- 0:01Speaker 1: An excellent wedding reception song right there. 106.7 Light FM.
- 0:05Speaker 1: Uptown Funk, too.
- 0:06Speaker 2: A good one from him. It's Cubby, Christine, producer Kristen.
- 0:10Speaker 1: And the reason I brought up a wedding reception, I'm
- 0:11Speaker 1: just talking weddings here with you about a new trend that's.
- 0:16Speaker 2: Kind of a great idea. Do we like this? Yeah.
- 0:18Speaker 2: What do you think? Give us a text at 44363.
- 0:21Speaker 3: Okay, so there is a trend now because we know
- 0:23Speaker 3: how expensive weddings are. And people RSVP and you've got
- 0:27Speaker 3: it booked and you've paid for their seats and their
- 0:30Speaker 3: dinner and everything that goes with it.
- 0:32Speaker 2: Sometimes you even have to tell what kind of dinner
- 0:34Speaker 2: you want. Yeah, it's all done. You check off the box.
- 0:36Speaker 3: Right, it's all set. And it costs you a lot
- 0:38Speaker 3: of money. And then these people can't make it for
- 0:40Speaker 3: some reason.
- 0:41Speaker 2: Last minute cancellation.
- 0:42Speaker 3: Kind of last minute cancellation. So some couples are now
- 0:46Speaker 3: selling those seats.
- 0:49Speaker 2: This is brilliant.
- 0:50Speaker 3: I mean, you know.
- 0:50Speaker 2: You might as well make some money back.
- 0:51Speaker 3: I'm imagining they do. They pick a sum that's not
- 0:55Speaker 3: like super, super expensive, like something a little fair. So
- 0:58Speaker 3: it feels like a bit of a deal for the
- 1:00Speaker 3: person to go to a wedding where they don't know anyone.
- 1:02Speaker 2: And you're making a little bit more money than you
- 1:03Speaker 2: would have.
- 1:04Speaker 3: Right. But they say, you know, these wedding crashers have
- 1:07Speaker 3: been vetted. They go through a website, make sure, you know,
- 1:10Speaker 3: they're OK. And they actually have a lot of fun
- 1:13Speaker 3: because they're having dinner, they're dancing and they're celebrating somebody's
- 1:17Speaker 3: big day. The people who have done it said they've
- 1:20Speaker 3: been embraced by the couple, the family. It's just like
- 1:22Speaker 3: it's a party.
- 1:23Speaker 2: But it could happen on a moment's notice.
- 1:25Speaker 1: Like you could be at home and you get like
- 1:26Speaker 1: a text or an email if you've already signed up
- 1:29Speaker 1: for the service. Yeah.
- 1:30Speaker 2: Like, oh, my God, honey, we got to go. There's
- 1:32Speaker 2: a wedding 30 minutes away. We're having dinner there.
- 1:35Speaker 3: I know.
- 1:36Speaker 2: That's how I envision how it happens.
- 1:37Speaker 3: You get to get dressed up at weddings. You know,
- 1:40Speaker 3: that's a good vibe. That's a happy vibe.
- 1:42Speaker 1: So it kind of reminds me of the app you've
- 1:44Speaker 1: heard of too good to go. We've talked about this before.
- 1:46Speaker 1: There's an app called too good to go. And you
- 1:49Speaker 1: can look at places in your area that are getting
- 1:51Speaker 1: rid of food that they couldn't sell. So say there's
- 1:55Speaker 1: a bagel store nearby where you live, Christine.
- 1:57Speaker 2: Right.
- 1:58Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:58Speaker 1: At 7 o'clock at night, they'll be like, oh, man,
- 2:00Speaker 1: we have all these bagels we never sold today. Let's
- 2:02Speaker 1: just get rid of them. And they put out a
- 2:05Speaker 1: notification and you can get like 20 bagels for two bucks.
- 2:08Speaker 3: That's great.
- 2:08Speaker 2: Because they just want to get them out.
- 2:09Speaker 3: And the food's not being wasted. I love that.
- 2:11Speaker 2: Right. And the food's not being wasted. Right.
- 2:14Speaker 3: So, yeah. So this is, you can check into this if,
- 2:16Speaker 3: why not this weekend? Have a little party at somebody's wedding.
- 2:19Speaker 2: But you may not know until the last minute, right?
- 2:21Speaker 1: Yes.
- 2:22Speaker 2: Hit us up at 44363.
