Latest / NY's Sports Loud Mouth (VIDEO) / UFC 317 recap: Is Ilia Topuria the best fighter?
Transcript
- 0:00He's got another story, but Major League Baseball steps in
- 0:02and was like, oh, you can't hit him.
- 0:03And they're like, you're going to escalate this.
- 0:04We've had this issue a million times.
- 0:06Yeah, that was fun, dude. Remember, like so and everyone
- 0:09like now everybody knows. But the second time was because
- 0:12I went at Tony Pena. I was thought I was going to
- 0:14him. I was going to Tony because
- 0:15Tony. I know well and the first time
- 0:17was it's my first, it's my first day.
- 0:19I got the bubble gums. I had to take a shit.
- 0:22And so I was, I was on when you cleared the first time I heard
- 0:26it, I was literally getting off the Cam and like, I'm running
- 0:31out because, you know, the visiting, you got to go out and
- 0:33then run down. So I'm like trying to run and
- 0:36put my stuff together. They're like, you might want to
- 0:38run out there. I was like, oh, this is a great
- 0:39first impression. Yeah.
- 0:41Sweet. Yeah, Well, yeah, you got a
- 0:43second time, too. Brian Wolf also was making his
- 0:47Major League debut that day as well.
- 0:48For us. He came in.
- 0:50Oh, sorry, I backtracked. That was the first time we
- 0:52should have. Allison ended it when Brian made
- 0:54his Major League debut and was asked to hit him and he didn't
- 0:58do it 'cause it was his debut and he was too nervous to do it.
- 1:01That's interesting. So, you know, obviously when I
- 1:03was with you guys, I'm in the bullpen and we're in New York
- 1:06and we here it is, we're fighting again.
- 1:07Johnny Maggots hit or whatever. It is a fight.
- 1:09And I'm running out with Mariano in slow motion 'cause I was
- 1:12like, MO, I should be in a Blue Jays uniform right now.
- 1:14And mom goes, hey, just jog slow.
- 1:17And I was like, you're the best dude.
- 1:19It's like the slowest walk ever. So I didn't have to get involved
- 1:21in a fight wearing a Yu when I was part of what started that
- 1:25whole shit thing that lasted 4 years.
- 1:27Wow started it but. I think the golf clap of the day
- 1:30has to be Jabba saying he had the bubble guts.
- 1:34And those nerves are like, you can't duplicate those feelings
- 1:37anywhere else in the world. I don't care, man.
- 1:39Like this something that just takes over.
- 1:41And that's what I'm saying about all this rush stuff, rushing
- 1:43these guys to the big leagues. We're putting them in a
- 1:45situation you don't realize what you're feeling and how long it
- 1:49takes to to calm that down and be able to do your job when
- 1:53you're feeling something you've never felt before.
- 1:55Because there's nothing else that that gets to it.
- 1:58And now you got to figure out how to get rid of all this
- 2:00adrenaline and look at yourself as an equal and not look at,
- 2:04holy shit, that's Derek Jeter. And look at, oh, there's a hole
- 2:07here and a hole here and he does this and this county likes to do
- 2:10this. And this dude takes a long time.
- 2:12And those nerves are real. Well, I'll tell you what, my
- 2:15golf clap of the day goes to you for joining us, for joining us.
- 2:19Okay, Josh, we love you. We do.
- 2:22We love you man. We love what you do.
- 2:24You do so many great things to reach out to your son.
- 2:28Tell your son we love him and keep up the good work on.
- 2:30I'm looking forward to seeing him, you know, get back into,
- 2:33you know, baseball and pitching and getting.
- 2:36East East Carolina, he'll be there.
- 2:38He was there on that team and they're a good program, so he'll
- 2:40be there. Maybe, maybe we'll link your son
- 2:42and Jabba's son together. How about that?
- 2:44Now where's he at? What's going on with that?
- 2:46He's a sophomore. He he's at Hutch right now.
- 2:49Oh, nice. OK.
- 2:50Yeah, he was. He was a two way and then wanted
- 2:52to figure it out and then so he just got a PRP in his elbow so.
- 2:56So we've had that done too. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 2:58Does he throw fuzz? He's.
- 2:59Like 1994. Jesus.
- 3:02So it goes fast. So they're about the same.
- 3:03Yeah. Nice. 656-5210 It's a.
- 3:08Beautiful frame your last name. How about Java?
- 3:12Did you think you had a beautiful frame?
- 3:16Wide. That's right, as long as you're
- 3:20hiding the ball and it sneaks up a little bit, good Java is a.
- 3:23Beast, Could you imagine Josh Towers?
- 3:26You know he's in a dugout, goes up to job as there's.
- 3:29Man, you got a beautiful frame. I've I've heard worse, trust me.
- 3:37Josh, we love you, man. We love.
- 3:39You. I love you.
- 3:40Thank you. Absolutely, Josh.
- 3:42Good to see you, Josh. I love Josh.
- 3:47You know why? Because his personality, he he's
- 3:50just very, very funny. He's very fluent and he doesn't
- 3:53give a crap. He will say whatever he wants is
- 3:56he's just like Jabba. No wonder why they click.
- 3:59I mean, it went when it came back and and the bubble, what
- 4:02would he call it? Bubble guts, Bubble guts.
- 4:06Jabba, I expect that to be your the most used sound bite of
- 4:09yours next. Week.
- 4:11And those things are real, man. Bubble guts.
- 4:13Beautiful frame, I'm sorry, beautiful frame, I'm sorry.
- 4:21That was funny when he said. Definitely, definitely get fish
- 4:25to make a graphic. What is the most beautiful frame
- 4:28for you? I said why?
- 4:33UFC 317 featured 2 main event championship fights, both ending
- 4:39in under 3 minutes. In the flyweight championship
- 4:42fight, Alexander on Toha defended his title by beating
- 4:46Kai Kara Franzau with a rear naked chokehold.
- 4:51By the way, fantastic finish. When you get a chance to watch
- 4:54somebody put a rear naked chokehold, it's it's really in
- 4:57mixed martial arts now. It's almost impossible.
- 4:59You don't see that anymore despite being ranked #9 in the
- 5:03UFC rankings, Pantola said he is no doubt a top 4 fighter in the
- 5:10UFC after that win, the lightweight championship match,
- 5:14Ela Tupara knocked out Charles Oliveira, which by the way, was
- 5:18one of the most unbelievable knockouts I've seen in a long
- 5:22time, just in 2 minutes and 27 seconds into the fight.
- 5:25And by the way, before the fight, he actually told, he
- 5:29predicted, he predicted he was going to knock him out in the
- 5:31first round, which is unbelievable.
- 5:33So that is that by itself is a crazy, crazy story.
- 5:38So Ilya became one of just 10 UFC fighters ever to win a
- 5:45championship belt in two different weight classes.
- 5:47After becoming champion, Ilya is likely to fight Armand Soyukiyan
- 5:53and Justin Gagey or maybe even Patty Piblet to defend his
- 5:58title. And Ilya says he would like to
- 6:01fight Patty. I would love, love to see Ilya
- 6:04and Patty fight. I I, I think that he doesn't.
- 6:07Deserve a fight right now. Who?
- 6:09Patty. No, he just sells fights.
- 6:12He doesn't. He's he's #8 you don't give an
- 6:14eighth ranked guy against him. Yeah, but that's the only person
- 6:17in two weight classes to be undefeated.
- 6:18Say that, say that, say that about Conor McGregor and when it
- 6:21comes to. Putting yeah, no, I get it.
- 6:23I understand he's he's 2 point O.
- 6:25First of all, I think Topuria right now is the number one
- 6:29ranking fighter right now in the UFCI.
- 6:31Think now after knocking Charles Olivera.
- 6:33Olivera was in the top five, top 6 even with some of the latest
- 6:37losses that Olivera has had. Olivera has been one of the top
- 6:41five fighters the UFC has had in a very long time.
- 6:45And knockout fighter. Mixed martial artists can take
- 6:49you down. Wrestling, jiu jitsu, black
- 6:51belt. I mean, Charles Olivera is a
- 6:54great fighter, but the way Iliad just knocked him out the way he
- 6:57did with two minutes and 27 seconds into the fight was just
- 7:01absolutely incredible. And it says a lot about who he
- 7:04is as a fighter because when he comes out, there are a lot of
- 7:06fighters that come out and say, oh, I'm going to do this, I'm
- 7:08going to do that and never do that.
- 7:10As we all know, Conor McGregor for years has done things and
- 7:13said things that never came to fruition.
- 7:15But I this guy is as a dominant as a fighter.
- 7:18We've seen really since I, I would say Jon Jones.
- 7:22I mean Jon Jones, who, by the way, just retired recently and
- 7:26he's I don't think he's ever going to come back again.
- 7:28It's pretty obviously that he's not.
- 7:30But Ilia, what he did on Saturday night just shows you
- 7:34why the UFC has been looking for a superstar fighter to to move
- 7:38forward with and he is that guy now.
- 7:41Is he going to stay in those weight classes?
- 7:42Which class is he going to stay in?
- 7:44And it it being that he has dominated his weight class, Does
- 7:48he move up in weight class? Does he move up maybe 2-2
- 7:51weights two classes to to fight against better competition?
- 7:55I obviously he's in a, in a weight class right now that he
- 7:58has been really the best fighter in it and maybe he dips to one
- 8:0255150 now that's a lot of weight.
- 8:06I, I think right now he would have to dip.
- 8:08What is it 15 lbs? I'm not I'm not quite sure.
- 8:11Let's get Jake in here because Jake is the big UFC guy and I,
- 8:14I, I know Jake has followed a lot of UFC fights.
- 8:17I'm sure he watched this card 317.
- 8:21I watched bits and pieces. I watched the final fight.
- 8:24I watched bits and pieces of the rear naked chokehold which you
- 8:26don't see in. By the way, anymore, did you?
- 8:29Did you not see the best fight of the night?
- 8:31What? Are you talking about which one?
- 8:32Which one is that? Joshua Van and Brandon rival.
- 8:36Yeah, that. I was going to say Java.
- 8:37Thank you for that. Joshua Vaughn was honestly, it
- 8:41was probably fight of the night. I know Ilya's knockout of
- 8:43Charles was fantastic. They did, they did.
- 8:45They won Fight of the Night. Yeah, Alexandria Pantoja against
- 8:49Kaikar France like Pantoja put on a fantastic performance as
- 8:52well. But that fight, Brandon Rival
- 8:54and Joshua Vaughn was so. They didn't.
- 8:56They didn't stop. No.
- 8:58I was exhausted and they were just taking licks too and it was
- 9:02a non-stop. It was.
- 9:03It was so fun to watch. I just watched.
- 9:06I didn't, I didn't watch the, the I only watched the final two
- 9:09fights of the main card. I didn't watch the whole card,
- 9:11the whole 5 fight card. I didn't even watch the
- 9:14preliminaries. I, I didn't get a chance because
- 9:16I was DJ ING that night and I was pretty much working.
- 9:19So I was watching it on my phone.
- 9:21But I, I wanted to watch the Oliveira fight because Ilya, you
- 9:24know, this fight was being, you know, graded as one of the best
- 9:29fights the UFC has put together and probably the last five
- 9:31cards. And this wasn't even a fight.
- 9:34I mean, in 2 minutes, Ilia just pretty much dominated the fight
- 9:392 minutes and Charles Oliveira has never been knocked out like
- 9:42that ever. I've never seen Charles Oliveira
- 9:44just completely get his ass knocked out the way he did.
- 9:48So it was incredible. That was an incredible show,
- 9:52show of just dominating and and why he's probably the best pound
- 9:56for pound fighter right now the UFC has.
- 9:58I mean, who's better than him right now?
- 10:00Who's better? Than no he he is number one
- 10:02right now. Yeah, right, Rightfully so.
- 10:04And you're definitely right, Errol.
- 10:05I think like that's what was so crazy about is like Charles
- 10:07Olivera has been taken down before, but never like that.
- 10:10Just absolutely slept like Ilia is punching power.
- 10:14Like I know everyone was thinking like, oh, is he really
- 10:16going to be able to hang at 1:55 and is he going to have that
- 10:19same power? And there's no doubt at all
- 10:22after that after knocking out Charles Olivert, sleeping him
- 10:25like the KO victory like that. I was absolutely phenomenal.
- 10:28And I know I know you said you didn't watch this fight, but I
- 10:30just got to show you this this clip really quick.
- 10:32The ending of this of Roy Vall and Vaughn, like this fight was
- 10:35absolutely this ending was so like it was such a breakneck
- 10:39pace. It was a phenomenal fight.
- 10:41They were just going at each other the entire night, putting
- 10:44on a show for the fans. Like this is definitely one
- 10:45fight of the year. You should definitely check this
- 10:47out. Errol, this is.
- 10:48Like the last, I'll watch the. Card but it was it was so close
- 10:52back and forth and you know it right here at the OR close
- 10:56Brandon Roy Val was was tagging Joshua Vaughn, but Vaughn was
- 10:59answering right back and it gets almost to a photo finish near
- 11:02the end here where Joshua Vaughn almost finishes the fight.
- 11:06But you know, Brandon, Roy, Val just hung around the entire time
- 11:08and they bloodied the hell out of each other and it was it.
- 11:11Was and it was this pace the entire time.
- 11:13Oh my God, yeah. They never, they never stopped.
- 11:15They never is a breakneck pace the entire fight.
- 11:17Did you, did you see him keep slipping too?
- 11:19I didn't know if that was like sweat or like what, because he
- 11:23kept. Slipping.
- 11:23Yeah. I don't know, I I think it might
- 11:24it maybe it was the canvas because like, they were going
- 11:27really fast. Like there wasn't too much
- 11:28blood. I mean, they were bleeding
- 11:29definitely. So it wasn't from the previous
- 11:31fights, but it must have been just from previously, like,
- 11:34right there. Like it was almost finished by
- 11:35Joshua Fond. Like he was ready.
- 11:37And Brandon Warval was like trying to do everything he could
- 11:39to scramble and just make sure he can make it because, you
- 11:41know, like 10 seconds right there left like that.
- 11:43Finally, me and my brother or my brother, he had a bed on for the
- 11:47fight to just go to the decision and right there like Joshua
- 11:51Vaughn takes down Brandon where about 5-6 seconds left there
- 11:54like Oh my God, like it might really end here like at a photo
- 11:56finish. I will say this, I I'm going to
- 11:59get a chance to watch the whole card.
- 12:00I'll probably not tonight, but over the weekend I'll get a
- 12:03chance to watch 317 again. I the the fight that I wanted to
- 12:07watch. I want to watch Elia and I
- 12:09wanted to watch Charles. Oliveira is one of my favorite
- 12:11fighters. I've always rooted for Charles
- 12:12because he's such a likable person and so very well, well,
- 12:16well respected in the UFC. He doesn't go out there and talk
- 12:19crap. He goes out there and fights and
- 12:20even when they were doing the weigh insurance, how respectful
- 12:23both of these guys are to one another.
- 12:26You didn't when Elia knocked him, knocked him out.
- 12:28He actually, after he knocked him out, he wanted to make sure
- 12:31that he was OK because he was worried about Charles Oliveri
- 12:34getting knocked out the way he did.
- 12:35So it just shows you the type of respect these two guys have for
- 12:39one another. And yeah, I, I think Ilia is the
- 12:42best pound for pound fighter right now the UFC has to offer.
- 12:45But that says a lot about who he is.
- 12:47This guy, if you remember when he came into the UFC, he had to
- 12:51work his way up to the top and the UFC never gave him any, any
- 12:57light move, you know, lightweight all the way to the
- 12:59top. He had to earn his way to the
- 13:01top. When you, when you talk about
- 13:02Conor McGregor, Conor McGregor, when he came into the UFC, it
- 13:06took maybe 3 or 4 fights before the UFC and obviously Dana White
- 13:10fell in love with him and then he was moving up and ranking so
- 13:13fast. This guy, it took him a while to
- 13:15get where he was and now you know, he's 2728 years old.
- 13:19He, he, he's unbelievable. I I honestly think right now
- 13:23there's nobody in the UFC that could beat this guy in three
- 13:27different classes. He can move up 10 more pounds,
- 13:3015 more pounds. This guy is one of the best
- 13:33boxers, stand up fighters I've seen in a very long time really
- 13:37since Jon Jones. I mean, you look at Jon Jones
- 13:39and what he could do with his legs and throwing punches, his
- 13:41combination, That's what this this kid can do.
- 13:44I mean, he could do so many things.
- 13:46And by the way he trains, he does kickboxing, Muay Thai.
- 13:49This guy is as good a fighter all around, fighter we've seen
- 13:52in a very, very long time. Yeah, no, I think you're
- 13:55definitely right. You point out the fact with Ilya
- 13:56Tapori and how like the the similarities with Conor
- 13:59McGregor. I should have put this this
- 14:00photo up here really quick. I saw this Ilya and he
- 14:03apparently DM Ed Conor McGregor way back in the day.
- 14:06This poster here in Conor just put it up on his social media
- 14:09for not too long ago right there.
- 14:10Congratulations. I'm going to be you somedays.
- 14:12Fair play, son. And I think it's such an
- 14:15interesting thing to think about that, you know, Ilya it, it's
- 14:18I'm not, again, I'm not calling him Conor McGregor, but he
- 14:21definitely has that fighting style, that quickness, that,
- 14:25that pull, that that star power. And like you and me, we were
- 14:28going back and forth about how who should be the next face of
- 14:30the UFC and we were talking about Merab.
- 14:31And he definitely has the the skill, But Ilia has that, that
- 14:35like that, that star power or whereas Merab's kind of he's a
- 14:40little, he does run his mouth sometimes, but he's a little bit
- 14:42more quiet. He's more humble.
- 14:43Ilia has that like booming confidence on the on the brink
- 14:47of, you know, cockiness. And it's like it's such a
- 14:49strange thing because you like want to hate on Ilia.
- 14:52But then again, he is very respectful.
- 14:53Like I thought I couldn't believe like at the press fight
- 14:57or pre fight press conference, he was straight up telling
- 15:00Charles Oliver to his face, this isn't how I wanted to do I
- 15:02wanted to fight Makachev. And he said, I I I've already
- 15:06won. I've got the victory.
- 15:07And like in his face and I'm telling I'm like, how can you
- 15:09say that to a man? Like you're about to go to war
- 15:11with this guy and you're telling him I already beat you.
- 15:13And and literally he said, I'm going to knock.
- 15:15I'm going to knock, right. Yeah, like job, you're right.
- 15:19He he said, I'm going to knock him out in the first round.
- 15:22And he did it with ease. Like I will say this, Charles,
- 15:25that one moment he had in the match where he had Ili in the in
- 15:28the heel hook. If he if he clamped that in and
- 15:31he got it on Ilia, he probably would have because it's one of
- 15:34the worst injuries you can have. Like it's something that you do
- 15:37not want to stay in connected to your Achilles.
- 15:39Tenant if once you. Get a like.
- 15:42You can RIP somebody'd Achilles. Tenant right quick, but I will
- 15:45say Ilia, he didn't panic, he didn't forget.
- 15:47He scrambled like confidently almost, which was insane because
- 15:51it's like normally most times fighters in there, they panic
- 15:53and you know, it's like you get twitchy, especially with Charles
- 15:55Oliveri saw once he was on the ground, like Ilia was kicking
- 15:58him a couple of times, but he didn't he didn't want to go to
- 16:00the ground with Ilia at all. But even when he was in that
- 16:02dangerous position, he didn't you know, he didn't panic.
- 16:04He didn't scramble like like in a fear.
- 16:08He was confident. He got out of it quickly.
- 16:10He kept tagging Charles. And what was interesting to me
- 16:12was is that Charles pursued Ilia a lot and that felt like Ilia
- 16:18normally is pressuring all his opponents.
- 16:20And despite the fact he's only 5-7 and I don't believe his
- 16:23reach is very long. And and Charles had such a huge
- 16:26frame and a reach compared to Ilia, but he was pressuring Ilia
- 16:29the whole time. So it was almost like Ilia
- 16:31baited him in just waiting for him to keep coming and keep
- 16:33popping in with that jab. And then he found that right
- 16:36hand and knocked him out. You mentioned Merab and, and the
- 16:38only reason why I think Ilia right now is a little bit ahead
- 16:41of Merab right now, because Merab is, is a small guy.
- 16:44I don't know if he could fight in any higher or bigger weight
- 16:48classes because he's really small.
- 16:50Ilya, he's not a small man. The guy could he, he drops like
- 16:5430 lbs before his fights. He could fight, he could fight
- 16:58at 175, he could fight at 185 if he really wants to and he throws
- 17:02really, really hard and and the ability.
- 17:05That. He has the way he throws, he
- 17:07could fight in the higher weight classes and knock a lot of guys
- 17:10out in the bigger and the heavier weight classes.
- 17:11So I that's why I think Ilya is the best, best fighter, best
- 17:15pound for pound fighter right now the UFC has, and it's so
- 17:18funny because Joe Rogan after the fight and the way he Joe
- 17:22Rogan wanted to get on his hands and knees and suck him off.
- 17:24I mean, Joe Rogan absolutely loves Ilya.
- 17:29And you saw it after the fight. Oh, you're the greatest fighter.
- 17:32This is one of the greatest dominating fights against one of
- 17:35the greatest fighters the UFC has ever had.
- 17:37And, and really, Charles Dellavera is a great UFC
- 17:40fighter. This guy has been a multiple
- 17:42champion. This guy is, is, is he's a black
- 17:45belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. He's a good boxer, he's a good
- 17:48wrestler. He's all around fight games.
- 17:50Is, is as good as we've seen in a very, very long time.
- 17:53And then he's this guy goes into the ring and says, you know, I'm
- 17:56going to knock you out in the first round and embarrass him
- 17:59right in front of national crowd and, and the national fans
- 18:02around the world and just really showed why the UFC now has the
- 18:06next guy. And by the way, Ilia is so much
- 18:09better than Conor McGregor ever was.
- 18:11For anybody to think that, you know, you're trying to compare
- 18:14who is better at the top of their game.
- 18:17Ilia is a better fighter than Conor McGregor was.
- 18:19Now Conor McGregor had that knockout punch.
- 18:21He had that left hand. We all know what Conor McGregor
- 18:24is. He was more of a boxer.
- 18:26His Muy Thai suck sucked. His ground fighting sucked.
- 18:29He had no stamina whatsoever. Ilia has stamina.
- 18:32He's got the ground fighting, he's got the stand up power,
- 18:35he's got everything. So for anybody to try to compare
- 18:39Ilia to the Conor, there's no comparison.
- 18:42Ilia if he fought Conor McGregor at the top of his game, he
- 18:45knocks Conor McGregor out. I, I will say I would have loved
- 18:49to see that fight. I I think it would be kind of
- 18:51close just because of if you remember prime Connor, just how
- 18:54he he had that. I understand his stamina was not
- 18:56there and Ilia was definitely a better ground fighter.
- 18:58We haven't really haven't seen it though, no, because Ilia's
- 19:00just been knocking everybody out left to right, but he definitely
- 19:03wasn't. But Connor was a very like
- 19:06traditional striker and then he of course, he worked on his
- 19:08boxing when he went to go fight Floyd Money, Mayweather and
- 19:10things of that nature. But it would, it would be
- 19:13interesting to see. But like, I think I honestly
- 19:15like, and maybe this is just like recently by saying, but I
- 19:18might have to give it to Ilia because it's his power like
- 19:21again. And he's fast, like Connor was
- 19:23the same way. But Ilia, it's just like it's
- 19:25it's lightning quick and you, it just comes out of nowhere and it
- 19:27doesn't really make sense. And the fact that he moved up to
- 19:30weight and it seems like the power's still there.
- 19:32That's what's crazy to me. And and I know we talked about
- 19:36you said he could probably move up another weight class and
- 19:38personally, but I think what's going to happen is depending on
- 19:40whatever happens with Islam Mahachev and Jack Dellamandalena
- 19:43at with the. Names.
- 19:44I'm not going to love with you on that.
- 19:46Depending on what happens at welterweight, whether Islam is
- 19:50to win or lose, I think Ilia will probably wait for Islam The
- 19:54only. Personally me I'm a big Justin
- 19:57Gaichi fan so I would love to see Justin Gaichi fight Ilia
- 20:00Zeporia because I think Justin Gaichi does have the power to
- 20:02match to Poria although I am worried about.
- 20:05His speed because I feel like he would be really.
- 20:07Fat or cagey? Too much gagey drops, right?
- 20:09I'm not. His defense is.
- 20:12It does scare me a lot of times because he eats a lot of shots
- 20:15and you can't with Ilya, you cannot.
- 20:18You can not get tagged over and over again.
- 20:20But is an amazing he has an amazing jab.
- 20:23He could throw the jab and he sets up I Ilia to me when you
- 20:29look at the context of trying to compare his skill, his stand up
- 20:32skill to somebody, it would probably be Jon Jones.
- 20:36That would be the guy. Jon Jones obviously bigger and
- 20:38stronger than he was. But what what Ilia does so well
- 20:42is his stand up game hit, the way he sets up punches, the way
- 20:45he sets up combinations and then he doesn't need to take you
- 20:48down. He dominates you from the waist
- 20:50up and he makes sure that you can feel how hard he throws his
- 20:54punches. As a matter of fact, Charles
- 20:56Aloe Vera at at the press conference after the fight, he
- 20:58says that was the hardest punch I've ever felt in my UFC career.
- 21:02Could you imagine Oliver coming out and saying that and, and,
- 21:06and he's fought some of the best fighters UFC has ever had.
- 21:09And he said that was one of the hardest punches I've ever felt
- 21:12in my career. That says a lot about the power
- 21:14Ilia has and, and what he can do to people.
- 21:17It doesn't matter what weight class.
- 21:18That's what makes him special. And I, and again, I'm going to
- 21:21tell you this right now, I don't think this guy is going to be
- 21:24beaten. I don't care.
- 21:25In the next three years, I think this guy is going to dominate.
- 21:28He's going to give up one of those belts.
- 21:30I wouldn't even be surprised if he says, OK, I'm I'm dominated
- 21:33this division. I've dominated this division.
- 21:35I want to go into this division because I want to be the first
- 21:38three division champion the UFC has ever had because nobody had
- 21:41on that. Yeah, I have heard that take.
- 21:44Like they said, like Iliad, like he's so good and he probably
- 21:46won't be like, even though I want him to fight somebody's
- 21:49like I want him to fight Armand Saruki.
- 21:50I want him to fight Justin Gaichi and I want to like, I
- 21:52think Patty Pym. Like obviously there is the
- 21:54rivalry there. It's he's not ready yet.
- 21:55Like he doesn't deserve. I know Joe Rowan called him out
- 21:58and said like, hey, you know, we could see this fight between you
- 22:00and Patty because you guys have had your beef.
- 22:01I think it's probably going to be Armand Saruki and or Justin
- 22:04Gaichi. And they'll probably have Patty
- 22:05fight someone like Dan Hooker or maybe he'll fight Gaichi or
- 22:09Armand and the other will be we'll get the chance against
- 22:11Ilia first. But yeah, I think they UFC
- 22:13definitely want to set up Islam versus Ilia and that's probably
- 22:17going to be the matchup that everyone wants to see.
- 22:19Is I'll throw this up here too. This was the the pound rankings
- 22:23after the pay-per-view. And you know, Ilia, obviously
- 22:25the number one spot, Islam at #2 maraba #3 Drakus Duplessy at #4
- 22:30and then Pantoja, you know, getting his respect that I think
- 22:32he violently deserves, deserved to be in that higher rankings in
- 22:35the pound for pound rankings. I think he arguably probably
- 22:37should be #4 I do like Drakus, but I think that Pantoja has
- 22:41proved over the last couple of fights he's had, you know, Cara
- 22:45France, Arison as well. And he's, he's just been
- 22:49dominant and fantastic. And they I think they definitely
- 22:52want to see to Pori and Makachev.
- 22:54And like you say like I love Justin Gaichi but I am nervous
- 22:58for that fight. I think Ilia would also dominate
- 23:00Arma. I think he would dominate Patty.
- 23:02Like to me Islam is the only guy that I would think it will be a
- 23:06good fight. It won't just be Ilia is
- 23:09knocking someones ass out again. And that's the problem because
- 23:12Islam, he he likes to and this is down the truth.
- 23:15He wants to take you down. He wants to wrestle you and take
- 23:17you down. And and you're going to get the
- 23:18chance to see what Ili could do on the ground because that's
- 23:21what Islam is going to do. But.
- 23:23Islam does have hands, though. I will say like he can, he can
- 23:26like to me like if you look at him in versus Khabib, like
- 23:29Khabib was a straight wrestler. Like he could he could box, but
- 23:33he he just wanted to take you to the cage, tire you out, wear on
- 23:36your ground and pound and hurt you.
- 23:38Like if you like, you remember the fight with Dustin Poirier
- 23:40and Islam Mahashev, like Islam was boxing with Dustin pouring.
- 23:45That's somebody you don't want to stand up on the ground game
- 23:47with and box with. Like so I would love to see that
- 23:50fight. Like again, like you said,
- 23:51though, I don't think he'll want to trade with Ilia.
- 23:53He'll probably take him down and wrestle him and hire him out and
- 23:56we'll get to see how Ilia does. But that's that's the fight to
- 23:59make. Well we'll see what happens it's
- 24:01fun with the UFC and again, I haven't really watched the full
- 24:04card. I will watch 317 this weekend.
- 24:07It's 4th of July weekend and by the way, I wish everybody a
- 24:11happy 4th of July. We'll say that after the show,
- 24:13but it it's crazy because I never got a chance to watch it.
- 24:17Everybody kept telling me how how good the card was.
- 24:20The only two fights that I got a chance to see is the final two
- 24:22fights. And I I thought that the Ilia
- 24:25fight really stood out for me because I like Ilia.
- 24:28I think he, he's up, you know, obviously he's been around for a
- 24:31while, but he's up and coming when I mean by up and coming,
- 24:34he's it's going to be very hard to to see anybody in any of
- 24:38these weight classes beat this kid because the guy is so
- 24:40confident and so careful when he's he, he's so, you know,
- 24:45precise the way he boxes and way he stands up against people that
- 24:49the only way you're going to beat him is taking him down.
- 24:51And nobody's ever done that. So until somebody does that,
- 24:55good luck trying to stand up with him and trying to knock
- 24:57this guy out because the guy's got heavy hands.
- 25:00And like Charles Oliveira said at his press conference, this is
- 25:03the he is the hardest puncher he's ever been in the ring with.
- 25:06So that says a lot about him as a fighter and and how how
- 25:09dangerous and how scary this guy could be for the future and the
- 25:13US. He's only 27 years old too.
- 25:15So he's got a lot of fights left and a lot of opportunities to
- 25:19really show who he is. Might go down as the greatest
- 25:22UFC fighter of all time. He's got a lot he's got a lot to
- 25:24go. But Jon Jones to me, as much as
- 25:27everybody says Jon Jones is the greatest fighter of all time.
- 25:30To me, he might be the greatest bitch of all time because when
- 25:32he I'm. Just so pissed off with Jon
- 25:34Jones. And that why?
- 25:36Why do you think he didn't want to fight absent all though?
- 25:37Because he knows he's going to lose.
- 25:40I mean, yeah, it was the there are the legal like a parent,
- 25:42apparently. I think there are some legal
- 25:43cases that just came up with him.
- 25:45He might have gotten into a like a hit and run accident or
- 25:48something like that. But to me, the guy I agree with
- 25:50Errol, like I think he knows that he's older now.
- 25:53He beat up on steep a who was like 40 plus years old, which
- 25:56like steep AI got. I respect to him.
- 25:58What grace heavyweight of all time, but he just didn't have it
- 26:00anymore. He took the easy fight, but the
- 26:01payday and like. Well, yeah, and Steep a was he
- 26:05was firefighting 90. Percent yeah.
- 26:07And he like been laid off for like 3 to 4, like he hadn't
- 26:10fought in like 3 plus years. And it's like you're just not
- 26:13going to be in fighting shape to go up against the heavyweight
- 26:15champ like Jon Jones, like the guy who's arguably the best in
- 26:18the world right now. Like I think Tom Aspinall would
- 26:20have won and I wanted to see that fight.
- 26:22I'm so freaking pissed off with Jon Jones for quitting.
- 26:25And like, like you said, I think he bitched out on it and it
- 26:28bitched out a lot of. I mean, Dana White said the
- 26:30fight was done and they said they had it ready, but Jon just
- 26:33wanted to drag it along and be a duck like let.
- 26:35Me tell you something about Aspinall and why I like Tom
- 26:38Aspinall. After he heard that he was he
- 26:42was firing, he didn't go after he didn't attack Jon Jones.
- 26:45He wished him nothing but the best and he and he showed how
- 26:48much class Aspinall has. He he went out there and said,
- 26:51listen, he's one of the greatest fighters of all time.
- 26:54I understand when when somebody wants to walk away from the
- 26:56fights and spend time with his family.
- 26:58I wish him nothing but the best and I hope I hope he gets the
- 27:01chance to spend the time that he wants with his family, which he
- 27:04hasn't over the last couple of years.
- 27:05That says a lot about Aspinall and and the type of person that
- 27:08he is as a professional because he could have went out and
- 27:11attacked Jon Jones and told him go F himself.
- 27:13He didn't do that. That's something Connor would
- 27:15do. Espinal did not do that.
- 27:17And that's something that yeah, the class and the respect that
- 27:19you have to have for a fighter that could go down as the
- 27:22greatest MMA, greatest mixed martial artist, UFC fighter of
- 27:26all time in Jon Jones. So.
- 27:28Yeah, I think like you said, like Tom definitely would have
- 27:31been 100% justified in calling Jones a bitch and just telling
- 27:34him like he's a Jackass or whatever because he, I mean,
- 27:36wasted a year of Tom Espinal's prime.
- 27:39Like he was literally sitting on the shelf just training, working
- 27:42hard. And they and Dana White and
- 27:43Hunter Campbell and all them just said just stay ready.
- 27:45Just stay ready. Like keep training, keep, you
- 27:48know, be in shape. We'll, we'll tell you when the
- 27:49fight is. And they just had to be at the
- 27:51bend with the. Wall but they and the crazy part
- 27:53is they said it more than once that we're either close or yeah,
- 27:56it's almost a done deal and so it's like.
- 27:59I, I this is Dana. White's fault.
- 28:01This is Dana White's fault, by the way.
- 28:02Yeah. I, I think realistically they,
- 28:04they probably didn't have the fight ever ready.
- 28:06Like maybe they maybe they like verbally agreed to it, but I
- 28:10don't think it was ever written in in like a contract or was
- 28:12never signed by Jones and Aspen. Like they probably were just
- 28:15saying that just to like keep people's interest around.
- 28:18Because I will say I was excited for it.
- 28:20But like I heard tons of people online and UFC fans around the
- 28:23world, like they didn't really care or they didn't want to
- 28:25watch the fight anymore because it's like you kept dangling in
- 28:28front of us and then you was like, you never gave it to us.
- 28:30It was like, people aren't going to give a shit anymore.
- 28:31Like similarly, like with Connor, like I wanted to see
- 28:34Connor versus Michael Chandler and Connor kept getting in his
- 28:37party and in his legal troubles. And it's like now most people
- 28:39don't even really care. Like Michael Chandler, he went,
- 28:43he moved on, he moved on. I didn't want.
- 28:46I didn't want to see Connor and and Michael Chandler because to
- 28:49me. I'm just saying that like if you
- 28:51wait too long. No, I wanted.
- 28:52To see, I wanted to see Connor and Nate Diaz 3.
- 28:55That's what I wanted to see. For the years.
- 28:57That's what I wanted to see because honestly, Nate Diaz won
- 29:00both fights and Conor McGregor only won the second fight
- 29:03because if he lost that fight, his career would have been over
- 29:05with the UFC because he lost two consistently after, you know,
- 29:09before and after that fight. I mean, Connor won out of the
- 29:13five, his five last fights, I think he won two fights.
- 29:15He lost three of them. He was just inconsistent at the
- 29:18tail end of his career. And why?
- 29:21Because Conor McGregor had to fight Floyd Mayweather for the
- 29:23money. Now, I'm not going to take shots
- 29:25at him. He made $100 million.
- 29:26He invested in it to whiskey and from there he sold it for almost
- 29:31$600 million. You're not going to take a shot
- 29:33at a guy that was, you know, living off the streets and and
- 29:36working as a plumber or an assistant plumber when he was in
- 29:39Ireland and then became one of the one of the great popular
- 29:43fighters the UFC has ever had. I just I don't like Connor
- 29:46because of what he has done after the fact and what he has
- 29:49said after the fact, no matter who he fought or what he said
- 29:53about Jose Aldo. That knockout.
- 29:54Listen, it was an amazing knockout, but what a lucky punch
- 29:58man. That was lucky.
- 29:59And I don't think Jose Aldo really expected anything from
- 30:03Conor McGregor and he he got cooler one.
- 30:05But Conor wants to stand there and talk crap at after the fact
- 30:08when Jose Aldo is one of the greatest, you know, fighters of
- 30:11his class, weight class in history.
- 30:14Remember, he didn't come from the UFC.
- 30:16Came from what was it? What what was the the
- 30:20organization he came from before he went to, you know, before he
- 30:22went to the UFC. I forget.
- 30:24But I don't know if it was Josie Strike Force.
- 30:26No, it wasn't. Trike force it wasn't.
- 30:27Trike Force it was, I forget. I got to look that up.
- 30:31Look that up. Jose Aldo, Jose Aldo, he was
- 30:34from like. WEC or whatever it was it.
- 30:37Was something. It was from an organization
- 30:38which by the way, he was undefeated.
- 30:40And anybody that knows the background about Jose Aldo, Jose
- 30:42Aldo was a great soccer player and he hurt his leg and it could
- 30:46have been a professional. WEC.
- 30:48WEC Yep and UFC signed him and he became the champion and held
- 30:53the belt for a little while and then lost it.
- 30:55So I obviously from Conor McGregor, but again, my problem
- 31:00with Conor McGregor doesn't lie about who he is and what he's
- 31:03all about and where he comes from.
- 31:04My problem is, is the way he has come out and thrown people onto
- 31:08the bus and made himself look like a Jackass doing it.
- 31:11That is why I don't like Conor McGregor.
- 31:13You can't take take away from what he has done since such a
- 31:17short time and how much money he's made for the UFC and
- 31:20himself and his family. That is incredible.
- 31:23But Jon Jones is a bitch and I don't care what anybody says,
- 31:25you can take that to the bank. He's a bitch.
- 31:27Aspinall would have beaten his ass.
- 31:29I, I wouldn't be surprised with Aspinall knocked him out in the
- 31:32second round. He was fat, he was slow and
- 31:35that's the truth. And that's the he fought Steep A
- 31:37because Steep A was 40 years old and he was just looking for a
- 31:40payday. You're absolutely right, Jay
- 31:42and, and, and the reason why he didn't want to fight Tommy is
- 31:44because in his eyes, he's undefeated, even though he was,
- 31:47he really has a loss on his record because, you know, it was
- 31:50a disqualification. The fact is he his cheating
- 31:55ways, he cheated against Daniel Cormier.
- 31:57He can say whatever he wants. He cheated and he's always been
- 32:01in these these these situations over the years where he has not
- 32:05kept himself out of the tabloids.
- 32:07This is the same thing with his family, his brothers and they're
- 32:10great athletes, tremendous athletes.
- 32:11He's just he's a problemsome. I mean, yeah.
- 32:15And Chandler Jones like Joos his mind on the waiters like he
- 32:18wasn't saying almost. Chandler Jones is nuts.
- 32:20There's all family's nuts. That whole family's nuts.
- 32:23Dude. His his other two brothers.
- 32:25Chandler Jones and his other brother.
- 32:27Arthur was also an NFL. Yeah, he was an NFL player.
- 32:29They're all great athletes. They're father.
- 32:31I mean, they're giants and, and they're obviously John Jones is
- 32:36the greatest of all of them. I mean, Chandler Jones was
- 32:38great, but John Jones is you could, he's probably going to go
- 32:41down as the greatest mixed martial artist I've ever, ever,
- 32:43But that's because Dana White was protecting him for years.
- 32:46Dana White protected Conor McGregor, he protected John
- 32:50Jones and, and I, and I, by the way, I, I, I've grew up and I,
- 32:54I, we have to move on. BJ Penn, the stories coming out
- 32:58about BJ Penn. And for all the stories that
- 33:02probably are true, BJ Penn is a piece of shit.
- 33:04OK, that man for if these stories are true or what he was
- 33:08doing to his kids and what he was doing to his wife, it's
- 33:11despicable. I love BJ Penn.
- 33:13I followed him fastest to get a, a Brazilian jiu Jitsu black
- 33:17belt, Gracie black belt in two years.
- 33:19Fastest American to do that. And, and, and, and you're
- 33:21hearing these stories that he was abusing his kids and his
- 33:24wife and threatening them and, and talking all this rubbish.
- 33:27If these stories are to be true, that BJ Penn should be washed
- 33:30away from the UFC and should be spoken about again.
- 33:33It's despicable the stories that I heard about BJ Penn and that's
- 33:36coming from ABJ Penn fan so. I'm gonna I'm gonna have to look
- 33:39at stuff. I haven't heard about that.
- 33:41So it'll be news to me. I'm have to look into this
- 33:43story. It's a horrible story.
- 33:45You can read it. He's been dude, he was arrested
- 33:47three times in a week. It's despicable.
- 33:50I think his mom was saying that he was doing some abusive
- 33:53things. So it's A and this guy is this
- 33:56guy fought in the USC. This guy fought and won multiple
- 33:59championships and he's beating up a woman and his kids and
- 34:03threatening them and, and talking all this crazy crap
- 34:06that's coming out his mouth like though that they're, they have
- 34:08like aliens or they're saying that they're, they're he they're
- 34:10demons or something like that. He's losing his mind.
- 34:13Maybe CTE. And that's something that the
- 34:16UFC needs to look into as well because of mixed martial arts
- 34:19and all those punches to the head and all the different
- 34:21things that we've been talking about over the last couple of
- 34:23years with football. I think maybe he has CTE
- 34:26problems as well, but it's despicable.
- 34:28The stories are despicable. Go check it out.
- 34:30It's not very good for mixed martial arts in the UFC.
- 34:32See when those stories come out about one of the best fighters
- 34:34and a Hall of Fame fighter in in UFC history.
- 34:37Before we move on, Tom had a question in the comments
- 34:40section. What do you think about the
- 34:41recent Jake Paul fights? What do I think?
- 34:43I think Jake Paul paid Julio Cesar Chavez Junior.
- 34:47That's what I think he did. Because if he really fought
- 34:50Julio Cesar Chavez junior, Julio Cesar Chavez junior would have
- 34:55beaten him. I I don't want to hear anything
- 34:57in anybody that wants to deny it.
- 34:58Now, I respect Jake Paul because he's training.
- 35:02He puts the time in and you got to give him a little bit of
- 35:04credit. It's not easy from going to what
- 35:08Disney World or being on the Disney Channel to a being a
- 35:11professional boxer. But who's he being?
- 35:14I don't want you see the list. The first person, Nate
- 35:16Robertson. Nate Robertson just had a kidney
- 35:19transplant or a living transplant.
- 35:20Are you kidding me? He's like, he's like 6 foot or
- 35:23five foot 8:00 and you're going to sit there and you're going to
- 35:25brag about that You beat Anderson Silver.
- 35:28Who Anderson, Ben Askin, I mean, by the way, I got to give him
- 35:32shout out after winning that fight, going out there and
- 35:35trying to raise money for Ben. That says a lot about who he is
- 35:38as a as a person, even though they hate each other.
- 35:40That was nice of Jake going out and doing what he did.
- 35:43But the guy is a marketer. He's a genius.
- 35:46He's a marketing genius. If you want to give him some
- 35:49kind of credit, the guy is is one of the best marketing, you
- 35:54know, programming, you know, geniuses I've ever seen.
- 35:57Him and his brother Logan, how does it, how does Logan go to
- 36:01the WWE and become a champion? How does he go to the WWE and,
- 36:05and with the athletic ability that he have just completely be
- 36:09one of the most hated wrestlers in the in in the WWE and, and
- 36:14going, you know, being at main events and, and being like the
- 36:18Co main event and the main event.
- 36:20That's incredible. The brothers are just geniuses.
- 36:23They're marketing geniuses. I'll give him credit for that.
- 36:25But as a boxer, if he ever gets into a ring with a real boxer,
- 36:29he will be knocked the hell out, knocked the hell out in the
- 36:32first round. You want to fight Canelo, you
- 36:34want to fight a real boxer and get in the ring with a real box
- 36:37of good friggin luck, he will abuse you in in about a minute.
- 36:42You wouldn't even last a minute with a Canelo Alvarez.
- 36:45So it it's just. Canelo's Canelo's got a big
- 36:47fight in September. Yes, he does.
- 36:49Yes, and. We, you know, he's fighting.
- 36:51Yes, I know he's fighting, Mr. Nebraska.
- 36:53We all know. I know.
- 36:55I know. Hey.
- 36:56It's more than three hours of the show.
- 36:58That was the first Nebraska reference.
- 36:59By the way, the. Best I got I got a hat on so
- 37:01that that counts. Listen and he's the best anti
- 37:05dextrous fight I've fighter I've ever seen, OK?
- 37:07And there's no question. I can't, I can't stand freaking
- 37:10Jake Paul, man. Like to me, like the fact that
- 37:12you even think that you could just like you sound like
- 37:15intelligent and people will buy the shit that you, I mean,
- 37:18you're right. He's a smart marketer.
- 37:19But like, in fact he's like, Oh yeah, I can go fight Canelo and
- 37:21be like, but then you want to, you want to turn around?
- 37:24You want to turn around and then fight a 60 year old Mike Tyson.
- 37:27Like OK dude, like whatever fault.
- 37:30No, I'm going to, I'm going to clean it round.
- 37:34What did you up on this? I'm going to clean you up on
- 37:35this. That wasn't Jake Paul's fault.
- 37:38That was Mike Tyson's fault. Mike Tyson almost died three
- 37:41months before before the fight and then.
- 37:44You're right, he reached. Out to Jake and he said he
- 37:47wanted that fight. You know why he wanted that
- 37:48fight? Because he was getting 16 to $20
- 37:50million off that deal. Mike Tyson needed the money.
- 37:54OK, so. No, I get I get why they did,
- 37:56but I mean, like to me it was just like it was just the most
- 37:59boring, horrible thing. Like, not like it was nice that
- 38:03it was on Netflix because everybody has.
- 38:04Netflix, it was like, it was horrible on Netflix.
- 38:07It froze every time. It was.
- 38:09Well, I know, I know. But I mean like it was like at
- 38:11least you'd have to buy a pay-per-view for it.
- 38:13Like you could just buy but like dude.
- 38:15I it was. It was.
- 38:16So boring, like I remember watching 2 little rounds and I
- 38:20was like what the hell is this here's.
- 38:22The problem? Here's the problem, he got Floyd
- 38:25Mayweather that's fighting exhibition fights against Gotti
- 38:28and, and embarrassed Gotti, embarrassing himself after the
- 38:31fact. And, and, and by the way, John
- 38:34Gotti Junior made like, I don't know, like 9 or $10 million off
- 38:37of both fights. How does a guy who has no boxing
- 38:40experience and by the way, I watched his first UFCI mean I'm
- 38:43not UFC mixed martial arts amateur fight.
- 38:46I was at the event when he fought his first mixed martial
- 38:49arts and I was right there when he said John Gotti Junior and I,
- 38:52he was bragging about his son. I'm like, your son wouldn't last
- 38:55a second in the UFC and then and then he goes out there and he
- 38:59goes into the boxing world again.
- 39:01These guys have names. If you have a name and you can
- 39:05promote it, you're going to make money.
- 39:06That's just the way sports are now.
- 39:09It's a business. It's not about who's better than
- 39:11who or who's the most athletic. It's about, oh, it's Gotti, you
- 39:15have the last name Gotti. I'll put you in a ring.
- 39:17I'm going to make $10 million off the name.
- 39:19If Jabba wants the box right now and easy fighting in Nebraska.
- 39:22Do you know how many people would go to watch Jabba
- 39:25Chamberlain fight? I mean, seriously, it doesn't
- 39:27matter who he's. Fighting Jabba, You're going to
- 39:29fight. Who is it?
- 39:32I can't. Oh my.
- 39:33Doink the cloud. If he fought Doink, the cloud
- 39:35people would sell out to. No, no, no.
- 39:38I'll say you're going to play David Ortiz.
- 39:39We'll do Red Sox versus Yankees. No, Kevin Euclis is his number
- 39:43one enemy. Yeah, yeah.
- 39:44I can't see. That I'd do that for free.
- 39:47I pay to see that. That's what we got to set up.
- 39:50We got to set up Jabba Chamberlain against Kevin
- 39:53Euclis. That would be great because you
- 39:55know Tom Brady would show up to that match because that's his
- 39:58brother-in-law. That would be perfect.
- 40:01That would be absolute. Anyways, that that, by the way,
- 40:08that was a great, that was great.
- 40:10When it comes to mixed martial arts, we got into Jake Paul.
- 40:12It was great. Honestly, we're not even going
- 40:14to do King of the Hill tonight. We're not.
- 40:17We don't have to. We just gave you King of the
- 40:19Hill. We got into the mixed martial
- 40:21arts, the boxing. We gave you everything that you
- 40:24wanted there. Screw King of the Hill tonight.
- 40:26That was great. Jake, you are your knowledge
- 40:29when it comes to mixed martial arts and combat sport is
- 40:31sensational. But again, Jake Paul is a
- 40:34promoter. That's what he is.
- 40:37I, I'd love to see him get into a ring with a real boxer in the
- 40:40prime of his career. And if he he, if he could even
- 40:43get out of two rounds, I'll give him props.
- 40:45And I'm talking about 3 1/2 minute rounds, No2 minute
- 40:49rounds, 3 1/2 minute rounds with a real professional boxer.
- 40:55I pay, I pay to see it, but he's not going to do that.
- 40:58He's a chicken shit. That's it.
- 40:59I I'll challenge him on the show right now.
- 41:02I boxed for seven years competitively.
- 41:05I was an undefeated amateur for seven years.
- 41:08I was 22 O and one I fought. I I boxed a lot of good fighters
- 41:12out here in Long Island with fate, you know, obviously with,
- 41:15with face, you know, hell, you know, mad, you know, protecting
- 41:18face. But I I can, I can fight.
- 41:21I challenge Jake anytime, anytime he wants to fight.
- 41:24I got to I got to train for six months.
- 41:26It's a lot. You got to train for six months
- 41:28and I got to run and I got to get back into shape.
- 41:30I challenge his fat ass and I'll knock him the fuck out.
- 41:33OK, in two rounds. I would knock him out in two
- 41:37rounds. He's a chicken shit who throws a
- 41:39heavy right hand. And that's all I'm going to say
- 41:41about Jake. Jake is not a good fighter.
- 41:43He drops his hands, he tips his hands, and he's just like Conor
- 41:46McGregor. You get two rounds, his hands
- 41:48start to fall. And if you do that, he's got a
- 41:50soft chin. And that's all I'm going to say
- 41:52about that. What's going on over here?
- 41:54What? Thanks.
- 41:55Thanks, Raul. Yeah, I fought the bugs in
- 41:57Cleveland, that boy. He did.
- 42:01Ghost of Gotham here. Java is going to take Kevin
- 42:03Yukos. No, but I, I would love to
- 42:07fight. I would love to fight Jake Paul
- 42:09if he obviously I'm not, I'm not a big name and is get into a
- 42:13ring with a real person. I, I'm not even a real boxer
- 42:16because I I'm not a professional boxer.
- 42:18I'll knock it out. I'll knock you out.
- 42:20I will knock you out. I'm you, you go against these
- 42:23hockey players, these basketball players, former this former that
- 42:26UFC fighters out of shape. I'm 43 years old.
- 42:29You, I am. How old is Jake Paul?
- 42:3128 What is it? 28 years old?
- 42:33He he is 15 years of my I am 15 years of his elder.
- 42:39OK, I get into the ring and I promise you guys I beat him in
- 42:43A5 round fight, five round fight.
- 42:47What is he 3 minute? Rounds 3 minute.
- 42:48Rounds. 3 minute rounds. Three minute rounds, I don't
- 42:50think he lasts. If he fights 3 minute rounds, 5
- 42:53rounds with me, he'll I'll end him in two or three rounds.
- 42:56I'll end him in two or three rounds.
- 42:57He doesn't. He's not what he says he is.
- 43:00And I, I any day, anytime I'll fight him on the streets.
- 43:03We don't even have to go in the ring and sell it.
- 43:06Get me gloves. I'll train for a couple of
- 43:09couple of months because I'm going to need a couple of months
- 43:11to get my cardio back at least a little bit.
- 43:14I got to run a couple of miles. But I am absolutely right.
- 43:17I got to drop what, what does he fight at 202 O five?
- 43:20I think it's two O 5, right? Jake What does he fight AT2O5
- 43:23was this. Last.
- 43:24Well, I don't. Know 190 something?
- 43:28All right, so I'm two. I'm 216 today, so I would have
- 43:32to drop 3025 lbs. I would, I would need at least
- 43:36at least four months to do that because I, I definitely need to
- 43:39train my body with the stamina and all that other stuff and get
- 43:42into the ring and have some, you know, some, some competition
- 43:45with he's fighting with a. Cruiserweight standing, so I
- 43:48don't know what. Cruiserweight Cruiserweight
- 43:50IS191185190. That's what he's at so.
- 43:53I just had to point out too goes to Gotham, he says.
- 43:56If he doesn't run from you bro. So yeah, you might have to.
- 43:58You have to just train your cardio because Jake will be
- 44:00running for me the whole time. He's a bitch, man.
- 44:02And I'm going to tell you right now, I, I know how to stand with
- 44:05them and I, I know how to throw combinations.
- 44:08I did it. I'm not.
- 44:09And I'm going to tell you this right now, I'm not talking crap.
- 44:12I, I will absolutely do it. If he wants to do it, you could
- 44:15send this, but you could send this to his social media.
- 44:18I will challenge him. I'd fight him anywhere.
- 44:21I'd fight him in Disneyland right by the, what do they call
- 44:24that? The you know, Princess, Princess
- 44:26freaking magic. Castle magic.
- 44:28Castle magic Castle Magic Kingdom.
- 44:31I didn't. Have a Disney show that didn't
- 44:32do too great. Didn't have anything doing too
- 44:35great. He's the only thing he does
- 44:36great is promoting. I got to give him credit for
- 44:38that. But if he wants to fight, he's
- 44:40looking for a fight. I I'll, I'll be it'll be a
- 44:43pleasure to jump in the ring with him and give him a nice
- 44:46beat down and I'll do it for free.
- 44:48You don't even have to pay me. I'll do it for free.
- 44:51Jake, how about this will do. Whoever wins the fight donates a
- 44:56certain amount of money to whoever's organization.
- 45:00OK, cuz, cuz after I knock you the F out and I beat your ass,
- 45:05you can donate to Jabba Chamberlain's foundation,
- 45:09whatever foundation he chooses. OK, Jabba will be in my my
- 45:13corner after, you know, I spit a couple times in, you know, in,
- 45:16in my little bucket. And after I do that, I'll be
- 45:18dancing around and shoving my fist up your ass.
- 45:21Anyways, there you go. We have one more segment of the
- 45:25night and we call that. What's that smell?
- 45:28Hold up, what is that smell? What's that smell?
- 45:36Wow, you don't see that every day.
- 45:39Breaking news, this is a grumpy old man.
- 45:44All right, ladies and gentlemen, we have the boys and we're going
- 45:46to give them an opportunity too. Why not?
- 45:49They're they're our interns. They've done a great job.
- 45:51Jake, Aaron, Zach will be back tomorrow.
- 45:54So let's do it with them. All right, so here's the story.
- 45:57This is how we're going to do it.
- 45:58Anything you could join us too? It's very simple.
- 46:01We're going to we're going to give you a story that's happened
- 46:04over the last past week and we're going to tell you what it
- 46:06smells like. All right, we're going to go
- 46:08first. We're going to go with scoops.
- 46:11We're going to go with Aaron, Jake, Nathan.
- 46:15Well, I don't have a story for this one.
- 46:17All right, one up, Nathan. We'll take, we'll take Nathan
- 46:20out. All right, we'll take Nathan
- 46:22out. Then we'll have Speedy Jabba me.
- 46:25Here we go, all. Right, let's let's get the music
- 46:28going. Let's go.
- 46:29You're the one who spits it out. All right, so.
- 46:31Speedy's mom over. This past weekend we had AWWE
- 46:36event known as Night of Champions where they had over in
- 46:39Saudi Arabia. I just have to come on and say
- 46:41that's called Saudi Arabia pay per views, that they've had been
- 46:44going on since 2018. Or.
- 46:47Whatever or have been absolutely atrocious a lot of these Saudi
- 46:50pay per views. Are not I'll let you lick my
- 46:52butt. And it's really just, I don't I
- 46:54don't know what it is with the quality of wrestling right now.
- 46:57I do say Triple H is doing a really good job with the way
- 46:59wrestling has been going on and his booking.
- 47:01But however these Saudi paper views got to go, you got Crown
- 47:05Jewel, United Champions, that was a bust and are going to not
- 47:07going to go anywhere as it's going to be in Royal Rumble next
- 47:10year. A lot of the matches didn't
- 47:12deliver. I mean, you had the king of the
- 47:14ring, OK, sure, the queen of the ring.
- 47:15A lot of people weren't happy about that.
- 47:17You even had the last time ever John Cena was on his retirement
- 47:21tour against CM Punk, which was a pretty underwhelming match
- 47:24considering these guys. I've had great matches in the
- 47:27past before. So what does it smell like?
- 47:29It smells like some Saudi Arabia sand that AAA shoved up his
- 47:33underpants. So there we go there.
- 47:36You go. All right.
- 47:36So this is something I saw I think within the past week, I
- 47:40want to say on Twitter, I had thought of it, this would be
- 47:42good for this segment. I don't know if any of you guys
- 47:45saw it, but there is if there was a video out there with
- 47:48someone trying to get Kelsey Plum to sign one of their their
- 47:52rookie cards or like that. And she was very turned off by
- 47:57it, didn't want to do it. I mean, it was an older
- 48:00gentleman, but he seemed very nice.
- 48:02She was very standoffish. She ended up signing it anyway.
- 48:05But I was sitting there watching that video and going, man, look,
- 48:08everyone, everyone's complaining about the WNBA, how they don't
- 48:12get what they want, the money that they want or, or the views
- 48:14that they that they want and they want more people to watch
- 48:17them. But then you see stuff like this
- 48:19and go, OK, you're only hurting your brand by doing this.
- 48:23And then you also see the stuff with Caitlin Clark and go, OK,
- 48:26this one generational player is trying to save the entire
- 48:31league, but you guys are not willing to pursue other things
- 48:35and be nice to not even be just just be normal person, someone
- 48:38asking to sign someone, just sign it.
- 48:39Like to me, I just I thought it was just like, you're just
- 48:43ruining your sport. Like just just do what you got
- 48:46to do to help your league. At the end of the day, it's not
- 48:49like it was shitting on their own league, essentially just
- 48:52taking a big ass doogie on their league.
- 48:54That's it. The other one, Aaron, too, I
- 48:56don't know if you saw it too, if you guys saw it, where that girl
- 48:58was sitting courtside, She had a Caitlin shirt on.
- 49:01She brought over their shirt and she told the girl to do better.
- 49:05I didn't see that, but like you see, it's like I don't
- 49:07understand the narrative. Like, yeah, I get it.
- 49:09Like I think everyone wants to at least see some some sort of
- 49:12like uphill battle with them, like they want to see the league
- 49:16do good. But then I didn't end of the
- 49:17day, they're just ruining you for themselves.
- 49:19I don't know. They're that's, that's the way I
- 49:20see it. But I was like, that doesn't
- 49:22make any sense. All right, Yeah.
- 49:23So for my story, I'm going to go to the NBA.
- 49:26Obviously we're right in the middle of NBA free agency, so
- 49:28there's a lot of great moves. I'm sure we'll get into that in
- 49:30tomorrow's show. But the one I wanted to point to
- 49:32was these really or the the free agency move of Miles Turner
- 49:37leaving the Indiana Pacers and going to the Milwaukee Bucks on
- 49:41I believe it was like a four year, $109 million contract.
- 49:44Literally just, you know, weeks or even days after they lost the
- 49:48NBA Finals heartbreaking Game 7 to the Oklahoma City Thunder
- 49:53when they were one game away, they went on an improbable run.
- 49:55It was unbelievable. The Pacers owners, they don't
- 49:59want to pay Miles Turner, who's been there Center for like for
- 50:03their franchise for the last like 5 to 8 tennis plus years,
- 50:07all because Tyrese Halliburton went down with a horrific
- 50:10injury. You don't want to keep this team
- 50:11together and try to compete in, let alone you go to go to
- 50:14Milwaukee, your your main rival after they just cut and waved
- 50:18Damian Lillard. What kind of logic is that?
- 50:19Like you're just going to throw in the town and give up on one
- 50:22year after you just went to the finals and we're one game away
- 50:24from winning a championship? You're going to throw away one
- 50:27of your key contributors and pieces and let him walk to your
- 50:30main rival? That that smells like deep,
- 50:34bloody betrayal to me and the shitty smell of a dead deer
- 50:37carcass. That's good.
- 50:40There you go. That smells fitted very well
- 50:41with the Milwaukee Bucks team. All right, I'll shift to some
- 50:44hockey. These are two Boston radio
- 50:47hosts, Mike Felger and Tony Maserati, who took shots at the
- 50:50Bruins claiming that they draft too many local prospects,
- 50:54allegedly. Well, let's see how many
- 50:56prospects they drafted are from New England, not their first
- 50:58round pick. And James Higgins, we know
- 50:59Errol's a Long Island guy. They drafted another New Yorker
- 51:02in the third round. They drafted a Swedish kid in
- 51:05the second round in Liam Peterson and a later draft pick
- 51:08from Minnesota. So let's see how how many New
- 51:10England prospects are coming from there.
- 51:12None to go with That's a good job.
- 51:14Geography goodies. Geography looks better than
- 51:17yours at this point. And even if you wanted to not
- 51:20like even if you want to just reference the northeast,
- 51:22Northeast is a good hotbed for hockey.
- 51:24So like, why is it a bad thing for them to draft local
- 51:27prospects just because of a few of them in work out?
- 51:30So what does that smell like? Job?
- 51:31You like this one, and it smells like a sweaty Kevin Yukl is
- 51:34being knocked out by you into a barrel of.
- 51:37Rotten baked beans. Hey.
- 51:39I just said baked beans the other day.
- 51:40They're good, yeah. But but you're knocking him into
- 51:43a a container of rotten baked. Beans OK rotten knocking out of
- 51:46that rotten all right I'm going to switch to baseball and I
- 51:51don't know if you guys seen this, but this dumbass Dave
- 51:53McCaskill has been four years in a row of interfering God plays
- 51:59left center. He's he's kind of, they try to
- 52:02emulate him and his buddies have contest and they're kind of like
- 52:06the Zach Hampel of the other side.
- 52:08And, and he, he gives an interview and he's like, yeah,
- 52:11I've only been ejected twice. And so he is now banned for 2025
- 52:19for the rest of the year. And he can come back in 2026 if
- 52:23he follows all the rules. I talked to a colleague of ours
- 52:28and Megan Plain who actually did an interview with them and she
- 52:31was like, you know, it was interesting.
- 52:33He's very, very proud of what he did.
- 52:35But you know, when it comes to interfering with games and
- 52:37outcomes of games, and I just, I don't like it.
- 52:41And then you are proud of it. And you you say you vote.
- 52:45You've already gotten thrown out twice.
- 52:46Like, OK, maybe once you know, you get a little overzealous and
- 52:50you reach out because you're excited.
- 52:52But then again and then now you're banned it, it just shows
- 52:55that you have little little leaner man syndrome.
- 52:59And it sounds like he didn't use his dude wipes and he wipes back
- 53:02to front. As long as she's using dude
- 53:04wipes and taking care of my 2 hole I'm good.
- 53:10All right, the. Final Oh, sorry, I was just
- 53:13going to say really quick. I know a lot of baseball fans
- 53:16have their opinions on him, but like as players, do you hate
- 53:18Zach Ample too? I just had to now ask.
- 53:20Oh, he's annoying his balls. OK, I, I mean, I get, I get
- 53:26like, I mean he's wrote books and whatever, but why he does
- 53:31it, it, it, it annoys me and like he'll literally steal balls
- 53:35from kids. Yeah, no, I I just wanted to
- 53:37know, but that makes sense. All right, my final What's that
- 53:40smell goes to one of my worst hated players in NFL history,
- 53:46Rodney Harrison to be inducted into the Chargers Hall of Fame
- 53:52during 2025 season. I love this.
- 53:56Rodney Harris is set to be honored by the club that drafted
- 54:00him. The Chargers announced on Monday
- 54:02that they will be inducting Harrison into the team's Hall of
- 54:05Fame during halftime of their Week 8 Thursday Night Football
- 54:10game against the Minnesota Vikings on October 23rd.
- 54:14Rodney Harrison is is explained as his physicality, his emotion,
- 54:20his relentlessness, his effort, his toughness in his grit.
- 54:23The only thing I remember of Ronnie Harrison is Super Bowl
- 54:282O7 when he was trying to catch on, intercept the ball and David
- 54:34Tyree steals the ball and catches it with his helmet and
- 54:40cost, yes, the New England Patriots Super Bowl on what,
- 54:45undefeated season? You know what that smells like?
- 54:48It smells like an absolute shit stain loser that Rodney Harrison
- 54:53is. And by the way, probably you
- 54:55could pull that wedgie out of Phillip Rivers ass.
- 54:58There you go. So that's about it.
- 55:00And by the way, for all the Phillip Rivers haters out there,
- 55:03you can kiss my ass because Phillip Rivers is a Hall of
- 55:07Famer. That's what I'm going to say.
- 55:09When are we going to get Steve Weich bat back on the show?
- 55:12Well, I want Steve on the show because Steve is going to be
- 55:16kissing my ass after he goes to the Hall of Fame.
- 55:18That's what Steve's going to be doing.
- 55:20He's going to be you know what I'm going to do after he takes
- 55:22me out to a steak dinner. I'm going to tell I'm going to
- 55:24have him and his wife at the dinner table and I'm going to
- 55:27say, you know what, I'll pay for dinner.
- 55:29You know what you're going to do?
- 55:30I'm going to pull down my pants and you're going to kiss my left
- 55:32cheek and you're going to do it in front of all these people out
- 55:35here. And then I'm going to send it to
- 55:37ESPNNFL network and I'm going to show you how big of a idiot you
- 55:41are when you came out and said that Philip Rivers is in a Hall
- 55:44of Famer. Steve, I love you, but you're
- 55:46out of your damn mind. TJ Ward, you're out of your damn
- 55:48mind. Eli Manning, Ben Roethlisberger
- 55:51and Philip Rivers are in a Hall of Famer.
- 55:54That was a crazy take. We got to take that and cut that
- 55:56baby. Oh, I did already.
- 55:57That is, that is absolutely. He went.
- 56:00He went. Eli Ben, right?
- 56:04Yeah, when I was making that clip for Instagram and I was
- 56:07going back and rewatching, I was like, I couldn't believe he said
- 56:10that. And I was like, if he doesn't
- 56:11think any of those guys is over, going like no quarterback in
- 56:15this current league aside from maybe Mahomes, I'm like, it must
- 56:19be at all eligible because if that's his logic, that's crazy.
- 56:22Yeah, it doesn't make any sense. And by the way, he said Eli
- 56:24Manning first. Yeah, Eli Manning won two Super
- 56:27Bowls. And I know Fish what was have he
- 56:29was getting a hard on when he heard that.
- 56:31He was like, Oh my God. Oh my God.
- 56:35Listen, I understand he's the name.
- 56:37He's Eli Manning. He's Peyton Manning brother.
- 56:40The fact is, he even said, I said who was the better player?
- 56:43He said you didn't ask me that and he knows the truth.
- 56:46Philip Rivers was the better player out of all three of them.
- 56:49So how could you say Eli Manning, who, Yes, he won two
- 56:52Super Bowls. Yes, he has a name.
- 56:55Should go to the Hall of Fame ahead of Ben Roethlisberger and
- 56:58Philip. That didn't make any sense.
- 56:59TJ. Where are you coming from, man?
- 57:02What are you smoking? Anyways?
- 57:04I just had to say that we love you, TJ.
- 57:06We can't wait for you to come back on the show.
- 57:08No one be hating on my guy. I'm not hating on him, I was
- 57:11just. We know he's smoking, he's
- 57:13smoking, he's smoking the Nathan shrimp cocktail.

- 58:07PM. Who is it?
- 58:08Matthew Dennis, he was at the Fanatics games this year.
- 58:11He was the one of the fans that competed.
- 58:13He was in 3rd place. He got 250250K from Tom Brady.
- 58:17Yeah. Where's my coming on the show?
- 58:19Where's my 200? Tell him, can I?
- 58:21Hey, Tommy, first of all, you were supposed to get me that
- 58:23thing over there in the Hamptons with Tom Brady.
- 58:26You never got that for me, you little piece.
- 58:28They. Never answered back.
- 58:30Bend over. Show everybody that ass, that
- 58:32Indian ass. Show them now.
- 58:33DNS No. As long as she's using dude
- 58:37watch and taking care of my 2 hole I'm good.
- 58:39This makes my pecker. Hard anyways, that's it for our
- 58:41show ladies and gentlemen we'll be back tomorrow.
- 58:44We'll have fish back we'll have Zach here we'll have the whole
- 58:47show and maybe we'll add king of the hill because we never get a
- 58:50chance we got to do that that whole UFC mixed martial arts
- 58:54thing. That wouldn't be fair because it
- 58:55would probably just be me and Jake.
- 58:57That wouldn't have been fair. What is fish thinking?
- 58:59I I don't get it, John. Hey, you're not going to give me
- 59:02any credit on the UF? CI didn't say I didn't say that,
- 59:04but I, I, I listen to Jake and I listen to his take.
- 59:08I, I just, it's going to be hard to to attack this guy when it
- 59:12comes to his takes. When it comes to mixed martial
- 59:14arts, you probably, you probably have the third most knowledge on
- 59:17the show about mixed martial arts.
- 59:18So it would have. Been I'm the only one that's
- 59:20ever had a deal with the UFC, so right there there.
- 59:22You try there, you show, right? You want to show your ass?
- 59:25Show everybody your ass, I mean. I got birthmark on my right
- 59:29cheek. There you go, me too.
- 59:31Is that what your future wife is looking at right now after the
- 59:36show? Sitting down you stupid ass.
- 59:38How do we know you're sitting? Maybe you're sitting on her.
- 59:43That would be silence. I'm losing my mind tonight, I'm
- 59:47losing my voice. I'm losing everything.
- 59:49Anyways, that's it for a show. We'll be back tomorrow.
- 59:52Goodnight. It it.
- 59:53It's the worldwide sports radio network.
- 59:56Radio Network.
