- 0:05Welcome to The Hypnotist, the show that gives you inside
- 0:09access to cutting edge hypnosis with real clients facing
- 0:12genuine. Issues.
- 0:13Brought to you by The Hypnotherapist, demanded by
- 0:16celebrities CE OS and even royalty Adam Cox, these
- 0:21recordings took place live from Evans Clinic in London's world
- 0:24famous Harley Street. So get yourself comfortable and
- 0:31enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 0:39Hi, it's Adam here, and you're about to listen to a hypnosis
- 0:44session that I created for a client that is in the helping
- 0:48profession. They wanted to help individuals
- 0:52to become empowered and independent.
- 0:56So you can have people that are fiercely independent but
- 0:59actually not really aligned in that independence.
- 1:03They just become a solitary and detached from people.
- 1:05When people are independent in an empowered way, it just means
- 1:09they're not reliant or dependent on other people or other
- 1:12structures and systems. It means they get to thrive even
- 1:16when they're working by themself.
- 1:17And this client really was passionate about that.
- 1:21The problem that they had is that the way in which they were
- 1:24helping people seemed quite a complex, confusing premise.
- 1:32And when you have to explain what you do in too many words,
- 1:37people get lost. And what's really helpful is to
- 1:40have a phrase that becomes a catalyst to help explain what
- 1:46you do. In the same way that I help
- 1:48people in lots of different areas.
- 1:50But I'm known as a hypnotist, and that hypnotist word becomes
- 1:56an easy way for people to think, OK, this person can help me
- 1:59change. This client was not a therapist,
- 2:01They weren't a coach, but they did want to help people to make
- 2:06changes. So it does overlap with some of
- 2:09those modalities. But that's not who they are.
- 2:11It's not what they identified with.
- 2:13So I created a metaphor with them so that they could be the
- 2:17engineer of autonomy. And what that really means is
- 2:21that they are the one that can help design the blueprints and
- 2:27the structures and the systems to help someone go from being
- 2:32either entirely dependent on other people or feeling like
- 2:35they can't do what they want to do in the world to feel a sense
- 2:38of autonomy. And autonomy for me just means
- 2:41high agency. People live life on their
- 2:43values, on their terms and have a positive impact on the world.
- 2:46And that client wanted that. So this uses this metaphor of
- 2:51the engineer of autonomy to create an identity level change,
- 2:57but also links to this idea of congruency.
- 3:01And congruency is simply walking your talk.
- 3:05And unfortunately in the helping professions, there are a lot of
- 3:10people that do not believe what they're doing.
- 3:13They don't really walk their talk.
- 3:16I've, I've worked with nutritionists that eat very
- 3:19unhealthy. I've worked with relationship
- 3:22therapists that, you know, haven't had a, a good
- 3:27relationship and they're always single or they're always kind of
- 3:30jumping out of toxic relationships.
- 3:31So unfortunately there is this huge incongruency in a lot of
- 3:35the helping professions. And generally that comes because
- 3:39quite often the people are learning about a particular
- 3:41thing because they want to fix themself, but before fixing
- 3:44themselves, because they've got all that knowledge, they end up
- 3:47helping other people before they've actually figured it out
- 3:50for themself. So it also has congruent
- 3:53congruency built into this. And I think most people connect
- 3:56with the idea of congruency in the hypnosis session itself.
- 4:00I use the example of a personal trainer.
- 4:02You can have a very knowledgeable personal trainer
- 4:06that knows a lot about nutrition and the form of, let's say,
- 4:11exercises and not be living that themselves.
- 4:14But most people would see that person and think, if they're
- 4:17such a good personal trainer, why are they not in good shape?
- 4:21And that's a very valid question to ask.
- 4:22It's not all about knowledge. Sometimes it's about living the
- 4:27very thing that you represent or to use the Gandhi quote, to be
- 4:31the change that you want to see in the world.
- 4:33And there's so much value in that.
- 4:35So it's two key things. One, accessing an identity that
- 4:39is empowering. And secondly, holding yourself
- 4:42to the standard of concurrency. Now it's very unlikely that you
- 4:46want to be an engineer of autonomy.
- 4:49That's probably not the niche for you.
- 4:51But the overall premise of this is that you get to step into the
- 4:55identity that you want. So I would encourage you to
- 4:58think of what would be the best metaphor or the best label to
- 5:03represent what you would be doing if you were having the
- 5:07biggest and most significant impact in the world and whatever
- 5:12that is. I want you to think of that
- 5:14rather than the term engineer of autonomy.
- 5:17I want you to think of whatever that word that just came up for
- 5:20you or as a placeholder living life at your most congruent.
- 5:25Just think of that term and you'll still get a lot of value
- 5:28from that session. Now, it was created for an
- 5:30individual. Not all of the suggestions are
- 5:32going to be relevant to you. Ignore anything that isn't quite
- 5:36relevant. And if you like the idea of
- 5:39working with me directly, having something built and calibrated
- 5:43exactly to you, you can either check out my website
- 5:46whichisadamcox.co.uk, or you can have a look in the description
- 5:49of this episode and there'll be lots of links to resources and
- 5:52ways for you to find out how to work with me directly.
- 5:56For now, though, find a quiet, comfortable place where you
- 5:59won't be distracted or disturbed.
- 6:01Relax and enjoy the session. Take a deep breath in, and as
- 6:39you breathe in, breathe in that resourceful feeling of calm and
- 6:44relaxation. And as you exhale, allow
- 6:52yourself to relax, to position your body in such a way where
- 7:00you can feel even more comfortable, and to give
- 7:04permission to just let go of any thoughts, expectations.
- 7:15Because here, in this moment, breathing in and breathing out,
- 7:20there is nothing you need to do. Just allow new thoughts, new
- 7:26connections, new ways of thinking to take place, enabling
- 7:33you to dissolve any blocks and unlock any doors that are
- 7:44impeding you from a lovely situation where by you helping
- 7:51the world, you have more fuel for the mission.
- 8:00And sometimes that fuel will be enthusiasm, but sometimes that
- 8:05fuel will be financial resources.
- 8:09That's all. Money is fuel.
- 8:13Where that fuel takes you is down to you.
- 8:19So as you breathe in and breathe out, I wonder if you can use the
- 8:25power of your imagination to imagine a 1000 piece puzzle.
- 8:36I want you to imagine a picture on the front of a box of a
- 8:41cottage by the ocean and just stare at the picture.
- 8:49Maybe it's of a cottage window, or the sky, or the sea or a tree
- 8:57or a fence or the grass or the path and focus on it so intently
- 9:08that just like when you read a good book, you could imagine
- 9:14being within it. That's what art is, after all.
- 9:22It allows the individual to make it their own.
- 9:28And I wonder if you could imagine walking up a pathway to
- 9:32the front door of a cottage by the sea and imagine it's a sunny
- 9:43day, blue skies. And I wonder if you could
- 9:48imagine what it would feel like to be standing right in front of
- 9:55the door. Maybe you can hear that, see in
- 10:04the distance or feel a breeze on your skin.
- 10:11And as you stand in front of the door to that cottage, I want you
- 10:16to imagine that you are holding the key that unlocks that front
- 10:20door. And as I countdown from 5 to 1,
- 10:27you will imagine unlocking the door, opening the door and
- 10:34walking into the cottage, 5 Putting the key in the lock and
- 10:44turning it, 4 hearing it Click to signify that the front door
- 10:51is now unlocked, three turning the handle and pulling the door
- 10:57open, 2 walking through the doorway, and one closing the
- 11:07door behind you. And I want you to find somewhere
- 11:13in that cottage that would be cozy and comfortable, the kind
- 11:20of place that you could drift off into a dreamlike sleep,
- 11:24maybe a sofa or a chair or a bed or somewhere else.
- 11:32And just imagine placing you there, in that place by the sea.
- 11:40Not just a quiet cottage, but your cottage positioned exactly
- 11:46where it needs to be. As you drift into that dreamlike
- 11:51sleep, imagine hearing the waves.
- 11:55Steady, consistent, never rushing, never forcing, just
- 12:01doing what they do naturally, and just feel how at home you
- 12:11feel there in that cottage. There is no urgency here, no
- 12:17pressure, although there is a direction and everything in the
- 12:24cottage exists by design. It almost feels like a space
- 12:31that reflects you. Simple, intentional, aligned.
- 12:39Everything you need and nothing you don't.
- 12:45And as you connect to that space, I want you to imagine,
- 12:51what if this isn't just a cottage?
- 12:55What if it's your own fortress? A control room?
- 13:00A place where strategic decisions are made, A place
- 13:05where direction is chosen, A place where life itself is
- 13:11engineered. I want you to imagine drifting
- 13:16into a dream within a dream, but still in the cottage, seeing you
- 13:20fast asleep in that place. And I wonder if you can discover
- 13:28a set of blueprints, detailed, precise, not of a building, but
- 13:36of a future life. And you realize that most people
- 13:43live inside structures they didn't design borrowed beliefs,
- 13:50unconscious patterns, external systems, dependency on others.
- 13:58And because of that, they wait perhaps for permission, maybe
- 14:05they wait for clarity, maybe they wait for certainty.
- 14:12But in this cottage that is not you, you're connecting to an
- 14:20idea much more deeper and profound.
- 14:26That autonomy is not something you are given.
- 14:32It is engineered. And I wonder what that word
- 14:39means to you, to engineer autonomy.
- 14:49Imagine staring into those blueprints for your future life
- 14:55and begin to recognise the signature.
- 15:00Your name. Your name is there on the
- 15:06blueprints, and they don't have to be architectural blueprints.
- 15:09These might be engineering blueprints.
- 15:14Every machine, every model is planned before it is built, and
- 15:22I want you to connect with an idea that you are the engineer
- 15:30of autonomy and not someone who waits.
- 15:35You're someone who builds, designs, refines what you can do
- 15:44for yourself, you can do for others.
- 15:48You are capable of designing and implementing independence, and I
- 15:56wonder if you can feel what that means.
- 16:01I want you to imagine how many people in the world are
- 16:04dependent, are paralyzed, are stuck.
- 16:12And what if you, as the engineer of autonomy, can free them from
- 16:20their own shackles, change the way they think, believe and
- 16:29connect? I want you to connect with an
- 16:35idea. But if you impact just one
- 16:42person to fully unleash their autonomy, the world is a better
- 16:50place because that one person that was stuck, dependent, held
- 16:59hostage to their childhood, their situations, their
- 17:02environment, by liberating them, they themselves will have a
- 17:11positive impact on the world. What if every person you help
- 17:20ends up helping 100 people or more through the ripple effect?
- 17:27Connect with the idea that when you help people take full
- 17:30ownership of their thoughts, their decisions, their lives
- 17:36without them needing external validation, external permission,
- 17:41external systems, What level of impact that could have on the
- 17:48world. Because deep down, there was
- 17:52always a mission to leave the world better than you found it,
- 17:59to leave a lasting legacy of wonderful things that create
- 18:04more wonderful things, to really step into that identity of being
- 18:12the engineer of autonomy. And that means congruency.
- 18:22That means being the change you want to see in the world.
- 18:27By living autonomy, you are the evidence that your ideas work.
- 18:40And the moment you fully embrace that identity for you feel
- 18:43something shift, knowing that when identity changes, beliefs
- 18:50and behaviours follow naturally, effortlessly.
- 19:00And if your mission is to help other people, to liberate them
- 19:07from dependency to independency to autonomy, you begin to see
- 19:16money differently. Not as something to value and
- 19:20not as something to chase, but as something that is a
- 19:24reflection of value. The tide follows the moon, not
- 19:34the other way round. Money follows value and impact.
- 19:42It's inevitable because when value is created, money responds
- 19:50automatically, and you realize the more autonomy you create in
- 19:56others, the more valuable you become.
- 20:02And the more valuable you become, the less you need to
- 20:06think about money at all, because money becomes a
- 20:12byproduct, not a goal. Notice something important, That
- 20:25part within you that used to hesitate, that over analysed the
- 20:31delay, that was waiting for the right time.
- 20:36I want you to imagine that part dissolving or shifting.
- 20:43Maybe it was built on a false assumption.
- 20:47The clarity and certainty is a prerequisite for actions and
- 20:53decision, but that itself means you are dependent on something
- 21:00outside of your control. What if true autonomy is knowing
- 21:06you have the resources to make decisions without needing to
- 21:12know everything? Because with it comes a belief
- 21:18that you can handle any situation as it arises.
- 21:25What if the clarity comes from the action?
- 21:29And what if conflict is not a signal to stop, it's a signal to
- 21:36move, to decide, to adapt and refine.
- 21:43Because movement feedback and refinement creates alignment.
- 21:53Your intuition will let you know if you're on the wrong path, but
- 21:59you never know if you're on the wrong path.
- 22:01If you never take a path, you do the thing, your intuition
- 22:08responds, and you become more wise and more valuable, more
- 22:14autonomous. Every time you learn, I want you
- 22:23to imagine a simple pattern starts to install itself within
- 22:29you automatically and without effort.
- 22:34That whenever you notice hesitation, allow yourself a
- 22:40moment to reflect but not to paralyze so that you can respond
- 22:47with action. Whenever you notice uncertainty,
- 22:51you can respond with creation, and whenever you notice delay,
- 22:57you can respond with ownership. Doing so means you'll be the
- 23:04win. Or you learn, but the
- 23:07willingness to do, to test, to check and refine autonomy is a
- 23:19self learning machine. Autonomy doesn't mean you have
- 23:24to get it exactly right on the very first attempt.
- 23:31Every computer you use, every piece of technology, became
- 23:37better by being refined from everything that came before it.
- 23:44If that occurs in products, it can also occur within a person.
- 23:52The idea that you have to perfectly design the perfect
- 23:56system on the first attempt is based on a false idea.
- 24:05Evolution is based on refinement, adaptation, not
- 24:11based on getting it exactly right.
- 24:17And I want you to connect. Connect with an idea that you
- 24:24within yourself are engineering autonomy until that autonomy is
- 24:33automatic. Like breathing, like walking,
- 24:35like the waves. And maybe an upcoming
- 24:41anniversary of when a business was formed becomes a key date to
- 24:50do something symbolic, significant, a statement of
- 24:54intent to express an internal identity projecting outwards to
- 25:04the world. Maybe a moment of a launch,
- 25:10becoming more visible, communicating, something that
- 25:18aligns with this engineer of autonomy, and you see yourself
- 25:26not waiting, not second guessing, but moving, doing,
- 25:31deciding. This business is not something
- 25:36you're trying to build. The structure already exists.
- 25:43It's an extension of who you are.
- 25:48The business is simply an entity that enables you to amplify your
- 25:56impact because you are the engineer of autonomy.
- 26:05And I want you to imagine the people find you not because you
- 26:08chase them, but because they recognise something.
- 26:15You are evidence of the very value that you are offering and
- 26:22they want that. The more aligned, the more
- 26:27congruent, the more impactful you are as an individual, the
- 26:32more those that also want that will seek you out.
- 26:40In the same way that you can have a personal trainer that is
- 26:45unhealthy overweight, but something communicates
- 26:53incongruency. People seek out the fit, strong,
- 27:00credible personal trainers because they are seeking someone
- 27:05that walks their talk. Allow your imagination to return
- 27:14you to the cottage, and I want you to connect to an idea.
- 27:25What if this is not just imagination, but it feels like
- 27:32inevitability? By you living your message and
- 27:42your value, you attract the very future that you desire.
- 27:49And if it's true for you, it's true for the people that work
- 27:52with you. And the foundation of this
- 27:56cottage is not concrete, It's alignment.
- 28:03And alignment always compounds. I want you to imagine leaving
- 28:11the back door of this cottage, looking at the horizon over the
- 28:17sea, and start to feel that this is not a destination but an
- 28:24internal standard. Connect with that frequency.
- 28:35You are the engineer of autonomy, and the more you live
- 28:42and be autonomous, the more congruent you will be working
- 28:48with clients. And then you return back into
- 28:53the cottage. See that version of you in that
- 28:56dreamlike sleep? Step into them.
- 29:01Connect with that version of you, enabling the future, the
- 29:06present and the past to collide in a fusion of possibility.
- 29:13And as you leave that place, you go through the front door, close
- 29:19it, lock the door, still seeing the key in your hand, and allow
- 29:26yourself to float back to the here and the now as you take a
- 29:31deep breath in through your nose and out through your nose.
- 29:39Wiggle your fingers, wiggle your toes, connect and calibrate into
- 29:42the here and the now. That's it.
- 29:46Starting to count to fully align. 123 waking up 456 more
- 29:52alerts 7-8. That's it.
- 29:53Open your eyes, Open your eyes. 910 Wide awake, Wide awake, wide
- 30:00awake. Thank you so much for joining me
