- 1:32Speaker 7: guys can tell.
- 1:32Speaker 3: We're so excited about this.
- 1:35Speaker 5: Team Swedish Fish hashtag Gosh, chack go hashtag go.
- 1:40Speaker 3: That's what we said. That's what we said before every meeting.
- 1:43Speaker 5: Hey' is the deep end for us? A little Swedish fish.
- 1:46Speaker 5: Oh yeah, because we're swimming. We're swimming and the fish
- 1:49Speaker 5: do as well. We're so excited.
- 1:51Speaker 1: Team Swedish Fwedish Fish hashtag go hsha go.
- 1:56Speaker 3: Okay, everybody. My name is Candy Fish of the Swedish
- 2:00Speaker 3: Fish Corporation but also of movie producing.
- 2:03Speaker 2: That's my girl.
- 2:04Speaker 1: Hey guys, I'm Brandy Sweedish of the Swedish Fish Family
- 2:08Speaker 1: in Corporation and of the movie.
- 2:12Speaker 6: What's up? My name is Tony T.
- 2:13Speaker 5: I'm not a fish, but I am part of the
- 2:17Speaker 5: creative team. Really excited to be involved, and I'm working
- 2:23Speaker 5: on the Swedish Fish movie.
- 2:24Speaker 6: Sorry, I'm a little nervous. And hey, what's up, guys.
- 2:27Speaker 4: I'm Doug and I am part of the Swedish Fish Movie.
- 2:31Speaker 4: No affiliation to the family, just one of the writers
- 2:34Speaker 4: and creators. I've worked with a lot of animated films
- 2:36Speaker 4: and I'm happy to dig my feet my toes and
- 2:39Speaker 4: my teeth into this one and.
- 2:41Speaker 5: My gills a little Swedish fish joke.
- 2:45Speaker 3: That's so funny. We and our family love love, love
- 2:49Speaker 3: to hear that. My sister and I love to hear fish.
- 2:52Speaker 6: You guys are sisters.
- 2:53Speaker 4: Yeah right, we are sister, different last names, but very
- 2:56Speaker 4: much sis.
- 2:57Speaker 3: We're sisters.
- 2:58Speaker 2: So I am, We're we're half sisters.
- 3:02Speaker 6: Yes.
- 3:02Speaker 1: I'm from my dad's side of the family, the Swedish side.
- 3:05Speaker 3: Yeah, and I'm from my mom's side of the family,
- 3:07Speaker 3: which is the fish side.
- 3:09Speaker 2: Before they got a divorce, they created this candy.
- 3:12Speaker 3: They created Swedish Fish, and we still own I still
- 3:16Speaker 3: own forty percent of the company. You own forty percent.
- 3:19Speaker 3: The rest is sprinkled amongst um private equity, so private aquity.
- 3:24Speaker 5: It's funny because I've actually read about when your parents
- 3:28Speaker 5: got together, well, your respective mother and father got together,
- 3:32Speaker 5: and wasn't the inspiration for the entire corporation, the entire candy.
- 3:38Speaker 5: It was because of the wedding announcement, correct, Swedish fish wedding.
- 3:45Speaker 5: And people saw that and said that sounds like a candy.
- 3:49Speaker 5: Is that correct?
- 3:51Speaker 6: It's true.
- 3:51Speaker 3: Everyone saw the phrase Swedish fish and they thought yummy,
- 3:55Speaker 3: yummy candy.
- 3:56Speaker 2: They thought yummy tummy candy.
- 3:58Speaker 3: They thought he thought sugar from Sweden was candy.
- 4:02Speaker 6: Are you guys Swedish? No, are you guys fish? No,
- 4:07Speaker 6: that's funny, that would.
- 4:08Speaker 2: Be that would be crazy.
- 4:10Speaker 3: But we do think that we could write authentically to
- 4:12Speaker 3: the Swedish fish experience. I think that that was something
- 4:15Speaker 3: that we were super, super super excited about and we
- 4:18Speaker 3: were so excited to work with because we're you know,
- 4:20Speaker 3: we're filming people. But to be able to work so
- 4:23Speaker 3: closely with something so affiliated with our family and to
- 4:25Speaker 3: be able to bring you guys onto the team, was
- 4:28Speaker 3: you go freaking weirdos.
- 4:30Speaker 6: You guys are stop stop.
- 4:32Speaker 3: Brains no, no, any brain work like crazy.
- 4:38Speaker 4: Well, we've actually worked on a couple of films before together.
- 4:40Speaker 4: We we do a lot of animated films together.
- 4:43Speaker 5: You know, a lot of animated films. We work with
- 4:45Speaker 5: a lot of different brands, a lot of different.
- 4:47Speaker 4: Brain We were just so excited to get in the
- 4:49Speaker 4: room to pitch you guys kind of our idea of
- 4:51Speaker 4: where we could take this story. You know, because the
- 4:53Speaker 4: Swedish fish, you know, people don't think a beautiful narrated
- 4:57Speaker 4: animated story about love, about brotherhood, about yourself exactly. But
- 5:01Speaker 4: we were just so excited to sit down with you
- 5:03Speaker 4: two and tell you guys, you know, this is the
- 5:05Speaker 4: vision that we have for your film. For you guys
- 5:07Speaker 4: to be so receptive and also get in the writer's
- 5:09Speaker 4: room with us. We were so excited to you know,
- 5:12Speaker 4: kind of beat this thing out together.
- 5:14Speaker 6: Oh.
- 5:14Speaker 3: We love doing punch up and we love doing punch up.
- 5:17Speaker 2: Oh a punch up, punch up. I love pitch. I
- 5:19Speaker 2: love a punch Oh.
- 5:21Speaker 5: The ideas you guys had coming in and you guys
- 5:24Speaker 5: and pinch me if if I'm lying, but you guys have.
- 5:27Speaker 3: Pitched me if I'm dreaming, Okay, pitch, pitch we have.
- 5:31Speaker 6: You guys have never worked creatively on anything before. Correct, No, nothing, right, no, No.
- 5:38Speaker 3: When you own forty percent of the Fish Company, at
- 5:41Speaker 3: forty percent of the Swish Company, you don't need to
- 5:45Speaker 3: do a lot of things for yourself. But we've always
- 5:47Speaker 3: been film buffs ever since we were kids. In our
- 5:50Speaker 3: separate houses growing up, we would we would call each
- 5:54Speaker 3: other on the phone and we would watch We would
- 5:57Speaker 3: watch the Parent track, We watch The Drip, and.
- 5:59Speaker 2: We love that movie because it was so different because.
- 6:01Speaker 1: We aren't twins and we aren't actual full sisters, right,
- 6:06Speaker 1: It's like she's my other half, yet she's a part
- 6:08Speaker 1: of another family. We don't spend a lot of time together,
- 6:10Speaker 1: and we live in different houses.
- 6:12Speaker 2: You know, and it's like a different that's what brings
- 6:14Speaker 2: us together.
- 6:15Speaker 5: Can I just say, I love you guys, and I
- 6:16Speaker 5: love being around you guys. That love the energy you
- 6:18Speaker 5: guys are bringing. It's so great.
- 6:20Speaker 4: It's so wonderful to also get feedback like that, because
- 6:23Speaker 4: I feel like when we walked into pitch, right when
- 6:25Speaker 4: we walked into pitch, we weren't expecting such a good reception,
- 6:28Speaker 4: and also so many notes right away exactly.
- 6:30Speaker 5: We were actually really surprised. We haven't ever worked with
- 6:33Speaker 5: a client with as many notes even before the contract
- 6:37Speaker 5: was signed. It was really surprising to us. But we've
- 6:39Speaker 5: actually found that it's been a really great process.
- 6:41Speaker 1: I find that everywhere my sister and I go, we're
- 6:45Speaker 1: told you're too much, you're.
- 6:46Speaker 6: Too much, And we.
- 6:48Speaker 2: Finally found our match.
- 6:53Speaker 3: You guys were ready. You guys were ready, and you
- 6:56Speaker 3: you know, I think our first big, big, big, big
- 6:58Speaker 3: note that we had was that we wanted to make
- 7:01Speaker 3: sure from a brand identity perspective, from a fish perspective,
- 7:05Speaker 3: all the Swedish fishes in the bag have different personalities.
- 7:09Speaker 1: That's because that is as my sister and I grow
- 7:11Speaker 1: older and learned to take the company in we regret
- 7:16Speaker 1: they all have the same half smile.
- 7:18Speaker 3: That is a deep regret that.
- 7:20Speaker 6: We carry for your parents.
- 7:22Speaker 3: They carry carry that parents, I understood were sad just
- 7:27Speaker 3: looking back at my mom's life and going the life
- 7:30Speaker 3: you could have had if you had made the fish
- 7:32Speaker 3: is kind of different colors.
- 7:33Speaker 1: Oh, I literally am like, mom, you're part of the
- 7:35Speaker 1: generation with snow White and the seven Dwarfs. How many
- 7:39Speaker 1: different types of personalities we have, sleepy, we have dopey.
- 7:43Speaker 6: What do we have in the fish?
- 7:45Speaker 3: One personality? And it's called fish fish?
- 7:48Speaker 4: So yeah, so when you guys give us the not
- 7:49Speaker 4: I mean, when we got that in the room, I
- 7:51Speaker 4: don't know if you'll agree with this, but I thought
- 7:53Speaker 4: we had no chance of doing this because you guys
- 7:55Speaker 4: were so on board but immediately just ripping apart our
- 7:57Speaker 4: first kind of idea of it.
- 7:59Speaker 5: And you came in telling us that kind of fish
- 8:02Speaker 5: personality thing right away before you even heard the pitch.
- 8:04Speaker 6: And so we were like, oh, they must, she must
- 8:06Speaker 6: they You know, we got to scramble now, we got
- 8:08Speaker 6: to scramble hard.
- 8:09Speaker 3: We were going to say, yeah, yeah, I think we
- 8:11Speaker 3: just had this sense that we knew what you were
- 8:13Speaker 3: going to say. A lot of people have that, Yeah.
- 8:15Speaker 4: We're going to do basically finding Nemo but Swedish fish.
- 8:19Speaker 4: But you guys wanted something.
- 8:19Speaker 5: Completely look and so that was our first idea and
- 8:22Speaker 5: we were going to do that, and just a little
- 8:23Speaker 5: inside inside us, I don't think we ever actually talked
- 8:25Speaker 5: shop like this, but you know, pitching to brands, we
- 8:29Speaker 5: have a lot of ideas in our pockets. So we
- 8:32Speaker 5: know how to pivot on a swivel. We know what
- 8:33Speaker 5: we're doing. We know how to turn, we know how.
- 8:35Speaker 4: To move, you know how to change, and we'll be
- 8:37Speaker 4: So it's kind of we do these like technique eye
- 8:39Speaker 4: techniques to know one wink, move to the left exactly
- 8:42Speaker 4: two weeks.
- 8:43Speaker 3: Sometimes we would give you a note and you would
- 8:44Speaker 3: just spin around a full circle in your chair and
- 8:47Speaker 3: then come back with the new.
- 8:47Speaker 6: Pic exactly yeah.
- 8:49Speaker 2: Kind sometimes as shimmy. When you guys were thinking together, yeah,
- 8:52Speaker 2: you kind of go.
- 8:53Speaker 4: Oh, yeah, enough interesting. That's all a secret language all
- 8:59Speaker 4: a secret language.
- 9:00Speaker 3: The thing about it, I got it. Yeah, I kind
- 9:02Speaker 3: of felt like I got.
- 9:03Speaker 6: Well you're in now now, you know, yeah, you know?
- 9:05Speaker 6: Sure what I will say.
- 9:06Speaker 5: So the first city we had, of course finding the
- 9:08Speaker 5: emel about with Swedish fish, right, and and you started
- 9:11Speaker 5: talking about oh no, no, no, no, no, you know one smile.
- 9:14Speaker 6: This is a big problem for you guys.
- 9:15Speaker 5: And then the second one we were going to pitch
- 9:17Speaker 5: was a rainbow fish but with Swedish fish, where you know,
- 9:20Speaker 5: all the fish are the same, but one of the
- 9:22Speaker 5: Swedish fish is different, and we pitched that.
- 9:24Speaker 6: We ended up pitching that, and you guys, I will say,
- 9:28Speaker 6: I've never.
- 9:29Speaker 5: Received such positive praise and such excitement from a client
- 9:36Speaker 5: that I was, you know, a potential client when we
- 9:38Speaker 5: pitch you guys basically rainbow fish but with you know,
- 9:41Speaker 5: a Swedish fish and of course a funny family.
- 9:46Speaker 1: You guys, because we had just we had previously right
- 9:51Speaker 1: before you guys had walked it. I think your appointment
- 9:53Speaker 1: was at ten am, Yeah to our nine am was
- 9:56Speaker 1: the Duplas brothers.
- 9:57Speaker 6: Really, yeah, that meeting.
- 9:59Speaker 2: That meeting was chalk on a chalk board.
- 10:03Speaker 3: Yeah, it was chalk on a chalkboard. That's a frame
- 10:05Speaker 3: that that's a phrase that we say on our separate families.
- 10:08Speaker 3: That means good, it means expected, it means.
- 10:12Speaker 2: Get out, it means get out, get out. All the
- 10:14Speaker 2: chalk is chalk, Get out.
- 10:15Speaker 3: All the chalk is chalk. Because we got a new
- 10:17Speaker 3: pitch coming in, New pitch, New pitch.
- 10:19Speaker 4: Wow, that's great to hear because I look up to
- 10:21Speaker 4: the due Plas brothers so much. It's great to hear
- 10:23Speaker 4: that you guys chose us instead.
- 10:25Speaker 2: You know, they didn't choose us. That's actually what happened.
- 10:27Speaker 2: They didn't choose us.
- 10:29Speaker 3: Yeah, we should be clear. We said yes to them
- 10:32Speaker 3: right away.
- 10:33Speaker 6: What was their pitch that got you right off the phone?
- 10:35Speaker 1: We couldn't really get them to do much because they
- 10:38Speaker 1: were like, we're taking this meeting.
- 10:39Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 10:40Speaker 3: The agent said, like, that's a nice thing. They thought
- 10:43Speaker 3: we were gonna give them some Swedish fish and some sword.
- 10:46Speaker 2: The thought maybe they'll do a spot or two. Yeah,
- 10:48Speaker 2: I said, we want to do a lot movie that.
- 10:51Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 10:52Speaker 1: We said we want to feature okay, and they said
- 10:55Speaker 1: someone missing.
- 10:56Speaker 3: So their pitch of saying no to us was okay,
- 10:59Speaker 3: they're doing a secret language thing, right, now we're what
- 11:02Speaker 3: does that mean?
- 11:02Speaker 6: We're good? We're good, really good?
- 11:04Speaker 3: What does that mean?
- 11:05Speaker 6: Both of us together are very good? Right now?
- 11:10Speaker 1: Okay, so we've been working together for like months, and
- 11:12Speaker 1: you guys haven't been outwardly doing this in like a
- 11:15Speaker 1: weird deceptive way.
- 11:17Speaker 2: And I hope we didn't say anything wrong.
- 11:18Speaker 4: No, no, no, let's get to the movie, which I'm really
- 11:22Speaker 4: excited to talk about for the fans.
- 11:24Speaker 6: I think that's where we need to talk.
- 11:25Speaker 2: About, brothers.
- 11:28Speaker 6: Let's go Swedish hashtag hashtag go. That's our hashtag for
- 11:33Speaker 6: the movie. It's hashtag g O go.
- 11:36Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 11:36Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 11:37Speaker 3: We were very excited to pitch that to the social
- 11:39Speaker 3: media department because they were.
- 11:40Speaker 6: Like, they did not get it at the beginning.
- 11:42Speaker 3: Yeah, switch up Swedish fish. Can I just supposed a
- 11:46Speaker 3: picture or TikTok of you switching up something in your life?
- 11:48Speaker 3: And we said no, we want hashtag go And they
- 11:52Speaker 3: said that doesn't look like it means they.
- 11:53Speaker 6: Can't legally own that. There was a lot They said, listen.
- 11:56Speaker 1: If you want to separate these fishes personality, to go
- 12:00Speaker 1: with something more specific, and we went no, hashtag can
- 12:04Speaker 1: I say?
- 12:05Speaker 6: Though?
- 12:05Speaker 5: The team over at the Swedish Fish social media Brie.
- 12:09Speaker 5: She is hilarious so we love working with her. We
- 12:12Speaker 5: love her sense of humor. She's a little dry. She's
- 12:14Speaker 5: very dark online, like shit, oh she.
- 12:18Speaker 3: Does smell joke in our family for years, our social
- 12:22Speaker 3: media woman that we have. Sorry, Brie, I know you're
- 12:26Speaker 3: about this right now.
- 12:26Speaker 1: Sorry, see it Thanksgiving at both my dad's house and
- 12:29Speaker 1: then later.
- 12:31Speaker 3: Yeah, both families just switch houses halfway through the meal.
- 12:36Speaker 6: I'm loving learning all about this is great.
- 12:38Speaker 2: Thanks.
- 12:39Speaker 4: I will say I love Bree's humor online. I feel
- 12:42Speaker 4: like her tweeting and replying as Swedish fish is so fun.
- 12:46Speaker 3: Yeah, we were really going for a Wendy's thing. Ye
- 12:49Speaker 3: saw a tweetings.
- 12:52Speaker 4: Yeah, I saw her yesterday. It was so funny. A
- 12:54Speaker 4: kid said, I hate Swedish Fish. She said, go kill yourself.
- 12:57Speaker 4: It was hilarious.
- 12:58Speaker 5: It was really she's a really unique sense of humor
- 13:01Speaker 5: and you look at it and you're actually really funny.
- 13:04Speaker 2: She's you know, in the nineties before she started. She
- 13:08Speaker 2: was when she first started.
- 13:09Speaker 6: She started the nineties, then adapted to online. That's great.
- 13:13Speaker 1: So when she was working earlier, she was doing more
- 13:16Speaker 1: of a Ben and Jerry's type engagement where she was
- 13:19Speaker 1: using the fish to do some politic change, and it
- 13:23Speaker 1: was like, don't listen to Reagan and we were like,
- 13:26Speaker 1: this isn't the fish in the numbers.
- 13:28Speaker 6: Don't listen to Reagan in the nineties.
- 13:32Speaker 3: It's got a lot of bad in the eighties.
- 13:34Speaker 6: And he was still talking talk.
- 13:37Speaker 3: Gab gab, gab gab gap and Brie was working really
- 13:41Speaker 3: hard to go with Ben.
- 13:42Speaker 1: And she's out like ships still she's like and she's funny,
- 13:49Speaker 1: and she's.
- 13:50Speaker 5: Really funny, and I just I think she's When I
- 13:52Speaker 5: got to know her at first, I was a little like, oh,
- 13:54Speaker 5: she's kind of hard to figure out. It's kind of
- 13:55Speaker 5: a tough nut to crack, and I think she's really funny.
- 13:59Speaker 4: Now, yeah, so hashtag go team, let's talk about the movie,
- 14:02Speaker 4: Let's talk about the.
- 14:04Speaker 3: Let's talk about creative team.
- 14:07Speaker 5: Well, you know, yeah, we're just really thrilled to unveil
- 14:11Speaker 5: this because there has been a lot of buzz about
- 14:12Speaker 5: what this movie is gonna be about, and so we're
- 14:14Speaker 5: really excited to talk about this here on this podcast
- 14:17Speaker 5: for the first time.
- 14:17Speaker 6: Exactly. It's a huge exclusive.
- 14:19Speaker 4: And just before we get into it, you know, movies
- 14:22Speaker 4: like inside out, which you know, really help kids adapt
- 14:26Speaker 4: and understand their emotions. Movies like you know cars which
- 14:31Speaker 4: help kids like grab the idea of loss helps kids drive.
- 14:34Speaker 4: It helps kids drive. We wanted to aim for something
- 14:37Speaker 4: very similar, kind of like that angle you know in
- 14:40Speaker 4: our movie. We wanted to add something that could teach
- 14:42Speaker 4: kids something about themselves exactly.
- 14:45Speaker 5: So Swedish Fish is about a little fish named little
- 14:49Speaker 5: Fish and he is a sassy young guy played by
- 14:55Speaker 5: Chris Colfer, and we love Chris, love crap.
- 15:01Speaker 6: He did things I could never think possible for anybody.
- 15:05Speaker 6: Hilarious and funny in his own way, like really funny.
- 15:08Speaker 3: When you get and really in his own way. I mean,
- 15:11Speaker 3: he is so funny in.
- 15:13Speaker 6: His own way, so funny, and you know what.
- 15:17Speaker 3: He can sing. The kid can mean.
- 15:21Speaker 6: They didn't put him on Glee for a reason.
- 15:22Speaker 1: You know what I mean. And the way the kid
- 15:24Speaker 1: sings has this weird knock knock jokiness to it, and
- 15:27Speaker 1: it's funny.
- 15:28Speaker 3: Yeah, he's a good own.
- 15:30Speaker 6: Way sounds really funny, really really funny guy. And his
- 15:34Speaker 6: motion capture work for Swedish Fish we did use so
- 15:37Speaker 6: we used the unreal machine.
- 15:38Speaker 5: We used AD, we used VR to capture all of
- 15:42Speaker 5: this motion capture, and it looks really good.
- 15:46Speaker 6: You know, we didn't just do cheap animation. We didn't
- 15:48Speaker 6: farm it out.
- 15:48Speaker 4: It's kind of like we wanted to do animation in
- 15:50Speaker 4: the mix between animation of something like you know, like
- 15:53Speaker 4: something like Finding Nemo and the animation of something like cats.
- 15:56Speaker 4: So we combine them both and the fish looks very realists.
- 16:00Speaker 6: And can I say, yeah, I mean, you guys, you know.
- 16:04Speaker 4: It looks like a real Swedish fish, but it really doesn't.
- 16:07Speaker 3: You could definitely tell it's Swedish.
- 16:09Speaker 4: You can tell Swedish, and you can tell it's a fish.
- 16:12Speaker 4: It's almost like a cod of some court.
- 16:14Speaker 6: You guys.
- 16:15Speaker 5: We came to you guys and we said, look, this
- 16:17Speaker 5: is going to cost us a little bit, and they said,
- 16:19Speaker 5: we want to spend more.
- 16:20Speaker 3: I said, put it all on red, which has been
- 16:22Speaker 3: our families joke for years.
- 16:25Speaker 1: Really, we joke about it all the time in both households,
- 16:28Speaker 1: in both households.
- 16:30Speaker 5: Okay, so it's about Chris Colfert little fish. Yeah, fish,
- 16:34Speaker 5: and he doesn't quite fit in with.
- 16:36Speaker 3: The fish, not at all.
- 16:37Speaker 6: So he doesn't fit in at the other schools.
- 16:40Speaker 5: Well, that's because he's red, and he's red, and all
- 16:43Speaker 5: the other fish are also.
- 16:44Speaker 3: Red, but in a different way, different though, you know.
- 16:48Speaker 5: He goes on a wild journey where he meets all
- 16:51Speaker 5: sorts of other delicious looking sea creatures and.
- 16:55Speaker 6: Finds out that the validation he needed was inside. We
- 17:00Speaker 6: have an amazing cast Grandma.
- 17:03Speaker 5: Fish, We have a Maggie Smith, Maggie Smith, pink Grandma Fish.
- 17:10Speaker 3: Yes, al Pacino as the puffer fish.
- 17:13Speaker 5: Al Pacino as the puffer Francis mcadorman, yeah, as the shark.
- 17:21Speaker 5: And of course, of course we cannot miss this. I
- 17:24Speaker 5: can't believe we got her. Addison Ray as fish girl,
- 17:28Speaker 5: fish Girl, and that is of.
- 17:31Speaker 3: Course a big thing that we pushed for. Yeah, that
- 17:34Speaker 3: you guys were a little hesitant.
- 17:36Speaker 4: On, were definitely hesitant. You guys really seemed to love her.
- 17:40Speaker 3: We needed a half human, half sweetish fish and they.
- 17:44Speaker 2: Needed a girl boss because she's a mommy's girl. I'm
- 17:46Speaker 2: a daddy's girl, and we like, we needed that, we
- 17:51Speaker 2: needed that.
- 17:52Speaker 4: Well, let's not forget about also another huge casting, James
- 17:55Speaker 4: Gordon as star.
- 17:57Speaker 3: Oh how could we forget?
- 17:59Speaker 5: And his big number and I want to bring this up.
- 18:03Speaker 5: I am so excited to announce here right now fifteen
- 18:08Speaker 5: original songs by BTS for this movie.
- 18:11Speaker 6: Huge fifteen went all out.
- 18:15Speaker 1: Finally we could say it. It's been insane when we
- 18:19Speaker 1: signed that deal.
- 18:20Speaker 3: And those boys are fast.
- 18:22Speaker 6: I mean we would get very fast runner and we
- 18:25Speaker 6: would get.
- 18:25Speaker 3: Them premises and then they would send them on back.
- 18:28Speaker 3: They are a machine.
- 18:31Speaker 5: And I hope I'm not saying anything too crazy here.
- 18:33Speaker 5: They actually sent us fifty five songs, were only using fifteen.
- 18:36Speaker 5: They get them out so fast, and I.
- 18:39Speaker 6: Mean more for the sequel. Yeah, more for the sequel.
- 18:42Speaker 4: Let's talk about some of those songs that got cut,
- 18:43Speaker 4: like Swedish fish Blue, which we said they're not blue.
- 18:46Speaker 6: They have to be read.
- 18:47Speaker 3: Yeah, they're not blue.
- 18:48Speaker 1: Unfortunately a brand know that, you know, we that went
- 18:51Speaker 1: straight up to Daddy, that went straight.
- 18:53Speaker 3: Up, and that went straight up to mommy and straight.
- 18:56Speaker 1: Daddy and Mommy are both sick in bed, so brand stuff.
- 19:00Speaker 2: At this point, we are like really coming into this CEO.
- 19:04Speaker 2: We're like both coo, but we are really coming into.
- 19:08Speaker 3: That as are in your crushing by the way, thank you,
- 19:13Speaker 3: We're about to We're about to get there. We're just
- 19:15Speaker 3: waiting for the go ahead for Mommy and Daddy to take.
- 19:18Speaker 2: Over go ahead, meaning nature taking that.
- 19:20Speaker 3: But in the meantime we are both the co chief
- 19:23Speaker 3: executive officers of the Swedish Fish Media franchises. Yes, so
- 19:30Speaker 3: we are very proud to take that on.
- 19:32Speaker 4: Can I jump to something else that I really wanted
- 19:34Speaker 4: to bring up, which I think is going to be
- 19:36Speaker 4: really interesting.
- 19:37Speaker 6: There is a big, big, big theme here of the
- 19:40Speaker 6: over pollution of the ocean.
- 19:42Speaker 4: Kind of half of the adventure is little Fish traveling
- 19:46Speaker 4: and figuring out how to clear out trash from his home.
- 19:49Speaker 2: Thank you, Doug, And I think that's another thing that
- 19:51Speaker 2: wooed us.
- 19:52Speaker 1: In that meeting, because Doug, you were the one that
- 19:54Speaker 1: went on a huge.
- 19:55Speaker 2: Whim, went out on a whim and said that you
- 19:58Speaker 2: studied abroad it in Texas.
- 20:01Speaker 6: I studied a broad aquarium in Texas.
- 20:04Speaker 4: I was I'm Canadian, So I studied abroad in Texas
- 20:08Speaker 4: at an aquarium in the middle of Tucson, No sorry,
- 20:11Speaker 4: in the middle of Dallas, not anywhere near an ocean.
- 20:14Speaker 4: But it was a fantastic experience for me.
- 20:16Speaker 6: I love to hear Doug's point of view.
- 20:18Speaker 5: I mean, we've made a couple really interesting indie movies
- 20:21Speaker 5: about his experience being a foreigner in America. But you know,
- 20:25Speaker 5: Canadian it's really really amazing stuff. We're not doing any
- 20:29Speaker 5: of that kind of stuff.
- 20:30Speaker 6: No, definitely not, and you don't even need to you know.
- 20:33Speaker 6: That's that's other stuff.
- 20:34Speaker 3: As we say, there is no nationality of Swedish fish nothing.
- 20:39Speaker 2: No, don't see color.
- 20:42Speaker 4: Swedish fish do not have any sort of color affiliated
- 20:46Speaker 4: with the nation.
- 20:47Speaker 5: Swedish fish don't come from a country. Swedish fish is
- 20:50Speaker 5: a state of her art, it's a state of mind.
- 20:52Speaker 1: I mean, look at us, we're not Swedish, We're not Swedish.
- 20:55Speaker 6: Well you are Swedish and you are fish.
- 20:58Speaker 2: Yes, that's my dad's nate.
- 21:04Speaker 5: Name.
- 21:06Speaker 6: Totally. That's hilarious.
- 21:08Speaker 4: That's good. We should have put that in the movie.
- 21:10Speaker 4: That is really good in the movie. I'm glad we
- 21:14Speaker 4: did surprise enough that is in the movie. Actually movie
- 21:19Speaker 4: that was can I can?
- 21:19Speaker 1: I also, I don't know if this is a spoiler,
- 21:21Speaker 1: but I do want to thank you guys for letting
- 21:23Speaker 1: me and my sister come in and do a couple
- 21:25Speaker 1: of lines a couple of fish.
- 21:27Speaker 4: Well, you guys actually had big moments as Frilly fish
- 21:31Speaker 4: and big big Tuna.
- 21:33Speaker 2: And I and I.
- 21:35Speaker 1: I'm I don't get why I was big big tuna
- 21:38Speaker 1: and my sis got to be frilly fish.
- 21:40Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't know. I think I think it's just
- 21:42Speaker 3: a vibe thing.
- 21:43Speaker 2: What does that mean.
- 21:47Speaker 6: A lot of we have a lot of together.
- 21:52Speaker 3: Okay, there, they're making some hand motions right now. I
- 21:55Speaker 3: don't know what that mean.
- 21:56Speaker 5: I want to talk about something really exciting.
- 21:59Speaker 3: Oh they're pivoting. They just spin around in their chairs.
- 22:02Speaker 4: Let's talk about the pollution in the moon. Oh yeah,
- 22:07Speaker 4: the toys are going to be going.
- 22:09Speaker 3: To be fantastic merchandise.
- 22:13Speaker 6: Burger King look out, Yes, burger king, watch your back.
- 22:17Speaker 3: From because the McDonald's Swedish fish.
- 22:20Speaker 1: Can you burging watch out? Because these happy meals just
- 22:24Speaker 1: got a lot happier.
- 22:25Speaker 4: These are making toys specifically for the happy meal at McDonald's.
- 22:29Speaker 6: This is a funny little cork, all plastic.
- 22:32Speaker 4: They're all non biodegradable, they are non recyclable, and they
- 22:38Speaker 4: are not edible.
- 22:40Speaker 3: And that is a choice to show people how much
- 22:43Speaker 3: of a problem that is, how much we don't.
- 22:47Speaker 4: Like that, we're trying to add to it to show
- 22:49Speaker 4: off how big the problem is.
- 22:50Speaker 5: I want to say you guys are it's so funny
- 22:53Speaker 5: learning these kind of independent, quiet cultural things within corporations.
- 22:58Speaker 6: Independent quiet for sure.
- 23:00Speaker 5: You guys have like very specific feelings about burger King, Brenda.
- 23:03Speaker 6: I think you have a lot, Brandy, Brandy, Brandy, No,
- 23:07Speaker 6: I Brandy, let me notice that.
- 23:10Speaker 1: Yes, no, and it's it's something I am working on
- 23:12Speaker 1: with my family and my pr woman to not be
- 23:16Speaker 1: so vocal about those things.
- 23:18Speaker 6: You post a lot about burger King because.
- 23:21Speaker 2: Well they're well they're dirty little bastards.
- 23:24Speaker 6: Okay what happened and they're.
- 23:26Speaker 1: Dirty, little slimy little bastards. And my sis helps me
- 23:31Speaker 1: let it go.
- 23:32Speaker 3: Yeah, Brandy, if we if we just breathe on it,
- 23:34Speaker 3: if we just think about it. I mean, I don't
- 23:36Speaker 3: think burger King meant to hurt you personally, and they didn't.
- 23:41Speaker 6: They didn't.
- 23:43Speaker 2: And thank you sus for calling me out and bringing
- 23:45Speaker 2: back to.
- 23:45Speaker 3: Of course, of course, of course, because what we really
- 23:48Speaker 3: have that's special is our company, right and comparison to
- 23:53Speaker 3: the enemy of joy. If we if Swedish Fish is
- 23:55Speaker 3: comparing itself to Burger King all day long, we're never
- 23:58Speaker 3: gonna be happy.
- 23:59Speaker 6: You are, you know, completely different companies. It's like you
- 24:02Speaker 6: feel like it.
- 24:03Speaker 2: Sometimes it's so not to compare. It's so hard, you know.
- 24:09Speaker 3: It's like comparing us to a Pet Boys. Sis, we're
- 24:12Speaker 3: different companies.
- 24:13Speaker 2: No, sometimes it's so hard.
- 24:15Speaker 1: Comparison is the thief of joy, folks, And I have
- 24:18Speaker 1: that written down on all my journals.
- 24:20Speaker 2: I have it written down everywhere.
- 24:22Speaker 3: And if you really have it written down so much
- 24:25Speaker 3: in a way that is concerning.
- 24:27Speaker 1: It's so hard for me not to compare myself to
- 24:29Speaker 1: Burger King because our little company, Swedish Fish.
- 24:32Speaker 2: Sometimes I see what they have and I wish we
- 24:34Speaker 2: had it. I wish we had drive through Swedish fans.
- 24:36Speaker 3: You know what I wish I had is the ability
- 24:38Speaker 3: to see this movie for the first time again.
- 24:41Speaker 6: Wow, that's so yeah. We had the premiere last night
- 24:45Speaker 6: at La Lie.
- 24:47Speaker 4: It's coming out in twenty twenty three. We have the
- 24:49Speaker 4: premiere last night.
- 24:50Speaker 2: It was absolutely insane, so long rollout, it's a lot.
- 24:54Speaker 6: You guys just couldn't wait. But it has to be wait.
- 24:57Speaker 3: And in fact, I'm not supposed to announce this until
- 24:59Speaker 3: twenty twenty four, but in twenty twenty six, The Sweetish
- 25:04Speaker 3: Fish Ride is opening at Universal STUDIOSO Conecting.
- 25:10Speaker 1: International success, international success, and I mean it's going back
- 25:15Speaker 1: to Elle Live really quick.
- 25:16Speaker 6: Last night.
- 25:16Speaker 1: I just want to give a huge shout out to
- 25:17Speaker 1: Panera Bread for that incredible spread.
- 25:20Speaker 6: That was awesome. All the Swedish fish soup. I love oks.
- 25:24Speaker 3: So funny that they did that. Panera has such a
- 25:26Speaker 3: sense of humor.
- 25:27Speaker 4: You would have thought maybe McDonald's would have catered, but funny, No.
- 25:32Speaker 6: McDonald's doesn't care.
- 25:33Speaker 3: So different.
- 25:34Speaker 6: Pano is so funny in its own little way. Very
- 25:36Speaker 6: funny company. It's very funny, very funny company. They need
- 25:39Speaker 6: a movie. Funny, they need a movie.
- 25:41Speaker 5: Look at them and you're kind of like, what's you know?
- 25:43Speaker 5: Like this is interesting? And then you're like, wait, bread balls,
- 25:46Speaker 5: that's really funny.
- 25:48Speaker 6: Yes, that's the kind of stuff.
- 25:50Speaker 2: Oh for their Christmas stuff. They're so funny.
- 25:52Speaker 4: Well can we just well, let's just go back to
- 25:54Speaker 4: the movie for a second, because I think the fans
- 25:56Speaker 4: are itching to hear a little bit more of the
- 25:59Speaker 4: plot secrets, wouldn't you say?
- 26:01Speaker 6: One sequence I really.
- 26:02Speaker 4: Want to talk about to the fans is the fishing
- 26:05Speaker 4: sequence where a couple of the fish get pulled up.
- 26:08Speaker 6: By nets and a line. Can we say this?
- 26:11Speaker 5: The net played by Jason Momoa and the line played
- 26:15Speaker 5: by John Cryer.
- 26:17Speaker 6: Such, you wouldn't ever think, yes, you unbelievable, you wouldn't.
- 26:22Speaker 3: We actually have a special sneak piece.
- 26:25Speaker 5: This is little fish Chris Colfer being netted by Jason
- 26:29Speaker 5: Momoa who's the net?
- 26:31Speaker 1: And John Cryer line, Okay, let it roll right, let's
- 26:36Speaker 1: play it.
- 26:37Speaker 6: Excuse me? Where am I? Hey, you're in trouble, buddy,
- 26:42Speaker 6: Get out of here? Whoa are you a big net? Yeah?
- 26:46Speaker 6: I am, but I'm the line? Oh boy, here he comes.
- 26:51Speaker 3: Here we go. You're coming with me? Kid?
- 26:55Speaker 4: No, no, no, you move aside, little line. It's a
- 26:58Speaker 4: nets job to pull.
- 27:00Speaker 3: Come on up with me, little Wait a minute? Are
- 27:04Speaker 3: you kind of an individual?
- 27:06Speaker 6: I'm gonna go.
- 27:08Speaker 2: Can't stop the feeling? Did you just dance? Dance? Can't
- 27:13Speaker 2: stop the feeling?
- 27:14Speaker 4: And that was the only BTS song we didn't use
- 27:17Speaker 4: original BTS song. We didn't justin Timberlakes can't stuff the
- 27:20Speaker 4: feeling from the Trolls movie.
- 27:22Speaker 6: We threw that one in. We threw that one in.
- 27:25Speaker 3: We got him to re recorded though it's a different
- 27:27Speaker 3: it's different.
- 27:28Speaker 4: Master always the master for this. So he's very excited
- 27:33Speaker 4: to put it in.
- 27:34Speaker 3: Yeah, he was excited to record it his way, without
- 27:38Speaker 3: the big troll movie influence, sort of deciding how he
- 27:42Speaker 3: recorded it exactly.
- 27:44Speaker 1: I think that was another nod to how much we
- 27:47Speaker 1: we the Trolls movie walked so sweet.
- 27:50Speaker 6: Fish could that's funny because of the because of the fish,
- 27:56Speaker 6: because we love the Trolls movie and it actually, you
- 28:00Speaker 6: guys said, it's the.
- 28:03Speaker 3: Okay, they're twitching. They're doing like third base coach baseball signs.
- 28:08Speaker 6: Like the cat and the slide slide, head down slide.
- 28:13Speaker 6: We don't like the Trolls movie that much. We hate
- 28:15Speaker 6: the Trolls movie.
- 28:15Speaker 3: And you know what, Trolls for Trolls World Tour walked
- 28:19Speaker 3: so that Swedish fish for Attack of the Swedes could swim.
- 28:25Speaker 4: Which is gonna be a fun little Star Wars Attack
- 28:27Speaker 4: of the Clones type of thing where all the fish
- 28:29Speaker 4: look the same.
- 28:30Speaker 6: And you're very confused.
- 28:31Speaker 5: You guys are gonna have to watch the other two
- 28:34Speaker 5: Swedish fish movies in order to get up to Attack
- 28:36Speaker 5: of the Swedes, which we've.
- 28:37Speaker 6: Already written funnily enough confuse it.
- 28:41Speaker 5: Can I just say and can I want to thank
- 28:43Speaker 5: you guys so much the fact that you guys have
- 28:46Speaker 5: bought four scripts from Doug and myself.
- 28:51Speaker 4: You scripts outlines because you do, guys, a lot of
- 28:53Speaker 4: the punch. Up again, you guys do tons.
- 28:55Speaker 2: Of the punch.
- 28:56Speaker 1: But it's crazy, you're right, I mean, we have invested
- 28:59Speaker 1: so much in you. We're also invested in I don't know,
- 29:01Speaker 1: a year long ad campaign to release this movie.
- 29:04Speaker 2: Slowly, but surely, you guys have.
- 29:06Speaker 6: Changed our lives in them measurable ways.
- 29:08Speaker 5: And I just want to thank you guys so much
- 29:09Speaker 5: for the When I came out here to Hollywood, I
- 29:11Speaker 5: thought I was going to make, you know, small independent
- 29:14Speaker 5: films that expressed my experience growing up in a houseful
- 29:18Speaker 5: of mental illness.
- 29:19Speaker 6: Yeah, and me as a Canadian and which is also
- 29:22Speaker 6: equally hard.
- 29:23Speaker 5: But now that we are just the screenwriters for the
- 29:28Speaker 5: Swedish Fish Corporation, I figured out my purpose.
- 29:32Speaker 3: And yes, yeah, yeah, yeah yeah. I mean, we were
- 29:36Speaker 3: so shocked that you had not been snatched up by
- 29:40Speaker 3: the Twizzlers movie. We were so surprised, and we were
- 29:43Speaker 3: so lucky. I mean, Brandy and I were thanking our
- 29:46Speaker 3: lucky stars for you, because you, guys, we wouldn't be
- 29:48Speaker 3: anywhere without you.
- 29:49Speaker 5: We were close for the Twizzlers very close, very close.
- 29:52Speaker 5: It was between us and Nia Vardopolis.
- 29:56Speaker 6: Wow, that just beat us out. Yeah, it's a great pitch.
- 29:59Speaker 5: Have you guys what they're doing for the Twiddlers movie.
- 30:02Speaker 5: It's my big fat Greek Twizzler. You have, Dallas, I'm sorry,
- 30:08Speaker 5: and you have the.
- 30:09Speaker 4: Twizzler is getting married to another Twizzler. But twister is
- 30:13Speaker 4: getting married to a man.
- 30:15Speaker 3: Is Greek to a man.
- 30:17Speaker 4: The thing is the Twizzler is getting married to a man.
- 30:19Speaker 4: But what the man doesn't realize is that the Twistler
- 30:21Speaker 4: has a big Greek.
- 30:23Speaker 2: Oh my god, So the Twizzlers are Greek.
- 30:26Speaker 6: Twizzlers are greed.
- 30:27Speaker 3: Yeah, but one of them isn't.
- 30:28Speaker 5: Can you but one of them is a twist Can
- 30:32Speaker 5: you guys imagine a candy having a nationality?
- 30:34Speaker 6: I just don't buy it.
- 30:35Speaker 3: I could never imagine that. That's disgusting to me.
- 30:39Speaker 1: We pitched crazy when I pitched to you guys, we
- 30:41Speaker 1: need these candies personalities.
- 30:44Speaker 6: And you may we loved it. We liked it.
- 30:46Speaker 2: Yes, to have a nationality.
- 30:49Speaker 4: A movie where all the fish have the same personality.
- 30:52Speaker 4: They're all happy and it was happy world.
- 30:54Speaker 2: Well, were you guys in the running for that Reese's
- 30:56Speaker 2: Pieces Hulu.
- 30:57Speaker 6: Yes, yes, we were. We were in the running for
- 31:00Speaker 6: Terese's Pieces Hulu.
- 31:01Speaker 3: It was only going to live on Social but.
- 31:03Speaker 2: It was Hulu's web.
- 31:05Speaker 4: Yeah, gone to pieces, gone to pieces about Reese's Pieces.
- 31:09Speaker 6: Family slowly breaking apart.
- 31:10Speaker 3: It looked really really, really really sad.
- 31:12Speaker 2: And a kitchen sake drama.
- 31:14Speaker 3: Yeah, we were at that for a moment, right, I
- 31:16Speaker 3: mean we were. We were talking back and forth about
- 31:18Speaker 3: what we wanted there. There was a point in the room, yeah,
- 31:20Speaker 3: like where we were heavily fixated on this sort of
- 31:24Speaker 3: head of Gabbler route where it was just sort of
- 31:27Speaker 3: like a Swedish fish alone grappling with her new found
- 31:31Speaker 3: purpose as a housewife, but.
- 31:33Speaker 6: Kind of a fish out of water. Yeah, yeah, literally.
- 31:36Speaker 2: Almost a mother courage and her children, yes.
- 31:38Speaker 3: Almost wow children.
- 31:40Speaker 6: Wow. I didn't know any of this.
- 31:42Speaker 5: And you guys, so you guys are really well versed
- 31:44Speaker 5: in veritimate family drama theater.
- 31:47Speaker 3: Oh yes, no, yes, I mean we in our I
- 31:50Speaker 3: mean hadda Gabler was big in our separate households.
- 31:53Speaker 1: Oh god, every like both Christmas eves, we knew that
- 31:57Speaker 1: head of Gobbler was going on over there and over here,
- 31:59Speaker 1: and I'll tell.
- 32:00Speaker 6: You they don't.
- 32:00Speaker 3: It was read a little differently in the translation, and
- 32:03Speaker 3: each one exactly.
- 32:04Speaker 1: And every Christmas since we were like five, what we've
- 32:07Speaker 1: been doing august Osah County every.
- 32:09Speaker 6: Christmas, every Christmas. That's such a Christmas movie to me too.
- 32:11Speaker 6: Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah yeah yeah.
- 32:14Speaker 3: Well, I mean we're, as we said before, like we're
- 32:16Speaker 3: well versed in film and theater, and that's why we're
- 32:18Speaker 3: so excited to do this. That's why because our parents were,
- 32:21Speaker 3: I mean, we'll be honest, I don't want to dampen
- 32:24Speaker 3: the movie in any way, but they were a little skeptical, right,
- 32:26Speaker 3: They didn't they didn't feel the need for a movie.
- 32:28Speaker 3: They said, we're a candy company. What do we need
- 32:30Speaker 3: this for?
- 32:30Speaker 4: And I said, you got to just don't get twenty
- 32:32Speaker 4: twenty one, twenty three.
- 32:34Speaker 2: Yeah, amen to that.
- 32:36Speaker 5: Seeing them at LA Live last night when when there
- 32:41Speaker 5: was a moment of silences, you guys wheeled in their beds.
- 32:43Speaker 2: And I want to thank the hospice company for I.
- 32:47Speaker 1: Really want to think that, I really want to thank
- 32:50Speaker 1: because went above and beyond.
- 32:53Speaker 5: We are actually writing a little web series for them
- 32:56Speaker 5: as a thank you.
- 32:57Speaker 6: We're sending as a thank you.
- 33:00Speaker 3: It's a speaky comedy, right, Yeah, in.
- 33:02Speaker 6: Its own way. It's funny in its own way. Yeah.
- 33:05Speaker 1: To get a hospice company to transfer to people to
- 33:08Speaker 1: la live for a candy.
- 33:11Speaker 3: Really just against the advice of every medical professional.
- 33:15Speaker 2: But money is money.
- 33:17Speaker 6: Yeah, you guys tell us that all the time, and
- 33:20Speaker 6: I agree. I mean, money really is money.
- 33:23Speaker 3: And we have two things written on our notebook. It's
- 33:25Speaker 3: comparison is the thief of joy and money.
- 33:28Speaker 4: I will say one one version of this movie that
- 33:32Speaker 4: didn't get made. It was our version that was kind
- 33:35Speaker 4: of like a sci fi opera, almost a Dune of sorts,
- 33:38Speaker 4: which I thought could have really worked.
- 33:40Speaker 5: Futuristic society. All fish have turned red and a gummy,
- 33:46Speaker 5: and the society is trying to survive on it. But
- 33:50Speaker 5: they're so hopped up on sugar that they are making
- 33:52Speaker 5: rash decisions and they cannot get their society right.
- 33:55Speaker 3: And we were very nervous about the sugar rush angle
- 34:00Speaker 3: because for us, sugar is good.
- 34:03Speaker 6: You guys, we can't show you.
- 34:05Speaker 2: I don't think it had to resemble to my sworn enemy,
- 34:10Speaker 2: Burger King.
- 34:11Speaker 1: They did a weird high concept thing with chicken fries,
- 34:14Speaker 1: their chicken fries concept.
- 34:18Speaker 6: Sky high Fries.
- 34:20Speaker 3: I think you gotta unfollow them. I think you gotta
- 34:24Speaker 3: do a Google like a like where you don't see burgers.
- 34:29Speaker 2: It's good to know your competitors. And I know that
- 34:31Speaker 2: they're not a direct competitor. I don't think they are.
- 34:35Speaker 2: They are.
- 34:36Speaker 6: I mean, if you think they are, then I'm going
- 34:38Speaker 6: to say, yeah, they are.
- 34:39Speaker 1: Think about the family that leaves church and they go
- 34:42Speaker 1: what's for lunch today? I think they're choosing between Swedish
- 34:47Speaker 1: fish and burger.
- 34:49Speaker 6: I don't.
- 34:49Speaker 3: I don't think they are.
- 34:50Speaker 2: Okay, maybe it's just our family. I don't think that,
- 34:52Speaker 2: maybe my family and your family.
- 34:53Speaker 3: Maybe that's just the dad's side of the things. Because
- 34:56Speaker 3: this has never happened in mom's house. This never happened
- 34:59Speaker 3: in and I think you know that.
- 35:01Speaker 2: I do know that because I'm a part of both homes.
- 35:05Speaker 4: Let's segue really quick into and just the biggest, big
- 35:08Speaker 4: thank you to our animation team in Soul, Korea. They're
- 35:12Speaker 4: working overnight to finish this movie on time. They are
- 35:15Speaker 4: amazing animators. So how a little bit of the animation
- 35:18Speaker 4: process works. A lot of the bass animation is done
- 35:21Speaker 4: in America at our big studios on the Universal Lot
- 35:25Speaker 4: and mo Cab capturing it and then a lot of
- 35:27Speaker 4: the translation, the nitty gritty is sent to these great
- 35:31Speaker 4: animators in Soul Korea, and I think they did such
- 35:33Speaker 4: a good job of capturing I think what sweet to
- 35:36Speaker 4: fish taste like in their an ANIMI.
- 35:38Speaker 3: Exactly, you can feel the taste in the movie. We
- 35:41Speaker 3: wanted your mouth to water, yeah.
- 35:43Speaker 6: And we did that.
- 35:44Speaker 5: You know, water is as much as the water that
- 35:46Speaker 5: the fish are swimming around in.
- 35:48Speaker 6: And what happens when I.
- 35:51Speaker 4: Is my mouth gets super dry and almost lax water.
- 35:55Speaker 4: My saliva starts creating extra just because the candy is
- 35:59Speaker 4: so hard, and and that's something I think they really captured,
- 36:01Speaker 4: you know.
- 36:02Speaker 3: Yeah, And the great thing about our company is that
- 36:04Speaker 3: the Swedish fish will say tasting good was never part
- 36:07Speaker 3: of the product design.
- 36:08Speaker 6: No, No, you can taste that every time you taste it.
- 36:10Speaker 3: And you could taste it because, yeah, as you said,
- 36:12Speaker 3: your saliva is working over time. We wanted a snack
- 36:15Speaker 3: that's worked well.
- 36:16Speaker 4: I heard it was actually they made it. They made the.
- 36:19Speaker 6: Snack as a distraction from the great depression. Is that true?
- 36:22Speaker 3: That was part of it? That was part of it.
- 36:24Speaker 3: That was part of it. Bag Listen. I think and
- 36:27Speaker 3: I could say I think that our family saved a
- 36:29Speaker 3: lot of lives that way.
- 36:31Speaker 1: Yeah, it was a part of the way they lived
- 36:34Speaker 1: back then to get their minds off of the current
- 36:38Speaker 1: struggles and do some like very you know, like very
- 36:43Speaker 1: tedious struggles.
- 36:44Speaker 5: God bless you guys. You guys are honestly, I would
- 36:47Speaker 5: consider you American heroes.
- 36:49Speaker 6: Yeah, because who knows.
- 36:50Speaker 3: I mean, if and maybe if our grandparents didn't survive
- 36:53Speaker 3: the Great Depression, who knows if if you would be
- 36:56Speaker 3: here or if if we would be here, you would
- 36:58Speaker 3: probably be there because you were going to and I
- 37:00Speaker 3: don't know what was happening up there.
- 37:01Speaker 4: No, we were We were fine. We were unaffected. Okay,
- 37:04Speaker 4: actually better off. Better off.
- 37:06Speaker 3: Well, that's great.
- 37:09Speaker 6: They call Canadian depression January in Toronto because we're sad
- 37:15Speaker 6: out there. It's actually something cold seasonal depression.
- 37:18Speaker 3: Oh okay.
- 37:19Speaker 4: You know, cheering a Swedish fish is kind of like
- 37:21Speaker 4: bark at the beginning and then snot at the end.
- 37:24Speaker 4: It's such an experience. Again, so chewing a Swedish fish,
- 37:29Speaker 4: you start, it feels like you're chewing bark.
- 37:31Speaker 6: You know, like a sophom.
- 37:34Speaker 4: Yes, and then at the end you basically feels like
- 37:36Speaker 4: you're chewing your own snot you know, like you've actually
- 37:39Speaker 4: sucked into much snunt from your your throat and you
- 37:42Speaker 4: start chewing it.
- 37:43Speaker 6: Oh, got it.
- 37:44Speaker 3: Yeah, we can't stray too far into that territory.
- 37:48Speaker 2: We can't describe them.
- 37:50Speaker 3: We can't have our product and snot in the same sentence,
- 37:54Speaker 3: and especially not at our press junket because as we
- 37:57Speaker 3: were saying before, this is a great movie.
- 37:59Speaker 6: We love the Swedish Fish movie.
- 38:01Speaker 3: We love the Swedish Fish.
- 38:02Speaker 4: You've got to come out to see it in theaters
- 38:04Speaker 4: twenty twenty three. This is a little preemptive watch this
- 38:07Speaker 4: in twenty twenty three for sure.
- 38:09Speaker 5: And we forgot to mention the big side characters that
- 38:12Speaker 5: we've introduced in here. Uh, they are going to be
- 38:15Speaker 5: featured in the Universal Studios ride. Yes, the Goldies, the Goldies,
- 38:21Speaker 5: Golfy Insanity, Swedish Fish Movie, Golfie Insanity is coming to
- 38:25Speaker 5: Universal Studios twenty twenty six.
- 38:27Speaker 3: Golfy Insanity and the Goldies are so great because the
- 38:32Speaker 3: Golfies don't make any noise. Yeah, they don't know Slate langqu.
- 38:38Speaker 5: And you guys can go ahead and describe what the
- 38:39Speaker 5: Goldies are, because you guys put them in last minute.
- 38:41Speaker 6: And didn't let us know we were really we found
- 38:43Speaker 6: out last night. We met literally last night when we
- 38:46Speaker 6: went to go see we went.
- 38:46Speaker 3: Into the Google doc and we like, yes, and we
- 38:49Speaker 3: wrote all our scripts on Google doc.
- 38:50Speaker 4: By the way, that those are the final scripts. We said,
- 38:53Speaker 4: we're all on Google doc.
- 38:55Speaker 1: We made them, we made them put it on the
- 38:56Speaker 1: Google Doc. And I appreciate you guys for doing that, and.
- 38:58Speaker 3: Thank you for doing that, thank you for humoring.
- 39:00Speaker 1: But we learned, We learned that rich people do have
- 39:02Speaker 1: a tendency of changing everything in the last minute because
- 39:04Speaker 1: we think it's possible.
- 39:05Speaker 3: We think everything is possible, and it is turned out
- 39:07Speaker 3: it is because the Goldies they're these little guys. They're
- 39:12Speaker 3: these purple little fish and they make sort of these
- 39:15Speaker 3: noises that go like like.
- 39:19Speaker 6: They sound exactly like that, because you guys did the
- 39:21Speaker 6: voice last second.
- 39:22Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 39:23Speaker 4: I also speaking of this, I really would love to
- 39:26Speaker 4: talk about, you know, give credit where credit is due.
- 39:29Speaker 4: Some of the punch up jokes you guys made and
- 39:31Speaker 4: changed without us really knowing were some of for me highlights.
- 39:35Speaker 6: They were so funny.
- 39:36Speaker 5: You guys are so funny away.
- 39:40Speaker 1: You know what I forgot to say is super funny hospice.
- 39:45Speaker 3: Yeah, in their.
- 39:47Speaker 5: Own their own way, they're actually when you get to
- 39:49Speaker 5: know them, it's like in the beginning, it's tough, and
- 39:52Speaker 5: you're actually you're actually really funny.
- 39:55Speaker 6: Very funny. You're actually kind of funny. Like that's how
- 39:57Speaker 6: they are.
- 39:58Speaker 1: It makes this team a team is that we find
- 40:02Speaker 1: things and people that aren't naturally funny.
- 40:05Speaker 6: Funny.
- 40:05Speaker 2: We found this, we found we made candy funny. Yeah,
- 40:09Speaker 2: and that's a feat.
- 40:09Speaker 3: We made candy funny. There were a lot of times,
- 40:11Speaker 3: I mean a lot of the things that we punched
- 40:13Speaker 3: up that we were so excited about is when Chris
- 40:16Speaker 3: Colfer's character would sort of look at the animated camera and, uh,
- 40:21Speaker 3: complete a pun.
- 40:23Speaker 5: Just the camera. We just say, you don't say animated camera. Yeah,
- 40:26Speaker 5: well yeah, it's you're right, and I'm sorry for correcting you,
- 40:29Speaker 5: and I'm really.
- 40:33Speaker 3: The camera that's filming an animated movie is animated.
- 40:36Speaker 5: No, you're right, I'm a dork and I'm actually animate. No,
- 40:39Speaker 5: I'm a do He's a big dork and we love them.
- 40:42Speaker 6: We love them so funny.
- 40:45Speaker 4: That was one of my favorite moments I saw last night,
- 40:47Speaker 4: and I didn't realize it until I saw it last
- 40:49Speaker 4: night that you guys had changed. We had written probably
- 40:51Speaker 4: three or four back to back jokes, some of our
- 40:53Speaker 4: favorite jokes. You guys made them better, I think by
- 40:56Speaker 4: cutting most of them and only adding one joke.
- 40:58Speaker 6: I mind saying that joke again.
- 41:00Speaker 3: Oh yeah it was. It was Chris Cole for Uh.
- 41:03Speaker 2: Why don't we Why don't we play what you guys wrote?
- 41:05Speaker 3: Yeah, let's play it.
- 41:06Speaker 1: Let's play a couple of these, right, we'll do like
- 41:08Speaker 1: three or four where you guys play the thing you
- 41:11Speaker 1: wrote and we'll play.
- 41:12Speaker 3: Well, we'll play how we punched it up.
- 41:13Speaker 4: This is James Gordon, Starfish and Chris Golfer meeting for
- 41:16Speaker 4: the first time. Honey, I'm no starfish. I'm just a
- 41:22Speaker 4: star no fish here. You don't see any gills or tails,
- 41:25Speaker 4: just me and the lime. Like wow, uh you want
- 41:31Speaker 4: a round of a clause.
- 41:35Speaker 6: Check please for this one. Let's get him out of
- 41:37Speaker 6: the water. I don't think I'm in my reef anymore. Listen, kid, Sorry,
- 41:45Speaker 6: and they cut it. They cut it, cut it.
- 41:46Speaker 3: Yeah, we cut that, and but then we punched it up.
- 41:49Speaker 3: To that line was actually, instead.
- 41:52Speaker 6: Of why did you guys play it? Just play it?
- 41:55Speaker 3: How about a round of some claps, please more Swedish fish?
- 42:00Speaker 1: My gosh, oh my gosh, what do you want?
- 42:03Speaker 2: A round of applause?
- 42:05Speaker 3: Oh my gosh, my gosh, why would they do that? Okay, yeah,
- 42:10Speaker 3: so we really thought the phrase, my gosh was hilarious.
- 42:14Speaker 2: And we didn't understand your a clause thing.
- 42:16Speaker 3: We didn't understand the air clause thing because it's spelled applause,
- 42:20Speaker 3: and so we didn't understand what that clause.
- 42:23Speaker 2: Fish don't have a clause.
- 42:25Speaker 3: Yeah, fish don't have claws.
- 42:26Speaker 2: They don't have a clause.
- 42:28Speaker 5: I starfish kind of have beaks, and so I was
- 42:30Speaker 5: thinking kind of when it comes to birds, birds have
- 42:32Speaker 5: beaks and claws, and so it is a little I'm
- 42:35Speaker 5: not gonna say it's the best joke, and I wanted
- 42:37Speaker 5: to tell you guys, actually, oh my gosh, gosh, oh gosh,
- 42:39Speaker 5: is so funny.
- 42:42Speaker 6: I really, well, here's another punch up.
- 42:45Speaker 4: Maggie Smith's Grandma Fish and al Pacino as puffer fish
- 42:49Speaker 4: having that little fun convo right before they send little
- 42:52Speaker 4: fish off.
- 42:52Speaker 2: Let's play your version.
- 42:53Speaker 6: If you don't listen, to me, I'm gonna blow up.
- 42:57Speaker 6: Here we go it again with your thing.
- 43:00Speaker 3: Okay, so we punched that up to if you don't
- 43:04Speaker 3: get out of my face, I'm gonna puff up like
- 43:08Speaker 3: a popper fish. Oh my gosh, oh go go go.
- 43:16Speaker 6: And it's funnier. It's so funny, funny. Yes, it's really
- 43:22Speaker 6: it's really really funny, guys, it's very funny, good stuff.
- 43:25Speaker 5: Can I just say, I mean, you guys should be
- 43:26Speaker 5: writing your own stuff, you know, like I mean, I
- 43:29Speaker 5: really we're happy to work on the script.
- 43:31Speaker 3: Without I mean, without your structure. I don't know how
- 43:34Speaker 3: we could make something like this.
- 43:36Speaker 4: We're just saying we're basically just putting Act one, Act two,
- 43:39Speaker 4: three x four x five.
- 43:41Speaker 6: You guys are putting.
- 43:41Speaker 5: A lot of changes in there. You might as well
- 43:44Speaker 5: just take credit, or you should at least you stand up.
- 43:46Speaker 5: You guys thought about doing O.
- 43:48Speaker 3: God, I've actually talked about it. But I mean, with
- 43:53Speaker 3: our schedules, it's a little tough. But we have.
- 43:58Speaker 6: Maybe in the new year, give us a joke, Give
- 44:00Speaker 6: us a joke. If you guys are working on so
- 44:02Speaker 6: we do sort of a.
- 44:03Speaker 3: Bod build thing. We're we're bouncing off of each other.
- 44:05Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, I'm really embarrassed.
- 44:06Speaker 6: Here we go.
- 44:08Speaker 3: Okay, which which which bit should we do? Should we
- 44:10Speaker 3: do the one about the should we do the Christmas bit?
- 44:13Speaker 6: I love the.
- 44:13Speaker 3: Christmas, say, sister, you heard the thing about Christmas recently?
- 44:21Speaker 2: No, I haven't heard this. So what do you mean
- 44:22Speaker 2: about Christmas?
- 44:23Speaker 3: Apparently? The trees up in flames.
- 44:25Speaker 2: Cobramo, Oh, club, Bamo club, mammo. I'll tell you something
- 44:29Speaker 2: I want to put up in flames of that Burger King.
- 44:32Speaker 3: Oh, my sister, you're obsessed with that Burger King, almost
- 44:35Speaker 3: as obsessed if I am with you Grant.
- 44:39Speaker 2: Oh, sister, you gotta stop talking about Grant.
- 44:42Speaker 6: I'll stop talking about Burger Caine.
- 44:44Speaker 3: No, sister, my sister, you better stop talking about Burger King.
- 44:49Speaker 3: I want to fuck you Grant, but I can't because
- 44:52Speaker 3: I'm a virgine.
- 44:53Speaker 1: Mary, you can be a virgin of want to fuck
- 44:56Speaker 1: your grand And I want to take down that corporation Burger.
- 45:00Speaker 6: That is so funny.
- 45:01Speaker 4: So you guys are doing kind of a thing different way,
- 45:06Speaker 4: didn't say, Oh my gosh, one time, very good.
- 45:09Speaker 2: We do it in our stand up it that's the Christmas.
- 45:11Speaker 3: Do it in our stand up.
- 45:13Speaker 6: I'll tell you what, I've never seen anything like that.
- 45:17Speaker 5: One of a guy you guys went up at clappers
- 45:19Speaker 5: or some sort of one specific like kind of classic
- 45:24Speaker 5: joke structure or.
- 45:25Speaker 3: Just saying you guys have to put that.
- 45:29Speaker 5: You guys have to put that up. Because I've never
- 45:31Speaker 5: seen anything like that. Oh we got I would have
- 45:34Speaker 5: you guys come over. I'd runtside a theater and have
- 45:36Speaker 5: all of our friends come and watch it.
- 45:40Speaker 6: Do you guys do stand ups? No? No, no, not
- 45:42Speaker 6: at all. We just we're writers. We're writers. We are
- 45:44Speaker 6: writers in time. Do you have a hobby, Well, I've.
- 45:48Speaker 5: Gotten really into gym collecting. I buy gems online and
- 45:53Speaker 5: all sorts of stuff. And I also just built an
- 45:56Speaker 5: uh indoor trampoline.
- 45:57Speaker 6: In my living room. Very fun right now, living room,
- 46:01Speaker 6: it's really fun. That's awesome to get way. It's been fun.
- 46:05Speaker 5: I mean it's been I can't wait to move out
- 46:07Speaker 5: of my one bedroom in Atwater, but it's fun to
- 46:09Speaker 5: kind of bouncey you.
- 46:13Speaker 3: Franchises. I think you're ready, you're.
- 46:17Speaker 6: Franchises, cats out of the bag, you're hoping.
- 46:20Speaker 4: Before we move on, I just want to bring up
- 46:22Speaker 4: one thing, and this is gonna be a big announcement.
- 46:24Speaker 4: We've waited right until the end. You guys, the very
- 46:28Speaker 4: big fanatic fans of Swedish fish are going to be
- 46:30Speaker 4: really excited when they see a couple of special people
- 46:33Speaker 4: in these movies, the very very unknown, special rare Swedish fish,
- 46:40Speaker 4: alternative spin off candies, the other candies that fall under
- 46:44Speaker 4: the brand.
- 46:44Speaker 3: Yeah, it's true, it's a family secret. But in the
- 46:47Speaker 3: factory in Sweden where these were produced, so they are
- 46:53Speaker 3: we do the outsourced not originally.
- 46:58Speaker 6: Easier now to do this.
- 47:00Speaker 1: Now, it's just because it just was. The mail was
- 47:04Speaker 1: the mail was a mess.
- 47:05Speaker 3: Okay, yeah, the mail was a mess what we were
- 47:08Speaker 3: doing in America.
- 47:09Speaker 6: So we decided used the male kept going to Sweden.
- 47:12Speaker 6: The male.
- 47:15Speaker 5: The box.
