• 2:25
  Speaker 7: Good morning.
• 2:25
Speaker 6: I may have you put that microphone in front of
• 2:27
Speaker 6: you there if you don't care, there you go, prop
• 2:29
Speaker 6: it up a little bit. There we go, all right,
• 2:31
Speaker 6: there we good morning. Thank you for being here, Thank
• 2:33
Speaker 6: you for being here. It goes a little bit of
• 2:35
Speaker 6: background on spoblist. It's very successful business, not only here
• 2:40
Speaker 6: in Charleston Smith Street, but also in Beckley. Give us
• 2:44
Speaker 6: the overall view of spoblists.
• 2:46
Speaker 7: Sure, I'm from Beckley. I started it there, was in
• 2:49
Speaker 7: business for about five years and moved to Charleston. Started
• 2:53
Speaker 7: all over with just myself as a staff member, my
• 2:57
Speaker 7: daughter and one massage therapist, and have moved several times.
• 3:02
Speaker 7: Bought a great warehouse down town and we now have
• 3:07
Speaker 7: around sixty staff members.
• 3:09
Speaker 6: Wow, I realized you had that many people aboard there. Wow,
• 3:12
Speaker 6: that's that's great. Talk about the different we'll break it
• 3:15
Speaker 6: down specifically because I want to learn about this, but
• 3:18
Speaker 6: we'll talk about specific some of the other stories. Overall
• 3:21
Speaker 6: the services that you offer.
• 3:22
Speaker 7: There, we absolutely offer everything. It is a full day spot,
• 3:27
Speaker 7: so we massage, facials, pedicures, manicures, lash lashes, hair removal.
• 3:36
Speaker 7: We have that Lotus room that's infrared saunas and steam rooms.
• 3:41
Speaker 7: We just added a brand new medspa on the third floor,
• 3:45
Speaker 7: so the spa goes from the first floor all the
• 3:48
Speaker 7: way up to the sixth floor.
• 3:49
Speaker 6: But for regular complex there isn't it.
• 3:52
Speaker 7: It really is. It's a true experience to come in.
• 3:55
Speaker 7: Everybody is friendly. It's not the kind of place that
• 3:59
Speaker 7: you walk in and you feel like it's some kind
• 4:02
Speaker 7: of stuffy a spa that you know. It's just we
• 4:05
Speaker 7: make everybody feel great. They're there, they're relaxing. It's just
• 4:10
Speaker 7: overall we try to make a very nice experience.
• 4:13
Speaker 6: And this is a learning experience for me because I
• 4:15
Speaker 6: know very little about this, but I'm learning with the
• 4:17
Speaker 6: listeners right now. When you said the eyelash thing, this
• 4:21
Speaker 6: is huge right now, it is huge. Talk about that
• 4:24
  Speaker 6: it is.
• 4:24
Speaker 7: We've been doing lash extensions for fifteen years, so we
• 4:28
Speaker 7: were pretty much about the first people in Charleston to
• 4:31
Speaker 7: offer them. It's amazing because you feel like you're waking
• 4:35
Speaker 7: up with makeup. You don't have to do anything. If
• 4:38
Speaker 7: you have lashes, you don't You just really don't even
• 4:41
  Speaker 7: need anything.
• 4:41
Speaker 6: Else, you know. I think a lot of times when
• 4:44
Speaker 6: people think about spa services, they think, as you said,
• 4:46
Speaker 6: it's very stuffy, it's very very very vain, and so
• 4:51
Speaker 6: on and so forth. But you see all types of
• 4:53
Speaker 6: people with just a couple of things done, with a
• 4:56
Speaker 6: lot of things done. And you see men we did
• 4:58
Speaker 6: talk about your mail client to.
• 5:00
Speaker 7: Our male client, tell is huge. We you know they
• 5:03
Speaker 7: of course we have the hair salon, but also we
• 5:06
Speaker 7: probably have just as many men that get massages as women.
• 5:10
Speaker 7: We try to get them to do facials and pedicures
• 5:13
Speaker 7: as well, but you know, well and they do some.
• 5:16
Speaker 7: But yeah, it's it's I have twelve massage therapists, male
• 5:20
Speaker 7: and female massage therapists, so yeah, we have something for everyone.
• 5:23
Speaker 6: Really, if someone is interested in maybe learning more about this,
• 5:27
Speaker 6: do you offer like if somebody just wants to come in,
• 5:29
Speaker 6: I don't know, consultations the right word. But if you
• 5:32
Speaker 6: just want to come in and say, well what do
• 5:34
Speaker 6: you offer and what what can I get? You kind
• 5:37
Speaker 6: of take us through that. Absolutely.
• 5:39
Speaker 7: The front desk is very informed on everything we do.
• 5:42
Speaker 7: They're happy to show everybody around, give them a little
• 5:44
Speaker 7: toward the SPA, our new MEDSPA. We actually do free
• 5:48
Speaker 7: consultations and that's more, you know, services that go along
• 5:52
  Speaker 7: with skin resurfaces.
• 5:54
  Speaker 6: A series medspas.
• 5:56
Speaker 7: Yeah, we're real excited about it. I mean it literally
• 5:58
Speaker 7: just opened. We have all the news technologies for the
• 6:02
Speaker 7: MEDSPA and yeah, it is a free consultation and there
• 6:06
Speaker 7: is usually something there for everyone. Painless services all the
• 6:10
Speaker 7: way up to skin resurfacing and making you look ten
• 6:13
  Speaker 7: years younger.
• 6:14
Speaker 6: So well, I need that. I definitely need that.
• 6:17
  Speaker 8: We all did.
• 6:18
Speaker 6: Talking to Kathy Rubio Spoblst. The Dave Alan Showing five
• 6:21
Speaker 6: eighty Live is brought to you apart by your hometown
• 6:23
Speaker 6: baseball team, the Charleston Dirty Birds, the Selango Law Light
• 6:26
Speaker 6: the Night continuing over at Gomar Ballpark through January the first,
• 6:28
Speaker 6: every night except for Christmas Night. Get your tickets in
• 6:31
Speaker 6: advance by visiting Dblightthenight dot com I want to talk
• 6:34
Speaker 6: just a tad about the business and about and about
• 6:37
Speaker 6: you because you're somebody you're on I think Charleston City Council.
• 6:40
Speaker 6: Your business though, is involved with Charleston Urban Works and Kurra.
• 6:44
Speaker 6: I love it when a business is not just a business,
• 6:47
Speaker 6: but it's involved in the community. Talk about that.
• 6:49
Speaker 7: Yeah, I decided to run for city council just because
• 6:54
Speaker 7: of the you know, downtown. I feel like it could
• 6:57
Speaker 7: everything could be better in the Warehouse district in particular,
• 7:01
Speaker 7: and thought I would really like to get more involved
• 7:03
Speaker 7: with the community. So I did that and it's working
• 7:08
Speaker 7: on great. I've loved my experience there.
• 7:11
Speaker 6: Yeah, well in getting and my point is is, you
• 7:14
Speaker 6: know I've talked about the Charleston Nervoorgers and these other
• 7:17
Speaker 6: organizations that you believe in getting involved in in the
• 7:20
Speaker 6: community and giving back to the community.
• 7:22
Speaker 7: Right, Yes, exactly. It's been a great experience and cure
• 7:26
Speaker 7: is actually you know, they actually help I'm sure people
• 7:30
Speaker 7: know they take old buildings and try to help business
• 7:34
Speaker 7: people start a new business and things like that. So
• 7:37
Speaker 7: it was just exciting for me to think that I
• 7:40
Speaker 7: could help be involved.
• 7:41
Speaker 6: Well, when I have we had these buildings in Charleston,
• 7:45
Speaker 6: some of these older buildings, and they've got so much character, Kathy,
• 7:48
Speaker 6: I mean, so much architecture. They don't build them like
• 7:51
Speaker 6: that anymore. With all due respect to we have some
• 7:53
Speaker 6: great architectural companies here in the valley and we I've
• 7:56
Speaker 6: had many of them on the show. They do, but
• 7:57
Speaker 6: they'll even tell you we just we just don't build
• 8:00
Speaker 6: things like that anymore because you just can't find the
• 8:02
Speaker 6: stuff like they did back in the day.
• 8:04
  Speaker 7: No, that's our place. It's a warehouse and I love
• 8:07
Speaker 7: our building. It's over one hundred years old.
• 8:09
  Speaker 3: You know.
• 8:09
Speaker 7: The floors are solid concrete that are fourteen inches thick,
• 8:12
Speaker 7: and it's all brick and concrete and definitely, yeah, it
• 8:16
Speaker 7: was made with love back in the day. They definitely do.
• 8:19
Speaker 6: You know the history of the building, Okay, we're gonna
• 8:21
Speaker 6: give us a little bit that I do.
• 8:22
Speaker 7: It was originally the produce warehouse. The train tracks are
• 8:27
Speaker 7: directly behind it, and there it was a loading dock
• 8:30
Speaker 7: all along the back of the building and all of
• 8:33
Speaker 7: the produce for Charleston came into that.
• 8:35
Speaker 8: Warehouse location one location.
• 8:38
Speaker 7: Yeah, the old scale that they weighed the produce is
• 8:40
Speaker 7: still in the building. It's originally standing there.
• 8:43
Speaker 8: It's a beautiful Yeah, that is awesome.
• 8:45
Speaker 6: Now we all know this I said earlier, Kathy, people
• 8:49
Speaker 6: of all backgrounds use spas. But I will say this
• 8:52
Speaker 6: to the guys out there if you're looking for a
• 8:53
Speaker 6: great gift, and to the gals, because we know the
• 8:56
Speaker 6: guys use the spot too. If you're looking for something,
• 8:58
Speaker 6: no matter your sex of or for your significant other,
• 9:02
Speaker 6: it's Pobless would be a great place to go for Christmas.
• 9:04
Speaker 7: It really is. It's more than just buying somebody an object.
• 9:09
Speaker 7: It's actually buying them an experience. It's something that people
• 9:13
Speaker 7: don't spend the money on.
• 9:14
Speaker 3: Themselves a lot of times.
• 9:15
Speaker 7: And we can make a great little gift package where
• 9:18
Speaker 7: you know, we could throw a candle in there, or
• 9:20
Speaker 7: jewelry or skincare along with a gift card and it
• 9:24
Speaker 7: is absolutely I think.
• 9:25
  Speaker 8: The perfect gift.
• 9:27
Speaker 6: I mean again, you can just basically just walk in
• 9:30
Speaker 6: and just say, okay, here's what my person I'm buying
• 9:33
Speaker 6: for likes could be a parent, could be a cowork
• 9:36
Speaker 6: or whatever. This is what they like. You take it
• 9:38
Speaker 6: from here and you can do that.
• 9:39
Speaker 7: That's exactly right. We see people come in and they
• 9:43
Speaker 7: just look totally confused, and it's usually mess.
• 9:46
Speaker 6: I'm gonna say, I'm not gonna type cast. I'm not
• 9:49
Speaker 6: going to stereotype, but let's face it, they probably are
• 9:52
  Speaker 6: big stinky men.
• 9:54
Speaker 7: They are big stinky men. Sometimes they smell good, but
• 9:58
Speaker 7: you know, they definitely look have a look of a
• 10:01
Speaker 7: dumbfounded you know, like I don't know what and we
• 10:05
Speaker 7: scream help, nope, and we certainly do. We tell them
• 10:09
Speaker 7: everything we have. We have awesome packages that are discounted,
• 10:13
Speaker 7: and usually we head them in that direction because the
• 10:16
Speaker 7: gift card you could buy for a package which would
• 10:18
Speaker 7: be like a massage, a facial, a pedicure, all of
• 10:21
Speaker 7: our relaxing services. But if they don't want to use
• 10:24
Speaker 7: it for that, they could use it for anything they
• 10:26
Speaker 7: want because it is a dollar amount, so you can't
• 10:28
Speaker 7: go wrong. It fits everyone.
• 10:30
Speaker 6: Well, let's talk about your hours leading up to Christmas.
• 10:33
Speaker 6: Where we are at.
• 10:33
Speaker 7: Sure, it's nine am to nine pm Monday through Friday.
• 10:38
Speaker 7: I'm sorry, eight am to eight pm Monday through Friday,
• 10:41
Speaker 7: at nine until six on Saturday, closed on Sunday, but
• 10:45
Speaker 7: we are going to be open Christmas Eve as well.
• 10:48
Speaker 6: For nine truly last minute, last minute, and.
• 10:51
Speaker 7: We see them nine until one. But you can also
• 10:54
Speaker 7: easily give us a call. We could sell your gift
• 10:57
Speaker 7: certificate over the phone and send it to your email,
• 11:00
Speaker 7: or you could go to spa bliss dot com and
• 11:03
Speaker 7: purchase a gift certificate and print it out from home.
• 11:06
Speaker 6: Talk about your how you communicate out there with like
• 11:09
Speaker 6: social media websites, you get that stuff. I'm sure, Oh.
• 11:13
Speaker 7: Yeah, we have it all. We have our Facebook pages, spobless,
• 11:16
Speaker 7: our Instagram is spobless. Wv you could go to any
• 11:20
Speaker 7: of those. Look at our services, people's experiences.
• 11:24
Speaker 6: Sure, all the reviews.
• 11:25
  Speaker 7: Keav.
• 11:26
Speaker 6: It's been a pleasure having you on the show today.
• 11:28
Speaker 6: Leave our listeners with like the final final thirty or
• 11:31
Speaker 6: forty five seconds. I'm giving you a little airtime here
• 11:34
Speaker 6: just to just sell your business.
• 11:35
Speaker 7: Okay, would you like me to sing?
• 11:38
Speaker 6: Look, we just came off of our WVRC Media Christmas
• 11:42
Speaker 6: party over at the Roughner last night. Some of the
• 11:45
Speaker 6: singing that came from there. We need good singers right now.
• 11:50
Speaker 7: So you walk in Spa bless you just vision your
• 11:53
Speaker 7: day of the at the spa. You walk in, they
• 11:56
Speaker 7: give you a robe and sandals. You go up to
• 11:59
Speaker 7: the dressing room. You change clothes. There's showers there, there's
• 12:04
Speaker 7: places for women to take a shower to dry their
• 12:07
Speaker 7: hair and men as well. Go down to the fifth floor,
• 12:09
Speaker 7: get your massage, and then you go out to the
• 12:12
Speaker 7: relaxation area and have some hot tea and a little cookie.
• 12:16
Speaker 7: Go your esthetician will pick you up from there and
• 12:19
Speaker 7: give you a facial send you down to the fourth floor.
• 12:21
Speaker 7: You get a pedicure, manicure, your hair done. So it
• 12:26
Speaker 7: is truly, like I said already a couple of times,
• 12:28
Speaker 7: it's truly an experience. It's not just come in and
• 12:32
Speaker 7: grab you and give you a massage, but it's truly
• 12:35
Speaker 7: a place that you could rely.
• 12:37
Speaker 6: Charles's really lucky to have a place like this. I
• 12:39
Speaker 6: mean really it is, because people travel hundreds of miles
• 12:43
Speaker 6: for this kind of service, and they probably pay a
• 12:45
Speaker 6: whole lot more for it too, including the gas to
• 12:47
Speaker 6: get there here right here in Charles.
• 12:49
Speaker 7: Yeah, we're the largest day spot in West Virginia and
• 12:52
Speaker 7: probably the Tristate area at least. So yeah, we've tried
• 12:56
Speaker 7: to make a great place for West Virginias and local people.
• 13:01
Speaker 6: KEM all right, Kathy, it's been a pleasure having you

• 16:38
  Speaker 6: She'd love that.
• 16:39
Speaker 8: Well, my wife takes care of most of it. All
• 16:41
Speaker 8: I'm left with is basically her.
• 16:43
Speaker 6: I was going to say, you got to take care
• 16:44
Speaker 6: of her or nothing else gets taken care of in
• 16:46
Speaker 6: the future. Just so you know, all right, you has
• 16:49
Speaker 6: to come on the show today because you have an
• 16:50
  Speaker 6: announcement to make.
• 16:51
Speaker 8: I will turn it over to you. I do, David,
• 16:53
Speaker 8: thank you for having me today. I'm just on here
• 16:56
Speaker 8: to announce that I'm running for the state Senate in
• 16:58
Speaker 8: the seventeenth district. Okay, next year, I will be running
• 17:01
Speaker 8: in the Republican primary.
• 17:03
Speaker 6: Okay, why are you running?
• 17:06
Speaker 8: The number one thing is jobs and economic growth. I
• 17:08
Speaker 8: think we've done some really positive things in recent years
• 17:12
Speaker 8: in terms of economic development economic growth, but at the
• 17:15
Speaker 8: same time, I don't think we've gone far enough. One
• 17:19
Speaker 8: of the reasons why I ran for the House of
• 17:21
Speaker 8: Delegates was jobs, job creation, getting government out of the way.
• 17:25
Speaker 8: And my main motivation is that I want to create
• 17:29
Speaker 8: more jobs, have greater economic opportunity for all West Virginians,
• 17:33
Speaker 8: and I think we're not doing enough with that. I think,
• 17:35
Speaker 8: oftentimes down in the legislature, and I saw this firsthand.
• 17:38
Speaker 8: You were there, Yeah, I was there. In many instances,
• 17:43
Speaker 8: a lot of the special interests got in the way
• 17:45
Speaker 8: of true economic growth. So, for example, one of the
• 17:48
Speaker 8: things I saw when I was down there is oftentimes
• 17:51
Speaker 8: larger corporations advocating for more government. I saw that down there,
• 17:55
Speaker 8: and I think the reason for that is and I
• 17:57
Speaker 8: think part of it is just self interest. Larger corporations
• 18:02
Speaker 8: can absorb the costs of regulations more than smaller businesses,
• 18:06
Speaker 8: and what that does oftentimes is that by having more regulations,
• 18:10
Speaker 8: it helps weed out the competition for large scale major corporations,
• 18:15
Speaker 8: and I think one of the things that we can
• 18:17
Speaker 8: do is make life easier for smaller businesses because frankly,
• 18:20
Speaker 8: that's where a lot of economic growth comes from across
• 18:22
Speaker 8: the country. Small businesses here in the Kannaga Valley are
• 18:26
Speaker 8: the lifeblood of our economy. That's where new jobs come from,
• 18:29
Speaker 8: that's where innovation comes from. And the neat thing about
• 18:32
Speaker 8: smaller businesses too, and I know this because I'm a
• 18:34
Speaker 8: small business owner, is that we have the ability to
• 18:37
Speaker 8: turn on a dime a little bit faster than a
• 18:39
Speaker 8: bigger corporation. So that's where a lot of innovation comes from.
• 18:42
Speaker 8: And we need to make sure that we are growing
• 18:43
Speaker 8: the economy, helping out smaller businesses, helping out all West Virginians,
• 18:48
  Speaker 8: and I think that's a key component.
• 18:49
Speaker 6: Talking with Chris Sprett, who has just announced he's going
• 18:51
Speaker 6: to be running for State Senate as a Republican in
• 18:54
Speaker 6: District seventeen, explain the district to us.
• 18:56
Speaker 8: Sure, this district consists of if you're going from up
• 18:59
Speaker 8: at Elk View, goes down through Elkview, Cissonville, Eastern Kanaal County,
• 19:05
Speaker 8: north of the River, gets all of Charleston, South Charleston
• 19:09
Speaker 8: then it goes out into Saint Albans. That's that's essentially
• 19:13
Speaker 8: the district. And on that side of the county near
• 19:16
Speaker 8: north of the river, it's it's it's up in that area.
• 19:20
Speaker 8: Then once you get down South Charleston and then in
• 19:23
Speaker 8: the western part of the county kind of south of
• 19:25
Speaker 8: the river. Uh Dunbars in the eighth but yeah, uh
• 19:29
Speaker 8: South Charleston, St Albans, all of that is in the district.
• 19:33
Speaker 6: And we mentioned that before. You were in the in
• 19:35
Speaker 6: the House of Delegates, and and that's not uncommon sometimes
• 19:39
Speaker 6: people will be in the House and then they transition
• 19:41
Speaker 6: to the Senate. What talk about your experience in the
• 19:43
Speaker 6: House because you were a relative newcomer to politics, you
• 19:46
Speaker 6: know when you when you got elected and you went
• 19:48
Speaker 6: in there. So talk about your experience in the House
• 19:51
Speaker 6: and some of the maybe some of the things that
• 19:52
Speaker 6: that you were proud of or that you accomplished that
• 19:54
Speaker 6: you think will also now turn to make you a
• 19:56
  Speaker 6: good state senator.
• 19:57
Speaker 8: Well, I think the tax cuts that was one of
• 19:59
Speaker 8: the main things that we were to achieve. The tax
• 20:00
Speaker 8: cuts were monumental. We were able to get those through.
• 20:04
Speaker 8: It helped out all West Virginians. I think that was
• 20:07
Speaker 8: a big thing. The Hope Scholarship, that was a big thing.
• 20:12
Speaker 8: School choice, that's something that helped a lot of families.
• 20:15
Speaker 8: That's something that I think is going to push us
• 20:17
Speaker 8: forward going into the future. School choice, whether it's no
• 20:21
Speaker 8: matter the type of school we're talking about public school,
• 20:24
Speaker 8: if we're talking about private school, across the board, providing
• 20:28
Speaker 8: for more school choice. I was very very happy to
• 20:31
Speaker 8: be a part of that. And I think making sure
• 20:35
Speaker 8: that we are leading the nation when it comes to
• 20:38
Speaker 8: energy production. I'm really happy with a lot of the
• 20:40
Speaker 8: things that we were doing there in the legislature in
• 20:42
Speaker 8: terms of having, above all all check all the boxes
• 20:47
Speaker 8: when it comes to energy. I'm a big advocate for that.
• 20:49
Speaker 8: I think that's something else that we did. We need
• 20:52
Speaker 8: to have. I think government needs to be neutral when
• 20:55
Speaker 8: it comes to just about everything. It needs to be neutral.
• 20:57
Speaker 8: In terms of energy. We shouldn't be playing favorites. For example,
• 21:01
Speaker 8: with the so called green energy, I don't think they
• 21:03
Speaker 8: should get special treatment. And I think we should make
• 21:06
Speaker 8: sure that we have the best resources possible in terms
• 21:09
Speaker 8: of our energy production. So those are some of the
• 21:11
Speaker 8: things that I'm very proud of.
• 21:13
Speaker 6: And you know, one of the one of the issues
• 21:16
Speaker 6: that West Virginia has had is population lost. Now, we
• 21:20
Speaker 6: have seen in some areas some gains. We've seen announcements
• 21:22
Speaker 6: from places like New Core and things of that nature,
• 21:25
Speaker 6: which has certainly certainly helped. But how do we get
• 21:29
Speaker 6: people to want to either choose to move to West
• 21:32
Speaker 6: Virginia or and specifically we'll just talk about your district, yes,
• 21:36
Speaker 6: or how do we get people that are here to
• 21:38
Speaker 6: stay here? Specifically are young people.
• 21:40
Speaker 8: I think a key part of it is broadband. I
• 21:44
Speaker 8: think that's one area where West Virginia can greatly improve.
• 21:47
Speaker 8: I mean when people move here. I talk to people
• 21:49
Speaker 8: all the time who are moving, and I do a
• 21:51
Speaker 8: lot of estate planning with my business. I'm talking with
• 21:53
Speaker 8: people all the time that are moving to West Virginia
• 21:56
Speaker 8: because they love it here. We have a low cost
• 21:58
Speaker 8: of living. We have of like right here in the valley.
• 22:01
Speaker 8: I mean, you have everything you need. My mother in
• 22:04
Speaker 8: law just moved down here from Buffalo, New York. I'm
• 22:06
Speaker 8: from West Virginia, but you know she's from Buffalo, New York.
• 22:08
Speaker 8: She moved down here, loves it, absolutely loves it. We
• 22:12
Speaker 8: have a low cost of living, but there are things
• 22:14
Speaker 8: that we can do to tweak this to provide for
• 22:16
Speaker 8: greater opportunities. Broadband expansion is one, if we can get
• 22:21
Speaker 8: a lot of those younger people, people who can I mean, look,
• 22:24
Speaker 8: the economy in the future is going to be such
• 22:26
Speaker 8: that people can live just about anywhere, and we have
• 22:29
Speaker 8: to make the case in West Virginia that this is
• 22:31
Speaker 8: a place where you can have all the amenities that
• 22:34
Speaker 8: you have in other places, but we have the added
• 22:37
Speaker 8: benefits of some other things as well, a low cost
• 22:39
Speaker 8: of living, access to the outdoors. The new Ever Gorge
• 22:42
Speaker 8: is right next door. We have great hospitals right here
• 22:46
Speaker 8: in Kanau Valley. Those are some of the things that
• 22:48
Speaker 8: I think we can do. I think that's going to
• 22:50
Speaker 8: be the key to it. And also too, making sure
• 22:53
Speaker 8: that if businesses are going to relocate here, if people
• 22:56
Speaker 8: are going to move in, that we make it as
• 22:59
Speaker 8: easy is possible for them to do it. And we've
• 23:01
Speaker 8: we've taken some good strides in recent years to do that.
• 23:04
Speaker 6: You think we still have more work to do in
• 23:06
  Speaker 6: that respect, though.
• 23:07
Speaker 8: We do absolutely. I mean, I think we can do
• 23:09
Speaker 8: things like I think the income tax could be lowered
• 23:12
Speaker 8: even further. I think that we can be getting government
• 23:15
Speaker 8: out of the way. Everything needs to be looked at
• 23:19
Speaker 8: from the perspective of how are we going to make
• 23:22
Speaker 8: things easier for somebody to open a business? How can
• 23:25
Speaker 8: we make it easier just in terms of lowering costs.
• 23:29
  Speaker 8: I mean, that's something that I hear about a lot
• 23:31
Speaker 8: about is lowering costs. Price is going up, and I
• 23:34
Speaker 8: think there are some things that we can do about that.
• 23:36
Speaker 8: I think one of the things that we can do
• 23:39
Speaker 8: is simply on a national level. We can't do anything
• 23:42
Speaker 8: about certain things in terms of the broader economy, but
• 23:44
Speaker 8: we can do things about rising wages. I think the
• 23:49
Speaker 8: more people we get in here, I think it's going
• 23:51
Speaker 8: to help everybody across the board. Broadband, I think is
• 23:54
Speaker 8: an important component of that.
• 23:56
Speaker 6: Talking with Chris Sprett again, who is announce he is
• 23:58
Speaker 6: running for State Senate District seventeen is a Republican of
• 24:01
Speaker 6: a Dave Island Show and five eighty Live broad to
• 24:03
Speaker 6: you in part by Pinnacle Consultants. They're lead paint inspection
• 24:06

• 24:09
Speaker 6: the presence of lead based paints and buildings and other
• 24:11
Speaker 6: structures using a three phase approach including inspection sampling and
• 24:14
Speaker 6: lab analysis and an assessment report. Check out Pinnacle Corp
• 24:17
Speaker 6: dot net because what you don't know can hurt you.
• 24:20
Speaker 6: You know, it's a crowded field that's going to be
• 24:22
Speaker 6: running in twenty twenty six. Some of the states Senate
• 24:24
Speaker 6: seats are up, all the House seats are up. And
• 24:26
Speaker 6: just like you know, the Chris the Democrats controlled West
• 24:28
Speaker 6: Virginia for eighty three years, and you had different factions
• 24:31
Speaker 6: of Democrats. So I mean it was like, Okay, we
• 24:33
Speaker 6: have these Republicans, but we have this kind of we
• 24:35
Speaker 6: have pro business, we have a more conservative, we have
• 24:37
Speaker 6: you know, evangelic, whatever you want to name. Now the
• 24:40
Speaker 6: Republican party that they're in charge, they are starting to
• 24:44
Speaker 6: and it's not necessarily a bad thing, don't get me wrong.
• 24:46
Speaker 6: They just did different sections. If you had to define
• 24:50
Speaker 6: what kind of Republican the chrisprint is, what would that be?
• 24:54
Speaker 6: A free market constitutional conservative? That's it. That's the best
• 24:58
Speaker 6: way to describe who I am. I believe limited government,
• 25:01
Speaker 6: I believe in traditional conservative West Virginia values, and I
• 25:06
Speaker 6: believe in the constitution. And I think our constitution works.
• 25:09
Speaker 6: We have the greatest constitution in the history of the world.
• 25:12
Speaker 6: And I think if we work within those confines, if
• 25:15
Speaker 6: we honor the Constitution, if we work towards some limited
• 25:20
Speaker 6: government and liberty, that's how we're going to advance as
• 25:23
Speaker 6: a state. I mean, you see that in other states
• 25:25
Speaker 6: that have grown a lot over the years. They have
• 25:28
Speaker 6: more economic opportunity, they have more freedom, and I think
• 25:31
Speaker 6: that's what perhaps distinguishes me from other types of Republicans.
• 25:35
Speaker 6: I mean, there is such a thing as a big
• 25:38
Speaker 6: government Republican in the state of West Virginia. A lot
• 25:41
Speaker 6: of these people are tied to the special interests. They're
• 25:44
Speaker 6: tied to the folks that want to keep the status
• 25:48
Speaker 6: quo when it comes to special carve outs for different groups,
• 25:53
Speaker 6: and such a government should be neutral.
• 25:56
Speaker 8: We should get out of the way. Nobody should be
• 25:58
Speaker 8: getting favoritism in government. It should be neutral, and the
• 26:01
Speaker 8: rules should be applied equally and fairly.
• 26:06
Speaker 6: Last I guess it was last week. And now this
• 26:08
Speaker 6: is on the House side. I know you're running for Senate,
• 26:10
Speaker 6: but last week House Speaker Roger Hanshaw came out with
• 26:13
Speaker 6: an announcement about there, you know what the things that
• 26:16
Speaker 6: he would like to see in the House. Haven't heard
• 26:19
Speaker 6: that from the Senate, we probably will. It's still early.
• 26:21
Speaker 6: But one of the things he talked about was he
• 26:23
Speaker 6: talked about we want to focus on jobs, which you
• 26:25
Speaker 6: mentioned earlier. To focus on jobs, we want to focus
• 26:28
Speaker 6: on the economy and things that nature and get away
• 26:31
Speaker 6: from some of the so called social issues. Now, again,
• 26:34
Speaker 6: that was the House and you're running for Senate. Where
• 26:37
Speaker 6: are you on some of these social issues, any particular
• 26:40
Speaker 6: ones that you want to and I'll say trans issues
• 26:42
Speaker 6: that have been debated, or vaccines or any of the above.
• 26:45
Speaker 6: Did you have any opinions on any of those?
• 26:47
Speaker 8: Well, I will say this, the idea that we should
• 26:50
Speaker 8: be limiting the kind of legislation that we're bringing forth
• 26:52
Speaker 8: in the legislature, I completely disagree with. I mean that
• 26:56
Speaker 8: that whole idea. Look, we can do all of the above,
• 26:59
Speaker 8: I mean, do we want to. I don't think most
• 27:01
Speaker 8: West Virginians. I don't think most Republican Party primary voters
• 27:06
Speaker 8: want us to just ignore certain cultural issues. I mean,
• 27:10
Speaker 8: and that's not to say we should focus exclusively on them.
• 27:13
Speaker 8: But you know, for example, if most people don't want
• 27:18
Speaker 8: biological boys competing in girls sports, they just don't, Okay,
• 27:22
Speaker 8: most West Virginians. If you take that idea to its
• 27:25
Speaker 8: logical conclusion. We're not addressing those sort of issues, and
• 27:28
Speaker 8: those sort of issues are important to many West Virginians.
• 27:31
Speaker 8: It's important that we have legislation and we have laws
• 27:34
Speaker 8: that reflect the values of the people here, and it's
• 27:37
Speaker 8: important that Look, we're a conservative state and we can
• 27:40
Speaker 8: do all of the above. So respectfully, I disagree with
• 27:44
Speaker 8: the speaker if he was suggesting that we should just
• 27:46
Speaker 8: ignore certain issues. We can do all of the above. Okay,
• 27:49
Speaker 8: we can do multiple issues all at once. So that's
• 27:53
Speaker 8: the approach that I have. It's not like we're passing
• 27:56
Speaker 8: a lot of those laws anyways. When I was there,
• 27:58
Speaker 8: it was it probably wasn't five percent of the bills
• 28:01
Speaker 8: that we've passed that dealt with those topics. So I
• 28:04
Speaker 8: think they obviously got a lot of attention just the.
• 28:06
Speaker 6: Shiny objects, as you well know because you've been there,
• 28:09
Speaker 6: and most things that go through the legislature would be
• 28:13
Speaker 6: it's all important, but to a lot of people it
• 28:15
Speaker 6: would be kind of boring stuff. And a lot of
• 28:16
Speaker 6: it's bipartisan too. That never gets that never never gets
• 28:19
  Speaker 6: any play.
• 28:20
Speaker 8: Yeah, right, absolutely, So I think that you know it's
• 28:25
Speaker 8: we're not doing a whole lot of that anyways. But look,
• 28:28
Speaker 8: if it represents the will of the people, if it's
• 28:31
Speaker 8: important to West Virginians, we should at least be having
• 28:33
Speaker 8: a conversation about it. We can do more than one
• 28:35
Speaker 8: we can address more than one topic at once.
• 28:38
Speaker 6: Talk about your campaign. You're going to be out knocking
• 28:39
Speaker 6: on door. I mean, you've done this before in the House,
• 28:43
Speaker 6: so you're going to be out knocking on doors. You're
• 28:45
Speaker 6: looking forward to some meet the candidate's forums.
• 28:47
Speaker 8: I think we're going to be doing meet the candidate forums.
• 28:49
Speaker 8: I think we're going to be talking with people, going
• 28:51
Speaker 8: out in the public where I'm going to be talking
• 28:54
Speaker 8: to local leaders, trying to build consensus on how we
• 28:58
Speaker 8: can move the state of West Virginia forward in the
• 29:00
Speaker 8: seventeenth District here in Kannall County. I think all of that,
• 29:04
Speaker 8: I think we're going to be doing that. I think
• 29:05
Speaker 8: it's important that we get out there and we talk
• 29:07
Speaker 8: about the issues. I think it's important that we make
• 29:12
Speaker 8: sure that everybody is on board with good conservative legislation,
• 29:17
Speaker 8: free market legislation. We're going to be doing all of that,
• 29:19
Speaker 8: talking to as many people as we can do.
• 29:22
Speaker 6: You have your social media or Facebook, websites or anything
• 29:27
  Speaker 6: up like that.
• 29:27
Speaker 8: Yes, we'll social media. It's really really simple. It's at
• 29:30
Speaker 8: print for the people that's on X, that's on Facebook.
• 29:33
Speaker 8: If anybody wants to check out the campaign and get updates,
• 29:37
Speaker 8: they can check it out there.
• 29:40
Speaker 6: As you know, you've done this before. I close every
• 29:42
Speaker 6: interview segment with a candidate by doing something I call
• 29:46
Speaker 6: the final thirty, which is not timed. But I just
• 29:48
Speaker 6: want to know why should people vote for Chris Pritt
• 29:51
Speaker 6: for Republican State Senate District seventeen.
• 29:55
Speaker 8: Because I'm going to represent the will of the people.
• 29:57
Speaker 8: I'm going to represent West Virginia values. I'm going to
• 30:00
Speaker 8: to advocate for those things that are important to all
• 30:02
Speaker 8: West Virginians. Economic growth, conservative West Virginia First policies, That's
• 30:08
Speaker 8: what I'm going to be advocating for. We have to
• 30:11
Speaker 8: be working together to advance the state in a direction
• 30:14
Speaker 8: that is consistent with our values, that represents West Virginia values.
• 30:18
Speaker 8: I think going forward in terms of legislation, Look, if
• 30:24
Speaker 8: anybody does any research on me, they're going to know
• 30:26
Speaker 8: what my values are, They're going to know what my
• 30:28
Speaker 8: record is. I think my record is that of a conservative,
• 30:32
Speaker 8: a free market constitutional conservative. I did that in the House.
• 30:36
Speaker 8: I'll do the same thing in the Senate.
• 30:38
  Speaker 7: Chris.
• 30:38
Speaker 6: We wish you the best of luck. We'll be talking
• 30:40
Speaker 6: in the future. Chris Spritt, Republican candidate for State Senate
• 30:43
Speaker 6: District seventeen and always pleasure to see you, my friend.
• 30:45

• 31:39
Speaker 13: viewing Christmas lights, decorating the tree, attending Christmas Church service.
• 31:43
Speaker 13: Many of us consider these core holiday traditions. For over
• 31:46
Speaker 13: a century, another tradition in the Canaw Valley was to
• 31:49
Speaker 13: give a Christmas donation to Union Mission to help feed, clothe,
• 31:53
Speaker 13: and shelter the needy this Christmas. Would you consider building

Speaker 6: the five thousand dollar Doge dividends? Worthy two thousand dollars
• 34:40
Speaker 6: TAFT tariff dividends. I think Trump is teasing money for support.
• 34:44
Speaker 6: It's it's one of the things about the president, and
• 34:50
Speaker 6: you've I have made my feelings known on President Trump
• 34:54
Speaker 6: many many times on this show and other other places.
• 34:57
Speaker 6: I don't need to go into my feelings because I
• 34:59
Speaker 6: always prefer to hear b your feelings when it comes
• 35:01
Speaker 6: to things. But it's one of the reasons why President
• 35:04
Speaker 6: Trump gives true conservatives a little heartburn, because when you
• 35:09
Speaker 6: start and look, nobody is a bigger supporter of the
• 35:11
Speaker 6: military than I am. But when you start throwing money
• 35:17
Speaker 6: at things in a country that is trillions and trillions
• 35:21
Speaker 6: and trillions of dollars the debt, that's where a lot
• 35:25
Speaker 6: of people look at President Trump and go, you know,
• 35:27
Speaker 6: that's not very conservative. As the text I think just
• 35:33
Speaker 6: pointed out there, Dex says, how dare Chris Pritz and
• 35:38
Speaker 6: a great Shelley Capito's multi decades long effort to improve

• 35:51
Speaker 6: to West Virginia than the cost of living will rise,
• 35:54
Speaker 6: right That'll I don't know about that. Texas coming up
• 35:59
Speaker 6: or not. Tech is what I'm going to tell you
• 36:01
Speaker 6: coming up later today on Metro News Midday powered by
• 36:03
Speaker 6: some langueled law. Someone thought it would be a good
• 36:06
Speaker 6: idea for me to fly solo today. Thirteen News and
• 36:08
Speaker 6: Tonight Live anchor Amanda Baron is off on assignment today.
• 36:11
Speaker 6: She's actually going to be in Columbus interview in Ohio
• 36:15
Speaker 6: Governor Mike DeWine, so you can look for that on
• 36:17
Speaker 6: thirteen News coming to PSUE. Executive producer Stephanie Pauley is
• 36:21
Speaker 6: also off for a few days, so the senior producer,
• 36:24
Speaker 6: Ryan Nicholson and I are going to be in charge
• 36:26
Speaker 6: of the whole dang thing coming up today. Who knows
• 36:29
Speaker 6: what we'll get into. I do know that Hobby Kergible
• 36:31
Speaker 6: is going to stop by of course, he dropped a
• 36:33
Speaker 6: new commentary earlier and also a new state of Minds.
• 36:37
Speaker 6: This is this interview segment that we do on Metro
• 36:39
Speaker 6: News Television. It's really really informative and that's brought to
• 36:43
Speaker 6: you by Hope Gas is going to drop. That's a
• 36:44
Speaker 6: lit'll drop at seven thirty tonight again a Bible on
• 36:47
Speaker 6: Metro News Television. By the way, cheap plug if you
• 36:50
Speaker 6: have a downloaded the Metro News television app. Make sure
• 36:52
Speaker 6: that you do so we'll talk to Hoppy about that.
• 36:55
Speaker 6: Jeff Jenkins is going to stop by State Democratic Party
• 36:58
Speaker 6: chair and delicate Mike Pushkin this year day. You know,
• 37:00
Speaker 6: the president going back to President Trump is angering some
• 37:04
Speaker 6: in the GOP because of recent comments that he wants
• 37:07
Speaker 6: to reclassify cannabis, and that's not setting well with some
• 37:15
Speaker 6: members of the GOP, specifically the more conservative wings of
• 37:20
Speaker 6: the party, the more evangelical wings of the party, and
• 37:23
Speaker 6: trust me, there are a lot of wings the Republican
• 37:26
Speaker 6: Party right now. So Mike Pushkin is going to join
• 37:29
Speaker 6: the State Democratic Party chair to talk about that. Also,
• 37:33
Speaker 6: meteorologist Joe Fitzwater is going to stop by. You know,
• 37:36
Speaker 6: we hadn't talked to Joe in about a week since
• 37:38
Speaker 6: he brought the snowstorm in on his last week, and
• 37:40
Speaker 6: now today, championshis are going to be in the sixties
• 37:42
Speaker 6: and at least some areas of the state are going
• 37:44
Speaker 6: to be looking at severe weather. I think they kind
• 37:47
Speaker 6: of downplayed it for our area. They originally said that
• 37:49
Speaker 6: the Canawa Valley may have some severe weather, some high winds,
• 37:51
Speaker 6: and I think it's starting to be downplayed a little bit.
• 37:53
Speaker 6: But some areas of the state are actually going to
• 37:55
Speaker 6: get snow, some areas are going to get the severe weather.
• 37:57
Speaker 6: We'll talk to Joe Fitzwater about that coming up a
• 38:00
Speaker 6: little bit later on. Also, we're gonna talk about the
• 38:03
Speaker 6: state's infrastructure. Some troubling information came out about the infrastructure
• 38:10
Speaker 6: in West Virginia, so we are going to get to
• 38:12
Speaker 6: that coming up on the show today. Plus Brad McElhenney
• 38:15
Speaker 6: will stop by, and Putnam County Sheriff Bobby Egleton is
• 38:19
Speaker 6: going to join us on the show today. I'm going
• 38:20
Speaker 6: to get into this a little bit later on, but
• 38:22
Speaker 6: Sheriff Egleton will join us. This high end heist, if
• 38:26
Speaker 6: you will, of products from the day's Valley Kroger. It's
• 38:30
Speaker 6: a very interesting story. So I we're going to get
• 38:32
Speaker 6: into all that today coming up on Metro News Midday
• 38:35
Speaker 6: again without thirteen News in Tonight Live anchor Amanda Baron
• 38:38
Speaker 6: and me, well, no, I'll be here, she won't be here.
• 38:41
Speaker 6: That's coming up today at noon powered by Selaningo Law
• 38:43
Speaker 6: on this show tomorrow, Ange Gillenwater of course, it being Friday,
• 38:47
Speaker 6: she always does every Friday. From the Naal Charleston Newmain
• 38:50
Speaker 6: Association is here with this week's Adopt Me. Please put
• 38:52
Speaker 6: it the week don't get jb Acres is going to
• 38:55
Speaker 6: stop buy Doctor Casey Sacksviorbridge Valley is here too, and
• 38:58
Speaker 6: that is all coming up on tomorrow's show. Tex says, Dave,
• 39:03
Speaker 6: did you see state infrastructure report card? We're at rock
• 39:05
Speaker 6: bottom and Trump just stopped all the funds that Biden
• 39:08
Speaker 6: allocated for the state's infrastructure. We're going to talk about
• 39:11
Speaker 6: that again coming up on the show today. Tex says,
• 39:14
Speaker 6: if Christop Print believes in the Constitution, then he's not
• 39:17
Speaker 6: a Trump supporter because Trump does not believe in the Constitution.
• 39:21
Speaker 6: According to a texture but Dave Allen Show in five
• 39:24

• 39:34
Speaker 6: Be perfect for your gatherings over the next couple of weeks, Christmas, Sonica,
• 39:39
Speaker 6: New Years, so on, and so forth, just visiting folks.
• 39:42
Speaker 6: On Hustin's. Speaking of upcoming shows, I do want to
• 39:45
Speaker 6: mention this we are less than a week away now
• 39:49
Speaker 6: from our annual Jewish Christmas Spectacular with State Democratic Party
• 39:53
Speaker 6: Chair and Delegate Mike Pushkin and myself. The aim of
• 39:56
Speaker 6: Steel Band is going to be Stobby by the studio.
• 39:58
Speaker 6: And if you've never heard the show in the past,
• 40:01
Speaker 6: this is a day that I invite him, Pushkin, I
• 40:04
Speaker 6: tell him, bring your guitar, believe your politics at the door.
• 40:08
Speaker 6: We don't talk politics, we don't talk anything but just
• 40:11
Speaker 6: holiday season and Jewish Christmas, like being Jewish, of course,
• 40:17
Speaker 6: and we biled out some Christmas tunes. And this is
• 40:20
Speaker 6: the first time that we've had Amas Steel the Band
• 40:23
Speaker 6: on the show. I mean, in disrespect, they'll be making
• 40:25
Speaker 6: their debut on the Jewish Christmas Spectacular. We've had it.
• 40:28
Speaker 6: We had them on about I don't know a couple
• 40:30
Speaker 6: of weeks ago when they had their big album drop
• 40:32
Speaker 6: party out at Marty Gras. And look, I am a
• 40:36
Speaker 6: lover of music of all type. These guys absolutely blow
• 40:38
Speaker 6: me away. I mean they are fantastic. Especially it's the
• 40:42
Speaker 6: genre of music that I really like, which is kind
• 40:44
Speaker 6: of bluesy Southern rock, think Black Crows, that kind of stuff.
• 40:51
Speaker 6: I know they don't like to be compared to other people.
• 40:53
Speaker 6: But that's just to kind of give you the vibe.
• 40:55
Speaker 6: They're fantastic. We're gonna put him with Pushkin. Pushkin's gonna
• 40:58
Speaker 6: bring in another couple of his musician friends. We're just
• 41:01
Speaker 6: going to tell some stories, We're going to play some
• 41:03
Speaker 6: music and have a have a good old time. It's
• 41:06
Speaker 6: coming up on Christmas Eve morning nine six here on
• 41:10
Speaker 6: the Voice of Charleston WCCHS, so be sure and check
• 41:12
Speaker 6: that out. Rich Lindsay is sponsoring it as he does
• 41:15
Speaker 6: each year. Tony the Taylor, who is the quasi manager
• 41:18
Speaker 6: for Amos Steele, is going to join us in the studio,
• 41:20
Speaker 6: and I have put out the invitation to my frequent
• 41:24
Speaker 6: guest on the show to stop by. This may be
• 41:28
Speaker 6: the only radio show ever to get shut down by
• 41:30
Speaker 6: the fire Department. Worked at a few places that were
• 41:32
Speaker 6: shut down by the health department. That's actually a true story.
• 41:35
Speaker 6: I worked at a radio station that was literally shut
• 41:37
Speaker 6: down by the health department. That'll be that like Danny Jones,
• 41:40
Speaker 6: That'll be in my book someday. But my frequent guest
• 41:44
Speaker 6: of the show, everybody from Greg Thomas to elected officials
• 41:48
Speaker 6: to the mayors of the just just come hang out.
• 41:51
Speaker 6: The only requirement is though if you do come hang out,
• 41:55
Speaker 6: you do have to bring food for Ryan. Okay, that's
• 41:57
Speaker 6: the only thing that you have to do. That's the
• 41:59
Speaker 6: only requirement. So I have fun with that coming up
• 42:01
Speaker 6: on Christmas Eve morning, So hope you can join us
• 42:04
Speaker 6: for that. Tex says, I think conservatives believe cannabis turns
• 42:09
Speaker 6: people gay. Why else would they want to keep cannabis
• 42:12
Speaker 6: schedule the same alongside heroin and illicit fentanyl? I think,
• 42:17
Speaker 6: And I am not a proponent or an opponent of
• 42:20
Speaker 6: cannabis either way, it's it does. I see the economic
• 42:23
Speaker 6: impact of it and shake my head as to why
• 42:28
Speaker 6: it is categorized alongside as a text, Texter said heroin
• 42:32
Speaker 6: and fentanyl. I'm not a partaker myself. I have nothing
• 42:36
Speaker 6: against people that are. It's just not my thing. But
• 42:41
Speaker 6: I've said it's certainly worth taking a look at, and
• 42:43
Speaker 6: I mean a serious I'm talking about West Virginia right now.
• 42:46
Speaker 6: It is worth taking a serious, serious look at. And
• 42:50
Speaker 6: I have a tendency to be one that the older
• 42:53
Speaker 6: I get tends to be a little bit more libertarian
• 42:57
Speaker 6: in some of my views. I'm a registered independent, but
• 42:59
Speaker 6: I intend to be because if you ain't bothering me,
• 43:02
Speaker 6: I really don't care what you do. And the older
• 43:05
Speaker 6: I get, I become the old man shaking fist at
• 43:07
Speaker 6: cloud saying leave me alone. You go over there. I'll
• 43:12
Speaker 6: stay over here and you do your thing. Tex says,
• 43:14
Speaker 6: tired of social issues. You don't tell me how to live.
• 43:17
  Speaker 6: I won't tell you. It's a free country. The last
• 43:20
Speaker 6: time I checked, Bingo texture gets the text of the day.
• 43:24

Speaker 6: the president speech because I was actually home before it started.
• 47:44
Speaker 6: I just decided to go ahead and check out. It
• 47:46
Speaker 6: was a shorter speech for one I under I understand
• 47:50
Speaker 6: about seventeen eighteen minutes. I assumed it would be going
• 47:52
Speaker 6: for like ninety, you know, ninety minutes or long of it. It
• 47:55
Speaker 6: didn't a lot of yelling going on. I watched some
• 47:57
Speaker 6: of the highlights this morning. Some news did come out,
• 47:59
Speaker 6: yeah today that Dan Bongino is going to be leaving
• 48:02
Speaker 6: the FBI in January, and President Trump says it's because
• 48:06
Speaker 6: he's missing radio. And to Dan Bongino, I'd say well,
• 48:10
Speaker 6: you can't have the noon to three slot back because
• 48:11
Speaker 6: it's taken by me and Amanda Baron. So sorry, Dan,
• 48:15
Speaker 6: let's go to the phones. Let's talk to Nancy. You're
• 48:17
Speaker 6: on the air. Go ahead, good morning.
• 48:20
  Speaker 3: Good morning.
• 48:21
  Speaker 6: Yes.
• 48:22
Speaker 3: When Chris prit was on this morning announcing for the
• 48:25
Speaker 3: Senate in the seventeen, yes, ma'am, there are two seats
• 48:30
Speaker 3: open in the seventeenth and I wasn't clear which seat
• 48:35
Speaker 3: he is running for.
• 48:38
Speaker 6: That I am also not clear. That's a question that
• 48:40
Speaker 6: your host should have done a better job in asking.
• 48:42
Speaker 6: I apologize for that, and let I'll tell you what
• 48:43
Speaker 6: I'll do. I will reach out to Chris, he's probably listening,
• 48:47
Speaker 6: and I will get an answer and i'll have it
• 48:48
Speaker 6: for you tomorrow. How's that.
• 48:50
Speaker 3: I would appreciate that very much. That should have been clarified.
• 48:54
Speaker 6: Yes, and that's on me, that's on the host, one
• 48:56
Speaker 6: percent on me, and I own that myself. And Chris,
• 48:59
Speaker 6: if you're you got about three minutes to let me know.
• 49:02
Speaker 6: If not, I'll get an answer for you tomorrow, Nancy,
• 49:03
Speaker 6: And I apologize for that.
• 49:05
Speaker 3: All right, Thank you, sir.
• 49:07
Speaker 6: Thank you Nancy calling us up today. Appreciate that. Yeah,
• 49:10
Speaker 6: sometimes the host fumbles and should have asked that there
• 49:12
Speaker 6: are two seats available, so I don't know which one
• 49:15
Speaker 6: he's running for. So Chris Pritt, if you're listening right now,
• 49:18
Speaker 6: text me and I'll get an answer. If not, Nancy,
• 49:21
Speaker 6: I will promise you, I will leap right Ryan. Are
• 49:24
Speaker 6: you producing tomorrow? Who's producing tomorrow? Whoever's produced? Okay, remind
• 49:27
Speaker 6: me tomorrow first segment, even before we try to get
• 49:30
Speaker 6: the dog adopted. I'm going to find out that for Nancy. Okay,
• 49:33
Speaker 6: So try to remind me of that from this addled
• 49:35
Speaker 6: mind that I have. Brad mclahanny has a story posted
• 49:38
Speaker 6: this morning wv metronews dot com. A panel of US
• 49:42
Speaker 6: appeals judges entered in order allowing the National Guard members
• 49:46
Speaker 6: from states including West Virginia to remain in d C
• 49:49
Speaker 6: while the case is under review. Now. Yesterday's order by
• 49:53
Speaker 6: three judges on the Appeals Court for DC doesn't really
• 49:57
Speaker 6: represent a final outcome in case, but it does mean
• 50:01
Speaker 6: the appeals judges agree that Guard can remain on duty
• 50:07
Speaker 6: in DC for now. It's it's very long, it's very complicated.
• 50:11
Speaker 6: Brad doing Brad things as he always does, lays it
• 50:14
Speaker 6: out perfectly he's got links to the orders and the
• 50:16
Speaker 6: legales and so on and so forth over wv metronews
• 50:19
Speaker 6: dot com. And we are going to be joined by
• 50:21
Speaker 6: Brad during the two o'clock hour today on Metro News Midday,
• 50:24
Speaker 6: so he'll give us a little update about that Texas.
• 50:28
Speaker 6: Worst thing w Cochs could do would be to put
• 50:30
Speaker 6: the right wing propagandists who can't work a real job
• 50:33
Speaker 6: back on the radio. Well, I feel pretty confident that.
• 50:36
Speaker 6: I mean, I don't want to get ahead of my
• 50:38
Speaker 6: skis here, but I feel pretty confident that Dan Bongino
• 50:42
Speaker 6: will not be returning to Who's the thing about Bongino?
• 50:45
Speaker 6: I never understood politics aside. I listened to the show
• 50:49
Speaker 6: from time to time. I really wasn't a big fan,
• 50:52
Speaker 6: not necessarily because of his politics. I just didn't really
• 50:54
Speaker 6: like his style. And that's okay. If you listened, he
• 50:56
Speaker 6: probably didn't like my style either. But Bongino spent a
• 50:59
Speaker 6: whole lot of time time, and we can say this
• 51:01
Speaker 6: now that he's not on the air anymore, taking a big,
• 51:04
Speaker 6: old giant crap on Legacy Media. And the ironic thing
• 51:09
Speaker 6: about that is he did it while he was on
• 51:11
Speaker 6: Legacy Media, and he didn't respect. I will say this
• 51:16
Speaker 6: about Rush Limbaugh. You can say what you want to
• 51:18
Speaker 6: about Rush Limbaugh. Rush Limbaugh a saved AM radio. By
• 51:23
Speaker 6: I mean he saved it. And number two, he respected
• 51:27
Speaker 6: the medium. Rush Limbaugh came to talk radio after being
• 51:30
Speaker 6: a rock jock. A matter of fact, a former coworker
• 51:32
Speaker 6: of mine who was from Pittsburgh actually worked with Rush
• 51:35
Speaker 6: when his name was Jeff Christy and he was on
• 51:37
Speaker 6: the air in Pittsburgh. So I will say that about Rush.
• 51:42
Speaker 6: Rush did respect the medium of radio. Dan Bongino did
• 51:44
Speaker 6: not respect the medium of radio. He didn't respect anything,
• 51:49
Speaker 6: and he took to the airwaves basically just trashing the
• 51:54
Speaker 6: very airwaves and media that he was on, which was
• 51:58
Speaker 6: kind of an interesting flex for me. So I don't
• 52:02
Speaker 6: think I don't think you have anything to worry about.
• 52:04
Speaker 6: I may not be around, but I don't think you
• 52:06
Speaker 6: gotta worry about bunging Gene. Okay, this close with this
• 52:09
Speaker 6: the story of thievery that is coming out of Putnam
• 52:12
Speaker 6: County fascinating. Chris has it posted with pictures wv Metronews
• 52:15
Speaker 6: dot com. The Sheriff's Department. They're looking for a group
• 52:17
Speaker 6: of thieves with expensive taste, stealing crab legs, wines, steak,
• 52:22
Speaker 6: et cetera. Give them credit for having good taste. I
• 52:24
Speaker 6: guess they've hit up to Tayese Valley Kroger twice in
• 52:27
Speaker 6: recent days. If you head on over to the website
• 52:31
Speaker 6: wv Metronews dot com and also WCCHS Network dot com,
• 52:34
Speaker 6: we have got some pictures posted on there, and as
• 52:37
Speaker 6: I said, Putnam County share Bobby Egleton is going to
• 52:39
Speaker 6: join me on the show coming up but later today
• 52:42
Speaker 6: on Metro News Midday during the twelve o'clock hour. Thanks
