Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: All right, it is time for another episode of the
- 0:02Speaker 1: Off the Air podcast from the Lynching Taco Morning Show.
- 0:06Speaker 1: You're at one A one to one w JR R
- 0:07Speaker 1: in Orlando. I'm Pat Lynch.
- 0:10Speaker 2: I'm Taco Bob.
- 0:11Speaker 1: Now, I know you alluded to having something you wanted
- 0:14Speaker 1: to discuss this morning, but I just have to again
- 0:17Speaker 1: vent a little. Okay, I'm still in utter disbelief over
- 0:21Speaker 1: what happened in Game four in the NBA Finals last
- 0:23Speaker 1: night in Madison Square Garden.
- 0:25Speaker 2: I looked at you probably a half hour ago and said,
- 0:29Speaker 2: I'm just I'm so shocked that I'm still shocked that
- 0:34Speaker 2: that happened. And it's not shocked at the Knicks. One
- 0:38Speaker 2: shocked that the Spurs lost. Because I was watching the
- 0:41Speaker 2: beginning of the game, like the first half, and they
- 0:44Speaker 2: were kicking Pat, they were unstopped.
- 0:46Speaker 1: I know you could you can look at this either way.
- 0:49Speaker 1: It was a monumental collapse or it was an incredible comeback.
- 0:53Speaker 1: And I guess if you're a Spurs fan, it was
- 0:56Speaker 1: a monumental collapse. And if you're the Knicks fan, of course,
- 1:00Speaker 1: Oh I never had a doubt.
- 1:02Speaker 2: Man, Okay, I know I'm gonna lost for words.
- 1:08Speaker 1: With it all right, that said, let me let me
- 1:10Speaker 1: just one more thought there if this thing ends up
- 1:13Speaker 1: going where we think it may be going now with
- 1:15Speaker 1: the Knicks winning their first championship since with the early seventies, I.
- 1:20Speaker 2: Mean, they're a great team, well deserved.
- 1:22Speaker 1: Sure, I don't want what's gonna happen in that city?
- 1:26Speaker 2: Oh, Medlam or bed What do you say, Mayhem, ma'am?
- 1:33Speaker 2: It's gonna be crazy? Mayham Bedlam is the same Mayham.
- 1:36Speaker 1: A thing you said? MEDLM.
- 1:38Speaker 2: I know, I got a lot going on in It's
- 1:41Speaker 2: a little nogging up here.
- 1:43Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean there was there were signs of that
- 1:45Speaker 1: after just one win in the series.
- 1:48Speaker 2: Oh yeah, when they were beating up fans with Spurs
- 1:52Speaker 2: jerseys on. That's just week.
- 1:53Speaker 1: You know. I've never really understood that angle of attending
- 1:59Speaker 1: a professional or college game for that matter, and we're
- 2:02Speaker 1: seeing this more and more these days, and I don't
- 2:05Speaker 1: I don't know what's changed other than it's just my
- 2:11Speaker 1: way or the highway mentality when it comes to just
- 2:14Speaker 1: about everything, you don't you don't want to hear or
- 2:17Speaker 1: see or even think about. Somebody else might not be
- 2:21Speaker 1: on the same page as you with insert whatever the
- 2:24Speaker 1: topic or situation may be.
- 2:25Speaker 2: I was talking to a friend who just got back
- 2:28Speaker 2: from the UK. He's, uh, he was in the what's
- 2:31Speaker 2: the what's the army they have over there, the British whatever,
- 2:35Speaker 2: the badass you know army. So he was over there
- 2:38Speaker 2: for years and then he just went back to visit
- 2:41Speaker 2: for like a forty year reunion with all his mates
- 2:43Speaker 2: and stuff. And said he went to a couple of
- 2:46Speaker 2: matches and this guy's in shape.
- 2:48Speaker 1: You're talking about soccer games?
- 2:49Speaker 2: Yes, he uh, he went to a couple of matches
- 2:52Speaker 2: while I was there. And he said afterwards, down in
- 2:56Speaker 2: the tube or whatever, you know, the portion of a subway.
- 3:00Speaker 1: Yeah, he said.
- 3:01Speaker 2: The fights, he said, breaking out left right, left, right,
- 3:06Speaker 2: all because you're not wearing the same jersey. And he
- 3:10Speaker 2: said there were two guys. He goes, well, but I'm
- 3:12Speaker 2: not kidding you there, and he was These guys were monsters,
- 3:16Speaker 2: like six foot something.
- 3:17Speaker 1: He goes.
- 3:18Speaker 2: They weren't there for the game or the match. He goes,
- 3:20Speaker 2: they were there to fight. That was it? What is
- 3:23Speaker 2: I mean? What is wrong with people?
- 3:25Speaker 1: You see it?
- 3:26Speaker 2: But it went on to say, Pat, sorry about jersey.
- 3:28Speaker 2: He's like, I almost would just not even wear a
- 3:32Speaker 2: jersey just to avoid you know, which is sad.
- 3:36Speaker 1: I mentioned it before, and I'm serious about this. If
- 3:40Speaker 1: I were to be attending a I'll use football or
- 3:45Speaker 1: college football as an example, I would be real apprehensive about,
- 3:50Speaker 1: you know, sporting my colors on you know, said enemy
- 3:55Speaker 1: turf in some places. In some places, I don't blame
- 3:59Speaker 1: you a bit.
- 3:59Speaker 2: I know that when I went as UCF fan to
- 4:03Speaker 2: a Gators game, Remember I went on that party bus.
- 4:05Speaker 1: Oh you're gonna catch shit there for sure.
- 4:07Speaker 2: I know. And I you know, I was like, well,
- 4:10Speaker 2: I'm here with UCF people, a bus full of them.
- 4:12Speaker 2: That's who I'm here to represent, even though my daughter
- 4:15Speaker 2: goes here. So I got a little bit of beef,
- 4:17Speaker 2: you know, like a couple of people chirping or whatever.
- 4:19Speaker 2: I'm like, dude, my daughter goes here.
- 4:22Speaker 1: Chirping's one thing. It's when it becomes you know, violence
- 4:24Speaker 1: and aggression is another.
- 4:26Speaker 2: And we got out of there. We weren't scared to
- 4:28Speaker 2: get out. It was just it got the shit kicked
- 4:30Speaker 2: out of them, so you see, F did. So We're like,
- 4:34Speaker 2: I got hey, we got a bus. Want to just
- 4:36Speaker 2: go back to the bus and party or you want
- 4:38Speaker 2: to go back to that party, and they go, yeah,
- 4:40Speaker 2: that's a good idea, get out of here and avoid
- 4:42Speaker 2: all the mayhem. But it's sad and like that. You
- 4:46Speaker 2: can't represent your team color somewhere.
- 4:49Speaker 1: Damn so where we live in man, you know everybody's
- 4:55Speaker 1: the when something happens, oh filming and boasted and.
- 4:59Speaker 2: Yeah, anyway, it's on a positive note. When's their next game?
- 5:05Speaker 1: Saturday night? Saturday? Then it goes back to San Antonio?
- 5:08Speaker 2: Got it?
- 5:09Speaker 1: Do you think the Spurs spirit was broken last night?
- 5:12Speaker 1: I asked Bulldog this earlier. I mean, it's highly highly unlikely.
- 5:17Speaker 1: What did he mention? Only one other team has come
- 5:19Speaker 1: back in the finals from being down three to one.
- 5:22Speaker 2: Not a great chance. But I'm telling you, Wemby, if
- 5:24Speaker 2: he just keeps getting in the paint and keeps being
- 5:27Speaker 2: scrappy like he has and is hitting him from three
- 5:30Speaker 2: like he was, they do still have a chance.
- 5:34Speaker 1: Well. The other thing to keep in San Antonio is
- 5:36Speaker 1: ahead of schedule with where they thought they were going
- 5:39Speaker 1: to be with this team they have. Yeah, so I
- 5:41Speaker 1: mean I'm not say like it's a consolation prize that
- 5:45Speaker 1: they've just made it and maybe fall short, but they
- 5:48Speaker 1: have a very very very bright future for the immediate,
- 5:53Speaker 1: you know, next few years. There's no doubt about.
- 5:56Speaker 2: Them, the Knicks, and let's not forget okay, okay, see, yeah,
- 6:00Speaker 2: but all three of those programs are great and gonna
- 6:04Speaker 2: be four years to come.
- 6:06Speaker 1: Maybe someday we'll feel the same way about the Magic.
- 6:09Speaker 1: We thought we felt that way this year, but again,
- 6:11Speaker 1: the injuries got those guys and they just couldn't get
- 6:14Speaker 1: everybody healthy at the same time for long enough for
- 6:17Speaker 1: it completely to gel and see what they were. We
- 6:20Speaker 1: saw flashes of it and false hope. Maybe you could say,
- 6:25Speaker 1: we're like, all of a sudden, then somebody's heard again,
- 6:27Speaker 1: or Fronds is out again, or there's a collapse, and
- 6:30Speaker 1: we saw it all and it's always next year, always
- 6:34Speaker 1: next year.
- 6:34Speaker 2: So I mentioned before, good luck to your team, whichever
- 6:39Speaker 2: one it is. We're not gonna beat you up because
- 6:41Speaker 2: your jears.
- 6:41Speaker 1: No, of course not.
- 6:43Speaker 2: But I saw I mentioned during the end of the
- 6:47Speaker 2: show that I wanted to bring up an old school story,
- 6:50Speaker 2: and it was that it was flashing back to that night. Okay.
- 6:53Speaker 2: We did a program called Brawls across America to raise
- 6:57Speaker 2: awareness for breast cancer. Was a great cause. We went
- 7:00Speaker 2: around to all different bars and collected bras, and then
- 7:04Speaker 2: we stroke we tied them all together and strown them
- 7:07Speaker 2: across I four.
- 7:09Speaker 1: So I believe it was not only did we collect bras,
- 7:12Speaker 1: but we were taking donations for some cancer you know, yes,
- 7:17Speaker 1: And then there was a prize involved with this. I
- 7:19Speaker 1: think you said it was a trip to New Orleans
- 7:21Speaker 1: or something.
- 7:21Speaker 2: That's what it was. It was that we were doing
- 7:23Speaker 2: all these things. I don't I think I don't know
- 7:28Speaker 2: if you were doing them or not, because I'd come
- 7:30Speaker 2: home and tell you they're coming to the studio and
- 7:32Speaker 2: tell you the stories the next time.
- 7:34Speaker 1: I distinctly remember being at those events and getting dropped cut.
- 7:38Speaker 2: Of course, then you were at the very last one.
- 7:41Speaker 1: I'm sure I was. I can't remember what I had
- 7:43Speaker 1: for lunch yesterday, but.
- 7:44Speaker 2: Well that's the one where we collected the final bras
- 7:48Speaker 2: and we had everybody in there help us tie them together, okay,
- 7:52Speaker 2: to you know, level them across eye four. Well, at
- 7:58Speaker 2: that thing, we're also was like, hey, the craziest thing
- 8:02Speaker 2: you can do for for tickets to go to this
- 8:07Speaker 2: New Orleans trip. It was for Marti Gras, okay, And
- 8:11Speaker 2: we had because see that's what it was. You didn't
- 8:14Speaker 2: go on the on the Marti Gras trip, No I did.
- 8:16Speaker 2: That was that the one Jeremy, Yes, okay, So that
- 8:21Speaker 2: that night, let's just take the Bras and everything out
- 8:23Speaker 2: of it. So that night we were giving away a
- 8:26Speaker 2: trip and it was like, okay, you know who's gonna
- 8:30Speaker 2: do what? And remember I had two girls. It was
- 8:35Speaker 2: at a pool place and they went down on each
- 8:38Speaker 2: other on a pool table in front of everybody. I mean,
- 8:41Speaker 2: this is before everybody has their phone with a camera
- 8:44Speaker 2: on it. And I was just thinking the difference of
- 8:48Speaker 2: how because you mentioned when we were talking about it
- 8:50Speaker 2: on air that there was a nineties zany nineties bit,
- 8:53Speaker 2: a radio bit, and how.
- 8:56Speaker 1: Different it was.
- 8:57Speaker 2: Dude, it was crazy. Everybody's cheered him on. Then we go.
- 9:03Speaker 2: It was a one day trip to New Orleans.
- 9:05Speaker 1: I don't think. I don't think something like that is
- 9:08Speaker 1: any different from what could happen today. I think crazier
- 9:11Speaker 1: crap happens these days.
- 9:12Speaker 2: I know, but in a complete I don't know. It
- 9:16Speaker 2: was just if you were there, you would have gone,
- 9:19Speaker 2: oh my god, are you kidding? But then so there's
- 9:24Speaker 2: about twelve of us probably on this flight wasn't that.
- 9:28Speaker 1: Wasn't that a deal? Because I know it was.
- 9:30Speaker 2: I don't want to say about company.
- 9:31Speaker 1: Okay, yes, wasn't it an in and out like in
- 9:34Speaker 1: twenty four hours? I was like a no sleep thing, right.
- 9:37Speaker 2: It was under twenty four hours? Okay. We we all
- 9:41Speaker 2: met at the airport.
- 9:42Speaker 1: And you wonder why I didn't want to go to that.
- 9:44Speaker 2: We all met at the airport, I think, Yeah, I
- 9:48Speaker 2: took Delta Dave, so myself, Delta Dave, and Jeremy, our
- 9:52Speaker 2: sales dude. He was the he was the rep for
- 9:55Speaker 2: the whole thing. Yeah, he drove us to the airport
- 9:58Speaker 2: or whatever. We all meet in the airport at this
- 10:01Speaker 2: one designated space and we get on the flight together.
- 10:06Speaker 2: So the two chicks that went down to each other,
- 10:08Speaker 2: now they're on the flight the next you know, like
- 10:10Speaker 2: a day or so later. So they won the trip,
- 10:13Speaker 2: so they got to feel like shit, you know, embarrassed
- 10:15Speaker 2: or whatever. They were one of the groups that won
- 10:17Speaker 2: the trip. So we all go and then we're gonna
- 10:21Speaker 2: meet it a place when we get there to get
- 10:23Speaker 2: a private shuttle to an upstairs on Marty what's that
- 10:28Speaker 2: Bourbon Street? On Bourbon Street? Upstairs? Fully catered with beer
- 10:35Speaker 2: and I don't know if they drinks because it was
- 10:38Speaker 2: a beer company. But and Poe boys, just tables of
- 10:43Speaker 2: Poe boys, so party balls. And the chick who went
- 10:47Speaker 2: down on the other chick at the bar. She ended
- 10:52Speaker 2: up missing the flight back because she got alcohol poisoning
- 10:56Speaker 2: at the strip club. After Marty Gral we only had
- 11:00Speaker 2: a certain amount of time. Everybody was drilled in their head.
- 11:03Speaker 2: You need to be back at the airport at insert time.
- 11:07Speaker 2: We all went either hung out together or some went
- 11:10Speaker 2: their separate way.
- 11:11Speaker 1: It was on everybody to find their way to the
- 11:13Speaker 1: airport after partying at Marty.
- 11:15Speaker 2: Gray, I think, or be back at the bus to
- 11:17Speaker 2: take the bus back.
- 11:18Speaker 1: I think it was genius.
- 11:20Speaker 2: Yeah, No, it was to take the bus back. So
- 11:22Speaker 2: everybody's going to meet here for the bus insert time. No,
- 11:26Speaker 2: I don't think so.
- 11:27Speaker 1: Anyway, she was a no show.
- 11:30Speaker 2: She was a no show. The boyfriend couldn't show because
- 11:33Speaker 2: he was at the hospital with her where she was
- 11:35Speaker 2: getting you know, tree hydrated and treatment. So they missed
- 11:40Speaker 2: the flight back. This is the trip that our buddy Jeremy.
- 11:45Speaker 2: If you've ever looked at somebody when they're just blackout drunk,
- 11:49Speaker 2: you can see right through their eyes and you're like,
- 11:51Speaker 2: that is not good. We're standing and you know, in
- 11:54Speaker 2: New Orleans they don't want you to during Marty Girl.
- 11:57Speaker 2: They don't want you using their bathroom all the time.
- 11:58Speaker 1: They don't let you use the bath rooms anywhere. It's
- 12:01Speaker 1: unless you're going into an establishment and spending money.
- 12:04Speaker 2: Exactly.
- 12:04Speaker 1: Yams like that in New York City too, man, I.
- 12:07Speaker 2: Know it's total BA. So we walk into this pizza place,
- 12:11Speaker 2: one of the ones that has the big round bubbled
- 12:14Speaker 2: glass where you can look at the slice and display case.
- 12:17Speaker 1: Yeah, we go there to buy.
- 12:18Speaker 2: Pizza so we can use the bathroom. Jeremy forgot the
- 12:21Speaker 2: part about where we're getting pizza to buy the bathroom.
- 12:24Speaker 2: And he's in blackout mode and I look and he's
- 12:26Speaker 2: pissing all over the friggin display case, the outside of it.
- 12:32Speaker 2: And I hit him with the army Go dude, stop,
- 12:35Speaker 2: and Dave goes stop and he looks at both like
- 12:38Speaker 2: and he's ready.
- 12:39Speaker 1: To fight us.
- 12:40Speaker 2: I go, I go, Jeremy, Jeremy, Hey, it's me, It's
- 12:43Speaker 2: me Taco. Come on, dude, people are in line going.
- 12:47Speaker 2: He just pissed on the display ca I go, come on,
- 12:51Speaker 2: let's go, so then we have to get out of
- 12:53Speaker 2: line because now people are upset. It was a crazy He.
- 12:57Speaker 1: Was the only one who got to go literally to
- 12:59Speaker 1: the bathroom.
- 13:00Speaker 2: Yeah, pretty much. And then I just I think I
- 13:02Speaker 2: just braved it and went in a corner of a
- 13:04Speaker 2: street somewhere. But there were Marty garral Man, you've been
- 13:07Speaker 2: to that, right, I have. Yeah, there were fights everywhere.
- 13:10Speaker 2: It was mayhem. I just remember the cops. They weren't
- 13:14Speaker 2: really on motorcycles, so they were all on big horses.
- 13:18Speaker 1: Yeah, I've been watching.
- 13:20Speaker 2: But then we all went back to the airport and
- 13:22Speaker 2: slept the most uncomfortable sleep ever, and then got back
- 13:25Speaker 2: on the plane hungover as you could ever imagine.
- 13:28Speaker 1: I've been watching this show called Homicide New Orleans. I
- 13:32Speaker 1: think it's on Netflix or something. It's basically about the
- 13:35Speaker 1: homicide unit in New Orleans.
- 13:37Speaker 2: It's the one you told me about it a couple
- 13:38Speaker 2: of weeks back.
- 13:39Speaker 1: And never mind the homicides and stuff, it's just you know,
- 13:43Speaker 1: the scenes from where a lot of these things take
- 13:46Speaker 1: place down in the quarter and near the quarter, and
- 13:50Speaker 1: so many times it's you know, two thirty three, thirty
- 13:54Speaker 1: four point thirty in the morning and the homicide detectives
- 13:58Speaker 1: get their call their home down to sleep. They're like,
- 14:00Speaker 1: we got a case. We need you to come down,
- 14:03Speaker 1: and you know, because you got to do the initial investigation,
- 14:06Speaker 1: and you go down there and just they haven't cleaned
- 14:10Speaker 1: up yet. The crowds have gone away, except for the
- 14:13Speaker 1: handful of drunks that are still, you know, hitting the bars,
- 14:16Speaker 1: which some of those bars never even closed, and they're
- 14:20Speaker 1: on the street. It's just so so disgusting. The plastic cups,
- 14:25Speaker 1: the food wrappers, the coleslaw, the urine stench and vomit,
- 14:31Speaker 1: and it's just if you've been to New Orleans, you
- 14:35Speaker 1: know that it's a unique odor that after the night's activities,
- 14:42Speaker 1: and they come in literally at the crack of dawn
- 14:44Speaker 1: each day of the city and just it is just gross. Dude.
- 14:50Speaker 2: Right when we walked up, or we're walking out, there
- 14:53Speaker 2: was just a hill, a little mountain of coal slaw
- 14:58Speaker 2: that was all.
- 14:59Speaker 1: Just I'm not kid you.
- 15:00Speaker 2: It was three feet tall, but probably I don't know
- 15:05Speaker 2: from here to here it was. It was just well,
- 15:10Speaker 2: I mean, the trip was amazing, and it was a
- 15:13Speaker 2: treat and you know, lucky, fortunate as hell to get
- 15:16Speaker 2: a take it.
- 15:17Speaker 1: But damn, I think New Orleans is probably if you're
- 15:23Speaker 1: going to weigh cities that potentially you could get in
- 15:26Speaker 1: the most trouble, and they've got to be outed near
- 15:28Speaker 1: the top.
- 15:29Speaker 2: Yeah them, probably Vegas.
- 15:32Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, Yeah, it's just at New Orleans it's like
- 15:36Speaker 1: you're really, you're most people aren't going there to do
- 15:40Speaker 1: much anything else other than eating.
- 15:42Speaker 2: Party unless they're going there. Yeah, eating is definitely because
- 15:46Speaker 2: the food's so good. But uh, unless it's like for music,
- 15:50Speaker 2: you know, big music fans going to like jazz fast.
- 15:53Speaker 1: But part of that as well. It's just that's just
- 15:58Speaker 1: part of the mentality in Orleans, in the you know,
- 16:01Speaker 1: it's built, it's baked in to the locals who lived there.
- 16:04Speaker 1: I mean, there could be a line at any given
- 16:07Speaker 1: minute marching down the street for any reason.
- 16:10Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 16:10Speaker 1: They just that's what they do. It's it's in that
- 16:13Speaker 1: that level. It's something to marvel at.
- 16:15Speaker 2: I can't believe, like you said that, we were all
- 16:18Speaker 2: supposed to meet back at a bus after Marty Gras
- 16:20Speaker 2: and it actually worked.
- 16:22Speaker 1: Well except for the well alcohol poisoning. Yeah, I mean,
- 16:26Speaker 1: did you ever hear what happened to her? Yeah?
- 16:28Speaker 2: Because it got word on the bus. Somebody said, we
- 16:32Speaker 2: really can't leave without her and Jeremy, or yes we can. No,
- 16:36Speaker 2: he was in no shape to even talk. But somebody,
- 16:39Speaker 2: somebody mentioned, well, the bus is leaving because you have
- 16:43Speaker 2: a flight to get on, so choose, and all right,
- 16:46Speaker 2: let's go. But yeah, we got words. Somebody goes, yeah,
- 16:50Speaker 2: we were at the strip club with him. I think
- 16:52Speaker 2: it was the chick that she went out on. So yeah,
- 16:55Speaker 2: we're we're at the strip club late and all of
- 16:57Speaker 2: a sudden she just fell out. Had to bring it
- 17:00Speaker 2: to the hospital.
- 17:01Speaker 1: So it's funny to move on here. You mentioned something
- 17:05Speaker 1: during our show today on JR R. You brought up
- 17:11Speaker 1: that this month it's thirty years that we've been.
- 17:14Speaker 2: Doing Yeah, I think it was yesterday. I guess, Okay, well.
- 17:18Speaker 1: Whatever, And you made the comments like, no one here
- 17:22Speaker 1: even knows no one in the building who works here,
- 17:26Speaker 1: our co work, even at the other stations, they have
- 17:28Speaker 1: no idea. Isn't that strange because we sit here and
- 17:32Speaker 1: this is a tad bit of jealousy coming out. I'll
- 17:35Speaker 1: be the achievements that get recognized internally here for people,
- 17:44Speaker 1: for whatever reason it may be. So ite's so celebrating
- 17:47Speaker 1: this or that or whatever. Okay, yeah, that's great, that's great.
- 17:51Speaker 1: But for whatever reason, man, j r R. I'm not
- 17:54Speaker 1: just saying us, it's just this station in general. It's
- 17:57Speaker 1: like truly black Sheep, well one hundred percent. It's incredible. Man.
- 18:03Speaker 1: Have you.
- 18:05Speaker 2: Do you know how long let's say John and Jenny
- 18:08Speaker 2: have been together.
- 18:09Speaker 1: Yeah, they came over right now, right after she changed format.
- 18:14Speaker 1: Well no, she went to a good time oldies yeah,
- 18:17Speaker 1: and then became a Room. But and they've been there
- 18:20Speaker 1: from the start of Room. But twenty five.
- 18:22Speaker 2: Years, right, I know. But that's what I was checking
- 18:24Speaker 2: is if you knew, because I don't know how long
- 18:27Speaker 2: Chad and Leslie have been a team, don't. The Monsters
- 18:30Speaker 2: just had like their thirtieth I think. And but that's
- 18:34Speaker 2: not the original team. Well, John and Jenny were John
- 18:38Speaker 2: and Jenny and they are twenty five years Yeah.
- 18:42Speaker 1: Johnny at Excel obviously been around as long as we have.
- 18:46Speaker 2: Oh yeah long.
- 18:46Speaker 1: Different team members come and go, same with the Monsters,
- 18:50Speaker 1: but with us, we've been the core of the show always. Yes,
- 18:54Speaker 1: there's been a third you know party involved at times,
- 18:57Speaker 1: which never works out, and it took a well it
- 19:00Speaker 1: took some drastic stuff to happen for them to finally
- 19:03Speaker 1: understand that.
- 19:04Speaker 2: But the good thing is is that with it being
- 19:07Speaker 2: the thirtieth anniversary this month of the show, but you
- 19:10Speaker 2: don't really know what day in June, but because it
- 19:13Speaker 2: was thirty years ago. But the boss once he realized
- 19:17Speaker 2: because we told him, he goes, oh, it's thirty years Okay,
- 19:19Speaker 2: we'll get a band for you. Well, what band do
- 19:22Speaker 2: you want? Glad Pat tosses out Metallica?
- 19:25Speaker 1: Can you just get Metallica? You know we've done a
- 19:27Speaker 1: lot with them over the years.
- 19:29Speaker 2: So obviously kidding, But yeah, Boss man Rick is gonna
- 19:34Speaker 2: towards the end of the month, we're gonna.
- 19:36Speaker 1: Have pulling something together.
- 19:38Speaker 2: Yeah. I think we're gonna just randomly pick listeners to
- 19:42Speaker 2: come and I think they whether they win into the thing,
- 19:45Speaker 2: it's just gonna catered by cater by a restaurant. I'm
- 19:50Speaker 2: thinking to tell him, probably Big Taco or Tibby's, but catered.
- 19:54Speaker 1: By a asturants.
- 19:54Speaker 2: Don't, don't, don't, don't you're input obviously, Well.
- 19:57Speaker 1: What I'm saying is, don't you know put the out
- 20:00Speaker 1: there and you know he's already got something in mind.
- 20:03Speaker 2: Oh no, that's fine, So who cares no? So then
- 20:08Speaker 2: and then he's going to have a band, so that
- 20:10Speaker 2: I know, and yeah, it's gonna be pretty cool thirty
- 20:14Speaker 2: years dude. Yeah, like when we were talking about it
- 20:19Speaker 2: Pat and Night a while back and he said that
- 20:22Speaker 2: thing that you just spelled out. Yeah, well with Johnny,
- 20:26Speaker 2: he's been here forever. Yeah, but it's not an original crew.
- 20:29Speaker 2: I mean, Brian and Ray have been with him a
- 20:31Speaker 2: long time, long time, great friends of ours. But then
- 20:35Speaker 2: you go to the different shows. I mean like Chad
- 20:37Speaker 2: and Leslie before that it was John and Leslie and
- 20:41Speaker 2: over John and Jenny are the are the only other
- 20:44Speaker 2: staples over twenty five years. Yeah, so good for them too.
- 20:48Speaker 2: And then I mean obviously the monsters, but it's it's ross.
- 20:53Speaker 2: Yeah at this point, I mean angels on there, but
- 20:56Speaker 2: same thing he has been, but he moved around a
- 20:59Speaker 2: room I remember for and well, we're lucky and we
- 21:02Speaker 2: got to remember that we are.
- 21:04Speaker 1: And the bottom line is because of you, the listeners.
- 21:07Speaker 1: Thank you. That's and that was where I wanted to
- 21:10Speaker 1: end things with. Is no one around here may notice,
- 21:15Speaker 1: but you all notice, and we thank you, and I
- 21:18Speaker 1: know we say it over and over and over. We
- 21:22Speaker 1: don't get to come in and do this unless you listen,
- 21:27Speaker 1: and that is measured. We live and die by how
- 21:32Speaker 1: many people are listening. And to be able to have
- 21:35Speaker 1: lived for thirty years, I mean that's a testament to
- 21:39Speaker 1: all of you.
- 21:40Speaker 2: Yeah, we are judged on it, as Pat said, and
- 21:44Speaker 2: also you supporting our sponsors you have over the years
- 21:48Speaker 2: for years and years, and thank you. So we loko to.
- 21:52Speaker 1: Sap beyond no no. So something's in the works. We're
- 21:55Speaker 1: not quite sure what. When we do know, we'll we'll
- 21:57Speaker 1: let you know obviously. So with that, I think that's
- 22:02Speaker 1: a good place to hop off this morning.
- 22:04Speaker 2: You know it's getting ready to happen right after the
- 22:06Speaker 2: show today.
- 22:06Speaker 1: You're gonna go pee on a display case somewhere.
- 22:08Speaker 2: Nope, leave that one to Jay Dog.
- 22:12Speaker 1: What's he doing these days?
- 22:13Speaker 2: I don't know. I know that he was working for
- 22:17Speaker 2: a different radio company and then that one went out
- 22:20Speaker 2: of business. I'm not sure. I hope the best, but uh,
- 22:24Speaker 2: maybe I'll hit him up. I think I have his number.
- 22:26Speaker 2: But after this, you know what's happening monumental day that
- 22:31Speaker 2: I mentioned yesterday, What Paramour Brown is going to be
- 22:36Speaker 2: the new owner of one cabin cruiser.
- 22:40Speaker 1: Are you going to make the deal today? Is the deal.
- 22:43Speaker 2: Closing deals already? Yeah? He gave me money a couple
- 22:45Speaker 2: of weeks ago to go. Dude, when are you gonna
- 22:47Speaker 2: pick up your body? Man, I'm busy, I'm busy, bob.
- 22:50Speaker 1: So yeah, he's the proud owner of the forty three
- 22:53Speaker 1: foot cabin cruiser. Just plushly appointed. It is. What is ripple,
- 23:00Speaker 1: MRK two fifties? It is? And you let that go
- 23:04Speaker 1: for a pittance?
- 23:06Speaker 2: Yeah? Yeah, so he is gonna be unless see unless
- 23:10Speaker 2: you said, I'm sorry, something came up with one of
- 23:12Speaker 2: my daughters.
- 23:13Speaker 1: How happy is your wife going to be to have
- 23:14Speaker 1: that thing out of the driveway?
- 23:16Speaker 2: Oh, should be happy. I mean we all will because
- 23:18Speaker 2: the kids are home from college. But uh, I got
- 23:22Speaker 2: some good use out of it and had a good time.
- 23:24Speaker 1: Didn't have like the bushes and stuff growing over and
- 23:27Speaker 1: stuff because you haven't had that out in a long time.
- 23:30Speaker 2: When I kept it in the backyard, it did. Oh,
- 23:32Speaker 2: I'm sure there was a plant growing in it. I
- 23:34Speaker 2: remember you were like part of a hedge, you remember,
- 23:39Speaker 2: I was.
- 23:41Speaker 1: I remember when you first got that thing. You were
- 23:43Speaker 1: you and Doyle would go out on a fairly regular basis.
- 23:46Speaker 2: Yeah, we're fishing all the time, and then it just stopped. Well,
- 23:50Speaker 2: it's just because when COVID here, it was here. It
- 23:54Speaker 2: was great because the only things you could do were
- 23:57Speaker 2: fish and golf. Everything else, surf, everything else was shut down. Well,
- 24:02Speaker 2: he and I were fishing the hell out of everywhere. Yeah,
- 24:05Speaker 2: but it just stopped, I think just because it got
- 24:08Speaker 2: so hot. And with his company he owns the landscape
- 24:10Speaker 2: and company, he's working on Saturdays, and then when it
- 24:13Speaker 2: comes to Sundays, my wife and I try to go
- 24:16Speaker 2: to church eat Sunday. So it just kind of fizzled,
- 24:19Speaker 2: you know. So I'm glad that Paramore is going to
- 24:22Speaker 2: get used out of it with bith Lobilly and with
- 24:24Speaker 2: his grandkids.
- 24:25Speaker 1: He did say though he's going to change the name
- 24:26Speaker 1: of it, he didn't change the name of the vessel.
- 24:30Speaker 2: He's the proud owner.
- 24:31Speaker 1: He will physically have to remove the lettering that says
- 24:33Speaker 1: cabin cruiser. Don't you say it's a sad day.
- 24:36Speaker 2: See what Pat's trying to do to me, drippy face,
- 24:40Speaker 2: You're not gonna cry. I'm stoked that he's that he's
- 24:44Speaker 2: buying it and it works all around. That's why he
- 24:48Speaker 2: gave him the better deal than I was selling it.
- 24:49Speaker 2: He gets the trailer to everything everything. Yeah, the trailer
- 24:52Speaker 2: alone is worth a grand. It's a magic tilt trailer. Okay,
- 24:55Speaker 2: they at least a grand, So yeah, give him a
- 24:58Speaker 2: solid deal. Unused trollo utter because I had gift cards
- 25:02Speaker 2: from Christmas for bass Pro and I already had rods
- 25:04Speaker 2: and everything. So said, so you're moving.
- 25:08Speaker 1: You're moving on from the boat, which many people who
- 25:11Speaker 1: end up with votes to find out and do.
- 25:13Speaker 2: Yeah, but mine was never a problem. It was easy
- 25:15Speaker 2: because it's just a job boat. It's drive here to there,
- 25:18Speaker 2: drive home.
- 25:19Speaker 1: I think I came to the conclusion, you know, because
- 25:21Speaker 1: I love voting on someone else's boat.
- 25:23Speaker 2: Oh yeah.
- 25:24Speaker 1: If I were ever to buy a boat, it would
- 25:26Speaker 1: be a pontoon boat all day long. Yeah, all day
- 25:29Speaker 1: because that's no issues either, low maintenance. Yeah, and it's
- 25:34Speaker 1: you get out there and I'm not looking to go
- 25:36Speaker 1: any place super fast, but you can get up there
- 25:38Speaker 1: if it needs to, and it accommodates a lot of people.
- 25:41Speaker 2: You're still not doing it though.
- 25:42Speaker 3: Hell no, no, no, lord, no, all right, everybody, thank
- 25:47Speaker 3: you for checking out the lynching Taco Off the Air podcast,
- 25:50Speaker 3: usually new episodes pretty much every Thursday.
- 25:53Speaker 2: Spread the word about it if you can, just if
- 25:55Speaker 2: you listening right now, Tell two people to check it
- 25:58Speaker 2: out sometime, and then they tell too, and it grows
- 26:01Speaker 2: because we'd appreciate that.
- 26:02Speaker 1: Have a tremendous day, Be safe, We'll see you
