- 0:45Speaker 1: Big X, The Plug.
- 0:46Speaker 2: Shut up.
- 1:04Speaker 1: Where'd you just come from? From Torrent? I'm going to
- 1:06Speaker 1: move this down.
- 1:07Speaker 2: Where'd we just come from? Louisville, Kentucky.
- 1:10Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 1:11Speaker 2: Yes, sir.
- 1:13Speaker 1: How was that? All right?
- 1:14Speaker 2: Yeah, it was good. Yeah. I mean, I didn't think.
- 1:17Speaker 2: Was it sold out? No.
- 1:18Speaker 1: No?
- 1:22Speaker 2: It was packed. 95%. Yeah, it was crazy.
- 1:26Speaker 1: They got a lot of horses up there too. I've
- 1:31Speaker 1: been to the horse track up there.
- 1:32Speaker 2: Yeah, I was just going to say, don't they do
- 1:33Speaker 2: like derbies and stuff?
- 1:35Speaker 1: Yeah. It's nice. Some of the horses are strong. Some
- 1:38Speaker 1: of them aren't that strong. What else has been going on? Yeah,
- 1:43Speaker 1: I was just up in Montana. We had some shows
- 1:45Speaker 1: up there. Met some Native Americans up there.
- 1:46Speaker 2: Okay.
- 1:47Speaker 1: You ever met any Native Americans?
- 1:49Speaker 2: Like a real life one? I don't think so. I
- 1:52Speaker 2: don't think so.
- 1:52Speaker 1: We met a couple up there. They're pretty cool, man.
- 1:55Speaker 1: We was up at, I met, we were at AutoZone
- 1:59Speaker 1: up there and they had a couple Native Americans up
- 2:01Speaker 1: there and we met them. And, yeah, they're just wild.
- 2:06Speaker 1: And they have a lot of good weed, too, a
- 2:08Speaker 1: lot of times.
- 2:09Speaker 2: Oh, okay, man. Yeah, I probably would have bumped into
- 2:11Speaker 2: a few if I was up there.
- 2:11Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 2:13Speaker 2: But I heard it's beautiful out there. Shibuza, that's one
- 2:15Speaker 2: of my close friends in. He was just out there
- 2:17Speaker 2: shooting video. And he was like, bro, I'm finna move
- 2:20Speaker 2: out here.
- 2:20Speaker 1: It's crazy out here. He's so nice. I got to
- 2:23Speaker 1: make sure I stop by there for sure. Yeah, it
- 2:26Speaker 1: looks like you're on this planet, but just on the
- 2:28Speaker 1: best parts of it. You look out there, and they
- 2:30Speaker 1: got all kind of exotic animals, too, out there. That's crazy.
- 2:33Speaker 1: That's why I think, yeah. Yeah, Native Americans have the
- 2:36Speaker 1: best weed. I've always heard that. I've never gotten to
- 2:38Speaker 1: smoke any with them. They got that shit that'll bring
- 2:41Speaker 1: your dead relatives back. You know, they got that real.
- 2:44Speaker 1: They got that soothsayer gas. I don't know.
- 2:47Speaker 2: Do I want to smoke that?
- 2:49Speaker 1: Good point.
- 2:49Speaker 2: I'll bring your dead relatives back. Do you want to
- 2:52Speaker 2: smoke that?
- 2:52Speaker 1: That's true. I mean, I guess if you owe somebody
- 2:54Speaker 1: some money, maybe you just let them be where they're at.
- 2:56Speaker 2: Yeah, not for sure. Yeah.
- 2:57Speaker 1: And they had the best pets, too. Think about it.
- 2:59Speaker 1: Native Americans had the best pets, man. Falcon, buffalo, eagles.
- 3:07Speaker 2: I'm scared of all that type of stuff.
- 3:09Speaker 1: Really?
- 3:10Speaker 2: I'm scared of any animal that's, for one, bigger than me. So, like, horses, cows,
- 3:14Speaker 2: I'm terrified of them.
- 3:16Speaker 1: Yeah, that makes sense.
- 3:17Speaker 2: And then just eagles and all that stuff. Like, you
- 3:21Speaker 2: can't really do nothing about those. So, if they fly
- 3:23Speaker 2: down and grab you and rip skin off, you can't
- 3:25Speaker 2: do nothing to them. So, you know, I don't do bugs.
- 3:29Speaker 2: I don't do exotic lizards. I don't do snakes.
- 3:33Speaker 1: Really? I could see you with a nice bird, man.
- 3:36Speaker 2: With a bird? Yeah. I do have a bird. My
- 3:38Speaker 2: daughter's name. Her nickname is Bird.
- 3:40Speaker 1: Oh, yeah?
- 3:40Speaker 2: That's as good as it gets. I was terrified right there. Oh, wow. Yeah,
- 3:44Speaker 2: I was terrified.
- 3:44Speaker 1: Why?
- 3:44Speaker 2: You saw how far away I am from the horse? Oh,
- 3:46Speaker 2: it is?
- 3:47Speaker 1: Yeah, you kept your distance.
- 3:49Speaker 2: Wow.
- 3:50Speaker 1: Did you even FaceTime with that thing first, or they
- 3:52Speaker 1: just brought him straight up?
- 3:53Speaker 2: No, they just brought it. They just brought it.
- 3:56Speaker 1: Yeah, that kind of stuff is a lot, man. Horses
- 3:58Speaker 1: make me nervous, too. They're just so big, and you
- 4:00Speaker 1: don't trust them, you know?
- 4:01Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly.
- 4:02Speaker 1: And I don't trust anything that only can see out
- 4:04Speaker 1: of the side of its head.
- 4:05Speaker 2: That, too. That, too. You know?
- 4:07Speaker 1: That's how I really feel about a lot of animals.
- 4:09Speaker 1: But did you ever have any pets growing up?
- 4:13Speaker 2: Yeah, a lot of dogs.
- 4:14Speaker 1: Oh, yeah? What kind do y'all have?
- 4:16Speaker 2: Rottweilers. Right now I have a Cane Corso. I have
- 4:19Speaker 2: two Pocket Bullies and a Frenchie. But just, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 4:25Speaker 2: That actually looks just like my dog Sasha that's at
- 4:27Speaker 2: the house right now with the white patches and everything.
- 4:30Speaker 1: And does y'all have a chain on it?
- 4:32Speaker 2: No, no. She's horrible. She's bad. Oh, really? Yeah, yeah.
- 4:37Speaker 1: Can you even pet her or not?
- 4:38Speaker 2: Yeah, you can pet her or whatnot, but if she
- 4:39Speaker 2: don't know you, she's going to go crazy. Oh, God.
- 4:42Speaker 2: But once she's smearing you and she's good, then you're
- 4:45Speaker 2: locked in?
- 4:46Speaker 1: I wouldn't even risk it. See, I get scared getting
- 4:49Speaker 1: high around dangerous animals. That's one of my big things.
- 4:53Speaker 1: You know, I would have sometimes trouble smoking with the
- 4:55Speaker 1: brothers when I was young because a lot of them
- 4:57Speaker 1: would bring a dog with them. And if we got high,
- 5:01Speaker 1: it just made me too nervous, man. I had to
- 5:03Speaker 1: get out of my own car and leave everybody in
- 5:05Speaker 1: there one time because I couldn't handle it.
- 5:07Speaker 2: Well, you might want to stay away from that weed
- 5:10Speaker 2: a lot of times.
- 5:11Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, I stay off that native stuff, man.
- 5:15Speaker 1: Thank you so much for joining us, bro.
- 5:17Speaker 2: No, for sure. It's a blessing to be here.
- 5:19Speaker 1: Yeah, congratulations on all your success, man.
- 5:21Speaker 2: I appreciate it.
- 5:22Speaker 1: It's exciting. Yeah, I love listening to your songs. They
- 5:26Speaker 1: all have this beginning that kind of creates this, like,
- 5:29Speaker 1: it almost feels like it's a start of a movie.
- 5:32Speaker 1: It's like before you come in with the lyrics, it's
- 5:36Speaker 1: like there's this Each one has this ambiance that gets going.
- 5:41Speaker 1: Who makes that? How do y'all make that choice? How
- 5:43Speaker 1: does that happen?
- 5:45Speaker 2: I've been with the same producer for about two, three
- 5:48Speaker 2: years now, band play, Tony Coles. And so we kind
- 5:52Speaker 2: of just know each other's souls at this point. And
- 5:56Speaker 2: so they go based off of what they feel like
- 6:00Speaker 2: I would mix with in a song, and then they
- 6:03Speaker 2: go from there. Tony pick out the sample. Man play
- 6:06Speaker 2: do the 808s, all the beatings on it, and just go.
- 6:10Speaker 2: I'm a build-up person, so that beginning, that's my build-up.
- 6:15Speaker 1: Yeah, it almost feel kind of romantic in the beginning.
- 6:17Speaker 2: A lot of the shit gets you in the mood,
- 6:19Speaker 2: gets you ready, and make you want to hear what
- 6:21Speaker 2: I'm about to say.
- 6:22Speaker 1: The video with the skydiving, did y'all really skydive in it?
- 6:27Speaker 2: No, I would never skydive in my life.
- 6:29Speaker 1: Really? Oh, you'd go down quick. Skydive, bungee jump. Okay.
- 6:34Speaker 2: I'm one of those people who believe in, like, I
- 6:37Speaker 2: just feel like I would have a heart attack before
- 6:39Speaker 2: I got, you know, I would faint or something, so
- 6:42Speaker 2: now I can't pull my string. So I just rather
- 6:44Speaker 2: not do it. I just rather not do it.
- 6:46Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah. I don't know why some people do it.
- 6:50Speaker 1: I wonder if they have a lot of, yeah, the video,
- 6:52Speaker 1: that was so tough, man. How did y'all shoot it, though?
- 6:54Speaker 1: Did you guys have, like, a fake chopper or something?
- 6:56Speaker 2: A fake plane, a lot of air, and great acting.
- 7:01Speaker 2: Anybody want me in the movie? There you go.
- 7:04Speaker 1: Yeah, you could be in like a paratrooper movie, man.
- 7:07Speaker 2: For sure. And it don't look like I fell that fast.
- 7:10Speaker 2: It actually looks like I fell at a decent rate.
- 7:12Speaker 2: There it went. I would drop fast right then.
- 7:15Speaker 1: It did seem like you were. Because I was kind
- 7:16Speaker 1: of when I was watching that, because usually people are
- 7:18Speaker 1: really flying. You see like the cheeks going like that.
- 7:20Speaker 1: And I was like, man, it seemed like he's kind
- 7:22Speaker 1: of going at a casual speed. But that's when you
- 7:26Speaker 1: know you got a vibe, bro, when you can skydive
- 7:29Speaker 1: at a casual speed.
- 7:30Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah.
- 7:31Speaker 1: When you can do it your own way. Yeah. What's
- 7:35Speaker 1: happening in Texas, man?
- 7:38Speaker 2: Still hot.
- 7:42Speaker 1: How has your life changed over there? Like, even in
- 7:44Speaker 1: the past two years, probably.
- 7:47Speaker 2: I mean, for me, it hasn't really changed. I still
- 7:50Speaker 2: do the same daily stuff I would do if I
- 7:52Speaker 2: was home. But of course, everybody knows me now, so
- 7:57Speaker 2: now instead of going to Walmart, I now have to
- 7:59Speaker 2: do curbside pickups. Now, you know, it's just stuff like that,
- 8:02Speaker 2: but As far as me and my home and my family,
- 8:06Speaker 2: ain't nothing really changed. We still, everybody kick it when
- 8:09Speaker 2: we can. You know, if not, I'm at home with
- 8:12Speaker 2: my kids, chilling. You know, nothing too major. I don't,
- 8:15Speaker 2: I'm as basic as it get. I don't, you know,
- 8:18Speaker 2: treat myself like a superstar and nothing like that, so.
- 8:21Speaker 1: Is it, does it feel overwhelming sometimes with people knowing
- 8:23Speaker 1: you as much? Is it sometimes a little bit like,
- 8:26Speaker 1: what is it like? Does it feel kind of like,
- 8:28Speaker 1: alarming sometimes does it feel like what you thought it
- 8:31Speaker 1: would feel like because it's a lot of people don't
- 8:33Speaker 1: get to become get to have that much popularity right
- 8:37Speaker 1: it just so it's interesting when it does happen to
- 8:39Speaker 1: somebody because it's just a rare thing yeah right.
- 8:41Speaker 2: I mean i mean as far as like i was
- 8:44Speaker 2: popular in school but then it's like after that era
- 8:48Speaker 2: faded out i started doing stuff that it's like you
- 8:50Speaker 2: kind of don't want people to know like to know
- 8:53Speaker 2: who you are And now it's like I got to
- 8:56Speaker 2: let people get this close to me before I know
- 8:58Speaker 2: if they're friend or foe. So, of course, it bothers me. But,
- 9:02Speaker 2: I mean, they come with the job. So I just
- 9:05Speaker 2: got to keep big guys like him around me. Yes, sir.
- 9:09Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, that's a good choice there. And, yeah, is
- 9:14Speaker 1: it more dangerous? Because I think, like, it's funny. Sometimes
- 9:17Speaker 1: if you're just like a regular guy, nobody will try
- 9:20Speaker 1: to shoot you. But then when you're a rapper, people
- 9:22Speaker 1: try to shoot you.
- 9:23Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, you definitely, and it's just a lot of,
- 9:28Speaker 2: you know, just like it's God in the world, it's
- 9:31Speaker 2: the devil. You know, it's the devil too, man. You know,
- 9:33Speaker 2: the paths that some people decide to take, it's not
- 9:37Speaker 2: always the right one. So, you know, you just got
- 9:39Speaker 2: to kind of be prepared for it. Yeah, you're a
- 9:41Speaker 2: target because everybody feel like you got all this money,
- 9:45Speaker 2: all of this. People don't even know, like, so a
- 9:47Speaker 2: lot of these major artists, all they have is that
- 9:50Speaker 2: chain and that watch. I got no money, you know,
- 9:53Speaker 2: so you just did what you did for the chain
- 9:55Speaker 2: and the watch. Me, I try to treat everybody as
- 9:58Speaker 2: equals so like when a person walk up on me,
- 10:00Speaker 2: I'm going to give you that picture. I'm going to
- 10:02Speaker 2: talk to you as if you're a normal person because
- 10:04Speaker 2: that's what makes somebody want to get you when you, nah,
- 10:06Speaker 2: I'm good. You know, that's what, except when you, When
- 10:10Speaker 2: you show them that separation, that's when they want what
- 10:12Speaker 2: you got.
- 10:12Speaker 1: When you're too fancy, yeah.
- 10:14Speaker 2: Exactly, exactly. Yeah.
- 10:15Speaker 1: For rappers, it just feels like, it just feels a
- 10:18Speaker 1: little bit more dangerous, I feel like, you know? Like,
- 10:21Speaker 1: do you have to keep like an EMT with like,
- 10:24Speaker 1: like do your, people know CPR and your team and
- 10:27Speaker 1: stuff like that? Or what is it like?
- 10:29Speaker 2: Uh, I ain't going to lie, fellas. If we get
- 10:34Speaker 2: to that point, don't y'all put y'all lips on me.
- 10:37Speaker 2: Don't y'all put y'all lips on me. Y'all find the
- 10:40Speaker 2: nearest woman and y'all teach her how to do it,
- 10:43Speaker 2: but don't y'all put y'all lips on me.
- 10:45Speaker 1: Bro, you're going to have some girl sitting there watching
- 10:46Speaker 1: a YouTube video.
- 10:48Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah. I can't go through that.
- 10:50Speaker 1: Bro, you ain't going to feel it, bro. You're going
- 10:52Speaker 1: to be just.
- 10:53Speaker 2: But when I come to, that's a question you got
- 10:55Speaker 2: to ask. When you come to and you say, what happened?
- 10:59Speaker 2: There's going to be that guy that's in the back
- 11:01Speaker 2: of the room like, You know, and I don't want
- 11:04Speaker 2: to deal with that.
- 11:05Speaker 1: Yeah, that's true. You don't have to look him in
- 11:07Speaker 1: the eye.
- 11:08Speaker 2: You have to. You don't know whether to say thank
- 11:10Speaker 2: you or let's fight. Hey, chill, bro. Exactly, exactly.
- 11:14Speaker 1: Hey, next time, ass first.
- 11:16Speaker 2: My partner's so funny that they ain't going to do
- 11:19Speaker 2: nothing but make a joke about it. I almost died,
- 11:22Speaker 2: and y'all talking about some. But y'all kids, though.
- 11:24Speaker 1: Y'all kids. You alive, but you a little zesty now.
- 11:28Speaker 2: Just find the nearest woman. Find the nearest woman for me.
- 11:31Speaker 2: I don't care how old she is. Just find the
- 11:33Speaker 2: nearest woman, please. Yeah, that's what I just wonder.
- 11:37Speaker 1: I think I would keep, if I was in the rapper,
- 11:39Speaker 1: I would have somebody bow and arrow, somebody with a
- 11:43Speaker 1: couple choppers on them, everything. Dracos, everything. Guns, fucking guns.
- 11:50Speaker 2: The little ninja thing?
- 11:52Speaker 1: Yeah. Magic metal, fucking ninja stars, all of that shit, boy.
- 11:57Speaker 2: I mean, you just pray for the best. Axe.
- 12:00Speaker 1: I would have everything, bro. I'd have somebody just walking around,
- 12:03Speaker 1: look like they were in one of those video games
- 12:04Speaker 1: where they have all the weapons behind them like that.
- 12:07Speaker 2: Like when they get ready to go to war, they
- 12:08Speaker 2: pack all of the weapons, but then they don't use
- 12:10Speaker 2: none of them. Yeah, I know what you're saying.
- 12:12Speaker 1: Well, even cops now, they got so many things on them.
- 12:14Speaker 1: They got a taser. They got a gun. They got
- 12:17Speaker 1: a slingshot. They got a pepper spray. They got a
- 12:21Speaker 1: fucking thing of marbles. They got all kind of shit
- 12:25Speaker 1: on them, bro.
- 12:26Speaker 2: I've never seen an officer with a bag of marbles.
- 12:28Speaker 1: But they got so many things now, bro. He got
- 12:31Speaker 1: a camera. They got a little spatula, you know, a
- 12:35Speaker 1: thing of just breath. He's just shooting Mentos at people,
- 12:39Speaker 1: you know. They got, I don't even, I couldn't even
- 12:41Speaker 1: imagine running around with all that stuff on me now.
- 12:44Speaker 2: Yeah, no, yeah, they do. They got to chase people there. Yeah,
- 12:47Speaker 2: that's crazy. On top of the vest.
- 12:50Speaker 1: Yeah, they built like a 7-Eleven, and they got to
- 12:52Speaker 1: run around and chase everybody down. It's too much.
- 12:54Speaker 2: Everybody would get away from me if I was with
- 12:56Speaker 2: what he does. I'll catch you eventually, you know.
- 12:59Speaker 1: Hey, I'll catch you in the future.
- 13:00Speaker 2: Yeah, now let me see you again. Because I couldn't,
- 13:03Speaker 2: I wouldn't, you know.
- 13:04Speaker 1: Did you, what was like a first job that you had, man?
- 13:08Speaker 2: My first ever job was Taco Cabana. I was 16.
- 13:11Speaker 2: I was getting paid seven. I was supposed to get
- 13:15Speaker 2: paid $ 7.
- 13:15Speaker 1: 25.
- 13:16Speaker 2: But when I started working, my first day, he said, $ 7. 25? No,
- 13:19Speaker 2: you're too good of a worker. I'll pay you $ 7.
- 13:21Speaker 1: 50. Really?
- 13:22Speaker 2: And I just thought I was that guy.
- 13:24Speaker 1: $ 7. 50?
- 13:25Speaker 2: $ 7.
- 13:25Speaker 1: 50?
- 13:26Speaker 2: That was my first ever check. My first check was
- 13:29Speaker 2: like $ 200, two weeks work.
- 13:31Speaker 1: Bro, when you got that first check, it was nice, huh?
- 13:34Speaker 2: No, I was so upset. It was like $ 200.
- 13:36Speaker 1: $ 300.
- 13:37Speaker 2: Two weeks of work. Yeah, I was so mad. But
- 13:40Speaker 2: I kept going.
- 13:41Speaker 1: I kept going. And how long were you in over
- 13:43Speaker 1: there at the cabana?
- 13:45Speaker 2: Maybe like a month, maybe a month and a half.
- 13:47Speaker 1: Damn, you didn't keep going at all, man.
- 13:49Speaker 2: I've never had a job over four or five months.
- 13:53Speaker 1: Really, what was it about it you think? Did y'all
- 13:55Speaker 1: have some, like, was it contractual issues? What was the
- 13:58Speaker 1: deal of it?
- 13:59Speaker 2: As bad as it sounds, it's just something about somebody
- 14:03Speaker 2: telling me what to do. You know what I'm saying?
- 14:06Speaker 2: Especially in that aspect, it's like you're not even the
- 14:09Speaker 2: big dog. You work for them just like I work
- 14:12Speaker 2: for them, and you sitting there telling me what to do. Exactly.
- 14:16Speaker 2: I just always felt like I watched my mom and
- 14:19Speaker 2: my pops growing up. They was out there entrepreneurs, so
- 14:22Speaker 2: they was their own bosses. Here I am working at
- 14:24Speaker 2: Taco Cabela getting paid $ 750 when I would rather be
- 14:28Speaker 2: my own boss.
- 14:29Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 14:30Speaker 2: So I think that's probably, me having that first job
- 14:33Speaker 2: is probably what made me start wanting to do stuff
- 14:36Speaker 2: to just be my own entity, my own boss, because
- 14:39Speaker 2: that was horrible. Having somebody telling you when to come in,
- 14:43Speaker 2: telling you what to do at the job, I just,
- 14:46Speaker 2: I couldn't do it.
- 14:47Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 14:48Speaker 2: I couldn't do it.
- 14:49Speaker 1: And was any of the food pretty good, or was
- 14:51Speaker 1: it like?
- 14:51Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, they used to have this little, uh. I
- 14:53Speaker 2: don't even know what the bowl is called, but it's
- 14:55Speaker 2: like a bowl shell. It's a bowl, but the bowl
- 14:59Speaker 2: is a shell. And inside of that, you got your meats,
- 15:03Speaker 2: your guacamole, your rice, beans.
- 15:06Speaker 1: I like all that.
- 15:07Speaker 2: You can just crush the bowl. Exactly. Hey, whoever's... Doing
- 15:12Speaker 2: that is doing a great job.
- 15:13Speaker 1: Oh, we about to pay that dude $ 7. 50 an hour,
- 15:15Speaker 1: I'll tell you that. We keeping him.
- 15:19Speaker 2: Get a new job.
- 15:20Speaker 1: Get a new job. God, that does look good. That's
- 15:22Speaker 1: like a little magic hat or something filled with a
- 15:25Speaker 1: little Thanksgiving and a little Mexican Thanksgiving in there.
- 15:28Speaker 2: That was my, every time I would leave work, that's
- 15:31Speaker 2: what I was taking with me.
- 15:33Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 15:33Speaker 2: Cabana Bowl.
- 15:34Speaker 1: And what, y'all had dessert choices up there, too?
- 15:37Speaker 2: Sopa Pias.
- 15:38Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 15:38Speaker 2: Sopa Pias. God, bro.
- 15:40Speaker 1: With ice cream with them?
- 15:41Speaker 2: Not ice cream, but like it's some little ice in
- 15:43Speaker 2: the head. I love those. But yeah, Sopa Pias. That
- 15:45Speaker 2: was my first time ever having a Sopa Pia was
- 15:48Speaker 2: at that job. And my favorite thing to make there.
- 15:51Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 15:52Speaker 2: You just got to drop it in some grease, come
- 15:53Speaker 2: out like the little perfect little square thing, dip it
- 15:56Speaker 2: in the sauce, you're good. Oh, yeah.
- 15:59Speaker 1: And y'all could smoke on the job? Was that allowed
- 16:01Speaker 1: or not? No.
- 16:03Speaker 2: I was a football player at that time, so I
- 16:05Speaker 2: wasn't really just smoking. I was on the whole, some
- 16:09Speaker 2: other stuff. See, whenever I had jobs is when I
- 16:13Speaker 2: was kind of like on a different path. Whenever I
- 16:16Speaker 2: didn't have a job, it was a different path. I
- 16:18Speaker 2: was trying to be my own boss at that time.
- 16:22Speaker 1: You said one of your folks, they had their own business.
- 16:25Speaker 1: What was their business they had?
- 16:29Speaker 2: Uh, I mean, it wasn't nothing that you could, like,
- 16:31Speaker 2: write off on your taxes. You know, you could do
- 16:33Speaker 2: taxes or whatnot, you know.
- 16:35Speaker 1: Okay, okay.
- 16:36Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah. And they paid the bills. They got the
- 16:38Speaker 2: bills paid.
- 16:39Speaker 1: Nobody fell out of W-9.
- 16:40Speaker 2: Nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah. But
- 16:45Speaker 2: the bills was paid. There was clothes on my back, and,
- 16:48Speaker 2: you know, there was a roof over my head, so
- 16:50Speaker 2: I can't complain about it.
- 16:51Speaker 1: Yeah, not at all, man. Are your parents still married
- 16:55Speaker 1: or no?
- 16:55Speaker 2: No. They was broke up before I even came out
- 16:59Speaker 2: the womb. Oh, wow. But, you know, they're still good friends.
- 17:02Speaker 2: They both helped take care of me. Made me the
- 17:05Speaker 2: man I am today.
- 17:05Speaker 1: So, I mean, it worked out for me. When you had,
- 17:10Speaker 1: because you have how many children? You said you have
- 17:12Speaker 1: one daughter?
- 17:13Speaker 2: Yeah, I have a newborn little girl. She's about to
- 17:16Speaker 2: be eight months. And I got a little boy. He's
- 17:18Speaker 2: about to be six.
- 17:20Speaker 1: Nice. Yeah, yeah. Oh, I think I saw one of
- 17:22Speaker 1: your videos maybe.
- 17:23Speaker 2: Yeah. Oh, that's cool. That's my dog right there.
- 17:25Speaker 1: Is he cool?
- 17:26Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah?
- 17:27Speaker 1: What does he like to do?
- 17:30Speaker 2: Cause havoc. So my little boy got autism, so he's
- 17:34Speaker 2: just real. He's him, you know? He's the one, he'll
- 17:37Speaker 2: sit here and be quiet one moment, and the next
- 17:40Speaker 2: moment he trying to take something from you and run
- 17:42Speaker 2: around with it. He just, he a character, man. He
- 17:45Speaker 2: his own entity within himself.
- 17:46Speaker 1: Yeah, Carter, yeah. Oh, he's a handsome guy. Just like
- 17:50Speaker 1: his daddy. What, if he has, so autism, does he
- 17:55Speaker 1: have like... Is it almost really interesting having a child
- 17:59Speaker 1: with autism? Because it almost seems like it's more of
- 18:01Speaker 1: a complex relationship or something.
- 18:03Speaker 2: They're actually some of the smartest kids in the world,
- 18:05Speaker 2: smartest people in the world.
- 18:06Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, Elon Musk had all those guys out of autism,
- 18:09Speaker 1: the guys that are making all the machinery now. You've
- 18:11Speaker 1: got to have autism to even get a damn job
- 18:13Speaker 1: at somebody's joint.
- 18:15Speaker 2: So, like, with him, it's more like of his speech. Like,
- 18:18Speaker 2: I could tell him, turn on the TV, I could
- 18:20Speaker 2: ask him what you want to watch, he can point
- 18:22Speaker 2: it out, it's just his speech. Like, it's like his words,
- 18:24Speaker 2: not out of it. But if you... Tell him, I
- 18:27Speaker 2: love you. You know what I'm saying? I love you. Like,
- 18:29Speaker 2: he can repeat anything you say. Whether it's good or bad,
- 18:31Speaker 2: he can repeat it. It's just like he can't put
- 18:33Speaker 2: it all together himself. You know what I'm saying? But
- 18:36Speaker 2: he's as normal as could be. He's smart as I
- 18:39Speaker 2: don't know what. Any kid that knows how to jump
- 18:44Speaker 2: a fence, you know what I'm saying, to go get
- 18:45Speaker 2: in the pool, that knows how to say, I want
- 18:49Speaker 2: to go to dad's house. And then when he gets
- 18:51Speaker 2: to dad's house, he'll say, pool. I only came here
- 18:54Speaker 2: for the pool. That's the only reason I came. He
- 18:56Speaker 2: knows how to get in. I don't have to put
- 18:59Speaker 2: thumbprint codes on my pantries because when he was with
- 19:02Speaker 2: his mommy, he used a lot of organic foods. And
- 19:05Speaker 2: when he comes to dad's house, you got the good snacks.
- 19:08Speaker 2: So now he knows how to get in my pantry
- 19:10Speaker 2: and climb up. Carter is a character, but that's my dog, man.
- 19:14Speaker 2: That's my dog.
- 19:15Speaker 1: Were you scared about having children when you was going
- 19:17Speaker 1: to have them? Because I would like to have children.
- 19:20Speaker 1: I don't have any yet, but I would like to
- 19:21Speaker 1: have some. But sometimes I'm like, man, is it just
- 19:24Speaker 1: going to be such a big change?
- 19:25Speaker 2: I mean, you got to leave a legacy. I grew
- 19:31Speaker 2: up in big families. So on my dad's side, whenever
- 19:33Speaker 2: we did Christmas together, everybody was spending the night at
- 19:37Speaker 2: grandma's house. My granny got, I got what?
- 19:42Speaker 1: One, two, three.
- 19:44Speaker 2: My granny got five kids, my dad got six kids.
- 19:48Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying? So that's just big over
- 19:50Speaker 2: there on my mom's side. Everybody just got kids. I
- 19:54Speaker 2: just grew up in a big family, so I knew
- 19:56Speaker 2: I always wanted a big family. I didn't think I
- 19:58Speaker 2: was going to start as early as I did, but
- 20:01Speaker 2: I really feel like I'm doing better because my mom
- 20:03Speaker 2: and my dad, my mom was 15. My dad, you
- 20:06Speaker 2: see what I'm saying?
- 20:08Speaker 1: Yeah, a lot of... In our town, a lot of
- 20:11Speaker 1: the young, a lot of the sisters, they got a
- 20:14Speaker 1: little bit pregnant. Early, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, you didn't even,
- 20:18Speaker 1: we didn't even know. We thought a lot of them
- 20:20Speaker 1: just got kind of thick or whatever. Like one summer
- 20:24Speaker 1: or whatever. And then we were like, damn, everybody's thick
- 20:27Speaker 1: all of a sudden.
- 20:27Speaker 2: Yeah, everybody got that baby.
- 20:29Speaker 1: Yeah, and everybody had it. Then they all had a baby. Yeah,
- 20:33Speaker 1: they had a lot of them babies in our area. Wow. Yeah,
- 20:37Speaker 1: I think that would be the wild thing. Dude, so
- 20:39Speaker 1: were you already rapping when you had your son?
- 20:42Speaker 2: No.
- 20:44Speaker 1: Wow. So was it kind of nervous, like, how I'm
- 20:45Speaker 1: going to take care of him, or it wasn't like
- 20:47Speaker 1: it was?
- 20:47Speaker 2: Yeah, I was sleeping. I was in my granny house
- 20:51Speaker 2: sleeping on the couch. I had just got a job
- 20:53Speaker 2: at UPS. Oh, yeah.
- 20:56Speaker 1: They got good benefits over there.
- 20:57Speaker 2: No, man, not unless you're a manager or, like, something
- 21:00Speaker 2: to that sort. Or you got to work there a
- 21:02Speaker 2: certain amount of time. It's not good. It's not good. But.
- 21:08Speaker 2: Yeah, I was staying in Austin, Texas. Whenever I went
- 21:11Speaker 2: to school, got kicked out of school, I went to
- 21:13Speaker 2: stay in Austin, Texas with the mother of Carter.
- 21:17Speaker 1: And I went to jail, got out.
- 21:20Speaker 2: Where she was staying at, I wasn't supposed to go
- 21:23Speaker 2: to no more. Oh, you had a restraining order? Yeah,
- 21:25Speaker 2: I had a restraining order from the apartment complex. Because
- 21:29Speaker 2: what I had did was in the apartment complex. Okay.
- 21:31Speaker 2: So when I got out, we did what we did.
- 21:34Speaker 2: The one last time I left to go back to Dallas...
- 21:37Speaker 2: She caught me three months later telling me that she
- 21:39Speaker 2: was pregnant. I said, I'm sleeping on the couch in
- 21:42Speaker 2: my granny house. All I could tell her was, all right, bitch,
- 21:46Speaker 2: I'm finna move you out here. I'm on somebody's couch
- 21:48Speaker 2: right now. You can come sleep on this couch with me,
- 21:49Speaker 2: but I'm going to get this right. She came. I
- 21:51Speaker 2: think she slept on the couch with me maybe two,
- 21:54Speaker 2: three weeks. And then I had to sell a apartment.
- 21:57Speaker 2: It wasn't no furniture. The first week or two, we
- 22:01Speaker 2: slept on a pallet on the floor. I'll be the chair,
- 22:05Speaker 2: you be the chair, take turns.
- 22:06Speaker 1: Exactly.
- 22:07Speaker 2: But we made it work.
- 22:09Speaker 1: Wow. That's wild, man. That takes some commitment, huh?
- 22:12Speaker 2: Yeah, that's why she's forever taken care of. We're not
- 22:14Speaker 2: even together now. She got everything she can think of.
- 22:18Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying? Times 10.
- 22:21Speaker 1: You have a lot of respect for her, it sounds like.
- 22:22Speaker 2: For sure, for sure. If it wasn't for her, I
- 22:24Speaker 2: probably wouldn't be here. Yeah. That's just me being honest.
- 22:27Speaker 1: What did you go to jail? Did you say you
- 22:30Speaker 1: went to jail? What did you go to jail for? Well,
- 22:34Speaker 1: how about this? What were the holidays like in jail?
- 22:36Speaker 2: What holiday did I spend in jail? Did I spend
- 22:41Speaker 2: the holiday? I think I spent, no, I did. I
- 22:44Speaker 2: spent Thanksgiving in jail.
- 22:45Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. What's it like? Do people get up early?
- 22:47Speaker 1: Is there anything special like on that?
- 22:50Speaker 2: You know what? I think about it, though. I was
- 22:51Speaker 2: in solitary confinement, though, for that Thanksgiving. So, boom.
- 22:56Speaker 1: Yeah, I was.
- 22:57Speaker 2: I was.
- 22:59Speaker 1: Yeah, I was. So, it was just a bunch of
- 23:01Speaker 1: screaming from door to door. Would you just hear people's voices?
- 23:04Speaker 1: Do people at least sing like a....
- 23:07Speaker 2: I mean, you got, there's people that sit there that's
- 23:09Speaker 2: actually crazy, you know what I'm saying? So they actually
- 23:12Speaker 2: do scream and do all that other stuff.
- 23:14Speaker 1: But do they scream anything special, like, because it's Thanksgiving?
- 23:16Speaker 1: That's what I'm wondering, I guess.
- 23:17Speaker 2: Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. I was
- 23:19Speaker 2: screaming something special on the day I got out.
- 23:21Speaker 1: It was a Tuesday.
- 23:22Speaker 2: Like, the day I was supposed to go to court,
- 23:24Speaker 2: it was a Tuesday.
- 23:25Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 23:25Speaker 2: So when I woke up to take my shower, I
- 23:27Speaker 2: was just, I was singing.
- 23:28Speaker 1: Tuesday, Tuesday. Tuesday, yeah.
- 23:31Speaker 2: Like, if you've ever seen Norbit, he was in the
- 23:34Speaker 2: shower knowing that he had to go to the water
- 23:36Speaker 2: park with our girl on a Tuesday. That's exactly how
- 23:39Speaker 2: it was. Everybody that was in that room was just
- 23:41Speaker 2: dying laughing.
- 23:42Speaker 1: It's a happy day, dude.
- 23:43Speaker 2: Yeah, it was a happy day. Wow.
- 23:45Speaker 1: So, yeah, Thanksgiving. What about Halloween? Were you in there?
- 23:47Speaker 2: Nah. Nah, Halloween I was out.
- 23:50Speaker 1: Thanksgiving, yeah. So, did y'all get a special meal or, like,
- 23:53Speaker 1: is there any?
- 23:54Speaker 2: I mean, yeah, they give you a little scoop of
- 23:57Speaker 2: dressing and that, but it's just not the same as.
- 24:00Speaker 1: Do y'all go around the table and say what you're
- 24:01Speaker 1: thankful for or anything like that? Nah.
- 24:04Speaker 2: I doubt that's how it went. You see, there you go.
- 24:07Speaker 1: Oh. Who are those guys?
- 24:08Speaker 2: I don't know them. Oh.
- 24:12Speaker 1: I don't know them. Yeah, look, I mean, it definitely, yeah,
- 24:16Speaker 1: it seems, yeah, I guess it wouldn't be the best, like,
- 24:18Speaker 1: it wouldn't be the best.
- 24:20Speaker 2: Like, really, holidays, holidays in jail, I feel like they're
- 24:23Speaker 2: not really celebrated because that's the time where everybody wishes
- 24:28Speaker 2: they was with their family, you know what I'm saying?
- 24:29Speaker 2: So That's when everybody, it's kind of intense because everybody
- 24:32Speaker 2: is upset. Everybody want to be with their kids, their moms, their,
- 24:36Speaker 2: you know what I'm saying? So everybody just kind of
- 24:37Speaker 2: try to get through the day.
- 24:39Speaker 1: Yeah, that's a good point. I never thought about that.
- 24:41Speaker 1: You kind of almost pretend like it's not that day.
- 24:43Speaker 2: Exactly.
- 24:44Speaker 1: Did they have like a lot of gay activity in jail?
- 24:46Speaker 1: Did you see any of it? Or you hear about
- 24:48Speaker 1: it sometimes on the internet?
- 24:49Speaker 2: There was one gay experience for me in jail. And
- 24:52Speaker 2: it was an older dude that had, he was in
- 24:54Speaker 2: there from stealing a bunch of wood from Home Depot.
- 24:59Speaker 1: Probably going to build him a little gay hut.
- 25:01Speaker 2: I don't know, but he had been in there.
- 25:02Speaker 1: A little sex shack.
- 25:03Speaker 2: He had been in there. I don't think nobody knew
- 25:06Speaker 2: that he was like that or whatever, but you could
- 25:07Speaker 2: tell he had been there a lot. He done went
- 25:09Speaker 2: to jail a bunch of times.
- 25:10Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah.
- 25:11Speaker 2: And there was a guy that came in there that
- 25:15Speaker 2: was a dentist, but he was a member of the
- 25:19Speaker 2: LGBTQ community.
- 25:21Speaker 1: Okay.
- 25:22Speaker 2: And he came in with nothing. He was from, this
- 25:25Speaker 2: is right when.
- 25:26Speaker 1: He was a dentist?
- 25:27Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, but it was illegal, Dennis. You see what
- 25:30Speaker 2: I'm saying? So he knew how to do teeth, but
- 25:31Speaker 2: he didn't have— He.
- 25:32Speaker 1: Didn't have a storefront.
- 25:34Speaker 2: Or the paperwork or anything.
- 25:35Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying? Exactly.
- 25:37Speaker 2: He just knew how to do— but he was from Mexico.
- 25:39Speaker 2: This is when they were— this is when the whole ICE
- 25:42Speaker 2: situation was going on, and they were catching a bunch
- 25:45Speaker 2: of the illegals and sending them back. And so my
- 25:49Speaker 2: pie was a bunch of illegals. And he was one
- 25:52Speaker 2: of the illegals, but he just happened to be a
- 25:54Speaker 2: part of the LGBT, you know what I'm saying?
- 25:55Speaker 1: Right, he was a gay gentleman, but he also did dental?
- 25:59Speaker 2: He did dental. And he would do dental in the... No, no, no,
- 26:01Speaker 2: that's how he got arrested. When he got pulled over,
- 26:03Speaker 2: he had a bunch of dentist equipment and dentist stuff
- 26:06Speaker 2: in his trunk, and there was no license.
- 26:10Speaker 1: Wow.
- 26:10Speaker 2: Yeah, so that's what got him. But then on top
- 26:13Speaker 2: of that, like I said, he was illegal.
- 26:16Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 26:17Speaker 2: So, but yeah, he didn't have nothing, and... The old school,
- 26:22Speaker 2: he had some stuff. And so he just basically took
- 26:26Speaker 2: care of them, and he had to take care of them.
- 26:28Speaker 1: So it was just kind of like a prison, kind
- 26:30Speaker 1: of a love story almost. Exactly.
- 26:32Speaker 2: We wasn't even in prison. We was just in jail.
- 26:35Speaker 2: But that messed me up, though.
- 26:37Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 26:37Speaker 2: That messed me up.
- 26:38Speaker 1: Yeah. But even then, at least you get to see
- 26:40Speaker 1: somebody having some romance. I guess that was almost— I
- 26:43Speaker 1: didn't see anything. Yeah. Or you get to— I guess it's, yeah,
- 26:48Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 26:48Speaker 2: I didn't see anything. I just, you know, you kind
- 26:50Speaker 2: of put two and two together.
- 26:50Speaker 1: But you start to put two and two together. Exactly.
- 26:52Speaker 1: But I bet some people get a little bit envious, like, oh,
- 26:54Speaker 1: at least he got somebody, you know?
- 26:57Speaker 2: I mean, hey, I don't know. I didn't think that way. Yeah.
- 27:01Speaker 1: Me neither, dude. But that's love is love, though.
- 27:06Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 27:07Speaker 1: If people are in for a long time. I could
- 27:09Speaker 1: see how if somebody was in for a long time
- 27:10Speaker 1: and they're not going to get out. They say, I'm
- 27:13Speaker 1: just gonna have to figure this out over here and call.
- 27:16Speaker 2: I mean, if you're in jail, if you're in prison
- 27:19Speaker 2: for the rest of your life, no, I can't even
- 27:23Speaker 2: say that because then that insinuates that if I was
- 27:25Speaker 2: to ever go to prison for the rest of my life,
- 27:27Speaker 2: then I would, yeah, yeah, so I don't know.
- 27:29Speaker 1: We're here now.
- 27:30Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah.
- 27:31Speaker 1: Happy Thanksgiving. Happy Thanksgiving.
- 27:34Speaker 2: Wow, man.
- 27:35Speaker 1: Yeah, I guess I wonder what the holidays are like
- 27:37Speaker 1: in there and stuff like that, but is there anything
- 27:39Speaker 1: that you miss? Wait, what's the difference between jail and prison?
- 27:43Speaker 2: I've never been to prison, so I can't really tell
- 27:45Speaker 2: you how bad prison gets. But from what I've heard,
- 27:48Speaker 2: it's just, I mean, you got to, it's, see, jail,
- 27:53Speaker 2: you're possibly going home. You know what I'm saying? Like,
- 27:56Speaker 2: you can go home. Prison, you know, you're there for
- 27:59Speaker 2: a little bit. So that's when it's more hostile. It's
- 28:03Speaker 2: more gangs. It's more, you know what I'm saying? That's
- 28:06Speaker 2: where that stuff takes a play in, like the gang
- 28:10Speaker 2: wars and the racial stuff. That stuff is real in prison.
- 28:14Speaker 2: I hate all that. Some people say that the feds
- 28:17Speaker 2: is better than prison just because of the strength. For one,
- 28:20Speaker 2: I guess a lot more people with money there, and
- 28:22Speaker 2: there's just a lot more stuff there like tablets. I mean,
- 28:27Speaker 2: everybody got tablets now. Even in prison, they got tablets.
- 28:30Speaker 1: Yeah, but swings, recess-type shit, outdoor stuff.
- 28:35Speaker 2: I've never been to prison. I've never been to the feds,
- 28:37Speaker 2: so I don't know. I'm just going off of what
- 28:39Speaker 2: I've been told. But I know if jails suck, Prison
- 28:43Speaker 2: got to be worse.
- 28:44Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 28:45Speaker 2: And the feds got to be worse than that.
- 28:47Speaker 1: Damn.
- 28:48Speaker 2: You know, so it's just like, but if I ever
- 28:50Speaker 2: go down and do some time, I'd rather go to
- 28:51Speaker 2: the feds because they just look like they're not free,
- 28:55Speaker 2: but they're freer.
- 28:55Speaker 1: Yeah. You know what I'm saying? A little more relaxed, yeah.
- 28:58Speaker 2: Exactly, exactly.
- 28:59Speaker 1: Yeah. I don't know if I'm going to ever go
- 29:01Speaker 1: to prison or not. I mean, you know, overall, I
- 29:04Speaker 1: would probably, I would hope I didn't. Yeah. But don't
- 29:07Speaker 1: fucking try me.
- 29:07Speaker 2: Yeah, no, for sure.
- 29:09Speaker 1: For sure. So that's how I think about some of that.

- 31:41Speaker 1: slash Theo, all lowercase. Like, what do you think gave you, like,
- 31:45Speaker 1: such a good, like, at least kept you some motivation?
- 31:48Speaker 1: So you said, like, you learned that, okay, I don't
- 31:50Speaker 1: really like working for somebody else, right? And I know
- 31:53Speaker 1: that you played football for a while. When did you, like, think, like,
- 31:57Speaker 1: then rap is something I have to do? Did it
- 31:58Speaker 1: just kind of turn on for you? I mean, I
- 32:01Speaker 1: think you're obviously a good communicator. So you have that
- 32:04Speaker 1: that was built into you. When did it start to
- 32:07Speaker 1: become lyrical for you?
- 32:09Speaker 2: So... Remember I told you I was in solitary confinement
- 32:13Speaker 2: for Thanksgiving. I had missed my son's first birthday being
- 32:17Speaker 2: in jail. And so when I got out, I knew
- 32:20Speaker 2: I never wanted to work a real job, obviously. And
- 32:23Speaker 2: on top of that, when I got out, I just
- 32:26Speaker 2: couldn't do what I was doing no more. Like all
- 32:28Speaker 2: the street activity I was doing, I had made a
- 32:31Speaker 2: promise to my son that, like, you'll never not see
- 32:33Speaker 2: your dad again. I'll never miss another birthday. I'll never
- 32:36Speaker 2: miss another anything, even though I kind of, told a story,
- 32:39Speaker 2: because here I am here, and he's in Texas, you
- 32:41Speaker 2: know what I'm saying, but this is me doing what
- 32:43Speaker 2: I gotta do to benefit him, you know what I'm saying, so, but, yeah, yeah,
- 32:48Speaker 2: so I got out, made the promises to him, and
- 32:52Speaker 2: so I just had to figure it out, I had a,
- 32:54Speaker 2: he's not my artist, but he also my cousin, he
- 32:57Speaker 2: was just a good friend at the time, he just
- 32:59Speaker 2: was like, he'd been rapping since he was nine years old.
- 33:02Speaker 1: He's your real cousin?
- 33:03Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 33:03Speaker 1: Okay.
- 33:04Speaker 2: And so he had been telling me forever, you need
- 33:05Speaker 2: to rap, you need to rap, because we would do
- 33:06Speaker 2: like little freestyle sessions and what not, and I would freestyle,
- 33:11Speaker 2: and it'll be a group of us, but he'll just
- 33:13Speaker 2: look at me and be like, bro, you need to
- 33:15Speaker 2: rap for real. But I'm like, bro, you been rapping
- 33:17Speaker 2: since nine years old, and you ain't blew up yet,
- 33:19Speaker 2: why would.
- 33:20Speaker 1: I do that?
- 33:21Speaker 2: You know, why would I?
- 33:21Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm not gonna listen to you.
- 33:22Speaker 2: Exactly. But whenever I got out, and I just really
- 33:25Speaker 2: didn't have nothing else, you know what I'm saying? Like,
- 33:27Speaker 2: what I was saying, I was really trying to live
- 33:30Speaker 2: up to that promise that I made to my son,
- 33:31Speaker 2: so whenever he was like, rap, I was like, alright, bet.
- 33:36Speaker 2: And I tried it, did maybe like three songs. I
- 33:40Speaker 2: like the feedback I got from it, you know what
- 33:42Speaker 2: I'm saying? Just from our friend group, then it went
- 33:45Speaker 2: past that to just people that we knew from school,
- 33:48Speaker 2: then it went from that to people that we didn't know.
- 33:51Speaker 2: And so I was just like, okay, let's do it something.
- 33:53Speaker 1: So you just gave it to friends first? Was it
- 33:56Speaker 1: even like close friends or do you have like enough confidence?
- 33:58Speaker 1: You're like, all right, I'm going to put this, I'm
- 33:59Speaker 1: going to.
- 34:00Speaker 2: I mean, of course, I just, I didn't even know
- 34:02Speaker 2: how to drop music. Bro told me, this your kid.
- 34:05Speaker 2: So I just went through DistroKid. But like I said,
- 34:09Speaker 2: when I was dropping them, I was just telling my
- 34:11Speaker 2: immediate friend group. But then when I started noticing that
- 34:14Speaker 2: I was getting tags and stuff from people that I
- 34:17Speaker 2: didn't know.
- 34:18Speaker 1: That's wild, huh?
- 34:19Speaker 2: Yeah, I was like, okay, this is doing a little something.
- 34:21Speaker 2: It's doing a little something. Then just to walk around
- 34:23Speaker 2: my own city and everybody know me. I go in
- 34:26Speaker 2: any club, everybody knew me. I was like, all right,
- 34:28Speaker 2: this is really happening.
- 34:30Speaker 1: That's crazy.
- 34:31Speaker 2: Yeah, then I got my first deal. In like six months.
- 34:36Speaker 2: My first distribution deal was under six months. So once
- 34:40Speaker 2: that happened, I just went from there. I just, I
- 34:43Speaker 2: seen I had made a little bag off of it.
- 34:45Speaker 2: Because I didn't touch a lot of money in my life,
- 34:47Speaker 2: but I ain't never touched nothing. Like I've never had $ 100, 000
- 34:50Speaker 2: sitting in my hand at one point in time. Yeah.
- 34:53Speaker 2: And when I did that distribution deal, I had that.
- 34:56Speaker 2: And so I was like, me doing something non-illegal, I
- 35:01Speaker 2: just touched.
- 35:01Speaker 1: $ 100, 000 at one time. You must have been like, dang,
- 35:05Speaker 1: this is it. Yeah.
- 35:07Speaker 2: And then like three months later, I was broke.
- 35:11Speaker 1: Did you get a water slide or something?
- 35:13Speaker 2: No, I just was, you know, doing for everybody.
- 35:17Speaker 1: Everybody buys some wild shit when they get a little
- 35:19Speaker 1: bit of money.
- 35:19Speaker 2: Now, I'll tell you, I didn't have no big chains.
- 35:22Speaker 2: I didn't even want no chain. To this day, I
- 35:23Speaker 2: wouldn't have this chain if they wouldn't tell me, bro,
- 35:26Speaker 2: you got an image that you got to uphold. You're
- 35:28Speaker 2: the biggest rapper in Texas.
- 35:29Speaker 1: You can't. But I don't.
- 35:31Speaker 2: I never cared about none of that at first. I
- 35:33Speaker 2: kind of got addicted after I started paying for it.
- 35:35Speaker 1: Oh yeah, you get some nice carpet or whatever, you
- 35:38Speaker 1: get a rug, nice table, you start buying all kind
- 35:40Speaker 1: of shit, lamps. Exactly, exactly. Silverware with your name on it.
- 35:44Speaker 2: Yeah, so with my name on it, it's crazy. But no, yeah,
- 35:48Speaker 2: so I had the smallest chains. I just was going
- 35:50Speaker 2: for people around me. I'd go in the mall. I
- 35:53Speaker 2: couldn't even find nothing for me to wear in the mall.
- 35:55Speaker 2: I would go to the mall to buy shoes. and
- 35:58Speaker 2: just tell my friends, hey, y'all get whatever y'all want.
- 36:00Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying? Like my mama, anytime she
- 36:02Speaker 2: would ask for anything, giving it to her, my pops, anything,
- 36:05Speaker 2: I was just doing it. You know what I'm saying?
- 36:07Speaker 2: And then I looked up one day and I was
- 36:09Speaker 2: down to like $ 25, 000. I was like, oh shit.
- 36:13Speaker 1: It goes fast too. And you got to pay taxes.
- 36:17Speaker 1: You don't even think about that.
- 36:17Speaker 2: And I didn't think about none of that. I didn't
- 36:19Speaker 2: think about none of that. And so I just had to,
- 36:21Speaker 2: I really just put my foot down and grind it
- 36:22Speaker 2: and I got it all back. And then next thing
- 36:25Speaker 2: I know, that 100 went to, I just, we went
- 36:29Speaker 2: crazy after that, you know? So, I'm independent, so all
- 36:33Speaker 2: my money come to me. Hell yeah. We did good.
- 36:37Speaker 1: Yeah, that's the same. We work for ourselves here, too.
- 36:40Speaker 1: It's inspiring. I see a lot of guys out there
- 36:41Speaker 1: like that Lil Russell. You ever see him? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah,
- 36:44Speaker 1: he go crazy. Bro, his bars are good, man. And
- 36:47Speaker 1: he's so, like, inspirational. He's got this whole thing, man.
- 36:50Speaker 1: He does half the shit in his backyard. He's sewing
- 36:53Speaker 1: half the sweaters himself that he's slinging, man. He puts
- 36:55Speaker 1: it together. He's really inspiring. I like watching him. Do
- 37:00Speaker 1: you see that Trump thing that happened with the guy? What?
- 37:03Speaker 1: We had the joke yesterday.
- 37:04Speaker 2: I have not been in a debate situation at all, actually.
- 37:09Speaker 1: Well, this is a comedian. They just had him in yesterday.
- 37:10Speaker 1: This is Tony Hinchcliffe. He's a friend of mine, and
- 37:12Speaker 1: he just said they put him up at Madison Square
- 37:16Speaker 1: Garden last night in New York City. They put him
- 37:19Speaker 1: up to speak, and then this was a joke that
- 37:20Speaker 1: he told. It's just everybody's going crazy about it today. Like,
- 37:24Speaker 1: I don't know if you guys know this, but there's
- 37:25Speaker 1: literally a floating island of garbage in the middle of
- 37:28Speaker 1: the ocean right now.
- 37:30Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 37:30Speaker 1: I think it's called Puerto Rico.
- 37:32Speaker 2: Oh, my God. Okay. All right.
- 37:34Speaker 1: So that's the joke you told, right? At like a
- 37:37Speaker 1: Madison Square Garden rally, I guess.
- 37:39Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 37:39Speaker 1: So people are up in arms about it. Because a
- 37:42Speaker 1: lot of people are Puerto Rican in New York. Yeah.
- 37:45Speaker 2: Yeah, that was a very crazy statement.
- 37:49Speaker 1: Yeah. That seemed like a unique choice to me. But
- 37:53Speaker 1: I don't know, I've made some poor choices, but I
- 37:54Speaker 1: haven't made that one. That's for sure.
- 37:57Speaker 2: I think we've all made a poor choice once before.
- 38:01Speaker 1: I've made a ton. Do you guys, do you feel
- 38:03Speaker 1: like Texas rocks with Trump, or do you feel like,
- 38:05Speaker 1: are you a political guy?
- 38:06Speaker 2: I'm not a political guy. I just, listen, I keep
- 38:09Speaker 2: my head down. I make the money that I can
- 38:11Speaker 2: make how I can make it. As long as I
- 38:13Speaker 2: can keep taking care of my kids, I don't care
- 38:15Speaker 2: about what, you know, everything. Hey, we got to go
- 38:18Speaker 2: to war, we got to go to war. We don't,
- 38:19Speaker 2: we don't. You just gotta be ready for whatever come. Yeah.
- 38:23Speaker 1: You be a paratrooper, Duke. Looking at that video of yours,
- 38:26Speaker 1: we'll send you in.
- 38:27Speaker 2: And I feel like I'm to the point now where
- 38:31Speaker 2: they wouldn't even ask me. You know? Like, if the
- 38:35Speaker 2: world was to end, you know how, like, in all
- 38:37Speaker 2: the world, in the movies, there's always, like, those two
- 38:40Speaker 2: ships or two boats. I think I've made it to
- 38:44Speaker 2: get on one of those now. Like, I'm on the list.
- 38:47Speaker 1: Right, they're gonna keep you.
- 38:48Speaker 2: Exactly, like, plus two. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 38:52Speaker 1: And you have to bring your children probably.
- 38:53Speaker 2: Yeah, obviously. Obviously. Or do I bring two women so
- 38:59Speaker 2: that I can repopulate?
- 39:00Speaker 1: Start more children.
- 39:02Speaker 2: Yeah. One kid, one woman.
- 39:07Speaker 1: And the other kid.
- 39:07Speaker 2: No, no, no.
- 39:08Speaker 1: I got to take both my kids. I got to
- 39:11Speaker 1: take both my kids. That's the best answer to end on,
- 39:13Speaker 1: I think, for that. Yeah, people bet on it now.
- 39:17Speaker 1: Two people betting on the election.
- 39:18Speaker 2: They have.
- 39:20Speaker 1: You ever seen this or this? Because a lot of
- 39:21Speaker 1: it is, it's like, well, where's people's money at? Because
- 39:23Speaker 1: that's where they're really, that's where you follow the money everywhere.
- 39:27Speaker 1: That's where you really learn things, I find. And they
- 39:30Speaker 1: have Calci. This is a website where people bet on
- 39:32Speaker 1: the election. And it's, yeah, Trump's at 62% now there,
- 39:36Speaker 1: and Kamala is at 38%. What else do they have
- 39:41Speaker 1: on there? Trevin, if you can bring something up. Oh,
- 39:44Speaker 1: how many number one songs this year on Billboard? But
- 39:47Speaker 1: you can bet on all types of stuff. Grammy nominations
- 39:50Speaker 1: for album of the year. Who's that? Cowboy Carter. Casey
- 39:58Speaker 1: has 93%. Casey Musgraves, Chris Stapleton. Will Big X win
- 40:03Speaker 1: a Grammy, right? You could bet on that. You could
- 40:04Speaker 1: bet on anything, you know? And they probably have some
- 40:07Speaker 1: of it on there. But what is he at right now?
- 40:09Speaker 1: What's it at right now? Go back. Oh, is Trump 62%?
- 40:14Speaker 1: And the money that's been bet, $ 86 million. That's crazy.
- 40:17Speaker 1: That's crazy, bro.
- 40:19Speaker 2: That is so crazy.
- 40:22Speaker 1: Like, as your life has kind of taken some new turns,
- 40:24Speaker 1: you've had new opportunities, have there been any new mentors
- 40:28Speaker 1: that have come into your life or, like, people that
- 40:30Speaker 1: you start to see, like, this person, I feel something
- 40:34Speaker 1: that they're doing is interesting or I could learn from it?
- 40:37Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 40:37Speaker 1: And that you kind of have created relationships with yet?
- 40:40Speaker 2: Uh.
- 40:43Speaker 2: Like I said, I keep my head down. I mean,
- 40:47Speaker 2: I just recently did an interview with, you know, the
- 40:50Speaker 2: million dollars worth of gang, Wallo and Gilly.
- 40:52Speaker 1: Yeah, I saw some of it.
- 40:54Speaker 2: But, I mean, it's, I don't really, I don't know,
- 40:58Speaker 2: I'm not a big industry person, man. I'm not going
- 40:59Speaker 2: to lie to you. I don't, like, I keep relationships
- 41:02Speaker 2: that are meant to be kept. Like, you know, I'm
- 41:05Speaker 2: not going to overextend myself. It's just got to be genuine.
- 41:09Speaker 2: And a lot of this stuff is not genuine.
- 41:11Speaker 1: Oh, yes, it works.
- 41:12Speaker 2: I just kind of stated myself, I don't know, I
- 41:16Speaker 2: feel like if anything, my biggest mentor is, like, my son.
- 41:21Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying? Just because I feel like
- 41:23Speaker 2: you go through everything you're going through, and you still,
- 41:26Speaker 2: you get up and you smile every day.
- 41:27Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 41:28Speaker 2: Even though you might not know what's going on, you just,
- 41:30Speaker 2: you know, you get up and smile every day, not
- 41:32Speaker 2: even knowing. You know what I'm saying? Right. I have
- 41:35Speaker 2: to say him. Yeah, yeah. Everybody else, I feel like.
- 41:40Speaker 2: I don't know. I did everything that I've done to
- 41:41Speaker 2: get here. I feel like I do it on.
- 41:46Speaker 1: My own. Yeah, you don't need, I guess, an industry. Yeah,
- 41:48Speaker 1: maybe you're your own mentor. That's interesting. Your son could
- 41:51Speaker 1: be your mentor in a way, because it really is.
- 41:53Speaker 1: A mentor is just kind of a source of inspiration,
- 41:55Speaker 1: kind of.
- 41:55Speaker 2: No, for sure, because these days, I don't want to
- 41:56Speaker 2: get up, and I don't want to do none of this.
- 41:58Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying? But if my son can
- 42:00Speaker 2: get up every day and go to school and have
- 42:03Speaker 2: the biggest smile on his face and have good days,
- 42:05Speaker 2: why can I not? Yeah.
- 42:08Speaker 1: Do you ever listen to Jelly Roll? You ever met
- 42:11Speaker 1: Jelly Roll?
- 42:11Speaker 2: Man, I've never met him, but I've heard that he
- 42:14Speaker 2: loves me. Man, I love Jelly Roll.
- 42:17Speaker 1: Y'all would make us sick. Y'all could put something together.
- 42:19Speaker 1: I don't know if you do that kind of stuff.
- 42:21Speaker 1: You have some collabs, right? For sure. Yeah, bro. He's
- 42:25Speaker 1: one of the most genuine dudes.
- 42:27Speaker 2: I'm supposed to be doing a country tape next, and
- 42:31Speaker 2: he's supposed to be on it. Yeah? Yes, sir. Yes, sir.
- 42:34Speaker 1: Who else would be on it, you think? Shaboosie, maybe?
- 42:36Speaker 2: Shaboosie, for sure. That's my dog. I think I got
- 42:39Speaker 2: an unread text from him right now on my phone.
- 42:41Speaker 2: I just texted him.
- 42:42Speaker 1: What's he like? I got to sit near him. We
- 42:43Speaker 1: went to a women's basketball game. Don't tell anybody. But
- 42:47Speaker 1: we went. But it was the Las Vegas Aces, and
- 42:50Speaker 1: they played good.
- 42:52Speaker 2: I had no idea Shabuzy was 29. You're old, buddy.
- 42:56Speaker 2: You're old. You're old. I thought he was my age. Shabuzy, 29.
- 43:03Speaker 1: He a damn adult.
- 43:04Speaker 2: I didn't know he was a tourist, though. His birthday
- 43:06Speaker 2: two days before mine.
- 43:08Speaker 1: Oh, he's a damn Taurus as well. Yeah. Wow.
- 43:11Speaker 2: But now he's, like I told you, it's not a
- 43:13Speaker 2: lot of genuine stuff in this industry. Him and L.A. Choppa,
- 43:22Speaker 2: as far as rappers, that's really just it. But they
- 43:24Speaker 2: were the most genuine guys. I can call you L.A.
- 43:28Speaker 2: Choppa right now. He just called me the other day
- 43:31Speaker 2: and thanked me because whenever he transitioned to that, if
- 43:36Speaker 2: I was a bad person, Like, he was on the
- 43:39Speaker 2: way to go to Rolling Loud, because, you know, the
- 43:40Speaker 2: first time he performed there was at a Rolling Loud.
- 43:43Speaker 2: I had just left Rolling Loud, so we had the
- 43:45Speaker 2: same hotel. We had already done a song before then,
- 43:48Speaker 2: but we was chopping it up, and in the back
- 43:51Speaker 2: you could hear the song playing. Like, he had somebody
- 43:53Speaker 2: in the back specifically holding a speaker to play that song. And,
- 43:57Speaker 2: you know, a lot of people just didn't really understand
- 44:00Speaker 2: what he had going. They didn't see where, I didn't
- 44:02Speaker 2: even see the vision.
- 44:03Speaker 1: He's sick.
- 44:04Speaker 2: But I just knew, you know what I'm saying, at
- 44:06Speaker 2: the end of the day, As long as you comfortable
- 44:08Speaker 2: with doing what you're doing and you know your reasons
- 44:10Speaker 2: behind doing what you're doing, then why not do it?
- 44:13Speaker 2: You young. At the end of the day, they doing
- 44:16Speaker 2: all this other crazy stuff, why you can't do it?
- 44:18Speaker 2: And so he just basically thanked me the other day
- 44:20Speaker 2: for just basically accepting what he had going, basically believing
- 44:25Speaker 2: in what he had going. Like I said, that's my God, man.
- 44:28Speaker 2: I got to give him all.
- 44:29Speaker 1: He just reached out and said thank you? Yeah, I swear.
- 44:31Speaker 2: I was getting my haircut at my house. He called me.
- 44:33Speaker 2: He was in Tokyo. He was in Japan.
- 44:36Speaker 1: Damn. They getting him over there, I guess.
- 44:38Speaker 2: It was broad daylight.
- 44:39Speaker 1: Japanese, they love everything.
- 44:40Speaker 2: Yeah, it was broad daylight where he was, and it
- 44:42Speaker 2: was dark where I was. You know what I'm saying?
- 44:44Speaker 2: He was just calling me. He had just got out
- 44:45Speaker 2: of the shower. He was like, yeah, man, I just
- 44:47Speaker 2: want to let you know I appreciate you. I thank you.
- 44:49Speaker 2: But yeah, Shabuza, that's my dog. I was just with
- 44:51Speaker 2: him in New York. I was trying to bring him
- 44:53Speaker 2: out to the show today, but he in L.A. now.
- 44:56Speaker 1: He's all over. Yeah, we sat next to each other
- 44:57Speaker 1: at a game. It was pretty good. Watching the Vegas
- 45:00Speaker 1: Aces is good, man.
- 45:01Speaker 2: Yeah. I got to go see a women's basketball game.
- 45:04Speaker 2: I feel like it's more intense.
- 45:06Speaker 1: I can relate to their games because I can't dunk,
- 45:08Speaker 1: they can't dunk.
- 45:09Speaker 2: Exactly, exactly. I feel that.
- 45:11Speaker 1: So every time they trying to dunk and they can,
- 45:13Speaker 1: that's Ryan.
- 45:14Speaker 2: You feel it.
- 45:15Speaker 1: Yeah. I feel it, I feel it. I'm like, I
- 45:17Speaker 1: know what these women are going through.
- 45:18Speaker 2: I actually can dunk. My manager just didn't get footage
- 45:22Speaker 2: of it.
- 45:22Speaker 1: Really?
- 45:22Speaker 2: Because he almost got fired that day as well. But
- 45:26Speaker 2: I was just recently shooting the Pride Speaks commercial. Big
- 45:29Speaker 2: shout out to Pride Speaks. And I dunked a ball.
- 45:32Speaker 1: He really?
- 45:33Speaker 2: I'm lying.
- 45:37Speaker 1: We won't say what he said.
- 45:38Speaker 2: No, he said, I'm not lying.
- 45:41Speaker 1: You're not lying. I dug the bow.
- 45:44Speaker 2: Wow, really?
- 45:45Speaker 1: They don't believe it. No, I believe it, man.
- 45:48Speaker 2: See, this is why you needed the footage.
- 45:49Speaker 1: I believe it. I believe it. This is why you
- 45:50Speaker 1: needed the footage. So that's all I'm saying.
- 45:54Speaker 2: Drewski was there. Funny Marco was there.
- 45:56Speaker 1: Wait, was Sketch there too?
- 45:57Speaker 2: Yes.
- 45:58Speaker 1: Yeah, Sketch and Drewski was there? Yes, sir. Oh, yeah.
- 46:00Speaker 1: How was that? I heard it was good. It was
- 46:02Speaker 1: all for prize picks?
- 46:03Speaker 2: Yeah, it was long, but we got the job done. Yeah,
- 46:06Speaker 2: I've seen it before. I said that. Yeah, now they're
- 46:09Speaker 2: all great guys. Man, everybody's just genuinely funny. From Spice Adams,
- 46:14Speaker 2: that guy's hilarious.
- 46:16Speaker 1: Spice Adams? I don't know him. That's the— Bring him up.
- 46:20Speaker 2: Yeah, bring him up. There you go.
- 46:24Speaker 1: Let me get a look at him. Spice Adams. He's
- 46:27Speaker 1: a chef?
- 46:28Speaker 2: No, he does like the old basketball. When you see him, you.
- 46:32Speaker 1: Oh, wait, did he do the, that's Anthony Adams.
- 46:38Speaker 2: But he goes by Spice.
- 46:40Speaker 1: He goes by Spice now. Well, that's his basketball. I
- 46:42Speaker 1: thought that was Anthony Anderson, actually, for a second.
- 46:44Speaker 2: I think that's a movie artist or something.
- 46:46Speaker 1: Yeah, it is. Anthony Adams.
- 46:48Speaker 2: You got to pull up one of his clips, like
- 46:50Speaker 2: one of the basketball clips.
- 46:52Speaker 1: Yeah, let's see if you can get one of them.
- 46:54Speaker 2: I didn't even know he played professional football.
- 46:56Speaker 1: Me neither. Hell, I didn't even know he was. Spice Adams.
- 47:03Speaker 2: Go to the video down to the right, far right,
- 47:07Speaker 2: right there.
- 47:08Speaker 1: Oh, dang, bro.
- 47:11Speaker 2: We tried. We tried, Spice.
- 47:14Speaker 1: Oh, there he is.
- 47:18Speaker 2: He was a funny guy.
- 47:20Speaker 1: What was he doing, mic apps?
- 47:25Speaker 2: Nah, he was just saying this is how older guys laugh.
- 47:30Speaker 2: How old heads laugh at glucose mama jokes. But yeah,
- 47:38Speaker 2: he a character, man. Drewski, everybody knows him. Everybody know Drewski,
- 47:44Speaker 2: a character.
- 47:45Speaker 1: Drewski's the best, man. Me and Drewski did a fake movie.
- 47:50Speaker 1: It was like a fake movie that we made. This
- 47:54Speaker 1: shit was messed up. So the family is called the
- 47:57Speaker 1: Diggers is their last name, right? Drewski wrote it.
- 48:00Speaker 2: Okay.
- 48:01Speaker 1: So we're at the one of them. The dad dies.
- 48:05Speaker 1: It's Drewski and his sister. They're inheriting a funeral parlor.
- 48:09Speaker 1: And then I'm married to Drewski's sister.
- 48:11Speaker 2: Okay.
- 48:12Speaker 1: And so I'm getting part of the funeral parlor.
- 48:14Speaker 2: Okay.
- 48:15Speaker 1: And they're not happy about it. But anyway, we're at
- 48:18Speaker 1: the funeral of the dad, the guy that died. And
- 48:22Speaker 1: the last name, his name was Nathan Digger, right? And
- 48:25Speaker 1: so I had to make a speech in front of
- 48:28Speaker 1: all these people. And it was like, man, I don't
- 48:33Speaker 1: know if I can say this right now, but I
- 48:34Speaker 1: was like, man, this is the best Digger we ever
- 48:36Speaker 1: had in the whole world, right? Yeah. And it was
- 48:39Speaker 1: a room full of black folks who didn't, I didn't
- 48:41Speaker 1: know any of them. And Drewski and them are in
- 48:44Speaker 1: the bag just howling, bro. And I'm just having to keep,
- 48:47Speaker 1: I had to do it like 15 times. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Finally,
- 48:52Speaker 1: I was like, man, I can't do this anymore.
- 48:54Speaker 2: Yeah, it would have gotten awkward after a while. Yeah, bro, right.
- 48:58Speaker 2: Even if I know that you're saying this other word,
- 49:00Speaker 2: after like the seventh time, it starts to sound like
- 49:03Speaker 2: the other word, you know?
- 49:05Speaker 1: Dude, it was, yeah, it got really scary even for
- 49:08Speaker 1: a little while. But it was, Drewski's hilarious, dude. The
- 49:12Speaker 1: video where he gets out of prison, that's Demon Home.
- 49:15Speaker 1: You seen that one?
- 49:15Speaker 2: Yeah, the Demon Home. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

- 51:48Speaker 1: space if we needed you out there?
- 51:50Speaker 2: A lot of people would have to go before me. Like,
- 51:55Speaker 2: you would have like a group of people would have like,
- 51:57Speaker 2: not the astronauts that Like you would have, because they
- 52:01Speaker 2: said they're supposed to be building a hotel up there
- 52:02Speaker 2: or something. Yeah. Somebody got to go stay in that
- 52:05Speaker 2: hotel for a week.
- 52:07Speaker 1: Okay.
- 52:08Speaker 2: And come back safely. And they got to check all
- 52:10Speaker 2: their blood, you know, their vitals. And if everything good,
- 52:15Speaker 2: I'd go on like the third or fourth group trip.
- 52:17Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying?
- 52:18Speaker 2: I'd go on that.
- 52:19Speaker 1: I would. That'd be wild if you were out there.
- 52:21Speaker 1: It would.
- 52:22Speaker 2: Because I would be lighter.
- 52:23Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 52:24Speaker 2: That's really where I want to go.
- 52:25Speaker 1: Lean with it. Rock with it, boy.
- 52:26Speaker 2: Exactly. I would make, I would. I have so many
- 52:29Speaker 2: captions when I come back.
- 52:32Speaker 1: Man. Man, I wonder if you could write different bars
- 52:35Speaker 1: if you were in space because it would affect you differently.
- 52:37Speaker 2: My mental, right? Yeah. I can't say nothing about standing
- 52:40Speaker 2: on business because I'm floating on business. I see what
- 52:44Speaker 2: you're saying. That'll be hard.
- 52:46Speaker 1: We got to get us in space, man. First album
- 52:48Speaker 1: written in space, that'd be tough.
- 52:51Speaker 2: I'm on some Soulja Boy stuff now. First rapper to
- 52:54Speaker 2: write an album in space.
- 52:56Speaker 1: Yeah, I wonder, man. Big X... you could meet an
- 53:01Speaker 1: alien out there. Do a lot of you believe in aliens?
- 53:04Speaker 1: Do you believe in aliens, my friend? I don't know.
- 53:09Speaker 1: Because you got to think, man. They got a lot
- 53:14Speaker 1: of space out there, man.
- 53:15Speaker 2: They do. Do I believe that there is another planet
- 53:20Speaker 2: out there with life on it? Of course, I think so. Aliens,
- 53:25Speaker 2: I think they might look just like us.
- 53:27Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 53:28Speaker 2: I think they might look just like us. They might
- 53:29Speaker 2: just speak different. And, yeah. I ain't going to say
- 53:35Speaker 2: they just look like, you know, I'm not going to
- 53:38Speaker 2: say that.
- 53:39Speaker 1: Yeah, like a Teletubby or something.
- 53:40Speaker 2: Yeah, they might look like, yeah, I'm not going to
- 53:42Speaker 2: do that. But they might look like the guy with
- 53:44Speaker 2: the ears.
- 53:45Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 53:46Speaker 2: Him down there. Down there, right there. They might look
- 53:49Speaker 2: like that.
- 53:50Speaker 1: Oh, damn. He look like he cut his own hair.
- 53:54Speaker 2: Ha, ha, ha.
- 53:57Speaker 1: That guy cuts his own hair, man.
- 54:00Speaker 2: What if they don't have to cut their hair? That's
- 54:01Speaker 2: just how their hair naturally is.
- 54:03Speaker 1: They just snap and it falls off how they want
- 54:05Speaker 1: it to be. Wow.
- 54:06Speaker 2: That's as alien as it'll get for me.
- 54:10Speaker 1: We used to have a bus driver. He would cut
- 54:11Speaker 1: everybody's hair. He was the barber in our town. So
- 54:14Speaker 1: like once a month, he'd pull the bus over. $ 2,
- 54:17Speaker 1: everybody get cut up. $ 2? I don't know if I
- 54:19Speaker 1: want that haircut. Oh, it wasn't a great cut, but
- 54:22Speaker 1: it was the only cut they had, man.
- 54:24Speaker 2: But it's like, what can you give for $ 2?
- 54:26Speaker 1: I mean, you get what you get.
- 54:28Speaker 2: He was just sitting in the bowling out here and
- 54:29Speaker 2: just cutting around it.
- 54:30Speaker 1: Well, he could do it off a site. He didn't
- 54:32Speaker 1: need a dishware or nothing, but he did it.
- 54:38Speaker 2: He didn't have that much faith in himself, though, because $ 2?
- 54:42Speaker 2: You get $ 2, that don't even get you no dip.
- 54:45Speaker 2: That don't get you nothing.
- 54:46Speaker 1: But this was, man, this was 25 years ago, though,
- 54:48Speaker 1: 22 years ago. Oh, okay, okay. So he had, yeah,
- 54:51Speaker 1: he really, I thought he did a pretty good job,
- 54:53Speaker 1: but he pulled that bus over, bam, everybody. 22 years?
- 54:56Speaker 1: How old are you? I'm 44. Really?
- 55:00Speaker 2: I'm an adult, man.
- 55:00Speaker 1: I'm going to die soon. I'm an adult. Man, you
- 55:05Speaker 1: look good. It's the end. Thanks, man. I feel good,
- 55:07Speaker 1: but I'm just getting older. I got to get a
- 55:09Speaker 1: wife soon. Yeah.
- 55:12Speaker 2: You don't have to. I know. You don't have to.
- 55:15Speaker 1: You don't think?
- 55:16Speaker 2: Man, it's like part of me feel like this, I
- 55:20Speaker 2: don't know, man. I got two women right now, and
- 55:24Speaker 2: I just feel like I probably would be better with
- 55:27Speaker 2: none right now, you know?
- 55:29Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 55:29Speaker 2: You know, because it's just like as you get, as
- 55:32Speaker 2: it get better, it get worse.
- 55:34Speaker 1: Yeah. But there's something also admirable about a guy that's
- 55:39Speaker 1: able to, Make that work, though, too, I think. If
- 55:44Speaker 1: I see that and the guy's able to make it work,
- 55:47Speaker 1: that he's able to take care of his wife or ex-wife,
- 55:50Speaker 1: I feel like there's almost something a little bit admirable
- 55:52Speaker 1: about it.
- 55:53Speaker 2: I struggle every day. I struggle every day. They see it.
- 55:57Speaker 2: Every day I struggle. But I feel like it's making
- 56:00Speaker 2: me a better person because now I feel like the
- 56:05Speaker 2: past me didn't know how to treat women. Now that
- 56:07Speaker 2: I got a daughter, it made me want to treat
- 56:08Speaker 2: women better and It would happen right when I have
- 56:11Speaker 2: two women, so now I'm treating them both like queens, obviously,
- 56:14Speaker 2: but it gets to a point where, you know, that's
- 56:18Speaker 2: another combo. Look at everybody starting listening.
- 56:20Speaker 1: Yeah, that's another combo, man. That's something else, bro.
- 56:23Speaker 2: Definitely take as much time as you need because once
- 56:26Speaker 2: you get married, it's a wrap.
- 56:29Speaker 1: You there.
- 56:29Speaker 2: It's a wrap. My dad just told me he's going
- 56:32Speaker 2: to propose to his girlfriend on the Dallas date.
- 56:37Speaker 1: Wow.
- 56:37Speaker 2: On stage. Uh-uh.
- 56:39Speaker 1: And what song are you going to play a special
- 56:41Speaker 1: song for him if she says yes?
- 56:44Speaker 2: I mean, he's the voice on Texas, so I'll probably
- 56:46Speaker 2: just play Texas. First off, will you marry me? Dang.
- 56:54Speaker 1: If you got to meet some aliens, what songs would
- 56:56Speaker 1: you play for him, you think? Mm-hmm.
- 56:58Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 56:59Speaker 1: Mm-hmm.
- 57:00Speaker 2: I'm from Texas, and....
- 57:06Speaker 1: And what about some other artists?
- 57:08Speaker 2: The biggest, the largest.
- 57:09Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 57:10Speaker 2: I would play that for them. They would like that.
- 57:12Speaker 1: But if they pull up with a big-ass, large-ass alien,
- 57:14Speaker 1: you're going to have some competition, though.
- 57:16Speaker 2: He's going to like the song, though. He's going to
- 57:18Speaker 2: like the song. That's all I know. But I definitely
- 57:22Speaker 2: would play, got to play some Lil Wayne. I would play.
- 57:28Speaker 1: Yeah, dude.
- 57:30Speaker 2: Got to play some Lil Wayne.
- 57:31Speaker 1: We used to live not far from Juvenile, and he
- 57:32Speaker 1: chased a woman down the street one night in our neighborhood.
- 57:37Speaker 2: We're just going to say she did something wrong.
- 57:39Speaker 1: Oh, I'm assuming she did. Yeah. And we can probably
- 57:44Speaker 1: take that out. I don't want to hurt the guy's feelings.
- 57:47Speaker 1: I don't know if that's still pending either. What, yeah,
- 57:54Speaker 1: I'm trying to think of what else, man. You've had
- 57:55Speaker 1: so much success this year. Do you start to feel
- 57:57Speaker 1: about different goals or you just stay, you just kind
- 57:59Speaker 1: of stay in the pocket you're in? Like, what do
- 58:01Speaker 1: you feel like? Do you feel a responsibility to keep
- 58:04Speaker 1: up with your own success now? Because that's interesting. Once
- 58:06Speaker 1: you start to have some success, you almost set the
- 58:09Speaker 1: bar for yourself without even realizing it, right? You're just
- 58:12Speaker 1: trying to achieve some goals. But then you set a bar,
- 58:15Speaker 1: kind of.
- 58:16Speaker 2: I mean, like I said, I didn't come in this
- 58:18Speaker 2: wanting to be the best rapper ever. I didn't even
- 58:20Speaker 2: want to be a rapper. I had to do something
- 58:23Speaker 2: to take care of my child. And so it's just
- 58:25Speaker 2: to the point where it's like, as long as I'm
- 58:27Speaker 2: taking care of my child, I'm good. I still don't
- 58:29Speaker 2: feel like I'm treating this as the NFL because, like
- 58:32Speaker 2: I said, I thought I was going to be a
- 58:33Speaker 2: football player. The NFL stands for not for long. So
- 58:37Speaker 2: I gave myself five years, and I tell them every day, man,
- 58:40Speaker 2: I can't wait to retire in this rap. And they
- 58:41Speaker 2: be like, yeah, but you got like 10 more years.
- 58:43Speaker 2: And I be like, no, I got two. And they
- 58:45Speaker 2: be like, no. I'm like, yeah, I only got two.
- 58:47Speaker 2: Because after that, I'm just, I feel like movies, you know,
- 58:51Speaker 2: like I'm just setting myself up for other things to
- 58:54Speaker 2: bring more revenue to my family. When I'm gone, my
- 58:58Speaker 2: kids are going to be serious. They ain't got to
- 59:00Speaker 2: do nothing. But it's going to like, I'm going to have,
- 59:04Speaker 2: I've been done so much, like as far as music, movies, commercials, voiceovers, whatever,
- 59:11Speaker 2: you know what I'm saying? It's going to make them
- 59:12Speaker 2: want to do something. You know what I'm saying? Man,
- 59:15Speaker 2: my dad did all of this. I got to go
- 59:18Speaker 2: do this. I got to do something to make my
- 59:19Speaker 2: own name. I want my kids to want their own name.
- 59:22Speaker 2: So it's like everything that I'm doing right now, I'm
- 59:24Speaker 2: basically doing it to make it hard on them.
- 59:26Speaker 1: I see what you're saying. Because if they're as competitive,
- 59:29Speaker 1: if they have that competitive spirit.
- 59:30Speaker 2: And I know that's in me because it got passed
- 59:32Speaker 2: down from my dad and my brother. It's just I know.
- 59:35Speaker 2: I know that's going to be there.
- 59:37Speaker 1: Exactly.
- 59:37Speaker 2: Yeah. And so when they're nice and ready, I just
- 59:41Speaker 2: know they're going to put their best foot forward and
- 59:43Speaker 2: they're going to figure it out.
- 59:44Speaker 1: Amen.
- 59:44Speaker 2: But if they don't, they got pals to carry it.
- 59:47Speaker 1: On if they don't. What about a Christmas album, man?
- 59:50Speaker 1: Are you going to do something like that for everybody?
- 59:52Speaker 2: I did do a Christmas song one time where I
- 59:54Speaker 2: feel like it went crazy. I just dropped it at
- 59:55Speaker 2: the wrong time.
- 59:56Speaker 1: When are you dropping in the summer?
- 59:59Speaker 2: No, it was cold. It was cold. I actually dropped
- 1:00:02Speaker 2: right around Christmas. It just was earlier in my career.
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: Oh, that's what you're saying. So I had less eyes,
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: you know.
- 1:00:07Speaker 2: Yeah. But I think it's over a million something right
- 1:00:10Speaker 2: now now that I've become who I've become.
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: Maybe it could pick up then this year.
- 1:00:14Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, I think we got 1.5 a year ago.
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: And would you ever do a mall Santa or something
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: like that, like for children or for charity?
- 1:00:23Speaker 2: I would. Oh, that's actually a great idea.
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: That'd be sick, bro.
- 1:00:27Speaker 2: That's a great idea.
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: Yeah, dude. If you got to be a mall Santa,
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: that would be pretty good. Yeah, I don't know if
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: we can listen to it or not because we'll have to,
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: it'll get claimed or whatever. What's your show like, man?
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: What's the show like? I might pull up tonight.
- 1:00:47Speaker 2: You should.
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: You should.
- 1:00:48Speaker 2: No, it's more like now, at first my shows would
- 1:00:52Speaker 2: just like turn up like, A lot of dancing, a
- 1:00:55Speaker 2: lot of.
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: People shaking a towel and all that?
- 1:00:57Speaker 2: Shaking a towel.
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: There's always that one guy that's just the towel guy
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: or whatever. Like on the rap stages, there's that one
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: dude and.
- 1:01:03Speaker 2: He just- Oh, you're talking about like a hype man.
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:01:07Speaker 2: I guess Roe is my hype man.
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: It's good, though. You got to have him.
- 1:01:11Speaker 2: No, but we're more like put together. I don't know
- 1:01:16Speaker 2: what it is. Me and Roe, we've been performing together
- 1:01:18Speaker 2: since my first ever performance. He was on stage with me, so.
- 1:01:23Speaker 2: I don't know. It's just the chemistry is there. Everything
- 1:01:26Speaker 2: that we done put together, it just happened. It wasn't
- 1:01:29Speaker 2: nothing that we said. Like, we just, for the first time,
- 1:01:31Speaker 2: did rehearsals before this tour. And we done did three
- 1:01:35Speaker 2: tours before. Like, my tour, Kevin Gates' tour, Key Glock tour.
- 1:01:39Speaker 2: We never rehearsed nothing. It was just we went on
- 1:01:41Speaker 2: stage and it just happened.
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: Wow.
- 1:01:43Speaker 2: So now we finally rehearsing it. So I just feel
- 1:01:44Speaker 2: like that made it. Like, now he come out on
- 1:01:47Speaker 2: stage in a FedEx uniform. You know what I'm saying? Like,
- 1:01:50Speaker 2: it's crazy. We just put more to it. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:01:52Speaker 2: it's just, you should come.
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm going to come.
- 1:01:55Speaker 2: To see a big guy my size move the way
- 1:01:58Speaker 2: I move and to, you wouldn't even think that it
- 1:02:00Speaker 2: was an hour sale. I do hour sales and you wouldn't,
- 1:02:03Speaker 2: if I wasn't sweating so bad, you wouldn't even know
- 1:02:05Speaker 2: I was tired. I don't know, it's just kind of
- 1:02:08Speaker 2: like second nature to us down there. We were football players,
- 1:02:11Speaker 2: so we didn't always run under the lights, you know
- 1:02:14Speaker 2: what I'm saying? And so, I don't know, it just
- 1:02:17Speaker 2: makes you want to put on more of a show.
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: Do you have some ballads in there, too, some love
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: songs like that?
- 1:02:23Speaker 2: I guess I used to, but now, like, so the
- 1:02:26Speaker 2: Take Care Tour is basically, I mean, it's off of
- 1:02:30Speaker 2: the album. You know, it's based off the album, and
- 1:02:31Speaker 2: my album wasn't more of a, it wasn't a turn-up album.
- 1:02:35Speaker 2: It wasn't a for the women album. It was just
- 1:02:38Speaker 2: me speaking on me in this industry, you know, speaking
- 1:02:42Speaker 2: on me in the now. And so, like, now I
- 1:02:44Speaker 2: feel like my shows are more like, Personal, like a
- 1:02:48Speaker 2: lot of people that come to my shows now, they
- 1:02:49Speaker 2: come because they feel the same way.
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: They feel the same way.
- 1:02:52Speaker 2: Exactly.
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: Like I did it myself, I've been doubted, and I
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: still believed enough in myself to get things.
- 1:02:57Speaker 2: Exactly. So now I speak, like now I perform with,
- 1:03:01Speaker 2: what's the thing called that you sit the mic on?
- 1:03:05Speaker 2: Mic stand. Mic stand, yeah, my fault. I had a
- 1:03:07Speaker 2: brain fog, my fault. But yeah, so now I come out,
- 1:03:10Speaker 2: mic stand, like I show you my intro now, you
- 1:03:13Speaker 2: be like, okay, yeah, that's crazy. That's crazy. If you
- 1:03:16Speaker 2: can pull my Instagram up, you actually can see it.
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: Yeah, let's pull it up. And I'm going to come
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: see tonight, man.
- 1:03:20Speaker 2: Yeah, make sure y'all follow me at BigXThePlug as well.
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: Wow, bro. That's so exciting, man. It's really awesome to
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: see just you have so many neat opportunities.
- 1:03:30Speaker 2: That first one right there. There you go. Shout out
- 1:03:36Speaker 2: to my cameraman, Trey Sows, man. Trey Sows! Trey Sows!
- 1:03:38Speaker 2: Trey Sows!
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: I should have rapped, bro.
- 1:03:58Speaker 2: Damn, I should have. He should have rapped. That's crazy.
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: I should have got in. I had a little bit
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: of a chance, but I didn't. It happens.
- 1:04:08Speaker 2: If you ask me, this is the easiest thing I've
- 1:04:11Speaker 2: ever done in my life. No cap. If it wasn't
- 1:04:15Speaker 2: for all the extra stuff that come with it, this
- 1:04:17Speaker 2: is the easiest money I've ever made in my life. Yeah.
- 1:04:21Speaker 2: Cause I don't, it's, it's different when you got to
- 1:04:24Speaker 2: lie and make up stuff and cause now that's a
- 1:04:27Speaker 2: whole nother process.
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: Oh yeah.
- 1:04:29Speaker 2: But when you just talking about what you've done, what
- 1:04:32Speaker 2: you've went through, like that's just coming off, that's coming
- 1:04:35Speaker 2: off my head. I don't got to think, Oh, what
- 1:04:37Speaker 2: would sound like, you know what I'm saying? I don't
- 1:04:39Speaker 2: have to do that.
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: If you're staying true to your own life, then you
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: don't have to manipulate anything.
- 1:04:43Speaker 2: Exactly. And it's just so much easier. You can go
- 1:04:45Speaker 2: in the studio, you can, You're basically writing a story
- 1:04:47Speaker 2: about yourself. It's easy.
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: Man, that's a great, it's interesting. I think people can
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: understand what you're talking about too. They can, you just
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: communicate so well that I think it just, it reaches
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: a lot of people. X, congrats on all the success, man.
- 1:05:04Speaker 2: Appreciate you.
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: Yeah, congrats on the tour.
- 1:05:06Speaker 2: I have them out now, man. Make sure I keep
- 1:05:08Speaker 2: running that take care of. We got only three days
- 1:05:13Speaker 2: in the tour. We still got 29 more dates.
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: And a lot of these are sold out by now.
- 1:05:19Speaker 2: Yes, a lot of these are sold out, so y'all
- 1:05:21Speaker 2: try to get in where y'all can fit in. Oh,
- 1:05:27Speaker 2: definitely get those meet and greets.
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: Oh, do people, yeah, how do you guys do that
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: after the shows?
- 1:05:32Speaker 2: I try to do them before the show because after
- 1:05:35Speaker 2: I'm all sweaty.
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:05:37Speaker 2: So I like to do it before, but I don't know.
- 1:05:40Speaker 2: I also feel like after it's more like, genuine, you
- 1:05:43Speaker 2: know what I'm saying? Before, I feel like it's, me,
- 1:05:46Speaker 2: it's just kind of like trying to get it out.
- 1:05:47Speaker 2: And this is coming from, this is me being honest
- 1:05:49Speaker 2: about me. Before, it's kind of just feel like it's
- 1:05:52Speaker 2: like I'm going through the, like, oh, sound check, then
- 1:05:54Speaker 2: meet and greet. But after the show, it's like, it's
- 1:05:57Speaker 2: just more genuine because you tired and it's just the
- 1:05:59Speaker 2: real you now.
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: Right, you've had the show already. Exactly. And they've gotten
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: to see it too.
- 1:06:03Speaker 2: Exactly, exactly. So it's like whenever they come up, like,
- 1:06:05Speaker 2: I had a guy, a grown man last night walk
- 1:06:09Speaker 2: up on me and tell me, bro, I love you.
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: Wow.
- 1:06:11Speaker 2: I appreciate you. because of what you got going, you
- 1:06:15Speaker 2: helped me, I love you. Told me he loved me twice,
- 1:06:17Speaker 2: you know? So it's like, that's real love. Before, if
- 1:06:21Speaker 2: we would've did the meet and greet before, he wouldn't
- 1:06:22Speaker 2: have went through the show.
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: He said, I might love you.
- 1:06:25Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, hey, great job. You and this all I
- 1:06:27Speaker 2: would've got, but he listened to the show, he listened
- 1:06:30Speaker 2: to the lyrics.
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: Yeah, after that, the energy's been there. There's been that connection.
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: I think a lot of people, you don't think about
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: it from their perspective, though. They're just excited to get
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: to see you. Some people, it's like you want to
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: hear their music, but also I think you just want
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: to be in the same building as them. And I
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: think that's some of the energy that you have, I think.
- 1:06:47Speaker 1: Some people, it's just their songs. Yeah, I want to
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: go listen for their songs. I don't know if I
- 1:06:51Speaker 1: really have a sense of them as a person. But
- 1:06:55Speaker 1: to me, it feels like, and it's just my thoughts,
- 1:06:58Speaker 1: that there's something else where people are like, oh, I
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: also want to be in the same room as him.
- 1:07:02Speaker 1: I just, you know, I feel like it's.
- 1:07:05Speaker 2: And it's different when you got like, when you're actual,
- 1:07:08Speaker 2: like when you're genuine, like you're humble. It's, you know,
- 1:07:11Speaker 2: it's just you. It's actually you. It's not no. Right.
- 1:07:15Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying? When you're just taking a
- 1:07:16Speaker 2: picture and getting them out the way, you know, you
- 1:07:19Speaker 2: enjoyed the show. I just liked the show. It was
- 1:07:21Speaker 2: your favorite part of the show. I appreciate you coming out, man.
- 1:07:24Speaker 2: People love that. They make them feel like you're their
- 1:07:28Speaker 2: person and you're a person. You know what I'm saying?
- 1:07:30Speaker 2: When you, Taking the picture and moving them on out
- 1:07:32Speaker 2: the way. They just make it seem like you're a robot,
- 1:07:35Speaker 2: like the machine is running you. Oh, yeah.
- 1:07:40Speaker 1: And these days, some of the best artists, it's just
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: everything that's outside of the machine. The machine's dirty, man.
- 1:07:45Speaker 1: That's why I feel like everything that we're doing right
- 1:07:47Speaker 1: now is historic because it's our list.
- 1:07:50Speaker 2: We're doing it completely independent.
- 1:07:52Speaker 1: Who's your team? I mean, I know a lot of
- 1:07:54Speaker 1: them right here, but just.
- 1:07:55Speaker 2: Okay, so I got a distribution deal through United Masters.
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:07:58Speaker 2: So they don't do nothing but distribute my music. I mean,
- 1:08:02Speaker 2: they gave me a small marketing budget. You know what
- 1:08:05Speaker 2: I'm saying? Nothing too major. Like a major label, they
- 1:08:08Speaker 2: pay for everything. You know what I'm saying? Like this tour,
- 1:08:10Speaker 2: I paid for it out of my pocket. Wow. The bus, $ 200, 000
- 1:08:13Speaker 2: on a bus.
- 1:08:14Speaker 1: I know, dude. That bus is damn expensive. I'll take
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: the whole bus. Wait. Rayhound was $.
- 1:08:18Speaker 2: 60, bro. $ 60, yep.
- 1:08:19Speaker 1: To get to Rochester.
- 1:08:20Speaker 2: Exactly. That's smart.
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: Or FedEx. You mail yourself overnight.
- 1:08:30Speaker 2: I don't know, but I just feel like, I don't know,
- 1:08:35Speaker 2: I'm kind of glad we did the bus though because,
- 1:08:37Speaker 2: you know, it's just.
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: No, you have to do it. Yeah. You have to.
- 1:08:39Speaker 1: It's hard to start to spend that money on yourself. Like,
- 1:08:41Speaker 1: Toolwork Comedy, we just got back from Montana or some
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: different places. But it's like, you just, because at a
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: certain point, you're investing this in your own company. You
- 1:08:48Speaker 1: have to be comfortable. You can't show up like you're
- 1:08:50Speaker 1: like rattled, you know, it's like, cause you have to
- 1:08:52Speaker 1: put the show on.
- 1:08:53Speaker 2: No, you're right. You're right.
- 1:08:56Speaker 1: Not trying to preach at you. I just, I tried
- 1:08:57Speaker 1: to nickel and dime we fucking was on motorbikes one
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: time we was on all kind of shit trying to
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: save money man we had a camper we had all
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: kind of shit.
- 1:09:05Speaker 2: Nah for sure nah yeah I mean this was cheaper
- 1:09:09Speaker 2: than flying everybody everywhere so yeah and we just I
- 1:09:12Speaker 2: just I went through the sprinter experience and I just
- 1:09:15Speaker 2: couldn't do that again it's hard man.
- 1:09:18Speaker 1: Yeah, we did all that Van Sprinter. Yeah, yeah. And
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: then finally, you just have to make sure you're comfortable
- 1:09:23Speaker 1: enough to show up.
- 1:09:24Speaker 2: Yeah. Wow.
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: Well, what a journey, Big X. Thanks for just letting
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: us enjoy your music, man. I love just how humble
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: you are, man, and just, yeah, people to people, man.
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: That's all we are really doing. That's true. Take care, tour,
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: and you can get the album. If it's sold out,
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: there may still be meet and greet tickets available.
- 1:09:43Speaker 2: For sure.
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: And I know you're just going to keep adding more dates, man.
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: You're going to be a busy man.
- 1:09:48Speaker 2: Yes, sir.
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: We're working. We're working. Yeah, I'm glad I got to
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: catch you today, man.
- 1:09:51Speaker 2: Yes, sir. I appreciate you for having me.
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: All right, blessings.
- 1:09:53Speaker 2: Yes, sir. Now I'm just floating on the breeze And
- 1:09:56Speaker 2: I feel I'm falling like these leaves I must be
- 1:10:01Speaker 2: cornerstone Oh, but when I reach that ground I'll share
- 1:10:07Speaker 2: this peace of mind I found I can feel it
- 1:10:12Speaker 2: in my bones
