Wyandotte County’s top administrator David Johnston is stepping down, with his last day set for July fifth, following a vote of no confidence from the fire union and amid calls for smarter fiscal management. Mayor Christal Watson will propose an interim replacement at Thursday’s board meeting. Meanwhile, veteran assistant administrator Bridgette Cobbins, who’s served for three decades, is also retiring — with Casey Meyer from the legal team stepping in temporarily.
