- 0:02Boy, Jeff Allen. Thanks listening to the slippery
- 0:05slope. so last week in Queensland we had reports on
- 0:10hate symbol laws being proposed here in Queensland, obviously
- 0:17Anastasia Palace, Shea She sees a something that will help.
- 0:23Give us some few extra extra votes.
- 0:26I want to read through these stories.
- 0:27I think it's B. I think it's actually lighting
- 0:32shining the path for where we're actually going to go through
- 0:36what the guardian says. They're all the stories are
- 0:38almost identical with it's the guardian or the ABC that just
- 0:42copy and pasted basically everything.
- 0:43So Nazi salute will be captured and proposed ban on hate
- 0:47symbols. The Queensland government says
- 0:50queenslanders queensland's attorney general has confirmed
- 0:54the Nazi salute. Will be captured under proposed
- 0:59laws, that ban hate symbols and strengthen the state's response
- 1:03vilification. So Shannon fenneman said she had
- 1:08been shocked by the presence of Nazis as an Anti Trans protest
- 1:12in Melbourne. Earlier this month I did speak
- 1:14about that like a pointed out it's funny that the police were
- 1:19able to able to stop transgender protesters but then Came to the
- 1:27Nazis supposed neo-nazis. They couldn't stop them from
- 1:32interfering with the protest. They couldn't stop them and all
- 1:35I could do was actually walk them past the supposed Auntie
- 1:39trans protest which is actually just I think it was women
- 1:45wanting to voice that want to have.
- 1:51Amplify their own voice and say how that they are not being
- 1:54allowed to speak in public. Their own voices, are being shut
- 1:58down. The whole thing is a bit weird.
- 2:01Anyway, these hateful and disgusting views must be
- 2:04condemned publicly and unequivocally.
- 2:06She told Parliament, fenneman said she expected someone
- 2:11performing a Nazi salute in public would be captured within
- 2:14you circumstances of aggravation in the legislation, in
- 2:18particular, there could be a strong.
- 2:20Encase. That a group of neo-nazis
- 2:22saluting on the steps of parliament, such as we saw in
- 2:26Melbourne, just a fortnight ago, would commit the offense.
- 2:29But of course, every prosecution will depend on the
- 2:33circumstances, the legislation introduced into Queensland
- 2:37Parliament Sardis. Last Wednesday will ensure that
- 2:40Those who commit crimes and motivated by prejudice against
- 2:43specified. Groups, will face tougher
- 2:46penalties, including longer custodial sentences?
- 2:49Existing His will be amended to provide for a new circumstance
- 2:53of aggravation, including for common assault, going armed.
- 2:57So as to cause fear threatening violence assault occasioning,
- 3:01bodily harm, willful damage, trespass, and public nuisance.
- 3:06The proposed laws will also modify the criminal code to
- 3:09introduce a prohibited symbols offense.
- 3:13This is where I think it gets a bit more interesting for Cormier
- 3:18conspiracist, I just think Parts like like what this is, modify
- 3:25the criminal code to prohibit a Pro 8, prohibited symbols
- 3:29offense, which will be in the display of hate symbols which
- 3:34includes including those tied to Nazism and the Islamic State I
- 3:41did a podcast, think it's a week ago, I didn't release it on
- 3:45YouTube because YouTube Just Basically, they just don't allow
- 3:51anything to do with my anything to do with religion or
- 3:55Christianity, the Bible. They just don't allow to go out.
- 3:59So I only release it on the other, the other platforms.
- 4:04However, my opinion is that it's in the very, very near future,
- 4:09the Bible and Christianity will end up being classified.
- 4:13Well, the Bible be will be classified as a source of hate
- 4:16speech and Jannetty will be banned.
- 4:22I think the ball will probably be banned in the very near
- 4:25future. But first off, you'll be
- 4:27classified as a source of hate speech and teaching hate because
- 4:33obviously the Bible You know, is is not put it this way.
- 4:41It's not pro rainbow. If you want to meet.
- 4:48So, I think it's, this is, this is possibly a way when it says
- 4:53introduced a prohibited symbols offense.
- 4:56I think this is possibly a way that they will eventually be
- 4:59able to sneak in including the Bible.
- 5:04Okay, so the new offense will Outlaw the public display public
- 5:07distribution or public or prohibited symbols in
- 5:10circumstances that might reasonably be expected to cause
- 5:15a member of the public to feel menaced harassed or offended.
- 5:20The government's hate symbol framework will include Nazi
- 5:23tattoos as revealed by Guardians.
- 5:25Try this month, the public distribution of publication of
- 5:28prohibited symbols online will also be prohibited.
- 5:32They would be an exemption for Hindus Buddhists and jains.
- 5:36John's and a player's head for whom swastika is a religious
- 5:39symbols. There will also be an exemption
- 5:42for when hate symbols were used for educational purposes.
- 5:47Sentiment said, the bill will also allow police to search a
- 5:50vehicle or vehicle without a warrant.
- 5:53If They reasonably suspect, the person has committed or is
- 5:58committing an offense. It's a very Broad.
- 6:06Very broad outline of their, you know, without they reasonably
- 6:13suspect, it's easy to draw to draw would be easy to back up.
- 6:18This reasonable suspicion of of displaying hate symbol.
- 6:26Anyway there's I don't know that's full of holes.
- 6:29It's I think it's I personally think we're giving our police
- 6:34way too much power. We seem to just be constantly
- 6:37handing a lot of it over definitely against these symbols
- 6:40of hate. However, as being someone who's
- 6:46been on the receiving end of plenty of hate in my life, you
- 6:52know, from from from childhood, I always took the stance that I
- 6:57got into a lot of fights when I was young kid because of racial
- 7:01slurs and things like this set against me to me, however, I say
- 7:08other than just getting into fisticuffs basically.
- 7:12And I wasn't any brilliant fighter when I was younger
- 7:14either, but other than that, I also also took the took the was
- 7:20obvious opinion that, you know, someone was wanting to go around
- 7:25using racial slurs to describe other people.
- 7:29Realistically, it's, you know, being being situations are
- 7:35Banning them for speaking or being them for, you know,
- 7:38outlawing. Their behavior is not really the
- 7:40way to go. I think it's it's
- 7:43Counterproductive, you can educate people.
- 7:47You can help them to see, that's maybe you're not the bad person,
- 7:53maybe just because you are a different race. different
- 7:59slightly, different culture, whatever doesn't you can Change
- 8:04their point of views by befriending people by helping to
- 8:07educate people. I don't think just being in
- 8:10people and being their views or or doing this bending.
- 8:15Symbols is the way to go. I think it takes us down a
- 8:19completely different path anyway.
- 8:21So, you know, and I definitely don't agree with this giving
- 8:24more police, police more Powers. Okay, goes on to say.
- 8:28So our awesome and honorable Premier and the Stasia Palace.
- 8:33Shea said there was no place in this community for hate crimes.
- 8:37Obviously, there's no as a community, we reject the use of
- 8:40hate symbols and acknowledge the impact.
- 8:42They have on society. And security of queenslanders,
- 8:46our government will help protect queenslanders from extreme jump
- 8:49Prejudice and hate the chief executive of Multicultural
- 8:53Australia, Christine, casely or costly.
- 8:57Have you say? It said she was pleased and
- 8:59relieved to see the introduction of the reforms.
- 9:03The laws will enhance the safety of every person and every
- 9:06community in Queensland. I don't think so.
- 9:10But anyway, especially for those culturally and linguistically
- 9:14diverse communities, who all too often face harassment.
- 9:18As they go about their lives in public spaces and places of
- 9:20worship. Now, this when she says, the
- 9:23laws will enhance the safety of every person and every community
- 9:26in Queensland, as we can all see is happening in Western Society.
- 9:33These when these these kinds of laws are put in place, they seem
- 9:37to only protect one side. As we can see some things that
- 9:43have happened in the states in the United States when one group
- 9:49might attack a another group, okay?
- 9:53That holds, let's say the cross as a as a symbol of their faith.
- 10:00Apparently, that's all fine. That is all great.
- 10:05And there is no REM occations and they're they're allowed to
- 10:08do that because those that groups have been held back and
- 10:11obviously you know religious groups that would hold the cross
- 10:15as a symbol of their faith or they're bad people.
- 10:18Anyway and they're Antiquated religion so I just don't think
- 10:23that is going to help every person.
- 10:26She goes on to say that I think it's very it's going to be very
- 10:29One-sided. So she says, Multicultural
- 10:33Australia was proud to have been a part of cohesive communities
- 10:36coalition. The legislation comes up to
- 10:42three men were charged with damage offenses.
- 10:45In January, when the Queensland government was yet to our board,
- 10:48the symbols of hate police said, one of the banners these contain
- 10:53a Nazi symbol and the words Hitler was right.
- 10:57Okay. So obviously you know me
- 11:00personally Anti-hitler anti-nazi, as I think everyone
- 11:09should be but I do thoroughly believe that education is the
- 11:13best way to defeat racism. And, you know, and it's better
- 11:22to have those thoughts out there in the public and be able to
- 11:26discuss them openly transparent. Transparency, is always better.
- 11:31We keeping everything closed off.
- 11:34Like I said, I think in the future Christianity will be
- 11:37banned when I say Christianity. I think Christianity where you
- 11:41believe the Bible Genesis through to Revelation that it is
- 11:47the inerrant word of God. If that's the kind of Christian
- 11:51you are, I think you're going to find yourself coming into some
- 11:55very hard times. Very quickly, I think
- 11:58Christianity will be banned. I think the Bible is soon going
- 12:02to be itself labeled as a source of hate speech and I think it's
- 12:08going to be banned. I think legislation like this
- 12:12will be the vehicle used to bring about that change.
- 12:20Let's don't think you get there by bringing in more laws and
- 12:23trying to control and force it down people's throats.
- 12:29That's just my opinion. I think we're on a different
- 12:32path. This is just Look over here,
- 12:35look at the good work we're doing.
- 12:36And then over on the other side, they're going to be slipping in
- 12:39things that people are not going to be happy with in lower.
- 12:43Hey, that's my opinion on my tan.
- 12:46Would this up on YouTube because it'll probably not get the light
- 12:50get to see the light of day anyway, but we'll see.
- 12:53So, anyway, so it'll definitely be up on the other platforms.
- 12:57Thanks for supporting me. And please let me know what you
- 13:01think Jay felon. Thanks for listening to the
- 13:04slippery slope. And please let me know what you
- 13:01think Jay felon. Thanks for listening to the
- 13:04slippery slope.
