- 0:00Speaker 1: Speaking of bad football, why are we covering this game? Well, okay.
- 0:11Speaker 2: There are implications in the LSU Ole Miss game. There
- 0:13Speaker 2: are implications in the Florida Auburn game. There are some
- 0:18Speaker 2: implications in this one too. Here's my question for Clemson
- 0:22Speaker 2: UNC presented by prize picks. Does the coach that loses
- 0:26Speaker 2: this game get fired at the end of this year?
- 0:29Speaker 2: Or not fired, but like the coach that loses this game,
- 0:33Speaker 2: that's the referendum to me in Florida, Auburn. We're trying
- 0:36Speaker 2: to find out which programs ahead of the other one
- 0:38Speaker 2: early in 10 years. I think we're the clock is
- 0:40Speaker 2: winding on both UNC and Clemson and the loser of
- 0:44Speaker 2: this game is not going to be in a good spot.
- 0:47Speaker 3: No, but at the same time, you could still win
- 0:49Speaker 3: this game and find a way to still be fired
- 0:50Speaker 3: at the end.
- 0:51Speaker 1: Oh, for sure.
- 0:51Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 0:52Speaker 2: The, the, the inverse of like both guys not being
- 0:54Speaker 2: there next year is, is the most likely outcome. But
- 0:57Speaker 2: my thought is the guy that loses this one is really,
- 1:00Speaker 2: really behind the eight ball.
- 1:02Speaker 4: Who do you think needs this more, if we're just
- 1:04Speaker 4: being real?
- 1:05Speaker 3: Is it North Carolina because of you want to prove
- 1:07Speaker 3: that the fluke of playing against a team in Dublin
- 1:09Speaker 3: that has been a curse is actually not a problem?
- 1:13Speaker 4: Or is it Dabo because of we looked.
- 1:15Speaker 3: Awful against Georgia Southern right after looking awful against LSU
- 1:18Speaker 3: on the road?
- 1:21Speaker 1: I think it's Clemson. I think Clemson needs it more.
- 1:23Speaker 4: I think it's Clemson.
- 1:25Speaker 2: I think the cake is baked on UNC. Even if
- 1:27Speaker 2: he doesn't get fired this year, I think the cake
- 1:29Speaker 2: is baked there.
- 1:31Speaker 4: What if he just steps down? He's like, oh, I
- 1:32Speaker 4: went six and six.
- 1:33Speaker 5: I'm good.
- 1:33Speaker 2: Yeah, Dabo could save it. I mean, I don't know
- 1:36Speaker 2: if he will, but I think it's Dabo. Based on
- 1:38Speaker 2: the legacy, based on the history, it's got to be Clemson.
- 1:41Speaker 5: I think the possibility of Belichick resigning, like was just said,
- 1:46Speaker 5: is higher than him getting fired. So I've got two
- 1:49Speaker 5: of them to get fired. I would think it's probably
- 1:51Speaker 5: going to be Dabo, but I don't know. That's a
- 1:54Speaker 5: weird way to project it. Look, this is going to,
- 1:56Speaker 5: this game's.
- 1:56Speaker 1: Going to suck.
- 1:58Speaker 4: I'm sorry to say that for all the wrong reasons.
- 2:01Speaker 5: Let's go. We're trying to get people to watch and
- 2:03Speaker 5: stuff like that, but it's like, Hey man, like I
- 2:06Speaker 5: don't believe in Clemson's quarterback play. I don't believe in
- 2:09Speaker 5: their offensive scheme. It is so far made very little sense.
- 2:13Speaker 5: when they were clearly running into a buzzsaw against LSU,
- 2:16Speaker 5: they really didn't change course in terms of what they
- 2:18Speaker 5: were doing. Despite the talent that's on the defensive side,
- 2:22Speaker 5: where there are probably multiple NFL players, they're going to
- 2:25Speaker 5: need to come up big in this game because I
- 2:28Speaker 5: don't really rely on Clemson's ability to get the ball
- 2:31Speaker 5: to more in Wesco consistently. Like they just haven't proven
- 2:34Speaker 5: the ability to get them the football. So, and that's
- 2:37Speaker 5: their path to victory. Meanwhile, for UNC, I, I liked
- 2:42Speaker 5: how their offense was steady, I guess is the best
- 2:45Speaker 5: way I can say it against TCU.
- 2:46Speaker 1: Was it earth shattering?
- 2:47Speaker 5: No, but like it was steady throughout the game. And
- 2:50Speaker 5: then obviously they dealt with the run pretty consistently against
- 2:54Speaker 5: TCU and they found answers in the second half, which
- 2:56Speaker 5: was impressive. Jaden Craig was not as advertised. So I'm
- 2:59Speaker 5: not even thinking about that, but TCU wanted to run
- 3:02Speaker 5: the ball, ran the ball very well in the first
- 3:03Speaker 5: half and then UNC made changes and it was able
- 3:06Speaker 5: to stop it. So it's going to come down to,
- 3:10Speaker 5: Who makes the least mistakes, I think, in this type
- 3:12Speaker 5: of game? And I think you could see the score
- 3:14Speaker 5: balloon a little bit just because this is not the
- 3:17Speaker 5: most disciplined pair of teams overall. Where they are in
- 3:20Speaker 5: the ACC, I don't think anybody has great expectations for
- 3:25Speaker 5: either of these schools.
- 3:27Speaker 2: Hey, guys, I'll get right back to the show. But first,
- 3:29Speaker 2: I want to tell you about our friends over at PrizePix.
- 3:31Speaker 2: All new users there who play a $ 5 lineup and
- 3:33Speaker 2: win get $ 150 in lineups instantly if they've used code HMA.
- 3:37Speaker 2: This week on the Power 2 over on the College
- 3:39Speaker 2: Football Addiction main channel, we picked these picks that you
- 3:44Speaker 2: see on the screen. Mensa, Tony, Lacey, Leavitt, and Trinidad.
- 3:48Speaker 2: A lot of these can be adjusted. So we took
- 3:50Speaker 2: the more on everything, but some of us took the
- 3:52Speaker 2: more on Trinidad to have one passing touchdown. Some of
- 3:56Speaker 2: us took the more on him to have 1.5 or 3.5.
- 3:59Speaker 2: Some of us took the more on Sam Leavitt at 2.5
- 4:01Speaker 2: passing touchdowns. Kiwan Lacey has a bunch of different options
- 4:04Speaker 2: that we took the more on. You can take more
- 4:06Speaker 2: than 76. You can take more than 69.5. You can
- 4:09Speaker 2: take more than 39.5 if you just want to try
- 4:12Speaker 2: and play it safe. Malachi Toney at. 5 touchdowns. I
- 4:14Speaker 2: took the more there. You can go all the way
- 4:16Speaker 2: up to 2.5 if you think he goes off against Wake.
- 4:19Speaker 2: Go check out the PrizePix app. Take the more on everything,
- 4:21Speaker 2: but adjust it to where your comfort level is.
- 4:25Speaker 1: Go check out them. Go check out the live show
- 4:27Speaker 1: of The Power 2. Make sure you are subscribed. Now
- 4:29Speaker 1: back to the clip.
- 4:30Speaker 3: What I will say is that I have been very
- 4:33Speaker 3: impressed with the front seven of North Carolina. Whether it's
- 4:36Speaker 3: against TCU or against East Tennessee State, they've done a
- 4:39Speaker 3: really good job of making one-dimensional offenses. And that's a
- 4:44Speaker 3: testament to, I think, Bill being able to find talent.
- 4:46Speaker 3: That's a testament to what they've seen in the development
- 4:48Speaker 3: of talent. Xavier Lewis has been awesome to watch. He
- 4:52Speaker 3: has four sacks on the season. He had two against ETSU.
- 4:55Speaker 3: He had two against TCU in Dublin. I think that
- 4:58Speaker 3: Leroy Jackson has played really well. If you're wanting to
- 5:02Speaker 3: find a way to win this football game, it's taking
- 5:05Speaker 3: a young.
- 5:05Speaker 4: Quarterback in Tate Reynolds and forcing him to beat you.
- 5:08Speaker 3: And more specifically, beat you when he has the home
- 5:11Speaker 3: environment that could rally him on up in this type
- 5:13Speaker 3: of situation on third and long with two receivers that
- 5:16Speaker 3: are very good. Like, Brian Wesko and TJ Moore may
- 5:19Speaker 3: end up being underutilized just like Deuce Robinson.
- 5:22Speaker 4: Sorry, TJ, about that one.
- 5:23Speaker 3: But still, they very much could end up being underutilized
- 5:26Speaker 3: players because of bad quarterback play. That doesn't take away
- 5:29Speaker 3: the fact that all you need is one or two
- 5:30Speaker 3: big breakaway moments for them to go off. Tom brought
- 5:33Speaker 3: up a really, really good point that I totally agree with.
- 5:36Speaker 3: Bobby Petrino's offense right now is simplistically stable.
- 5:40Speaker 4: That's what you want. And there are some complex things
- 5:42Speaker 4: that you could.
- 5:43Speaker 3: Throw on in there with some play action and some
- 5:46Speaker 3: FTS moments of feeding the studs. But you kind of
- 5:49Speaker 3: are just saying, look, we're playing against competition that right
- 5:52Speaker 3: now is giving us opportunities to just get implemented good fundamentals.
- 5:57Speaker 3: And if we have good fundamentals, then as long as
- 5:59Speaker 3: we don't throw into double coverage, as long as we
- 6:01Speaker 3: don't overshoot a receiver to where a cornerback is waiting
- 6:04Speaker 3: on the wings, as long as we're able to run
- 6:06Speaker 3: the football efficiently with multiple guys, Demon June, Jalen McGill,
- 6:10Speaker 3: Benjamin Hall, you know, we're going to take those advantages,
- 6:13Speaker 3: win the time possession and walk away with points.
- 6:16Speaker 4: So I think that right now.
- 6:17Speaker 3: In this game specifically, you wanted to see Billy Edwards
- 6:20Speaker 3: be the game manager that we witnessed in the first
- 6:22Speaker 3: two matchups.
- 6:23Speaker 4: Don't put the ball in harm's way.
- 6:25Speaker 3: Target Jelani Thurman, the tight end, as much as humanly
- 6:28Speaker 3: possible to pick up first downs and put yourself in
- 6:30Speaker 3: position to where you can get field goals and walk
- 6:32Speaker 3: away with points. I think if North Carolina can do that,
- 6:36Speaker 3: North Carolina feels like it should have the upper hand because.
- 6:41Speaker 4: They won't shoot themselves in the foot with bad miscommunication.
- 6:46Speaker 2: What I wonder is can Clemson get anything? Tom mentioned it.
- 6:52Speaker 2: Can they get anything out of quarterback play?
- 6:54Speaker 4: Because Tate Rounds is starting.
- 6:56Speaker 2: Yes. And that is my concern. Like, listen, I understand
- 7:01Speaker 2: getting snowballed. I mean, you know, Clemson did that against
- 7:05Speaker 2: Georgia in 2024 and still went to the college football playoff.
- 7:08Speaker 2: They lost 31-3, 30-3, something like that. But that game
- 7:13Speaker 2: was close for a half.
- 7:14Speaker 1: It was different.
- 7:16Speaker 2: And Clemson's defense was a lot better that year. And so, man,
- 7:19Speaker 2: LSU jumped on them from the jump.
- 7:22Speaker 1: And so.
- 7:23Speaker 2: but I think we were all kind of waiting like, okay, well,
- 7:25Speaker 2: Clemson will come out and be Georgia Southern handily.
- 7:28Speaker 1: And we'll say, okay, LSU is maybe just elite. Clemson
- 7:31Speaker 1: had a bad game. Things snowballed. They lost confidence. I
- 7:35Speaker 1: don't think that's the situation.
- 7:36Speaker 2: The situation at Clemson is this just doesn't look like
- 7:39Speaker 2: a very good team and that sucks, but that seems
- 7:42Speaker 2: to be the reality. I wonder if Clemson fans are
- 7:46Speaker 2: at all. Love to hear your comments. If you're watching
- 7:49Speaker 2: this on the clip or the live Clemson fans, do
- 7:52Speaker 2: they want to.
- 7:52Speaker 1: Win this game?
- 7:54Speaker 4: I think so.
- 7:55Speaker 1: Or is it just get it over with?
- 7:59Speaker 3: But Dabo right now, we still have to realize with
- 8:01Speaker 3: that buyout, it may not be a foregone conclusion that
- 8:04Speaker 3: he's gone at the end of the year if you
- 8:05Speaker 3: go five and seven. So it's like, might as well
- 8:08Speaker 3: go seven and five if we're keeping him.
- 8:11Speaker 5: I think North Carolina wins this game because the points
- 8:14Speaker 5: I made before, I think their offense is more stable.
- 8:17Speaker 5: I think their defense is going to be able to
- 8:19Speaker 5: stop the run. I don't trust what Clemson can do offensively.
- 8:23Speaker 5: I think Clemson will put up a fight on the
- 8:25Speaker 5: defensive side of the ball. I think having this at
- 8:27Speaker 5: home is going to be an advantage for Clemson. There's
- 8:29Speaker 5: a very strong chance Clemson pulls this thing out. I
- 8:32Speaker 5: don't think it's going to be a really big margin
- 8:34Speaker 5: one way or the other, regardless of who wins. But
- 8:36Speaker 5: I think at least on paper, I have a little
- 8:38Speaker 5: bit more faith in what UNC is putting on the
- 8:40Speaker 5: field right now than Clemson. And even just like projecting ahead,
- 8:43Speaker 5: Clemson's got to go to Cal. Then they host Miami,
- 8:47Speaker 5: Charleston Southern after that. Then they host Virginia Tech. At
- 8:51Speaker 5: Florida State, nothing against Florida State, but that is what
- 8:54Speaker 5: it is. Then you've got Syracuse hosting Georgia Tech at Duke,
- 9:00Speaker 5: and then the South Carolina rivalry game. So it's like
- 9:02Speaker 5: the next handful of weeks are pretty tough for Clemson.
- 9:05Speaker 5: So this is a must win, I think, for Clemson,
- 9:09Speaker 5: just so you don't start sliding completely out of control.
- 9:12Speaker 4: Do you know what the line is in this game,
- 9:15Speaker 4: by the way?
- 9:16Speaker 1: Five and a half Tigers. Tigers.
- 9:19Speaker 4: Five and a half in favor of Clemson.
- 9:21Speaker 5: Three and a half Clemson.
- 9:22Speaker 4: I saw those.
- 9:23Speaker 3: So the line broke initially, I think at nine and
- 9:25Speaker 3: a half, and then it got down to five and
- 9:27Speaker 3: a half when it was announced that Tate Reynolds was
- 9:28Speaker 3: going to be the starter. It still is mind boggling
- 9:33Speaker 3: that that's the spread in this game. Like we're not
- 9:34Speaker 3: even throwing in home field advantage. The fact that Clemson
- 9:37Speaker 3: is still a two and a half point favorite in
- 9:39Speaker 3: a neutral.
- 9:40Speaker 2: So right now on FanDuel, it's three and a half.
- 9:43Speaker 5: Okay.
- 9:44Speaker 1: So it has dropped.
- 9:45Speaker 2: It has continued to drop because when I Googled really quick,
- 9:47Speaker 2: it said five and a half, but on FanDuel, what
- 9:48Speaker 2: you can get actively at the moment is three and
- 9:50Speaker 2: a half. And the juice is on, is on North Carolina.
- 9:55Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 9:56Speaker 1: The juice is on the plus three and a half
- 9:58Speaker 1: on the road.
- 9:59Speaker 2: When we saw this game, and we looked at Clemson,
- 10:01Speaker 2: we kind of thought like, Oh, well, Clemson is going
- 10:02Speaker 2: to be a little bit better team.
- 10:04Speaker 1: You know, they'll, they'll rebound a little bit. If they
- 10:06Speaker 1: can get anything out of the Xena, they'll be fine.
- 10:09Speaker 1: We counted this as a sure win.
- 10:12Speaker 2: I think the Clemson logo is probably what's carrying most
- 10:15Speaker 2: of that three and a half.
- 10:16Speaker 1: I don't even know if it's the Clemson faithful in
- 10:18Speaker 1: death Valley.
- 10:20Speaker 4: I don't think so.
- 10:20Speaker 3: I think it's the logo, and I think it's the
- 10:22Speaker 3: fact that you still have to see it from Bill
- 10:24Speaker 3: against a powerful.
- 10:24Speaker 4: Team in a conference game.
- 10:26Speaker 1: TCU stinks.
- 10:27Speaker 4: That may be it.
- 10:28Speaker 3: That may end up being it, is that TCU is
- 10:30Speaker 3: just god-awful and that we all oversold our stock on
- 10:33Speaker 3: Jaden Craig and the.
- 10:36Speaker 4: Hire the new OC. That may be it. We may
- 10:39Speaker 4: just be waiting for that. Final score predictions?
- 10:43Speaker 1: If we must. If we must. I think Clemson.
- 10:50Speaker 2: wins this north carolina covers ugly game 17 14 17
- 10:58Speaker 2: 14 tigers uh i'm gonna say 17 13 unc.
- 11:07Speaker 3: I don't believe in you bill belichick i don't at
- 11:09Speaker 3: all and i think you're gonna get fired at the
- 11:10Speaker 3: end of the year but you're not getting fired after
- 11:13Speaker 3: week three give me 20 to 17 north carolina.
- 11:19Speaker 1: Who put that in the rundown?
- 11:20Speaker 5: It was me.
- 11:20Speaker 1: You did.
- 11:21Speaker 5: You did. We all signed off on it, but I
- 11:24Speaker 5: was like.
- 11:25Speaker 3: No, because we all said let's get UNC fans pissed
- 11:28Speaker 3: off at Cole once again.
- 11:29Speaker 2: Yeah, I think the idea was more like the bigger
- 11:31Speaker 2: picture for Dabo and Bill as opposed to an.
- 11:35Speaker 1: Analytical breakdown.
- 11:36Speaker 4: We hate Cole. Let's get him pissed off. Come on, guys.
