- 0:00You have arrived. Welcome to the ASPY world.
- 0:04Here's where we talk about anything and everything ASD in
- 0:07an upbeat and informative way. And now here's your man on the
- 0:11spectrum, your autism Ambassador, Daniel Morgan Jones.
- 0:19So here are five autism apps that you definitely need to
- 0:22check out. Hey guys, welcome back to the
- 0:23aspy world. My name is Dan, I have autism
- 0:25and ADHD and I make weekly videos all about the stuff.
- 0:28So if you're new around here and you want to learn more, make
- 0:30sure to hit the subscribe button down below.
- 0:32OK, Autism apps. OK, I have found some really
- 0:36awesome autism apps that I wanted to share with you this
- 0:38year, but also one of them is a new autism dating app and I'm
- 0:44very interesting. OK, let's get into it.
- 0:46So the first app Want to talk about is Speak Out.
- 0:48Now Speak Out is a app that was funded and founded by people who
- 0:52have children on the autism spectrum and they wanted them to
- 0:55learn to speak more or have it is the ability to speak more.
- 0:59Because obviously a lot of autistic people are not verbal.
- 1:01Some autistic people have no language at all.
- 1:04So having an app that you can have on your iPhone or your iPad
- 1:06where you can just click a symbol and it'll say a word for
- 1:08you out loud like toilet or hungry or food or sad or
- 1:11whatever. Speaker was one of those apps.
- 1:13It's absolutely amazing and I've left a link actually for all
- 1:16these apps in the description down below.
- 1:17Now with Speak out, I think there are some language buyers
- 1:19because I think it is a Portuguese app initially, so
- 1:22there may be some geographical issues.
- 1:25Right now I think you can get it in the United States and you can
- 1:28get it also in Brazil but I'm not entirely sure when it's
- 1:32released all over the world. But definitely check them out.
- 1:34I think the cause is pretty awesome.
- 1:36I think like what they do is amazing and you hire to check
- 1:38out, speak out now the next one is Collage.
- 1:41Now Collage is the dating app. Well I say dating app, it's not
- 1:44specifically primarily a dating app.
- 1:46What actually is going on is that Collage is a an app that
- 1:51allows or a website that allows you to kind of communicate with
- 1:55other autistic individuals. It's safely because this thing
- 1:57is very secure, very safe, and you can build up a groups of
- 2:01people to communicate with. So you can make friends through
- 2:03this app, but you can also potentially make romantic
- 2:06partners to this app. There are a bunch of
- 2:07possibilities and loads of cool opportunities coming on with
- 2:11this specific app. Now they have happily sponsored
- 2:13this video. So Collage is currently
- 2:15collecting people for their waiting list and if you're
- 2:17watching this after it's already launched then you can go to
- 2:19download the Collage app straight away.
- 2:22It's absolutely amazing. It's probably one of the most
- 2:24promising apps I've ever seen and so we've been used to very
- 2:27bad technology wise autism dating apps.
- 2:30There's only like one or two, but having the ability to have a
- 2:33good solid app that works and it's safe with no bugs.
- 2:37This is where Collage comes into it and I highly recommend it.
- 2:40So if you want to make friends, if you want to find maybe the
- 2:42love of your life, definitely check out Collage again.
- 2:45Link is down below. Now the next step want to talk
- 2:47about is Thrive. Now the Thrive app is something
- 2:50absolutely amazing. Now this is only available in
- 2:52America at the moment. And the most interesting thing
- 2:55about Thrive is I actually spoke to the founder, the person who
- 2:58who made the app, and she is a lovely woman.
- 3:01And she made this app because her children were on the
- 3:03spectrum and she wanted an app that would help organize their
- 3:07life, help make them more organized and keep up to date
- 3:09with all the things that they have to do.
- 3:10Because when your mum is bad enough to kind of keep on track
- 3:13of everything you have to do, when you're a mum of autism, at
- 3:15a moment of autistic boys, you've so many things to do.
- 3:18This app was designed by a mum who had these kids on the
- 3:22spectrum and now it's available for the masses.
- 3:24Now Thrive is pretty interesting.
- 3:26I've left a link and down below so you guys can check out
- 3:28Thrive. I think that it's an amazing app
- 3:30and I think that they're doing an amazing job.
- 3:32I love apps that come from a place of people wanting to do
- 3:35the best for themselves in their family when it goes down to
- 3:38disabilities, because this has so much more love behind it and
- 3:41I love that. Now the next stuff I want to
- 3:42talk about really isn't an app as such.
- 3:44It's more of a website. But I think this is amazing.
- 3:46Now it's called Able View and this is about a BLEVU.
- 3:51Now ableview.com is a site that is basically like a directory
- 3:56for businesses that are accessible.
- 3:58So it's accessible businesses from all abilities and
- 4:01disabilities. That feature is really
- 4:03interesting. It gives you a detailed view of
- 4:06a business before you visit it. So say say you have an autistic
- 4:09child and you want to take them to the dentist, or you take them
- 4:12to the hairdressers or you going to a grocery store.
- 4:15But what you don't want to do surprise them, just drop it on
- 4:17them. What you can actually do with
- 4:18Able View is look at the business before and has pictures
- 4:21inside. Maybe that shows you a video to
- 4:23that has all of these cool things.
- 4:25Which is a tip that I put in videos years ago, but this is
- 4:28now a website that does it. So you can actually go and get a
- 4:30free account from ableview.com right now.
- 4:32I think this is amazing. It's actually so groundbreaking.
- 4:35It's scary. Like like seriously scary.
- 4:39OK, so the last one I want to talk about, and this is kind of
- 4:41like a bonusy one. This is not really an app.
- 4:43This is absolutely amazing. This is a board game called the
- 4:46Affinity Board Game and it's made by autistic individuals for
- 4:50artistic individuals. And I love ball games, I love
- 4:53Dungeons and Dragons, Talisman, I love kind of settles of Catan,
- 4:56all the kind of things. Because I'm a traditional game
- 4:58of IPG now, a bunch of artistic individuals came together and
- 5:01like, hey, we love games, we love RPG, we love board games.
- 5:04Why don't make a game that we can learn and we can do, we can
- 5:07thrive within a board game. So they've come up with
- 5:09infinityboardgame.com and go there.
- 5:11Now I think it's in the Kickstarter phase.
- 5:14So you guys are getting some really good exclusives.
- 5:15Like nobody's ever seen these things before.
- 5:17This is why this video is so important now.
- 5:19Definitely go check them out. If you want to support that
- 5:21Kickstarter, definitely do it. I wouldn't know which one of
- 5:24these is most exciting to you. Is it the dating potential
- 5:29through an app? Is it the accessible businesses?
- 5:32Drop me a comment down below and let me know which one is your
- 5:34favorite, but don't forget to check out Collage and sign up
- 5:37for the waiting list. If you're watching this and it's
- 5:39still in development, I really want you guys to have first dibs
- 5:43on this app. It's actually amazing and it's
- 5:44going to be fantastic when it is out, especially for building
- 5:47community and friends. Guys, this would be awesome.
- 5:50If you want to share this video because you feel like it's
- 5:52valuable for people, please do on social media and I'll see you
- 5:55in the next one. Peace.
- 5:59Hey guys, thank you so much for checking out this podcast.
