- 0:17Speaker 1: A good Monday morning to you. Thank you for joining
- 0:20Speaker 1: us here on this is a life podcast. We get
- 0:22Speaker 1: ready for this morning's devotion time with the Lord. It
- 0:25Speaker 1: is called the morning Meeting. And after we did our
- 0:29Speaker 1: devotion time Friday morning together, I had a great time
- 0:33Speaker 1: spending breakfast with three brothers in Christ, two of whom
- 0:37Speaker 1: I just met that day, and we just had a
- 0:40Speaker 1: wonderful time of fellowship in the Lord and kind of
- 0:43Speaker 1: brought a small devotion there that really turned into just
- 0:46Speaker 1: a real meaningful, impactful time together with the Lord. And
- 0:51Speaker 1: so I wanted to kind of read that verse this
- 0:53Speaker 1: morning and maybe just talking a little bit about what
- 0:56Speaker 1: we talked about then, But just God has kind of
- 0:58Speaker 1: added a little bit to that since then. It was
- 1:01Speaker 1: in Psalm chapter five and verse number three when the
- 1:04Speaker 1: Lord said, my voice shout though here in the morning,
- 1:08Speaker 1: Oh Lord, in the morning, will I direct my prayer
- 1:12Speaker 1: unto thee and will look up as I spent some
- 1:16Speaker 1: time with them. What we talked about is when we
- 1:20Speaker 1: have our schedules, whether we own a business or work
- 1:23Speaker 1: for a business, whether we go to school or have
- 1:27Speaker 1: a ministry, or just other agendas on our lives, we
- 1:29Speaker 1: always have times where we have to meet with other
- 1:32Speaker 1: people for certain things. The most important meeting we could
- 1:37Speaker 1: ever have in our lives is our morning meeting with Jesus,
- 1:42Speaker 1: because in that time frame, we not only do we
- 1:45Speaker 1: have time to pray and to talk to the Lord,
- 1:49Speaker 1: but there's another very important element that we've talked about
- 1:52Speaker 1: here on our podcast before. I've preached it and taught
- 1:54Speaker 1: it in other areas and at sunrise as well. But
- 1:58Speaker 1: there's a very important part of that meeting that sometimes
- 2:02Speaker 1: we overlook, and it is perhaps the most impactful on
- 2:06Speaker 1: our day, and that is when we allow the Lord
- 2:10Speaker 1: to speak to us. You know, in my days in
- 2:12Speaker 1: the military where I was stationed, every morning at eight
- 2:17Speaker 1: o'clock there was a meeting and the colonel would call
- 2:21Speaker 1: a meeting and all the people who were under his
- 2:23Speaker 1: command in that area would come and we would all
- 2:27Speaker 1: take part in that meeting. Now, one thing about that meeting.
- 2:31Speaker 1: You did not miss that meeting. That meeting was very
- 2:34Speaker 1: important for that day, It was important for the mission.
- 2:38Speaker 1: And in that timeframe, what happened was the colonel would
- 2:41Speaker 1: allow fifteen or twenty minutes at the beginning of that
- 2:44Speaker 1: meeting for anybody to voice anything that had happened the
- 2:49Speaker 1: day before, with flights or training or exercises that we
- 2:53Speaker 1: had to do, planes that didn't function well, or other
- 2:57Speaker 1: areas of concern, as well as successes, and we would
- 3:00Speaker 1: have time to kind of voice those to the Colonel
- 3:04Speaker 1: and the staff. But then after that, if all we
- 3:09Speaker 1: did is after the colonel heard us, we got up
- 3:12Speaker 1: and left, then we would miss the most vital part
- 3:17Speaker 1: of that meeting, which was not only us conveying our
- 3:20Speaker 1: thoughts to him, but now he had something he needed
- 3:24Speaker 1: to convey to us. The flights that wore due that day,
- 3:27Speaker 1: the training that need to be done, how many missions
- 3:30Speaker 1: were going to be flown, how far they were going
- 3:32Speaker 1: to be flown, how many hours were going to be
- 3:34Speaker 1: logged up, certain planes that just wasn't functioning well. All
- 3:38Speaker 1: of those things needed to be conveyed to us. Now
- 3:42Speaker 1: I'm saying that simply because the fact if we missed
- 3:44Speaker 1: that part of the meeting, then we miss all of
- 3:47Speaker 1: the agenda of that day, the pitfalls and the problems,
- 3:51Speaker 1: and also the things that would be very successful. And
- 3:55Speaker 1: it is even more so in our spiritual walk with
- 3:59Speaker 1: the Lord, because what happens is if all we do
- 4:03Speaker 1: is talk to the Lord about what concerns us. Then
- 4:07Speaker 1: we miss all the things He needs to breathe into
- 4:10Speaker 1: us and speak into us, and direct us and warn
- 4:13Speaker 1: us of and all of these things. And you may say,
- 4:17Speaker 1: I've heard some people say, well, how do I know
- 4:20Speaker 1: what is the voice of the Lord? You spend time
- 4:23Speaker 1: with the Lord. You'll know. If I was to close
- 4:26Speaker 1: your eyes and put you in a room with ten people,
- 4:29Speaker 1: and each one of them said one sentence to you,
- 4:33Speaker 1: you would recognize, beyond the shadow of a doubt, the
- 4:37Speaker 1: one you spend the most time with. You would know
- 4:40Speaker 1: their voice, the inflections in their voice, you would know it.
- 4:44Speaker 1: And it's the same way with the Lord, because the
- 4:46Speaker 1: Lord tells us in the Gospel of John in chapter ten,
- 4:49Speaker 1: he tells us specifically, my sheep know my voice. But
- 4:54Speaker 1: then he goes on to say, and they follow me,
- 4:58Speaker 1: and I give unto them eternal life, and they shall
- 5:00Speaker 1: never perish. And he speaks all these other things to
- 5:03Speaker 1: his sheep that know his voice. And so this morning,
- 5:08Speaker 1: what the Lord is telling us is that every single morning,
- 5:12Speaker 1: before we have anything else on our calendar, we must
- 5:17Speaker 1: spend time with Jesus, because he has all of the
- 5:23Speaker 1: things that we need to know about the day that's coming.
- 5:27Speaker 1: Maybe not next week, maybe not next month, but he
- 5:30Speaker 1: has today. And so I encourage you every time we
- 5:35Speaker 1: get together here on this podcast to take a little time,
- 5:39Speaker 1: to just take a little time and spend some time
- 5:42Speaker 1: with Jesus. He's not just our colonel and our general
- 5:45Speaker 1: like a military. He's even more than that. He's our savior.
- 5:50Speaker 1: He's our guide. The Holy Spirit guides us and leads
- 5:53Speaker 1: us through every part of our day. So today you
- 5:56Speaker 1: be safe, you be strong, and you be blessed, and
- 6:00Speaker 1: you be aware to day that there is a morning
- 6:03Speaker 1: meeting taking place. Don't miss it. Lords will will see
- 6:08Speaker 1: you back here again tomorrow and until then, as always,
- 6:13Speaker 1: I hope you have a great day.
