- 0:00When we think of a major utility company, we
- 0:02often focus on the physical infrastructure. power
- 0:06lines, water pipes. But today, we're looking
- 0:09at an investment that's just as critical. Right.
- 0:12Human capital. And Diwa, Dubai Electricity and
- 0:15Water Authority, is truly championing this. I
- 0:18mean, it's not a side project for them. It's
- 0:20a central pillar of their strategy. And they've
- 0:23been very, very clear about the philosophy that's
- 0:26driving it. Exactly. There's a guiding statement
- 0:29that sort of frames everything they do. It begins
- 0:32in line with the directives of His Highness,
- 0:35Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, vice president
- 0:38and prime minister of the UAE and ruler of Dubai
- 0:41and the Dubai Social Agenda 33. OK. We continue
- 0:45our efforts to advance human capital through
- 0:48knowledge, education and skills enhancement,
- 0:51said His Excellency Saeed Mohammed Altair, MD
- 0:54and CEO of Jiwa. It directly connects the company's
- 0:57mission. Yeah. To the nation's highest goals.
- 1:00It's top down. And the statement continues, right?
- 1:03It highlights the internal culture. At Jiwa,
- 1:06we provide a positive and empowering work environment
- 1:09that encourages continuous development and supports
- 1:12the advancement of capabilities. Wow. That not
- 1:14only sustain the journey of development, but
- 1:17also keep pace with future trends and contribute
- 1:19to comprehensive, sustainable development and
- 1:22the achievement of net zero goals, said His Excellency
- 1:26Saeed Mohammed Altair, MD and CEO of Jiwa. So
- 1:29these aren't just words. They've built this powerful
- 1:32engine to make it all happen. Right. Starting
- 1:34with the Diwa Campus for Occupational and Academic
- 1:37Development. That's the hub. And its academic
- 1:39heart, the Diwa Academy, that's been operating
- 1:42since 2013. It has already graduated... Eight
- 1:46batches, that's 351 students who are now fully
- 1:50integrated into these critical roles in power,
- 1:52water, and civil divisions. So they are literally
- 1:55building their own workforce from the ground
- 1:57up. Yeah, exactly. But they don't stop there.
- 2:00They also invest in their current employees through
- 2:03a higher studies scholarship program. Over 235
- 2:06employees have earned postgraduate degrees this
- 2:09way. And these aren't just any degrees. One of
- 2:11the flagship offerings is a master's program
- 2:14in future energy. systems and technologies. Get
- 2:17this. Run in collaboration with the University
- 2:19of California, Berkeley. I mean, that sets an
- 2:22incredibly high bar. And that global standard
- 2:25extends to their research. Diwa's R &D center
- 2:28plays a huge role here, with a strong immuterization
- 2:31rate of nearly 68%. Wow. Through its Al -Baheth
- 2:35program, it has trained 200 interns from 80 different
- 2:39universities, giving them hands -on skills for
- 2:42the real world. So this focus on the next generation
- 2:44is a really consistent theme. They engage everyone
- 2:48from schoolchildren at the Sustainability and
- 2:50Innovation Center, all the way to young professionals
- 2:53in the DY Youth Council. And there's a dedicated
- 2:56focus on female empowerment, too. The numbers
- 2:59there are also impressive. The DY Women's Committee
- 3:02organized over 50 workshops for more than 1 ,400
- 3:06female employees in 2025. Plus, a dedicated leadership
- 3:10program graduating 25 women per batch. to serve
- 3:14as ambassadors for the company. So from young
- 3:16students to postgraduates, from technical skills
- 3:19to leadership. It's huge. It's a truly comprehensive
- 3:23strategy. It shows a real long -term commitment,
- 3:26not just to the company, but to the nation's
- 3:28future knowledge economy. Now, here's a question
- 3:31we'd like you, our listeners, to think about.
- 3:34As the line between corporate success and national
- 3:37development just keeps blurring, what is the
- 3:40single most important role a major organization
- 3:43should play in shaping its country's future workforce.
