Speaker 1: began to scan the area for threats. Believing the shot
• 10:23
Speaker 1: came from a rifle because of its sound, he looked
• 10:26
Speaker 1: for potential sniper positions. He noted a roof area approximately
• 10:30
Speaker 1: one hundred and sixty yards away from mister Kirk as
• 10:34
Speaker 1: a potential shooting position and rushed there to look for evidence.
• 10:38

• 10:49
Speaker 1: only slightly below The UVU officer climbed over the railing
• 10:54
Speaker 1: and down onto the roof. He then walked to the
• 10:57
Speaker 1: suspected shooting position and confirmed a clear shooting corridor between
• 11:01
Speaker 1: the position and mister Kirkse. He also noticed markings in
• 11:05
Speaker 1: the gravel rooftop consistent with a sniper having lain on
• 11:09
Speaker 1: the roof, impressions in the gravel potentially left by elbows, knees,

• 11:38
Speaker 1: and then low crawling to the area the UVU officer
• 11:42
Speaker 1: recognized as where the suspected sniper had dropped into a
• 11:46
Speaker 1: prone shooting position. After a short time, which matches the
• 11:50
Speaker 1: known time of the shot. The individual arose and ran
• 11:53
Speaker 1: across the roof to the northeast. This discovery led to
• 11:57
Speaker 1: an intense review of UVU surveys LNTS recordings to attempt

• 12:12
Speaker 1: with an American flag in its center, a dark baseball cap,
• 12:16
Speaker 1: and large sunglasses. Throughout the surveillance, the suspect keeps his
• 12:19
Speaker 1: head down and rarely raises his head enough to get
• 12:22
Speaker 1: a clear image of his face. As he proceeds across
• 12:26
Speaker 1: the campus, he's seen walking with an unusual gait. The
• 12:29
Speaker 1: suspect walks with a very little bending in his right leg,
• 12:33
Speaker 1: consistent with a rifle being hidden in his pants. This
• 12:36
Speaker 1: unusual gate continues until the suspect is seen crossing the railing,
• 12:40
Speaker 1: off the open walkway and onto the roof, where he
• 12:43
Speaker 1: leaves the camera's view. A camera later captures the suspect
• 12:47
Speaker 1: as he runs across the roof to the suspected shooting position.
• 12:51
Speaker 1: Immediately after the shot, was fired. A camera captures the
• 12:55
Speaker 1: suspect running across the roof carrying an item whose shape
• 12:58
Speaker 1: is consistent with a rifle. The suspect is then seen
• 13:01
Speaker 1: climbing down from the roof. He appears to drop the
• 13:05
Speaker 1: item he was carrying as he hits the ground in
• 13:08
Speaker 1: a control fall. He then picks up the item and
• 13:11
Speaker 1: runs toward the northeast and to the campus. All right, folks,
