- 0:00Speaker 1: This is dirty, little secret.
- 0:01Speaker 2: A secret.
- 0:05Speaker 3: Makes one o two point nine and Bill at a
- 0:06Speaker 3: kid Canda slow pats producer.
- 0:08Speaker 2: Who, by the way, we get one thousand dollars coming
- 0:10Speaker 2: in next. You're ready for that?
- 0:11Speaker 3: Your chance some money if you have a secret eight
- 0:13Speaker 3: three three seven eight seven, one oh two nine and
- 0:16Speaker 3: bring it on, small secret, big secret, silly secret, serious whatever,
- 0:21Speaker 3: Just confess and you do.
- 0:22Speaker 2: What's up?
- 0:23Speaker 4: Well, I need to confess something because I think I
- 0:25Speaker 4: accidentally ruined one of the biggest surprises of my life.
- 0:30Speaker 1: Oh no.
- 0:31Speaker 4: I have been dating my boyfriend Cush for about six
- 0:34Speaker 4: months a little over, and honestly, things have moved really
- 0:39Speaker 4: really fast. And a big part of that is because
- 0:43Speaker 4: he lives an hour away, which isn't terrible, but it's
- 0:47Speaker 4: just far enough that I end up staying at his
- 0:49Speaker 4: house a lot. Uh. And I can do that because
- 0:52Speaker 4: fortunately I work remotely and so I can do my
- 0:55Speaker 4: job pretty much from anywhere. And you know, things have
- 0:59Speaker 4: been really good lately with him, like really really good.
- 1:04Speaker 4: And he's casually joked about marriage a few times, and
- 1:09Speaker 4: every time I just, you know, I laugh at all
- 1:11Speaker 4: or I laugh along because I figured, you know, we
- 1:15Speaker 4: were just talking about the future in a cute way,
- 1:18Speaker 4: in an abstract way. Well, this past weekend he had
- 1:23Speaker 4: to work. I stayed at his house and I thought
- 1:25Speaker 4: I would do some you know, nice things around the
- 1:28Speaker 4: house and knock out some laundry. While he was gone,
- 1:31Speaker 4: and I was putting away some of his clothes, I
- 1:33Speaker 4: opened one of his dresser chores and there it was
- 1:37Speaker 4: a ring box.
- 1:38Speaker 2: Oh oh wow.
- 1:40Speaker 4: Yeah. My heart literally dropped and I told myself there
- 1:44Speaker 4: was no way that like that this was what I
- 1:48Speaker 4: think it was. But of course my curiosity got the
- 1:51Speaker 4: best of me. So I opened it and what do
- 1:55Speaker 4: you guys think?
- 1:56Speaker 2: It is an engagement ring?
- 1:58Speaker 4: Yep, okay, yeah, and it's let me tell you, it's nice.
- 2:03Speaker 4: It's not my dream ring. It's not bad. Girl. Now
- 2:08Speaker 4: I'm completely freaking out because dot dot dot we have
- 2:14Speaker 4: a trip plan next weekend to Galveston to see some family.
- 2:18Speaker 4: And he rented this a really nice airbnb right on
- 2:22Speaker 4: the ocean, and you know, for the last couple of
- 2:25Speaker 4: weeks he's been talking about this trip NonStop. But he's
- 2:28Speaker 4: just so excited about it. And now I'm convinced this
- 2:31Speaker 4: is where he's planning to propose.
- 2:33Speaker 2: Okay, so I get it. So like he's been talking
- 2:37Speaker 2: about marriage.
- 2:37Speaker 3: You find the ring, you got a trip plan, some
- 2:40Speaker 3: kind of you know romance.
- 2:43Speaker 4: Yeah, math is mathing exactly. And here's the problem. I
- 2:47Speaker 4: don't think I'm ready to get engaged after six months.
- 2:50Speaker 4: And please don't hate me for the saying this next
- 2:53Speaker 4: part ring Well yeah, I mean yeah, the ring's like okay,
- 2:57Speaker 4: but if I had imagined my dream proposal, you know,
- 3:01Speaker 4: Galveston was not in that trick, like you know.
- 3:08Speaker 2: Like dirty water, poor.
- 3:12Speaker 4: Word, Oh my lord. I mean it's like, okay, I'm
- 3:15Speaker 4: not from Texas, so when I pictured this magical beach engagement,
- 3:19Speaker 4: I'm thinking we're still clear water and white San Galveston.
- 3:26Speaker 2: Okay, I get it.
- 3:28Speaker 3: But I'm a big I'm a Galveston lover, and I
- 3:31Speaker 3: know I'm few and far between, but I love Galveston.
- 3:36Speaker 1: And unless you've grown up here, I have a lot
- 3:39Speaker 1: of time spent here, it's not as magical or nostalgic.
- 3:44Speaker 3: Well, and I was going to say it's a special
- 3:45Speaker 3: place for me because my son and I go there
- 3:47Speaker 3: and we have for years growing up with him, and
- 3:49Speaker 3: would you propose there?
- 3:51Speaker 2: No?
- 3:52Speaker 4: Right, Sorry, I know I know people love it it's
- 3:56Speaker 4: not what I pictured. And on top of that, I
- 3:59Speaker 4: apparently know his And if he proposes with all of
- 4:01Speaker 4: them standing around watching me, I'm going to pass out.
- 4:05Speaker 2: You think he would propose in front of his I
- 4:07Speaker 2: mean people do that.
- 4:08Speaker 1: It's possible. But he could also propose privately and then
- 4:11Speaker 1: be like, hey, they're here to celebrate.
- 4:13Speaker 3: Oh that's that's even extra cringe. I don't like those
- 4:17Speaker 3: like I listen, I proposed a few times. It's a
- 4:19Speaker 3: few different women. So if anybody knows how to mess
- 4:22Speaker 3: it up, it's me.
- 4:24Speaker 4: I like proposal, What to do?
- 4:28Speaker 2: What do you do? That is? That is like, this
- 4:31Speaker 2: is not the best situation. I get it. I get
- 4:34Speaker 2: the Galveston thing.
- 4:35Speaker 3: I I'm being real, But if you squint, it can
- 4:39Speaker 3: look like Cancun. You you have a few margarita's and
- 4:46Speaker 3: get the right back drop. There's places in Galveston that
- 4:49Speaker 3: are not.
- 4:49Speaker 1: There are beautiful places. But more importantly, you don't want
- 4:52Speaker 1: to get engaged after six months, right.
- 4:54Speaker 4: That's a big I don't want to be with a
- 4:56Speaker 4: man who thinks that I want to get engaged in
- 4:58Speaker 4: Galveston absolutely doesn't know. You know, do I dropping hints
- 5:04Speaker 4: that I'm not ready for marriage. Do I casually mentioned
- 5:08Speaker 4: public proposals terrify me?
- 5:12Speaker 2: Hint? You got yeah?
- 5:13Speaker 1: Otherwise this is gonna end poorly.
- 5:16Speaker 2: You sound more of like a south padre girly.
- 5:19Speaker 4: Oh god no, I sound more like a Caribbean on
- 5:23Speaker 4: an island with like a remote island.
- 5:26Speaker 2: But he's on a gallops and budget. It sounds like,
- 5:27Speaker 2: so let this guy live a little bit. He should wait,
- 5:31Speaker 2: he should wait. They all agree on that.
- 5:35Speaker 3: He's in the moment though, he's feeling himself, and he's
- 5:38Speaker 3: obviously he's.
- 5:39Speaker 2: In love and he wants to lock it down now.
- 5:42Speaker 3: Maybe he could be like, oh, I hate to do
- 5:44Speaker 3: this to you, but my uncle Carlos, I don't know.
- 5:48Speaker 3: Uncle Carlos isn't doing well.
- 5:50Speaker 2: Uncle Carlos.
- 5:51Speaker 1: Let this happen if it takes lying and making an excuse.
- 5:54Speaker 1: But really, the hints, I think if you drop a
- 5:56Speaker 1: big enough hint, I think he'll draw back for a
- 5:58Speaker 1: second and say, oh, I need to rethink this himself.
- 6:02Speaker 3: I really do think, though, if you truly love this guy,
- 6:05Speaker 3: then it won't matter at the end of the day
- 6:07Speaker 3: where he does it.
- 6:08Speaker 1: Yeah, but if you don't want to get engaged in
- 6:09Speaker 1: six months.
- 6:12Speaker 2: Man, poor Galiston, Galveston, just catching strays, you know. I mean,
- 6:18Speaker 2: it's beautiful.
- 6:20Speaker 3: There's when there's not a flesh eating virus in the water. Yeah,
- 6:23Speaker 3: it's a beautiful place.
- 6:25Speaker 2: Hotel is there? Oh yeah? Tell him the parasites on
- 6:29Speaker 2: the beach.
- 6:31Speaker 1: It's in the seaweed.
- 6:35Speaker 2: Good luck. I'm sorry that you're going through this. This
- 6:38Speaker 2: should be an exciting time.
- 6:40Speaker 4: I'll get you.
- 6:43Speaker 2: Please do it. Tell him not to do it at
- 6:44Speaker 2: low tide.
