- 0:00SPEAKER_04: Welcome to another installment of Gas Money.
- 0:12SPEAKER_03: We got Toon in his living room.
- 0:15SPEAKER_03: Actually, I'm in my bedroom.
- 0:18SPEAKER_03: But we also have Ace in the building.
- 0:21SPEAKER_03: Well, in his living room.
- 0:29SPEAKER_01: I'm like, who am I in the building?
- 0:32SPEAKER_01: Along with me.
- 0:33SPEAKER_00: Well, back to AG.
- 0:37SPEAKER_00: Who you meant to say.
- 0:39SPEAKER_04: Thank you.
- 0:40SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I'm uh I'm on the private island, you know.
- 0:43SPEAKER_01: It's funny, as soon as you hit that record button, the nerve settings sometimes start bad with bullshit.
- 0:50SPEAKER_01: It's natural.
- 0:51SPEAKER_01: It's on the bottom.
- 0:53SPEAKER_01: I'm nervous because I know it's forever.
- 1:00SPEAKER_04: If a bear shits in the woods and nobody smells it, then the bear shit in the woods.
- 1:05SPEAKER_04: No.
- 1:06SPEAKER_04: Yes.
- 1:08SPEAKER_01: Well because the fact of the statement was if a bear shits in the woods.
- 1:13SPEAKER_00: Yeah, if nobody's there, like the question is, does it smell?
- 1:18SPEAKER_00: It exists.
- 1:20SPEAKER_01: Can't smell it, nobody can smell it.
- 1:22SPEAKER_01: No, no, no, no, no.
- 1:23SPEAKER_01: Does it exist or can you smell it?
- 1:24SPEAKER_01: Is the question?
- 1:25SPEAKER_01: Can you smell it?
- 1:26SPEAKER_01: Can you smell it?
- 1:27SPEAKER_01: Should be the question.
- 1:28SPEAKER_01: There you go.
- 1:29SPEAKER_00: No.
- 1:29SPEAKER_01: Well, you definitely can't.
- 1:31SPEAKER_01: You can't.
- 1:31SPEAKER_01: It's COVID.
- 1:32SPEAKER_01: There you go.
- 1:34SPEAKER_01: Can't see it, can't smell it.
- 1:35SPEAKER_01: But it's killing you.
- 1:37SPEAKER_01: So is it?
- 1:37SPEAKER_04: Oh, yeah, yeah.
- 1:38SPEAKER_04: Bearish is probably nasty.
- 1:40SPEAKER_04: You're right about that.
- 1:41SPEAKER_04: But how's your guys' uh last couple days has been under this quarantine shit?
- 1:48SPEAKER_04: The same as last 28?
- 1:51SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 1:53SPEAKER_03: Honestly, not getting it's actually getting harder, believe it or not.
- 1:56SPEAKER_03: I'm tired.
- 1:58SPEAKER_03: I think I'm an introvert, man.
- 2:00SPEAKER_03: Nah, I like this shit.
- 2:01SPEAKER_00: Going outside.
- 2:02SPEAKER_00: I haven't really left the house in like a month, really.
- 2:04SPEAKER_03: Yeah, me neither.
- 2:06SPEAKER_04: Oh, y'all grocery shopping?
- 2:08SPEAKER_00: Well, I haven't been.
- 2:09SPEAKER_00: My sisters go.
- 2:11SPEAKER_03: Oh, okay, okay.
- 2:12SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I kind of got the same situation.
- 2:15SPEAKER_04: The grocery shopping helps.
- 2:16SPEAKER_04: It cuts like the mundane of getting up and going back to sleep every day.
- 2:21SPEAKER_00: Yeah, we eat well, so we're eating reading well.
- 2:24SPEAKER_01: Absolutely.
- 2:25SPEAKER_01: I'm in a Dominican household eating very well.
- 2:27SPEAKER_01: Oh, that's a lot of sense.
- 2:29SPEAKER_03: That's great.
- 2:30SPEAKER_03: I chose the wrong time to move out.
- 2:36SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I'm out here just like eating like a bachelor, which isn't a lot.
- 2:40SPEAKER_03: Peanuts and sweets.
- 2:44SPEAKER_00: They went to a supermarket the other day, like all the ramen noodles were gone.
- 2:47SPEAKER_00: I'm like, dang.
- 2:48SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 2:48SPEAKER_03: All the single people.
- 2:50SPEAKER_03: Us bachelors are struggling out here.
- 2:52SPEAKER_00: Hey, that one dollar meal.
- 2:55SPEAKER_04: Yeah, that's that's some fucked up shit.
- 2:57SPEAKER_04: That's a lot of sodium in that shit, man.
- 2:59SPEAKER_01: Yeah, bad sodium.
- 3:00SPEAKER_00: That's all it is.
- 3:01SPEAKER_00: Sodium and a cup.
- 3:02SPEAKER_01: Now you're gonna be feeling faint, getting headaches and shit.
- 3:05SPEAKER_01: Be like, yo, corona or sodium?
- 3:06SPEAKER_01: Which one?
- 3:07SPEAKER_00: Which killing?
- 3:08SPEAKER_00: High blood pressure.
- 3:09SPEAKER_04: Yeah, that's still the number one killer of the black man.
- 3:13SPEAKER_04: Nah, sugar.
- 3:14SPEAKER_04: Naggie.
- 3:16SPEAKER_00: Sugar and salt.
- 3:17SPEAKER_04: Sugar and salt.
- 3:18SPEAKER_00: Sugar and salt.
- 3:19SPEAKER_04: I think it's nagging.
- 3:20SPEAKER_04: I think nagging is number one.
- 3:22SPEAKER_04: Everything your woman is.
- 3:24SPEAKER_04: Exactly.
- 3:26SPEAKER_04: But uh, is there any new Ronal news?
- 3:29SPEAKER_04: What's going on in the ethosphere?
- 3:32SPEAKER_03: Oh my god, so much.
- 3:35SPEAKER_01: We finally come down from this apex.
- 3:37SPEAKER_01: You think so, or is that a fact?
- 3:40SPEAKER_01: So uh the only facts we have are the facts that we're being quote unquote told, but uh Cuomo seems to have been uh very transparent through these times, I must say.
- 3:50SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I thought it was a good thing.
- 3:51SPEAKER_01: Didn't know much about him, but we're seeing him so often you kind of feel like you know him.
- 3:55SPEAKER_01: He's like a um one of your uncles that you just started speaking to.
- 3:59SPEAKER_01: Yeah, every morning.
- 4:02SPEAKER_01: Yeah, man.
- 4:03SPEAKER_01: Facts.
- 4:04SPEAKER_01: But he's doing a good job of breaking down what the statistics mean, how they gather how they acquire them, so you just understand where he's coming from when you hear new statistics daily.
- 4:15SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 4:16SPEAKER_01: So that that's pretty impressive.
- 4:18SPEAKER_01: Have the numbers of deaths been going backwards yet?
- 4:21SPEAKER_01: Um, not yet.
- 4:22SPEAKER_01: That's what he was speaking on this morning.
- 4:25SPEAKER_01: That what they consider to be a decline from their scale, it shows like a 0.8.
- 4:30SPEAKER_01: So we're between 0.8 and coming down from 1.2 volume of infection or uh recorded infections.
- 4:39SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 4:40SPEAKER_01: And we need to stay on the decline.
- 4:42SPEAKER_01: But if we don't stay on the decline when they show us the charts again and we see anything going from like point what they're considering 0.8 to anything like 1.2, then we're retreating back to where we were a month and a half ago.
- 4:55SPEAKER_01: Wow when they were stating that we're at the apex.
- 4:58SPEAKER_01: Because now they're showing um each day the the deaths, the death rate is uh lower uh decreasing, the um hospitalization is decreasing, and whatever else they're calculating, they're showing decreasing.
- 5:14SPEAKER_01: I don't have the charts out of that.
- 5:15SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I know they said like the number of 911 calls sort of went back to the normal rate.
- 5:21SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 5:23SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 5:23SPEAKER_04: I want to um give a uh RIP out to uh Fred DeGazon, you know, New York City native Bronx rapper.
- 5:31SPEAKER_04: Um I was following his story pretty closely, and I just realized that once you get put on these ventilators, it seems like it's that's pretty much it.
- 5:43SPEAKER_00: Yeah, once you go once you're to that point, it's not very I mean, it depends.
- 5:48SPEAKER_01: It's not a very good outlook because there's some people who are fortunate enough to have some sort of respirator machine at home, and those people, if they don't have to go into the hospital, are the ones that are recovering, uh have a better percentage of recovery.
- 6:01SPEAKER_01: Yeah, okay.
- 6:02SPEAKER_00: It's just I feel like all that medicine isn't helping because that respiratory.
- 6:06SPEAKER_00: All that medicine, yeah, yeah.
- 6:08SPEAKER_00: They don't really really know they don't really know how to treat it, so it's like right now they're just learning as they go.
- 6:13SPEAKER_04: Yeah, that's some scary shit, man.
- 6:16SPEAKER_04: Prayers go out to his family, though.
- 6:17SPEAKER_04: I know he has a wife.
- 6:18SPEAKER_04: I don't know if he has any kids, but I know he definitely has a wife.
- 6:20SPEAKER_03: I think he has a daughter, I think.
- 6:23SPEAKER_03: Yeah, prayers go out to them.
- 6:25SPEAKER_00: I know I saw his like Instagram post when he was hospitalized.
- 6:28SPEAKER_00: I'm like, dang.
- 6:29SPEAKER_01: Yeah, he was pretty strong through all the time.
- 6:32SPEAKER_00: Coming back out.
- 6:33SPEAKER_01: I didn't know who he was uh until I saw that he passed away.
- 6:37SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 6:38SPEAKER_04: If you give me some backstory to him, he came up in like 2011.
- 6:43SPEAKER_04: That's when I first uh noticed him.
- 6:45SPEAKER_04: He actually used to be on Steinway a lot.
- 6:47SPEAKER_04: I've seen him a couple times on Steinway Street.
- 6:49SPEAKER_04: Oh, really?
- 6:51SPEAKER_04: I've seen him a couple times.
- 6:52SPEAKER_04: But um, yeah, he's a pretty well-known local.
- 6:55SPEAKER_04: Yeah, from all accounts, he's a pretty good dude.
- 6:57SPEAKER_04: He's like very into hip hop.
- 6:59SPEAKER_04: He was a rapper's rapper, like he was, you know, about the farms.
- 7:01SPEAKER_04: Okay, okay.
- 7:02SPEAKER_04: You know, um, but yeah, 2011 was like his breakout year.
- 7:05SPEAKER_04: He made the cover of uh Double XL, and uh that was the same year, Meek Mill, um, who else was on there?
- 7:12SPEAKER_04: Uh Sahara Prince.
- 7:13SPEAKER_04: Yeah, a couple of big guys was on there.
- 7:15SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 7:15SPEAKER_04: So he's definitely on that one, too.
- 7:17SPEAKER_04: Yeah, Kendrick.
- 7:18SPEAKER_04: So he's definitely respected by his peers and the industry.
- 7:21SPEAKER_04: He just, you know, never had like a super big hit record.
- 7:23SPEAKER_04: And he was okay with that in terms of you know, he's a rapper's rapper, so it was all about the bars.
- 7:28SPEAKER_04: It wasn't really about the you know selling a million records.
- 7:30SPEAKER_04: Everybody wants to sell a million records, but he he was good being known as everybody respected his pen.
- 7:35SPEAKER_04: So he he was cool with that.
- 7:38SPEAKER_04: Yeah, but um on a lighter note, did you guys hear what uh Donald Trump had to say?
- 7:43SPEAKER_04: Oh, yeah, we heard your president.
- 7:45SPEAKER_01: That's your president before we play ourselves as a podcast.
- 7:49SPEAKER_01: Did you hear what he says, or did you hear what he was supposedly saying?
- 7:54SPEAKER_00: It's not supposed to be he was he tried to backpedal and say he was being sarcastic, but that's I just want to know are you still voting for him?
- 8:02SPEAKER_04: Listen, he knows where the White House is.
- 8:06SPEAKER_04: That should be the first criterion of whether or not he can be president.
- 8:10SPEAKER_05: You following his advice as a president?
- 8:16SPEAKER_00: Right now, listen, first of all, I'm but no, but seriously, like you see the danger of his words, like and people actually fucking did it.
- 8:23SPEAKER_00: Like just because they were hospitalized and you know, had to call an ambulance because people are dumb enough to do it.
- 8:29SPEAKER_00: So, like true president doing all that shit.
- 8:32SPEAKER_00: I think come on, that's dangerous.
- 8:34SPEAKER_01: I'm shaking my head in disbelief of people that dumb, but then uh again, we're talking about humans here.
- 8:44SPEAKER_00: Absolutely.
- 8:45SPEAKER_00: Still, like the president shouldn't have the power of his somebody say something.
- 8:56SPEAKER_01: No, I said on a more serious note, from what I heard um from President Trump himself, like it sounded like he was just going uh doing like a back and forth with someone who he was getting information from and was trying to basically get them into the conversation more than him recommending you inject yourself with detergent.
- 9:14SPEAKER_01: Because from what I understand, the virus has what happened.
- 9:20SPEAKER_01: It's just so funny.
- 9:22SPEAKER_01: Because the virus, the virus that they're giving has uh like detergent qualities in it, but it's not saying I don't I didn't get from what he said, yeah.
- 9:33SPEAKER_01: That's exactly why he said that having different systems.
- 9:39SPEAKER_01: All I know is But he wasn't saying for people to go on Clorox and inject it into the system, he was talking about the qualities of the chase the uh the uh I don't think antivioles soap bleach as well with bleach.
- 9:53SPEAKER_03: I'm not taking that, I'm not taking that straight.
- 9:55SPEAKER_03: I need a chase it with that word lifold.
- 9:58SPEAKER_01: He didn't say nowhere did he say inject yourself with Clorox to see if it works.
- 10:02SPEAKER_01: I didn't see that.
- 10:04SPEAKER_00: He was talking about UV light, he's talking about light, all that stuff.
- 10:06SPEAKER_01: He was trying when he was talking about disinfectants, disinfectants.
- 10:11SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that's what he said.
- 10:12SPEAKER_01: He definitely said that.
- 10:13SPEAKER_01: When he was talking about the UV light thing, he was trying to explain um what what it is.
- 10:17SPEAKER_00: He shouldn't be trying to explain shit.
- 10:19SPEAKER_00: He's not a doctor, he's not a scientist.
- 10:21SPEAKER_01: Again, he doesn't know how to explain chemotherapy.
- 10:24SPEAKER_01: Because I'm telling you what I saw versus what I see CNN saying, and I've never seen it at this rate before.
- 10:29SPEAKER_01: Like the news is really like turning shit right in front of your face.
- 10:33SPEAKER_00: It's not turning shit, they have the videos.
- 10:35SPEAKER_01: I saw the video, and I'm telling you, the man looks like he was trying to get information from somebody who had a conversation with that.
- 10:41SPEAKER_01: He doesn't know what he's talking about, people try to put him into it.
- 10:44SPEAKER_04: He fucked up.
- 10:47SPEAKER_01: He absolutely did.
- 10:48SPEAKER_04: All right, but my man.
- 10:53SPEAKER_04: He knows where the White House is, he knows where the buttons are.
- 10:57SPEAKER_03: I'm impressed though.
- 10:58SPEAKER_03: Anybody with the ability to say whatever the fuck with cameras rolling is a gangster.
- 11:05SPEAKER_00: He constantly says, I didn't say that, I didn't say that, and then they have video clips of everything he says, like, bro, we have you want video saying this.
- 11:13SPEAKER_04: Does he know he's the president?
- 11:14SPEAKER_04: Yeah, he does.
- 11:15SPEAKER_04: He that's why he's doing whatever he wants to do.
- 11:17SPEAKER_04: I'm not supporting it, but like I said, it's a lot better than a nigga that doesn't know where the White House is, all right?
- 11:24SPEAKER_04: Joe Biden does not know where the White House is sleepy Joe.
- 11:30SPEAKER_04: I'm telling you, that shit is real, so but all right, I can vote how y'all gonna vote.
- 11:34SPEAKER_04: I'm just saying, I'm not voting, period.
- 11:36SPEAKER_04: So don't listen to little nah.
- 11:38SPEAKER_01: You was talking the shit like you voting for somebody else, you said.
- 11:42SPEAKER_00: We live in New York, so it's not that dramatic.
- 11:44SPEAKER_01: It is what it is.
- 11:45SPEAKER_00: We're not a swing state.
- 11:47SPEAKER_03: You gotta vote, man.
- 11:49SPEAKER_03: For what your ancestors fought for this.
- 11:52SPEAKER_03: Oh, come on now.
- 11:54SPEAKER_03: He's right, he's right now, you gotta do it.
- 11:56SPEAKER_04: I'm gonna vote.
- 11:57SPEAKER_04: I voted local elections, man.
- 11:59SPEAKER_04: That's what I'm doing.
- 12:00SPEAKER_04: No, you didn't.
- 12:03SPEAKER_04: So I'm going to, I'm going to.
- 12:08SPEAKER_01: For the conversation.
- 12:09SPEAKER_01: No, no, not at all.
- 12:10SPEAKER_01: So do we have any other uh COVID?
- 12:12SPEAKER_01: If we didn't live in a swing state, who would you vote for knowing that your vote counts?
- 12:17SPEAKER_01: Joe Biden.
- 12:19SPEAKER_01: Andrew Cuomo.
- 12:21SPEAKER_01: That's a fact.
- 12:22SPEAKER_03: I'll write that shit down.
- 12:23SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I'll just write it in the ballot, honestly.
- 12:25SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I don't think he was he was he said like he's not very interested in.
- 12:28SPEAKER_01: And ladies and gentlemen, what AG did was a sidestep.
- 12:31SPEAKER_01: Sidestepping all the way.
- 12:37SPEAKER_00: He's gonna write it right in his vote.
- 12:40SPEAKER_03: He doesn't support Trump no more.
- 12:42SPEAKER_03: He said the stupid shit.
- 12:43SPEAKER_03: I never said that, right?
- 12:46SPEAKER_04: I never said I supported Trump.
- 12:47SPEAKER_04: I said if I had to choose between Trump and a nigga that does not know that he's running for president, I'll choose Trump.
- 12:55SPEAKER_04: That's all I said.
- 12:56SPEAKER_04: I think we need to remind it.
- 13:01SPEAKER_00: I think that's what he said.
- 13:02SPEAKER_04: That's exactly what I said.
- 13:03SPEAKER_04: Come on, man.
- 13:04SPEAKER_01: I'm not gonna argue with the the lady podcast.
- 13:06SPEAKER_00: No, I just because I remember I was like, I just remember saying I can't like forget all the stuff that he's done, especially to people coloring all the pain that he's caused.
- 13:15SPEAKER_00: I can't I can't do it.
- 13:16SPEAKER_04: I don't think she's wrong about that.
- 13:17SPEAKER_04: I don't think she's wrong about that.
- 13:18SPEAKER_04: I think that's that's a fair argument.
- 13:21SPEAKER_04: Smart man.
- 13:22SPEAKER_04: But when we in war and the button gotta be pressed, what's gonna happen?
- 13:30SPEAKER_00: You got what I'm saying?
- 13:31SPEAKER_00: Like, so it's not to me, it's not as dramatic as it seems.
- 13:34SPEAKER_00: It's not like he's a dictator with freaking uncontrolled power, but that's not how this country works.
- 13:40SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I know, you know, so there's a whole bunch of people behind him, whether or not he has some sense or not.
- 13:46SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 13:46SPEAKER_00: Yeah, you laugh as you know because you know what's gonna happen, but you know, that's for me.
- 13:53SPEAKER_00: It's like you know, it takes a whole lot of people to run this country, so I think we'll be okay.
- 13:57SPEAKER_04: That's definitely true.
- 13:58SPEAKER_04: And I think uh Biden's gonna have uh a black woman as his running mate.
- 14:02SPEAKER_04: I don't know how easy he is.
- 14:04SPEAKER_04: Now he's not playing fair.
- 14:05SPEAKER_04: That's true.
- 14:06SPEAKER_00: Yeah, he said he was gonna pick a woman.
- 14:08SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I think he's gonna have a black woman.
- 14:10SPEAKER_01: He got a nice little cheat code right there.
- 14:12SPEAKER_01: The only way to swing the vote right now.
- 14:13SPEAKER_03: Yep, that's a nice little cheat code.
- 14:15SPEAKER_00: Well, who knows if that'll help him or her.
- 14:17SPEAKER_01: That's gonna hurt the only thing that's gonna happen.
- 14:19SPEAKER_01: Yeah, the middle of this country.
- 14:22SPEAKER_05: We call all kind of black features.
- 14:26SPEAKER_01: Yeah, hell no.
- 14:28SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna vote twice.
- 14:30SPEAKER_01: Yeah, they're about to go.
- 14:32SPEAKER_01: He can't vote for Trump's voters, he's gotta go for the people that's not gonna vote for Trump, just like us.
- 14:37SPEAKER_01: The people who are not sure and know that they don't like Biden are gonna go with Biden because of him uh electing a black woman.
- 14:44SPEAKER_01: A lot of people hate black women, man.
- 14:46SPEAKER_01: Tell you that right now.
- 14:47SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but they can't do that.
- 14:48SPEAKER_04: A lot of people love black women too.
- 14:51SPEAKER_04: Yeah, but voting is a private thing, bro.
- 14:53SPEAKER_04: Remember that.
- 14:54SPEAKER_04: Remember that.
- 14:55unknown: Uh-huh.
- 14:55SPEAKER_04: Voting is pretty private, so they could be in your face talking about yeah, black power, and then they're telling their people in the booth, like, yeah, I'm gonna vote Trump twice.
- 15:03SPEAKER_04: Because I ain't fuck with that black V-word.
- 15:06SPEAKER_01: Yeah, they start talking like that, it's a problem.
- 15:09SPEAKER_01: I think they listen to the podcast, then draw their conclusion.
- 15:12SPEAKER_03: All right, man.
- 15:14SPEAKER_03: We'll see what happens.
- 15:15SPEAKER_03: Tell you, we good.
- 15:18SPEAKER_01: Yeah, we got a lot of people like right across the board just being affected by this shit.
- 15:23SPEAKER_00: Like, it's gonna be an interesting fucking yeah.
- 15:26SPEAKER_01: Think about like the reservations right now that are all shut down, roads closed, they can't get nothing can come in, they can't go out.
- 15:33SPEAKER_01: Are you talking about the Native Americans?
- 15:35SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yes.
- 15:36SPEAKER_04: Yeah, that's uh that's pretty scary, man.
- 15:40SPEAKER_01: Like there's a lot of funded funding that's supposed to be being sent to them that was already allocated to them, and they're not getting billions of dollars.
- 15:47SPEAKER_01: Oh wow back from them.
- 15:49SPEAKER_00: Well, they've used the government fucking them all.
- 15:52SPEAKER_01: Shh, yeah, that don't make it okay.
- 15:55SPEAKER_00: Of course it doesn't make it, it doesn't make it okay because this government doesn't come give a shit.
- 15:59SPEAKER_01: Like with that shit as well.
- 16:00SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's fucked up.
- 16:01SPEAKER_00: Those people go through those people go through so damn much.
- 16:04SPEAKER_01: You have two billion put aside for help, and you get none of it.
- 16:09SPEAKER_01: Yeah, none of it and everybody around you is dying.
- 16:12SPEAKER_04: I want to ask you guys a question because I was having this uh conversation with my mom on my way home from the grocery store.
- 16:18SPEAKER_01: Did she hit you with anything on the on the way?
- 16:20SPEAKER_04: No, no, no, it was it was a pretty positive conversation.
- 16:23SPEAKER_01: So yeah, a healthy family?
- 16:25SPEAKER_01: What the fuck's wrong with you?
- 16:27SPEAKER_04: I don't know, it's just this couple of weeks, man.
- 16:30SPEAKER_04: Don't worry, it's about to it's about to snap back.
- 16:33SPEAKER_04: But um I was just talking about how you know the government is giving out all this money, and inflation is probably one of the scarier things that I like kind of thought about because during uh World War II, I remember reading that uh it was either Russia or Germany that to buy a loaf of bread, they had to take wheelbarrows full of money just to purchase like everyday home groceries because how much the money did it mean shit because of the government just kept printing it.
- 17:00SPEAKER_04: And I feel like we are we are getting close.
- 17:03SPEAKER_00: My sister said it was Germany.
- 17:05SPEAKER_04: Yeah, thank you.
- 17:06SPEAKER_04: So I I just I I don't know, it's kind of bothering me that there's gonna there's all these stimuluses being passed, and uh Canada they get what is it, two grand a month on top of no rent and no mortgage need to be paid.
- 17:21SPEAKER_04: I just feel like inflation is like the next level of pandemic for me personally.
- 17:26SPEAKER_04: Like when money starts to lose its value, that's when people are gonna start looting people's homes for goods and things like that.
- 17:33SPEAKER_04: And living in New York, you know, we have no weaponry, well, legal weaponry.
- 17:38SPEAKER_04: So, like, how do you guys feel about the attack of inflation?
- 17:41SPEAKER_00: I saw on the news that four guys were arrested um for try like trying to steal a woman's stimulus check.
- 17:48SPEAKER_03: Oh, yeah, I've seen that too.
- 17:50SPEAKER_00: Yeah, you saw that the money?
- 17:51SPEAKER_00: I was like, wow.
- 17:53SPEAKER_01: But if people look at the money, uh in regards to inflation, I think we're far away from that right now because remember, the only reason our dollars worth the fuck is because of our military.
- 18:05SPEAKER_01: And at the moment, even though we're going through a pen a global pandemic, um, our military isn't isn't showing any signs of weakening.
- 18:13SPEAKER_00: Well, they spent all the money on our tax money on it.
- 18:16SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but what I'm saying is our fund our backing, the backing of our dollar is still strong.
- 18:22SPEAKER_01: What's what's fucked up right now is our economy.
- 18:25SPEAKER_01: Like even the stock market.
- 18:27SPEAKER_01: The company in the stock market, the companies that you think is like a a lifeline company to be with, like an oil company, those are the ones that are hurting badly because there's no travel, there's no vacation, there's no flying, there's no ships going anywhere.
- 18:42SPEAKER_01: And Russia, like I said before, um Russia and Saudi Arabia are just cranking out oil.
- 18:48SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 18:49SPEAKER_04: So do you when do you think we should start worrying about inflation?
- 18:53SPEAKER_01: Because you know, um, we should start we should start worrying if they continue this um lockdown further than Halloween.
- 19:04SPEAKER_03: God damn.
- 19:06SPEAKER_03: Now we're not out of the house.
- 19:10SPEAKER_01: Now, if we're not out of the house, if we're not out of the house by June, we we seriously have some problems that uh we're not being told about.
- 19:17SPEAKER_01: Or that problems are worse than we're being told.
- 19:21SPEAKER_04: Okay, how do you guys feel about a second wave in the fall on this corona?
- 19:26SPEAKER_01: Uh hired I know that you ain't staying in the house next time.
- 19:31SPEAKER_01: That's as soon as we're released, everybody's gonna gather the things that they needed this time to put it aside.
- 19:37SPEAKER_00: That's just a scary thing though, but still not staying inside.
- 19:40SPEAKER_00: We don't freaking know what the future looks like right now.
- 19:43SPEAKER_00: Yeah, some states are opening up.
- 19:45SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah, I think that that's crazy.
- 19:48SPEAKER_03: I think they have no choice.
- 19:49SPEAKER_00: People are like, let them do it first and we'll watch, see what happens.
- 19:53SPEAKER_04: I think the uh New York is gonna be the last state that gets opened up.
- 19:56SPEAKER_00: Oh, for sure, because our governor does not play around.
- 19:59SPEAKER_01: It's not only that, our population is crazy.
- 20:02SPEAKER_00: Obviously, yeah, we were the we were hit the mo the hardest.
- 20:05SPEAKER_01: Population per square footage is the issue.
- 20:07SPEAKER_00: Of course, of course.
- 20:09SPEAKER_00: I understand that, but our governor takes it way more seriously than because it's true, like certain places don't need to open.
- 20:15SPEAKER_00: Like, I understand, like, if you want to reopen slowly, but certain places like don't need to open that quickly.
- 20:21SPEAKER_01: They're making sure Orchard Beach and Click and all the beaches are um not accessible for anybody to go in early or late.
- 20:29SPEAKER_03: I live I I follow somebody that lives in Florida and they're all at the beach right now.
- 20:34SPEAKER_03: I'm not even lying to you.
- 20:35SPEAKER_03: I couldn't believe it.
- 20:36SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's open.
- 20:37SPEAKER_01: And those are the places that I don't think they're able to really hold the people in the houses if they wanted to.
- 20:44SPEAKER_01: New York and places like here, it's easier to for them to lock us down.
- 20:48SPEAKER_04: Yeah, expand on that.
- 20:50SPEAKER_04: What makes that?
- 20:50SPEAKER_04: What causes that?
- 20:52SPEAKER_01: I mean, they have a lot more space per person.
- 20:55SPEAKER_01: Uh like again, for us, we're all on top of each other, and the places that we can go, the options are limited.
- 21:01SPEAKER_01: And those options aren't uh able um easily accessible.
- 21:05SPEAKER_01: So if they want us to lock down Jones Beach or Orchard Beach, it's really easy for them.
- 21:09SPEAKER_01: As opposed to California, there's no way you're locking off that border.
- 21:12SPEAKER_01: Look at the Mexican, the Mexicans that cross the border or illegals, I should say.
- 21:16SPEAKER_01: They cross the border at Cali every day.
- 21:18SPEAKER_01: They got they got no illegals.
- 21:22SPEAKER_04: I mean PC.
- 21:23SPEAKER_04: Call them what they are.
- 21:24SPEAKER_00: No person is illegal.
- 21:28SPEAKER_05: It wasn't illegal, man.
- 21:29SPEAKER_00: So I think it's we all inhabitants of this earth.
- 21:32SPEAKER_02: If you ain't got papers in America, you're considered illegal.
- 21:35SPEAKER_00: Now you undocumented.
- 21:36SPEAKER_00: Which is illegal.
- 21:39SPEAKER_04: So it's all semantic, I guess.
- 21:42SPEAKER_04: It's impossible to be illegal, man.
- 21:44SPEAKER_04: I ain't a firearm.
- 21:45SPEAKER_04: Feel me?
- 21:47SPEAKER_01: That's a very, you know But look, how you look trying to tell Texans tell Texans that they can't come out their house and they got all the weapons.
- 21:56SPEAKER_04: That's a fact.
- 21:58SPEAKER_04: And they got tigers too.
- 21:59SPEAKER_04: Don't forget that.
- 21:59SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 22:00SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 22:01SPEAKER_04: Don't forget that.
- 22:07SPEAKER_04: Um, how do you guys feel about well?
- 22:10SPEAKER_04: Have you guys been paying attention to uh North Korea?
- 22:13SPEAKER_04: Uh yeah, actually.
- 22:15SPEAKER_04: To what north North Korea.
- 22:17SPEAKER_04: Oh Kim Jong un reportedly dead.
- 22:20SPEAKER_05: I don't believe it.
- 22:22SPEAKER_05: No, King.
- 22:24SPEAKER_05: I can't use this phone.
- 22:28SPEAKER_00: She she like was um hearing the news and she's like, Do you know Kim Jujin and Chinch UN?
- 22:33SPEAKER_00: I'm like, what?
- 22:34SPEAKER_00: Kim Jong Jung That's a fact.
- 22:36SPEAKER_04: That's how that should sound to me.
- 22:37SPEAKER_04: I'm reading this and I can't even read it.
- 22:40SPEAKER_04: Kim Jong-un.
- 22:42SPEAKER_01: Kim Jong-un, supposedly uh dead from botched heart surgery.
- 22:46SPEAKER_01: Now hold on, hold on.
- 22:47SPEAKER_04: His sister's name is Kim Yo Jong.
- 22:51SPEAKER_04: Kim Yo Jong, yeah.
- 22:52SPEAKER_04: And she's supposed to be his uh successor.
- 22:55SPEAKER_04: Evil sister.
- 22:57SPEAKER_01: Oh supposedly more powerful than evil sister.
- 23:01SPEAKER_04: Yeah, so I brought this up because it's very challenging on Twitter right now, because the the world is split on Twitter.
- 23:07SPEAKER_04: So half of Twitter is like, she's like this icon of woman power, and I think she's a lesbian too.
- 23:14SPEAKER_04: So they're like, oh yeah, like go girl, and they're comparing her to um Azula from um The Last Airbender, like she was this badass, you know, character, Asian, of course.
- 23:25SPEAKER_04: And people are like yeah, people are really riding behind her, like, yo, she's about to, you know, represent.
- 23:30SPEAKER_04: Like I even saw a tweet that said, How does North Korea get a woman president before any of these progressive, so-called progressive countries like America, yeah, you know, Canada, and shit like that?
- 23:39SPEAKER_00: That's a good point.
- 23:41SPEAKER_04: But then on the flip side, she was sitting by while this dude was, you know, killing his people by the hundreds.
- 23:47SPEAKER_04: And apparently, I don't know how they would notice, but apparently she's even more vindictive and evil than he is, or he was.
- 23:53SPEAKER_04: So I just wanted to know how do you guys feel about this?
- 23:57SPEAKER_04: Like, do you think that this is gonna change the world?
- 23:59SPEAKER_04: Because remember, he was in direct well, indirect conflict with America because he was like, you know, starting up his nuclear program and he wasn't scared to like, you know, aim his nukes over here and stuff like that.
- 24:09SPEAKER_01: Well, I think that this is the worst thing for Trump because he cannot take his grab her by the pussy approach with this woman.
- 24:16SPEAKER_00: Bam.
- 24:18SPEAKER_01: She will she will seek havoc.
- 24:20SPEAKER_01: She will wreak havoc on us because of that bullet.
- 24:24SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I think that's true.
- 24:25SPEAKER_04: Um, Trump has to tread lightly.
- 24:28SPEAKER_04: She's a woman in power.
- 24:29SPEAKER_04: You know, I'm all for the I bet you he won't go to North Korea no more.
- 24:34SPEAKER_03: This is all a rumor.
- 24:35SPEAKER_00: Yeah, exactly.
- 24:36SPEAKER_00: There's like it's like it's sort of like unconfirmed, or like there was I read that like the central intelligence agents don't believe it's true.
- 24:44SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I mean TMZ.
- 24:46SPEAKER_01: We haven't seen a video from him right already, so uh TMZ reported it.
- 24:49SPEAKER_01: Yeah, they're the grim reaper.
- 24:51SPEAKER_04: TMZ knows they are pretty good, they're bad in 100 right now.
- 24:54SPEAKER_04: That shit is disgusting.
- 24:57SPEAKER_04: TMZ knows when you're gonna die before you die.
- 25:00SPEAKER_01: I don't even want to give that laugh right now, but it's true.
- 25:03SPEAKER_01: It's true.
- 25:04SPEAKER_01: That's scary.
- 25:06SPEAKER_04: I've seen a headline right now that said AG TMZ found.
- 25:11SPEAKER_04: I'm looking over my shoulder like that.
- 25:13SPEAKER_04: TMC's the new minority reporting.
- 25:15SPEAKER_04: This is yeah, that's a fact.
- 25:17SPEAKER_04: I don't know what type of technology they got, but that shit is scary, man.
- 25:24SPEAKER_04: I'm telling you, this shit is scary.
- 25:25SPEAKER_04: The whole world is getting shooken up.
- 25:27SPEAKER_04: I feel like if she's in power, um, I don't know, man.
- 25:31SPEAKER_04: I this this there's a lot of like warfare possibilities in the world.
- 25:36SPEAKER_04: And I remember what was it, like a couple of was it a year ago, a couple of months ago, they were talking about the draft and shit like that.
- 25:42SPEAKER_04: Like, you know, I I don't I don't know if those things are even possible anymore.
- 25:46SPEAKER_04: What but uh a draft?
- 25:48SPEAKER_04: Yeah, that that's excuse me.
- 25:50SPEAKER_04: I ain't gonna lie.
- 25:50SPEAKER_01: Oh no, it depends on the president, right?
- 25:53SPEAKER_01: No, I thought it was illegal.
- 25:54SPEAKER_01: I thought they outlawed it, but it is unless the president uh implements it again.
- 25:59SPEAKER_01: So sleepy can made a jail.
- 26:02SPEAKER_04: How long is jail time?
- 26:04SPEAKER_00: That makes it sleep.
- 26:05SPEAKER_04: How long is the jail time?
- 26:06SPEAKER_04: I think it's a year.
- 26:08SPEAKER_04: Uh take me to jail.
- 26:09SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I think it's a year.
- 26:11SPEAKER_04: Take me to jail?
- 26:12SPEAKER_04: Take me to jail.
- 26:14SPEAKER_04: I'm spiking my life in there before I fight this country.
- 26:20SPEAKER_04: You've never been to the Koreans.
- 26:21SPEAKER_04: You don't want to go to the I'll be fine.
- 26:23SPEAKER_04: I'll think of jail as a vacation.
- 26:24SPEAKER_03: I'll come back brolic.
- 26:26SPEAKER_03: Nah, I don't know.
- 26:26SPEAKER_04: And gay, don't look at the gay part.
- 26:28SPEAKER_04: Three hot to the cock in jail.
- 26:29SPEAKER_04: I'll be fine.
- 26:30SPEAKER_04: It's three hot to the cock.
- 26:32SPEAKER_04: Hey, yo, that's what it is.
- 26:41SPEAKER_04: That's jail, it ain't no gay in jail.
- 26:44SPEAKER_04: Nigga, there's literally a thing called gay for the state in jail.
- 26:47SPEAKER_04: I've I've heard it myself.
- 26:49SPEAKER_04: Yeah, bro.
- 26:50SPEAKER_04: Y'all keep getting out of Juvie, man.
- 26:51SPEAKER_03: Put me a PC.
- 26:53SPEAKER_04: I'll be fine.
- 26:55SPEAKER_04: Gotta be a rat to go there, boy.
- 26:56SPEAKER_01: Nah, I'm good for that.
- 27:01SPEAKER_01: You ain't going to jail for that draft, man.
- 27:02SPEAKER_01: They're just gonna, they're just gonna tell you, like, uh, you gotta stay in your house or you come fight with us because everybody's gonna be on lockdown.
- 27:10SPEAKER_03: I'll be like, fine.
- 27:11SPEAKER_03: Let me go to college out of boredom.
- 27:13SPEAKER_01: I'm going to fight that war.
- 27:15SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
- 27:16SPEAKER_01: So they know exactly how it'll be.
- 27:18SPEAKER_03: See, in barbecue, I got asthma and I'm overweight.
- 27:22SPEAKER_03: I can't go.
- 27:23SPEAKER_03: Those are old rules, bro.
- 27:24SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I don't think they'll let you out the house.
- 27:27SPEAKER_03: I'm all fucked up.
- 27:28SPEAKER_03: I can't do it.
- 27:28SPEAKER_03: And I got allergies.
- 27:30SPEAKER_00: I can't catch COVID.
- 27:30SPEAKER_00: I can't.
- 27:31SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I can't.
- 27:33unknown: Come on.
- 27:34SPEAKER_01: You heard about Miami?
- 27:35SPEAKER_01: No, what happened?
- 27:37SPEAKER_01: Pretty sure you've seen it.
- 27:38SPEAKER_01: They've gone seven straight weeks with uh without a single murder.
- 27:42SPEAKER_01: Miami?
- 27:43SPEAKER_05: Miami.
- 27:44SPEAKER_01: It's like that's the first time since 1957.
- 27:48SPEAKER_04: So you know why?
- 27:49SPEAKER_04: The coke ain't coming through.
- 27:52SPEAKER_04: That's the reason.
- 27:53SPEAKER_04: Wouldn't the murder go off because you want your shit?
- 27:56SPEAKER_04: Nah, niggas can't niggas not killing nobody over no there's no coke anymore.
- 28:00SPEAKER_04: So it's like, what are you talking about coke?
- 28:01SPEAKER_04: What are what are we killing each other for?
- 28:03SPEAKER_04: Like, let's wait till the bricks get here.
- 28:05SPEAKER_04: So you telling you telling me you cracked the code on now, a murder rate?
- 28:09SPEAKER_04: Yeah, it's all about drugs, man.
- 28:10SPEAKER_04: I was watching some shit and I was like, yo, oh, I was watching Extraction.
- 28:15SPEAKER_04: That's a good ass movie on Netflix.
- 28:17SPEAKER_04: I should check it out.
- 28:18SPEAKER_04: But um, and I realized that if we just legalize drugs, a lot of the shit that happens would not be happening.
- 28:26SPEAKER_04: Like, drug lords have so much power because what they're doing is so illegal that they can control so much wealth.
- 28:33SPEAKER_04: But if you made drugs legal, like if I can go and get a Coca-Cola marijuana cigarette, then what's the point?
- 28:40SPEAKER_04: Yep.
- 28:41SPEAKER_04: What's the point of a drug dealer?
- 28:43SPEAKER_04: You know what I'm saying?
- 28:44SPEAKER_04: Yeah, man.
- 28:45SPEAKER_01: I mean, there's there's a there's a couple company uh countries that have proven that to be true.
- 28:49SPEAKER_00: Yeah, the same thing with like the overdosing rate with the city.
- 28:52SPEAKER_01: They reduced yeah, they drastically reduced their their crime rate, their um uh overdose rate, like KOcho just mentioned.
- 28:59SPEAKER_01: Yeah, they're gonna be able to do that.
- 29:01SPEAKER_03: Uh but then then the rich the the rich get richer with shit like that.
- 29:05SPEAKER_03: Oh my I like I like I like the street hustler to come up and get rich.
- 29:10SPEAKER_04: They never come up with the window.
- 29:12SPEAKER_01: No, no, just the movies.
- 29:16SPEAKER_01: They're not taking the money out, they're not taking no money out of anybody's pocket, almost at your pocket.
- 29:20SPEAKER_01: You don't think so?
- 29:21SPEAKER_00: No, if I can buy if I can buy you can start a legitimate business.
- 29:26SPEAKER_01: They're changing the law on what's legal or not.
- 29:28SPEAKER_01: So you keep doing what you're doing and not getting arrested for it.
- 29:31SPEAKER_00: Because like obviously, like it's not like your customer base is gonna disappear.
- 29:34SPEAKER_00: You if you want to start a legitimate business, you can.
- 29:37SPEAKER_01: And another thing you have to remember, just like the marijuana industry, if you do anything on the books, you're normally registered.
- 29:42SPEAKER_01: Then there's always gonna be a percentage of people who don't want to be on the books somewhere, so they're still gonna go with something off the books or underground.
- 29:50SPEAKER_01: Like that's never gonna die.
- 29:53SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I agree.
- 29:55SPEAKER_04: I just feel like the casual smoker is just not gonna cop from a dealer anymore.
- 30:00SPEAKER_04: You can't just go to McDonald's about it.
- 30:04SPEAKER_04: Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
- 30:05SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but like you should be able to, like, let's say if it is legal, like you should be able to buy yourself cash.
- 30:09SPEAKER_00: Like, this doesn't have to be a paper trail.
- 30:11SPEAKER_00: No, you know, because like cigarettes they now write now on the person who's getting a cigarette, or like let's say you could just use cash instead of swiping your card or whatever.
- 30:21SPEAKER_05: Yeah, but yeah, that's true.
- 30:25SPEAKER_05: That's true.
- 30:27SPEAKER_00: No need to beat the shit out of that argument.
- 30:30SPEAKER_05: That's true.
- 30:31SPEAKER_00: Let's keep it on the low.
- 30:33SPEAKER_04: Let's keep it on the low.
- 30:34SPEAKER_00: Untraceable.
- 30:36SPEAKER_04: Um, have you guys heard um about the NFL draft?
- 30:41SPEAKER_04: Uh I didn't get it.
- 30:43SPEAKER_00: I've heard about it.
- 30:43SPEAKER_00: I've seen that infamous uh little video.
- 30:46SPEAKER_04: No, that shit is the funniest shit ever said.
- 30:49SPEAKER_01: Oh how they're giving all the players that they their own equipment to um basically host the draft at home.
- 30:56SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 30:56SPEAKER_04: So it came a lot of funny moments came out of that.
- 30:59SPEAKER_04: So there was two in particular that I saw.
- 31:01SPEAKER_04: There was one with the uh the wide receiver that has teeth like a horse.
- 31:05SPEAKER_04: And uh his girl tried to take his phone.
- 31:13SPEAKER_04: Like, this is like lie.
- 31:15SPEAKER_04: Lie, like the whole draft is watching this.
- 31:17SPEAKER_04: So his girl tried to take his phone and he snatches it back from her and then gives her like the side eye.
- 31:23SPEAKER_04: And then the funniest part about the whole shit is that uh the basketball player Trey Young he commented on it.
- 31:30SPEAKER_04: And then somebody was like, Yo, isn't that your ex-girl?
- 31:32SPEAKER_04: And then they showed a picture of them two like going to prom or some shit.
- 31:35SPEAKER_04: Yeah, so yeah, he got a straight bullet.
- 31:38SPEAKER_04: And then there was another one where it was a black dude, and this is why I even brought up the topic, but it was a black dude, and he was getting selected, and he was crying, and his like white girlfriend was like sitting like on top of him, and the mom, the mom, the mom like nudged her to move like very you know, calmly, like like you know, this is his moment.
- 31:54SPEAKER_04: And the girl would have moved.
- 31:56SPEAKER_04: So the mom like literally like dragged the girl off.
- 31:58SPEAKER_04: This is like live on the city.
- 31:59SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah, that was crazy.
- 32:01SPEAKER_04: So I was just like, damn, that shit is crazy.
- 32:04SPEAKER_04: So then um an NBA player, uh, a retired one, his name is Steven Jackson.
- 32:10SPEAKER_04: He said that um he brought this to my attention.
- 32:12SPEAKER_04: He was like, yo, how come how come we never see uh a black, I mean a white family with like any black people there during these draft moments?
- 32:23SPEAKER_04: Like you always see the black, the black athlete surrounded by all these white people, and they're all jumping for joy that he got drafted, but you never see like a white quarterback or a white player with a black, you know, girlfriend or black friend, or you know, black people around him during these draft moments.
- 32:40SPEAKER_04: So it's like where where do black people rank in the stock of this?
- 32:44SPEAKER_04: Like, I'm pretty sure that most of these uh these players, you know, they're from like southern, because you know, that in the south, that's where football is very prevalent.
- 32:53SPEAKER_04: So it's just kind of astounding to me that uh there's no black representation on the side of you know friends and family.
- 33:00SPEAKER_04: If you're if you're black, you have to be a player.
- 33:03SPEAKER_04: Exactly.
- 33:05SPEAKER_04: That sounds like the whole life story is.
- 33:10SPEAKER_03: What'd you say?
- 33:11SPEAKER_03: I was like, yeah, that's all I disposal even.
- 33:13SPEAKER_03: Oh, you can go KO Joe.
- 33:14SPEAKER_00: Oh no, no, go, go ahead.
- 33:16SPEAKER_03: I just that just sounds like what football's always been to me or looked like to me.
- 33:20SPEAKER_03: Like I was actually just watching a Michael Vick documentary, and he was saying the same thing about like when he went to Virginia Tech, he was like, only really seeing with the football staff and just like the whole football culture is just like is white, predominantly white, besides the players.
- 33:36SPEAKER_01: Yeah, like that that shit is strange.
- 33:39SPEAKER_01: We're dying at an exacerbating rate right now, right now.
- 33:42SPEAKER_01: Of course the whites are gonna be getting elected.
- 33:46SPEAKER_01: You can't come out.
- 33:52SPEAKER_04: You're telling me that there's no black girlfriend to any of these white players?
- 33:56SPEAKER_04: Like not one.
- 33:59SPEAKER_03: Yo, I don't I don't I mean it has to be one.
- 34:02SPEAKER_03: What's that one on Kansas in Kansas City?
- 34:04SPEAKER_03: Did he come out?
- 34:05SPEAKER_00: Yeah, Travis Travis Kelsey.
- 34:07SPEAKER_03: Oh, Travis Kelsey?
- 34:09SPEAKER_05: Yeah, yeah, I follow his girlfriend.
- 34:11SPEAKER_05: I follow him.
- 34:12SPEAKER_05: I think we might be having a guest entry too.
- 34:15SPEAKER_01: A word?
- 34:16SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 34:17SPEAKER_04: Who's who's electronic?
- 34:19SPEAKER_01: We're trying to make it work right now.
- 34:20SPEAKER_01: Rojo.
- 34:21SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 34:22SPEAKER_04: A word?
- 34:23SPEAKER_04: Uh oh.
- 34:24SPEAKER_04: Let's see.
- 34:26SPEAKER_01: Do you have um the link?
- 34:28SPEAKER_01: Uh sent it to him.
- 34:29SPEAKER_01: Uh I'll be on show.
- 34:30SPEAKER_01: I'll be on show.
- 34:31SPEAKER_01: He's diddling.
- 34:32SPEAKER_01: I think he's he'll be on show at least, supposedly.
- 34:34SPEAKER_01: Alright, cool.
- 34:38SPEAKER_00: But yeah, I think that's like the the one famous white player that has a black girl.
- 34:42SPEAKER_04: Yeah, but you see, I don't think he came into the league right now.
- 34:45SPEAKER_04: I think he's gonna be a big thing.
- 34:46SPEAKER_00: Yeah, no, it's been it's been, yeah, I think they've just been dating for the past like couple years, I think.
- 34:52SPEAKER_03: I think a good observation that you said was the South thing.
- 34:56SPEAKER_03: I think that's another prime.
- 34:59SPEAKER_04: Yeah, so having a white woman on your arm is a trophy, as opposed to a white man dating a black woman in the south is probably like, what are you doing?
- 35:08SPEAKER_04: kind of thing, right?
- 35:09SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that's still very racist still, you know.
- 35:12SPEAKER_03: So why don't we look down on those black brothers, man?
- 35:16SPEAKER_03: I think we I think we do.
- 35:17SPEAKER_03: I just don't think it's like we don't make it a huge deal.
- 35:21SPEAKER_03: I think I think people of color, like we really don't like, we don't really judge like other people's shit as much as other races judge when they race do shit that they don't like.
- 35:36SPEAKER_03: You feel me?
- 35:37SPEAKER_03: That makes sense.
- 35:37SPEAKER_03: So we don't hold each other accountable.
- 35:40SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah, pretty much, pretty much.
- 35:41SPEAKER_03: But then again, what are you holding what are you holding accountable if like if you're not racist, why is somebody else being with anybody else from a different race should it bother you?
- 35:50SPEAKER_00: Yeah, like why is it a pop?
- 35:52SPEAKER_00: So it's funny because this leads me to like another topic.
- 35:55SPEAKER_00: Um no, go for it, go for it.
- 35:56SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so have you seen the show Black AF or Black S hook?
- 36:00SPEAKER_04: I watched like the first two episodes.
- 36:04SPEAKER_00: Right, so it's with Kenya, but it's it's super funny, you know.
- 36:08SPEAKER_00: His character kind of pisses me off a little bit, but you know, that's the point.
- 36:12SPEAKER_00: Like, you know, I think it's just a highlight certain issues.
- 36:15SPEAKER_00: But um a lot of people were um commenting on like, oh, they're light skinned, like the kids, but it's like they're all black, like mind you, Rashida who plays the the mother, that's Lucy Jones' daughter, right?
- 36:31SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
- 36:31SPEAKER_00: And people were just like, mind you, this show is based off his life.
- 36:36SPEAKER_00: So his real wife is light skinned, you know, she's a doctor, they have six kids, hence where like the blackness comes from too.
- 36:44SPEAKER_00: The character rainbow is based off his life.
- 36:45SPEAKER_00: So it's like he seems to obviously write the things that he knows about the things that happened in his life.
- 36:50SPEAKER_00: So it's like they're like, Oh, this is not representative of like black people.
- 36:53SPEAKER_00: I'm like, I don't think it was meant to be representative of black people.
- 36:57SPEAKER_00: He highlights a lot of issues that black people go through in terms of like the reason why we dress the way we do, talk the way we do, yeah.
- 37:04SPEAKER_04: I definitely want to talk about that, yeah.
- 37:06SPEAKER_00: But it's like, why is everything like they're not black enough for you?
- 37:09SPEAKER_00: Like, but they're black, like, why are you still so colorless?
- 37:13SPEAKER_00: Like, because then you're obviously part of the problem too.
- 37:16SPEAKER_00: Like, oh, they're not black, and like, okay, but they're not white.
- 37:18SPEAKER_00: You, this is a black show, like, come on, come back.
- 37:21SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I think I think black people, it's like it's really hard being black on so many levels because not only do you have to battle the outside cultures, you also have to battle the the people within our culture that is gonna deal you not worthy.
- 37:40SPEAKER_04: Because to some person, you are not black enough.
- 37:44SPEAKER_01: To some of us, yeah.
- 37:45SPEAKER_05: Like I feel like that's stupid.
- 37:47SPEAKER_01: They portray that wonderfully in that show.
- 37:49SPEAKER_01: Because just like you and I would see him to be like the best pops.
- 37:54SPEAKER_01: Well, I would.
- 37:55SPEAKER_01: That's dope ass pops to have, especially he's black living uh living his best life in um uh one would say um a white community of wealth.
- 38:06SPEAKER_01: Um, his kids still uh gig at him and tell him he's a cornball because he's wearing chains.
- 38:11SPEAKER_01: Meanwhile, everybody loves his his fancy chains that he has that they don't.
- 38:16SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 38:17SPEAKER_01: Even feels bad about his uh his little sports car that he's got.
- 38:21SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but he feels like white people are saying that sarcastically.
- 38:24SPEAKER_00: That's why he's always like, I fucking hate white people because he feels like that's so much guy.
- 38:28SPEAKER_01: I finally buy up and they make you feel bad about it.
- 38:32SPEAKER_04: Yeah, it's like you can't escape being black, and it's like there's certain things that you have to do.
- 38:38SPEAKER_04: Like what he said, he can't drive a Prius.
- 38:41SPEAKER_04: Because if he drives a Prius as a rich black man, he's gonna look corny and broke.
- 38:46SPEAKER_04: So he has to drive.
- 38:51SPEAKER_03: That's double.
- 38:52SPEAKER_04: That's yeah, like people don't understand that when you're black, you don't turn it off ever.
- 38:58SPEAKER_04: Oh then you have people within your own culture that's gonna look at you and either say, Oh no, you're too black.
- 39:04SPEAKER_04: Uh, people look at Kodak black, yeah, too black because he's super ignorant.
- 39:09SPEAKER_04: And then there's some people that look at like Jordan Peel and says, nah, he's not black enough, he doesn't represent us.
- 39:14SPEAKER_04: So it's like how do you fit?
- 39:17SPEAKER_04: How do you fit?
- 39:17SPEAKER_04: Like, what do you mean?
- 39:19SPEAKER_00: That's my whole thing.
- 39:19SPEAKER_01: I thought you were gonna forget us for a second there, G.
- 39:22SPEAKER_01: I was like, Do I have to mention it myself?
- 39:24SPEAKER_01: Yeah, because you're not a black enough group.
- 39:26SPEAKER_00: Hello, Mr.
- 39:27SPEAKER_00: Light.
- 39:28SPEAKER_00: They like they like to call him White Man.
- 39:30SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you keep that to yourself.
- 39:33SPEAKER_01: My old family in Natika.
- 39:35SPEAKER_01: He light skinned too.
- 39:36SPEAKER_01: My cousin constantly calls me white man.
- 39:40SPEAKER_04: It's it's crazy.
- 39:42SPEAKER_04: Like the black experience is is people think it's all shits and giggles, man.
- 39:46SPEAKER_04: But it's really, it's really tough.
- 39:49SPEAKER_00: Yeah, no, for real.
- 39:50SPEAKER_00: For real.
- 39:51SPEAKER_00: It's like you can't win.
- 39:52SPEAKER_01: But you said it there, AG, you gotta deal with it at home and you have to deal with it within society.
- 39:57SPEAKER_01: Like it's it's a lot, and there's no turning it on or off, or else you're fake.
- 40:01SPEAKER_01: You know what I mean?
- 40:01SPEAKER_01: Like, yeah, like that nobody can decide.
- 40:04SPEAKER_00: Like because like initially when like they um they released like the pictures of like the actors and who he addressed it, like, listen, this is how the family would realistically look like if I'm if he's like he's brown, he's like a you know, he's of uh like a light brown color.
- 40:20SPEAKER_00: The wife is light skin.
- 40:23SPEAKER_00: It's hard.
- 40:23SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 40:24SPEAKER_00: It's brown skin.
- 40:25SPEAKER_00: I'll call him brown skin.
- 40:26SPEAKER_00: I don't know if I'd say light skin because he's brown.
- 40:28SPEAKER_05: Brown skin is a new concept.
- 40:30SPEAKER_00: Realistically, their kids would look like that.
- 40:32SPEAKER_00: Half of them are brown like him, the other half are light like the mom.
- 40:35SPEAKER_00: But it's like realistically, that's what the kids look like, and people were bashing him for doing that.
- 40:40SPEAKER_04: Like it's fucked up, but um I wanna I wanna um get into the whole dressing thing, right?
- 40:48SPEAKER_04: I was listening to another podcast, and the guy said that uh I forgot the gentleman's name, I really can't remember, but he's a comedian, and he was on uh Joe Rogan's podcast.
- 40:58SPEAKER_04: And he was saying how the reason why black people are so obsessed with getting fancy clothing and always presenting well, like you know, always being dressed up really well, always having a haircut, is because during slavery on Sundays, oh yeah, we were paraded around as like, yo, this is this look how my Negroes look on Sundays, they they wear their best shit.
- 41:20SPEAKER_04: Your Sunday's best.
- 41:21SPEAKER_04: Exactly.
- 41:22SPEAKER_04: So that kind of spilled into our DNA.
- 41:24SPEAKER_04: And I'm not sure if I'm not sure if I I truly believe in the whole DNA memory thing.
- 41:30SPEAKER_04: You know, I'm the jury's still out on the the resource.
- 41:32SPEAKER_01: I wouldn't say DNA memory, but that's that's that's uh a social memory, like that's that's what our society is built on, so therefore they they thought.
- 41:40SPEAKER_04: No, but some people go further and say that it's literally inside our DNA, like we have DNA memory.
- 41:47SPEAKER_00: This is literally Kenya's entire point, like the entire show is every episode is named like because of slavery, like it's like it gets longer and longer, like, yeah, this is another episode because of slavery.
- 41:58SPEAKER_01: But like those are the titles, his north stars, his north, exactly.
- 42:02SPEAKER_01: Like anything you want to tell me about the likelihood, I can bring it back to slavery.
- 42:05SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
- 42:05SPEAKER_00: But like that's he had an episode talking about that.
- 42:08SPEAKER_00: Like, why and exactly what you just broke down?
- 42:10SPEAKER_00: There's so many different exactly.
- 42:11SPEAKER_00: He said the Sunday's best, so he talks about he has like a lot of historical information that he releases during each episode that ties everything back together, but like it's usually because of slavery.
- 42:21SPEAKER_00: Um that's what he said, like that's why there's so many different names like that we have for like you know, what was it?
- 42:29SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 42:30SPEAKER_00: I've seen it.
- 42:32SPEAKER_01: Like that's how important it is to our community.
- 42:33SPEAKER_01: Look about how many, how many names?
- 42:35SPEAKER_01: Sounds like a great show.
- 42:36SPEAKER_05: Yeah, how do you have a lot of one shot?
- 42:40SPEAKER_00: It's a good show.
- 42:41SPEAKER_00: I love the kids.
- 42:42SPEAKER_01: Each kid is hilarious, and you'll like it too because him as a father, he still curses his kids out.
- 42:47SPEAKER_01: He's like, It's called black AFC, black AF, yeah.
- 42:51SPEAKER_03: Yeah, black AF.
- 42:52SPEAKER_03: Is it like blackish?
- 42:53SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it's the right.
- 42:56SPEAKER_03: It's the same people, same guy.
- 42:59SPEAKER_03: Literally the guy from the guy, same guy.
- 43:01SPEAKER_00: Yeah, he's the creator and the producer.
- 43:03SPEAKER_00: Yeah, he's the writer, not but now he's playing himself in this show.
- 43:06SPEAKER_03: Correct.
- 43:07SPEAKER_03: Oh, that's lit, that's lit, that's lit.
- 43:09SPEAKER_01: Uncensored on Netflix now, so he could say shut the fuck up.
- 43:12SPEAKER_01: You can say negative.
- 43:13SPEAKER_01: Oh, exactly.
- 43:13SPEAKER_01: But that's that's lit.
- 43:14SPEAKER_01: He could say I hate fucking white people as much as he wants as he does.
- 43:17SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
- 43:18SPEAKER_00: So this is a nice little outlet because it's not on ABC.
- 43:21SPEAKER_01: It was a big fuck you to ABC because ABC was trying to throttle his uh his talent.
- 43:25SPEAKER_00: Well, because he was tight because what was it?
- 43:28SPEAKER_00: It was one episode that they pulled, right?
- 43:30SPEAKER_00: One episode they pulled.
- 43:31SPEAKER_03: Oh, I think I've seen that one.
- 43:32SPEAKER_03: Well, I think I know it's from your episode.
- 43:34SPEAKER_00: Yeah, we I think we talked about it too.
- 43:36SPEAKER_01: Yeah, from that controversial uh episode basically fuck you with Netflix to ABC.
- 43:43SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that's good.
- 43:45SPEAKER_04: So with all that being said, how do you guys feel about the whole DNA memory?
- 43:52SPEAKER_04: Like, why do you because y'all black, so why do y'all feel like y'all need to always look nice when y'all leave the house?
- 43:58SPEAKER_01: Um, because I Our family will tell you that you look like a sex shit.
- 44:03SPEAKER_01: If you don't look so it's the approval of your peers, it's always the approval of others.
- 44:08SPEAKER_00: For me, it's not.
- 44:10SPEAKER_01: White people don't have that problem.
- 44:11SPEAKER_01: Asian people don't have that problem.
- 44:12SPEAKER_01: So I'm a disagreeable.
- 44:13SPEAKER_01: Yeah, because their their their way of dressing well is having a fat account.
- 44:17SPEAKER_01: It's just a different way that they perceive things.
- 44:20SPEAKER_04: Nobody can see your account though.
- 44:23SPEAKER_01: But for them it's the type of job you have, it's a prestige.
- 44:26SPEAKER_01: What I'm saying is that's what their focus is.
- 44:28SPEAKER_01: Yeah, as opposed to it being clothing.
- 44:30SPEAKER_01: Economical clothing and why?
- 44:33SPEAKER_04: Why do you think that?
- 44:34SPEAKER_03: Well, maybe they think they look good.
- 44:38SPEAKER_03: What if they think that what they're wearing is looking good?
- 44:41SPEAKER_03: Now, like, isn't it a perception?
- 44:43SPEAKER_03: Like, if you look good, like isn't that what you're saying?
- 44:46SPEAKER_01: You got that right.
- 44:47SPEAKER_01: You said that right.
- 44:48SPEAKER_04: Uh let me ask you a question.
- 44:51SPEAKER_04: When when school starts up, right?
- 44:54SPEAKER_04: Yeah, the black household, you're not gonna tell me there's a difference between the first day of school for black kids and the first day of school for Asian kids?
- 45:03SPEAKER_05: Yeah, yes, there is no sneakers, yes, there is.
- 45:06SPEAKER_05: No sneakers.
- 45:07SPEAKER_01: Can I can I answer that?
- 45:08SPEAKER_01: Absolutely.
- 45:09SPEAKER_01: It's an open question.
- 45:10SPEAKER_01: Philosophy, your culture's philosophy on life.
- 45:12SPEAKER_01: The things that they look at, they look at again wealth being having a house, have um, being an executive of a company, or progressing more than another family.
- 45:24SPEAKER_01: When you have it in a black family, uh a black household, is I want to have this week's or this month's new Jordans.
- 45:30SPEAKER_04: Yeah, but Ace, the thing that's bothering me is that there's black families that have all of those things that you just mentioned and still feel the societal pressure to still be on their quote unquote Sunday's best.
- 45:45SPEAKER_01: Okay, because we uh live in America.
- 45:50SPEAKER_01: Nah, so we have to endure a lot more shit.
- 45:53SPEAKER_01: So we have to live by regular social and economical standards, and we have to live by the standards of our peers.
- 45:59SPEAKER_01: No, but it's more on our plate.
- 46:03SPEAKER_00: But I guess it's also the appearance that you have that you have money too.
- 46:07SPEAKER_01: Like obviously, if you have like really$200 sneakers, for example, we just explained in the show when he was talking about the white man in a Prius versus the black man in the Prius, even though he's wildly more successful.
- 46:17SPEAKER_01: If you look at it, perceived differently.
- 46:19SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
- 46:19SPEAKER_01: If he showed up in the Prius, they would look down on him like, oh, we have yeah, we have another MC Hammer over here.
- 46:25SPEAKER_01: Where'd your money go?
- 46:26SPEAKER_01: Why you driving?
- 46:27SPEAKER_04: But but this is my thing.
- 46:28SPEAKER_04: Why is that the standard for us?
- 46:30SPEAKER_04: If we are the ones that create the standards for ourselves, who's us?
- 46:33SPEAKER_01: You talking about black people or the community of Americans?
- 46:37SPEAKER_03: Black people, fuck America.
- 46:39SPEAKER_03: Talking about black people.
- 46:40SPEAKER_03: Okay, I think with black people, you can go kill Joe.
- 46:44SPEAKER_00: Oh, okay.
- 46:44SPEAKER_00: I was saying, like, for me, I'm a person that just I like fashion, I like clothes, like okay.
- 46:50SPEAKER_04: Stop right there.
- 46:51SPEAKER_04: Stop right there.
- 46:51SPEAKER_04: I agree with you a hundred percent, right?
- 46:54SPEAKER_04: But why do you think that's the case?
- 46:56SPEAKER_04: Because the Asian girl that's your age, she don't she don't even fuck about none of that shit.
- 47:02SPEAKER_00: Well, mind you, it's also the freedom to be able to get it for myself because like obviously, like growing up, my mom had four daughters, she'd like to dress us all the same, you know.
- 47:12SPEAKER_00: So, but mind you, she bought us, you know, she did buy us everything that we like wanted.
- 47:16SPEAKER_05: Can I be a fool?
- 47:18SPEAKER_00: Obviously, always within a budget, but like now just being able to give myself these things, like I don't know, it's empowering.
- 47:26SPEAKER_05: Okay, okay.
- 47:27SPEAKER_00: And I just I I like mind you, I don't do it for the compliments.
- 47:31SPEAKER_00: I get compliments all the time.
- 47:32SPEAKER_00: Like, there's really not a day where I go without getting complimented by a stranger, like a boarder or something.
- 47:38SPEAKER_00: But um it's just it's I don't know, it makes me like it makes me want to like get out of bed, you know, and like you know, wear something that makes you feel good and you know, not even to not even to stand out, but it's just I don't know, when you look good, it does sort of help um make you feel a little better about your day or what you're doing.
- 48:00SPEAKER_00: And you know, as a person of color, shoot, it's it's nice to look nice and not be perceived in a certain way if you were like to dress like sort of gummy or regular.
- 48:13SPEAKER_00: You wanna you wanna feel like you're different, I guess.
- 48:17SPEAKER_01: So, like I was gonna say, um it's again silly, I know it already, but she's a beautiful peaco peacock, and like you said, in her DNA, she must peacock.
- 48:27SPEAKER_01: So she wants to be pretty because she is.
- 48:30SPEAKER_01: That that's her element.
- 48:32SPEAKER_01: Okay, yeah, that's all.
- 48:34SPEAKER_01: So again, it does go to DNA a bit.
- 48:36SPEAKER_01: To me, I'd I'd rather be rugged.
- 48:39SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 48:39SPEAKER_04: Uh tune.
- 48:41SPEAKER_04: Yes, sir.
- 48:42SPEAKER_04: You mentioned rap music, yes, sir.
- 48:46SPEAKER_04: Why are you gonna blame the thing that feeds you?
- 48:48SPEAKER_04: Let me hear this.
- 48:50SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah, because if these rappers saying this is the fly ship, obviously rap controls a lot of the culture.
- 48:55SPEAKER_03: Can we agree on that?
- 48:56SPEAKER_03: Yes, uh, absolutely.
- 48:59SPEAKER_03: So, my thing is okay, am I am I the only person that see red, or does everybody see red?
- 49:04SPEAKER_04: No, red is red is connecting currently.
- 49:06SPEAKER_04: All right, lady, I see him.
- 49:08SPEAKER_04: Let's go, right?
- 49:09SPEAKER_04: This nigga got a fucking Starbucks cup.
- 49:11SPEAKER_04: I'm about to pick him out of this shit right now.
- 49:15SPEAKER_03: But anyway, back to the rap music.
- 49:18SPEAKER_03: If if if if if they telling me that the bins, if the bench is the car to have, then I may just cop a bench.
- 49:26SPEAKER_03: So that may be the status that I would love to reach one day eventually.
- 49:30SPEAKER_03: Do you think that's what I think it is?
- 49:33SPEAKER_00: Did you guys see the whole Air Force Ones argument with like Melly and ASAP?
- 49:37SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah.
- 49:41SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 49:42SPEAKER_00: Now we have a whole song about it.
- 49:44SPEAKER_00: So they were like, don't disrespect Nelly and ASAP.
- 49:46SPEAKER_03: And he said he said he hoped to go from$59.99 to$100.
- 49:51SPEAKER_04: Oh no, we getting like some crazy echo feedback.
- 49:54SPEAKER_04: Yeah, we're separating there.
- 49:57SPEAKER_04: Are y'all all in the same room?
- 49:59SPEAKER_01: Yeah, we had two phones, two phones per three people.
- 50:02SPEAKER_04: That is not the smartest thing in the world to do, but I'm glad you guys check it out that quickly.
- 50:08SPEAKER_04: Um, yeah, listeners, just bear with us.
- 50:10SPEAKER_04: You know, we're still working out the zoom shit.
- 50:13SPEAKER_04: Uh ignore our technical difficulties, but um no, yeah, we're we should be good now.
- 50:18SPEAKER_04: Yeah, but no, that's uh that's that was the point too.
- 50:22SPEAKER_00: That obviously rap music has a big influence on but what's happening?
- 50:26SPEAKER_04: Okay, but in rap music wasn't always around though.
- 50:30SPEAKER_04: Yeah, no, that's a fact.
- 50:32SPEAKER_01: That's a fact.
- 50:32SPEAKER_01: Um, but we always had some sort of um entertainment that we followed.
- 50:38SPEAKER_01: There's always entertainment.
- 50:39SPEAKER_01: Rapid around, but jazz jazz music didn't give a fuck about what she looked like.
- 50:44SPEAKER_01: There's religion, there's there's whole whole swather things that people followed as a group.
- 50:51SPEAKER_01: Or something to speak about to send information through the uh throughout the country.
- 50:56SPEAKER_00: Harriet Tubman.
- 50:57SPEAKER_00: Is your point like, do we want to look better um in like for our community or like to show out to show exactly to show out like our community or like for white people?
- 51:09SPEAKER_04: I change white people were different.
- 51:11SPEAKER_04: Thank you for asking.
- 51:12SPEAKER_04: Finally, somebody asked me how I feel, you know.
- 51:14SPEAKER_04: But um, I change my opinion like every other week about this because I really sit down and think to myself.
- 51:23SPEAKER_04: I just I spent like$300 on Nike fucking clothing for my son who's gonna wear this shit one time, one time, and I just I'm thinking to myself, why can't I just buy some shit from like Carter's or something that's like five dollars?
- 51:43SPEAKER_04: And because that's what a sensible person would do, you know what I'm saying?
- 51:46SPEAKER_04: But then I realized my baby got a stunt on the other baby, and then I thought to myself, why do I think like this?
- 51:53SPEAKER_04: And then I look back into my life, I look out into my driveway, and there's a car that I can't afford sitting there, and I'm like, Why do I have this car?
- 52:01SPEAKER_04: Why why do I think Jordan's exactly?
- 52:05SPEAKER_04: It's the it's just the experience of regret.
- 52:08SPEAKER_03: He loves the fact that I must say, AG, I love your life choices, my brother.
- 52:15SPEAKER_03: I love your life choices, man.
- 52:16SPEAKER_03: You're making great choices in my terrible choices.
- 52:22SPEAKER_00: How many times do you get to live?
- 52:24SPEAKER_00: Nah, it's true.
- 52:25SPEAKER_00: YOLO, yeah.
- 52:27SPEAKER_01: YOLO, and you got the bills for the next 70 years, and you didn't quite die like you expected to.
- 52:33SPEAKER_03: That's a fact.
- 52:34SPEAKER_03: But what do you think?
- 52:35SPEAKER_03: So you know what, K Otro, you keep buying nice clothes, you guys keep going a bunch.
- 52:39SPEAKER_03: AG, you keep buying a new car, you keep doing all the fly shit, man.
- 52:43SPEAKER_03: We deserve it.
- 52:45SPEAKER_01: Well, AG, just like you said, my my opinion changes every ever so slightly, every so often.
- 52:51SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 52:52SPEAKER_01: Um, we just think I think it's a pretty even plate.
- 52:55SPEAKER_01: It's just you want to look good for yourself, you also want to not look uh you want to look approachable depending on the type of um the type of person you are in your society or how you just feel about yourself.
- 53:08SPEAKER_01: Because if you're selling insurance, you want to look presentable, you want to be able to look approachable to uh new clientele or uh existing clientele.
- 53:17SPEAKER_01: So it all depends on what your lifestyle is and what you need to maintain visually.
- 53:22SPEAKER_01: Because this is America, it's not it's not like we're a bunch of farmers buying senseless jobs to go farming, you know what I mean?
- 53:29SPEAKER_01: Like we're dry, we we buy clothes because we have everything about us is impressionable.
- 53:34SPEAKER_01: You want to give the right impression every time.
- 53:35SPEAKER_00: Because they're gonna look at you regardless whenever you step in a room.
- 53:38SPEAKER_04: I definitely understand that, but this is my thing, right?
- 53:41SPEAKER_01: So I don't I say that to say I don't think it's just blacks.
- 53:44SPEAKER_01: I don't think it's just blacks at all.
- 53:46SPEAKER_01: It's not you're asking that.
- 53:49SPEAKER_01: Yes, it is.
- 53:51SPEAKER_00: No, it's a it's it's a bigger thing, bigger thing in our community, but obviously there are white people who try to stunt too, of course.
- 53:57SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but Hispanic people because keep it up to Joneses is not a black family.
- 54:03SPEAKER_04: Jones, you don't hear the last name?
- 54:05SPEAKER_05: Jones Barry Jones, 40 Jones.
- 54:11SPEAKER_04: Okay, okay, okay.
- 54:13SPEAKER_00: But it's like I feel like I feel like it's like we grow up, and a lot of us don't grow up spoiled, so I feel like we feel the need to spoil ourselves, fill those voids.
- 54:23SPEAKER_00: That's why I feel like that's why I feel like I do it.
- 54:25SPEAKER_00: I feel like I'm I want to spoil myself because no one else is gonna do it.
- 54:30SPEAKER_04: Yeah, but even the rich black the super rich black people still do it.
- 54:35SPEAKER_04: That's the reason why I don't think it's a socioeconomic thing.
- 54:39SPEAKER_04: Why do you think they got rich?
- 54:40SPEAKER_04: They got rich so they could keep doing it.
- 54:42SPEAKER_04: Yeah, but then their kids are struggling.
- 54:45SPEAKER_00: They're gonna fancy.
- 54:47SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but their kids never struggle.
- 54:48SPEAKER_00: They grew up rich.
- 54:50SPEAKER_00: Obviously, now some people are, but like Diddy's thing in Kenya, like he didn't grow up.
- 54:56SPEAKER_00: So now he just has extra income to freaking.
- 54:59SPEAKER_01: All right, I'm gonna do it.
- 55:01SPEAKER_01: This is how they're freaking.
- 55:02SPEAKER_01: You guys raise a good point there because you're saying the same thing.
- 55:05SPEAKER_01: You're saying the thing where he's a person who came up from struggle, who came up from less and provided more for his family.
- 55:11SPEAKER_01: Now his children are second generation wealth, right?
- 55:14SPEAKER_01: But him, him being the first generation of their wealth is still bashing his son for dressing in an Adidas suit with Nike sneakers.
- 55:23SPEAKER_01: So he's continuing, he's continuing to perpetuate the bullshit though.
- 55:27SPEAKER_01: That's not true.
- 55:28SPEAKER_01: Even though he's the first gen.
- 55:29SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so look at it like this.
- 55:32SPEAKER_00: And that would not be a problem in a White House.
- 55:34SPEAKER_01: But again, he's creating a problem with complaints about dressing.
- 55:38SPEAKER_04: Okay, but look at this.
- 55:40SPEAKER_04: Look at it like this.
- 55:42SPEAKER_04: Yeah, but this is my thing.
- 55:44SPEAKER_04: Look at Bill Gates and look at P.
- 55:46SPEAKER_04: Diddy.
- 55:47SPEAKER_04: Bill Gates is 10 times richer than this nigga, bro.
- 55:50SPEAKER_04: And his kids do not have to buy Ferraris and shoot rap music videos.
- 55:56SPEAKER_04: I don't even know what Bill Gates' kids look like.
- 55:58SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
- 55:58SPEAKER_00: I was about to say, I don't know.
- 56:00SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
- 56:01SPEAKER_00: What they look like.
- 56:02SPEAKER_04: Exactly.
- 56:03SPEAKER_04: And then you got Tom Hanks, who his son wants to be Jamaican.
- 56:07SPEAKER_00: So it's like with a name like Chet.
- 56:11SPEAKER_04: Yeah, like he's straight up a bad man.
- 56:13SPEAKER_04: I'm telling you.
- 56:14SPEAKER_04: Like, if you check his Instagram, he's Irie.
- 56:16SPEAKER_04: He's you know, he wants to be a black daughter.
- 56:20SPEAKER_04: And because he's participating in our culture, but he knows damn right that that is not his culture, and I don't understand why we have to be if everybody's a peacock, why do black folks have to be the biggest peacocks?
- 56:35SPEAKER_04: That's my thing.
- 56:35SPEAKER_04: Where does that come from?
- 56:36SPEAKER_04: I don't know where we don't have to be, we just naturally because of slavery.
- 56:40SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I think that's one of the arguments, and I think that's a great argument.
- 56:43SPEAKER_04: I can't disagree.
- 56:45SPEAKER_02: I mean by nature of the black I'm sorry, by nature the black uh person always has the biggest peacock, so you know.
- 56:54SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I think that's a fair assessment.
- 56:56SPEAKER_04: I I think that's fair.
- 56:57SPEAKER_04: That's that's red, ladies and gentlemen.
- 56:59SPEAKER_04: He's back.
- 57:00SPEAKER_04: What up, peoples?
- 57:01SPEAKER_04: What's going on?
- 57:02SPEAKER_04: Uh happy quarantining.
- 57:04SPEAKER_04: Yeah, thank you.
- 57:05SPEAKER_04: Happy is the best word, but uh we definitely are quarantining.
- 57:10SPEAKER_02: Hey, listen, I I I just happened to hear the tail end of what you guys are talking about, and um Toon talking about, oh nigga, I'll go to jail.
- 57:18SPEAKER_02: Nigga, sounding by the uh you can't even do 90 days on house arrest for Wi-Fi.
- 57:25SPEAKER_02: You ain't going up north.
- 57:27SPEAKER_03: Uh send me to jail.
- 57:30SPEAKER_03: I'll do 90 days in jail before I do one day at war.
- 57:34SPEAKER_03: No, no, no, you're doing a year in jail.
- 57:37SPEAKER_03: It's a year, bro.
- 57:38SPEAKER_03: I mean, right now, COVID.
- 57:41SPEAKER_03: I don't know about the fact.
- 57:43SPEAKER_03: Now you don't serve your whole sentence, man.
- 57:45SPEAKER_03: I'll just tell on somebody.
- 57:46SPEAKER_01: What I'm saying is, I'm not trying to get in that jail.
- 57:49SPEAKER_03: Huh?
- 57:50SPEAKER_01: Not even for a minute.
- 57:51SPEAKER_01: I might take that day at war.
- 57:53SPEAKER_04: I'm going to Korea.
- 57:58SPEAKER_04: Whatever Korea they sending niggas to.
- 58:00SPEAKER_04: That's my fault.
- 58:02SPEAKER_04: I ain't going to jail.
- 58:06SPEAKER_03: Before you go to Korea, ask yourself, can you go to every part of Alabama?
- 58:10SPEAKER_03: Nah, I can't.
- 58:11SPEAKER_03: Exactly.
- 58:12SPEAKER_03: I'm not fighting for a country where I can't chill in Alabama without being called a nigga.
- 58:17SPEAKER_03: Ain't no shit in Alabama, anyways, nigga.
- 58:19SPEAKER_03: What the fuck you want to go there for?
- 58:21SPEAKER_03: Fuck Alabama.
- 58:22SPEAKER_04: How about that?
- 58:24SPEAKER_04: Do you want to chill in Alabama is the real part?
- 58:27SPEAKER_03: Pennsylvania.
- 58:28SPEAKER_03: There's certain parts of New York you can't even go to.
- 58:31SPEAKER_05: That's not true.
- 58:32SPEAKER_01: Yes, yes, one part of New York you can't go to.
- 58:36SPEAKER_01: Um anything that's uh for the rich.
- 58:41SPEAKER_04: Nah, we chillin', man.
- 58:42SPEAKER_04: New York is an open state.
- 58:44SPEAKER_01: New York is any lounge you feel like is stopping.
- 58:47SPEAKER_01: You can't even do that on Signway, bro.
- 58:48SPEAKER_04: Yeah, if you have the right connections, you can you can need that money.
- 58:55SPEAKER_01: You need that master.
- 58:56SPEAKER_01: You need that master card.
- 58:58SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I get you.
- 58:59SPEAKER_04: So just to put a button.
- 59:04SPEAKER_04: Oh, we talk about why why we don't we want to um find out why black people always have to dress fly, have nice haircuts, drive the nicest cars, not match Jordan's and Adidas.
- 59:15SPEAKER_04: Like we want to understand why that is for our culture.
- 59:19SPEAKER_02: Has everyone given their uh opinions?
- 59:21SPEAKER_02: Uh for the most part, I believe.
- 59:23SPEAKER_00: Pretty much, yeah.
- 59:24SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 59:25SPEAKER_02: Um I'd like to just chime in and say, I feel it's one of those things because as a majority, we as a people, you know, don't have as much as you know the white man.
- 59:39SPEAKER_02: So that's what we can show.
- 59:41SPEAKER_02: You know what I'm saying?
- 59:43SPEAKER_02: That's and and yeah, it's it's definitely a um I think encoded in DNA going back to the whole slavery of you know Sunday's best and so forth and so on.
- 59:53SPEAKER_02: I I definitely believe that has a lot to do with it.
- 59:56SPEAKER_01: Um that's more society than your in your actual DNA though.
- 1:00:01SPEAKER_01: That's what I keep arguing.
- 1:00:02SPEAKER_00: But that's the thing, it's passionate.
- 1:00:03SPEAKER_01: But learned behavior generational.
- 1:00:06SPEAKER_00: Yeah, exactly.
- 1:00:07SPEAKER_01: Yeah, okay.
- 1:00:08SPEAKER_01: So you take me from Antigua to be born here in America, and I'm not peacocking like an American.
- 1:00:14SPEAKER_01: Why?
- 1:00:14SPEAKER_00: But obviously, it's not gonna be true for everybody.
- 1:00:18SPEAKER_01: Everyone doesn't do it, though.
- 1:00:18SPEAKER_01: That's just the one that we do.
- 1:00:20SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
- 1:00:21SPEAKER_01: That's how again, that's society and how you react to the city.
- 1:00:24SPEAKER_04: No, you you peacock too, bro.
- 1:00:26SPEAKER_04: You you drive really nice cars.
- 1:00:28SPEAKER_04: To who?
- 1:00:29SPEAKER_04: You drive nice cars.
- 1:00:31SPEAKER_04: I like them to someone in Calcutta.
- 1:00:33SPEAKER_00: Yeah, you don't drive hoofties, really.
- 1:00:35SPEAKER_04: I do drive hoofties to me, they're hoofties, though.
- 1:00:38SPEAKER_04: No, but to somebody that knows cars like and they understand your engine put in the random exactly.
- 1:00:44SPEAKER_04: Yeah, you peacocking too, it's just a different way.
- 1:00:47SPEAKER_04: So we all right, all right.
- 1:00:48SPEAKER_00: I let you have some nice things.
- 1:00:50SPEAKER_01: We all do, you just got to use your vibes, but I don't do it, I don't do it to be better than anybody.
- 1:00:56SPEAKER_01: That's just the standard of things that I like.
- 1:00:58SPEAKER_01: So you see what I'm getting though?
- 1:01:00SPEAKER_01: Some people buy a question.
- 1:01:02SPEAKER_01: Some people buy some people buy clothes that they know is ugly to them, but they wear it because society says it's mad cool.
- 1:01:09SPEAKER_01: I'm not like that.
- 1:01:10SPEAKER_01: I wear a pair of Jordans because I like those Jordans, not because they're popular.
- 1:01:13SPEAKER_02: Can I ask you a question?
- 1:01:15SPEAKER_02: Who's you what's up?
- 1:01:20SPEAKER_02: You love vehicles, you love cars, correct?
- 1:01:22SPEAKER_01: Uh-huh.
- 1:01:23SPEAKER_01: Why do you like cars?
- 1:01:26SPEAKER_01: Why do I like cars?
- 1:01:27SPEAKER_01: I started liking cars because I like speed.
- 1:01:30SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 1:01:31SPEAKER_01: I like the acceleration of speed.
- 1:01:33SPEAKER_00: But your father didn't introduce you to it?
- 1:01:35SPEAKER_01: To speed, yes.
- 1:01:35SPEAKER_01: I was in the car with him, speedy.
- 1:01:38SPEAKER_01: Okay, but your love for Volkswagens is through whom?
- 1:01:41SPEAKER_01: My love for Volkswagen is for knowing the difference between the cars.
- 1:01:46SPEAKER_01: So I like what Volkswagen has to offer.
- 1:01:49SPEAKER_01: And that was provided for knowledge from my father.
- 1:01:53SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 1:01:54SPEAKER_02: So you can kind of say that you took after your father in a sense?
- 1:01:57SPEAKER_01: I made the same choices when given multitude of options because I was I was able to drive Japanese cars and defense attorney over here.
- 1:02:10SPEAKER_01: It's not easy, but it's okay.
- 1:02:13SPEAKER_00: It could be at an unconscious level.
- 1:02:16SPEAKER_00: You may not think it's because of that, but subconsciously, it could be because of all these reasons that we're talking about.
- 1:02:22SPEAKER_01: I'm I'm coherent in my thought and thought.
- 1:02:27SPEAKER_01: It's cool, but sound off, please.
- 1:02:31SPEAKER_01: You can identify a pattern in the knowledge in your unconscious so that you consciously and unconsciously do the right thing.
- 1:02:38SPEAKER_02: All right.
- 1:02:38SPEAKER_02: Well, you know, I'll just say like this.
- 1:02:40SPEAKER_00: My sister, hold on, no, no, no.
- 1:02:43SPEAKER_00: Casey wanted to come in and say something.
- 1:02:46SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that um I just took a diversity and inclusion course, and we were talking about that 90% of our decisions are made unconsciously.
- 1:02:54SPEAKER_01: And that's why you're not being included in the uh visual.
- 1:02:59SPEAKER_01: It's fine with the visual.
- 1:03:00SPEAKER_01: Her soundbite was was good.
- 1:03:02SPEAKER_04: We gotta see her face.
- 1:03:03SPEAKER_04: That's how this works.
- 1:03:07SPEAKER_04: Everybody gotta show what the quarantine is doing to them.
- 1:03:09SPEAKER_04: We all gotta see.
- 1:03:20SPEAKER_00: But that's just the way our way our brain works.
- 1:03:23SPEAKER_00: Because like sometimes we move so fast, like, even people who don't think that they're racist, they make like sub, you know, uh uh subconscious or unconsciously racist things.
- 1:03:33SPEAKER_00: Like, you know, all these studies that talk about in terms of like, oh, like your name on a resume, sort of like things like that, like guide us, and but we're not we're not aware of all these reasons why, or it also talked about that like our our minds actually have intake like 11 million like bits of stimuli at one time and we can only process like 40.
- 1:03:59SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
- 1:03:59SPEAKER_00: So that's why a lot of our decisions are unconscious because there's too much information for us to process consciously.
- 1:04:05SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but like all these things, like we talk about like our generational yeah, I definitely think it's encoded in our DNA.
- 1:04:12SPEAKER_01: When they're calculating um decisions, that's also like, am I gonna breathe right now?
- 1:04:16SPEAKER_01: Am I gonna uh do I need to inhale or exhale?
- 1:04:19SPEAKER_01: Those are also actions that are in your subconscious mind.
- 1:04:22SPEAKER_01: Your subconscious mind.
- 1:04:24SPEAKER_04: We're trying to find out why niggas like Ben's and Gucci.
- 1:04:28SPEAKER_04: That's pretty hard.
- 1:04:29SPEAKER_02: So be quote, I like because that's that's just their representations of of wealth and and you know, associated with uh money.
- 1:04:39SPEAKER_01: It's like bigger.
- 1:04:45SPEAKER_01: Like we spoke about many times, we thought that's what wealth looks like.
- 1:04:53SPEAKER_01: Because that's not wealth in their dynamic.
- 1:04:56SPEAKER_01: They just keep saying the same thing.
- 1:04:57SPEAKER_01: They they they drive lexicons, don't get it twisted.
- 1:05:01SPEAKER_01: So an Asian is gonna look at that fiscally, and they wear the fuck out of some Supreme.
- 1:05:07SPEAKER_02: Don't say that.
- 1:05:08SPEAKER_03: That's what I'm saying.
- 1:05:15SPEAKER_04: I don't think that Asian person is just a straight up Asian person, I think they're participating in our culture.
- 1:05:21SPEAKER_01: Probably own a business that's supposed to make the money on.
- 1:05:23SPEAKER_00: More people are more white people, Hispanic people, white, you know, Asians.
- 1:05:28SPEAKER_00: Like they are participating more in our culture.
- 1:05:30SPEAKER_00: Because you know, there's actually that one show I did want to watch that Lino Wave has that they talk about um sneaker culture.
- 1:05:36SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I was like, I actually really wanted to watch it because that shit, like the our whole sneaker culture is just crazy.
- 1:05:42SPEAKER_04: No, yeah, and all of that comes back to peacocking, and that comes back from the black culture.
- 1:05:47SPEAKER_04: And I'm gonna read you a quote from Pimp C.
- 1:05:50SPEAKER_04: Pimp C.
- 1:05:50SPEAKER_04: Well, I'm not gonna give you a sweet joke.
- 1:05:53SPEAKER_04: Yeah, but he basically said that you know, diamonds and gold, that's Shit comes from when we were in Africa and we were rocking diamonds and gold.
- 1:06:04SPEAKER_04: So some people make the argument that this shit is literally in our DNA even before slavery.
- 1:06:10SPEAKER_04: So we can't really just blame it on that.
- 1:06:12SPEAKER_01: I'm pretty sure the history that um that's true is that we weren't wearing probably wearing it, we were probably using it for the elements that they are.
- 1:06:21SPEAKER_01: No, niggas is wearing it.
- 1:06:25SPEAKER_01: Doubt it.
- 1:06:26SPEAKER_01: No, they were.
- 1:06:27SPEAKER_01: They were wearing it.
- 1:06:29SPEAKER_01: They definitely didn't start mining it just to wear it.
- 1:06:32SPEAKER_01: No, that's gold crowns.
- 1:06:34SPEAKER_04: Niggas was wearing it though.
- 1:06:36SPEAKER_00: I said, look at the Egyptians, no, like weren't they really into all of them?
- 1:06:39SPEAKER_00: Yes, and they were not wearing it, they were using it as a material.
- 1:06:46SPEAKER_01: Absolutely was wearing it.
- 1:06:47SPEAKER_01: Gold is absolutely all their headpieces and neck pieces.
- 1:06:51SPEAKER_01: Okay, so again, is the best conductor of electricity.
- 1:06:56SPEAKER_01: That was the purpose of Egyptian bringing gold.
- 1:06:59SPEAKER_01: Do you know?
- 1:07:02SPEAKER_03: I like the way it looks.
- 1:07:05SPEAKER_00: But that's my whole point.
- 1:07:07SPEAKER_00: It's like you can be different.
- 1:07:09SPEAKER_00: But though we're talking about our community as a whole, like obviously, this is uh, you know, something that a lot of people in our community feel more so than any other community.
- 1:07:18SPEAKER_00: So let me ask you two.
- 1:07:19SPEAKER_00: Let me ask you two a question.
- 1:07:21SPEAKER_00: We're not saying every black person is like this, because obviously we're not all the same, but as a collective, the majority of us are.
- 1:07:31SPEAKER_01: Let me ask you two a question.
- 1:07:32SPEAKER_01: Why do you think um gold and aluminum and titanium are so expensive?
- 1:07:38SPEAKER_01: Is it because we black people think it's cool, or is it because gold has a bigger purpose than to consider it?
- 1:07:45SPEAKER_04: They're precious metals, they they have value with conducting you know electricity, like you said, and they they're inside of our cell phones and things like that.
- 1:07:54SPEAKER_01: And that's the reason why they're as expensive that they are.
- 1:08:01SPEAKER_01: But why did niggas put it on their head?
- 1:08:03SPEAKER_01: That's my question.
- 1:08:04SPEAKER_01: Okay, that's with jewels.
- 1:08:08SPEAKER_01: AG, the same reason why a bunch of niggas and whites went to the grocery store buying out toilet paper when they heard about this epidemic term pandemic, because they're just following people.
- 1:08:21SPEAKER_01: So you don't know the reason why somebody's grabbing toilet paper.
- 1:08:24SPEAKER_01: Oh shit, that man got toilet paper.
- 1:08:25SPEAKER_01: Let me go get two.
- 1:08:26SPEAKER_01: The next person goes to get three, next person gets to go four.
- 1:08:29SPEAKER_01: They'll ask the third person why they did it.
- 1:08:31SPEAKER_01: I don't know, because the person's coming.
- 1:08:33SPEAKER_04: I'll see the I don't I don't see the correlation, man.
- 1:08:36SPEAKER_01: You don't okay, you don't want to.
- 1:08:39SPEAKER_01: I really don't.
- 1:08:40SPEAKER_00: You're trying to think.
- 1:08:41SPEAKER_00: I feel like you aren't.
- 1:08:43SPEAKER_01: You ask why they wear it on their head.
- 1:08:45SPEAKER_01: It's monkey see monkey do.
- 1:08:47SPEAKER_01: Some person doesn't know the reason why one man is mining for both.
- 1:08:49SPEAKER_01: Oh, but I'm the king.
- 1:08:51SPEAKER_04: That's why he was the king.
- 1:08:53SPEAKER_04: I'm not a monkey.
- 1:08:54SPEAKER_04: Like I'm the one that sets all the trends.
- 1:08:56SPEAKER_04: So why would the king wake up one morning and say, you know, I'm gonna put this shiny shit on my head?
- 1:09:00SPEAKER_04: Question.
- 1:09:00SPEAKER_01: Can I just think he was a king before nobody else was a king?
- 1:09:03SPEAKER_01: There's nothing under under the sun, my man.
- 1:09:07SPEAKER_04: That's true, that's true.
- 1:09:08SPEAKER_01: I uh Red, go ahead.
- 1:09:09SPEAKER_01: Floor is yours.
- 1:09:10SPEAKER_02: Uh, even you know, you even look at other people with uh, you know, positions, kings and uh queens of royalty of other places other than Africa, they still wore uh golden crowns and stuff like that on their head.
- 1:09:23SPEAKER_02: So, you know, you can't, you know, it's it is a style, um, I feel.
- 1:09:29SPEAKER_02: And I don't necessarily think that people were looking at it for its uh purposes as far as uh anything other than fashion at that point in time.
- 1:09:42SPEAKER_02: Um not to say that the intelligence wasn't there, but I'm just saying the practical use for it was for you know trade and and uh you know if you were wealthy enough, you had golden toilets and this, that, and the third, you can go back to the Egyptians and you can look at their um you know representation of pictures and things like that.
- 1:10:05SPEAKER_02: They wore crowns and they had uh jewelry that was made out of gold with other precious gems and things like that.
- 1:10:12SPEAKER_02: So at that time, you know, you you can't say that it wasn't a fashion thing, and it you know, it is learned behavior, it's passed down.
- 1:10:20SPEAKER_02: Not everyone is like that, nor holds value to it, but it is something that's um, I think beyond uh proven.
- 1:10:31SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's like I feel like with Aegis Point.
- 1:10:36SPEAKER_00: No, with Aegis Point, it's just it's not just a societal thing.
- 1:10:40SPEAKER_00: Like he's saying they that all feeds into each other because obviously it's so strong within our community, more so than everyone else.
- 1:10:48SPEAKER_00: So it's not just because obviously all these other people can learn it.
- 1:10:52SPEAKER_00: They can all they all have the capacity to learn in terms of like what's you know, what's hot or like like like behaviors, just like you said, learned behaviors, but why is it so prevalent again in our community?
- 1:11:03SPEAKER_00: I feel like it's not his point is it's not just a societal thing, like he was saying the sort of like uh crazy thing it is because our DNA, and then obviously now it's it's being perpetuated throughout the generations.
- 1:11:17SPEAKER_01: I hear I hear what you're saying.
- 1:11:18SPEAKER_00: Not everyone has our same history.
- 1:11:21SPEAKER_01: Cool, I get that.
- 1:11:22SPEAKER_01: But still, when you just mentioned kings and queens wearing crowns, now how do you act like you're a person of prestige when you're amongst your peers?
- 1:11:30SPEAKER_01: You're like, oh, let me wear what that king or queen was wearing.
- 1:11:33SPEAKER_01: So it makes it sets me aside from the rest and shows that I'm better than the person to my right or left.
- 1:11:38SPEAKER_01: So again, that's trying to be or show present that you are something in your society amongst your peers.
- 1:11:46SPEAKER_01: Again, it depends on the person.
- 1:11:48SPEAKER_01: That's objective.
- 1:11:50SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
- 1:11:50SPEAKER_00: We can't there's nothing.
- 1:11:52SPEAKER_00: We can't prove this.
- 1:11:53SPEAKER_00: We can't prove this.
- 1:11:54SPEAKER_01: Okay, so you can't say it is just DNA and say that it's a breaking stage.
- 1:11:57SPEAKER_01: I'm not saying that it's just DNA.
- 1:11:59SPEAKER_00: I think I said it all presents.
- 1:12:01SPEAKER_01: It has a large portion to do it.
- 1:12:02SPEAKER_01: That's completely different.
- 1:12:04SPEAKER_01: I would shut up five minutes ago if that was the case, but you can't say that it's just because it's in our DNA.
- 1:12:11SPEAKER_02: Yeah, but it does have a portion, a large portion to do with it.
- 1:12:17SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 1:12:18SPEAKER_02: I agree.
- 1:12:19SPEAKER_00: And it's obviously this like you said, like we face a lot of pressures in our daily lives.
- 1:12:23SPEAKER_00: So, like, this is one little bit that you can feel good about yourself, you know, and you can look good to others.
- 1:12:31SPEAKER_00: Like, there's just so much shit that you deal with constantly being black that it's nice to just be able to like look nice.
- 1:12:37SPEAKER_02: And then each culture also has their differences in uh in what they consider style.
- 1:12:42SPEAKER_02: You know, you have your different exactly you you you can have you can have someone with the preppy look with some 200 uh 300 slacks on and a shirt that's$150, and you would never really know it.
- 1:12:56SPEAKER_03: Exactly.
- 1:12:56SPEAKER_02: So expensive.
- 1:12:58SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 1:12:58SPEAKER_02: Um, you know, uh Brooks Brothers is expensive.
- 1:13:02SPEAKER_02: You know what I'm saying?
- 1:13:02SPEAKER_02: Uh you um you wear some shoes or something like that that may not be that fashionable, but when you look at them like, oh, so why do you go buy them if you can't tell the difference between something that's expensive or not?
- 1:13:16SPEAKER_01: But I'm saying you have some people who are No, I'm asking a question.
- 1:13:19SPEAKER_01: Why do you think people do that?
- 1:13:20SPEAKER_01: Just like you say, um buy uh buy those uh slacks that you won't even notice at$300.
- 1:13:28SPEAKER_02: Styles, it can be a style, it could be a thing, you don't necessarily have to be like the brand, you like the quality.
- 1:13:33SPEAKER_02: You don't necessarily have to um necessarily like to promote what you're wearing at all times, like a billboard, like you know, other brands where the um Instagram is is extreme.
- 1:13:46SPEAKER_02: Yeah, but you know, that could just be their style.
- 1:13:48SPEAKER_02: Like, okay, that's what I like.
- 1:13:50SPEAKER_02: I like this, it's made here.
- 1:13:51SPEAKER_02: The fabric is this, it's it was crafted better, the cut is different.
- 1:13:56SPEAKER_01: Okay, that's a lot different than not knowing why you like something just get it because you're expensive.
- 1:14:01SPEAKER_00: But there's some people who do, like, why you got buying hundreds of like a belt that's a Gucci belt that's like a hundred dollars and go to the bottom of the bigger.
- 1:14:07SPEAKER_02: Yeah, but then there are the cheapest thing you could get.
- 1:14:10SPEAKER_02: Yeah, there are people who who will dress uh textbook to what the end is or what is in season or what's in fashion, but outside of certain labels, they have absolutely no style.
- 1:14:24SPEAKER_02: You know what I'm saying?
- 1:14:25SPEAKER_02: So it's like if you removed all of that, all of that shit that you're wearing, could you go to a store with regular shit and put something together and still look like something?
- 1:14:35SPEAKER_02: You know what I'm saying?
- 1:14:36SPEAKER_02: Exactly.
- 1:14:36SPEAKER_00: Like just like when we see a lot of celebrities wear all these crazy outfits, it's like, is it just because of the name behind the outfit?
- 1:14:44SPEAKER_00: But it's like that doesn't really look good.
- 1:14:46SPEAKER_00: Like it looks great.
- 1:14:48SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 1:14:49SPEAKER_00: But that's our point.
- 1:14:50SPEAKER_00: Like, some people are just more into the brand name than the actual look.
- 1:14:53SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
- 1:14:53SPEAKER_01: It's those same people that you talk about.
- 1:14:55SPEAKER_01: They're they're being thrown material to wear that they don't they wouldn't even purchase what they're wearing because it's free, and then we go out and buy it because we see it on that artist.
- 1:15:03SPEAKER_02: I don't I don't I don't disagree with that because you know, unfortunately, our people we look we look towards celebrity and entertainment, you know, as as uh some sort of you know trans hierarchy and to look up to.
- 1:15:18SPEAKER_04: But I'm glad that uh Red brought up polo in particular because I can remember when Ralph Lauren came out, Ralph Lauren has been around for a long ass time before any of us probably started wearing it.
- 1:15:29SPEAKER_04: But the thing that I always realized is that black people always chose to get the biggest Ralph Lauren printed shit.
- 1:15:35SPEAKER_04: The polo rugby's with the biggest like Japan and Canada and all kinds of shit on it.
- 1:15:40SPEAKER_04: You got to, you got to use a huge ass horse on it.
- 1:15:43SPEAKER_04: Exactly, because you know that that's but the white guy could be wearing the same exact brand as you're wearing, or the Asian guy, whoever you want to use, and his polo insignia or logo is probably not even visible on his shirt, and his shirt costs more than your shirt because you have to know that I spent the money on this shit, man.
- 1:16:01SPEAKER_04: But my thing is you guys should know that this got horsepower.
- 1:16:05SPEAKER_04: Yeah, why?
- 1:16:06SPEAKER_04: Why is that such a big deal within our culture?
- 1:16:09SPEAKER_03: Because it wasn't it wasn't cheap, it wasn't cheap, it wasn't cheap.
- 1:16:13SPEAKER_03: You gotta think about so think about the person that like really lives in a fucked up situation.
- 1:16:18SPEAKER_03: They probably shouldn't be buying that stuff, but if we all live in the same project housing, rent is probably the same price, and like probably a couple hundred dollars more than the other person or less than the other person, right?
- 1:16:30SPEAKER_03: Yeah, so if if if I live in this neighborhood and I spend X amount of dollars on this item, I want to I wanted to say the logo on it so you know that even though we live in the same place, I was able to I'm better than you, yeah, cool.
- 1:16:46SPEAKER_03: Not really better than you, not really better than you.
- 1:16:48SPEAKER_03: That's I think that's a little too much, but I'm able to afford this, and I think that goes towards what Ace is saying.
- 1:16:54SPEAKER_03: Yeah, exactly.
- 1:16:55SPEAKER_03: You want to be able to make you want to be able to make yourself look different than everybody else.
- 1:17:00SPEAKER_03: So show that just because I live in a place that it particularly may look to people that is a as a poor place, I'm still able to afford something.
- 1:17:09SPEAKER_05: That's how bronze people be for sure.
- 1:17:11SPEAKER_04: All right, uh I don't want to be the dead horse.
- 1:17:15SPEAKER_04: Chinatown's fault.
- 1:17:18SPEAKER_04: I think we all pretty much got our point across on that topic.
- 1:17:22SPEAKER_04: Um, does anybody have anything else to say before we move on?
- 1:17:26SPEAKER_04: She buying it.
- 1:17:27SPEAKER_00: I have something to say, I have to do that.
- 1:17:30SPEAKER_00: All this conversation.
- 1:17:33SPEAKER_05: It happened.
- 1:17:35SPEAKER_00: I'll see you all if I remember it.
- 1:17:39SPEAKER_04: So um next topic.
- 1:17:41SPEAKER_04: I have like just like one topic left, which is the closing topic.
- 1:17:45SPEAKER_04: I don't want to run it unless we're closing now.
- 1:17:47SPEAKER_04: So if you guys have anything else y'all want to talk about, um did y'all speak sports?
- 1:17:54SPEAKER_04: Uh we we dabble.
- 1:17:55SPEAKER_04: The draft you spoke about the last dance.
- 1:17:59SPEAKER_04: No, I was actually waiting for you know uh different crowd to speak about that.
- 1:18:03SPEAKER_04: But you're here, so this is a pretty good uh substitute.
- 1:18:07SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 1:18:08SPEAKER_04: How did you feel about the dot?
- 1:18:10SPEAKER_02: Uh I'll be real, I'll be real with you.
- 1:18:12SPEAKER_02: I was in and out of sleep while watching it.
- 1:18:15SPEAKER_02: Damn.
- 1:18:16SPEAKER_02: I believe, I believe earlier in the podcast you heard uh KOcho and um ace refer to how good the eating is in the Dominican household.
- 1:18:26SPEAKER_02: I I can attest to that.
- 1:18:28SPEAKER_02: And I caught the itis.
- 1:18:31SPEAKER_02: And yeah, but um from what I did see, I was able to see uh I was able to see Michael Jordan, you know, for so far for you know who he was on the court.
- 1:18:46SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 1:18:49SPEAKER_04: I think that's a fair assessment.
- 1:18:51SPEAKER_04: I seen the first two episodes and reasons why he's better than LeBron James.
- 1:18:55SPEAKER_04: Okay, that's fair.
- 1:18:57SPEAKER_04: Um I seen the first two episodes, and I uh I'm I'm a student of the game, so I didn't really learn too much about Jordan himself.
- 1:19:06SPEAKER_04: I learned a lot, though, about the Bulls organization and why their dynasty, you know, kind of came to an abrupt end.
- 1:19:13SPEAKER_04: I didn't even realize that.
- 1:19:14SPEAKER_04: I never thought to myself, hey, they won six titles.
- 1:19:16SPEAKER_04: Why didn't they lose?
- 1:19:18SPEAKER_04: Like, you know, at the end, I'd be like, okay, that was it.
- 1:19:20SPEAKER_04: That was our six titles, and we lost, and we didn't get a chance to compete for our seventh.
- 1:19:24SPEAKER_04: They really didn't even get a chance to compete for their seventh title.
- 1:19:27SPEAKER_04: And that's what Jordan said.
- 1:19:28SPEAKER_01: They actually did.
- 1:19:29SPEAKER_01: It depends on when you start counting because he said the first one against the Celtics that they almost won, no?
- 1:19:35SPEAKER_04: No, I'm talking about after they won three.
- 1:19:39SPEAKER_04: Oh, after six, okay.
- 1:19:40SPEAKER_04: Yeah, like after their sixth title, they didn't get a chance to defend the the sixth one, really.
- 1:19:45SPEAKER_04: So it was it was an organization thing, and ego plays a lot in like the destruction of good shit.
- 1:19:51SPEAKER_04: So it's really a good testament to just like how you know businesses ran, not just in basketball, but just in life in general.
- 1:19:58SPEAKER_04: Like your ego and the general manager were both pieces of shit.
- 1:20:02SPEAKER_04: Yeah, for for the most part, yeah.
- 1:20:04SPEAKER_04: Like you can look at it like that.
- 1:20:06SPEAKER_04: But one thing that I did learn, and you know, I know you guys took your little shot at LeBron.
- 1:20:10SPEAKER_04: I'm gonna take a shot at Jordan.
- 1:20:12SPEAKER_04: Jordan actually greenlit the release of this thing once LeBron came back uh from the 3-1 deficit against the Warriors.
- 1:20:19SPEAKER_04: Because at first Jordan didn't give a fuck about this until he saw LeBron coming back from 3-1, he was like, nah, I gotta release this shit.
- 1:20:26SPEAKER_04: Bro, it doesn't matter.
- 1:20:26SPEAKER_04: He still lost as many finals as Jordan won.
- 1:20:29SPEAKER_04: Put that in your pipe and smoke it.
- 1:20:31SPEAKER_01: I listen, I think that Jordan not to mention the complete difference in a uh defense that they had back in the day.
- 1:20:39SPEAKER_02: Bro, how long ago?
- 1:20:42SPEAKER_02: How long ago did he go 3-1?
- 1:20:45SPEAKER_02: Who?
- 1:20:46SPEAKER_02: How long did he come back from 3-1?
- 1:20:48SPEAKER_02: How many years ago was that?
- 1:20:50SPEAKER_02: I mean, you can't use that one.
- 1:20:51SPEAKER_02: Three years ago, like two, three.
- 1:20:52SPEAKER_02: Three years ago, right?
- 1:20:53SPEAKER_02: So you mean to tell me like this footage has been sitting around for 20 somebody years?
- 1:20:57SPEAKER_02: Yes, that's what I'm gonna tell you.
- 1:20:59SPEAKER_02: So so you mean to all right?
- 1:21:00SPEAKER_02: So boom, like, oh no, LeBron won a title.
- 1:21:02SPEAKER_02: Let me put it put it out now.
- 1:21:04SPEAKER_02: But it comes out how many years after that?
- 1:21:06SPEAKER_04: No, that's literally what I can I could believe it.
- 1:21:10SPEAKER_03: I could believe it.
- 1:21:11SPEAKER_03: Because all these young kids take a while to make these documentaries, exactly.
- 1:21:15SPEAKER_03: Jordan was bothered, man.
- 1:21:16SPEAKER_03: It's fine.
- 1:21:17SPEAKER_03: All these young kids are saying that LeBron is the goal.
- 1:21:20SPEAKER_03: So I believe that Jordan's like their generation.
- 1:21:23SPEAKER_03: I see it.
- 1:21:25SPEAKER_04: Nah, there's no, it's not of their generation.
- 1:21:27SPEAKER_04: There's NBA players right now that think that LeBron James was the best player of all time.
- 1:21:31SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 1:21:32SPEAKER_03: And they didn't see Jordan.
- 1:21:34SPEAKER_04: And what and what is that?
- 1:21:37SPEAKER_01: What I'm saying for older person, for an older person, it's easier to have a debate on that conversation.
- 1:21:43SPEAKER_01: For a younger person, I'm saying uh hands down, James is king to them and is the GOAT because they don't know besides what they're being told are unless they're like the elder, the um the older, the elders in their their family, without actually researching.
- 1:21:58SPEAKER_01: They don't know how good Jordan or anybody else is.
- 1:22:00SPEAKER_01: All they know is James.
- 1:22:01SPEAKER_01: So I can understand why a younger, a younger demographic only.
- 1:22:05SPEAKER_03: That's why I could believe Jordan was watching that comeback from 3-1, and he was like, you know what?
- 1:22:11SPEAKER_03: We gotta release this shit.
- 1:22:13SPEAKER_03: Because they gotta know my legacy.
- 1:22:15SPEAKER_03: They gotta.
- 1:22:16SPEAKER_04: I think this is doing one.
- 1:22:17SPEAKER_04: I think this is actually helping other bullshiters as well.
- 1:22:19SPEAKER_04: Like, people don't understand how good Scottie Pippen was either.
- 1:22:22SPEAKER_02: And that has nothing to do to like diminish anything that Jordan did.
- 1:22:27SPEAKER_02: Like, I don't understand how people are taking that as a oh.
- 1:22:30SPEAKER_02: It shows that he was threatened.
- 1:22:31SPEAKER_02: It shows that he was threatening a little bit.
- 1:22:32SPEAKER_03: Honestly, if I'm Jordan and and I am like obviously he's he's the greatest.
- 1:22:36SPEAKER_03: I think he's the greatest.
- 1:22:38SPEAKER_03: I would do the same thing.
- 1:22:40SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I would think it was a good place.
- 1:22:43SPEAKER_03: I think it was the good play.
- 1:22:45SPEAKER_03: I'll be honest though, but I would do the exact same thing.
- 1:22:48SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah, I I'll be honest though.
- 1:22:50SPEAKER_02: It's funny how things happen because this fucking shit hits at the perfect time where LeBron is at home watching the shit on ESPN.
- 1:23:01SPEAKER_02: Yeah, everybody.
- 1:23:02SPEAKER_02: No basketball.
- 1:23:02SPEAKER_02: There's no other basketball.
- 1:23:03SPEAKER_04: There's nothing else to watch.
- 1:23:05SPEAKER_00: Right?
- 1:23:05SPEAKER_00: That's the thing to watch.
- 1:23:07SPEAKER_04: It's a great timing for the jump man.
- 1:23:10SPEAKER_04: Um, but yeah, like just for the record, I I definitely think uh Jordan has the best career in uh basketball history.
- 1:23:18SPEAKER_04: You can make the argument for sports in general.
- 1:23:20SPEAKER_04: I just think that LeBron James is just a better basketball player.
- 1:23:23SPEAKER_04: That was always my argument.
- 1:23:25SPEAKER_04: If you line up their careers, I'm gonna take Jordan's career over Jordan.
- 1:23:28SPEAKER_04: I mean Jordan's career over LeBron.
- 1:23:29SPEAKER_04: Um, but I just don't think that Jordan's the better basketball player.
- 1:23:33SPEAKER_04: That's just the only argument I have.
- 1:23:34SPEAKER_01: AG, I got a quick question for you.
- 1:23:35SPEAKER_01: I don't remember your answer.
- 1:23:37SPEAKER_04: Yeah, what's up?
- 1:23:38SPEAKER_01: Jay-Z or Drake?
- 1:23:40SPEAKER_01: In terms of what?
- 1:23:42SPEAKER_01: The best.
- 1:23:43SPEAKER_01: Goat.
- 1:23:44SPEAKER_01: Oh, the Jay-Z.
- 1:23:45SPEAKER_01: Drake don't write his own shit.
- 1:23:46SPEAKER_01: Oh, okay.
- 1:23:48SPEAKER_01: That's my whole argument, man.
- 1:23:49SPEAKER_04: Oh, okay.
- 1:23:50SPEAKER_06: That's it.
- 1:23:51SPEAKER_01: I gotta res I gotta respect it.
- 1:23:53SPEAKER_01: Isn't it the same with LeBron James and Michael Jordan though?
- 1:23:56SPEAKER_01: What are you talking about?
- 1:23:56SPEAKER_01: Oh, okay.
- 1:23:57SPEAKER_01: Oh, okay.
- 1:23:58SPEAKER_01: What are you talking about?
- 1:24:00SPEAKER_01: What's the parallel, man?
- 1:24:01SPEAKER_01: The the the whole legacy that he precedes.
- 1:24:04SPEAKER_04: Yeah, Jordan has the better legacy.
- 1:24:06SPEAKER_04: I I I give you guys that point.
- 1:24:08SPEAKER_01: But it was created by Jordan.
- 1:24:09SPEAKER_01: What is to become named King?
- 1:24:12SPEAKER_01: King of what?
- 1:24:12SPEAKER_01: Something that Jordan did.
- 1:24:13SPEAKER_01: That's all I had to say.
- 1:24:15SPEAKER_04: I'm just talking about Monoe Mono.
- 1:24:17SPEAKER_04: You lined them both up on the basketball court one-on-one.
- 1:24:20SPEAKER_04: I'm taking LeBron James.
- 1:24:22SPEAKER_04: That's all.
- 1:24:22SPEAKER_04: You're taking LeBron over Jordan.
- 1:24:25SPEAKER_04: Absolutely.
- 1:24:27SPEAKER_01: That's bold.
- 1:24:28SPEAKER_01: That's bold.
- 1:24:29SPEAKER_01: Here to date.
- 1:24:30SPEAKER_01: I can understand that because one's retired and one's currently still playing.
- 1:24:33SPEAKER_03: I guess you have to be man.
- 1:24:34SPEAKER_01: I'm just telling you, LeBron's gonna be a big play.
- 1:24:38SPEAKER_03: One on one is definitely a different game.
- 1:24:39SPEAKER_04: Yo, Jordan, Jordan couldn't guard Magic Johnson in the twilight of his career.
- 1:24:44SPEAKER_04: They had to put Pippin on him.
- 1:24:46SPEAKER_04: So you're telling me a guy that is Magic Johnson plus.
- 1:24:49SPEAKER_04: And when the fuck has LeBron never played real defense?
- 1:24:54SPEAKER_02: Who's gonna have to push his ass out there to play the uh last season?
- 1:24:57SPEAKER_02: I don't hear that.
- 1:24:59SPEAKER_04: Come on, don't when it counts, LeBron James played defense.
- 1:25:03SPEAKER_04: No, you know what counts?
- 1:25:05SPEAKER_04: His finals record three and six.
- 1:25:07SPEAKER_04: That shit is abysmal.
- 1:25:08SPEAKER_04: It's abysmal.
- 1:25:09SPEAKER_04: That's why his career, I'm taking joy.
- 1:25:11SPEAKER_04: I'm taking those, I'm taking all the six rings, I'm taking the scoring titles, I'm taking everything that Jordan's career.
- 1:25:17SPEAKER_04: I see you.
- 1:25:17SPEAKER_01: I see you.
- 1:25:18SPEAKER_01: You you like the longevity.
- 1:25:19SPEAKER_01: Even if he plays for 50 years, whatever he acquires along the road makes him better than Jordan.
- 1:25:24SPEAKER_01: I get it, I get it.
- 1:25:24SPEAKER_04: I'm I you see I never said it.
- 1:25:26SPEAKER_04: Jordan just did it all the time.
- 1:25:28SPEAKER_02: Nah, but what you gotta understand?
- 1:25:30SPEAKER_02: That's all all of these, these, these, these accolades that LeBron gets, like, I get it.
- 1:25:34SPEAKER_02: Like it's cool, but let's be real.
- 1:25:36SPEAKER_02: Had he fucking uh had Jordan fucking played all of these seasons, he definitely would have been that dude.
- 1:25:43SPEAKER_02: Um if LeBron James played his full season, he would be a different dude.
- 1:25:48SPEAKER_01: But he doesn't.
- 1:25:49SPEAKER_04: All I know is I'm I'm taking Kareem Abdul the ball over both of them, though.
- 1:25:53SPEAKER_04: That's that's just me personally.
- 1:25:55SPEAKER_04: That's cool.
- 1:25:56SPEAKER_00: And and that's Kareem a top scorer, you see.
- 1:25:59SPEAKER_04: Yeah, number one all time.
- 1:26:02SPEAKER_01: Oh James is number two now.
- 1:26:03SPEAKER_01: No, three, no, James is three.
- 1:26:06SPEAKER_04: Carl Malone is still Malone.
- 1:26:09SPEAKER_04: Oh Malone, Carl Malone, man.
- 1:26:12SPEAKER_04: Yeah, but he also played till he was 40 years old.
- 1:26:14SPEAKER_04: Don't forget about that.
- 1:26:15SPEAKER_04: So what?
- 1:26:16SPEAKER_03: That's what LeBron's how many threes did he make.
- 1:26:19SPEAKER_04: Well understanding these are all like dunks and like scoring in the paint.
- 1:26:24SPEAKER_04: Yeah, that's why I got Kareem number one, man.
- 1:26:27SPEAKER_04: He has 600.
- 1:26:29SPEAKER_02: And they say that Jordan played no talent, but he kept the number two score of all time out of the fuck out of uh rings and shit.
- 1:26:36SPEAKER_02: Fuck out of here.
- 1:26:37SPEAKER_04: Yeah, that's true.
- 1:26:37SPEAKER_04: That's true.
- 1:26:38SPEAKER_04: Listen, I give Jordan his dudes, man.
- 1:26:40SPEAKER_04: I'm not a Jordan.
- 1:26:40SPEAKER_04: Offensive foul.
- 1:26:41SPEAKER_04: That game's full of things.
- 1:26:43SPEAKER_00: You can't fight someone on their opinion.
- 1:26:46SPEAKER_02: I hate when people try to sit there and act like Jordan played Scrubs.
- 1:26:50SPEAKER_02: Like do you see do you see who he played up in the finals?
- 1:26:55SPEAKER_02: Those those finals teams that he's played?
- 1:26:57SPEAKER_02: He's played against people who who are uh greats, all-time greats.
- 1:27:02SPEAKER_04: But Red, let me ask you this one question, right?
- 1:27:04SPEAKER_04: Look at the look at the opposing team shooting guard and tell me which one of those dudes could play in the NBA.
- 1:27:12SPEAKER_01: That's what that's all I needed to do.
- 1:27:14SPEAKER_01: That's my argument.
- 1:27:15SPEAKER_01: Yo, Jordan took down franchises and one by one.
- 1:27:19SPEAKER_01: One by one.
- 1:27:22SPEAKER_02: Making the league is making the league.
- 1:27:25SPEAKER_02: Nah, don't make that.
- 1:27:27SPEAKER_02: Nah, man, nah, you can't say that.
- 1:27:29SPEAKER_02: I don't give me that bullshit.
- 1:27:31SPEAKER_02: Making the league is making the lead.
- 1:27:32SPEAKER_02: The bottom line is this Jordan is that dude.
- 1:27:36SPEAKER_02: We can we can be more definitely.
- 1:27:37SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you're right.
- 1:27:38SPEAKER_02: You're absolutely right.
- 1:27:39SPEAKER_04: I would never argue with you.
- 1:27:40SPEAKER_04: I would have never argued with you on that.
- 1:27:41SPEAKER_02: And I think that I think that in this current game, in this current era, he'd be he'd average at least 40 points with no hand checking.
- 1:27:51SPEAKER_02: Wait, wait, wait.
- 1:27:54SPEAKER_02: Yann is guarding him.
- 1:27:55SPEAKER_02: He's not averaging 40 points.
- 1:27:56SPEAKER_03: He's not scoring on the pocket.
- 1:28:00SPEAKER_05: Okay.
- 1:28:01SPEAKER_03: Think that if you want to.
- 1:28:02SPEAKER_03: He's not getting a shot up on Giannis.
- 1:28:04SPEAKER_03: Think that if you want to that guy's a freak of nature, he's a freak of nature.
- 1:28:07SPEAKER_03: Not 40.
- 1:28:08SPEAKER_03: Not 40.
- 1:28:08SPEAKER_03: Not 40.
- 1:28:10SPEAKER_02: How many times are they gonna play them during the season?
- 1:28:13SPEAKER_04: He's in the East, man.
- 1:28:14SPEAKER_04: He's gonna play them quite a few times.
- 1:28:16SPEAKER_02: Okay, but I'm saying, like, nah, he's still gonna average, he's still gonna average up close to 40.
- 1:28:21SPEAKER_02: I'll give you 30, bro.
- 1:28:22SPEAKER_02: Now 40.
- 1:28:23SPEAKER_04: That's he didn't shoot the three well, bro.
- 1:28:27SPEAKER_04: Bro, he freaking averaged 30 over his whole career.
- 1:28:31SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I know.
- 1:28:32SPEAKER_04: And I'd say he'll continue doing that, but he's not averaging 40.
- 1:28:35SPEAKER_04: That's ridiculous.
- 1:28:36unknown: Okay.
- 1:28:38SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 1:28:38SPEAKER_04: Come on now.
- 1:28:39SPEAKER_04: Let's be fair.
- 1:28:39SPEAKER_04: Let's be fair.
- 1:28:42SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna say his three-point shooting is something that he would adjust to.
- 1:28:47SPEAKER_02: Like he adjusted.
- 1:28:48SPEAKER_02: I don't like that argument that he needed to when he won.
- 1:28:52SPEAKER_04: You can't say that he would have definitely done that.
- 1:28:55SPEAKER_04: I I don't disagree with you, but then that's like me saying, Oh, yeah, LeBron would have just adjusted to the defense.
- 1:28:59SPEAKER_04: It's the same for the simple for the simple fact that he won six chips with the mid-range.
- 1:29:07SPEAKER_04: In the era of the mid-range.
- 1:29:09SPEAKER_04: That's what everybody was doing.
- 1:29:10SPEAKER_04: He was just the best at it.
- 1:29:12SPEAKER_04: Sorry.
- 1:29:13SPEAKER_04: In this current game, in this current era, he would still roll.
- 1:29:18SPEAKER_04: Uh he would probably be one of the top three scorers.
- 1:29:20SPEAKER_04: I'll give you that.
- 1:29:21SPEAKER_04: But I don't think it's a good thing.
- 1:29:22SPEAKER_04: James Harder would be right for his money.
- 1:29:24SPEAKER_04: The dudes today are too athletic.
- 1:29:26SPEAKER_04: The defense is too sophisticated.
- 1:29:28SPEAKER_04: Well, if you really look at the defense back then, I'm not gonna make the argument that it wasn't physical, but it just wasn't intelligent defense.
- 1:29:34SPEAKER_04: First of all, you couldn't really ISO.
- 1:29:35SPEAKER_04: Like you mean you couldn't ISO Jordan.
- 1:29:39SPEAKER_04: Nah, but if it was illegal if you sent a second defender on the ISO, it's called illegal defense.
- 1:29:45SPEAKER_04: Basically, a zone was illegal.
- 1:29:47SPEAKER_04: Oh wow.
- 1:29:48SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 1:29:48SPEAKER_04: Which is legal.
- 1:29:50SPEAKER_04: Yeah, so the ISO had to be literally one on one.
- 1:29:53SPEAKER_04: I could not help.
- 1:29:54SPEAKER_04: So it became a legal defense.
- 1:29:55SPEAKER_03: LeBron is averaging 90 and some shit like that.
- 1:29:58SPEAKER_03: That's what I'm saying.
- 1:30:00SPEAKER_03: But I'm not gonna I'm not gonna make that argument.
- 1:30:02SPEAKER_02: I'm not gonna make that up.
- 1:30:03SPEAKER_02: LeBron is too soft.
- 1:30:04SPEAKER_02: He would have got bounced around in the paint.
- 1:30:07SPEAKER_02: James Harden is averaging 90 back then.
- 1:30:13SPEAKER_02: Yeah, nah, because there's no 75 free throws.
- 1:30:16SPEAKER_03: Huh?
- 1:30:17SPEAKER_03: What's what's Steph Curry?
- 1:30:21SPEAKER_02: Steph Curry is gonna open.
- 1:30:22SPEAKER_02: He's gonna shoot twos.
- 1:30:23SPEAKER_02: No matter which.
- 1:30:25SPEAKER_01: He's averaging 100 points, bro.
- 1:30:27SPEAKER_01: I'm telling you that right now.
- 1:30:29SPEAKER_01: There's no threes.
- 1:30:30SPEAKER_01: He's gonna have 75, bro.
- 1:30:31SPEAKER_01: Nah, it doesn't matter.
- 1:30:32SPEAKER_01: He was at 52s right there.
- 1:30:34SPEAKER_04: Nobody's guarding him out there.
- 1:30:38SPEAKER_04: That's a free throw for that man.
- 1:30:41SPEAKER_04: Jordan got to play a season with a with a short uh three-point line.
- 1:30:44SPEAKER_04: He's still shot 24% for his career for the three.
- 1:30:47SPEAKER_04: That's terrible.
- 1:30:48SPEAKER_04: But uh enough Jordan Dashing.
- 1:30:50SPEAKER_04: Enough Jordan Dashing.
- 1:30:51SPEAKER_04: It's fine.
- 1:30:52SPEAKER_04: He's a goal, man.
- 1:30:52SPEAKER_04: Y'all got it.
- 1:30:53SPEAKER_04: Y'all got your documentary.
- 1:30:55SPEAKER_04: I got your shoes.
- 1:30:57SPEAKER_04: Got everything.
- 1:30:58SPEAKER_04: It's cool.
- 1:30:58SPEAKER_04: It's cool.
- 1:30:59SPEAKER_04: You got him.
- 1:31:00SPEAKER_04: And he's from Brooklyn, so we got him too.
- 1:31:01SPEAKER_04: Don't forget that.
- 1:31:02SPEAKER_04: Nah, nigga, he's not jacking that, man.
- 1:31:04SPEAKER_04: Nah, he's not jacking that either.
- 1:31:07SPEAKER_04: And Jordan don't like white boys.
- 1:31:09SPEAKER_04: Jordan like black people either.
- 1:31:11SPEAKER_04: And his eyes is yellow.
- 1:31:13SPEAKER_04: How do you have John Dis and you're a billionaire?
- 1:31:17SPEAKER_04: He's a nigga drunk like a fish, that's why.
- 1:31:21SPEAKER_04: Oh man, we had a new episode.
- 1:31:22SPEAKER_04: You seen the yak in his cup, right?
- 1:31:24SPEAKER_04: Yeah, the whole time, man.
- 1:31:25SPEAKER_04: That shit kept refilling itself.
- 1:31:27SPEAKER_04: I don't like that.
- 1:31:29SPEAKER_04: But yo, tonight's episode, Red, is gonna be about your guy, uh Rodman.
- 1:31:33SPEAKER_04: That's the dude.
- 1:31:36SPEAKER_02: He is underrated.
- 1:31:37SPEAKER_02: Yeah, he is.
- 1:31:38SPEAKER_02: Rodman, Rodman in 96, dressed like every rapper dresses today.
- 1:31:43SPEAKER_04: For real.
- 1:31:44SPEAKER_02: That's where Wheezy got it from.
- 1:31:46SPEAKER_04: For real.
- 1:31:48SPEAKER_04: Yeah, and uh he was fucking with Donald.
- 1:31:52SPEAKER_04: Shit is crazy.
- 1:31:53SPEAKER_02: And my nigga, and my nigga Rodman was uh was in the NWO.
- 1:31:57SPEAKER_02: That's that that's the nigga right there.
- 1:31:59SPEAKER_02: I want to hear nothing.
- 1:32:00SPEAKER_02: I wanna hear nothing.
- 1:32:02SPEAKER_03: I forgot about this.
- 1:32:04SPEAKER_03: Carl Malone was in the NWO too.
- 1:32:07SPEAKER_03: Yeah, hell yeah.
- 1:32:07SPEAKER_04: I remember also hates black people too.
- 1:32:10SPEAKER_04: Don't forget that.
- 1:32:11SPEAKER_04: That nigga's a red nigga.
- 1:32:12SPEAKER_04: He played his whole career in Utah.
- 1:32:14SPEAKER_04: How would you do that?
- 1:32:17SPEAKER_03: Isn't he a cowboy?
- 1:32:18SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:32:18SPEAKER_04: Or a ranger or some shit.
- 1:32:19SPEAKER_04: That nigga is a fucking cowboy.
- 1:32:21SPEAKER_04: A rapist is um allegedly.
- 1:32:22SPEAKER_04: Oh no, oh yeah, he's definitely not it's not alleged.
- 1:32:25SPEAKER_04: It's not alleged.
- 1:32:26SPEAKER_04: It's facts.
- 1:32:27SPEAKER_04: The child is living testimony.
- 1:32:30SPEAKER_02: I didn't watch the whole thing, so I don't want to speak too much.
- 1:32:32SPEAKER_04: So that's why I said allegedly.
- 1:32:34SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I got I got your back, man.
- 1:32:35SPEAKER_04: Carmelone is a terrible human.
- 1:32:39SPEAKER_04: No, I don't think so.

- 1:32:47SPEAKER_04: I'm gonna tell you right now.
- 1:32:49SPEAKER_04: Get Carl Malone.
- 1:32:50SPEAKER_02: The mailman, he was delivering more than packages.
- 1:32:53SPEAKER_03: Yeah, get him the fuck out of here.
- 1:32:55SPEAKER_04: You can hit a you can have an elbow jump shot in his sleep, bro.
- 1:33:00SPEAKER_04: Take that away from him.
- 1:33:01SPEAKER_04: Take that away from him.
- 1:33:03SPEAKER_04: Oh man.
- 1:33:04SPEAKER_04: But um before we get up out of here, I got one last topic, unless y'all got something else y'all want to talk about.
- 1:33:10SPEAKER_03: Uh no, I think I said, I think I sent you everything.
- 1:33:13SPEAKER_01: Uh I think we talked about it.
- 1:33:15SPEAKER_01: Anybody done anything different with their STEMI money?
- 1:33:20SPEAKER_04: I think Red got double since he's a Native American.
- 1:33:23SPEAKER_01: Yeah.

- 1:33:31SPEAKER_01: That's cool.
- 1:33:33SPEAKER_02: It's cool because I'm saving my STEMI check so uh I can join Kanye on the Forbes list as a billionaire.
- 1:33:40SPEAKER_02: That's what I'm talking about.
- 1:33:41SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:33:42SPEAKER_03: Oh yeah, we forgot to dig up Kanye.
- 1:33:47SPEAKER_03: He lied, he lied.
- 1:33:48SPEAKER_03: He is doing Sunday services, man.
- 1:33:51SPEAKER_01: Church money, man.
- 1:33:52SPEAKER_01: The difference is now he's tax-free.
- 1:33:54SPEAKER_01: So he doesn't have to be millions.
- 1:33:57SPEAKER_01: I know, I know.
- 1:33:58SPEAKER_01: That's the difference.
- 1:33:59SPEAKER_01: I'm just cool as a black man.
- 1:34:02SPEAKER_01: I'm cool with that.
- 1:34:03SPEAKER_01: I'm cool.
- 1:34:03SPEAKER_01: He's a Gemini.
- 1:34:04SPEAKER_01: He's all right.
- 1:34:06SPEAKER_01: He can't be that bad.
- 1:34:08SPEAKER_04: I got one last question for y'all.
- 1:34:10SPEAKER_04: What up?
- 1:34:12SPEAKER_04: Can you guys each suggest one show to watch or movie during this Rona crisis?
- 1:34:19SPEAKER_01: Black as fuck.
- 1:34:21SPEAKER_04: That's yours.
- 1:34:22SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 1:34:23SPEAKER_03: Um, tune, you got one?
- 1:34:25SPEAKER_03: Uh, can you come back to me?
- 1:34:27SPEAKER_03: I really honestly haven't been watching much, but I can come up with you.
- 1:34:29SPEAKER_03: I got you.
- 1:34:30SPEAKER_03: You already what you got, man.
- 1:34:32SPEAKER_02: Um I've actually just uh just started watching Black as Fuck myself.
- 1:34:39SPEAKER_02: Uh, but if I'm gonna sit there and recommend anything, I'm gonna go with the classic and say if you have Hulu, better watch Californication, baby.
- 1:34:48SPEAKER_02: Okay, I'm actually gonna check that out.
- 1:34:50SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I've never watched that.
- 1:34:52SPEAKER_05: I'm gonna I'll definitely have Hulu.
- 1:34:54SPEAKER_02: All right, so AG, AG, I'm just gonna I'm just gonna say this.
- 1:35:00SPEAKER_02: Your and which this is why I think you'll be able to watch it.
- 1:35:03SPEAKER_02: Your comedy intellect has to be there, has to be present.
- 1:35:08SPEAKER_02: Um, it doesn't like it doesn't necessarily start off in a way that you might be able to catch on to immediately, yeah.
- 1:35:16SPEAKER_02: But definitely give it a shot.
- 1:35:18SPEAKER_02: I I want to say by the second episode, you'll be like, oh yeah, I fucked with this guy.
- 1:35:23SPEAKER_02: Gotcha.
- 1:35:24SPEAKER_02: Thank you.
- 1:35:25SPEAKER_04: Uh KOTO, what's your show?
- 1:35:28SPEAKER_04: Um or movie, or movie.
- 1:35:31SPEAKER_00: Or movie.
- 1:35:33SPEAKER_00: There's just so many, I can't even think of one.
- 1:35:36SPEAKER_00: This sucks.
- 1:35:36SPEAKER_01: I mean, we also watched The Last OG.
- 1:35:38SPEAKER_01: We've been watching Last OG and now.
- 1:35:40SPEAKER_03: Oh, yeah, I heard that was good.
- 1:35:42SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 1:35:42SPEAKER_00: What else did we watch this new?
- 1:35:45SPEAKER_00: I feel like there's so much new stuff though that came out.
- 1:35:47SPEAKER_00: We basically got Netflix.
- 1:35:48SPEAKER_01: We basically finished everything.
- 1:35:50SPEAKER_01: It's just hard to remember because we didn't write it down.
- 1:35:53SPEAKER_01: I'm writing these down.
- 1:35:56SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna give y'all one.
- 1:35:56SPEAKER_01: Uh Ozark.
- 1:35:57SPEAKER_01: Ozark is really good.
- 1:35:58SPEAKER_05: Yeah, I guess.
- 1:35:59SPEAKER_01: I've been watching that one.
- 1:36:01SPEAKER_01: I've also been watching uh Westworld.
- 1:36:03SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah, that's my shit too.
- 1:36:05SPEAKER_01: It's a new episode tonight.
- 1:36:06SPEAKER_01: It's my type of show.
- 1:36:08SPEAKER_03: Snowfall is cool.
- 1:36:09SPEAKER_03: I like it, right?
- 1:36:12SPEAKER_03: And anything on Disney Plus.
- 1:36:13SPEAKER_03: I've been like in uh watching all my childhood favorites.
- 1:36:16SPEAKER_03: We've been watching The Devil.
- 1:36:18SPEAKER_02: Um PG.
- 1:36:19SPEAKER_02: Yo, um have you watched Dave Chappelle's Mark Twain acceptance?
- 1:36:27SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah, that was good.
- 1:36:28SPEAKER_02: No, where's that?
- 1:36:29SPEAKER_02: Netflix on Netflix.
- 1:36:30SPEAKER_00: It's on Netflix.
- 1:36:33SPEAKER_02: Okay, so what I want you to do when you watch that, especially when he starts speaking, is remember you've heard me mention the name Tony Woods plenty of times.
- 1:36:43SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah, I remember.
- 1:36:45SPEAKER_02: Just pay attention.
- 1:36:46SPEAKER_02: That's all I'll say.
- 1:36:47SPEAKER_04: Okay, thank you.
- 1:36:48SPEAKER_04: Appreciate the chance.
- 1:36:49SPEAKER_04: No doubt.
- 1:36:50SPEAKER_04: All right, guys.
- 1:36:51SPEAKER_04: Um, uh we I know we spoke about this pre-show, but you guys are gonna have to suffer through this and find a way to take us out the episode.
- 1:36:58SPEAKER_03: Uh Red's here, he's gonna hook it up.
- 1:37:01SPEAKER_03: Say what?
- 1:37:02SPEAKER_03: I say you here, you usually end the show pretty well, so we were struggling before, but you're here now to help.
- 1:37:09SPEAKER_03: Okay, cool.
- 1:37:11SPEAKER_02: Well, this is definitely COVID-19 money, quarantine money, stimmy money.
- 1:37:19SPEAKER_02: There you go.
- 1:37:20SPEAKER_02: Migger bucks.
- 1:37:25SPEAKER_02: Um damn man, I just thought of something else to talk about, but we on a we on a uh breakout, so uh uh next next uh next week, maybe.
- 1:37:34SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, but I do I do want to give a big shout out to our emergency responders, um, all of the at-home uh home assistance for the elderly and the people all the essential workers.
- 1:37:46SPEAKER_01: Well, not just you can't just put them out there as essential workers, you need to call them out for the people you know.
- 1:37:52SPEAKER_01: And paramedics emt is also we didn't speak about an empty that washed up on the shore of LIC uh a couple days ago, uh apparently took his life.
- 1:38:01SPEAKER_01: Uh he was new to the force, but um that just speaks yeah, that just speaks on a lot of the stress that these emergency services and uh these essential workers, as Red just mentioned, uh going through right now because they have no choice but to wake up and do what they do.
- 1:38:15SPEAKER_01: And we appreciate y'all.
- 1:38:16SPEAKER_00: Hopefully, after this, they can increase their pay because it's ridiculous that you know this this pandemic shows you how important.
- 1:38:26SPEAKER_01: You need to their payments to show it.
- 1:38:28SPEAKER_02: I believe that I uh there's I don't know if it's gonna be New York State, but someplace uh they're giving their uh staff of nurses and doctors a$2,500 uh scene back.
- 1:38:42SPEAKER_01: Yep, yeah, they said all um uh major, I think uh Is it North?
- 1:38:46SPEAKER_00: Is it Northwell?
- 1:38:47SPEAKER_01: I think I don't think it was Northwell.
- 1:38:50SPEAKER_00: I think it was.
- 1:38:50SPEAKER_01: They said all major uh New York City hospitals.
- 1:38:53SPEAKER_00: I think get them paid.
- 1:38:56SPEAKER_03: Get them people paid.
- 1:38:57SPEAKER_03: They need to.
- 1:38:58SPEAKER_03: Hey, listen, man, not for much.
- 1:39:00SPEAKER_02: Let's let's let's keep it real.
- 1:39:02SPEAKER_02: Let's keep it real.
- 1:39:03SPEAKER_02: The insurance companies are making handover fists right about now.
- 1:39:08SPEAKER_02: Too much money.
- 1:39:09SPEAKER_02: Too much money.
- 1:39:09SPEAKER_02: So so that's the least that can be done.
- 1:39:12SPEAKER_02: And I think that$2,500 per person is underpaid.
- 1:39:15SPEAKER_02: They need to get it from anywhere from eight to ten thousand dollars after all.
- 1:39:20SPEAKER_01: They need to get this, and they also need to get this money right fucking now and not later after they're sick and potentially can't um do anything with their money.
- 1:39:28SPEAKER_02: Right, so definitely major shout out to all of the first responders and everyone on the front lines who are battling against this and also have a family at home.
- 1:39:40SPEAKER_02: Um, you know, because they're they're putting their health and their family's health at risk to save others, so that definitely deserves recognition.
- 1:39:49SPEAKER_02: Absolutely.
- 1:39:50SPEAKER_02: All of the, you know, the policemen and the firemen and the corrections officers and sanitation workers, EMTs and medics, and everyone just thanks a lot for everything.
- 1:40:01SPEAKER_02: Bus drivers, train conductors, because people still got to go to work.
- 1:40:04SPEAKER_01: Everybody who's helping to keep our uh city sanitized and healthy, uh clean for us to uh be able to commute and that transfer this bullshit.
- 1:40:14SPEAKER_04: Thank you.
- 1:40:16SPEAKER_04: Thank you, thank you.
- 1:40:16SPEAKER_04: And uh, can I get a perfect?

- 1:40:34SPEAKER_02: Uh, can I get a perfect?
- 1:40:36SPEAKER_02: Perfect.
- 1:40:38SPEAKER_02: That was so weak.
- 1:40:40SPEAKER_04: That's but listen, I'm not normally used to doing that.
- 1:40:43SPEAKER_04: It's one of y'all.
- 1:40:44SPEAKER_04: Perfect.
