- 0:01Welcome to this Good Friday special edition of
- 0:05Voices of Life, a ministry of the Church for
- 0:08Life. I'm Pastor David. Today we enter one of
- 0:12the most sacred moments in our faith, the day
- 0:16our Savior willingly walked the road to Calvary.
- 0:21Today is not a day we rush through. It is a day
- 0:26we sit with, a day we feel. A day we remember.
- 0:32Good Friday invites us to stand at the foot of
- 0:36the cross, to hear the words of Jesus, to witness
- 0:40the depth of his love, and to understand the
- 0:46cost of our redemption. We can feel this in our
- 0:50heart very closely. We walk slowly and reverently
- 0:55through scripture, reflecting teaching. prayer,
- 0:59and moments of quiet mediation. Let this be our
- 1:03sacred space for your heart. Let us begin. We
- 1:11turn now to the passion narrative. As you listen,
- 1:15imagine the scene, the tension, the injustice,
- 1:19the silence of the Lamb of God. Then they led
- 1:26Jesus from... to governor's headquarters. Pilate
- 1:34said to them, Behold the man! And they cried
- 1:39out, Crucify him! Jesus stands before Pilate,
- 1:46innocent yet condemned. The crowd chooses Barbarus.
- 1:54The soldiers scourge him a crown of thorns is
- 2:03pressed up upon his head he carries the cross
- 2:09through the streets of Jerusalem he stumbles
- 2:13he rises he continues the weight of the world
- 2:19rests upon his shoulders they reach Golgotha
- 2:27They reach his final place. Nails are driven.
- 2:35The cross is lifted. The sky begins to darken.
- 2:42Jesus speaks. Father, forgive them. Today you
- 2:51will be with me in paradise. Woman, behold your
- 2:57son. My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?
- 3:05I thirst. It is finished. Father, into your hands
- 3:13I commit my spirit. These words are not just
- 3:17history. They are the heartbeat of our salvation.
- 3:22Let them settle into your spirit. as we continue.
- 3:28The cross was not an accident. It was not a tragedy
- 3:35spiraling out of control. It was the plan of
- 3:40God formed before the foundation of the world.
- 3:44On Good Friday, we confront the reality that
- 3:48Jesus did not simply die for us. He died instead
- 3:53of us. He carried our sin, our shame, our separation,
- 3:59our judgment. And he carried it willingly. The
- 4:06weight of the cross was not the wood. It was
- 4:09the world. And he bore it for love. The cross
- 4:16reveals the seriousness of sin and the greatness
- 4:19of grace. It shows us the depth of our brokenness.
- 4:24and the even deeper mercy of God. Jesus endured
- 4:29the cross because he could not bear the thought
- 4:33of eternity without you. Let that truth rest
- 4:38in your heart. I invite you now to close your
- 4:43eyes. Picture yourself standing near the cross.
- 4:52Hear the wind, feel the dust, see the darkened
- 4:56sky. Listen to the words of Jesus. Feel the weight
- 5:03of the moment. Let his reality of his sacrifice
- 5:07wash over you. Let the cross speak to the places
- 5:14in you that still need healing and forgiveness
- 5:18and hope. You are not standing in the place where
- 5:22love was proven. Take a slow breath. Let gratitude
- 5:28rise. Let presence of God surround you. Let the
- 5:32cross draw you closer to the heart of Christ.
- 5:37Take these next moments to breathe, to pray,
- 5:40to sit in the presence of God. Let this be the
- 5:46time of quiet worship. A time of reflection,
- 5:49a time of surrender. Allow the Holy Spirit to
- 5:55minister to you in the stillness. Let the love
- 5:59of Christ settle deep within your soul. As we
- 6:03begin the second hour, as we continue our Good
- 6:07Friday journey, we turn our hearts to what the
- 6:11cross accomplished. The cross is not only a place
- 6:14of suffering, it is a place of victory. Through
- 6:18the cross, Jesus accomplished what no human effort
- 6:21ever could. He reconciled us to God. He broke
- 6:27the power of sin. He removed the barrier of shame.
- 6:33He opened the way into the presence of God. He
- 6:38declared that the death would not have the final
- 6:41word. The veil was torn. The curse was broken.
- 6:45The debt was paid. The door was opened. This
- 6:50is why Good Friday is good. Not because of the
- 6:55pain, but because of the purpose. Not because
- 6:59of the suffering, but because of the salvation.
- 7:04And not because of the darkness, but because
- 7:08of the dawn that follows. Throughout the history
- 7:13of the church, countless lives have been transformed
- 7:16by the power of the cross. Stories of forgiveness,
- 7:20stories of restored families, stories of freedom
- 7:23from addiction, stories of renewed purpose, stories
- 7:29of healing, stories of hope. Each story echoes
- 7:34the same truth. The cross still changes lives.
- 7:42And your story is part of that great testimony.
- 7:48The same Jesus who hung on the cross is the Jesus
- 7:54who walks with you today. The same love that
- 7:59held him there is the love that holds you now.
- 8:07Let us enter a time of guided prayer. Lord Jesus,
- 8:13we come before you today with humble hearts.
- 8:17We remember your suffering. We honor your sacrifice.
- 8:23We receive your forgiveness. We surrender our
- 8:29lives again to your love. Heal the broken places
- 8:34within us. Restore what has been lost. what has
- 8:42grown weak. Renew what has grown weary. Lead
- 8:48us deeper into your grace. Draw us closer to
- 8:53your heart. Let the power of the cross transform
- 8:57us from the inside out. Amen. Jesus had said
- 9:04when he prepared the bread in the cup, this is
- 9:09my body. broken for you. Take and eat. Remember
- 9:15his sacrifice. Jesus said, this cup is the new
- 9:20covenant in my blood. You take and drink from
- 9:26that cup. Give thanks for the forgiveness of
- 9:31sins. Let this moment of communion be a sacred
- 9:37reminder that you are loved. Good Friday ends
- 9:42in silence, in waiting, in the stillness of the
- 9:47tomb. But we do not wait without hope. We wait
- 9:52knowing that resurrection is coming. We wait
- 9:56knowing that light will break through the darkness.
- 10:01We wait knowing that the story is not over. Thank
- 10:07you for joining me on this Good Friday special.
- 10:16May the love of Christ hold you, heal you, and
- 10:20lead you into the hope of Easter morning. May
- 10:24his peace rest upon you. May his grace surround
- 10:29you. And may his sacrifice draw you ever closer
- 10:34to his heart. We close now with a prayer. Lord
- 10:42Jesus, on this sacred day, we pause before your
- 10:46cross with humbled hearts. We remember your suffering,
- 10:50your surrender, and the love you held, and the
- 10:56love that held you there. Thank you for bearing
- 10:59our sin, for carrying our shame, for choosing
- 11:02the path that set us free. Today, we stand in
- 11:08awe of your mercy. As we leave this moment, let
- 11:13the truth of your sacrifice remain close. Let
- 11:16it shape our thoughts, soften our hearts, and
- 11:20guide our steps. Teach us to love as you have
- 11:24loved us. Teach us to forgive as you have forgiven
- 11:28us. Teach us to walk in the light of your grace.
- 11:34In the quiet of this Good Friday, hold us in
- 11:36your peace. in the waiting of this night, anchor
- 11:42us in hope. And as we look toward the dawn of
- 11:45resurrection, prepare our hearts to receive the
- 11:48joy that is coming. We thank you, Jesus. We honor
- 11:53you. We remember you. And we rest in the finished
- 11:59work of your cross. Amen. Thank you for joining
- 12:07us. We will be back to you on Easter morning
- 12:11with a beautiful, wonderful, getting to know
- 12:17Jesus moment that I hope will stay with you for
- 12:22the following year. Until then, this is Pastor
- 12:25David. Thank you, and God bless you.
