 31:05SPEAKER_07: No, that's got none.
- 31:07SPEAKER_02: No, that's uh funny to get tattoos of just different suburbs to wrap.
- 31:10SPEAKER_02: Did you go the same artist each time?
- 31:12SPEAKER_02: No.
- 31:13SPEAKER_02: Oh, okay.
- 31:13SPEAKER_02: These were all different artists.
- 31:15SPEAKER_05: No, it's actually made them look similar.
- 31:18SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 31:18SPEAKER_02: I mean, to be fair, it's uh I it was a there was a template and everything.
- 31:22SPEAKER_02: I gave them to I don't there's a lot of people that do like freehand tattoos, and that scares the hell out of me.
- 31:27SPEAKER_02: I'm just doing the the stencil.
- 31:29SPEAKER_05: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 31:30SPEAKER_05: All right, man.
- 31:30SPEAKER_05: I didn't know that.
- 31:31SPEAKER_05: I just I never even asked somebody if they have tattoos.
- 31:34SPEAKER_05: I don't know why uh that conversation got interesting, man.
- 31:37SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 31:38SPEAKER_02: Uh deep and shallow at the same time.
- 31:40SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 31:40SPEAKER_02: Very much so.
- 31:41SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 31:42SPEAKER_07: Teege Hanley has changed my life.
- 31:46SPEAKER_01: Skin has been amazing.

- 32:24SPEAKER_07: I used to.
- 32:25SPEAKER_07: That's where we met.
- 32:26SPEAKER_05: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 32:27SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 32:28SPEAKER_05: Uptown is a uh interesting neighborhood.
- 32:31SPEAKER_05: It's easy to access, get in and out of.
- 32:33SPEAKER_05: There's a lot of theaters there.
- 32:34SPEAKER_05: You got the Aragon ballroom, right?
- 32:37SPEAKER_05: Are these places still open?
- 32:38SPEAKER_05: Aragon, Riviera, the ridge.
- 32:40SPEAKER_05: Riviera is still open.
- 32:41SPEAKER_05: And the club the the theater, and this is the theater.
- 32:43SPEAKER_05: My mom uh grew up right down Lawrence Avenue, like Lawrence and Bell.
- 32:48SPEAKER_05: She's like from the Lincoln Square area, like St.
- 32:51SPEAKER_05: Matthias Parish.
- 32:52SPEAKER_05: Um, the uptown theater when she was growing up was open.
- 32:56SPEAKER_05: The uptown okay, the same people that made the Chicago theater, like it's an old school, like a beautiful palace theater.
- 33:02SPEAKER_05: And they're always talking about redoing it and reopening it.
- 33:05SPEAKER_05: They've started, stopped.
- 33:07SPEAKER_05: Right.
- 33:07SPEAKER_05: Love to see them get that going.
- 33:09SPEAKER_05: Have you uh are you near that theater?
- 33:11SPEAKER_05: Uh I've never seen it, if I'm being honest.
- 33:13SPEAKER_05: No?
- 33:13SPEAKER_05: No.
- 33:14SPEAKER_07: It's right across from the riv.
- 33:15SPEAKER_05: It's yeah, right up and around, I think.
- 33:18SPEAKER_05: Okay, okay.
- 33:19SPEAKER_05: Is it too far from the green mill?
- 33:21SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 33:22SPEAKER_05: Yeah, yeah.
- 33:22SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 33:23SPEAKER_07: You ever you ever go to the green mill and do the and see their uh they got a show on Saturdays?
- 33:28SPEAKER_07: Yes, the paper machete.
- 33:30SPEAKER_07: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 33:31SPEAKER_02: What a fun, what a fun thing we have.
- 33:33SPEAKER_02: I wish it almost got um, it almost feels similar to CYSK where I'm like uh this is such like a cool Chicago lore thing.
- 33:40SPEAKER_02: I wish it got revamped a little bit.
- 33:42SPEAKER_02: Like I wish the new class kind of like embraced it more.
- 33:45SPEAKER_02: I think that'd be cool.
- 33:46SPEAKER_05: Oh uh yeah, man.
- 33:47SPEAKER_05: It's a oh paper machete, great show.
- 33:49SPEAKER_05: Yeah in the middle of the day, yeah, in an iconic place.
- 33:53SPEAKER_05: Yes, yeah, and just different forms of art too.
- 33:56SPEAKER_05: It's not just the variety of it is very cool, right?
- 33:59SPEAKER_07: It reminds me Pat might hate to hear me say this, but it reminds me of New York in a sense.
- 34:06SPEAKER_07: It's that eclectic, you know what I mean?
- 34:08SPEAKER_07: Yeah, yeah.
- 34:09SPEAKER_07: Why would I get mad about that?
- 34:11SPEAKER_07: Do you hate New York?
- 34:12SPEAKER_07: No, okay.
- 34:13SPEAKER_07: Pat hates all things New York.
- 34:15SPEAKER_07: Okay, I don't know.
- 34:16SPEAKER_07: He hates the mere mention now.
- 34:18SPEAKER_05: No, no, but if I ever was gonna move somewhere out of, you know, when you hear comics moving out of here, New York or LA, I would I New York.
- 34:26SPEAKER_05: Yeah, yeah.
- 34:26SPEAKER_05: I kind of wish I had at some point, to be honest.
- 34:28SPEAKER_05: But I started, you know, I was married already, and I that was not just not an option for me.
- 34:33SPEAKER_05: Have you thought about this?
- 34:34SPEAKER_02: Um, yeah, I keep getting told to do it, if I'm being honest.
- 34:37SPEAKER_02: And I keep we would like you to be honest on our podcast, AJ.
- 34:41SPEAKER_02: Okay, appreciate that.
- 34:41SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 34:42SPEAKER_02: Um I lied about the Woodstock tattoos, but they're all fake.
- 34:46SPEAKER_02: And uh it's a sharpie.
- 34:47SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 34:48SPEAKER_02: I drew it.
- 34:50SPEAKER_02: Like, we need something to talk about.
- 34:51SPEAKER_02: I gotta I gotta put them on.
- 34:52SPEAKER_02: And uh, no, I I keep being told with New York.
- 34:55SPEAKER_02: Um, I feel like with the internet I have less of a desire.
- 35:01SPEAKER_02: Or I'm like, I feel like you can kind of not as necessary.
- 35:03SPEAKER_02: I've seen people do it for like Ken Flores, R.I.P.
- 35:06SPEAKER_02: was a good friend, and like I've seen people do it from here before that I'm like, I feel like you can just kind of build your own thing.
- 35:12SPEAKER_02: Chris Higgins is one of ours that I'm like, he built his.
- 35:15SPEAKER_02: I mean, you guys obviously all have your own fan bases and like uh I can't sell tickets.
- 35:19SPEAKER_07: I mean, well, sell tickets.
- 35:21SPEAKER_07: You guys can sell tickets.
- 35:22SPEAKER_07: Uh well, we'll talk about that later.
- 35:24SPEAKER_07: Don't try to be humble on this kind of thing.
- 35:25SPEAKER_07: I'm not trying to be humble.
- 35:27SPEAKER_07: Nah, this guy can sell tickets.
- 35:29SPEAKER_07: I'm yeah, I'm I'm way behind, man, on the whole social media thing.
- 35:33SPEAKER_07: So I'm still just trying to build all that.
- 35:35SPEAKER_07: Social social media, how crucial has that been for you as because you obviously you came up in the age of social media.
- 35:43SPEAKER_02: I think we're the first class of comics that it's like we grew up with it.
- 35:46SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 35:46SPEAKER_02: So we're used to like it's just kind of a part of life.
- 35:49SPEAKER_05: So no hesitation to share material, post stuff.
- 35:53SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 35:53SPEAKER_05: Do you wait a little bit, like, hey, I want to hold on to this joke, I'm not gonna put it up right away, or I or this is killing, and I'm posting it.
- 36:01SPEAKER_02: I do now because I'm like, there's a chance someone sees me in person and like live.
- 36:06SPEAKER_02: But at the very beginning, like I don't understand comics um that have like no following that aren't headlining, that are like scared to post their jokes, because it's like you're not even selling tickets on your own.
- 36:18SPEAKER_02: What is the what is the fear that someone's gonna see you at laugh actors?
- 36:23SPEAKER_02: No, you're but you're headlining.
- 36:25SPEAKER_02: I mean, that's different.
- 36:26SPEAKER_07: I mean, but what you're describing basically that's I feel like that's me.
- 36:31SPEAKER_07: I mean, I I can I'm not really like headlining, I'm not like a draw like all over the country.
- 36:36SPEAKER_02: Can I ask, are you scared to put your jokes out there?
- 36:38SPEAKER_07: I am.
- 36:39SPEAKER_02: I mean You're scared to burn them?
- 36:41SPEAKER_07: Yes.
- 36:41SPEAKER_07: Okay, but I know when it when I started seeing more and more comics doing crowd work, it's like, well, then I got oh, they're doing crowd work to to maintain a presence, yeah, but you're not wanting to burn jokes.
- 36:53SPEAKER_07: I know that the the downside of that can be if somebody gets introduced to you as a crowd work guy, then they go to your show and then then they they're prepared.
- 37:03SPEAKER_02: That's all they expect.
- 37:04SPEAKER_07: Yeah, and you're working on your material and they're working on theirs.
- 37:07SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 37:08SPEAKER_04: You're not overthinking any of this, Dwayne.
- 37:10SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 37:11SPEAKER_07: No, I need a trick.
- 37:12SPEAKER_05: Well, I was just gonna say, uh You take the showtime, take your showtime special, start there, chop that.
- 37:21SPEAKER_02: Well, because I was gonna say, like, with all due respect, not you know, uh not glazing or trying to hype you up or anything.
- 37:26SPEAKER_02: Uh, Dwayne, you have very good jokes.
- 37:27SPEAKER_02: I think you should post them.
- 37:29SPEAKER_02: There's a lot of bad jokes on the internet.
- 37:30SPEAKER_07: You have very good ones, but then I gotta write more of them.
- 37:33SPEAKER_07: Yeah, yeah, that's really hard for you.
- 37:35SPEAKER_07: Yeah, it's this endless hamster wheel.
- 37:38SPEAKER_02: That's what it does.
- 37:39SPEAKER_02: I do feel like we've become content creators where it just feels like, all right, just gotta put out everything.
- 37:43SPEAKER_02: It's a wood chipper, man.
- 37:44SPEAKER_02: It's nonstop.
- 37:46SPEAKER_05: Just and then you're done.
- 37:48SPEAKER_05: Next.
- 37:49SPEAKER_05: And then what are people even retaining?
- 37:51SPEAKER_05: Because any hesitation you have too about like, oh, people have seen this, people, and I have that too.
- 37:56SPEAKER_07: Dude, they people watching stuff, they don't even remember, I think, some of the stuff.
- 38:00SPEAKER_07: They don't know they just remember, oh, I like that person.
- 38:03SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 38:03SPEAKER_07: And I know too, sometimes if it's sometimes if it's a bit, sometimes people will want to hear it again.
- 38:09SPEAKER_07: Like, yeah, do that.
- 38:10SPEAKER_07: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 38:11SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 38:11SPEAKER_07: Well, think about it.
- 38:12SPEAKER_02: It's like uh if you if you saw a bit of Pat's and you're like, that's so funny.
- 38:17SPEAKER_02: Um, I'm gonna take my girlfriend to go see that show, and then you get there, you would kind of want him to do the bit that brought you on to show your girlfriend and be like, see, look how funny that is.
- 38:25SPEAKER_05: I mean, that's one of my favorite memories of working with Dwayne.
- 38:27SPEAKER_05: We're at Zany's.
- 38:28SPEAKER_05: This is way back.
- 38:29SPEAKER_05: This is like like maybe the first week I met you.
- 38:31SPEAKER_05: I have things we did a string of shows.
- 38:33SPEAKER_05: We're going Tuesday, now we're at Sunday, yeah.
- 38:36SPEAKER_05: And Dwayne is like looking to close, and you were kind of off, you know, just off the rails having fun with the crowd, and you're looking for something to close on.
- 38:44SPEAKER_05: And I'm like behind the curtain, I'm like, I'm blessed.
- 38:48SPEAKER_05: Leading him to his bit.
- 38:50SPEAKER_05: Yeah, uh I'm blessed.
- 38:51SPEAKER_05: He's got this bit.
- 38:52SPEAKER_05: And Dwayne says, Hey, Pat, come on up here.
- 38:56SPEAKER_05: You do the bit.
- 38:58SPEAKER_02: So funny.
- 38:59SPEAKER_05: And has the crowd.
- 39:00SPEAKER_05: He's like, Hey, this is Pat.
- 39:01SPEAKER_05: We met this week.
- 39:02SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 39:03SPEAKER_05: Like this guy, he's gonna do one of my bits.
- 39:06SPEAKER_05: Yeah, and this will close out the show.
- 39:09SPEAKER_05: And I went up and from memory watching it all week, I did the uh, dude, that's still one of the moments of of my like stand-up life that I remember more than anything.
- 39:19SPEAKER_05: Yeah, and uh it was doing his bit, and he's on a stool behind me.
- 39:22SPEAKER_07: Yeah, and doing better with it now, like, wait, okay, Pat, that's a bad man.
- 39:26SPEAKER_07: Calm down.
- 39:26SPEAKER_05: Ladies and gentlemen, okay, and okay, stop that.
- 39:29SPEAKER_05: Would you give a taste of that on here?
- 39:31SPEAKER_05: The I'm blessed, or no?
- 39:33SPEAKER_05: You don't even want to put that out.
- 39:35SPEAKER_05: I mean, you don't it's like, how do you even do it on here?
- 39:37SPEAKER_05: You don't even want to do it on a teasing, go online.
- 39:41SPEAKER_05: Check out Dwayne's I'm blessed bit.
- 39:43SPEAKER_05: Yes, you will be blessed.
- 39:45SPEAKER_05: You know, I was watching this week, and and this is a comic that I I really like, and I wouldn't even like consider him a stand-up stand-up, but did you watch the Oscars?
- 39:53SPEAKER_05: Or I didn't even see actually the Oscars, I did not say, but I watched Conan's intro, I watched his uh you know, some of his monologue, and then I saw a tweet that was just like, do we even stop and appreciate Conan O'Brien enough for like what his contributions have been?
- 40:09SPEAKER_05: And I gotta say, like when he came out out of the gate, I was not the biggest Conan fan.
- 40:14SPEAKER_05: No, me either.
- 40:16SPEAKER_05: Um but I have grown to really love this dude.
- 40:20SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 40:20SPEAKER_05: I really love his show, Conan Must Go.
- 40:23SPEAKER_05: Have you seen that on HBO?
- 40:25SPEAKER_05: It's on it's his travel show.
- 40:26SPEAKER_05: Oh no, I haven't seen that.
- 40:27SPEAKER_05: It's really good.
- 40:28SPEAKER_02: Oh, dude.
- 40:31SPEAKER_05: He goes to Ireland, he goes to Thailand, he goes to uh Norway, like and he immerses himself there, and he's there for you know, cut it all together.
- 40:42SPEAKER_02: Dude, it is and it's cool because I feel like every travel show uh is like uh a highlight reel of the trip.
- 40:48SPEAKER_02: And I feel like his shows some of the negatives, which is kind of nice.
- 40:51SPEAKER_02: Oh, yeah, yeah.
- 40:52SPEAKER_02: It's like a very honest experience.
- 40:54SPEAKER_02: It's very cool.
- 40:55SPEAKER_07: Yeah, I mean, I certainly I certainly respect the cat and appreciate him.
- 41:00SPEAKER_07: Um he is like you said, I mean, he do he wasn't really a stand-up, but he was a comedy writer.
- 41:08SPEAKER_07: So when he when he first started doing his television show, you know, like a few of those cats, they didn't, they were they would do a monologue, but they weren't really stand-up, so they sort of didn't have like the stand-up chops.
- 41:20SPEAKER_07: So if you could tell, but they got better at it.
- 41:22SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 41:22SPEAKER_07: And then the things that he did for for the art form, because I mean he was a great writer.
- 41:27SPEAKER_05: He had a bunch of comedy.
- 41:28SPEAKER_07: Did you ever do Conan?
- 41:29SPEAKER_07: I I did it a couple of times.
- 41:31SPEAKER_07: You did?
- 41:32SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 41:32SPEAKER_07: And and this is in the first like when he first came out?
- 41:36SPEAKER_07: I did it in ninety I did his show in '98, and then I did it in 2000.
- 41:41SPEAKER_07: Okay.
- 41:42SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 41:42SPEAKER_07: Um the first time was because I had done the first Chicago comedy festival.
- 41:47SPEAKER_07: The one with uh Dan Carlson and Oh, yeah, yeah.
- 41:50SPEAKER_05: Yeah, and um JP Buck was here or something.
- 41:53SPEAKER_07: Yes, and Kevin Rogers, those two that started the festival.
- 41:56SPEAKER_07: And yeah, and JP Buck.
- 41:57SPEAKER_07: No, I'm sorry.
- 41:58SPEAKER_07: Yeah, JP Buck, but there was a woman named Paula and this other cat that booked Conan.
- 42:03SPEAKER_07: And I didn't even know.
- 42:04SPEAKER_07: I just, you know, just doing shows, and then they called me like a couple weeks like, hey man, you want to do the show?
- 42:08SPEAKER_07: Let me think about it.
- 42:10SPEAKER_05: I'll get back to you.
- 42:12SPEAKER_05: And then what was the experience like?
- 42:14SPEAKER_05: Because every show host of these late night shows is different.
- 42:17SPEAKER_05: Like I did uh Letterman a couple times, never met David Letterman, other than like shaking his hand at the very oh he didn't even say hi to you backstage or anything.
- 42:25SPEAKER_05: No, it's not like then you hear buddies like I got friends doing Fallon and stuff, and he's coming in the room before you go on, and he's meeting everybody, yeah, you know, taking pictures, and it's a different experience.
- 42:36SPEAKER_05: Did you meet Conan?
- 42:37SPEAKER_07: No, I didn't meet him until I same thing.
- 42:40SPEAKER_07: I went up, did the set, and then he came over to me, and you know that's when you always find out how tall a comic was.
- 42:47SPEAKER_07: When Conan would come over.
- 42:48SPEAKER_07: Yeah, yeah.
- 42:49SPEAKER_07: Because he's a tall dude, right?
- 42:50SPEAKER_07: Right, right, right.
- 42:51SPEAKER_07: And then right, and then you walked over and thank you.
- 42:55SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 42:56SPEAKER_07: Um, but no, but and as far as his uh contributions, because you know, coming out of Harvard and writing on Saturday Night Live.
- 43:04SPEAKER_07: Yeah, you grew up right by this guy, didn't you?
- 43:06SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 43:06SPEAKER_07: My neighbor coming up.
- 43:07SPEAKER_07: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 43:08SPEAKER_07: Yeah, yeah.
- 43:09SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 43:10SPEAKER_07: It was great, man.
- 43:11SPEAKER_07: I mean, you know, and now like you said, hosting the Oscars.
- 43:14SPEAKER_07: He did a did you see the I didn't see all of the Oscars, but I saw that some of his opening monologue when he just I didn't know it was that strong.
- 43:23SPEAKER_07: I mean, as far as what he said.
- 43:25SPEAKER_07: Uh the whole thing about uh Jeffrey Epstein.
- 43:29SPEAKER_02: Oh, I didn't hear it.
- 43:29SPEAKER_07: I didn't I didn't hear this part.
- 43:31SPEAKER_07: Oh pull it up, somebody's somebody pull that up.
- 43:34SPEAKER_07: I don't you know, I don't know if we're gonna air.
- 43:36SPEAKER_07: Yeah, yeah, we're watching.
- 43:37SPEAKER_07: Cool.
- 43:38SPEAKER_00: First time since 2012 that there are no British actors nominated for best actor or best actress.
- 43:45SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 43:46SPEAKER_00: British spokesperson said, Yeah, well, at least we arrest our pedophiles.
- 43:51SPEAKER_05: So a lot of the guys already trust T Shantley.
- 43:57SPEAKER_05: They've shipped over three million boxes of And have more than 24,000 reviews, averaging 4.7 stars.
- 44:04SPEAKER_05: In fact, 91% of customers say they'd recommend it to a friend.
- 44:09SPEAKER_05: People only talk like that when a product works.
- 44:12SPEAKER_05: If you're ready to upgrade your routine, check out Tiege Hanley and face the day with confidence.
- 44:18SPEAKER_05: Head to Tiege.com slash Pat for 40% off and a free gift.
- 44:23SPEAKER_05: That's Tiege.com slash Pat.
- 44:27SPEAKER_05: Do you talk do you go into that stuff when you're acting?
- 44:30SPEAKER_05: You go political, you get into current events.
- 44:32SPEAKER_05: You talking?
- 44:32SPEAKER_05: What are you talking about?
- 44:33SPEAKER_02: I try not to too much.
- 44:36SPEAKER_02: I feel like it's hard not to.
- 44:38SPEAKER_02: But I I alright, I'll talk about politics of where I grew up.
- 44:41SPEAKER_02: I'll do that a lot.
- 44:42SPEAKER_02: Because I grew up in like a very red suburb.
- 44:45SPEAKER_02: And um talking about how that was kind of a bubble.
- 44:47SPEAKER_02: I'll talk about that because I'm like, alright, I feel like I do have some expertise in this because I was around it.
- 44:53SPEAKER_02: Um but I'm not out there just making like blanket political statements.
- 44:57SPEAKER_02: Maybe I get to that point someday if I'm like an older, wiser comic.
- 45:00SPEAKER_02: But I do feel like people look at a 24-year-old and they're like, we don't want to hear.
- 45:04SPEAKER_05: It is kind of funny the whole like we don't talk about that.
- 45:07SPEAKER_05: Because like anything you ask, say, hey, why don't like we were talking last week about them building stuff on the lakefront, the Star Wars with bears, and you know, oh it's you know, if it's politics, you can't get it done.
- 45:18SPEAKER_05: Friends of the park, blah blah blah.
- 45:20SPEAKER_05: Yeah, yeah.
- 45:20SPEAKER_05: You ask somebody, oh, they lost their job, what happened?
- 45:22SPEAKER_05: It was it was politics.
- 45:24SPEAKER_05: Politics.
- 45:24SPEAKER_05: Yeah, and then then then you try and talk politics, like we don't we don't talk politics.
- 45:28SPEAKER_05: No, no.
- 45:29SPEAKER_05: It affects everything.
- 45:31SPEAKER_07: And it's the one thing that you're like, we kind of can't.
- 45:33SPEAKER_07: Yeah, we don't talk politics.
- 45:34SPEAKER_07: We like to just talk near politics.
- 45:37SPEAKER_07: You know what I mean?
- 45:37SPEAKER_07: We like to allude to politics.
- 45:39SPEAKER_05: We can't justify anything that we're doing, so we don't talk about it.
- 45:43SPEAKER_05: Right, right, right.
- 45:44SPEAKER_05: Well, that's cool, man.
- 45:45SPEAKER_05: I love that you are uh you got so much going on and you are uh, you know.
- 45:49SPEAKER_05: Appreciate that.
- 45:50SPEAKER_05: Especially here in Chicago, a lot of buzz.
- 45:52SPEAKER_05: And um are you are you um when you're opening on the road, are is there certain guys you're opening for consistently, or are you starting to do your own stuff now?
- 46:02SPEAKER_02: Um I really feel like I'm still in the the feature stage of just opening for guys consistently, which I'm very uh happy to do.
- 46:08SPEAKER_02: And like I do feel like I've had a good um uh portfolio of like everyone I've opened for issues.
- 46:15SPEAKER_02: Dude, you have a portfolio sorry, that was way too much.
- 46:18SPEAKER_02: You got it all.
- 46:20SPEAKER_02: Um I feel like I have a good like uh the people that I've opened for have all been very nice.
- 46:24SPEAKER_02: Like I'm very uh happy to work with them.
- 46:26SPEAKER_02: Um do you know John Christ at all?
- 46:28SPEAKER_02: Yes, he's brought your name up a bunch.
- 46:29SPEAKER_02: I used to open for John a lot.
- 46:30SPEAKER_02: Oh, you did?
- 46:31SPEAKER_02: I actually the first like big gig I ever did was open it for John at the Vic.
- 46:36SPEAKER_02: And uh he had brought your name up.
- 46:37SPEAKER_02: He was like, Do you know Pat McGain?
- 46:38SPEAKER_02: And I was like, Yeah, he's like a big Chicago guy.
- 46:40SPEAKER_02: Like, and uh he like sang your praises a whole bunch, which is really cool.
- 46:43SPEAKER_05: Yeah, I met John at Zany's in Rosemont when he was kind of coming up, and he really blew up.
- 46:48SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and he does a lot of uh he's doing a lot of theaters and um he's another one that you talk about like the wood chipper of just putting out content.
- 46:55SPEAKER_02: It's like it's a new hour every year, and it's like he's just speeding through them.
- 47:01SPEAKER_05: And it's great on socials with sketches and just putting stuff out, and yeah, it is it is consistent.
- 47:06SPEAKER_07: Some people just have a knack for that, man.
- 47:08SPEAKER_07: I think so.
- 47:09SPEAKER_07: AJ, when you came up, when you first started, were you always like documenting what you were doing, like on online?
- 47:17SPEAKER_02: No, I feel like the first three years I didn't post anything, which I'm honestly really thankful for.
- 47:21SPEAKER_02: Uh-huh.
- 47:22SPEAKER_02: There's uh there's a bunch of comics that are like six months in that I see post clips, and there's no judgment or anything, but I am like, damn, they're probably gonna regret this.
- 47:29SPEAKER_02: Because I know I would.
- 47:31SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 47:31SPEAKER_07: As the viewing audience.
- 47:32SPEAKER_05: Do you ever comment like that underneath the clip?
- 47:35SPEAKER_05: You are gonna regret posting.
- 47:37SPEAKER_02: You should take this down.
- 47:38SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 47:38SPEAKER_02: Nah, it's my favorite hobby, is just you know.
- 47:41SPEAKER_07: So so what's what's your procedure now though, as far as like social media and all that stuff?
- 47:46SPEAKER_02: Um, I feel like if I get a if I get a joke that I really like, that I'm like, hey, I think this is uh good, I keep it in the the basic 20 that I'm doing as an opener to rotate with.
- 47:58SPEAKER_02: And then once it gets to the point that I feel like I have something to fill in for that joke, then I can post it.
- 48:04SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 48:05SPEAKER_02: But I usually don't post things unless I'm like, oh, I have a new 10 that I can fill in there.
- 48:11SPEAKER_02: If that makes sense.
- 48:12SPEAKER_02: So do you have a schedule or I mean, you know, suppose No, I really I think everyone is on this thing of like, you gotta post three times a week, you gotta post four times a week.
- 48:20SPEAKER_02: And I'm like, I don't know.
- 48:22SPEAKER_02: I kind of just post something once I feel like it's worth putting out there.
- 48:25SPEAKER_02: I um not this is gonna sound really corny.
- 48:28SPEAKER_02: This is gonna be if you put this with some some piano under it, it'll be nice.
- 48:32SPEAKER_02: Uh I do think my organ.
- 48:34SPEAKER_05: We can have Nancy Faust.
- 48:35SPEAKER_05: That'll be nice.
- 48:36SPEAKER_02: That'll be nice.
- 48:40SPEAKER_05: Oh dun dun dun dun dun.
- 48:43SPEAKER_05: I'll just do that while you tell the story.
- 48:45SPEAKER_02: Please, please do it.
- 48:46SPEAKER_02: Uh my rule has always been like, if I post something and in my head I go, hey, even if this gets zero views, I'll still keep it up.
- 48:53SPEAKER_02: Like, I'll still be happy that I put it out there, then it's worth posting.
- 48:57SPEAKER_02: If not, then it's not.
- 48:58SPEAKER_02: If I post something and I'm like, this better get a certain amount of views, then I'm like, yeah, it's probably not worth putting out there.
- 49:04SPEAKER_07: So you do it just for the intent to share it, whether I think ideally, yeah.
- 49:08SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 49:09SPEAKER_07: And that so will you then do that bit again in a club, or is that bit now you put it on the shelf, or what do you do?
- 49:17SPEAKER_02: I'm pretty shameless about it.
- 49:18SPEAKER_02: I'll do it.
- 49:19SPEAKER_02: I'll do it.
- 49:19SPEAKER_02: Unless it's like a headlining show that I'm like trying to sell tickets to, which is you know, once a year or whatever.
- 49:25SPEAKER_02: But other than that, I'm like, I feel like people don't notice.
- 49:29SPEAKER_02: I've honestly never had someone be like, oh, I saw that joke online and be upset about it.
- 49:34SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 49:34SPEAKER_07: I mean, I know even this is before the whole internet phenomenon, man.
- 49:38SPEAKER_07: And one time I was uh uh working with Mit Mitch Hedberg at Zanies, and people were just yelling out his some of his bit for him to do.
- 49:47SPEAKER_07: Really?
- 49:47SPEAKER_07: Yeah, yeah, requests, yeah.
- 49:48SPEAKER_07: Requests, they would yell out requests, yeah.
- 49:50SPEAKER_07: So that's kind of fun.
- 49:51SPEAKER_05: And a request of one of his jokes is almost half of the joke, right?
- 49:56SPEAKER_05: His jokes are so tight.
- 49:57SPEAKER_05: Yeah, so I didn't know you were you worked with him.
- 50:00SPEAKER_05: That's fun.
- 50:00SPEAKER_05: Yeah, that's pretty cool.
- 50:01SPEAKER_07: Yeah, one time he gave me a uh E gone.
- 50:12SPEAKER_05: Why is this getting you today?
- 50:14SPEAKER_05: More than ever.
- 50:15SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 50:16SPEAKER_05: We gotta bring on another guest now.
- 50:21SPEAKER_07: Send in the relief, Mitch.
- 50:26SPEAKER_05: Is there a comic that is loved more by comics?
- 50:30SPEAKER_05: I mean, maybe now it has changed, but wouldn't I was probably where you're at.
- 50:34SPEAKER_05: Everyone was talking about Mitch.
- 50:35SPEAKER_05: Who are young comics talking about these days?
- 50:38SPEAKER_05: Ooh, in Chicago or just in general?
- 50:39SPEAKER_02: Well, I guess in general.
- 50:40SPEAKER_02: In general, but also specifically in Chicago, Jeff Asmus.
- 50:43SPEAKER_02: Oh, yeah, yeah, Jeff's funny.
- 50:47SPEAKER_02: Very funny, dude.
- 50:48SPEAKER_02: Yeah, he used to live here, he lives in New York now.
- 50:50SPEAKER_02: Um, the no you're thinking of uh you put your hand out like the little guy?
- 50:59SPEAKER_07: Yeah, yeah.
- 51:01SPEAKER_05: Who's the guy playing for the Bulls now you guys are talking about?
- 51:04SPEAKER_02: Who's the guy you're talking about?
- 51:06SPEAKER_02: The little Arian?
- 51:08SPEAKER_02: You're thinking Adam Gilbert, who is also admired by comics.
- 51:11SPEAKER_02: That's not what we thought about.
- 51:12SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 51:14SPEAKER_02: Goat.
- 51:14SPEAKER_02: Goat Adam Gilbert, yes.
- 51:15SPEAKER_02: Uh Asmus lived in Chicago, and I feel like was kind of the you know, like when the the scene is like um about to flip.
- 51:26SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 51:27SPEAKER_02: Yeah, where it's like there's about to be a mass exodus of people.
- 51:30SPEAKER_02: I feel like Jeff was the I always help him pack.
- 51:39SPEAKER_08: Yeah, go fly.
- 51:41SPEAKER_08: You're ready to leave the nest.
- 51:43SPEAKER_08: A lot of times you wouldn't have gone suitcase shopping for get this big trunk.
- 51:48SPEAKER_07: Please get out of here.
- 51:49SPEAKER_02: Pack all your stuff so you don't have to come back and get nothing.
- 51:52SPEAKER_02: Well, because I feel like Jeff was when I like when my class came into things of like a little bit before COVID and then after COVID, it was like Jeff was kind of the guy in the city that everyone was trying to chase, and he was just genuinely nice to all the young comics, yeah, and was like great on stage.
- 52:10SPEAKER_02: Um, I always admire like when a when a comic like that, like he was he wasn't anywhere near where you guys are at now, but he was like getting established and he was still just showing up at open mics, and I always thought that was really cool.
- 52:21SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 52:21SPEAKER_02: Of like he would do a sold-out weekend of Danny's and then just like pop in and be like, Hey, can I just do four at the Lincoln Lodge?
- 52:28SPEAKER_02: And we'd be like, Hell yeah.
- 52:30SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you can do four.
- 52:31SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 52:32SPEAKER_07: Don't do five.
- 52:33SPEAKER_05: No, we can do four though.
- 52:34SPEAKER_05: Dwayne was at the Lincoln Lodge this weekend, which uh I love that.
- 52:39SPEAKER_07: Uh Zanies, you know, sentimentally and you know, have a fondness for that's where I started.
- 52:45SPEAKER_07: But and I just haven't done Zany again since Bert Haas retired, the former manager.
- 52:52SPEAKER_07: Yeah, and they got a different format.
- 52:54SPEAKER_07: And I like Brian and nothing like that, but they just the whole thing is different.
- 52:57SPEAKER_07: We talked about this before because now it is the fact that it used to be you do Zen, you do a club and the club sells you.
- 53:03SPEAKER_07: Now you gotta sell the club.
- 53:04SPEAKER_02: Now you gotta sell tickets.
- 53:05SPEAKER_07: And I don't have, again, I'm working on all that stuff, so I haven't done Zenny's.
- 53:10SPEAKER_02: Which really quick, not to just be the local Gen Z on the podcast, but you said you've done Conan twice.
- 53:15SPEAKER_02: Dwayne, why are you not clipping that?
- 53:17unknown: Amen.
- 53:18SPEAKER_02: Just cut clips of that.
- 53:20SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 53:20SPEAKER_02: You've been on the late night show.
- 53:22SPEAKER_02: He's got a trove of material.
- 53:25SPEAKER_05: And he continues, you put out new stuff all the time.
- 53:27SPEAKER_05: You're continually writing.
- 53:29SPEAKER_05: That's why I slap.
- 53:30SPEAKER_02: I was gonna interrupt you with that.
- 53:31SPEAKER_02: Again, I didn't want to keep kissing ass for a second, but when you were like, you were like, Oh, that means I gotta like if I post stuff, I gotta keep writing new stuff.
- 53:38SPEAKER_02: And I was gonna be like, Duane, I've seen you like 10 times.
- 53:41SPEAKER_02: It's always been a different set.
- 53:42SPEAKER_02: I'm like, yeah, you are already doing that.
- 53:44SPEAKER_02: I am, yeah.
- 53:47SPEAKER_02: You don't have to like you just gotta put it out, just pay a kid to do it.
- 53:51SPEAKER_07: Don't even that's what I need.
- 53:53SPEAKER_07: I need like a astute four-year-old.
- 53:55SPEAKER_05: That's why we brought you in, AJ.
- 53:56SPEAKER_05: We want to tap into that portfolio here.
- 53:59SPEAKER_05: Good.
- 54:00SPEAKER_05: Where are your contacts?
- 54:02SPEAKER_05: Who are your roommates?
- 54:03SPEAKER_02: Yeah, not even video experience, just find me a young person to be like to exploit.
- 54:08SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 54:09SPEAKER_07: No, they're gonna have to have you know, I mean, we'll talk about that later.
- 54:13SPEAKER_05: But yeah, yeah, man.
- 54:16SPEAKER_05: The best part about T Chanley is the results.

- 54:49SPEAKER_05: It's the way we face the day.
- 54:52SPEAKER_07: But but no, I I love now I do the Lincoln Lodge a lot.
- 54:56SPEAKER_07: Yes.
- 54:56SPEAKER_07: And I'm I Well, Mark Gary, great guy.
- 54:58SPEAKER_05: We should mention Mark.
- 55:00SPEAKER_07: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 55:01SPEAKER_05: And you love you love the crowds there.
- 55:02SPEAKER_02: It's also so cool that it's like a nonprofit.
- 55:04SPEAKER_02: I feel like that doesn't get discussed enough that it's like similar to myself.
- 55:08SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 55:09SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 55:09SPEAKER_02: The two things in Chicago that don't get talked about enough the Lincoln Lodge and Dwayne Kennedy.
- 55:13SPEAKER_07: Yeah, yeah.
- 55:13SPEAKER_07: We're uh both profitable.
- 55:16SPEAKER_07: You know what I mean?
- 55:17SPEAKER_07: I was like, man, if you need somebody not to make a profit, I'm your guy.
- 55:21SPEAKER_05: You're a uh you're a 501c.
- 55:24SPEAKER_05: Whatever the your next comic is a 501 3C.
- 55:30SPEAKER_05: He's not making anything tonight.
- 55:32SPEAKER_05: Put your hands together.
- 55:33SPEAKER_05: You like not making money?
- 55:34SPEAKER_02: This next guy.
- 55:35SPEAKER_02: Hey man, your headliner tonight, he's a huge tax write-off.
- 55:37SPEAKER_07: Give it up.
- 55:40SPEAKER_07: Right, man.
- 55:40SPEAKER_07: Do you do you play the Lincoln Lodge now?
- 55:42SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 55:43SPEAKER_02: Uh Lodge, I again, Zanies I still consider a home club, but I really do think Lodge might have the best rooms in the city.
- 55:50SPEAKER_07: I think so, man.
- 55:51SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 55:52SPEAKER_07: And Zany's is great.
- 55:53SPEAKER_05: And I we're lucky to have as many places as we do because when we I was coming up, there weren't as many stages.
- 55:59SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 56:00SPEAKER_05: And now there's a lot, there's more options, great independent rooms.
- 56:03SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 56:03SPEAKER_05: And um now I would think that people you talk about your class.
- 56:08SPEAKER_05: Are people in your class now starting to jet?
- 56:10SPEAKER_05: I think a little bit.
- 56:11SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I think it's uh it's coming.
- 56:13SPEAKER_02: But I also really do feel like with the internet it there's not as much urgency to leave.
- 56:17SPEAKER_07: No, you can get famous from the kitchen.
- 56:19SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 56:19SPEAKER_07: Yeah, yeah.
- 56:19SPEAKER_07: Yeah, man.
- 56:20SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 56:20SPEAKER_07: So what are what are your some of your goals, AJ?
- 56:25SPEAKER_02: Dwayne, you really put me on the spot here.
- 56:27SPEAKER_02: Uh what are some of your goals, young man?
- 56:29SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 56:29SPEAKER_05: You didn't expect some hard-hitting questions?
- 56:31SPEAKER_02: No, no, I thought we were just gonna do tattoos and home groups.
- 56:34SPEAKER_02: We just transition right away.
- 56:35SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 56:36SPEAKER_02: So now that that's out of the way.
- 56:37SPEAKER_09: Yes.
- 56:38SPEAKER_02: Now that we've done the band.
- 56:39SPEAKER_02: What are you doing at pitches with my daughter?
- 56:42SPEAKER_02: Um look, man, I would I would like to make a profit at some point.
- 56:46SPEAKER_04: It is totally possible, by the way, that Dwayne does have a daughter and has never told any of us.
- 56:51SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 56:54SPEAKER_02: When I say make a profit, I mean with comedy, not Dwayne's offspring.
- 56:58SPEAKER_02: Uh was not referring to what you do with my daughter.
- 57:03SPEAKER_08: You don't worry about what I'm doing.
- 57:04SPEAKER_02: What are your intentions, my daughter, to make a profit?
- 57:06SPEAKER_02: It's like, let's not put those two sentences together.
- 57:09SPEAKER_02: Um, I would hope uh I hope to get to the point that I could just sell enough tickets to consistently headline.
- 57:15SPEAKER_02: But I also am not in a rush to do that, where it's like, uh, I almost wish I came up with the era that you guys did in comedy.
- 57:22SPEAKER_02: And I know everybody says that, but it's like where there was we didn't come up in the same era.
- 57:26SPEAKER_05: Fair, fair.
- 57:26SPEAKER_05: I came up before the fair.
- 57:28SPEAKER_05: No, but honestly, yeah, here.
- 57:30SPEAKER_05: I'm trying to aim down.
- 57:31SPEAKER_05: Because I feel that way too about probably about that.
- 57:34SPEAKER_05: It came up like in the Paleolithic.
- 57:36SPEAKER_05: Yes.
- 57:37SPEAKER_05: Yes.
- 57:37SPEAKER_05: You were inscribing.
- 57:38SPEAKER_05: There's a documentary about his start narrated by Morgan Freeman.
- 57:43SPEAKER_05: Right.
- 57:44SPEAKER_04: You ever see Questade?
- 57:47SPEAKER_04: The club was desolate.
- 57:49SPEAKER_02: It was the cave.
- 57:50SPEAKER_02: Every time Dwayne had two minutes left and they needed to light him, they just started a fire in the back of the room to let him know.
- 57:56SPEAKER_02: Hold up a torch.
- 57:57SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 57:57SPEAKER_02: Wrap it up.
- 58:00SPEAKER_07: He gave me the torch.
- 58:01SPEAKER_02: I gotta get it.
- 58:02SPEAKER_02: Caveman stand-up is very funny.
- 58:04SPEAKER_02: Imagine just waving a torch from the back of the room and going up there with a stone tablet.
- 58:10SPEAKER_02: Like, what did I have this week to work on?
- 58:12SPEAKER_07: Guys always bringing his notes on stage.
- 58:14SPEAKER_04: Just drag your girlfriend up there with you.
- 58:16SPEAKER_05: Let her lay on the stage while you do your act.
- 58:19SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 58:21SPEAKER_07: Don't move.
- 58:22SPEAKER_07: Good.
- 58:25SPEAKER_07: Like you did last time.
- 58:29SPEAKER_02: Um, what was the question?
- 58:33SPEAKER_02: What are your goals?
- 58:34SPEAKER_02: Oh, yes.
- 58:36SPEAKER_02: Back to that.
- 58:37SPEAKER_02: Um okay.
- 58:38SPEAKER_02: I the thing I was saying about coming up in that era, I do um I wish I came up when it was like house MCs and like you kind of got to like develop and get good in the shadows before having to put stuff out.
- 58:52SPEAKER_02: Like, I wish I still had four more years of that.
- 58:53SPEAKER_02: That'd be cool.
- 58:54SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 58:55SPEAKER_02: And now I feel like it's just constantly the hamster wheel of putting stuff out.
- 58:58SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 58:58SPEAKER_02: And I wish it was just like, oh, I could just get good at stand up uh privately.
- 59:02SPEAKER_07: Yeah, yeah, you know?
- 59:03SPEAKER_07: Yeah, absolutely, man.
- 59:05SPEAKER_07: Well, you you could do you think because why why why do you think that?
- 59:10SPEAKER_02: I mean, why um I feel like uh there was a point where I was like three years into comedy where if you asked me that question, and I'm not even trying to be corny about this, it would be like, what are your goals?
- 59:19SPEAKER_02: I'd be like, man, I want to get like a don't tell special, and I want to do the tonight show, and I want to get JFL, and it would be all of that stuff.
- 59:26SPEAKER_02: And now, like, I for real, my goal this year is just to get better at stand up.
- 59:31SPEAKER_02: Good.
- 59:32SPEAKER_02: I would just like to.
- 59:35SPEAKER_02: Also, if JFL calls, I'm doing it.
- 59:37SPEAKER_02: But don't they have auditions coming up?
- 59:39SPEAKER_02: Yes, I'm doing mine tomorrow.
- 59:41SPEAKER_05: Oh, good for you, dude.
- 59:42SPEAKER_05: There you go.
- 59:43SPEAKER_02: At Zanny's.
- 59:44SPEAKER_05: And you got what you how much time are you doing?
- 59:47SPEAKER_05: Six minutes.
- 59:47SPEAKER_05: Six minutes.
- 59:48SPEAKER_05: Yes.
- 59:48SPEAKER_05: So this is like if you were submitting for late night, maybe or okay.
- 59:52SPEAKER_02: The perfect amount of time to be funny.
- 59:54SPEAKER_02: Where are you auditioning at?
- 59:55SPEAKER_02: Oh, Zanny's.
- 59:56SPEAKER_02: Very cool.
- 59:57SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I think they're doing them at Old Town for the first time.
- 59:59SPEAKER_07: Oh, for the first time.
- 1:00:00SPEAKER_02: Which would be cool, yeah.
- 1:00:01SPEAKER_02: I that always surprised me too.
- 1:00:03SPEAKER_02: They've always done uh Lodge, Laugh, and C Y S K.
- 1:00:06SPEAKER_02: Huh.
- 1:00:07SPEAKER_07: And this year's anys.
- 1:00:08SPEAKER_07: Yeah, man.
- 1:00:09SPEAKER_07: I I well man, yeah.
- 1:00:11SPEAKER_07: Well, good luck, dude.
- 1:00:12SPEAKER_07: Yeah, appreciate it.
- 1:00:13SPEAKER_07: That'll be great.
- 1:00:14SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 1:00:14SPEAKER_07: And if and well, when things go well and you just blow up and you get a deal and the show just uh, you know, remember I always believed in you.
- 1:00:21SPEAKER_07: You guys always who you were, yes, I said, that brother's going play.
- 1:00:29SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 1:00:29SPEAKER_02: You said from Woodstock to the top.
- 1:00:31SPEAKER_07: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:00:32SPEAKER_05: Anything coming up?
- 1:00:33SPEAKER_05: Ooh.
- 1:00:34SPEAKER_02: Other than you got the JFL auditions, I just wanted to let's plug a couple things before we uh I assume this isn't gonna come out in time, but if if you hear this and it's Wednesday night, get on to Zanny's for the JFL auditions.
- 1:00:45SPEAKER_02: Um other than that, I uh just Instagram at AJ Leidig, I post everything on there.
- 1:00:50SPEAKER_02: It's kind of the the hub at this point.
- 1:00:52SPEAKER_02: I feel like people don't even side tangent, people don't even plug their websites anymore.
- 1:00:56SPEAKER_05: Yeah, right?
- 1:00:57SPEAKER_05: I know I don't.
- 1:00:58SPEAKER_05: Well it's kind of like if you put the name in, you're gonna find the website.
- 1:01:01SPEAKER_05: For sure.
- 1:01:02SPEAKER_05: You're gonna find the socials.
- 1:01:03SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 1:01:04SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 1:01:04SPEAKER_05: So it's uh but yeah, I think people still have them just because of tickets, and you know, it is a good place to have a landing site for everything.
- 1:01:13SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 1:01:13SPEAKER_05: But yeah, mostly it's the socials that people plug.
- 1:01:16SPEAKER_05: Yeah, it's just your name at this point.
- 1:01:17SPEAKER_05: It's like at AJ Lighting.
- 1:01:19SPEAKER_05: Yes.
