- 0:10[SPEAKER_00]: I'm Jordan Alugo here with a Jaguars and Panthers Wednesday, week one, injury update for y'all.
- 0:17[SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguars just released the injury report.
- 0:19[SPEAKER_00]: Four Wednesday for both teams, we're gonna dive into it.

- 0:28[SPEAKER_00]: So, Carolina Panthers.
- 0:31[SPEAKER_00]: Ike Makwano, Ike Akwano, the Carolina Panthers starting left tackle.
- 0:36[SPEAKER_00]: He had an appendectomy last week, where aware of this, already knew that he did not participate in practice today.
- 0:44[SPEAKER_00]: He's listed on the injury report with an illness, which I think that's fair.
- 0:48[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know exactly what you're supposed to put when you have to have an appendectomy, but get your appendix removed.
- 0:55[SPEAKER_00]: He's there starting left tackle.
- 0:56[SPEAKER_00]: So he, uh,
- 0:59[SPEAKER_00]: is day-to-day.
- 1:00[SPEAKER_00]: If he's unable to play, I would expect to see Brady Christianson who has taken snaps for them in the past that left tackle.
- 1:08[SPEAKER_00]: He's a capable backup, but obviously they want Ikki Aquana out there.
- 1:12[SPEAKER_00]: He's a former top, you know, top five pick I think for them.
- 1:16[SPEAKER_00]: In the 2022 NFL
- 1:21[SPEAKER_00]: as Trable Walker and Company here.
- 1:24[SPEAKER_00]: Robert Hunt starting right guard for the Panthers is limited today with a foot injury and they're starting left guard, Damian Lewis, limited with shoulder and ankle injury.
- 1:36[SPEAKER_00]: Both of those guys are critical, I mean, all three of those players are critical for their offensive line and also critical for their run game in particular.
- 1:45[SPEAKER_00]: y'all just had corner back to Mario Mathes who is not expected to be a starter as a limited participant for the Panthers.
- 1:52[SPEAKER_00]: So, some pretty big injury.
- 1:57[SPEAKER_00]: Um, big names there for the Panthers on top of the fact that they traded Adam Thielin.
- 2:01[SPEAKER_00]: They had to place Jalen Coker on IR.
- 2:04[SPEAKER_00]: So you're down a couple guys that you were working with all offseason at Widersever.
- 2:08[SPEAKER_00]: You're down.
- 2:09[SPEAKER_00]: You're starting left tackle and you've got a couple guys on the mend here on the interior of the offensive line.
- 2:15[SPEAKER_00]: I would expect since they are limited participants this early in the week.
- 2:21[SPEAKER_00]: Robert Hunt and Damian Lewis and even tomorrow Mathis will be good to go.
- 2:25[SPEAKER_00]: Well, it came a corner would be good to go.
- 2:26[SPEAKER_00]: That's going to be the big one to watch here.
- 2:28[SPEAKER_00]: This week for the Panthers, we will keep our eye on it.
- 2:31[SPEAKER_00]: We will get another injury report tomorrow.
- 2:34[SPEAKER_00]: And a final injury report on Friday will find out like an hour and a half before the game.
- 2:40[SPEAKER_00]: If you came a corner, we'll be active or inactive.
- 2:42[SPEAKER_00]: And again, Brady Christians in their backup.
- 2:45[SPEAKER_00]: I believe he would be their backup left tackle at this point.
- 2:47[SPEAKER_00]: Does have experience at that spot for them, so not a big deal there.
- 2:54[SPEAKER_00]: You've got Buster Brown at corner who did not participate in practice.
- 2:58[SPEAKER_00]: You've got Wyatt Milam at guard slash tackle listed as guard, but he's definitely got that versatility.
- 3:04[SPEAKER_00]: Did not participate in practice.
- 3:06[SPEAKER_00]: Both of those come as no surprise.
- 3:08[SPEAKER_00]: These are players who, if you've been bang attention, they have not been practicing Monterey Brown, missed most of training camp.
- 3:14[SPEAKER_00]: Buster Brown, he is still working off to the side in practice, so they're trying to get him back.
- 3:21[SPEAKER_00]: They did not place him on.
- 3:22[SPEAKER_00]: short-term IR, which means they think he can probably get back in the first month of the season.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_00]: So look for updates on Buster Brown, potentially next week on making some progress towards getting back on the field, and then why at Milo and I would say same thing, several weeks ago.
- 3:39[SPEAKER_00]: He had a minor knee injury where they called it week to week with Wyatt Milum, so he's the rookie third ground pick.
- 3:47[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, they'd like to have him as depth right now, not going to be in the starting lineup, at least to start this season.
- 3:54[SPEAKER_00]: But those are your two guys that are not participating in practice right now.
- 3:58[SPEAKER_00]: And then Colvin and Lannan
- 4:00[SPEAKER_00]: who is a another versatile backup offensive lineman limited participant in practice with a shoulder he missed most of training camp but he has been spotted on the practice field participating in positional drills over the last week or so for the jagged so
- 4:15[SPEAKER_00]: That's your injury update, no big injury news for the Jaguars, the Panthers deal with it a little bit more right now.
- 4:22[SPEAKER_00]: Again, with that offensive line, no Jalen Coker at receiver, then to bring in Hunter Renfro, and he's actually going to start for them and get a lot of reps for them out of the slot, Hunter Renfro will.
- 4:34[SPEAKER_00]: Experience player in this league obviously Trevor Lawrence and him go back Travis ETN but that's the injury update.
- 4:40[SPEAKER_00]: That's where we're at Wednesday.
- 4:42[SPEAKER_00]: The big one to keep an eye on for either squad is Echem Aquano for the Carolina Panthers at left tackle.
