- 2:46of course, we're going to have more about the Republican National Convention from Milwaukee.
- 2:51Yes, Big Jim and Baby Dog we're there last night. We're going
- 2:54to get your reactions to that. Plus Delegate Kaylee Young will be stobbing by
- 2:58a little bit later on as well. Let me bring in our good friend
- 3:00Milly Snyder from the Shape Shop. Good morning, Milly. How are you.
- 3:04I'm wonderful, Dave. How about you? I'm doing fine, Thank
- 3:07you, thank you very much. Been watching the Republican National Convention. No,
- 3:10okay, let's move on. I mean, I didn't want to mince
- 3:15words. I love you for your honesty. I love you for your honesty.
- 3:17But all right, so good talk. Maybe just the simple answer.
- 3:23It's fine. We don't talk politics when you're on the show anyway, so
- 3:25I wouldn't ask you. I wouldn't ask you to get into anything, be
- 3:29it Republican, Democrat or otherwise. I would not ask you to get into
- 3:32that at all. I am here to congratulate you, really, yes,
- 3:37because I was so impressed because you shared on Facebook a healthy meal that you
- 3:44ate one one one. Well, I blame I blame Tom Sussman for that,
- 3:49my good friend Tom Susman. Well, thank you Tom Susman for showing
- 3:52you the pathway. But I must tell you I was impressed. You had
- 3:57grilled chicken on a salad, and I was cheering in my kitchen. You
- 4:02go, Dave, you go, man. I have always liked. I
- 4:08mean, the thing about me is when it comes to food is I love
- 4:10everything. So I'm not opposed to having having I love salads, I love
- 4:15grilled chicken, I love salmon, I love all that stuff. We want
- 4:16you to bite the fried and the grease and the crap less. Yeah,
- 4:21well, and I'm on my way there, as I shared with Millie,
- 4:26and I wasn't going to say anything about it on the air, but Millie
- 4:30and well, she's the Queen of breaking. But now I had a little
- 4:38health issue. It was nothing major, but I started. He started when
- 4:41I went to an optometrist because I needed new glasses and they were looking around
- 4:46in my head and you know whatever, and they didn't find a whole lot,
- 4:48to be honest with you, but they know it's a blood spot in
- 4:51my eye. It was like a floating blood spot. And they said,
- 4:54you need to probably go to your primary care physician and get this looked at.
- 4:58Well, a shamed, I didn't have a primary care position. Uh
- 5:01so I went to one and finally found somebody that was taking new patients.
- 5:05And I went to one and the lady when she was taking my blood pressure
- 5:12and let me just say, shout out to nurse Tanya, who is extremely
- 5:15from extreme southern West Virginia and where I'm from, she's further south than I
- 5:19am. Tanya when she took my blood purchase said, oh my god,
- 5:23honey, lay down, and I said, we need to send love to
- 5:27her. And uh and so it was pretty high. It was, you
- 5:31know, both both numbers were triple digits. Uh. And that's that's what
- 5:34we call scary. Yeah. And she said, okay, you need to
- 5:38lay down immediately. And so I had to start making a few lifestyle changes
- 5:44here and there. They didn't put me on a diet per se because I
- 5:47would have argued, I know, said Millie Snyder says, that's not what
- 5:49you do. You do lifestyle changes. And I like, I am not
- 5:53perfect by these stretches of and I've only been into this thing a lot of
- 5:56Monelie darn clothes. But now I've been trying to do a little bit better,
- 6:00doing a little bit more exercise, eating a little bit more. Cutting
- 6:04out salt is a big deal for me because number one, Southern West Virginia,
- 6:10that's what we do. We sold everything. I want Southern West Virginia
- 6:16to hear this broadcast because they need and I hope it becomes their wish to
- 6:24begin changing their eating habits. I'm a kid who literally had a salt shaker
- 6:29in my locker in grade school. I believe you. I mean I salted
- 6:32everything and believe you, and I want to someday the next time I'm on,
- 6:35I want to tell you there's a real story about JC Penny because back
- 6:41in the day, I have to tell it now, Okay, there back
- 6:44in the day when J. C. Penny actually ran his business, if
- 6:46he was considering you for a promotion, he invited you out for lunch and
- 6:51he observed your eating habits. If you salted your food before you tasted it,
- 6:58you didn't get the promotion. If you tasted your food and then made
- 7:02your decision, you were considered more favorable for the position. And that's something
- 7:09that we could learn from. And by the way, this is listed in
- 7:13in the biography about J. C. Penny. How many of us have
- 7:18that salt shaker in our purse in our back pocket in the car because we
- 7:24are sure that the food needs salt. I know you have, and I
- 7:28will say that this journey for me, and it's I'm only I'm only assass
- 7:31said I looked it up last night. It's two days shive a month.
- 7:36It's not been as difficult for me as what it would be for some people,
- 7:39because I like everything. I just got to watch about adding and finding
- 7:44things. And I'm looking at labels now I'm looking at sodium and I'm thinking,
- 7:47yeah, that's and I need you also to look at sugar. Sugar.
- 7:50Sugar is now cited by the FDA as a food that is not our
- 7:56friend, and a lot of people take arms with me. Oh my god,
- 8:00leave sugar alone. Don't say that. The truth of the matter is
- 8:03it only tastes good in our mouth. The salt only tastes good in our
- 8:07mouth, But in the meantime it's contaminating other parts of our body. Why
- 8:11is my food store healthy and without preservatives and chemicals in the food, Because
- 8:18it's the way to eat. Oh and by the way, I want to
- 8:22share with you, we have a brand new venue today for the food truck.
- 8:26Yeah, we're going to Thomas Hospital. Oh okay, So if anybody
- 8:31is out and about in that part of the valley, please stop and have
- 8:35a wonderful lunch with us. Of course, you can always come to the
- 8:37store itself. Seven oh, six Central Avenue, and that's on the west
- 8:43side of Charleston. But we're excited to be at a new venue for lunchtime
- 8:48today at Thomas And how long are there? What are the hours? We're
- 8:50going to be there from eleven to one thirtyeth So, if you're anywhere in
- 8:54the area. What's on the truck today? Oh gosh, we have our
- 8:58whole menu is there. We will make a number of different wraps. You
- 9:03want salmon bites, you can get those. And you know you're about a
- 9:07year and a half ago when the girls in the Shape Shop put salmon bites
- 9:11on the truck, I thought that was crazy because people don't eat cooked salmon
- 9:16when they're walking around. You know. In the meantime they sold out and
- 9:22shows what you know, huh, absolutely. And the point is that people
- 9:26want fresh, clean, delicious food and that's what we pride ourselves in making
- 9:30at the Shape Shop. If you need salt, you can add it,
- 9:33but we're not going to hand you food that is already so salty. You
- 9:39need to drink a bottle of water afterwards. A lot of drink water,
- 9:43please. Well a lot of times and I've heard you say this and and
- 9:46I've been doing this for about four years now. I've heard you say,
- 9:48don't be fooled by labels that say low fat, no fat or whatever.
- 9:54It just you know, you got to read what's actually in it. One
- 9:56thing I have discovered and I'm going to and you may admonish me for this,
- 10:00maybe good or maybe bad. Is I love spicy food. I mean
- 10:03the spicier the better I have been putting instead of salt I've been using.
- 10:07It. Used to be called missus dash. Now it's just called dash.
- 10:11There's there's no wealth or we don't want to put genders on things anymore.
- 10:16It's dash now. But the extra spicy and there's no no sodium in it.
- 10:22No pretty much, No, it hasn't. And it has an excellent
- 10:24taste. And I use it in my own house, all right, So
- 10:28I passed. I mean, that's okay. I can use the dash,
- 10:31and it's available a variety of different flavors. I use the extra spicy.
- 10:33Co you need a little kick, You can use that on so many of
- 10:37their of your choices. Oh, I have eating healthfully. Eating healthfully is
- 10:43for the preservation of our well being, and people just don't know how to
- 10:46do that. Now you know, the weight loss drug is all over television
- 10:52because thousands upon thousands of people are taking it, but they are not learning
- 10:58proper eating habits. And I am I'm up. I'm just so upset about
- 11:05it. All right, I'm gonna ask to ask you to put your your
- 11:07headphones on because I think we have a call for you. Great. Let's
- 11:11so put your headphones on and if we don't break the microphone in the process.
- 11:15Okay, all right, anewan, we're ready, go ahead, put
- 11:16him through. Hello, you're on the air. Hi. I just wanted
- 11:22to congratulate Millie on just a great career of helping people with weight loss in
- 11:28the Canaw Valley and around southern West Virginia. She really made a change in
- 11:33my life to help me make a change of lifestyle. I lost one hundred
- 11:39pounds, my blood pressure went down, the shape shop is, the food
- 11:43is great. And just appreciate everything she's done. All thank you very Jim.
- 11:50I appreciate you calling in. Thanks a lot. Well that's great news.
- 11:52Thank you very much. All Right, Well there's your fan. You
- 11:56got another way. I actually have a question here for you than Milly.
- 11:58Why in the world, world in the why in the world. In the
- 12:01first world country like the USA, are things like MSG still legal well,
- 12:05because a lot of people who prepare food are not paying attention to that because
- 12:13it definitely has some ugly side effects. Mano, Sudium glutamate is not a
- 12:18friend. And again I'm going to tie that in with the same sentence,
- 12:22neither is sugar. And so we need to understand that these news items that
- 12:28are out there, if there are places that are still serving that there's a
- 12:33simple way that we say no, thank you, or could you tell me
- 12:37what's in the food that you are preparing. Now, They're not going to
- 12:41kick you out, they're not going to take your photo and swear that you'll
- 12:46never come into that restaurant again. But if we are not afraid to ask
- 12:50questions and we need to ask for fresh could you tell me how this is
- 12:56prepared? And that's what I want people to know. In my Mediterranean group,
- 13:01I want people to I teach our members how to take recipes apart and
- 13:05decide if these are healthy. Eating breakfast, lunch, and supper sounds very
- 13:13simple to you and I, but you would be amazed day at how many
- 13:16people do not understand those simple steps and they run out and get fried food
- 13:22and they don't eat all day long, but they justify it because they haven't
- 13:26eaten all day. And that's that's body abuse, it is, and that's
- 13:31health abuse. You mentioned, you mentioned before we let you go your classes.
- 13:35Talk about your classes that you offer again. Well, I have two
- 13:37Mediterranean groups Thursday morning, Saturday morning. It's in a private room at our
- 13:43Shapeshop building seven oh six Central Avenue. And tomorrow we're meeting at nine am,
- 13:50and then again Saturday morning, we'll meet at nine am. A modesty
- 13:54to come and learn how to eat and how to eat healthfily, don't let
- 13:58the word medianean scare you. It simply refers to a very healthy way of
- 14:03eating that was adopted from that part of the world. And you will eat
- 14:07better eating Mediterranean food than you've eaten in your entire life because all of it
- 14:13is not contaminated. And I want to teach as many people as want to
- 14:18learn it. The weight loss drug is not the answer, indeed. And
- 14:22you're at Thomas today and then this coming Friday we'll be back at Live on
- 14:28the Levee Cool and that's going to be winding down. I think in the
- 14:33middle of August, and our food truck is available for any business that would
- 14:37like to honor their employees or just do something special for that area where they're
- 14:45located. All they have to do is call the Shape Shop and we'll be
- 14:48happy to help them. All right, Reilly, appreciate you being here.
- 14:52Thanks. Shape Shop located AT's seven oh six Central Avenue on the west side
- 14:56of Charleston. And you looking good, Dave, Well, I mean maybe
- 15:01from the neck down. I don't know. We can't do anything about the
- 15:03neck up, so I don't know about that, but we'll have at your

- 19:32Della Gate, Good morning to the show. How are you doing good?
- 19:34How you doing I'm doing good. This is my second radio interview today.
- 19:37I won't say their name, but yeah, I feel like I'm on a
- 19:41tour. What yeah you mean there's another radio show besides this one not around
- 19:45here? Okay, all right? Is it affiliated with our company somewhere?
- 19:48No, I don't think I don't think it, so I'm not going to
- 19:51say it. Right, It's okay, it's okay. We don't own you
- 19:53on this show. First of all, I want to start it get a
- 19:57little serious here for a moment. And I've done this with just about every
- 20:02guest that I've had on the show this week. Oh, by the way,
- 20:04I did have a text for Milly. I forgot to read. This
- 20:07said, yay, I would vote for Milly. That's what one of the
- 20:08Texters had. I asked her if she'd been watching the RNC, and she
- 20:12point like no, you should run. And I said to her, I
- 20:15said, I want to ask you to talk politics. When somebody turned in
- 20:19said she, you know, I would vote for Milly. But with most
- 20:23of the guests I've had on in the show, Delegate, I have asked
- 20:26them about their thoughts on the attempted assassination of Donald Trump's Saturday evening in Butler,
- 20:32Pennsylvania. You want a way in absolutely. I was out of town
- 20:36with a group of legislators and we were all chocked and appalled. I think
- 20:38it's terrifying and really really scary, and no one should ever be subjected to
- 20:42violence. And I really am concerned with the failure of the Secret Service.
- 20:48I don't know, I can't understand how someone with the gun got that close
- 20:52to him. Yeah, and there's there's going to be a lot of heads
- 20:55roll on this thing and again, and I want to talk about that a
- 20:57little bit later on the show. And I don't I'm trying not to politicize
- 21:02it, but there is a massive breakdown here now where you start getting the
- 21:04murky waters is all the conspiracy theories out there, and I tend to let's
- 21:08just let let's let it play out, you know, But I don't think
- 21:12anybody delegate would disagree. There was a massive failure by someone here, and
- 21:18I think somebody at the top of the Secret Service is probably gonna lose their
- 21:21job over there. I think they should. It's terrifying. I mean when
- 21:23you say, and again, I don't want to get you know, I
- 21:26don't want to want to presume too much. But when you say it was
- 21:29a sloped roof up there, well, he had no problem getting up there.
- 21:33And I saw a meme yesterday not to make fun of this. They
- 21:37said, oh, you know, going back years ago, we couldn't get
- 21:40it, said, thank goodness that Osama bin Laden wasn't on a slope roof.
- 21:45Yeah. I mean, it's just wild because it's not like they were
- 21:48in a city right where there's a lot of potential points. They looked like
- 21:51they're out in the middle of nowhere, so there were only so many options.
- 21:55So it's it's scary and it's terrible. But I am happy to hear
- 21:57you. I'm happy to hear you your statement. And Mike Pushkins earlier as
- 22:03well to say, you know, we've got to somehow tone this down now.
- 22:07We could when the investigation comes out, we could find out. This
- 22:11could be a Jodie Foster, a John Hinckley Junior type situation where there was
- 22:15no political band at all, just somebody that was the little nuts and did
- 22:18this. And we'll let all that play out. But I am I'm happy
- 22:22to hear you and others that may be on the complete total opposite end of
- 22:26the spectrum from Donald Trump to say what you just said. Oh absolutely,
- 22:30And I don't know if you know. There was a House statement that went
- 22:32out from ninety nine members, so I was thankful that they wrote that for
- 22:36us, and I was happy to sign on to it. I don't want
- 22:38anybody to get hurt. Yeah, So, how do we tone down some
- 22:41of this rhetoric, because regardless of what we find out about the shooter,
- 22:47there's a lot of it out there, and there's enough on both sides to
- 22:48float the parobial battleship. So that's right, that's right, there is I
- 22:52don't know how. I don't know how, and it's scary. I've wondered
- 22:55that for a long time because it's it. I don't know how you tone
- 22:59it down because everyone's so angry and so upset and so hateful on both sides
- 23:03and I don't know how we'd tone it down. I hope that we do.
- 23:07I was a little alarmed by something the governor said last night, and
- 23:11I thought it was quite violent, potentially talk about I didn't watch his whole
- 23:17thing. I turned it on halfway through, and I believe he said,
- 23:19if Donald Trump doesn't win, we will become absolutely unhinted. I don't know
- 23:25the exact th qua. I have the quote here. Let me see.
- 23:29I don't want to steal your show. No no, no, no,
- 23:30no, no, it's fine. We become totally unhinged if Donald Trump is
- 23:33not elected in November. That was a direct quote from Governor Justice last night.
- 23:37Yeah, that's a little alarming to me in the wake of us all
- 23:41trying to tone down violence. And I don't find the governor to be that
- 23:44type of person in any capacity. I've never I think he's silly, but
- 23:48I don't know him to be. You know, I don't know him to
- 23:49be. I don't I wouldn't even call him mean, you know. I
- 23:52just think he's kind of goofy and funny and a very nice enough person.
- 23:57But I don't know. I found that kind of alarming because we've seen it
- 24:02we've seen people become totally unhinged when Donald Trump wasn't elected so literally, so
- 24:07it scared me a little bit. I was kind of I was quite taken
- 24:11aback by the statement myself last night, to be honest with you, and
- 24:15what I said after day one was I thought, because I watched a I
- 24:18waunch a lot more coverage on day one than I did on day two.
- 24:22And on day one I was kind of I thought, well, you know,
- 24:25they're talking primarily about the economy, and that's what they did at the
- 24:27audiency Mondays. They have a theme for every day, and Mondays was make
- 24:30America Wealthy, because it was a different thing, and they talked about about
- 24:34primarily the economy and things of that nature, of what people are paying at
- 24:38the grocery store and things of that nature. But then last and I'm just
- 24:45I guess I'm a little apprehensive it as we get closer to the big finish
- 24:48on Thursday night, that you're going to start hearing more and more. I
- 24:52hope not, because I was at least I've read that Trump had tore up
- 24:55a speech and now he's trying to be the great unifier, which is wild,
- 24:59But I I want less divisiveness from everyone. So I think it would
- 25:03be excellent if leaders are doing that as well. So yeah, I hope
- 25:06it was just a misspeak. But I mean he was reading off a prompter,
- 25:08so I don't know. He did have baby Dog with him. He
- 25:11did, And it was so wild because right after he said that statement,
- 25:15it panned out to showing him in baby Dog and I was like, oh,
- 25:18now everyone knows her, Oh yeah, oh yeah. I mean there
- 25:21was no there's not going to be an appearance by Jim Justice that there wasn't
- 25:26baby Dog there. That's right, Baby Dog was there. And I read
- 25:30some of the and I wondered, just and again, I just wondered,
- 25:32what the rest of the country, because we've kind of grown, you grown
- 25:34accustomed to baby Dog here, and it's just, you know, just to
- 25:37make the thing and now Politico and all these other you know. I saw
- 25:41an article that was tweeted out by xed out by Fox News that you know,
- 25:45who is baby Dog. I saw rumors that there was like an issue
- 25:48with her being there on the like, which with the people. Yeah,
- 25:52because I had texted you last night just to remind you that we had set
- 25:55this out two weeks ago and I texted you and I said, hey,
- 25:56don't forget about your apparents tomorrow. And you said, I've heard that there's
- 26:00that. Yeah, I don't know what the rumors would I don't I know
- 26:02people voter, they're working there, like on media and that. I didn't
- 26:06know the rumors either, just that there was like a problem. Well,
- 26:07I mean, baby dog has become quite a diva, you know, and
- 26:11gets hurt, and it was heavy right to be well, and I will
- 26:15say humble. I will say this. I don't know exactly if there was
- 26:18an issue, but with the governors speaking last night, because I had seen
- 26:22where, uh my friend Steven Allen Adams from all the newspapers had said like
- 26:27the governor coming up in like thirty seconds, and I was watching it last
- 26:30night and I was and I was like, okay, they kept going from
- 26:34person to person, and I don't know what the issue was. I mean,
- 26:37that's you know, that's obviously a live show, so they're moving people
- 26:40around constantly. I thought the governor was going to be on a little bit
- 26:44on time. Why. I don't know whether he was on in the building
- 26:48or not. I'm not I'm not sure he was. That's a big building,
- 26:51don't. I'm not sure. I speaking of the governor, your thoughts
- 26:56on a lot of the talk of the budget surplus, you know, and
- 27:00the governor's proposed tax cuts because you know this, We know that everybody keeps
- 27:06talking about the surplus that we have. At Eric Tar in the show yesterday
- 27:10talking about it, and the governor is proposing if you have when you have
- 27:12a special session. I guess next month he's proposing even even more tax cuts.
- 27:17A lot of people are saying to use their terminology pump the brakes here,
- 27:21including Senator Tar, and I think House Speaker Hanshaw was on with Hoppi
- 27:26and said, well, let's just kind of take a look at this.
- 27:29Where are you on the thing? I do think we need to take a
- 27:30look at it. We stopped getting the six year look ahead, which is
- 27:33in the weeds. But typically when we would get budget things throughout session,
- 27:37we would have a six year look ahead to see how the culmination of everything
- 27:40we were doing is going to affect our budget. And that stopped during some
- 27:45at some point during Governor Justices term, so we no longer have that look
- 27:48ahead to see how everything comes into play. You know, we did the
- 27:52Hope Scholarship Bill a few years ago, and it really kicks into gear.
- 27:53I want to say it this year or maybe next year. And that's a
- 27:56massive further financial thing. Plus, we did the twenty one and a half
- 28:00percent tax cut and we had all the COVID money. So I agree that
- 28:04we need to take a minute and look at where our finances are to see
- 28:11what we're capable of doing. I think is a total somewhere like six hundred
- 28:14and fifty million in surplus. I believe, I know childcare is number one
- 28:18on my list to pay for. I'm going to get in that a little
- 28:19bit later on again, we're talking with Deligate, Kaylee Young, The Dave
- 28:22Alan Show and five in They Live brought to you part about Bridge Valley.

- 28:41slash apprenticeships. Today, some people have said I don't want to put you
- 28:45in a position that you don't want to answer. But some people have said
- 28:48that this whole thing, well, one person being Eric tar It, said
- 28:52that this whole thing about even further tax cuts that the governor's asking for,
- 28:57that this is just campane fodder, as he called it. Your thoughts.
- 29:02That could be true. I'm also not sure if he was when he initially
- 29:06called for that five percent when he was announcing, you know, the whole
- 29:08big balloon thing where they were talking about how much money they had and he
- 29:14announced the additional five percent. I'm not sure if he was aware that there
- 29:17was going to be a cut, because right after we said that, there
- 29:18was the four percent cut. Because when we did that twenty one and a
- 29:22half percent tax cut, there's also triggers to further cut it. So technically
- 29:26we kind of it's going to lower if we meet these benchmarks regardless. So
- 29:32I guess I don't know why we need to come back in and slash another
- 29:34five percent when four percent already went in, so it's already up to twenty
- 29:38nine percent. You were bridging gaps already. You and Eric tar are on
- 29:42exactly the same page. Sometimes we are. There's more Honestly, there's more
- 29:48agreements in government than there are disagreements, but they just don't make the headlines
- 29:52because of people like me agreed well, but agreements are boring, right For
- 29:56a lot of the time, it's the we want the gossip and the drama,
- 29:59and when we all agree, it's not exciting. But good things can
- 30:02happen. You mentioned childcare or you mentioned the children in general. There are
- 30:10major issues with DHHR still and they're coming out all. I mean, it's
- 30:15we've had kind of a bit of a lull here for a bit, but
- 30:18from the situation in Boone County, within the situation in the Sistonville area,
- 30:22there seems to be so many issues delegate with childcare in the state, it
- 30:27DHHR or other agencies or just individuals. How do we fix it? Well,
- 30:32you do. I was talking specifically about childcare, like daycare type programs.
- 30:37I like to use the word childcare because we're not taking care of days,
- 30:38we're taking care of children. But I'm talking about childcare for when people
- 30:41need to go to work or you know, something like that. However,
- 30:45there are and at that portion of DHHR or what was known as DHHR works
- 30:49extremely well. We just need to give them some more funding so the people
- 30:53they're great at their jobs, and definitely some more people in childcare. But
- 30:56people don't want to open childcare facilities because they make zero make The math doesn't
- 31:02math, and so we need way more childcare facilities. But who would do
- 31:06that because you're working your butt off and not getting any benefits. It's a
- 31:10terrible business model by design because people can't afford what it actually costs to provide
- 31:14childcare. But we need folks to get to work, and so they can't
- 31:15get to work if they don't have somewhere for their beautiful children to go.
- 31:21Largely speaking about DHR in general, yeah, there's we've got a lot of
- 31:23issues with the foster care system, still completely broken over six and foster care,
- 31:27and that should keep you up at night. I hope it keeps everyone
- 31:30up at night. And then also, yeah, the recent stuff with the
- 31:33folks that we've seen in Boone County and the death of the young girl,
- 31:37and then that leads to the larger conversation of homeschooling. Whether those are the
- 31:41same conversation, I don't know, but they have been recently in the news.
- 31:44I think it was hoppy that said, and I agree with what Happy
- 31:48said that you know, nobody's saying in that situation that homeschooling caused the little
- 31:52girl to lose her life, No one. And there are countless homeschooling success
- 31:59stories out there that people good, good friends of mine, that are doing
- 32:00it one hundred percent right. However, there is a breakdown somewhere. Yes,
- 32:07when the reporting you know, they go whatever, and you've been following
- 32:10this north clasture than I have when they went so that they and I know,
- 32:14and and I had Delegate Krause on here who's a big proponent of homeschooling,
- 32:16that laid it out this. If you're homeschooling, these are your requirements.
- 32:21That's right, this is what you're supposed to do. And these people,
- 32:23apparently in Boom County didn't do it, and no one checked on them.
- 32:29I think like the number is low, less than half of people do
- 32:31do them? Do do the requirements. And it's for four assessments that you
- 32:35turn in. It's like third grade, fifth grade. Uh, there's four.
- 32:38I don't know the exact Yeah, she laid and she knows and she's
- 32:42she's very very well versed in these requires. So is this something that the
- 32:45legislature needs to look out, Delegate. I mean, do we need to
- 32:46go in and go, hey, we got a titan this, we need
- 32:49a six months evaluation, we need a one year of valuation or I don't
- 32:52know the answer. And something that I find very it's really hard to track
- 32:54kids because we don't track kids like we track adults. They don't pay taxes,
- 32:59so we don't track them, and I don't know how we track them
- 33:02while keeping their privacy safe. A database scares me because but at the same
- 33:07time their children. It feels as if like we have a lot more homeschool
- 33:12regulations than a lot of states do, frankly, even though I feel like
- 33:15they're fairly laxed. But obviously other states aren't. Kids aren't dying at the
- 33:20rate that they are here, So something's broken to me. It tells me
- 33:22our communities are a little bit broken, because if that's the only time eyes
- 33:25are on kids, and eyes aren't on kids when these assessments are turned in,
- 33:29they're mailed in, so like once you pull your kids out of public
- 33:31school, no one has to technically see them again. So I don't know
- 33:36what the answer becomes to ensure that these kids are safe. We want to
- 33:38trust parents to ensure that kids are safe because that's their job. That's the
- 33:43parent's job, and we should be able to trust them. But kids keep
- 33:45dying, and that scares me. I was going to say, do we
- 33:49need to look at and again, I'm the one that always says, let's
- 33:52keep government out of people's lives. But there are certain aspects, you know,
- 33:57I can't pay my roads, you know for certain things. Yeah,
- 34:01is this something that maybe the again the lay I don't put all the all
- 34:05the emphasis on the on the legislature, but is this something the legislature needs
- 34:07to take a look at and say, look, we want to see these
- 34:10kids in person. We want to we want to maybe we want to see
- 34:15these kids in person. We want to see their their tracking a forum,
- 34:21an email is not going to cut it. We want to see them in
- 34:22person. But then you also go back to the situations where we started this
- 34:27conversation Dow again, which is we don't have enough people. Yeah, that's
- 34:30so, and so who is going to be the person that goes and visits
- 34:34homeschooling mom Kaylee Young's house to see if she's doing what she's supposed to be
- 34:37doing Who, I mean, who are we going to send out? Yeah,
- 34:38I don't know. I've even thought that maybe they, maybe homeschooling parents
- 34:42could just turn in like a well visit from a doctor, because doctors are
- 34:45mandatory reporters, and kids are all going to a pediatrician. So maybe that's
- 34:49the way to not intrude on their homes and their lives. I don't know
- 34:52the answer, but I think that's a conversation we should all be having together.
- 34:55Tech says, and I'll let you go on this one. I appreciate
- 34:58DELI get young. It's been watching the and See convention. I just watched
- 35:01half of Jim Justice's speech. Guys, thank you, though, what are
- 35:05your thoughts on Amber Rose and only fans, porn star and Satan a sympathizer

- 35:13don't have a lot of thoughts on her. I think didn't she wasn't she
- 35:15engaged to Kanye West. I had no idea who she were. My only
- 35:19thoughts. Quite frankly, I had never heard her until I saw her on
- 35:22the convention the other night. I didn't really care enough to so, yeah,
- 35:24I don't you have no thoughts, A few thoughts, all right,
- 35:28I got you. So do you have opposition? And I do, yeah,
- 35:30same guys last time, Okay, and it was a tight race and
- 35:32it's going to be a tight race again. I'm very worried that folks aren't
- 35:36going to come out to vote because I think with Trump as an almost forgone
- 35:40conclusion in West Virginia that it doesn't incentivize really anyone to come out. So
- 35:45I'm concerned. I mean, so, what's was a campaign plan? And
- 35:49by the way, your opposition is always welcome on the show, and I'm
- 35:52equal time, you know, as they're welcome on the show anytime, and
- 35:55we'll have them. I'll have both. We'll have you on as a candidate
- 35:59as we get closer to the election, as will we have your opponent.
- 36:01But what's the plan like for the rest of the summer. I mean,
- 36:04are you are you campaigning already or are you just I'm not campaigning. You're
- 36:07always campaigning there, No, I'm not always campaigning. It's summer. I
- 36:10think people want to break. I think it feels like summer's been so politically
- 36:14charged. The whole thing has been because it's either something's going on in West
- 36:16Virginia, or it's going on nationally or both and just been tiring. But
- 36:21no, I think people get the summer off and then around there for day
- 36:23we start back up, including myself my kids. You know it's hard on
- 36:27them too, so we take some time off. Well, you gotta have

- 39:47Historically pro lifers love violence as a text. I was talking to somebody

- 40:00guess maybe this kind of flew under my radar a little bit, but they
- 40:04were talking about that that, yeah, that there was something to that that
- 40:07I guess the national platform. Uh, there was some talk. And again
- 40:12somebody can call me or text me tell me if I'm wrong, but there
- 40:14was some talk that some people within the Republican Party were apparently upset with Donald
- 40:20Trump because he kind of had his hands on the platform and and the choice
- 40:24of JD. Vance as a as the vice president for Donald Trump. Trump
- 40:30and Vance are in different places when it comes to the abortion issue. I
- 40:36mean, you know, whether you agree or disagree, JD. Vance is
- 40:42is much much much much more uh to the pro life side, one hundred
- 40:47percent than what Donald Trump is. Now what I mean by that is is,
- 40:52you know JD. Vance has basically has come out and said I don't
- 40:54know whether he's speaking I think tonight. So We'll see whether he if he
- 41:00addresses it, all changes. But jd Vance is one that said abortion should
- 41:04only only be an issue in the life of the mother is in peril.
- 41:09That's the only way in the world of jd Vance. So rape incests not
- 41:15a thing according to jd Vance. He and Trump aren't exactly the same page.
- 41:19But yeah, I have heard some intel from some of my friends in
- 41:21the National Republican Party that a few of them we're not very happy with former
- 41:24President Trump because of his view They don't. I mean, you know,
- 41:29Trump was a was a pro choice guy. Remember that it's also a Democrat,
- 41:34and that there are people that are, you know, a little bit
- 41:37they'd like to see him take a different type tone. But now Nicki Haley,
- 41:42you know, last night trying to be a unifier, you know,
- 41:45saying you don't have to agree with Donald Trump on everything. That was a

- 48:01And Uh. We've had a great time with it. Uh And it
- 48:05was just kind of an idea. And of course we brought Steve Animal out
- 48:07of the off Balls for the show. But from Steve and myself and and
- 48:10UH and Hollywood, Jeff Patty and the other Jeffley of two Jeff's on the

- 48:17uh and from Amy Ryan and everybody, thank you for listening to the Mountain.
- 48:22It's it's been a labor of love success. It's been a success beyond

- 48:46let's just say he didn't make quite an impact, but we know he would,
- 48:51especially with baby dog in tow. David Beard of the Dominion Post out
- 48:54of Morgantown has a recap this morning posted at wv Metro News dot com.
- 48:59The governor taking uh uh taking the time to praise former President Trump and UH
- 49:05and I kind of talked a little bit about this earlier. I will say
- 49:08that unlike a lot of the other speakers last night and the night before,
- 49:14the Governor UH did not really used at all the opportunity to talk about his
- 49:20own race for Senate. He's got He's facing Democratic Wheeling Mayor Glenn Elliott in
- 49:24the general election. Uh, and it's delicate. Young mentioned One thing that
- 49:28did not set well with some was when he said, and again the quote,
- 49:31was we become totally unhinged if Donald Trump is not elected in November.
- 49:37End quote. So I guess so much for what I said yesterday about the
- 49:43first day theme. Uh, kind of down and down the rhetoric. And
- 49:47and look, you you know me, I am the ultimate free speech gap.
- 49:53But I'm not and I'm not one two second guests the governor. Uh,
- 49:59but I'm not so sure language like that is what we need, not
- 50:04a snowflake that says, you know, or mined stretch of the imagination.
- 50:07I just don't know that I would have said that. But again the othernor
- 50:12kind of does his own thing, and that's why people love him. And
- 50:16on the other side, there are also those that are saying that if Trump
- 50:22is re elected, it's the end of the world as we know it.
- 50:24To quote ri Em and you know what I've said, there was a country
- 50:31before Donald Trump, despite what he may think, and there will be a
- 50:36country after him or Joe Biden I will or whomever the Democrats, but maybe
- 50:44by that talk's kind of kind of been, you know, put on the
- 50:46backburner for a while. I will say it again. I want to think
- 50:51and hope and pray that the country that survived the Civil War, two major
- 50:55World Wars, the sixties, the turbulance there nine to eleven, etcetera.
- 50:59I want to think we can survive the next few months and what hopefully will
- 51:02be a peaceful inauguration and transfer of power if there is a transfer of power,
- 51:07if there is, and there may not be, whatever happens come election
- 51:12Day and then by January, I hope we get through this. The RNC
- 51:15Republican National Convention will continue tonight. If you can't watch it or you want
- 51:22the ABC coverage, we provide it for you, and of course Sahapi will
- 51:27continue the RNC talk coming up at ten oh six. I will say,
- 51:30I'm looking forward to to watching the Democrat National Convention, which will be held
- 51:37August of nineteenth through Thursday of the twenty second of August in Chicago. I
- 51:43just think it's going to be interesting to compare and contrast the two They may
- 51:45be more alike than you think. I mean, not obviously on their ideals
- 51:50or anything like that, but they may be more alike as far as what
- 51:53they the tone, you know. And again we're only at the halfway point
- 51:59of the rn C, which got a vice presidential pick jd Vance coming up
- 52:02tonight, among others, and then of course the president tomorrow night. And
- 52:07have you noticed that since the tenth on the Life of former President Trump on
- 52:08Saturday? Have you noticed that everyone that suddenly was an expert on dementia,
- 52:13old age and Alzheimer's and the like as it pertains to President Biden or now
- 52:15experts on CE Secret Service protocol. And as Delegate Young and I talked about
- 52:22there, obviously something went horribly horribly wrong on Saturday. And I think we're
- 52:29going to have to take a very very close look at this moving forward.
- 52:34And I was gonna say, que the conspiracy theories, but you know they're
- 52:37already out there. You already know, you already know them. I'm not
- 52:39going to further them, but you already know what they are. But Dave
