- 0:22Speaker 2: The World's original podcast. Welcome to Patriots Unfiltered.
- 0:32Speaker 3: The guy looks like a defensive end.
- 0:35Speaker 2: I saw the video.
- 0:36Speaker 1: I saw the video also, I saw I wonder how
- 0:39Speaker 1: we did that? That skinless chicken. Oh yeah, but I
- 0:41Speaker 1: can have.
- 0:42Speaker 2: Which was the scout's name?
- 0:43Speaker 1: But that talker Addington, that's a long snapper.
- 0:50Speaker 4: Yeah, you named the long snap right.
- 0:53Speaker 5: Listening to you guys talk about cinema verite and the
- 0:55Speaker 5: heart of narration and whatnot, I'm just like, man, so
- 0:59Speaker 5: happy Eric's not.
- 1:00Speaker 2: Here we have a conversation.
- 1:05Speaker 1: You imagine if Eric just heard me like sound like
- 1:07Speaker 1: a moron, like about talking about I think Evan just
- 1:11Speaker 1: needs to go to the scouting department.
- 1:12Speaker 4: Keep trying to get rid of me.
- 1:15Speaker 1: I just think you're missing out.
- 1:16Speaker 2: You're like this guy knows what he's talking about.
- 1:17Speaker 1: You're young, and like, see I'm too old. You're young
- 1:21Speaker 1: enough to reinvent yourself.
- 1:22Speaker 2: If I could see you on the road in Kennesaw, Georgia.
- 1:25Speaker 2: Paul Paul breaking down offensive line, kit garden prospects and
- 1:31Speaker 2: when you're done downloading porns your laptop.
- 1:35Speaker 1: That is what that is what you have to do
- 1:37Speaker 1: to be a member of the Scouting.
- 1:39Speaker 2: I don't know. I'm just there's like a five year
- 1:41Speaker 2: runway that you have to have when you want to
- 1:42Speaker 2: make a whole sale uniform change. You're more effective being
- 1:48Speaker 2: a voice if you agree with it. I don't really
- 1:50Speaker 2: give a damn about the uniform. This is Patriots Unfiltered.
- 1:54Speaker 6: Presented by Toyota's official website. For deals, buy a Toyota
- 1:58Speaker 6: dot com.
- 2:01Speaker 2: All right, welcome the Patriots Unfiltered. It is Tuesday here
- 2:05Speaker 2: at j Let's Stadium, the day after Memorial Day. I
- 2:08Speaker 2: hope everyone had a good weekend. It was nice for
- 2:10Speaker 2: the most part. The weather was okay, started a little rocky,
- 2:13Speaker 2: but it got better.
- 2:14Speaker 1: Monday was beautiful.
- 2:15Speaker 2: Yeah, Monday was beautiful. What did you do anything good?
- 2:18Speaker 2: I just got a bunch of stuff done.
- 2:19Speaker 1: I golfed on Sunday.
- 2:21Speaker 2: The weather was not great.
- 2:22Speaker 1: I went to the Titanic exhibit in Boston.
- 2:24Speaker 7: Just Titanic, some actual, uh real artifacts that they recovered
- 2:29Speaker 7: from the bike golf anything sink in.
- 2:32Speaker 1: Still sinking, the.
- 2:33Speaker 4: Part like the ship part, like the original.
- 2:37Speaker 7: Yeah, they are like pieces of it. You could touch
- 2:38Speaker 7: the Titanic. You put your you know, your finger in
- 2:40Speaker 7: a hole and you kind of.
- 2:41Speaker 1: Touch the Titanic.
- 2:45Speaker 2: Did you go on?
- 2:46Speaker 5: Did?
- 2:50Speaker 7: There was some cool stuff though, because you when you
- 2:52Speaker 7: walk in, they kind of recreate the hallways and what
- 2:55Speaker 7: it kind of felt to look being there, and showed
- 2:57Speaker 7: some of the.
- 2:58Speaker 1: Rooms and stuff.
- 2:58Speaker 7: I've always had a little sousa for the Titanic, even
- 3:01Speaker 7: before the movie, of course, which touched us all. But
- 3:04Speaker 7: I love that book Night to remember when I was.
- 3:08Speaker 1: That was that was so you always had a soft
- 3:11Speaker 1: spot for the Titanic. I like, I like, prior to
- 3:13Speaker 1: the movie being released, like you just had this thing like.
- 3:18Speaker 4: A thousand people dying, you remember, Like it's just an ask.
- 3:22Speaker 8: A big deal.
- 3:22Speaker 1: I mean, the Titanic. You weren't aware of it. I'm
- 3:25Speaker 1: saying you had a soft spot for a tragedy.
- 3:29Speaker 2: You know what it was.
- 3:31Speaker 1: I can expand upon this, Okay.
- 3:33Speaker 7: Doctor Robert Ballard discovered the Titanic when I was like.
- 3:38Speaker 1: No, no, no, yeah, close friend.
- 3:40Speaker 7: But he was based on the cave though, you know,
- 3:42Speaker 7: but that I remember that being a big deal. We
- 3:44Speaker 7: got national geographic of my house. When they discovered the
- 3:46Speaker 7: actual ship, they hadn't even found it. I think people
- 3:48Speaker 7: lose track of that. Like in the mid eighties they
- 3:50Speaker 7: they actually.
- 3:52Speaker 4: Was why it was Nachio at your house.
- 3:55Speaker 1: We've subscribed to the magazine.
- 3:56Speaker 4: Because I thought, did he come to maybe this was
- 4:00Speaker 4: like they wanted to talk touching the Titanic and got it,
- 4:06Speaker 4: got it.
- 4:06Speaker 1: But those cool cool exhibit, cool exhibit.
- 4:09Speaker 7: It's I think it ends tomorrow, so sorry, I tell
- 4:11Speaker 7: you go check it out, but it's probably already gone.
- 4:13Speaker 7: A lot of artifacts and stuff they brought up and
- 4:15Speaker 7: recreations and what is that of science?
- 4:18Speaker 8: No?
- 4:18Speaker 1: Was it this castle that's kind of in the back bay.
- 4:21Speaker 7: It's a dedicated space that you know, kind of your
- 4:23Speaker 7: way through. Yeah yeah, yeah, that that place right there, Yeah,
- 4:26Speaker 7: that castle, I know where it is.
- 4:29Speaker 1: But but that was my That was it. And I
- 4:30Speaker 1: watched him across too here at Chi State over here
- 4:34Speaker 1: and watched the game. I didn't come over, but I
- 4:35Speaker 1: watched them on the television.
- 4:37Speaker 2: On the television television. You know, did you have the TV?
- 4:40Speaker 8: Yeah?
- 4:40Speaker 1: I was. I was rooting for BC a little bit,
- 4:42Speaker 1: but they they didn't. They kind of choked. Yeah, yeah,
- 4:45Speaker 1: back and forth. Was it was pretty good. They lost
- 4:47Speaker 1: all such silence appearance.
- 4:49Speaker 7: I mean, every team to play here this week and
- 4:50Speaker 7: I feel like had I mean when they had a kid,
- 4:53Speaker 7: the corner kid was about to break the goals record
- 4:56Speaker 7: you did.
- 4:56Speaker 1: Yeah, he did end up doing. He tied. I think
- 4:58Speaker 1: the single season record body is the all time and
- 5:01Speaker 1: SERI leader is and then the too.
- 5:03Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 5:04Speaker 1: Oh it's not all divisions. It's all divisions and they
- 5:07Speaker 1: mischaracterized that. Then good games, So sighting it's a tough
- 5:10Speaker 1: one too.
- 5:11Speaker 4: So what the talent level is? It gets better and better.
- 5:15Speaker 2: And the size of these guys, yeah.
- 5:17Speaker 4: It's it's unbelievable, but they're they're stick handling and their
- 5:21Speaker 4: ability to use both hands and like everything like its
- 5:24Speaker 4: just indible night and day. Compared to every like five years,
- 5:27Speaker 4: you feel like there's a bigger jump in.
- 5:29Speaker 1: Yeah, the skills are I mean when you go from
- 5:31Speaker 1: watching high school games and bad high school games at
- 5:35Speaker 1: that and then you just watch the just the skill
- 5:38Speaker 1: level is amazing. Every single ground ball is scooped by
- 5:42Speaker 1: the first guy that gets there, like no, just boom.
- 5:46Speaker 2: And goalies are good. Goalies are incredible, it really is.
- 5:49Speaker 2: And the pl is okay, But the college game is
- 5:52Speaker 2: so much better than the prow.
- 5:53Speaker 4: It's a great product.
- 5:55Speaker 1: Really. It was just like, I mean, the way the
- 5:58Speaker 1: angles of the state.
- 5:59Speaker 2: You have no idea, just like he went behind his
- 6:02Speaker 2: back far corner, upper far corner. It was unbelievable. Anyway,
- 6:06Speaker 2: So that's a lacross. But we're here to talk football.
- 6:09Speaker 2: It's Duce, it's Evan, it's Paul, it's me, it's Alex
- 6:13Speaker 2: in the booth. Yeah, sporting is REVS hoodie because the
- 6:17Speaker 2: Revs had their podcast using the studio before us, the
- 6:21Speaker 2: Far Post podcast. If you're a REVS fan, I would
- 6:23Speaker 2: highly recommend it. So, uh, you know, just giving a
- 6:28Speaker 2: little plug to our sister team. Okay, so football, what
- 6:33Speaker 2: have we got any good Tomorrow?
- 6:38Speaker 1: Do you have another access day tomorrow?
- 6:40Speaker 2: Yes, we'll be out there tomorrow reporting and so we're
- 6:44Speaker 2: gonna move the show to two tomorrow Wednesday. This is
- 6:50Speaker 2: gonna happen all day. I'm gonna think today is Monday,
- 6:53Speaker 2: today is Tuesday. Get it in your head.
- 6:56Speaker 1: I know it's hard, it's hard to jump right back
- 6:57Speaker 1: in after that off time. You're not going we will
- 7:00Speaker 1: have Catch twenty two get laid.
- 7:04Speaker 4: Yeah, so it be two to four tomorrow, so we'll
- 7:07Speaker 4: have we'll have that for you.
- 7:09Speaker 1: Yeah, so it's not really three weeks. I mean, this
- 7:11Speaker 1: is it.
- 7:11Speaker 7: We'll have an o TA tomorrow, We'll have an ot
- 7:13Speaker 7: on Monday, then mini camp Monday, Tuesday, probably Wednesday, and
- 7:16Speaker 7: then that's it break see a training camp.
- 7:19Speaker 4: So I know that's been a topic in the past
- 7:24Speaker 4: about changing up the off season schedule because it does
- 7:28Speaker 4: it does make very little sense that they have this
- 7:30Speaker 4: whole off season program and then everybody goes away for
- 7:33Speaker 4: five weeks and then comes back for training camp. Because
- 7:38Speaker 4: you're supposed to be getting in shape and like getting
- 7:40Speaker 4: ready for the season, and then they send everybody back
- 7:43Speaker 4: on vacation. It just I don't know, it would make
- 7:45Speaker 4: more sense to started now and then have it.
- 7:48Speaker 2: It is weird. Do you think that if they do
- 7:51Speaker 2: go to the eighteen game season, they because they've talked
- 7:54Speaker 2: about changing the dates for training camp and all that stuff,
- 7:58Speaker 2: do you think that they'll just make at one continuous
- 8:01Speaker 2: thing and have a longer training camp or what do
- 8:05Speaker 2: you think they'll do?
- 8:06Speaker 1: That's a good question.
- 8:07Speaker 7: I mean, you have the draft, of course, and then
- 8:10Speaker 7: you got to get the rookies in and kind of
- 8:11Speaker 7: teach them a little bit and so you would think
- 8:13Speaker 7: that some part of May needs to be dedicated to
- 8:15Speaker 7: getting the whole team together a little bit. But after that,
- 8:17Speaker 7: I mean, to Evan's point, to take June off and
- 8:20Speaker 7: then have a slow ramp up period in July where
- 8:22Speaker 7: it's not training camp yet, but you're here a few
- 8:25Speaker 7: days a week and you know your vacations then become
- 8:28Speaker 7: June maybe instead too, But I.
- 8:31Speaker 1: Don't know what the players would agree to. That's probably
- 8:33Speaker 1: the most.
- 8:34Speaker 4: A lot of this is actually in the past and
- 8:36Speaker 4: it hasn't really been brought up a lot this offseason.
- 8:38Speaker 4: This was a last offseason thing, but the players seem
- 8:41Speaker 4: to be the ones pushing to do it the way
- 8:44Speaker 4: I'm talking about, to eliminate this part of the off
- 8:46Speaker 4: season program schedule and the gap in between the off
- 8:50Speaker 4: season program and training camp, and to go to one
- 8:52Speaker 4: continuous and they use other sports as an example. You
- 8:56Speaker 4: don't report to spring training in baseball and then leave
- 9:00Speaker 4: and then come back for the season. You report and
- 9:02Speaker 4: then you play all the way through. So I think
- 9:05Speaker 4: the players want to have a continuous start and stop
- 9:09Speaker 4: instead of having it be the setup at it.
- 9:12Speaker 1: I guess two players would like to get rid of
- 9:14Speaker 1: all of this stuff correct, like because if that's not
- 9:17Speaker 1: really apples to apples, Yes, baseball teams report for spring
- 9:20Speaker 1: training and then they start the season. The football team
- 9:22Speaker 1: reports for training camp and then start the season. This
- 9:25Speaker 1: is something in addition to training camp, right, that the
- 9:27Speaker 1: other sports don't really do.
- 9:29Speaker 4: I would say it would be like what Deuce was saying,
- 9:31Speaker 4: where there's like a three week ramp up period in July,
- 9:35Speaker 4: maybe like right after the fourth into training camp, and
- 9:38Speaker 4: then that would be like what this is basically where
- 9:41Speaker 4: you're in not in pads and it's light work and
- 9:44Speaker 4: you're just trying to get back in the swing of
- 9:46Speaker 4: things and get back in shape, and then you would
- 9:48Speaker 4: start training camp maybe after a couple of weeks.
- 9:50Speaker 7: It wouldn't this be miserable for us though, Like it'd
- 9:52Speaker 7: be totally miserable that then instead of like, oh, you
- 9:54Speaker 7: get June on, but now in July you have to
- 9:56Speaker 7: go watch these like you know, light practices that nothing's
- 9:58Speaker 7: really actually happened.
- 10:00Speaker 1: Ad So like not your July long because it stays
- 10:02Speaker 1: the same and it's optional for the players and it's
- 10:04Speaker 1: just like one day that you're you know.
- 10:06Speaker 2: Let's move down to the car anyway, why do the
- 10:08Speaker 2: colleges do spring practices and spring football.
- 10:12Speaker 1: I think it's more of a mental part of the game.
- 10:16Speaker 2: Is football that much more complicated when it comes to
- 10:19Speaker 2: playbooks and everything where you need that period to just
- 10:22Speaker 2: get everyone acclimated, get them their playbook, and then you
- 10:25Speaker 2: send them away. Is that required?
- 10:27Speaker 1: You know in college they do that for other sports too, though,
- 10:31Speaker 1: like in the off season, like you have fall baseball,
- 10:34Speaker 1: you fall ball. And I always thought it was just
- 10:37Speaker 1: because of the academic calendar, there was an opportunity to
- 10:40Speaker 1: sort of start while they're still in school spring practices
- 10:44Speaker 1: and stuff like that, as opposed to having the entire
- 10:47Speaker 1: summer when they're not in school taken up with training camp.
- 10:50Speaker 1: I know that they start training camp before they come
- 10:53Speaker 1: back to school, not that that's a huge priority.
- 10:57Speaker 4: In the SEC, it's not as long as in NFL
- 11:00Speaker 4: training camp, But in spring football, they they're in pads
- 11:03Speaker 4: like that's that's full contact, Like that's full tilt. In
- 11:06Speaker 4: college like this obviously wouldn't be that this would be
- 11:09Speaker 4: OTA's but abbreviated and ahead of training camp so that
- 11:14Speaker 4: there's no breaks.
- 11:15Speaker 2: So how would we feel if, like, I don't know
- 11:16Speaker 2: what the best way to do. How would we feel
- 11:18Speaker 2: if things started in mid June and rolled into training
- 11:22Speaker 2: camp in mid July.
- 11:24Speaker 4: I think it would be terrible for us, but it's not.
- 11:26Speaker 4: Obviously nobody feels bad for us.
- 11:28Speaker 1: Well, the question for me is is the product better?
- 11:31Speaker 7: Can we get back a little bit of the physicality
- 11:33Speaker 7: and camp because it sounds like every time you hear
- 11:36Speaker 7: from modern NFL coaches that they've lost this and.
- 11:40Speaker 1: More of a right. You know, they can do whatever
- 11:43Speaker 1: they want, right, that's a story. You know, within the
- 11:47Speaker 1: allotted time that they're in pads, Like you can't just
- 11:49Speaker 1: invent days that you can be in pads. There are rules,
- 11:52Speaker 1: but while you're in pad, you can hit. Yeah, you know,
- 11:55Speaker 1: just like most teams choose not to. Yeah, Mike would
- 11:59Speaker 1: just like to get back to Barbarian, you know, just
- 12:02Speaker 1: let's just get each other.
- 12:03Speaker 2: Speaking of Barbarian, the Eastern playoffs in the NBA is
- 12:08Speaker 2: Ridiculous's random the day. No, they're just letting I understand,
- 12:14Speaker 2: let him play, let them play. It's they're letting too
- 12:18Speaker 2: much go. It's it's ridiculous.
- 12:20Speaker 1: I think Jalen Brunson disagrees pretty much. The whole fourth
- 12:23Speaker 1: quarter last game because it follows.
- 12:25Speaker 2: Because he can't play defense. That's his problem.
- 12:27Speaker 1: But I'm just saying they're calling follows. You're saying they're
- 12:29Speaker 1: not calling.
- 12:30Speaker 2: Any because he because he's so obvious with his pet,
- 12:32Speaker 2: you know. But anyway, anyway, that's just another topic, all right,
- 12:37Speaker 2: you know what? The topic, Speaking of topics, the topic
- 12:40Speaker 2: that got the most run after last Thursday show was
- 12:44Speaker 2: this runout music. Everyone has an opinion on what you know,
- 12:49Speaker 2: if they ever changed what the Patriots should have for
- 12:51Speaker 2: runout music. And the problem is they send me these songs. Hey,
- 12:55Speaker 2: it's you know, d we will with you know this song,
- 12:59Speaker 2: and I don't know what it is, so I don't
- 13:00Speaker 2: know if it's good or not. It couldn't be the
- 13:01Speaker 2: greatest runout song ever. I just have the time to
- 13:04Speaker 2: look up all these songs.
- 13:05Speaker 7: It's really hard to sell people on it. Maybe that's
- 13:07Speaker 7: why we keep going back to the same songs. Because
- 13:10Speaker 7: when you say something like ener Sam and everyone collectively
- 13:13Speaker 7: know just kind of what that is and can be
- 13:14Speaker 7: like that's a good song.
- 13:15Speaker 1: But when you try to.
- 13:16Speaker 7: Do something new and you throw a new song out,
- 13:18Speaker 7: maybe one person has heard of it, but more likely
- 13:21Speaker 7: no one's heard of it, and then you're instantly like.
- 13:23Speaker 2: Nah, you know we were talking before the show of
- 13:26Speaker 2: the Chicago Bulls. That song was discovered by their pa
- 13:31Speaker 2: announcer in.
- 13:33Speaker 7: A movie theater heard it come on and yeah, and
- 13:35Speaker 7: then a couple of years later put it together as
- 13:37Speaker 7: their intro.
- 13:38Speaker 2: And I'm sure at that time no one knew what
- 13:40Speaker 2: that song was.
- 13:40Speaker 1: Yeah, Alan Parsons project, right, but I still didn't know
- 13:44Speaker 1: what it was.
- 13:45Speaker 4: All the suggestions though, are just like heavy metal stuff,
- 13:48Speaker 4: and it's like, well, that's that's what crazy train is like.
- 13:51Speaker 4: So I don't know. It's just if you're going to
- 13:54Speaker 4: change it, then it needs to be something at least
- 13:56Speaker 4: like a little bit different, well a different genre. It's
- 14:01Speaker 4: not necessarily different genre, but maybe just a different era
- 14:04Speaker 4: of that music.
- 14:05Speaker 2: Like that that was the heyday of metal.
- 14:08Speaker 4: Well, I know, I'm all for keeping it as the heyday.
- 14:11Speaker 4: I'm just saying, like I think that if you're just
- 14:14Speaker 4: going to change it to something that just sounds like
- 14:16Speaker 4: crazy train, it's like, well, it's already crazy train, so what's.
- 14:19Speaker 2: The let's just taking enter the salmon that doesn't sound
- 14:23Speaker 2: like crazy train?
- 14:24Speaker 1: Right, No, but that's not qualified to talk about that.
- 14:28Speaker 4: But it's also not our song, Like there's heavy metal
- 14:34Speaker 4: songs you could have.
- 14:34Speaker 8: I don't know.
- 14:36Speaker 4: It just kind of seems like it's redundant. Like at
- 14:38Speaker 4: that point, you're just changing it just to change it
- 14:41Speaker 4: if you if you want to change into something that's
- 14:44Speaker 4: you know, different genre or like that's from that's current,
- 14:47Speaker 4: so that it's more of a current song that I
- 14:50Speaker 4: can understand that, but let's not. We're not changing it
- 14:52Speaker 4: just to change it.
- 14:53Speaker 1: It seems that I'm.
- 14:57Speaker 4: Now Kendrick Lamar is an l A guy.
- 14:58Speaker 2: I'm not.
- 14:59Speaker 4: No, I don't want to do Kendrick.
- 15:00Speaker 1: It's really hard. I can't summer. You can like produce
- 15:03Speaker 1: a new one.
- 15:03Speaker 7: You could write, we're gonna write a hype song, or
- 15:05Speaker 7: we're gonna get a composer, like a movie composer to
- 15:08Speaker 7: do a whole thing.
- 15:10Speaker 1: You know, it's hard to get John Williams to do it.
- 15:12Speaker 4: John, Yeah, wh who's that that other guy?
- 15:17Speaker 7: Bill Conti Hans Bill. That's a good one.
- 15:22Speaker 2: He did Titanic speaking of right, see, like if you
- 15:25Speaker 2: were sitting the Batman's.
- 15:27Speaker 1: Yeah, it's like he could definitely do it.
- 15:30Speaker 7: It's just be a hard sell to say we're gonna
- 15:33Speaker 7: come out to something and then have them pitch ideas.
- 15:35Speaker 2: And I don't know. I think the fans would welcome
- 15:37Speaker 2: a change. I think they're ready for a change. But
- 15:40Speaker 2: it's who knows what's good. It's so subjective.
- 15:44Speaker 7: Well, I I know Rabel's mentioned he loves a c DC.
- 15:46Speaker 7: I mean, I still love for those about the rock.
- 15:48Speaker 7: I think that's a great one. That's kind of here, right.
- 15:51Speaker 4: Yeah, they do that like it's it's not some of
- 15:53Speaker 4: them want to do it. I don't think it's an
- 15:55Speaker 4: entrance song for the Patriots, but is it like the.
- 15:57Speaker 1: Kind of like a preamble to this.
- 16:00Speaker 4: They definitely play that at some point in the lead up.
- 16:02Speaker 2: Yeah, whatever it is, it's got from the opening note,
- 16:06Speaker 2: it's gotta grab you. You know.
- 16:08Speaker 1: That's like that's like enter Sammy. You know, that's why
- 16:12Speaker 1: those songs are so he looks at me.
- 16:22Speaker 7: I know, I feel I feel like I should be
- 16:23Speaker 7: better qualified to talk about this. I've told you guys
- 16:25Speaker 7: in the past.
- 16:26Speaker 1: Everyone used to make fun of me in.
- 16:28Speaker 7: College because I would go the long way to the rink,
- 16:31Speaker 7: Like you could drive right up to the Holy Cross
- 16:33Speaker 7: rink at the top of the hill, or you could
- 16:35Speaker 7: take the long way, and I went the long way
- 16:37Speaker 7: because I needed a couple of songs to get amped up,
- 16:39Speaker 7: you know, so I wish I.
- 16:40Speaker 1: Had an or to offer.
- 16:42Speaker 2: You don't know what.
- 16:44Speaker 4: Songs are different. It's like black Betty.
- 16:46Speaker 7: Yeah, you can't use the Hay song anymore either, Gary Glitter, He's.
- 16:50Speaker 2: Yeah, no, I thought that ran out. I thought it's
- 16:55Speaker 2: it's still but no, before when whenever you played that song,
- 17:01Speaker 2: he would get royalty. But I think that's run out.
- 17:05Speaker 2: He does get royalty, and so now we can play it.
- 17:07Speaker 1: And we just yeah, he's not getting the money anymore. Yeah,
- 17:10Speaker 1: so it's okay, he might not be. I mean it
- 17:14Speaker 1: always separate hockey, Hockey night.
- 17:19Speaker 4: Yeah, hockey has its own genre. Black Betty, Black Betty's
- 17:24Speaker 4: a big Bruins one. They do that warm.
- 17:26Speaker 2: Ups, Motley Crew, Kickstart my Heart.
- 17:31Speaker 1: It's a great one. Yeah, it's a classic.
- 17:34Speaker 2: But and then you have to decide what are we
- 17:36Speaker 2: doing around it, Like, what's the presentation? It's not just
- 17:40Speaker 2: the music. How are we presenting it? Would you guys
- 17:43Speaker 2: be in favor of the team being introduced as individuals
- 17:46Speaker 2: go back to that? Yeah, I'm against it.
- 17:50Speaker 4: For it, you're for it because we go to all
- 17:52Speaker 4: the road games, and I think it's a moment, Like
- 17:54Speaker 4: it's cool. Now, granted, you need to have the star
- 17:57Speaker 4: power and the players to be a moment, But when
- 18:01Speaker 4: we were we always talk about this off the air
- 18:04Speaker 4: the Minnesota game and on Thanksgiving night and their pregame
- 18:09Speaker 4: presentation in Minnesota is fantastic, just in general, but they
- 18:13Speaker 4: had just come off of beating Buffalo, and Buffalo and
- 18:16Speaker 4: Justin Jefferson just had that crazy game and when they
- 18:18Speaker 4: introduced Justin Jefferson as the last player on the field,
- 18:22Speaker 4: and like it was like that was a moment, Like
- 18:25Speaker 4: the place was just going bananas, like they were over
- 18:29Speaker 4: the top. Now you need to have a player of
- 18:31Speaker 4: that caliber that leads to that, But I mean it's possible.
- 18:35Speaker 2: I don't know. It just seems to me like now
- 18:37Speaker 2: that we've had that tradition for over twenty years, if
- 18:40Speaker 2: you go back, you're settling, you're compromising. So Paul doesn't care.
- 18:47Speaker 1: No, It's not something that I've ever really thought much about.
- 18:52Speaker 1: The I like Evans's suggestion, you know his reasoning. You know,
- 18:57Speaker 1: if you want to keep it for tradition. I'm a
- 18:59Speaker 1: tradition guy too, you know me. I don't really love change.
- 19:01Speaker 1: I don't embrace change a lot, you know. And it's
- 19:04Speaker 1: the same job for twenty six years, you know, So
- 19:06Speaker 1: I see Fright's side too. I've never really given it
- 19:09Speaker 1: much thought.
- 19:10Speaker 4: I just think whether a game thing, whether we like
- 19:13Speaker 4: it or not, like that that moment in the content moment.
- 19:16Speaker 2: Well, it would be Drake may right, right, like.
- 19:18Speaker 4: All of that is that's that's kind of the vibe
- 19:22Speaker 4: right now, is you know, let's obviously for good reason,
- 19:25Speaker 4: like let's prop up these guys and it gets the
- 19:27Speaker 4: place juiced up that you know, your your star player, the.
- 19:31Speaker 1: Defense's Gonzales, right, it's the last guy, right, or somebody
- 19:35Speaker 1: that made the big play last week. They do that
- 19:36Speaker 1: in every other stadium though.
- 19:39Speaker 4: Like I mean, I wouldn't. I don't know if it's
- 19:42Speaker 4: every stadium, but every stadium we've been to the last
- 19:45Speaker 4: couple of years.
- 19:45Speaker 2: Did Yeah, I just I just I like that tradition,
- 19:50Speaker 2: and I like the message that it sends. It's football,
- 19:54Speaker 2: it's a team sport.
- 19:55Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I can get with that.
- 19:57Speaker 2: I don't know the other thing we I had a
- 20:00Speaker 2: lot of people writing in defense of Evan and his
- 20:04Speaker 2: thing about the bands.
- 20:05Speaker 4: Oh I was actually expecting it to go the other way.
- 20:08Speaker 2: Actually, people have actually done research and the numbers support
- 20:11Speaker 2: what you're saying.
- 20:12Speaker 4: Wow, I was anecdotal research.
- 20:15Speaker 2: So there's actually analytics. Yeah, not to be not surprising,
- 20:19Speaker 2: but there's analytics behind the take nice. Yeah.
- 20:22Speaker 4: Yeah. I had some good conversations about this with some
- 20:26Speaker 4: people on the interwebs because some people were doing the
- 20:30Speaker 4: opposite of what Fred is saying, were coming at me
- 20:32Speaker 4: about it. A couple of you know, suggestions from my
- 20:34Speaker 4: era Blank Oneity two is one that I agreed with,
- 20:37Speaker 4: you know, Blank twenty two, Green Day Foo Fighters, Like
- 20:41Speaker 4: those bands are you know, I'm thirty two of those
- 20:43Speaker 4: bands are getting up there. You know that was twenty
- 20:45Speaker 4: years ago. Now that American Idiot came out like that,
- 20:48Speaker 4: that was a long time ago. You know, we don't
- 20:51Speaker 4: need some some modern.
- 20:52Speaker 2: Stuff, well new stuff. One guy, he was writing about
- 20:56Speaker 2: the economics. He says a single vocal artist and a
- 20:59Speaker 2: laptop are dramatically cheaper than a multi person band. Compensation
- 21:03Speaker 2: scales much easier for one person than four or five.
- 21:06Speaker 2: Recording costs for a single voice track scales dramatically easier
- 21:09Speaker 2: than full recording for a multi instrument band, where for example,
- 21:13Speaker 2: you might need five to nine very expensive microphones to
- 21:16Speaker 2: capture one drum kit, and then it's extremely cheap to
- 21:18Speaker 2: post that it blah blah blah blah. So economically they're
- 21:22Speaker 2: doing it this way because make more money.
- 21:26Speaker 4: Right, So maybe like thirty years ago, Taylor Swift is
- 21:30Speaker 4: in the is a front person for a band, but
- 21:33Speaker 4: now they just say forget the band, We're just gonna
- 21:36Speaker 4: rit have her do it solo.
- 21:38Speaker 1: So is the reasoning, And forgive me for being a
- 21:41Speaker 1: little ignorant, Mike, this might be a question for you.
- 21:43Speaker 1: I am serious about music, you know you are, mister entertainment,
- 21:46Speaker 1: very good. But would you not need like studio musicians,
- 21:52Speaker 1: you know, even for Taylor Swift? Or is it something
- 21:54Speaker 1: you can just do it all electronically? So if you
- 21:56Speaker 1: have a band, they would not allow their music to
- 21:59Speaker 1: be played artificially, right, But if it's just like that,
- 22:04Speaker 1: as simple as that, yeah you can.
- 22:05Speaker 4: Computers can do it all now, I mean I started
- 22:08Speaker 4: when I was in school, like logic. Reason like those
- 22:12Speaker 4: software is that you can literally make beats with just
- 22:16Speaker 4: clicks of the mouse.
- 22:17Speaker 1: You can get serious about but your music without anyone else,
- 22:20Speaker 1: just you. Yeah, it seems to defeat the purpose they
- 22:24Speaker 1: want to play with other people. It's the joy of
- 22:25Speaker 1: music and again everything that it's all about, like you know,
- 22:29Speaker 1: the seventies and eighties, like that's the best, the only
- 22:32Speaker 1: thing I know, Like all the the documentaries that you watch,
- 22:36Speaker 1: Like there's a great thriller documentary from Michael Jackson, but
- 22:38Speaker 1: like they had tons of guys interviewed in that documentary
- 22:43Speaker 1: that played different stuff. You know, they're studio musicians, even
- 22:46Speaker 1: though it's Michael Jackson by himself, he's a solo artist.
- 22:50Speaker 1: But what about the young rock young rock with stealely
- 22:53Speaker 1: Dan and all that stuff. Yeah, all the total and
- 22:56Speaker 1: everybody right right total played everything.
- 22:58Speaker 4: I do think the advantage of it though, is that
- 23:00Speaker 4: you can pretty like anybody can make music right. You
- 23:03Speaker 4: don't need to be like signed by like a record
- 23:05Speaker 4: label or something like that to have the bandwidth to
- 23:09Speaker 4: be you know, in the budget.
- 23:10Speaker 1: To be That's the hope, you know, that's what I'm
- 23:13Speaker 1: hoping for.
- 23:13Speaker 2: But knocking at the Door Jacob and Nashville is melding
- 23:20Speaker 2: Patriot's Hall of Fame talk with music. He says, enough
- 23:24Speaker 2: Patriots Hall of Fame hate, Everyone should be grateful that
- 23:26Speaker 2: the Patriots Hall of Fame is run the way it is,
- 23:28Speaker 2: even with minitary having to wait, take a step into
- 23:32Speaker 2: my field, the music business in the nonsense, that's the
- 23:35Speaker 2: rock and roll Hall of Fame. Quick game of these
- 23:38Speaker 2: four artists who was not in the rock and Roll
- 23:41Speaker 2: Hall of Fame Jeff Roteau, Iron Maiden, Motorhead and Ted NuGen.
- 23:48Speaker 1: Oh boy, who's not Ted?
- 23:51Speaker 2: The answers, none of them are in. None of them
- 23:53Speaker 2: are in, but run dmc, Dolly part and Madonna, Biggie
- 23:56Speaker 2: Small's Abbott and Louis Armstrong are.
- 24:00Speaker 1: I would agree with that.
- 24:01Speaker 9: Well, if it's supposed to be the rock and roll
- 24:03Speaker 9: Louis are should I see? I see them if if
- 24:07Speaker 9: it's a music I'm just thinking of a music fame, right,
- 24:11Speaker 9: I mean Biggie Small show there was Well, that's just
- 24:14Speaker 9: totally totally get his point Yep, he's right.
- 24:16Speaker 1: If you go in rock and rolls strictly, those those
- 24:19Speaker 1: guys are all rock acts and the ones that are
- 24:22Speaker 1: all in or not. Yeah, that my music. The you know,
- 24:26Speaker 1: Biggie of course, it's probably the last, probably the last
- 24:31Speaker 1: time I really listened to that stuff.
- 24:35Speaker 2: Jeff in Canada. I'd like to call out the guy
- 24:37Speaker 2: who wrote in from Atlanta saying that the Patriots fans
- 24:40Speaker 2: who are not also fans of the Celtics, Bruins and
- 24:42Speaker 2: Red Sox are fake Patriots fans his exact words, that's
- 24:46Speaker 2: another one that got a lot of play. That's ridiculous.
- 24:50Speaker 2: I'm as much a fan as he is. I've been
- 24:51Speaker 2: a fan since nineteen ninety one when they were a
- 24:54Speaker 2: dumpster fiver or franchise. If this shows. If this show
- 24:57Speaker 2: teaches us anything, it's that the fans live all over
- 25:00Speaker 2: the world. As less than half of the calls and
- 25:02Speaker 2: emails come from Great Boston. It's those out of market
- 25:05Speaker 2: fans who fill the bank of craft sports media and
- 25:08Speaker 2: keep shows like this going. Get over it that we
- 25:11Speaker 2: don't like your Celtics or Bruins. I agree with that.
- 25:16Speaker 2: I think nowadays people whatever you can want all over it.
- 25:20Speaker 2: It's easier to follow your team now than it was
- 25:24Speaker 2: when I was a kid. Yeah, you know right.
- 25:27Speaker 7: The weird part is that, I mean, I grew up
- 25:28Speaker 7: around here and I don't remember really a lot of
- 25:30Speaker 7: Patriot fans. I like, you look at my yearbook and
- 25:32Speaker 7: it's all kids and like other teams stuff, Like I
- 25:34Speaker 7: had the best friend who loved the forty nine ers, like,
- 25:37Speaker 7: which is strange. You'd think now people be more apt
- 25:40Speaker 7: to follow teams that they can watch, but I guess
- 25:42Speaker 7: the bandwagon always runs strong.
- 25:46Speaker 1: Why it was hard to follow teams when Fred was
- 25:48Speaker 1: growing up because he couldn't keep track of which one
- 25:50Speaker 1: he was rooting for at a given time. You want
- 25:58Speaker 1: to rip shot, you had to wait to see who
- 25:59Speaker 1: was in first place at the time.
- 26:02Speaker 2: I had to wait for the Weekly Baseball Show with
- 26:05Speaker 2: Ted Kubiak.
- 26:06Speaker 1: What was that guy, Tony Kuback.
- 26:09Speaker 4: Yeah, Tony, he's a Koubiak now well Gary Kubiak Clint
- 26:17Speaker 4: Kuby at Gary.
- 26:18Speaker 1: Yeah. I don't know if there's any I don't know
- 26:20Speaker 1: if there's any ten.
- 26:23Speaker 4: I feel like living out of the state of Massachusetts,
- 26:26Speaker 4: like to that email, like you be a Patriots fan
- 26:28Speaker 4: if you want to be a Patriots fan. But I
- 26:30Speaker 4: just met so many people that were fans of teams
- 26:33Speaker 4: that they like had zero connection to. But to Paul's point,
- 26:37Speaker 4: we're kind of just bandwagoning, like the Cowboys or the
- 26:40Speaker 4: Lakers or the Yankees or like something like that. And
- 26:43Speaker 4: I don't know, like those people are not for me.
- 26:46Speaker 2: David and Maryland a lot of forged in Foxboro talks. Still,
- 26:50Speaker 2: after hearing way more than seventy two minutes discussion of
- 26:53Speaker 2: a seventy two minute video I hadn't seen yet, I
- 26:56Speaker 2: was feeling a bit curmudgeony, like being around a bunch
- 26:58Speaker 2: of people talking about a movie you haven't seen. But
- 27:01Speaker 2: since Fred is my favorite media mogul, I put it
- 27:04Speaker 2: on as soon as I got home. Wow exclamation point.
- 27:08Speaker 2: In fifty years as a Patriots fan, I have never
- 27:10Speaker 2: seen as much insight into the sauceage being made. Sure
- 27:15Speaker 2: it could have used a bit of polish him in
- 27:17Speaker 2: the air and maybe a few captions, but I agree
- 27:19Speaker 2: that leaving in extra footage rather than cutting it down
- 27:22Speaker 2: was a good move. Two questions quick. One, Why the
- 27:26Speaker 2: two spellings for Foxborough or Foxborough h Ugh? Do we
- 27:30Speaker 2: need to find Eric to ask him? Well, yeah, technically
- 27:34Speaker 2: it's ough. You know, that's how the town was incorporated.
- 27:39Speaker 2: You know what's on the police car, Yeah, that's on
- 27:42Speaker 2: the welcome too. I think the only place that originally
- 27:46Speaker 2: was used O ROH was when we built the old.
- 27:48Speaker 1: Stadium stadium Foxborough Stadium.
- 27:50Speaker 2: Was yeah, And I don't know why they did that.
- 27:52Speaker 10: I don't either, you know, so forget the ending the
- 27:58Speaker 10: h Yeah, there was enough for him on the probably
- 28:02Speaker 10: side like that.
- 28:03Speaker 2: Next in the draft room, right before they pick Henderson,
- 28:06Speaker 2: there's a bunch of discussion about trading the pick. I
- 28:08Speaker 2: could swear they decided to trade, but Elliott goes with
- 28:11Speaker 2: the pick. I rewounded a couple of times but could
- 28:14Speaker 2: not figure out the exchange. Can one of you explain
- 28:17Speaker 2: that it did sound to me the first time that
- 28:20Speaker 2: Elliott over wrote it too, like he he said, no,
- 28:23Speaker 2: we're gonna pick.
- 28:24Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, I had trouble. I know a lot of
- 28:27Speaker 1: people were trying to figure out who they were talking
- 28:29Speaker 1: to and what the most around.
- 28:30Speaker 4: It was Houston. Yeah, and they some of the Houston
- 28:34Speaker 4: writers have actually come out and with their side of it.
- 28:37Speaker 4: They did some digging after watching for it from Foxborough.
- 28:40Speaker 4: So the Texans were trying to come up for Arianti Ersery,
- 28:44Speaker 4: and they ended up they were They wanted to come
- 28:46Speaker 4: up twenty picks originally to go from the fifties to
- 28:49Speaker 4: the thirties with the Patriots to take Ursery. They ended
- 28:52Speaker 4: up trading up ten spots in stick because the trade
- 28:54Speaker 4: didn't go through and they got Ursery. They still got him,
- 28:58Speaker 4: so that at least that's reported. That's that from the
- 29:02Speaker 4: Texans side, the trade was for Ursery.
- 29:05Speaker 7: That's kind of the position the Patriots might have been
- 29:07Speaker 7: in had they not drafted Will Campbell, right like, just
- 29:10Speaker 7: desperately trying to get one of those last potential left
- 29:13Speaker 7: tackles there in the top of the.
- 29:14Speaker 2: Second Dave says, mister Kraft should ask John Williams to
- 29:20Speaker 2: compose a short score. I don't know about that. His
- 29:25Speaker 2: style doesn't lend to getting crazy. You know, you gotta
- 29:30Speaker 2: amp people up, you got to. The other thing I
- 29:32Speaker 2: would change is the order of things. So and we're
- 29:36Speaker 2: not the only ones, but most stadiums they have this
- 29:39Speaker 2: runout and everyone gets site and then they have the anthem,
- 29:43Speaker 2: and then you lose all that momentum. They should do
- 29:45Speaker 2: the anthem. Then they should do the runout and go
- 29:49Speaker 2: right into the game so that everyone is still.
- 29:53Speaker 4: But then the players are on the field for the
- 29:55Speaker 4: So what.
- 29:55Speaker 2: They weren't They used to not always be on the field.
- 29:59Speaker 4: I know that, So what, Well, that's a good point.
- 30:02Speaker 4: I didn't know that Fred.
- 30:04Speaker 1: Monster fight Evan over the anthem.
- 30:05Speaker 4: Now, what are you going to do about it, and
- 30:09Speaker 4: some people might frown upon them not being out there.
- 30:11Speaker 2: And then David also says, what good problem with that?
- 30:17Speaker 8: I do?
- 30:17Speaker 2: Actually, I mean some people which UDFA will make the
- 30:20Speaker 2: fifty three man roster? Who knows?
- 30:23Speaker 1: And Smith? No Jones, Jones, come.
- 30:26Speaker 2: On and come on. And then he asked why did
- 30:28Speaker 2: why doesn't the NFL increase the roster size?
- 30:33Speaker 1: Oh well, why why should you?
- 30:35Speaker 2: I mean they kind of have with the practice squad.
- 30:38Speaker 4: Now, yeah, practice squads beefy.
- 30:40Speaker 2: I mean, I mean, how many guys do you have
- 30:42Speaker 2: to you.
- 30:42Speaker 1: Know, it's in general, there's still I mean, I know
- 30:45Speaker 1: that everybody gets into the game per se, you know,
- 30:49Speaker 1: special teams, but there's a handful of guys every week
- 30:53Speaker 1: that really don't play as it is now with a
- 30:55Speaker 1: forty six man you know, game day roster.
- 30:58Speaker 4: Yeah, I would probably be in favor of having all
- 31:00Speaker 4: fifty three guys active on game day. I never really
- 31:04Speaker 4: understood why they don't have that.
- 31:06Speaker 1: I can give you an explanation for that. Okay, this
- 31:09Speaker 1: is from Bill Belichick, So maybe this isn't in question
- 31:13Speaker 1: now based on some of his decision making. You know
- 31:15Speaker 1: in the recent past. What are you talking about the
- 31:20Speaker 1: fifty three man with the inactives was sort of instituted
- 31:24Speaker 1: to allow teams to not have to make roster moves
- 31:28Speaker 1: when guys weren't available. So rather than put a guy
- 31:31Speaker 1: who might have a hamstring and have to miss a
- 31:33Speaker 1: game on IR and then you lose them, you have
- 31:36Speaker 1: him as one of the game day and actives. In
- 31:38Speaker 1: this way, you might play a game and you might
- 31:40Speaker 1: have two or three guys that are hurt, but the
- 31:42Speaker 1: other team you play might have five or six guys
- 31:44Speaker 1: that are hurt. Is in inequity there. You know, they
- 31:46Speaker 1: didn't want one team having fifty three guys available another
- 31:49Speaker 1: team only having forty eight guys of interest. So yes,
- 31:53Speaker 1: in general, if you know everybody has seven inactives or
- 31:56Speaker 1: six inactives depending on the quarterback situation and all that,
- 32:00Speaker 1: it's a level playing field again.
- 32:02Speaker 4: But now with the practice squad elevations, you could.
- 32:04Speaker 1: Probably there's probably weighs around it.
- 32:06Speaker 4: Right, Like, if you have a guy on your fifty
- 32:09Speaker 4: three who's not going to be able to play because
- 32:10Speaker 4: of injury, then you can call a guy up from
- 32:12Speaker 4: the practice squad and he takes the.
- 32:13Speaker 2: Book, right, And why the number fifty three? It seems random,
- 32:16Speaker 2: like why not fifty five or sixty fifty three?
- 32:20Speaker 4: Took a question too.
- 32:22Speaker 1: I never got that from Bill. Okay, it's fifty two
- 32:24Speaker 1: for a while, right then they just fifty three has
- 32:26Speaker 1: been since I've been in the league too, since since
- 32:28Speaker 1: I've been in the lake. I misremember ninety nine. It
- 32:31Speaker 1: was fifty three, I believe, Yeah, as long as I
- 32:35Speaker 1: can remember. Anyway, if it wasn't, it wasn't. Yeah, I
- 32:38Speaker 1: misremember it wasn't.
- 32:40Speaker 2: Okay, Kyle from Pembroke. Since we're officially in the off season,
- 32:45Speaker 2: I thought i'd give you some Patriots would you rather?
- 32:48Speaker 2: For the twenty twenty five New England page, which who
- 32:51Speaker 2: would you rather have in their prime? This is for
- 32:54Speaker 2: this team twenty five Patriots, Rob Gronkowski or Randy Moss?
- 33:01Speaker 2: I would I would say.
- 33:05Speaker 1: It's it's a tough it's a good would you.
- 33:09Speaker 8: Rather?
- 33:10Speaker 4: I mean, they're both. I just think Hunter Henry is
- 33:12Speaker 4: a little maybe a little bit better than what you
- 33:14Speaker 4: have a receiver, so you kind of already have a service.
- 33:17Speaker 4: Adding the outside receiver would be a little I mean
- 33:20Speaker 4: they're both great picks.
- 33:21Speaker 2: But Teddy Bruski or Dante high Tower, High Tower, Yeah,
- 33:26Speaker 2: probably High Tower yeah, because we got Bobby Spillane.
- 33:30Speaker 7: We got Bobby spilling I mean, I mean, honestly, I
- 33:32Speaker 7: think the game is a little different now. I just
- 33:34Speaker 7: I think ty Tower could play in anything.
- 33:37Speaker 2: Thy Lad, Darrell Reeves or Stefan Gilmour, Tyler, Yeah, would
- 33:44Speaker 2: he because he was a little physical? Would he get
- 33:47Speaker 2: called a lot nowadays?
- 33:51Speaker 1: I don't think anymore now than after that whole Carolina
- 33:55Speaker 1: Panthers Colts thing when is that like three Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 34:01Speaker 1: when they cracked down and everything.
- 34:02Speaker 2: Drew Bledsoe or Drake May right now, right.
- 34:06Speaker 1: Now today, Yeah, I think May has a chance to
- 34:10Speaker 1: be better than him.
- 34:11Speaker 2: But right now, Mac Jones or Bailey Zappy God.
- 34:19Speaker 1: As much as a painsman, I have to say Mac Jones.
- 34:22Speaker 2: Danny Amendola or Jacoby Myers as long as he doesn't
- 34:26Speaker 2: get hurt. Yeah, Vince wilf Work or Richard Seymour. Also,
- 34:34Speaker 2: if the runout song has changed, it should never It
- 34:37Speaker 2: should be never Gonna Stop Me or Dragula by Rob Zombie.
- 34:41Speaker 2: Though I don't think we should change it. So there's
- 34:45Speaker 2: one person so doesn't.
- 34:47Speaker 1: Yeah, there's a handful of people that don't want it changed. Huh.
- 34:50Speaker 1: Just fine.
- 34:50Speaker 4: I like that.
- 34:51Speaker 1: I like, is there some different one? What is it now,
- 34:53Speaker 1: Crazy Crazy Train?
- 34:54Speaker 2: Ozzy?
- 34:56Speaker 4: Well, it actually was the Crazy Training remix last year
- 35:00Speaker 4: Let's go Crazy Train.
- 35:02Speaker 1: Yeah. I didn't like that.
- 35:03Speaker 4: Cycle a little modern twist.
- 35:04Speaker 1: Yeah, but it's just it didn't not you know, like
- 35:06Speaker 1: Crazy Train has kind of that build, and I don't
- 35:08Speaker 1: know that the whole build of the remix of it
- 35:11Speaker 1: just felt off to me, like it's Fred's thing of
- 35:13Speaker 1: wanting to like build up to you know, that moment.
- 35:16Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't think. I mean Ryan situated, He's for
- 35:19Speaker 2: a note, he says. I can't even begin to fathom
- 35:22Speaker 2: why anyone would want to change the Runout music. Last
- 35:25Speaker 2: week it was mentioned that you have to have a
- 35:27Speaker 2: song that gets to the enter Sandman level. To me,
- 35:30Speaker 2: the only way intro music can get to that point
- 35:33Speaker 2: is longevity. Oh Fortuna into Crazy Train is absolutely perfect
- 35:37Speaker 2: and sends chills down your spine once the lights go out,
- 35:41Speaker 2: and that first Oh Fortuna note hits changing it and
- 35:44Speaker 2: I think they did last season would just reset that cycle.
- 35:48Speaker 2: Ps add me to the list of running Out as
- 35:50Speaker 2: a team. I love the show. Keep it up.
- 35:54Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I'd go back. I like the what is that?
- 36:01Speaker 1: That one?
- 36:09Speaker 4: The music talent?
- 36:11Speaker 1: I do like crazy Train, I always and I've always
- 36:13Speaker 1: liked it. I mean, if it's time to change it,
- 36:15Speaker 1: I'm you know.
- 36:16Speaker 2: The first time I was introduced to that song was
- 36:19Speaker 2: Conan the Barbariou.
- 36:21Speaker 7: See, I like, I will say that the I think
- 36:24Speaker 7: it's the Anvil of crom Is the theme song of
- 36:26Speaker 7: co Conam.
- 36:27Speaker 1: But I'd be like, I do that one. That's a
- 36:28Speaker 1: great one too, a lot of drums and stuff. You
- 36:30Speaker 1: want to go classical Conan sometimes you do.
- 36:34Speaker 2: You never watched No, Paul doesn't like the action movies music.
- 36:40Speaker 1: There's a lot that's really not true. Like I watched
- 36:42Speaker 1: Gladiator yesterday.
- 36:46Speaker 4: Because is not good.
- 36:47Speaker 11: Huh.
- 36:48Speaker 1: You've ever been to a Turkish prison? Not that glad.
- 36:53Speaker 2: I hardly know where.
- 36:54Speaker 1: Yeah, there's a I have a weird uh gap in
- 36:58Speaker 1: my sort of eighties movie thing, and it's Arnold movies.
- 37:02Speaker 1: I haven't really seen any of them. And it wasn't
- 37:05Speaker 1: like anything in like intentional, just kind of that was.
- 37:10Speaker 4: I was not a big Arnold guy either.
- 37:13Speaker 2: I like Kindergarten, cop po po.
- 37:16Speaker 4: Cock Yeah, big big slize.
- 37:20Speaker 1: Yeah, that's a great one. That's a classic.
- 37:21Speaker 4: Sliced alone better than Arnold, so fact.
- 37:27Speaker 2: The loan versus I'll take I'll take Arnold.
- 37:30Speaker 1: I mean the dramatic though, so Lee's got a dramatic
- 37:33Speaker 1: side to whom.
- 37:34Speaker 4: Arnold has never made anything close to Rocky So I just.
- 37:38Speaker 1: That's true that even the first ram dramatic.
- 37:41Speaker 4: And Rambo was fantastic.
- 37:43Speaker 7: Then he went full like Schwarzenegger Action heroin too, but
- 37:46Speaker 7: really one skins Chicken a think piece.
- 37:49Speaker 2: What I mean?
- 37:49Speaker 4: What is like depressing, like post traumatic stress? Everything, It's
- 37:53Speaker 4: like actually like good soft body backs, Murdoch love it.
- 37:58Speaker 4: The speech to its to better get some all right?
- 38:02Speaker 2: Eight five five past five hundred is the st long line.
- 38:05Speaker 1: I love us as much as we love it.
- 38:10Speaker 2: Sorry, it's okay.
- 38:11Speaker 1: You could go into the Rocky four if I could.
- 38:16Speaker 4: He's wearing the American flag.
- 38:19Speaker 1: Fuse can change.
- 38:21Speaker 7: Schwartznager never had a soundtrack like Rocky four either, No,
- 38:24Speaker 7: you know, just bangers, just the top the bottom stallone
- 38:28Speaker 7: vincel instrumental didn't matter.
- 38:31Speaker 1: It's awesome.
- 38:31Speaker 4: Hearts on fire so good.
- 38:35Speaker 7: Maybe we could get Vinced the Cola to put an
- 38:37Speaker 7: out music for us. So I don't even know what
- 38:39Speaker 7: that is he did training Montage, He did war the
- 38:42Speaker 7: instrumental from Rocky four.
- 38:44Speaker 4: When he when he lands in Russia on the runway
- 38:47Speaker 4: and they're.
- 38:48Speaker 1: Just hearts on fire.
- 38:49Speaker 4: Yeah, what so good?
- 38:55Speaker 2: Paul immediately.
- 38:57Speaker 4: Falsetto very good. I can't sing sorry Arnold that I.
- 39:05Speaker 1: Love Arnold, I mean, but still still one's got a
- 39:08Speaker 1: wide range of conan terminator, Terminator, even the comedy ones,
- 39:17Speaker 1: some of them later like I saw True Lies.
- 39:19Speaker 4: It's pretty good Batman, Yeah, of course, Oh he was
- 39:23Speaker 4: terrible in that.
- 39:24Speaker 1: My point.
- 39:24Speaker 4: Stan would never mail it in like that.
- 39:27Speaker 1: Dibra.
- 39:28Speaker 7: Yeah, I mean you only mentioned it is the disease
- 39:32Speaker 7: and I'm the cure.
- 39:33Speaker 2: I think I think it.
- 39:35Speaker 1: Was a Cobra.
- 39:35Speaker 2: So there's a story. There's a story that I heard
- 39:38Speaker 2: on one of Paul shows. They were talking about it,
- 39:40Speaker 2: and actually it might have been on Stern. So, you know,
- 39:44Speaker 2: they were the rivals. It was, you know, those they
- 39:46Speaker 2: were the two action guys. And for a while Schwarzenegger
- 39:49Speaker 2: was beating him in the in the box office. He
- 39:52Speaker 2: was making more money, and uh, there was I think
- 39:56Speaker 2: it was the Cobra script and Schwartzenegger hated the script,
- 40:01Speaker 2: but he got it out there. That he was really
- 40:03Speaker 2: really considering that script and and uh for Stallone was like,
- 40:09Speaker 2: so he found out, so he said give me that
- 40:11Speaker 2: script and he said I'll do it and it just tanked.
- 40:14Speaker 1: Well it worked out for Stallone. He got to do
- 40:17Speaker 1: it with Bridget Nielsen, who did Rocky Forward. I think
- 40:19Speaker 1: they got married after that. I liked that great for him.
- 40:22Speaker 1: I thought the bad guy Colbert.
- 40:24Speaker 7: Was great and then he did like the they do
- 40:25Speaker 7: like that was what Satanism was a big thing, you know.
- 40:28Speaker 7: I was like, you gotta fight the Satanists and they
- 40:29Speaker 7: all had their their axes and they ching they'd stand
- 40:33Speaker 7: on the story.
- 40:33Speaker 1: It was scary. The bad guy in Colbert was legit.
- 40:35Speaker 1: He was freaky looking.
- 40:36Speaker 8: Dude.
- 40:37Speaker 1: That guy scares me. He wore like a like a
- 40:39Speaker 1: panty scared me.
- 40:41Speaker 4: I love how he just made it a good thing
- 40:43Speaker 4: for Sylvester Song because he.
- 40:44Speaker 1: Wrote again, it's a good thing for Salon and all
- 40:48Speaker 1: of a sudden it's a great it's a great to
- 40:51Speaker 1: continue working with his wife.
- 40:52Speaker 2: It's a personal you know, maybe not didn't talon what
- 40:55Speaker 2: about women action film barbed Wire to see Barbara.
- 41:03Speaker 1: Love what Pamela Anderson is doing now, she's like all
- 41:06Speaker 1: no makeup. Now she goes out. She looks great. She's
- 41:09Speaker 1: she looks great personally.
- 41:10Speaker 4: I think the best female action movies Kill Bill.
- 41:15Speaker 2: Good one. That's a good one.
- 41:17Speaker 4: You got one, and both of them are fantastic.
- 41:20Speaker 2: That was an excellent one.
- 41:22Speaker 1: Is that Sonya that was kind of in the Schwartzenegger
- 41:28Speaker 1: we're talking female.
- 41:30Speaker 2: But are you guys john Wick fans, you're going to
- 41:33Speaker 2: see the new one?
- 41:35Speaker 4: John Wick is like modern kill Bill to me, right,
- 41:37Speaker 4: like instead of swords, we're fighting with guns now for
- 41:39Speaker 4: the most part. But yeah, very good movie.
- 41:41Speaker 2: But there's one now where what's it called the Well,
- 41:45Speaker 2: it's not it's a woman. He's in it, but only
- 41:47Speaker 2: as a bit part.
- 41:48Speaker 4: Yeahea, his story John Wick story is over.
- 41:52Speaker 2: Yeah, but this is back in time and is a
- 41:54Speaker 2: female John Wick.
- 41:55Speaker 4: I love all the John Wicks.
- 41:57Speaker 1: Yeah, I've never John Yeah.
- 42:00Speaker 4: See, I was actually watching John Wick three, like and
- 42:03Speaker 4: it's one of those movies I can watch for like
- 42:05Speaker 4: twenty minutes and I know what's happening, Like you have
- 42:07Speaker 4: to watch the whole thing.
- 42:08Speaker 1: The dog dies right like that.
- 42:09Speaker 2: That was it one. It's tough, but actually I thought
- 42:12Speaker 2: that's why I watched it. The weakest of all of them.
- 42:15Speaker 1: Yeah, all right, maybe I should have jumped in on
- 42:17Speaker 1: a little, uh.
- 42:18Speaker 2: Stan and Poughkeepsie. What's up? Stan?
- 42:22Speaker 5: Hey you guys hear me a good Yeah?
- 42:26Speaker 12: So I just wanted to ask Christmas salutes to Alex
- 42:29Speaker 12: Ronkonkrev City. And I wanted to ask is the far
- 42:32Speaker 12: Post coming back on the studio as more of like
- 42:35Speaker 12: a regular thing?
- 42:36Speaker 5: Do you know anything about that? Friend?
- 42:37Speaker 1: What did he say? What the far Posts talking?
- 42:42Speaker 2: Yeah? They just recorded one today, awesome.
- 42:47Speaker 12: And then I also wanted to ask full if he
- 42:49Speaker 12: knew about the Duke Stadium mister Kraft.
- 42:52Speaker 5: Is trying to get in effort.
- 42:53Speaker 12: Would that be lost on him?
- 42:56Speaker 2: Yeah? I think I think it's the Perilla family that's
- 42:58Speaker 2: holding it up.
- 43:00Speaker 1: Carry I can promise you that it's not not our fault. Yeah, No,
- 43:03Speaker 1: that's it's funny. I was actually with the mayor of
- 43:06Speaker 1: Everett last week, who but I did not. I did
- 43:11Speaker 1: not bring up the stadium to them. I think it
- 43:14Speaker 1: was appropriate, like we're going to get this doneal one.
- 43:16Speaker 2: No, like you said, it's not Everett that's the problem.
- 43:19Speaker 1: It's not Ever. It it's Boston.
- 43:20Speaker 2: Yeah, thanks, Stan, But I you know, we'll see what happens.
- 43:23Speaker 4: It's a tough like someone that lives in that area.
- 43:27Speaker 1: They're worried about traffic.
- 43:28Speaker 4: It's already it's already a corridor like it's al and it's.
- 43:32Speaker 1: It is hard. It's tough, hard area to navigate. What
- 43:36Speaker 1: about the Celtics. I was reading something that they might
- 43:38Speaker 1: consider getting out of.
- 43:39Speaker 2: It, but that's ten years down the road.
- 43:41Speaker 4: But that's in the same cat like, it's a tough spot.
- 43:44Speaker 4: I understand the idea. And obviously they have the Encore
- 43:48Speaker 4: like there as well, and it would be kind of
- 43:49Speaker 4: like an area that they could make up there between
- 43:52Speaker 4: the Encore and the stadium, but there's really only one road.
- 43:57Speaker 4: The Encore is on the main road and then that's it,
- 44:00Speaker 4: like there's really no other way.
- 44:02Speaker 2: What about public transportation?
- 44:03Speaker 4: Is not a silver line, but it's not good.
- 44:05Speaker 1: They would I think part of the project would be
- 44:08Speaker 1: to put something in. And they also have sort of
- 44:10Speaker 1: encouraged like the water taxi, yeah from from you know,
- 44:15Speaker 1: from the city obviously to come over, which would be
- 44:18Speaker 1: you know, yeah, I think viable.
- 44:20Speaker 4: It's kind of cool. People did it, but drinks. The
- 44:23Speaker 4: concept of the stadium is a it's a great. It
- 44:27Speaker 4: would be a great venue to have, Like, it'd be
- 44:28Speaker 4: a great idea. It just the infrastructure just isn't there
- 44:32Speaker 4: to support.
- 44:33Speaker 1: Yeah, it'd be it'd be a challenge.
- 44:36Speaker 2: Okay, how's the Encore doing?
- 44:38Speaker 1: Is doing very well?
- 44:39Speaker 13: Is it?
- 44:40Speaker 2: Yeah? I've never been there.
- 44:41Speaker 1: It's a nice spot, it's yeah, it's worth it's worth
- 44:44Speaker 1: a trip.
- 44:45Speaker 2: It's expensive, yeah, yeah, like the restaurants everything, Yeah, it's everything.
- 44:49Speaker 1: If you want to play, you want to play the tables.
- 44:51Speaker 1: It's like the minimum minimum minimums are higher, especially if
- 44:54Speaker 1: you go on like a weekend. Yeah, fifty is like
- 44:57Speaker 1: the least you're going to see. It's tough.
- 44:59Speaker 2: Yeah, I was.
- 45:00Speaker 1: I was putting minimums up that were a little bit
- 45:02Speaker 1: more than I was comfortable putting.
- 45:04Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 45:04Speaker 1: Help. I end up doing usually just breaking gone, get out,
- 45:08Speaker 1: break even.
- 45:09Speaker 2: That's great.
- 45:09Speaker 1: Usually break even and get out because I get too
- 45:12Speaker 1: a scared. I'm a scared.
- 45:14Speaker 2: Matthews and Arizona. What's up, Matthew. Matthew calls all the
- 45:22Speaker 2: way from Arizona and then he's not manning his phone.
- 45:28Speaker 2: What's up, Matthew?
- 45:29Speaker 5: Hey, how's going? Hey doing good?
- 45:33Speaker 4: So my question.
- 45:35Speaker 5: Is do you see any parallels between Chuck Fairbanks and
- 45:40Speaker 5: Steve grimbleban to like the brabel in May.
- 45:44Speaker 2: The dynamic Chuck Fairbanks and Grogan.
- 45:48Speaker 1: No, yeah, not really. And I would hope, I mean,
- 45:53Speaker 1: I don't want to be disrespectful here, but I would
- 45:55Speaker 1: hope Drake May is a lot better than Steve Grogan.
- 45:58Speaker 1: But also I think up Fairbanks built at all him.
- 46:02Speaker 1: He was the g he was, He was the one guy.
- 46:05Speaker 1: And I don't think Mike Grabel is being asked to
- 46:07Speaker 1: do that.
- 46:07Speaker 2: At least not yet. No, yeah, no, Now do you
- 46:11Speaker 2: do you bring up Grogan because he was a running
- 46:13Speaker 2: quarterback for his time or like why why that analogy?
- 46:19Speaker 5: Well, I guess in terms of the dynamic you know
- 46:20Speaker 5: with Brogan, the way that he ran more earlier in
- 46:23Speaker 5: his career, more specifically the seventies Patriots. I just I
- 46:26Speaker 5: was looked at old say to him and uh, somebody
- 46:29Speaker 5: gets similarities and how he scrambled like May and you
- 46:33Speaker 5: know Grogan and heard uh fair Banks and more like
- 46:35Speaker 5: Tubbs males kind of guy.
- 46:38Speaker 2: Yeah, And now I hope I don't. I don't see
- 46:41Speaker 2: a similarity there. I hope Grogan, I mean, made doesn't
- 46:45Speaker 2: end up in a neck role.
- 46:46Speaker 1: Well, here's where you know. And I love Steve Grogan,
- 46:49Speaker 1: and he used to be around the organization a lot more.
- 46:52Speaker 1: He's a little older now, so I really enjoyed getting
- 46:55Speaker 1: to know him a little bit. But I would, you know,
- 46:58Speaker 1: sort of the dirty secret that people don't really ever
- 47:01Speaker 1: want to bring up because he's such a beloved figure,
- 47:04Speaker 1: is those seventies teams failed to meet expectations largely because
- 47:08Speaker 1: they didn't have good enough quarterback play. He threw more
- 47:11Speaker 1: interceptions than touchdowns on a consistent basis. He was a
- 47:15Speaker 1: good player, and he was as tough as you know,
- 47:18Speaker 1: I know why everybody loves him. Yeah, you know, tougher
- 47:21Speaker 1: than a three dollars stake. But when it came time
- 47:23Speaker 1: to win a game that they had to win, he
- 47:25Speaker 1: would throw six picks in San Francisco in a game
- 47:27Speaker 1: that they had to have against the terrible team. You know,
- 47:31Speaker 1: That's what I remember most of that era. Now, he
- 47:34Speaker 1: could run. He played in an era where quarterbacks had
- 47:38Speaker 1: much more responsibility. He called his own plays at times unbelievable.
- 47:43Speaker 2: Gamer.
- 47:44Speaker 1: He could play, but he was so inconsistent, and that's
- 47:47Speaker 1: what held those teams back. They were wildly talented teams
- 47:49Speaker 1: that never seemed to win anything. Yeah, that was one
- 47:51Speaker 1: of the craziest things.
- 47:52Speaker 7: My takeaways from watching the eighty five team is that
- 47:55Speaker 7: exact thing. When Easton was in to start the season,
- 47:57Speaker 7: Grogan was signaling in the him, but then when Grogan
- 48:02Speaker 7: went in, he just called this colla. I mean, and
- 48:04Speaker 7: you're watching the coach just sit there watch him so much.
- 48:08Speaker 1: This is interesting now you bring this up now. Now,
- 48:10Speaker 1: in fairness to Grogan, by the time we get to
- 48:12Speaker 1: eighty five, he's in the league ten or twelve years,
- 48:15Speaker 1: so he had suffered a lot of injuries at that point.
- 48:18Speaker 1: But you went back and watched every game as you're
- 48:20Speaker 1: doing prep work for this nineteen eighty five retrospective. Were
- 48:24Speaker 1: going to do a podcast series again in a feature
- 48:26Speaker 1: for the yearbook, And what did you say to me
- 48:28Speaker 1: about the offense?
- 48:29Speaker 7: Oh, run, run, run, basic punt, punt, punt until the defense.
- 48:35Speaker 1: See if they could force a turnover, you know, and
- 48:37Speaker 1: then you know, that was basically what the offense was.
- 48:40Speaker 1: They couldn't move the ball. Whether it was Easan or Grogan,
- 48:43Speaker 1: it was both.
- 48:44Speaker 7: I talked to John Hannah last week too, and he's
- 48:46Speaker 7: just some of the games you're like, they're just running
- 48:49Speaker 7: into a brick wall for three quarters and then in
- 48:51Speaker 7: the fourth quarter, and I asked, you know, Hannah about it,
- 48:54Speaker 7: and he said, yeah, you get to the fourth quarter,
- 48:55Speaker 7: they didn't want to play anymore, and then that was
- 48:57Speaker 7: when we all and you look at even the stats,
- 48:59Speaker 7: it's like all their points are scored in the fourth quarter,
- 49:01Speaker 7: Like they can't do anything for three quarters, but when
- 49:04Speaker 7: the other when the defense finally gets tired out, then
- 49:06Speaker 7: they finally start, you know, opening up some gaps for
- 49:08Speaker 7: Collins and for James, and you know, it's it's just
- 49:10Speaker 7: it's totally different, but in some way, it's kind of
- 49:13Speaker 7: the same.
- 49:13Speaker 2: When I look at.
- 49:14Speaker 7: The basic like what they had to execute to win games,
- 49:18Speaker 7: and those three road playoff games that they won, it
- 49:20Speaker 7: was we got all the takeaways, we capitalized on those takeaways,
- 49:23Speaker 7: we got an early lead, all the things we talk
- 49:25Speaker 7: about with those old Patriots teams the last couple of years,
- 49:28Speaker 7: where it has to be exactly the way they needed
- 49:30Speaker 7: to win the game. And then when they got into
- 49:33Speaker 7: that Super Bowl and they had a little bit of
- 49:35Speaker 7: a chance early on, but once it started snowballing on them,
- 49:37Speaker 7: that they they couldn't they couldn't climb back and go
- 49:40Speaker 7: toe to toe with teams offensively.
- 49:42Speaker 2: No way. David Maine says, I like music too, but
- 49:46Speaker 2: I'll guess I'll be the one to bring up football.
- 49:49Speaker 2: Who do you guys think will be the team captains
- 49:51Speaker 2: this year?
- 49:53Speaker 1: That's a good question that we're bringing up football.
- 49:55Speaker 2: Yeah, I hope Drake.
- 49:57Speaker 1: I thought it was interesting. I think did Res brought
- 49:59Speaker 1: up Harold Landry?
- 49:59Speaker 2: Maybe?
- 50:00Speaker 1: Was that was that one of his that he am?
- 50:02Speaker 4: I Rabel guy.
- 50:03Speaker 1: It would make sense, Rable guy.
- 50:05Speaker 4: I would think it would be a lot of those
- 50:06Speaker 4: types of guys, right, you know Landry Splain, maybe even Splain,
- 50:11Speaker 4: you know guys that Morgan Moses like, guys that are
- 50:15Speaker 4: brought in by Rable Moses could be one to lead
- 50:18Speaker 4: the charge here.
- 50:19Speaker 1: And there's no there's no Patriot captain's left?
- 50:21Speaker 2: Right?
- 50:21Speaker 1: I mean Peppers from that was it technically Dugger even
- 50:26Speaker 1: though he kind of replaced right right? It was either
- 50:30Speaker 1: Peppers at Bentley.
- 50:31Speaker 2: The question is how will they be selected? Will it
- 50:35Speaker 2: truly be a team vote or will it be Vrabel
- 50:39Speaker 2: you know, I don't know, or a combination thereof.
- 50:42Speaker 1: Yeah, which I think he usually is is usually a combination.
- 50:46Speaker 2: Thoughts I'll have a nomination committee and then they'll open
- 50:49Speaker 2: it to a fan.
- 50:50Speaker 1: Thoughts on captains useless you don't like I mean not
- 50:55Speaker 1: that I don't like him. I think leadership on your foot,
- 50:57Speaker 1: on your team, any sport, but football especially I think
- 51:00Speaker 1: is extremely important. I don't care who the captain is.
- 51:02Speaker 1: I just do good leaders.
- 51:04Speaker 2: Okay, but by giving them that title, it gives I
- 51:07Speaker 2: need a little bit more support.
- 51:10Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm not anti captain. I'm not like Bill. I
- 51:12Speaker 1: can't put a c on, you know, on the guy's
- 51:15Speaker 1: chest because you know, we played football for fifty years
- 51:17Speaker 1: without that. No, I have no problems recognizing your captains.
- 51:21Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't think captains are kind of useless, and
- 51:23Speaker 4: I think that the players would largely agree with that.
- 51:26Speaker 1: But yeah, okay, I think because you need a strong locker.
- 51:29Speaker 4: Room because I don't think it's like captains when you're
- 51:32Speaker 4: growing up, like in high school football or high school
- 51:34Speaker 4: sports like, so that is different to me than these
- 51:37Speaker 4: are professional athletes.
- 51:38Speaker 2: I yeah, but from an organization, from a locker room
- 51:42Speaker 2: organization standpoint, it's good to have those people. Like you
- 51:45Speaker 2: need to organize the meeting, you talk to the captain,
- 51:48Speaker 2: you need to get something done, you talk to the
- 51:49Speaker 2: captain and then they get it done. So it's like
- 51:52Speaker 2: your go to person who has been given that time.
- 51:56Speaker 4: There's some truth to that, and they have the captain's
- 51:58Speaker 4: meeting still at the coach where the coach kind of
- 52:00Speaker 4: it's the temperature of things and that there's value in that.
- 52:03Speaker 4: But there's also in my time on the beat, there's
- 52:06Speaker 4: guys that were clearly the leaders of the team that
- 52:08Speaker 4: weren't wearing the sea for politics or you know, some
- 52:12Speaker 4: other reason. Most likely I mean literal politics. I mean
- 52:15Speaker 4: like a team in politics.
- 52:17Speaker 1: Like they didn't go like to the OTAs when Bill
- 52:20Speaker 1: wanted them too, right, they didn't win that, they didn't
- 52:22Speaker 1: win the vote that year.
- 52:24Speaker 4: You know, when he was here. You know, just to
- 52:27Speaker 4: use a recent example, like Matthew Judon was the Patriots
- 52:31Speaker 4: for a period of time and in you know, twenty
- 52:34Speaker 4: twenty one, twenty twenty two is his team and he
- 52:37Speaker 4: was never a captain, you know, like Joy Demon was
- 52:40Speaker 4: never a captain.
- 52:41Speaker 2: Was McGinnis never a captain? Paul?
- 52:44Speaker 1: I think so, but I don't. Yeah, that's like it's
- 52:46Speaker 1: not something that resonates with me. Like I couldn't tell
- 52:49Speaker 1: you who the captains were.
- 52:50Speaker 7: I feel like you write that, I'd write that article
- 52:51Speaker 7: at the beginning of the year, and then you kind
- 52:53Speaker 7: of forget forget. But I think like to the point
- 52:56Speaker 7: there is like yeah, there, like there is some element
- 52:59Speaker 7: of just the functionality of the team, Like the captains
- 53:02Speaker 7: have to meet, they have to have leadership committee that plans,
- 53:04Speaker 7: you know, like there's that kind of thing. But like
- 53:06Speaker 7: overall for the the guys, like it doesn't really matter
- 53:09Speaker 7: to a pro football team who the guys.
- 53:10Speaker 1: That's why I see what Evan's talking about, Like when
- 53:14Speaker 1: you grow up and you're playing sports, like the captains
- 53:17Speaker 1: were not necessarily just because they were good leaders. It's
- 53:20Speaker 1: like a high school football team. The captain's running. Captains practices, right,
- 53:24Speaker 1: the captains making sure everybody's way they're supposed to be
- 53:26Speaker 1: when it because he's doing all of that communication work
- 53:29Speaker 1: because that's part of high school sports. You know, that's
- 53:32Speaker 1: what captains do, right, you know when you're growing up now,
- 53:37Speaker 1: I think it's just it's just important to have a
- 53:39Speaker 1: strong locker room, like and if you have bad captains,
- 53:42Speaker 1: maybe that's part and parcels. So maybe you're right, maybe
- 53:45Speaker 1: the captains have more to do with a strong locker room.
- 53:48Speaker 1: But like I looked at guys like Devin mccordy and
- 53:52Speaker 1: Matthew Slater, like those guys were leaders, whether they had
- 53:56Speaker 1: a captain or not, Like they were going to be
- 53:58Speaker 1: guys that did things the right way and guys followed them,
- 54:01Speaker 1: you know what I mean? Yeah, selling football too, because
- 54:03Speaker 1: in hockey you need like to have a seat to
- 54:05Speaker 1: talk to the ref like there's an actual functionality to it,
- 54:08Speaker 1: like in general, the quarterback like on offense, right, and
- 54:15Speaker 1: quarterbacks not always.
- 54:15Speaker 2: A basketball It's not like it's not a big deal.
- 54:19Speaker 4: A lot of teams don't even have one.
- 54:20Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, and then baseball the same thing they don't have.
- 54:25Speaker 4: But he had the only time I you know, so
- 54:30Speaker 4: now I he said in a press conference recently, and
- 54:33Speaker 4: everybody was kind of like, wait what And I guess
- 54:35Speaker 4: Jalen Brown is technically the captain of the Celtics. I
- 54:38Speaker 4: didn't yea and yeah, and he like just like kind
- 54:41Speaker 4: of in passing mentioned it and was like, yeah, you know,
- 54:46Speaker 4: Paul Pierce was. They gave him the captaincy because KG
- 54:49Speaker 4: came in and KG was a leader like that guy was,
- 54:53Speaker 4: and so they called him the captain because he was
- 54:56Speaker 4: the longer tenured Celtic and it was kind of this
- 54:58Speaker 4: uncomfortable thing, and so they made him the captain.
- 55:01Speaker 2: He was the truth.
- 55:02Speaker 4: He was a captain and the truth.
- 55:04Speaker 2: Oh a chucker, it's the truth, Okayn Cody says, how
- 55:10Speaker 2: about a little change to the runout before the music stops?
- 55:13Speaker 2: You here, Captain America, yell Avengers, music stops, all the
- 55:17Speaker 2: lights go out, and then you hear assemble. Now absolutely,
- 55:22Speaker 2: I think Matt Morrell sent that in. Actually all right,
- 55:25Speaker 2: we're going to take a break. More call friends.
- 55:28Speaker 8: Yeah.

- 57:22Speaker 8: you've seen it.
- 57:23Speaker 2: You're working as well and some of the young guys.
- 57:25Speaker 1: How much pride you taking that and what's your message
- 57:27Speaker 1: to that.
- 57:28Speaker 8: I think it's the biggest thing.
- 57:29Speaker 3: You know.
- 57:29Speaker 8: I've been blessed to be under a lot of great tackles.
- 57:32Speaker 15: You know, I played with Trent Williams for five six
- 57:34Speaker 15: years and just being able to learn from him and
- 57:38Speaker 15: just take it on the field, you know, it's vital
- 57:40Speaker 15: because you know, being a vet that's played twelve years
- 57:42Speaker 15: and being able to sprinkle those little things to those
- 57:45Speaker 15: guys to see them, you know, use them in practice
- 57:47Speaker 15: and get better and just.
- 57:48Speaker 8: Build a you know, build a tool a toolbox for themselves.
- 57:52Speaker 8: You know, it's it's good for everybody specifically. What do
- 57:55Speaker 8: you think about will so far Man.
- 57:57Speaker 15: Is the way you'repproaches the game man. He's eager to learn.
- 58:01Speaker 15: He asks questions every day. He's like, bro, can we
- 58:03Speaker 15: get some sets and just talking football? You know, his
- 58:05Speaker 15: lockers right beside mind, so we get to talk about
- 58:07Speaker 15: football all day.
- 58:09Speaker 8: And obviously he's a stub man.
- 58:10Speaker 15: He's played great football in college and so now he's
- 58:13Speaker 15: just trying to figure it out where like, you know,
- 58:15Speaker 15: every week you're going against somebody that has a guy,
- 58:17Speaker 15: so you know, just fine tuning, not trying to change stuff,
- 58:21Speaker 15: but just fine tuning the things he's learned in college
- 58:23Speaker 15: and taking him to the NFL and just on on
- 58:25Speaker 15: the field and getting challenged every day.
- 58:28Speaker 4: Or I did see you, un if Is that just past?
- 58:34Speaker 15: Yeah, you know, just pacing things out, you know, obviously
- 58:36Speaker 15: you know, I feel great, you know, coming back from
- 58:38Speaker 15: the knee surgery and stuff like that, but just getting
- 58:39Speaker 15: acclimated getting out there running around with the guys. But
- 58:42Speaker 15: I'm happy to put that helmet on and put that
- 58:43Speaker 15: jersey on and get out there and running with the fella.
- 58:45Speaker 8: So it's been good.
- 58:46Speaker 2: How long the sign time Pork was in you to
- 58:48Speaker 2: be here for these workouts?
- 58:49Speaker 5: Oh?
- 58:49Speaker 8: Really really important.
- 58:50Speaker 15: And obviously we got a young group, you know, we
- 58:52Speaker 15: got a young office line, and so just being able
- 58:54Speaker 15: to get around them, you know, create that brotherhood, that
- 58:57Speaker 15: chemistry you know, and uh, and just bring him along
- 59:00Speaker 15: is very is very important.
- 59:01Speaker 16: What kind of things are you doing to you know,
- 59:03Speaker 16: I guess organically create a brother There's some new cases
- 59:07Speaker 16: and bread and in the draft.
- 59:10Speaker 8: Well, you know, just number one. You know, we got
- 59:12Speaker 8: we got a young room.
- 59:13Speaker 15: You know, we got a lot of guys that's that's
- 59:14Speaker 15: trying to figure it out themselves. So just being a
- 59:16Speaker 15: voice in that room bring them along, whether it's like
- 59:18Speaker 15: you know, us going out to dinners you know, uh,
- 59:20Speaker 15: you know, or just you know, staying after after practice
- 59:23Speaker 15: when everything is done and watching film together and just
- 59:26Speaker 15: just spit all everybody's ideas, you know, I know, you know,
- 59:28Speaker 15: Garrett's been phenomenal for the room as a veteran center
- 59:32Speaker 15: as long as the West as well. You know, I
- 59:33Speaker 15: played with Wes before, and so when you bring those
- 59:36Speaker 15: knowledgeable players into one room and we can sit down
- 59:39Speaker 15: and just you know, just share football and what we see,
- 59:42Speaker 15: you know, and just being able to talk about it,
- 59:44Speaker 15: right because like obviously my eyes might be a little
- 59:46Speaker 15: bit different than Will's and the younger guys because I've
- 59:48Speaker 15: been playing for for for.
- 59:50Speaker 8: A long time.
- 59:51Speaker 15: So just being able to you know, spit that knowledge
- 59:53Speaker 15: to them and help them see what I see to
- 59:55Speaker 15: bring them along as as vital.
- 59:58Speaker 11: More practice about how this a challenging time to hear
- 1:00:01Speaker 11: for the offense und because there's no contact, you know,
- 1:00:04Speaker 11: just can't do everything yes, this time, you're what's the
- 1:00:07Speaker 11: most important thing for an offense? I want to make
- 1:00:09Speaker 11: you guys out of work.
- 1:00:12Speaker 15: We were just talking about it just a couple of
- 1:00:14Speaker 15: minutes ago over there, you know. You know, office line
- 1:00:17Speaker 15: is a unique position because in the offseason you're training
- 1:00:19Speaker 15: against a bag all day, you know, and then you
- 1:00:21Speaker 15: got to go out there and block a live, moving object,
- 1:00:23Speaker 15: and so it takes a it takes the guys a
- 1:00:25Speaker 15: little bit time to get acclimated to the speed and stuff.
- 1:00:28Speaker 15: But you know, really just coming out coming out here,
- 1:00:30Speaker 15: you know, learning the plays, being in the huddle, listening
- 1:00:32Speaker 15: to Drake, seeing what Drake c's, everybody being on the
- 1:00:35Speaker 15: same the same cord, and just playing football and having fun.
- 1:00:39Speaker 8: You know, we're building the identity.
- 1:00:40Speaker 15: We got a lot of new players, We got a
- 1:00:42Speaker 15: lot of young players that are that are gonna be
- 1:00:43Speaker 15: out there playing this year, and so just getting them
- 1:00:45Speaker 15: comfortable with the schemes and the terminology so we can
- 1:00:48Speaker 15: go out there and play fast.
- 1:00:49Speaker 8: We can get.
- 1:00:51Speaker 2: The way he's carried himself. He communicates with these guys, and.
- 1:00:55Speaker 15: Well he's the a CEC guy, so I can't complain
- 1:00:57Speaker 15: about that. But now his leadership, you know, obviously, you know,
- 1:01:01Speaker 15: he's been in the league going on his second year.
- 1:01:03Speaker 15: He's seen some things on the field last year, but
- 1:01:05Speaker 15: just getting them comfortable, you know, knowing that the guys
- 1:01:07Speaker 15: in front of them that are blocking formed, that's they're
- 1:01:08Speaker 15: going to do their job.
- 1:01:09Speaker 8: They're going to communicate with him and you know, things
- 1:01:11Speaker 8: that we need.
- 1:01:12Speaker 15: And that's what this is about, is just you know,
- 1:01:14Speaker 15: not just you know, just learning the playbook, but learning
- 1:01:17Speaker 15: one another. You know, seeing you know, what he sees
- 1:01:19Speaker 15: and what he expects us out of our as our
- 1:01:22Speaker 15: quarterback and our leader, and just going out there and
- 1:01:24Speaker 15: just capitalizing.
- 1:01:26Speaker 2: Take two more guys too, more. Yeah, surgery? Was that
- 1:01:29Speaker 2: from a player with the Patriots him? What is it
- 1:01:32Speaker 2: this game that they see you want to play through
- 1:01:35Speaker 2: this stage?
- 1:01:37Speaker 8: No, it was week three, Thursday night.
- 1:01:41Speaker 15: But just the fact that I still come out here
- 1:01:44Speaker 15: and I still feel like I can learn, you know,
- 1:01:46Speaker 15: you know, when you come in the building every day
- 1:01:48Speaker 15: and you got the urge just to learn.
- 1:01:49Speaker 8: And and I tease Will about it all the time.
- 1:01:51Speaker 15: I said, Will, like the things you did in college,
- 1:01:53Speaker 15: I didn't do twelve years ago. So you know, I'm
- 1:01:56Speaker 15: learning from them just as much as I'm they're learning
- 1:01:58Speaker 15: from me. And when you come with that mind set,
- 1:02:00Speaker 15: the you know, the window for for you just as
- 1:02:02Speaker 15: a growing as a player and as a person is
- 1:02:05Speaker 15: always open.
- 1:02:05Speaker 8: So I still enjoy the grind.
- 1:02:07Speaker 15: I still join being out here with the guys and
- 1:02:09Speaker 15: and just learning from them and you them learning from me.
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: The tempo, it seems if you guys kind of get
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: it's may point if you guys kind of tick prompts
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: at the defense of the pool a little bit, and
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: there's a lot of position.
- 1:02:25Speaker 15: Yeah, I mean, I don't I don't think it's uh,
- 1:02:27Speaker 15: you know, it's football, man. At the end of the day,
- 1:02:29Speaker 15: I don't think there's a way that you can really
- 1:02:30Speaker 15: ease into it, you know.
- 1:02:31Speaker 8: I say one thing.
- 1:02:32Speaker 15: You know, it's obviously you know, guys been working out
- 1:02:34Speaker 15: all in the off season, but footballs are playing football
- 1:02:37Speaker 15: is a different type of football shape. So getting guys
- 1:02:38Speaker 15: out there and all although we're not going hard and
- 1:02:41Speaker 15: we're learning, you know, obviously with a young team, we're
- 1:02:43Speaker 15: learning how to practice the right way, you know, keep
- 1:02:45Speaker 15: guys off the ground. And then also you know, just
- 1:02:48Speaker 15: being we got a great defense out there, you know,
- 1:02:50Speaker 15: the defense, they got a lot of a lot of
- 1:02:52Speaker 15: young players and they're they're coming, but being able to
- 1:02:54Speaker 15: have those conversations in between plays. You'll see guys over
- 1:02:57Speaker 15: there like Keon k c over there, you know, ground
- 1:03:00Speaker 15: younger guys like Will and say, hey, man, I think
- 1:03:02Speaker 15: you should change this up, you know.
- 1:03:03Speaker 8: And that's what this is about. Learning from your teammates.
- 1:03:06Speaker 15: So when you go into training camp, you get into
- 1:03:07Speaker 15: the season, you're the best police player you can be.
- 1:03:11Speaker 8: Thanks Mory, yep napam. I appreciate y'all. Thank you.

- 1:04:45Speaker 16: If so, I would like to call out Todd in
- 1:04:47Speaker 16: North Carolina for being a fraud whoa a week or
- 1:04:50Speaker 16: two ago you called him out for all the background
- 1:04:52Speaker 16: noise when he called into the show. He claimed he
- 1:04:54Speaker 16: didn't know why there was so much noise and he might.
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: Have been doing dishes or something. I have a hard
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: time believing this story.
- 1:05:00Speaker 7: Why would he know well, why would he not know
- 1:05:02Speaker 7: what he was doing when he called him the show?
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: It seems like something.
- 1:05:05Speaker 7: You remember love you, Todd, just having fun? Uh, and
- 1:05:09Speaker 7: then he calls us out for our background noise.
- 1:05:11Speaker 2: So let's go to Todd, North Carolina.
- 1:05:16Speaker 8: Todd, if you called it.
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: Perfect, If you did that on purpose, that was good,
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: well done, my friend. No, I don't think you did
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: a purpose. All right, that's another great moment from.
- 1:05:32Speaker 2: All right back here and Patriots Unfiltered A five to

- 1:05:50Speaker 2: for you for confirmation.
- 1:05:51Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: Correct. Nice on the special one last week.
- 1:05:54Speaker 2: Yeah, I thought it was a good one.
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: I learned a lot about Paul as you really I
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: wanted to thank everybody. I'm glad you brought that up,
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: because you guys sent in a ton of questions, and
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: whenever you agree to do one of those, you're like, well,
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: no one's going to ask me anything. No one cared like.
- 1:06:09Speaker 1: It was totally the opposite. So I appreciate the questions.
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: There's a lot of good ones, and yeah, I look
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: forward to doing it again sometime soon. I had a
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: lot of fun doing that. Yeah, everyone's looking at me.
- 1:06:23Speaker 2: It was this sort of like a Reddit thing where ama.
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: Anything but not anything. No, Well I answered everything. They
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: didn't all get in. Yeah, I'll put it that way.
- 1:06:34Speaker 2: Well, we have to be careful like to not contradict
- 1:06:38Speaker 2: our sponsors.
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: Yeah, you know. Yeah, so I couldn't get my new car, sure,
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: as much as I tried.
- 1:06:46Speaker 2: Matt writes in just listening to the beginning of the show,
- 1:06:50Speaker 2: the part where they're discussing the entrance song. Since you
- 1:06:52Speaker 2: mentioned Hans zimmer and orchestral film music, I was thinking
- 1:06:56Speaker 2: of also sprack Zarazustra, remember that one, yes, Richard Strauss,
- 1:07:00Speaker 2: which was used in the opening scene of the movie
- 1:07:02Speaker 2: two thousand and one of Space Odyssey. The resonating could
- 1:07:09Speaker 2: make for the great opening in the stadium. Keep up
- 1:07:12Speaker 2: the great work. Greetings from Cologne, Germany.
- 1:07:16Speaker 7: Does it have to have some kind of connection to
- 1:07:19Speaker 7: the patriots in some way? I know it doesn't now
- 1:07:21Speaker 7: and it probably doesn't really need to. But if you
- 1:07:23Speaker 7: were in a perfect.
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: World, would it, like I think some of the songs
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: the perfect world, you know, do any of the iconic
- 1:07:31Speaker 1: songs have something specific to do with the teams that they.
- 1:07:33Speaker 7: Well, I was trying to associate it with Google search, Paul,
- 1:07:36Speaker 7: and it's it's it sounds like some people do have
- 1:07:40Speaker 7: like Seven Nation Army, Bear Down, Chicago Bears, Miami Dolphins
- 1:07:43Speaker 7: fight Song, Fly Eagles five. I mean, it does sound
- 1:07:45Speaker 7: like some teams have their own songs Minnesota Vikings fight
- 1:07:49Speaker 7: song when the scene's still marching in.
- 1:07:52Speaker 1: But those are those are songs like Bear Down, Chicago Bears,
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: and Fly Eagles Spy. Those are like their like the themes,
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: but they play it after every touchdow right.
- 1:08:01Speaker 4: Right, So I think does a banger the Dolphins song.
- 1:08:06Speaker 1: Don't the command the Dolphins and the Oil is song
- 1:08:09Speaker 1: was to me the same, I think someone someone, That's true,
- 1:08:12Speaker 1: someone copied the other one. I don't know who was first,
- 1:08:15Speaker 1: but it was the Miami Dolphins and the Houston.
- 1:08:18Speaker 2: Oil the same exact song.
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: Dolphins did they yes, just because the division team and
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: we hate them. My memory, well, the Oil has happened
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: around longer. It's true, well not anymore, but you know
- 1:08:32Speaker 1: what I.
- 1:08:32Speaker 7: Mean, along the lines of the San Diego Supercharger song
- 1:08:35Speaker 7: that they used to.
- 1:08:36Speaker 4: Play also great.
- 1:08:38Speaker 1: Like to me, those the Patriots and were like the
- 1:08:42Speaker 1: theme songs like you know, like whatever watching songs like
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: a lot of different teams like the Hail to the
- 1:08:49Speaker 1: Red not the Redskins anymore, but a lot of teams
- 1:08:53Speaker 1: have those kinds of songs.
- 1:08:54Speaker 4: Isn't that just Hell to the Victors? Though? Do they
- 1:08:56Speaker 4: just steal that from.
- 1:08:57Speaker 1: No, it's Hail to the Redskins.
- 1:09:03Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, that's it sounds similar.
- 1:09:08Speaker 1: To the Victor's value and that's difference.
- 1:09:09Speaker 2: That's fairly recess.
- 1:09:12Speaker 1: I can't sing, you know so like, but my question is.
- 1:09:16Speaker 2: It's a recent song, So how did like the fans
- 1:09:19Speaker 2: adopt it so quickly? Which so Fly Eagles Fly.
- 1:09:23Speaker 4: I don't know if they love it.
- 1:09:25Speaker 2: I know they do it.
- 1:09:25Speaker 4: It's a good song.
- 1:09:26Speaker 2: If we tried to introduce a new song like that
- 1:09:28Speaker 2: for the stadium to sing, no one would do it, right,
- 1:09:30Speaker 2: No fans.
- 1:09:31Speaker 1: This is the stupidest. When I get t J and
- 1:09:34Speaker 1: really really annoyed to this day, like he's like in
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: a really bad mood, I'll just sing Fly Eagles Fly,
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: and like if he had a knife in his hand,
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: he stabbed me in the eyeball, like he was so
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: mad that like he went to that Super Bowl. Mike,
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: you don't know, going to You've told me many times
- 1:09:51Speaker 1: he went to the super Bowl. He got to go,
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: he went, How did he get to go? You did
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: look at that you're bringing family members.
- 1:09:58Speaker 2: But it just seems like our fan base. And it's
- 1:10:00Speaker 2: not just the Patriots. I think it's like, well, the
- 1:10:03Speaker 2: Red Sox, they sing sweet Carol whatever, but we don't
- 1:10:08Speaker 2: like to like just let loose, you know, we're too
- 1:10:11Speaker 2: laid back. Not laid back, we're too uptight.
- 1:10:15Speaker 4: I like the Red Sox dirty Water works, but that's
- 1:10:18Speaker 4: after they win.
- 1:10:19Speaker 2: I hate Oh no, I hate that song. What that
- 1:10:23Speaker 2: song is terrible? All the except for shipping up to Boston.
- 1:10:28Speaker 2: All these Boston songs are terrible.
- 1:10:31Speaker 4: That's that's a bad take. Dirty Water is great after
- 1:10:34Speaker 4: they win, like the it's a awful song.
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: I mean, but that's so angry.
- 1:10:39Speaker 2: But I'm not angry.
- 1:10:40Speaker 4: I'm just iconic. And they played testing right afterwards. It's great.
- 1:10:47Speaker 7: You're right, though, the Boston fans would not allow us
- 1:10:49Speaker 7: to like write a song, like if we wrote a
- 1:10:52Speaker 7: song to.
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: Cool you know, so I kind of agree with really hard.
- 1:10:57Speaker 2: I remember back in the late nineties, we had a
- 1:11:01Speaker 2: guy named Andy Waznchuk who was like he was like
- 1:11:05Speaker 2: Tom really the GM but he was son of like
- 1:11:08Speaker 2: the money man, Like, you know, we oversaw the cap
- 1:11:10Speaker 2: and all that, and he said to me, we need
- 1:11:12Speaker 2: to come up with like a slogan, like something that
- 1:11:15Speaker 2: we you know, say and that we do during the game.
- 1:11:19Speaker 2: So we came up with blue Thunder white Lightning. So
- 1:11:23Speaker 2: like the blue thunder was the defense and the white
- 1:11:26Speaker 2: lightning was the offense, and like it went over like
- 1:11:29Speaker 2: a lead balloon.
- 1:11:30Speaker 1: It was on the media guy that yeah, it's kind
- 1:11:34Speaker 1: of like creating a tradition, Like you can't create a tradition,
- 1:11:36Speaker 1: like we're going to create a new tradition here. Like
- 1:11:38Speaker 1: it just so, and Evan's right. I would say that
- 1:11:42Speaker 1: Evan embodies most Red Sox fans thoughts of sweet Caroline dirty.
- 1:11:47Speaker 8: Right.
- 1:11:48Speaker 1: No one really likes it, okay, But at the same time,
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: I really respect the organic nature that it started and
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: now it's become this huge thing. Again, I'm not telling
- 1:11:58Speaker 1: you that you have to like it, but that's how
- 1:12:02Speaker 1: those things happen. Someone plays a song and all of
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: a sudden they start singing it. Yeah, but then to
- 1:12:08Speaker 1: play it again the next song, and all of a
- 1:12:09Speaker 1: sudden you have a tradition.
- 1:12:11Speaker 2: You can't just.
- 1:12:11Speaker 4: Six happened in Pittsburgh, right, Like, I'm sure it's probably similar.
- 1:12:15Speaker 2: It's a good, good example.
- 1:12:16Speaker 1: I don't know how it started, but I think those
- 1:12:18Speaker 1: things are pretty cool. Now Again, I kind of agree
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: with Evan Sweet Caroline is not the best song for
- 1:12:25Speaker 1: something like that, But I do respect the fact that
- 1:12:27Speaker 1: they do it and that it's caught on as much
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: as I don't.
- 1:12:30Speaker 4: Mind the song. Actually, it's just like they play it
- 1:12:33Speaker 4: no matter what the score is, so like to me,
- 1:12:36Speaker 4: like what I like about one tradition with the Patriots
- 1:12:39Speaker 4: is Josie. But like Josie's gonna say that Josie is
- 1:12:41Speaker 4: only when it's a big moment or they're winning in
- 1:12:44Speaker 4: the fourth quarter and we're celebrating.
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: Haven't heard it since like twenty one.
- 1:12:48Speaker 4: Right, but like you know, that's when that That's what
- 1:12:51Speaker 4: I like about Josie. Like Sweet Caroline. The Red Sox
- 1:12:54Speaker 4: can be down ten to nothing in the in the
- 1:12:56Speaker 4: eight inning and then here comes Sweet Caroline.
- 1:12:58Speaker 2: I agree with it.
- 1:12:59Speaker 1: It's like, shouldn't it doesn't bother me? Like it bothers
- 1:13:02Speaker 1: a lot of Red Sox fans, but it does bother me.
- 1:13:06Speaker 4: It doesn't. It doesn't bother me as much as it
- 1:13:08Speaker 4: bothers other people.
- 1:13:09Speaker 2: It's like the wave of sing along songs, you know.
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: But but I know, mister Bright's side is that song
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: now like new generation. Every like college stadium does that
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: now and the place goes crazy.
- 1:13:20Speaker 4: They do the e song, No, No, the Killers Killers, mister.
- 1:13:24Speaker 2: I'm thinking of mister Sunshine.
- 1:13:26Speaker 4: Mister mister mister Brightside is like the new one. And
- 1:13:33Speaker 4: now every state, like every a lot of football teams
- 1:13:36Speaker 4: do mister Brightside now, and everybody thinks that it's their song,
- 1:13:40Speaker 4: Like they think it's their song in Buffalo, and I'm
- 1:13:42Speaker 4: like every every stadium, but mister bright Side, you.
- 1:13:45Speaker 2: Can't do well.
- 1:13:45Speaker 7: That's what I like about Josie though, because that was organic, right,
- 1:13:48Speaker 7: that was the twenty fourteen again, like just a moment
- 1:13:51Speaker 7: that it was playing and it was and it's that song, right,
- 1:13:54Speaker 7: you know, and they play.
- 1:13:56Speaker 1: It on the Sports Hub, I think on Fridays and
- 1:13:58Speaker 1: you know, on Zoe's show, and it's this thing and
- 1:14:01Speaker 1: it became a thing. Yeah, that's how it has to happen.
- 1:14:06Speaker 2: Let's see that one Boston fan. That's what he goes by.
- 1:14:08Speaker 2: He says, question why not ask bon Jovi to make
- 1:14:11Speaker 2: a song for the Patriots, could even have Evans sing
- 1:14:13Speaker 2: a verse Our House kind of.
- 1:14:17Speaker 1: Did that's right, I asked him to do that.
- 1:14:19Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, do we like our House after touchdown?
- 1:14:23Speaker 1: I mean it's not my favorite.
- 1:14:25Speaker 4: I like the old one, but that person's also canceled.
- 1:14:28Speaker 4: I'm pretty sure.
- 1:14:29Speaker 1: So what was the old one?
- 1:14:32Speaker 4: The old one in the beginning of the dynasty. I'm
- 1:14:34Speaker 4: not a music person. I'm not going to sing it,
- 1:14:36Speaker 4: but yeah, that that's I think it's like Zombie Nation
- 1:14:41Speaker 4: or something like that. I think it was what it
- 1:14:43Speaker 4: was called. No, it might be the Bruins.
- 1:14:45Speaker 2: One's yeah, zombie.
- 1:14:48Speaker 4: It got canceled because the artist got canceled.
- 1:14:50Speaker 2: Oh really, I don't know what you're talking about.
- 1:14:54Speaker 1: It wasn't Gary Glitter about cancel I'm gonna say we
- 1:15:01Speaker 1: had two different songs.
- 1:15:02Speaker 4: That got canceled that that one was better.
- 1:15:06Speaker 1: I have nothing against bon Jovie. I like a lot
- 1:15:09Speaker 1: of bon Jovie songs. I don't particularly like that one.
- 1:15:12Speaker 1: This is our House. I don't think that's it. It's
- 1:15:14Speaker 1: not a banger. Kender Roy would not have wanted that.
- 1:15:16Speaker 1: At his birthday party, said his birthday.
- 1:15:20Speaker 2: Party Eric says the key to a new song is
- 1:15:24Speaker 2: making it vaguely familiar. Fly Eagles has a classic marching
- 1:15:29Speaker 2: band feel that goes right along with the game. That's
- 1:15:31Speaker 2: why it was so easy to adopt. Any attempt at
- 1:15:34Speaker 2: a new song by the Patriots needs to touch upon
- 1:15:36Speaker 2: that familiarity so that fans will be open to it,
- 1:15:39Speaker 2: because although they may not have heard the song, they
- 1:15:42Speaker 2: do recognize the vibe.
- 1:15:44Speaker 1: Yeah, the marching band songs, to me are different, and
- 1:15:48Speaker 1: I do think that there's a handful of teams that have,
- 1:15:51Speaker 1: like you know, the bare down Chicago Bears is a
- 1:15:53Speaker 1: kind of a marching band song too. Those those are
- 1:15:56Speaker 1: different than like Renegade for Pittsburgh. Yeah, I think it's cool.
- 1:16:01Speaker 1: It is cool, And so they do that every game. Yeah,
- 1:16:04Speaker 1: and the third quarter, right, yeah, after they they waited
- 1:16:07Speaker 1: for a.
- 1:16:07Speaker 4: Moment, No third and fourth quarter. Oh yeah, Okay, I
- 1:16:11Speaker 4: thought they go into that.
- 1:16:12Speaker 1: That's a way they'll do it, even if they're getting waxed, right,
- 1:16:15Speaker 1: I think so.
- 1:16:16Speaker 2: I don't think. I don't think that's correct.
- 1:16:18Speaker 4: I mean every game I've ever been doing is correct.
- 1:16:21Speaker 2: I thought that they play it when they need, like
- 1:16:24Speaker 2: to get everybody up because they're staging a comeback little something.
- 1:16:29Speaker 4: I mean, it's definitely happens late in the game. It
- 1:16:31Speaker 4: does happen late in the game. Every game I've been
- 1:16:33Speaker 4: to Pittsburgh, it happens.
- 1:16:34Speaker 2: In between the he be a reason why they played it.
- 1:16:37Speaker 4: Potentially, I mean, that would make more sense than like
- 1:16:40Speaker 4: Sweet Caroline of just playing it even if the Steelers
- 1:16:42Speaker 4: are down forty five to nothing.
- 1:16:43Speaker 7: Yeah, if it's true, there's definitely some Steeler fans out
- 1:16:46Speaker 7: there that are like, this is so stupid.
- 1:16:47Speaker 4: Yeah right now, But when it when it's a competitive
- 1:16:50Speaker 4: game or they're winning, and those towels start going and
- 1:16:53Speaker 4: the song starts playing, I mean it gets Yeah, it's
- 1:16:56Speaker 4: fun in there, it's cool. It's a it's a it's
- 1:17:00Speaker 4: a moment for sure.
- 1:17:01Speaker 2: So their their fans are willing to take part in
- 1:17:05Speaker 2: community a community thing, yeah you know, I mean that place,
- 1:17:08Speaker 2: they have to have a willing fan base.
- 1:17:10Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:17:11Speaker 1: Well, along those let's for it not to keep going
- 1:17:12Speaker 1: back to my eighty five watching. But they kept doing
- 1:17:14Speaker 1: the stupid wave the older stadium, like during the like
- 1:17:17Speaker 1: one the last time you saw them do the wave
- 1:17:19Speaker 1: into Let's State, like them.
- 1:17:21Speaker 2: Is the wave anymore?
- 1:17:24Speaker 4: I don't like the wave either.
- 1:17:26Speaker 1: The eighties I think was like the high point of
- 1:17:27Speaker 1: the wave. Everyone seemed very exciting, Like the wave is.
- 1:17:30Speaker 4: Another thing you can only do, in my opinion, when
- 1:17:31Speaker 4: you're winning, like you're doing. You're starting to wave at
- 1:17:34Speaker 4: a baseball game. When the Red Sox are losing, it's
- 1:17:37Speaker 4: not the time for the wave.
- 1:17:38Speaker 1: Well, I mean it's tied ale together.
- 1:17:39Speaker 7: It's funny they start doing the wave in the old
- 1:17:41Speaker 7: Foxborough Stadium and Steve Grogan's like trying to run the
- 1:17:43Speaker 7: offense and he's telling people to calm down and stop
- 1:17:45Speaker 7: doing the wave because you can't hear anything.
- 1:17:48Speaker 1: Yeah, what are you looking up? I'm looking up. When
- 1:17:51Speaker 1: they played it says a third quarter break, but that
- 1:17:53Speaker 1: doesn't that's I need something a little bit more specifical.
- 1:17:55Speaker 4: That's a break between the third and five.
- 1:17:57Speaker 2: I don't agree with that it's during games because we've
- 1:18:00Speaker 2: been at games when they play in.
- 1:18:01Speaker 1: It so AI Overview. The Steelers played Renegade by Sticks
- 1:18:05Speaker 1: during home games, specifically during the third quarter, as a
- 1:18:08Speaker 1: way to energize the crowd in the defense. The songs
- 1:18:10Speaker 1: lyrics and upbeat tempo are thought to inspire the players
- 1:18:13Speaker 1: and create an electric atmosphere within the stadium. It began
- 1:18:16Speaker 1: in two thousand and two during a playoff game against Cleveland,
- 1:18:19Speaker 1: and it's become a beloved Steelers tradition.
- 1:18:21Speaker 4: I do believe the defense needs to be on the field.
- 1:18:24Speaker 4: I think that it might be a part of the Yeah,
- 1:18:28Speaker 4: that could be true. So maybe it's just that time
- 1:18:31Speaker 4: of the game, but that it might be a defense.
- 1:18:35Speaker 2: You're you're a baseball We don't have one Steeler fan listening.
- 1:18:38Speaker 4: I know it was someone someone calling.
- 1:18:41Speaker 1: But where Stewers fans are on pictures dot com radio?
- 1:18:45Speaker 1: Where are they all? Where? Where did the seventh inning
- 1:18:47Speaker 1: stretch and take me out to the ball game come from?
- 1:18:49Speaker 1: I mean, that's that's one too. When did that's like
- 1:18:51Speaker 1: one of your relatives right, probably back in the day.
- 1:18:56Speaker 1: But that's another thing. Back in like, you know, the thirties,
- 1:18:58Speaker 1: people are like, what.
- 1:18:58Speaker 4: Are we doing?
- 1:18:59Speaker 1: They're gonna play this stupid song every time.
- 1:19:01Speaker 2: They're all jaded, probably Bob and Fort Lauderdale just listening
- 1:19:06Speaker 2: to the song discussion. I have one that hasn't been
- 1:19:11Speaker 2: used that I think would be a great choice, the
- 1:19:12Speaker 2: introduction to Highway Star by Deep Purple. Absolutely love the
- 1:19:16Speaker 2: show grew up in Mass Bubble. I know that song
- 1:19:20Speaker 2: It's Okay from your era. I feel like that album
- 1:19:24Speaker 2: was a great album. That the Smoke on the Water
- 1:19:26Speaker 2: album by Deep Purple, what an album.
- 1:19:28Speaker 4: It's a classic.
- 1:19:29Speaker 1: I'd like to compile all these and listen to the
- 1:19:31Speaker 1: ones that I don't know to.
- 1:19:32Speaker 2: See if there are we should We should have like
- 1:19:34Speaker 2: a committee and people should send it a suggestion. We
- 1:19:38Speaker 2: should listen, you know, give each one a hearing and decide.
- 1:19:42Speaker 2: I'd like it even for just the opening for us,
- 1:19:45Speaker 2: but you got to you gotta take in context. You
- 1:19:47Speaker 2: gotta think of like what are the opening notes, like,
- 1:19:50Speaker 2: oh yeah, you know, are they catching? You can't wait
- 1:19:52Speaker 2: too long for the hook now, the hook has to
- 1:19:56Speaker 2: be early.
- 1:19:57Speaker 1: The hook, yeah, brings you back.
- 1:20:00Speaker 2: That's right, Like we talked about it in the last
- 1:20:02Speaker 2: you know, when when you hear the opening to Hotel California, like,
- 1:20:08Speaker 2: you know that's Hotel California.
- 1:20:10Speaker 1: You know, yeah, I love your way, you know, wow, Wow,
- 1:20:17Speaker 1: that's the right Hotel California.
- 1:20:20Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:20:22Speaker 4: I went to camp with France with Deacon, so you
- 1:20:24Speaker 4: know flex Glenn fries Son, So.
- 1:20:32Speaker 2: Uh yeah, Pascal says. Evan said Arnold hasn't done anything
- 1:20:36Speaker 2: close to Rocky. But I think Terminator is a better franchise.
- 1:20:39Speaker 2: I'm not sure about that.
- 1:20:40Speaker 1: God, it's a bad lot of deep thoughts. I mean
- 1:20:43Speaker 1: Terminators the Rocky franchise. Yeah, I have to push back
- 1:20:47Speaker 1: on that creed. We got Creede going now we're up
- 1:20:49Speaker 1: in the creed.
- 1:20:50Speaker 4: I mean Rocky is won through.
- 1:20:51Speaker 2: I mean they built a statue to Rocky like you
- 1:20:53Speaker 2: can in Philly actually think it's a real when you.
- 1:20:56Speaker 4: Go to the art Museum and like there's people that
- 1:20:59Speaker 4: literally least I run him twice, me too, like I
- 1:21:04Speaker 4: did it. That's like it's like a tourist attract my.
- 1:21:06Speaker 1: Spring the girl I drove down to visit on spring Break.
- 1:21:08Speaker 1: That whole that was certainly what you needed to bete energy.
- 1:21:16Speaker 1: That's a bad take though. You want to tell me
- 1:21:19Speaker 1: that Arnold's a better action hero than Stallone, That to
- 1:21:25Speaker 1: me is that's a debate that you can have. And
- 1:21:29Speaker 1: but like Rocky is.
- 1:21:31Speaker 2: Real, Like Rocky is a real movie, like I asked,
- 1:21:34Speaker 2: Like I said, you asked people from Philly, who are
- 1:21:36Speaker 2: the great athletes that came out of Philadelphia. They'll say
- 1:21:38Speaker 2: rock They will Yeah, maybe some of them really do think.
- 1:21:43Speaker 1: You pull South Jersey books.
- 1:21:48Speaker 7: I mean you can't even get past Terminator two. I
- 1:21:50Speaker 7: mean Terminator too and done. There's no other good Terminator movies.
- 1:21:54Speaker 1: In my opinion.
- 1:21:55Speaker 2: Oh I don't. I disagree with that.
- 1:21:57Speaker 1: Three one is Judgement two T two T two two
- 1:22:02Speaker 1: didn't see it.
- 1:22:04Speaker 7: They didn't see I think the other thing people got
- 1:22:06Speaker 7: obsessed with is that they thought that the time travel
- 1:22:08Speaker 7: was cool.
- 1:22:08Speaker 1: Like I just thought the future world.
- 1:22:10Speaker 7: Was cool, the post apocalyptic, but then all the sequels
- 1:22:13Speaker 7: just got so crazy and all the time travel and
- 1:22:15Speaker 7: then they're traveling at a different time, and like.
- 1:22:16Speaker 1: That's the cool part. The cool part is machines took
- 1:22:19Speaker 1: over the universe, you know, the world in the future.
- 1:22:21Speaker 4: That's for me, at least the future. Yeah, no one's
- 1:22:23Speaker 4: ever done that. Machine machines are not taking over the
- 1:22:26Speaker 4: world now at all.
- 1:22:28Speaker 1: Totally. All the sports.
- 1:22:32Speaker 2: Ford Savannah, getting back to football, what this has been
- 1:22:36Speaker 2: the best post Brady off season the Patriots have had,
- 1:22:39Speaker 2: and we should all be excited about it. You hear
- 1:22:41Speaker 2: that excited about it?
- 1:22:42Speaker 1: I would concur I don't know, however, it's the you
- 1:22:45Speaker 1: don't think this is the best post Brady our season, not.
- 1:22:48Speaker 2: Yet post Brady We were pretty jacked up when they
- 1:22:51Speaker 2: signed Cam Newton for about a minute.
- 1:22:52Speaker 1: But it's an off season, Like, you don't have to
- 1:22:54Speaker 1: like whatever happen. This is the office.
- 1:22:56Speaker 4: I know on paper they twenty twenty one, they just
- 1:23:00Speaker 4: as much.
- 1:23:02Speaker 2: However, I hope we have patience and take the long
- 1:23:05Speaker 2: view when it comes to Drake May. I'm talking, I'm talking, well,
- 1:23:10Speaker 2: we're talking about Okay, I'm getting when you can say,
- 1:23:14Speaker 2: I hope we have patience and take the long view
- 1:23:16Speaker 2: when it comes to Drake May. Would we be happy
- 1:23:18Speaker 2: with the second year numbers that Josh Allen had for
- 1:23:21Speaker 2: Drake May? Twenty passing touchdowns, nine interceptions, nine rushing touchdowns,
- 1:23:25Speaker 2: fourteen fumbles with four fumbles lost, fifty eight percent completion percentage.
- 1:23:31Speaker 2: Drake May is not Brady or Mac. He's an explosive playmaker.
- 1:23:35Speaker 2: We have to be okay with him learning this year
- 1:23:38Speaker 2: at what will be twenty three years of age. Do
- 1:23:40Speaker 2: you think we should look at winning this year as
- 1:23:42Speaker 2: a bonus. I know we're all hungry for it, especially
- 1:23:45Speaker 2: based in the past two years, but I think patients
- 1:23:48Speaker 2: in developing the right way will pay off in the
- 1:23:51Speaker 2: long run.
- 1:23:53Speaker 1: Interesting numbers they're going to win, he says, maybe not.
- 1:23:56Speaker 1: I mean they want with those won ten games they
- 1:24:00Speaker 1: went through that they went to the playoffs.
- 1:24:01Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't know. I like, if you completed under
- 1:24:05Speaker 4: sixty percent of his completions, that would be a tough time. Well,
- 1:24:08Speaker 4: I need to know if they won, that'd be a
- 1:24:09Speaker 4: tough number. Now, the stats, the touchdown interceptions and all
- 1:24:13Speaker 4: that is fine.
- 1:24:14Speaker 1: That's that's fine. But there's a lot of balls on
- 1:24:16Speaker 1: the ground though, that's what you say.
- 1:24:18Speaker 2: Fourteen he only lost.
- 1:24:20Speaker 1: Four yea fourteen is a lot.
- 1:24:22Speaker 4: And I know, you know, they obviously have a lot
- 1:24:24Speaker 4: of similarities, and I've certainly talked a lot about their similarities.
- 1:24:27Speaker 4: But Drake may is already a more accurate thrower than
- 1:24:30Speaker 4: Josh Allen was coming out of college.
- 1:24:32Speaker 1: I would agree with that.
- 1:24:33Speaker 4: I think Drake's more accurate than young Allen, so I
- 1:24:37Speaker 4: has a better arm, though, Yeah, I think Allen has
- 1:24:39Speaker 4: a better physical skill set. I think he's bigger.
- 1:24:42Speaker 2: You hear about our friend Joe Milton wowing people in Dallas.
- 1:24:45Speaker 2: Oh really, you hear about this man? Heard about what
- 1:24:47Speaker 2: he does?
- 1:24:48Speaker 4: What I mean, it was with the can like it
- 1:24:50Speaker 4: was at the mini camp, through through and eighty yards
- 1:24:53Speaker 4: and everybody lost their minds. But yeah, I would say
- 1:24:56Speaker 4: Drake may is more polished, more accurate quarterback now than
- 1:24:59Speaker 4: Alan was coming out. Allen's a specimen like Allen's better.
- 1:25:03Speaker 2: We know Evan you talk about him a lot, Yeah,
- 1:25:06Speaker 2: I tend Matthew writes in for the rest of the crew,
- 1:25:09Speaker 2: now that the twenty fifteen NFL Draft is officially ten
- 1:25:14Speaker 2: years ago, how would you rank that draft talent and
- 1:25:17Speaker 2: who are some of the better players to come from
- 1:25:19Speaker 2: that draft? And how does it compare it to other drafts?
- 1:25:22Speaker 2: Twenty fifteen? Is that notable?
- 1:25:25Speaker 1: Can we does they not have like the people it's
- 1:25:28Speaker 1: a very supposed to Just remember who was.
- 1:25:32Speaker 7: Supposed to look Jamis Waite, Winston went to Mayor Mario Mariota,
- 1:25:36Speaker 7: Dante Fowler, Amari Cooper, Brandon Shirt.
- 1:25:38Speaker 4: I thought he meant our draft patries draft that was
- 1:25:41Speaker 4: not if my memory serves me correctly, it wasn't a
- 1:25:43Speaker 4: great draft.
- 1:25:44Speaker 1: Well, I mean just at the time that was Malcolm
- 1:25:46Speaker 1: Brown at the thirties two spot. Yeah, so there's three
- 1:25:50Speaker 1: those first five or six pictures you read off, there
- 1:25:52Speaker 1: was like three good ones like Amari Cooper, Brandon Sheriff,
- 1:25:57Speaker 1: and Leonard Williams were all good players. But yeah, I
- 1:26:00Speaker 1: mean Jameis Winston, Marcus Mariota at the top. That's not good.
- 1:26:04Speaker 1: Jordan Richard's sixty fourth overall, oh not good.
- 1:26:08Speaker 4: Yeah, not great. So basically it was a bad draft overall,
- 1:26:12Speaker 4: if I remember, it was very bad, not considered to
- 1:26:15Speaker 4: be a great draft. In hindsight, God and he says,
- 1:26:18Speaker 4: for Evan, did you watch Star Wars the Clone Wars
- 1:26:21Speaker 4: cartoon as well, or or just the movies?
- 1:26:24Speaker 1: Just the movies.
- 1:26:25Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't do all the series.
- 1:26:27Speaker 1: I didn't do all the cartoons, but he did a
- 1:26:28Speaker 1: good amount of Thank you, thank you very much.
- 1:26:31Speaker 2: I just finished the Last of Us. By the way,
- 1:26:34Speaker 2: I liked it.
- 1:26:34Speaker 1: I really liked it. People.
- 1:26:35Speaker 2: I know people didn't like the last episode.
- 1:26:37Speaker 1: But yeah, watching Hacks season four, I think, yeah, my favorite.
- 1:26:42Speaker 1: I love that show. It's so funny, it's funny, excellent.
- 1:26:45Speaker 1: Started watching Sirens, be watching that. It's not bad.
- 1:26:50Speaker 2: Henry Famine writes in kind of ridiculous suggestion, But here
- 1:26:54Speaker 2: are three probably terrible suggestions. One have Steven Tyler wright
- 1:26:59Speaker 2: a song since he also uh, it's local shark music
- 1:27:05Speaker 2: from Jaws, especially on a scoring drive. Ooh, you'd like that.
- 1:27:09Speaker 4: You can do something so much better.
- 1:27:11Speaker 2: See now, like if it came out that Drake may
- 1:27:15Speaker 2: love sharks, then organically maybe you could do something like that.
- 1:27:19Speaker 1: But like you said, there has to be some time
- 1:27:22Speaker 1: and then the word to me is organic too.
- 1:27:24Speaker 7: It's just anytime you're like, have someone write a song,
- 1:27:27Speaker 7: and I just start visions in my mind of like
- 1:27:30Speaker 7: here come the Patriots and they're gonna win in just
- 1:27:33Speaker 7: so stupid, cheesy late lines.
- 1:27:34Speaker 2: You're like, this is so bad.
- 1:27:36Speaker 4: That was well written. There's a zero percent chance that
- 1:27:41Speaker 4: Drake may have seen Jaws. Like I'm just telling you that, right.
- 1:27:44Speaker 2: We'll get them involved in no way, probably a little sarcastic.
- 1:27:47Speaker 2: But maybe have Seth McFarland write something. He does a
- 1:27:50Speaker 2: great job mocking musicians. Maybe you can figure out something.
- 1:27:54Speaker 1: You could write, a good, funny fake one for us,
- 1:27:56Speaker 1: like that come.
- 1:27:58Speaker 2: The Patriot all ready to play?
- 1:28:01Speaker 4: Well, I mean, is.
- 1:28:06Speaker 2: Oh my god? All right? Well he's been waiting and
- 1:28:13Speaker 2: I know you have two Christian lays on the phone.
- 1:28:16Speaker 2: What's up Christian?
- 1:28:17Speaker 5: Hey you guys, good morning, Good morning from La. Thank
- 1:28:20Speaker 5: you guys taking my call here.
- 1:28:22Speaker 3: It is sonny but cool in LA and we are
- 1:28:25Speaker 3: loving the beginning of off off season stuff about off
- 1:28:29Speaker 3: season activities of the eight man, I'm really excited. A
- 1:28:32Speaker 3: couple of things came up for me this week, and
- 1:28:34Speaker 3: I know it's kind of a mouthful, but I know
- 1:28:37Speaker 3: I'm a week late. But on that touch push debate,
- 1:28:40Speaker 3: I know the main thing they wanted to do was
- 1:28:42Speaker 3: stop aiding the runner or the assisting him in anyway.
- 1:28:46Speaker 3: Would still be the touch push if the guys that
- 1:28:48Speaker 3: lined up in the backfield just pushed the guards on
- 1:28:52Speaker 3: either side of the quarterback, not eating the quarterback in
- 1:28:54Speaker 3: any way, still getting that surge into the defense. That's one.
- 1:28:58Speaker 3: The second thing is I read a article this weekend
- 1:29:01Speaker 3: on the upcoming scoring trends in the NFL this year,
- 1:29:06Speaker 3: and while defensive scoring was going to tick up, and
- 1:29:09Speaker 3: so with passing touchdowns, we're going to pick up rushing
- 1:29:13Speaker 3: touchdowns and works God to be used to take down
- 1:29:17Speaker 3: that offsteedon. So the question I have for you guys is,
- 1:29:21Speaker 3: with what it seems like Rabel is building sort of
- 1:29:25Speaker 3: rebuild of the Tennessee tight offense where we have a
- 1:29:28Speaker 3: strong run game and sort of play action pass on
- 1:29:32Speaker 3: passing game, do you think that that in any way
- 1:29:36Speaker 3: lends itself to us taking advantage of that trend up
- 1:29:39Speaker 3: more passing touchdowns this season. And then lastly, my song
- 1:29:44Speaker 3: is Joan von Jovi's Living on a Prayer. Every fourth
- 1:29:47Speaker 3: quarter if we in the game, we start the fourth
- 1:29:50Speaker 3: quarter with Living on a Prayer, I'll take it offline.
- 1:29:52Speaker 3: And it's so good to be alive and part of
- 1:29:55Speaker 3: Patriot football.
- 1:29:56Speaker 2: All right, pass nice question. They play Living on a
- 1:29:59Speaker 2: Player a lot, right, Yeah, yeah, that's weak, but.
- 1:30:05Speaker 1: We're all just in the same yeah, seven around circle
- 1:30:09Speaker 1: seven songs.
- 1:30:10Speaker 4: Yeah, that's why probably just I mean, we're getting a lot.
- 1:30:12Speaker 2: There's a lot of emails coming in, but I don't
- 1:30:14Speaker 2: know what these songs are.
- 1:30:15Speaker 1: I know, I got to review them. You know. I
- 1:30:18Speaker 1: will say that that song got a lot of interaction
- 1:30:21Speaker 1: with the crowd in the in the Dynasty years now,
- 1:30:24Speaker 1: maybe you could argue that you could have played anything,
- 1:30:26Speaker 1: and those crowds were extremely into the game and extremely confident. Yeah,
- 1:30:32Speaker 1: you know, and the when the games in the second
- 1:30:34Speaker 1: half generally were kind of decided because the Patriots were
- 1:30:37Speaker 1: winning all the games, but they they they used to
- 1:30:40Speaker 1: get into Living on a Prayer. Oh yeah, I mean
- 1:30:42Speaker 1: they played when was here.
- 1:30:45Speaker 4: Oh yeah, they played at Bruins games at the thirty
- 1:30:48Speaker 4: minute mark of the game, like right in the a
- 1:30:51Speaker 4: lot of teams second period, halfway there, and people get
- 1:30:54Speaker 4: into it then too, So I think it's just the song.
- 1:30:56Speaker 1: I'm not sure I got Christian's point about there's a
- 1:31:00Speaker 1: trends that there will be more passing touchdowns and will
- 1:31:03Speaker 1: that be beneficial because Rabels seems to be.
- 1:31:06Speaker 4: I guess he's trying to say that teams are building
- 1:31:09Speaker 4: to stop the pass, so if you're good at they're
- 1:31:12Speaker 4: not necessarily worried about the run as much. So if
- 1:31:15Speaker 4: you're good at running, then that was sort of where
- 1:31:17Speaker 4: I thought he was going. But that's like an old
- 1:31:20Speaker 4: teams have been trying to like and I don't know
- 1:31:24Speaker 4: exactly how the offense is going to shape off. That
- 1:31:27Speaker 4: I agree with.
- 1:31:27Speaker 1: Can we wait and see what kind of offense we run.
- 1:31:30Speaker 1: But throwing more touchdowns good?
- 1:31:32Speaker 8: Yeah?
- 1:31:32Speaker 1: Yes, well just scoring.
- 1:31:33Speaker 2: More is good. Yeah.
- 1:31:34Speaker 4: But I do feel like that what Paul said, like,
- 1:31:37Speaker 4: I feel like that's the assumption is that they're just
- 1:31:39Speaker 4: going to be the Derrick Henry Titans and they're gonna
- 1:31:41Speaker 4: be a run first offense and everything I would.
- 1:31:45Speaker 1: Say that if that ends up being the case, I
- 1:31:48Speaker 1: will not be a huge fan. I think you're very
- 1:31:49Speaker 1: limited if you try to play that way.
- 1:31:51Speaker 2: Well, think about Henderson is like, if he's going to
- 1:31:53Speaker 2: be your lead back, he's not going to be the
- 1:31:56Speaker 2: lead back.
- 1:31:57Speaker 1: You don't think so Traveon Henderson. Yeah, No, he's going
- 1:31:59Speaker 1: to be James White. He's gonna be the third down back.
- 1:32:02Speaker 2: You think Ramandre is still going to be the lead
- 1:32:04Speaker 2: back at least for now. Well, I'm just saying that Henderson,
- 1:32:08Speaker 2: he has a lot of wear on those tires, right, No, No,
- 1:32:12Speaker 2: I thought he carried a lot.
- 1:32:14Speaker 1: No.
- 1:32:14Speaker 4: No, he was in a platune with quin Shawn Judkins
- 1:32:17Speaker 4: last year at Ohio State. He's been that. They've been
- 1:32:19Speaker 4: platuning him for a while.
- 1:32:20Speaker 1: But you know what you're thinking about someone different, thinking
- 1:32:24Speaker 1: about genty, Oh, I'm thinking about somebody else's player.
- 1:32:30Speaker 2: Yeah, genty we've won. Yeah.
- 1:32:33Speaker 1: I I agree with that, And I think that's why
- 1:32:35Speaker 1: they they wanted to bring Judkins in last year because
- 1:32:39Speaker 1: sophomore and junior year Henderson broke down. So that's why
- 1:32:43Speaker 1: that's probably the biggest reason why I don't really see
- 1:32:45Speaker 1: him being the lead guy. Now, I think he can
- 1:32:48Speaker 1: be more of a ball carrier, traditional ball carrier than
- 1:32:51Speaker 1: James White was. I think he has the capability of
- 1:32:54Speaker 1: doing that. I just would caution, and I've said this
- 1:32:57Speaker 1: to a few people. James White was that guy in college.
- 1:33:01Speaker 1: He had a million carries for a million yards at
- 1:33:04Speaker 1: Wisconsin now playing behind in incredible offensive lines for the
- 1:33:08Speaker 1: most part, a lot of NFL players on the offensive
- 1:33:11Speaker 1: line at Wisconsin, but in the pros with the Patriots,
- 1:33:15Speaker 1: he was more of a third down back who could run.
- 1:33:18Speaker 1: I mean, they handed the ball to him, but generally
- 1:33:21Speaker 1: it was like passing formations, you know, kind of you know,
- 1:33:27Speaker 1: third down draw that, those kinds of things. I think
- 1:33:29Speaker 1: Henderson has the ability to maybe be like they did
- 1:33:32Speaker 1: last year. It would be like one series at Stevens.
- 1:33:34Speaker 1: In the next series it was Gibson. I think Henderson
- 1:33:37Speaker 1: might be like, this is a Henderson series. Here first
- 1:33:39Speaker 1: and ten, we're gonna line up too tight, so we're
- 1:33:41Speaker 1: gonna run it and they're gonna you know, they don't
- 1:33:43Speaker 1: need him to be a scatback per se. I think
- 1:33:45Speaker 1: he can run between the tackles.
- 1:33:46Speaker 4: And the question though, is is do they become more
- 1:33:48Speaker 4: of a spread style scheme, Like if they're more in
- 1:33:51Speaker 4: the of a gun heavy offense and they're in spread
- 1:33:54Speaker 4: and then you're running the ball against lighter boxes with
- 1:33:56Speaker 4: more space and like all that kind of stuff. Like
- 1:33:59Speaker 4: he's definitely built more for that than Ramondre Stevenson to
- 1:34:01Speaker 4: be that kind of running back. So if that's going
- 1:34:04Speaker 4: to be what they are because of Drake, may they
- 1:34:07Speaker 4: go more towards that side of things. I don't think
- 1:34:10Speaker 4: Travon Henderson is necessarily going to be We're gonna line
- 1:34:13Speaker 4: them up in the I formation in the backfield, and
- 1:34:15Speaker 4: he's gonna run the ball on first and ten. But
- 1:34:17Speaker 4: if they're an offense that's more gun run options like
- 1:34:22Speaker 4: that kind of stuff like you see in you know,
- 1:34:24Speaker 4: Kansas City, Buffalo, Baltimore like places like that, then he's
- 1:34:28Speaker 4: probably more conducive to that just because of his speed
- 1:34:32Speaker 4: and his bursts.
- 1:34:33Speaker 1: But I'd be surprised if he ended up with more
- 1:34:35Speaker 1: carries than Stevenson. I think Stevenson will still be well
- 1:34:39Speaker 1: the lead back I'd be, and then what's this an injury?
- 1:34:42Speaker 4: I think he could end up with more snaps, but
- 1:34:45Speaker 4: maybe not more carries, right like, because he's gonna play
- 1:34:49Speaker 4: so much in the passing game that a lot of
- 1:34:52Speaker 4: those years James White was their their lead snap count back,
- 1:34:58Speaker 4: but he wasn't there leading rusher because.
- 1:35:01Speaker 2: You know how to pick up the blitz. Is he good,
- 1:35:04Speaker 2: very good, fantastic, So that'll help him very good out
- 1:35:07Speaker 2: stay out there.
- 1:35:08Speaker 4: Yeah, Like some people think he's one of the best
- 1:35:10Speaker 4: blitz pick up running backs in the last couple of drafts.
- 1:35:13Speaker 1: So his you know, the name is escaping now. But
- 1:35:16Speaker 1: his his coach at Ohio State called him the best
- 1:35:19Speaker 1: pass protector in the country period, regardless of position. Did
- 1:35:23Speaker 1: he say, how that's how good? How did he get
- 1:35:25Speaker 1: that good at it? I mean it might have been
- 1:35:27Speaker 1: a question that a good reporter asked, I dropped the ball.
- 1:35:31Speaker 8: Took a question.
- 1:35:32Speaker 7: I mean, I would just wonder if it's a if
- 1:35:33Speaker 7: he just had a natural kind of knack for it,
- 1:35:35Speaker 7: he just understood kind of how to get in guys
- 1:35:38Speaker 7: way the right way, or if he just maybe it
- 1:35:40Speaker 7: was a weakness and he worked out.
- 1:35:41Speaker 4: I mean, he's really strong for his size, just like
- 1:35:44Speaker 4: pops guys. Yeah. Yeah, and he's got great eyes for
- 1:35:48Speaker 4: it to like stay square to guys and see different
- 1:35:51Speaker 4: looks and things like that. I mean they you can
- 1:35:54Speaker 4: make a highlight reel of Trevon Henderson just off of
- 1:35:57Speaker 4: his blitz pick ups.
- 1:35:59Speaker 1: He's got a great highlight reel. Ye that that made.
- 1:36:01Speaker 1: It made the rounds on Twitter right after they drafted.
- 1:36:04Speaker 1: It was unbelievably impressive.
- 1:36:06Speaker 2: Yeah, good stuff. Well, I think they're gonna I think
- 1:36:10Speaker 2: he's going to become the number one back pretty quickly.
- 1:36:12Speaker 2: I really do.
- 1:36:13Speaker 1: I don't think that's a good thing.
- 1:36:14Speaker 4: I just don't. I think it depends on how you
- 1:36:16Speaker 4: quantify that.
- 1:36:17Speaker 2: Yeah, I want to be out there early.
- 1:36:19Speaker 1: I won his big play potential, and I think that
- 1:36:22Speaker 1: the best way to get that is to sort of
- 1:36:25Speaker 1: limit his touches.
- 1:36:26Speaker 4: I'm not saying right away, but like the vision of
- 1:36:29Speaker 4: like Jamiir Gibbs, Like, I don't think Jamiir Gibbs isn't
- 1:36:33Speaker 4: playing seventy five percent of the snaps in Detroit. It's
- 1:36:36Speaker 4: probably more closer to fifty that I would have imagined
- 1:36:40Speaker 4: that that's the goal, not necessarily week one, day one,
- 1:36:43Speaker 4: but eventually.
- 1:36:44Speaker 2: Yep, Chad and Las is back in the saddle. You
- 1:36:48Speaker 2: know that song? But only if we start winning. No,
- 1:36:53Speaker 2: but we're talking runout songs. Yeah, this isn't like the Josie.
- 1:36:57Speaker 2: This isn't replacing the Josie. Song is what gets the
- 1:37:01Speaker 2: crowd amped up for.
- 1:37:03Speaker 1: The runout right organically. Yeah yeah, we used to be
- 1:37:08Speaker 1: a dynasty, but now we're not. We're trying really hardly.
- 1:37:12Speaker 1: It's just right, just totally literal, exactly.
- 1:37:16Speaker 2: Stick with us.
- 1:37:17Speaker 1: We promise it will be better than next year.
- 1:37:19Speaker 2: We hope, don't.
- 1:37:21Speaker 1: We're good.
- 1:37:22Speaker 4: I'm guarantee you we're going to a more than guarantee.
- 1:37:26Speaker 1: Probably that it's like not avoiding systers. That quick disclaimer
- 1:37:32Speaker 1: at the end. Okay, sorry, had a long weekend. You
- 1:37:38Speaker 1: really are something else. Thank you. I am I am
- 1:37:43Speaker 1: available for any of your songwriting needs.
- 1:37:46Speaker 2: Our Ja and Colorado's subject line all the small things
- 1:37:50Speaker 2: in the Avalanche, he says, song traditions must be organic.
- 1:37:54Speaker 2: You can't plan it. My favorite thing about going to
- 1:37:57Speaker 2: Colorado Avalanche games. The entire crowds sings the entire time.
- 1:38:02Speaker 2: It's legendary. But it's derived from their recent Stanley Cup run.
- 1:38:06Speaker 4: Oh they must have played it as like in the
- 1:38:08Speaker 4: locker room after wins or something. Yeah, I love all
- 1:38:11Speaker 4: this good song.
- 1:38:13Speaker 1: The Bruins have like a playoff one off song too,
- 1:38:14Speaker 1: don't they like they change it up? Yeah, yeah, I
- 1:38:17Speaker 1: think back to last year. Yeah, sorry, we choked again.
- 1:38:21Speaker 4: Well, most teams have like most hockey teams, when they're
- 1:38:25Speaker 4: on a run, like a playoff run, they have like
- 1:38:27Speaker 4: l Maybe that must have been the Avalanches and that
- 1:38:32Speaker 4: must have been where it came from.
- 1:38:34Speaker 2: Pascal has some numbers Terminator first Rocky. Oh so sorry, guys,
- 1:38:39Speaker 2: but box office numbers say Terminator is the better franchise.
- 1:38:43Speaker 2: Rocky only comes close because Creed boosts the numbers at
- 1:38:46Speaker 2: the end. Terminator has two out of three highest domestic
- 1:38:50Speaker 2: numbers and through the first six movies of each franchise
- 1:38:53Speaker 2: that isn't close Internationally, Terminator blows Rocky out of the water.
- 1:38:58Speaker 2: Rocky is a niche to a smaller market of fans
- 1:39:01Speaker 2: like you guys. Yeah, I don't know about that.
- 1:39:03Speaker 1: I don't care about the box office Rocky is.
- 1:39:07Speaker 4: And if Rocky is.
- 1:39:07Speaker 1: An award winning film like this is not. In my opinion,
- 1:39:12Speaker 1: it's not really even worth a discussion. One's a movie
- 1:39:15Speaker 1: and the others are just fluff. Like you want to say,
- 1:39:18Speaker 1: Rocky three for the franchise is fluffed too fine. But
- 1:39:21Speaker 1: the original Rocky was an Oscar Worthy movie.
- 1:39:24Speaker 4: Don't be talking about Rock three.
- 1:39:26Speaker 1: The same with the original Rambo, I'd say too kind
- 1:39:28Speaker 1: of mean, not quite but first Blood, like the Terminator,
- 1:39:30Speaker 1: no one was you know, waxing poetic about it was
- 1:39:33Speaker 1: what it was. It was fluff.
- 1:39:35Speaker 2: It was science fiction.
- 1:39:35Speaker 1: Yeah, which is fine. There's there's a place for that.
- 1:39:39Speaker 2: The whole Rocky story. Stallone tried to get a writer,
- 1:39:43Speaker 2: he couldn't get one. He ended up writing it in a.
- 1:39:45Speaker 1: Weekend, right, I mean, I don't know about a weekend,
- 1:39:47Speaker 1: but yeah, they wrote it, and then they didn't want
- 1:39:50Speaker 1: him to play himself and he refused to sell it
- 1:39:53Speaker 1: unless he unless he started and he had no money
- 1:39:55Speaker 1: and he banked on himself. Yeah that's the story.
- 1:39:57Speaker 2: But I know he wrote it.
- 1:39:59Speaker 1: He like I heard he wrote it in a week Yeah,
- 1:40:02Speaker 1: I believe it got it all on.
- 1:40:03Speaker 2: I just got to get it out. No, that was
- 1:40:05Speaker 2: one of those things where it's one of it's like genius, like, yeah,
- 1:40:10Speaker 2: he'll never he never was able to recreate that. It
- 1:40:13Speaker 2: was a one hit thing.
- 1:40:14Speaker 1: Yeah flash yeah as a writer. Anyway, it's a lot
- 1:40:19Speaker 1: of writers, a.
- 1:40:21Speaker 2: Lot of writers out there.
- 1:40:22Speaker 1: They got one in them.
- 1:40:24Speaker 7: I mean, I said, like my experience with TV writers
- 1:40:26Speaker 7: is that there are like a handful of people that
- 1:40:28Speaker 7: are very talented and everything they write is really good.
- 1:40:31Speaker 7: But then the vast majority are people who wrote one
- 1:40:34Speaker 7: thing or they were a staff writer on Friends when
- 1:40:37Speaker 7: it broke, and then they worked their way up. They
- 1:40:39Speaker 7: were never making the magic happen, but they were part
- 1:40:42Speaker 7: of it. So but there's really only i would say
- 1:40:44Speaker 7: five ten percent of the writers are really talented, like
- 1:40:47Speaker 7: Mitch Hurwitz from Arrested Development, who was just an amazing writer.
- 1:40:50Speaker 7: Every time you read what he wrote, you're like, this
- 1:40:53Speaker 7: is so depth and there's you know, me ticky time
- 1:40:55Speaker 7: to even process it.
- 1:40:57Speaker 1: But a lot of guys just one hit wonder, you know,
- 1:41:00Speaker 1: and they're still like, well he was on Will and Grace.
- 1:41:02Speaker 1: You're like, well that was twenty years ago.
- 1:41:03Speaker 7: You know, we're still we're taking meetings with this guy
- 1:41:05Speaker 7: because he was on a show, you know, well for
- 1:41:07Speaker 7: a good show, but it was nutlike he was you know.
- 1:41:10Speaker 17: I love I love how I would do munch Nick
- 1:41:12Speaker 17: and Cohn well like like you know, you know better,
- 1:41:16Speaker 17: but like Signful, for example, different writers kind of took
- 1:41:21Speaker 17: the lead for different shows that had like the Soup
- 1:41:23Speaker 17: Nazi that Spike young.
- 1:41:25Speaker 2: Person, Spike Ferriston. Maybe it might have been yeah, sure, right, yeah,
- 1:41:28Speaker 2: no something. I mean you never saw him as the
- 1:41:30Speaker 2: lead writer. Again, that was his one show that he
- 1:41:33Speaker 2: had inspiration.
- 1:41:34Speaker 1: That's kind of like how it works.
- 1:41:35Speaker 7: Like if we were a TV show and we're let's
- 1:41:37Speaker 7: say we're all doing a show and you're the show
- 1:41:38Speaker 7: runner and you say, a right, dude, you're gonna write
- 1:41:40Speaker 7: this episode. So we'd all kind of break it together,
- 1:41:42Speaker 7: and then I'd go off and I put the first
- 1:41:44Speaker 7: draft together.
- 1:41:45Speaker 1: Paul, you're gonna write this episode. We'll all kind of
- 1:41:47Speaker 1: put the beats together.
- 1:41:48Speaker 7: You go off and write that, you know, and then
- 1:41:49Speaker 7: we each get a script fee to write that script
- 1:41:52Speaker 7: along with our per episodic fee that we get, so
- 1:41:55Speaker 7: you know, that's how you get a little more money.
- 1:41:57Speaker 7: Or how many scripts you got involved, We got a couple.
- 1:41:59Speaker 7: I mean, this is all network TV too. I don't
- 1:42:00Speaker 7: even know if this is still beat streaming though.
- 1:42:02Speaker 2: In the eighties. I know the writers for Cheers they
- 1:42:04Speaker 2: got seventy grand a show.
- 1:42:05Speaker 5: I believe that.
- 1:42:06Speaker 1: Yeah, sure, that's I mean, that's way that yeah. Ever, yeah,
- 1:42:12Speaker 1: I mean it's crazy.
- 1:42:13Speaker 7: Lane asked me that this weekend shoo them like per
- 1:42:15Speaker 7: episode they make. But it's not with streaming where they
- 1:42:18Speaker 7: have eight episode seasons. It's hard because it used to
- 1:42:20Speaker 7: al be based on so they get more twenty twenty five,
- 1:42:23Speaker 7: you know, and that's how streaming companies get around paying that.
- 1:42:26Speaker 4: That annoys me a little bit, Like everything is now
- 1:42:30Speaker 4: ten episodes, right, Like there's no it just I don't know.
- 1:42:34Speaker 2: Nobody wants to put in a full day of work anymore.
- 1:42:37Speaker 4: Even every show is that funny five Like every show
- 1:42:41Speaker 4: is like, oh you know, new season dropped, it's ten episodes.
- 1:42:45Speaker 4: Every show. It's like, what happened to the actual?
- 1:42:48Speaker 8: Yeah?
- 1:42:48Speaker 2: Usould be, wasn't it like twenty six weeks?
- 1:42:51Speaker 8: Yeah?
- 1:42:51Speaker 1: Like members twenty five twenty six episodes a season, right,
- 1:42:55Speaker 1: even now, I know you guys don't watch any of
- 1:42:58Speaker 1: that anymore. But even now, most of the shows you
- 1:43:00Speaker 1: get lucky if you get to twenty Yeah, you know,
- 1:43:03Speaker 1: some of them might do twenty episodes for a season,
- 1:43:05Speaker 1: but most of them are like half seasons.
- 1:43:07Speaker 7: I mean, I worked out I worked at my company
- 1:43:09Speaker 7: for thirteen years and we put maybe like four shows
- 1:43:13Speaker 7: actually on the air, and other than two and a
- 1:43:15Speaker 7: half Men, I think two got subsequent order pickups of
- 1:43:19Speaker 7: other seasons. But we produced one hundred two hundred shows, pilots, scripts,
- 1:43:26Speaker 7: I mean probably close to a thousand scripts. But that's
- 1:43:29Speaker 7: how much. It's so much thrown at the wall for
- 1:43:33Speaker 7: one two and a half. Men, you've got.
- 1:43:36Speaker 2: Everything can be Chicago pup.
- 1:43:39Speaker 1: That's why we're hoping we're got.
- 1:43:41Speaker 4: You don't get the syndication checks for two and a half,
- 1:43:43Speaker 4: not me, you know what do you mean?
- 1:43:44Speaker 1: But every time it's on, I think what my bosses
- 1:43:46Speaker 1: are getting. You're still getting paid every time that thing airs.
- 1:43:49Speaker 2: Johnny and Madtown has a Felger fact.
- 1:43:51Speaker 1: Felger fact.
- 1:43:52Speaker 2: He says, Terminator two won four oscars.
- 1:43:55Speaker 7: Yeah, I was gonna say probably yeah, visual effects, visuals.
- 1:43:58Speaker 2: Yeah, right, which are oscars.
- 1:44:00Speaker 1: But that's not what I'm talking about.
- 1:44:03Speaker 2: Best Picture.
- 1:44:04Speaker 1: Yeah, Like I'm not talking about the amount of oscars.
- 1:44:06Speaker 1: I'm talking about the Best picture.
- 1:44:08Speaker 2: Yeah. Also, genres like sci fi, horror in comedy gets
- 1:44:12Speaker 2: shafted at the Oscars for acting or directing or Best Pictured.
- 1:44:15Speaker 1: Nomination like sports movies.
- 1:44:17Speaker 2: Your opinion isn't as bad as Evans for film, but
- 1:44:19Speaker 2: it's damn close.
- 1:44:21Speaker 1: Wow, sports movies generally do really well with the Oscars, right,
- 1:44:26Speaker 1: did Bill Durham, did Bull Durham do well?
- 1:44:28Speaker 4: No?
- 1:44:28Speaker 8: No?
- 1:44:29Speaker 1: Like for Best Picture, like, did it get nominated? I
- 1:44:32Speaker 1: don't think so.
- 1:44:32Speaker 2: No.
- 1:44:33Speaker 1: I mean, before this guy writes back to yell at me,
- 1:44:35Speaker 1: I don't remember that being nominated.
- 1:44:38Speaker 4: I do agree that sometimes sci fi, that those genres
- 1:44:42Speaker 4: maybe not so much comedy.
- 1:44:44Speaker 2: But like I agree with him nominated too.
- 1:44:49Speaker 4: But June two is the best movie of the year
- 1:44:51Speaker 4: and it didn't win.
- 1:44:52Speaker 2: Well, I didn't see them all, so I can't jump,
- 1:44:54Speaker 2: but I.
- 1:44:54Speaker 4: Mean it was it was. I didn't see all fifteen
- 1:44:58Speaker 4: of them, su No, but I saw the one that won,
- 1:45:03Speaker 4: uh or whatever it was. I watched it, Yeah, because
- 1:45:06Speaker 4: it won, and I I mean, I get it, Like
- 1:45:09Speaker 4: it's not a franchise like Dune is, Like it's not
- 1:45:11Speaker 4: based off a book, like I get I get it.
- 1:45:14Speaker 4: But at the same time, I still thought Dune was better.
- 1:45:17Speaker 1: I did too.
- 1:45:18Speaker 2: Yeah, I just I love doing yeah everything right in all.
- 1:45:22Speaker 1: In terms of the Felger facts, I'll just fill them
- 1:45:25Speaker 1: in for you. The Terminator two won four Oscars. They
- 1:45:29Speaker 1: were four Best Makeup, Best Sound, Best Sound Effects, Editing,
- 1:45:35Speaker 1: and Best Visual Effects. Those are your four Oscars, right, fat, Right,
- 1:45:41Speaker 1: So that's that's where the Felger fact comes from. Yes,
- 1:45:44Speaker 1: it's true that The Terminator two won four Oscars. The
- 1:45:48Speaker 1: Terminators one and two.
- 1:45:49Speaker 2: I love them.
- 1:45:50Speaker 1: I feel weird being on the side of rock. But
- 1:45:52Speaker 1: I don't know if this really didn't I can't tell
- 1:45:54Speaker 1: you I didn't like them. I didn't see them. I
- 1:45:56Speaker 1: love them.
- 1:45:57Speaker 2: I thought they were great. But you know, Rocky is Rocky.
- 1:46:01Speaker 7: Rocky is iconic and global like box office like I mean,
- 1:46:06Speaker 7: it's definitely a very American movie too.
- 1:46:08Speaker 1: I understand why it terminated.
- 1:46:09Speaker 7: There's a hundred of them, and they make like, you know,
- 1:46:11Speaker 7: animated movies now basically with all the science fiction they
- 1:46:14Speaker 7: have going on, so that's gonna have much broader global appeal.
- 1:46:17Speaker 7: But in terms of just like, what's a better film,
- 1:46:20Speaker 7: I think I'm Rocky, Team Rocky.
- 1:46:22Speaker 4: That's sad that it's two movies.
- 1:46:24Speaker 2: I want to see, right, I want to see Superman. Yeah,
- 1:46:27Speaker 2: that looks really good. And I want to see The
- 1:46:29Speaker 2: Mission Impossible.
- 1:46:31Speaker 1: Yeah. How many Mission impostles are I've fallen out. I
- 1:46:35Speaker 1: won like two and this is it.
- 1:46:38Speaker 17: But somebody will replace Tom Cruise, just like James Bond
- 1:46:41Speaker 17: to cruise running this way, but.
- 1:46:42Speaker 4: Dead Reckoning Part one I think is what the it
- 1:46:45Speaker 4: was that was honestly amazing. It was like one of
- 1:46:48Speaker 4: the best of the whole franchise, this one. I guess
- 1:46:50Speaker 4: the reviews are not quite as good as the last one.
- 1:46:53Speaker 4: It's like this one's a lot of time to get
- 1:46:56Speaker 4: it together, and you know, nostalgia and all that stuff.
- 1:46:58Speaker 7: But I saw the first one like nineteen ninety seven
- 1:47:01Speaker 7: or something back then, and I haven't listened.
- 1:47:03Speaker 2: I used to watch the series, you know, first run
- 1:47:06Speaker 2: on TV. Leonard Nimoy, and they're all good.
- 1:47:11Speaker 5: He was on.
- 1:47:12Speaker 1: I never watched it.
- 1:47:13Speaker 2: He was on, I remember that the first season, but
- 1:47:15Speaker 2: he came in.
- 1:47:17Speaker 1: Mission Impossible.
- 1:47:19Speaker 4: I think they're all good.
- 1:47:21Speaker 1: H Brett.
- 1:47:22Speaker 2: Each person gives their reason to support why or how
- 1:47:25Speaker 2: the Patriots finished thirteen and four, but losing the AFC Conference.
- 1:47:29Speaker 1: Game AFC like the championship game, I don't think I
- 1:47:33Speaker 1: can do this.
- 1:47:34Speaker 2: Yeah, that's kind of hard. You know, a lot of
- 1:47:37Speaker 2: injuries the other times you just stole.
- 1:47:40Speaker 1: That was all I have, except for maybe Patrick Mahomes
- 1:47:43Speaker 1: or Josh Allen. But I mean, put it on Drake May.
- 1:47:47Speaker 1: Put it on Drake May.
- 1:47:47Speaker 7: They're gonna do something magical. I don't see how it
- 1:47:50Speaker 7: happens without Drake May doing something.
- 1:47:52Speaker 1: That's a good one. Mike, Drake May just explodes hopefully.
- 1:47:57Speaker 2: Yeah, Chad says, but we've.
- 1:48:02Speaker 1: Has a subpart game in the playoff. Can't quite get
- 1:48:05Speaker 1: it done.
- 1:48:06Speaker 2: In Kansas City, U chat about why shows don't have
- 1:48:11Speaker 2: longer runs seasons. He says it more formulaic. Back then
- 1:48:16Speaker 2: they were thirty minutes long each episode, each episode of
- 1:48:19Speaker 2: something like Game of Thrones, more akin too many movies.
- 1:48:22Speaker 2: I get that, well, I'm talking about that.
- 1:48:23Speaker 1: We're talking about network.
- 1:48:24Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm not talking about like last I get. I
- 1:48:28Speaker 2: get the shows that you watch on HBO. They're like movies.
- 1:48:32Speaker 2: Those are movie budget TV shows. I'm just talking about show.
- 1:48:36Speaker 1: I do think money is a big part of it too.
- 1:48:38Speaker 1: Like you know, friends, you know, what do they all get?
- 1:48:40Speaker 1: They all held out and got a million each, right,
- 1:48:42Speaker 1: So that's six guys, six actors making a million dollars
- 1:48:46Speaker 1: per episode a top of them. We can't afford to
- 1:48:48Speaker 1: do twenty plus episodes every year, you know, whatever the
- 1:48:52Speaker 1: number was, thirty episodes, whatever they used to do.
- 1:48:55Speaker 7: That's what was so crazy to me about those shows
- 1:48:58Speaker 7: were when you're just trying to the pilot, like say
- 1:49:01Speaker 7: you're doing the Friends pilot.
- 1:49:02Speaker 1: You've just hired.
- 1:49:04Speaker 7: You know, Courtney Cox is the big get because she's
- 1:49:06Speaker 7: kind of she's the only one of them who've done anything.
- 1:49:09Speaker 7: But at that point, you're spending so much time negotiating
- 1:49:12Speaker 7: over like what's your title in year three?
- 1:49:15Speaker 1: Well like oh, you know, like well, Matthew, this wouldn't happen.
- 1:49:19Speaker 1: But like Matthew, Perry's manager is gonna get at credit.
- 1:49:22Speaker 1: What's his credit? He needs points in the back end
- 1:49:24Speaker 1: for him to say.
- 1:49:24Speaker 7: You know, you spend all this time at the beginning,
- 1:49:26Speaker 7: before it's even been made in life or death arguments
- 1:49:29Speaker 7: about what's going to happen in three years down the road,
- 1:49:31Speaker 7: and then you know, God forbid, the show is successful
- 1:49:34Speaker 7: and then you're actually able to renegotiate and put that
- 1:49:37Speaker 7: kind of money in people's But there were so many
- 1:49:40Speaker 7: instances where my bosses would have points in the back
- 1:49:42Speaker 7: end where it's like, we won't really want this actor.
- 1:49:44Speaker 7: We're gonna have to give up a point for him,
- 1:49:46Speaker 7: We're gonna have to give a point for his manager.
- 1:49:47Speaker 7: All that kind of stuff.
- 1:49:48Speaker 1: It was just non so when Friends came out. What
- 1:49:50Speaker 1: did Courtney Cox done besides the Bruce Springsteen video.
- 1:49:53Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 1:49:54Speaker 1: She's said like a little.
- 1:49:55Speaker 7: I think she's like one of those people that we
- 1:49:57Speaker 7: did work with that they're like in this stream she.
- 1:50:00Speaker 4: Scream It has been just after Texas Chainsaw Right, she's
- 1:50:04Speaker 4: in one of those movies that was she.
- 1:50:06Speaker 1: Was in Scream.
- 1:50:07Speaker 4: But I know that was isn't she like she's screaming
- 1:50:10Speaker 4: in one of these movies, right.
- 1:50:12Speaker 1: She's in Scream? I know Sydney Right, No, that was
- 1:50:15Speaker 1: that was Cam Campbell, but she was. But I think
- 1:50:19Speaker 1: that was just on the heels of friends.
- 1:50:20Speaker 7: But she had just I think she had some I
- 1:50:23Speaker 7: was just curious she might have been in Seinfeld even
- 1:50:25Speaker 7: maybe like she had she's one.
- 1:50:26Speaker 2: Of those people. She was Sinfeld episode.
- 1:50:32Speaker 1: She was definitely known because of that video, like she
- 1:50:35Speaker 1: became like yeah, like all of a sudden, people knew that.
- 1:50:39Speaker 1: That's like what you're you're arguing with. David Schwimmer was
- 1:50:41Speaker 1: in Wonder Years. He was the boyfriend of the older
- 1:50:44Speaker 1: sister in Wonder Years. I knew him from that, and
- 1:50:50Speaker 1: I don't think Kodro or Joey No, Matthew Perry had
- 1:50:53Speaker 1: been in uh like Growing Pains.
- 1:50:55Speaker 4: It was scream was there? The first thing the Scream
- 1:50:59Speaker 4: was nineteen ninety so that's after Friends. That's like two
- 1:51:02Speaker 4: years into Friends. Yeah, the other three I didn't know.
- 1:51:05Speaker 4: I didn't know anything.
- 1:51:06Speaker 1: But that's what's annoying.
- 1:51:07Speaker 7: It's like, here you are, You're in an argument with
- 1:51:10Speaker 7: the reps from this girl who was in a Bruce
- 1:51:12Speaker 7: Springsteen music video, and they're trying to hold you over
- 1:51:14Speaker 7: the barrel for an extra ten k.
- 1:51:17Speaker 1: That's why I was asking us, like, is that what?
- 1:51:19Speaker 1: The thing was?
- 1:51:19Speaker 8: Right?
- 1:51:20Speaker 1: That she was kind? Because she was when you're like
- 1:51:23Speaker 1: the show was being like in all LIKELI that this
- 1:51:26Speaker 1: is going to be completely dead, but we're going to
- 1:51:27Speaker 1: spend the next two weeks in the life for death
- 1:51:29Speaker 1: argument about three deal points like and Jennifer Anderson, I
- 1:51:32Speaker 1: only knew because of our father.
- 1:51:34Speaker 2: I didn't know who's your father?
- 1:51:36Speaker 1: Johnny Aniston?
- 1:51:37Speaker 8: He was in.
- 1:51:39Speaker 1: Another world the days of our last for me. Thanks, So.
- 1:51:47Speaker 2: I'm I'm on an island here. But I never liked Friends, No,
- 1:51:50Speaker 2: that was I didn't. I mean I hated all of them.
- 1:51:53Speaker 1: Oh, the end the end of Friends was almost horrifically bad.
- 1:52:00Speaker 1: But there was a run.
- 1:52:01Speaker 2: David Schumer was such a pussy.
- 1:52:03Speaker 1: They turned him into that though too.
- 1:52:05Speaker 4: It was like, but that's the point, Marcel the monkey
- 1:52:09Speaker 4: was literally what the character was, right, but they kind
- 1:52:12Speaker 4: of made him like, So why I don't like they
- 1:52:14Speaker 4: made him crazy?
- 1:52:14Speaker 1: I have to like him.
- 1:52:15Speaker 7: Yeah, well they slowly, like it's like Kramer, right, like
- 1:52:18Speaker 7: they slowly just keep turning up the wackiness of that
- 1:52:21Speaker 7: character and making him crazy.
- 1:52:23Speaker 4: I was just like friend Matthew Perry.
- 1:52:26Speaker 1: He didn't like Matthew Perry.
- 1:52:27Speaker 4: I love Matthew Perry and rip to Matthew Perry, and
- 1:52:30Speaker 4: he was he just watched the seasons of Friends. He
- 1:52:33Speaker 4: watched on and off the drugs and it's just tough.
- 1:52:36Speaker 2: It's tough, Kelly and salt Lake writes in been listening
- 1:52:40Speaker 2: to for quite a few years, thank you. In the
- 1:52:42Speaker 2: early years of my listening, I recall hearing something called
- 1:52:45Speaker 2: freda Palooza. I had an idea, now that Fred lives
- 1:52:48Speaker 2: on the Cape Long Drive, he should throw another one
- 1:52:51Speaker 2: Josh themed and have the movies playing on a projector
- 1:52:54Speaker 2: or TV for the whole party. I would, but people
- 1:52:58Speaker 2: don't want to come down all the way to the cave,
- 1:53:00Speaker 2: you know, like it's a long drive, and then you
- 1:53:02Speaker 2: know you want to drink and have fun, so then
- 1:53:05Speaker 2: you have to put him up. And I'm not doing that.
- 1:53:08Speaker 1: Back in the day, you didn't carry you just the
- 1:53:10Speaker 1: old Yeah, you know, remember.
- 1:53:13Speaker 4: We're crashing on Fred's cap.
- 1:53:16Speaker 2: I lived ten minutes from the stadium before. Now it's
- 1:53:19Speaker 2: now it's an hour away.
- 1:53:20Speaker 4: Cosplay Perry is just you know, in a corner in the.
- 1:53:24Speaker 1: Ball wouldn't be good.
- 1:53:26Speaker 2: Paul saying he's never seen The Terminator movies, but thinking
- 1:53:29Speaker 2: his opinion carries way as hilarious.
- 1:53:32Speaker 1: I don't think he carries away. I don't I didn't
- 1:53:34Speaker 1: see it.
- 1:53:35Speaker 2: I don't have any fog or facts like the other guy.
- 1:53:37Speaker 2: But I know for sure Paul has to say, has
- 1:53:39Speaker 2: no say in this conversation.
- 1:53:41Speaker 1: Yeah, I didn't see the Terminator, so I can't tell
- 1:53:43Speaker 1: you if it was good or bad. That is one
- 1:53:45Speaker 1: hundred accurate. It's pretty good. But I can tell you
- 1:53:48Speaker 1: that Rocky you want to, but I.
- 1:53:49Speaker 2: Can guarantee you if Paul saw the Terminator, he would
- 1:53:53Speaker 2: not like it as much as he liked Rocky. Oh,
- 1:53:56Speaker 2: because you don't like that genre.
- 1:53:57Speaker 1: I would agree with that that's probably why haven't seen it, right,
- 1:54:01Speaker 1: I just I'm just basing it on. Like this is
- 1:54:03Speaker 1: there's one movie that won the Best Picture.
- 1:54:05Speaker 2: You know, I love the Terminator. A movie like that
- 1:54:08Speaker 2: to win the Best Picture, it has to overcome a lot.
- 1:54:12Speaker 1: Of It's just like the science fiction thing or the
- 1:54:15Speaker 1: comedy thing, which the previous emailer, that Felger factor emailer
- 1:54:19Speaker 1: is absolutely right. Those movies you have to have like
- 1:54:22Speaker 1: this profound movie that's like solving all the world's problems
- 1:54:26Speaker 1: to get nominated for Best.
- 1:54:27Speaker 2: Pictures, get Best Picture. Yes, yeah, another one where it's
- 1:54:31Speaker 2: kind of a horror movie. Those kind of movies don't
- 1:54:35Speaker 2: get nominated by.
- 1:54:36Speaker 1: Mary elm Street didn't get it?
- 1:54:37Speaker 4: Now?
- 1:54:37Speaker 1: Was that a better franchise than Jaws? Like Box Office?
- 1:54:41Speaker 1: I'm sure it was. Yes, Yes, the thing is Like
- 1:54:44Speaker 1: I again like I love Terminator. It's one of my
- 1:54:46Speaker 1: favorite leases.
- 1:54:47Speaker 7: But if you can tell me that at the end
- 1:54:49Speaker 7: of Rocky when Adrian runs up on the like, I
- 1:54:53Speaker 7: still get emotional just thinking about it, even going into
- 1:54:56Speaker 7: Rocky too, when she's like win, right, like that whole
- 1:54:58Speaker 7: part when she's in the hospital and wakes up, but
- 1:55:00Speaker 7: she's like win.
- 1:55:01Speaker 1: When you see that's where that's where you lose. But
- 1:55:04Speaker 1: that's the only part I want to bring up. That's
- 1:55:05Speaker 1: the only part of hockey was growing, because it wasn't until.
- 1:55:08Speaker 8: That one point.
- 1:55:10Speaker 1: What are we doing here?
- 1:55:11Speaker 4: What do you mean boring?
- 1:55:14Speaker 7: Rocky two was boring except for that part, except for
- 1:55:17Speaker 7: the part where Adrian wakes up and tells him to
- 1:55:19Speaker 7: win and the music starts and and Mickey goes but
- 1:55:21Speaker 7: I'm waiting.
- 1:55:22Speaker 2: For take it, man.
- 1:55:24Speaker 4: It's also much Rocky one is a much better movie,
- 1:55:27Speaker 4: But Rocky two has a much better boxing ending, Like
- 1:55:31Speaker 4: the fighting is much better.
- 1:55:33Speaker 1: When have you ever seen a fight where both guys
- 1:55:36Speaker 1: hit each other and they both go right and one
- 1:55:38Speaker 1: of them gets up at nine to it's iconic.
- 1:55:40Speaker 4: What do you mean I've never seen I'm not saying
- 1:55:43Speaker 4: it's realistic. I'm saying it was better. It was a
- 1:55:46Speaker 4: better scene, That's what I'm saying.
- 1:55:48Speaker 7: I've just never seen a boxing fight where guys are
- 1:55:49Speaker 7: just punched the face, punched the face, back punched the.
- 1:55:51Speaker 2: Face nine round. I want to show you. I want
- 1:55:56Speaker 2: to show you.
- 1:55:58Speaker 8: For that one.
- 1:55:58Speaker 2: I want to show you.
- 1:55:59Speaker 1: Rocky three literally comes out like this.
- 1:56:04Speaker 4: Right his hands are not watching it Paul, it's a movie.
- 1:56:09Speaker 4: It's not supposed to be Like.
- 1:56:11Speaker 1: I think the first one was was pretty good, like
- 1:56:14Speaker 1: when when he hits them with like the the one
- 1:56:17Speaker 1: shot in the first round of the first one, and
- 1:56:19Speaker 1: then they flashed to the bar and they're all going crazy, like.
- 1:56:21Speaker 4: Come on, that was awesome, man, it's awesome.
- 1:56:24Speaker 1: It's all awesome.
- 1:56:26Speaker 2: Like I said, for a boy like that to win,
- 1:56:30Speaker 2: it had to be iconic, it had to be you know,
- 1:56:33Speaker 2: it's Star Wars. I don't think that gut nominated for
- 1:56:35Speaker 2: Best Picture, did it? The original Star Wars number number.
- 1:56:40Speaker 7: Four Terminator Awards there, Yeah, I don't think that got
- 1:56:45Speaker 7: but box office wise, it was a huge hit.
- 1:56:48Speaker 1: Huge change change.
- 1:56:49Speaker 2: You know. It's the same thing with books, Like I
- 1:56:51Speaker 2: remember in high school, I had this one teacher said
- 1:56:55Speaker 2: that gone with the win. The novel was a piece
- 1:56:57Speaker 2: of s h I T whoa, whoa whoa, you know,
- 1:57:01Speaker 2: like it's bad literature, but everybody wrote read it.
- 1:57:05Speaker 15: You know.
- 1:57:06Speaker 2: Star Wars didn't get nominated, but yeah.
- 1:57:10Speaker 1: So Star Wars was nominated for eleven Oscars and won six,
- 1:57:14Speaker 1: but not the Best Art, Direction, costume, design, Editing, visual effects, sound,
- 1:57:19Speaker 1: and perhaps most famously, original score. And by John Williams,
- 1:57:23Speaker 1: but it was snubbed for Best on This Date.
- 1:57:27Speaker 2: I mean the acting was terrible when I just brought
- 1:57:31Speaker 2: it up.
- 1:57:31Speaker 4: Even before the show.
- 1:57:32Speaker 2: I watched the first Yes, that was a good movie.
- 1:57:42Speaker 4: They're having like like dinner or something, and Luke just
- 1:57:45Speaker 4: like storms off like a child.
- 1:57:47Speaker 2: Like this is a grown band. Well he was going
- 1:57:51Speaker 2: through things. Yeah. I didn't mean it, But what would
- 1:57:56Speaker 2: you think about Disney because they owned the franchise now
- 1:58:02Speaker 2: giving doing a remake of four, five, six?
- 1:58:04Speaker 4: Oh god, no, no, no, oh god, they've already ruined it.
- 1:58:09Speaker 2: Enough, okay, all right.
- 1:58:12Speaker 1: The episode whatever? They just did that nine thing that
- 1:58:15Speaker 1: still makes me mad. I can't even go back.
- 1:58:17Speaker 4: I saw that in theaters, like The Last of the
- 1:58:20Speaker 4: Braves or anything from it. I was appalled, Like I
- 1:58:24Speaker 4: like was ready to like get up.
- 1:58:25Speaker 1: And screen the skywater.
- 1:58:29Speaker 4: It was absolutely a tropan.
- 1:58:31Speaker 7: It was like they had a fan vote, put the
- 1:58:33Speaker 7: script together so bad, and we want somehow Palpatines come back.
- 1:58:37Speaker 2: You can't do that.
- 1:58:38Speaker 1: You can't say you've got two movies to set this up.
- 1:58:40Speaker 2: You can't in the middle of the start of the
- 1:58:42Speaker 2: third movie just be like.
- 1:58:42Speaker 1: Guess what the bad guy from three movies ago. He's back.
- 1:58:45Speaker 4: You could have set it up.
