- 1:28Speaker 4: Man, Well, thank you, thank you for being here.
- 1:30Speaker 2: You know we you know you've been longtime friend and
- 1:32Speaker 2: fan of the show, so I honestly cannot believe that
- 1:36Speaker 2: this is your first time here.
- 1:38Speaker 3: Me neither man, But you know it's bet we picked
- 1:41Speaker 3: a good time for it to have. You know, I
- 1:42Speaker 3: picked a great time for it to have.
- 1:44Speaker 2: For real, because today both Beans and I got to
- 1:47Speaker 2: see an early preview screening of Thunderbolts, the new Marvel
- 1:53Speaker 2: film directed by Jake Shearer. I think I'm pronouncing that name.
- 1:57Speaker 2: I'm probably butchering it like I do.
- 1:59Speaker 3: Sounds sounds right to me?
- 2:01Speaker 2: Man, Yeah, Jade Shearer, director of this joint. It's new
- 2:05Speaker 2: Marvel film. Out what is it?
- 2:06Speaker 3: May second?
- 2:08Speaker 2: May second? Okay, out May second. It's written by Eric
- 2:11Speaker 2: Hearson and Joanna callow Klo may be not sure, but yeah,
- 2:18Speaker 2: we got to see it today. Surprisingly, this is crazy,
- 2:21Speaker 2: just trying to let the internet to know. It was
- 2:23Speaker 2: like eight people in the theater.
- 2:25Speaker 3: I ain't know what's going on. You know what was
- 2:27Speaker 3: so crazy about that? They specifically told me no plus ones.
- 2:30Speaker 2: They straight up We're like, you cannot bring no one
- 2:34Speaker 2: with you. So I'm thinking I'm gonna walk in as pat.
- 2:37Speaker 2: And as I walk in, you know, right before I
- 2:38Speaker 2: turned the corner into the theater, I hear them mad
- 2:41Speaker 2: quiet in there, and I'm like, that sounds mad quiet
- 2:45Speaker 2: for you though, And I'm getting there ten minutes before
- 2:48Speaker 2: the dot starts. Nah, it was nothing but eight journalists
- 2:52Speaker 2: and there me and Beans is up in there peeping
- 2:54Speaker 2: the joint. We got to see it. This part of
- 2:57Speaker 2: this review will be no spoilers at all. We're not
- 3:00Speaker 2: going to give away anything that you haven't seen any
- 3:02Speaker 2: of the trailers. I myself stopped watching the trailers they
- 3:05Speaker 2: were given like mad shout away in the trailers, I
- 3:08Speaker 2: stopped watching them.
- 3:09Speaker 4: A while ago. Hopefully y'all have as well. Beans. What
- 3:12Speaker 4: did you think overall this joint?
- 3:16Speaker 3: Uh? I was shockingly surprised walking out how much I
- 3:22Speaker 3: really liked this movie. You know, I think we had
- 3:26Speaker 3: a conversation when really when I said that, I walked
- 3:28Speaker 3: maybe walking in with a very I don't want to
- 3:30Speaker 3: say low expectations, but I didn't go in it with
- 3:33Speaker 3: the highest expectation. I went in there with some with
- 3:37Speaker 3: a little bit of excitement for it, but it was
- 3:40Speaker 3: definitely like I remember walking into when I went to
- 3:42Speaker 3: see the First Avenger, and I had that level of
- 3:45Speaker 3: expectation like I don't know if this is gonna be
- 3:47Speaker 3: that good. I don't know if it's gonna be And
- 3:49Speaker 3: then I walked out pretty.
- 3:50Speaker 4: Much you know what.
- 3:50Speaker 3: I wasn't at that, But it's a little bit higher
- 3:53Speaker 3: than that, because then.
- 3:54Speaker 4: The first in Captain America America.
- 3:56Speaker 3: Yeah, Captain America first. It's a little bit higher than
- 3:58Speaker 3: that because I feel this movie really was something different
- 4:03Speaker 3: from Marvel Studios and how they really do their movies.
- 4:06Speaker 3: The tone of it and how it hit certain you
- 4:09Speaker 3: know everything, like from the comedy to the emotion. This
- 4:13Speaker 3: movie had a lot of emotions in it. Yes, it
- 4:18Speaker 3: definitely shocked me. Man. I feel like a lot of
- 4:20Speaker 3: people are having the same field or reaction to it,
- 4:23Speaker 3: like they didn't think it would be as good as
- 4:25Speaker 3: it is after watching it. So I'm definitely high on it.
- 4:29Speaker 3: I wouldn't mind seeing it again. That's why I wouldn't
- 4:33Speaker 3: mind seeing it again.
- 4:34Speaker 2: Yeah, I think I'm gonna get a chance to see
- 4:36Speaker 2: it again before it drops, and I'm actually excited to
- 4:38Speaker 2: see it again. I say the same thing that you did.
- 4:41Speaker 2: I mean when First Avengers dropped, I had no idea
- 4:45Speaker 2: about it.
- 4:45Speaker 4: I don't think I even saw that joint till it
- 4:47Speaker 4: was like on DVD. And I love it though.
- 4:49Speaker 2: It's like one of my favorite Marvel films, Like the
- 4:52Speaker 2: Captain American trilogy is impeccable to me, not so much
- 4:56Speaker 2: that last joint. But you know this, know this because
- 5:01Speaker 2: of that Captain America Felm and Marvel's recent string of
- 5:05Speaker 2: I mean, let's keep it real, like Doctor Strange. I've
- 5:09Speaker 2: never seen you know once I saw that joint once
- 5:12Speaker 2: in the theater. Was you know, it was cool. It's
- 5:14Speaker 2: hilarious and points, but not what you know, whatever Thor.
- 5:18Speaker 2: Love and Thunder is like, you know, my new standard
- 5:21Speaker 2: for like worst film ever, Like you know, so it's dark.
- 5:25Speaker 3: It's better than you didn't like it more than the
- 5:27Speaker 3: Dark World?
- 5:30Speaker 2: Wait, Lov and Thunder? Yeah, no, no, look dark World.
- 5:34Speaker 2: It's cool like when you rewatch The Dark World. It's
- 5:36Speaker 2: like whatever, Love and Thunder shows you what a bad
- 5:38Speaker 2: movie is, you know what I mean. That's like Dark
- 5:41Speaker 2: World is like, yeah, you know, Love and Thumb like
- 5:44Speaker 2: hold my beer for like the worst ever Thor movie? Fam,
- 5:48Speaker 2: No you not, y'all. Y'all don't know how we can
- 5:52Speaker 2: do it over here. Y'all don't know how bad it gets.
- 5:56Speaker 3: What t was just on the purest of Bolivian Yo.
- 6:00Speaker 2: Set the afore on the show allegedly, you know what
- 6:03Speaker 2: I mean, that's set with I don't even think of
- 6:05Speaker 2: just that man. That set had to be filled with
- 6:07Speaker 2: it the purest allegedly, but back to Thunderbolts, I myself like,
- 6:13Speaker 2: because of the aforementioned things, I walked in with you know,
- 6:17Speaker 2: meager expectations at best, and because I felt like they
- 6:22Speaker 2: were giving so much away in all the trailers. Again,
- 6:24Speaker 2: I was like, damn, you know, they can't be that
- 6:27Speaker 2: high on this movie. And then I knew that they
- 6:29Speaker 2: were like kind of positioning it as the end of.
- 6:33Speaker 4: Whatever phase there.
- 6:34Speaker 2: And I've lost track at this point, but I know
- 6:36Speaker 2: that this was like, you know, the Avengerance movie of
- 6:38Speaker 2: the summer and the Fantastic for It basically kicking off
- 6:41Speaker 2: the next phase. And so I was say, there's a
- 6:44Speaker 2: lot riding on this joint basically, and coming out I
- 6:48Speaker 2: felt the same as beings.
- 6:49Speaker 4: I really enjoyed it. I want to see it again.
- 6:52Speaker 2: I felt that it was a return to form, I'll say,
- 6:56Speaker 2: because it had a lot of the classic Marvel elms.
- 7:01Speaker 2: It felt to me in a form in a way
- 7:03Speaker 2: like the Guardians of the Galaxy, where it's a bunch
- 7:07Speaker 2: of you know, heroes that are second stringers at best,
- 7:12Speaker 2: and they all come together. They all got issues and problems,
- 7:16Speaker 2: but they all come together by the end to you know,
- 7:18Speaker 2: form a stronger unit together.
- 7:21Speaker 3: Right, I definitely felt like this was like, you know,
- 7:23Speaker 3: I didn't want to call him that, but this was
- 7:25Speaker 3: like the B team or the B characters, And you know,
- 7:28Speaker 3: I was very, like I said, I was just shocked
- 7:30Speaker 3: at how good they all worked together, and you know,
- 7:34Speaker 3: each one of them eight you know, everyone had their
- 7:36Speaker 3: moments and some of them some more than others. Like I,
- 7:40Speaker 3: I was very surprised with Wyatt Russell, very surprised. I
- 7:46Speaker 3: don't know, I don't like, I don't hate. I didn't
- 7:49Speaker 3: hate his character in the way search I really enjoyed it,
- 7:52Speaker 3: but I was surprised at how good he was, and
- 7:55Speaker 3: like really good, how much he shined. But I already said,
- 7:58Speaker 3: who my MVP was this movie? It was the Elena's
- 8:01Speaker 3: definitely my m v P. You know, she definitely, you know,
- 8:04Speaker 3: she's she's you know what since her introduction into the MCU,
- 8:08Speaker 3: she has been on point, like she has. You know,
- 8:11Speaker 3: I don't feel she's missed anything since she's been you know,
- 8:14Speaker 3: brought into even were her little cameos all were all great.
- 8:17Speaker 3: And she she's definitely you know, taking the place of
- 8:22Speaker 3: Natasha Romaninov, like we don't even remember anymore. It's fine,
- 8:25Speaker 3: we got a new one. No hate the scarlet, you know,
- 8:28Speaker 3: we all love hate. But you know, I think this
- 8:33Speaker 3: is you know, it was hard for you know, a
- 8:34Speaker 3: lot of fans to move on from the original Avengers
- 8:38Speaker 3: and think I think this movie kind of helps that
- 8:40Speaker 3: in a bit of a way. And you know, I
- 8:43Speaker 3: feel like it did a good job, better than a
- 8:46Speaker 3: lot of the other movies in the phase of actually
- 8:48Speaker 3: showing the bigger implications of what can happen in this
- 8:51Speaker 3: phase and what's coming in the future. I think this
- 8:54Speaker 3: movie really did a good job of that and presenting
- 8:57Speaker 3: other characters that are not Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr.
- 9:02Speaker 3: And Chris Hensworth and Mark Ruffalo, because that's the problem.
- 9:07Speaker 3: A lot of people don't want to move away from
- 9:09Speaker 3: those guys. They don't, you know, they can't see other
- 9:12Speaker 3: characters stepping in in these roles and having their own
- 9:15Speaker 3: feature length films. And you know, maybe, you know, to
- 9:18Speaker 3: some fault, that's the Marvel Studio's fault. But I also
- 9:21Speaker 3: thing is just them being a victim of their own success.
- 9:24Speaker 3: You know, they did their job so good that no
- 9:27Speaker 3: one ever wanted them to stop, you know, so and
- 9:30Speaker 3: the story has to continue. If you read the comic books,
- 9:32Speaker 3: these people come and go all the time. You know,
- 9:35Speaker 3: some people just didn't want to do like that. So
- 9:37Speaker 3: I feel this is like, to me, like one of
- 9:40Speaker 3: the few movies that felt comfortable outside of the norm
- 9:45Speaker 3: with the other characters and you know, and it just
- 9:49Speaker 3: it was a fresh take. It was fresh and like
- 9:52Speaker 3: you said, it did a good job of hitting those
- 9:54Speaker 3: classic notes while introduced some new stuff in there. You know.
- 9:57Speaker 3: So I was, like you said, very high on it
- 9:59Speaker 3: after left. I definitely want to see it again.
- 10:02Speaker 2: Yeah, And that's a good point, because that's one thing, like,
- 10:05Speaker 2: it's not one of these films to me, where you
- 10:07Speaker 2: were talking about how it shows you some of the
- 10:10Speaker 2: future of the Marvel universe. It's not a film where
- 10:12Speaker 2: you're like, Okay, let's just get to the end credit
- 10:14Speaker 2: scene and see what happens. More so to me, and
- 10:17Speaker 2: I think that's the point you are making, that it
- 10:19Speaker 2: shows the future of the Marvel universe, that the shows
- 10:21Speaker 2: the Marvel Universe that can exist without you know, the
- 10:25Speaker 2: stars that you just mentioned before, and like this is
- 10:28Speaker 2: a film where you're like, oh, okay, I can see
- 10:31Speaker 2: why Russell now, like I want to see why Russell
- 10:34Speaker 2: interact with other people in the MC because exactly one,
- 10:38Speaker 2: you're seeing most of these characters interact together for the
- 10:42Speaker 2: very first time, Like they were all in separate films
- 10:44Speaker 2: or separate series, and now this is the very first
- 10:46Speaker 2: time they interact. And like you said, they immediately you're like, okay, boom,
- 10:51Speaker 2: you know, this is like a new team, and I'm
- 10:53Speaker 2: fucking with them, you know, like right away, I'm feeling it.
- 10:57Speaker 2: And then, like you said, the emotion of this film,
- 11:00Speaker 2: while it does hit the you know a lot of
- 11:02Speaker 2: the same classic Marvel notes, Like I said, they really
- 11:06Speaker 2: go some places with some of the emotions in this
- 11:09Speaker 2: film and dealing with like things like depression, anxiety, you're
- 11:15Speaker 2: placing the world, what you're doing with your life, and
- 11:19Speaker 2: a lot of those things really hit well for me.
- 11:21Speaker 2: Like I was a big White Russell fan and John
- 11:25Speaker 2: Walker fan. John walked it out over here from you know,
- 11:29Speaker 2: Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
- 11:30Speaker 4: I defended that man to the death.
- 11:32Speaker 2: But I really, like you said, loved him in this
- 11:35Speaker 2: movie and you loved where they took his character.
- 11:38Speaker 3: Right, you give a damn about them, Like it's like
- 11:40Speaker 3: it's like their backstory or not backstory, but like those
- 11:45Speaker 3: other stories outside of like what's happening in real time
- 11:48Speaker 3: with them. When you see what they were dealing with
- 11:51Speaker 3: as far as how they're dealing with every day to
- 11:53Speaker 3: day shit, you know, it's you care, you know, like
- 11:58Speaker 3: seeing seeing things like seeing out Elena's responding to doing
- 12:02Speaker 3: these jobs all the time, and how she feels and
- 12:05Speaker 3: the relationship with her father and all that stuff. You
- 12:07Speaker 3: actually care about these things, And I was that's one
- 12:11Speaker 3: of the really high points with me as far as
- 12:13Speaker 3: the film was like actually not just wanting to see
- 12:15Speaker 3: them doing hero stuff, seeing them actually being people, even
- 12:20Speaker 3: even though they have been terrible people throughout their time
- 12:22Speaker 3: in MCU, Seeing them actually feel a way about being
- 12:26Speaker 3: terrible people and wanted to actually redeem themselves is as
- 12:31Speaker 3: a high point for me because you know, they we've
- 12:33Speaker 3: had this kind of movie before. You know, I don't
- 12:36Speaker 3: want you know what suit the first suicide Squad. They
- 12:38Speaker 3: didn't give you any reason to care about them redeeming themselves.
- 12:41Speaker 3: They were just doing things to do things, you know.
- 12:44Speaker 3: So it was it was from jail to fighting dark
- 12:49Speaker 3: things that you could even see in the movie. You
- 12:51Speaker 3: don't care about care about this, You actually care.
- 12:58Speaker 4: It's all him. What's my man?
- 13:02Speaker 3: Yo?
- 13:02Speaker 4: We deserve way better than this, but we hear for it,
- 13:06Speaker 4: you know.
- 13:07Speaker 3: Fucking you know, I feel like to see to see
- 13:11Speaker 3: Marvel knock this kind of movie, you know, this kind
- 13:14Speaker 3: of storyline when turning up of villains into heroes out
- 13:19Speaker 3: of the park for the first go around. It's a
- 13:22Speaker 3: really good thing to see. And they don't have to
- 13:23Speaker 3: do a redo, you know what I'm saying. This is
- 13:25Speaker 3: a really good thing for them to have coming out
- 13:28Speaker 3: the gate and trying to correct course with its phase
- 13:32Speaker 3: because I know this phase was a jumble mess, you know,
- 13:34Speaker 3: but they're trying to do I feel, I feel they're
- 13:38Speaker 3: really getting back in their groove right now. They have
- 13:41Speaker 3: a lot of momentum on their side. That's just say.
- 13:44Speaker 4: They definitely do.
- 13:44Speaker 2: And that's the thing and I always look, well, not always,
- 13:48Speaker 2: but recently I remember I read this quote.
- 13:49Speaker 4: It was when Matthew was talking about it.
- 13:53Speaker 2: He said when he was on set with Faie on
- 13:55Speaker 2: End Game, and he was like, you know, what's gonna
- 13:57Speaker 2: take forever for us to get past this and for
- 14:00Speaker 2: the audience to get past this, because this is so
- 14:03Speaker 2: monumental and so great that you know, it's just like
- 14:06Speaker 2: nothing ever compared to every film since It's like, was
- 14:09Speaker 2: not as good as in Game in Infinity War, and
- 14:11Speaker 2: it's like, of course it's not that, but you know,
- 14:14Speaker 2: time they have been missing, you know, you know this
- 14:19Speaker 2: was kind of a mess. But this was, like you said,
- 14:22Speaker 2: it just was the first time where you've seen all
- 14:24Speaker 2: these different characters that honestly, I wasn't sure if they would.
- 14:28Speaker 4: Be able to carry the movie together.
- 14:30Speaker 2: You know, I'm like ghostand you know, take Captain America
- 14:35Speaker 2: and new Black Widow and washed up Bucky and you
- 14:39Speaker 2: know this and Red Guardian washed up like this is
- 14:42Speaker 2: your team, this is the Thunderbolts, and like I guess,
- 14:47Speaker 2: but it really worked out.
- 14:49Speaker 3: Yeah, they all had, you know, for like, Ghosts was
- 14:52Speaker 3: more of a redeeming movie for her.
- 14:53Speaker 4: I love Ghosts.
- 14:55Speaker 3: So you know, like we didn't I feel we we
- 14:57Speaker 3: didn't really get to see what she's fully capable of,
- 15:00Speaker 3: you know, and that act Man movie wasn't terrible, no,
- 15:03Speaker 3: you know, but we just didn't really get to see
- 15:06Speaker 3: as far as what her character should be or how
- 15:08Speaker 3: she should operate.
- 15:09Speaker 2: You know, wait, what was the third end man? What
- 15:13Speaker 2: was the last, oh see once again, Like, look, we
- 15:18Speaker 2: always you know we we You never know how good
- 15:21Speaker 2: you have it, you know, because when Qualtimania came out,
- 15:24Speaker 2: that showed you, Yo, that second hand Man movie was
- 15:27Speaker 2: was that bad?
- 15:29Speaker 3: You know? I talked, but I tell you that all
- 15:32Speaker 3: the time. Man, I'm about to age myself a little bit, yo,
- 15:36Speaker 3: But I was like I told you all the time,
- 15:37Speaker 3: Like you could get on here and call these movies
- 15:40Speaker 3: trash all you want or whatever, but like you have
- 15:43Speaker 3: to understand what I had to grow up with watching
- 15:46Speaker 3: as a kid. As far as I remember watching that
- 15:48Speaker 3: nineteen ninety Captain American movie, Oh, I've.
- 15:52Speaker 4: Never even seen it because I knew how it was.
- 15:54Speaker 3: I used to play on Channel eleven all the day time.
- 15:58Speaker 2: It was so bad, so bad clips of it.
- 16:03Speaker 3: It was god awful, you know. I remember my grandfather
- 16:07Speaker 3: used to rent video cassette tapes of this Spider Man movie.
- 16:10Speaker 3: Spider Man was like on a bike, a motor bike.
- 16:12Speaker 4: I know that I've never seen that.
- 16:14Speaker 3: I'm like, and I go back, I'm like, you guys
- 16:16Speaker 3: really don't know how good you have it. Like this
- 16:18Speaker 3: is to say like these movies are bad, It's terrible.
- 16:21Speaker 3: I'm like, you know what, it ain't really as bad
- 16:23Speaker 3: as you think you are. They're not great, but you
- 16:26Speaker 3: got to get some top so comic stuff right now,
- 16:30Speaker 3: you understand.
- 16:31Speaker 4: Like no Love and Thunder.
- 16:32Speaker 2: You know, accept it, I'll say, because like that was bad.
- 16:36Speaker 2: They were, Yeah, that was they were just even Cato
- 16:39Speaker 2: Mania has majors, you know, eating up the screens came.
- 16:41Speaker 2: You know, I'll still take that over, you know, that
- 16:44Speaker 2: Captain American movie any day.
- 16:46Speaker 3: Yeah, you know what, I think that. You know, I
- 16:48Speaker 3: don't like to hark on Love and Thunner, but I
- 16:50Speaker 3: just think that, you know, they went too far with
- 16:53Speaker 3: the humor, way too far. You know, I get like
- 16:57Speaker 3: humors what made uh you know hum with me mar
- 17:03Speaker 3: but it kind of brought Thor into like more popular
- 17:07Speaker 3: things with the which Thor I can't even think the movie,
- 17:10Speaker 3: but like Drag and Rock, because the humor in it
- 17:14Speaker 3: elevated that movie. You know, there was serious tonely, but
- 17:16Speaker 3: the humor like you wasn't expecting it, and it took
- 17:19Speaker 3: his character from like that boring serious door. Oh I
- 17:23Speaker 3: could like this story, he's the lower guy whatever. It
- 17:25Speaker 3: took it to another and he said, all right, let's
- 17:27Speaker 3: ratchet it up the next movie and let's have screaming goats.
- 17:34Speaker 3: Chris Chris Hens were nude, my god playing Zeus.
- 17:38Speaker 2: Like, let's then let's said about that the better.
- 17:44Speaker 4: Like we said, that was a new standard of low.
- 17:47Speaker 2: And while I want to say this is a new
- 17:48Speaker 2: standard of excellence, it is, like I said before, a
- 17:51Speaker 2: good return to form from Marvel. We already talked about.
- 17:56Speaker 2: Florence Peugh as Elena did a great, you know, fantastic job.
- 17:59Speaker 2: She's really we talked about how what's his name, Charlie
- 18:03Speaker 2: Cox is like the street you know, lynch pin of
- 18:06Speaker 2: Marvel now and in film it seems to be, you know,
- 18:12Speaker 2: Lena is one of the ones that Marvel can hold,
- 18:15Speaker 2: you know, they're like, okay, we can pin franchises around
- 18:19Speaker 2: this woman, you know, and I think her and then
- 18:23Speaker 2: my shorty for miss Marvel, you know, it's another one.
- 18:27Speaker 2: But Elaina really showed that she can carry and lead,
- 18:32Speaker 2: you know, a team and a universe in this film. Yeah,
- 18:36Speaker 2: so that was very great. Yeah. Lewis Pullman, who plays Bob,
- 18:44Speaker 2: I got, I really, you know, fuck with Louis, Like,
- 18:49Speaker 2: you know, I don't know if I've seen him anything
- 18:51Speaker 2: before this, but my man you know, does the great
- 18:54Speaker 2: job is Bob. I don't know how much of that
- 18:58Speaker 2: is revealed in the trailers and shit, so I won't
- 19:00Speaker 2: say too much more about who Bob is. You know,
- 19:04Speaker 2: people who know they know, but you know, we'll get
- 19:06Speaker 2: into that in the more spoiler review. But you know,
- 19:09Speaker 2: Louis did do a great job as Bob. You know
- 19:12Speaker 2: Sebastians staying as Bucky. I mean, come on, man, come.
- 19:15Speaker 3: On, yeah, he he just loves you can tell he
- 19:17Speaker 3: loves playing that role. Yeah, he loves it. And this
- 19:21Speaker 3: is the Bucky that I don't want to say. We
- 19:24Speaker 3: we haven't. We don't really get to see this Bucky
- 19:26Speaker 3: that much, but we missed this bucket, This Bucky that's
- 19:28Speaker 3: just a straight up badass. Yes, you know, just rolling up,
- 19:32Speaker 3: you know, just with just all this was just the
- 19:36Speaker 3: arm slap nag and everyone's like, oh damn BUCkies here,
- 19:40Speaker 3: you know what I'm saying like that, Yes, the Winter's Soldier,
- 19:46Speaker 3: Like I got the chills again seeing him do his thing.
- 19:50Speaker 3: And even though he was he's not the Winter Soldier
- 19:53Speaker 3: that's just anymore. It's just he's just still a badass man.
- 19:56Speaker 3: He just and he doesn't have to really say much,
- 19:59Speaker 3: you know, just just walking and seeing just you know,
- 20:02Speaker 3: do Bucky shit man just sit.
- 20:04Speaker 2: And he just like it's just one of those things
- 20:06Speaker 2: where it's like we talked about with Data But like
- 20:08Speaker 2: I don't think Born Again is the best season of anything,
- 20:12Speaker 2: but Charlie Cox and Vincent are just so fantastic and
- 20:15Speaker 2: pretty much all those people are so good at the
- 20:17Speaker 2: roles I want them in anything, Like Bucky's the same, Like,
- 20:20Speaker 2: you know, I think this is a great movie. Bucky
- 20:22Speaker 2: is one of the reasons why, because you know, Sebastian
- 20:25Speaker 2: is so good at playing the role and just inhabits
- 20:28Speaker 2: it so well that I'm just interested in seeing him
- 20:30Speaker 2: whenever he's on screen.
- 20:33Speaker 4: I want to give a David.
- 20:34Speaker 2: Harborough Harboro Harbor of course, or Harbor as Alexi the
- 20:40Speaker 2: Red Guardian, you know, fantastic as well. But I want
- 20:43Speaker 2: to give a quick shout out to Geraldine viz A
- 20:47Speaker 2: Wanna than I'm proba Vizjana than Vizjana than. I'm hopefully
- 20:52Speaker 2: not butchering your name too much, Geraldine, but they played
- 20:56Speaker 2: the character mel who is uh. I don't want to
- 21:01Speaker 2: miss the the Defontaine right. Valentina Valentina Defontaine Defontaine, don't
- 21:10Speaker 2: get Defontaine.
- 21:13Speaker 4: Great joke there in the film.
- 21:15Speaker 2: But Geraldine plays her assistant. And Geraldine was you might
- 21:22Speaker 2: know her from this film Blockers, which I loved.
- 21:24Speaker 4: She was one of the daughters and Blockers and she
- 21:27Speaker 4: kills it.
- 21:28Speaker 2: I hope she returns to the MCU because I thought
- 21:31Speaker 2: she was fantastic. I mean, she was great in Blockers
- 21:33Speaker 2: and really great in this as Mel's assistant or male
- 21:37Speaker 2: Mal as Valentina's assistant. And that's another one. You know, Julia,
- 21:42Speaker 2: you know, miss Dreyfus, like yo, she is a worthy
- 21:48Speaker 2: replacement for like that Nit Fury role in the MCU,
- 21:53Speaker 2: and I really want to see her and Nick go
- 21:55Speaker 2: head to head, you know, at some point in the future,
- 21:59Speaker 2: because she's too dope and this she's like the evil
- 22:03Speaker 2: knit Fury basically, like you know, the negative zone Knit
- 22:06Speaker 2: Fury up in here, and it's just it's I don't
- 22:09Speaker 2: know if I mean, she's in deep, she's you know,
- 22:12Speaker 2: somewhat of a villain, but this is much more of
- 22:15Speaker 2: a villain role for her, and I really love to
- 22:17Speaker 2: see it. Yeah, anti hero, I guess.
- 22:21Speaker 3: Yeah, she she she delivers that role perfectly. I think
- 22:25Speaker 3: the fact that, you know, the way she just carries herself,
- 22:28Speaker 3: you know, like she doesn't really care about what you think,
- 22:31Speaker 3: you know, all the way, even from when she first
- 22:33Speaker 3: popped up in Wakanda forever, like just certain just saying
- 22:37Speaker 3: certain things like you know, it's just she's just so
- 22:40Speaker 3: good at it, you know, just just the little subtle
- 22:43Speaker 3: jabs she throws at everybody, the way she makes everyone
- 22:46Speaker 3: feel instantly, she's in a room full of superheroes and
- 22:48Speaker 3: you couldn't tell of super villains because you couldn't tell,
- 22:51Speaker 3: but she made it seem like she's the biggest villain
- 22:52Speaker 3: in the room each and every time. So it's just
- 22:55Speaker 3: like you know, just seeing her and you know, people
- 22:58Speaker 3: some people knock her character was corny whatever like that.
- 23:01Speaker 3: I think I think she's pretty good. I see some
- 23:03Speaker 3: people hating on her role in certain films and stuff
- 23:07Speaker 3: like that, but I think she's actually perfect. Like you said,
- 23:09Speaker 3: she plays a perfect anti Nick Fury, you know she
- 23:13Speaker 3: you know, to her, there is there was an idea,
- 23:16Speaker 3: you know, so it makes all sense how they're doing
- 23:19Speaker 3: this backwards, you know, but just you know, it just
- 23:22Speaker 3: makes all sense, and it's just the way it's playing out,
- 23:24Speaker 3: and I feel like, you know, we didn't give it
- 23:26Speaker 3: enough time to play off. I feel once people feel
- 23:29Speaker 3: more rewarded for her character once they watched this movie.
- 23:32Speaker 4: There you go.
- 23:32Speaker 2: That's what I was gonna say, Like, I think if
- 23:34Speaker 2: those people who were knocking it, I think this one
- 23:37Speaker 2: might bring him around, because it's like, you got to
- 23:39Speaker 2: give her a chance. It's just like with Nick Fury,
- 23:41Speaker 2: like I mean Samuel Jackson and Samuel Jackson, but we
- 23:45Speaker 2: didn't have much of him until the Avengers film, you know, right,
- 23:48Speaker 2: We had like a couple of clips and then it
- 23:51Speaker 2: was the Avengers and then the Avengers like, Okay, he's
- 23:53Speaker 2: a great nit Fury And this the Thunderbolts is her
- 23:56Speaker 2: chance to you know, have that time to shine, and
- 23:59Speaker 2: I think she does fantastic job with it.
- 24:02Speaker 4: I was crying, and like you said, she still seems
- 24:05Speaker 4: to be the biggest feeling, the biggest a hole in
- 24:08Speaker 4: a room full of a holes.
- 24:10Speaker 2: And that's something else I loved about this is how
- 24:12Speaker 2: all the characters know that they're, you know, not the best,
- 24:17Speaker 2: and they're all they're all order and they all feel
- 24:20Speaker 2: in ways, well not all of them, but some of
- 24:23Speaker 2: them have that weight of being replacements, you know, and
- 24:26Speaker 2: they know it, and they know that, like not only
- 24:29Speaker 2: in the metaway that the audience is looking at them,
- 24:32Speaker 2: but the audience in universe is also looking at them.
- 24:37Speaker 4: Like they addressed, you.
- 24:38Speaker 2: Know, the idea that my man was only Captain America
- 24:41Speaker 2: for you know, two minutes.
- 24:43Speaker 3: Great great, great value cat man, you know, great value
- 24:48Speaker 3: cat they had. They had the contant reminding that y'all like, damn,
- 24:52Speaker 3: y'all so mean.
- 24:53Speaker 2: Man, so mean, so mean to my man John Walker
- 24:57Speaker 2: bru like to disuspect my man in durance throughout this.
- 25:03Speaker 3: They wasn't laying up on heavy time or something like
- 25:05Speaker 3: what the helmet masket.
- 25:09Speaker 2: Just every day And I'm like, yo, come on, fam, like,
- 25:14Speaker 2: what's a respect on this man's name?
- 25:16Speaker 4: None at all at all.
- 25:20Speaker 2: I do want to shout out the action in the
- 25:22Speaker 2: film because I thought it was really well done from
- 25:24Speaker 2: the game, yes, because that's something recently I've been you know,
- 25:28Speaker 2: It's like I walk into a movie and maybe ten
- 25:30Speaker 2: minutes and I'm like, ah, this ain't gonna be right,
- 25:32Speaker 2: you know, And ten minutes in I was like, Okay,
- 25:35Speaker 2: I can't wait to see the rest of this film,
- 25:37Speaker 2: especially you know, they have a great opening with Jolena,
- 25:41Speaker 2: and I'm like, okay, there's some ill shots.
- 25:44Speaker 4: You know, everything's really well done. And just like I said,
- 25:47Speaker 4: even though the.
- 25:51Speaker 2: Not scripting, but just the general tone, it's kind of
- 25:54Speaker 2: something you've seen from Marvel before.
- 25:56Speaker 4: I will say.
- 25:56Speaker 2: It didn't look exactly like everything you've seen Marvel before.
- 26:00Speaker 2: It felt like its own thing.
- 26:02Speaker 3: It felt like it kind of reminded me a little
- 26:05Speaker 3: bit of the actual sequences and Winter Soldier a little bit.
- 26:09Speaker 3: You know, very very knife play, hand to hand stuff.
- 26:14Speaker 3: You know, it was tight, it was shot well. It
- 26:16Speaker 3: didn't look slow. There was like you know, in the
- 26:19Speaker 3: last week there was some fight season that looked like
- 26:20Speaker 3: oh Jesus man, you know, are they pulling punches here?
- 26:28Speaker 3: Like you know, but like this looked really good, Like
- 26:32Speaker 3: they're really good. There was like a moment and it
- 26:35Speaker 3: felt like a Daredevil scene. There was one more it
- 26:37Speaker 3: felt like this is good.
- 26:40Speaker 4: Yeah, this is good. Yeah.
- 26:42Speaker 1: You know.
- 26:43Speaker 3: It was very well shot and the choreography was very
- 26:46Speaker 3: well done. And like I said, like seeing them in
- 26:50Speaker 3: actually together, they're a moment, seeing them working together or
- 26:53Speaker 3: fighting each other, it's just like, okay, wow, like these
- 26:56Speaker 3: guys get Disney man like, they're not. You know, we
- 26:59Speaker 3: may think like be characters, but they got some stuff.
- 27:03Speaker 3: Man Like. You know, we're so used to just seeing
- 27:05Speaker 3: the main people getting getting things off, and now they're
- 27:08Speaker 3: like no, no, no, man like, these guys know what
- 27:11Speaker 3: they're doing, you know, these especially Elena. You know, we
- 27:15Speaker 3: know what Jolena could do. We always knew, but like
- 27:17Speaker 3: seeing you know, John Walker and Ghosts finally get Ghosts,
- 27:22Speaker 3: finally getting to show off her skills in a much
- 27:25Speaker 3: better light than she what shes doing in uh man
- 27:27Speaker 3: in the watch again, no, not to that movie, but
- 27:30Speaker 3: we didn't really get to see her really using her abilities.
- 27:34Speaker 3: And now seeing her like really mastering and phasing in
- 27:38Speaker 3: and out and like it looked great. Man, I can't
- 27:41Speaker 3: knock it. I can. I was very impressive with her.
- 27:44Speaker 3: She wished how she used her stuff.
- 27:46Speaker 2: I need that new Marvel Legends figure of Ghosts. You know,
- 27:49Speaker 2: That's how much I liked hearing this and her new outfit.
- 27:52Speaker 2: Everything about it was fire like, ghosts look great.
- 27:55Speaker 3: She looked great.
- 27:56Speaker 4: Yeah, shout out to that.
- 27:58Speaker 2: After all that is is Hannah John Cammon, who I
- 28:03Speaker 2: loved during a Man in the Walls or loved them,
- 28:05Speaker 2: but I thought that they did it even better job
- 28:08Speaker 2: as you know this, I thought that everyone It's just
- 28:11Speaker 2: this film gave all these characters a lot more time
- 28:14Speaker 2: to shine than they've had before in these other series
- 28:18Speaker 2: because they were either the villains or they were a
- 28:21Speaker 2: side character and in this sort of protagonists and heroes,
- 28:23Speaker 2: so their heroes in a sort and I thought it
- 28:27Speaker 2: worked out to their advantage.
- 28:29Speaker 3: Right, Like, you know, this movie's all about redemption, and
- 28:31Speaker 3: again this movie was their redeeming for all these characters,
- 28:35Speaker 3: for them, you know, having to not you know, have
- 28:39Speaker 3: to take a side backseat to other characters, but it
- 28:42Speaker 3: was redeeming for them in the sense that they didn't
- 28:44Speaker 3: really get to shine and they need those projects the
- 28:46Speaker 3: way they should have. You know what I'm saying because Marvel,
- 28:48Speaker 3: you know, the knock on Marvel is they always have
- 28:51Speaker 3: a villain problem. You know, that's always a knocking a
- 28:53Speaker 3: Marvel movie or a Marvel show, Like everything is fine,
- 28:57Speaker 3: but sometimes the villains really don't do what they're supposed
- 28:59Speaker 3: to do.
- 29:00Speaker 4: You know.
- 29:00Speaker 3: There's only like a handful of villains that like really
- 29:03Speaker 3: like go all out and make the movie or whatever
- 29:06Speaker 3: like that. And sometimes for the most part, those guys.
- 29:09Speaker 3: You know, maybe John John Logan had his moments in
- 29:12Speaker 3: the moments, you know, you can't say he didn't have
- 29:16Speaker 3: his moments, and he had his moments.
- 29:18Speaker 4: But Lena has her time too.
- 29:20Speaker 3: She's had plenty and yeah, and she's had numerous times,
- 29:23Speaker 3: but she's never really missed though. She's never really been
- 29:25Speaker 3: like a big complaint. But like the other ones, for
- 29:28Speaker 3: the most part, were like, Okay, yeah, I need I
- 29:32Speaker 3: need to see more. And I think this is the
- 29:34Speaker 3: more that everybody's been hoping to see with them. And
- 29:37Speaker 3: now that this is what really uh brings ingratiates them
- 29:42Speaker 3: in the Marvel universe. This is what I think this
- 29:44Speaker 3: movie is what's really going to cement their place in it.
- 29:47Speaker 3: You know, they're not no longer just throw away characters anymore.
- 29:51Speaker 3: They are They are important now, yes, and that's I
- 29:54Speaker 3: think this what this movie did. They did, this movie
- 29:56Speaker 3: did a fantastic job of making them matter. You know,
- 30:00Speaker 3: they're not just people pulling Fike, He's pulling out of
- 30:03Speaker 3: the comic book Chess, you know, just throwing the movies.
- 30:05Speaker 3: These people actually mad at that.
- 30:07Speaker 4: Mm hmm No, And like we said, I think that's
- 30:11Speaker 4: a big thing.
- 30:11Speaker 3: Got it.
- 30:12Speaker 2: Coming out of this film is that I want to
- 30:14Speaker 2: see them interact with the other, you know, characters like
- 30:18Speaker 2: you know, definitely I need to see because I really
- 30:21Speaker 2: liked how Walker and Bucky you know, interacted in this
- 30:25Speaker 2: because they've had a history together, you know, and so
- 30:28Speaker 2: I want to see him now that he's proven himself
- 30:30Speaker 2: to Bucky. I want to see him talk to Sam again,
- 30:33Speaker 2: you know. And then I want to see how Captain
- 30:36Speaker 2: Marvel views all these characters, you know, how Shane she
- 30:39Speaker 2: you know, all of them start coming together. So, yeah,
- 30:43Speaker 2: this is something that I think people are going to
- 30:46Speaker 2: walk out of it at the very least pleasantly surprised.
- 30:48Speaker 2: And if you're anticipating a good movie, then you got one.
- 30:52Speaker 2: He got one. Yeah, this is now Like you know,
- 30:55Speaker 2: we've had Sinners, which to me really kicked off.
- 30:59Speaker 4: It was so funny.
- 31:00Speaker 2: Before I saw Sinats, I was like, yo, man, it's
- 31:02Speaker 2: been bad movie season, and I need Sinners to be
- 31:05Speaker 2: good to kick this summer off, right, you know what
- 31:08Speaker 2: I mean? And Sinners came out and just absolutely blew
- 31:11Speaker 2: me away. People are if you would that probably do
- 31:14Speaker 2: some more on that very soon. And now you know,
- 31:18Speaker 2: I was more so looking to Fantastic Four, but Thunderbolts
- 31:22Speaker 2: and I'm like, Okay, now I'm really looking the Fantastic
- 31:26Speaker 2: Four because Thunderbolts was dope.
- 31:28Speaker 3: Yeah, this is this is not just a placeholder.
- 31:30Speaker 4: No, this is this is this.
- 31:32Speaker 3: Is an actual good movie that's gonna take you to
- 31:35Speaker 3: the next one. You know what I'm saying. It's not
- 31:37Speaker 3: if you think for Captain America, Baby World was just
- 31:41Speaker 3: a placeholder, that's that's fine. This is not. This is
- 31:45Speaker 3: this is a legit good movie that actually is And
- 31:50Speaker 3: like you said, it really harkens back to what we
- 31:53Speaker 3: were getting with the End Games and then and then
- 31:55Speaker 3: If thirty Infinity Saga, you know, movies that actually mattered
- 32:00Speaker 3: and made you really excited for what's next to come,
- 32:03Speaker 3: you know, like you just can't wait for the next
- 32:05Speaker 3: project and.
- 32:07Speaker 2: To see them again. That's what it is like to
- 32:09Speaker 2: see the characters again, because it's like these last few.
- 32:12Speaker 4: Have not been like that where I'm like, even shann't
- 32:14Speaker 4: she I can't.
- 32:14Speaker 2: Like I enjoyed it, But it's not like where I'm like, oh,
- 32:16Speaker 2: I can't wait to see him again. You know, I'm
- 32:19Speaker 2: like maybe, you know, we'll see how it works out.
- 32:21Speaker 2: You know, they do a dope next one and then
- 32:22Speaker 2: you know, bring him into the Avengers, right, you know,
- 32:24Speaker 2: we'll get it. Okay, But this, I'm like, okay, everybody
- 32:27Speaker 2: in this I need to see them, you know, in
- 32:29Speaker 2: the next joint, like Dom say, they got to be
- 32:32Speaker 2: in it. I think they now most of the most
- 32:35Speaker 2: of them. Yeah, sweet, sweet sweet, because I need it.
- 32:41Speaker 2: Any last thoughts before we get into our spoiler portion
- 32:44Speaker 2: of this review.
- 32:47Speaker 3: Not just that again this You know, I I was
- 32:52Speaker 3: looking forward to watching this movie, you know, just because
- 32:55Speaker 3: because after like maybe one or two chairs, I was like,
- 32:57Speaker 3: all right, I'm on board. You know, I'm invested. But
- 33:00Speaker 3: you know, I didn't really like again, I didn't realize that,
- 33:03Speaker 3: you know, they put their foot in this movie like this,
- 33:07Speaker 3: like you know what. I was like, Yo, it has
- 33:09Speaker 3: the sauce. It has the sauce that made you know,
- 33:12Speaker 3: people love Marvel movies. You know, it has all of that.
- 33:15Speaker 3: So I'm again, it's just a fantastic movie. I think.
- 33:18Speaker 3: I hope it does well. I really do, you know,
- 33:21Speaker 3: because then we're just gonna be hearing stories of you know,
- 33:24Speaker 3: fatigue and all this stuff, and.
- 33:27Speaker 4: I don't I think it's trying to do well.
- 33:29Speaker 2: Because they like one day put the money behind it,
- 33:32Speaker 2: you know, just like with centers where they put the
- 33:34Speaker 2: money behind it. So people are gonna go see it
